Speaker 1: Reality with the King is hosted by me, Carlos King. I'm an executive producer who have produced some of your favorite shows from the Real Housewives in Atlanta, New Jersey and my own creation, The Love and Marriage Franchise and Bell Collective. Every episode we recap reality television from the Real Housewives Franchise to The Bachelor or Selling Sunset, in addition to celebrity guests, whether in the unscripted space or scripted as well.

00:00:36
Speaker 2: This is me when I sleep dustin.

00:00:38
Speaker 3: I'm yep tired. I was leaning on that ring they stand on in the turret. I was leaning on their ring the whole episode, and shit like, wake me up when it's over. God damn it.

00:00:56
Speaker 2: The entertainment is.

00:00:57
Speaker 3: Gone, gone no more. No more of Candice's antics, no more of her her fashions, no more of her witty retorts, no more of her wonderful interview confessional scenes that we adored that added just the right amount of context and camp to the situation. We don't get any of that no more. What are we stuck with? Carlos Natalie Steven who Eric? We stuck? We stuck. We ain't got nothing, man, nothing, We ain't got ship Okay, we ain't got ship left for us on this damn show. Nothing. I'm Eric, so yes, yeah, yeah, we love Eric. We love Eric. He cool, but yeah, like you know, it just it's a different show. We were watching Carlos. This is a different show at this point. Let me tell your personality, you know what I mean.

00:02:03
Speaker 1: It's it's and you know, look, one of the rules of big a reality producer is the fact that you never ever want to assume that, Okay, this person is the show, and when this person is gone, the show unwrapplers, because you know, all the girls be like, I'm the start of the show.

00:02:23
Speaker 2: There's a show without me. You know, we all like a healthy ego.

00:02:27
Speaker 1: Well, I will say as we start to recap this particular episode, is it really did show you that the last standing entertainment value was Candace? And we all said episode one that Candace was the star of the season, even when we had Portie, Lisa, Rna. You know, you you've had other people where you were like, listen as much shit as you and I talk about what's his name?

00:02:59
Speaker 2: No, the oh, what's his name?

00:03:01
Speaker 3: Wait? Who? Because we didn't talked about a few of them motherfuckers. So whoot report. Oh oh see, I have I blacked him out. I forgot about.

00:03:11
Speaker 1: That, and that wasn't me trying to be funny. I completely forgot about him.

00:03:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, me too.

00:03:17
Speaker 2: But at least it was something to watch, you know.

00:03:21
Speaker 3: Yeah he did give us something to work with. Yees. Yeah, yeah, it's funny too, Carlos. Because on a show like Traders, where you have to fly under the radar and be unassuming, right, it's got to be difficult to infuse parts of your personality in a way that will garner and generate interest from the audience, right, you got to figure that out as talent. People think it's just simple, you know, to be a celebrity or to be cast on one of these shows, but it's not. There's an ask here, right, especially on the Traders. You have to be unassuming, but also you got to find a way to infuse your personality and make yourself interesting on this show. So hats off to the motherfuckers like Candice and Tiffany and people whose person and Derinda, people whose personality shine through you know what I'm saying, even though they had the job to do. I think it's a testament too. Yes, their fitness on a show like this, you know.

00:04:18
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I could not agree more on This episode was evident of that.

00:04:22
Speaker 4: So it kicks off with Rob telling.

00:04:26
Speaker 1: Eric that you know, he is going well number one, revealing that he's the trader, and you know, Eric had a great reaction because it was a gag, not for the audience because we already knew, but for Eric due to the fact that Rob has played all of them, you know, So his big reaction some mu solidified what we all know was the fact that Rob got these motherfuckers fooled.

00:04:55
Speaker 2: And as you and I love.

00:04:57
Speaker 1: The art of this game, we will get Rob his props in that regard he's playing.

00:05:03
Speaker 2: He's playing a good game.

00:05:05
Speaker 3: Just because he outsmarted someone that I wanted to win the show does not negate the fact that he outsmarted someone I wanted to win the show. Rob is playing the hell out of this game. It is what it is. And when you look at what's going on on that screen through the lens of just watching a game being played, and you take your favorites and your emotions out of it, he's knocking it out the park Man. They don't get no better man. Rob is literally playing an incredible game on this show.

00:05:32
Speaker 2: He really really is.

00:05:34
Speaker 1: Were you surprised when Eric decided to join him in his treachery versus being murdered?

