Stockton Mortgage MLS eight two five nine, Equal Housing Lender NMLS, Consumer Access dot Org. 00:00:59 Speaker 3: Welcome to our of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now Here's Matt Jones welcome back. 00:01:06 Speaker 4: It is Kentucky Sports Radio. I number two here at Chas Bar and grill Wings day today, Dollar Wings today tonight. Uh, there's trivia tonight, a lot going on, baseball going all night. So should be very very exciting. Got dollar Wings. Not gonna do better than that anywhere on the planet, well maybe planet, but I'm just gonna. 00:01:29 Speaker 5: Say not this good though, these are great. 00:01:31 Speaker 4: That's right. Uh. One person writes, Matt. I watched you. I could see the back of your head on the live stream for the concert. You look to be very happy. I was very happy. Music was great, everything was awesome. I just have two quick things that I would like to say to people when you go to concerts. This is just mine. This is Matt's concert etiquette. Okay, okay, number. 00:01:57 Speaker 3: One Okay, John Mellencamp, No, no. 00:02:03 Speaker 4: I'm not saying shut up, like I'm just saying unless you're like, don't talk loud unless it's like a concert, Shannon, like a like a metal concert where that's what you do. But when someone is singing a slow song, shut up, right, Like how do people talk during the thing? There were people all over the place, and I'm like, why are you talking? Stop. And I'm not trying to be the fun police, but like, if you want to talk to your friends and like in a low voice, but people are like especially they're yelling, and it's like, what are you doing? The second thing is I get it. We all want to sing the song. It's fine, and if it's a loud song, sing it. But when someone is singing a ballad with an acoustic guitar, I should not hear your voice. They have a microphone and they are on stage, and if you are singing louder than them, you are singing too loud. And if you're gonna sing, at least be on beat, at least be singing to where you're not singing. When they've stopped. 00:03:18 Speaker 3: Well, now I'm glad I didn't go because who could have fun around you with all these rules? 00:03:23 Speaker 4: Not Look, this only happened a couple of times, it wasn't. But am I wrong about either of those things? 00:03:29 Speaker 5: Well? 00:03:29 Speaker 6: We all remember one guest that wasn't part of our party. That would my wife alone, and we had to. 00:03:35 Speaker 5: Be like, we just enjoyed it. 00:03:36 Speaker 4: I don't mind. Look, I get it. Whatever, people are trying to have fun. It's just the talking. But the singing ignores the scene. Look, if it's Taylor Swift and you're going chake it off, shake it off, whatever, we can't hear you anyway. But if someone is sitting there singing an acoustic ballad by themselves, like Lady May, you can don't sing, Ryan. 00:03:59 Speaker 5: We came there to hear Tyler Childer sing. 00:04:01 Speaker 4: I could hear you sing anytime, and I wouldn't pay we go. 00:04:07 Speaker 6: I think I did sing a little bit in Your Love. I tried to mumble it though, I just couldn't help myself. 00:04:10 Speaker 7: What a couple of spots like in that one when everybody says Eastern Kentucky. 00:04:13 Speaker 4: Well, first of all, everyone is singing a little bit. I did too, But it shouldn't be so loud that I can hear someone else's voice in a slow song in a like on a fast song. Go for it because that's part of the thing, right, So did. 00:04:27 Speaker 6: You did you have a good time? 00:04:28 Speaker 8: Are you? 00:04:29 Speaker 4: Did you have a great time? 00:04:30 Speaker 5: These are just things. 00:04:31 Speaker 4: I just I feel this at a lot of shows. I just wanted to express it because I feel like it's something people need to think about. Am I wrong about you? I feel like I'm am I I'm not wrong about this. 00:04:42 Speaker 6: We're just playing back the night. I'm like, did I. 00:04:44 Speaker 4: Sing no, no? You? Wasn't you all? Shannon? Am I wrong? 00:04:48 Speaker 3: I mean, I'm fine with people talking and having fun and singing. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to bother you. 00:04:55 Speaker 6: Shannon's affected me yesterday. I have a Tyler Childer's hot I love, and I was afraid to wear it because Shannon' bad. 00:05:00 Speaker 3: That's a tongue in cheek roll. You can wear whatever you want to, You do what you want to do. 00:05:06 Speaker 4: Yeah, but though I'm all right, well, I'm just saying that's my that's my one two pieces of advice. Hurricane Milton. Is it supposed to hit land today? 