Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio.

00:00:04
Speaker 2: You know the Raiders signing their center, Tyler Linderbaum for twenty seven million dollars per year. That's nine million more than the second highest paid center, who is Creed Humphrey with Kansas City. I love the signing. You get an elite center, and I'm going to have him in front of Fernando Mendoza helping to block for Ashton Gent as well. I think it's a very smart decision. I'd load up on offensive line early and often if I'm the Raiders. The Chiefs got Kenneth Walker Junior, the third It's a three year, forty five million dollar deal, and keep in mind he's played more than twelve regular season games twice in his four years. He of course the Super Bowl MVP Mike Evans going to the Niners. They're probably going to release Brandon Nayuk. You got to compete with la in Seattle, and it says three years, sixty million. I'd be surprised at age thirty three if he's able to go three years. Malik Willis to the Dolphins. I told you that's where I thought he was going to go. Three years at sixty seven million. The surprising part of this is and I thought he would go there, But then I also said, if I'm the Dolphins, I would just stay with quinn Ewers and then just kind of get through this season. Malik Willis he's not coming in too. I don't like using the word tank, but under perform. He wants to commend, to prove that he is a starting quarterback in this league. But the Dolphins aren't ready to win now. And that's what was surprising. Now, it's not a lot of money for a starting quarterback, you know, twenty two and a half million dollars. I think it's great. The Dolphins head coach Jeff Halfley, he was the Packers d C last year, so he saw Willis every day in practice, and they bring him in. But I was wondering about the Kenneth Walkers signing because the Chiefs at nine. I thought maybe Jeremiah Love, if the Chiefs were lucky, he would fall there. The Saints ab Travis atn they signed him. The Cardinals aren't going to go I don't think for Jordan Love at number three. So maybe the Titans at four, Giants had five. Are the Commanders at seven So these are the things when you look at the free agent signings, what do they mean at other positions or players who are going to be drafted. And the Panthers did make the playoffs last year at eight and nine, but they went out and improved their defense. Jalen Phillips, it's a lot of money four for one twenty and Devin Lloyd, he was second team All Pro in twenty twenty five. So those are just some of the moves that happened and how they're going to impact teams with drafting, how they're going to impact other free agents there. But Kenneth Walker to the Chiefs, that's good money that they paid. And Albert Brier, the Money Morning Quarterback, will join us next hour. We'll talk about college basketball, those who punched their tickets night, the drama that is Magic City with the NBA. Have that for you as well. Seatan, what's the poll question for the first hour of this program?

00:03:10
Speaker 3: First hour poll question is from Paul who dot dot dot had the best day yesterday? Malik Willis, tua Oh, Fernando Mendoza, maybe Mike Evans even there's a lot of people that changed the destinations that may be upgraded we can populate this pole question if you'd like who.

00:03:31
Speaker 2: I'm not surprised had the best day yesterday. I'm not surprised Tua ended up in Atlanta. I thought, if you're going to build your offense around a left handed quarterback, bringing Tua in, he doesn't cost you anything. I don't think either of these quarterbacks is the future a solution, but it doesn't cost anything if I can bring Tua in. I don't know if Michael Pennix Junior the third is going to be ready to start the season coming off an injury and you bring in Tua. Maybe, I mean, you got weapons there, and you know he doesn't have the strongest of arms, but he can move it around a little bit. There. You got a great running back bringing Pitt's back, So maybe you got an offensive minded head coach. But I'm okay with this.

00:04:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, Paul, you could make the case that to his career is in better shape now than it was a week ago. He gets all his money, he's on a better roster, a better defense, a winnable division, much more winnable division compared to what he was in.

00:04:30
Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I don't think there was any real downside. Just like the Vikings bringing in Kyler Murray. I think that's where he's gone. I said that from the beginning that would be the place. And I think with Kevin O'Connell with some offensive weapons there, he's indoors on turf. I like that as well. But Trey Hendrickson is kind of in no man's land. He missed out on that big contract. He got the one year franchise contract or offer from the Bengals, and now he's out looking for work and at his age, he's not gonna get that big contract. You know, he might get front loaded, maybe get some you know, decent guaranteed money, but he missed out on his window.

00:05:10
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:05:10
Speaker 3: See, it does seem like with this like salary cap bump that happened this year, players are getting paid, you know, maybe more so than it's it's a little bit here and there, but you know, I mean that mcduffey deal is huge. Even Laramie Tunsel got two years sixty's that's damn good money. There's a whole bunch of guys, you know. That Alec Pierce money, four years, one hundred and fourteen million, that's.

00:05:40
Speaker 2: Alec Pierce was a kid out of Cincinnati, and I remember watching one of their games. I'm like, that dude gets behind the defense. And that's what he does. He gets behind the defense. He's not a guy that's gonna have eighty catches. He's gonna get forty and then he'll turn forty into ten touchdowns. He is about twenty two yards per reception, but he got twenty nine million dollars. Now, I go, wow, that's a lot of money for a guy who's not even your number one option. But twenty nine million per season. So that's one million lesson on Aman Ross Saint Brown. That's four million dollars more than Devonte Smith. That's five million more than Nico Collins. Wow for a guy who, well, hopefully he can develop into a eighty catch guy. But he does make you pay with the forty plus catches.

00:06:34
Speaker 4: Yes, Paul, Yeah, Alec Pierce last year only forty seven catches, one thousand yards, twenty one yards a catch. The year before twenty two yards a catch. That's like old AFL days numbers.

