Pokemon. Oh baby, good bless you on, thank you, it's actually a cough. We are live. Welcome on. In today's episode is episode sixty four. We are getting very close to a nice number, and I'm excited. We have a big things planned for that episode. I like sixty four is nice and we're gonna be talking about sixty four games. M Yep, yep, we are, we are, we are, Oh, we are actually that really lined up? Wow. We have a lot of things on the dock today. Uh, starting with if you've read the title, are we still Pokemon Fans? Which might seem like a facetious, possibly even click baity title, but it's something that Bob and I are actually we want to talk about it, Yeah, because I don't. I don't know. I'm going to get into it, but I don't know if I am anymore. I'm definitely not. I'm not gonna be, but it's not I'm not. And that's not like there's no shade. There will be shade. But I honestly don't think I'm a Pokemon fan at this point in twenty twenty three. I think I have nostalgia. But we'll talk about that as well as some other really cool things like some games come into the Switch that you didn't expect, and even some Tears of the Kingdom news, which it looks like we're starting to get some early peaks at what they're planning for the DC. Oh oh is that what that's about? And also we're live again. We're live. We're live, and we're not together. We're live. Yeah, tomorrow, tomorrow we can touch, we can touch. I'm gonna get up early tomorrow and drive straight to your house and get right into your bed and snuggle. Okay that last part wasn't agreed upon, but wow, it goes without saying, I really see you, Happy to see you, all right, okay, okay, well then here yea, Bob, this justin we change shuts. Oh yeah, yeah, it was quite the skill Oh and where do I learn skills like that? I'll share it with you at the skill shad were skill Show. Hey, before I even tell you why skill share is great, you'll want to click that link below because the first one thousand people to use that link will get one month free a trial of skill Ship. Now let me tell you why you even want to do that, Bob, because you might know skill schef of classes in photography, film and video editing an illustration. But did you know that skill sha has hundreds of career focused classes too. No, tell tell me about every career focused class that I can do on skill Share. Well, I haven't done one because I actually use a very different your career. It's making videos. I forget this is my job. You're right, Actually it's a real job. Mom. What I think of when I think of career I think of some of the more career focused classes that Scotia has. But you're right. I use Jordy's classes for video editing and premier and after effects for my career, and just sometimes I forget that playing games is my career. Jordy is fantastic. He breaks things down so easily to understand. But also the things he teaches you are very practical, so he'll also show you, Like there's one thing he taught me how to like set my finger on fire, and he like shows you in the video and then you're like, oh, I want to do that and you can do it in like ten minutes. And then you learn a skill yeah for your career, which is making videos like this, Wow amazing. Oh that's my Susama. Remember are going to learn Japanese. Yeah, of course. Remember when I did that, we were con Bonwa. We were just talking about how we're very bad at Japanese particles. Look at what we found how to use No, one of the most important Japanese particles. I actually only just learned what the Japanese particle was today. What is what is? You've done this, you've learned, You've learned from this guy? What is no? No is the possessive watashi no cont this is my drawer was told in therapy it was bad to be possessive, but no is all about it. M absolutely okay, Well now we know, Thank you so much. What class was that is matsu Sama teaching Japanese. Being your own boss comes with hurdles to navigate was Skosha's extensive class library. You can learn freelance tips, start a new side project, to attract the right clients, or even start a business. So we started a business, we did. I actually I saw one on the for like T shirt creation, like logo design and then printing, and then like a whole course on how to get that up and running once, which was interesting. There's everything they have everything, even learning Japanese which I didn't know they had until you told me, and then I told you, no, they don't, and then I was wrong, and then you said no, they don't, and then you learn no, they do have a course on no. I learned a lot about saying no. You learn a lot about saying no. It's okay to say no. No means no, No means no, even if you're not ready to launch a YouTube channel. Skill share believes that no goal is too small. Maybe you want to learn productivity tips to power more me time, or maybe the goal is to start building a personal brand style. Whatever your career goes, our skill share has the classes to help you along the way. And look right under my face, there's a little thing here that says the first one thousand people to use the link will get a one month three trial of skill share. It's free. You can learn as much as you want in that time, cram your brain field, and then let us know when what you learned down below back to current US. Yeah, and wearing much nicer close shuts. Look at watashi no T shirt, T shirt, T shot suit? Is that it? That's it? There you go. It sounds a little sounds a little wrong, It does I think I'm wearing the same shirt. Yeah, I the illusion, but I am wearing a really cool Uh. It's my favorite Zelda Splatoon show that I bought. I'm trying to get as much use out of it as I can. Is a cool shirt? Also, don't really, but it's a really cool shot. Uh. How are you a bold black? Kind of just black through the topics? Yeah, we're good, dude. We only jumped on cool like five minutes before we went live, so I didn't why why is and why is that? Uh? Because because of him who demanded that we went to Duncan at twelve thirty. We both wanted to go. I was you sent me a pit? I was like, all right, hello, and you were sent me you were at the drive through. So you know what I did. I figured out how to make an Android phone and a little viewing monitor for a camera. So I was fussing around with that, having a good time with myself. So that was you did that in ten minutes because I wasn't done that. Yeah, I was trying it out that it was pretty cool. That Chrome cancing it to the TV was sick. Now you judged me for being at Duncan and now I know that's because of the coffee, because the coffee is not good. But let me tell you, the Duncan's breakfast is by far the best fast food breakfast in America. No, because listen, because it's twenty four hours. You can get it anytime a day. Sure, and there's around us. There's three places that that does that. There's Duncan, Starbucks, and Sonic Sonic Sonics breakfast is good, but it's like you're all you really have is big burritos filled with like potato, bacon and crazy cheese. It's good, like hangover food, but like you need to be in the mood for that. Starbucks has like little sandwiches that cost ten dollars and they kind of dry. But Duncan they've got avocado, toast, egg bites, hash browns, breakfast tacos, they got everything. Yeah, but you know, jack of all trades, master of none, it's not it's not. They're not all good. What's a better breakfast fast food breakst So yeah, I mean breakfast burritos, but the burritos sick good. Best slape's crap after I eat one, but oh absolute, we'll eat half of it thrown on the freezer the next day. I challenge you to eat a whole one. Every time we do the podcast at the studio. On the way there, me and Hannah will stop off and get Duncan breakfast because it's quite easy, because it's good right there. No, it's every single time what you get. I get a I get a bagel, a plane bagel with egg and cheese on it, and it's the bagel is rubber. Well, yeah, every single time, and I just I just take it. I just take it because it's convenient. Yeah. I mean, you're getting a bagel from a fast food place, and when you're used to like Brooklyn Bagels next to it, next to the great bagel places, then goam, my guy, bagel places always