Welcome to another edition of The Major Rewind. I'm your host, Jay George, and The Major Rewind is a show where we take some of the best classic ultimate Major moments from the Major pods rich five year history and we put it together for new and old Major marks to enjoy. This week on the show, we're doing something special. We're doing something a little bit different. It's that time. It is the Hall of Dude Dude, Mark would he you know, that's the song that Matt sings, but Mark always plays the other one. But the one that Matt sings, We're gonna play that right now. There it is, and that's the Hall of Fames, being that Matt talks about us and all things Matt talks about. The w W A hall of Fame. I'm talking about the wrestling Bigger Hall of Fame that started back in the spring of twenty nineteen, and what a year that was. But that was the year that started the twenty nineteen Hall of Fame, and we're gonna play that right now. We're gonna play that moment, the inaugural clax of the twenty nineteen Hall of Fame, and if I do end up finding the clip, maybe we'll play the backstory going into it of how the Hall of Fame started, the Wrestling Figure Hall of Fame started, but not here's the Hall of Fame. And afterwards, after we hear about the twenty nineteen Hall of Fame, I'm gonna run down the ballot. I'm gonna run down my picks for the twenty twenty four Wrestling Figure Hall of Fame, and that's gonna come right after all this thing. One last thing we are announcing right here, This is a bit. This is take a shot, barn Grill, take a shot. We are announcing that this year will be the first ever first annual major Wrestling Figure podcast Hall of Fdave. That's right, didn't they chase the song, dude? It's they played both each year. Hope we just nailed that. They're gonna take these down on YouTube now. No, we're singing said because it was so spot on. The robots that run YouTube are gonna think that was the exact song. All right, Well, we're doing the UH first annual UH and it might be the first ever wrestling figure Hall of Fame. Who better started than us. We are going to induct four figures into the Hall of Fame this year. We're gonna put on the episode right before WrestleMania, and that's gonna be our annual thing because this podcast gonn last forever. A prestigious committee. Yes, it's gonna friends of the pod, friends of the pod, and friends in the business. We will reveal all the exact details next week. Absolutely not Tommy Boy from Massachusetts. No, but we want the fans to be in So, guys tweet us who you think would be a good a good person to put into the first ever UH Wrestling Figure Hall of Fame, and UH we'll talk about with the committee and each week leading up to the Hall of Fame, we will announce one inductee and then we will have the Hall of Fame ceremony on the podcast the week before wrestle Maye. We'll dress up in our suits, we'll bring the figures out and it'll be a great time. It'll be our go home show to uh, our second ever live event. No, well, actually be after because the live event will be on a Wednesday. For the Hall of Fame episode will drop on a Friday. Oh go home to us, but not to the fans. Yes, yeah, yes, all right, and guys, it's now time for weekly purchases. And weekly Purchases is brought to you by Do Do Do Time Unless you have more follow up, I don't. I just didn't know what to do. Do Do Mark? Put the real song in right there. Okay, welcome everyone, the first ever major wrestling figure podcast, Hall of Fame Lapping. Get ready to hold them that piss and uh, let's let's get right to it. Let's talk about what made us want to do this, what made uh what we did to get the votes? And I'm trying to say what I'm trying to say. The prestigious committee that we had, We had a prestigious committee. It was eleven members, I believe. Well, well, we'll spill all the beans right now. We're really gonna spell the beans. I just wanted people to know how that that this was a legit effort. I don't know if we to spell the beans. Okay, So what we did we had the committee, people in the toy business, people in the wrestling business, that we trusted their opinion, and uh we gave them. Okay, we said, okay, Hasbro, l j N, Jack's Mattel, pick your five favorites. Then we said miscellaneous of all the toy lines, uh, miscellane to and then I literally with a pen and paper. It was very confusing actually to keep track of all this, but I I wrote it all down and wrote, you know, and we got some winners. We had five winners. So let's let's go with the first inductee from l JN. The Macho Man o Ye, Randy Savage the best, in my opinion, best figure of all time. I know the best l j N for sure my favorite. It's as a kid, I didn't really know what was like Series one, series two serious, so to me, like Macho Man is like one of the earlier ones because I can't like demolition acts and all I got later, but in my mind, like Macho Hogan, they were all like they were just right. But technically he's Series three. I know, is't that crazy to think? It's weird to think of that. I love that figure because he does the elbow t we're really really young kids and these are coming out, so yeah, so it makes sense you can do the elbow with the left or the right. I do appreciate the stamp because obviously ljm's were challenged you to be very creative with your your your playing abilities, and his dance kind of opens him up for you know, give someone a body slam, an elbow drove me things? Are there, wide legs, you can take moves. Yeah, you know, so I appreciated that, of course. But it is a timeless figure. I mean so much that we have that shirt that might look like him the justless collect and I know, you know, it's funny like we're inducting him here today, but it's almost like we did when we picked out that shirt, because we were talking about what's a timeless figure and the pose that we can put in that sill a way, of course, I think anybody who's in the wrestling figure collecting community is going to go boom. We've talked about this on the pod before before our new listeners. You know, there's versions of this macho man in like this purplish pink, then a neon pink than a