00:00:08 Speaker 1: Here's Bob Nightingale. Let's talk about it, Bob with us right now. We appreciate the time. Is always good to see you, Bob. And you kind of nailed it the other day when you were talking about the possibility of the Tigers and from Ribaldez and how that would be a pretty beautiful marriage for a team that really needs to push their chips in this year. 00:00:23 Speaker 2: So can you elaborate? 00:00:24 Speaker 1: And I'm guessing you weren't surprised necessarily to see them land him, were you? 00:00:30 Speaker 3: And I still thought you go to Baltimorials. I think Doyls really need them. But that was a very smart and the Tiger's part, like okay, and we know they're not going to, you know, re sign Trek's Scuball and now they have the race set up and the things go aside aways this summer. You know it couldn't move them, but you know things would have to go really bad. I love them move I just thought I was being a aggressive and now they got their guy to replace Cherk's Scuball for you know, next year. 00:00:56 Speaker 1: What did you think about the timing, Bob, where you have the Trek Schoogle case looming by the time many people watch this will have an answer on the schoopl case. So the arbitration hearing had already happened, and now the decision usually comes about twenty four hours later. So did you think there was anything to that with them signing from her after the sides already exchanged their arguments, or it was completely coincidental that finally on February fourth in the evening, Framberg gets the offer that he wants. 00:01:29 Speaker 4: I think it's just a straight coincidence. I really do. 00:01:31 Speaker 3: And you know, I think they've been working on this for a while, very quiet, So okay, we got to have a got a replace Scooble at some point. So no, I just think, you know, worse comes to worse. They'rebout thirteen million dollars, but you know they do have the race for twenty twenty seven and maybe twenty twenty eight. 00:01:48 Speaker 4: Too, So no, I just think as a coincidence, I really do. 00:01:53 Speaker 5: You mentioned the Orioles before is where he thought he was going to land. Any inclination of if they were going you know, maybe longer term obviously lower A a V, or if there was like a level that they were just like, we're not going over. 00:02:09 Speaker 3: I think they were gonna go short term as well. I mean, they did offer five years for Ranger Swarez. Uh, but I think in this case teams were kind of back and off a little bit like, Okay, he's thrown a lot of innings, but what in her nine innings the last four years? 00:02:24 Speaker 6: Uh? 00:02:24 Speaker 3: Do we have some concerns about the arm So I don't think he was going to get a long term deal. 00:02:29 Speaker 7: Uh. 00:02:29 Speaker 3: I think everybody you talk to, you we're talking about short term. 00:02:33 Speaker 4: So even though he wanted, you know, the only. 00:02:35 Speaker 3: Sea stock contract seven and you know to ten, it wasn't gonna. 00:02:38 Speaker 5: Happen based on you just said Ranger Suarez too. What do you think is a bigger miss for the Orioles? The the fact that oh the crime dog McGriff, what's up? Guess the biggest the biggest smile? 00:02:57 Speaker 7: Tell fred? I said, hello, Fred, I owe you man. 00:03:04 Speaker 4: I couldn't take care of yet the All Star Game last year. So once Bob told me he was. 00:03:09 Speaker 7: Coming home, like I gotta break in, I got it because dog man, oh listen, you owe me around to go forget this. I need to get over to when I'm in Tampa. I'm gonna need to hit you up for like om or somewhere nice. So just know that call is coming. 00:03:25 Speaker 6: That's the deal. 00:03:26 Speaker 4: I you. 00:03:30 Speaker 5: Drop in by Fred McGriff who everybody's listening, everybody's watching obviously, by the way, yeah yeah, easily the greatest smile on the game. But anyway, my question was My question was who do the Orioles miss on bigger not signing Ranger or not signing Framber, Because in my opinion, I think there is there is a bigger there's a bigger miss based on how I think it would fit into their rotation. 00:03:55 Speaker 4: I think bigger miss on Framber, I really do. 00:03:57 Speaker 3: I thought he was the best free agent starter on the uh, you know, even more than a Cease. So you know, I'm stunning it. Get one of those two guys, and now you got to wonder. I know they've talked to Zach Gollan. You know, Zach Gowan would make perfect sense too. He does have a qualifying offer attached to him, So we'll see if they go that route. 