Speaker 1: One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment, perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, market shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. When you contact Doctor Mortgage, you get paired up with a local lender. That lender will give you your options. That lender will explain the situation. You can ask your own questions. That's what it's all about, getting to the closing table as simple and as easy as possible. Our friends at scot To Mortgage focus on helping people understand their options. Whether you're ready to buy now later or just starting to ask questions. There's no pressure to make a decision, just a chance to get real information and a clear picture of what's possible. Sometimes the smartest move isn't waiting, it's getting informed. Visit stock to dot com today to learn more about your options. MLS eight two five nine, Equality Lender, MLS Consumer Access.

Speaker 2: Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

00:01:07
Speaker 3: Welcome back. Have a number two Kentucky Sports Radio. Here at Media Row in San Francisco, Whiskey Thief. It is our Whiskey Thief takeover day with their Thieve your Own experience. Go check out Whiskey Thief in Franklin County and in Louisville's Tasting Room. It is the bourbon of Kentucky Sports Radio. Billy R Sports Drew Franklin and I. You guys ran all the way up there, got a drink during the break and got here right in time. Kay Adams show has started over there. Even sadder that Mario is not here because we have a perfect view. For all we know, Mario did not refuse, did not get not get his credential back, and is instead over there with Kay Adams. That's also possible as well. It could all be one big lie. Yellowch apparently was the guy who guarded Cale Wilson.

00:01:55
Speaker 4: Okay, so that's right.

00:01:58
Speaker 3: That was the game. I didn't get to watch because I was with my day, So I uh uh, so I didn't know that. But Yellowvich would be. That's an interesting option. I guess if it worked with Kay Wilson, might as well try with Nate Amen Wilson.

00:02:09
Speaker 4: Uh, you know, he's he scored a lot of points. I think he's very inefficient from the field. He had one little one handed turnaround late in the game that was like an NBA where we thought, yeah, we could have used that, but uh, they did pretty good on him overall.

00:02:20
Speaker 3: Who's this big guy. I don't know something this dude. Yeah, the one, the guy that looks six eight with the mohawk. Did you see that guy, that's the one I'm talking about?

00:02:32
Speaker 4: Shoulder bump?

00:02:32
Speaker 5: I passed by him. He said he was Psychedelics helped him in recovery, is what he was saying.

00:02:37
Speaker 3: In the end, he said it to you. No, what was the context of the conversation. He just walked up to you and said psychedelics.

00:02:42
Speaker 5: Walk trying to get back here, and he was talking about how psychedelics had helped him in his recovery.

00:02:48
Speaker 3: Oh, you know, I hear a lot more about that. They say that about people in Kentucky. Is like one of the places is in Kentucky, right.

00:02:55
Speaker 5: Well, yeah, the guy that.

00:02:57
Speaker 3: No, there's a guy who who talks a lot about psychedelics to help, you know, former veterans and people like who deal with like PTSD and that kind of thing. And he says that psychedelics help. And he I believe he is from Kentucky, so I think he's had some fights maybe with the legislature about that. Speaking of that a non sports thing, Andy Shecher went on TV yesterday and said that the Lexington response to the snow has been unacceptable. Said he offered the States help right after the snow to help clean up the roads, and the city said no. So that's that, first of all, interesting just from a political standpoint, because he and Linda Gordon are, you know, in the same party. I mean she I think she maybe she used to be Republican, I don't know, but like she's a pretty moderate to liberal person. And you don't usually see a governor just call out, yeah, to just call out a mayor. But like, if it's true that he offered the states help in cleaning up the roads and they said no, that's probably a bad look.

00:04:02
Speaker 5: And Andy, because those roads are still terrible. I don't expect every you know, back road to get done like two weeks. But like turning lanes and busy intersections are still full of ice. So, like, I just I completely agree with Andy. And if that's true.

00:04:16
Speaker 3: That they that the state offered it and they said no, that's kind of inexcusable to me.

00:04:22
Speaker 4: Really, And just the fact that the governor's calling out the city in itself is you don't see that often.

00:04:26
Speaker 3: Say it was a second storm in a row where it's.

00:04:28
Speaker 4: Happened and I'm you know, I'm just a neighborhood subdivision. But my house in my street. I just talked to Abby last night. No different than it was the day we did meteorologists madness on that Monday. It has not changed when it's just a block of ice. Still, nothing is different. And how long has that been. It's been two weeks. I mean it starts knowing what Saturday two weeks ago. I mean we're going on two weeks now.

00:04:51
Speaker 3: Apparently some of it might melt this weekend, which is good, but still, I mean two weeks is unacceptable.

00:04:58
Speaker 5: It is I mean, I don't know, like you said, that can be a big factor in somebody trying to get reelected, right, and the little things like that snow points.

00:05:06
Speaker 3: I mean, if you think about it, like what does a mayor do? Like asking like I think that when when you when people judge mayors, they're gonna judge probably number one crime, right. The number one thing is like public safety and crime. The second is probably like is this place clean? Right? And then third might be snow. I mean what else does I know? Mayors do other things? But I don't think people know, right, Like, what do you think a mayor does, Billy besides the things I just says.

00:05:37
Speaker 5: His hands, kiss babies, be a figurehead for for what?

00:05:41
Speaker 3: For crime? Snow and the place.

00:05:45
Speaker 4: I might even put snow number one because right now with school being out, people are going broke on like daycare and things that they have. I've mentioned there's cars are going to be wrecked from what we've had in Electionton. There are parts where there's now big potholes from the ice the new circle that is just ast I mean, I can.

