You know, most ballplayers have their hat on. Steve had his hat off. And what I remember, unfortunately, is that the airport LaGuardia, all of the planes that would fly over.

I've known Donnie for forty years now, thirty five years, and they feel Hall of fame like, all right, we'll get to more phone calls coming up. I have the early Super Bowl lines. If the Seahawks play the Patriots, the Seahawks will be favored by three and a half. This according to DraftKings MS. Favored by three against the Patriots. The Seahawks will be favored by nine and a half against the Broncos. The Rams eight and a half against the Broncos. But the betting lines coming up this weekend, Patriots are favored by five and a half in Denver, the Rams are getting two and a half. In Seattle. Bill's ownership Terry Pigouglia holding a press conference there quote that's coming out that says my decision to bring in a new head coach was based off the results of the game in Denver. Wow, that's the money. Quote there. He made the decision, and can I put it all on him? Like, did it feel like it was that tenuous? Now, we did talk about his e coaching for his job, so it was no secret that we at least felt RG three when he joined us, said, Hag said, finish the sentence. If Buffalo loses in Denver, he said, Sean McDermott loses his job.

The Bill's general manager, Brandon Bean was answering a question about Keon Coleman and the Bill's wide receivers, and the owner then said, can I interrupt all address the Keon situation. The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon. We shifting blame here. Keon was going to be a thing and then I think he was healthy scratch. I think he came up with a touchdown in the postseason. Likable guy, big time personality. But hey, don't blame me that we drafted him, Drane. You can blame the coaching staff man. Gonna be tough for that next head coach coming in, yes, Marvin, Yeah.

But you also got to win the press conference, you got to be when you, you know, speak to the media after a game, after a win, after a loss. But culture is really big. What is the culture here? I don't know, Like, what's the culture in Buffalo right now? What's the culture in Pittsburgh right now? What's the culture in Baltimore? These are mor que jobs Arizona the culture it's a losing culture. Tennessee is a tricky culture. Cleveland losing culture. Yeah, you got to change the but what is It's almost like when somebody says, you know, just be yourself. You know, whenever you talk to people about Hey, who should I be when I'm on TV or on rate? Just be yourself? Well, what's that mean? So you're going to say to a guy who I'm sure hasn't thought about culture, who's been an offensive or defensive coordinator, Hey, Glen there, and just be yourself and change the culture. Well kind of know what that means. And as Jason Garrett just said after speaking to Mike McDonald, he said that in his first year he had no idea what he was doing. So he's the head coach of Seattle and he said, I had no idea what I was doing but Glein there and created a culture.

Speaker 2: I do remember that we were playing in the playoffs postseason state playoffs, and this team came out and played a box in one on me, and I kind of I thought the best thing was to stay away from the action to take two guys with me and instead of being aggressive, so I and we looked we lost by like I don't know, three or four points. But I just remember looking back on that and I probably should have been more aggressive to be involved instead of taking two defenders you know away. But other than that, I remember striking out a Little League All Star game game on the line, bases loaded, and and that's where you know your head's low, you're crying, you're dragging the bat back with you got you know, your all star teammates there looking at you.

I mean, there's one in my broadcasting career, and that's when I'm on the podium and the Patriots have won the super Bowl and I had Gronk there and I said, did you forget how that felt? And he was holding the super Bowl trophy. He said, well, this is the first time that I've won. And so I made a mistake there in the moment that I thought that he had won another super Bowl, And so when I said, did you forget how that felt? And then he said, this is the first time that I've wonted. Yeah.

And I got Kevin Hart yelling and he's hammered and he wants to get on the podium and they probably should have let him up because it would have been more entertaining than the Eagles were up there. You know, the Eli situation where he didn't stick around to get the keys to the Corvette after he won the MVP because he didn't want to be seen with a Chevrolet product. When he represented the Toyota, I think like he didn't even want to touch it. He had his hands on like like, dude, you got this unbelievable corvette and he had a who knew that he had a car you know, sponsorship and he couldn't accept it or something. But yeah, there there's big moments like if you screw up on sports centers. You know, we were doing two hundred shows a year, so you'd have moments. But before we get to that, Okay, doctor Theodore, since you're being a therapist, Okay, I kind of want to talk about the moment Seaton brought up, because trust me, I have a million of them, but things that stick with me, and I just want to talk about this. And while I'm talking about this, PAULI can probably pull this up. Nineteen ninety four, We're in the Conference finals versus the Knicks. This is coming off game five, twenty five point quarter. My beloved Pacers go up three to two, coming home to Indiana to close out the series. It could be a trip to the NBA Finals. Our first, you would think home court advantage. I felt that we have broken the wheel of the Knicks. The start of that game. The Knicks get off to a great start. I mean, they're up by as many as fifteen to twenty points on us. We scratch, we claw our way back in. We have a big third and fourth quarter. We crawl all the way back into this ballgame. Being down double digits, I get fouled. We're down two. I'm going to the free throw line in our building. And you know this, Theodore, being a shooter, score it's sometimes just breaking the wheel of your opponent because you can tell you can look at in your opponent's eyes and you know when they're about ready to crack. I feel if I make both of these free throws and we go up one with about two three minutes left, I will have broken them. This is it because they were ready to fold anyways, but they had played great all the way up to this point. I go me, I go one for two, and it's a tie ball game. And Dan, you know this, there's a difference between tied and being ut because all they did was exhale these they didn't get the lead and they went on to be just in Game six and we lost Game seven. So to answer, it's that moment that keeps me up because I should not miss free throws, especially in a moment like that, because they were ready to fold like a chair. I had them on the precipice of being broken, and I let them off the hook. So if there's something that haunts me a moment, damn free throw. That's why it just kills me, because it kills me. One of the best free throw shooters ever in the NBA, I miss a free throw in that moment, it kills me. It really kills me because they were ready to be broken. Okay, what do you want to know about the NBA?