do Why I don't do that. We should just order for you know, because then you know, I think it's just that the Duncan you just get and you go. You should order ahead for everyone and then bring breakfast to the studio. It takes me an hour to get there. It's gonna be crappy by then. But also I get everybody coffee. I go all the way, I get the Duncan, and then I don't get any coffee, and I get the coffee in Brooklyn, and I stop off and get the coffee and then I bring it to the studio because that's a good uh No. They sometimes have like little muffins, but it's not that type of It's not that it's a little muffin. It's a gamble if they have it. Are we talking about Pokemon? Yeah? I was gonna ask, did you want to stop with the Pokemon stuff? It's most let's go back to I want to talk about this viewing monitor I made from like camera, you could just use a phone. The anamorphic squeeze. It's hard for me to find it, the good anamorphic squeeze. I'm waiting for you to cut me off. I was just about too. I wouldn't let that go any longer. I didn't want to interrupt and be that guy, but I wasn't gonna let it continue. Okay, the Pokemon Presents, that's gonna be a ballk of today's episode because we just had it. Look, it's half an hour long, so there's things to talk about. But I don't know about you. Look at the cute, but I don't care any of it. Yeah, so we knew this was gonna happen, and it was scheduled for what nine in the morning, and I forgot about it because I ain't No, I'm getting up for that Pokemon Presents at this point, I believe it has a track history of not being good and being really early in the morning, and every time I've just not woken up for it. I've been very thankful. The last one was bad. The last one is the same as this one. It's yeah, the same mobile games, some doc for Unite. I look at the upcoming doc or whatever for the new Pokemon Scolet and Violet, and then so I look at like the anime and then you're out. It's the same thing every single time. We we knew about everything that was going to be in this. There's none of this is new information except for me my shows. I guess. Yeah, I was gonna say, I think there's some new shows. But is it okay if I play the trailers are gone? I yeah, because no, because the last time just keep stopping and starting every now and then. The last time. The only time we've been dinged is by that random YouTuber who did finally drop the claims, But we've never actually been dinged for any actual company. I will say this trailer looks a lot better than the last trailer and the last UH Presents, because that one had like vast nothingness and the world looked lifeless and boring. This one has like stuff in it. Yes, stuff, That's the most I can say about it. Yeah, I wasn't. I'm honestly I don't care. I have no interest in going back to Scolet and Violet. I don't. I don't. Yeah, I'm absolutely out on the Sword and Shield. I of it. I got every Pokemon and then the DC came out, and then I felt obligated to play it. And honestly, I liked the DC for those games a lot more because it was all open areas, open wild areas, and I was like, oh, this is cool. This is more of what I liked from Scolet and Violet. But this time it's just more of the same of what we just had. I didn't really like what we had. I don't feel like dealing with little the technical issues. I'm bored of that world. I don't need to go back to it. Like I would say, the DC for that game is the most exciting thing about this Presents, and I just don't. I don't care. It should be the big deal. People have been waiting for news about this. But yeah, the game, I was not It's just not a it's core. It's a bad game. I would rather have I would rather have that not been a look at the DC and instead of look at how game freak fixing the game. Yeah, and how they're updating it and getting rid of a lot of the issues. Yeah, for sure. I've also played Sword and Shield and I liked Sword and Ide undred percent. But I beat the game, which is a lot for somebody like me to say. I don't know the last time I beat a game. But I got through the whole thing and I was like, I like that. I was fun. And then I played the DLC and I was like this is not fun. This seems kind of boring. And then I was like wait, yes, and I was like, wait, this feels like kind of what the base game felt like. Why do I hate Oh wait, you know what, Maybe I didn't like Sword and Shields. Maybe I just felt like, maybe I felt like I should have liked it, So I just told myself that I liked it. I played Scarlet and Violet and I was like, no, I definitely don't like Pokemon anymore. And also Diamond and Pearl. Playing Diamond and Pearl, I was like, Man, I think I'm just not into this anymore. Yeah, there's a bigger conversation here we can get into. But that's the thing with Scarlet and Violet, And when I made a video pointing out all its flaws, I tried so hard to get people to remove themselves from Pokemon because it's so it's so seemingly impossible for people to do. If you take Scarlet and Violet and you and you imagine you know nothing about Pokemon, like Pokemon's never existed. This is the first time there's ever a Pokemon game. You have no nostalgic attachment to it, Are you really going at bat for that game? Like, with how many technical issues there are, we have so many other Pokemon clone games that run better, look better, do better. If you have no nostalgia for any of them, you'd be like, oh, this is another month to catching one. But man, the shane that it's just so technically bad and kind of boring in the story sucks. Yeah, you know, but it's just it's the nostalgia. People are so gripped to the nostalgia. You know, when when Scarland Violet came out, I remember I made my big list of stuff that I liked and didn't like about the game. They did fix a lot of things that I had issues with with Pokemon, but it just wasn't enough. They added a lot more problems. There were actual technical problems, but also there's just a bunch of stuff that could take Pokemon and bring it into a more modern era. Why do we have to navigate these menus in such like an archaic way. The whole game is played through menus, and it's a pain in the ass to do anything in the game. I agree. And as fun as go into an open world format was, there was nothing to actually do in the world. And again it was just the nostalgia of catching Pokemon, that's all it was. Yeah, and why can't we have that with a game that is feels good to play for it? It feels good to hit all the mechanics, that feels good. They hit a open world MMO fan game, Pokemon games being made for the last twenty years that does the same thing that Scarlet and Violet try to do, and then end a Pokemon company have shut them all down and they finally did their own, and we may as well have kept the fan ones. One of the biggest games right now is a turn based game, Boulders Get. It's one of the biggest games right now, and it's turn based and it looks like the future when when I'm seeing people play it, it's but it's core. You hit a button and you roll a dice. But there's so much cool shit going on outside of that. But this game just feels like I'm playing a Game Boy game. Still. I've said for a while, imagine if any other company made a Pokemon game full freak. I made this point in my review. Please game Freak, give the keys to someone else to develop it, and you just oversee it. I'm fine with Pokemon Company themselves having final say in what the game is, how the game has played, what the story is, what the new Pokemon look like, all of that. Just give it to a company that knows how to develop games for the Switch, or just knows how to develop games in general, so we get something more fun. Just not whoever made Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, don't give it a though. I don't know if they've even made anything since that. Someone else. The idea for this video though, and this title and are we still Pokemon fans? It actually came from the fact that I woke up and we're going to go through the whole presents in a second. But I woke up, I skimmed through the presents. I saw it was half an hour of nothing, and I tweeted I just woke up. I forgot about the Pokemon presents, and apparently so did