00:06:02
Speaker 3: Tell you that restaurants. I've talked just in the last week to restaurant owners who say business is like way down in the last two weeks because they're still people who don't want to be out at night because of the eyes, and so they won't come out at night. You know, we had we we we've been down in the last couple of weeks because of it. Like, I get it. I mean I think there's a lot of reasons for for people to be frustrated, you know. So, but you don't see a governor calling out a mayor very often.

00:06:32
Speaker 5: Oh that'd be like you know, good Morning Football calling each other out on air instead off their It's like he.

00:06:38
Speaker 6: Just wants to say, like, my hands are clean of this, and he's just throwing So you.

00:06:41
Speaker 3: Know, Okay, now that Shannon's taken the opposite view, you don't you think Shannon is he's just covering his take.

00:06:47
Speaker 6: Well, he's going like, look, don't blame me for this. We offer them help. He's throwing Mayor Gordon.

00:06:51
Speaker 3: If that's true, though, what if he actually did offer him help and they didn't take it.

00:06:55
Speaker 6: Well, then that's that's bad on Mayor Gordon for not taking their help.

00:07:00
Speaker 2: But he's kind of just throwing her out there under the snowplow.

00:07:02
Speaker 3: I mean, yes, he is throwing her under the snow plow. That's exactly. Let me just say, Shannon, yesterday was a hilarious moment. So there's a thing over here called the it's like the Bounty Football Challenge and you're trying to throw footballs through a hole. Was okay, yeah, Now the way to do that is probably to take two hands and just push it right rather than trying to make it. But but but I decreed that we couldn't do that because I thought that was like Shannon unfair right now, to be fair to me and Drew, the hole was like low. The hole was low. Show well the hole was low. So Drew and I were having to come like throw it off. I was both and people were asking, well, why did you throw like that? It was the only way for me. If I threw it from above, I wouldn't have made any because of the you know so, so Drew and I both kind of had to throw it side on him Billy, but you know what, he was able to throw it more normal. With that said, I got six, Drew got four, and Billy comes up and starts poorly. I mean, he's all.

00:08:10
Speaker 4: Over the place, right. We wondered if he'd get one.

00:08:13
Speaker 3: He's like Zach Calzana and he's not getting his money right, like he's not hitting the target, and then with a ten seconds left goes on an amazing run four in to row gets the win. He gets seven wins the competition. Shannon, no one's ever been happier than Billy. I mean, like the celebration that was not for camera, Like that was just his internal you know what I mean.

00:08:38
Speaker 2: Like that I saw nipple and the celebration.

00:08:40
Speaker 3: He decided to reverse the quarter zip, gave the crowd a little bit of what they wanted, you know, gave the people working for Bounty some excitement. And uh. And I have to say, even though I'm very competitive and like to win, I kind of was happy for you because I saw how much you wanted to win, and it was kind of nice.

00:09:01
Speaker 5: We had just gotten off the set where Christian Watson had called me lazy and five and one shampoo for the courts.

00:09:06
Speaker 3: Okay, So for people who don't know, you've got to listen to Friday's cover zero. We're having an interview with Christian Watson where he roast Billy. I mean so much so, Shannon, that I made cheer for the packers now because he roast Billy about his quarter zips, including saying that his quarter zips are the equivalent of five and one shampoo.

00:09:33
Speaker 5: So I just got off the stage from a lot of pent up in me. I had watched too many Doctor Pepper halftime shows. At the SEC Championship game, we didn't do the push, but you know I had the spiral down. I started using the laces late and that's how I got on the run.

00:09:48
Speaker 3: Your first first few throws, you didn't use the la which is something they teach you at quarterback school. But I was happy for you. He got he won a month's supply bounty, which is nice. He will have he'll have clean counters and whatever else they cleaned. So yeah, I'm surprised. We talked about this bounties like the number one sponsor. Number One's fine. Everybody here's bounty there. They're everywhere. It's a it's a crazy scenario. But were you happy for Billy? I was that that release? There was like something pent up there? Are you even shaking a little bit? And you know, I'm not that competitive.

00:10:21
Speaker 4: I wanted to win, but your excitement was more exciting than Matt and I ever could have had it.

00:10:26
Speaker 3: And I loved it, so we wanted you to have it. I'm glad you got that and you went on a run to do it too. You came from behind, kind of like Kentucky versus LSU. You had your Malachi Mourino moment.

00:10:36
Speaker 5: There's something about wearing khaki pants, whether it be Haybell tosses or football contests.

00:10:40
Speaker 4: Right still do.

00:10:41
Speaker 3: All great football quarterbacks square khaki pants. And I'm proud of you. Who's up next?

00:10:45
Speaker 2: Let's go to Ryan.

00:10:46
Speaker 3: Ryan, Go ahead, Ryan A nine two eight twenty two eighty seven.

00:10:51
Speaker 7: Hey, they're Matt. This is Ryan, a first time caller, longtime listeners, and.

00:10:55
Speaker 3: Ron, what's up?

00:10:57
Speaker 7: Man? I have a grievance about the man that called in early a little bit of hate towards San Francisco. Now I'm going raised in southeastern Kentucky my whole life, you know, just praying to the Lord, stuff like that, so you can kind of imagine who and what you know, I am. Like my wife, she works at a wonderful place here in Lexington Greenhouse seventeen. They had an opportunity to go to San Francisco to a conference, so I jumped on board and it was an amazing time. Not only is that city beautiful, geologically, geographically, I mean all of those things, it is an intelligent city. I think that is the biggest problem. Maybe that that man with the chaw in his jaw didn't quite understand. Wow, I'm not here to be, you know, so upset. But people want to talk ill about a place. Now, that's one way, sure, But whenever you go there and you experience it, now that's a totally totally.

