Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio.

00:00:04
Speaker 2: Final Hour on this Wednesday. When that flew by quickly, Gang's all here, Fritzy Set and Mark Paula yours truly, and of course the back room guys as well. Eight seven to seven three DP Show email address Dpadanpatrick dot com, Twitter handle a DP show Good morning if you're watching the program, be careful if you're watching with children, because apparently Marvin has been known to flip people off. He gave a double bird yesterday and we're still feeling those repercussions.

00:00:33
Speaker 3: Yes, Martin, I've learned from my mistakes. It won't happen again. Or or Mario says something to me that.

00:00:41
Speaker 2: Just you're guaranteeing that you will not flip off this audience again.

00:00:46
Speaker 4: I'm gonna try my hardest, guys, But.

00:00:50
Speaker 2: As you said, all of those people who have been mean to me about my small hands, and don't you think it's ironic that I flip them off with my small hands? I go, no, I don't think it's ironic at all. I think it's wrong.

00:01:02
Speaker 4: The full circle moment.

00:01:03
Speaker 2: Yes, you can't, it's not the circle of wife. Just don't do that again, flip people off, Scotty Scheffler, Rory McElroy, The PGA Tours Elite take on Bayhill. It's the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Master Cards. Saturday and Sunday two thirty Eastern on NBC and Peacock coming up. We'll play the reclamation game. Which quarterback? Who is going to be this year's Sam Darnold.

00:01:29
Speaker 5: We'll have that.

00:01:30
Speaker 2: We'll actually have a draft. Is that what you want to do? That will do a snake draft?

00:01:35
Speaker 4: Yeah?

00:01:35
Speaker 6: Quick, two round snake draft.

00:01:36
Speaker 2: Okay, all right? Eight seven to seven three DP show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your phone calls. Are Kyler Murray? Poll questions today kind of dominated the first two hours. What are we going to go with the final hour of the program, Seaton?

00:01:50
Speaker 7: Well, I have a few other options here from topics. We haven't really got to one off of Todd's topic. But more legit TGL or LIV?

00:01:59
Speaker 5: Oh wow?

00:02:01
Speaker 2: Well, I would say Live is more legitimate than teach GGL? Is it though?

00:02:07
Speaker 1: Yeah?

00:02:07
Speaker 2: Because now they're playing four rounds. I don't know if they're doing the music anymore. I know shorts, Yeah, I don't know. I think they can still wear shorts. But you know, I've played at a country club where you have to wear long pants every single time you play, no matter what the temperature is, it'll be ninety five and you got to wear long pants. I don't play it very often. In fact, I get invited, but I don't want to play because golf's hard enough. I don't want to be out there in ninety five degree weather with my long pants on. I need to show these legs. You know, that's going to be a distraction to the people that I'm playing with. They focus on that instead of their golf game.

00:02:50
Speaker 8: Yes, todd to a certain extent, it's already a snooty sport. You gotta add you gotta wear pants even if it's one hundred degrees. On top of that, we get it, you're better.

00:02:57
Speaker 4: Than everyone else. That's golf.

00:02:58
Speaker 2: Also, when you go in to the grill area, have to take off your hat, you have to have your sure tail tucked in. Now, there are golf courses in America where you can basically not wear anything, and it's all men's club and they don't care what you wear and don't wear. Although I don't think I want to play golf where I'm not wearing anything.

00:03:22
Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, but the kiss of death. If you ever go to a golf course and see someone walking out with jeans on, that may be worse than anything. You cannot wear jeans whilst golf.

00:03:32
Speaker 2: No you can't, you cannot, no, no, no, But I've seen it before cutoffs. Yeah, certain golf courses.

00:03:41
Speaker 7: But yeah.

00:03:42
Speaker 2: The Bayhill Invitation on the Arnold Palmer is coming up this weekend on NBC and Peacock, which is where you can find this program. Download the app if you haven't done so. The pole question for the final hour Seaton, did you tell me and I forgot?

00:03:56
Speaker 7: Well, you kind of poop pooed the live versus TJ. Yeah, you put that U there any kay, just to see. We also had another topic this morning that we haven't really gotten around to, but it was controversial the donut should be a breakfast food or dessert.

00:04:15
Speaker 6: It's breakfast.

00:04:16
Speaker 2: Why you just get something quick, you start your morning, give you a little energy and you're on your way.

00:04:22
Speaker 7: Yeah, we couldn't it just be sort of universally loved throughout the day. Why is it? Why is the donut of breakfast food? It's more desserty than anything else you could think of.

00:04:33
Speaker 2: Well, you don't have dessert at lunch, and if you're gonna have dessert dessert at dinner, it's not gonna be a donut.

00:04:40
Speaker 7: Make dessert lunch again?

00:04:42
Speaker 2: Is that what I would say? Your donut is your breakfast. It's just something quick. You don't have to have somebody whip up eggs and bacon. It's just say, hey, grab a donut. Get what todd A.

00:04:52
Speaker 4: Donut should not be breakfast.

00:04:54
Speaker 8: I understand that, you know, you grab it and you think of dunkin or whatever, and you get your coffee, whatever. But if a donut was shaped like a piece of chocolate, none of us would consider it, Oh what do you have for breakfast?

00:05:02
Speaker 4: Cake?

00:05:03
Speaker 2: So you're saying the shape of the donut is the reason why we don't embrace it as I.

