00:00:32
Speaker 2: Broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Hey, Steve Covino, Rich Davis. We celebrated twenty one years of doing a show together yesterday. Can believe that our show could legally drink?

00:00:47
Speaker 4: Wow?

00:00:48
Speaker 2: Well our show has a mustache now, oh boy, getting old man, and we're still the youngest in the game.

00:00:55
Speaker 1: I don't know how. I don't know how.

00:00:56
Speaker 2: But we started very young. That's it. It's let's be rocking at her by sort of like Dave Chappelle. And no, I'm not making myself the Dave Chappelle of radio. He started at ten. But Dave Chappelle is younger than you think. Is He started doing comedy in the clubs and he was a teenager.

00:01:10
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:01:10
Speaker 2: No, So when you think of like young Chappelle and like half Baked and movies like that. He was like a kid. So what you's like fifty feels like way old ware to god. I was a young guy working at k Rock, New York. It's a great story, by the way, I can tell her that two second twenty second story. Young guy working at k Rock New York. Receptionist was like stepped away or something and it was someone at the door. So they're like, hey, Cavino, can you uh, someone's at the door. Can you go see who it is? And I walk out there and it's a young ass Dave Chappelle. He's like hey, and I was like hey, hey, and I recognized his face. It was like way before he was faced. We're talking really, this is the nineties. He's there in the lobby, like by the elevators, trying to get in, and I'm like, hey, man, Dave Chappelle, right, comedian guy.

00:02:02
Speaker 1: I know you, man, I'm a fan.

00:02:03
Speaker 2: I was a young guy in New York. I just maybe had seen him out a few times. I just knew who he was, and I go, what are you doing. He's like, I'm here to see Howard. He was there to see Howard Stern. But it was a day off, Howard Stern was not on the air. It was like holidays, like right around this time of year. It was a holiday season, and I was.

00:02:23
Speaker 1: Like, yo, Dave.

00:02:24
Speaker 2: I was like, I know you hear his voice on the air, but it's a replay. I was like, he's not here today. And he's like, oh, okay, well he made that face, you know, that stink face, like all right, you know that kind of face.

00:02:35
Speaker 1: And he goes, all right, well this never happened, and.

00:02:38
Speaker 2: He just walked, He walked his tail between his legs, hit the elevator button and like waved goodbye. And that was my first encounter with Dave Chappelle. But you're right, Rich, he was a young young man. He must have been seventeen nineteen around when he started comedy. So yeah, we celebrated twenty one years on the air together yesterday. 00:04:08
Speaker 3: Was well.

00:04:08
Speaker 2: I was saying, when you when you invite people over and you're a grown up, you're no longer like a dumb twenty year old solo guy.

00:04:15
Speaker 1: If you're twenty something, you're like Hey, well, you guys want to get together and watch a fight. You go from a Fred party one to Fred party of four.

00:04:21
Speaker 5: Real cool.

00:04:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, Like my buddy Jason is like, hey dude, and he put this in my head. He goes, I get you inviting me, me and my kid who you coach, or like my whole family, And I'm like.

00:04:31
Speaker 1: That's right.

00:04:32
Speaker 2: That's when you get old families like five. Yeah, you need to like specify. He's got three kids and a wife, so there's a big difference of you want to come watch the fight, so how do you. I think the rules are implied like this when you invite people like, yeah, my wife is having a girl's night or she's going out to dinner with her friend, so it's sort of spoken that she's not going to be there, so no need to bring your wife.

00:04:53
Speaker 1: My wife even.

00:04:54
Speaker 2: Said to me, she goes, are you doing this like a boys night? She's like, I'll go out with one of my girlfriends for dinner and drop our daughter at her friend's house. You can keep our son at the house and it could be like a boys' night, so.

00:05:05
Speaker 1: It's not a holiday.

00:05:06
Speaker 2: I think holiday party implies bring your significant other fight fight night. Means like hey, like, yeah, if your wife's in the fighting bringer otherwise bro's knight. All right, let's go to Barb in Illinois. Barb, what's a specified info you got to get for these type of parties?

00:05:22
Speaker 1: Hey, Barb?

00:05:23
Speaker 4: Hi, how you doing? He's my voice? I have a cold. It's been timberlow here.

00:05:29
Speaker 1: So they got back to get a scarf? Yeah?

00:05:33
Speaker 6: Really?

00:05:33
Speaker 4: And I'm Cally born and raised. How's that one? Rich needs to specify. I'm having a few guys over to watch the fight.

00:05:45
Speaker 1: No, Barb's allowed.

00:05:48
Speaker 3: For me work.

