Now here's Matt Jones. 00:01:07 Speaker 4: Water Back I number two Tacky Sports Radio eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. The text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. Tomorrow the UK Vandy game is It's seven o'clock, right, Ryan, it's Chris. Yeah, so our pregame show will be at four point thirty. Uh. Only three home games left this year. It's crazy season. It's been an awesome season, right. It feels like it's kind of flown by, though, doesn't it. 00:01:33 Speaker 5: Dude. 00:01:34 Speaker 2: I can't believe there's three weeks left, six games left, and then we're looking to March. 00:01:37 Speaker 5: Madison has flown by. 00:01:39 Speaker 6: It really has. 00:01:40 Speaker 4: Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four One person rights, Matt, I love you, but sometimes you sell us out on the left, see Shannon, I get criticism from him. 00:01:51 Speaker 3: It doesn't matter what you're saying. 00:01:53 Speaker 6: Yeah, doesn't matter what you say. Uh. 00:01:54 Speaker 4: Donald Trump should say things. He hasn't even mentioned the floods, and yes he should be there. Well, he shouldn't be there. I disagree with he'd be in the way. He should say something. But if he hasn't yet, I bet he will. I can't imagine he. 00:02:08 Speaker 6: Won't you know. 00:02:10 Speaker 4: Look, even the worst presidents when there's a disaster, they'll say so he'll say something will take up for him. I bet he says that he should. But he definitely should acknowledge it and say something. But I bet he will if he does. 00:02:25 Speaker 5: And he had his governor jacket on. 00:02:27 Speaker 6: See I hate that. I saw that. Yeah, why do you got well, no, did he have his name on it? Do you have? 00:02:35 Speaker 5: I'm sure it's the one that's got his name on it? These governments. 00:02:37 Speaker 6: Why do they do that? 00:02:38 Speaker 4: Why can't well let me ask you. Okay, so you know I don't like the jacket with the name on it. Somebody wrote me though and said, Drew, it's okay to have the name on it during the disaster. 00:02:49 Speaker 6: Do you think you can have the name on it during the disaster? 00:02:52 Speaker 7: Well, I mean, what what's the difference? And I think you either like having your name on your shirt or you don't. I don't think the circumstances change that you're wearing your name. 00:03:02 Speaker 4: So then man tide all the time, we know you're the governor, right like we know you're the like people Michael Jordan wouldn't walk around Shandon with a jacket that said Michael Jordan on it. 00:03:12 Speaker 6: Yeah, would he. 00:03:13 Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I guess it is kind of like his uniform though right it's got his name on it, it looks more efficient. 00:03:18 Speaker 6: It used to be like that. He didn't used to do that? Did we did? Governors used to like? Did did all? 00:03:24 Speaker 4: Did Paul Patton walk around with the jacket that said Paul Patton on it? 00:03:27 Speaker 2: Ryan, Oh, I think it's it seems like Chris Christy started that trend. 00:03:31 Speaker 4: And like it's a new thing, the presidents and the governors and everybody wearing their name. 00:03:36 Speaker 6: I don't think that used to happen. I don't. 00:03:39 Speaker 5: I don't remember. 00:03:39 Speaker 6: It's like who in this. 00:03:41 Speaker 4: State at this point? Ryan doesn't know who Andy Basher is? Anybody you think anybody doesn't know who he is? 00:03:46 Speaker 6: Now? 00:03:48 Speaker 2: I'd say most people know the name. I don't know if they could everybody could recognize him. So maybe that's why he feels like, oh, you. 00:03:52 Speaker 6: Don't think everybody could? 00:03:53 Speaker 4: Wait, Manute, you don't think everybody could recognize the governor? I'd say that you d what percentage of the state you think could recognize him by face and say that's the governor? 00:04:03 Speaker 5: I'd say it's pretty high. I'd say eighty percent. 00:04:07 Speaker 4: Only eighty you think there's one in five Kentuckians who wouldn't recognize the governor? 00:04:13 Speaker 5: Sadly, I think that's probably true. 00:04:16 Speaker 3: Wow, I want to do this. I want to take Andy out on the streets and go do you know who this is? 00:04:20 Speaker 4: It is an interesting question because like Trump, the numbers like ninety. 00:04:25 Speaker 6: Nine percent who would know who he is? 00:04:27 Speaker 4: But the governor isn't on TV as much? But this governor, Drew was on TV every day during COVID, right, So like this governor uniquely, I think, like, I don't know if one in five, if four and five people would have recognized Matt Bevin, but this one's been on TV a lot. Do you think it's one in five Kentuckians Drew? Do you think wouldn't know who he is? 00:04:53 Speaker 7: I mean, if we're talking, he doesn't have his name on his jacket. Can you pass him in Kroger? I think a lot of people would walk right by him and notice I think, what. 00:05:01 Speaker 4: If he had on a suit though, and he looked like a professional, I grant you, if he had a hat on he looked like a slub, people might not recognize him. But let's say he's standing in a suit and you see a picture of Ay Basher in a suit and somebody said, who is this person? What percentage do you think would say that it's the governor of Kentucky Andy Sheer. 00:05:22 Speaker 7: I'd say that scenario is closer to ninety. But just passing him on the street, I think a lot more people, just different circumstances. You're not trying to guess. It might be like, well, that guy look familiar. 00:05:31 Speaker 3: Basically he's wearing that. For the other ten percent, so people will recognize on when it says governor. 