darker purple. But those are these are not true variants. Ryan Myers does not recognized these variants. Collection. I only recognize them because I'm a man and you're a lunatic. Yeah. And then there's also the big nipples Machra Man, but I believe that's the black card who's not technically getting inducted here. Okay, so swamp, so there's an asterisk, yes, okay, so Matra Man with the small nipples has been getting abducted. Big nips on the shelf, Yeah, okay, he's on the ballot for another year. And I actually have the hand painted resin prototype of this figure, which is beautiful and it has stars on the boots, which the regular figure does not have. Really, yes, that's something I did not know. And then I have an unpainted he did no, I'm sure that, I'm sure at one point. Definitely, at one point, I guess. And then I also have an unpainted prototype resin where he looks like a chocolate Easter bunny, you know what I'm saying. So it's cool to have all those hard hard, heavy and hard yeah heavy and heard they don't bend man that that the machra man is just so beautiful and with the Elizabeth, which you don't have, correct, No, I still need a good miss Elizabeth. That's something. I guess. What detoys me from buying that one being so quick to do it is the cloth. It scart, right, And I've discussed with you. There's like a soft soft one and a harder one. Ummm, no, I know obviously pink and gold, right, but there's one where it's like true l jan style like rubber, where you can like squeeze her legs if you want, like a ice we're saying, And I do know what you're talking about. Okay, Yeah, Rob Shamberger years ago made me a macho man painting of that figure. Really yeah, a little eight by ten painting. But it was nice, like like a water color? Is that what it's called? Yeah? What'd you do with that? I still have it. It's not on display. Wouldn't you put it like I should? You know? I guess the backdrop to your l jams And did you see the guy who got it tattooed? That was wild? I think I might have to do that this particular figure or a wrestling figure. That figure, I think if I were to get it, if I were to get a figure tattooed on me, it'd be that one. I think you should get the Macho has Bro Okay, that's more your generation. Yeah, okay, that's fair. Look at the wheel spinning on you. Okay, is that it for the Macho Man? I think so. I think we said enough, beautiful figure. We love it. We don't want to take up a lot of people's time, like Hillbilly Jim. You know, sorry, all right? Next up from Hasbro Series one, the Immortal Hulk Hogan. I mean, if this if the Macho Man l Jan figure is not the most iconic figure ever, this one certainly is. Of course when it comes crashing down and it hurts inside every kid who grew up in our generation, if you will, got to take a stand. Yeah, it don't help to hide. Uh yeah. I'd say it's probably a dead tie because my first memories of wrestling and wrestling a six. But there's a dead tie to me about this Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior from the same set that were like the two figures I wanted the most you know, I mean like my first oh my god, I have to have that wrestling figure. And these were the first wrestling figures that I knew of that had like articulation, cause I didn't have the A w A figures or a pope or a POPI I had the wh I had the l J N S and I was like, oh my god, and like you could do the gorilla press, you do all the different moves. I don't know, does this ever happen to you? I don't know. I set it up like that. But when I was a kid at hazards were like these massive toys and then you know, now they feel so small to me that I'm an adult. No, I thought they were small because I had I had the ljs. Growing up happen too, but like I don't know something about them, Like as I got older, like they really shrunk in my memory compared to like when I was a kid. I love the Hogan the Hulk still No, it's Hulk Rules, not Hulk Still Rules. Two body slame action, which was like so innovative at the time. You know, we're so used to seeing it now, but that was like, oh my god, you can body slam somebody you know, and then they later made other Hogan figures, but to me, that's the best one. And uh, you you can't have a Hasbro collection in my opinion without Series one Hogan. I mean, if you tried to brag to me and show off your Hasbro collection you didn't have this figure, how can I take you? Seriously? I mean, I I have not trying to be a bully. Yeah, no, I have this figure loose. I have it Mint on card. I also have the green standard tag Mint on card. Do you have the Baggie the Silver Vision Yeah, yeah, but that does that's not Series one in my mind, it is, but it's not what's different. There's nothing different his neon legs and stuff. But yeah, but that's not the one that's getting induct The Silver Vision Exclusive is not getting inducted. Asterisk the Bushman mark. Bushy has the handpainted prototype really and I've thought about buying it before, but the not that it matters because it's a prototype, but the paint application is all like smeared and messed up because it was I don't know if it was played with but banged around, so it's not like Mint. So I'm like, I don't want to spend dollar on this figure. You have prototypes that are kind of like that. Yeah, but those are figures out that never came out. Yeah what I'm saying. So if you want the whole Cogan prototype, hit the bush Man. I can see you. I thought it was ik. No, it's not. I can't go as I could see you two. Whatever. Yeah, screw you, Bushy. You get a lot of plugs in the show. The Hull Cogan Series one has bro an inductee to the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast Hall of Fame. Next up we will do the miscellaneous figure. This one he won with flying Collars by Landslide. It is the w c W Galube Sting. So to me, this one is so like iconic in the sense that I feel like my friends growing up, even if they didn't really have wrestling figures, they have this figure for some reason, Like everyone just had this, like it was it was a a mainstay in people's just collection, right, I mean, like I think it's because the thing was so larger