<v Speaker 1>At first, I'm thinking, well, cool, it's a bear. Might
<v Speaker 1>thinks some great you know, bears aren't that color. And
<v Speaker 1>it was shaggy, and I remember we were standing there
<v Speaker 1>looking at it, and my brain was going through all
<v Speaker 1>of the things and like, okay, it's not a bear,
<v Speaker 1>it's not this. And then I realized that it was
<v Speaker 1>at the spring and what it was doing was it
<v Speaker 1>was scooping its hands and cupping the water and bringing
<v Speaker 1>it up to its mouth. And that's what I was seeing.
<v Speaker 1>That was the motion that it was going through. We
<v Speaker 1>stood there, like twenty of us stood there for about
<v Speaker 1>like maybe twenty thirty seconds watching this thing. It stops
<v Speaker 1>and at this point, you know, because it's crouds downs.
<v Speaker 1>So that's why we think it's a bear. This thing
<v Speaker 1>stands up. It's interesting because we didn't see a neck.
<v Speaker 1>It's strange when you watch them move because because they
<v Speaker 1>don't really have a neck, they have to move their
<v Speaker 1>whole torso and that's what it did. It turned and
<v Speaker 1>looked over up at us, and then turned around and
<v Speaker 1>walked off into the thickets. The way this all kind
<v Speaker 1>of started for all of us was so on the weekend,
<v Speaker 1>my aunts, all of our parents. So it's all my
<v Speaker 1>first cousins and there now little culture. We call them
<v Speaker 1>our cousin brothers and cousins sisters, but there are our
<v Speaker 1>first cousins on our mother's side, and we were all
<v Speaker 1>there's like fifteen of us or so many of us
<v Speaker 1>up there with my grandma and our grandfather. And on
<v Speaker 1>the weekends, our parents would come up and they'd bring
<v Speaker 1>up They typically would bring up supplies and they would
<v Speaker 1>stay up there and have a cookout with us before
<v Speaker 1>they went back down the mountain. And this one weekend
<v Speaker 1>they were all up and I remember we had just
<v Speaker 1>got finished eating dinner and we had walked into this.
<v Speaker 1>So right next to the to the cabin was a
<v Speaker 1>shade house. So it's just an outdoor living space that
<v Speaker 1>we would use it in the evenings and just kind
<v Speaker 1>of have pally, bigger dinner. I was sitting in there
<v Speaker 1>with my cousins and I remember I was reading. I
<v Speaker 1>was reading, slipping through a book. Actually I think it
<v Speaker 1>might have been on the Wizard of Uz, but there
<v Speaker 1>was a book that I was flipping through and our
<v Speaker 1>cousin comes racing in in hysterics and talking in that
<v Speaker 1>like he was distantly related to us from one of
<v Speaker 1>my aunties who has a different grandfather than I, do
<v Speaker 1>you know? Yeah, So he comes racing in. Why is
<v Speaker 1>a ghost? Why does the sheet just babbling off a navajo?
<v Speaker 1>And I remember my grandma, grandfather and my aunties. They
<v Speaker 1>all go running to the door. They get over the
<v Speaker 1>limbs along they all stop and dead in their tracks
<v Speaker 1>right outside the door, and they're whispering at each other
<v Speaker 1>and they're kind of pointing at things and they just
<v Speaker 1>they just stop. But they're all talking in naba, and
<v Speaker 1>we see what they're seeing, and by this time we realize, okay, well,
<v Speaker 1>let's get out and see what's going on. I put
<v Speaker 1>the book down, walking out from behind, and I'm walking
<v Speaker 1>behind them and I'm looking down at our well. And
<v Speaker 1>at first I'm thinking, well, cool, it's a bear, my thinks,
<v Speaker 1>and great, you know this bears? Bears aren't that color?
<v Speaker 1>It's kind of that. You know, you've heard people talk
<v Speaker 1>about a battleship gray cutt of color. It was that color,
<v Speaker 1>and it was shaggy. This one in particularly was shaggy.
<v Speaker 1>And I remember we were standing there looking at it,
<v Speaker 1>and my brain was going through all of the things
<v Speaker 1>and like, okay, It's not a bear. It's not this,
<v Speaker 1>And then I'm like, how is it? I started realizing
<v Speaker 1>that because I couldn't figure out what it was doing
<v Speaker 1>was it was going through these motions. And then I
<v Speaker 1>realized that it was at the spring, and what it
<v Speaker 1>was doing was it was scooping its hands and cupping
<v Speaker 1>the water and bringing it up to its mouth. And
<v Speaker 1>that's what I was seeing. That was the motion that
<v Speaker 1>it was going through. We stood there, like twenty of
<v Speaker 1>us stood there for about like maybe twenty thirty seconds
<v Speaker 1>watching this thing. Could it had been longer? It seemed
<v Speaker 1>like forever. And my cousin yells down at it, Hey,
<v Speaker 1>what are you doing? It stops and at this point,
<v Speaker 1>you know, because it's it's crouds down, so that's going
<v Speaker 1>to be think it's a bear. The thing stands up,
<v Speaker 1>and it's interesting because we didn't see a neck and
<v Speaker 1>it's and and these creatures, it's it's strange when you
<v Speaker 1>watch them move because because they don't really have a neck,
<v Speaker 1>they have to move the whole torso and that's what
<v Speaker 1>it did. It turned and looked over up at us,
<v Speaker 1>and then turned around and walked off into the thickets.
<v Speaker 1>The cousin that had yelled down at it and myself
<v Speaker 1>we ran back into the cabin and hid underneath the bedroom.
<v Speaker 1>We're there for the whole night and half the next day.
<v Speaker 1>They're so terrified, and it was really interesting because nobody
<v Speaker 1>my grandparents had never talked about that. My grandma always
<v Speaker 1>would say to us about that area that like, so
<v Speaker 1>this creature walked back into what we called the thickets,
<v Speaker 1>and my grandma would always say, you guys, don't go
<v Speaker 1>into the thickets. There's wolves there, she would say, wolves.
<v Speaker 1>She scared us with the wolves, the timber wolves. They're
<v Speaker 1>going to come get you. But once we saw that
<v Speaker 1>thing walk down that direction, I'm like, well, that's what
<v Speaker 1>she was telling us, to stay away from that thing
<v Speaker 1>down there is going to get us.
<v Speaker 2>Did you ever see any wolves?
<v Speaker 1>No, no wolves at all. I was like, nothing at all.
<v Speaker 1>I just remember they that that was kind of like
<v Speaker 1>the Bookieyman for us. Does that makes sense, Yeah, for sure,
<v Speaker 1>like like kind of what they used to keep us
<v Speaker 1>in line because they wouldn't never talk about what we
<v Speaker 1>were seeing. That whole summer, these things kept coming around.
<v Speaker 1>There was more than one of them. There were several
<v Speaker 1>of them that had come around different colors. One my
<v Speaker 1>mom said that she saw one that was blonde color.
<v Speaker 1>I've seen a red one and there then there was
<v Speaker 1>this battleship kind a grayish colored one, and then there
<v Speaker 1>was a darker one. The darker one I think was
<v Speaker 1>actually like an adolescence because it would actually interact with us,
<v Speaker 1>and it was it would come in and kind of
<v Speaker 1>create trouble, if you will, Yeah, because it was it
<v Speaker 1>was It reminded me a lot of like a spider monkey,
<v Speaker 1>you know, how they're long and like there's not much
<v Speaker 1>to them, Yeah, but as tall as a man that
<v Speaker 1>like spider monkey ish.
<v Speaker 2>And was this primarily focused around that one summer?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, Oh my gosh, that whole summer of this. Yeah. Well,
<v Speaker 1>I've had many other encounters other than that, but this
<v Speaker 1>particular summer there were week I mean there were weeks
<v Speaker 1>of it. They just kept coming in.