00:05:07
Speaker 8: Think a lot of people see a donut and we're so used to being like a type of maybe a breakfast thing. But if the donut was shaped more like a dessert, or it's made out of the same kind of ingredients as desserts, so it's kind of insane because it's shaped.

00:05:18
Speaker 4: Like a circle with a hole missing. All of a sudden, it's.

00:05:20
Speaker 8: Breakfast, but if it was shaped like a cake, it'd be like, what are eating cake for breakfast?

00:05:24
Speaker 9: For?

00:05:24
Speaker 8: Even if it was made of the same exact ingredients but not shaped like a circle.

00:05:27
Speaker 7: Slow down taking arguably the best Rantids ever had on this show. Full support, Take a breath, Yes, Paul, A.

00:05:34
Speaker 6: Couple of things. If we were putting donuts in a lane, are they a breakfast item or a treat?

00:05:41
Speaker 2: I would say they're a breakfast item.

00:05:43
Speaker 6: I look back at the history of donuts, which I always have on my screen at the ready. It was more of a daytime treat to have with coffee and tea than a breakfast item back when it was originated.

00:05:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're having coffee and tea in the morning and that could be breakfast.

00:06:01
Speaker 6: Early donuts were an all day treat.

00:06:04
Speaker 2: I'm not a donutter Like, I'm not big on we had donuts brought in yesterday. I'm like, eh, you know, yes.

00:06:12
Speaker 8: Dodd, I don't think you're going to the right donut puster, Like if there's a Krispy Kreme. There are some donut shops that are like there to take that real seriously, some'mores donuts and apple forter donuts there's like fifty different types of donuts in some of these places.

00:06:25
Speaker 2: I remember when Krispy Kream opened up a store and people went crazy crazy, and I went, what are you doing?

00:06:33
Speaker 7: There were lines like miles long waiting to get into Krispy Kreme to get a box of donuts.

00:06:38
Speaker 2: I know, crazy, Yes, you.

00:06:40
Speaker 4: Know what's signed.

00:06:40
Speaker 8: They didn't say next to Krispy kreame come join us for breakfast and have some donuts. I'm pretty sure they would say we're open six or ten am for breakfast. Here's the donuts. It's just Krispy Cream donuts.

00:06:50
Speaker 4: I got it.

00:06:51
Speaker 2: You fired up today man with your donuts.

00:06:54
Speaker 10: Yeah.

00:06:55
Speaker 2: I'm not big on but if I'm going to grab I have half a one. But then it drives Pauli crazy because if I cut it in half and then it'll be like, just take the whole thing, take it with you, and I go, I don't want the whole thing. Then I'll eat the whole thing. Any other questions, any other pole questions, any other thoughts before we get Oh, I mentioned this yesterday. I come in and I say to Paulie, I said, hey, I don't know if you know Charles Barkley's got an interesting job during March Madness, So I don't tell Paul, go through the entire show, and Paul sends me an email and he goes, hey, by the way, Charles Barkley is going to be working with Dick vy Tal. He's going to be doing one of the first four games on True TV, And I go, damn it. I was going to tell you that he was going to do this with Dicky V and Brian Anderson. So Charles is going to do a game with Dick EV and that'll be great. It'll be awesome, baby, True TV. That'll be that opening Tuesday of the NCAA tournament.

00:07:58
Speaker 4: Yes, huh? Which is it?

00:08:00
Speaker 8: Because Dick Bytel always sys everything is awesome and Barkley always says everything is terrible, like to Frank Kellendo's impression.

00:08:05
Speaker 4: So you got awesome and terrible. The dichotomy is fascinating.

00:08:08
Speaker 11: Right, Uh.

00:08:09
Speaker 2: So Charles got a fun gig there, that'd be interesting to hear him do a game and let me see is there anything else that needs to be mentioned? And we'll play the Reclamation Project game. So the idea is to choose the quarterback who will have the most success with the team that didn't draft him heading into next season. Okay, so that's a player who has already improved but can still have more of an upward trajectory. Now, Daniel Jones said to be a free agent or well ish, but I think he I'm not going to put him in the game. Okay, Malik Willis, I'll put him in the game. Kyler Murray and Tua they'll be in the game. So Kyler Murray, Malik Willis. See Mac Jones isn't available, but he could be. He could be. We'll put him in to Anthony Richardson, Davis Mills, spent, Spencer Rattler, Tanner McKee who was in Bad News Bears. I think no, No, he wasn't. Sounds like not the Joe Milton. Joe Milton.

00:09:20
Speaker 7: So I'm literally looking at Joe Milton right now to see where where is he gonna fall in this because I am taking him first.

00:09:25
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, Uh, how about we use arm length. That'll be who goes first here? Yes, Paul is Aaron Rodgers available in this draft? Is he a free agent?

00:09:39
Speaker 10: Yes?

00:09:39
Speaker 5: I think.

00:09:41
Speaker 7: I think he would be in this draft, all right? See reclamation project worthy though.

00:09:49
Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna I'm gonna rule no, I'm gonna say no that he is not a reclamation project. These other ones are. He's a squeak one more year out of them. Yeah, project, that's all. That's just a farewell tour. Kyler Murray, Malik Willis, mac Jones to Anthony Richardson, Davis Mills, Spencer Rattler, Tanner McKee and he's the Eagles backup quarterback. And Joe Milton. All right, we have to throw another one in there because there's five of us and we're gonna have so can he picket will Levis, Trey Lance, Zac Wilson. So it's a two round draft. The shortest arms Todd. Let's see PAULI year for all. Yeah, Paul, you go first, man.