00:05:38 Speaker 6: Okay, so shanning that. 00:05:39 Speaker 4: So you're saying this is for the one in ten people who don't recognize, for the. 00:05:45 Speaker 3: Most disconnected, like part of our all. 00:05:48 Speaker 6: Right, that's interesting. So it's for the it's for the lowest commenty. 00:05:51 Speaker 3: In case you don't know who I am, I'd be. 00:05:54 Speaker 6: Interested, like anyone who's listening to this show right now. 00:05:57 Speaker 4: This is if you if you want on the text machine seven seven two four five two five four, If you're listening right now and you don't know, and you can be honest, what Andy Basheer looks like. I would be interested in you saying that because someone who listens to this show clearly knows something about what's going on, right Ryan, because we talk about what's going on. 00:06:18 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, we mentioned Andy b. 00:06:20 Speaker 6: Sheer. 00:06:20 Speaker 4: But if you honestly would think, like I don't know what he looks like, I would find. 00:06:25 Speaker 3: But think about that though, I mean, like that interesting. He that's a man of the people. He is catering to the bottom ten percent to make sure that they know who he is. Like, that's that's taking care of everybody, right, it's not ignoring the bottom ten. 00:06:37 Speaker 6: Okay, So now you're making me feel bad. You're acting like he's. 00:06:39 Speaker 3: Like he's for the little man who doesn't recognize him. 00:06:42 Speaker 4: He's put what's the thing, he's putting jam on the little man's bread or what was it nest? 00:06:49 Speaker 6: Yeah, something like that. 00:06:50 Speaker 4: Well, all right, so I'm interested to see I I think a lot of governors people wouldn't know. But I feel like he was on TV so much. So let's go Drew for a second. To the SEC tournament. We talked about this. Kentucky's now an eight seed. If the SEC Tournament started today, Kentucky would play Thursday at one o'clock, probably against Mississippi States. That's how the tournament is kind of set up right now. But Mississippi State is only is right behind us, and if you look at the schedule, it could flip at which point then if we were the nine, we'd play at one o'clock on Wednesday and literally the first game of the tournament in Nashville. 00:07:31 Speaker 6: It is interesting, is if you look at the bracket, it's. 00:07:34 Speaker 4: Almost certain we're gonna be playing those one o'clock games the entire time, like literally through the finals. What do you make of the SEC draw as it stands now? 00:07:45 Speaker 7: For Kentucky, it's just crazy that Wednesday's in the conversation. I know it's hard to train our brains that the tournament's different and the SEC is different, but we were so spoiled with that noon game on Friday. Is the one seed for many years, and even I think that you could be playing on Wednesday seems crazy. And also everything's so clumped up. I mean, just win a few games, like you're only a game back from Tennessee. Yeah, I think you're only a game and a half back from All miss although they'd have a tiebreaker. But then right beneath you there's a lot of teams right on your back, so I think a lot of it can still shake up with six games up to play. That's why just finishing the job against LSU, Vandy and Oklahoma could keep you out of that Wednesday game. If they could do it. 00:08:27 Speaker 6: Yeah, it is, it's gonna It's crazy to think that. 00:08:29 Speaker 4: And now if we're an eight, you'd get in the quarterfinals, right and you'd see Auburn. 00:08:34 Speaker 6: And I watched most of that Auburn Alabama game. 00:08:37 Speaker 4: They are good. I mean they're the best team in the country. Don't you think would you put Auburn there? 00:08:42 Speaker 6: Oh? 00:08:43 Speaker 5: Absolutely, because they showed it. 00:08:44 Speaker 2: When Alabama cut a nine point lead and tied it, Auburn just put the pedal to the metal. 00:08:49 Speaker 8: Man. 00:08:49 Speaker 2: They just totally took control the rest of the game and won out by nine going away. 00:08:54 Speaker 5: So yeah, they're the best team. 00:08:56 Speaker 6: They are really good. 00:08:58 Speaker 4: I mean, to play at Alabama in a game that hight with that crowd and to lead from start to finish, is that one moment Alabama tide it. Otherwise, Auburn led the entire game. They completely dominated that game. And Alabama's really good too. But Auburn drew can Bruce Pearl, that Bruce Pearl win a title, would that not be insane? 00:09:26 Speaker 7: I think Bruce might be getting his ring this year. And if Kentucky were to play that eight game, beat Mississippi State, and then lose to Auburn, it would stink as a fan that was excited about the weekend. But I want to remind everyone Kentucky has lost five of its last six SEC tournament games. So if they beat Mississippi State, I'm popping champagne in Nashville and then we'll worry about Auburn when we get there. The tournament. Eric trips down there have been so bad lately. I wouldn't win one game if it's on Wednesday. Hell yeah, we won a game, and then we'll worry about Auburn. I know that sounds bad as Kentucky basketball and you're lowering the bar, but I just want to win a game in Nashville. 00:10:03 Speaker 6: Again. 00:10:04 Speaker 4: There are so many people who are riding me, Shannon, thinking I'm way overestimating Kentucky by saying eighty to ninety percent. 00:10:12 Speaker 3: Oh really, so they think a significant number or less. 00:10:16 Speaker 6: They get's like sixty or seventy. 00:10:18 Speaker 2: So we got to think about you know, the people that the foreigners that are living here in Kentucky, I don't know if they would recognize who Andy was. 00:10:24 Speaker 7: Some people just don't pay attention. 00:10:26 Speaker 4: What was the voter turnout that that's a very good point about about foreigner There's a lot of immigrants and people who maybe don't speak. 