00:06:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't get too many of those guys that are like, he just does one thing. He beats you deep. But they the Colts. Michael Pittman, Junior the third goes to Pittsburgh. But Alec Pierce, your go to guy for the Colts staying home.

00:07:02
Speaker 6: Yes, if you're the owner of an average team or a below average team that didn't do much and I know it's been only that first day yesterday, what is the owner I want to say to the general manager or coaching staff is like, you know, what are we doing here?

00:07:14
Speaker 2: Well, you have a couple more days, but you miss out on the big ticket items. And I go back to Jerry Jones. He was all in and then he was gonna bust the budget. I think this year, like he comes up with slogans, It just he doesn't really do anything. I mean, Rashaun Gary nice player, you know, he's a kind of a plug and play, you know, kind of let's stop the run game, I guess, just like Kenny Clark. So they got another Kenny Clark from the Green Bay Packers. But I keep waiting for doubt. I mean, the only move in the off season was Dak Prescott not getting married. And if I'm a Cowboy fan, You're gonna have no what.

00:07:54
Speaker 4: Do you mean he was engaged?

00:07:55
Speaker 1: Right?

00:07:56
Speaker 4: I honestly don't know about this.

00:07:58
Speaker 2: They were at the Bachelorette, then Bachelor Parties, and then after that decided they weren't going to get married.

00:08:05
Speaker 4: Is he a restricted free agent right now?

00:08:07
Speaker 2: I think he's unrestricted. Oh yeah.

00:08:11
Speaker 3: Lots of people saying he got too close to a ring and had to Yes, that's true, they had to back away.

00:08:16
Speaker 5: Yeah, I got it.

00:08:16
Speaker 2: Little too close to a ring? Okay, fair enough?

00:08:19
Speaker 5: Fair enough?

00:08:20
Speaker 7: Uh?

00:08:20
Speaker 2: David in Ohio, Hi, David.

00:08:24
Speaker 8: Yeah, Seaton just stole my thunder there. But yeah, uh agency news, Zach Prescott, Uh, falling off the wedding. Uh for I don't know what happened there. And like Seaton said, it's not like the cowboys to uh, you know, choke a month before getting the ring.

00:08:42
Speaker 9: So thank you?

00:08:43
Speaker 2: All right, David, I know we had a cowboy joke in there somewhere. All right, eight seven to seven three DP show. We'll come up with a pole question. Watching basketball, I did watch the World Baseball Classic with Team US. Egg Paul's schemes looked like he was in mid season form there last night. There's certain pictures where you go, it's not fair Randy Johnson when he would get on the mound and I would say, boy, it's not fair especially if you're a left handed batter with schemes. It doesn't matter. He was bringing cheese there. It was fun to watch. And then I'm watching OKAC and the Denver Nuggets and it's back and forth, jokers playing great. SGA is playing great game on the line and SGA has the ball and as I yell out loudly to wake up my dog next to.

00:09:30
Speaker 9: Me, double him, double, Oh.

00:09:34
Speaker 2: My god, step back three boom, and I go, oh my goodness, he's the only guy in the building who's going to take the shot. OKAC didn't have their full starting lineup, and give credit to SGA. He was great. Great. You look at the numbers here, thirty five. He scored at least twenty points in one hundred and twenty six consecutive games, so he's tied with Wilt Chamberlain for the long I guess such streak in NBA history. He also had fifteen assists. He also didn't commit a turnover, and over the last five years, SGA has made eight go ahead baskets in the final ten seconds of the fourth quarter or overtime, three more than any other player. Just out of the day, brought to you my Panini America the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. And this isn't like you have to have your Heisman moment, but this could be your MVP moment because if you didn't stay up and watch it but national TV, you'll see it on Sports Center and you're going to see him hit a big shot against their rival and the guy who is up there for MVP as well in a joker but SGA methodical and I know people can now they're starting to go, well, you know, he kind of gets a lot of call fouls called, and he kind of initiates contact and you know, we went through this with James Harden. He's a great player. He's a great player and uh, game on the line. He's done everything that you want. He plays hard and probably gonna be the MVP now. I thought he was gonna win the MVP even before this, uh just because okaysee has played well, although they did taper off a little bit. I think we thought they're on a record breaking pace, so he'll be the MVP. Uh, joker to me still the best player. I think Jalen Brown might be the most valuable player just because what he did in a year that we thought was maybe a throwaway year for the Celtics, kept them in the thicke of things, and now Tatum is back and they might be the team to beat in the East. But you're watching and you're going, what is your defensive philosophy if you're going to play man on man against SGA and you're going to leave some poor or kid on an island with the best player MVP. And they paid for it, paid for it, Yes, Marvin.

00:12:08
Speaker 10: When I saw that play, all I could think about was you and how angry you were, Like two people on him. If loud Dort hits the shot or one of the Jalen Williams has hits the shot, all right, but not him. It cannot be every single time. So you know, the team's best player hits a game winner. I just see you coming the next day, Marvin. I can never ever let the best player on the floor beat me. And yes they did force him to take a three, but it was a step back jumper and I got to take the ball out of his hands. It's as simple as that. Somebody else beats me, good, I'm fine with that. I got to take the ball out of his hands. And there's another defender, right there at the top of the key. Who could have come over, Make him pick up his dribble, make him pass it, and maybe you get somebody who is not ready to take that big shot, Like what is the downside to that? We're gonna double sga if he makes a shot when he's double team.