00:04:16 Speaker 7: Bob, we talked about it yesterday and tell me that we were crazy. Where were the Pittsburgh Pirates on this? Were they close? Because every big free agent we keep hearing, Oh, they're aggressively pursuing Kyle Schwarber, They're progressively pursuing Trek Schouoble arbitration wise, they're you know, aggressively pursuing Dylan Sees from Raveled as Pete Alonso, name every free agent. But they never get to that point right where they're actually are they. I mean, they might be in the running, but they've never gotten to the point where like, hey, we're really close to getting this guy. 00:04:49 Speaker 4: It's almost like together the Tigers went on the radar. 00:04:51 Speaker 3: It seems like, you really want a guy, you don't publicize it. 00:04:54 Speaker 4: So I'm with you. 00:04:55 Speaker 3: It was like, you know, they want to tell everybody, hey we tried, we you know, missed out, we got this, but you know they end. 00:05:01 Speaker 4: Up doing anything with it. You're gonna talk to a couple. 00:05:03 Speaker 3: Of gms the in other day and they said, how about the Pirates. I say, you know, the Pirates always going to you know, talk about it, but they don't do it. 00:05:10 Speaker 4: They don't take that next step. 00:05:12 Speaker 3: So I think it was just more of a well, you know, pr type thing, Bob. 00:05:17 Speaker 5: Have the Tigers over extended themselves? Have they just completely maxed out? Their budget by signing for Amber Valdez. 00:05:25 Speaker 3: Well, I think they thought, you know what it It's almost like to Toronto Blue Jays, you see how much money you're gonna make. 00:05:32 Speaker 4: I think he's gonna boost US season ticket sales. 00:05:34 Speaker 3: I think now the fans are excited, like, Okay, you know, we make a lot of noise for the last couple of years. You know, why not us? Why why can't we get to the World Series? And I think it's smart too, like, Okay, you got scoop up for one more year, let's take advantage of them right now. 00:05:49 Speaker 7: Bob by the way, I always want to say this for all the people on Twitter saying, oh, the Tigers are not cheap, They're not cheap. 00:05:55 Speaker 6: You're right. 00:05:56 Speaker 7: The Tigers actually was scooball and now with Fromber bringing back labor, bringing in Kelly Jensen. If scoobl wins, I think they'll have a top ten payroll. So good job on them. But it just maybe the question is is no one's ever called the Tigers cheap. We're just wanting them to go out and spend because they have this window with Schoobl Now with Fromer there, it might extend that. But they also lose flairty and there's some other things that can happen. So I think that the Tigers deserve a ton of credit for going out and doing this, Like you said, so, I just want to make sure that you that you can reiterate the fact that the Tigers aren't cheap. They just struck maybe later than I think most people wanted them to. 00:06:30 Speaker 3: Right. 00:06:31 Speaker 4: Yeah, they think at the. 00:06:31 Speaker 3: Big pr campaign out event by signing him Earley for more season ticket sales, they're not cheap. I mean, when Mike Elitch was the owner, he was spending as much money as anybody. 00:06:41 Speaker 4: I mean, he had massive payrolls. 00:06:42 Speaker 3: You know, I'm giving them McGill could bury that money bringing them PUDs in the likes obviously you had a star set of rotation. They should have won a roll Series or two. I mean, that team is that good, but they were never achieved. It's just that when Mike Elitz passed away and then the family hasn't spent as much as Mike did. 00:07:01 Speaker 7: Hey, Bob, by the way, are the Tigers runing baseball? Because their disparity now between the Al Central and the Detroit Tigers is so big. Like the Dodgers, everyone says, Oh, the Dodgers are running baseball. So the Tigers ruining the AL Central. 00:07:14 Speaker 4: That's the thing. That's all GM's always talked about. 00:07:16 Speaker 3: Man, I wish I was in the AL Central, or I wish I was in NL Central because nobody's spending money. 00:07:20 Speaker 4: You're absolutely right, that's the easiest division to bounce back from. I think even with the. 00:07:25 Speaker 3: White Sox, people say, well, white Socks have ways to go, but hey, you're in the AL Central. 00:07:30 Speaker 4: You can turn around a lot quicker. 00:07:32 Speaker 6: The what ifs are always happening. 