00:05:49
Speaker 4: No, seriously, if you say come on over, you know we're having to get together. The weird implies right there. It's Rich and this so for Itch if you just want the guy, Yeah, yeah, having a few guys over.

00:06:06
Speaker 2: But there's nothing wrong with that, right, there's nothing wrong with the guys night fight night. And less of course, like I said, of course, your your daughter or your wife happened to be huge fight fans, and yeah, sure they're involved, but most aren't.

00:06:18
Speaker 1: Let's be real about that. Uh, Dave or date in Kentucky? What's up? Man?

00:06:23
Speaker 3: Let's well, first of all, hope any witch poles on end, but I'm not far, but you've got to specific.

00:06:31
Speaker 7: You got a man cave or a mang garage.

00:06:33
Speaker 3: Hey, guys are getting together to watch about few Grange.

00:06:37
Speaker 4: You're welcome to come.

00:06:39
Speaker 2: You know, I think this is a more topical and relevant situation, Rich than you even realize. Because it's a holiday weekend, it's the holiday season. Hey guys, Hey, I think that you know, people are going to find themselves in a stickier situation of yeah, it's okay. We're in the middle of December, like yeah, yeah, you like having people over for like some holiday fun or are you just like yeah, sorry, kids, sorry, wifey. I'm going to watch the fight at Rich's house. And they're thinking, yeah, it's the holidays. I thought we were all going out together. So it's a peculiar time to have a big fight like this on a Friday night. Jake, Paul, Anthony, Joshua with this Friday on Netflix. They go, you know, let's say one more phone call, will move along, Jersey, everybuddy Mitch wants to talk about the Rams.

00:07:27
Speaker 1: I believe what's up.

00:07:28
Speaker 2: There, Mitch, Harry, Christmas, guys, Merry Christmas, Brother, Happy Hanukah too.

00:07:37
Speaker 7: There has been a great football season. I think.

00:07:41
Speaker 3: The Rams, Rams and Charge of football. What's the chance that have that'd be great for you guys, Rams and Chargers.

00:07:48
Speaker 2: They would both just have to drive up the West coast to San Francisco, but Rams and Chargers as possible.

00:07:55
Speaker 1: Are you gonna pretend that I hear the little nose picker in the back? How great is that?

00:07:58
Speaker 5: I love that?

00:07:59
Speaker 1: He's just He's like, be quiet, I'm on the radio, Mitch, leave him talking on the radio. Yeah, he's singing jingle bells in the back.

00:08:11
Speaker 8: You guys quick one, speaking of nosepickers. No, I'm kidding. Tonight I go to my first school concert for my son.

00:08:19
Speaker 7: I love that.

00:08:20
Speaker 5: Okay. I had to ask the ground rules you guys. You guys have going through it.

00:08:25
Speaker 8: Rich Cavino's been through it, I asked my wife, and I felt very bad asking this, I go, do we sit through all of the grades or can we just leave once they're done? She told me the doors closed, like no one's allowed to leave until after the whole thing is done.

00:08:44
Speaker 5: Did you guys ever.

00:08:44
Speaker 2: Experience of course, because there have been times where I've had a I guess they do daytime, nighttime, multiple performances right there, have been times where I've had to go to something and it's very tight window for me to get here at Fox Sports where my kid goes first, and I'm like sweet, and then I look around. I'm like, I can't leave right now. I gotta like stick around. But when you're the worst is when your kid goes first. When your kid goes first, and then you have to sit there. There's a dance studio out here in La where they perform a three hour dance production like a legit theater.

00:09:18
Speaker 1: Dan Byer like, I was unaware.

00:09:19
Speaker 2: My daughter did one three minute dance and I had to sit through three hours and she went at the very end. If I would have known that, I would have been like, I'll meet you there.

00:09:32
Speaker 1: You know what happens too, Dan, Does your son happen to have a little solo or something?

00:09:36
Speaker 2: No?

00:09:36
Speaker 5: No, does he have a special part or anything?

00:09:39
Speaker 1: Christmas time? Christ Well, I'll.

00:09:44
Speaker 2: Tell you what because one time, my daughter, when she was really young, right, she has some sort of solo that she was practicing for like a month, and you know, her worries became mine.

00:09:53
Speaker 1: I'm just rooting for her so hard.

00:09:54
Speaker 2: I remember I had the camera up and I held my breath the whole time she did it. And really I realized that because I was so nervous, yes, that my heart started pounding for her, and I hadn't breathed like the entire time that I almost faint.

00:10:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm serious, because I was so there in the moment, Josh Allen, yeh, dude, I almost fell over.