00:13:05
Speaker 2: Hey, he earned it. We deserve to lose. But in that moment, I can't let him take that shot.

00:14:25
Speaker 2: He is the Monday morning quarterback kind of enough to join us on a Tuesday morning Albert Brier who had the best day yesterday. Albert, Oh, hey, Dan. I love what the Chiefs did.

00:14:38
Speaker 12: I think, you know, like if you look at kind of where they were, I'm going into the day. They needed to fill running back, they needed to fill nose tackle. They get both those addressed. The reason I.

00:14:50
Speaker 9: Really liked the Kenneth Walker deal I go back.

00:14:53
Speaker 12: A couple of years and I remember, you know, when Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, and Saquon Barkley did deals on the first day of free agency, and there were a lot of people like, I can't believe teams are spending on running backs all of that stuff, and I remember taking a step back and thinking to myself, well, look at the three teams.

00:15:12
Speaker 9: That did it.

00:15:13
Speaker 12: It was the Eagles, the Packers, and the Ravens, and those aren't dumb teams. And so, you know, my thought on it at the time was is this, have we gotten to the point now where teams are looking at and saying that position has been devalued to the point where it's become a value, right.

00:15:30
Speaker 9: And so then I dug into a little deeper talked to those teams.

00:15:33
Speaker 12: It was pointed out to me that Darnell Mooney got signed by the Falcons for about the same same at about the same rate that Barkley, Jacobs and Henry got, which was insane to me.

00:15:47
Speaker 9: You know when you think about the value of those players.

00:15:49
Speaker 12: So I think that the top end veteran running back who makes it to the free agent market has become a value. And so the Chiefs get that and Kenneth Walker, a guy who can plan all three downs at one hundred and thirty three catches over his four years in Seattle, something they really haven't had in a long time in Kansas City. They get Kiris Tonga to fill their nose tackle role. They get Alohi Gilman to play safety for him. I think Tonga and Gilman two guys that switched teams last year are ascending now, so they get those guys I think on the way up, you know. And I think the other thing it does Dan to me, it's really important. This is going to be a big draft of the Chiefs after the Trent McDuffie trade, and I don't think if you're the Chiefs you can count on Jeremiah Love falling to you at nine. So by getting Walker, it really frees them up to just go get the best player with a ninth pick and not have to trade up. And they have the ninth, twenty ninth, and fortieth picks, so if they want, they can go in and maybe get a Travis Kelsey's successor in Kenyan Sadik. They go and get a receiver like maybe a Carnel Tape falls to them. They can go get a corner like Delayne from LSU.

00:17:02
Speaker 13: You know.

00:17:02
Speaker 9: You just look at all.

00:17:03
Speaker 12: The different things that they could do now in the draft, and getting Kenneth.

00:17:08
Speaker 9: Walker opens a lot of that up for them.

00:17:10
Speaker 12: So I really like what the Chiefs did all the way around, and I think it sets them up to have a really great draft and have a different looking team around Patrick Mahomes when he gets back off the ACL.

00:17:21
Speaker 2: I'm guessing the Chiefs did their due diligence realizing that Jeremiah Love was not going to be there and they had had they had to upgrade. So that means Titans, Giants, does Arizona entertain the idea of Jeremiah Love that high?

00:17:39
Speaker 12: So I think for all those teams, the question you got to ask is, like, how quickly are we going to get really really good?

00:17:46
Speaker 9: Right?

00:17:47
Speaker 3: Like?

00:17:47
Speaker 12: So the thing about taking a running back that high is that like their rookie deal, like that's going to be a part of their prime because it's easier to plug guys in at that position and you can produce almost right away. And so, you know, I think for Arizona, for the Giants, for the Titans, you know, what it's going to take is a real sober look at your roster and saying to yourself, are we in a position to do this rather than you know, taking a tackle or a pass rusher or someone in a premium position. And I think that's sort of indicative of the overall makeup of the top ten. I made this comparison a couple of weeks ago, and I think it's a I think it's an interesting one. Do you remember the Lions in twenty twenty three what they did when they took Jamiir Gibbs and Jack Campbell in the first round, right? Do you remember how they were criticized for that dan a running back and an off ball linebacker. Well, you know, now three years later, Jack Campbell's first team All Pro and Gibbs has made three Pro Bowls.

00:18:46
Speaker 9: Right, and so?

00:18:48
Speaker 12: And if you look at the guys who went up premium positions around them, I mean I picked out twelve or thirteen guys that were picked right around there, and only Christian Gonzalez and Jackson Smith and Jacoba are or the same level or better than the two.

00:19:01
Speaker 9: Guys the Lions got. The reason I'm saying that is because you know, I.

00:19:05
Speaker 12: Think that's gonna be a question a lot of teams are gonna have to ask, is like, do we take a premium position a corner, an edge rusher, a tackle, you know in the top call it twelve picks, or do we go with an off ball linebacker in sunny styles or a running back in Jeremiah Love or a safety in Caleb Downs.

00:19:23
Speaker 9: That's sort of the makeup of the top end of the drift.

00:19:26
Speaker 12: Because you don't have a Miles Garrett type of edge rusher, you don't have a Joe Alt type of tackle, You're gonna have to compromise some and so it does make for an interesting decision. But I think for the teams you mentioned, the important thing is going to be are we ready to take a running back and plug them in and and maybe pass up on somebody who could fill a hole at a premium spot.