Speaker 2: What about the Knicks now, like they're talking about trading Karl Anthony Towns. I thought that Mike Brown and we got to get rid of TIBs and no, no, this is a team that can go to the NBA Finals.

Speaker 5: And they still can go to the NBA Finals. But let's be real that Karl Anthony Towns trade demands or everyone talking about it, that's nothing new. They were talking about doing that last year, even before they made the coaching change. Look, something just isn't clicking chemistry wise in that locker room and having a chance to cover a few of their games this year, and I'm surprised because karl Anthine Towns last year under Thibbs iveraged twenty four points thirteen rebounds, All Star, All NBA performer. This year numbers can considerably down. Still good twenty points, eleven rebounds, but his shooting is atrocious.

Speaker 5: I know it's a new offense, there's more pace, a space, and there's more flow, but he just doesn't look comfortable under Mike Brown's system. And don't get me started on the defense, which was fantastic under coach Dibbs. As we know he is a defensive minded coach. Their defense is atrocious, So chemistry balance, Look, Mike Brown says it was gonna be a while. Look, they won the Cup a month ago and everyone was patting them on the back and they've gone I believe, seven and eleven since then, and they just have not played great basketball on either end.

Speaker 6: We were talking earlier about Jimmy Butler's injury and what this means for gold in State because they're not going to be challenging for a championship here unless if you trade Jonathan Kaminga and you bring in I don't know, Klay Thompson or DeMar DeRozan or I don't know, but he got Steph at thirty seven, and you know that window is really closing here reg.

Speaker 5: Halfway closed, and especially now with the injury to Butler, almost closed unless something drastically happens. Look, Mike Dunley Junior, the general manager, has gone on record and say we cannot continue to waste these prime golden years of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green to a certain degree. I mean, he's thirty five, so I wouldn't be surprised if they made a subtle move. I like the DeMar DeRozan. I know, again, another older player, but a proven player and a proven score. But what you give up. I know Sacramento all along has wanted Jonathan Kaminga, And now this is gonna be an interesting dynamic because now if you're Steve Kerr and their coaching staff and you look down on the end of the beach and you see Kamina after the injury to Jimmy Butler, and you're asking him, oh, now can you come play for us when you haven't played me at all. I'm not going for that. If I'm kaminga something has to happen. Or if I'm Stephen Curry, maybe I opened up my rolodex.

So the carl Anthony Towns is not that attractive in Milwaukee. But I think the pairing of Jannis and Steph that's fascinating. That is that's pretty fascinating.

If you could keep Wimby and maybe Castle, but everyone else is in play and have Steph. If you had those three guys, Dylan Harper, great young player, ship them off. Luke Cornett, champion in Boston, another big guy, Ship them off. Harrison Barnes who won a championship with the Warriors, Ship them off. Kelvin Johnson great dearon Fox gotta go?

And you know, I was watching that game last night between the Spurs in the Rockets, and I, for the life of me, I just don't know why they wouldn't run pick and roll with Dear and Fox in Winby almost every single play. How are you going to guard that? They rarely run that, or even with Stephen Stefan Castle, why would they run that almost exclusively? How would you guard that? Either throw it to the rim, pick and pop, pick and roll, they go under. That's Stephen Curry and they go under. Boom baby. There's so many things you could do with a de Aaron Fox in Wimby pick and roll. Fox is just too good. And to me, they're not using them as most as they should. It's a shame because offensively they can be really good.

Maybe it's time for a change of place and seeing every for him as well. But I think Joe Dumars kind of wants to see what he has with this young core. What's the sample size on Zion? I mean, how many games has he played?

Speaker 5: Look, I think a change of pace for all three of those guys might be an order. I know they're all all injury prone, and I know they need the basketball to be successful, but also they can be a difference maker on a winning team, on a winning culture. Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 5: He's the real deal, you know, because I wanted to see how he really seeing it on TV versus seeing how someone's change your pace, how they warm up, how they approached the game. When you see him person and up close for a nineteen year old. And I give a lot of credit to whoever developed this young man in terms of his fundamentals and footwork, and coach Jason Kidd and his staff has done a fabulous job of allowing him and listen to me carefully when I say this, allowing him to fail, okay, because the project they did of putting him at point guard was brilliant because at some point in time, if you could have two or three playmakers on the floor. And you know, I think I brought this up on air. Coach k called Coach Kid and said, you know what, we never thought about doing that. You know, we just thought he was going to be a forward and we would throw a ball. Told me it's like, this is fascinating, and yeah he did. It wasn't great, but he passed a lot of tests and it's only going to make him better. So by failing, to me, the Mavericks got better because he developed his game. This young man is going to be the face of our game in another three to five years because he has all the tools to be great.

Speaker 2: He won't be the face because of Wemby though, and Wemby's only two years older than him, isn't he Hey's Wemby's gonna You know, it's not often when you say somebody changes the game, but somebody who is that skilled inside, outside, offensively, defensively. I just think that the league is his for the next decade.