00:10:15
Speaker 8: I also would think you would be furious if some dude just got up as your daughter was about to start singing and was like, all right, we're out of here now.

00:10:23
Speaker 5: Say, yeah, so you gotta he is that what.

00:10:25
Speaker 1: Little Brodie pops it with? So it's fine.

00:10:31
Speaker 2: You remember when you did your tuba solo. I didn't play the tuba, but but you know, my thought is one other thing, d be get your first one right. Yes, you got to be aggressive to get good seats unless they were signed, because parents will push you out of the way. Don't be like, oh after you. If you say after you too many times you're sitting in the back, Sure you can if you're in the back escape. You realize if little Brodie's going to be that little crazy kid, like he's just having the time of his life or he's just like stuck in the moment, like staring into space.

00:11:00
Speaker 5: I'm wondering what it's gonna be.

00:11:02
Speaker 2: Bro, what son my son is like the kid who like j thinks he's John Ritter and Jim Carrey all wants I'm like, Ben, there's.

00:11:13
Speaker 1: All these other kids that are spaced out, you know what I mean. It's so funny.

00:11:17
Speaker 2: The other thing is if the school, because a lot of schools do this, if they say, hey, for twenty bucks, we're gonna sell a copy of the performance. Take your phone out and record thirty seconds for your own thing. But then take it and enjoy, because I feel like all these little kids, they look in the crowd and it's just a bunch of parents holding their iPhone, and it's like it's like live in the moment. Because I promise you, if they do have like the school, they hire them. A lot of times they hire the value.

00:11:42
Speaker 5: If they make an announcement.

00:11:44
Speaker 1: We're filling this. We're gonna sell copies for twenty bucks, copies of what Blu ray DVD on. No, we need a device it we don't have anymore.

00:11:51
Speaker 2: No, they'll sell a digital link like they do that at all the school performances. Yet still they'll be every parent that's recording the whole whole thing. Like it's I get a concert. You go to a concert, you see someone recording the whole thing, You're like, what do you don't you think Brody's gonna hit the high note? Why, I'll tell you I went to a concert.

00:12:10
Speaker 8: Remember, well they're still around. Remember Greta van Fleet of course, yeah, they're very Yeah, the whole led Zeppelin there. They played their hit song second Oh yes, the one where that was used in commercials, that.

00:12:26
Speaker 5: Was very popular.

00:12:26
Speaker 1: After that, you're like, I'm done.

00:12:29
Speaker 5: That's all I gotta feel tonight. If they go first.

00:12:32
Speaker 1: Wow, well, hey, good luck to I just hope that buzz isn't behind your sone.

00:12:38
Speaker 2: I think it's fun though, Yeah, you know what I used to dread like sticking around too, But you do appreciate all those little happy kids.

00:12:45
Speaker 1: After a while, it doesn't matter you like them all.

00:12:47
Speaker 5: I root for all of them.

00:12:48
Speaker 2: I told Cavino earlier today, and he's like, are you serious, Because there's a lot of Jewish kids at my kids school, right we live in Los Angeles. They insert some honka songs in the Christmas concert, but since there's not a lot of honka songs.

00:13:01
Speaker 1: As Adam Sandler has pointed out over the years, they.

00:13:04
Speaker 2: Put Jewish words to old pop songs like my daughter's class singing. I said, are you serious because they made a honkah song out of la bamba.

00:13:15
Speaker 1: I don't see the connection at all. They're my daughter's doing two Christmas songs and they're doing it's like ha ha ha hanakahanikabamba. Ble dude, it is. You gotta spin the trade over.

00:13:30
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no. I love honic, I love latkas. I'm just saying I don't see the combination there. But anyway, enjoy your holiday fun, enjoy your festivities. Good luck to Brody tonight and and for.

00:13:40
Speaker 1: All the kids to celebrate Christmas. And hankakah.

00:13:42
Speaker 2: Luck at you because you get double the gifts because your parents feel like they need to. Yeah yeah, but eight crazy nights and Christmas. Start playing your Friday night too, and and do it wisely. It could be a holiday party, it could be a fight night, but you gotta specify, like Barb said before, is it a bros night? Paul aj or is everybody invited? Be clear on the invite, But enjoy the fight and we'll be talking more about it as the week goes on. Now, we have Shacked Diesel trivia. We're gonna get too later on, so stick around for that. We're gonna be giving away prizes multiple choice. Whacked Diesel has some questions and speaking of Whack Diesel, it's an NBA trivia, Well, we'll get a winner, give away some prizes. It is hmmm, hey, the how Todays? What do you think about tonight? You know anyone that cares about the NBA Cup, Nix and the Spurs. I think, listen, if you really are an NBA fan, you maybe watch it just because you love the game. But I was trying to think, and I was having a hard time thinking. Guys, I know that might sound crazy to you. I had a hard time thinking about things I just really can't care about. And I feel like I'm supposed to like when I tell you, I couldn't care less about the NBA Cup tonight. I don't know one person or one thing. And I'm from New York. I have a bunch of friends that are Knicks fans. I haven't had one buddy be like, Tonight's the cup.