00:19:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, Commanders might be the landing spot for Jeremiah Love. We're talking to Albert Breer, the Monday Morning Quarterback. I like that the Raider spent money. I like that they went out and they overspent for a center. But I got to have the first line of defense for my quarterback. I got to start with my center, who is a high end center. I like that, and then they kind of filled in with maybe players that were not too familiar with but they will serve a purpose there. The Raiders spent money, did they spend it wisely?

00:20:26
Speaker 12: So they overspent on Tyler Leanderbaum, But I think it was actually a good overspend. Here's the way I look at it, Like, I think center is probably a more important position than guard, and especially in that offense. So like Trey Smith and Tyler Smith are at the top of the guard market right now, right around twenty four million. So like, let's say the value for Tyler Landerbaum was twenty three or twenty four million. Would you rather just spend the three million extra and get the player than risk losing them to the commanders of the Browns.

00:20:58
Speaker 9: Or whoever was in it.

00:21:00
Speaker 12: If you're the Raiders, Like, three million isn't that much in the grand scheme of things. And if you've got to overpay because you haven't been winning, then go ahead and do it right. And what you get to me when you look at this is a a guy who's a great scheme fit. He's a smaller guy for the position, but that doesn't matter as much in the Kubiak offense. He's athletic, he can pull, so all that's in place. And then in that offense they put a lot mentally on the center. Right, the center is a huge part of the pre snap operation when it comes to setting protections and.

00:21:31
Speaker 9: All of that stuff. That takes stuff off the plate of the quarterback. So that's going to take stuff off the plate of Fernando Mendoza.

00:21:38
Speaker 12: So by investing in Linderbaum, I think you're investing in Mendoza.

00:21:42
Speaker 9: So that's why I like that that move.

00:21:44
Speaker 12: I think it's a scheme fit and it helps you with your young quarterback. And then you know, as far as the other things they did, I think they took advantage of a depressed market for off ball linebackers and going and getting kway Walker and a Kobe Dean. They're taking a flyer in a former first round to and couity pay. They're bringing back Eric Stokes, you know who I think flashed again.

00:22:05
Speaker 9: As a former first round or at corner.

00:22:08
Speaker 12: You know, I think, you know, when you get past Lenderbaum, I think you see a lot of sensible.

00:22:14
Speaker 9: Mid level moves. You know, they're not the top.

00:22:17
Speaker 12: Of the market, but I think they're moves that could make them better, you know, in the short term, in the long term.

00:22:22
Speaker 9: So I like where the Raiders spent their money yesterday.

00:22:25
Speaker 2: I'm trying to understand the Dolphins. I wasn't surprised Malik Willis went there, but I was surprised that why not just let this season play out? Why not have quinn ewers play You're not winning anything. So you're gonna give away one of Malik Willis's you know, one year out of three years. It's not a lot of money. And I do I do like him. Yeah, I just why not just ride this out? You know, you're not going to be good once again, it's supposed to be a good quarterback draft next year. Why not be in the mix for somebody who is truly a franchise quarterback.

00:23:02
Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm with you on all that.

00:23:03
Speaker 12: Like, this is very clearly a rebuilding year, like a tear it down to the studs year for them, right, Like, no question about it. I think it's a credibility play, is the way I would look at it. I mean, look like, I don't think there's any question that they're not going to be great this year. And you know, I think, you know, over the course of the next few weeks, the next couple of months, I mean you're going to see the Dolphins really put a lot of eggs in the basket of the draft. And that's been the charge of ownership, you know. So when they were going out and looking for a new GM and looking for a new head coach, a huge part of it was what we need to draft and develop better. And that's why they go and get a couple of guys from the Packers and John Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hathley because that place has been a player developing machine over the years.

00:23:48
Speaker 9: And so.

00:23:51
Speaker 12: I'm with you on like they need a draft better. They had fewer draft picks than any team in the league over the last four years. A couple of their draft classes out of the last five have been complete waste slams. They need to fix that, and they're going to try and fix that this offseason. At the same time, I mean, you can't be the Cleveland idiots from minor from from major league, you know what I mean, Like if you're if you're trying to if you're trying to build a program. And so I do think like bringing in Malik Willis from Green Bay, you know, John Eric Sullivan and Jeff Haffley know exactly what they're getting with him, at least gives you some credibility that, you know, for the players who are on hand, we are going.

00:24:29
Speaker 9: To give you a chance on a week to week basis.

00:24:31
Speaker 12: And you know, maybe we don't have Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes here, but we do have a guy that we can game plan with, and a guy that we can compete with.

00:24:38
Speaker 9: And so.

00:24:40
Speaker 12: Just as far as like getting buy in from the players, and and and and energizing the team this year, I think Malik Willis does that.

00:24:49
Speaker 9: And you know, I view him as sort of a high.

00:24:51
Speaker 12: End bridge to whoever the next guy is. And maybe it's somebody like an Arch Manning or Brendan Soresby or a CJ.

00:24:58
Speaker 9: Carr or a Trinidad Channel, whoever it is next year.

00:25:03
Speaker 2: Uh, Kyler Murray seems like a foregone conclusion. He's going to Minnesota. Just that correct.

00:25:11
Speaker 9: I think he'd liked to go to Minnesota.

00:25:12
Speaker 12: Yeah, OK, yeah, I think that's I think that's a I think that's a that's a fair fair guess.

00:25:22
Speaker 2: But if not Minnesota, then where.

00:25:27
Speaker 9: Indianapolis? Like I I you know, do you?

