We did this last year, Shannon, when we brought on all the TBT guys and talk to every single one of them. It works so well, We're gonna do it again this year. So today, in the first hour, we've got DeAndre Leggins and Drawn Lamb, and the second hour will be Anthony Aminor and Khalil Whitney. So I'm really kind of excited to talk to all four of those guys. Today, tvt Week comes at a perfect time for us, give us something to talk about, get excited about it. And with such a huge success last year, I'm kind of excited about the tournament this year.

And you know, yesterday we were talking about our all Time starting five and we had that one caller that says that Liggings and Lamb should be the Locks and the all Times starting five. I don't know if I can agree with with that caller, but we got both of them here with well with you, I'm in the studio, but with you today on the show. By the way, how's KOs Bar looking right now? You know, we're in the middle of that update for the bar. How's it looking?

Speaker 3: We are on the patio of KS Bar and Grill where it is completely bare. They've taken out the hostess stand, all the tables, chairs, everything completely beround the patio and inside. As soon as you go on the front door, we've moved the host stand from outside of the patio to as soon as you come in on the front door on your right hand side, so there's a lot of space right now. They're trying to clean things that cause are going to redo the floors this week, and they just warned me they're gonna be redoing the force tomorrow while we're here at KOs Bar uh doing the show. So maybe uh, maybe quite loud tomorrow doing that. But Drew and Abby, Abby and I were here over the weekend kind of moving some pictures and trying to think of some different things to do, trying to get somewhat of a different look for the relaunch. We wanted to kind of have a new, updated, different look as well, you know what I mean.

Rely, for the first time maybe in the history this show, in the fourteen year history of this show, I want to be our first topic that you and I talk about. The Major League Baseball All Star Game. Yeah, I know nobody cares it's an All Star game.

Speaker 3: But last night, finishing in a six to six tie at the end of nine innings, they did something I didn't even know. They put in place where they have a basically a home run derby swing off to determine the winner.

Speaker 3: And Shannon, I was more into that than any Major League Baseball All Star Game since Pete Rose bowled over Ray Fosse.

Speaker 2: First of all, National League, you thought they were gonna get a win. They were up six to four ninth inning. You know, they hadn't won a game, and like, what was it?

Speaker 2: I think they lost eleven out of twelve games or ten out eleven twelve. I think, yeah, something like that, and National League blew it come back and then it's, you know, tied up, and we're like, okay, ninth inning's over. What happens now we just call it a tie?

Speaker 2: Or do we just go to extra innings? No, they bring out the batting cages and we have an impromptu home run derby, and I'm going, what is this? I didn't even know this was a rule. I didn't even but I feel like this was Major League Baseball's direct response to the people who say baseball's boring. But who boring? I can't watch it? Oh yeah, We're just gonna have a home run derby right in the middle of the All Star Game. And you know what, I'm fine with that being the All Star Game. It's all for entertainment anyway. It doesn't mean anything. They don't even have the home filled advantage in the World Series anymore. They've gotten no meaning attached to the All Star Game, So I'm fine with them settling it that way. I just didn't even know that that's the way that they were going to do it.

Speaker 3: You know, I didn't need it, never even heard it made the All Star Game fun again. I think having something like that, I mean the anticipation, I mean, Kyle Schwarber steps up and he acts like he's Babe Ruth and hits through three swings, three home runs kind of sent it for the National League. You know, soccer goes to penalty kicks at the end of a tie the Ryder Cup. You know, they sit out their three best guys when it's a tie. I heard you ability to debate this, and I'm kind of on your side about this. I don't want to use it in to, you know, solve a regular season game, but for an All Star game, I loved it.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm good with it in the All Star Game again. But Billy was trying to make the argument that we should have every regular season baseball game be like this, and I go, you know, we've already made a mockery of it enough as we're putting ghost runners out on second base to start the tenth inning, which I think is crazy. But whatever, I can live with that. But you know, the home run derby at the end of the All Star Game. That's fine, but you can't have that in the regular season. At that point, you're just changing the game entirely.

Speaker 3: So yeah, well, I had a good move by Major League Baseball, got some interest in it again, got some interesting in at All Star Game that nobody really cared about, right, And I thought it was a great idea. I don't want to see it in regular season. But then again, I don't like him putting a runner on second base because you know what, if a guy has a no hitter through nine innings, he goes out to the tenth inning, a runner is already on second base. Yeah, him over to third. No, that's not a hit. Sacrifice fly scores him. That's not a hit, and then he strikes out, so he gets out of the ending.