<v Speaker 2>So something was going on.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I honestly feel like the reason what it is
<v Speaker 1>is they were curious and there was water there. We
<v Speaker 1>had a really good source of water, and you know,
<v Speaker 1>they're attracted to kids. And there were twelve of us,
<v Speaker 1>you know, twelve fifteen of us that were running around yeah,
<v Speaker 1>because I remember at times we would all be playing
<v Speaker 1>out in that meadow and one of us we'd all
<v Speaker 1>just stop. It was the weirdest thing. I remember. All
<v Speaker 1>thos were just we'd all stop, like freeze playing and
<v Speaker 1>we'd all turned in the same direction start looking up
<v Speaker 1>into the into the woods because like on one side
<v Speaker 1>of the meadow, where was this cliff face that was
<v Speaker 1>probably about to get twenty five feet up and they
<v Speaker 1>were trying to roast the trees in front of it
<v Speaker 1>and on top of it, so it kind of obscured
<v Speaker 1>what we could really see. But I remember we were
<v Speaker 1>all stop staring up, looking up into the trees, trying
<v Speaker 1>to figure out where it was at. And it's it's
<v Speaker 1>shocking how many of us have that ability to be
<v Speaker 1>able to identify the direction of where we're we're being
<v Speaker 1>looked at, you know. And so what we would do
<v Speaker 1>is we would hold our arms up and just kind
<v Speaker 1>of let it float until we and stop where we
<v Speaker 1>felt the eyes were coming from. And my cousins and
<v Speaker 1>I would do this, and you'd see about four or
<v Speaker 1>five of us doing this, and we'd all be flatings
<v Speaker 1>in the same direction. Wow, Like I said, like my
<v Speaker 1>parents never really said anything about it. My mom never
<v Speaker 1>said anything about it. It was really that same area
<v Speaker 1>where we were, where we were feeling. It was at
<v Speaker 1>that LEDs kind of eventually leads into our camp. So
<v Speaker 1>our camp had a we had a corral, okay, so
<v Speaker 1>if you're looking down on it kind of like a
<v Speaker 1>like a clock. At two o'clock would be the uh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>At two o'clock would be the cabin. Five o'clock is
<v Speaker 1>where the corral sat. At nine o'clock was an outdoor
<v Speaker 1>camp site, like an outdoor camp campfire. And at eight
<v Speaker 1>o'clock was we had an outdoor pantry. And then about
<v Speaker 1>ten eleven between ten up ten eleven o'clock is where
<v Speaker 1>the outhouse was in between kind of walking in between
<v Speaker 1>the two areas, so at this little camping area at
<v Speaker 1>the outdoor fire pit. So if we weren't inside, well,
<v Speaker 1>actually we never were really inside the cabin during the
<v Speaker 1>day because it was just so hot. So most of
<v Speaker 1>our living was out either out by this fire pit
<v Speaker 1>or over in that little shadehouse area that was next
<v Speaker 1>to the cabin. When my grandmother would be cooking, she
<v Speaker 1>would be up in the cabin or up in the
<v Speaker 1>shadehouse's where they are next to it, and that's where
<v Speaker 1>everybody was usually up. My cousins would be out there
<v Speaker 1>helping her out, and other cousins would be either chopping
<v Speaker 1>wood or doing things. May I have another this female
<v Speaker 1>cousin that's a couple of years older than me. Her
<v Speaker 1>and I were sitting in front of this fire pit
<v Speaker 1>alone and we hear this. I remember the fire was going.
<v Speaker 1>We had this blanket draped over the top of us,
<v Speaker 1>and it was just about us, like the sun has
<v Speaker 1>already gone down. You can still see into the forest
<v Speaker 1>pretty good, but there's no sunlight coming in anywhere. And
<v Speaker 1>her and I were talking about something when we started
<v Speaker 1>hearing this weird vocalization. It was a strange shattering that's
<v Speaker 1>the way. It kind of sounded like a record player
<v Speaker 1>being played backwards. It's kind of in that weird I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure I'm going to get crazy like It kind of
<v Speaker 1>reminded me a lot too of the Nawada languages of
<v Speaker 1>like like hope and mute sounds. It sounded a lot
<v Speaker 1>like that to me. Okay, so that that sound was
<v Speaker 1>coming from our two o'clock about twenty five yards away.
<v Speaker 1>This creature peeps out from behind it at us, and
<v Speaker 1>her and I both trees it then. To tell you
<v Speaker 1>the truth, I don't I don't know how it moved.
<v Speaker 1>I think that's what scared us the most is because
<v Speaker 1>when it moved, it's like moves in a way that
<v Speaker 1>I can't recall how it did it. It was so fast.
<v Speaker 1>So it went from like two to a ten o'clock
<v Speaker 1>in front of us, in front of another Plonderosa, made
<v Speaker 1>that weird language noise, and then peeked out at us
<v Speaker 1>again and looked at us for a second, and it
<v Speaker 1>did it again. It ran from it ran from that
<v Speaker 1>ten o'clock back over to the two o'clock. But as
<v Speaker 1>it was doing it was running closer to us, So
<v Speaker 1>from where it originally started, it now was probably a
<v Speaker 1>good ten to fifteen yards closer. But it kept making
<v Speaker 1>it kept talking to us as it was doing it,
<v Speaker 1>and it would peak out every time I'd run to
<v Speaker 1>another tree, it would peak out from behind it at us.
<v Speaker 2>But you never saw it going from between the trees.
<v Speaker 1>No, No, it like that's what I mean, like it
<v Speaker 1>move was moving so fast that I that we couldn't
<v Speaker 1>really perceive where it was even that it was even moving,
<v Speaker 1>And it was strange. Yeah, at some point it got
<v Speaker 1>close enough to us that one of us moved. I
<v Speaker 1>remember us both screaming and throwing the blanket down and
<v Speaker 1>running back up to the cabin, my sister recalls. She says, Oh,
<v Speaker 1>that's what you guys were screaming about. She remembers the day.
<v Speaker 1>She remembers us running back because she was up happy
<v Speaker 1>helping my grandma and remembers my cousin and I coming
<v Speaker 1>up to the running up to the house at the
<v Speaker 1>cabin screaming. Yeah. We didn't stay around to see what
<v Speaker 1>it was and it and I don't remember going back
<v Speaker 1>out that night to really be around, you know. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>We also have like this, uh so right next to
<v Speaker 1>that outdoor fire pit, my family had a I think
<v Speaker 1>it was an army issue where it was very old
<v Speaker 1>like h tandace white canvas tent. I think the peakid
<v Speaker 1>is probably about like six and a half feet or so,
<v Speaker 1>but it's for all the young kids, well, all the
<v Speaker 1>children we would sleep outside at night there. My grandma
<v Speaker 1>usually slept up in the cabin. So the way we
<v Speaker 1>had it situated is that the two oldest kids, so
<v Speaker 1>being my older brother and my eldest cousin would both
<v Speaker 1>be sleeping at the doorway, and then on the perimeter
<v Speaker 1>we're all the older, older kids, so that put me
<v Speaker 1>in the back left corner, and then my youngest brothers
<v Speaker 1>and sisters and cousins were in the middle, like the
<v Speaker 1>caybor in the center of all of us. And that's
<v Speaker 1>just kind of how we you know that that was
<v Speaker 1>our sleeping arrangement. And my cousin who lived the cousin
<v Speaker 1>who thought it was a bear. I remember one night
<v Speaker 1>waking up because he's sitting there jabbing into me. I
<v Speaker 1>think it's just because the way things like this happen
<v Speaker 1>in our family that we don't say anything when somebody's
<v Speaker 1>doing that, Like we don't go, ah, what are you doing?
<v Speaker 1>You know, typically when anybody's poking at us like that,
<v Speaker 1>we'll wake up and just kind of look and see
<v Speaker 1>what's going on, because stuff like this happens to us
<v Speaker 1>all the time. So my cousin's poking at me, and
<v Speaker 1>I look over at them, and I can see him
<v Speaker 1>motioning underneath his blankets up up like towards the door,
<v Speaker 1>like frantically pull pointing at toward the door, and I
<v Speaker 1>look up and I'm like, oh, uh, there's this shadow.
<v Speaker 1>It's standing on the other side of the tents looking
<v Speaker 1>down at it, you know, like the moon is up
<v Speaker 1>and the moon's casting a shadow at it. And come
<v Speaker 1>to think of that, at one point, we couldn't tell.
<v Speaker 1>There was one point I was never to think about it.