00:25:31
Speaker 12: Here's the thing if you're Kyler Murray, because you you're gonna play on the minimum next year, right, So money is not an object. The Cardinals are basically paying you next year. So the reason Kyler Murray wanted to be cut rather than traded is because he wanted to go and he wanted to be able to pick his next destination for football reasons only, right, So, if you're Kyler Murray, is your best play to go to the Jets? Where is your best play to go to the Colts if it's not the Vikings? Right, If you go to the Colts, you get to play for St. Shane's Syke and you get all the starter reps through the spring and summer. Maybe Daniel Jones is ready for the opener, but if he gets hurt again, then you get in and you'll have some familiarity with the players there. And they've got good offensive players and guys like Pearce and Warren and not Pittman anymore, but Jonathan Taylor, good offensive line. So I think those are the things you have to weigh, right, Like, if you're Kyler Murray, Minnesota obviously be perfect. And I can tell you this, like Kevin O'Connell has looked at these sorts of reclamation projects over the last couple of months in anticipation of being here, and they had such success resurrecting Sam Darnold's career a couple of years ago that they're really interested.

00:26:47
Speaker 9: In doing that with someone again.

00:26:49
Speaker 12: So my guess would be, like where your guess is that he winds up with the Minnesota Vikings, but I think Gino Smith could wind up being a factor there too.

00:26:58
Speaker 9: It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

00:27:01
Speaker 5: Uh.

00:27:02
Speaker 2: I bring up Jerry Jones, not to troll anybody here, but he's the one who was all in last year and then he's gonna bust the budget this year. What are they waiting on because I think they were in the Max Crosby sweepstakes.

00:27:16
Speaker 9: They were, they were till the end.

00:27:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, yeah.

00:27:25
Speaker 12: I would say one name to keep an eye on for for them would be would be Trey Hendrickson, especially if the market comes down a little bit like it seems to have. They did take care, they did address the edge rusher question, which is the biggest question for them coming into this offseason, and and and going and trading for Shaun Gary. But I wouldn't be surprised if they're not necessarily done there yet. They've got a young player they really like and Donovan Azeraku who was a rookie last year, so I think you could wind up seeing an addition there. They've obviously got the money tied up in George Pickens on the franchise tag. They paid Javonte Williams, and they did make the run at Max Crosby. I could also see them doing something at Corner here in the next day or two. So I don't think they're done, but they did make a move right before they start free agency and trading for Gary and I and I think Rashan Gary is better than some of the edge rushers that went out that that that that got paid out there.

00:28:27
Speaker 9: On the market.

00:28:28
Speaker 12: And if they wind up with both Gary and Hendrickson, well now you're talking about kind of reimagining who you are on the defensive front, especially if a guy like Azarak who can.

00:28:38
Speaker 9: Take another step.

00:28:39
Speaker 12: So free agency is not over yet, We're not even twenty four hours in, so you know, I think that I think the Cowboys defense is going to look significantly different by the time we get to the beginning of May when the draft is over.

00:28:53
Speaker 9: And uh and and and.

00:28:54
Speaker 12: Maybe we'll see another move or two as part of that in the next day or two.

00:29:00
Speaker 2: Good to talk to you is always know you're busy.

00:29:02
Speaker 9: Thank you, Albert, awesome, Thanks Dan, appreciate it.

00:29:05
Speaker 2: It's Albert Breer.

00:29:06
Speaker 1: Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio dot Com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to listen live.

00:29:18
Speaker 2: I ran down the DraftKings odds after yesterday's the free agency frenzy for the Super Bowl odds, the Ramsey your favorite, followed by the Seahawks and the Ravens their time. Then it's the Bills, Chiefs, Packers, Niners, Eagles, Chargers, Lions, and Fritzi wanted to know. One of our callers wanted to know where the Broncos. Well, the Patriots are next, then the Texans. Then it's the Broncos, Jags and Bears. Then it's the Bengals. Bengals have better odds than the Cowboys and the Buccaneers and the Steelers and the Vikings and the Colds and the Commanders. Wow, so you start to look. I guess it's surprising.

00:30:01
Speaker 9: Now.

00:30:02
Speaker 2: I will be surprised if the Patriots make the playoffs this year. I just think they'll be a little bit of a dip. But they're probably eleventh best odds. Then the Texans, they're actually tied with the Patriots, and then the Broncos as well. And as one of the callers said, hey, you know, we're a healthy ankle away from going to the Super Bowl, and you're probably right. The Jags, Jags at plus twenty five hundred, the Bears plus twenty five hundred. Then you got the Bengals plus three thousand, the Coump Cowboys plus thirty five hundred, but the Buccaneers and the Steelers Steelers at plus five thousand, Vikings plus six thousand. That'll improve once they get Kyler Murray. In my opinion, the Steelers, I'm assuming Aaron Rodgers will be back. I don't know if there's any possibility he could go elsewhere or the Steelers would entertain Kyler Murray. But Albert Brea, the Monday Morning quarterback, joined us last hour and he said, Kyler wants to go to the Vikings. It's just a question of do the Vikings won him? All right, whole question for the final hour of the program. Seat it's going to be what.

00:31:14
Speaker 3: We got many We got a million of them up there right now. Maybe some of our most eclectic slash diverse poll questions. Okay, the one from Paul who had the best day yesterday. Right now, Malik Willis has about forty nine percent of that vote, followed by Fernando Mendoza.

00:31:28
Speaker 4: Yes, Paul didn't beyond financially he was going to get paid anywhere. Did Milik Willis' career get better noticeably better?

