There comes a time in every journey's life where we must dive, Boss,
and we must dive despite what our better conscience tells us. Because if we're
going to talk about Brooke getting married, yeah, we're gonna talk about Bully
Ray pulling the ultimate swerve on the Hulkster here on TNAH and becoming world champion
and TNA, we're going to talk about the aces and eights. We have
to we have to deep dive the period in question, TNA impacts from November
of twenty twelve through March of twenty thirteen. As we officially on the deep
dive portion here of our latest installment of TNH turn the page to the final
year of Total NonStop Hogan. I mean that's good, but man, why
don't you guys do TNA? And there are people out there that look back
fondly on this, They remember this like it's I am listen, you know,
because again I've said it before, Wrestling fans are a different are a
different breed of of of of persons seeking entertainment yea. And to an escapism,
there is there is such a longing for something even remotely good, because
you nostalgia isn't like it's it's more than a drug. I think when it
comes to wrestling, Yeah, I think it's it's it's it's more addictive than
any other you know, Like as you grow, as you evolve from like
watching television shows, regular television shows, you can kind of the advancement in
technology and the different kind of uh liberties that that that are allowed to be
told in terms of you know, whatever it is that opens you up.
And granted there are always the classics, but the thing is that this is
this is the difference of with wrestling than it is with other TV shows.
For the most part, other TV shows end, you know, and so
they're kind of retained in their glory. Like I Love Lucy for example,
you don't have I Love Lucy from like the nineteen seventies, nineteen eighties.
It's isolated in the fifties, Yes, that time period, and it speaks
to its time, and it serves as a time capsule all it is,
you know. You That's that's what makes it great is because you can you
can maybe say, hey, television as as a whole used to be there,
but you can always say I Love Lucy was this and it was always
great or the Honeymooners or whatever. You have, any TV show, cheers,
you know, you can kind of have these things wrestling because it just
continues, especially with WWE. But it's like it never really ends, and
so we don't have an isolated time frame of it all in terms of when
wrestling began. When wrestling started, it is this continuing thing and we've seen
it good and we've seen it bad. But that good is is so addicting
that we will sit through the bad just to get a taste of that good
again. Yes, yes, and wrestling fans are so desperate. I don't
mean that in a negative way. I mean that we want we want good
shit so bad that if we just see a glimpse of something. Because here's
the thing I was thinking about this as I've been watching all this stuff,
the Aces and Eights storyline, isn't they just they made mistakes with it.
It's not a bad thing per se, but for me, they made they
made mistakes that are completely irreversible. Waiting on the leader thing, for example,
bad. The fact they always lost is bad. Most importantly, the
fact that they need to invade is bad. Like why do they need to
invade? Why can't they just come in and be this badass organization. Why
do they have to take over? What is that achieve? Why are they
taking over? What are they what is it that they want? Because to
me, team ain't worth anything. I look at it like who gives a
shit? Like why do you want DNA? You're not fucking you know,
there's a there, there's the history of you know, what made the nWo
thing great and was not just what we were seeing, but there was subconsciously
so much history in that because what what it was underneath the surface of you
know, yes, you get the W thing, but it really was we're
going to violently change up wrestling for what it is. The battle was also
not just the idea that it was WW versus WW. The battle was also
about tradition, like kind of old school traditional wrestling versus newer ECW renegade violent
wrestling. Sure, you know, because that's because you know, I remember,
part of the appeal of that whole era was the fact that we're seeing
shit that normally we just wouldn't see. It wasn't ever violent enough in that
period. You know, it was violent to a degree, but they never
went this far. But they started going that far. That's what made it
appealing was that I think on a subconscious level. I don't think on a
completely superficial level, but on a subconscious level, we were watching the whole
business change before our eyes, and I think we take that for granted.
We do, because it's like, if you're invading, it means you want
to change things. I don't see how the Aces Andnates want to change anything.
They want to show up and just be left unmolested, to walk around
the impact zone and have meetings, right, And it's like basically, the
this style of wrestling, like kind of the style, the renegade, more
violent style of wrestling just kind of became the norm, and so to have
more of that, it doesn't like what are you fighting for? Like again,
there was such an awesome and I don't mean mad in terms of the
the slang version, I mean just totally in awe gravitational change in the whole
business and the way the business was done at that time. There had been
many advances, you know, like little little kind of turns in here and
there, But when you really think about what everyone you know really seems that
they want and they claim that what they want, it's more intangible than anything
else, because it required us to have witnessed and Ben in an emotional and
desperate situation. That's what made the nWo and the Attitude era so great was
because it was a release for all of us who were just sick of the
same old fucking good guy, bad guy wrestling because our environment was different.
Yeah, we don't we're not there yet, like you, in a weird
way. You have to really let this breathe. Like maybe I don't even
think now, Like it's just it's a different landscape. It's it's so you
can't do that and expect it to be what it was because there was so
much more than just these guys from WW You're coming over. Yeah, the
angle was you know, inextricably tied to what came before it, right,
you know, the nWo if it comes after like Steve, Steve Austin doesn't
work right, Um, totally right. And and that's just it. Like
I just don't, I don't know what nothing. TNA is not valuable to
me, And I can't see that anybody else thinks that it's valuable enough to
have this invasion where people are like worried for their livelihood. Yeah, that's
enough of barbarians at the gate. That's enough, Like like, dude,
they're they're fucking they're wrestlers and they're not even really like they're great. They're
employees, right, and they're employees, and so just fucking fire them.
It's like a bunch of guys who would never won singles titles anywhere. Right,
Um, I think you nailed it when you said why do these guys
have to be invaders? Like why can't they just be a heel stable of
wrestlers that start consolidating power by winning titles and kick an ass right that in
the rules, breaking the rules. But then there's this component of like we
don't want them in the building and they're infiltrating management, and it's like please
but that and that that's where it just gets It gets completely lost, and
it gets so like play aff to the fact that hey, you guys are
kind of you know, you're edging along there, but like this idea that
we don't want them in the building, Like why yeah, well you said
why would they want t NA? And right, it's almost like I don't
see their goal. There is no goal, like like I mean, this
is this is for the for the next, for the second half. But
you know, I'm I'm trying to get ahead. So but like when it
comes down to it and and and Bowie tries to explain, I'm like how
he did it, I'm like, I don't actually care how you did it.
I care about why you did it. And this tells us about what's
to come next, right, Like what what was the purpose of this,
because you're not explaining that, like you're just saying, oh, great,
so you have this in crazy, this crazy like you know, uh thought
out, twisty turney thing ensure it explains all the things that you that nobody
really knew the answers to at the time. Who were writing this shit,
I don't care about that. Like, honestly, the whole the plot holes
in it all didn't bother me. What bothers me is I don't know why,
And I don't I don't know. I don't have a reason why.
Like they didn't even really necessarily say that they wanted to take over. They
just came out and it's like, I just don't get it. Yeah,
I just don't. I don't know what I need. I need a goal,
I need stakes, I need I need to know what the purposes I
mean, that's not even you know, even advanced wrestling stuff. I mean
the whole idea, even in the day when it wasn't fucking having scriptwriters write
shit out, bookers knew what they were doing. They were building towards a
match. They were building to this program to make money on the road,
Like this is like that's it's simple, Like what is the goal? Yeah,
well, this is a company that's given up on pay per view,
so therefore given up on the idea of working backwards from a match that has
to be interesting by the time you get there. And when you abandon that
conceit, you also abandon the ability to tell a wrestling story in a way
that any fan is going to enjoy. Overtimes find himself invested in. Got
to be building to that moment of showdown, and when you don't care about
that moment anymore, or if it's an afterthought, then you're just watching this
this week to week, sort of like milktoast, twist and turn drama with
no good actors and to your point, wrestlers who aren't exactly compelling on their
own, so why when you put them all in leather vests, they're going
to be more compelling is a great mystery to me. Why that ever registered
with Bischoff or anybody else involved, Why that would add sizzle to these people?
You gotta have somebody who matters earlier on, And I think, like
you said, you know, why do they want to take over TNA?
I think further than that, why isn't you know TNA ever enough? If
I'm the TNA viewer, Why does every storyline have to be about this is
not the point in time where TNA is now TNA and we go forward and
we're like a wrestling company where you watch it and you watch us present matches.
Instead, it's it's never enough to just be TNA. They always have
to be under siege because what's happening outside the walls of the Impact Zone is
always more interested, interesting, rather than what's happening inside. And they just
can't get out of this mode throughout the entirety of Hogan and Bischoff's time there
of like what what could really shake things up? As if the whole company
is somehow at risk at all times, and it's like we don't even care
about like the company isn't a baby face? Like right, there's no,
there's not as much investment from the fans as they think there is, and
who's controlling TNA. There's almost no investment in that idea. So it's just
like, is it means to an end? Wind it over? Like it's
three years running now, is that not a time to decide? Like,
Okay, finally we're done with the fucking power struggle. And again, like
that only really could happen one time, exactly, and you have to do
it right and when it's done, it's done. And I'm not even talking
about here, I'm talking about the only time it could possibly work was when
it did, because again it's the stars were just aligned in nineteen ninety six,
Yeah, the stars were just aligned in the right formation to make something
like that work where there was that that competitive nature between the two companies.
Hulk Hogan was getting booed by people. Yeah, the hand was filed.
It's almost like the nWo wasn't a fit of creative inspiration, it was not
at all. What do we do now because we've got Hogan and Nash.
We weren't over halland Nash. We don't know what to do with them,
and people are rejecting Hulk Hogan and now even to the point that Hulk Cogan
himself now even has to acknowledge it and shift gears right. You know,
Hogan's heel turn was kind of a It came so early in the nWo that
you know, they didn't really have enough time to show many signs of life
with the angle. Right, it still came off as sort of like it
was obviously revolutionary when it happened, but kind of desperation as well as it
regards breathing some more high earning years under the Hulkster, because if he still
wear in the red and yellow trying to oppose Hall and Nash, it is
a much different not in a positive way, absolutely. So it's all there,
and we look forward to exactly as you as you put it there,
sort of weaving our way through the week to week and identifying and put in
our finger just on where the the misfires are and why this was yet another
and perhaps the last real attempt to grow tena's rating above where it was when
Hogan and Bischoff got there, and I think ultimately the biggest fizzle of them
all the Aces and Eight's storyline, because despite you know, some well executed
angles and anointing a new top heel in Billy Ray and Hogan doing great work
with Brooke Hogan and that storyline and ratings being decent, it's still it's still
just sputtered at the end. Yeah, it still ran out of gas before
you got to the vacation home. It was still like, this is not
there is now nowhere we can go. This is the capitulation. Yep,
it's brought to you by manscaped. Why is it brought to you by manscaped

ship and podcasting goddamn it. Yes indeed, at least for now, but
we do very much appreciate the many synergistic opportunities to be working with our friends
at PAPS who have been longtime supporters of the show and are proud to be
back helping make the wheels turn at TLF headquarters at TLFHQ. So again,
your co chairman, licensing you to go out into the world this summer and

Do it because you don't take yourself too seriously and because you take us here
at the lapsed Fan very seriously. Papa papst drink a beer that says something
as opposed to nothing and do it to support this fucking cast. That's the
way to do it. So that out of the way, we turn to
the November fifteen, twenty twelve Impact boss Man. Are you brace for Impact?