<v Speaker 1>I think at one point we saw one one time
<v Speaker 1>and we couldn't tell what it was doing, and it
<v Speaker 1>looked like it was eating something, you know, like you
<v Speaker 1>put an apple up to your face and just be
<v Speaker 1>chewing on it. Yeah. Yeah, But that night I remember
<v Speaker 1>seeing this thing standing there and it was big and
<v Speaker 1>like a little kid. You know, if they can't see me,
<v Speaker 1>if I can't see it, if they can't see me,
<v Speaker 1>I can't see it. Yeah, I I you know, I
<v Speaker 1>pulled the blankets back up over my head because I
<v Speaker 1>didn't know what else. Just do you know, like my
<v Speaker 1>grandmother had what was see like that went on and
<v Speaker 1>then I remember another time my cousin and our aunt
<v Speaker 1>had gone out to her seat, and when they came back,
<v Speaker 1>she was he's a federal officer now and won't talk
<v Speaker 1>about it, but back when he would talk about it,
<v Speaker 1>when when we were younger, I did ask him, well,
<v Speaker 1>what is it the guy saw? And I said, I
<v Speaker 1>remember you telling me about it, but can you remind
<v Speaker 1>me of what you saw? They had sat down, they
<v Speaker 1>were a few miles away from camp, and they had
<v Speaker 1>sat down to take a break, and I think they
<v Speaker 1>were you know, she had a renas of coffee and
<v Speaker 1>they were sitting there drinking the coffee. And this woman
<v Speaker 1>was tough his nails, and she was somebody that we
<v Speaker 1>always felt very comfortable being around. And nobody's going to
<v Speaker 1>get us if Antiva was with us, you know kind
<v Speaker 1>of thing. Right, She was terrified because they he said,
<v Speaker 1>we looked up and going up the side of this hill.
<v Speaker 1>He says it was this creature and he says it
<v Speaker 1>was just he said it was on alf Wars. But
<v Speaker 1>but the way it was running and the way he
<v Speaker 1>like with motion is kind of like putting your hands
<v Speaker 1>up and like scooping down almost, you know, up and
<v Speaker 1>then down. He said, it was moving so fast that
<v Speaker 1>you really couldn't see its legs. But it was running
<v Speaker 1>up this hill. And May was terrified, and it was
<v Speaker 1>shocking to us to hear that she got that scared,
<v Speaker 1>you know. So somewhere along those lines, we had a
<v Speaker 1>couple of weeks in we had a sheep go missing.
<v Speaker 1>I ran so h with that, you know, because I
<v Speaker 1>get I don't know who to account of the merry manning,
<v Speaker 1>because I think May did, but one of them was missing.
<v Speaker 2>From the corral or whenever they were like out grazing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well, like I don't know where she counted them.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if it was in the morning or
<v Speaker 1>at night when they came back in or but I
<v Speaker 1>remember them saying that a ram was missing. And my
<v Speaker 1>uncle was there with this truck. He piled all this
<v Speaker 1>younger kids into the back of his truck and we
<v Speaker 1>went from our camp to like up the road and
<v Speaker 1>over to another camp and asked them if they had
<v Speaker 1>seen their sheep, if they had had an extra ram
<v Speaker 1>that'd come in with their sheep. And so we were
<v Speaker 1>doing this, going through different camp sites, and my oldest
<v Speaker 1>cousins and my oldest brother were sent into the forest
<v Speaker 1>to kind of go look, you know. I was the
<v Speaker 1>younger ones, and it want us out. I think I
<v Speaker 1>was like seven. I remember my brother and them were
<v Speaker 1>in she was eleven. They were all like eleven ten there.
<v Speaker 1>So they were all walking through the forest and we
<v Speaker 1>kind of them out of the main out to the
<v Speaker 1>main road, and we're driving towards the lake and my
<v Speaker 1>brother cousins I'm screeching out of the woods and are
<v Speaker 1>racing at us. And I have never seen anybody ever
<v Speaker 1>do this before. My brother leapt into the back of
<v Speaker 1>the truck. Didn't touch like the weird wheep, the wheel well,
<v Speaker 1>or even the side. He just jumped into the back
<v Speaker 1>of the truck. Yeah, I clearly remember doing that. And
<v Speaker 1>once we calmed them down, we were like, okay, okay,
<v Speaker 1>what happened. They they were kind of like kind of
<v Speaker 1>stanned out. They were in a line that like several
<v Speaker 1>yards away from each other, walking in towards the direction
<v Speaker 1>of the river or the lake. When behind one of
<v Speaker 1>the trees, outsteps one of these creatures and it starts
<v Speaker 1>walking towards them. So they turn around and they start
<v Speaker 1>walking away from it. And as they start working faster,
<v Speaker 1>it starts like, you know, it's chasing them, but they
<v Speaker 1>don't know that, and they start screaming and running and
<v Speaker 1>they're tripping over themselves. But that's why they came racing
<v Speaker 1>out of the woods, because this thing was because one
<v Speaker 1>of them is following them.
<v Speaker 2>And do you remember if it was the same color
<v Speaker 2>as the one at the well or was it a
<v Speaker 2>different one.
<v Speaker 1>I don't remember what color they said. I think that
<v Speaker 1>one was actually a different one from the well now
<v Speaker 1>that I remember it, because I remember the one down
<v Speaker 1>at the well was that battleship gray color. But there
<v Speaker 1>was also another one there that was kind of a
<v Speaker 1>I want to say, a sandy brown color, maybe a
<v Speaker 1>little darker than that, not quite blonde, And I believe
<v Speaker 1>it was that one. So that night, my uh, they
<v Speaker 1>built this huge bonfire out by the corral. I remember
<v Speaker 1>they took a bunch of huge logs and they had
<v Speaker 1>built this thing up to be about six feet tall,
<v Speaker 1>and lit that thing and told all of us, you
<v Speaker 1>guys stay inside. I know you guys want to come
<v Speaker 1>out and play around and everything, but no matter what
<v Speaker 1>you hear, no matter what's going on, you just stay
<v Speaker 1>in here. And we thought it was really weird too,
<v Speaker 1>because we're like, well, are these wolves that dad that
<v Speaker 1>you have to took this fire? And so I remember
<v Speaker 1>that night like just and they stood. They stayed up
<v Speaker 1>all night next to the corral with this this bonfire raging.
<v Speaker 1>When we were on our way to go home, my
<v Speaker 1>mom had come to pick us up and we were
<v Speaker 1>all in the We were okay. So she had a
<v Speaker 1>pickup truck where with the with the cab slighting windows,
<v Speaker 1>and we had a shell in the back and we
<v Speaker 1>were really we were all in the shell. We were
<v Speaker 1>heading out and next thing, my mom's yelling at us, Hey, everybody,
<v Speaker 1>you could get in here, get in here, get get
<v Speaker 1>in here, get down Like okay, so we jump leap
<v Speaker 1>into the cab and we jumped down into like underneath
<v Speaker 1>the end, underneath the consonants, like the dashboard. And I
<v Speaker 1>remember talking to my brother about it, like just you know,
<v Speaker 1>this is decades later, like you're ten years ago, Like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>do you remember her doing that? And he's like yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I said, well why did she do that? And she's like,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. We were all we were. We were
<v Speaker 1>at my mom's place. I said, let's go ask her
<v Speaker 1>if they said, Mom, why did you tell us to
<v Speaker 1>duck down and get into the the cabs that day?
<v Speaker 1>Do you remember that? She says, oh, yeah, there was
<v Speaker 1>a it's because there was those two big foots over
<v Speaker 1>there bast the side of the road. I'm like what
<v Speaker 1>she says, Yeah, there was one over by the bushes,
<v Speaker 1>and then there was one down by the lake. And
<v Speaker 1>my brother just recently had said that my mom had
<v Speaker 1>told him that one of them had tried to reach
<v Speaker 1>out and and she was worried that he was like
<v Speaker 1>going to grab one of us, and that's why she
<v Speaker 1>had us jump into the cab and hide underneath the dashboard.
<v Speaker 1>And we're like, Mom, why why would you think that
<v Speaker 1>would freak us out? She says, I didn't want to
<v Speaker 1>scare you guys, And people started laughing. We're like, Mom,
<v Speaker 1>that whole summer they were over. I'm like, we're seeing
<v Speaker 1>them all summer, and she she Yeah, I had an
<v Speaker 1>aunty that was up there visiting. They live in Alaska now,
<v Speaker 1>and she was I had asked her where. I asked
<v Speaker 1>her if she had heard anything about that, because our
<v Speaker 1>family hasn't been shy about this, especially in my generation.
<v Speaker 1>And I asked my auntie if she had ever experienced anything,
<v Speaker 1>and she had said that when she was up there.