00:10:40
Speaker 6: I don't think they're gonna let mac Jones go. I have to go with Malik Willis as my number one draft.

00:10:44
Speaker 5: All right.

00:10:45
Speaker 2: Next on the list would be that would be Seaton at four for four.

00:10:50
Speaker 7: I am taking Joseph Joe Milton because I love that dude.

00:10:56
Speaker 2: That brings us to the massively long armed Fritzy.

00:11:00
Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Trey Lance.

00:11:03
Speaker 8: Yeah, I think there's still something about him that we haven't heard the last of Trey Lance and his ability is under centered.

00:11:10
Speaker 7: Hey, yes, Paul, is Russell Wilson on the board. If you want to put him on the board, I just check him. You can get Zach Wilson, not Russell.

00:11:19
Speaker 2: Who would you rather have. I'm gonna take Kyler, Murray Junior, the third, now the incredibly long armed Marvin Prince, Zach Wilson. Then it comes back to me. I am going to go with two a tonga Iloa.

00:11:41
Speaker 7: Next up TOAs if it's a snake draft does does at Marvin pick twice?

00:11:47
Speaker 8: Oh?

00:11:49
Speaker 2: Ooops?

00:11:49
Speaker 7: Yeah, so sorry, Dan, you have to give that pick?

00:11:51
Speaker 2: Okay, I give that picka Oh no, you can keep yours. Oh you don't want to wow, Okay, I'm going Spencer Atler. Okay, Todd, I'm.

00:12:04
Speaker 8: Gonna grab Anthony Richardson, Okay, Paul, I'm gonna go with Gardener.

00:12:11
Speaker 7: No, it's Seaton, it's Seaton. I'm gonna go with Gardener. I'll take mac Jones. We don't know if he's going to be available. We don't know if he's but that's someone's going you're betting on him Paul.

00:12:26
Speaker 6: I'm having to go with Gardner Minshew with the Chiefs.

00:12:28
Speaker 2: Okay, anybody interesting who didn't get selected. Davis Mills is pretty good, Will Levis, Yeah, Will Levis, Kenny Pickett, Sam Howell, Ow Tanner McKee to no one did. When we're Stanford quarterback, I mean there's enough for one more round. No, no, no, I'm good. I'm good. Who is going to be this year's Sam Darnold?

00:12:57
Speaker 7: Who is going My money is on none of them?

00:13:01
Speaker 2: Well, you'd have to win the super Bowl, right exactly?

00:13:05
Speaker 7: Yeah.

00:13:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, And maybe that's not fair to say who's going to be this year Sam Donald? Because any of these guys going to be a Super Bowl winning quarterback? And the answer would be no.

00:13:15
Speaker 7: Hey, this year's Indiana. They did well?

00:13:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, Indiana was this year's Indiana.

00:13:21
Speaker 11: Yeah?

00:13:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, Sam Donald's going to be this year Sam Donald. Yes, Marvin, I was only.

00:13:26
Speaker 3: Going off of Sam Donald with the vikings, like, you know what, he'll be a Pro Bowl player, have a really good year. I wasn't thinking about winning the super Bowl because if that's the case, I didn't want any part of this draft.

00:13:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's the thing. You can't say. It's the Sam Donald Award because Sam won a Super Bowl. If this was Sam Donald in Minnesota or Baker Mayfield in Tampa, then that would be different. But yeah, the super Bowl attachment there, that's a pretty lofty goal. Scott in Scottsdale, Hi, Scott in Scottsdale.

00:13:57
Speaker 10: Hey, Jan, I'm doing well, thank you. Regarding the Kyler Murray situation, I'm conflicted. On one hand, his time, like Florida stated, when they entered that language into the contract, the ship sailed on him. He was gone and they should have got peak value.

00:14:11
Speaker 11: At that point.

00:14:12
Speaker 10: Now we're left with nothing and basically with Bidwell being at the helm, we're the Jets of the West at this point. I don't see anybody walking into this. You know, it's good in terms of taxation and the money you saved going to higher price areas like New York, California and such. But you've got a really tough time to swaying somebody unless you pay him a lot of money. And with the hit they're taking, I don't know how you're going to do that.

00:14:36
Speaker 2: And I could really quickly.

00:14:38
Speaker 10: You talked about basketball camp yesterday or today's brother and Rick Barry yesterday, not for nothing. My parents sent me to Rick Berry's coaching camp. It's a NOMA statement in the late seventies when I was a kid, and I got booted about the fourth day because I wouldn't change the shirt I had onto one that represented his camp logo, and that didn't go over too well.

00:15:00
Speaker 2: You got kicked out of camp. Yeah.

00:15:03
Speaker 10: Well, what happens is at the end of the camp, he comes in the beginning, welcomes everybody in, and at the end he comes back and he takes a polaroid with you. Yeah, that's how old I am at this point. So I went to another camp earlier in the year called Santa Clair Coaching Camp, and I chose to wear that shirt. And they said, who is this kid? Where's his proper shirt? And I said, listen, my parents pailess camp. I can wear the hell I want now. Obviously I was way over my head and should have been a little more respectful.

00:15:32
Speaker 4: But that didn't fly.

00:15:33
Speaker 11: Next thing, you know, I was taking myself all right.

