Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous, Welcome to the bonus episode of the Give Them La La Podcast. We are still on Oscar fever and all the looks. I wrote in on the Give Them La La pod Instagram page and wanted to know all of your thoughts, what you thought about the looks or moments, and you guys, you guys certainly came with some great moments and actually filled me in on some things that happened. Because I have add and and I zone out sometimes, especially when I have to do two things at once. Because Lisa got large number rummy cube, so I was playing that with her and it was background noise for a moment. But there were some things that you guys wrote in and I was like, wow, okay, so I did catch the best of the best moments. How do you feel Easton you were next door?

Speaker 2: Yeah, I had it on. I mean I saw like pretty much the ending, like with all the you know, big awards like Best Picture and all that. Yeah, but in the middle, now, I didn't really catch a lot. Yeah.

Speaker 1: I tell me, well, it sounds like we are gonna have a meeting of the minds because you caught the parts that I didn't perfect. Yeah, I love that. So the first thing that you guys brought up was Zoe Zaldana's speech totally amazing. Did you watch that?

Speaker 2: No? But I did. I mean I saw a lot of things on it.

Speaker 1: So I'm obsessed with her because she's so authentically her. There were moments that like during her speech and actually during like after she received her oscar backstage, during her interview, where I'm like, you are an actress, but you're so authentically you even off screen because during her speech, her speech wasn't credible.

Speaker 1: No, okay, But the way that she would get when she would cry, I immediately pictured in her role of Avatar, and I'm like, wow, you are just like you are who you are and absolutely like during So it's Sanford Meisner. It's method acting. Not saying that that's who she studied, but it's a method of acting where like you tap into if you're playing a role where like your mom passes away and let's just say your mom has passed away, you tap into that. Yes, So not saying that it has to be absolutely paralleled, but you go into a state of actually feeling those emotions. And when she would cry during her speech and like her mom, and she talked about being from parents who came to this kind of and you know her grandmother. She paid homage to her during her speech, but she would get emotional and hit those that pitch like she would do in Avatar. And I watched those videos where she has like the nodes on her when she's doing avatar, right, and you know when you see something you can't unsee.

Speaker 1: That's all I could see. It was so moving, so incredible, and she was so fucking excited and she thinks, so her husband is fine, and he's got a head of hair on him. She goes and to my husband, my husband, my life partner, and that gorgeous hair. She was like, and our our beautiful sons. And I was like the fact that she's talking about her husband but also brought the hair into it is just top tier.

Speaker 1: So a man who just stands by his woman. And they made like by the way her children are copy and paste her, just like these beautiful boys with the long hair. And I'm like, that's the goal, right where your man sits back and watches you accept a fucking Oscar the highest of high awards and acknowledgment when it comes to your craft, right yes, and to the world you're this incredible actress that at home with your sons, Like they just think that that's like your job, but they don't care. They're like, where's my fruit snack?

Speaker 2: Right? They issue out of all of it, all of it. I know, I was just paid. I mean I was just picturing myself in that world, Like how crazy and how I don't know how proud you would just be like looking at her in a sense like I'm putting myself in his shoes, you know, yeah, and just like because I know she looks at him the same way with just the hair comment and speech. But I it's just it is it's crazy to think about, like the life at home home as well, and like just all of that.

Speaker 1: Well, I think everyone knows that time passes and things fade, and in this moment you have won an Oscar and it's amazing and everyone knows for that night, but time passes and then you sit there and you're like, did that person win an Oscar for that? And then you go back and google whatever. Everyone knows how life works, But what is a constant and what's going to be the things that you truly remember are the times that are real that you can touch and hold on to, and they last forever. Your children never go away. You watch them. Time passes, but you watch them grow and turn into their own people. Whereas standing on stage and accepting an oscar, you have that memory, but like it's that memory and then it's done. It doesn't evolve into something else.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like you would have more memories of putting that trophy on your mantle and like looking at it with your kids. That's the timeless, like that you will never forget, Like you forget about your speech. You're going to forget about all that. But every time you look at that like monumental moment in your life. I feel like she will trace that back to like her looking at it with her kids and her husband in the same way. Yeah, and all of that.

Speaker 1: But she is dissipated, right she and she did talk about that. She goes she was being interviewed and the woman asked, what are you going to do tonight? And she goes, well, I absolutely have to go out and celebrate. She talks about how she's more of a homebody, but tonight, you know, we have to celebrate this when she said, my kids are at the hotel, so we need to go back and have this moment and celebrate with them. But she said, and then we're going to go out. But I thought that was so cute. Yeah, you know, and her kids are going to look at that and think like, that's so amazing. They won't understand until they're older, what a huge fucking deal that is.

Speaker 1: Yeah, so that one did stick in my mind as well. I'm happy that this person wrote in Adam Sandler is iconic. Did you see his It's kind of at the beginning, so you probably missed it, didn't. He shows up in like a blue what we would probably what everyone probably wanted to wear to the Oscars.

Speaker 1: Yeah, like Conan O'Brien. It's obviously a bit, but he says he looks like a guy who's playing like late night poker, you know, and he's in this like blue hoodie and he nailed it.

Speaker 1: Then he calls out Conan and he's like, no one would have noticed what I'm wearing, but he's in his Adam Sandler voice right unless you pointed it out, and then talks about how he's gonna go play five on five basketball later and where to meet and who's on his team, and he starts talking about like what movies he calls like the director of this movie whatever. But right before he leaves, because remember he had that bit at the Golden Globes, Yes, right before he leaves, he rolls up on Timothy shallow May, gives him a how he goes.