<v Speaker 1>She had gone up there one time, one weekend with
<v Speaker 1>like relatives or during the week it's something to babysit us.
<v Speaker 1>My grandma had to come back down off the mountain
<v Speaker 1>or something. I don't remember what it was, but I'll
<v Speaker 1>be up there with my aunt and she said, she says,
<v Speaker 1>I don't remember where you guys were at. I remember
<v Speaker 1>I was walking down the down tourt the main road,
<v Speaker 1>and one of these things steps out from behind one
<v Speaker 1>of the trees, and I was there all by myself
<v Speaker 1>with you kids, and I didn't know what to do.
<v Speaker 1>You know, it just she just went back to back,
<v Speaker 1>she says, she went back to the camp, or went
<v Speaker 1>back to the camp and just didn't didn't stray away
<v Speaker 1>from the campsite.
<v Speaker 2>You know, you mentioned something about the juvenile or the
<v Speaker 2>one that you believe was a juvenile kind of coming
<v Speaker 2>in and messing around. What sort of things was it doing, Well,
<v Speaker 2>that's what I.
<v Speaker 1>Mean, Like the one that was making the vocalizations and
<v Speaker 1>like coming in and like mess like that's what I mean.
<v Speaker 1>It was like messing with us, making it self steam
<v Speaker 1>and coming into the camp. The older ones, the adult ones,
<v Speaker 1>kind of stay kept their distance, or if they did
<v Speaker 1>come to the camp, you wouldn't really hear them. They
<v Speaker 1>tried to be very quiet. Yeah. The younger ones, like
<v Speaker 1>you hear a lot of times, are very violent and
<v Speaker 1>they can be very unpredictable. I guess.
<v Speaker 2>Do you think the one that you and your cousins
<v Speaker 2>saw awe that approached you guys when you were sitting
<v Speaker 2>at the fire, was the same one that was outside
<v Speaker 2>the tent.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I really don't know, because like that one,
<v Speaker 1>like because that one that we saw that was coming
<v Speaker 1>towards us was darker than the babtiship ray one. That
<v Speaker 1>one was like a black color, like a dark dark color,
<v Speaker 1>darker color. That's why I said, like a spider monkey
<v Speaker 1>kind of look, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And the one that was standing by the tent, I
<v Speaker 1>never saw, like we never saw it, were just standing there.
<v Speaker 1>But if I think about it, it seemed bigger than
<v Speaker 1>the But then again, you know, I was so small,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what the sizes were it was standing there,
<v Speaker 1>you know. Yeah, Yeah, that was that was pretty wild.
<v Speaker 1>There were a couple of things that I had mentioned,
<v Speaker 1>like I don't I remember my older brother, you know,
<v Speaker 1>that night when I woke up and my cousin was
<v Speaker 1>pointing out that at it. I don't believe that that
<v Speaker 1>was the first time it had been coming by. I
<v Speaker 1>think it was the first time that one of us
<v Speaker 1>had actually seen it coming by. And the Amason being
<v Speaker 1>is because my brother had at one point, I don't
<v Speaker 1>know how he ended up with a kitten. He had
<v Speaker 1>this little gray tabby cat must have been maybe two
<v Speaker 1>to four months old. I mean it wasn't it wasn't
<v Speaker 1>a very old kitten. And like I said, my brother
<v Speaker 1>and my older cousin slept at the front of the
<v Speaker 1>tent and so this little kitten would sleep with him.
<v Speaker 1>One I remember one morning waking up and everybody was
<v Speaker 1>just traumatized and terrorized by what we saw. That little
<v Speaker 1>kitten was rock solid, stiff, but it like had frozen
<v Speaker 1>in place as it was like hissing at something. It's
<v Speaker 1>paul was up and its back was up and it
<v Speaker 1>like it was like spatting at something. But it died
<v Speaker 1>the throgs in that spot. Yeah, that was rather traumatizing, horrifying. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it was. And that's what I mean, Like, that's what
<v Speaker 1>I mean. I think that's why the because these things
<v Speaker 1>will come around and while we're asleep, and his cat
<v Speaker 1>unfortunately got the got the dick being scared out of it,
<v Speaker 1>you know. Yeah. And then I don't remember who had
<v Speaker 1>this dog because it was its name was Snowball, but
<v Speaker 1>Snowball was a Chiuala mix of some sort, and it
<v Speaker 1>was just it was this little inklebiter that was just
<v Speaker 1>really loud and will go after everything. And those things
<v Speaker 1>put like that little dog just because it was just
<v Speaker 1>because of what how they are. And one morning we
<v Speaker 1>woke up with some pieces of it just kind of
<v Speaker 1>I remember it's a fur and little pieces of skin
<v Speaker 1>and little pieces of flesh catched to fur over kind
<v Speaker 1>of near the I remember, right like, as soon as
<v Speaker 1>you walk out of our cabin, there was a couple
<v Speaker 1>of like sparse trees like rid and from ever before
<v Speaker 1>you hit the meadow. It was in that little area
<v Speaker 1>that we've found the remnants of snowball.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's safe to say that just in that
<v Speaker 2>whole area there's something about the bigfoot where they just
<v Speaker 2>don't like dogs out there.
<v Speaker 1>They don't. I remember, like back in the nineties when
<v Speaker 1>I was first starting to really learn about Bickfoot in
<v Speaker 1>this area, I was working. I was doing outdoor theater.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>There there was a outdoor production here called Anasazi and
<v Speaker 1>some of the some of the people that were involved
<v Speaker 1>with it were long time residents. Like this area was
<v Speaker 1>settled by more than pioneers back in the eighteen hundreds,
<v Speaker 1>and some of those families are still quite prominent here.
<v Speaker 1>And one of the guys that I was in the
<v Speaker 1>show with was part of one of these families that
<v Speaker 1>had settled Kirtland, New Mexico, which is just right west
<v Speaker 1>of here. So here's family's been here for all that time.
<v Speaker 1>And I remember one night we were because we were
<v Speaker 1>all very you know, if you grow up here, it's
<v Speaker 1>not just Bigfoot, but everybody knows about skin walkers. Everybody's
<v Speaker 1>had an encounter or themee or what have you. I
<v Speaker 1>remember that I think his name is Sam, but I
<v Speaker 1>remember mentioning what did he call it? He called it that, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>he called it the Kirtland Monster. He says, my family
<v Speaker 1>was visited by the Kurtlin Monster last night, and it
<v Speaker 1>attacked one of our dogs. Like what what are you
<v Speaker 1>talking about? He says, Yeah, we have these big guard dogs,
<v Speaker 1>like kind of the they're determined shepherd mixes that are
<v Speaker 1>out in our yard and they have in their team
<v Speaker 1>to the yard, but they're they're set there to protect
<v Speaker 1>our property. And last night they were They kept barking
<v Speaker 1>and barking and barking, and we went on to go
<v Speaker 1>see what was going on and as we're standing there,
<v Speaker 1>something comes racing out from the river bottoms across the
<v Speaker 1>field and kicks our dog with such a veracity that
<v Speaker 1>the whole thing, like the chain goes top as it
<v Speaker 1>flies up in the air, that pulls it in and
<v Speaker 1>it flies back down to the ground and it runs
<v Speaker 1>and this thing runs off into the to the river
<v Speaker 1>bottoms again, Like holy wrap, it's this kurbling monster thing, right,
<v Speaker 1>And so my buddy and I at the time had
<v Speaker 1>found a copy of like the Legend of Boggy Creek,
<v Speaker 1>and we're like, oh, that must be what's down there,
<v Speaker 1>you know. But this is way before you know, Internet
<v Speaker 1>and people being so interconnected about these kind of things.
<v Speaker 1>I remember you talking with somebody just recently in one
<v Speaker 1>of the shows that you had had about these creatures
<v Speaker 1>being here, and it's it's pretty evident to us loads
<v Speaker 1>here that the government knows very well that they're here
<v Speaker 1>and knows exactly where they're at, and sometimes they put
<v Speaker 1>them here and sometimes they take them away.