than life. Is is a cool looking dude and the neon colors and the cool pose, yeah, cool post. It's jacked, right, And these were two scale kind of with the Hasbro so you can do some fantasy warfare if you wanted to. I always did, always thought that was cool. You know, he's always doing the Singer splash in my feds, you know, because his arms are as perfect going for this and then it Yeah, and they made some repaints, but it's the first one with the blue that's going into the uh the Hall of Fame. And then they have the is it fourteen inch? I always messes up the twelve inch fourteen inch It's very similar figure and the similar gear and designs and stuff. But yeah, that that Sting figure to me is so uh iconic, and all these figures are. But like, everyone was allowed ten votes and everyone voted for this. That's pretty crazy if you think about it, how wide the miscellaneous spectrum could be. It could have been any Yeah, yeah, and they voted. The committee voted for the WCW Sting. So congratulations, Singer, you are in stag Dang, you are in. My favorite wrest of growing up was you were going in the Hall of Fame. Next up from Jackson, this is one that I think was shocking, the Jacks Classic Superstars series one Ultimate Warrior. So truth be told, I did not vote for this figure. I mean, I love this figure and I think it's very deserving of this award. I guess what in the Jacks category, my mind went in chronological order right away, so I wasn't prepared to vote for I thought for sure Sean Michaels or Brett Series one was gonna win. Yeah. Probably my mind was in the bone cruncher realm in the early days and things like that. This figure is so important because this was during a time thanks to Jeremy Padouer uh, when WWE and Ultimate Warrior weren't on the best terms. I mean that that that, for sure is the legacy of it. He just opened the doors for I mean, I'm sure that, I mean almost what hundreds of guys to get signed by Jax to get classics eventually because he didn't. It didn't matter what your relationship was with, right, And so that's pretty epic in that sense. And this is in his WrestleMania six gear, which is your you love Russell of course. Yeah, he's got the Giants six poster in my player room, the logo painted on the chest. One thing I don't like about this figure is that he has a attitude Era title, which is that's so Jackson. Yeah, but he has the honestly almost forgot about that till you just said that. Yeah, but everybody in the whole set has that right, right. But he's got the tassels, he's got the the There was a lot of extra effort put into him compared to other Jacks products. At times it was really eye popping and it really opened the door also for these exclusive words some of the most rare. We talked about it last week of the pot I posted picture some of the most rare wrestling figures in history. Because The Ultimate War had exclusive deal with Jackson. He later did with Mattel where he got his own exclusive that he could sell on his own website. Another one of those gone off of eBay this week. That's crazy. It's the one you have, so I know you didn't buy it. I didn't buy blown away. The one of one is step there for like twenty five k or something. So the only wrestling figure I'm missing is the only classic superstar I'm missing is the Warrior America one of five. Five there's five. I always thought there was, So here's the deal. There's five. Okay, you and I we talked to Dana, worry about this. She says she has one. Yes, tugboat guy has one. Yeah, okay. Tugboat guy told me that he knows a guy who knows the guy who knows the guy who knows the guy who had it, and it got destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. Like, so is it loose thin or it's oh, maybe it could be loose. I don't know about that. It could be lose. I didn't think about that. But the mint On card was destroyed and Warrior had to write a letter to this guy's insurance company, like proving how valuable this was. Wow? Really yeah? So really there's Stata work the Yeah, that's all. That's Waror's a great guy. So Dana Warrior is never going to sell it. Trust I'm not trying to buy it. She should keep it forever. Yeah, of course, talk about guy. He's probably gonna keep it forever. We talked a little bit about it. But we got two in the wild that we needed. So there's two in the wat Some didn't have it. Maybe he did at one point, but I don't think JEREMYE No, I don't start talking to people. We had a brief conversation with Dana Warrior last week about these figures or just in general, and I for sure we're gonna have to get her on here in death about it because it's very unique, very very unique. And that Ultimate Warrior figure. I just opened one this week because I don't know if you saw. Oh I didn't post the picture yet. I'll post it today to go along with this pod dropping. Steel Cage Customs made us a Hall of Fame retro ring, and I put all of these figures in the Hall of Fame retro ring. So I had I had the Ultimate Warrior min on Card. I had to open them up him. So when you said that, I know you're saying you opened one of the Oh God though, one of these Warriors, Why on earth did you do that? Okay? That makes sense, Okay? And the final inductee to the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast Hall of Fame. It's a double win for the superstar. It's the Mattel defining moments wrestle Mania seven, Macho Man Randy Sat two times, two time inductee. Wow, another one that won by a landslide. It's crazy to think that it's only it's not even ten years yet, it's going to be ten years that figure might be. Well, I say it's already iconic. It's iconic. Yeah, it's the best wrestling figure Mattel has ever made in my opinion. And the story that we need to have Bill on here to discuss what went into this. Yeah, because Bill went to Macho Man's house personally, which I didn't know till recently, and I was like blown up. He tells the story on Sam Roberts. Yeah, so maybe they're in Sam's archives. Well, we'll get him on to get a good interview out of it. WrestleMania seven outfit I love. It's the purple and white, and there was no figures of them ever in that