00:31:37
Speaker 2: Well, he has a chance to be a starting quarterback.

00:31:40
Speaker 4: On a team that had a fire sale and has very few weapons left in the cupboard.

00:31:47
Speaker 2: I don't know. It feels are you saying he should have stayed in Green Bay as a backup quarterback instead of going to Miami?

00:31:53
Speaker 4: Now I would say, was there a better football option out there? Because the money would have probably been equal.

00:31:58
Speaker 2: I don't think there is unless he was going to go to Arizona, Because it feels like the Vikings are going to go with Kyler Murray. Do you want to go to Arizona? Do you want to go to Miami?

00:32:08
Speaker 9: Yeah?

00:32:09
Speaker 2: I mean.

00:32:11
Speaker 9: Yeah, Seed.

00:32:12
Speaker 3: I mean if you look at the teams that were maybe interested in them, right at the Dolphins, Cardinals, Browns, Jets, maybe with the Steelers, I suppose could have been maybe the Vikings, but maybe they weren't. Maybe that money wasn't right, you know, this might have been we might think that there were more people interested in them than there really were.

00:32:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, and the money, I mean, it's not a lot to get a guy who's going to be a starting quarterback three years, and it's sixty seven and a half million dollars total. That's pretty good, pretty.

00:32:50
Speaker 3: Good, especially since you just spent three hundred and fifty million for one year.

00:32:54
Speaker 9: At two.

00:32:54
Speaker 3: It's an unbelievable bargain.

00:32:56
Speaker 2: Not exactly that, but close. My numbers might be off a little bit.

00:33:00
Speaker 4: Yes, Paul next year two will make fifty six point five million dollars fifty five. I double checked this. He's gonna make fifty six point five to a next year fifty five from Miami, one point five from Atlanta. Malik Willis will make twenty three million next year. Fernanda Mendoza will make thirty three point five million. That combines for fifty six million.

00:33:22
Speaker 9: Yeah.

00:33:23
Speaker 2: So it was a wild day yesterday from start to finish. And still you know, Trey Hendrickson could end up with the Cowboys Kyler Murray. He's going to be released tomorrow and I think he'll end up with the Vikings. The Malik Willis to the Dolphins, I wasn't surprised that he went there. I was kind of surprised at the philosophy of the Dolphins. Why not just let quinn Ewers play and then you'll be in the market for a franchise quarterback next Year's probably what Arizona is thinking. They brought in Gardner Minshew there so feels like they'll have a room full of backup quarterbacks that somebody has to start there. I like, what the race did? They spend some money, but it's only the first day and you know there'll be bits and pieces to fill in. But also what does this mean for certain teams with the draft? That's what interests me, probably more so as we move into the second and third day of free agency. All Right, so new pole questions, Seaton or did you just clean up the previous questions?

00:34:22
Speaker 10: That was one?

00:34:22
Speaker 2: We got a bunch more here.

00:34:23
Speaker 3: Here's one from the mind of Todd Fritz with their latest moves, and if Fernando Mendoza proves to be the real deal, the Raiders are silver and back.

00:34:33
Speaker 2: Question mark right now? Your options there? Are you? Bet you or easy there? Easy there?

00:34:38
Speaker 3: Right now? Is that seventy seven percent of that vote canceling Magic City Night was smart or lame? Right now? The Lames have that at fifty four percent of the audience. Let's see there was another one in here too that I can't seem to find which is a better movie. Wedding crashers are old school, that is straight up fifty to fifty right now. And whose career would you want? Luke Wilson or Owen Wilson eighty percent Owen Wilson.

00:35:04
Speaker 2: Dang Luke.

00:35:05
Speaker 3: You're gonna take that?

00:35:06
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Todd.

00:35:11
Speaker 6: Has Luke been in anything I've noted? Very recently? I see him on some phone commercial walking in the desert with a dog. As far as comparing Owen.

00:35:17
Speaker 2: And Luke's career, I don't know what Luke's been in a.

00:35:21
Speaker 6: Recently bias alone.

00:35:22
Speaker 9: I would go Owen as well.

00:35:24
Speaker 2: Okay, uh Owen uh is in a golf series I think, Uh, don't know what it's called, but I saw the promotional campaign around then. But I don't know what Luke's been involved in. Yeah, they've been, They've carved out some nice careers, sir, Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Can you do an impersonation if it's only one word, like you did your bread FARV.

00:35:53
Speaker 3: Every impersonation I have is essentially there's one word.

00:35:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, course course, yeah. All right, we'll get to some phone calls here quiet day so far with free agency. Congratulations to Troy and Furman. They have punched their tickets to that big dance. Team USA drop Mexico. And it was fun to watch it is It's one of those where I go, I don't know if I want to watch, and then I watch and I go, why do I say, I don't know if I want to watch it. I'm watching Korea against Australia and I'm going, all right, the environment is pretty good, pretty good. And now Team USA, I think they have Italy coming up? Is that right? And you throw out the records when those two get together. You just never know. Italy known for their baseball.

00:36:54
Speaker 3: Italian baseball is no joke, Yes, Marvin, But here's the thing.

00:36:58
Speaker 10: The Italians. Are they Italian Americans or are they like straight from Rome? Like is that Mike Piazza? Like, you know what, I have great grandfathers that came over from the old Country.

00:37:13
Speaker 2: Mean, I don't know the roster. Maybe maybe you look at the roster and see how many players are from the United States.