00:05:43
Speaker 3: Not at all, because I think Eric thinks Rob is cute, So I wasn't surprised that I think he is enamored with him in a way that will lend itself to him conceding or agreeing or going along to get along, you know what I'm saying. I think that's what that was. So I wasn't surprised at all, especially when Rob started adjusting Eric's hood on his his trader's cape and all that other stuff, and tell him you look straightened up your finger, you look. I was like, oh, okay, I see what's going on here, And I'm not mad. Little manipulation, you know, never hurt nobody.

00:06:25
Speaker 1: The thing for me is Rob is playing up his looks when it comes to the gays and the girls, and it's working, and it's so masterful to me because.

00:06:39
Speaker 2: Listen, I'm not hating on it. I called it gay for play. You know.

00:06:43
Speaker 1: Rob is definitely flirting with the with the gay boys. He did it with Colton, He's doing it with Eric and is working for his advantage. Eric's response of like, yes, I will serve you. I can't serve you when we are sent home in the way that I would like to. But but master, oh, master, masterfold piece. Man, you are the masterpiece. I will serve you in this game in this way if that means I get to be close with you in a dungeon.

00:07:16
Speaker 3: Mm hmmm, mm hmmm. Yeah, that's what it was. You know what I'm saying. Eric, Literally he got to that turret and he put his arms around that damn thing like this. He said, I so what we're gonna do next? Rob? Okay, That's what it was. That was the energy and I you know, hey, it shout out to Rob. You got to use what you can't what what did.

00:07:37
Speaker 4: Use what you got to get what you want?

00:07:39
Speaker 3: And what did Mariah Carey say when she was at that that performance next to the DJ. I'm gonna do the best I can what I got. That's exactly what Robs. That was his mantra, his rashanale. That was that was what he used to propel himself forward in this game. He used he is using, okay, in real time what he had to get what he wants. You know what I'm saying, and I, hey, did show for it? We were watching a better show for it. It was boring this week because all of the fund's gone, but we still want to know what happens, and so we're going to see it through. And while we're seeing it through, what we're seeing is Rob have excellent gameplay, for sure.

00:08:20
Speaker 1: One of the things that I thought about immediately, and I wondering if it crossed your mind, because again, if I'm here to play the game, and yes, I'm surprised that Rob is a trader, I would immediately be like, wait a second, hold on, Rob voted for Lisa.

00:08:42
Speaker 2: And Candace.

00:08:46
Speaker 1: Okay, why would I even trust him? And that to me is where you know Ari's googly eyes is then really focused on wasn't in front of him? Which is this man cannot be trusted.

00:09:05
Speaker 2: He went and gets me.

00:09:06
Speaker 1: On like he voted off the other two traders. What makes you think you're safe? And Eric has not even come to that conclusion, and I just thought to myself, it's obvious Rob may take this all the way home. Because even something so obvious, Eric doesn't even see yet.

00:09:25
Speaker 3: Mm hm, he don't see it because he's too busy Rob makes Eric's ears hard and so you know what I'm saying, he gave him. He gave him an ear hard on, you know what I'm saying. So he can't he just can't see past it, you know what I'm saying. He's blinded by the light like that that Rocks blinded by the light. He's blinded by the light of Rob Man. He cannot see beyond that, so much so that he was willing to even switch it up. I'm going to be a faithful to the end this game. Maybe I can be a trader's like Eric. Okay, okay, but it's good and listen you at the end of the day, again, he cannot hate on the fact that Rob is playing the hell out of this game. He had a job to do and he's getting in there and doing it. And even though you know, some of our faves got caught in the wake of that, we cannot omit or or erase the fact that he is playing the fuck out of this game. He is, and you can't hate on that he's doing his job.

00:10:25
Speaker 2: No, he really is.

00:10:27
Speaker 4: They decided to kill off the Dirnda.

00:10:30
Speaker 1: I didn't understand that decision in terms of nobody suspected Direnda. To me, it was a throwaway sweat up like a murderer in the middle of the night.

00:10:43
Speaker 3: Why do you think they decided to offer her because it was I feel like it wasn't It wasn't gonna trace back to anyone. Derinda was a miscellaneous, like you said, a throwaway murder, throwaway vogue. We love Derenda, we love seeing her have her second roll, go at being on the traders and lasts a little longer, you know what I'm saying. But Derinda wasn't really and maybe this is maybe she was playing a great game, but Derenda wasn't really moving the needle either way. Denda was coasting and so to me by her not kind of leading the charge with anything and just kind of like going along to get along. She just it was a tempid gameplay from her, and I think that that just resulted in it's your time, you know what I'm saying, It's her time to go, because it just was.

00:11:32
Speaker 1: Rob is so comfortable Dustin that when this motherfucker was in his cropped sweater vest lay out on the couch like these, he is truly owning the joint. But meanwhile, you have Kristen and I know she's one of our favorites. Who told terror to her face how she thinks it's her and she said.