Is my question? Yeah? Coming off turning point twenty twelve, and
we learned that Huole Coogan is backstage feeling bad for AJ Styles because it turns
out the DJ Styles has now lost a match that means he will not get
a title shot, a TENA World title shot until the twenty thirteen Bound for
Glory. That's long term storytelling. Wow, And he doesn't It's true.
I guess. I guess it's about to embark on a campaign of growing increasingly
moody and depressed and long haired. And it's a it's not something we're to
pay a lot of attention to you because you know, you know, I
was thinking about you know, you know, I was actually kind of like
he's the sting of the story. He's the sting again. Bishop doesn't have
many new ideas. Okay, he's kind of just taken the two or three
things that made money WCW and trying to change just a few of the beats.
So it doesn't look like a carbon copy, just never but it is,
but it is. It's a complete carbon copy. I just never know,
like I get that they It just boggles my mind again at how and
Hogan is the same way in the idea that he can only do a feud
that has him befriend somebody and then have the guy turn on him. Yeah,
And I just don't understand how you can look like where in the delusion
do they look at that and just say, Okay, it's gonna work,
even though there's there's financial evidence that shows that it isn't working. Yeah,
That's really what's most amazing about Hogan and Bishof and TNA is just nothing is
working, and yet somehow they're still giving license to try again and again and
again. And I guess you got him on a contract and they're making over
a million or at least Hogan is you gotta do something with him. But
I'm fine with that, I understand with that, but why aren't you forcing
them to do something different, to actually, you know, be creative.
Dixie was so outmatched, like she had no ideas and she was the only
one that could tell those two what to do. So she would much rather
just yea believe someone who told her that this actually is going somewhere than you
know, grapple with the fact that the numbers are telling you this isn't really
going anywhere. She was she was so good at that. She would always
be able to spend that thing about how you know, say what you will
about the past. But now the pieces are in place, and look at
what's happening here and there and over there, and everyone's obituary a hundred times
and we won't die and all that shit. So's you can't penetrate that force
field with her, You really can't, awful, So the basis dates are
in the clubhouse and so proble horrible. Do you think you've done enough to
offset the fact that you've exposed right dunner to you in this club this last
about two weeks where there's like a thing you have to pay a price if
you get unmasked. Pretty soon they're all unmasked and no one pays a price,
and it's Doc, Doc Gallows. He says, I know I let
you guys down, but at turning point I bludgeon Joseph Park. So I
feel like I made up for it. You know, Prospect, you'll find
later on tonight how this club voted. But for right now, they tell
him, prospect, being Doc, yeah, give me the cut. Doc
takes a deep breath. You can hear leather clinkling, like, oh yeah,
I believe I've got I've got I've got here here. I think this
might come afterwards, but basically, when he I'll do what I have to
and then I got a lot of leather and rubber and sound effects. Are
you ready for it? I don't think so. It makes me sick,
but go ahead. Yeah, I know I'll let you guys down, but
last Thursday I beat Sting half to death. At a turning point, I
beat and I bludgeoned Joseph Park. And hell tonight, Devon, I'll jump
in the ring and I'll tie with you. I'll do whatever I have to
do. You know, Prospect, you'll find out later on tonight how this
club voting. But for right now, Car Evans take off the Belo best.
Doesn't it all? Listen to me? So awkward? It's like,
what a fucking like water bed? You know, Like why in the middle
of this doc Gallows lay down in a bed of balloons? Also? Is
that is uh? Is that Kylo Rent as the uh from Star Wars?
Kylo Brown as the leader of the Aces and Eights prospect give me the cut
prod eat my ass. Just take like, take the cheapest leather vest you
could buy to fleet Mark and just like squish it in your hands. That's
and they have the lab mics right on the fucking whatever whatever they got.
They might they might have lab mics, you know, fucking in their body,
and like Jesus, what a nightmare is The sound of just the clothing
moving around is so overwhelming. It's so like, I really hate, I
hate, I really really hate UM pro wrestling backstage Yeah UM sound nowadays it's
so it's so blown out interesting, you know, like they it's so it's
also so focused where you can hear every like little Yeah, I hate that.
Why Why is that? Because they're using very delicate, like very sensitive
microphones. Again, I assume they're probably using a lab mic of some sort.
You never hear like, you know, if it's a backstage interview.
You never hear like Aaron Andrews breathe on a Fox broadcaster. You never hear
like the guys at the desk make mouth and nosed right. You certainly don't
hear rubber like that intensive right, it's really stupid. So they handed the
folded up leather jacket leather vast like a you know, a folded up US
flag at a veteran's funeral, and hand it over and they Devon says,
VP, we got business to take care of. So he rises, and
they threw a dart at the board, and Kurt Angle is the one that
the dart lands on. So that's that they're going to attack tonight. And
again we don't know why. We don't know to what end or for what
reason. And they have a red light on in the clubhouse too, for
spookiness. And then Devon throws another dart and says that Prick deserves it,
and all the other Halloween decorations in the place, and then they climbed bottles,
and that's in Joseph Park is in Hogan's office, and Boston, I
want you to listen to something after you play this. Okay, well do
you want to play yours first? I just want to let you know that
Joseph Park came out to the LA Law theme song. Are you serious?
I want to talk about serendipity on a teenage journey. Want to talk about
that stroke of genius that's on our YouTube that you produced TA Law. Why
don't you listen closely to the entrance music that the lawyer character Joseph Park came
out to in TNA. What wow? I mean? That is that is
a that is that is a classic wrestling rip off of a TV theme absolutely
and the same one that came to your mind. Yep, just watching TNA
even before the Joseph Park character became a thing. That's really funny, pretty
wild. It's all about lawyers because it's about lawyers and m cogan's personal life.
It's all about it's all about legality, and so it's bleeding through.
Well here is uh, here's here's Joe Park with the Hulks. He talking
about you know, he wants that one more match like we all do.
Hulk. I'm here for one reason, and that's because I want one more
match with aces and eight please give me that shot out. I almost had
him on Sunday. You know people in hell want ice water too, Joseph.
But you're beaten, you're better, You're bloody, and you're screaming.
Watch your girls just trying to stand that. Brother. Fine, I can't
put you back in the ring again. This isn't your calling, brother,
And at the end of the day, my job's on the line. This
company's one as far as a liability in this an isolated incident, there's the
roster list, Aces and eights is going down one man at a time and
tearing this company apart. I was with Sting Sunday and I wasn't happy about
what I saw, brother, But how I'm not giving him up because when
he comes back, he's coming back on his own. No updates. What
do you have to say about that, Joe, Because I know you're only
seeing the beaten man on the outside, but I wish you could see the
man on the inside and keep them The man on the inside is a lawyer,
Joseph, and I wouldn't walk into a courtroom, a federal courtroom,
acting like I knew what I was doing in a murder case when somebody's life
was online. You're trying to get in a wrestling ring and your life's online.
You're not trained. You hadn't been in the ring line enough. You
have no training at all. So what are you doing in there? He
answers no, because you and Bully taught me the first time and it's not
happening again. You're not trained to be a wrestler. You're right, Hulk,
You're right, brother? Are you? Are you saying what I think
you're seeing? Hawk to go to wrestling camp and learn how to wrestling?
No, no, no, no, I didn't say that's a famuous idea
Hawks for you. I'm gonna go and roll right away, and the next
time you see me, I'll be ready and then you'll give me that match.
Great idea? How great idea? Bad idea? He won't be black,
brother, Terry. They don't try cases in federal court. First of
all, he's talking about liability because his life is about lawyers, and so
Tenna is going to have to be about lawyers as well. M And yeah,
Joseph Park figures he's going to go to wrestling camp emphasis on camp.
By the time vignettes are over of him training with Danny Davis, at the
OVW school, the other the other Danny Davis, so Tara Godters are walking
backstage, Jesse Gotters or boy Tooy just got the belt. They go to
so much. There's so many fucking Hogan segments. I got them all because
there's a Hogan segment, it's definitely going in so here then Hogan includes Brooke.
This is just this may be one of the stupidest fucking things. Okay,
all right, did you did you hold the bell? Yeah? Me
and Brand had to work out at gouldschen Vinis. Don't worry about this,
and I hope Angelina commanking it all the time. Knock you knock, you
knock, Just just go in, Hi, Tara Brook, Bully Ray,
Oh help you with pers of Okay, you need to discuss what happens with
this knockout division with me. You need to consult me. I had to
found out about Battle Royal through Twitter. Through Twitter, really, fans are
like always notifying Tara. If you're so concerned about finding out about stuff without
you knowing, I'd like to have somebody knock on my door before they come
into my office, so you know, do you need to figure out who
you're gonna wrestle right now. I can't worry about this and good luck.
May I suggest proprivacy? Brook? Lock the door? Brother? Why would
you want me to? Why you want? What's it to you? If
my door's locked? Dude? What's going wrong? Dude? Brook? Can
I talk to you for a second? Yeah? Well what a what a
tera? Sayt Whosler? Who's who's locking doors? Brother? Who's behind closed
doors? Dude? Watch out the door in whole Hogan? Next, I
mean, try to figure out how why this thing can go man jobs online
at the end of the daw. I'm just trying to think about what's happened
at the end of the day. Dude. Know what's the endgame? Brother?
Brook? Why they're talking about closing doors? Dude? Are we closing
our doors? Brother? Did somebody tell I wasn't told? Dude, Yes,
Terry, we are, but we're still into the denial phase of that
whole thing. Um. Yeah, So Tara and Jesse Gotters walk in on
Bully and Brook apparently being intimate on a leather couch, and Brooke gets up
and starts adjusting her top and her card again like her tits working. I
mean, you know, I gotta say it is it is. You know
they shouldn't be fucking going into her office like that without knocking absolutely, you
know. Yeah, so Brook's gonna make her pay for that, uh,
that bit of poor etiquette. Back in the clubhouse, v Pie says Prospect
the club has voted breathing through his nose and we can all hear it.
I'm only going to tell you this once. Don't let the door in the
ass. On the way out, Doc is steaming. He's been kicked out
of Asis Nates because he lost his mask. Don't make me tell you again,
he scowls. Does Doc at the whole table like a whole Coogan before
the FBI barches in And he gets up and everyone is under the heat lamp
waiting for him to make his exit. And as he's about to leave,
he opens the door and bang a vest as they're being presented to him.