00:15:37
Speaker 2: Uh, thank you, Scott. I think we got most of that. Yeah, Rick Barry, if you watch the documentary, he tough. He was tough on everybody, but a great player, great player, all right, we'll take a break. More phone calls coming up. We're back after this Dan Patrick Show.

00:16:00
Speaker 1: Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

00:16:10
Speaker 5: Hey, it's Rob Parker and Calvin Washington from The Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio.

00:16:14
Speaker 12: And in addition to hearing us live weeknights from seven to ten pm Eastern on Fox Sports Radio, we are excited to announce brand new YouTube channel for the show.

00:16:24
Speaker 1: That's right, you can now watch The Odd Couple live on YouTube every day.

00:16:30
Speaker 12: All you gotta do search Odd Couple FSR on YouTube. Again YouTube, Just search Odd Couple FSR. Check us out on YouTube and subscribe.

00:16:40
Speaker 2: Pretty cool moment last night NBC and Peacock they had a NBA throwback night, Doug Collins back.

00:16:48
Speaker 5: That was great.

00:16:50
Speaker 2: They had you know, clips of you know, previous broadcasters who've worked for NBC. Hannah Storm, pat Riley there, Bob Costas was there. Know, they've had Marv I mean down through the years, Isaiah Thomas was there. That they're showing you all these clips, all the different incarnations of broadcast teams that they've had, but it was nice. And Bob Costas still brings it. Man, he's still got his fastball. He's still you see him. Man, he reminds you that he did it at a different level. Yeah, Pauling, it felt.

00:17:24
Speaker 6: Like throwback jerseys, but a basketball game. They used the old logos, the old graphics, the old music. Yeah, it was very very late eighties nineties Field.

00:17:33
Speaker 2: I did mention then, well, the Danets have asked me what I'm going to do with the man Cave and when they leave, can they each take something? And I said no, because this is a museum. If you work at you know, the Museum of Modern Art, you don't get to walk out with something. You don't get to work in the Louver and walk out with something, although I think some people at the Louver did walk out with something. But no, I'm going to make it a museum. Maybe maybe set up a bread and breakfast here where you could come and spend the weekend and you could enjoy the man Cave, play basketball, we could grill, you could sit behind the microphone, you could have your your family out there. They could play the role of dan Etes. You know, we could have some fun with this.

00:18:15
Speaker 4: Yes, to no auction.

00:18:17
Speaker 8: One of those guys you know, and sold for the NBA pinball machine for seventy out liners.

00:18:23
Speaker 4: You don't want to do that. We got a little silent auction movie.

00:18:26
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:18:26
Speaker 2: I wish you would that or didn't I Paulie said that somebody reached out. Now, is this an offer to buy my man cave when I retire? I think the tires are being kicked. But this is a real person who works in the media slash collectibles industry, and they said they'd be interesting buying the building, just handing over the keys. They get everything in it.

00:18:47
Speaker 7: So Darren Revel no names. He's the only person who works in that industry. That's a that's a one person industry. In negotiations, you try to protect people, all right, So Darren Revel runs collect Okay, he's curious to be shocked at how dirty all of our chairs are.

00:19:02
Speaker 2: By the way, Yes, oh he didn't want the chairs.

00:19:04
Speaker 7: The chairs are discussing they are they really are?

00:19:07
Speaker 6: We need a chair partner.

00:19:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's when you know, we'd have a meat Friday and then nobody had a napkin, so they just wipe stuff on the earth.

00:19:13
Speaker 7: You want to make a billion dollars tomorrow. Make a napkin chair. Everybody uses their chairs a.

00:19:20
Speaker 6: Roll of paper towels connected to a chair.

00:19:22
Speaker 2: Right, okay, so what's the offer pulling?

00:19:25
Speaker 6: This would be like if someone's buying the house and they want it furnished. They want the keys, all the production facilities, the cameras, everything, damn all the lights, and all the memorabilia, and they will decide what they'll do with the memorabilia. All right now, you would have to come up with a number.

00:19:42
Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm not negotiating. I want them to tell me what they'd pay.

00:19:45
Speaker 6: Here you go.

00:19:45
Speaker 2: I'm not negotiating against myself.

00:19:48
Speaker 6: But it is a semi real conversation.

00:19:51
Speaker 2: Well, there's a lot of really valuable items in here, but there's also a lot of items that aren't valuable at all. And I'm looking at him right now, let's sell me.

00:20:03
Speaker 4: Even as a joke, I gotta tell you, I'm upset with that.

00:20:07
Speaker 2: Are you still upset from yesterday?

00:20:11
Speaker 4: I'm a very sensitive time.

00:20:13
Speaker 8: He mentioned it a few times over the past weeks, so that it's stung a little bit because it wasn't the first time of the Todd.

00:20:19
Speaker 2: Finish choice unbelievable. It was unbelievably stealth by Seatan, because Satan's usual is your you know, biggest proponent. I mean, he's your cheerleader.

00:20:29
Speaker 4: The worst part is.

00:20:30
Speaker 8: You guys were talking about, like, you know, those songs as power ballads, and I was so but because I was in a crummy mood, I decided to lay out and I had opportunities to like sing a little bit, and I just sat there and Seatan thankfully took the role of.

00:20:44
Speaker 4: Caing some of those songs.

00:20:44
Speaker 2: Can't you just laugh? Can't you just go? You're a guy who tries to make people laugh, and you can be critical in your humor, but when somebody is critical to you, you can't laugh.