00:15:05
Speaker 1: My wife from you're talking about it?

00:15:08
Speaker 2: My wife Sarah's from San Antonio, New Brounfels, Texas. Not one of her buddies, and she has friends that listen to Fox Sports Rare from the East Coast.

00:15:18
Speaker 1: That's what I just said. All of our buddies are Knicks fans. I haven't heard one person bring that up. Yeah, I just said that.

00:15:23
Speaker 3: I don't care.

00:15:24
Speaker 1: I don't care, so.

00:15:27
Speaker 3: I don't care.

00:15:27
Speaker 2: I'm just reiterating it. Is there anyone that's pumped up about this? Maybe some of the players because there is bonus money involved for.

00:15:34
Speaker 5: Some of the the youngsters and the guys that might be on like a two way contract.

00:15:38
Speaker 1: And that's that's the play we made last year. It takes time.

00:15:42
Speaker 2: Like World Baseball Classic, no one cared about it, and then we had one series that popped off three years ago. It was great three years ago, and now people are excited about this when coming up, I don't know, Like sometimes these things take a minute to build.

00:15:55
Speaker 8: Here's the problem that I feel that the NBA Cup has because there's been a lot of talk about the games playing in Vegas. If you look at this run, it's been a run of three. I think best case scenarios, Lakers win it. The first year with Lebron, Like, wouldn't that be like the best case for it. The last year the Bucks beat the Thunder, So the Thunder make it to the finals of the NBA Cup and then go and win the NBA title. And now you have a Knicks team that's very popular with the NBA's you know, future star and current star and everything Victor Weban Yama, and it's still not getting buzz. Like there's They've hit on a lot of things with this tournament, and it still isn't getting people interested.

00:16:37
Speaker 1: dB.

00:16:37
Speaker 2: You also work with The Gottlieb Show, and he's a big basketball guy, college coach, like you know, Doug bleeds basketball.

00:16:44
Speaker 1: Is his sentiment that this is a big deal or sort of a fail.

00:16:48
Speaker 5: We have hardly talked about it, and now what.

00:16:50
Speaker 1: Does that tell you?

00:16:51
Speaker 2: Right, So it's sort of thing buzz. We're not hating on it from the very beginning. From the very beginning of this, we thought it was two euro Well you know why, Danny, because I think the reality is when the prize is the NBA Finals, I think it seems weird, like no fan base is like, guess what, we won the Cup?

00:17:11
Speaker 1: And that right there, like proves it right there. Do you know, like, would anyone be stoked about that? Nope?

00:17:18
Speaker 2: If you go to Lebron James's Wikipedia, well under like the accomplishments at the very bottom of it does say NBA Cup Champion and NBA Cup MVP.

00:17:29
Speaker 6: So but remember his sentiment back then, he wanted to do it for the young guys on the bench. Y, Yeah, he ain't care and we could all tell that. And some of those guys aren't even you know, I'm the Lakers anymore, maybe G League or out of the league. But yeah, this this is not creating buzz. And I know that they're going to change locations next season and they're going to try to keep toying with the international ideas that they have about this.

00:17:55
Speaker 5: But I just don't think that this is for the long run.

00:17:59
Speaker 2: In AMers, we can't say we're all guilty. Right if you're in if you're creative at all, if you work in the creative space broadcasting, radio, TV, marketing, whatever you do for a living, if you're in any type of creative space, you're lying if you say you haven't thrown stuff against the wall that didn't stick. It's just the NBA is a billion dollar brand. So when you throw something big against the wall and you're like, as Dan Byer said, it could have gone better, like year one Lebron wins. Now we're into year three of it and you got Wemby who just beat Okase in the in the quarterfinals and the semi.

00:18:31
Speaker 1: Right.

00:18:32
Speaker 8: Yeah, imagine that this was an NBA Finals. That's the question I posed to carry Roads, like, if you could take this we were talking on Sunday about this. If you could take this match up and say this is your NBA Finals in June, would you take it?

00:18:44
Speaker 1: Good one?

00:18:44
Speaker 5: I think a lot of people would.

00:18:45
Speaker 2: Of course Wemby, the star, star young player and the knixt number one market Like.