It was a rib. It turns out they aren't mask at him, or
at least they're satisfied with what he's done to make up for the fact that
he lost his mask. Doc Boss, and I know you're happy about this
is still a member of Asis Nates. Thank god. I was nervous there
for a moment I thought we'd have to find a new doc. They'll start
celebrating and smacking each other on the back and have a beer. That's bishof
favorite part of this whole stable, by the way, exactly beer bottles beer
beer beer. About a Thanksgiving episode of Impact November twenty second, twenty twelve.
It kicks off with Jeremy Borash in the ring with West Briscoe, who's
going through the gut Check challenge for Prospects second generation competitor from Tampa. Goofy
as hell is West brisco What a fucking idiot he is? As Borash says,
here is your gut check and he's facing Garrett Bischoff. Okay, yeah,
the veteran. The veteran Garrett Bischoff. I mean, that's who you
want to beat in the gut check visa v. West brisco He is indeed
the veteran, and he still has his name written in cursive on his tron
Bischoff, which is definitely a ticket to start him. Yeah, so yeah,
it'll it'll. The relevance to what's happening with Aces and Nates will become
clear as we go through the chronology here. But on this night, Uh,
Briscoe and Garrett mix it up as too, you know, wet behind
the years rookies and take down by Bischoff Briscoe with a basic hammer, lot
lots of chain wrestling together. I mean, seriously, like, what is
this? These are these are the two best catch grapplers in the business today,
supposed to be just basic, you know, rookie stuff. Right.
Honestly, it's kind of funny, like it reminds me of of kind of
the showcase stuff that we did at Renaissance Rumbles, you know, things right
exactly go behind and and aren't you know arm ringers and whatever. Right,
we share respect by pretending we're actually going to wrestle when we get a career
going, and then all we end up doing his high spots. Uh.
And then Kurd Angle walks down all smiles. He's going to preside over this.
He's still kind of in the position of a mentor to West Briscoe into
a lesser degree Garrett Bischoff. Of course, Jerry Briscos ties to Kurt Angle
very very close. You know. Key part of ushering Kurt into the business
was the um, you know, amateur wrestling fanatic Jerry brisco so he's happy
to play a role and trying to get West Brisko up and started in the
business here in TNA. It's weird. It feels like a it feels like
it does feel like a training camp match, not like a TV match.
Yeah, that was what they were going for with gut check, for sure,
But you're trying to earn a contract on TV. It shouldn't be a
training camp sum like, you should be wrestling at it at a higher level
then, yeah, at a training camp, you know. Yeah, problem
is these guys couldn't. Maybe Garrett could, but right, I wouldn't have
put him in against sucking Garrett Bischoff so angle. I mean, even though
even though there is a little bit of a payoff here, it's not really
he could have faced anybody here. It still wouldn't have affected the fucking the
quote unquote payoff. Yeah, it's kind of just like playing on the idea
that Kurt is picking one over the other to tag with. He's all headed
towards aces and eights at this point. I mean, not to reveal anything,
but it's pretty clear that west Briscoe was one of the masked guys in
the clubhouse, just based on how it fare falls, right, or I
can't stand his hair. Yeah, it's it's a it's a difficult thing to
countenance. It's really offensive. I mean, he he's he looks like he's
from the fucking nineties. So, you know, like nobody fucking told him
that that that the millennium changed change headlock takeovers and head scissors. And they
both tried dropkicks at the same time, and there's applause for that. West
pushes Tackle. You know, stop it with your fucking applause over stupid spots
like that. Well, they're into, you know, these guys trying.
They're into these guys being rookies. They don't expect them to be polished.
The double the dropkick to each other is one of the stupidest moves. Yeah,
stop acting like it's like, all both guys for a drop kick.
Why is that unrealistic? It's just not impressive. It doesn't it doesn't warrant
applause, Right, So tackle West with a monkey flip, Bishop drops for
a backdrop, and then Briscoe had something else in mind and just kind of
runs them over. So I don't know if they try to incorporate blown spots
into this match, but they certainly blew some spots. Yeah, I assume
it doesn't by design. Back to headlock, take down to slow things down.
Mike Tanee reflex and Garrett Bihoff is a referee in his early days in
TNA and notes he's actually the younger of the two in the ring right now.
As they exchange some forearms, West Briscoe with a swinging neckbreaker for one,
Bischoff drops West with a lariato, and then West hits the ropes and
corkscrews into almost an accidental cross body. I don't know what he was thinking,
but he just kind of launched himself in emotion. Lots of trips and
covers from there. West tries to suplex, but an inside cradle gets too.
There's also no selling, like it's just move, move, move,
transition move. There's no right, there's no there's no heat in this match,
like there's no like a match you do to show your trainer what you've
learned. I mean, it's it's more of a of a of like an
exhibition type match as opposed to an actual TV Here's like again, I don't
know why they put him in with Garrett Bischoff. To me, you want
to put him into soume with somebody else because it just doesn't feel right,
it feels stupid. Well, I think I think this is kind of happening
outside the conceit of the gut check. Now. It's like they're not trying
to make you care about West Briscoe exclusively. They're trying to get you to
care about this West Briscoe Bischoff storyline involving the two trying to win Kurt Angle's
allegiance, who cares Bischoff with a flap jack to as at this point too
not one has a wrestling background but also background in extreme sports. I don't
know the difference. And then Briscoe grapelinds the late about extremities. What's that?
Does he have background in extremities as well? No, it's no intel
on that, unfortunately, but I do know that he Ga grapelinds the leg
rolls Ford for Cradle to this West Briscoe and gets a one two three to
defeat Garrett Bischof here on the November twenty twelve, the Thanksgiving to thousand and
twelve episode of Impact. And then Kurt jumps in the ring and hugs West
like he's his hero, and they mentioned that West Briscoe is the first gut
check contestant to win his match. They always lose and prior gut checks to
TENNA wrestlers, which is just a great way to get a guy start.
Yeah, right, Garret Bischoff, by the way, looking like Ben Affleck
with the hair dry now and uh dapts up West Briscoe with respect, raises
his hand and we uh cut to women in the front row that undoubtedly Eric
Bischoff had planted there to make it look like women want Garrett. I mean,
he's such a dweeb. It's it's it's he really is, like,
you know, not going well, not not at all. He's such a
dufus is Garrett Bischoff. So you know, it's kind of funny. It's
kind of funny, how you know you got I mean, Eric Bischoff even
looks ruthless. You know, he even looks the part he always has,
even even when he was in his prettiest pretty boy there was like a ruthlessness
behind his eyes. Garrett Bischoff is a whimp. He's such a pussy.
He kind of looks like somebody that you would never really be intimidated by.
Not at all. He's the least scary individual I've ever seen. I think
they told himself somewhere that there's like a heartthrob baby Face and the guy and
that's not there either. No, no, but he's a loser. Credit
for trying and got on you for finding a way to get his wrestling school
paid for. He's the Yeah, he's he's the definition of the nwo's loser.
So, speaking of which, Eric Young and Odi be are in the
back with the turkey suit on. Here, here we go, here's some
here's some fun. Stor's office. Yeah, yeah, we want we don't
need to knock. Yeah, hello, Hi. Every year we have a
match on impact and we wouldn't like to do it again that we do it
every year's tradition. What do you want? I want to have the turkeys
to challenge to me? You know it's open fighting. N't you call out
a big hammers ralf or something? How far half crazy? I just want
to make sure you're cool if it we do it every year? Yeah,
you have the turkey? All right? Is this the drumstick? He's a
couple of breasts. Don't double breasts? Double biz? Okay, go just
please go all right, have fun. Watch out for aces and eights please,
they're everywhere. They tore up a whole rock. Just go, I
got your back and your front handle n be the best. I want to
be him when I girl double biz, double biz, double biz, double
biza, double biz, can't fab the ribs. I ate a lot wrestling
fans have been tricked, do it a lot? I ate a lot wrestling
fans. I've done alcohol and I've done Marijuan double bizz one two yeah times.
Place is deep beside me, screaming out so loud over the side of
saying it de way you fucking every time we do one of these dimes,
there's these diamonds in the rough, like he says, double bizzble for double
pressed, yes for od's tits right, let's played again, the whole thing,
just the whole double biz doublez. No he ducks like that. Fucking
idiots too, no, no doubt. If I've done alcohol and I've done
marijuana, okay, so so yeah, this was a tradition where someone wear
the turkey suit on the Thanksgiving impact always such money. It's another Mark mocking
it, and even Hogan when he says they watch out for races and eates.
It sounds like such a like an acknowledgement of how foolish the storyline is
because he says it in such an unserious way. Oh, I know.
I mean that's the thing too, it's so at the very beginning, it's
it's so not serious, it's so an afterthought. Yeah, it's so awful.
Yeah, it's I never liked how Hogan could deal with aces and eights
and compompmentalize this fucking assault on the company and then go and deal with,
you know, Bobby Rude and James Storm, or deal with Frankie Kazari and
Chris Daniels, deal with the X Division. He's like, he still has
time to be TNA administrator in the face of this mortal twenty four hour,
seven day a week threat. So h there's that with Eric Bishop without Eric
hung aces and nights. In case you're wondering, are enjoying a full turkey
dinner in their tree house? Of course they are. They have a lot
to be thankful for, after all. And you know, also by the
way you know, regarding him and his like Hogan's little perversions in that scene
not the way I would have carried myself on national television. So I was
in a legal fight over a sextage, I know, talking about double biz
exactly. Yeah, right, double bizz. I want to be in Why
I Grow up? Brother? What do you mean double bizz? What do
you mean double why? Pretending that's a phrase? Well? Whoever says double
breasts in about a woman's chest? And yeah, I get a question,
bost do you think Aces and Nates are eating Thanksgiving dinner with leather gloves on
their hands? Yes? You know that Doc is now a full patched member
of Aces Nates. Is it annoying when they talk about being patched? It's
it's it's just deplorable. Got some strippers for dessert, and the VPS that
throws a dart at the wall and they laugh, of course, because it's
always funny who the dart lands on. And then Jesse Godders ends up.
We're in the Turkey suit and Ace's Nates attack him with the hammer, attack
Eric Young with the hammer had him on foot because every Young's contract is expiring.
Austinarius comes out in a suit, says he's been telling everybody all night
that he's got some big things he wants to do and for the past four
or five months, he's been stating the fact that a double is not getting
a fair shaker around here, and how the playfield has not been very even
for Austin areas. Deck being stacked against the greatest man that ever lived,
and he says, as he takes a look at the landscape, he realizes
that there's one name responsible for all There is one name. There is one
name that is the root cause of all my problems. There is one name
that is holding me down, and that name is Hogan. It don't say
Hogan and seated his open fight nights. Right now, Hogan, I want
you to get your fake ten bleach blonde, big ugly ass out here.