00:10:36 Speaker 6: English, like they might not know who he is. 00:10:39 Speaker 4: But like, still though, that's not a huge percentage of the population. 00:10:45 Speaker 3: Yeah, and so what's the other people's excuse they don't pay attention? Pay attention? 00:10:50 Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, okay, so what. 00:10:51 Speaker 4: If you went on UK's campus, how many of those students would know who he is? 00:10:57 Speaker 3: They're probably the ones that don't pay attention. 00:10:59 Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying. They might not pay attention the most. 00:11:02 Speaker 3: You know, it might be really a low percentage that would be. 00:11:05 Speaker 6: I'll tell you what. 00:11:06 Speaker 4: That's what we're gonna do. Where's Mario, that's his job today. I want him to get a picture of Andy Basher. Let's do this. I want him to get a picture of any Bashir. Who else do we want him to do? Mark Pope, Rick Patino, and give me one other person? Let's see, hang on, who would be somebody? Random? Mari Al right, So we'll do I want to do a picture of any bar Mark, Pope, Rick Patino, and then give me somebody that kids would know, but that like shouldn't be famous, Like who's somebody? Mm hmm okay, I like that all right, so let's do that. He I want him to get a picture of Pope year Patino and Portnoy take it to UK's campus. Just blindly show people on video the picture and say who is this? And let's see who is known the most out of that group. I'm gonna say, who do you think wins? Pope wins on UK's campus. 00:12:19 Speaker 6: Okay, between the Sheer Portnoy and Patino, who wins? You think? 00:12:29 Speaker 9: So? 00:12:30 Speaker 7: Yes, because I think the results are going to be sad to all of. 00:12:33 Speaker 4: Us, and I'm I'm excited, sh I'm excited to see who wins. 00:12:37 Speaker 6: Don't you? 00:12:38 Speaker 3: Pope's number one clearly, but out the other three, I think Patino. 00:12:42 Speaker 6: Take Pope out. 00:12:42 Speaker 4: Take Pope out because that may be too easy. But Sheer Portnoy, Patino, and then give me one more. Give me some a Kentucky in that people uh could or should know. Let's say, what's a basketball player that didn't play that long ago that we love, but that younger people might not know Patrick Patterson. 00:13:04 Speaker 6: Okay, all right, so I want that's what I want. 00:13:07 Speaker 4: I want Portnoy Patterson, but Sheer Patino, Drew rank them one, two, three, four. And by the way, you can't put Patterson in a jersey. He just has to be like a normal guy. Okay, what do you think, right, Drew? 00:13:20 Speaker 6: What order? 00:13:22 Speaker 7: Start at the bottom. Uh, it's gonna break my heart, but I think they're gonna struggle with Patrick Patterson, which is gonna last? 00:13:29 Speaker 5: I agree, unfortunately. 00:13:30 Speaker 7: I mean it's gonna hurt to watch, but I think he'll be last. 00:13:34 Speaker 4: Okay, how about this. Let's not do Patterson. Let's make it break your heart even more. Let's do Guilchrist. 00:13:39 Speaker 7: Oh no, I'll cry if they don't know Michael Kid Gilchrist. 00:13:43 Speaker 4: Gil Christ. Take Patterson out, Mario Gilchrist. All right, so now, Gil, Chris, Portnoy, Basher Patino. 00:13:49 Speaker 6: What's the order? 00:13:50 Speaker 7: Go ahead, Drew, I'm gonna do go Christ again, Chris last. I just I mean, have an inner viewed some uh like players and they're talking about their best favorite favorite Kentucky player. Ever, is like Shay, I just worry about people are going too far back, even though gil Kers shouldn't be that far. 00:14:09 Speaker 2: Thirteen years ago, so these students were like six seven. 00:14:15 Speaker 7: I'm going an order Gilchris last, then Beer, then Patino, then Portnoy, Portnoy at the type sadly right, what's your guest? 00:14:24 Speaker 5: That's exactly what I'm gonna say. Portnoy's one, Patino two, Andy three, Gilchrist four. 00:14:31 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Portnoy, Bser, Patino, Gilchrist. What about you, SHP. 00:14:39 Speaker 3: I think Patino is higher. I think he's probably like next to Bescher, He's probably number two. 00:14:44 Speaker 6: So you're going Buter, Patino, Portnoy, gil Christ. 00:14:50 Speaker 3: Yeah, gil Christ is still last on the list. 00:14:53 Speaker 6: I cannot believe. 00:14:56 Speaker 3: You know, if he gets to where his jersey like Andy does, then they're gonna know. 00:14:59 Speaker 4: Okay, what I'll even Let's give Yolkers advantage. He can wear his jersey. But Mario, you can't show Kentucky. It can just be him in a jersey, okay, just like yeah, just the shoulder straps, that's it. Like his head shot for a thing. Yeah, yeah, he just has to be just has to be him. He can be in a jersey but he can't, don't show Kentucky on it. I'm gonna be interested to see what happens me too. The Kentucky Chamber is working on important issue Kentuckians are facing. The Kentucky Chambers tackling big challenges like childcare access, barriers to work, and housing affordability. By championing solutions, they're strengthening communities and helping Kentucky families thrive. Their work supports a brighter future where business and communities across the state grow together. If you want to learn more, get involved, visit ky Chamber dot com today. And and Mario, you gotta have like half men and half women, because I think that's part of it too. If you just do all men like you gotta have both both genders and let's see what see what happens. I'm looking I'm actually more looking forward to this video just. 00:16:04 Speaker 3: I kind of want to keep hoping there, just because I want to see the person who doesn't the Pope is there might be or who doesn't know who that is? And I want to worry. 