00:05:17 Speaker 3: There was just a tornado that came through ahead of it. 00:05:20 Speaker 4: Wow. So I mean, you know, it's hard to know on some of this stuff because like part of weather is everything's the worst. But it does seem like this could be the worst, that this could be really really bad. I know, the bear metric pressure got down to the fifth lowest of all time, which I don't even know what those words mean, but apparently that means it's really really bad. I think as I understand it. They're worried about wind, but they're really worried about flooding, about like how high it's going to get, et cetera. The mayor, I mean, the mayor said something to the effect of if you stay here, you will die. Which when I hear that, that feels like to me enough to not argue. I mean, I'm just like, I'm good. But then I was sitting there thinking, I saw that the cameras of the traffic getting out of Florida, it looks so awful. It would almost make me want to stay, just to not be in that traffic. 00:06:22 Speaker 3: Something tells me you would have a way to get ahead of that traffic, though you're so good at getting out. 00:06:25 Speaker 4: Oh I would have laughed last week or something left. But you know what I heard somebody talking on television. It makes sense. You get in that traffic, you use up a lot of gas. The gas stations are running out of gas. I mean, you are kind of in a tough spot. No people who are there. Rental cars are gone. They said there were no rental cars when it started because so many people had lost their cars in the other hurricane, that they were using rental cars as like backup cars. So now there are no cars for anybody to rent. Planes are shut down, so you know, we don't have public transportation of signific in this country. So like it would be scary to kind of be there, Ryan, because who knows. I mean, you saw it happen North Carolina. People got cut off from the world. 00:07:08 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:07:08 Speaker 7: Younger girl's brother was down in Tampa for work and he left at five o'clock yesterday morning. Took him twelve hours to get from Tampa to Atlanta. 00:07:15 Speaker 4: Let's see. That just sounds so awful to me. But you don't have a choice. 00:07:18 Speaker 7: That's a choice, yeah, because you have to keep going because as you went along, there was no hotels. People as they get out of Florida immediately take a hotel. You have to keep going just to find a hotel. 00:07:29 Speaker 6: And my sister lives pretty far south. She was lucky to get on a plane, but she was prepared to make the drive from Fort Lauderdale as far as it took. I can't even imagine how to do that. 00:07:38 Speaker 4: So so you know, I mean, I guess that's all happening tonight. Yeah, so scary, scary prayers to everybody. You know, we were already just gotten hit in other parts of the country. It's a it's a sad it's that sad thing, and you know, hopefully it ends up okay. But when you hear the mayor say if you stay, you will die. 00:08:00 Speaker 5: That's enough for me. I'm out. 00:08:03 Speaker 4: You know, she ends up wrong. I'd want to be on the side of airing, on the side of cost that's right. 00:08:08 Speaker 3: Yeah, she was very blunt though. That was a direct quote. You will die, you will die. 00:08:13 Speaker 4: I mean apparently she meant if you're in one of the eight like they I guess in Tampa they have zones A, B, C, D, and E and F, and like each zone is your greater risk of floods. And she was basically like, if you're A, N, A and B, you will die. Goodness, if you're in C and D, I'd get out, and E and F I'd still get out. But so, I mean, like it's got it. They showed they think it could be fifteen feet of water in Tampa. 00:08:41 Speaker 7: Fifteen feet think about that, that storm surge. That's what's gonna they do a lot of the damage. And so that's why you have to get out of the Where are you gonna. 00:08:49 Speaker 4: Go yeah, so good good luck to everyone who's there. And if you have stuff there that it ends up. Okay, who's next? 00:08:56 Speaker 3: John, John? 00:08:57 Speaker 4: Go ahead? John hey Man, what's up? 00:09:02 Speaker 9: Good to talk to you all again since you were guilty. I just wanted to thank you for running Kyle Perry off and an honor. I might even vote for a Democrat magistrate. 00:09:16 Speaker 4: I feel like a Democrat could be a magistrate. I don't even know what magistrates do, so I feel like if there's anybody we're qualified for that, I don't even know what it is. 00:09:26 Speaker 8: I don't either. 