Monster Territory: What's Next for Red Sox after Contreras trade?

We've had that intro for a little bit now, but that intro gets me revved up every single time. I'm just gonna say it, But hi doing everybody, Welcome to the episode here tonight. Uh hey, We've had a lot going on here over the last four hours or so. I meane, we were live last night at this time talking about the big trade with Wilson Contreras. You know, there was a lot to think about with that one last night, because you know, you had to react to the contrerass move, which I did, like I'll go over that yet again here and just little bit, but we're all thinking, all right, who is gonna be the next bat? You know, are you gonna be really looking for a big bopper out there? Or are you gonna look to bring Alex Bregman backs? Could someone like Boba Schett be on the menu. There's a lot of different ways you could have gone. And we were here for a little bit last night. I was kind of thinking through things. I've had a little bit of time to digest everything, kind of simplify my thoughts, and I'm gonna go over those thoughts here in tonight's episode. A lot of familiar faces here in the chat. Thank you everybody for coming on by. Hope you're all having a great day. What is today? Today's Monday. Hope you're all having a great Monday. So, yeah, we've got Christmas in a few days. I mean, that's how chaotic it's been. I'm looking at the date and I don't even realize it's Christmas in a few days. My goodness. I gotta go finish up some shopping. Hope you're all doing well with your Christmas shopping. But let's get to it here. I'm rambling. We got a lot to talk about. So Wilson Contreras is official. He is official. I mean take a look at that. I mean take a look at that. I mean, listen, Wilson concraras. He's a handsome man, but he looks even more handsome in a Red Sox uniform, I must say. But going over this yet again, I'm a big fan of it. Wilson was one of the players I would have liked the Red Sox to add of course, you know, you're looking at guys like Brek been out there, Ka tell Marte, Boba, Schet and with Contreras, I think he's an above average bat. I think he's a solid guy to have in the lineup, a guy that's gonna give you I think around twenty to twenty five home runs. He's gonna get on base. I think he's gonna attack that green monster. I think he's gonna be a really nice bat to have in the lineup. And with Contreras, he's gonna give you good defense, ave first base. So I think it was a really nice player to add for the Red Sox. Also just the mentality that he brings. This guy's a competitor. He wants to go out there and win. Big fan of Wilson Contreras, I've always been pretty high on him, but I never really viewed him as the you know, that big old monster in the middle of the order like Manny ramire Is or David Ortiz or Raffie Devers or Mookie Right or JD. Martinez. Even just a solid guy there to have. Very happy with it, but the question is who is going to be the next bat? And you know, I thought about it more. I thought about it more, you know, getting back to you know, all that power. You know you're thinking of, like, Okay, who's going to be this middle of the order bat for the Red Sox. Well, I thought about it here today. I'm like, well, you know, there's really only one guy you can realistically go after at this point. Who knows if it's even still a realistic but you're looking at someone like a tel Marte who he gives you the best shot of giving you anywhere from thirty to thirty five home runs, maybe even a little bit more than that. But I thought to myself, you know, if he's really the only guy that gives you that sure thing, and you're not able to acquire him, that are not able to come up with some kind of a trade, well then where are you going to get that back? We're gonna get those home runs from? And you know, I kind of thought about it. I'm like, you know what, maybe they stretch out this lineup as much as possible. Maybe you don't necessarily need to have that Masher right, that forty home run kind of a guy. And listen, you might be thinking, oh, Robbie's coping. I mean, Robbie's on his cope fest here, no, no, no, no, necessarily hear me out here, hear me out If you think about it, right, you got guys that I think are gonna have a bit of a bump when it comes to the power. I think Roman Anthony, you're gonna see a bit of a boost. There had eight home runs last year. I think maybe around twenty ish twenty five home runs maybe, I think that's a safe bet. Wait, Roman, I'm looking at the all around impact that he's gonna bring. He's gonna get on Bastrea, He's gonna hit for some decent average and he'll give you a little pop as well. A Roman Anthony impact player. I definitely think he's gonna give you a little boost there in the home runs. If you bring just for example, if you bring back Alex Bragman, I think that's if healthy for the full season, I think safe bet. Twenty to twenty five home runs Marcella Meyer, if he's in the lineup every day, if healthy, that is a big if. Well, then I think you see a boost in home runs from him as well. Will you or Bray you, I mean, listen, this guy was on pace for twenty five to thirty home runs, and then he got hurt. And we'll talk about Willier in a little bit. Looks like maybe he could be getting some more chances at everyday opportunities to go up against left handed pitching. But I think with Willier, with the power that he has, I think you could see somewhere from twenty five to thirty