the Pokemon company. Kind of just like a funny tweet about like nothing was there. And one of the first comments that came in one of the first replies was how to spot the non Pokemon fan as in like me, as in look at this guy, the non Pokemon fan. And the funny thing is, I've gotten these tweets before. I got them on my Pokemon review. I've gotten them when I've tweeted about the presents before, where someone's like how to spot the non fan? This is a generic tweet that I get a lot, and usually I get really defensive about it. I don't reply, but in my head, I'm like, God, you just don't know me at all. I'm I'm a big I'm the biggest Pokemon fan. I love Pokemon. I'm a Nintendo guy. I love Pokemon. This is the first time that I saw that tweet that reply. In my head, I got really defensive for like a second, and then I thought, No, maybe I'm not. Actually, maybe I'm not. Maybe I am the problem because if this is Pokemon in twenty twenty three, if this presents is supposed to get me excited, if I'm supposed to be excited about DLC for Unite or a mobile game, you know, these new animes which I really don't care about. If there is ninety percent more Pokemon things happening that I do not like, do not want, do not care about, I've aged out of, or it looks boring, and there's like a ten percent level of Pokemon I'm actually interested in. Am I actually a fan? And in oh seriousness, I don't think I am. I think I have nostalgia for Pokemon of old I'm a huge fan of old school Pokemon games. But am I a fan of Pokemon in twenty twenty three? I honestly think I'm ready to say no, I am not. It sounds like our whole conversation about Star Wars that we had the other day. Yeah, I guess. Yeah, watching it all the new stuff, I'm like, I don't know anymore. I don't know this is for me anymore. I mean, yeah, I grew up with Pokemon. I loved it for I mean in the nineties, and then I fell off of it, and then I came back to it and I liked it again. And I was remember everybody defending the garbage looking trees in Scarlet but no, and yes made I made literally a video just about the trees essentially, and people would dog piling on me because the tree look fine. And then you had to apologize, you know, you apologize video. Yes, I remember, because I was like, why is he apologizing? So it was a fake apology. It wasn't I apologize. I was one of the guys defending the trees because I was like, it's Pokemon. Who cares what it looks like. It'll be fine, it'll be fun. Everybody just cares about capturing cute Pokemon, so as long as you're capturing que Pokemon, the game will be good. So I was playing the game being like, yeah, it's fun even though the game's ugly. I'm captured que Pokemon, so it's funny. Yeah, And then it turns out it wasn't. I was just Copium the whole time, and I just gave up on that. Right after that, when the DLC for that game hit, I was like, I can't bear to like this anymore. And then Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl came out and I was like, I just don't like this anymore. I just can't sit through a game like this anymore. And then Scarlet and Violet just put the last nail on the coffin. Yeah. I mean, I'm not even I didn't even I was about to say that. I do think out of the recent years, Okius is the only Pokemon game that I've truly, truly passionately enjoyed. And I know that you're different on it, and that's fine. It's a very different kind of game. It's very Monster Huna style, and I don't know even know if you're a Monster Hauna fan. Really I what? So that's Monster Hunter is a game that I hate when I'm playing it, But then when I'm done playing it, I keep thinking about it and I keep wanting to play it more. But then I play it and I'm like, why am I playing this? That happened with the one for the three DS. It happened with the worlds for the PS four or whatever. I just kept playing it. But I don't know why that's the that's the loop with Monster Hunter though, It's because you're trying to get stuck into it to the point where you're on a grind and once you get in the floor you'll be set. But yeah, it's constantly just trying to break into it. Yeah, but yeah, if you don't really like months to hunt Pokemon, Arcius is a very Monster Hunter light experience. But it was my first time in an open ish world being able to catch Pokemon. But it was done in a really cool way where you could actually throw the poke balls and it felt way more organic it. I would have preferred if Scarlet and Violet had a catching mechanic and battling mechanic like Arcius did. But Arcius gave me something that I've really been waiting for since I was a kid. And maybe that was also just unlocking a level of nostalgia. But I appreciated the different take, and I appreciated the way the game played, and I had a ton of fun with that game. But again, that's the ten percent, or possibly even the five percent of Pokemon media coming out these times, these this generation that I actually like and don't not only not care for, but would be totally bored if I was trying to consume. Yeah, I appreciated that they tried different things. Hello, my camera flipped out. I appreciated that they tried different things with Archias. I like that. It's good that they have an outlet with like with like an offshoot series to try new things and then maybe incorporate some of that stuff into the main games eventually. But it wasn't enough for me. They need to make hard changes to the Pokemon formula because I mean even that still had like wacky stuff going on with the menu systems. It was a little more streamline, but it was still like why do I have to press three buttons to just throw a Pokemon? Yeah, if you're looking for a more traditional Pokemon experience that evolves in a similar way to Okius, that's yeah, that's not what you've been getting. And the other thing is, even with these Pokemon games that we're getting now, even if you like the changes, they're still very they haven't grown with their audience. They haven't grown with their audiences age. They're still very very child friendly and kid friendly, which is fine. That's fine. I kind of like it in a way that kids of all of new like new kids, like young kids, young audiences, can pick up a new Pokemon game today and get that same experience, hopefully that I got the first time I picked up Fire Red. I kind of love that Pokemon is staying for kids because it is. It's not a franchise that has grown with its audience. You look at franchises like Digimon, which is I don't want to say they should do a Digimon because that's not going well, but it is trying to grow with its audience and become more mature and age up. Pokemon is not. And I love that, But I am thirty two, so it makes it hard for me to find that same joy in essentially playing what is targeted for kids. Well, when I look at something like Star Wars and I see the new movies, I'm like, this is for kids. I don't. This is not for me. I'm out of this. I'm not the demo anymore. When I look at Pokemon, I'm like, this is just bad. Even kids deserve better than this. I think it's bad because they're catering to kids. I think they don't care because kids will buy it anyway, so they just shovel out shit that you can do. Kids deserve ten frames per second? Do kids deserve a lot of nonsense dialogue that they got a mash through? No? Yeah, let me let me reiterate. I'm not saying it's bad because it's for kids. It's bad because it has a plethora of issues. What I'm trying to say is, even at its best, even when it's working, it is located to children. It's a They're very easy games. You can kind of force your own difficulty in Scotland and Violet if you want to try progressing too far too soon, which I actually liked that, But if you do play along in the progression, the game kind of suggests it's piss easy. Scott Sword and Shield piss easy. Like these games are ridiculously easy to breeze through. You know, I thought that until I went to an area I wasn't supposed to be in, just got absolutely decimated. Because that's what I mean. When this game's easy, who gives a shit You're telling me I'm not supposed to go to this area. I'm fucking flying to this do whatever I want, and then I got so wee. Yeah, that's what I