Well, I should be more specific, Brook, Hogan gets your ass out
here for Cogan are He's just Quinn. He's calling it out. Brooke,
Come on, Brook, I'm coming through. There, we goout. It's
okay, sweet, it's okay to wrestle me. I know you're not a
wrestler, Brook, I know you're not a wrestler, but you know what
you are. You're a Hogan. You're the Princess Hogan. You're Daddy's little
girl. And you know what, Brook, you know what I'm sick and
tired of I'm sick and tired of the name Hogan. For the last twenty
five years, everywhere I've looked, every television said, I've turned on every
billboard I've seen, it's been Hogan, Hogan, Hogan. I go in
too. It's these duck people send Hogan, Hogan, Hogan, Hogan,
and I'm sick of it. Brooke, And you know what, I'll bet
you you're just as sick of the Hogan name as I am. Because being
a Hogan, being in the spotlights. I'll bet you it's real hard to
keep your private life privates. I'll bet when you were a little girl,
Brook you dreamed of the day you would find the man of your dreams.
You would walk down the aisle and you could finally give that Hogan name away.
I'll bet you would think about who you would be in your future life.
Maybe be miss Brooke Trump what Maybe you'd be Miss Brooke McMahon. But
I'll never I'll bet you you never thought in a million years that one day
you would never miss Bully Gray. I bet you never thought when you were
thinking about all the little kids you were gonna make, there'd be a bunch
of little bully maniacs running around. But you know what, knowing your dad,
I'll bet you he'd never let you hand that Hogan name away. No,
so I'll bet you's gonna have to be bully Ray Hogan. But Book,
you look a little confused, like this isn't quite adding up for you.
Yeah, don't you know what? Hey, let's take a look at
what happened a couple of weeks ago. Maybe this will help her fresh your
memory. I'm gonna just calm down. I gave you fall to my world,
look through it again. That's fine. There's always a loophole, man,
Come on, you don't let it. I mean, no, that's
innocent enough. That's just two colleagues. They could have been talking about anything,
right, I'm sure there's plenty of good explanations for that, very innocent
explanations. But explain this footage that happened last week. It might be a
little more difficult to explain. You know, let's just go in there than
tera believe rays. How dare you? You know? How dare me?
Brooke? Brooke? I mean, if you're that starved for attention, if
you're that hungry for some love, you didn't have to settle for the turkey.
A double would have gave you all the stuff and you can hand uh
huh. I think quick times stoles tell your life. But Tam Coogan,
his father, has to sound the real sounds, find the broadcasts. I'm
fine, what is going on here? I mean, what what? What
the hell? What is? I agree? What is this? So are
you not intrigued by the gradual way they're bringing along this Brook Bully romance.
I mean it's not gradual. I mean Austin what is his business? What
does he fucking care? It's very bizarre why he is the person chosen to
launch this. Yeah, I don't understand why he needs to do this,
Like what what does it matter? It's almost like they need someone who go
out there besides Eric and like tell a story. Explain this footage that's a
bishof idea. It was awful. Um so you couldn't quite tell from the
sound. But Bully races past Hogan as Hogan's coming out, and he gets
in the ring and faces off with Brook at ringside. The Hogan looks at
Brook like, wait a minute, brothers, there something to this, and
the hoof face is creeping in and Brook looks concerned like she doesn't want to
talk and goes running up the ramps. Whole Cogan faces off Bully and a
Chan Hogan. Hogan's got susmissions, Yeah me too. This episode of impacted
one point four one million average viewers, which was very good for the night.
The average leading into the show though, was a tick hire at one
point six four million, so they were down fourteen percent from their typical rating.
But we're gonna be tracking. It's just a good idea of whether the
Bully Brook romance showed, you know, signs of any kind of ratings momentum,
which, as we know, was the only thing that matters Derek Bischoff
at this point in time. Right, they were down twenty three percent from
month leading into Thanksgiving the year before. So if you take the Impacts from
November up to Thanksgiving in two thousand and eleven and compared them to the impacts
November leading up to Thanksgiving in twenty twelve, it's a twenty three percent drop.
So everything's going fine, and just for point in comparison, While Impacts
doing one point six four million viewers, Raw is doing four point four million
viewers. Jesus Christ Impacted. November twenty ninth, show kicks off with the
Hogan music. He comes out with a black dew rag and the yellowhaw Communia
T shirt, and there's a lot to say about what you're darn right.
There's a bunch of energy in the impact zone, brother, simply because last
week my world came together and almost self imploded in this building. As a
general manager, there's no doubt check that I run the show around here.
But I'm also my father number one, And last week, when I was
in the middle of this ring, you could say the general manager and the
father it collided right in this very ring. And everybody knows you'd have to
be on another planet not to figure out that something's going on around here.
And I want to know the truth, and I want to know him right
now. So Bully, you need to fess up and look in the eye
and tell him what's going on. Brother. It's my solo hipout reason the
Hawkster calling out Bully Ray's the ring a version Shusties publicly airing the videos to
show Bully Red and Hank's daughter certainly has struck a card with Hogan, but
it sounds like Hulk Hogan has some questions and Hulk Hogan, what's some answers
for Bully Ray? You need to let it out straight, and you need
to let it out correct the first time one is going on? Bully?
What's going on? You don't trust me, but you want to know what's
going on? Am I hearing you right? Hulk? You haven't trusted me
from day one. You didn't trust me when I stood by sting side.
You didn't trust me every single week when I've earned it and you know it.
Now you want answers because the crap boy, what's going on between you
and my daughter? Brook Let's brother? I didn't know what we're doing.
I got whether I'm between me and Brooke. I'm sure you want to know
answers? Is that what you want? You want answers? Who broke out?
Do you really want answers as to who the number one man is in
your daughter's life? The clutter, well it comes Brook Hogan obviously everywhere I'm
trying to taking him back. It sting that to a whole movie level of
first of all, and hope I'm Bully Range starring daddles of each other?
What is going on with you and Bully Brother? Dad I'm not eighteen anymore.
Why are you doing this? I don't care if you're eighteen or not.
I'm wanting the truth out of you. What's going on with you and
him? Brother? What do you mean? It's not what I think.
Let me tell you something, Brook, As long as I'm on the face
of this earth, I never want to see you with another wrestler, especially
him. Now what you look at this? This is just sad the Hogan
family. Yeah, Allie, and look at you eron all your dirty launder
your personal affairs and for the world and hold while you're wasting all your time
in there, you got Professor rustlers back. You're wondering when the general managers
and the come manage his professional wrestling companies. That's right, He's got the
best that this company has to offer. And I've got better things to do
than to be messing with you. It's whatever is he? He messed with
me? He trying the middle of the ring, worried about his daughter and
her relationships instead of worried about you. And it's Championship Thursday, so much
you got a title match. I'm playing all right here on your desk,
and I'm not going until you get back here and take care of business things.
Uncomfortable, man, this playing this thing? Can't you do it?
All? Right? As the Hulkster storms off, Bullie Rave looking on and
gentlemen, I don't know what to think of what we just saw. Welcome
officially everyone to Impact Wrestling Live. It's Todd Kennelly, the Professor, Mike
Taney, the human suplex Machine, Taz. Also that fucking guy whatever his
name is. He needs to just go away. Other Bischoff innovation because he
hitro switched out announced teams at the top of the hour, so that's definitely
one thing that's missing from Impact. And j JB was his color guy for
one week until everyone realized Jab's awesome at it. We can't have that,
So it just became Todd with Tazz and then Tonay and then they were three
men booth and it was I cannot stand that guy. I don't know why
he has listen. I'm not I'm not a complete Mike Tanee Mark, okay,
but this fucking clown has no business being being the fucking head announcer over
Mike Toney. That's Bishoff, man, He's he's gonna make those cosmetic changes.
What are his credentials. He was a broadcaster in a I think he
did minor league sports before this. Great, So you're gonna you want to
put him in over a guy who who knows this business inside and out and
who's also ruthless, you know, and a guy who shocked like Mike today.
Where do you say didn't like him very much? Uh? Kind of
tolerated him more than anything else, and I'm sure considered him part of like
a regime that kind of was more incentivized to see merit in the prior TNA
than in the current one. We're trying to change things up. Okay,
great, ye, yeah, see I didn't hire announcers. I didn't know.
I didn't announce. I didn't I didn't I didn't hire announcers. I
didn't want to hire announcers. And more over that, I you know,
we had we had a Bible and the Bible our story Bible didn't have,
right Mike Tnay as lead announcer. Tell me more fascinating things he had He
had done the announcer when I was working for Mark for Mark Burnett, Todd
Kenney had done announcing for whole cogin Celebrity Championship wrestling reality show too. Oh
so he was he was in he was in in like the Flynn, like
the Flynn. So yeah, that that that certainly didn't um So yeah,
I mean basically all Sinari's intimating that Brooke let the steam of her exposed pussy
out onto the desk. Yeah. I could smell it off the TV as
Bully Ray went to work. And that's basically well we're led to believe there.
Yeah, and keep in mind, we describe describe what it's like to
fuck Bully Ray last time. You know what he does, you know.
I also here's something too, something I actually I forgot to mention. So
when especially if he's like fucking Brook on a desk, okay, okay,
all right, he's like you know, you know, pants around his fucking
angles, all right, he's just drilling her, and then he's about to
come, all right, and he and he freezes and he gets that fucking
that that that that through the tables stare and his face turns red and he
just fucking stares off and he shakes a little bit, but he doesn't actually
stops. He stops thrusting like he when he's about to come. He just
stops and he just kind of lets it happen so normal, and the point
is, yeah, like you know, he doesn't get further excited. He
just kind of like stops and freezes and waits for it to come over him,
just with an angry, angry red face. Look, I mean,
we said we're going to cover every aspect of the story, and that's what
we're doing exactly. So Hoogan leaves the ring in a huff right away and
stops out unturned because it's pretty clear that, uh, what's going on.
No stone, no, no, no stones unturned for the love child of
Rob Reiner and Alex Jones. That's awesome, Thank you very much. I
actually don't if we can find the picture. I had a picture from a
while ago that I I don't know if I sent you or not, but
I'm gonna find it and send it to you because it's like he he really
could play Alex Jones, like in Alex Jones biopic. If that ever happens.
We find the documents, got the documents, and then Brook Hogan's left
in the ring with her mouth in her hands, just at horror at what's
transpiring transpiring here in the world. Better than having something else in her mouth.
So that's fine. Back to the clubhouse and they got a titty mag
on the table with a chain on it. The one guy goes boys.
You know what's funny, A lot of people think that the guys we hit,
it's just a matter of chance. They're throwing beer bottles around. You
see the way we lay down whoever the dark the dark falls on. That's
how we do it. But it's holiday season, time to be festive.
They actually have some Christmas lights they've strung up in the treehouse, so that
I guess that's a good thing. Let's touch Doc over there. Next week
gets to go one on one with Ken Anderson and he grips a pipe.