outfit, which is kind of crazy because that moment, that match, and that moment is so iconic to me. And then they made the Warrior to match, which which so okay, this explains how unbelievably perfect that figure is. In my shelves, I display everything pretty much when I get something new, Like everyone kind of gets pushed to the back. That Warrior and that Savager right up front and they just stay. Everyone else kind of files in behind them, like in their front and center. In my case, because I just think they need to be seen. That figure is so beautiful if I have one gripe with it, okay, is I don't even know what to describe this as the little silver material piece for the hat. Yes, it falls off, and stuff like why isn't it attached? We're glued or like a little drop of glue ski in the back there. Sometimes I've almost lost it. I almost lost it today taking the picture. Okay, I mean I understand. I know what you're talking about because in the handful of times that i've move mine, it's it's scary, it's card. There's no problem, of course, right, I mean I appreciate that effort that it's there, right, Yeah, it looks a little more securely. Yeah, and it is a scary thing to I'm sure God when people are trying to catch up and get that on ebil or something, I'm sure they won't even realize that that's not there or missing or you know, when I when I wrestled to WrestleMania at thirty two, my gear is WrestleMania seven Machra Man inspired. It's like wearing those colors, the purple and the white, but that's more of a blue the macha that's purple. It's blue? Are you Are you kidding? It's purple. It's more in the blue family than the it's purple. Do you really yours is purple? It's not purple, bro, are you colored bled? It's it's in the blue family. It's in the purple family. Oh my god, you're kidding me right right now? The figure it's more blue than purple. What dude, that's purple? That's blue? You were color blinde my friend, that's purple. It's blue. Guys tweet us what do you think this is? This is purple, white and purple. It's more of blue. That is purple. It's blue. When we were on the indies wearing purple and black, you think we were wearing blue and black? Hole time. This is purple. That was purple? This that restling seven Machoin's gear is more blue than kiddy by? Are you blind? That's purple? I don't think so, dude, Bro, this is unbelievable. That is purple? Right there? Am I color blood? Maybe? I think so? I think you are. But now looking at all these pictures, we need a Liz like this then we I feel like we discussed that already. You know they should make a basic version of this. Macho and uh and Liz, that would be easy, you think easy? Right, No macho and just the trunk, you know, the long tights and her and that. Well, that's it for the Hall of Fame. Congratulations to all our winners and folks. That right there is what the Major pot is all about. History being made. And mean, you just witness history being made back in twenty nineteen when the Major I don't know if it's them under the Major brand, but it is the Wrestling Figure Hall of Fame. And we're talking about the Wrestling Figure Hall of Fame Class of twenty twenty four. I'm gonna I don't know if I'm allowed to do this or not. I fucking don't give a damn at this point. So I'm just gonna talk about the ballot. I'm gonna talk about what I got lined up, the people I voted for. Did I not? Where did it go? Oh? Hold on a second, because I got the pest winners here, But that's not what my ballot was, all right, So here are here's my ballot here, here's all right? All right, So here's the ballot, and this is some of my choices for this year's Hall of Fame. Of course, the first class, which I think has always been here, is the ljn WWF Rustling Superstars toy line. And here we go. We had five votes. I put in Series one, Andre the Giant. I mean, it goes without question, Andrea one of the biggest stars of his time and of all time. This one is a bit of a wild card. Here my second pick. But I do think when you look at what this toy line was and the figures that they had, they included, you know, managers, and they also included the legendary mean Gene Okerland. I mean, this guy was practically the face and voice of WWF programming at the time. You've got to have him on there. Then I go. I went with Series four Jacob Snake Roberts. I believe his Hasbro figure might have been uh yes, I think his hashpro figure was inducted a previous year, so why not the LD and you know, uh, then you got Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Of course he got the b RG. So there's kind of Italian there. And then I put Bam Bam Biglow because you know, I was looking at the figure. I was looking at the Bam Bam Bigelow and uh it's a pretty good figure. Uh you know they I mean they they nailed it. And you know there's a certain level of uh you know, paint like the I'm not fucking d freedom here, but you know the paint apps and just like the level of detail with the how colorful and eccentric of a character that Bam Bigelow was. It's pretty cool, pretty cool. His ww F run in there. I always like forget like he had that little weird run in the early uh not early, but the late eighties here, all right. So that's the my lj N pick. Let's we'll see who gets inducted in my If I had a guess, it would be that Andre that gets into that classics. He's got that. To me, that's one of my favorite andres as someone that like goes back and watches matches, that's some of my favorite stuff to watch is seventies Andre. That guy was just such a pro. He still had a bit of his mobility, so and then you also got a wide range because he would do these two or even three man handicapped matches on WWWFTV and they were always super entertaining. You could tell Andres having fun, and he would do that around different territories. He would do that in Canada and stuff. But then you also have his stuff from Japan where he's just he's going in there hanging with some all time greats, you know. So yeah, so seventies Andres has a fun place in my heart. And I also that LGN was what I used during the J George Open Challenge at the last FWF, so there's a