00:07:34 Speaker 5: Last year, what if they had gotten Bregman, you know, would they have beaten the Mariners and gone onto the World Series? What if the what if the Tigers had gotten Bregman, would this Valdez thing not have happened and possibly shortened their window because Scoop will be gone and then you'd be out of a number one. 00:07:54 Speaker 3: Well, I think they had Bregman, then you still have, you know, the prospects that are ready to play, So they could have easily turned around and trade for Freddie Peralta. So I think they still would have done this. I don't think Bragman would have handicapped him by any means, and who knows, maybe Bragman would have assist on the same type of contract where he could have opted out. I think they would have just turned around and say, you know what, we'll go trade for a starter because now we have more trade chips. 00:08:19 Speaker 7: Hey, Bob, you mentioned him earlier, Zach Allen. Where the heck is he going to sign? We haven't heard really anything about Zach Allen other than oh, the Diamondbacks are now a possibility because of the you know, the pick that's associated with him and all that stuff. Have we heard anything? Do we have anything like formal on Zach? I mean, I thought, I hate to bring this up all but you said he was signing with the Cubs months ago, which was I know was a mistake, but I thought it was funny because it got Cubs fans hopes up and then it broke their hearts. So thank you for that. But is there any news on Zach Allen? 00:08:52 Speaker 4: The three tams to keep hearing are Baltimore Oils. 00:08:55 Speaker 3: And this is before the news yesterday. Still the Cubs, I've talked to him, and then Diamondbacks. I think the Diamondbacks keep saying they'd have to be creative like we'll bring them back. But then you know, if he leaves again as a free agent, you don't get a you know, a draft pick out of it. So I think they'd wanted more than one year just to make it worth for a while. I really believe that all the guys had the quothying offers. 00:09:18 Speaker 4: The clothing offers hurt Zach Gallon the most. 00:09:21 Speaker 6: Is there a. 00:09:21 Speaker 5: World where teams are looking at Chris Bassett as more valuable than Zach Gallen because of that qualifying offer? 00:09:30 Speaker 3: Yeah, and in some respects for sure, like Atlanta for instance, if they had sign a guy with the qualthying offer like Gallon, they lose the twenty fourth pick in the draft. 00:09:38 Speaker 4: They lose a first round draft pick. They're not gonna do that. 00:09:41 Speaker 3: So to your point, yeah, guys like that Gilio and in him as well. Uh, you got more more value just because there's no quafing offer. 00:09:50 Speaker 4: So, I mean, people love Bassett. 00:09:52 Speaker 3: You got to think that Landa is going to sign one of these guys. 00:09:57 Speaker 6: Jeez. 00:09:58 Speaker 7: Well, by the way, the qualifying offer, we have a CBA coming up. The qualifying offer is going to have to be discussed. I know they changed it in the last one. But if it's hurting guys free agency the way that you just mentioned about Zach Allen and some other guys in the past, don't you think that's going to be another thing or gosh, another thing, Bob, that we're gonna have to talk about. The CPA. 00:10:19 Speaker 3: Well, remember it almost went away last time. It was an exchange for the international draft. If you have the international draft, I'm gonna do way the qualifying offer that was debated and debated, and finally, you know, the Union said no, we went to international draft. So MLB says, Okay, the qualifying offers sticks. So I think that'll be a big thing for sure. Let's see, we have an international draft, but the international draft goes away, so the qualifying offers. 00:10:44 Speaker 5: Can you rank the teams that have the most heat on them right now? With the Red Sox kneeding another infield bat, with the Pirates always just looking for one more piece, or you know, even the Orioles talking about starting pitcher who has the most heat on them to make the next move or maybe their last move this offseason. 00:11:04 Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think you nailed it. 00:11:05 Speaker 3: I think it is the Red Sox people still waiting for the infielder that they they don't have had. 00:11:10 Speaker 4: It's nice they have the starting pitching. 00:11:12 Speaker 3: It's nice to have the lowest DRA but Texas Rangers had the lowest ERA last year and where that get them? So you need some found point that lineup. But yeah, I think the Red Sox easily have the most heat on them, maybe followed by the Yankees. 00:11:26 Speaker 4: I still think people want the Yankees to do more. Uh. 00:11:29 Speaker 3: I know the Philly I know the Phillies fans are upset. You know, they want they don't want to run the. 00:11:33 Speaker 4: Same team back. 00:11:34 Speaker 3: But they always make some change this year, you know, sometime in spring training or in the trade dead line. 00:11:42 Speaker 1: Hey, Bob, let's get into your column that you wrote in USA today about the new group of managers. Can you elaborate on some of the background work that you did with very notable managers in this era of very notable former managers in their comments. 