00:20:57
Speaker 4: Very sad and immature you were thinking of for a fifty six year old men. You know, you can get over it a little bit.

00:21:02
Speaker 2: But we were talking. Everybody's talking, and then Todd brought it back to him, and that's when Seaton said, you know, you know, oh, it's been too long since the topic wasn't you know, centered around You're talking.

00:21:17
Speaker 7: About Marvin too long? So Todd you have to bring it back the focus and I of it.

00:21:21
Speaker 8: It wasn't horrible at all. It was very playful, but because there was like a theme I felt over the past several weeks. There was a few other mentions of like the Todd Fritz Show, and for whatever reason, at that moment, I was like, I think I had enough of that, and I'm gonna be pouty and sit quietly.

00:21:33
Speaker 2: And I'm like, yeah, I mean, you're you're not doing your job.

00:21:36
Speaker 6: But now I said it's immature. I'm done professional too.

00:21:39
Speaker 2: I guess you know some I have friends who are funny people, but they're not They can't laugh at themselves, and I'm always amazed at that that they have essential humor towards other things and other people, they just don't have one with themselves, and you fall into that kind of you know what, Let's be thankful.

00:21:57
Speaker 4: This is just a sports talk show.

00:21:58
Speaker 8: Imagine if I was a surgeon and I'm like, and all of a sudden, someone I hurt my feelings one of the nurses.

00:22:01
Speaker 4: I'm leaving. No, we need you to finish this cranium. You gotta put the thing. No, I'm out. I don't like we just said cranium in the middle of brain surgeon.

00:22:08
Speaker 8: I just walked out in the middle, because I appreciate what one of the positions assistant sent to me.

00:22:12
Speaker 2: You were sad. He was sad yesterday.

00:22:15
Speaker 7: I actually I felt bad too. I was like, oh man, I really I might have I flew a little too close to the sun or whatever on that one. It's a little stung, a little too much.

00:22:24
Speaker 5: Maybe.

00:22:24
Speaker 11: Yeah.

00:22:24
Speaker 2: Even the big germans said, do you think Seaton will apologize?

00:22:27
Speaker 7: And I go, I hope not.

00:22:29
Speaker 6: He actually did, yeah, apologies and gave me a hug too.

00:22:32
Speaker 2: I wouldn't have done that.

00:22:33
Speaker 7: I actually just sort of I realized, like I'm sorry, just forced them into the hug. I really didn't give him a chance.

00:22:38
Speaker 4: I certainly didn't reciprocate because I was in no more he was.

00:22:41
Speaker 2: It seems to be a theme, kept his arms seems to be a little bit of a theme.

00:22:45
Speaker 9: Exactly.

00:22:45
Speaker 8: There was a lot of meat sitting in the kitchen, so if I rallied, I felt a lot better.

00:22:49
Speaker 2: Sing all the different but you quietly eat steak. Yesterday you had two plates.

00:22:55
Speaker 4: You went corner.

00:22:57
Speaker 2: We had our sales team up here, we had a client up here.

00:23:02
Speaker 4: I said, hiding the clients. I was respectful.

00:23:04
Speaker 2: You didn't say anything.

00:23:06
Speaker 4: I just wanted to quiet eat my meat.

00:23:08
Speaker 8: I had a can of limonade, and then I had a second plate to meet, and I was fine in my corner.

00:23:13
Speaker 4: What a baby, I know.

00:23:14
Speaker 7: Yeah, let's talk about all the fun things I did during the meeting, Dan, Yeah, the other things that I did in the meeting.

00:23:20
Speaker 4: I thought I was really fun the meeting.

00:23:23
Speaker 6: Yes, Paul, it felt more real than normal. The back room reported back to me that Todd dipped towards the back room at one point and said, I'm staying back here.

00:23:33
Speaker 2: Okay, scale of one to ten, how much did that sting?

00:23:37
Speaker 4: I not sting is the accurate word, but did what? What did?

00:23:40
Speaker 2: How real? How real? One to ten?

00:23:42
Speaker 4: I would say seven point two. Oh no, I've been a lot more upset about things over the years than that. That's why you can't give it anything.

00:23:51
Speaker 2: Let's go through all.

00:23:53
Speaker 4: Let's twenty plus y go through. I gave you.

00:23:55
Speaker 2: I gave you your own podcast, Tod.

00:24:00
Speaker 8: That means I can never be sad or upset or anything like that. I just got to be happy as a pig. And you know what, I love doing the podcast. But at that moment, you know, we all have feelings, and at that moment.

00:24:10
Speaker 4: It bothered me a little bit. So what am I supposed to pretend?

00:24:13
Speaker 5: Boy?

00:24:13
Speaker 6: It was a great line?

00:24:15
Speaker 2: Was I wasn't sure it was accurate?

00:24:18
Speaker 6: It was.

00:24:19
Speaker 2: It was one of those that it was the truth and true. Yes, yes, yeah, that was that was true. Tit a great.

00:24:27
Speaker 4: Line the first third or fifth time that was brought up. That's what you have to kind of decide. That's why I got upset.

00:24:32
Speaker 7: Well, let's see how it goes seven through ten, because they're coming.

00:24:35
Speaker 2: Yeah for sure, yes, grow up.

00:24:40
Speaker 6: You're totally right though. Fake criticism doesn't hurt if it's not based in reality, like you shake it off because it's not true.