<v Speaker 2>Really.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, several years ago, I was down and I was
<v Speaker 1>working in I'm in healthcare and I was working at
<v Speaker 1>a hospital deep burning the reservation. That's about two and
<v Speaker 1>a half hours from here because of me and being
<v Speaker 1>Native American Manetto and I usually will start chatting with
<v Speaker 1>the locals, will start getting started their stories, like what
<v Speaker 1>have you heard? What has gone on? And one of
<v Speaker 1>the girls that one of the goals that they met
<v Speaker 1>actually have to be a distant relative, a relation like
<v Speaker 1>a clan relation. And I know a lot of her family,
<v Speaker 1>so her she was very she's very candid about what
<v Speaker 1>she would tell me. And I said, so, what have
<v Speaker 1>you heard? She says, you know, a couple of years ago,
<v Speaker 1>over by Canyon Deshay, there were people that were always
<v Speaker 1>complaining that they could hear it, that it was screaming,
<v Speaker 1>that it was killing at people's animals, that it was
<v Speaker 1>causing all of these problems. And then one night you
<v Speaker 1>hear these helicopters that are coming in, and that's what
<v Speaker 1>she had said. She said, she was saying that there
<v Speaker 1>are certain like aircraft that are restricted to fly in
<v Speaker 1>airspaces like that, and she's like, well, this one is
<v Speaker 1>not supposed to be flying over here. And they heard
<v Speaker 1>it coming in and several people saw dangling from the
<v Speaker 1>bottom of this helicopter a large box and it flew
<v Speaker 1>off and after they had seen this, and that's what
<v Speaker 1>it was. This helicopter that's not supposed to be in
<v Speaker 1>that area comes in. They see a large box being
<v Speaker 1>flown off, and all of the people in the area
<v Speaker 1>after that start hearing this thing wailing like it's morning,
<v Speaker 1>like it lost a family member. They could hear it
<v Speaker 1>like calling for this thing, like all over the canyon
<v Speaker 1>bottoms and up on top. And said it happened for
<v Speaker 1>like a couple of weeks before it stopped. Or she says,
<v Speaker 1>you'd hear it, And she says, says, Jerry, this sings morning.
<v Speaker 1>You could hear it in its voice. It's calling for
<v Speaker 1>whatever family member this is that it's been that's been
<v Speaker 1>taken away. The last sighting that I have had was
<v Speaker 1>actually not too far from from here. It happened in
<v Speaker 1>twenty nineteen in the middle of the summer. I was
<v Speaker 1>kind of a night owl in that time of the
<v Speaker 1>and I remember I was watching TV. It was like
<v Speaker 1>two in the morning. Beddy of mine calls up and says, hey,
<v Speaker 1>can you come and get me and drag me and
<v Speaker 1>my son back over to my girlfriend's place. I can't
<v Speaker 1>share any problems. I go pick him up. We drive
<v Speaker 1>on to his girlfriend's place, and she lives in this
<v Speaker 1>little area called the Harper Valley that's just right on
<v Speaker 1>the art skirt outskirts of Farmington. And I know that
<v Speaker 1>brains Talk, you talked to brain Nation. She is an
<v Speaker 1>upper fruitland. So like the south side of the south
<v Speaker 1>side of the river is now the whole land, the
<v Speaker 1>north side of the river is not now at home,
<v Speaker 1>So this happens to be like a subdivision that's just
<v Speaker 1>kind of like I said, it's on the outskirts of town,
<v Speaker 1>down by the river, and it's surrounded by fields on
<v Speaker 1>both sides, the large groves of cotton trees. So his
<v Speaker 1>girlfriend happens to lives like at the very back edge
<v Speaker 1>of this subdivision and right in front of her house, Like,
<v Speaker 1>let's just riding is a culdest act to turn around
<v Speaker 1>and go back the other direction. So he and I
<v Speaker 1>get there, pull them through the driveway, and we all
<v Speaker 1>get out of the car, and I was like, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know. He's like, I don't want to try to
<v Speaker 1>wake her. So he's walking outside. We're walking right around
<v Speaker 1>the side of the house because he's like, I don't
<v Speaker 1>want a waker, I don't have a key. I'm like
<v Speaker 1>you don't have a key, Like, so I'm gonna say
<v Speaker 1>it's doors open in the side, so he's in front.
<v Speaker 1>Then it's the sun and me. We come walking around
<v Speaker 1>the corner of the house and I take a few
<v Speaker 1>steps and I stop, and I'm like, there are two
<v Speaker 1>sets of eyes staring at me. They had a truck
<v Speaker 1>that was kind of parked into their driveways. From one
<v Speaker 1>I'm standing, it's over at my one over in the
<v Speaker 1>corner there at the front of this truck, and at
<v Speaker 1>the back of the truck there is something like from
<v Speaker 1>where I can see the eye shine. It's kneeling and
<v Speaker 1>kind of crouched in front the one standing behind the truck,
<v Speaker 1>and they're both looking at our direction. But what I'm
<v Speaker 1>seeing are these two huge reflective white lights shining at me,
<v Speaker 1>and like, holy, because it looks like they're giving off light,
<v Speaker 1>you know, they're so reflective. So we take a few
<v Speaker 1>more steps and I and my tension rose over there
<v Speaker 1>and I hear this puppy noise. It it sounds like
<v Speaker 1>a puppy in distress coming from over near the tree line.
<v Speaker 1>And then I hear like a call back over by
<v Speaker 1>where the treat but by by where the where the
<v Speaker 1>where these two sets of eyes are. And I just
<v Speaker 1>quickly asked him his son. I said, hey, he gets
<v Speaker 1>good dog. He's like, oh no, no, we don't have a dog. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I'm just thinking it's just coyotes. I'm like, Jerry, it's
<v Speaker 1>just cootes. You're You're fine. We get I get a
<v Speaker 1>little further, and these eyes just want to keep stop
<v Speaker 1>from staring at us. And in my periphery, I see
<v Speaker 1>movement over at the tree line. So I know better
<v Speaker 1>than to stay out when something like that happens. Right,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, okay, I'm out in the open. I know
<v Speaker 1>what hanging's out out here. I don't need to be
<v Speaker 1>in some place that I can't get away. So I'm like, hey, guys,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not going back to the car. So I turn
<v Speaker 1>around start walking back. But I'm watching with my head
<v Speaker 1>looking straight ahead, but that's focusing on like I'm not
<v Speaker 1>turning my head towards the where the tree is and
<v Speaker 1>the property line because I know if I because I
<v Speaker 1>know at night, you know, like the puriffery vision is
<v Speaker 1>much better than you're straight on vision kind of thing.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm watching for movement out of my terrificy, and
<v Speaker 1>I can see something moving from the tree line toward
<v Speaker 1>the river, or something moving from the river towards back
<v Speaker 1>back to the other direction, because they're kind of like
<v Speaker 1>crossing each other on the other side of the the
<v Speaker 1>property funds. But I'm also feeling like there's something else
<v Speaker 1>out there that I can't see, this really huge, massive
<v Speaker 1>presence that's just watching all of it, taking it all
<v Speaker 1>in and I don't know if it's like conducting it
<v Speaker 1>or whatever, but I'm like hugging the side of the
<v Speaker 1>wall as I'm walking back up to my car, and
<v Speaker 1>luckily they have like the porch light on. The lights
<v Speaker 1>up by the in front of the house are on,
<v Speaker 1>so i hop in the car and I'm feeling safe
<v Speaker 1>and I'm creaming over to look trying to look down
<v Speaker 1>over where those two were looking at me. And I'm
<v Speaker 1>standing around seeing if I can see anything in the
<v Speaker 1>tree line, and I don't see anything, and I'm looking
<v Speaker 1>like you know, out the passenger window, and then I
<v Speaker 1>look behind me and I'm I'm like, holy shit, there
<v Speaker 1>are three more sets of eyes staring at me. And
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, okay, you know, there's a tree on the
<v Speaker 1>other side of the river that has you know, the
<v Speaker 1>amber mercury like sul side lights or whatever. Yeah, so,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm seeing the light coming through the continent trees
<v Speaker 1>that are there. So I'm only thinking myself, Okay, well, Jerry,
<v Speaker 1>there's not three eyes sitting there, but like, okay, that
<v Speaker 1>that's the rational seat of me saying. But I wear
<v Speaker 1>glasses and I'm like glubbing my eyes looking at over
<v Speaker 1>in the direction where these eye shines are coming from,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm like, no, Jerry, you are not seeing just
<v Speaker 1>the light coming through the trees. You were actually three
<v Speaker 1>three sets of eye shines, but they were like reflecting.