00:16:10 Speaker 4: You know, if there's someone you think wouldn't know Pope, I would be interested if anyone doesn't know Pope Yeah, there might be. There might be somebody's on UKs campus who doesn't know Pope, but he'd be first, and I think all these other. 00:16:21 Speaker 6: People could go either way. We'll take a break. Be right back. It's work her back. It is uh techy sports radio. 00:16:30 Speaker 4: My mom says, there's no way Ryan that eighty percent of Kentuckians would know. 00:16:35 Speaker 2: But shre, Yeah, she's you and I were talking about. I mean, no, what I just told Drew my son, Gavin's twenty seven years old. He wouldn't know any of those people that we just mentioned. He wouldn't know any of them. 00:16:47 Speaker 6: He wouldn't know any of them. 00:16:49 Speaker 5: Nope, no, picture, he wouldn't would. 00:16:52 Speaker 6: How many would Joe Syon though, who's seventeen. 00:16:55 Speaker 5: He would probably know Patino and Portnoy. Yeah, he wouldn't know Michael. 00:16:59 Speaker 6: King Christ What do you know, Bashir Eh? 00:17:05 Speaker 5: Does he have his jacket on? 00:17:07 Speaker 6: No? 00:17:07 Speaker 4: No, I can't have his jacket. If he has jacket, everybody would know it. That's the point point is does he need the jacket? 00:17:13 Speaker 2: I don't know if he would know who Andy was or not. He that's you know, a high school senior. 00:17:19 Speaker 4: One person writes Matt, what if Mario put your picture on it, I'd be last of that group. Although I worry about my man, Gil Christ. But more I think about it, I wonder if, like that's. 00:17:34 Speaker 2: Why when you threw that question out there, I almost said John Wall. We all kind of laugh at that, but that was fifteen years ago. 00:17:40 Speaker 5: I don't know. 00:17:40 Speaker 6: I think Wall. 00:17:42 Speaker 4: I think Wall would be no Patterson, and now that I think about it, wouldn't be known at all. 00:17:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, but you got to remember, like these college kids were three when he played. 00:17:51 Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I mean. 00:17:52 Speaker 3: So I don't think that I think I would be behind. 00:17:56 Speaker 4: I would be behind Portnoy, Patino and Basher, but I might be ahead of guilt. I'm worried about how Gilchris is gonna do now that I think about it, zero Like you're gonna have to be You're gonna have to be a basketball fan to know Gil Chris, right, Like, you're gonna have to be, Like it's got to be a kid who grew up being a huge UK fan. 00:18:14 Speaker 5: Yeah, that's it. Just the average out of state kids. 00:18:18 Speaker 6: They're out of state kids are gonna not gonna know who he is. 00:18:21 Speaker 5: Right, It's true. Out of state kids may not know any of them, but Portnoy. 00:18:26 Speaker 6: Yeah, they might not. 00:18:30 Speaker 7: Uh and do the exact same age. And I threw him in because I think it's gonna be embarrassing how many people know Portnoy and not the governor. 00:18:38 Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I think you're right. 00:18:40 Speaker 2: But yet, you know, I think we went went to the mall, it'd be the way around. They wouldn't know Portnoy, but they would know the governor. You know, just where you're gonna acd. 00:18:47 Speaker 10: No, no, yeah. 00:18:47 Speaker 4: If you if you went out in the state, Portnoy is last. Would you agree? If you just went out like to the average person in the state, then I think Patino gets way up there. But Tino is helpful by going out in the state than anything. But Sheer would too. I actually think if you went to the average Kentuckian, I think it might be Patino, basher Gil Chris Portnoy. 00:19:15 Speaker 6: You agree with that. 00:19:15 Speaker 5: I think that may be right. 00:19:18 Speaker 7: But Chris is gonna break my heart. It's gonna be hard to watch. 00:19:22 Speaker 6: It's gonna be hard to watch. Who's next? 00:19:23 Speaker 3: Earl? 00:19:25 Speaker 6: Earl? Go ahead, earl. 00:19:28 Speaker 10: Hey guys, it's got a few things here if you if you don't mind, First of all, I think I've got I think that Travis Perry is truly the answer to this team finishing out the year strong and possibly a championship for this team. It's everything we've seen going into this season. You know from last year, Travis Perry just kills people right, he was hitting. 00:19:53 Speaker 6: I don't want, I don't want, I don't wanna be. I love Travis Perry. 00:19:58 Speaker 4: You really think the winning a national championship is Travis Perry, who hasn't scored more than six points in a game this year. 00:20:08 Speaker 10: Absolutely absolutely, And I'll tell you why. If you watch that game. We didn't lose by much. We were controlling the game until he played horrible. I think Kentucky people have gave him this free pass because he's a Kentucky kid. He played absolutely horrible. But if he just hit some of his wide open shots. He missed layups, he missed three pointers wide open. He faded away three foot away from the guy. And this is it. When all you need is to foot normally to hit the shot, You're all make shot. 00:20:41 Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's like saying I mean, I agree, but that's like saying all you have to do is be perfect, and we all can be Michael Jordan, Well, we haven't seen Travis Perry. I love Travis Perry, but what have you seen him do it? Uk that makes you think he can be a guard that leads you to a national chief right now? 00:21:01 Speaker 10: Because the games we have lost have been by very minimal except for a couple. But when he hits, if he scores ten points, that game, we win easy because Texas would have gave up. If he's hitting the shots. Plusseett gets in his head, he starts playing horrible on defense. Even if he plays hoble on defense. If he's hitting shots that he just open shots, we win games. He doesn't have to be the best defender. He doesn't have to be, Michael Jordan. Just hit your shots. We win this game. And this is what he's supposed to do. 00:21:32 Speaker 4: I appreciate it now, I've got you. I got appreciate God. I got to move forward. Do you agree with that? 00:21:36 Speaker 9: Drew? 00:21:38 Speaker 7: I love Regent two and Travis Perry. I have no idea what the point that guy was trying to make. I mean, if anyone on the team made their shots, they'd win, right. Kobe Braa went oh for six? If he makes shots, they win. 00:21:48 Speaker 5: Yeah, that call hurt my head a little bit. 00:21:49 Speaker 7: I mean, I want to I want to get behind it. 00:21:52 Speaker 6: I like it. 00:21:53 Speaker 7: I love Travis Perry. I just don't understand the logic there that he's yeah, yeah, if Kentucky hit more shots, of course they'd win. 00:22:01 Speaker 6: Who did I miss something? 