00:12:00 Speaker 3: I mean the way you know, ten new managers and uh, five of them don't have any experience at all. 00:12:05 Speaker 4: Uh. 00:12:06 Speaker 3: You know, I'm just making a big thing, you know, obviously talking about the NFL, when you oh, for ten no black men, no black coaches, there's no black managers either that that came in. 00:12:14 Speaker 4: So I think your guys, like you. 00:12:16 Speaker 3: Know, earning with you know, he's up there names now there's only a Benji Gill guys who have paid their dues, you know, like a sticker obviously paid his dues. 00:12:25 Speaker 4: Uh, you know we're. 00:12:26 Speaker 3: Seeing that and now just your guys are coming up with absolutely no experience and you know, maybe it could work because they're not making on their own lineups. Uh, you know, all the front offices now we're dictating moves. 00:12:38 Speaker 4: But it's a shame for the guys, you know, to spend all this. 00:12:40 Speaker 3: Time in the minor leagues thinking you're going to get a shot and you don't. 00:12:46 Speaker 7: Well, well, hold on, Bob, before before we get off this, Uh, do you spend a few years in the minor leagues? He spent like three years in the minor league. Isn't that enough time, Bob to be ready to manage ten uh huh yeah. 00:12:59 Speaker 4: But just at the time, it's like, you know, you see, you're the mayor leadings or. 00:13:03 Speaker 3: You're in the coaching major league coaching staff for years, and now it's like guys you know, you know, aren't even on a major league coaching staff and uh coming up and so you know, I think the one part is that you're talking Tussi Viker about it is you know how come teams are so afraid to hire former players. These DrrA players are make the best coaches, and you know you're not getting that same instruction. 00:13:24 Speaker 4: I mean, look at all the. 00:13:25 Speaker 3: Years we see, you know, look at the base running blunders we see. 00:13:28 Speaker 4: You know, night after night, so a lot of these. Uh, it's almost like. 00:13:31 Speaker 3: You have two strikes against you. If you play the game, you have experience, you know you're you're. 00:13:36 Speaker 4: Roll for two. 00:13:37 Speaker 7: Well, well you know why bove right threats you know why. 00:13:43 Speaker 4: Huh threats or it can't control or what. 00:13:46 Speaker 7: Yeah, I would say it's because the players might fight back a little bit on some of this stuff, right if you can. And I don't mean this against Listen, I made a joke about peterra and I didn't mean it. I'm sure he's going to be a wonderful manager. We've talked to him. He was great to talk to you, right, But yes, a lot of the former players make the argument. And that's why remember the Phillies brought in maddingly because one of the things was players saying we don't have anybody that have experienced it. Well, if you don't have people that have experienced being in the box, being on that mound in the World Series or in playoff, in big situations, it's hard for somebody to communicate that. And I think a former player as a former player, and I don't know this, but they pushed back a little bit on that and say, oh, who, you've never played, you don't understand what it's like. Whereas if you hire somebody that hasn't been there and doesn't understand it, Oh, yes, whatever you want me to do, Yes, sir, Yes, sir, yes sir, And listen, I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm just thinking, in my opinion, that's kind of what's happening. 00:14:41 Speaker 4: I agree. 00:14:41 Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's what hurt Albert Polhols interviewing for the Angels, interviewing for the podres. I think a sense of the interviews, there's gonna have some pushback here, you know. 00:14:50 Speaker 4: I can control Albert. 00:14:51 Speaker 3: I thought Albert would have been a perfect choice for either spot, you know, Tory Hunter an interview with the Angels and the Twins. 00:14:58 Speaker 7: Same thing. 00:15:00 Speaker 3: I think the game's got away from that, and you know, I think the game suffers from it. I think it'll be interesting this year with so many new guys and let's see if the experience hurts them or not. 00:15:12 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's about a third of the league, so it's gonna. 