mean. Scotland and Viler. You can force your own difficulty and that is nice. Do you want to actually go through the Pokemon Presents, which is mentioned Faunsen who gave us ten bucks and said, graphics never mattered in a Pokemon game. It was all about poke as I guess, Pokemon and gameplay until Scarland. The performance ruins my experience. I managed to complete the game, but I never go back. I don't blame you for that. I will say that. You know, Pokemon games looked awesome in the nineties. Yeah, I'd love to say I was gonna say they never mattered because they always looked good. You know. They always looked appropriate for their format and their time, Like the two D top down Pokemons always looked great for their time. They fit in with the rest of the Game Boy GBA libraries. The three DS games looked great on three DS. I mean they nailed that in between graphics of kind of three D and two D. Remember when Pokemon was moving to the Switch, everyone was like, Oh, this is gonna be the first home console Pokemon game. I wonder what it's going to look like And people were taking the three yes Pokemon games Sun and Moon and they were uprising it with the regular animations and stuff, and it actually looked pretty decent, and it was like, it's got to look better than that. And then what we got looked worse than what was upraised from the three DS. And even if you look at other three D games we did get, they all looked pretty great when they weren't made by Game Freak. You look at the GameCube games Coliseum and Gala Darkness, those look pretty great. And sixty four Pokemon Stadium still has some of the best animations in Pokemon. But also for the time, it looked great. It wasn't until game Freak themselves started making these three D open environments that they started to look terrible, just awful. And it's not even how they look, it's how they're designed. I did a whole breakdown in my review, but it's just lazy, just repeated stretched textures everywhere, unfin areas and points of the game. Like that's why the game is a spaghetti mess of just folding through the world is because it's designed awful. It looks awful. Yeah, and that's that's What it matters is when it looks bad, they're also making their lives easier by not allowing like all of the Pokemon to move on to the next games, which I don't really mind. I think that there needs to be don't happen at some Yeah, but take that work that you would have put into making the Pokemon transferred to new games and make the game good, like like fix the other ship that's in the game if you're if you're gonna reallocate resources like that baseline. The world needs to look good baseline like I would. I would take a Pokemon game with one hundred and fifty Pokemon again if the world looked amazing. I'm never one to like really care about frame rates or graphics, but this is the biggest franchise in erupts my experience. Yeah, and I'm my biggest issue. I mean, it's it's just the easiest thing to point at graphics and frame rate. It's easy to point at that and say that looks bad, that's a bad game. But my biggest issues with Pokemon are the mechanical just user experience nonsense bullshit that we have to go through every time we want to just do a move like everything should be way more streamline. That's what I liked about, Okius, it was more streamline. The back was roganic, it was, but they could have taken it a little further. Yeah, okay, what other nonsense garbage do we do? They shovel down our gullets. Let's go back to this. Let's go back to the presents and scroll down so people that haven't seen I can see what we're talking about. So the scolet of all the doc was right at the end. By the way, this is backwards, then, I think they just went by order of cool. I guess whatever you consider cool. I replaced the article that was here with this polyg an article because probably gone haw YouTube videos and the other one was I g and they as I don't care that it's out of order. Yeah. So Mew and Mutuo are getting a big push right now, right because we're getting them in Scarlet and Violet in raids, I think, or you can just redeem Amu. So yeah, so I was just I just spent a long time shipping all over Scarlet and Violet. I'm opening my game up to get this is nostalgia, buddy, this is this is all they have going, but because like hopefully it'll be transferable in other games too, so like this is a limited time where you're going to get them, and that's how it was back on the day. The only way to get them you was a limited time thing you had to go to like freaking funk O Land or something. And that annoys me too, the limited how long it takes to actually transfer things, Like we only got Pokemon Home Support and Scolet and Violet a month or two ago, when the game has been out for six months. I've finished it, I've completed the Pokey decks. I don't why at that point I'm not opening it back up to start transferring Pokemon. I've already finished the game. I don't. I don't know, just I wish it was a day one thing. Can I transfer my mute into Pokemon Teeth? What's name? And I give Pokemon sleep now the brushian one? Oh? Remember I remember that guy Pokemon teeth? I think I think that's definitely is it teeth. That's such a dumb name. It's Pokemon cavity. I think smile, Pokemon smile, that's cute. That's called Pokemon teeth. From now, I prefer Pokemon. I'm gonna tweet that. I'm just gonna tweet Pokemon teeth. I just tweet right now. We're not doing anything, We're not busy. Isn't Mute and Mutuo They're also coming to something else, right they are? The Mute two is coming to that game you love? Yes, I do. Actually I did enjoy Pokemon Unite when it came out, and not really, I don't haven't played in a long they don't have a video for Oh great, he's in that. And Mega Mute two is he's got a meat turns into Mega Mutwo and then it probably has a skin for Mega Mute, so I'm sure it'll be very His baseline is Mutwo and then he evolves into Mega mutic. That would actually be pretty cool. I think that's what. Yah, that's cool cool. I can't wait. Took him on Brush and Pokemon floss in chat. I love that. Uh yeah, Toga, pick at you. I'm talking about games that look awesome. Man, this game looks horrible visually. I really hope the story here is amazing. Again some semblance of of of a game here. I think I said that in my Upcoming Games video. I was excited for this just to be nice. I'm really not like I'm gonna play it, and I hope that as soon as I get started, I get stuck into it and it's really awesome. I am not excited for this game. I I didn't even play the first one because I didn't think I would like it. And Kim tried it and she said it was boring and she stopped. I remember her saying, like, it's not even a game. I'm not playing anything. I'm just listening to a story. And I was like, yeah, well, that's it's a story driven game. I hope it's good. I don't know what to say. I wanted to be like Professor Layton but Pokemon, that would be cool if it's like that. But I mean, all the clips we've seen is just people talking and like cut scene cinematic, like, have we actually seen gameplay or no? Not a lick a game play. This looks like Disney dreamlined Valley. Am I wrong? It does? No? It does. It looks bad. It just visually it looks bad. This yeah, no, this looks like it was developed nine years ago and it's the day that it was. I'm starrying to see how long this was in development. But this was announced before this announced a long time ago. Yeah, yeah, so this, I think it's safe to say that this is a three DS game. That they were like, it looks like it. Yeah, they were like, I guess we gotta put it on switch. Let's take some more time to polish it up for the switch. And then and then they didn't. I mean, got this. Go back a little bit and just look at all the backgrounds. Let's keep an eye on the backgrounds. They're so static. They're not moving. There's no atmosphere effects, there's no animations. The water in the just keep keep it gone. I swear. There's a bunch of backgrounds coming up, like some outside areas, and you can just see the water's not moving in fountains. God, how far back did you go? It's a short trailer. Hold on, hold on, let it let it cook, Let it