00:18:50
Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, I think it would be a home run end. Maybe it'll be cares though.

00:18:53
Speaker 1: Maybe maybe it'll be great.

00:18:55
Speaker 2: We'll say, well tonight, that's up for your viewing pleasure. But I know Kevino's gonna be watching The Alley of Beasted Me instead. You know, I'm really liking that show. It's on Netflix. No, I'm just thinking of other things that. Like, I remember in the world of boxing, they did the Super six World Boxing Classic and Andre.

00:19:15
Speaker 1: Ward was in that. I remember just watching how Carl Froth was called Carl Froth. Yeah, is that a thing?

00:19:21
Speaker 2: But I just remember how much I enjoyed that, and I haven't seen it again since. Well, they do with the because I think people just don't like those tournament setups in sports that you know, I don't know, just doesn't feel right. And you know what, the NBA is toyed with different things, NBA All Star Weekend, the NFL has toyed with different versions of the Pro Bowl ever since we realized that people don't really want to play full contact and they went to you know, I remember it was like the Manning brothers or captains and they it used to be in Hawaii.

00:19:46
Speaker 1: Then they move that. So there are constant little tweaks.

00:19:50
Speaker 2: I just think the NBA, unfortunately, for as you know, successful as the organization has been, I don't know if anyone really cares your thoughts. Carl front was the name of form by the way, maybe no one cares. So we'll see the feedback. Heems like nobody cares. Man, Just look what do people like You're you're there picking up your kid every day. What do dads love to talk to rich about sports?

00:20:10
Speaker 1: Right or wrong?

00:20:11
Speaker 2: Anyone brought it up to they hear when I go to the barbershop, you know what they want to talk to me about all the time.

00:20:16
Speaker 5: Sports.

00:20:16
Speaker 2: It's almost when people had one person. When the dads at school get win, that like if that's the est test and it's family when dad's at the school, or like guys in the softball world I play in when they get win, like oh wait could and rich?

00:20:31
Speaker 1: You then become like all they want to talk about it.

00:20:33
Speaker 2: Like, hey, what do you think about it? Should I use this guy in fantasy? Or this guy I got no call damn buyer. Yeah, that's where I prefer.

00:20:40
Speaker 5: You see my Lakers hat.

00:20:41
Speaker 6: In driving around town, you see lots of even Laker flags on cars on the freeway. Still to this day you see lots of Lakers jerseys. But have you ever seen an in season tournament championship shirt?

00:20:54
Speaker 2: Well, Christmas is still a week and a halfway, dad, they don't try to find one for you. Are you saying on a Lakers one?

00:21:00
Speaker 5: No, I'm saying that.

00:21:02

00:25:53
Speaker 3: Let's go?

00:25:53
Speaker 2: Let's get it out, all right, What former NBA player has the highest career free throw percentage? Not you, Hey, Mark Price, b Steve Nash or see Rick.

00:26:41
Speaker 8: Hey?

00:26:41
Speaker 5: Willis Reed?

00:26:43
Speaker 9: B Will Chamberlain or ce Larry Bird judge judge trying to get on the board, Will Chamberlain, No, no, man, I like your style, going for.

00:26:56
Speaker 5: It, Dan Buyer, what were the what were the punchers?

00:27:00
Speaker 1: Again?

00:27:01
Speaker 5: Hey, Willis Reed?

00:27:02
Speaker 8: Okay, I'll go Willis Reid, You are correct, Sir Willis Reid, nineteen seventy, nineteen seventy three with the knicks.

00:27:08
Speaker 5: Dan Byer on the board as we moved around three?

00:27:12
Speaker 2: All right, round for by the way, do you think a j Jake Paul will go round three. You know what, I don't think, So we'll see what was that one's quoter saying about stats.

00:27:24
Speaker 1: I'm having a fight. Now you can bring your whole family stack.

00:27:26
Speaker 2: So what was there ones quarter saying about stats? Stay stack numbers like kringles. So I never sweated the stats. B The day I stopped worrying about stats is the day I started winning. Or see Chuck's most amazing stat line was nine trips to one Sizzler buffet, all clean plates, Sizzler.

00:27:52
Speaker 1: Jod, you want to take a guess or what I'm giving you a chance? Judge, I like your style, all.

00:27:56
Speaker 7: Right, I'm gonna say, b you are correct.

00:28:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, Judge, I like to judge all.

00:28:02
Speaker 7: About that man. One away, one away, one away, went away.

00:28:07
Speaker 1: The day I stopped worrying about stats the day I started winning.

00:28:10
Speaker 5: All right, So Dan Byer and the judge both on the board.