00:11:51
Speaker 3: I have only been to one and I appreciate the call. I've only been to one city in the world where I felt I think that I think there's like this this thing that people get scared of travel because they think I don't know because it's unknown. I've been to one city in the world where I was felt unsafe, where Marseille, France. And even then I've heard there are parts that are really nice. I just wasn't in them.

00:12:20
Speaker 2: Because okay, I get lost in the backyard.

00:12:22
Speaker 3: Or I was in Luxembourg, I wasn't. I wasn't scared there. But mar Marseille, France was the one place where I was walking down the street and I was like, but I mean, listen, I say this all the time. Every place has got places where you shouldn't go. Right. There are places of Bell County that I would tell you if you don't know anybody, and it's after dark. Maybe don't go to RJ right, you know, because they're gonna be like, what are you doing here?

00:12:54
Speaker 2: Will?

00:12:55
Speaker 3: Why are you here? Every city? So you know, are there places in San Francisco that are not nice? I'm sure there are, but there's a lot of nice places, So don't be scared to come to a place.

00:13:08
Speaker 4: I had a moment yesterday.

00:13:09
Speaker 5: I went to that.

00:13:10
Speaker 4: It's like one hundred year old place here and I met the staff. They're also nice, and I set up from Kentucky. He's like, we never get Kentucky here and I was like really, and he said, yeah, I think it's TV news. We don't have the best reputation. And I had a great conversation, great meal. When I was leaving, he gave me a stack of postcards. He said, give these to your friends and family in Kentucky and say we loved having Kentucky here and hope more people will come visit. And I was like, hey, they kind of hit me and like, dang, they feel like we hate them in Kentucky. But also he was so nice. He was like, take these back and pass it around here.

00:13:37
Speaker 3: And it's also like, Billy, there's some things here that you can't see in any other city the hills like the hill, Like, there's no other place there's no city in the country that's got hills like that.

00:13:48
Speaker 5: Island prison and there's an island prison.

00:13:51
Speaker 3: There are other places with island prisons.

00:13:53
Speaker 5: But yeah, it's two bridges that I hope that we're gonna.

00:13:56
Speaker 3: There's a Golden Gate Bridge and a Bay bridge, although Drew has made clear one he likes.

00:14:01
Speaker 5: And I mean, you got Lombard Street, you.

00:14:03
Speaker 3: Got these way mos everywhere.

00:14:05
Speaker 5: We were on top of the World last night on the top.

00:14:07
Speaker 3: May say that that's a beautiful view at the top of it. It's called the Top of the Mark and you and and the windows are, uh, there's windows all across around the building, and that's like that's one of the better views. Like you have to go to Manhattan to see a view that high and that that pretty.

00:14:24
Speaker 5: It was beautiful, it was stunning. But then also earlier that day we were in an alley that smelled like urine and where Mario could have lost his credential over there.

00:14:31
Speaker 4: I do think that's where Mario's credential He did a photo shoot.

00:14:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, so he did. He did probably lose his credential in the Urine Alley. But that's not you're not helping my point there.

00:14:40
Speaker 5: Well, like there are places like even in the most beautiful cities, like like the Urine Alley.

00:14:45
Speaker 4: Yeah, listen, I've peed in multiple alleys and lessn and sometimes you got p in an alley. I'm not judging anybody for pen and an alley.

00:14:51
Speaker 3: Well, I mean calendar, Yeah, tell me about Stockton Mortgage.

00:14:55
Speaker 5: Billy, Oh, Stockton Mortgage. You know, it's always a great time to buy, but maybe you're prepping for spring season, right, I mean maybe that's when you're targeting.

00:15:02
Speaker 3: Uh.

00:15:03
Speaker 5: They can get you ready. They can put you through the entire process when it comes to like if you're somebody like me who's still renting and you're not sure of like the the more, like what a mortgage is, or like even like what you need to do next, they can walk you through that entire process. They're really friendly. It's not like AI like here in San Francisco. You're gonna get a real person talking to you.

00:15:22
Speaker 3: It's nice.

00:15:23
Speaker 5: So, yeah, check out Stockton Mortgage. They obviously work with Ryan, but they've done a lot for Kiss.

00:15:27
Speaker 3: What would the website be.

00:15:29
Speaker 5: Stockton dot com. That's right, and then m l N m LS.

00:15:35
Speaker 3: There's a number. I don't know that one, okay, eighty seven.

00:15:40
Speaker 5: Yes, but thank you to Stockton for all that they've done.

00:15:42
Speaker 3: Actually did a good job. You did better than Rin does without a script sometimes, so I give you quick because you don't even have a script.

00:15:47
Speaker 5: No, no script.

00:15:48
Speaker 3: You did a nice job. We'll take a break right back. This is Kentucky sports radio.

00:15:54
Speaker 4: Guys.

00:15:54
Speaker 3: Thanks good, Thank you guys. Is it homage? Homage work? I'm back, It is sports radio. What's the name of the company. I'm out of Ohio. Out of Ohio. They make these T shirts. Gave us one. I went to Radio row and all I got was this lousy T shirt. Thank you very much, So Matt little inside ball.

00:16:11
Speaker 4: They used to have UK gear, and when I talk about UK isn't the easiest to work with. Sometimes they don't have K gear anymore.

00:16:17
Speaker 3: Right, Billy. First of all, Billy freaked out during the break. Who did you see, Gerald Shady McCoy, Gerald McCoy, Jerald McCoy, you like went crazy. You said you looked Shannon. He looked at him, and he goes, Gerald, you're a true buck. To him, you did. You said you were a true buck. You were excited.

00:16:36
Speaker 5: Well, he was a high draft pick and was on the team for a while on some bad teams, like really bad teams. Very outspoken, he's kind of got a quirky side. He's like a comic book nerd. He's really into superheroes like you. No, but I mean that stuff is fine. But like, he really connected with the fan base. He's gotten a lot of criticism though, and I think it's unwarranted in a lot of ways. So I just wanted to give him Mike.

00:16:57
Speaker 3: Now, who is this person right here that you don't want?

00:16:59
Speaker 5: This is camer On Jordan. He's a saint, all right.

00:17:01
Speaker 3: Cameron Jordan asked Cameron Jordan to come on the show.

00:17:05
Speaker 4: I'm not watching this.

00:17:06
Speaker 3: Some time in my back, ask you watch. I don't want to have him on the showd I do so like you. You're you're one, you're a producer here on the set. Why don't you walk right over there? Will you walk right over there?

00:17:15
Speaker 5: It seems like he's like with them, right, but just.

00:17:17
Speaker 3: Say pop on? Could you pop on for just a second.

00:17:20
Speaker 5: Why so you can set me up with this guy doesn't like you?

00:17:22
Speaker 4: Yes, you know your own funeral.

00:17:26
Speaker 5: So I'm going to decline this interview request before it even happened.

00:17:29
Speaker 3: How can you decline interview request? You if you don't get to decline? Cameron Jeordan, he's on the move here, he is, Do you have a second? Okay, so that's a not exactly. See he doesn't Now you know why you don't like you.

00:17:47
Speaker 5: I didn't want to talk to him.

00:17:49
Speaker 3: He could probably tell that's why I didn't want to do it.

00:17:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, you said no first, Billy. Let the records show that Billy was the first one to.

00:17:55
Speaker 3: Say turned him down before he turned that.

00:17:57
Speaker 5: I don't even like him talking to Gerald over there like they could be right.

00:18:00
Speaker 3: Oh that's your bucks guy talking to it. But see their friends.

00:18:04
Speaker 4: I don't like Billy's starting to get that look he got last night when he needed to go outside for fresh air.

00:18:09
Speaker 5: That's what you.

00:18:10
Speaker 3: Look like before you slam down the restaurant. It's all right. See he would have come on, but he heard you turn us down.

00:18:17
Speaker 5: You asked him, and he said, you said, do you have a second? He said I might?

00:18:21
Speaker 3: He did say I might, chanton. That's a weird answer. Do you have a second? I might?

00:18:25
Speaker 2: Depends on who you are.

00:18:26
Speaker 3: Who's asking or did he say I could that made it sound does he want me to pay me?

00:18:30
Speaker 4: I don't know what?

00:18:31
Speaker 3: All right? Here? I got a twenty Cameron? Will you come on first?

00:18:34
Speaker 4: I respect Billy. When you have your rivals and you people aren't, you don't bend, You don't cave just because they're in front of you. You don't like him, you don't like.

00:18:40
Speaker 5: It unless you look like Jeff Saturday. You can put on a Colts jersey. I could see that as a Titans fan. But no, you gotta fine.

00:18:46
Speaker 3: You know what game. I'll tell you what, Billy, I'm declining.

00:18:50
Speaker 5: The anti we're anti Cameron.

00:18:52
Speaker 4: I hope they offer him you on like ESPN one Sunday. No, no decline. Can we get Billy for the first time ever?

00:18:59
Speaker 3: Are first ban from ks R is uh? Who is Ikey's camera on? George? Who's next?

00:19:06
Speaker 2: Wendo?

00:19:07
Speaker 3: Wendo? Go ahead?

00:19:08
Speaker 8: Wind Hey, greetings fellows, it's great to be on the show. It's been a wall since I've talked to you. I hope you're having fun out there in San Francisco.

00:19:16
Speaker 3: Thank you.

00:19:17
Speaker 8: My question is there's been a ton of earthquakes out that way in the last few days, a big swarm right there underneath San Francisco. Have you all felt any of them? Have you all been worried about it? And how's Billy dealt with shaking?

00:19:33
Speaker 3: Yeah? I've not felt any. Have you felt any? Yeah? I think I maybe they're used to it here, maybe it's built in, but I haven't felt I haven't felt any.

00:19:42
Speaker 4: I didn't heard a mention of it.

00:19:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, No, So I appreciate the call. I think, uh, you know they had the big one a while back and saying what is it? The San Andreas fault? Is that the name of the sounds right? Okay? Can't confirm you're still worked up about Cam?

00:20:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, right after he got his Gerald McCoy moment.

00:20:02
Speaker 3: I have to keep you do it for getting? Who's next to Jake? Jake? Go ahead, Jake, Jake.

00:20:13
Speaker 2: All right, let's try Mary, Mary.

00:20:15
Speaker 3: Go ahead, Mary.

00:20:18
Speaker 9: Yes, this is MB three of the UK insiders. I had to work this week, so today is the first time I've been able to ask this question or know the answer. So it may have been answered, But has there ever been three separate technicals within thirty eight seconds in a game like a curd of the Arkansas game. And secondly, I love san Fran and the Insiders are saying cast by seven.

00:20:44
Speaker 3: Can I ask you a question? Let me go back to a second. Let me go back to a second. You introduced yourself. What did you introduce yourself as?

00:20:49
Speaker 9: Mary NB three?

00:20:53
Speaker 3: I don't know what that means.

00:20:56
Speaker 9: Well, that's my code name MB three of the UK and Mary Beth Freeman.

00:21:01
Speaker 3: Actually, what's the UK Insiders.

00:21:06
Speaker 9: It's just a group of cronies here in Kentucky.

00:21:09
Speaker 3: There'd be cat Fan Okay, well MB three of the UK Insiders. That sounds like is it a show? Because it sounds like the name of a show.

00:21:17
Speaker 9: The UK Insiders, Well, it's not a show, trust me, but it cray Well.

00:21:25
Speaker 3: Maybe we will, maybe that'll be our next investment. Is MB three from the UK Insiders. To answer your question, I don't know of a game where one team has gotten three technicals in thirty eight seconds. I'm sure that there have been fights over the years Drew where there have been those amount of technicals, But to have three different incidents trigger a technical within thirty eight seconds, three different plays, I have to think that has almost never happened. Would you agree?

00:21:52
Speaker 4: Yeah, because usually after one, and certainly after two, you do something to make sure it stops. Either that ref that's been teeing them up goes to the other side of the court, separates himself from the coach, or you tell both coaches get your group together. I can't believe we've already had two. We got to have this discussion. So getting the third it was just way out of hand there in Arkansas last Saturday.

00:22:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, thank you very much. I don't know that it's never happened, but I don't know of it happening in my days.

00:22:18
Speaker 5: And you know, we've seen two Mark Pope technicals already this year.

00:22:22
Speaker 3: Did he kind of surprising? Yeah, kind of surprising that he's I mean, I sort of thought he might be a guy who never got technicals. Although I feel like they judge him on a different scale, you know what I mean. I feel like, if you are as good at guys he is, even a little screw up, get you a technical, whereas like John cal Perry or Mike Krzyzewski, those guys could just cuss early, cuss and hurley and like they don't give it to him. I feel like you get almost being a good guy almost hurts you a little bit because they're like, I do not expect that from you.

00:22:54
Speaker 4: Like Mark Raves raised his voice over there, do we need to get this under control?

00:22:57
Speaker 3: He must be upset. WHOA. I mean, I'm only kind of half kidding. I kind of think because you know, Dan Hurley fifty times a game says things as bad as Mark Pope did.

00:23:10
Speaker 4: Well, it's like fowls and teams of fell uh. They don't call them all. So you're just a team that fouls and hacks a lot. That was so when you're screaming a lot, I can't tee you up. Every seady Petino was at Louisville.

00:23:19
Speaker 3: He said his defensive philosophy, as we foul a lot because they can't call all of them, and so they got away with more because they just took the view that that's what they could do. So if you're just yelling the whole games right here, you want to ask.

00:23:32
Speaker 5: Him to come on, I'd love to ask man t there you go, all right.

00:23:35
Speaker 3: You have a job. We'll be right back. Sksrry TJ Smith personal injury attorney.

00:23:40
Speaker 5: Call TJ.

00:23:41
Speaker 2: He'll make them pay now.

00:23:43
Speaker 6: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

00:23:46
Speaker 2: Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:47
Speaker 3: Welcome back to Tekee Sports Radio. It is the Whiskey Thief takeover Franklin County and the Louisville Tasting Room. Single barrel bourbons and whiskeys, and you can get them right out of the barrel. Shannon, we just had a objectively all right, I like to kind of make fun of all these players walking around. This was very cool during that break standing what drew within ten feet of us?

00:24:09
Speaker 4: We're kind of even brush and shoulder.

00:24:12
Speaker 3: Within ten feet of us at the exact same moment were Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, and Luke Kitely.

00:24:23
Speaker 2: A lot of talent right there.

00:24:25
Speaker 3: Right there next to us. Bo Jackson is right there, right now. That is Bo Jackson. Do you know that I didn't know he was still doing I mean, for people our age who was cooler than Bo Jackson.

00:24:39
Speaker 2: I could hear seak it out during the break.

00:24:43
Speaker 3: Like Barry, Barry Sanders and Drew Brees. But that's Bo Jackson.

00:24:50
Speaker 4: The like that's not someone we see a lot.

00:24:54
Speaker 3: Keeps a low profile and you don't see you do not see him there he is That's a legend. I mean game a legends when I was a kid, The thing where he had the bat on his arm, the picture pads and his shirt off, Shannon, that was the coolest picture of all times.

00:25:09
Speaker 2: Yell over there and see if he'll come on the show.

00:25:11
Speaker 3: Well, he's doing television right now. He's sitting next to Seth Rock. What about Barry Sanders and Kem Jordan, Barry jo Barry Sanders is about to go on. I try. No one wants to come.

00:25:23
Speaker 4: So we're like their their lounge. We're sitting where they were waiting to go on there.

00:25:27
Speaker 3: We're kind of in the NFL since we're an NFL podcast, we are in the NFL TV lounge, so like they come in here to wait to go on the NFL network. But but if we could get Bo Jackson after after the other guy turns his down.

00:25:42
Speaker 4: I mean, we're here with credentials. Why don't we just lie to him? No, No, you're not on set your audio only for this one. We try to lie to them like they're supposed to be here.

00:25:50
Speaker 3: With them technically with the NFL. Yeah, look at Billy's hat. Billy, that's Bo Jackson.

00:25:56
Speaker 5: I'm a little starstruck the last five minutes we're inside and rich Gannon rich Gannon Law.

00:26:00
Speaker 3: I didn't mention rich Gannon. I didn't even get to him. I'm trying to think athletes of my youth that would make me have that reaction would be maybe King, Griffy Jr.

00:26:19
Speaker 2: Dion.

00:26:21
Speaker 3: Well, but Dion's been so overexposed in recent years. I think you're right. I think it's the fact that we don't see him much that makes that kind of cool, you know what I mean.

00:26:31
Speaker 4: And just yesterday, one of our NFL bosses was telling us, like he doesn't really get into NFL stuff because he works here. But he's like, but I love bo Jackson. I wish you were here right now with us.

00:26:40
Speaker 3: In the nineties, who would that cool athletes have been? Shannon King, Griffy, bo Jackson, and Michael Jordan. Wouldn't that have been the three cool athletes?

00:26:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, but again I say Dion because Dion was a multi sport athlete.

00:26:51
Speaker 2: He was, so I would throw him in there.

00:26:55
Speaker 5: Those four were probably also.

00:26:57
Speaker 4: Remember Mario asked Larry Fitzgerald to take our picture Scottsdale. We should have been like, hey, we can't find Mario will you social media for us Ario.

00:27:05
Speaker 3: We're still not on the building yet, potentially at the police department. Tried to get his credential. Who's next, Steve, Steve, go ahead, Steve.

00:27:13
Speaker 10: Hey, guys, I haven't heard anything about the recruiting, you know, when Jaymi was having all that backlash about whatever the contractual provisions were that were causing problems with Stokes and Collins. So I was wondering if you guys had heard anything, because usually when commit you know, recruitments go bad, they turn around and they commit to a different school. That hasn't happened yet. So I'm just curious if you're all holding any hope that we may sign one or both of those two, uh people. I guess with the with the whole kids.

00:27:48
Speaker 3: I mean, I guess I'm holding I appreciate the call a tiny bit of hope, but I wouldn't say, Drew, I'm holding a lot of hope of getting either of those guys.

00:27:57
Speaker 4: No, I would love to be surprised. This looks like a year where it's gonna be mostly returners in Portal. I don't know how many high school kids are even out there still to go get well.

00:28:06
Speaker 5: Rick Patino said he wasn't recruiting high school kids a couple of years ago. He's since changed that a little bit. Is that notion still stand or do you still want?

00:28:14
Speaker 3: I mean, Kentucky cannot with a straight face the basketball program make the argument that they're not recruiting high school kids. They recruited all these guys there and a couple of them. They were the leader with Christian Collins and Stokes like they were the leader. So they cannot with a straight face say we did not want to recruit high school kids. They if they don't get these guys again, this is an off season conversation in my opinion, But I'm you know, if they don't get those guys, there have to be a serious conversation about why that happened. Did it happen because Mark Pope can't recruit those guys? Did it happen because of the JMI contract situation. Did it happen because these dudes are asking for so much money and we don't want to spend it. I don't know what the answer is, but and maybe it's a combination of all these, but there needs to be an answer because this is Kentucky and we are going to get none of the top players, most likely none, and two of them are from Kentucky, by the way, and two of them lived here. Okay, we're gonna get none of them. And by the way, the other power programs are all getting guys. So it's not like a philosophical sea change where now all these dudes are going to Iowa State. These dudes are going to Kansas Duke, North Carolina. They're just not coming here. And so why that happens has to be a serious conversation, and it cannot be Mark just saying everyone is special, Like, there has to be an explanation as to why that is. It's probably an offseason conversation, but it is gonna be one we're gonna have to have.

00:29:46
Speaker 4: Yeah, we were mentioning Kayleb Wilson earlier in the show, like twenty four hours before he committed North Carolina. It looked like he was committing to Kentucky. Remember last year they were like, what's your dream top five in college? He's like, man, I would love to play with Jasper Johnson Malacamor And occasionally they just named UK's freshman class and then you lose them in the final hour. So we'll learn more about the Nile situation stuff. But I think it's very obvious that the closing is already an issue because they've been all the way to the last step with a lot of players and none of them ended up signing.

00:30:14
Speaker 3: Uh. I got a message from the mayor's office that said the city did not refuse state help with Rhodes. It was a misunderstanding. Apparently the mayor would never refuse state help. So maybe that's breaking news here on KSR that may Yeah, that makes it makes it even even in more more odd that Andy would say that yesterday, right, Yeah, Andy versus Linda Gordon in the square circle. That's it's a weird matchup, one that we did never expect. Got Seth Rowlins and Bo Jackson right there. They could be the special guest referees if they want. Who's up next, Isaac, Isaac, go ahead, Isaac.

00:30:56
Speaker 11: Hey.

00:30:57
Speaker 3: Harry Sanders is so little, like look how little Berry say.

00:31:02
Speaker 4: He's also just dressed like everyone's like an older man, like shirt tuck button up, tucked in.

00:31:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he's dressed like he's dressed like Larry dresses to go short. But like that was like the best, Like that was the best running back of all time, and like he's wearing dad jeans. He looks like he's somebody's proud dad watching him here.

00:31:20
Speaker 4: He's like just smiling.

00:31:21
Speaker 3: I've so much Bo Jackson are about to shake hands, Like this is like running. I'm getting a loyalty right here. You've got Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson are about to embrace right in front of us. And where's Mariot.

00:31:36
Speaker 4: The police station?

00:31:38
Speaker 3: I mean, this is a crazy right, sir. I'm sorry, but you have to understand we're right in front of us. Is Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson? Go ahead?

00:31:46
Speaker 11: No, I'll be in the same boat as I'm extremely jealous you are right now. But I hope you're having a good time. I've been thinking about Brandon Garrison and all the technical he gets and how often he's just like ready to fly at any get a moment. So I was trying to think, you think of any Kentucky players in history that you would want to go into a fight with, like they're going to be the guy that's right next to you in a fight.

00:32:07
Speaker 8: Who would it be?

00:32:09
Speaker 3: It's a great question before I do it. There it is. They're hooking. They adapt they adapt, they adapt. I appreciate the call. Look at that.

00:32:19
Speaker 4: I got an amazing video. I'm selling that to TMZ right now.

00:32:22
Speaker 3: I mean, Shannon, they're talking right now. Look at this. He's got his arm on his shoulder.

00:32:27
Speaker 5: The way Kyle brand his arm is on his shoulder.

00:32:30
Speaker 3: Look at that. Wow, that is Cam Jordan's.

00:32:38
Speaker 4: That was a running back.

00:32:42
Speaker 3: In the picture.

00:32:43
Speaker 4: Angry runs Sanders.

00:32:45
Speaker 3: Okay, they look they're talking. What do we think they're talking about? Hey, Bo, how you doing? Barry?

00:32:51
Speaker 4: These kids today?

00:32:52
Speaker 3: That's right? They can't run his fat This is incredible.

00:32:56
Speaker 4: Hey, I can't get over how much of just a proud dad.

00:32:58
Speaker 5: He looks like he's just happy to be sorry that he's going to church.

00:33:01
Speaker 3: That was cool. Forget it like that that those Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson there talking. It's like, we're there, We're right here, we're right here. You could give Barry Sanders into men. Don't do that.

00:33:16
Speaker 4: We need Dereck Henry to walk in. Sh I go check the bathroom.

00:33:20
Speaker 2: Does he who Barry Sanders?

00:33:23
Speaker 6: Yeah, no, he's got he's got.

00:33:24
Speaker 4: A little bit.

00:33:27
Speaker 5: But doesn't he two guys forced to retire in there?

00:33:31
Speaker 3: I will say, though he is dressed. I think even I am dressed Barry better than Barry.

00:33:36
Speaker 4: Barry is an older mon so Allen. For any UK football fans that liked Turtle, it looks a lot like him.

00:33:42
Speaker 3: Wow, all right? What was the guy's question I got? I asked who we would want to go and fight with? Easy, easy answer for me. If I could have any UK player to h in a fight with me, I would go with Jamal Mgore.

00:33:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, Jamal is good. I'm thinking as much as about a Legan. Some of those guys coming to mind. I need a center with some reach. Mcglore fits that mold. I'll say Brandon Garrison to just stick with you know ten and oh when he gets worked up in games.

00:34:10
Speaker 3: I think I like Brandon. I think Brandon's a lot of Well, if.

00:34:14
Speaker 4: We're doing like our ratings, his crazy level like his his that's his nut give a blank is higher than anyone says you.

00:34:22
Speaker 3: Don't want to fight crazy? Yeah so yeah, that maybe so. But mcglare was crazy to he was mcglore. I'm I'm taking mcglore. I'll tell you a sneaky one. Lance where Lance, how about Lance? Say Cousins, Well, that's a good one too, you know, I feel like cousins though at the end of the day, didn't want to get hit.

00:34:44
Speaker 4: Can't mess that up. Yeah, I mean, he did use Jared Swapshire's face as an arm rest in the in the Louisville game.

00:34:49
Speaker 3: That's true. But that was that's that's a good list and that was a cool.

00:34:54
Speaker 5: Event's got us geeking out. He got photos of us taking photos.

00:34:58
Speaker 3: Look at us, look at me, And that's a great picture of us geeking out. That picture of all of us geeking out right there, that's kind of cool. Thank you to Vince for doing that. Speaker 2: What was your moment?

00:35:45
Speaker 3: Seth Rollins just told me you recognize me from Wrestlution. You said, aren't you Billy? He said, aren't you the guy that said aren't you the guy that was in Wrestlers? And I was like, yes, I am, Seth. At least we know the guys that I'm the guy that had the seizure.

00:36:06
Speaker 4: You didn't lead with that, did you?

00:36:09
Speaker 3: The first thing? I said, you're feeling all right? No? Yeah, that was kind of cool.

00:36:16
Speaker 5: You've gotten that a few times this week, right.

00:36:18
Speaker 3: Crazy probably gotten it more this week than I've gotten it since the show came out, like since the early few weeks of the show.

00:36:24
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, bring some wrestlers.

00:36:27
Speaker 4: Yeah, you're the guy from the You're very red right now.

00:36:30
Speaker 3: Mean, that was kind of come on. I've been I've been in those wrestling locker rooms. I didn't they don't know me.

00:36:37
Speaker 4: I'm just telling you, welcome to the club. Billy met Gerald McCoy, I met parts of Derrick Henry and then met cal Brant and now you're having your moment. Mario met Stitch.

00:36:45
Speaker 3: It's just weird to think about it. It's just weird to think that, like they watched that show. Like it doesn't feel you know, it doesn't feel real.

00:36:53
Speaker 4: They have Netflix accounts just like us.

00:36:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, people, celebrities, they're just like us. It was up next, shit, Daniel. Daniel. By the way, the new denim uniforms are out. You like them? Do do? Looking? Uh?

00:37:08
Speaker 4: Pretty much exactly like the old ones. I love the they do that different UK logo. It's like the throwback. I don't know how to de scribe it. I got the little basketball in there on the shorts. I love them.

00:37:17
Speaker 3: Yep.

00:37:17
Speaker 4: I can get my hands on something.

00:37:18
Speaker 3: I hope so too. I like them. Then they look like we wanted them to, right with the I think that was exactly what they weren't ninety yep.

00:37:25
Speaker 5: And maybe they'll break out the all blue another time. But these look look great, look.

00:37:28
Speaker 3: Great, right, go ahead, Daniel.

00:37:31
Speaker 12: Hey, Matt, the other day you talked about outdoor hockey. Seventy five thousand hockey fans for Michigan State at Penn State last weekend. It built the hockey arena inside the football stadium at Penn State.

00:37:43
Speaker 8: That's a lot of people got it.

00:37:47
Speaker 3: It was crazy. It was crazy. See all those people and it was freezing cold. It was that. That was a very cool visual. We talked about it on the show, and I love moments like that. That's the kind of thing I would have loved to have been able to go to.

00:38:00
Speaker 12: Yeah, me too, I should have went. It's only like an hour from where I live. Well, hopefully they'll have it again next year and I can try again. My other question is, could you guys just comment on lebronze shoes that he wore in last night's game?

00:38:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, or appreciate it called lebron were custom UK lebron twenty three shoes with the UK logo on it last night for the Lakers game. That's got That's an awesome surprise, right.

00:38:24
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's cool. That's real, recognizing real. As I've said before, and I'll say again.

00:38:30
Speaker 4: How about we don't say it again.

00:38:31
Speaker 3: That was That was the widest thing ever.

00:38:34
Speaker 5: Let's just remember who won the football?

00:38:36
Speaker 3: That was the widest. That was real, real, like literally, have.

00:38:44
Speaker 5: You ever thrown a football before?

00:38:46
Speaker 3: Don't deflect from what just happened. Listen, you won the first of all, you won the football thing. Let's not act like your form was amazing.

00:38:53
Speaker 5: Oh, come on, come on.

00:38:54
Speaker 3: Secondly, the first forty didn't go. It has nothing to do with that was real recognizing there's that one guy. You know who that is? That's the agent. When when I was a kid in the eighties, all the quarterbacks, he would be the agent. Lee, Yeah, Lee, I think his name Channon. You remember that guy Lee Steinberg, Montana's agent. I think that's that guy. Uh Mark Duns. Who's next.

00:39:20
Speaker 2: Let's go to Jake.

00:39:22
Speaker 3: Sure has Jake?

00:39:24
Speaker 13: Go ahead, Jake, Hey, good morning, guys, forgive me good morning. I already covered this in hour one, but mal Chai Marino seeded a few hours ago kind of clamoring for a white out this Saturday, and so I shared it on cash Foard just kind of get some crashing and share the word a little bit. I think nothing of it. Come back two hours later and I see that apparently fans have bullied him out of taking down the tweets sightings at were Kentucky and we don't do that, Like where are the rules of a DNC double A And to say that blue.

00:40:00
Speaker 3: Well, first of all, nobody gets to say, like the fan like fans don't get to say we're Kentucky. We don't do it. A white out would be awesome, So yes, if if I mean, I don't know if it's happening or not, but if it is happening, it would be awesome. And they don't get to say that it's not awesome. So if you know, I don't know, if I don't know if the Techy's gonna do a white out or not. If they're gonna do it, they need to announce it this afternoon so fans have time to kind of to know and get it out. But i'd before it. Kentucky's not above a white out. Kentucky's the only thing we're above is storming the floor. But a wide out is cool. And we've done it in our history. So anybody that says we've never done it, they don't know what they're talking about. We've done it a number of times in our history, right, So yeah, I appreciate it all. Do you agree with that? Do?

00:40:47
Speaker 4: I don't know. It's it's fun, that's part of it.

00:40:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's fun. Fun is like this is supposed to be fun.

00:40:53
Speaker 4: But he did mention Malachai did delete the tweet. I just looked. I don't know why we're backing out of the white out. Well, or it might have been the UK and we're doing it one later, I don't know.

00:41:01
Speaker 3: It may have been UK was like, well, we're not doing that, so why don't you take that down? Because because we're not doing it.

00:41:08
Speaker 4: Well, it does take the collective effort, like one player saying it isn't enough. It's got to be he's behind it. Emails need to go out, he needs to be on the ticket, like you really got to organize it.

00:41:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Kentucky and Tennessee, do we know what the spread is? I'm gonna guess Kentucky by I'm gonna say, well, Kentucky boy like.

00:41:25
Speaker 4: One and a half, exactly what I was gonna say.

00:41:27
Speaker 3: Is it Kentucky one and a half.

00:41:29
Speaker 4: Let's see if we have one yet?

00:41:30
Speaker 3: All right, while you're looking, you go to DraftKings. Bet five. You can win three hundred dollars at Draft Kings.

00:41:37
Speaker 4: Look at us knowing ball?

00:41:38
Speaker 3: Is it one and a half? Look at d K ambassadors there getting it right? One and a half feels right?

00:41:45
Speaker 6: Uh.

00:41:46
Speaker 3: Our pregame show will start tomorrow at six. Uh. They'll be live from ks Bar, Cats and the Balls. Shannon, I'll let you go first. What do you think is gonna happen.

00:41:55
Speaker 6: I think it's gonna be a good game, but I think Kentucky pulls it out in the end.

00:41:58
Speaker 2: So give me Kentucky, Kentucky, We'll score. We'll go seventy eight seventy five.

00:42:06
Speaker 5: All right, Billy, I'm gonna go Kentucky too. I think they sweep them in the regular season like last year. I'm gonna go Kentucky eighty two, Tennessee seventy eight.

00:42:15
Speaker 4: I think we'll be in for a little rock fight in Kentucky pools away at the very end to win seventy seven seventy one. But you but it's much closer the rest of the way before a little separate.

00:42:26
Speaker 3: Our mind was melded right there. I initially picked Tennessee, but I can't go into Kentucky Tennessee game picking Tennessee for the second time in the year. So I'm gonna go Kentucky seventy six seventy one, and I'll get the Cats winning. So there we go. How about that Mario's out on the street. They will not let him in. He's looking through the window like a little child. They'll never be a show that had more Hall of famers. If not on Walking By, we had sightings on a radio show. So hey, it's been fun this week. Hopefully we will talk. We will talk to you all tomorrow sorrow. We got our final cover zero today as well. Thank you for joining us all week. This has been ks R Live at the super Bowl.