Speaker 1: I'm sure we returned, but it was a really cute and funny bit. It was things like that where it's like, Okay, we're livening it up a bit. We are poking fun at the facts. So tight, yes, we are going to poke fun at the fact that, yeah, we probably do all want to be in sweatpants. Maybe not everybody. I think some people thoroughly enjoy.

Speaker 1: I feel like there was a point in time I remember really loving when the clock hit a certain hour because I was like, I can start getting ready and painting my face and putting on my cue outfit and feeling like myself and I don't know if that time will ever come again. And I talk about, well, I feel like.

Speaker 2: You're just in a time right now where you don't see it happening soon. But your kids are going to get older, You're going to have events, and you're going to have that again.

Speaker 1: Yeah, And they're like, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. And I do have to remind myself that I'm six months postpartum, which is not that long, and my day starts at latest six thirty in the morning, and I keep saying, like I'm gonna get my Lala back. I'm not gonna want people to, you know, be quiet at ten thirty, where I'm like trying to go to bed like I will. But even now, I said to myself and I'm a virgo, remember like I'm gonna start dating in twenty twenty five. We are three months in and I'm like, I just don't have the desire yea. And it literally takes another person to say, why would you be in the mood You have two small children, one of which is six months old. That's an exhausting thing.

And I get that you want to go out and you know, start being lala again, But those things will come right now. You're a mom to a six month old. Yeah what at what point would you be even And I know you and the virgo in you. If you were to go out and do anything, you would feel bad about leaving your child at home.

And people will say, but we're going on at this time, so they won't know you're gone, and it's like, well, at this point in time, I know I'm gone. I know that I'm gone. I want to know that I'm the one watching the monitor. I want to know that if Ocean decides to get out of her bed and she goes up to mom's room, that I'm in there.

Speaker 1: Grammys are fun. I really love it. This person love the Gigly squad page. Desorbo who's on Summer House. Hannah Berner was on Summer House and then she went on to Blow Up. Had a Netflix special. She's a comedian. They hosted the Vanity Fair Red Carpet. I did not see that, So this morning I went back when I saw this and watched some clips. I thought they were funny, they looked great. I thought that they interviewed perfectly, absolutely, especially when you take like I'm sure that they're used to interviewing people. They have a podcast and it's a very very well known, high level podcast. They go out on tour and sell out, you know, three thousand seat venues. But when you're placing this situation with the aest of a list celebrities where you're interviewing them on the biggest night in Hollywood, biggest party in Hollywood during award season, Like that's nerve wracking.

Speaker 1: I think you have to go in with no notes. The notes would fuck with you. I think you hit some you, I think you write them down to make yourself feel better. Yes, but if you think about it, when we have people on the podcast and we're like so into our bullet points, what we're going to talk about. In reality, when you go into a conversation, do you go in with bullet points when you're like, let's go to dinner.

Yeah, yeah, we have bullet points, we maybe get through ten percent of them. Yeah, it's because it's so free flowing. And that's how I feel like you would have to be and yes, going with bullet points of this, that and the other to just you know, bounce. But I couldn't imagine going to a red carpet talking to them yeah live yeah, and not asking something that would make them uncomfortable. Like that is my biggest fear is I knowing that and now you're live. Hats off to them. I'm I loved you've shown me and like when we talked about it, I went back and saw it and like just reviewed it.

Speaker 1: The thing that's great about them is they obviously are friends. But you've got Hannah who's clearly a comedian. That's like her gift, right, She's just funny. Page is funny without knowing it. Maybe she knows it, but it's like it's not in a comedic way, it's just funny. Yes, And then she's so hardcore fashion girly. So when you bring the two of them together, you do have the contrast, but they compliment each other so well. And I think having a partner in crime to go and interview, they can pick up the slack. If you say something silly, the other one can buffer for you. And I love that having that. Well, yeah, love a safety net.

I don't need you to spill anything on here to get a headline. Like, I literally would be so bad at that job because I would keep it so surface, middle of the road. I don't want to offend you. I don't want to throw you off your game.

Her first one, like we said on the regular episode, was mumeu, and then she changed into it was a black look, but it was like nude and then like a Lacey moment happening up top. I thought she looked I thought classic. I wonder if she gets she's Kylie Jenner. But I have to assume that there's always moments of feeling a tad nervous when you go into a room with such high level talent. Not saying she's not talented, because I couldn't create a beauty company that's worth a billion dollars, Like, no matter where you come from, whether your family you know, had its boots on the ground, like it's up to you to keep something successful.

And yes, you built, you know, an empire, a billion dollar empire, and I think you still get you take hits like ego hits when you're in that room. She's got like a short, little half up do going, But I think that's who I would have chosen to wear. I also really loved Lily Rose depths outfit for the Oscars. Didn't love what she wore to the Vanity Fair party, but I loved her little number on the red cart it. You know what I'm talking about?

Speaker 1: Right, And that's usually how the oscars go. And I just I don't see it winning next year Wicked like whenever they not. I don't know when they're releasing the sequel, but I just don't know that it'll.

A lot of people who were on Wicked may not be on Wickeds Too, or whatever they choose to call it, and you're taking that away from, you know, hard working people who were behind the scenes, right, And that's where I'm like, if that is the case, I just don't see it happening.

And I like Mikey Madison, who is the main character in Anora, and I'm familiar with her because I used to watch a show called Better Things on Fox and it was about a single mom with four children. She was in Hollywood, living in LA raising four girls, and I just liked it because it was a show where you felt like you were a fly on the wall and I love that relatable as fuck.