little tie in. That's the thing. I did not grow up with. L jns are a little bit before my time, but it's kind of like I look at it the same way, where it's like I also didn't grow up on seventies wrestling, but I'm you know, you're able to go back and revisit it, albeit through different lenses. Right, These these other members of the voting committee all have most likely played with l jns as kids. I did not, but I still am able to appreciate the history, and you know, I've done my research on this. Obviously, I wouldn't be a part of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast if it wasn't for my adoration and love for all things wrestling and wrestling figures. So as we move on, we have the this is the Hasbro and the WCW galub category again. Now, now I don't have too much experience with the Globes or the Hasbros really, but last year they had a sting from I think the Series one was the was inducted. This year, Do we have a globe on the ballot? I do? Okay, Well, my first ballot here, I'm going with a figure that is actually kind of sentimental to me, the nineteen ninety three WWF Hasbro Series seven Razor Ramone. I mean, I mean it's a great figure and you got the accessory with the chains. I mean, that's pretty cool, right. I remember finding this figure at a garage sale once, and I remember, like, all, I even when I at the time when I got the figure, I was like, I'm first of all, I was like, this is a great figure. But then I'm like, I gotta you know, I'm gonna keep this thing, Mack. It's a Hasbro. You know, you gotta hold on to it. And I had it on my table, and wouldn't you know, my little dog Rocky he came up. He started biting the bubble and next thing you knew, Razor was off the bubble and then I also subsequently had lost the gold chain, so that was that was a fun time. I should I should try to like buy that figure back to replace it, and I would have paid what I would have eventually sold it for it if I would have sold it. My next pick here is going to be I keep losing my thing. Okay, my next pick here, I am gonna go with the Hasbro series to Roddy Roddy Piper, another A plus figure, great figure, iconic figure. I also got the million Dollar Man Ted de Biassi from series one. Another again it's like this is on the money. It's got the look of him at the time and the suit and everything, and you know what I'm gonna go here. I wasn't sure. I had to think about it. But honestly, if if you think about a figure, and I don't know what the rules are here with variants and chases and whatnot, but to me, when you're getting on the ground floor of learning about wrestling figures and you're on the message boards and you're learning all about you know, the scarcity and the rarity and the value of some of these older figures, then you hear about the legendary series seven Camala with the moon on the belly. I mean, how can that not be a Hall of Fame figure. It is like a fane of leg rounds out that ballot. And then up next we have one that's a little more near and dear to my heart a little. We have the Jack Specific BCA, the WCW Toy BIZ and the original San Francisco Toy Makers ECW lines. Now, like I said, this one's a little more near and dear to my heart. And I was just looking back at my ballot for this podcast, and I just realized I didn't vote for a single BCA figure, even though that was like my wheelhouse, that was my the ones probably I had the most as a kid, or the the BCA figures, and there's not a single one on there. I'm kind of ashamed of that. I was looking at it. It's a little bit. It's a mix of the toy bis and the ECW line. And I was looking at the past winners. You know, you had the series one gold Dust, the Series one HBK, you have the series three Mankind, and then you got the series one Raiser verm On. I feel like that whole first series is gonna get inducted. And you know, if you look past winners of the you know, in this Hall of Fame, there's not really a lot of do CW toy biz on there. And to me, those figs were, you know, they were a little bit ahead of the curve in a lot of ways, and they had more articulation than the bcas and the same The same could be said for my first ballot pick, ECW Series one Sabu. I mean, you couldn't get any more of a perfect Sabou figure at that time, and I mean I could. There's so many things I could say about it. My second pick was the nineteen ninety nine w CW Toybus Smash and Slam Kevin Nash with the red tassels. I mean, as a kid, to me, this figure was just it was badass. It was it was perfect. I mean it was it was right on the money. You know, it's got this tall, badass figure of Kevin Ash. You couldn't go wrong. My third choice is one I'm wondering if I picked it because of all of the hype surrounding Sting at the time of his retirement, with the time that the ballots came out, and I figured you know, if you're gonna have a WCW ToyBiz figure represented in this Hall of Fame, you should have a Sting figure in there. I mean, you had to do it for the glube. You gotta do it for Sting. I mean, dude, excudes, what it means to be toyatic And to me, this is one I think that kind of captures it. It's the two thousand and one evolution of Sting. It's a six pack and I mean I remember seeing the staying in stores. Man, if only I had the money to shell out at that time to get it. But I mean, it tells the story of this man's career with all these toyatic figures. You got Surfer Sting, you got early Croasting, you got wolf Packsting, and then you get like post you know, two thousand, you know, nineteen ninety nine to two thousand and one kind of Sting. This is like pretty rare at the time to see you know, these sort of like classic superstars a figure represented in its like retro form. You didn't really see a lot of that during that time in wrestling figures. You know, like you would have Jackson did that weird Legends line with Freddie Blast and all them, but not a character in his like earlier form. Right, you didn't really see that in resting figures at the time. So that gets Suxra points for me. That goes on my list. That's an iconic. That's an iconic set right there. Talk to me if you disagree, talk to me all