home runs. I don't see why not. And then Tristan Costas I did mention him a lot here last night because I'm thinking, where's that power coming from? Well, Cossas is really that big old bopper there, and you know, if he comes back, you know, at some point, I'm not gonna, you know, make any solid bets that he's gonna give you, you know, thirty home runs, but you know, maybe you could tap if he gets himself back on track, maybe can tap into something there. And then I kind of did some math somehow, someway, my potent o'braen actually did some math. RAFFI if you take out the fifteen home runs that he hit for the Red Sox last year, and you add up all these other home runs that are coming from all these different places, well, the Red Sox, they would have been top ten in home runs this past year. So again, do you necessarily need to have it coming from one spot. I think you would like that. I think we would love David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, right, Jad Martinez, Muki whatever, RAFFI. But maybe you could spread this out, Maybe you could deepen this lineup. I mean, listen, let me go over this line up here for you. Let me go over this lineup again. This is subject to change. I know a lot of things can still happen here. It's not even Christmas. But let's say you had Roman leading off. Let's say you brought back Bregman. Let's say you still keep Duran He's batting third, Contreras batting fourth, Story batting fifth, Will You're batting sixth, Nervaias batting seventh, Marcella Meyer batting eighth, SETI batting ninth. I don't know what happens to Masa. There's a lot of what is I know a lot of people you're gonna go in the comments and be like, oh, Robbie, what about this? And I just listen to the lineup. I just said, you know, that's a pretty deep lineup. The fact that you'd have Will You're batting six nervias batting seventh. I mean, that's pretty decent if you ask me again, No, you don't got that forty to fifty home run kind of a guy like Schwarburg or Alonso. But you got a lot of like there. And that's a little difficult to navigate if you ask me. And I'd like it, but there's a lot of question marks and we do have to take a look. We do have to take a look at Craig Breslo's comments. He actually spoke to the media. Spoke to the media. Can you believe it. He spoke to the media. And let's get to it here. I'm actually gonna use Chris Catillo. Please go follow Chris Catillo if you're not already, I'm sure most of you are. But he put most of the important quotes. Thank you Chris for putting these out there. I owe you one, my friend. But taking a look at some of these comments talked about Wilson, Contreras primarily sees Wilson at first base, maybe some DH opportunities, while not fully ruling out catching reps but not promising them by any means. This is kind of what I was saying last night. I think You're mostly going to see him at first base. He's got that great defense over there, taking a look at the stat cast page, very good range over at first base this year. He's got that arm strength. He's a very good first baseman, and he took to it very well in his first year. He has that good athleticism. There were a couple of issues when it came to Contreras when you know, the a couple of the little things, right, you know, some of the game calling, you know, the framing. But Wilson he always had a good arm and he moved well back there. So he's a really nice fit over at first base. So yeah, you're mostly gonna see him at first base DH some days. You know, especially if Cossas ends up coming back, I could definitely see them mixing and matching. Korra likes to do that with the lineups, and you know what, do I see him catching at some point? Well? I think this is also pretty strategic because you know, Narvaias he was running into a couple of things. He was getting dinged up this year long. I mean that bat basically disappeared in the first half. He was dealing with some things this past year. We found out later on. So who knows, maybe you could have an opportunity where Wilson you maybe need him behind the place. So I think he's nice to have in that essence, right. He talked about Tristan Cosis here, and I'm glad he said something about Tristan Cossus because I was looking back at the stream from last night and I think I'm thinking to myself today, Man, did I get a little ahead of myself, you know, banking on Cassus or banking on you know, maybe what the front office felt about Cassus, you know, because you don't really know what's gonna happen there. He's coming back from a major injury, so I don't know. But he did say here, he did speak a lot of confidence of causes say, we still have a ton of confidence and belief in Tristan. There's going to be an opportunity for him to impact as for us. And you know, say what he will about Cassus. I know he's been polarizing with you know, just his ca You know, he likes to have fun out there, he likes to speak his mind. He's a he's a free spirit out there. Listen. I'm all I'm Okay, with whatever the heck you do. But if you're hitting some dingers that that's that's gonna be great. So with Casas, he has shown that ability in the past, he has shown that power upside. Did struggle before going down with that injury, but with Casas, we know that power's there. But I like this bringing in Wilson because you can just ease Cassas back in. That's what I've been talking about, and that's what I was talking about even with Alonso, right if you brought him