<v Speaker 1>They were like giving off the light like that those
<v Speaker 1>amber color from the street lights, whereas the other ones
<v Speaker 1>were giving off of white light. These things are giving
<v Speaker 1>off kind of like a golden color. And I'm looking
<v Speaker 1>at them, thinking like what the where are they doing?
<v Speaker 1>And you know, somebody is like pretending they're in an
<v Speaker 1>elevator and they're standing behind a sofa and they just
<v Speaker 1>kind of go down.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah, classic.
<v Speaker 1>Bit yeah yeah right. These things were doing that, but
<v Speaker 1>up and down like that, right yeah, And they're staring
<v Speaker 1>at me, but all three of them are kind of
<v Speaker 1>moving around bobbing in and out, and I'm like, what
<v Speaker 1>are they doing? You know, and it's almost and I've
<v Speaker 1>been told someone that it's kind of like they were
<v Speaker 1>preventing me from seeing just how many of them were
<v Speaker 1>because they know that their eyes give off the kind
<v Speaker 1>of light they didn't want me to be able to
<v Speaker 1>focus in on exactly where they were, so they were
<v Speaker 1>bobbing around to keep me from being able to focus
<v Speaker 1>in on exactly where they were at Around the head
<v Speaker 1>time that this happens, he and his son get some
<v Speaker 1>you know, like they come they like open the door
<v Speaker 1>and they get climbing in the car and I'm like, oh, man,
<v Speaker 1>you either got either skin walkers or you got big
<v Speaker 1>foot hanging around out there. And he's like, what are
<v Speaker 1>you talking about? And I'm like, there are three of
<v Speaker 1>them standing behind the car just now. He's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>you're just seeing things. I'm like, no, no, no, no, seriously,
<v Speaker 1>come let me show you. I turned the car on,
<v Speaker 1>slip the thing around, and turned my brights on, and
<v Speaker 1>where those three things that we're standing looked like three
<v Speaker 1>large logs or three large piles of dirt or dark
<v Speaker 1>compost or whatever. It's like they had all just crouched
<v Speaker 1>down to blend into the darkness kind of thing, you know.
<v Speaker 1>But there were three distinct individuals in my headlights. And
<v Speaker 1>I'm sitting there looking at him, thinking, Okay, I really
<v Speaker 1>really want them to move. I want to see I
<v Speaker 1>want to see something, you know. And I'm thinking to
<v Speaker 1>hunt my car. Do I have anything I can throw
<v Speaker 1>at him? And my buddy's like, we gotta go that
<v Speaker 1>the sheriff lives right here. I don't want to wake
<v Speaker 1>him up, because the sheriff lived like right next to
<v Speaker 1>where all these things, these things were at, And so
<v Speaker 1>we leave. We got to drop the sun off. We
<v Speaker 1>come back to this house and hours has passed and
<v Speaker 1>and we pull them in the driveway and I'm scanning
<v Speaker 1>everything everything before I get out of the car, before
<v Speaker 1>I do anything, I'm looking around and there's nothing there. Right.
<v Speaker 1>We get out, get up to the door, and he's like,
<v Speaker 1>I really got to talk to my girl for a sec.
<v Speaker 1>She's probably really pissed off. Can you stand out here
<v Speaker 1>for a minute. And I'm thinking to myself, I don't
<v Speaker 1>know about that, man. I'm like uh uh. And then
<v Speaker 1>I'm just like I can you hear myself saying sure?
<v Speaker 1>That's okay, all right. So he goes in and it
<v Speaker 1>was really odd because it's like, I think she's like
<v Speaker 1>there was something they had this door. It wasn't a
<v Speaker 1>door knob. It was like the ones with the latch
<v Speaker 1>that you have that you pushed an armb down as
<v Speaker 1>you're done. Yeah, but it broke but it had broken off,
<v Speaker 1>or or maybe the doorknob had broken off, but there
<v Speaker 1>was just this thing. You had to come like really
<v Speaker 1>jimmy it around to get the door open, but she
<v Speaker 1>had opened it from the side and he walked in.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm standing on the front porch. I'm backed up
<v Speaker 1>into the corner where nothing is gonna be able to
<v Speaker 1>come in front of me, or like nothing's gonna come
<v Speaker 1>from behind me or from my side. If anything's gonna
<v Speaker 1>come at me, it's going to be I'm gonna see
<v Speaker 1>it head on. And I'm standing underneath the porch light.
<v Speaker 1>So my crazy monkey brain decides, well, if they're out there,
<v Speaker 1>why don't you make that whoop sound that they're always
<v Speaker 1>making and finding big Foot? And see said, I'll see
<v Speaker 1>if these things will respond back to you. So I'm
<v Speaker 1>standing there feeling a little emboldened, and so I go
<v Speaker 1>who No sooner did I finish that peace sound? This
<v Speaker 1>war I had never oh that subsonic. My whole body,
<v Speaker 1>my innerds, my gut, my whole body is vibrating. Something
<v Speaker 1>that's about the size of the brown Bear mountain gorilla tiger,
<v Speaker 1>something that's at least fourteen hundred pounds, is roaring at
<v Speaker 1>me from the darkness, and I, I don't know how,
<v Speaker 1>Like I remember. The reason why I said I remember
<v Speaker 1>this is because I don't remember at the time how
<v Speaker 1>I got the door opened. But I got the door
<v Speaker 1>open and I jumped inside. I leaped in, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>there's no f and Wa'm standing out there. I said,
<v Speaker 1>something has roared at me. And both of them are
<v Speaker 1>standing on the on the staircase and their eyes are huge,
<v Speaker 1>just like. Neither one of them say anything. Neither one
<v Speaker 1>of them had a response. He starts going around, starts
<v Speaker 1>flipping my on all the lights in the house, and
<v Speaker 1>she walks me through the house, walks me over to
<v Speaker 1>the garage, opens it up, stirs slipping all the lights
<v Speaker 1>on outside and he's standing there. Well, I like something
<v Speaker 1>to my car and leave. I remember that night I
<v Speaker 1>went over to the casino, like because I was like,
<v Speaker 1>I can't be, I can't be by myself, but he
<v Speaker 1>was that. I was like, something just roars it. Yeah. No,
<v Speaker 1>if you've ever had that happen, it's something you never
<v Speaker 1>forget and it it must have only been just on
<v Speaker 1>the other side of like where that light ended, as
<v Speaker 1>it was, it was very close. I remember the people
<v Speaker 1>telling me later on that that whip sound is actually
<v Speaker 1>territorial sound, and I was I was basically telling the
<v Speaker 1>minute it was my place, and they were telling me, Oh, no,
<v Speaker 1>this isn't yours, little one, this is mine.
<v Speaker 2>You mentioned skinwalkers. Have you had encounters with skinwalkers?
<v Speaker 1>Oh? Yeah, yeah, quite a few. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I mean what what sorts of things would someone expect,
<v Speaker 2>Like what clues you in the skinwalker's messing with you.
<v Speaker 1>Here's one that has been fascinating to me that I
<v Speaker 1>hadn't like heard of or I haven't paid attention to
<v Speaker 1>until the last few years. Is when you're walking in
<v Speaker 1>the forest or you're in a room and there's no
<v Speaker 1>fan on or no door open, or there's no wind,
<v Speaker 1>but you hear the wind and you feel the wind,
<v Speaker 1>and then it just disappears like it's gone. But there's
<v Speaker 1>like like people will talk about like seeing things on
<v Speaker 1>the wall kind of moving like they're like the blowing
<v Speaker 1>through and that's and there's a there's a medicine man
<v Speaker 1>friend of mine that had talked about how when people
<v Speaker 1>were doing bad things towards him, he owned a trading
<v Speaker 1>post and one night he was in closing up the
<v Speaker 1>kill and kind of getting things ready, and that happened,
<v Speaker 1>and followed the pendles and blanks and the ball started
<v Speaker 1>like moving around like they were being blown by the wind.
<v Speaker 1>I've also there's also things that they I know that
<v Speaker 1>they can place things in and around your house that
<v Speaker 1>they can keep like cabs on you. Yeah, I was
<v Speaker 1>thinking of it kind of like a talent. Was it
<v Speaker 1>the in Lord of the Rings? The talents here, anything
<v Speaker 1>that it's called. I've worked for some people that dabble
<v Speaker 1>with that, and you just know that they do just
<v Speaker 1>try things that you find out about them, and they
<v Speaker 1>Here's one thing I never knew about too, is they
<v Speaker 1>they wear a crystal on top of their head, like
<v Speaker 1>underneath the skins and the pelts that they that they wear.