right. Let me run through these real quick too. So then we got Sting, and then I voted for the two thousand toy Biz unleashed Vanpiro kind of similar reasons to it's a badass figure and it was kind of unique for its time with the flocked hair. And then I went with the nineteen ninety nine ECW Series one Taz, again a badass figure of a badass wrestler. Now we're moving on to Jack's Pacific non bcas, so you know, I figured this could be Titan Tron's R threes Classic Superstars, and that's exactly what I did here. First off, my first ballot Hall of Famer hear me out, hear me out, hear me out. I voted Series two Ruthless Aggression, Series two Bautista. Now, this figure to me at that time, it meant a lot having that figure in the collection, and it was just like it was the kind of the timing of it, because you know, obviously he had just been the Deacon and then he's coming up on Raw. But by the time this figure's coming out, I'm pretty sure Batista's like getting his way into evolution at this time. So having that that figure come out when it did, Man again, I'll say it again, badass wrestler, badass action figure. And not only that, but I'm looking at it the way, you know, these guys look at the series one BCA, right, you have to put a lot of these guys from that, and I wanted to put guys you know that. I wanted to put some people from those first two series, the ray mystereo, you know what I'm saying. But then again, it's like do I put that John Cena? Uh? He would have better figures, right, you know, So like you don't have to put the early John Cena figure. This, I believe was that series one or two where he's got the Jamie Nobles shorts. You don't got to put that on there. But you got some you got some some heavy hitters in those first two series, so you gotta show some some Honestly, I would even put that Jamie Noble on there now that I think about it, right, But that's my pick right there, Series two, Batista, that's my top pick. My second pick I went with Classic Superstars Series one, Shawn Michaels. Again, Uh, it's it's kind of and you're gonna this is kind of a recurrent theme as as as you see here, you kind of have to include in this Hall of Fame, right, you gotta include people who or sorry, you gotta include people from the early series because those are the things that kind of set forward the momentum of these toy lines. Right, That's why you have to have that Series one Shawn Michaels in that in your BCA, in your BCA wing of the Hall of Fame, right, and it's the same thing Series one, Seawn Michaels. Is it the best version of that attire? I don't know. That's up to Again, that's like, that's a de freedom question. It's not a J George question. From my heart. I remember when this came out. It was a big deal then, and it's a big deal now. We're putting that Shawn Michaels Series one in the Hall of Fame let's go up next. Hear me out. This is gonna be controversial. I'm probably gonna get a lot of heat for it. I'm probably gonna get a lot of backlash, little KB backlash for it. But I'm telling you once again, I'm speaking from the heart and I'm speaking from truth because if I'm not just gonna include Ruthless Aggression Superstars, it's any non BCA figures from Jack specific right, So I'm putting it. I'm voting my vocals right here. For the third choice, here is the R three for I didn't write down the series Big Show, but it's the R three Big Show. And I know you're thinking, what, but you know that that figure kind of stood the test of time and you go on to see it. Obviously they used for that Andre the Giant, which is like, what are you thinking? And that's so Jack's et cetera, et cetera. But think about that impact, man. They got that down when they said R three was real scan, real reaction, real Uh. I forgot what the third R was, real scan, real reaction, but I'll tell you what it was, real height, real girth, real size. They captured the Big Show perfectly, and that was a uh, that figure stood the test of time. You know, as I'm going through my fig fed and it's transitioning from from uh, you know, the TTL style to the R three and all of a sudden, now we're going to roofless aggression. The one figure that was able to hang in there was the Big show Man. I'm telling you. They they hit. When you talk about hitting the ball out of the park, that you know, that's what that AR three line was supposed to be. What it was all about, the unique body types and all this and all that. They hit it with the AR three Big show Man. I'm sorry. All right. My next pick TTL Series five Undertaker. This is the iconic Ministry of Darkness Undertaker, and it's kind of a two fer of you think about it because, like I said, you have to include people from the early lines, right, and you kind of get that with the Undertaker. Obviously, Titan Tron Live was a what do you call it? An iconic line and of itself. But they also again this is how this is what I'm talking about. They've re released this figure in the I believe Classic Superstar Series one, and that just goes to show you how iconic of that figure was that they had to re release it, so, you know, again not a decision I agree with. They were kind of funny in those early days of the of the toy line there, but hey, we did it, baby, let's go. Or it was that classic Superstar series three or maybe five. I just know that it gets re released, all right. And then here we go Rulers of the Ring rape. That's a badass figure of another badass wrestler and the head sculpted, especially at that time as we're just getting you know, this is early days of the real scan and you know, but still the TTL the Titan Tron figures aren't remembered for their head sculpes, right, but that figure nailed it and it's a it's kind of a work of art. All right, we're powering through this. We're in the home stretch here as we talk about one of the most iconic toy the best, in my opinion, one of the best toy lines to ever come out w W E. Mattel. And this one was a tough one for me because, uh, there was a lot of a lot of different ways you can go with it, and this is we're talking about a toy line you know, their Elite line is over over one hundred how