00:12:00
Speaker 3: So off. She's so completely off. I was watching her like girl until she was on. She was off until she was on. But the problem was she was talking to the devil. You know what I'm saying. I think I know who the devil is and you're talking to Satan, so like, what are you? You know what I'm saying. It was a little higher. She was so far off. They were so far off it was crazy to watch.

00:12:25
Speaker 1: What did you think though of Johnny and Tara's gameplay, because in the beginning of the season, they both said, we are not going to let people know her best friends and they are best best, best best friends, and for the past couple of weeks they've done a good job at hiding their friendship.

00:12:46
Speaker 2: Do you think it was a smart move for.

00:12:49
Speaker 1: Them to finally reveal that, look, we are best friends because everybody believes that Johnny is a trader due how close he and Candace.

00:13:03
Speaker 3: Were before you got I think it was smart. I think that it kind of shook things up. I think that nobody really knew what was going on. They were kind of stunned by the revelation that they actually are best friends and love each other and are close and are playing the game together. I think that was a surprise to most people, and I personally loved it. I think that it shook things up at that round table, and you see the vote went a different way, you know what I'm saying. Like, once once the conversations began, and once him, Johnny and Tara kind of really just bum rushed to the round table like that. I loved it. I thought it was great.

00:13:45
Speaker 1: This is reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King.

00:13:48
Speaker 2: Let's get back into the show. And the thing for me when.

00:13:53
Speaker 1: It comes to Tara and Johnny, I'm curious in terms of as we saw them at the round table, Tara spoke first. And one thing that our Detroit says, Tiffany told us last week, Dustin.

00:14:09
Speaker 2: Yes, how they really, you know.

00:14:13
Speaker 1: The producers let the cast talk, and how nobody wants to be the first to speak.

00:14:19
Speaker 2: I thought I was.

00:14:19
Speaker 1: Smart for Tar to speak, especially because at the whole game, Rob and Eric decided to constantly throw her name in the hat in terms of the Trader's game. So her speaking first to me, I thought was another bold move in terms of whether or not they are going to survive another week, because I personally think that when it comes to Johnny Johnny, I think Johnny's days are numbered.

00:14:48
Speaker 3: I do too, but I do think that. Listen, we thought Johnny was going home this week, you know what I'm saying, and they were. He was able to rise like Stacy Rush. He was able to rise at the round table and then do what he needs to do with the help of Terror. So that to me represents us a little bit more Wherewithal, a little bit more tenacity from him that we didn't know he had. And so I don't know, Johnny might not go home next week, you know what I'm saying, Like, we never know what will happen from one roundtable to the next. So I after things shifted him at that roundtable and Steven ended up going home, I really feel like Johnny and Terror may be a little bit stronger than we realized as a coupling, as a group playing this game, as a duo of faithfuls, they may be a little bit stronger than we realized. Because he survived a roundtable when he was really up for elimination.

00:15:44
Speaker 1: So do you think those two can like be a powerful duo to like really take this shit home.

00:15:53
Speaker 3: Hell yeah, if they play their cards right. The only thing is, excuse me, Rob has that dagger, so which is two votes? Remember, and it's two of them. Excuse me, Rob has that side.

00:16:11
Speaker 2: Baby, not.

00:16:14
Speaker 3: Rob has that dagger, you know what I'm saying.

00:16:18
Speaker 2: Because daggers and the other word kind of rhys go.

00:16:20
Speaker 3: Ahead, So you know, so there's two of them. Rob has that dagger, so he has two more votes. So it'll just be interesting to see how this plays out. But I do believe that I think that Johnny and Terry, if they play their cards right like they did in this episode, right because Johnny ended up surviving, which is really the ultimate goal here, right, is to continue in the game. And if they were able to do that this week, I think they'll be able to do that at the next couple round tables. So it'll be interesting to see how far they go.

00:16:55
Speaker 1: What did you think though about Natalie revealing softly the that Rob has the daggers, So that pot was confused because I didn't know if she whispered did and only a you know, maybe Rob heard her or did everybody at the round table hear her?