in, that would be nice for Casus because there's no pressure on him to come back. He can just come back at his own pace. So same thing here with Contreras, you're set at first base. But with Costas coming back eventually, I think you could see him as a guy that ends up becoming your everyday d Ach May he plays a little first base. I think that's very possible. Who knows what happens with Masa at that point, but I think Kasas has that ability to mostly be your DH and give you that power upside if he can get back to what he was doing. But I like this because it really brings down the pressure with him. He can come back when he feels like he is, when they feel like he's good to go. Now, moving on to the juicy stuff here, let's talk about the juicy stuff. Well, Craig goes on to say, we recognize that at this point the roster is probably incomplete, adds that adding another bat is a target and a priority. Breslo says the focus now is on position players, with pitching on the back burner. He doesn't rule out further pitching additions, especially in the bullpen, but it's clear another bat is what they view as the final big piece. So again, you know, getting back to what I was talking about, you know, with the lineup, if that is the way you're going to go, Like if you don't end up getting Marte, let's say you bring back Bregman or Bow and you go for that length. Right, I mean, either one of those guys is gonna add length. But I'm more saying, if you know, if you opt for Bregman or Bow, you're probably looking at a little bit less pop compared to someone like Marte. Right, if it's Bregman or Bau not Marte, I still think you have a very strong lineup and there's good potential. So the question is who is that bat going to be? Well, I think plan A. I mean you can you can decide what your Plan A is, your Plan B, your Plan CE. I'm trying to think in terms of the front office. Well. I would like to think. Maybe this is wishful thinking, maybe this is hopeful thinking, but I would like to think that Bregman is the Plan A. Don't need to go into it anymore. Great fit on off the field, you know the drill. That's how it is. A Bregman fits like a glove. My gut would like to think that they will end up offering him a solid offer. Do I think that's going to be the top offer? I would bet money that they probably don't end up giving him the biggest offer. I'd like to think that maybe the Diamondbacks end up offering him more years, Maybe the Cubs end up offering him maybe a higher AAV. Possibly, I don't know. I think you could see teams have better parts of an offer compared to the Red Sox. I think some other teams could have more years. I think maybe some teams could have a higher AAV. I would like to think, and I hope the Red Sox do give him a very strong offer that's going to make it tough on his decision. You traded away Raffi, you brought in Bregman. Well, you brought in Bregman first, but then you ended up moving Raffi. That free up the payroll, That opened up the opportunity to move that money over to Bregman. I'd like to think that's the way they're gonna go. I know, the Red Sox you can say what you will when it comes to the spending. And I know we've seen the reports saying they don't really want to go very long on guys that are over thirty. I mean, we'll see what ends up happening. I would like to think the Red Sox at some point come to their senses and say, all right, Alex, five year offer, we can maybe throw in an option, maybe even a four year deal with an option or a couple of options, something around that. Maybe. I don't think again they're going to offer him the most in terms of flat years, but I think they will, I hope, give him a strong offer that's definitely gonna make him contemplate. And I would like to think, well, I don't want to say I would like to think, but I think that they're going to bank on the fact that he did enjoy his time. I'm here, they enjoyed having him, his wife liked it in Boston. They have a couple of chos are and gives them an opportunity to, you know, settle down. I'd like, I'm thinking they're gonna bank on that, and they hope he ends up saying yes, that's kind of where I'm at. But then I also have a little pause with that, a little bit of pause. You look at the CBT right now, looking at or the current payroll for the Red Sox, looking at the current payroll, Well, with hold on a second, I can't go further down. I apologize, like, Okay, well, whatever the current payroll for the Red Sox is at two forty three. If you add Bregman, I'm gonna get roughly aav right around thirty million. You're depending on the deferred money. If you do that, and you know, however that works out, you're probably gonna be around that two seventy mark, and you're gonna be over the second CBT. I wonder if what the Red Sox think about that, that that also applies to Bobachett. You're probably gonna be giving anywhere from I think twenty five twenty eight million for Boba Schett. You're gonna be either one of those guys. You're gonna be around that second CBT probably over it. So that's where I do have a little bit of pause again, wishful thinking maybe that they end up giving him a strong offer that's gonna be tough for him to decide on. But I wonder if they do go that far, I don't know. I really don't know what they're gonna do. I'm not sure. That's kind of where I'm at with Bragman, and I think in the end they're going to wait on his decision or because it's it's tough, because you could say, well, why not