cook, let it cook. Their names are goodman. When I said, like ten seconds, okay, it's coming, it's coming, it's coming. Just look at all the background like that tree static, that tree static. Everything in the background is completely st The water there is static, like everything is like what type of dispresso machine we're cooking with? There's just there's no there's no care, there's no animation, there's no it's just so still lamar zoco back. There literally a high res we game it like. I feel like people give Pokemon such a pass because nostalgia and people have this mentality of Pokemon doesn't have to look good, and you know what it might you know what I think it might be. We've never seen Pokemon look good. We've never seen it, so there's no bar, there's no like we've seen Pokemon look good. Why does this look so bad? We's so used to Pokemon looking bad that we just we just that it can look that way. No, you're right though, back in the end sixty four days, this looked great and they just never changed after that. We're still getting the un sixty four GameCube grap boy. It looks weak. To be fair, it looks like we we more than it looks like. It looks like it looks like god damn three DS, because that's what it was and that's what it is. I think the nicest looking Pokemon game we've probably ever had would be the new Pokemon Snap. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have. All they have in that game is just the looks and the pictures. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that any other developer made Pokemon Snap, it would have did better than that. Well, gamefor didn't make it today, I doubt they made it Pokemon Snap twenty twenty When that come out twenty twenty two, what was it called New Pokemon Snap. Who made that chat New Pokemon Snaps? I don't think it was Bankai a, Bandai Namco. Oh and oh they're they're good. Yeah, well that's why it looked. Sometimes they're good. But that's my thing with with Yeah. Sometimes that's my thing with Detective Pikachu. It's a story driven game with set pieces. There's no reason for that to not look good. Traditionally, story driven games like that are able to look insanely good because you're stuck to these set locations. It's not open world. They can really refine the details in each scene. You look at games like is it Quantum Dream that does the like, uh, yeah, god, what's it? The story driven games? I'm not trying to remember the Android one. What was the Android one called? And then the one with Ellen Page m yep. Anyway, those games looked incredible for the time, like insane graphics. Bandai Namco that we hadn't seen before, and it's because they were they were still set pieces. You know why is why a Detective Pikachu when they just got to make these still set pieces? Why are they not look insanely polished? Why do they not look at least as good as Pokemon Snap? Why is it that ingle not a Can Pokemon Bandai Namco make a better looking Pokemon game in the same vein as Detective Pikachu, then Game Freak can not a single shadow in sight. By the way, Shad, look at that porcelain doll creepy Megan two looking top left thing? Is that even a human that looks like it's going to devour my soul in the night? My sleep paralysis demon? Beyond Two Souls? Thank you? That was the game I was thinking of. Why can Bandai Namco make a better looking Pokemon game than Game Freak when that's all Game Freak has done for thirty years? So much for my morning coffee. My brother texted me and said, Detroit Become Human, Detroit Become Human? Thank you. Actually love those games and I always forget what they're called. And the other one was Beyond Two Souls. Thanks Will, Thanks Will Heavy Rain is one of my He's just sitting there, bursting at the seams. To know, I always forget that. I always go beyond good and evil. It gets stuck in my head whenever I go to say, beyond two souls, I'm like, beyond good and evil. That's not it. Yeah, Heavy Rains one of my favorite games. I put that in my top like I watched Will play that back in the day. Yeah, it's actually I love that game. It's sick. Anyway, let's let's keep going through the Pokemon Will has a hot attack. Next is Pokemon Go. A lot of shoes in this one. I actually did not watch this. I must have just completely skipped this when I saw a Pokemon Go and I like on about with this one. I like Pokemon Go, but you know it's been out five years. If you're adding new Pokemon to it, I'll find out next time I go for my evening walk. You know, I don't need a trailer for it. There's a scarland and violet Pokemon in it. Yeah, I am interested in Pokemon Go. It's fun if you're out and about and you want it. I love it. I do, I honestly love it. I hate how Predator where they are with micro transactions. In fact, Kim, we were playing the other day and someone in chat can correct me on this. There was some pass, some some seasonal pass you can buy for like like twenty thirty bucks, and she was like, why would you buy this? And she looked it up. It makes more Pokemon pop up near you, and I was like, that's literally paid a win, and like that sucks, man. So every time I play, I'm getting because you know, when the game came out, you were getting the most amount of Pokemon anyone was getting. But now I feel like, oh, how long have I been playing where I could have had more Pokemon popping up? I had. I used to play a lot, and I made it a point to never spend a time in the game, and I think I did okay, But yeah, I'd have to throw out Pokemon all the time because you run into space. I'd have to throw out items all the time because I'd run on of space. It was the Bolba pass. Yeah, I still deal with all those issues. I literally just when I got that stupid poke bowl thing, I paid two dollars to expand my Pokemon box because it was catching things so quickly. It was filling up and I just needed some extra room. So I hate that I buy something for fifty bucks. Which, by the way, that Pokemon device it's cool and handy that it can do things in the game, but we all are aware and we all realize that it's not actually doing anything that the app can't do itself if they wanted it to. I like the idea of having a device that's not my phone that's on all the time doing it. Yeah, but I would actually almost rather spend fifty dollars on the game itself to unlock a feature that does that so that I don't have to carry around a toy everywhere I go. Yeah, I mean it wasn't only when it was a giant ball. I would also rather carry around two of them all the time. I'd rather the game just do it without me having to spend fifty bucks, because you know, they can program the game to catch Pokemon on its own. It already does. It just attracts your steps. It's doing the same thing. It's recognizing where you're at. Yeah. Sorry, that's a separate rant. I don't really care about that. I'm interested in Pokemon Go. I'll give it a shot again. But it's been a while since I've taken a dive into that. I know I'm gonna open it up, gonna have a million notifications that I have to go through. Someone said Bulba Pass, and I do think that's it, But I googled Bulba Pass Pokemon Go and nothing came up. Bulba Yeah, Bulba Bulber pass. What is it that I'm talking about here? The bulber Pass? Someone said, I mean, I can just load up my phone and see. It really doesn't it really doesn't matter. But I just thought that was so silly that you can buy a pass that makes more even more Pokemon pop up. You can already buy incenses that do that, Like do they smell good? Someone just ring my front door? Me too. Next was Pokemon Path to the Peak, which I thought was a cool idea and it looks cute. It's a cool art style. It's it's a show, but it's a web series. It's a it's all available on YouTube globally. I thought this is a cool idea because it's about the trading card game. Instead of kids that are Pokemon trainers, they're they're into what do you do? What do you what? The guy that said Balpa pass SETI was joking. I had got that was it, though it sounded like it. So anyway, I was talking. Instead of being Pokemon trainers, they're just playing the card game, which I thought was a really cool idea. But it's still in the Pokemon universe and they still all have Pokemon, so