00:24:46
Speaker 2: And then I thought Team team Building, the big German was going to take everybody out for lunch and it was going to be all you can eat sushi.

00:24:54
Speaker 7: Today, I've never heard of that all you can eat sushi? Yes, Is it on a conveyor belt. I don't think that one is now. I have done conveyor belt sushi.

00:25:06
Speaker 2: It just comes by and you're like, oh yes, and I'll bet that you make you eat more by the fact that it just comes by. You don't. You can order things, but they have the conveyor belt and you just go, oh, there's a tuna, I'll take that one.

00:25:20
Speaker 8: Yes, I think you're on the clock though, like the NFL drift, it's all you can eat within like fifteen minutes before that present.

00:25:25
Speaker 2: It's not true, but the invitation has been extended to everybody backroom. Guys like to go to the all you can eat sushi. But if you guys would like to go, it's a team building. You don't have to have the all you can eat sushi. Maybe there's something else on the menu.

00:25:42
Speaker 7: And inviting everybody an hour before it kind of feels like an invitation.

00:25:45
Speaker 2: But no, no, no, it's been in the works. I think there's an email now, okay.

00:25:50
Speaker 8: Email read as a mandatory meeting to me anyway, I didn't even know there was an option of not going, but some sushi.

00:25:55
Speaker 2: One did you r SVP?

00:25:57
Speaker 4: I did not or SVP because again I read it as we'll see you, we're going to go over some stuff.

00:26:01
Speaker 2: You are going and you are going to build this team.

00:26:03
Speaker 8: I don't know who read that as like, if you feel like you're joining us, come on and have some solution.

00:26:07
Speaker 4: I did not read all right, you have the choice to not go I'm planning on going. I was planning on going all along.

00:26:13
Speaker 8: But I will say that it was read like we're all going to meet here, like you know, whether you like it or not, this is what you're doing after the show.

00:26:18
Speaker 4: That's how I read it.

00:26:20
Speaker 2: Ritchie in Wisconsin, Hi, Richie, what's on your mind?

00:26:24
Speaker 4: Hi Dannn.

00:26:25
Speaker 13: Thanks for taking my call. It's so funny just because I'm going to piggyback off the whole conversation that you just had. I listened to the toodcast the other day and I got to say, out of so many things that I've loved about your show through the years, I now understand.

00:26:42
Speaker 6: What you mean when you say cut it in half.

00:26:45
Speaker 13: Because between my wife and I and watching and listening to your show, like I said, for so many years, she said they should just call him Turbo.

00:26:56
Speaker 5: So it's Turbo Todd Fritz.

00:26:58
Speaker 11: I just thought i'd share that.

00:27:00
Speaker 6: It's just it's great.

00:27:01
Speaker 13: I love what you guys do, but it's a great addition or add on to enhance the whole DP show.

00:27:07
Speaker 2: All right, Well, thank you, Richie, And you're right. If we cut it in half, the podcast podcast would be about twenty two to twenty three minutes.

00:27:15
Speaker 8: Yes, time, I'd like to turm where I was just looking at the scene and we were like turbo that means a Kelly Ozone turbo And weren't that like the American Gladiators or the Break In two?

00:27:23
Speaker 4: Remember those are those breaking movies. It was Kelly Ozone and Turbo.

00:27:26
Speaker 6: They were doing the Breakdancer, the movie Break in nineteen eighty four.

00:27:29
Speaker 2: M No, miss yes you do no, no, no, I missed it.

00:27:33
Speaker 6: There's no stop in us, No one does it.

00:27:36
Speaker 4: But uh, you know what I'm talking.

00:27:38
Speaker 2: So the podcast is available at dan patrick dot com. When's your next one?

00:27:42
Speaker 8: That you're think we were going to do it today, but we have the mandatory sushi thing, so te't me today.

00:27:47
Speaker 4: So it might be tomorrow, it could be next week.

00:27:49
Speaker 8: Waiting for the next note from the big terminus to guess what your guys are doing in twelve fifteen.

00:27:54
Speaker 4: Wow, we will see you at Stratford or wherever we're doing it from some rest as right, all you can eat sushi. That's right that you're hading me at hello on that one.

00:28:09
Speaker 7: Yes, I don't know if there's a bad time, I'm sure a good time to do this, but I will at best be late to the mandatory sushi meeting. At best, at best I will be very late, okay, which or Aka might not make it because this is team building. It is team building. Yes, but I have a meeting that I am supposed to have yesterday that I had to push off because we had another mandatory meeting yesterday, and now I have to do this one today.

00:28:37
Speaker 2: Okay, how about to go sushi? Maybe you like you need to take out.

00:28:44
Speaker 7: I'm going to try to make it there asap, but it's definitely not at the required twelve fifteen.

00:28:50
Speaker 2: I think it's twelve thirty.

00:28:51
Speaker 7: Is it twelve thirty?

00:28:52
Speaker 2: Okay, yes, marmon.

00:28:53
Speaker 3: What's with all the new mandatory meetings? Are we trying to be like a real place? Yes, like a real work, yes, big yes, now, yes, we're gonna start being a real business. Two years to go, man.