00:22:03 Speaker 3: Let's Mike. 00:22:04 Speaker 6: I just wanted you to say instead of. 00:22:06 Speaker 11: Mike, go ahead, Mike, Hey, guys, how's it going. I just wanted to. I just wanted to pint out something nobody seems to be. Everybody hates to talk about it, and they want to call you negative and everything like that. And you know, Drew made the point, and they make shots and they win, you know, and that is true because it covers up a lot of them. I have a lot of effort problems. I think if you if you look back at that Tennessee game, they got every defensive rebound on Tennessee, mass Yes, and they didn't get any I guess Texas, and that's just zero saying that's just that's not acceptable, and I don't I mean, could you imagine Patino's press conference after that. I mean, I think you. 00:22:47 Speaker 4: Make a really good point that the rebounding is an issue, and like it's been an issue. Now there are some games where they've been really good and then they're you're exactly right. 00:22:57 Speaker 6: I think that's a I think that's a fair point I appreciate to. 00:23:00 Speaker 4: If I'm nine two, eight oh twenty two eighty seven, there's quite a series of conversations. 00:23:06 Speaker 6: I'm now like, I want to have the answers for Mario, like right now on this is Michael K. Gilker's gonna get twenty percent? 00:23:14 Speaker 5: Oh no, no, ten point one. 00:23:19 Speaker 6: Come on, there's gonna be kids. We won a national title. 00:23:25 Speaker 5: With him thirteen years ago when they were four. 00:23:29 Speaker 6: All right, we'll be right back. 00:23:31 Speaker 7: TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:35 Speaker 6: Now. 00:23:36 Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:41 Speaker 6: Welcome back Turkey Sports Radio. 00:23:43 Speaker 4: If I'm nine two, eight oh twenty two eighty seven, people have strong opinions on this picture game, Shannon, I like. 00:23:49 Speaker 3: This, Yeah, I can't wait to see the results. 00:23:51 Speaker 4: Well, do it at UK and then I actually think it would be interesting to do like just with the general population, be interesting to maybe do it at a UK game and see what the reaction was. Patino would get almost one hundred percent knowledge of a UK game. But do you think of the average fan at a UK game Ryd would know Gil Christ walking in the door. 00:24:10 Speaker 5: Depends on the age, you know, the younger younger fans aren't. 00:24:13 Speaker 3: Gonna know what So figure this out. 00:24:18 Speaker 2: Yeah, Mario and Billy walked in the studio and I asked both of those guys, I said, would you know Michaels if you saw him? Billy said, I would only know him because you just did the show with us about a month ago or two months ago, every. 00:24:28 Speaker 5: When he did that Whiskey Thief show. 00:24:30 Speaker 7: I'm looking at Mario's photos. They're good photos, even the Patino photo, Like that's not a basketball, it's just a headshot, just a tie in his face. 00:24:38 Speaker 10: Uh. 00:24:39 Speaker 7: I think there's gonna be a lot of people that miss several of these Gil Chris discussions. 00:24:44 Speaker 6: I'm looking forward to a nice job. 00:24:47 Speaker 4: One person writes, Matt, did you see the Coach Cow documentary last night? Jim host takes a shot at you, and I wondered your thoughts. 00:24:56 Speaker 6: I did not see it. Has anybody seen it? Does anybody know what he said? 00:24:59 Speaker 5: I didn't you know? It came out last night? I know, I've not seen it yet. 00:25:03 Speaker 6: I didn't see it. 00:25:04 Speaker 7: I don't know if that one's gonna make it to my TV at any point. 00:25:07 Speaker 5: That's mister Jim Host. 00:25:08 Speaker 4: By the way, is it still mister Jim host if he's taking shots at me? 00:25:13 Speaker 5: No? 00:25:13 Speaker 6: No, do you want me or Jim Host? You got to decide. 00:25:19 Speaker 2: I'm taking I'm taking Matt Jones. But I still refer to him as mister Jim. 00:25:23 Speaker 6: Holst Shannon's that's mister Matt Jones. 00:25:25 Speaker 3: Yeah, mister Matt Jones, sir, Yeah, that's respect. 00:25:29 Speaker 4: I mean, if it's in the cow documentary, it's got to be something like we ran Cow off, which is nonsense, and that I mean, if that's what he said. 00:25:37 Speaker 6: It's nonsense. 00:25:38 Speaker 4: But again, speaking of that, you make, if you make nine million dollars a year and you can't take mild criticism from a radio host when you lose in the first round to a fourteen and a fifteen seed, then this isn't the job for you, right, It's just not if that's if that's like and that's there's no shame in that, but like, if you can't, then this isn't the job for you. 00:26:03 Speaker 6: What are you gonna say, Ryan. 00:26:05 Speaker 2: Uh, you were talking about the cow documentary stuff, So has it come out when he won? 00:26:09 Speaker 6: Here? 00:26:10 Speaker 5: Is that an episode on? 00:26:11 Speaker 4: I've seen a lot of clips from the Patino one, but I haven't seen any from the Cow one really good clips. 