00:28:12
Speaker 8: As we go to around four, I will say, when Patrick Mahomes is here, his lines aren't believable, but that Barkley line.

00:28:19
Speaker 1: I totally can see.

00:28:21
Speaker 2: Say something like that trips nine trips is nine trips to one Sizzler buffet.

00:28:26
Speaker 1: I believe that all clean plates.

00:28:28
Speaker 5: All right, round four, trying to break the tie here, all.

00:28:31
Speaker 2: Right, round four, shag Diaesel, who was the youngest NBA player to score thirty thousand points in his career. Hey, Lebron, James b Kobe Bryant or see Michael Jordan.

00:28:42
Speaker 7: Hey judge, judge, you're saying Bron.

00:28:48
Speaker 5: You're saying Lebron you are.

00:28:54
Speaker 1: Thirty three.

00:28:54
Speaker 5: You're thirty three years old.

00:28:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, youngest NBA players scored thirty thousand points in his career. Congratulations, Thank you, hey John, you judge, I remember watched.

00:29:04
Speaker 1: His arm this all these reasons, Hey, judge, Merry Christmas, my friend.

00:29:08
Speaker 7: Mary Christmas from Kentucky. Boys.

00:29:12
Speaker 1: Hey, by the way, I had to ask. I saw the headline and I heard the clip.

00:29:15
Speaker 2: Charles Barkley says, I don't care what Shacks fat ass says. He's gonna also give one hundred thousand dollars to the Dicky V Foundation.

00:29:25
Speaker 1: You're doing this all right? So okay, all right, guy, there are things you do. I got presents to.

00:29:29
Speaker 2: Deliver, okay you brother by shaylus Oh happy all days? All right, Thank you, Shack, and thank you the judge in Kentucky, let's go to dB for an update.

00:29:40
Speaker 1: Dan Buyer, what's up, man, guys.

00:29:43
Speaker 8: Let's start out in the NFL looking ahead to Week sixteen with some huge matchups. It all starts Thursday with the Rams and Seahawks playing. Rams head coach Sean McVay saying today Tavante Adams could be a game time decision because of his hamstring strain. The nightcap on Saturday, as the Packers and Bears in Chicago. Packers running back Josh Jacobs didn't practice today, neither did Bears wide receiver as Romadunze or Luther Burden Dolph. It's head coach Mike McDaniel wouldn't commit to to a tongue of Aloa being their starting quarterback in Week sixteen against the Bengals.

00:30:11
Speaker 9: We're in the process of game planning for the Cincinnati Bengals, so we're trying to determine who'll give us the best chance to win.

00:30:19
Speaker 5: I'll probably give you more clarity on that tomorrow.

00:30:22
Speaker 8: McDaniel said that their quarterback play last night in Pittsburgh was not good enough. Buffalo Bills have son kicker Michael Badgeley to their practice squad. Badgeley's going to be wearing number thirty two for the Bills commander's place wide receiver Noah Brown on injured reserve. Cardinals did the same with running back Bam Knight. Sesame Street helped raise all of us. Now it's how our turn donate this holiday season at sesame dot org because the world needs Sesame and Sesame needs you. For the second straight year, Indiana's Kurt Signetti was named the AP Coach of the Year in college football. He's the first coach to win the honor in consecutive years and just the fourth to win the honor on multiple occasions. Nick Saban was one of those four. Saban, by the way, has purchased a minority share of the NHL's nattion Fhill Predators.

00:31:00
Speaker 2: Guys, back to you, dB, I caught that fun little tidbit, and I want to talk about that next. Signed to the Bills practice squad. Correct, Michael Bagley?

00:31:10
Speaker 8: Yeah, yes, could be activated because Matt Prater was injured. So they've had some injuries at the kicking spot this year. So badgely donning number thirty two, according to the Bills release.

00:31:21
Speaker 2: Number thirty two on the Bills Hmmm. Into Asante who's number thirty two on the bills? Danny g a guy that we saw before he passed away on a southwest flight.

00:31:30
Speaker 1: With a huge head, giant noggin.

00:31:33
Speaker 2: What's up, juice? OJ Simpson? Would you wear OJ Simpson's uniform number if you were on the Buffalo bills? Number thirty two?

00:31:44
Speaker 1: Is there some is there some type of bed karmo or bad bad feelings?

00:31:48
Speaker 8: It was not worn by anyone from nineteen seventy seven OJ's last year until twenty nineteen. Only two players have worn it since so one player in twenty nineteen, one player in twenty twenty four. Not extend of use, just assigned to players. But now badgely could be bringing it out.