many toy lines do you know that? You know what I'm saying, Hasbro got what six? This worked like a series one hundred and six with the Elite, So it's a lot of ground to cover here. I went with one. It's a ringside exclusive Straight Edge Society CM punk. At that time when this came out, I mean, this thing, this was like a supreme for its time with all of the accessories and all of the things that it came with, and it's also depicting a real cool moment in time in wrestling, and you know all that stuff. Seeing Punk was soon with the Straight Edge Society. It comes with the mask, it comes with a sling, it comes with I believe that was the first time they had seem Punk with the new headscan because he had cut his hair. Obviously that was part of that whole story. So it's it's you know, it's that that figure captures a shift and in time in wrestling and history, because that's you know, that goes from one version of seam punk and that turns into a whole whole other version as we would as history would show, and I'd even argue the that money in the bank seeing Punk could also be a Hall of Fame contender. My next choice Defining Moments, Ricky Steamboat. I mean this thing again, I'll say it again, a work of art and a supreme, an ultimate for its time, with all of the accessories that it came with, and it captured this amazing wrestler and it's like in his most toyatic form. And I remember having the all the pieces and assembling it at all, like the the wings and the head. Great figure. Again, that's just I mean, we're how can you go wrong with that? I think the Bret Hart if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, the defining Moments part Hard is in the Hall of Fame. I think that Steamba belongs in the Hall of fame. That's just me, That's just me. He's a hall of fame wrestler, is he not? And that figure is a hall of fame figure? Questioned me on that, I dare you question me on whether or not that's a Hall of Fame figure, and I will debate it and I'll fight for it, just like I'm gonna fight for this one. This to me was one of my most sought out figures. I remember finding it in Toys r US and being so ecstatic and just holding it in the weight of this figure in my hand. I'm talking about Mattel Elite Series fifteen Yoko Zuna. I mean, they captured an epic wrestler in an epic way, one of my favorite Elite figures of all time. Man, I just the memories I have of getting that Yoko and bringing it home and just you know again, and just the sheer size of this this masted on, this monster. I mean, they nailed it. They nailed it. They really did. My next choice, I mean, listen, this is the Major Wrestling Figure podcast, right, so you know that I gotta get this guy on here, bro, you know it. I'm talking about Elite Series nine Zach Ryder. Look obviously a little bit biased here, but let's not forget the a the height of brosky Mania, right. It comes down into its iconic look, the one leg of tights, it's got the molded on headband, and not only that, but they absolutely nailed his fucking sheer entrance jacket that he was wearing at the time, with the details on top of the mash. Mattel went all out and obviously you know what the figure means to Broski, But yeah, I mean, what else can I say? Are you guys gonna really question whether or not that figure is a Hall of Fame figure? To me, it is? To me it is. I don't know about Matt. I'm not even brown nosing, you know. I'm just calling it like it is because I remember getting that figure. And let me tell you something. I remember getting that figure right, and that was one of those like I was lucky to find at the store. Years later. I was like, you know, years after that figure came out. I remember I was like a Toys r us and I'm looking through the thing and I knew for some reason, I was like, I bet people are hiding shit in these shelves. So I started looking. I'm lifting up the shelves, and believe it or not, I'm starting to find a lot of stuff. In one of the figures I find covered in dust and whatever. It was that Zack Ryder not so mint in the box, but there it was. And obviously I already had the figure, so I was just like, I put it right back on the shelf, and yeah, I don't know why I did that. Should have bought it in retrospect, but it is what it is. And then we're gonna end things with Elite Series three John Tina. Again, it's like, if you're gonna have Series one, Hulkogan has bro in the Series one, Sean Michaels bca like, you gotta have the you gotta have the guy. And they got it down with that figure. Man Mattel nailed those John Cena figures. You can't tell me they have it. It's one of those things where like it's like, obviously you gotta nail the figure down, and it's you get it down, and it's almost like people are not as impressed with it, right, you know, versus going out of the box and doing someone with crazy attire. This is kind of it's simple, but still they get it down perfect. And it's a guy who that's your your standard bird. You go, how do you now have a John Cena figure in this Hall of Fame? Huh? Answer me. And finally, as we wrap this up, we got the miscellaneous section, all sorts of hot punch here, and I had some fun. This was the one I had the most fun with because I said, you know, I've seen some of the stuff people have voted in let's actually take a look. We've had Awa All Stars. The Road Warriors were in the twenty twenty Hall of Fame. We had the Tanka Buddies in twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two, and in twenty twenty three we had in the miscellaneous section. Get this, a figure that was only three years old, a Storm Collectible Juician Thunderliner. Now I was going to pitch I never ended up pitching this, but I was going to suggest this year that we have a modern wing, right, kind of like what the UFC does, They have like a modern wing, which I guess like how would that age? Would that just become a regular wing ten years from now, but you know, you have like figures that are out now that would be available, right. But ultimately they decided that I think there should be They said a five year rule where a figure can't be inducted unless it's been out for more than