00:29:09
Speaker 2: I said to the big german, I'm gonna leave it up to you. I need you to run this place. I'm too tired. So now he's got meetings, he's got you know, big billboards here with all the stuff that we're doing, and side, he's got everything. I think he's going to do a time clock too, wipe car. Yes, yes, yes, Marvin, are we gonna have like a real HR now o God, it's well probably closer to it, yeah than I was HR. But yeah, and you're retiring. Yes, so, yes, the big german is probably HR. He's got a title. I mean, like, I don't know what the title is, but he's kind of running the whole place here, and he's taking care of the back room guys. Everybody got to answer to the big german. You got to come in, You got to say hello every morning. Yes, Tom, not a little.

00:30:04
Speaker 8: Bit of a power trick like the justify your title guy, and no one likes to justify your title guy.

00:30:08
Speaker 4: I'm going to have a meeting just to say out a meeting. I got to meet up there. I guess I'm in charge, David said, I must have to. I guess we have that mandatory meeting.

00:30:14
Speaker 2: Eric in Tucson, Hi, Eric, what's on your mind?

00:30:19
Speaker 11: Good morning, Dan.

00:30:20
Speaker 9: Hey, I'm looking for a judgment from the sports judge, if you are willing to offer one this morning, Yes, sir, so, ballroom are a.

00:30:32
Speaker 11: Barroom discussion rather not ballroom. The backup quarterback starting quarterback dynamic of a right handed versus left handed quarterback, and I'm gonna go to Atlanta Michael Panics and Tua being a natural fit because of the way that offenses are set up and how important it is. I contend it is very important. Buddies contend it's really no big deal, because you know they're professor. However, my point is is that all of a sudden, your blind side tackle with the left handed quarterback is your right tackle. Your blind side tackle with a right handed quarterback is your left tackle. You have a backup that is opposite handed. All of a sudden, your entire offense flips.

00:31:20
Speaker 2: And I think there's validity in the absolutely Eric.

00:31:24
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:31:26
Speaker 2: Does that mean Atlanta is going to bring into it so they can keep with the left handed theme?

00:31:31
Speaker 4: Maybe?

00:31:33
Speaker 6: Yeah, Pauline, there was an article quite a few years ago in The Athletic that said some offensive coordinators lean against having a left handed quarterback on the roster for just those reasons. Now, if you're a star, if you're Steve Young, you know people will turn.

00:31:46
Speaker 2: The other cheek or the other arm. Yeah, let's see anything else that needs to be mentioned here. We take a break here, all right, take a break. Last call for phone calls? What we learn what's in store tomorrow. We're back after this.

00:32:01
Speaker 1: Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to listen live. Last call for phone calls. What we learned, What's in store tomorrow? Went back and talked to the big German.

00:32:19
Speaker 2: Since it's a team building luncheon coming up, it is this is sort of like our OTA's. It's not mandatory, but you should show up and it's all you can eat sushi. And he's not thrilled with you. Todd is not Yeah, he's only been on the job for a couple of days with his new title, and he said, all right, well when we do Todd's review yearly review.

00:32:44
Speaker 8: Yes, yeah, don't you hate sentence people that get upset over a little gets standing around there.

00:32:49
Speaker 2: And Seaton said that a sharp member of the audience did point out that Marvin is concerned about HR now that he's flipped off the camera. But did you do this before the big German took over as the guy in charge of the man cave? Because he's now HR. I think it's just a happy coincidence. Yeah, well we'll not maybe not happy, but it might. It might come up at the team building only you can eat sushi. Just letting you know he's got an agenda. He's got he's got like a power point that'll be coming up. Nothing like a It's not mandatory, but please show up, Tommy and Madison. By Tommy, what's on your mind?

00:33:37
Speaker 14: Hey Dan, I just wanted to share a morning Marvin Bird to everyone out there and the mandatory meeting today. I'm sorry to say I won't be able to make it. They are handing out pink slits, but I'm not going to be able to make I know it's mandatory. I'm going to be working on my mandatory sushi T shirt instead. So good luck today, guys.

00:33:57
Speaker 2: Thank you. Tommy Seaton Fighter. On results of the poll.

00:34:01
Speaker 7: Question, dude, there are many, many marriage a lot of Kyler Murray poll questions. As a matter of fact, let's run through them, shall we? Okay, what kind of quarterback is Kyler Murray?

00:34:11
Speaker 9: Good? Very good?

00:34:12
Speaker 7: Average, stay away right now? Average has about fifty three percent of that vote, followed by stay away. Those are the two big vote getters from Marvin the player you wish you would that had done more with their talent, Michael Vick running away with that one whose best years are still ahead of them, Kyler or Tua. Kyler's got seventy five percent of that vote. There might be a few more in there that I'm just not seeing right now. This day, no, oh is Kyler starting quarterback in the NFL? Fifty three percent say yes.

00:34:39
Speaker 6: This day in sports history, nineteen thirteen, Dan the New York Yankees travel to Bermuda for spring training. First team to leave the country the US to train. Nineteen ninety three, ESPN formed the v Foundation with Jimmy Valvano, and in nineteen ninety three, same day in New York, the very first SB Awards were held. Were you at that one?

00:34:59
Speaker 4: Yes?

00:35:00
Speaker 9: Three?

00:35:01
Speaker 10: Yes?

00:35:03
Speaker 4: Yeah?

00:35:06
Speaker 2: Did Michael Jordan win the sp that year?

00:35:08
Speaker 9: No?

00:35:09
Speaker 7: That was the following year. I think Jordan won that. Okay, first one New York ninety three with Jimmy v Speech was Norm McDonald hosting. That was a couple of years later, was Dennis Miller hosting.