00:26:18 Speaker 7: The one that just came out is the Kentucky Games. That one's not for me, okayed by season. 00:26:26 Speaker 4: I don't know what Jim host said. I don't even know Jim Hosts. I've met him one time, and. 00:26:31 Speaker 3: Uh, would you recognize him if we showed you a picture? 00:26:34 Speaker 6: Yeah, I would recognize. 00:26:36 Speaker 4: I would recommend I mean time, and and he well, I may actually twice. Once he was very nice, and then the second time he was very like sort of aggressive with me, and I, you know, because he's a legend in this industry, I didn't want to argue with him, so I just was like, hey, good to see you man, and kept going. But yeah, I don't really know him, so I don't I don't know. Uh, Draft Kings, let's do our picks of some games to right. We're playing on Wednesday, which we've been playing Tuesday most years, but we are Wednesday, So Texas A and m is at Mississippi. 00:27:06 Speaker 6: State uh right, Texas A and M. 00:27:10 Speaker 4: Drew is seventh in the country right now, Mississippi State's a two and a half point favorite. 00:27:14 Speaker 6: This will be a battle who you got down in startvill. 00:27:18 Speaker 7: I'm gonna lean Mississippi State, but A and M is very good. That's why it's Brezi only too. I watched their their game against Arkansas. I mean, Wade Taylor and your nine looks good. But I'm gonna say Mississippi State gets it done just because they're the home team, right. 00:27:32 Speaker 2: Don't don't look now, but Texas A and M could for it with a one C in the n tournament if things go right away. 00:27:38 Speaker 5: You know that's crazy. 00:27:39 Speaker 4: If you want, if we, if you want us to get a bye in the SEC tournament, we kind of need to root for A and M tonight. 00:27:45 Speaker 3: Right because what Missippi States Misissippi. 00:27:47 Speaker 6: State is ninth. It's not we're eight, they're ninth. 00:27:49 Speaker 4: So if we, if you, if you want us to get a bye, we kind of need Buzz Williams to do a waltz down there, Shannon in startball tonight. 00:27:57 Speaker 3: Yeah. I think I think A and M wins the game. I think that's what's gonna happen, so we'll see. 00:28:01 Speaker 4: I'm gonna take a and M I think they're good this year. You go to Draft Kings, use promo code KSR and at five, one hundred and fifty bonus bets. That's your Draft Kings picking the night. Also, by the way, Kansas is seventeen and eight, ranked twenty third. This is the team people thought could win the national championship at BYU. 00:28:20 Speaker 6: By the way, they. 00:28:22 Speaker 4: Are like slipping, slipping, slipping in the I think they are a six seed in the bracketology now and if they lose tonight. 00:28:29 Speaker 6: They're the rest of their schedules really hard. Loo's up next? L d LD how are you ld turn your radio down? L d if you want to talk? All right, Hey, alright, let's turn out. Let's start it out. Let's go to ann and go ahead. 00:28:48 Speaker 4: And and you're doing a good job, Shannon, You're doing a good job. 00:28:56 Speaker 6: Brownie. Who's now? What's next? 00:28:57 Speaker 3: I'm just I can't help, but they don't talk. 00:29:01 Speaker 9: Rick, go ahead, Rick, Hey, guys, I got a couple of questions for you, and then I'll listen to what your answers are with what's going on in Auburn this year? 00:29:11 Speaker 12: And Pearl having his team at the top and people thinking they're gonna win the national championship. If he does win at Auburn, what do you think the chances of Indiana back in the Brinch truck up and coming in part? 00:29:29 Speaker 6: Why would he leave? Though? Why would he leave? 00:29:31 Speaker 4: I mean one of the things that happens when a guy wins the national championship at the school, the rationale to go to another school goes away. If you're Bruce Pearl and you win a national championship at Auburn and you got it rolling at Auburn and the SEC is the best conference, why in the world do you go to the train wreck at Indiana. 00:29:52 Speaker 12: Cash he goes for the cab but Auburn. 00:29:56 Speaker 6: I don't care. I don't care how much. Let me tell you something, sir, I don't care how much Indiana offers him. Auburn will match it. 00:30:05 Speaker 12: Yeah, Well, I think that he may look at it going that the SEC is gonna be so strong in the coming years that he could dominate more in the Big Ten and they're gonna give him anything he wants, and then. 00:30:18 Speaker 4: Auburn will get and if Auburn wins a title, they'll give him the same thing. Indiana fans need to process something, all right. Let me just let me just give Indiana fans a little bit of a reality check, all right. There are a lot of jobs that have come open since yours came open that are better than yours. Look at Kentucky. I think we got the right coach, but like we got turned down. Indiana is not a good job, indymore, Indiana is not a powerhouse program in the eyes of anybody under the age of forty. 00:30:52 Speaker 6: So y'all gonna have to go get somebody and hope it works. 00:30:55 Speaker 4: You hired Mike Woodson last time because nobody else wanted you. Bruce Pearls and Auburn, I'm gonna give you a little secret. Auburn's is good, if not better, a job than Indiana is. 00:31:05 Speaker 6: Right now. Their environments better. 