<v Speaker 1>Yea one night like actually that night that Brenda's meaning
<v Speaker 1>that she had here in twenty seventeen, there was a
<v Speaker 1>galls from a phoenix that had asked me if I
<v Speaker 1>looked to kind of go, let's go up. She didn't
<v Speaker 1>hear anything or see anything, right, So I'm like, all right,
<v Speaker 1>I'll take you over to some of the places that
<v Speaker 1>I know that are a little creepy. And so we
<v Speaker 1>went out to this place called the Area seven, and
<v Speaker 1>I parked so that way I was. I turned the
<v Speaker 1>car around so I was part heading out right so
<v Speaker 1>that we could just leave when we needed to. She
<v Speaker 1>rolled down her windows. I rolled down my windows, and
<v Speaker 1>she was looking often too. You know. We were just
<v Speaker 1>sitting there, listening and looking off into the darkness. It's
<v Speaker 1>three in the morning, and they start hearing crows. I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>I know crows aren't just be up this late at night,
<v Speaker 1>so then that's obviously going to be something else, right.
<v Speaker 1>So I start seeing I start having signs that there's
<v Speaker 1>something out there that is not It's like skinwalker sign
<v Speaker 1>if you will boom or something that's not right. So
<v Speaker 1>I hear that crow sound coming from like for more,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sitting from my eleven o'clock at by three o'clock,
<v Speaker 1>she says, hey, there's something moving over by the tree
<v Speaker 1>or by the bushes over there, kid, take a look.
<v Speaker 1>I look over and I see something that I catch
<v Speaker 1>a glimpse of something that reminds me of like that
<v Speaker 1>spider monkey looks right. So I'm like, okay, something over
<v Speaker 1>there or something over here to my eleven o'clock and
<v Speaker 1>then to my nine o'clock, I caps sure some movement,
<v Speaker 1>but it's down below me because we're kind of up.
<v Speaker 1>We're on this dirt gravel road but it's elevated, and
<v Speaker 1>then it goes down and it's kind of like a
<v Speaker 1>ditch to on the driver's side, and I can't focus
<v Speaker 1>in on what I'm seeing, but there's but I can
<v Speaker 1>kind of tell that there's something crawling towards the car.
<v Speaker 1>I get a flashlight out, and you know, flashlight doesn't
<v Speaker 1>the beam doesn't go very far because I didn't didn't
<v Speaker 1>think about having a spotlight, of course, But so I
<v Speaker 1>start hearing kind of like this concoffany and noise startup.
<v Speaker 1>But it's in my head and I'm like, okay, well
<v Speaker 1>there's something over here. There's something where to my three o'clock,
<v Speaker 1>there's something oft in the distance. In my eleven and
<v Speaker 1>I flipped on the light and they turn it off again,
<v Speaker 1>and then they turn it off. I can see the
<v Speaker 1>shadow at my ninds still kind of creeping closer, but
<v Speaker 1>it's like really close to the ground and off at
<v Speaker 1>my eleven, I see this glimmer like kind of the
<v Speaker 1>way you would think like a rhinestone captures the sunlight
<v Speaker 1>and just glimmers that light back at you, you know.
<v Speaker 1>But it's a red light that I see off in
<v Speaker 1>the distance. But I can steal whatever. All of this
<v Speaker 1>is encroaching closer and closer and closer, and everything that's
<v Speaker 1>insiding me is like, you don't want to stay around
<v Speaker 1>to see what this is. It's not going to be
<v Speaker 1>good whatever's out there. You need to leave right now.
<v Speaker 1>And I told her, I said, you know, I have
<v Speaker 1>the suspicion of what this is that's out there. We
<v Speaker 1>don't need to be around to see it because we
<v Speaker 1>won't want to be around to see it. So it
<v Speaker 1>turned on the car and started driving away, and she
<v Speaker 1>was like, oh, it's too bad. Then wanted to see something.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, honey, you don't want to see what that was.
<v Speaker 1>There's people, so that glimmer that I saw. They talk
<v Speaker 1>a lot about like how these these Navajo witches will
<v Speaker 1>wear like a crystal on top of their heads when
<v Speaker 1>they put their skins down, when they put their skins on,
<v Speaker 1>and that after a while, it'll create a bald spot
<v Speaker 1>on top of their head. So I've heard things within
<v Speaker 1>our community that if you see somebody with the bald
<v Speaker 1>spot on top of their head, they're probably doing something
<v Speaker 1>that they shouldn't be doing.
<v Speaker 2>Huh. Yeah, you had mentioned that Area seven to me
<v Speaker 2>before whenever we talked on the phone. That's just like
<v Speaker 2>an area where there's a lot of weird things going on.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, it's so it's a lot of the Sewin
<v Speaker 1>River kind of going to the northwest. Back in the fifties,
<v Speaker 1>when the US government decided to put in an agricultural
<v Speaker 1>project for the naval nation, they had put they'd created
<v Speaker 1>sections of land that they named and then area settular areas,
<v Speaker 1>and so Area seven happened to be one of them.
<v Speaker 1>And so that was the precursor to the Nappi, which
<v Speaker 1>is the huge operation they have now that's south of
<v Speaker 1>Farmington and south of where Brenda lives. And because I
<v Speaker 1>know that she told you about how they go up
<v Speaker 1>how these creatures will go up there and go raid
<v Speaker 1>the crops up on the on the Maza. Yeah, before
<v Speaker 1>before those operations were put here near Farmington, they were
<v Speaker 1>actually over by ship Rock over in this area. Seven
<v Speaker 1>was one of the areas. But you have to like
<v Speaker 1>it's you basically have to drive all the way out
<v Speaker 1>this paved road and then he hit a dirt road
<v Speaker 1>and then you have to drive down this dirt road.
<v Speaker 1>So quite a ways, it's if you didn't know where
<v Speaker 1>it was, you would miss it if you if you
<v Speaker 1>weren't from the area. You know, there's nothing that's really
<v Speaker 1>remarkable about what it's at. You just know that you're there.
<v Speaker 1>If you're a local. And because so far out of town,
<v Speaker 1>like you know, a lot of the a lot of
<v Speaker 1>people will go out there and party. I've heard stories
<v Speaker 1>about people, you know, being out there drinking with their
<v Speaker 1>buddies and then they were like, oh, he's tossed out,
<v Speaker 1>let's leave him here. And that buddy that wakes up
<v Speaker 1>in three or four in the morning out in the
<v Speaker 1>middle of nowhere, finds his way back out to the
<v Speaker 1>road and starts walking down the road into town and
<v Speaker 1>starts noticing that there's little rocks that are being thrown
<v Speaker 1>at him and turns around. I doesn't see anything, keeps
<v Speaker 1>walking and it turns you on walks and starts stealing things,
<v Speaker 1>hitting the back of the neck and of it. It's
<v Speaker 1>one of the stories of like the Little People. Basically
<v Speaker 1>what happens is this person then starts getting changed out
<v Speaker 1>by them like that they're trying to shoot them away
<v Speaker 1>from there from from where they lived. I've been down
<v Speaker 1>there before, Like I was down there with the buddy
<v Speaker 1>of mine and we it was in the summer and
<v Speaker 1>it was freaking hot, I remember, and I was looking
<v Speaker 1>off to the side of the the area that we
<v Speaker 1>were actually see there was like a there wasn't really
<v Speaker 1>any tree we could go sit under, so there was
<v Speaker 1>like some shrubs, and I was looking to see if
<v Speaker 1>there's like a place where could like kind of scoot
<v Speaker 1>into and be covered. I noticed this little opening and
<v Speaker 1>these in the brush. And this brush is probably about
<v Speaker 1>fifty ten feet tall, and it looks like reads and section.
<v Speaker 1>It's just it's it's like kind of brambles. But I
<v Speaker 1>noticed that there was an area that looks like well,
<v Speaker 1>if I if I take it down on my knees,
<v Speaker 1>I could like easily get him there, so I did.
<v Speaker 1>I got I kind of scooted through it. I walked,
<v Speaker 1>went went through it, and I was able to stand
<v Speaker 1>up soon as I got into it, and so I
<v Speaker 1>back a hand would comment and I said, hey, look
<v Speaker 1>come in here, you can stand up in the here.