just pivot to Marte right now? Why not just pivot to bo Well, maybe the Diamondbacks want to wait on a Catel Marte deal because they're in the race for Bregman. They would like to bring him in. I would imagine they would like to have him first before moving Marte. That's kind of the way I think because there are some payroll things going on. There's been some question marks, so the d bacs payroll, so I mean, I don't think they're gonna trade Marte and then and then all of a sudden Bregman ends up leaving that's the way, or he ends up going elsewhere, so then they'd be completely out of everything, right. I mean, of course the d Backs could you know, trade Marte get young talent back, but I think they would like to have a solid player like Bregman in place, and then you could move Marte. Right, So I think the d Bacs wait there before they make a decision on Marte. I could be wrong, and Bo, you know, maybe he wants to wait for Bregman to come off the board because the Red Sox are involved, So I'm not sure how that goes. I think there's a bit of a connection between all three. And but because the Red Sox have the familiarity with Bregman, I think they would like to see what he ends up doing. It's kind of where I'm at. Another think with Bregman too. I mean, listen, I don't mean to be that guy, but he changed his Instagram picture. Ladies and gentlemen, there is something there that do you see that's a bee? That's a b on that hat. I'm just saying, I know he's with his wonderful son at the All Star Game. But that is a bee on the hat, just pointing it out. Maybe that could be a sign. I don't know. I'm not gonna go too deep into it. It is there though, in case you like that stuff. But again, that's the way I'm thinking. I could be completely wrong and all of that, but I feel like the Red Sox is gonna wait on Bregman. If Bregman ends up going elsewhere, if he decides something else, well, I think you pivot to Marte. Let's say he goes to the Diamond Back. Well, I think there's a big caveat to that. If Bregman goes to Arizona, that's when I would like to think there's a better chance they move Marte. At that point, you could keep both for sure, but if there are you know, if they do want to lessen up that payroll a little bit, use Martes's value his trade value to go get some pitching, which they need, well, then I can see that scenario. So if Bregman goes to Arizona, I think that could open up the possibility for Marte. Really reminds me of Garrett Crochet last year. They missed out on freed, they pivoted to the White Sox. They went and got Crochet the next day. So I wonder if you could see a similar situation like that. I'm not sure I will say, though, I will say, got some birdies out there, got some birdies. I've been told that there is a bit of a disconnect when it comes to the talks. I heard good news around the winter meetings. I was hearing some good things, had some pushback as well from other sources. But lately I'm hearing there is a bit of a disconnect between the Red Sox and the d Backs when it comes to the talks, and that could possibly tye into the Bob Nightingale story that we saw where Nightingale said it's expected that the Red Sox are going to end talks for Marte. So unless something happens, someone wakes up differently, then you know, maybe they can change their mind. But I'm wondering what's happening there. I'm not so sure. I do think the Red Sox have the pieces to get a deal done if they chose to. Who knows what the disconnect is, who knows what's going on with those talks. Who knows if it's maybe the Red Sox not wanting to give up guys. Do the Diamondbacks view the Red Sox as not a great trade partner? I would like to think the former. I would like to think the Red Sox are holding tight onto guys Breslo, that he is a stubborn man. He is the word that's been thrown around, a stiff, that is the word that people like to say. But I could see him being very tight on those prospects, especially guys like Connolly, Early and Peyton Toley. So maybe the d Backs are thinking, all right, if you're not going to give up one of those guys or say Marcelo Meyer, well then probably not gonna have a deal. So I don't know, I'm not sure what the hold up is there, but you do I think you do have the pieces to get a deal done. Now. If Marte doesn't work out, well, then I think Bobachett makes a ton of sense. And if you were looking at that report with the Red Sox and not too keen on the longer term deals, well, difference with Bashett is he's only just about to turn twenty eight years old. He's a couple of years under thirty, so he's got that going for him. Maybe that's something the Red Sox prefer. Get back to the payroll again, that would put them over that second CBT most likely if they brought him in. I think you could even see a scenario where maybe maybe you even swap Bo and Marte when it comes to plan B Plan C. Maybe you know, people think, all right, let's just I could even see people. I can see people even thinking Bobachett should be planned a listen, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, whatever you want. They're all good. Well, I'll throw cookies and cream into the mix. I'm a big cookies and cream guy. Maybe cookie dough too, you know, I don't know, so I think one of these three guys makes sense. The one thing with Bashett that you got to think about is you would have to give up a draft pick, you would have I think you also have to give up international signing money because he's