00:09:27 Speaker 9: But anyway, you get a lot of uh, you know, people on Twitter giving you a hard time with what or sometimes you have to block them? 00:09:36 Speaker 4: What do you block? 00:09:37 Speaker 9: Like a would you block like a Louisville fan just for trolling you and just saying typical? 00:09:42 Speaker 4: I block people who are I block people who are mean, like personal. If you get personal with me, it's like a one shot, you're out. So and I saw that December first, Elon Musk is ending all blocks. I think that's so irresponsible because you know, I mean, maybe he doesn't have any like feeling at all, but like people are awful. Some people, most people are wonderful. So but yes, if somebody because who who's got time for it? I mean, like my thing is when people say, why do you get why do you block people? If somebody just walked outside your house and started cussing at you, would you just be like, hey man, nice having you around. 00:10:25 Speaker 9: No, you'd say, I'm just talking about a rivalry kind of thing. 00:10:30 Speaker 8: No. 00:10:30 Speaker 4: I mean, I won't know. If a Louisville fan just writes me and says Kentucky stinks, no, I will not block them. If they say Kentucky sinks and you're a horrible person and blah blah blah, then yes I will block. 00:10:42 Speaker 9: I got blocked by the Louisville guy for saying s MU bullied bullyball Louisville. 00:10:51 Speaker 4: I would not block somebody for that. But but I appreciate the call. But but again, you know, everybody's got different standards. But like nobody, why would anyone sit and listen to people just being awful to you? 00:11:03 Speaker 7: I blocked people when they're awful to you, guys, they've offered to any of us, I'm blocking them. 00:11:07 Speaker 4: Your way to just you block people just for like looking at your own right, which is hard to do. On social media. 00:11:14 Speaker 7: You get on social media for enjoyment and pleasure, not gonna, you know, feel this nasty, nasty filthit's on that. 00:11:21 Speaker 4: The only time I ever like had some sympathy for Matt Bevin was when he went to court saying I should be able to block people and the court said, no, you can't. I kind of thought he should be able to, like just being the governor. That doesn't mean you have to sit there and listen to people, you know, just tell you you're a horrible human being on some level, Like, why do you have to do that? 00:11:42 Speaker 6: I'm confused though, I'm blocked by some people that I don't follow and never tweeted. That one always throws me off. You just end up in someone's profile and you're like, wait, I'm blocked. 00:11:49 Speaker 5: You know who blocked me? 00:11:50 Speaker 4: That I don't even know would have even known I existed? And I've never tweeted. Do you know who Haralabob is? 00:11:57 Speaker 6: I don't think so. 00:11:58 Speaker 5: I've never heard of this. 00:11:59 Speaker 4: Do you do you know who that is? There's a guy named Harala Bob. He like used to go on Bill Simmons Show, and he like made a lot of money sports gambling and then he worked for the Mavericks. And now, like all these tech guys, he thinks he knows everything about the world. And I heard he had said something. I went to look and he blocked me, and it was really confusing. I'm like, I've never spoken to you, How could you even know who I was? 00:12:24 Speaker 3: You know what, I just realized what Rosie O'Donnell won't be blocking me anymore. 00:12:31 Speaker 4: That's right. So see, Shannon's an example of why Shannon's an example of why we have to block people, tweeted her. Yeah, who's up next, Jackie, Jackie? Go ahead, Jackie. 00:12:43 Speaker 10: Hey, you were talking about cal getting back into good graces someday and and you're right to like him and Pope are never going to get into it. But I'm pretty sure Rick wants that Roy Williams coach Emeritis come sit in the stand spot. 00:12:59 Speaker 4: Yeah, and Ring needs But first of all, if you I agree he wants that, but he also needs to slow down. We're not there yet, Like we're he's not Joe B. Hall Rick yet. I mean it's like, come in here and not get booed. It's not you're not Joe B. Yet. You know. 00:13:13 Speaker 10: Yeah, they've got work to do. But if he gets it, if he gets into that spot, there's only room in that spot for one. 00:13:19 Speaker 4: You're exactly right, No, Rupberena is not big enough for Cal and Patino back as the honorary guy. You're exactly right, there'll be one. 00:13:27 Speaker 5: For a while. 00:13:28 Speaker 10: And that was Cal's fun with that lifetime contract. But then everything changed, and as soon as it changed, Rick was all over it. 00:13:35 Speaker 4: You're exactly right. I mean, that's a great point. I appreciate the call. The moment the lifetime contract went out, Rick was like, oh, I can be the next old man to sit in the stand. 00:13:44 Speaker 7: He did kind of play his hand pretty well, didn't he. You know, helped you know, get Pope the fan feeling about Pope. He kind of did it. Helped us out with that video and kuy I've been saying really some nice things about Kentucky. 00:13:56 Speaker 5: So he's played his hand pretty well. 00:13:58 Speaker 6: He knows what he's doing. He sees an opportunity, he's jumping on it. 00:14:00 Speaker 4: Jason said, magistrates do one thing, and that's get you gravel, and some of them go to prison for it's. 00:14:09 Speaker 6: All they do. 00:14:10 Speaker 4: Honestly, in eastern Kentucky. If you're from Eastern Kentucky. You know I'm right about this. The gravel may be the biggest cause of grift in Eastern Kentucky is who gets gravel and who does it? I'm people in thirteenth through sixteenth region know that the fight for gravel is ultimately what most magistrate races go would come down to. 00:14:35 Speaker 6: This is bringing up a KSR memory of what's the uh speak your piece? You'd read them? Yes, one of them was about gravel. 00:14:42 Speaker 4: No speak your piece? In Whitesburg, every edition had a gravel complaint. They'll be like, you want to know who's paying off the politicians? Look and see who gets the gravel. 00:14:53 Speaker 5: I believe it. 00:14:53 Speaker 4: I totally believe it. It's gold around there. Tell me about Stocktor Morton. 00:14:57 Speaker 5: Oh, I gotta get those new copy points. 00:15:00 Speaker 4: Same thing that you should have every show, because we know this is going to come up. 00:15:04 Speaker 7: Here, we go number one. I've got eighteen copy points. I'll just give you. 00:15:08 Speaker 4: Just go to number six, give me number one, number six. Yeah, let's focus on number six, all. 00:15:11 Speaker 5: Right, number six. Spooky season is just. 00:15:15 Speaker 7: Around the corner, Okay, But buying a home doesn't have to be scary. 00:15:19 Speaker 5: Our friend is doctor are here to reassure you. 00:15:21 Speaker 4: I should have picked four. 00:15:22 Speaker 6: I went twelve kids to Well. 00:15:24 Speaker 7: We're gonna hear from Chad, just as Chad who said up his experience is a quote. Everyone tells you all the horror stories of buying a home for the first time. 00:15:32 Speaker 5: That couldn't be further from the truth. When it comes to Stockton Mortgage. 00:15:34 Speaker 7: They have truly gone above and beyond to make this process as easy and effortless as possible. So let them show you how real professionals do it. Stocking Mortgage in MLS eight two five nine equal housing lender. 00:15:45 Speaker 4: Don't say spooky again spooky. See that's so creey. Only you the only person who could make that sound creepy. We'll be right back to kiss, right back, take you. Sports radio. Hey if I'm nine two eighth twenty two eighty seven, text machine seven seven two seven four five two five four. One person writes, good Lord, Matt's take on concerts is terrible. I go to a concert to have fun, not have a NERD tell me how to act. That's not nice. 00:16:14 Speaker 5: I'm blocking that person. 00:16:15 Speaker 4: That's not very nice at all. I'm not telling you how to act. These are rules that should be followed by society. It's not my personal rules. I mean, nobody wants to hear you sing. No one, I mean if unless you yourself. Like if I go to a concert and Tyler Childers is standing in front of me sing my man Yeah, but like Bratt from Harrodsburg. No, that's not why we're there. They get loud songs that's different because I can't hear you, but the soft ones that gets too me, Drew, I'm not gonna lie. 00:16:48 Speaker 6: I thought the talking was much worse tonight than last night than the singing. I can get with you on that rule. 00:16:53 Speaker 4: My friends get mad at me because I'm big on the no talking. I remember we went to a concert. We saw Suitcase Junket up in Newport and it was opening day and my friends had all been drinking and I'm during the concert. I shushed him twice and how you're gonna shush me at a concert? And I said, well, he's singing an emotional song and you're talking about who's getting the next round of Drew. And they still make fun of me for that. If they hear music, everybody like, shut up, my music's on. Matt wants to hear it. 00:17:23 Speaker 6: I didn't know you were a shusher concert, so that changes things. 00:17:26 Speaker 4: Well, there are my friends. I wouldn't shush a stranger, but I. 00:17:28 Speaker 7: Was, especially in the situation last night where you're, you know, we're in kind of like an you know, an intimate area and it's not real many people there. 00:17:34 Speaker 5: You know, you you'd hear people talking. 00:17:37 Speaker 4: Did you? Did you watch anybody see Kenny Brooks yesterday, the women's coach, by the way, What a likable dude. I mean, I he might be my like one of the most likable people I've ever seen. You talk about a guy who loves being here. I mean, the gratitude coming out of his and I liked his honesty. He's like, I don't know how good we are. He was like, we're gonna be good. He was like, I don't know what it's gonna be like. But and then he talked about and he gave like honest assessments of his players. And I don't even know his players, but like he gave like I just I'm gonna I'm gonna be pulling for that guy, like I really, I'm I'm definitely. I I never met him. I taught to him before. It's press conference. He was like, I want you coming one of the early games. I said, I'll be there for the I'm gonna at least go to the Louisville game early in the early in the year. But uh, I liked him a lot. 00:18:31 Speaker 7: And I think they could potentially start their front line six seven, six five six four. 00:18:38 Speaker 4: He told me he has he said he has a lineup. He has he he has a lineup that is six three, six three and a half six four, six seven, six seven. That's crazy, Which that would be like a decent sized college min'sday. 00:18:52 Speaker 5: Yes, it would, you know it would. 00:18:54 Speaker 6: He has some some talent already that you haven't seen come through there in a while. And I I actually think it's kind of unfortunate that Pope gets so much attention because if just off season was just the Brooks Higher, there'd be so much more of him too. Right, It's a lot of the things with Pope, just the appreciation and excitement around him. It helps having that new building too, that just adds to everything. With that women's team, very excited about it. 00:19:15 Speaker 4: I was happy yesterday. 00:19:17 Speaker 8: You know. 00:19:17 Speaker 4: I tried to seem ryan cultural with the player, so I was. I tried to talk Estonia with Kerk Crisa. You know, I was like, I was up there next to you in burberber Bud and then you know, I kind of ran out of Estonia facts. And then the girl on the women's team she's from Portugal, and I was like, oh, I was in Porto. I had a Francesca sandwich and she was like, did you like it? And I didn't want to go no, it was terrible, which it was. I just went, yeah, it's very unique. 00:19:46 Speaker 8: You know. 00:19:46 Speaker 4: We talked about the Harry Potter bookstore and like, I just felt like relating to people. 00:19:51 Speaker 7: Drew Ryan, you know, I didn't want to ask you one more thing about media Day. Yeah you posted about Roscoe. I don't want to talk about it. First of all, Roscoe was awesome. Roscoe was a little kid. He was great. 00:20:02 Speaker 4: He was awesome. I got frustrated by, as always, adults getting away, but Roscoe was awesome. 00:20:09 Speaker 5: He seemed like he was awesome. 00:20:10 Speaker 4: I'm sure you'll see more of the content. This little kid. He went around and he interviewed the players and it was really funny and it. 00:20:16 Speaker 6: Was but he asked Pope's first question too. I didn't know, but adults adults always getting away. I'll just leave it. Then, who's next? 00:20:24 Speaker 3: Johnny Versaci? 00:20:25 Speaker 4: Johnny Versacci? 00:20:26 Speaker 11: Go ahead, Yeah, Matt, I really really really like Mark Pope. I'm really excited about what he's doing. But the one downside, and I knew it was coming, is it's gonna bring Rick back in here, and. 00:20:40 Speaker 4: I see you. You never Johnny liked Rick? So are you? Are you in the Marsha category? 00:20:47 Speaker 11: I liked Rick when he was here, but I really didn't like the way he talked to the fans a lot of times, and he and I felt like he really didn't value the history of Kentucky. It started with Rick Patino. Okay for me, Well, you know, I had no problem with him leaving and going to the Celtics, but he could have took a number of jobs. He took Louisville for the sole purpose of people forgetting about how terrible he was at the Boston Celtics. 00:21:18 Speaker 4: I totally agree with that. Like you, I'm with you on everything. I guess the question then would be, Johnny, do you not have it in your heart to forget? 00:21:30 Speaker 11: I mean, yeah, I mean I forgive him, but at the same time, I much prefer him being associated with Louisville. 00:21:37 Speaker 4: Now he's a pair coach. They can have him. 00:21:41 Speaker 11: He's got his tattoo, and he did everything that he did there and and knew about it. 00:21:47 Speaker 4: And if so, let's say, Johnny, you're sitting in there, you're sitting in rupperina, or you're sitting in uh croger field. They walk in and they go, ladies and gentlemen. His return nineteen ninety six National Championship coach Rick Beatino, what are you doing. 00:22:06 Speaker 11: Uh booing and talking about strippers and prostitutes. 00:22:10 Speaker 4: Okay, so you're not only booing, you're heckling. That's right, Okay, all right, fair enough. I appreciate the call like he's being honest. He's not only not clapping, he is booing and he's heckling. 00:22:21 Speaker 7: There are people like Johnny and like Marcia that are going to not be easily swayed. 00:22:26 Speaker 6: Well, that's my point why I don't think we should rush to honor him. If there's gonna be booing, we'll get to it eventually. I mean, the thirty year reunion of the titles just a couple years away. Do it that we don't have to do it the moment Mark Pope gets the job. 00:22:38 Speaker 4: You gotta love, Johnny, I'm not only booing, I'm yelling about strippers and. 00:22:44 Speaker 3: Prostest that might trigger another middle finger. 00:22:46 Speaker 4: That's yeah, that's a good way to get our second middle finger, uh from Fatino at a UK game? Is if that ended up? 00:22:56 Speaker 6: If he doubled down with another finger, I think I would just wait here. 00:22:58 Speaker 4: What's your prediction at the game? Is he gonna they're gonna do they introduce him at all? I say yes, with Pope, you think they introduced him. 00:23:07 Speaker 7: We've got a little I think Pope and maybe even some of the ninety six guys. 00:23:11 Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's a group thing. 00:23:12 Speaker 12: Yeah, that's the smart way to do it. That's way tiptoe in the smart way. That's like not about him, it's about them. That's like putting the foot in. You're not doing the whole cold plunge. You're kind of doing. Yeah, I got you. We'll take a break. 00:23:24 Speaker 4: A five nine, twenty two eighty seven is Kentucky Sports Radio. TJ Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:31 Speaker 6: He'll make them. 00:23:31 Speaker 3: Pay Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:37 Speaker 4: Welcome back, Tukey Sports Radio here at the KS Bar and Grill so Friday, and we're gonna work to play the ninety six game all day. We're doing the remote at Kentucky Branded and then we're gonna maybe hopefully loop the ninety six title game all day leading into big Blue Madness that night. That is so cool. 00:23:56 Speaker 7: I mean, that was just you know, what's what's the first thing you think of when you think of that game? 00:24:00 Speaker 4: I personally think of Tony Dell hitting the three and hitting foul. That's what I think. 00:24:05 Speaker 7: That's the signature moment from that game. He gets fouled in the corner and Jeff Shepherd and all the guys are like pounding on his chest. 00:24:11 Speaker 5: Ass. 00:24:11 Speaker 4: That's an interesting question. I'll give you. I'll give you some some big time games. You tell me the moment, all right that sticks out to you, The Kentucky moment, all right, the Kentucky moment, Duke, Is it Sean Woods? 00:24:29 Speaker 5: What I thought of? 00:24:29 Speaker 4: Yeah? I think it's probably Sean Wood's ninety eight title game. Jeff Shepherd running and getting the dunk. 00:24:38 Speaker 5: Breakaway dunk. That's when we kind of knew we're gonna win this thing, all. 00:24:41 Speaker 6: Right, When I think of that team and the title. I still think of Paget and Duke, even though it's not the championship. 00:24:46 Speaker 4: No, no, no, that is my image. There actually have a lot of images from the ninety eight Duke game. You've got the Paget three. You've got the Mills three with mcglore hitting everybody, with the Towe running on the sideline, right, those those are a few, and then of course Tubby jumping at the end. All right, what about twenty twelve. What's the moment of that. 00:25:12 Speaker 7: When you said that the fro I thought it was Anthony Davis who blocked that shot from. 00:25:15 Speaker 4: Behind mineus him going this is my State against Louisville, which I know is not the title game, but I think that's when when he's pointing and he's actually, we're gonna say he said State. He might have said a different S word, but I always like to say that he said the State. 00:25:32 Speaker 6: Dron Lamb. I mean, I don't know these guys you're talking about. Lamb was the star of that game. 00:25:36 Speaker 4: Yeah, I too. If I said the twenty fifteen season, what's the one you remember? 00:25:44 Speaker 6: Oh my goodness, how much time you got the beatdown that occurred in Chicago. Cla came to mind first. 00:25:51 Speaker 4: That was great. I kind of think of Carl hitting the fade away against Notre Dame in the Elite eight. That kind of sealed that game. 00:26:00 Speaker 6: I wish we would have done those little Morgan's Wisconsin. 00:26:02 Speaker 4: Yeah. So if I say, all right, give me the five best images, We've talked a lot of sort of negative col last two days. Five best images of the col era, what are they? I think you gotta have Anthony Davis probably blocking the shot or something national time, when they mess up his hair, when they mess up his hair on the twenty twelve National Championship, I'm gonna say John Wall crossing them over and Duncan against North Carolina, or his dancing while doing the dance is a really good one. I'll say Aaron Harrison just I'm gonna montage all those threes into sort of an image. 00:26:45 Speaker 6: Is taking me to a great place. 00:26:46 Speaker 5: DeMarcus Cousins call me demark Well. 00:26:49 Speaker 4: I was gonna say, DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall at the SEC Tournament. Yeah, I think that's one of those. Kind of really Brandon Knight's little jumper against Ohio State popping the jersey and popping the jersey. Yep, that's really good. Fox against ball, Fox against uh Lonzo Alonzo ball in Memphis. 00:27:12 Speaker 6: Ulis bleeding at Louisville. 00:27:14 Speaker 5: That's a good one. 00:27:14 Speaker 4: That's a really good one. Uless bleed, bleeding at Louisville. I like that one a lot. 00:27:22 Speaker 5: We haven't said anything like the last five. 00:27:23 Speaker 4: Antonio Reeves at Arkansas two years ago when Antonio Reeves just just would not miss when we just ran them out uh in Arkansas. 00:27:36 Speaker 6: Willy dunking at Florida. Oh, that's making that guy from Cincinnati quit basketball. 00:27:41 Speaker 4: Willy dunking at Florida on that guy's head is. We saw Rock Oliver at Media Day and I said to Drew Rock Oliver will be the last thing standing in Lexington like Colin will be. He will outlive us all and he will be working at UK until the end of time. He generations think about this. He has survived not only multiple coaches, He's been in two sports. He's done football in basketball. 00:28:19 Speaker 7: As aged a day in thirty years. Looked exactly the same first time I saw him in the early nineties. 00:28:24 Speaker 4: So those are all those are all good, good, good memories. Who's next? Nick, Nick, go ahead and Nick, And this. 00:28:31 Speaker 13: Isn't why I called. But what about was there a game where like West Virginia was talking a bunch of us? 00:28:37 Speaker 8: That was? 00:28:37 Speaker 4: That was twenty fifteen in the tournament. I have two really good West Virginia memories. The way we beat him down in the tournament and then Kevin Knox hitting that three to beat him down in Morgantown. That was. That was we were there. That was an awesome, awesome comeback on the road. 00:28:53 Speaker 8: Oh yeah, that was great. 00:28:54 Speaker 13: I do have something random as can be figure good for the show and everything. And Ron, if you will allow me, over the last couple of years, every time you've got tongue tied instead of quote a little off, I wrote it down in my notes. 00:29:06 Speaker 8: App. 00:29:09 Speaker 4: I'll tell you what I can't. We can't read them all. Give me two or three of your favorites. 00:29:14 Speaker 13: Okay, two three of my favorite A gym host is on top of the triangle. 00:29:21 Speaker 4: Jims is on top of the triangle. I would not be comfortable. Okay, all right? 00:29:25 Speaker 13: What else you can't tell people to not die? 00:29:31 Speaker 5: Well, that's true. I think it's Sack. 00:29:33 Speaker 4: You know what he's I remember you saying that you were you were talking, you were talking about what we were talking about. What do you do on the homeless person Supreme Court case? And you said you can't tell people to not die, which which is true. That that's exactly right. 