00:31:07 Speaker 10: I hope, I hope. 00:31:08 Speaker 12: I hope he stays at Auburn. That's just I mean, I'm an sec UK guy, and I you know, I'm just thinking ahead of what they, you know, because I've been hearing that they want him so bad. But then I'm looking at North Carolina and the dumpster fire over there, and I'm wondering the kid the kid that just signed that we went after if they dump Herbert Davis, if that boy decides to lead, we got to lead in on him with the kid that. 00:31:36 Speaker 6: I don't know what Herbert, Yeah, maybe, I mean, I don't know. 00:31:39 Speaker 4: I appreciate the call, you know, an I else changed all this a lot to where if he's getting the money, he may just decide to stay. But we'll see what happens with Herbert. They've been a huge disappointment as well Herbert. We'll be right back Matt, Ryan, Drew and Herbert. This is KSR. Why'd you play this song? 00:32:43 Speaker 3: Shitnon uh, it's just a song talking about where everybody knows your name. 00:32:48 Speaker 4: Oh for the picture, Yeah, sorry, I took me a minute. All right, Hey, Central Kentucky. If you're looking for new furniture, appliance is a bad check. P Rats a locally owned and operate appliance, furniture and mattress company. 00:32:59 Speaker 6: Seventy five years. 00:33:01 Speaker 4: In the Lexingon community. That's crazy, seventy five years. They've won the best appliance retailer in the Bluegrass for the last six years. They're here to help. They got one in Lexington one, enrichingmen, amazing prices, top notch service. This thing they're playing is the Four Nations? We hate shoot out? Are you gonna watch it to see if they fight more? 00:34:03 Speaker 10: Might? 00:34:03 Speaker 6: Now? 00:34:03 Speaker 3: I like, by the way, how you know all three of these fights could have happened at once, but they let like each person have their own round, you know, like's like this time we're gonna focus on YouTube, and then after they're done, we bring in two more. So I kind of like the way. 00:34:16 Speaker 6: They do it. You know, two of the American guys were brothers, the ku Chucks. 00:34:19 Speaker 4: So one kut Chuck fought and then they waited one more second and then drew the other kut chuck fault. 00:34:25 Speaker 6: They were like, ku chuck, let's keep ka chucking. 00:34:27 Speaker 7: They did not give any kut chucks, Mark Pope said last night, but he used the He showed the team in the locker room the first thirty seconds to show them kind of how to fight. Now Wednesday tomorrow night, they come out and just start punching people on Bandy. They might have overreacted a little bit motivated. 00:34:44 Speaker 3: Well, no, no, you don't want to do that. You're already down. Your roster's going down to seven people. 00:34:47 Speaker 4: You bring Dart now, bring Darby Shire and Horny in and let them fight and then they can get kicked out and it'll be Uh. 00:34:54 Speaker 3: They're not winning a fight against anybody who they be. 00:34:56 Speaker 6: They're probably not, probably not. I'm trying. 00:35:00 Speaker 4: NBA All Star Weekend was widely panned and we could get you know, I had to talk about it on ESPN so much that I don't really care. But Mac McClung Ryan did jump over a car, and I do. 00:35:13 Speaker 6: I will say this. 00:35:15 Speaker 4: Everybody likes to mock NBA All Star Weekend, and that's fine, but Mac mcclunk dunking is amazing. 00:35:20 Speaker 6: He jumped over a car. 00:35:21 Speaker 4: He did a dunk where he took the ball, touched the rim and then dunked He had a one where a guy held up two balls and he dunked them both, Like like that. 00:35:29 Speaker 6: Dude's amazing, isn't he? Dude? 00:35:31 Speaker 5: It was his third year in a row he's won that. 00:35:33 Speaker 2: He's been the only thing besides title Hero win in the three point cause Max McClung is the only thing that even interests me even. 00:35:40 Speaker 3: A little bit. 00:35:40 Speaker 5: In the NBA All Star Weekend due. 00:35:42 Speaker 4: Did you like McClung And I like the kid that made one hundred thousand dollars I don't know what the game was exactly and ended up jumping in a tub of money. 00:35:50 Speaker 6: I did like that. 00:35:52 Speaker 7: Yeah, mister beast throwing some more money around. McClung's awesome, and whatever the All Star Game makes, he deserves half of the cunty because that's what everyone watched. Also, love our connection. We've been to Gate City, Virginia, home of Mat McClung. We ate some Ostrich there. But yeah, I mean, he's the whole show. It was cool that Tyler Hero won, but the main takeaway is Mac McClung was the only real entertaining part of the whole weekend. 00:36:14 Speaker 4: Now, I watched the SNL fifty thing Shannon, and I have to say I thought it was awesome. Let's start with the music concert. I don't know how much of it you saw, but like, how in the world did they get all these people to perform? 00:36:26 Speaker 6: I mean they had everybody. 00:36:27 Speaker 4: It was like Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, they had all these people, and then post Malone played with Nirvana play it Smells like teen Spirit. I posted the video. It still is going crazy viral. It's now the second biggest video I've ever posted. Really, everybody fighting about whether or not he's good or not. 00:36:46 Speaker 6: I actually thought it was kind of awesome, and I don't even like post Malone, But what did you think? 00:36:50 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's a tough song to sing to begin with, when you're trying to sound like Kirk Cobain. So I think that he did a pretty good job of it, and I liked that. You know, you finally got to see Nirvana back together again. 00:37:01 Speaker 4: When did the guy that's not uh Dave Grohl or Pat Smear what's the other guy's name, Chris? 00:37:09 Speaker 6: When did he start looking like doctor Phil? 00:37:12 Speaker 3: He does look like he looks exactly like that, a little mustache. 