A hand grips a pipe, and Devon says, VP. It's all well
and good, but I want what was coming to me. I was never
be for it, Hogan. Next week, I want Samoa Joe. I
want my TV title back. If I get that, then we'll give you
our word. No one gets hurt tonight. But if you don't give me
that, all hell will break loose. So these guys are after ten A
championships. That's right, that's what they're after. That's that's what that's what
gives you control over the company? Later that not being executive producer or president
or whatever. No, but by having titles and championships, you can of
executive producers. Bruce Pritchard's backstage later talking to a production assistant and saying things
like, you know, everyone was supposed to be here at eleven thirty.
I'ven't seen them all day. And then Kurt ken Anderson comes up to pitch
something about what no Kurt Angle does rather about what's Briscoe getting a contract?
And let's things too while we're at it, pitch oh, yeah, there's
yeah. We've gotta dramatize and feature pitches on the air and all in.
Bruce Pritchard is preoccupied with the fact that Dilo is nowhere to be found.
Where's Delo? Where's Delo? Ben? And he asked Kurt, no,
I don't know where Delo is and says I've been calling him. I can't
get a hold of him. It's not like him to not be here by
now. Later on, Pritchard's on the phone and says he's been working the
phones all night, calling his wife nothing. I got nothing to text,
had called him, d m him on Twitter. We're gretting, ready to
do gut checks. So they're trying to find um Al Snow. That's who
they're trying to find. I'm sorry, they're trying to find Al Snow and
Dlo's playing dumb, as we find out later about not knowing where else Snow
is, saying things like I texted him and called him, DMed him on
Twitter, no answer. I mean, I guess he must be the only
person whose cares where Al Snow is. He must be well. Al Snow
is a judge on gut checks, and when they do these in ring segments
assessing the rookies, he'd be one of the guys that would, you know,
make comments. And they're about to go out and do this segment and
Al Snow is nowhere to be found. So Bruce Pritchard is a little perturbed
by that, and then all of a sudden, Dlow pipes up and says,
you know what, I've seen all the live gut checks. I can
stand in for Al Snow, and I saw all of west Bruce goes matches,
so I can assess him as a judge, and Bruce is like,
you know what, let's do it. It was like nothing else all the
options here, and of course this is a this Isdlo who's about to be
revealed as part of Ass and Eights, doing something to further the prospects of
West Briscoe, who's also going to be revealed later as a member of Ases
and Nights. So the gut check challenge for West goes down, comes down
to de Loo as the deciding judge, and he says, yes if West
Briscoe a contract, and he gets it, and their celebration and crying going
on backstage, hold Big and Bullyrago face to face. Ah, yes,
did Austin Aris offend you your daughter? Me? Yes, yes, and
yes I think I have the one. I don't have this one all right.
Hogan's breathing out of his nose. He says, if you wanted this
guy's frigging head kicked out, kicked in, why don't you talk to me
maybe for the first time in your illustrious career, you're confusing business with personal
hope, No, brother, he jumps back, and this must be that
face off Bully talked about when we did part one where he steps back from
Hogan and Hogan and yeah, right, this is backstage, not on the
ramp as Bully remembered, this is what maybe you are. He looks at
a portrait of Hulkogan on the wall in the office and shakes his head like,
what is what have you become? Wrangler responsoring TNA now, so that's
good to know. So changing the name from TNA to Impact Wrestling continues to
reap dividends in the sponsorship category. That's right. Later it's Austin Ais and
Hulkogan at the curtain saying this was my plan the whole time. I want
to thank you for waking me up. Brother. They play the audio over
Higgins's now is your time to get some serious dental work courtesy of RVD.
Brother, So Hulk's going to get back at Austin Earies by forcing him to
wrestle Rob Van Dam who by this point, if you're wondering where the hell
he's gone, considering how key a character he was exactly the early years of
TNH he's now challenging and battling mightily for the X Division Championship every week with
the likes of Kenny King. It's fine, I don't know what that is.
What's Kenny King? So Double A and RVD in the main event,
Bully storms out, grabs Austinaries and tries to power bomb them, but Airy
slips out of the way and Hogan comes out behind austin Aris on the rampway
takes off his watch. So you know what that means? Hogan like he's
on fentnel with his eyes at the top of the Ain't that the truth?
And they close the episode with Bully screaming, a huk still don't trust me?
Do you? Like I was out here to beat Austinari's asked for you?
Can I win your trust? Hulk Impact December sixth Brother if he looked
like that, oh my god, he does look like Alex Jones, especially
when you get the beard and he's like, you know, in an open
collar in the court. He seriously could fucking be scary. He could be
He'll play He'll play Alex Jones in the biopic Scember six Impact twenty twelve,
when Alex Jones is like fucking forehead burst from his yelling and screaming like a
fucking morn. Yeah, they have that in common too. Von Dudley gets
to fight Samoa Joe Um for the TV title like he had requested, So
yeah, I guess for all the fighting whole Cogan's doing against Ace's and Nates.
He very quickly backs down to Devon's demand. He grants them whatever they
want exactly, so it's not much of an invasion here, folks. And
again, I don't know why he needs they need to invade, Like,
why can't they just perfect example? Yeah, I guess I guess they have
to invade because they can get what they want by threatening to invade again if
you don't do X, Y and Z. But how you can't invade after
you've already invaded, right, Well, you've proven you can, and I
guess you withdraw threatened to do it again. We just actually they don't withdraw.
They just don't draw. How about that? Absolutely? So during this
match, a mystery girl jumps up in the aproning to distract HIMOA Joe and
Doc hits smoke. A Joe with the ball peen hammer. Divan covers him
and went back the TV title, the belt he had to relinquish when he
disappeared before Bound for Glory the October before due to contractual issues. Now,
Dealo is backstage with al Snow and they're talking about what happened last week.
What do the police know Snow said, they're bread a bood test. They're
wedding the results, but sounds like you I don't know what happened. And
Delos this sounds like you were gimmicked or something like that. It's one way
to put it, which means, you know, someone put up a drug
in your drink that caused you to pass out. I like how you know
they really have too many terms, too many they use. They use the
word gimmick for way too much shit they do. It's kind of pathetic.
Anything that they like don't want to actually take the time to understand, or
they know if they described it in detail it would be illegal. They call
a gimmick, right. I remember getting off a plane Wednesday night, Alicnow
said, having something to eat. But I woke up at the hospital but
no phone, no wallet, you know, I remember, I remember,
I remember getting off a gimmick and then going to eat a gimmick, and
then I ended up in the gimmick, ended up in a gimmick, on
a gimmick, gernie on a on a gurney gimmick, and I was in
a gimmick in a room, in a gimmick, and and a gimmick came
into visit me. Is that your best pull with the love sponge? So
Dealo says, I'm glad you're just safe and here safe. So that's that
closely too all I ever wanted safe and safe, brook learned from her father.
She's walking around backstage on the phone, Boss nothing like a twenty thirteen
hook Cogan walking around with the cell phone press too, an ear that's mostly
covered by a bandana. I mean, it's wrong with him, Brooks like
she's on the phone with someone saying the contract is done. Who she's talking
about, we don't know. And then Tara and Mickey are facing off in
the ring and Velvet Sky's music hits. That's who she was talking to.
What do you know? Bully Ray starting to get the rocket up his ass
and Velvet Sky is back and in full effect. Who hadn't seen her for
six months and she's back. She does a promo which is just laced with
irony considering what we heard Brooks say about the nature of her interactions in real
life with Bully Ray. Velvet Sky takes the mic and says, I want
to publicly thank Brook Hogan for taking care of all that. It's necessaries to
get me back here and Impact Wrestling. Thank you girl, wishes them both
the best of luck. At final resolution, the two wrestlers going for the
belt and says, I want to like you know, I promise you in
twenty thirteen that will be the year of Velvet Sky as Knockouts Champion. And
if you don't know now, you know that was supposed to be her catch
phrase. It's not a good one now. So that's all the confirmation I
need that a Bully and Velvet were together at this time. She comes out
declares the year that Bully's about to win the world title her year as well,
and turned out to be in the back of the clubhouse, the women
are all over races and aids on a pole and everything, and one of
them even looks like some array guys and masks. Yep um. He almost
lost his beer in orgasms to stop studs SuDS from overflowing. Come on,
baby, I want to play. They're saying things to these strippers. What
the fuck? Evans says, I might let you wear the belt, the
TV belt. He just wont He says, hey, Doc, come on
and chill out, And he's there all pissed off, sipping beer Evan says,
I tell you what, gentlemen, we need to throw a dart.
VP says, we already got to hit out tonight, pulls out some cash
and you don't. You don't even throw anything. Actually, it doesn't matter.
You don't have to ring exactly. No one cares about this dart against
the wall thing. It's you don't have to do. I mean, you
don't have to have the Asis and Ads do essentially what the TNA creative crew
does to come up with the week Show. In fact, the less you
do, the less you do, the better it is for everybody. One
of those cash bills goes in the brave one of these fine ladies, Steven
says, oh, testify, and the girls are all over each other's stroking
legs, and well that would be later imagine the fucking all of a sudden,
just fucking going down on each other by all that cash. Mike Teineke
concludes that the gang Asis and Aates has a financial backer. Excuse me,
later Angle wrestles Gallows and it's just another who the financial backer is. No,
not really, I guess we can assume it's a bully Ray. But
like this is that period of time where Bischoff does the thing, and they're
kind of hinting at a They're kind of hinting at some things. They don't
quite ever close the loop on telling me that they had many different ideas in
mind that they dropped for this. So later Angle wrestles Dock and to your
point, just another match, you know, it's the Saces and Nates Invader
and they're just wrestling totally cleaned within the rules for no reason with no stakes,
Olympic slam ankle lock case and Nates hit the ring disqualification. They surround
the ring. Gerrit Pischoff and West Brescoe come out with some oa Joe to
stop the The onslaught and the Aces and Ate scram and Divon is shouting at
Joe, and Angle grabs the mic and says, I got a pack of
my own, So wolf pack much? Yeah, it's so it's just I've
an nWo. We gotta have a wolf pack, right? Sure? Why
not? Angles is four against four? Any of you against any of us?
Had final resolution four on four. Later backstage, Hogan's on the phone
again. Hulk Hogan. Yes, yes, I've got every internet site.
I'm looking at it. Everything you sent me. But no one doesn't work.
Listen, call al snow, dude. I'm on the world Wide Web,
all right, dude. I've been looking on the world. I've been
hyping in you know, AOL keywords. Brother. I don't know if you
read the Internet, Terry. I read the Worldwide Web, dude. So
he's yelling at Joseph Park. We find out. He says, you know,
if you get through everything in OVW, I'll feel comfortable about talking to
you about maybe coming a work here as a wrestler. But until then,
leave me alone. And then Bully comes into the office. You need to
knock. Hulk says to Bully. You know last week I asked you for
a match Kins Sauce and Harries and he said no, you said him,
decided it's a better idea to give that to RVD. Today. I'm telling
you I do have this one. I do have this one for us to
listen. Is it in the ring? Nope? Not yet? Sorry,
Yeah, we'll get there. This one's in the ring. Hogan laughs at
this, and Bully goes, what the hell is so funny? Brother,
You're gonna give it to me right now? And Hogan didn't recognize you.
God amongst men Creme de la creme. I mean, my god, ten
times Hulk Hogan and Andre the I'm yo do I'm sitting here. Whoa,
dude, here's here's krem de la creme. Here's the fucking you know,
you're the peak of the mountain. Brother. Uh, you know the the
pizza on the pie, dude, the cherry on top. Brother. I
forgot. You must have slammed under the Giant in Detroit. You must have,
Brother, I forgot. Dude. You're the guy who who lifted up
the two thousand pound honor of the Giant brother on in Rustlemania three in front
of two hundred thousand people. Brother, and you slammed him, dude and
broke ground. Brother. Yeah, hey, we went there. I saw
the cracked pavement. That's true. Um, the trouble Wizard was up in
the balcony. Yeah right, Oh, that's right. You're Bully Ray,
and Bully Ray. The wrestling universe doesn't revolve around you. In Austin Ares,
there's a lot of guys in this business. He says, that do
a lot of big things. I have to think about. Also, the
answer is no, and he laughs. That laugh is sneaky when whole Cogan
laughs, Yeah, that's something you really prepared. Yeah, he realized that
early. He kind of has a Santa Claus laugh. Yes, Yes,
it's very uncomfortable, very very uncomfortable. It's not something that I want to
ever being in presence of ever. Bully's like, no, I bet you
by the end of the night, your answer is going to be yes,
I'm gonna make sure I get what i want tonight and I'm taking over your
freaking show. Ogans, just be careful what you wish for. Does the
eyes somebody getting your might all please? And if they fade out? And
then backstage, Bullies barking on the phone, presumably to Brooke, saying he
can't even begin to tell her how pissed off he is right now. He's
so freaking stubborn talking about Hogan. Not this week, no, last week.
I can't get Austinaris, so freaking stubborn taking over the freaking show.
And I'm gonna get what I want. I don't care, Fine, I'll
talk to you later. And now Bully Ray is in the ring but the
chair and he wants to fight Austinaris. Yeah, scenarios comes out. Bullies
sitting in the chair Hogan comes out gets in the ring. I think,
brother, that's where this is where I good yep, I was gonna take
care of business on my own. I ain't going nowhere until I get my
way and what I want. Huk Huk, Hulk, Hulk. I don't
understand something, Hulk. I want to fight austin Aries, and austin Aries
wants to fight me. But most of all, Hulk, all of these
people want to see us fight each other. I don't know about Thuck,
but don't you want to see us fight? So I'm sitting down in this
chair and I ain't going nowhere until I did what I want. Whoa Who
am I supposed to believe this crap? Am I supposed to believe this?
Bullie Ray? What do I look like a sucker? I'm supposed to believe
that you want to fight me? You know, if my memory serves me
correctly, last time we fought, I dropped you on that fat head ears
and I made you submit, didn't I. So you don't really want to
fight me. You have to come out of your pretend like you want to
fight me, because well, frankly, that's what a man does for the
woman he loves. He stands up for right, Austin, I want to
fight you so freaking bad. I dare you to getting this ring right now?
Oh oh, do you want me to come to that ring right now?
Huh No, yes I do, but they want you to also,
what do you donna want? I don't do what these people wants. I
do what I want. And what I'm gonna do is sitting right here at
a comfortable distance and continue to parade. And I'm not gonna leave here either.
I'm gonna sit here. It's just like you. I'm gonna take over
the show now. I'm gonna sit there and I'll sit here. Who'll Tiny's
pretty cast my, I'm he said, hoss me feels to make this match
comes Tumble One question only business Personal one two, Trenoble Love trick the music,
row down, Tumble does Okay, I'm gonna fix all the impact business
right now. For thirty years, I've been nothing but business in this ring.
And let me tell you something, awestoinaries you em boy, I'm gonna
tiny right now. I'm not making the stinking match. I'm not gonna let
you push me around. I'm not gonna let it bully push me around because
the way it goes around here, I'm the general manager of Impact Broke.
And you either get out of that chair and get out of my ring,
or I'm gonna fighter ass or I'm gonna kick it right now. Yeah,
yeah, fight fight, fight fight, Come on, guys to see Come
on, you want to do it? Look as Brook Hoby looking for daddy.
Stop? Maybe Mark Mark? Maybe Bully is right. Maybe you're making
it too personal. He's a Mark Parter. Did you just call him Mark?
Brother? Let me tell you something. This is what you want?
Huh? Is what I want? And you want the match and you want
the match? Huh? Maybe he's right. Well, let me tell you
something. You and you and especial you had made this personal. You got
your damn match. You got the match. Brother, who we'll see.
That's why he does it. He does it because Bully because it gets him
what he wants from Hulk Hogan. Uh yeah, I guess, I guess
Mark Rother. Who's what? Who? What? Who's are you dating him?
I'm not gonna brother, I'm gonna Mark dude? What's going on him?
Brother? Bro? Do you smart? Brother? Would he do you
smart? What did you tell him? How the business works brother brother.
That was too much. I can't wait to get to that one because I
don't remember him saying that. I don't know where that's from. I mean,
what the fuck is up with this guy? He's like a pull toy.
He's like, he's yeah, he is, He's gonna bebe He is
a pull toy. You guys got no fucking concert of the American language?
Did you just call him Mark? What do you what? Who's Brook?
What's going on? Does he know where I live? Broke Broke? Do
you tell him? Has he been to the hisizzel brother? Excuse me,
dad? The what I want to know if this guys, if Mark's been
to the hisizzel brother? Do you know when um bubb his nickname for Hulk
was nood what hoodie? I'm sorry to say that again. Hoodie hoodie?
H O O T I E like in the Blowfish yep, you know I
heard this and I wasn't sure. They did the uh Rich and Shameless thing
on t NT where they went through the whole Coaker scandal and they played a
clip from Bub's radio show, and sure enough, when Hogan calls in,
he says the following, hoodie up ah and Hannah, I'm gonna Holt calls
in and Bubba says, who do he app roller soub dude, what's going
on? Bizl I'm doing fun bro, You okay? Talk at the radio.
Terry's all right, Terry? How many? How many accounts does it
take to get to the Tutsie roll Center for Tutsi Pop one? Two?
I would say anymore? Later on this Impact, Jeff Hardy wins a sixth
man with James Storm and aj Styles. They hoist he hoists up both straps.
Jeff Hardy, still your world champ, still wearing the Diva's and the
Aces and Eights swarm on them. James Storm saves the day and then Rod
tells us he made an investments and Aces and an investment in the Aces and
Eighth, so they're the that's the one that paid him on Rudes, Rudes
the guy, Yes, just for a moment, Ruds the investor. Yep,
he's out there. After being of course falsely accused months ago of being
behind Aces and aids and fighting the accusation with all these worth he then just
descides to pay them off and do just the same thing, but just for
a week, so it's fine. He comes out giving the Aces Nates and
thumbs up as they beat up Jeff Hardy in company and it was their cash.
I remember how offended he was a few months ago at the suggestion he
would do such a thing. Yet here he is so no integrity in this.
Bobby Rood, who's going nowhere? By the way, if that isn't
apparent to you, I now it makes me sad. But the final resolution
pay per view, Brook actually ran in and stopped Austin Arities from killing Bully
Ray and one. When Hulkogan comes out and distracts a Bully Ray for the
one two three, the Aces and Nates attack Bobby Root again on that pay
per view as well. The December thirteenth Impact sees the Aces and Nates now
targeting Jeff Hardy and James Storm instead of whoever they used to be targeting.
So they just decide to go from being exclusively about the people that Hulk Coogan
is backing to now attacking people in the world title picture. It's such a
it's so poorly done. Hulgan goes up to a production assistant and says,
where's Austin Aires. Bobby Rood, he paid off Aces Nates it's true.
Gets a phone call, it's aries. Let me tell you something. Let
me talk to him. Remember us, and there's a body. Roots are
aligned at this point, they're technic. Let go of the phone. Stand
back, He says, this is where to god. Stand back. Stand
Back says, no, I want to see you. Wait a minute.
You know what, You're not the one that's gonna be barking out orders.
I'll let you speak your mind, but I want you to come clean and
tell you what the hell's going on with aces and eights by the end of
the by the end of the night tonight, this is Hogans orders to aries.
Backstage, Bully goes into Hogans's office. Hey, what are you doing
in here? Brother? Holy? What's the Fu's going on? Dude?
What are you doing you? I just want to know if you've had to
change is different opinion now after final resolution, Well, you apparently don't realize
how big of a problem causing you because your personal Shenanians not being man enough
to come to me and say, hey, me and your daughter get this
thing. You know, we want to talk and be friends. But no,
you know, your personal BS has turned into my business because my daughter
wouldn't have been at Austin Arey's disposal. She wouldn't have been at Harm's Way
if it wasn't for you sneaking around the back door trying to make something happen
on the side. So everything that's going down, I haven't changed my mind
one bit about the way I feel about you and the way I feel about
this situation with you and my daughter. It's become business for me. Now,
what makes you think I got anything going on with your daughter? Well,
she's personally invested, maybe invested in me. Maybe it's me, maybe
your daughter. He's making googly eyes at me? Did you ever think of
that? What makes you think I'm doing it back? Or maybe it is
one sided, Mark, you know, maybe it is just her that's chasing
you around, And maybe she's the one that threw you down on the couch
in my office and was nobody rolled down on the couch. We were sitting
next to each other, and she was apologizing for you because you have been
treating me like, how's that? Well, if that's the way it is,
and I'm dead wrong about this thing, there's no reason for you to
ever see her talk to my daughter again. Because maybe it was my fault
that she went running down the ringside and almost got her teeth kick back then
by austin Arius because out you're telling me listen, all I did was come
down and try to shut the guy up. I know what the guy is
like. I was trying to show respect for your daughter. It's called doing
the right thing. I should be on team Hogan for standing up for your
daughter, for standing next to sting. I'm bled turn your respect. What's
gonna take Terry, Let's not. I don't respect respect for and I've always
had respect for you from the first day I met you. Well, don't
let that or a seatbelt hold you back or maybe even my daughter. But
your daughter does. It is her business. She's a grown woman. Get
over it, brother, Week week, he says at the end week.
First of all, he says, um uh, you're sneaking around the back
door, trying to make something happen on the side. White is a problem.
Why I want to know, dude, why are you sneaking my daughter's
back door? Brother? Why you in? Brooks Ass pretty much says,
but laps Token would say, how about don't let that or a seat belt
hold you back? Ye? Brother, don't want that or a seatbelt hold
you back? What a cool line? Huh No, he's such a fucking
idiot. Um. I mean, I don't know thoughts on police performance there.