00:37:20
Speaker 10: Yes, Marvin, I just got word from our expert, Mario that it's a lot of Italian Americans. Okay, So like the Rocco Baldelli's of the world are.

00:37:29
Speaker 2: Roc obell Okay, yes, pol.

00:37:31
Speaker 4: I have the Italy baseball roster up on my screen at all times, but it's it's probably two thirds USA born. Quickly looking at it, there's actually players that are born in both Canada and Venezuela on the Italy roster, which is interesting. So I would say it's mostly USA born players.

00:37:50
Speaker 2: Sunday Night Basketball and NBC in Peacock. Every Sunday night you got Nixon the Warriors Sunday Night on NBC and Peacock. We talked a little bit about SGA hitting the game winner last night, and he had a stat line that only one other player we believe in NBA history, at least when they started keeping these stats, Lebron James, where he went for thirty five point fifteen and no turnovers, also hitting the game winner. Tony in California leads this off final hour.

00:38:19
Speaker 5: Hey Tony, Hey guys, good morning. Oh I'm so incredibly happy man. The Clippers beat the Knicks to reach five hundred, slid into the eighth spot. I'm a believer. We're so good now, even when we lose to the Spurs, we've made Wemby cry and he said, quote, it was the toughest game of my career. That's the most physical team in the league. I'm a believer, Dan, I know you're still a little incredulately.

00:38:47
Speaker 2: I'm going to have to wait. I'm going to play the long game with the Clippers there. I'm just curious what happens to Kawhi Leonard after, you know, they do that investigation. I don't know what the commissioner's waiting on, but it feels like Pablo Torre is still kind of trolling the commissioner of what are you waiting for here with Kawhi Leonard and somehow does he end up a free agent? Let's see, how about Zach and Knoxville? Hi, Zach, what's on your mind today?

00:39:21
Speaker 7: Hedp, thanks for taking my call. I'm pretty sure that all that Magic City gear is going to the same place that the eighteen and O Patriots.

00:39:33
Speaker 9: Super Bowl gear is going.

00:39:35
Speaker 7: There was a story on ESPN years ago about how they send that out to Africa or you know, certain places. So there's going to be a bunch of kids walking around with some Magic City swag, and I was just wondering if you know, remember you had that conversation with Jonah Hill about if he was you know, if he's not as funny if he since he got skinnier, do you think it would have the reverse effect on Todd?

00:40:05
Speaker 2: If Todd got skinnier, he might be funnier. Wow, I didn't expect that from Zach.

00:40:16
Speaker 6: They don't get funnier when you get skimmy. And that was totally unnecessary to drawing a kind of.

00:40:20
Speaker 2: Connection to Zach gets it.

00:40:24
Speaker 3: Zach gets it.

00:40:27
Speaker 9: A little bit of a reach. Just g's at the shot, and how about we try it?

00:40:31
Speaker 2: Todd?

00:40:34
Speaker 6: Well, that's something I should be working on humor or not. I should be working on dropping some lbs. But I find it hard to believe that as you get slimmer, you would become funnier. That just doesn't seem like that would happen. There's very few funny well Jerry Seinfeld, but you want to see someone that's like kind of out of shape and sweaty and angry and sarcastic, So well, how come I'm not funny?

00:40:53
Speaker 3: That Chapel's not chubby? And Adam you know, Chris Chobby.

00:41:00
Speaker 2: People with uh you know, are you calling Will Ferrell fan?

00:41:06
Speaker 6: I think it's easier probably to laugh with and at somebody if they got good material and you're like, thank goodness, I don't look like that, and they're saying something funny, they got a better chance of getting some chuckles.

00:41:16
Speaker 2: Okay, right, thank you, sirch Yeah thanks Zach. Yeah, yes, PAULI you could.

00:41:23
Speaker 4: Go the other way Todd and put on twenty and see if he would get even more funny.

00:41:27
Speaker 6: Yeah, just where I might get a laugh that I just got even more calories.

00:41:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a rough moment when I'm uh bringing that up to Jonah Hill because he had lost weight and I was just curious, do people look at you differently? I wasn't saying you're not as funny. I was saying, do people look at you? And he didn't appreciate that. He did not appreciate That was his last appearance on the show. Yes, yes, and I think Will Ferrell likes to remind me of that moment with Joe that unfortunate.

00:42:01
Speaker 4: Yes, yes, Paul, this might be irony. But if you remember the movie Funny People with Standler Jonah Hill's seth Rogan, Jonah Hill's character says something about Zach about Rogan's character, You're you're not as funny now that you're in shape, or something like that. He actually says that in the movie because in the movie he gets in shape.

00:42:24
Speaker 2: Maybe that's where I got it from.

00:42:25
Speaker 4: I remember that line from the movie. I don't remember exactly the line.

00:42:28
Speaker 2: But I remember Jonah Hill going, Dan, are you really gonna ask me that? I went, yeah, yes, not to.

00:42:38
Speaker 3: Sort of pile on, but it was right around the same era that you asked a college football coach if their weight impacted their ability to recruit, and they didn't appreciate that.

00:42:51
Speaker 4: I remember the name and the question.

00:42:52
Speaker 5: I do too.

00:42:53
Speaker 3: I was just trying to leave that out, but that they also did not appreciate that question.

00:43:00
Speaker 2: And that's why we don't win his sports in me right there? You know, I give it and I take it away. AnyWho, Yes, Todd, not everybody.

00:43:12
Speaker 6: Gets your sense of humor. That's what it all comes down to.

00:43:14
Speaker 1: Your wife says it, everybody says it.

00:43:15
Speaker 10: They said, mind, you just gotta loosen up.

00:43:17
Speaker 9: A little bit.

00:43:17
Speaker 2: Do you think I'm too thin to be funny?

00:43:21
Speaker 8: Me?

00:43:21
Speaker 1: Personally?

00:43:22
Speaker 2: I'd left a lot of things you said over the years.

00:43:24
Speaker 6: I don't think weight does.

00:43:26
Speaker 2: But I'm your boss. I'm your boss. Yeah.

00:43:28
Speaker 6: But that being said, you know we've given taken shots at each other over the last twenty plus years, so that doesn't get in the way of that.

00:43:34
Speaker 2: But if I gain twenty pounds, we'll be hilarious than you. Dan and Naples. Hi, Dan, what's on your mind today?

00:43:44
Speaker 13: Quick question for Marv based on your Buffalo take. Do you think Dak's fiance and her fans are happier with her second round exit or do you think they would have been happier, you know, making it to the big show.

00:43:55
Speaker 5: I'll hang up and listen.

00:43:57
Speaker 2: So, Dak Prescott and his fiance it broke it up? Would you rather just be dating or make it all the way to you have a bachelor bachelorette party and then all of a sudden you decide you're not getting married?

00:44:12
Speaker 10: Marvin, Well, they didn't get married, so he probably he won in this in this scenario.

00:44:19
Speaker 2: Right, so you'd rather do Did she win?

00:44:24
Speaker 10: I'm talking about dead, so that would I don't know.

00:44:27
Speaker 2: What happened in this relationship.

00:44:29
Speaker 10: I don't either.

00:44:30
Speaker 2: They both they both had their bachelor bachelorette parties and then all of a sudden they announced that they weren't getting married. Yes, Todd, Yes, can of worms.

00:44:38
Speaker 6: But we're kind of what we're hinting at and dancing around the elephant the room. Would you sign a prenup or expect your future spouse to sign a prenup is kind of what we're saying.

00:44:47
Speaker 2: Uh TMZ debunk that story, Yeah, full debunking, debunking. Harvey Levin debunk debunk that.

00:44:56
Speaker 9: It's a fine question to ask.

00:44:58
Speaker 2: Okay, if your wife mad a whole lot of money, would you sign a prenup? Tod?

00:45:05
Speaker 6: I would be I'd be offended at first, like, really, you're already planning on getting divorced, and you're, OK, you're worried about me taking half. But if I really loved her, and I would probably go, see.

00:45:13
Speaker 2: She's got a billion dollars, but you have to sign a pre nup.

00:45:17
Speaker 6: And she's like smoking hot and everything and all that kind of thing, and I'm just really head over heels. There's no other on the planet which she looks like.

00:45:23
Speaker 2: I like that.

00:45:24
Speaker 3: Right now, you're you're debating whether you should sign a prenup if this smoking hot billionaire one, because I.

00:45:30
Speaker 6: Don't know what I'm gonna get in the future. This may be my only chance for me. But I would sign it. I guess, yeah, i'd sign it.

00:45:36
Speaker 4: Yes, Paul, I think I would sign it if I married someone who had a gigantic career financially before we met, and a prenup you still get something. It's not you walk out with a zero.

00:45:47
Speaker 2: Well, a lot of times you get paid with each year of marriage. So let's say you get a million dollars with each year of marriage. Then you get to twenty five years and you get a ten million dollar bonus Seaton prenup you sign?

00:46:05
Speaker 9: Would I?

00:46:05
Speaker 3: Of course?

00:46:06
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would too.

00:46:08
Speaker 3: It's really not a big deal to me.

00:46:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's her money, she made it. You're fine, well, but I'll now, would you ask somebody to sign a pre Let's say you're worth a billion todd would you ask your fiance to sign a prenup?

00:46:25
Speaker 6: I would say, can you just sign something from me? And I wouldn't you know, just kind of block out to redact what's on there?

00:46:30
Speaker 9: No, I would, Uh, I probably would.

00:46:32
Speaker 6: I would ask for if she woul wouldn't mind signing.

00:46:35
Speaker 2: That, but you but you, you'd be offended if your wife and your.

00:46:40
Speaker 6: Yes, initially, Initially I would be like I'd be offended, would be my initial reaction, Like, you're worried about me. That's why I'm in this because I want half your money if this doesn't work out, And then I would calm down and say, yeah, where do I sign?

00:46:52
Speaker 10: Yes, Martin, if she helped me build a billion, no, But if I come in already as a billionaire, yes.

00:47:00
Speaker 5: Preen up.

00:47:01
Speaker 2: Yes, sir, Let's take a break and we'll get more phone calls. You got women?

00:47:06
Speaker 5: Do you know?

00:47:09
Speaker 2: No, I didn't make any money when I met my wife.

00:47:12
Speaker 3: It'd be an awkward conversation to have now though, I was just thinking, what do we get our paperworking order?

00:47:16
Speaker 2: What do you think about a premium?

00:47:18
Speaker 3: That would be an awkward one now at this point in the game.

00:47:20
Speaker 9: What a bad idea?

00:47:21
Speaker 4: Are releasing a car?

00:47:22
Speaker 2: What's this paperwork? It's a bad idea? Yeah, posting up you know it would be It would be a tough initial conversation. But no, I I didn't make any money. She didn't make any money. She gonna have it all when I go. She can have it all. I don't care