that doesn't make any sense. I thought this would be really cool if it was in like this world they just were. They were really into the card game. That'd be a cool series. Cool. Yeah, I was listening. So for fifteen dollars, you get increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokemon premium in game items, exclusive ADVOTSS nine free raid passes, so I think. I think what it does is it increases your chance of finding Shiny at least this one, unless Kim found a different one. So you pay fifteen dollars and you can find Shiny Pokemon. Wow, that's so cool. Or you can pay a dollar for the Bubbly Disposition Pass, which gives you extra encounters with Frokey, so you get more chances of finding Frokey if you spend I know, that's what I'm saying. Like Pokemon Goal is getting really weird with their micro transactions and what you can pay for. Sorry, I don't have me. I'm not getting that. Sorry that the new anime thing, I really couldn't care less. It looks like, well, the next one's pal Dan wins and this one looks more like an actual anime and it looks kind of cool. Okay, that animation is pretty nice. This is for Scarlet Butt, but this is also different than the main anime. Yeah, gonna said, there are so many animes coming out for Pokemon. They're really expanding the the main universe, which is which is weird that has taken this long. M Well, they've always had like some offshoots, yeah, but this seems more like, uh like main mainline. They got rid of ash, so now they're like, we can do whatever we want. And that's a good point. Yeah, maybe that. Yeah, it's a good point. They're trying to find the next thing now. So next is the big time news? Baby would go? Baby is? Its honestly the most pot that the whole thing this is we're getting the trading card game for the game Boy actually solid, and we're getting the Pokemon Sam two mm hm pretty soon. I would think they would wait a little longer after they're already on. They're not they're outlay right now. Yeah. Uh, Pokemon Stadium two. I didn't have much experience with growing up. I only ever had one. Actually didn't even know those two until I got older. I think two is the one everybody likes. Really, Okay, it's one of them. It's one, chat one or two better because whenever anyone goes back and plays one, I always feel like you play the first one. It's got the mini games, it's got. What I understand is that they're both bad if you don't have the main game Boy games to connect to your to your console. That better if you have those. But they're not bad without them. Or isn't it just isn't it just a Mario party knockoff? No? Do you do? You not know what Pokemon Stadium is. I know, I know it's a I know it's a game you fight your Pokemon against. So the Pokemon it has, it's nothing to do with Mario partty. The only thing similar is they have little mini They got like six or seven mini games you can play with friends. Oh, I guess that one has quite a bit. But I know that when you if you don't have like a cartridge you have to like get like the CPU Pokemon, and they're like shitty and it like sucks. But well, no, well with the mini games, it's you don't use anything, you just the generic is I understand, I understand important. That's why I'm saying the only thing to do is the mini games, because without the cartridge, you're all the battles that you do are with just Pokemon that you're given, and they're not well, yeah, you're given them, but you select. You can select what level they are. You could do like fifty battles or a level one hundred battles, and then you can still do battles. The only thing you can't do, I believe, is like you can't have a different move set to whatever they come with. But that's it's still fun, it's still good. You don't you're the only extra enjoyment from importing your own Pokemon is the cool factor of like, I can't believe this is my little eight bit monster that I've had for a year or two now and I'm seeing him in three D and I have his move set that I trained him with. But it's essentially the same thing when the rental Pokemon. Yeah, the rental Pokemon when when the first game dropped on a Tenna switch online, everybody was just playing the mini games because everyone was like, I can't use the rental Pokemon. I don't know what's going on or that they're idiots. The mini games are the fun part. But now you're not losing anything by using the rental Pokemon. Okay, I don't. I don't think so personally, Okay, maybe I'm maybe I'm wacky. It's of course it's more fun if you're a kid and you've been playing Pokemon and you can take your digital little little crappy guys and put them in and see them all cool and but like that's just a a thought process, really, you know, I kind of want to try the trading card game. A lot of people liked the game Boy Trading Card Game, and it's like it's legitimately good. I liked the Trading Card Game on the iPad. I played it and I was like, this is a lot more fun than I was expecting it to be. The polke it sounds really nerdy, but playing Pokemon the card game actually as it's intended, is actually fun. It's a very unique way of playing a card game. Like if you've played Ugo Magic, any of those, Hearthstone, any of those kind of games. They all follow a similar formula but kind of have an interesting twist. Pokemon is so out there with how you play it. Whenever you start around, you and your opponent take six of your cards from your deck and put them face down to your side, and they're called prize cards. And every time you knock out an opponent's Pokemon, you get to take one of your prize cards and put it in your hand, and when you've taken all your prize cards, you win. But it's really it makes it way more interesting because you're battling to get your own cards back into your deck. So depending on what prize cards you put down, you won't have those in your deck, and they can be cards that you actually need. So knocking out a Pokemon and then picking up a prize card and being like, oh my god, finally now I get to play this is a cool extra feature. That and trying to balance energy and all of that because you need to play energy cards and then you get a chance to summon Exodia. Yeah yeah, I'm sure there's a Pokemon equivalent to Exodia. I don't know what it would be, but I'm sure there iss no. You just play okus Acus doesn't even evolve. You literally just play Ockys. But isn't he like the god one? Isn't he like? You just play him? And Matal in the chats is not having anything but rental Pokemon is literally capping the majority of the content of the game. Which what is the content? Because that's what I'm struggling with. Tell me the content that have not played it since then sixty four. I know there is on the home screen like six things you can click on, and one is usually grayed out unless you have saved data from a Game Boy game. But I don't remember what that was. What does Pot of Greed do again? Unless you draw, either discage your hand and draw like seven, or you just draw I think three additional cards from my deck, Yeah, don't you? Don't you pick one though, you pull three, and then you pick one put the other two back. I think I summoned pot Agreed, which allows me to pull three additional cards from my deck. That's what it is. I have to say it like that or also I can't remember, let me see because it's the You're right about that quote in the anime, but the actual cads at the actual cord is draw two. Also, it's not the anime, it's just some random VR YouTuber. There's there was a card put agreed got banned really quickly. I remember I used to play ugar. Oh no, you know what. The YouTuber says, three additional cards, and the other guy on the other side is going, that's not what it does. And then a random guy goes, that's what it do. Yugi polos card, there's one way you draw three and then you you take one and put one back. I can't remember put two back. I can't remember what it is though. My god, I'm looking at Yugo cards right now and the odd is throwing me back. I want to get into Yugyo so bad, just so I can roll play playing. I will say the word. I know you're kidding, but say the word. I will buy a Ugio deck and I'll play. No, you play it online. I want to