00:32:04
Speaker 2: Well, imagine what are the karmel rules here? Before before the alleged crime, but he was sort of convicted of some stuff. But before OJ did all the doing, it was probably held because of retirement number purposes and he was a legend, and then alleged murders happened, and then that gets sort of gets taken on the shelf. Now time is passed where some young kids probably like, yeah, number thirty two.

00:32:28
Speaker 8: So like the Cowboys, don't retire numbers but number eighty eight is a cherished number if you're a wide receiver with the Cowboys, like so that's one of the ways that they can do it. Hey, if you're that next wide receiver, Michael Irvin, you know Dez Bryant.

00:32:41
Speaker 5: Now Ceedee Lamb.

00:32:42
Speaker 2: Syracuse says that with forty four. Yeah, Jim Brown, Sure, And I just think if you're a Bill's player, you skip that number, just like elevators. I skipped the number thirteen age thirty two, Like how in and out of skipping six or number six seven.

00:32:59
Speaker 8: I'm sure I gave him a bunch of different options, and I think Badgely's probably wanted to be like, yeah, give me thirty two. But that to me is messing with with karma.

00:33:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, there's certain things you avoid, like the same way, like you said, Ceedee Lamb, Michael Irvan, like eighty eight to a legendary numbers. Else, what is it thirty two of you have murdering tendencies like that, It's a tainted number. That's that's why I think you stay away from it. What are the karmo rules here? It's like, would you buy a home if someone was murdered there because it's a great deal.

00:33:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, but when you feel weird about it. I didn't feel weird about it. I think that happens all the time. I mean, it does happen all the time.

00:33:37
Speaker 2: But the rest of piece, Rob Reiner, that house is going to be sold to some other rich person that's going to have to accept the fact that Rob Reiner's and his wife were murdered there.

00:33:45
Speaker 1: Look, I feel weird when people die in a house and I don't know about it. Yeah, you know. Kovino's neighbors said to him, get this.

00:33:52
Speaker 2: I was in the elevator with some bobo, some bonehead, and he goes, hey, what's going on a neighbor. I'm like hey, and he goes He goes, yeah, I used to be pretty friendly with the guy that lived at your place a few years back. And I was like, oh, that's cool. He's a good guy. It's like, yeah, sort of tragic how he died on the patio. I was like, dude, every time I see myself, I see my dog barking out into the nothing, I'm like, what are you bargain at.

00:34:21
Speaker 8: I thought there was a law or a rule that if someone dies in the dwelling and you sell it. You have to disclose to about that too, And I think that is a rule. I did not know or law or whatever. I did not You didn't ask ask. I didn't know this information. It wasn't disclosed. It wasn't a like a tragedy head yeah maybe maybe right. And the guy I saw my reaction, he actually came to apologize to me later. I was like, yeah, really sorry, Like why would you even tell me that?

00:34:49
Speaker 2: Like this is small talk, elevator talk, and you had to tell me that now like an hour to break this down. Yeah, I'm like, geez, that information I wish I didn't know talk about it? You talking about death and murder, but and that that was just a depth to my knowledge murder. I would feel I would feel more closure was gonna say, I feel I would feel morally weird.

00:35:07
Speaker 1: I see people morally weird.

00:35:09
Speaker 2: I would feel people who karma wise people buy houses and cars and stuff that are repoted or foreclosed on. I almost feel like that's sort of like, I don't know, like you're capitalizing off of someone's misfortunes, Like someone's dreaming mistrustion went away, so I'm going to scoop up their house, Like I even think that feels a little weird to me. So would you wear the thirty two because it's available that's synonymous with OJ in the and the bills.

00:35:31
Speaker 1: So Michael Banjley on what was Aaron Hernanz's was number?

00:35:35
Speaker 5: One? Eighty one?

00:35:36
Speaker 8: Eighty?

00:35:37
Speaker 6: Yeah?

00:35:37
Speaker 8: Has there been an a switch numbers? But yeah, I'm you know, I don't want to say for sure, I don't know.

00:35:42
Speaker 5: I'm not interesting.

00:35:43
Speaker 2: You know what your thoughts about Karma and OJ's number will wrap with that and any thoughts on Week sixteen of the NFL.

00:35:51
Speaker 1: We'll get to it next right here, coven on Rich Oj.

00:35:57
Speaker 2: You gotta hear Rich hit this high note. Oh my goodness, Rich hits his high note like nobody I know where. Coveno and Rich live from the Fox Sports Radio studio. For over forty years, Tyrek has been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive. Ship Fast and free back by Free Road has your protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tirerac dot com Way tire buying should.

00:36:20
Speaker 1: Be now Rich, as we head into a fight weekend, yay yyem dreaming, Oh thank you.