00:35:21
Speaker 5: Is that right?

00:35:22
Speaker 4: Dennis Miller was the host of that.

00:35:24
Speaker 2: I had a lot of fun and once again I when we were like we're going to hand out our own awards. I go, let's not do this. And there were times when we couldn't get players coaches to show up, and then you had to entice them to show up, like you can't hand out an award, and then that person and then the person who finished second not showing up, and then it felt like who's showing up?

00:35:51
Speaker 10: All right?

00:35:51
Speaker 2: You get an sp It was just a little disorganized to begin with because we didn't really know what we're not in the business of an award show. But Jimmy V's speech and you know, there's not a dry eye in the house when he did that, and you're just kind of sitting there and he was unbelievable that night. Yeah, it was just and they were trying to wrap him up. They were like, all right, okay, like that's where somebody's not listening to what Jimmy V Is saying. They're like, all right, time wise, come on, let's come on wrap it up here, And then Jimmy V, even in Italian, says something, oh yeah, you want me to wrap it up? You know, But wow, that's I've been around a lot of great moments, important moments, but you talk about a powerful moment that is really, really high on the list because he's dying. He knows he's dying, but he wanted to make sure that he got his message out. It's just like Stuart Scott did at the SP's Craig Sager did at the SPS. Stuart knew he was dying, but like in your mind, you're not accepting that. But he knew he was dying. It's he just didn't want to present himself as somebody who was dying. And Jimmy V the same way. And that speech that will live on. Hopefully one day we don't have to play it because we've cured cancer, but in not in my lifetime, we'll be hearing Jimmy V. And it's a speech that resonates and people react to it and it's still great to hear. We're very fortunate to have had that. Let's see Rich in Ohio. Hi, Rich, what's on your mind today?

00:37:41
Speaker 10: Uh? Yeah, Dan, I just had a real quick cut question and a request.

00:37:45
Speaker 11: Is there any chance you guys could record the mandatory meeting today?

00:37:51
Speaker 10: Hmm?

00:37:53
Speaker 2: Well, the big german is human Resources, so he would have to approve, and then we'd have to get the all you can Eat Sushi manager to sign off on this, but I don't think we could do it live, but maybe we could show who was in attendance, where they sit, Maybe get like a feel of the team building lunch. I'll bring that up. We gotta we got to work on these phone calls, because I don't think it's the callers, it's it's popping and cracking in there a little bit.

00:38:24
Speaker 5: Marvin.

00:38:25
Speaker 2: Can you get some of your best people looking into it.

00:38:28
Speaker 4: I don't know about my best, but I'll get people in here work on it.

00:38:30
Speaker 2: How about you bring it up at the team building me.

00:38:33
Speaker 6: Now I'm the agenda.

00:38:34
Speaker 2: Who do we blame for the phone calls?

00:38:36
Speaker 7: First?

00:38:37
Speaker 2: Tyler? Maybe I don't know, but I can hear some. You know, there's some crackle in there that hasn't been there. Curt and Florida.

00:38:47
Speaker 7: I kind of wish that we all acted like we didn't hear it though, Kurt, what are you talking about?

00:38:52
Speaker 4: Dan?

00:38:52
Speaker 2: It sounds fine kurtin Florida. Hi Kurt, what's on your mind?

00:38:56
Speaker 10: Ahi?

00:38:57
Speaker 5: Dan? Thanks for taking my call. I had a fantastic idea, I think for you to finally get your sports Emmy and you guys brought up the Iditarod or a couple of months ago, I heard you talking about Jesse Holmes winning the race. But if you could cover the idea a Rod. Not this year because it starts this Saturday and there's no way you could prepare, But next year, I think that would put you over the top. It's such a great story. The dogs are absolutely amazing and they love to do this, which is what most people don't realize or can't even comprehend.

00:39:44
Speaker 2: Really well, I'd need a second source on that. If the dogs are really that happy and you can't do it this year, who's up for the idit a Rod next year? Twe heck, I know Paulie is fritzy.

00:40:03
Speaker 8: What if I make it about me once in a while, we thought the idea Todd and I'm the one that races the dogs and you guys all wave to be the look it's Todd's show, he's raising the dogs.

00:40:12
Speaker 7: We actually should do some type of thing with Todd and dogs called the Idita Todd and see how that goes.

00:40:19
Speaker 2: I know you are I know, and cold Weather.

00:40:23
Speaker 4: I have some fears.

00:40:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe we send somebody next year to the Idea Rod that is not going to put us over the top with the sports Semi. If I'm voting, I'd be like, how desperate are these guys to win a Sports Emmy? Just going around the room. See if we learn anything on the program, Todd, Yeah.

00:40:42
Speaker 8: Mike Floryer points out the Cardinals should have traded Kyler before feeling compector including stupid ass study clause in his contract.

00:40:49
Speaker 7: End quote, Satan, we have a human resources department. Yes, it's called the big German. Oh boy, he's called the big germ.

00:40:56
Speaker 2: Marvin.

00:40:57
Speaker 4: You might turn the studio into a bed and breakfast.

00:40:59
Speaker 6: Yes, Paul, oh Miami Ohio. Todd, what did I learn when a clause has to be put in your contract to study more?

00:41:05
Speaker 4: Kyler? Murray puts your desire to be great into question.

00:41:09
Speaker 2: Oh, have a great day. Everybody well, talked about the team building. All you can eat sushi tomorrow