actually play physical cards. I miss it, man, I have such nostalgia for playing it. Oh my god, look at this. Can you bring this up? This is actually so funny. I'll put it in discord. This card is called reload and he's got like this old pyramid looking gun, but he's reloading it like cola, dude, that's awesome. That's so stupid. That's your hand to your deck and shuffle it enjoy the same number of cards. Okay, that's a pretty good card. That's that's a professor oak, I think essentially in Pokemon all right, can we talk about how we still don't have the old original Pokemon games on a time switch online. They're like drip feeding us on ten here. Whatever they have that's not the main games. Why can't we just have the old games and allow us to use that ship in Pokemon Stadium. If you look at the cover art that they whenever they put games on the tennis switch online, it's the highest res cover art that anyone has ever seen before. They like pull it out of the archives, rescan it and put it up and it's amazing. For some reason, they left in limit edition Pokemon card inside, which is not because it's not a physical thing. And the other one says links to Gameboy game Pokemon gold, silver, yellow, blue, and red, which it doesn't yet. They could have very easily taken that out, but they didn't. They lift in it. I want to come back to that. But while we're still on the stadium thing, there's some Battle Gauntlet with Jim Leaders and there's an Elite four as well. I don't know, I only played the mini games with friends. I do kind of remember like a battle gauntlet things, right, Like was it the main game, like like the Gym Leader battles and you just can't do that stadium game mode. Let's take a look game modes. Battle now, event battle, I mean battle now. I'm going to skip because it sounds like just battling event battle, just battle between two players stadium. Oh wait, this actually says game Boy game required. Yes, okay, so game Boy game required, yes. Event battle. The event battle mode is a quick way to battle between two players. He used select a set of rules based upon the cups and stadium. Both players have to have a game Boy game plugged in into the transfer pack and controller to use the current party of their game. So that is what you can do with the rental Pokemon, but the event Battle is only with the Pokemon in your actual Gym Leaders. With the rental Pokemon Apples and Oranges GB tower you need to have the game Boy allows you to play your Gameboy game on the big screen. Okay, so that is just playing your game Boy games through Pokemon Stadium onto the screen, so you don't need the game Boy Player for that. But for n sixty four you can just use Stadium to play. And then Pokemon Lab. The Pokemon Lab takes its functions from the various modes of Pokemon. It's organizing researching. So Morton in the chat just says you can beat the game with rentals, but it is extremely difficult. Yeah. I mean, from what I'm seeing here, the only thing you can't do is go to the Pokemon Lab and research your Pokemon, which doesn't sound very fun to me. So I would say whoever said you get locked out of most of the modes might have been wrong looking. Scat says, yes, you can fight Jim Leaders, but you are underpowered. Well there you go. And then Draco in the chat says, all I want Golden Sun games. I don't play that. You can't use level one hundreds in that mode. That seems silly. I bet I could beat it. They're serious for you, it's a baby game. Last thing that we have here is uh Pokemon Cafe, Remix Unite and Master's ex Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. It's older mobile games in one of all of the Pokemon games that have come out in recent years. I know you like that. I liked Master's ex like a lot. I never played it. I played a decent amount when it first came out in the night, and then I fell off. It's like if if they it's it's like a mobile game company was that they were like, here, make a Pokemon game, and they were like, how close to a Pokemon game can we get before they get mad? How about instead of Pokemon you capture their gym leaders. I'm like, all right, fine, and it's just a Pokemon game otherwise capturing people. Yeah, you capture the people. I guess collect recruit. I don't know how way, but you get them end they're like Star Pokemon. So it's like Genshin but for kids, yes, exactly. It's it's it's pretty good in that way. And I think what makes it really good is that I think that the Pokemon formula of like the main games, lends itself really well to a mobile format because it's just menus, and why can't you just go through those menus on a touch screen? I gotta be honest, this game looks very boring and I'm very surprised you liked it. It's just a Pokemon game, just there's just trainers and stuff. But you don't like Pokemon games, So why is this one the one? Because it's streamlined, because all the options are right there. I go boop and then it's done. I don't have to go boop. You got to navigate down. Hey, ocd fascination with a game being good just when the menus are easy. It's the way it's you collect wife, wife, Who's that's what? Thank you? Can we can we not beat around the bush next time? Because you are really confusing me. I'm sorry. Every single presents we get an update for Master's ex Unite and Cafe Remix. Cafe Remix, I could give two ships. I don't know who the hell is hanging out for these updates, but they take up at least half of the Pokemon presents every single time. I mean, what else do they have? Show us the new plus use that you got coming out? Oh yeah, bring up bring up the wiglet. Oh I want to go on, I'll take a look at the wiglets. You know, whenever a new Pokemon come out, I never think about the fact that they always they have a plush for an official plush for every Pokemon. And when I saw Wigglet, I never thought about the fact that he would eventually get a plush here and here he is. But I'm glad he did. Now that side profile. My guy gotta get that looked at. They have to know, they have to know when they designed that what they were doing. Didn't one of the designers come out and say, the trick to designing Pokemon is to make sure that they look like a dick. I think it was the Detective Pikashu guy. I think it took them ten twenty years, but they finally crushed it. Are you kidding? Is that an actual quote? I'm trying to look it up. Detective Pikachu concept artists claims Pokemon are meant to look like wieners. So it's it's important to note that the Detective Pikachu concept artist is the guy who who way back in the day got famous for like taking Pokemon and making them look really lifelike. He was like a fan artist, and then they picked them up for the movie because that's what they wanted to do. They wanted to take Pokemon and make them look really lifelike. So he decided, yes, they look phallic on purpose. Not only has this shape been integral from the beginning, but I heard while working on Detective Pikachu that this was no accident. I am absolutely not joking. It is a strong foundation shape. What is that? What bring up that image? There's penises? Yeah, dude, mewtwo is just is just a hot I could never see this. Is this the guy? Is this a real thing? This is the Detective pikachar Yeah, this is the guy? Or now it works at you be solved, I'll pass you be solved. Is this a real thing? Is this a joke? I don't know who his directs like because those are one hundred percent old penises. I think he drew this. He took the old Pokemon and drew the penises around them. So when he was working on Detective Pikachu the movie, he was using this core foundation too. If you make sure and you have become watch this part of the video because I have just had my mind blown that every Pokemon is literally just a penis. One last thing. This is from the concept artist that worked on Detective Peatu. One last thing. It has always been called pocket monsters, which without any prior knowledge of Pokemon, could literally only mean Dix, What the heck this is? Love this guy. Now I'm starting to realize why almost every Pokemon ends up being bipedal and stands up, because it's easier to draw it as a penis that way. That was one thing that really remember when