attacked with the qualifying offer, so that does come into play. So I could also see where maybe the Red Sox think, okay, well, for Marte, we'd have to give up a guy like Totally or Early, maybe even Brian Beao, maybe Marcelo Meyer one of those guys. Maybe the Red Sox would rather hang on to those prospects and think, okay, well with Bo, yes we have to give up a draft pick, international signing money, but I would think, I mean, I think they would. That's why I go back to Bregman. I think he's the sure thing, you know, because you don't have to give up anything except money, You don't have to give up talent, you don't to give up draft picks, whatever. So that's why another thing, I think Bregman just checks off so many boxes along with all the boxes he already checks off. But with Bo, compared to Marte, Now what would you rather give up? Would you rather give up totally and earlier totally or early with other guys, or give up a draft pick. So that's kind of where I could see Boushett maybe having an advantage there. He slides into second base, Myer moves over to third. Now we also had this, we got a little something from Ken Rosenthal as long as along with Will Salmon the Cardinals on the Red Sox also have discussed a trade that would send Brendan Donovan to Boston. Listen, are we gonna be the Boston Cardinals? Is it gonna be the Saint Louis Red Sox. Listen, the Red Sox broke up with him, but it seems like they're thinking, Man, we love we missed talking to him. We got to talk to him more often. Man, oh man, they just can't seem to get away from him. I don't know what's going on, but the Red Sox and the Cardinals, they are wheeling and dealing. I don't know, Craig breslo Heim Bloom, they're becoming best friends, like, you know, like step brothers. All right, the bunk beds man. No man, Donovan likely would play second base of the Red Sox, who have also been linked to Catel Marte. No deal is close, but Donovan almost certainly would bring a greater return than Gray or Contraris. Well, yes, he absolutely would. Let's go take a look here. Well that is really zoomed in goodness gracious, But for Donovan, I also listened a whole bunch of trade candidates here for you know what, it would guys that you could include in a package for Marte. No, I'm not saying all of these guys, but you could definitely work in you know, a couple of these guys, I think along with other pieces. But uh, let's do you know what is Cardinal or what is Donovan's trade value? It's pretty good. Listen. Donovan's a good player. He is a very good player, thirty two dollars worth of trade value surplus trade value. Why because he's not really making a whole ton of money and he's gonna give you good production. I saw someone today, I don't know where I saw this. My goodness, I had to bite my tongue a little bit. I saw someone. What is Donovan gonna give you? What more is he gonna give you instead of Romy and David Hamilton? Oh man, oh man. Of course, Donovan's gonna give you more production overall than Romy and David Hamilton. Listen. I love Romy, I love Romy, don't get me wrong. But Donovan is one of the better hitters in the game. He was right around the three wins above replacement last year. He was really good, guys, one of the top contact hitters in the game. He's a dirt dog kind of a player. He could play multiple positions, pretty good defense as well. I would love to have someone like Donovan if he's not my first option, but he's He's definitely there. If they ended up getting Donovan, I'd be pretty happy with that. Of course, now that you know, there's not a whole lot of pop with him, more contact and not really going to strike out, So you would definitely have to try and find some power there. But I like Donovan a lot. I couldn't believe someone I don't know, man, I couldn't believe someone said that. But it would cost a lot to get Donovan. I would imagine if you're the Red Sox here, I mean him would definitely he would have a lot more to work with on what he could get back compared to Sonny Gray and Wilson Contreras. I mean you've given up more of a depth I wanna say depth prospect, but a decent prospect in Brandon Clark with good stuff. Hunter Dobbins more of a depth starter. But someone would upside for the Cardinals. But you would definitely get better than that, I'll be honest, like, I'd imagine probably someone like franklin Arius would make some sense because they're getting an infielder back, So I think you could do something like him and then maybe you know, I don't know. I mean I would imagine maybe want to go for a bit more volume. Could you send back like like Marcus Phillips, you know a couple of guys like that, Anthony Anson, you know, so you would definitely get a decent amount. I would like to think Franklin Arius would be a part of that kind of a trade. That's just me, But I'm a big fan of Brandon Donovan. I really like his game hit two eighty seven last year, three fifty three on bas four twenty two on the slugging ten homers. Again, he's not gonna be, you know, batting third or fourth, but a guy that could bat lead off for you, a guy that he could bat second to mean Gebaut anywhere, he's gonna get the bat on the ball. I know lu Marloni would love to have someone like Donovan, so something to think about. I do think he's lower on the totem pole, but he's there. I think what I what I will say about Craig, what I've noticed about him over the last couple of years. He really sets himself up for a lot of