00:37:19 Speaker 6: When did he become doctor Phil like. I guess he always wears a hat. I don't think i'd ever noticed before. Yeah, but I like, yeah, he was. I liked him. And then the actual drew. 00:37:28 Speaker 4: The actual show it was three and a half hours, and I actually thought it was really good considering what they were trying to do and mixing in all the generations. I found it extremely entertaining. Adam Sandler's song where he mentions Chris Farley and Norm kind of brought a tear to my eye. I thought the Black Jeopardy skit was good. Meryl Streep played a role I didn't think she was gonna play. 00:37:53 Speaker 6: I actually thought it was really good. 00:37:54 Speaker 7: Did you Yeah, you listed my favorites. You know, I've been down on SNL for a while, although it's been pretty good lately. But I thought they did a great job with the anniversary. Uh, the Weekend update was really good. My favorite of all the skits though, was probably Eddie Murphy doing Tracy Morgan. Was standing to Tracy even you know, we love when they break character. Tracy Morgan was trying not to laugh at him, and he just kept going on and on. And also, like you Sandler, even though I knew it was coming him doing Norm and Farley kind of in the same you know, right there at the same time. That one got me pretty good. Those are my two favorites sting to be on SNL. 00:38:29 Speaker 4: I thought, boy Bobby mor Than hand is drunk uncle also was really good. 00:38:33 Speaker 6: I missed that. That's one of the better characters they've ever had. 00:38:36 Speaker 7: So also I didn't. I didn't realize how much I missed. Molly Shannon just having her back bouncing off the walls was hilarious too. She was a really good All of it was going back in time. 00:38:47 Speaker 4: About Will Ferrell and that woman Shannon singing not like us like Anna gas Star is the middle schoolers? 00:38:53 Speaker 6: Did you see that middle school? 00:38:55 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:38:55 Speaker 4: Dude, I thought that was great. And then White Lotus debuted last night. Has anybody watched it yet? 00:39:00 Speaker 6: I've seen it. I watched it, and I haven't watched yet. Is it good? 00:39:03 Speaker 5: Well? 00:39:03 Speaker 2: The first episode just kind of character development. You're getting to know all the characters, so I'm sure it'll take off. 00:39:09 Speaker 6: Here they talk about Duke versus North Carolina. Is that right? Like is that part of the show? 00:39:15 Speaker 5: If? Oh, yeah, that's right, the one family. 00:39:17 Speaker 6: Did you watch the episode or not? I can't remember I watched it. 00:39:21 Speaker 2: There's a family one like the husband graduated from Duke and the wife graduated from North Carolina. 00:39:26 Speaker 5: That's what it is. 00:39:27 Speaker 6: Okay, Well, it seems like you paid close attention. Who's up next? Shit, Wilkie, Wilkie, go ahead, Wilkie. Hey, Matt. 00:39:35 Speaker 7: Two things. 00:39:36 Speaker 8: One's a quick question and one's a comment. The first one, do you have any idea why we don't know what time the Auburn game is? And then the second thing that I wanted to call about this a couple of weeks ago after Shepherd war the Arkansas shirt, but I never got around to it, and the n KG thing fits right into it. And basically I like to compare those two because Michael kid Chris, he went higher in the draft, he won a title here, not even fifteen years ago, and boom, case in point, people won't even recognize a picture of him. Here is Reed Shepherd in comparison, who played here one year, lost in the first round. All he did was score some points and then he you know, the only reason we're going to remember him. 00:40:17 Speaker 5: Is because of his last name. 00:40:19 Speaker 4: Yeah, from Kentucky, Like yeah, though, I mean that's natural, it's from Kentucky. I mean, like he's from here, his parents went here, you know, he's from the mountains. 00:40:28 Speaker 6: Like that's that's those are the reasons. And he's a great player. I mean he was a great player too. 00:40:33 Speaker 8: But he's taken advantage of our love for that by wearing the shirt and not apologizing none. 00:40:38 Speaker 11: Of that stuff. 00:40:39 Speaker 8: I just think it's it's crazy to me that, you know, people would still love him forever when he could do something like that, mistake you're sorry to come back. 00:40:47 Speaker 4: Yeah, let's be real though, he's nineteen years old, and I appreciate it called nineteen twenty something like that. 00:40:53 Speaker 6: People make mistakes. I think you got to give him a break. 00:40:56 Speaker 4: I think that was a mistake, and I think the criticism he took was vaud But he's also nineteen twenty years old, and if I was judged on a national stage of everything I did at nineteen or twenty, it might not always look great. So I think he deserved criticism. I also think like it shouldn't last forever. As far as the game times, they decided this year to basically flex the last three games of the year so they could put the best matchups at the best TV times Ryan, I think it's a smart idea. Now that ESPN owns all of the SEC games, they decided to do that. In years past they couldn't because CBS had some of the games. But now they're going to pick the best times going in those last few games. 00:41:41 Speaker 2: And that's gonna be a huge game. Kentucky and Auburn at Upperna. Probably game day is going to be there, so they'll they'll they'll get a good time slot. 00:41:47 Speaker 5: Don't worry. 00:41:48 Speaker 6: I'd say it'll be like six o'clock. It'll be six or eight. Like it's a goal four. 00:41:52 Speaker 7: I mean it's either one or four as how it was listed. 00:41:55 Speaker 6: Oh it's one, okay. 00:41:56 Speaker 4: Then it might be their ABC game at one because there's a game at So yeah, we'll see Thank you folks very much. 00:42:03 Speaker 6: Remember my trivia is Thursday night tomorrow. We are back at cas Bar for the morning show and the pregame show Wednesday. All that. 00:42:11 Speaker 4: Glad to be back going and we will see you tomorrow. Gotta beat Vandy tomorrow night. Let's focus and get a win. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio
