So how did the White Sox get him? What was the Were you in on the pitches? Were you in there saying, hey, I played in Japan. I know a little bit about the culture. Maybe you speak a little bit of Japanese. You did go to you did go to Harvard, right.

And yeah, I think it's just, you know, great that we were able to get them. We know that this guy's a special player, special talent, and you know, I couldn't tell you the first thing about free agent markets or anything like that.

Just something you need to see in spring training because you can kind of get a facade of spring training when you know each Row first came over, he hit like one eighty in spring and everyone's like, this is going to be a bust.

We just want to help support him, you know, in his practice and make sure that you know, he's you know, feeling comfortable that that he's really engaging with our coaches and getting what he needs to just practice well and see how we respond from there. And again, you know, this guy is very driven to be at his best and feel really confident with with Derek Showman and Joel McKeith and and our hitting department that that we can support him and just through training, we hope to clean up some of the stuff, you know that that really can can help him be an elite hitter in this league.

But we know that if we want to continue that momentum, we really have to start at zero and build habits around the things that we know are going to help us win. And that's you know, things in the weight room, the things in the training room, are the things in our preparation, and then the really core details on the field that we just want to build really good habits around. And so we think that if that's our focus on a daily basis, you know, we're able to be able to create the momentum, were able to create an environment and some some routines and some daily habits in which our players can continue to take that next step and and really grow as a group and turn.

Of course he can hit against righty two, but you know there's going to be passed to get both of those guys in the lineup. And certainly, you know, Edgar is someone that we value and we know that we're better when he's on the field.

I really appreciated his transparency and his honesty with me. So you know, had Dave Roberts, you know, as a coach and a manager, was the same kind of guy. And so for me, you know, I understand the value as a player and what that means, and so I try and give these guys as much as we can and just you know, be transparent, be honest about their situation. You will provide clarity around their roles, and I think guys appreciate it. And you know, this game is tough and there's a lot of opportunity to think about different things in your mind can go a million different places. We just want to give these guys some honest feedback, some guardrails to keep.

You know, we're playing the Yankees and judges coming up in the eighth and we got a one run lead, that that might be Sir Anthony's time to pitch a little sooner in the game. But we view him as a closer and just feel really good about what he provides at the back end, not only in his performance, but how that slots in, you know, Grant Taylor, Jordan Leisure and the rest of the guys back there that we depended on. Lates just a really nice job of kind of slotting guys into better.