00:15:15 Speaker 7: Be for as long as they don't pull that, As long as they don't pull the Gabe Kapler and Ozzie Gean where they walk out to the mountain and raise their left hand when they really want the right handed guy. I remember when both those guys did death that one time. 00:15:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, get you know, calling the wrong guy up, and I think I have a lot of screwts in the Antonio Botello Uh you know, I mean, you know, unfortunately for him or a lot of enemies and a lot of managers are saying win a minute now. This guy has never managed before in his life and professionally never. 00:15:41 Speaker 4: Been to coaching staff. 00:15:42 Speaker 3: He's making three and a half million dollars a year. Uh that's about double more than any was ever gotten as a first year manager. 00:15:49 Speaker 4: There's only a handful of guys making three and a half. 00:15:52 Speaker 3: So I think a lot of people are gonna say, Okay, let's let's beat the Giants. We're almost mad at him just because how much is getting. 00:15:59 Speaker 6: Paid and his fault. 00:16:01 Speaker 4: I like that, his fault. 00:16:04 Speaker 6: No good agent right there. 00:16:06 Speaker 4: He's making three point two I think at Tennessee. So he pretty much. 00:16:09 Speaker 3: Said I'm not going I'm not taking a pay cut. 00:16:12 Speaker 4: And then Giants said, okay, you got it. 00:16:14 Speaker 1: And also, I mean, MLB, come on, if you want the best talent, if you think there's a manager that's in college ball and should be in the majors, you should be able to bring him in. 00:16:25 Speaker 2: Like the pay gap is ridiculous money Yeah, yeah, a. 00:16:31 Speaker 1: Few hundred thousand bucks in baseball versus college baseball terms. It's hilarious. But Bob good In say yet, we'll follow this storyline. I'm fascinating. We met vy tell A recently in person. I thought he's very impressive. I think he's going to do well. Of course, it depends on the roster. But good catching up with you. Thanks to crime dog Fred McGriff for saying hello, give him a hug and a high five for us. 00:16:52 Speaker 4: Yeah, he wants to wait to buy. He wants to wait to buy. 00:16:55 Speaker 2: That's a perfect way to end this great job. Say we've forgotten common sense, dude, you know what I mean? 00:17:04 Speaker 6: Common sense? You know. 00:17:08 Speaker 7: Hey, grab dog listen. You didn't know you don't know anything about hitting. You know, you only you didn't even hit five hundred homers. You know you don't know one thing about hitting. 00:17:17 Speaker 5: Hey, so that's why Hey, they talking about line changle and everything else. 00:17:21 Speaker 7: Man, Hey, hey, common sense right? He finished, Hey, lonchangle was measured after you make contact, right, not before right. 00:17:31 Speaker 4: So now you got all these guys. 00:17:32 Speaker 7: I laughed, and the battles in nondecked circle they're like, I'm like, okay, okay. Helicopter finished. 00:17:46 Speaker 1: Perfectly stated Bob, thank you for the Fred McGriff cameo. This was more than we bargained for. 00:17:51 Speaker 3: We'll talk to you soon, okay, All right, back to watch your case open. 00:17:56 Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, enjoy. 00:17:57 Speaker 7: It, oh, Bob, stay sober, Bob. 00:18:01 Speaker 4: I haven't had a drinking. I'm about to start perfect and wait. Enjoy your day, Bob, We love it. 00:18:08 Speaker 2: Bye. Six hundred and forty nine minor league games for AJ Is that true? Is that how many you played? 00:18:22 Speaker 7: That's a lot, bro, I just gave you the name, I just gave you the numbers. Dude's a grinder Thank you, Scott, Thank you bro. 00:18:29 Speaker 1: Former grinder, sorry not former former regular scens win total yes, BEDAMGM, futures, white Sox, I'm leading right to you. 00:18:38 Speaker 6: Thanks guys. 00:18:39 Speaker 2: All right, so sixty six and a half. 00:18:46 Speaker 7: Over over If you can hear me, I'm saying over, I can hear you. 00:18:53 Speaker 6: I'm going over. 00:18:54 Speaker 7: I think they win seventy two to seventy five games this year. Okay, I think they're around ninety losses. Now. Can everything break right and they get a little bit better, yes, but I think they're around to seventy win. I think this is way low. Actually, like the one yesterday was way high, this one is way low. 00:19:13 Speaker 6: Do they have enough pitching? 00:19:15 Speaker 5: Do they have enough pitching to make it through one hundred and sixty two games and win and win seventy? 