00:17:20
Speaker 3: I heard her. I feel like everybody that was available to hear her should have been listening. Okay. So I don't know the answer to that question, but I heard it, okay, and I feel like I don't know. I just to me, I put it like this, if I were a trader, Natalie and Kristen would be on the first thing smoking. They'd be on the midnight train to wherever they're from. You know what I'm saying That they would have been gone. They are on the trail. Kristin is definitely on the hunt. She can smell the traders. I think it is not too far behind, even though she's completely off. That only takes one conversation right to redirect her, and once she Natalie is the type of player that if she's given any sort of hint as to the right path to take, she will not stop until they mow them traders down. So all they got to do is just point Natalie in the right direction, and her and Kristen could really take them two traders out. So it'll be interesting to see. That's all I know. Even though our players of excitement are no longer there, the possibilities of the way that this thing could go moving forward, make it exciting enough to continue watching and see what's going to happen.

00:18:40
Speaker 1: The biggest thing on social media was the question and I would love to get your thoughts on it, because you're the expert and the trader. This is my first season watching, but a lot of people raise the same question, and I was like, good question was the fact that if this was any other season and a trader i e.

00:19:01
Speaker 2: Candas did a.

00:19:03
Speaker 1: Throwaway vote then tried to get someone out, which is Rob. Do you think that alone should have provided suspicion to the other faithfuls that if this trader was gone, could she be trying to get rid of somebody else?

00:19:24
Speaker 2: Because when they flashed.

00:19:25
Speaker 1: Back the moment Candace had her one of the up with Steven and she told Derendam to Johnna to get away. No one really clocked that Rob, which is Stephen, who dufest?

00:19:41
Speaker 3: Rob told me Carlo one damn job.

00:19:46
Speaker 1: The fact that he told Stephen, hey, can you go? I want to talk to candas Stephen alone should have been like wait a second. Rob told me to remove myself from kandas Canda was already giving me tea that Robbed could be it Canvas votes for rob again. She gets sit home and that that didn't clock click.

00:20:08
Speaker 3: All you have to do backwards? No, it's not normal because literally we all were watching that screen doing like Beyonce did in that Girl video. Remember when she was like watching that screen, Like what the you don't put that together? Like what are you? Of course, all you have to do, right, Carlos, All you have to do.

00:20:31
Speaker 2: You cannot lie.

00:20:34
Speaker 3: All you got to do is put it together and work backwards. If you literally start thinking backwards from whatever just happened, and you start putting the pieces together of what happened previously, you'll put it together. So I don't know, it would have clicked for me and it clicked for you, Carlos. I don't know, but it would have clicked for you. It would have clicked for me, but it didn't click for the Okay, So.

00:21:03
Speaker 1: The biggest bomb in this episode was when Kristen clocked Eric. Now, now, Dustin, I did not see this moment coming. Kristen tells Eric, you were really quiet in the roundtable, and that's unlike you. You're normally more vocal, You normally have a lot to say. You even use canvas word about a throwaway. Eric is the most horrible choice of a trader. But before I get to your theory as to why Rob chose him, because there's another theory the audience is having.

00:21:44
Speaker 4: What did you make of Christen clocking Eric?

00:21:47
Speaker 2: Because I truly did not.

00:21:49
Speaker 3: See that coming. I don't think anybody saw it coming either, Carlos, because it happened in real time, like Kristen was expressing herself, her the cadence of her speech to reflect that, the fact that her thoughts were running in real time while she was speaking, and she literally just was like, I mean, you didn't take you got to do something like you didn't like she was thinking and putting the pieces together in the moment, And so listen, all Eric did was do he He pulled his same old, same on. And mind you, he was a faithful before. So now that he's doing the same thing as a trader that he did when he was a faithful it's comical to me because as soon as she started putting the heat on his ass, what did he do? You know what I'm saying? It was that same shit, But now it looks faker to us, more fake because we know he's lying, and so I don't think that Eric was a good choice to bring in as a trader. We're gonna see what happens, but I don't think he was a good choice. I think, if anything, that he'll just be eliminated faster.

00:22:54
Speaker 1: Do you think Rob chose Eric because ultimately he will set him up the way he did Candace and Lisa.

00:23:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, but the difference is that Candice and Lisa both were actively working to assist the traders in getting to the end. Eric is just trying to survive. He was he was. He into the game as a faithful even though he is a a person who we know can play dirty, right, we know he can play dirty, but he's not good at it, and that's the difference. And so I don't think that he'll have a very long Although we only have a few episodes left, it's not a whole lot of time left in the game. I think I foresee Eric getting the fuck up out of here. I do, I do. I don't think he'll make it. I think if Rob wins this thing as a trader, he's gonna go all the way to the end by himself. M hm.

00:23:52
Speaker 2: He is given sit home next week.

00:23:54
Speaker 3: Probably Eric has shit to be the way Rib be rolling. You know what I'm saying like that, you know who knows? Probably Eric. That's what I think.