Speaker 2: Well yeah, but I mean, like, when's the last time you saw a guy throw ten innings? You know what I'm saying, Gibson exactly. So I mean my point is like they won't even like I was watching an old uh uh it was. I think it was like ninety two, and Doug Drebeck for the Pirates was throwing one hundred and thirty two pitching up. I'm going there's no way that would ever happen in today's game. They just you know, they're gonna pull the pitcher even if he was throwing a no hitter through nine innings, you know which, I guess that in that game the score out to be zero to zero, you're not going to see that. So the scenario that you laid out, I don't think is very likely to ever happen, like, especially in today's game.

Speaker 3: So, as we said as TBT Day, the TBT guys play on Friday night just Shannon and I here. Billy will join us for the second hour. But a couple of things, A couple of housekeeping things I want to take care of first. Everybody, when you say your prayers tonight, your thoughts and prayers, remember Drew and Drew's mom. That's why Drew's off today. She's got some medical issues she's dealing with. I'll let him explain if he wants to. He can explain it when he comes back. But just know that Drew and his family and his mom and dad and sister, they need us. They need us right now. So remember the Franklin family and your prayers for sure and uh and this something personally, I was blown away last night. The ladies of KSR for the second time have come to my rescue, and I am just I'm a lot all lost for words because thank you is not near enough. You know, everybody thinks this of KSR is just a Facebook group. They're more a lot more than a Facebook group. They they they reach out and help people that are part of Big Blue Nation, and they show a lot of love and compassion and just on behalf of Josiah. I mean when I'm when my house caught on fire, Slaves of KSR stepped up and just went way above and beyond taking care of.

But apparently there were some scheduling issues with him, and uh, he's not gonna be here from where they replaced him with Marquise Warwick, who's uh Henry Clay alum, leading scorer in Henry Clay history. I went to Northern Kentucky for like three years, four years, and then finished up at Missouri last year.

Why are we bringing on influencers?

So you know, Nazi Wayne Turner, Cameron Mills, Jeff Shephard, Scott Paget. These guys that went to won two championships and went to three straight final fours, you can't deny that. But do they end up on our all time starting five? Shannon, I don't know. I don't think I can make that argument.

I thought it was a good point. It kind of depends on like when these guys come in, Like John Wall coming in right after the Gillespie era was huge for Kentucky, right Mashburn coming in, you know after Eddie Sutton and being on probation and everything. So a lot of that too. Like how we remember remember these players has to do with when they came in. You know, they came in when the program needed a boost. And I think that's the case for Wall and Mashburn and their respective eras playing here at Kentucky.

A lot of people are coming from out of town and they're getting hotel rooms and it's more than just showing up and you know, watching a concert, it's like a full on event for a lot of people. So yeah, I hate that that happened, but you know it's it's live, and I at least commend him for trying, and he's not going up there and just phoning it in like a lot of musicians do today, and you know, use backing vocals that aren't really theirs, and you know, half of what you're hearing he really isn't live, you know, least at least he gave it an effort. You know, he couldn't get through it, but he tried.

And they said before the show that Darius was had an IV that morning. He was so sick, so dehydrated that before he flew out of Charleston he had an IV and it was take meds the whole day. Well, of course he gets on stage and he goes man, you know, I'm in Kentucky. I've been sick all day. Bourbon's my only medication tonight. So we started slamming bourbon. Yeah, and but he finished the show. Maybe that's the secret, Darius, Maybe you should have just started slamming Kentucky bourbon while you're on the stage. I think it was in like New Jersey or New York or something.

But Chapman scored twenty six Louisville, and I think if he woul a stayed all four years, he broke a lot of scoring records. And another guy I wanted to mention that won't be in anybody's top five and never consid he loved is Chiefs Bogans just because he was ahead of a scorer and never gets any attention. So I wanted to bring him up.

It's it's really hard to narrow it down to just five guys.

I want my renters to be comfortable and have you know, nice furniture out there on the front porch. And I had renters in there today and they said, your rocking chair is now gone. It's missing, and I paid good money for this rocking chair.

So this chair is just missing. And then I posted in our condo like facebook community page about it, and thirty minutes later it's now back. So I have no idea, and I go back and I look on there, and again it's just there. It doesn't show at all any notification, so I couldn't even see who returned it.

Speaker 6: So my first year out I signed, I went undrafted signed with Charlotte Hornets. That was a G League bubble, so we played about eleven and twelve games in there. The next year, I got traded to the Rockets, and then I ended up playing uh A two way with the Rockets and won a G League championship there with my former teammate Gerald Green. I played with Willie Carley Stein with the Rockets as well my second year. Uh and then after that, I broke my big toe, so I had to sit down for about four or five months, and then UH that when I that's when I I did my first overseas stint. I went to the Dominican Republic. That was, like, I think, my first time going overseas, and then after that I went to Canada.