we got the leaks for what the next Pokemon was going to be and we were looking at all the pictures of the new Pokemon, and a lot of them were quadrupeds, and I was like, Okay, this is not true. There's no way they're gonna have quadrupeds. I want to Yeah, I want to look up Spragato's evolution because I can't remember its name because I know it stands up. But I looked at Spragato and on its wiki pages a picture of its feet with like smell lines coming off of it, and it says Bragato releasing aroma from its pause. So I guess s Brigato has stinky feet? Why is that freedom feet? So does so does Zim. You're on the wiki page or the bulbapedia. Yeah, I mean I can show you if you want. It's not that interesting. But it's just stinky cat feet. Oh, drop a link in then it's going really slow for some reason. There you go enjoy that. That's just spragato. Oh no, there's a link. I sent a link. You took a picture off it bing. Yeah, this is where I was. I. Oh, there it is. M hmm. That's some people's thing. Yeah, sinky catfeet. It's the weed cat. That's why it smells like weed all the weed cat. We're done with the Pokemon yeah, I mean the Poke Company was done with the Pokemon percents before they even went live. I I did a poll earlier in the in the chat in the stream, I used to the current fan of Pokemon in twenty twenty three, not really one with sixty percent and yes one with forty percent. I mean, that's just a poll of our audience, but it's clear that a lot of people of falling off out of it. I would like to do. I actually did a poll for You're buying the Wiglet plush, and eighty percent of people said nope. I thought about it. I kind of gotta put that thing. I got nowhere to put that thing. I kind of want to do. I want to do another poll because I did that one when I started when we started stream, what should the poll be asking people? Because I don't want to do put that wiggle it plush? No, I kind of I kind of want to do, like, are you a full and Pokemon fan? Yeah? I fell I've fallen off many years ago. Oh yeah, I won't. Do you want to talk about anything else where? Yeah? We're like at a time here. We had a bunch of stuff we wanted to talk about, though I don't think I think the only thing here that's like really important is the the patents. I mean we we referenced this episode sixty four, and we had a sixty four game to talk about, and then we didn't talk about it. No, that was the sixty four game? Was colisseum? Oh? I thought you meant that tweet in the dock about Metroid sixty four. Oh I and watch this video? So no, I have nothing to say about this, but I would like watch Do you want to? We are at a time this is I think it's interesting that they're using footage of a two D Metroid game. Were they gonna make Metro sixty two D? I find that hard to believe. Uh, do you want me to? I can give you the skinny on it, if you want to give me the skinny real quick. I find it's funny because I sent that tweet in a in a chat and Hannah put it in the docs Reggie's tweet, and I don't know how she knows that's not the actual right she showed it to me, she said it was Reggie, and I was like, oh shit, and I looked out. I was like, oh, that's not Reggie. Bless her. So this actually is interesting but old news apparently because I clicked on the full story link and it's a did you know gaming video from eight months ago? Oh but this tweet just randomly happened in my in my feed, and I thought it was really interesting and could have been a fun conversation. But since we're out of time, I'll just summarize it for those that didn't watch the video. Back on the sixty four, Miyamoto was really pushing for a new Metroid game that he wanted to be in two D. And this is an interesting thought an idea, but at the time Nintendo and everyone else said, we just want to do three D right now. It's just that was the three D console and we did the games have to be in three D, which is a funny thought because now we have the switch obviously you know console since then, and you can have two D games on a three D console. Why can't you? But back then the mentality was no, it's three D or nothing. So the idea of a two D Metroid that they wanted to make and that they were pushing for it just kind of they didn't get to make it. They were just told, no, you can't make that. It's got to be three D or nothing, and they didn't want to work with three D yet. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Why but why it didn't happen because they were really against two D stuff on this. It's just funny. They were like they wanted that clear separation. And you can see that as well in star Fox two, which they finished and then didn't even let release because they were like, no, we we need a clear separation between the two D Snass because that was a snass game and the three D console that's coming up. So they didn't let that Superintendo what star Fox? Yeah no, but that's what I'm saying. There was a Supernintendo game that was in three D and they were like, no, we can't have that on the Supernintendo. We want a clear separation of three D and two D between these two generations. I would have loved to have seen a two D Metroid on the end sixty four. But there was more they went into. There was also the sales for Metroid at that point, because you had Metroid one, Metroid two, and then Sammis return No Samis returns the Super Metroid just bring up a your and the sales were drastically dropping off. So they were like, no, we don't want to do a two D Metroid. Also Metro it kind of fell off plus ratio, we don't want to do that. That was an interesting time because I mean it's it's like, you know, I, I've always liked two D games, and they were like, no, we're done with two D games right now. And then you know, a lot of those the great two D experiences started to move over to the Game Boy Advance, and it was like, this is what we could have had if they just kept making great two D experiences for certain franchises. Another interesting thing that they talked about in the Dignital Gaming video because I watched it to kind of be prepped, but the team that would have made the two D Metroid was busy making Virtue Virtual Boy games for Nintendo, and for about a span of like four or five years, that team was only making Virtual Boy games and Game Boy like two D Warrior games and some other like game Boy kind of style. They had like a whole list of games that honestly weren't that impressive, But there was a five year block where they didn't get to make really anything good or anything cool or a two D Metroid because the team was busy making Virtual Boy Tennis. Yeah, there's a lot of It's funny to think the tradeoff we ended up getting. There's a lot of really talented people inside of Nintendo that just aren't allowed to like knock on it. There's a lot of projects that are stifled because Nintendo forces them to work on you know, dumb stuff like the Virtual Boy. Yeah, I mean they said it. It's the time it takes to turn around a Game Boy Warrior game as to how many sales it makes greatly outweighed what made sense for making a two D Metroid, which makes sense and Warrior does well and obviously sells well. I'm trying to find the I've kind of found it the list of games that were made instead of Metroid. So they made one, two, three, four, five, Virtual Boy games, Mario Tannis, Mario Clash, Virtual Boy, Warrior Land. Then they made like Game and Watch Gallery again, Watch Gallery two game and Watch Gallery three, and then the Warrior Land games. So they were busy making all of those, and then they finally got to make Metroid Fusion in two thousand and two, so they made Fusion was sick. They made Super Metroid in nineteen ninety four, and then from there they were literally making Virtual Boy and game Boy games until two thousand and two when they got to make Metroid Fusion. It's just it's just a I find it interesting. It's just funny that Miamoto wanted to do some cool things like that two D Metroid, but instead we had this team for eight years making games that they probably didn't really want to make. But Warrior Warrior Land is Sick. They did make those would watch it this out. I got a little treat for all. Well, what were you doing just then?