<v Speaker 1>And it's great. He comes in, and but then I noticed,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, this is kind of odd. It was free
<v Speaker 1>of any kind of litter, like any kind of like
<v Speaker 1>leaf litter, any kind of dirt litter. There was a
<v Speaker 1>couple of bones in there, and it was just really
<v Speaker 1>particularly clean. And he and I sat there for a minute,
<v Speaker 1>and actually while we were there, we were there for
<v Speaker 1>about an hour and chatting away and stuff, and I
<v Speaker 1>mean we ended up leaving and we came back out
<v Speaker 1>there about it's been a couple of weeks after that, like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>let's go back to that place we were at. And
<v Speaker 1>I look over to where that opening is, and something
<v Speaker 1>has taken the branches and has placed it in in
<v Speaker 1>a way where you if we it's covering up that opening.
<v Speaker 1>And I look at it. I'm like, oh whatever, I'm
<v Speaker 1>like I'm getting back in there. I pushed the thing
<v Speaker 1>opening you climb back in there, and I remember that day,
<v Speaker 1>I'm like hearing this chatter from across the river because
<v Speaker 1>you know, I remember at the time just thinking that
<v Speaker 1>it was like like you know, when you're down by
<v Speaker 1>the river and you hear the water going over the rocks,
<v Speaker 1>you just kind of assume that you're just hearing things, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>But when I've talked about when I've been hearing your
<v Speaker 1>show and other people talk about it, I'm like, it
<v Speaker 1>sounded like it sounded like what you would do if
<v Speaker 1>you could two, if you were standing there with your
<v Speaker 1>buddy of yours and you were like, can you believe
<v Speaker 1>what the guy is doing? Oh my gosh, we did
<v Speaker 1>all that stuff, and I look at that from across
<v Speaker 1>the river, and I remember we were very well. We
<v Speaker 1>didn't stay very long because I kind of got freaked
<v Speaker 1>out because I'm like, whatever this is was actually made.
<v Speaker 1>It wasn't something that was like natural, and it's not
<v Speaker 1>an animal like a deer that are coming into doing this,
<v Speaker 1>because why would it be so clean?
<v Speaker 2>Right?
<v Speaker 1>And it was large enough for me and my buddy
<v Speaker 1>to go in there and sit down, and we have
<v Speaker 1>plenty of room and we could stand up inside of
<v Speaker 1>the place, So it's like truly I haven't been back
<v Speaker 1>to that area. I haven't been back to that particular
<v Speaker 1>area since then, but that's in that area seven portion
<v Speaker 1>of the river. Oh. I do remember that that summer
<v Speaker 1>we were up in the mountains, talked about different vocalizations.
<v Speaker 1>One thing I distinctly remember, I was always hearing cows,
<v Speaker 1>and I thought, well, that's kind of odd that I
<v Speaker 1>can hear. And you know, the more I've been around
<v Speaker 1>cattle as I've gotten older, I'm like, towns really aren't
<v Speaker 1>that loud? Are they? I know, like they move, but
<v Speaker 1>they're not like echoing through the forest kind of loud.
<v Speaker 2>Not really, or they're.
<v Speaker 1>Not like I can hear that, and I know it's
<v Speaker 1>like three two three miles away, but it sounds like
<v Speaker 1>a cow. But I remember that stinkly that these creatures
<v Speaker 1>would make. Like you know, you hear about the moan
<v Speaker 1>you hear about the screen. These guys wouldn't move. I
<v Speaker 1>really like low level you could hear the move, you know,
<v Speaker 1>that kind of thing. Actually it sounded a lot like that,
<v Speaker 1>but we I always passed it off as it just
<v Speaker 1>being like the cows, you know, And I'm just likes
<v Speaker 1>is cow. My cousin who was a skeptic until he
<v Speaker 1>actually saw one a bigfoot, and suddenly he also started
<v Speaker 1>remembering like, oh yeah, I've seen it here and I've
<v Speaker 1>seen it there and then you know that kind of thing.
<v Speaker 1>She's had some good orb stories. But I remember him
<v Speaker 1>also telling me a story about a minotaur as well
<v Speaker 1>too that he saw. Oh wow, yeah, that one freaked
<v Speaker 1>me out when he like really, He's like yeah, because
<v Speaker 1>I was. He does. He's he's like our family's mechanics.
<v Speaker 1>And so I was over there with him and he
<v Speaker 1>was like, so, who's give me your stories? He was
<v Speaker 1>telling me that he says it's about he says, you
<v Speaker 1>know what I'm here's in the I'm out here tinkering
<v Speaker 1>around really late in the morning, early in the morning.
<v Speaker 1>It was around like one two in the morning. He
<v Speaker 1>was working on in the car, and he said it
<v Speaker 1>sounded like a cow and distress, and like, what are
<v Speaker 1>you talking? He says, you know, like when a baby
<v Speaker 1>cat is like looking for it's mom or it's like
<v Speaker 1>it's in that kind of thing that sound that it makes.
<v Speaker 1>That's what I started hearing. And he said, I called
<v Speaker 1>up to the because he has his other family that
<v Speaker 1>lives up the hill from him and he called up there,
<v Speaker 1>or actually they called down and they said, hey, do
<v Speaker 1>you see anything. I mean, like, well, we're hearing this thing.
<v Speaker 1>We're hearing this weird noise coming down from your area.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, you've see anything. He says, yeah. Actually, I'm
<v Speaker 1>standing out here right now and I can see it.
<v Speaker 1>It's walking up along the ditch. And he says, distinctly,
<v Speaker 1>it had like the top part it looked like a bull.
<v Speaker 1>In the bottom part of it looked like it was
<v Speaker 1>walking like on legs, like the human and it was.
<v Speaker 1>It walked along the road till it got to the
<v Speaker 1>next casture where it could where there isn't sense, and
<v Speaker 1>it turned the corner and walked towards the river. And like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, when I think about it, like Brenda and
<v Speaker 1>everybody says, what is it with that river?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, something, something's going on out there, man. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I've never heard anybody describe something like that before. I
<v Speaker 2>read somewhere. It might have been like Reddit or something
<v Speaker 2>where a Native kid was talking about walking home one night.
<v Speaker 2>He said that he heard something whistling at him and
<v Speaker 2>that he kept like looking around and he couldn't see anything,
<v Speaker 2>and he's getting scared because it's you know, nighttime, and
<v Speaker 2>he's by himself, and he he's hearing this whistlane. And finally,
<v Speaker 2>like the last time he turned around, he said that
<v Speaker 2>there was a thing that looked like a horseman like.
<v Speaker 2>He described it as like a horse on two legs basically,
<v Speaker 2>but it was the proportions of a man, but had
<v Speaker 2>the distinctive head of a horse. Was standing behind him,
<v Speaker 2>and he just took off running.
<v Speaker 1>Oh wow.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And I had never heard of that one. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>so I don't know. I've heard centaurs. Brenda mentioned something
<v Speaker 2>about I think her son said he saw a centaur
<v Speaker 2>type thing.
<v Speaker 1>I have heard stories of that too. South of Window Rocks.
<v Speaker 1>I remember somebody telling me that south of Window Rock
<v Speaker 1>toward I forty there that somebody had seen one up
<v Speaker 1>on the Mesa. And then another thing that I've been
<v Speaker 1>hearing about around here is the large snake. My cousin,
<v Speaker 1>the one that saw the minotaur, has actually seen this
<v Speaker 1>large snake. You know the you know the drainage tubes
<v Speaker 1>that they put ar reneath the underneath roads. Yeah, they're
<v Speaker 1>probably a good diameter, probably like good thirty thirty six
<v Speaker 1>inches or so. Yeah, he's come across something that's been
<v Speaker 1>that has been going into one of those things that
<v Speaker 1>is taking up the entire diameter of that large black snake. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so I don't doubt it. I mean, like even in
<v Speaker 1>the Navajo, in our creation stories, there are stories about bigfoot,
<v Speaker 1>there are stories about large snakes, there are stories about
<v Speaker 1>these hybrid is. Yeah, it's interesting to think, how how
<v Speaker 1>like a lot of the indigenous stories and tales are
<v Speaker 1>actually kind of talking about things that are truly out there.