It's so annoying. I can't stand it. Yes, I mean he
is, he's George Costanza ball. He's getting upset. It's like I never
thought of that. It's like, what the fuck is screaming? All of
a sudden he explodes that Hogan Like every single backstage segment he ends up screaming
like, you gotta remember he's your boss, right, Okay, he is
your boss no matter what. And I don't think any boss yes to be
talked like that or or you know, let's their employees talking about me and
let him get away with it. What if you're screaming at your boss to
respect you, not to intimidate him, but to you know, it's not
your call to to have your boss respect you. Your your boss gets to
respect you whenever they want. And here's a wrinkle. He's saying that what
if it's Brooke it wants me and I don't want on her brother. They
were just sitting on the couch and she was apologizing for the way Help's been
trading bully her, dude, was that you're just sitting on the couch and
you had her your hand up of vagina. Leave that part out, dude,
brother? Did you leave? Did you? Did you fist Brook?
Brother? There's a reason that she had to apologize in the form of blowing
you on the couch. Brother. I have videotape of you blowing or her
blowing you. Brother. Do you want to confirm her deny this? Dude?
I don't know, Terry, you got anything out there that I could
look at. Watch the tape, dude, counterbalance, Watch the tape,
brother, I've sat there and watched the tape. Dude, sure you have.
How may I have to take you to court? Brother? I gotta
watch this thing, dude. It's gonna make me sick, but I gotta
watch it for legal purposes. Dude, I gotta watch Brooke blowing you and
you grabbing her tits? Brother, David, Brother, can you leave us
alone here for a seconds? Ago, can watch this tape. I'm gonna
watch my daughter blow fucking bully here. Brother. It's fine. Any proud
dad would do. It's a normal thing, and dad does dude exactly.
Impact December twelfth of twenty twelve, still twenty twelve. You gotta be kidding
me, man, it's so awful. Comes out, Hogan. You guys
make me feel like I'm eighteen years old again. Brother. Oh, here
it here, here, this is and it's still two thousand and twelve.
You gotta be kidding me, man. You guys make me feel like I'm
eighteen years old again. Brother. You know, speaking of two thousand and
twelve, this has been one great year for Impact Wrestling because I've been around
a long long time and I saw this little teams of the Prompty start to
grow and start to grow, and now it's become a full fledged monster,
brother, in two thousand and twelve. And what's so cool about it is
there so much talent in the back. The pay per views have been so
great, the impacts on it has been so off the hook. It's hard
to decide who's the greatest of the grace back there. That's why. That's
why, brothers, we're giving all the fans a chance to vote for the
Impact Wrestler of the Year. And we're gonna let all this voting go all
the way until the end of the year. But I want to let everybody
know that on a very special episode of Impact. We're gonna announce the winner,
and that's on January third. We're gonna find out who told Joy who
talking about dot Com? We're gonna find out on January third episode of Snell.
He's gonna go on out. Here's a lot of no watch. You
know, you've been telling so many lies. I'm beginning to think you honestly
believe them. You honestly think that two thousand and twelve was your year.
No, two thousand and twelve was the year that Aces and Eights was born,
was the year that Aces and Eights beat the hell out of every single
one of those DNA so called wrestlers you got back there, You see,
Hogan, it goes like this, this club right here represents the truth,
not that garbage you've been telling these lies to these people out here. You
see, two thousand and thirteen will also be the year. Two thousand and
thirteen will be the year for Aces and Eights. It will also be the
year that Aces and Eights be revealed and gold be accomplished. But the only
thing with that, Hogan, is that two thousand and thirteen you won't be
around to see any of it unfold. The top two can't help out here.
I'm telling you this is not good. It's not good hitting the trust.
Help you an, you're gonna get him the form of Bully Rain only
ray and runs off to us Lakes. He's got that change y a piece
of crap. I seen the Warriors, Dick. Only Rain has really been
trying to earn the respect, the trust of whole Coogan. This might have
been a step in the right direction. Really came to the Heston's height here
tonight. Thankfulness we did. It's fucking right. It's just totally fine.
It's a good storytelling. Just like just to hear Divon pretend to be a
good promo handering trying to find the words. He's awful. He's no good
when he says the only thing with that Hogan in twenty thirteen, you won't
be around to see any of it unfold. Yeah, he's about right point.
We've been talking to as what what where am I going? Dude?
So what happened there is Bully hit the ring with the chain and Ace's and
Ate scrammed even though it's like ten on one but whatever. So Bully basically
saves Hulk from a beat down here and Bully's trying to earn the respect and
trust to Hogan. They look at each other quietly with stern faces, and
Hogan steps to him and says do it, Hulk, don't do it,
and going back and forth, and Hulk ultimately walks right by Bully as he
exits. Music plays Bill. He stands there with his hands on his hips.
Despite saving the day and saving Hullo Coogan from a sure ass whipp he
still doesn't feel like he's getting the respect from the Hulkster that he's seeking.
He's not. Later in the clubhouse, is still Christmas, Like, when
did we didn't even know him? Boom boom bootom ba boom boo dude,
and he now hunched bottom dude mainly Leandy, I just added that a races.
Indeed, I had Boss go on races. Indeed, here we come
a downtown. Keep going. Here we come a downtown. We're races and
indeeds, we're races and dates. We like to look around and we see
he witty downtown. We're gonna take a dodd and stick get in her pick.
Sure, no sticking in my bottom. Malpen hammered to the forehead Mike
Tyson in the stable, Mike Tusson in my asshole. Mike Tyssoon is a
president direct it, So Bully raise here with us. Bully, we want
to thank you so much for taking the time to reflect back on, you
know, one of the proudest points of your career, the aces Neat storyline.
I first want to start off maybe a little bit of mythbusting. Can
you confirm or deny the rumor that originally it's supposed to be called Mike Tyson
fucks my asshole? True? Yeah, I heard? Can I scream on
this? Yeah too late? Bully fucking morone. He's so overwhelming, like
you know, you know that's the thing. He's like, Yeah, he's
got such like nuclear energy coming from his body, Like just being around him
is exhaustibly So they're in the clubhouse. Can somebody tell me what the hell
just happened out there? Whole Cogan's right in the middle of the ring and
all of a sudden, Bully comes running down. Did they just check us
out there? We need numbers, bodies are We're just gonna hand out patches
to everybody that comes along for this club. So, so okay, So
here's okay, I have a problem here because you don't say, are are
they Are they supposed to be kafabing in front of the cameras or what?
Yeah, we don't talk about why the cameras on these people. We take
all this extra effort to shoot wrestler's backstage in a way that isn't like wwe
We're like there were flies on the wall. We're looking through the blinds of
Hogan's office. We're catching up to them as they're walking through the curtain.
We're chasing them to the parking lot, trying to get on the fly interviews.
We go through all the all that effort and all that rigamarole to have
like a logical basis for why these wrestlers are caught on camera backstage. Yet
with Aces and Ates, the camera just hovers there. We can only assume
they're purposely distributing this for like propaganda purposes. And if that's the case,
why would they also include their most unflattering, acrimonious meetings where they're like at
each other's throats and there's no harmony. It's very odd to me, it's
very Ian. Devon's the sergeant at arms of Asis and Nates, and they
call him serge. They thought that was going to be a thing. Let's
probably totally normal. Devon says he might have someone for the job. There's
a lot of leather crankling, and they say, let's vote, vote on
it all in favor of the sergeant reaching out and arranging a sit down.
Excuse me, what now? With who? Why? One yea? Two
yea? I'm thinking is this their drug order? And they get the answers
that were looking for votes? Three yea yoh Ogan's backstage, Jason Hervey approaches,
can I get some fresh comments in the Heavyweight Picture World title? Dothing
but chaos right now? First thing on my agenda is to get straight now
twenty thirteen, I need I needed to back off brother. Yeah, he's
thinking something like that for sure, but he says, I probably get things
back on track. The mess that is the Heavyweight Picture is going to have
to get straightened out. First order of business in twenty thirteen, the Holster
says. He says, thank god, this year is almost over and you're
not getting as you know that years are all fiction, right Like? He
doesn't actually start over pal what about eight aces Nates is brook situation and distraction?
He says, the distraction is the aces and eights, this Bully and
Brook thing. We just chose. We chose that January first would be the
date. Yep, you know it could easily be uh, you know,
May fifteenth could have been the date of the new year. It doesn't fucking
matter. It matters that it wasn't chosen. I guess it could have been.
I mean it wasn't. And also May fifteenth could have been January first.
Brother, We just brother, we just chose to call it that.
Let's not taughtly, you know, there's no actual new year, Pale,
It's just that we've made a rotation. Well, considering the crisis that was
twenty twelve on whole Coogan's personal life, I for one can't blame him for
hoping, even as false and fictional as it might be, that the turning
of the calendar would mean the turning of a new leaf for him. It
doesn't mean anything though. That's just all psychological, it's all in his fucking
mind wrestler style. Yea. So yeah, he's trying to blow off the
significance of the Bully Brook thing as a distraction to him. And then what
then, what do we see? He looks across the parking lot and there's
Bully pinning Brook against a car, making out with her. Ogan loads in
the Dodge charger peels off. Brother Jason Hervey says something like, now you
see it for yourself. So Hogan was still in denial. I thought he
was already over the fact that there was something going on with these two.
Why does him I don't know, seeing Bully just absolutely consumed. That's one
thing. One thing. I mean, it's one thing to hear about it.
It's another thing to like, yeah, I guess you're right, yeah,
drives away. Remember I remember, like I remember hearing about you know,
my uncle catching my my youngest cousin with his girlfriend, right and she
had no shirt on, and that's happened, you know. Yeah. So
this Impact did one point two seven million viewers, which was not considered good
because it was lower than they had been averaging. And this was the first
Thursday without an NFL game in some time for the Impact had to go up
against did go up against an NBA game. But there's always something, and
it should have made an improvement after football season ended. There is always something.
You know what it is. It's called bad writing. Despite this intrigue
of the bully Brook storyline. It's not showing signs of life at the end
of twenty twelve. Necessarily, It's pointed out in The Observer that last year
in November, Impact averaged a one point one seven rating and one point six
one million viewers, and then in twenty twelve that had dropped to point nine
six and one point two seven million. So again, one point six one
to one point two seven, an eighteen percent drop in ratings and a twenty
one percent drop an audience. I guess because Hulk Hogan's just such a big
draw again kind of disappeared in the winter of twenty eleven two. Let's not
forget that, yea, So those higher ratings are indicative of a hull not
threaded into every segment of the show. Here in twenty twelve, that is
not a problem. In the winter, Hogan's on eight times a show and
ratings are down twenty percent, And you tell me that that's because I don't
know, Dixie didn't want to go on the road or a bullshit. How
about the fact is that people didn't want to see how Cogan on television and
wrestling in Two Things twelve and thirteen. How about that's the answer, you
know. And that's the funny thing too, that that is also another thing
about wrestling that I find to be that is very unique too, wrestling in
that way, whereas if you had a movie star who had been as successful
as Hogan and then declined and then made a comeback like Hogan, the chances
are they'd be pretty legendary and be untouchable in terms of, you know,
their star power. But wrestlers are not like that. Like, wrestling is
all about moving on to the next thing, right, you know, and
figuring out what it is that people are going to be interested in after this
thing is done. It's almost always the next match, right, And if
you don't have a match coming up, people are gonna get sick of your
ass because it's not going somewhere, not leading to a big physical blow.