00:19:21 Speaker 6: Yeah? 00:19:22 Speaker 7: Yeah, I think they do. They're going to be better. I think they'll be better than they were last year. And last year they won how many games? Sixty one? 00:19:29 Speaker 4: Sixty one? 00:19:31 Speaker 5: Yeah they were, yeah, they got they still had one hundred, they had one hundred and one losses. I think I was I was honestly going to take the I was going to take the under, and I'm not going to you know, go by anything anything intelligent. But I just think that where are they going to continue to get their innings from. That's that's my biggest that's my biggest concern. Are some of these position player prospects. Yeah, I think I really like them, you know, I like, I like to behind a dish and what him and Caro, you know that combination, what that gives them? I don't, you know, the position player corps I really like. I like, I don't really like. I really I like, what is this rotation and bullpen truly going to look like? And are the lack of big additions going to come back and hurt them in July? Where they could start, they could start a big slide of you know, nine to ten wins a month, which would which would drop them below this sixty six. 00:20:40 Speaker 2: Number, going under. 00:20:49 Speaker 7: You haters, Justin and all the White Sox fans. I just want you guys to know that these two are haters. 00:20:57 Speaker 5: You're such a you're such a politician. It's not even city. You're a race man, just. 00:21:05 Speaker 2: Just a little bit. And hey, the Ale Central. 00:21:09 Speaker 1: As a strong Tigers team, solid Cleveland team that can pitch. 00:21:17 Speaker 2: Twins. 00:21:18 Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna be terrible, but they certainly didn't do much and they might sell again fire sale at the trade deadline. 00:21:24 Speaker 2: And the Royals are solid. I think they'll have a solid year. 00:21:27 Speaker 7: I just think the White naturally have to get a little better than what they were. Another year for Shane Smith, another year for Davis Martin right, another year for the bullpen guys. They added Sir Anthony doming Is, Anthony k Is coming over. Another year for their position players, right, Vargas, TiO kiro My Draw, Colson Montgomery more Commi's there. If he hits any, we're close to what he thinks. If he's thirty homers, that's a huge bat. They got rid of the question that was Luis Robert. Is he gonna be able to play? Is he going to get traded? I just think that you know that progression. I think they had fifty nine wins last year. I think they can get ten more. I think sixty. If this number was sixty nine and a half or seventy, it'd be a much harder decision. 00:22:11 Speaker 2: Beat you to itocrats, just just beat it by like this much. You were like a hair behind me. But I agree. 00:22:18 Speaker 1: I think they're going to improve wins wise, but they improved by five wins. They're at sixty four wins, six wins, sixty five wins, seven wins, sixty six wins. Still the under. So I'm on a slight under with you. On that, AJ, I could see them winning load of Mitz. 00:22:35 Speaker 7: Hater's gonna what's that Taylor Swift song? Hater's gonna hate, hate hate. 00:22:40 Speaker 1: I like going further back, player is gonna play Hater's gonna hate. 00:22:44 Speaker 2: You can say it with a lot more melody if you go further back. 00:22:47 Speaker 1: Look that up, kids, AJ, at some point in like thirty minutes are gonna leave us, and then you're not going to be on with us tomorrow. 00:22:55 Speaker 2: So would you like to deliver a famous Super Bowl pick? 00:23:00 Speaker 7: Oh? 00:23:01 Speaker 6: Huh? All right? 00:23:02 Speaker 7: So I put this together and I was looking on bet MGM. So I'm gonna pull it back up because I forgot I was supposed to my bad producer lady. I forgot to throw this in there. Uh, but my bet slip was but I couldn't find it. So I got to plus one forty and now it went away. It was Jackson Smith and Jigmu to score a touchdown. That's a yes, Seahawks to win. Duh, if you haven't seen my gear and everything, Seahawks to win. That gets me to plus one forty. And I'm not even sure who's singing the anthem, but I'm assuming the number is two minutes. Always bet over on the anthem because all these singers love to taste themselves and feel themselves, so they add a couple of minutes a couple of seconds to it. So whatever add that one to it. I don't know what the number is, but throw those things down and you're gonna win. 00:23:46 Speaker 4: Wow. 00:23:47 Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to keep that collection. We'll keep that in mind. 00:23:51 Speaker 7: I was singing national anthem. Charlie Pooth, who is that? 00:23:56 Speaker 2: He's a famous pop singer, say if he's country. 00:24:01 Speaker 5: The country singers, they go fast. They're like, oh can you sing? 00:24:06 Speaker 7: Even Luke Bryan a couple of years ago, he sang, and he went over, but he. 00:24:10 Speaker 5: Went he added some to it, he started, he added, he added to it. 00:24:14 Speaker 7: I tell you themselves. They start going, M'm tasting nice because I'm singing the anthem at the super Bowl, so I'm gonna add like, I mean, Whitney Houston's was great, but it was like seven minutes long. 00:24:27 Speaker 1: On the topic of tasting yourself. Uh, somebody won a tournament in the past week and actually didn't say anything, which is insane. 