five years, which you know, I think it's fair because you did have some years where like the Juician Liger got inducted and he had only been out for a few years. The Ultimate Hull Cogan got inducted and he had just been out for a year or two so I get it. But I tell you what, I had some fun with this one. I wanted to go outside the box. I didn't want to put another buddy in the Hall of Fame. We got enough buddies. What about the figure line that started it all, I'm talking about the Popey series one hull Cogin come on now, holl at your boy. I mean this is also like a thing where it's like it's been discussed on the pod at nauseum to the point that Popies made a comeback. You know, it's been covered in vlogs. You gotta have a couple of Popeies in there. And another toy line that gets brought up a lot, or has been brought up a lot on the podcast throughout the years. I'm talking about the Kellyan figures, and I got a couple guys in here. At number two, I'm putting in Raymistereo nineteen ninety four. You gotta have this is Ray's figure. Bro, Come on, bro, and they nailed it too. They weren't messing around like it's not a little bullshit like they they nailed it. Next is a figure that is near and dear to my heart. I hope I didn't mess up by putting this in miscellaneous, but I'm pretty sure it applies. This is the WCW San Francisco toy Maker's LJN Style Series two Vader bow Now. I mentioned earlier that I didn't have a lot of experience with ljns as a child, But did you know? But did you know that one of my first like memories of playing with toys and one of my first action like figures that I had as a little kid was that Vader, that very same LJN style Vader. Again, you gotta put it in, man, I'm sorry. That's a hall of Fame figure for me, and it should be a hall of fame figure for you because it's it's the big Man, It's Vader. I believe that would be his first action figure. No, and I believe he was a Hall of Fame level wrestler, was he not? Next is a figure this is like this was a choice for me because this is one of the first toy lines I learned about outside of what was going on here in the States. I'm talking about the new Japan Chara pro figures. In my opinion, I'm going with this the Luxe Series three Great mooda it comes with the accessories and the mask and the detail on the figure itself is tremendous. Up next, I had to go back and show some love to the toy biz. But obviously at this time was they were like Marvel Toys or whatever they were. It was like, I call it Marvel toy biz, right, and what are you gonna argue with me? You're gonna send the Freedom after me to say, oh, that took you, That took toually Marvel Toys. Yeah, but it was still toy biz at It's hard. But the Jeff Jarrett was the same Jeff Jarrett that they released in a couple of years earlier, you know what I mean. And that being said, my choice series two Shark Boy. Again, you gotta have some people from the early series, and that Shark Boy figure was absolutely perfect. They nailed Shark Boy. They headed down. Was he like a Sting level guy? Was he like aj Styles? No? But one of the reasons I put Shark Boy and it was because, if I'm not mistaken, it was all new tooling, all new molding. A lot of those figures that they used in the early series too, were figures that like they had to use for w CW, and some of the guys still had like the action on them, which I'm not a big action guy. I don't like the action. I'll tell you a secret about me. Any figure that had a fucking lever sticking in the back that you would have to like press down to like throw his arms up, I would, I would chop that off. I would like cut it off so that I can like lay him down flat for the pinfall, you know what I mean. So, I mean that's just me. I'm not a big I'm not a big guy on the action. If I if I recall correctly, like the AJ had the action to the point where like his fucking jacket would have the hole for the lever, like come on, what are we doing? What are we doing here? And then they end up releasing like a proper JA styles. But he was like way taller than the other Toy Biss figures, so that was kind of a mess, but it is what it is. Toy Biz a great line, so much so that I also included Series one Abyss. I mean, come on, I know that one also had an action. I think you squeezed the legs, But the figure as a whole was like pretty good, a pretty good abyss figure, and it's again the start of something at that time, like it was like, oh wait, hold on a second, it's not just WW figures. We're getting these figures. And again just like toy Biz back during the Bunk Engineers, like a lot of these figures had a lot more articulation than ruthless aggression figures. There were you know what I mean, you could do your stuff with them, you know, especially for the wrestlers they had so toy Biz they got to get some love in this Hall of fame. And then we went with U seven Kellyan Official Conan K Dog. We just got the Conan major Bendy. Conan was the biggest star in Mexico at the time of this figure's release. So again to me, that's like looking at a Series one Hull cogin you gotta get the K Dog in there. Then I got San Francisco Toy Makers, CMLL Luke, George Vampiro kind of this in here, a Vampiro super Enconic super Toyatic and that's a great figure of him, his first action figure and some representation on there because you got Triple A. But hey, you also got CMLL on there, So that's you know, mix it up, and then we got Pope, another Pope series one, Antonio and Oki again. This is kind of like a four runner, a front runner of a whole toy line, a wrestling icon in his own right. And then we close it off nineteen ninety five San Francisco Toy Maker Tag team Wrestlers, Harlem heats TV Ray Booker t Holler at your boy, and that's my pick for the twenty twenty four Wrestling Figure Hall of Fame. Let me know what you guys think. That's a little inside baseball. I know it's a lot, but that's just how I feel. That's just how I move, That's just how I do it. It's your boy, Jay George, and you have been listening to the Major Wrestling Figure podcast rewind again. Let me know what you think, Like subscribe, catch me on the flip side.