I mean, that's been the whole consensus of the entire teenage. Yeah,
you nailed that. Like episode thing, It's like, if you're not billing
to a match, Hogan's worthless. I hate to say it, he's certainly
it's certainly hard to discern what he is worth. I mean, if you
if you bristle at the suggestion that he's worthless in this in these years to
tell me, I mean, look at the ratings before they came in and
after they came in him and Bishop, and you tell me what he's worth.
It's not a hell of a lot. It's certainly not enough to justify
paying him a buck five. It's certainly not enough to thread him into ten
out of fifteen segments of every episode. Certainly not enough to you know,
basically not have a top storyline that doesn't somehow involve him putting his imprimatter on
it. There's no evidence to suggest that he should have the kind of ubiquity
that he does. And also to add on that, you know, the
smoke and mirrors of the of the little physicality that he gets into is not
work. Is old now, it's not working. It's like, there's no
you can't do that anymore. You can't try to like get me excited over
something that's not going to happen. Right, I know it's not going to
happen. And I've seen him knock down twelve heels in a row with right
hands, Like I'm not I'm not criticizing the guy because that's all he can
do. I'm just saying you don't get it if you think putting that on
television is a way forward. Now if deep down you don't really want a
way forward. Now we're talking. Now we're getting closer to the truth,
which is that everybody's trying to just ride this gravy train as long as they
can. It's that simple. But there's no gravy train. Well, they
are getting paid a lot of money him at Bishop, Well they are,
yes, But I mean, like the show that TNA is not gonna there's
no gravy train for TNA. Oh no, certainly not. That's why it's
a gravy train. It is because well maybe I'm mixing metaphors, but I
think I think, well I think off a gravy train is that you god,
you win too, you hit, you hit something gold and so you're
just gonna fu. Yeah, that's a very good point. Yeah, maybe
gravy training is the wrong metaphor to use. It's just sort of like,
you know, I'm getting money. I don't really I can't justify getting So
let's if that's the case, then let's just run in place as long as
we can until somebody pulls the plug on this thing. Because this is just
too rich health makes the most money when business is going down, it seems
like, because that's when the locked in nature of his contract starts to really
bite. We saw the games they had to play after Batchel the Beach two
thousand, with Brad Siegel icing him and telling Vince Russo not to bring him
back, and them sending him letters inviting him to pay per views towards the
end of WCW's existence, knowing he wouldn't show up so they could withhold payment.
You know, it's like, this guy leaves you in a fucking bind
man if business isn't overwhelmingly good, because he's still getting paid. In fact,
he's probably getting paid a little bit more than he was on the contract.
That was the record record revenue year and that's um So, this is
just kind of sad for a Spike that was singing a song apparently about ratings
improving after football season being over. So people did watch this late December rating
pretty closely. For that. They have Bellatoor Mma, which they bought,
launching in January twenty thirteen, hoping to use impact as a big springboard to
do really good ratings. Talking about fucking Bellator, what's that those those last
segment shows all you do is fucking hear about beat it hard and and to
me, like what that is is not like a vote of confidence that TENA
can help us build up this brand and has a seat at the table.
To me, it's just like Spike being like, let's get as much as
we can. Please stay, yeah, like please, you know, stay
and watch this because this is gonna be way better. We really care about
is making Bellator successful at this point and a tenahs vector for that, because
to in my mind, we're seeing a future passed today. We're positioning ourselves
to try to hook as many viewers of TNA because theyre not going to be
there very long because we're not. We want to get into the we want
to get into the real sports. Uh fight. They start promoting the TEENA
and Belatore together as four hours of rage in the ring and in the cage.
Let's sell it as as a fan, as a fan, Let's sell
it as a block that was the hold TNT thing of Nitro. It's like,
let's make it Monday Nitro Across and it would not just Monday Nitro Wrestling,
but Monday Nitro a movie. Right, sell it is like this action
night that advertisers could buy Final Impact of twenty twelve, December twenty seventh.
Bully Ray stomps out says, it's very very obvious that over the past couple
of months and weeks there's no out I got it for you. Wait,
there's there's one doubt. It's very very obvious that over the past couple of
months, the past couple of weeks, there is no doubt that me and
Hull Colging cannot get along. Hulk. I don't know what I gotta do.
I have no clue what I have to do to prove to you that
I I'm trustworthy. I got a lot of respect for you, Hulk,
A lot of respect for you. I said, tonight is open fight Night.
I want to call you out. I want to call you out,
Hulk, but I don't want to call you out here to fight. I
want to call you out here to talk. Let's tell you that shot.
This is gonna be interesting, isn't it? Find me? Bully Ray hits
the opportunity on Open Fight Night, issues a challenge, calls out open Olden
for a conversation. They can advantage to the Open Fight Night format to get
some face time with the holster. A lot of it is to be settled,
Brower. Where is the holster? For allie? What's going on?
I mean, no doubt the daughter hold and well as we do. For
us, it's kind of hard to even talk about. And it's kind of
awkward comfortable. Where is your father? Who's your fault? I want to
talk to boys book thing that that I was talking last night. Yeah,
he knows, he knows. I don't know how he knows what he knows?
What are you talking about? He knows? What does he know?
Why would they do in front of a live audience? He knows about?
Let us? How does he know anything? There's nothing to know? How
could he? What do you? What do you mean? He? I
don't know how he knows me. But somebody must have had a phone to
take a picture of us. Somebody must have told him. I don't know,
but he's not here, and I know that here is not the right
way to deal with this anymore. We gotta go see him and I want
to show him that you're the man that I know you are well? Getting
fruit is? As I said, anything what you to know? There's nothing
to know? Brook? How could anybody who hello? Everyone it's to Kennerley,
the professor, Mike Tonay, the human suplex Machine tas what an awkward
and uncomfortable way to kick things off. I agree opening up with that fucking
clown of the commentator is very often. We don't think that was good acting.
Between Billy and Brooks. Oh God, who's so stupid? It was
good stuff, Boss. They would be subtle, they were delivering their lines
convincingly. They were talking off microphone for God's sake. I mean again,
I don't understand why you would have if if there's a real life Brooke would
go up to him say can we talk please, and you just leave.
You don't fucking have this conversation in front of thousands of people. And it's
not the why is she so flummix as to how Hulk knows about them when
at the end of last week's impact on national television everybody saw you sucking bullies
fucking tongue down your throat. There's that, And then also, why is
bullies saying there's nothing to know? Oh, because he's like, right,
we agreed to lie about this. I mean, you can tell Velvet that,
but Jesus Christ, don't tell the American public that. So yeah,
this is um. This is developing. Is developments have been ongoing. Later
on the show, Aises and Eates are backstage. Deemon's drinking a beer and
he says, it's a little difficult to do with a little arrogant, but
you know what, if we make him part of this club. I think
we got him. Who he is, we don't really know yet, says
Yeah, we have to make him feel like he's part of us. Hey,
Doc, the door opens. Doc comes in with two ladies. Is
this going to work or what he says to the boys? Oh yeah,
he says, looking at him, going to work just fine. In other
words, Devon's going to fuck these women. Oh yeah. Then Don says,
you're the right man for the job. He would bring a certain amount
of asshole to the club. Who could they be talking about? Ken Anderson?
Mister Ken Anderson says Devon, You've assured me I'd be safe here,
so I'm all ears to listen to the aces and Nate's pitch. Devon says,
this is going to be tough. We have a certain agenda that the
club needs to attend to, and it might be physical and maybe even more
physical as the ladies come up to him and Ken Anderson, you guys drive
a hard bargain, don't you. And one of the things he's gonna hard
cock for these women, right, they're trying to get Ken Anderson off.
So he joins as Nates and he says. One of the girls whispers in
his ear, and he says, but then again, it would be rude
to not even consider it. And he's talking with that you know, that
vocal fry that pisses me off so much. Oh yeah, Oh, give
me some time to think. Yeah, and then it'd be rude and I
even consider it, sure, they say, and it makes a moaning noise,
and tell you what. I'll tell you what. Let put my cock
in your pussy and we'll talk turkey straightforward. So yeah, they're trying to
recruit Ken Anderson into Aces and Nates by giving him prostitutes. Yea. And
this is around the same time that they announce as twenty twelve comes to a
close that they are officially going to be cutting back significantly on the amount of
pay per views they do starting in twenty thirteen. They're pushing out Hype in
late December to the March tenth, San Antonio Alamo Dome lockdown pay per view
great, and that is, yes, the Alamodome that hosted the nineteen ninety
seven Royal Rumball. They're running that building. Why Dixie was out around the
time, saying that she always thought eight would be a better number of pay
per views a year, but they had contractual commitments as we discussed to provide
twelve to the pay per view companies, and it was thought they might be
closer to eight in shrinking the schedule. But when all of a sudden it
was clear that they're just going to do like four, it was like,
wow, they are really cutting back around here. As for Hogan, he's
ringing in the new year with his latest venture. Um. He got a
lot of publicity for the opening of Hogan's Beach, Yes, twenty thousand square
foot restaurant in Tampa on the Ocean. They opened New Year's Eve with a
party. Rick Flair was there with Wendy Barlow. Jimmy Hart's there at Leslie,
Matt Morgan, Austin airis bushwacking out here. Jimmy Hart was there and
I don't believe it. Oh yeah, the whole crew is there. It's
like they hang out in thunder in Paradise. Yes, and so this is
this is how Cogan's life now, just doing all of these side ventures when
he's supposed to be, you know, trying to get TNA back on track.
He's he's gonna earn money. He knows TNA's coming to a close,
he knows it's going to be done. Yeah. What are you starting to
sense here from Hogan? You're starting to sense an exit strategy. I don't
know about an exit strategy, but I definitely feel like there is a lack
of you know, I think I think he realizes he's not going to stick
around after his contracts up. Yeah, yep. And he's aggressively diversifying,
like his outside wrestling interests, in his outside wrestling ventures, and it all
got kind of way laid a bit by the sex tape stuff in twenty twelve.
But he's not taking his foot off the gas in terms of trying to
exploit his likeness, his ip, his name, and as many venues as
possible. And what better way to ring out a very difficult year for the
Holster than surrounded by a hundred strangers and four or five of his best friends
at the newly Christen in Hogan speech, I got the babe in my life,
Hamper Bay say, I ain't waiting on the crank wing. I ran
down the play down. Why are you going to tavern right now? I
would like to formally walcome you in the Pampa Bay New Year Down. We're
gonna come down. We want to. I'm going to back and get my
drink on and we're gonna be good night. We're gonna get crazy and we're
gonna count down what you're gonna do? We hoping me rouns wild on you brothers