00:24:03
Speaker 1: I see Eric too, And and the thing that that that I do see is I think because Kristen stands on business and we saw how she did it with Terra, I think she I think the difference is she's she's so familiar with Eric that she now really has her eyes set on him. And one thing we know Rob is capable of doing if he gets too much on them, he is going to throw Eric under the bus any chance he gets. And like you said earlier, he still has the power of a dagger that he's not going to use until.

00:24:47
Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yes, yes, So it'll be interesting they all Rob again. I can't stress it enough. I know I sound like a broken record, but Rob is playing the game well. He's setting him self up for security, he's setting himself up for the win. And although I didn't want it to be him that one. I can't be mad at a smart play, a smart you know, gameplay. I can't be mad at that. And that's exactly what he's doing. Eric is a temporary tool, a temporary minion of Rob's masterful plan to win this game. So I don't know me personally, I don't I don't know. If I would have accepted Rob's invitation to be a trader.

00:25:31
Speaker 4: You would have been you would have said, murdered me.

00:25:34
Speaker 3: I think so, why because because after I would have seen that he was a trader in that moment, I would have just put everything together. And after I would have seen that he was a trader, I would have thought, damn, So he got the other two traders up out of here. He's playing for himself, Like I already know that. It's this late in the game. You know what I'm saying, It's not really enough time for me to kind of work around him. I don't know. I might just went home.

00:25:59
Speaker 2: That's interesting because of that, I.

00:26:01
Speaker 3: Feel like he would have went home anyway, right, It was like go home now, or you wait for Rob to play you and get sent home. Right, So play him first and go home.

00:26:11
Speaker 1: Well, And to your point, the thing is this, if Eric had an and he doesn't like Eric, Eric doesn't have any leadership quality.

00:26:18
Speaker 4: He's always wrong and he blends in.

00:26:21
Speaker 1: I think to your point, if your decision of joining his treachery was not to take him out.

00:26:27
Speaker 2: You should have just murdered me.

00:26:29
Speaker 3: Right, because he gonna murder you anyway? Yes, yes, yeah, yes.

00:26:35
Speaker 2: How many more episodes? Okay, so this was episode eight?

00:26:39
Speaker 1: You know, how many more episodes do we have until we see the reunion? Because we don't have our stars anymore? The interesting people have left the building high canvas? So is it normally ten episodes?

00:26:54
Speaker 3: I think eleven? I think I think it's not. You know, I don't remember seether ten or eleven. I can't remember. But the reunion is coming up, and the day that the in previous seasons, the day that the last episode is released, the reunion episode comes out that same day as well, so we won't have to wait. Oh really, yeah, it's usually like the finale and reunion are released together. Is usually yeah, just one episode?

00:27:22
Speaker 1: Okay, mm hmmm, and rain dropped, Just so y'all know they taped the reunion yesterday. We don't know what happened, and I don't want to know what happened, but I think we're all waiting for the showdown between Candace and Rob at the reunion.

00:27:44
Speaker 3: I hope Candas and Tiffany cuts everybody the fuck out. I hope they body shame people. I hope they. I hope they. I hope they go on that show. Now I'm just playing, but I hope they go on that show. On that reunion. It set it on fire because those women have something to say. You know what I mean that I don't I think that after watching this season and seeing some of the other methods that the players have used to advance themselves exposed, I think that we will be in for a great reunion. Yes, you know, with those women armed with that information. And so I can't wait. I cannot wait. And again, I just really want some good I want to watch that screen. You remember that lady. There was some protests in Washington, d C. A few years ago, and there was a lady who had on a mink coat and she was holding a glass of champagne and she was standing on the porch watching the protests going, and she was smiling. You don't remember that, phone, I'm gonna show you, but that is what that is. How I plan on watching this reunion, right, I plan on watching Candice Customer ass cuts the ass out, Tiffany cuts them out, and I'm having me a glass of something to be sitting back smiling like you know, that's what I'm rooting for. That's what I can't wait for.

00:29:07
Speaker 2: Yes, you gotta be Oh Google, it was just looking for this.

00:29:11
Speaker 3: Look. It's a it's a white lady on a porch. I think this was during the b l M protest too, and that made it even sweeter. She's wearing a mink coat and she's holding a glass of champagne, smiling as a protest, watching it from her porch. And that is the big mood for this You remember that picture.

00:29:35
Speaker 2: I do remember this.

00:29:37
Speaker 3: You remember that ship, don't you? Yes, that's the that is the move for the Traders reunion.

00:29:44
Speaker 1: Yes, And just so y'all know, this is Abaka Trump's neighbor who is joyfully watching protests while sipping her wine.

00:29:53
Speaker 2: In a perk.

00:29:55