00:24:40 Speaker 2: I had to find this and get tipped off. Eric Kratz won an online poker tournament and didn't tell anyone, what are you nuts? I guess he did post about it on Twitter. Yes, betam JM Poker posting the former MLB pro Eric Kratz is a champion. It was the two hundred and fifty k PPO event ten thousand, six hundred and ninety three dollars and a trophy for Bruce Banner. There he is. That's him in action. That's what you're playing against. Folks, when you're online and you see Bruce Banner, you can't run. You can throw emojis at him in the app. I've done that before. But good for you. So now you have two of those clear trophies. 00:25:25 Speaker 6: Not yet now yet, I haven't got that's the trophy. So I have another one. 00:25:29 Speaker 5: I have another one coming that And this was my first victory of twenty twenty six. I had three victories in twenty four and then this one victory. Ben MGM does a great job. I mean they set it up. It's very simple. You can do it on your laptop, you can do it on your phone, and they set up some tournaments that right now they got the grid Iron Classic going on. So you win, if you win the tournament, you get a customized jersey if I win. If I win, I think it's tonight or tomorrow night, Tonight, tonight, I'm gonna get mine, says, that says AJ. Not a grinder, So that's what my jersey will say. 00:26:07 Speaker 1: I'm rooting for you. That's a great dedication right there. All right, let's tell. 00:26:12 Speaker 7: Purify six hundred and how many games was it? Six hundred ninety four games in the minor leagues. 00:26:17 Speaker 5: You were in the Ballets of twenty one. You're a second rounder. You were a baroness it was a third rounder. 00:26:22 Speaker 7: And I was in the big leagues. But then I was also back in Triple A the next year, and then I was back in Double A the year after that. 00:26:29 Speaker 5: Not a grinder. You were making you were making sixty percent of what you made the year before. So you were in the bushes, which back which which. 00:26:36 Speaker 7: Back then was like one hundred grand was the minimum. So I was making nothing, okay, So Let's also not forget that we're talking about like nineteen ninety eight. 00:26:44 Speaker 5: Here he was making twenty three thousand dollars and he was like the taj Mahal compared to everybody else. 00:26:52 Speaker 7: But I was the richest dude in the world back then. Yeah, I thought I was in the world. 00:27:00 Speaker 2: He goes to restaurants sometimes for dinner. 00:27:04 Speaker 7: I told you all the story, man, when I was in Triple A. I told you all the story when I was in Triple A. When you're I ain't gonna say the guy's name, but he had been around for a while and we saw him out to eat a bunch of us, and we were like it like a Cracker Barrel or apple Bee's, you know, the standard Triple A food places. And we're like, man, you've been in the minor leagues a long time, how do you do this. He goes watch and he was finishing his meal and he pulled out a hair and he's stuck it in his food, and he called the waitress, goes, I found a hair in my food. You know, he had already eaten it and finished it, and so like, oh, we're so sorry, we'll cop your meal free meal. He goes, that's how you survive in triple A. 00:27:39 Speaker 6: Kids. 00:27:41 Speaker 2: Wow, there's like movies about that. 00:27:44 Speaker 1: I mean, that's a catch me if you can kind of guy a little more simple with his strategy than the catch me if you can guy, but little scam artist. But you do what you got to do to get by, and if it helps you make it, it helps me make it. 00:27:56 Speaker 3: Eight. 00:27:56 Speaker 1: Richie Schaeffer was on, and he was a much more recent prospect who was getting fed garbage after they. 00:28:03 Speaker 2: S it's ridiculous that. 00:28:08 Speaker 7: We didn't get no geez, we were lucky. 00:28:09 Speaker 6: If we got P. 00:28:10 Speaker 7: B and J in a in a loaf of bread for the whole team. That was what our I mean our that was our spread and maybe a piece of fruit. If you were really lucky the club spread those five those five dollars a day or whatever it was you paid to the clubhouse guy. If he was feeling frisky, you might actually get something hot, like some chef boy r D. 00:28:28 Speaker 6: The first year. First year, I was go ahead, let's go. 00:28:32 Speaker 4: I want to go. 00:28:32 Speaker 2: Sorry, we'll take the story later.