possibilities. Right. I think he's still needs to work on that decisiveness. He has shown it, but there's times where he gets just very uptight, right, at least that's what I think, at least from the outside. I don't know where it seems maybe he likes to hang on to guys a little too much, right. You did see it at the deadline, you know, he ended up getting dustin May where that you know, kind of didn't really help all that much. I mean again, I've been hearing it here with Marte, so he's definitely hugging a little bit on the prospects. So but I will say he does lay out a lot of opportunities. Now. Speaking of speaking of opportunities, well, I mean, ladies and gentlemen, we got something else cooking. In the same article, on another front, a rival executive said Monday, the Red Sox have quietly shocked Brian Bayo, a characterization. A person briefed on Boston's conversations disputed. That person, however, said Beo's name often surfaces when teams ask about the Red Sox young pitching. I mean, listen, I said this how long ago. I tweeted this out about a month ago. I'm saying to myself, I mean, listen, Bao, he was solid last year, but when you look at the mextrics and what the Red Sox like to do. They want more swing and miss. Look at what they did with Richard Fitz Hunter Dobbins, two major league starters. Those guys weren't getting a whole lot of swing and miss. Same thing with Brian Bayo thirteenth percentile with the WIF percentage. Now, I like Bao a lot. I'm a big fan. But if the Red Sox were looking for a possible upgrade in the rotation for someone like Cole Reagan's, could you pop pssibly use Bao in that kind of a deal or for I'm sorry keep bringing up Marte, but could he be a guy that you send back in a Catel Marte trade where they need pitching over there, and he's on a very friendly contract, he's still under twenty seven years old. So that's where I think someone like Bao with what the Red Sox are trying to achieve, you know, when it comes to the pitching side of things, They're they've really revamped things over there. I mean, honestly, could you even see something where, you know, even for Donovan Right, I mean, could you even do something with Beao in a package for Donovan Right? I mean, I think you're getting pretty close in values there. With Donovan only is a couple more years of control. But Bao with the projections, because he lacks that swing and miss, he's uh, he's not going to have as high as projections. So it's an interesting possibility with him obviously, you know, he was here when Bao was coming through. You wonder if maybe that could be something just floating out ideas there probably not a good one anyway, but I want to be surprised that Beao's being brought up in different talks. You know, I said Cole Reagan's something with the Nationals. I don't know, maybe some kind of a package for Gore or whatever. Maybe do a three team trade and Bao goes elsewhere and then you bring in Gore or Reagan's or whatever, or again Marte, three way trade for Marte. I don't know. There's so many ideas, there's so many possibilities. But getting back to it, I do think Bao is is a possible trade candidate. And this is why I said it about a month ago, because he's not fully fitting the mold of what the Red Sox are going for. I like, baoh, that's not a knock against him. It's more of what the Red Sox think. But I wouldn't be surprised at all the ends up staying because he is a guy that he can give you good innings at the bottom half of the rotation, you know, as you're three, four, whatever it may be. So we'll see what ends up happening. We'll see what ends up happening. They're dragging me across the Cols Rob Refsneiner going to the Mariners. This opens up the possibility for Willier and Duran to get more abs against left handed pitching. I'm pretty sad, though, because I really like ref Snyder. He's been very good. He's been so good for the Red Sox. I think, honestly one of the more underrated players in the game. He's one of those just very key role players. There's been several over the years that have helped the Red Sox win games. He was another one of them. A guy that mashed Lefti's I mean, what a fun combination that was last year with him and Romill right. Basher's right, they're basically Mark Maguire Jose Canseco against lefties. He had a very solid time of the Red Sox over the four years at two seventy six, three sixty four on base, a four p forty on the slugging, a one twenty four WRC plus really good numbers, very good, good in the clubhouse, you know, just a good presence there. Man, I'm saying I understand it. I understand why the Red Sox are thinking, Hey, you know what, we've had a good run. We are going in a bit of a different direction. If you want to get will your more opportunities against left handed pitching, which I do think he needs if you end up keeping Duran, I think he needs to improve against left handed pitching. I think both those guys need to and this is going to be their shot. And I think this is what they're saying here, all right, it's time to start letting these guys try to take it to the next level, right Rob. I don't think it's anything against Rob. I think they would have liked to have had him, But I think the just going in a different direction here. I very appreciative if everything Rob did for the Red Sox over the last four years, he was solid. So in the end, I'm sad, no more Ginger, no more Rob. Sad day, sad day. But everybody, I'm gonna wrap it up right there.