00:36:28
Speaker 2: Terrence Crawford announced he's walking away from boxing at the age of thirty eight, Crawford ends his career ye and multiple world championships in five weight classes.

00:36:40
Speaker 9: Well, what more does he have to.

00:36:41
Speaker 3: Prove, Terrence?

00:36:42
Speaker 1: But Crawford won when he won that last fight against Canelo convincingly. I mean to be the man. You gotta beat the man. He did it.

00:36:51
Speaker 2: What else is there left to do? You're right, rich and those I'm stepping away if Paul's asked for like twenty million dollars, I'm stepping away from competition, not because I'm done fight, but because I have won a different kind of battle, the one where you walk away on your own terms. Now, if you could stick to it, props to him forty two to zero, Terrence Crawford.

00:37:09
Speaker 1: If I'm Terrence.

00:37:10
Speaker 2: Crawford, I'd take one more fight in like a year or so from now. And that's if there's still such thing as like he's done. No, I'm saying, if there's such thing as like the spectacle fight where a healthy, retired Terrence Crawford could fight like a Jaker Logan Paul and make tens of millions of dollars, Like that's that's easy money. I don't think he should ever train again to fight the likes of Canelo or a legitimate boxer of that magnitude. But if you're that's why I I don't blame these fighters. When Jake Paul, who is he originally gonna fight again, I'm already.

00:37:43
Speaker 1: Forgetting Jake Paul was originally gonna fight Gervonte Davis.

00:37:47
Speaker 2: Oh, Tank Davis, and then it got all sideways because of Tank's legal issues when.

00:37:52
Speaker 1: That got canceled.

00:37:53
Speaker 2: Do you guys remember that Cavino said there was a list of like twenty pro fighters that were chomping at the bit.

00:37:58
Speaker 1: Yep. Yeah, because they know they're gonna be a ton of money. Why would you not want to do it? Sells prize fighting right for the bag, good prize.

00:38:04
Speaker 2: But he's walking away, And speaking of fights, we'll be talking more about this Friday Nights fight, and we'll be talking about Schakor and Tiafimo and more on over promise. That's our bonus podcast tomorrow with two Tone to Superstar. He's a boxing analyst joining our show tomorrow. That's after our regular our regularly scheduled program and Mike's Wednesday Words of Wisdom Here at.

00:38:26
Speaker 1: The show, I got a question for you. I got a question for you ahead. What are the karma rules? Man?

00:38:31
Speaker 2: Would you wear number thirty two if you were a bill that's when you skip on that's OJ's number. Do you capitalize on people's misfortune? Do you believe in that sort of karma stuff you mentioned buying storage units from people that didn't have the money to pay for it. There's a very popular story out there right now where some guy bought a storage unit and it was all Travis kelcey stuff.

00:38:54
Speaker 1: Did you see that? And he wasn't going to play that karma rule.

00:38:57
Speaker 2: He's like, yo, I'm reaching out to Travis first if he wants all of his stuff, and dude, it was very personal stuff like all of his like football accolades and jerseys and and videos. And he's like, if he doesn't want it, then I'll sell it. I mean he could play dirty because he is marrying a billionaire. So I mean that that guy is very high. Yeah, he hit the jackpie. He has all of Travis Kelsey's personal items. So you capitalize off this capolizing off of someone else's or like I said, the the idea of wearing OJ's number, that just feels weird right, like, I don't know, doesn't sit right with me, same same I would. I would say you skip that one. And I don't blame Michael Bagley. I think the Bills should take that off the table because everyone sees it. Or if you're back, if you're a practice squad kicker, it is a cool way to get some social media buzz going real quick, like like, no one cares about Michael Badgeley until oh he's wearing OJ.

00:39:58
Speaker 1: If you're the guy murdered though, Rich, yeah, you know, I think you skip on that.

00:40:03
Speaker 6: By the way, the Patriots player who wore number eighty one after Aaron Hernandez was Tim Wright. He was acquired from the Tampa Bay Bucks and made his Patriots debut wearing that number.

00:40:14
Speaker 1: I think it was wrong.

00:40:15
Speaker 2: So that's my thoughts on that, And we'll take the rest of your thoughts at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. But remember tomorrow's show Wednesday, Words of Wisdom, Midweek Major and then we'll talk boxing on over Promise right after the show. Looking forward to it, and guys, have a great night NBA Cup tonight if you're interested. Spurs and Knicks and Kevino, I know you and I both are up to the same point, the finale of the beast in me. Yeah, I'll be watching Claire. That's a good one. It's a good one, all right. Enjoy until then, there you baby, see you in these