00:29:49 Speaker 13: A really good one on the same lines is when God pulls your trigger. 00:29:53 Speaker 7: Yeah, again, I think that speaks for insult. 00:30:00 Speaker 4: We have a coffee table book, you know what, sir, you have like, that's that's gold writing down Ryan Ryan quotes when God pulls your trigger. Yeah, that's a great Ryde limic quote. That could be a shirt. All right, I appreciate it, sir, Thank you very much. I know this was not on your bingo card to what we're gonna talk about. But I bet a lot of you didn't know hockey started last night. Miss that really, I'm sure that didn't get on everyone's radar. But the NHL season has started and one of the things I always like to do is we pick who's going to be in the Stanley cupp. Oh, here we go. It's always it's always a good a good battle. We're usually not close to correct Shannon, who's gonna be in the Stanley Cup Final? 00:30:45 Speaker 3: First of all, why do you think I didn't go to the concert last night. I was sitting home watching the Stanley Cup. I got to I'm gonna go with the Panthers. 00:30:54 Speaker 4: Panthers they won it last year, so that's a good. 00:30:56 Speaker 3: Call, and the Vegas Golden Knights bad. 00:31:00 Speaker 4: Those two teams have been very good in the last few years. What about you. 00:31:04 Speaker 6: There's no one who knows less about the NHL than me. But I'm very confident that the Detroit Red Wings Troit red will meet. I'm not even sure what conference these people are in. Uh Saint Louis Blues. I think they're both in the West. In that case, in the conference championship to move on. 00:31:27 Speaker 4: Are in the But ain't the Blues like one of the worst teams. Were they beat a team you got Detroit Saint Louis, that'd be quite a matchup. Too close teams, Ryan, You're always good at this. 00:31:45 Speaker 7: Well because I picked Tampa Bay every time my parents used to live there. I've picked Tampa Bay every year and they've been really good. I'm gonna pick Tampa Bay. But I don't know if the right conference are The Predators are there, they're in the West. Yeah, I'm on Tampa Bay. Predators, Tampa Bay Predator. All right, I'm gonna go with the Carolina Hurricanes. Of course, got some new team players. This year might not be quite as good, but we're gonna be ready for the playoffs. 00:32:05 Speaker 4: Got a uh, we do have a ho. We got Zvechtakoff. We got rid of some people. We got rid of Brady Shay and some of those. But I got some new guys, some young guys. We're gonna take on uh in the files, We're gonna take on the Colorado Avalanche. Okay, that's what that's what's gonna happen. He's up now close. 00:32:21 Speaker 3: Let's go to Michael. 00:32:23 Speaker 4: Michael, go ahead, Michael. 00:32:25 Speaker 8: Hey, appreciate your guys show. I got a question. I'm driving down next week from Indiana, and I was wanting to see if you if you're gonna be at the Bar on Tuesday for your live show. 00:32:36 Speaker 4: Let me see. I think yes, I will. We will probably again, we don't always know. Mario puts the schedule out Sunday, but I think right now we will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday next week. I know Monday I have to be in Louis, so it'll be Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, so. 00:32:53 Speaker 8: I can if the show starts at tim and you can come in at tim. 00:32:56 Speaker 4: Yes you can't, we don't open the service till eleven, but you can come in at too. 00:33:00 Speaker 8: Perfect. I'm looking forward to meeting Ryan again. I do have one thing you're talking about coach Patino and some of his past teams. One of my favorite games was I believe it was in nineteen ninety five SEC tournament against Arkansas. We were down well, eighteen points in the first half. We were down nine points in overtime, came back and won. Uh Antoine Walker with the shimmy. 00:33:25 Speaker 4: That was just a That was a great game. That was in Memphis. Yeah, it's a great game. Agreciate the call. No, that was that was right after he passed, so I did. That was the that was I think that was the first one I missed. 00:33:39 Speaker 7: You mentioned one the other day. That was it the ninety two when you went was that the win in Birmingham? Such a great tournament. 00:33:46 Speaker 4: It was in Burbida that that ninety two tournament. I've said that many times. I think it's it's the best SEC tournament. 00:33:52 Speaker 5: Of all other people have said that. 00:33:53 Speaker 4: You had Tennessee and LSU getting the fight. Shaquille O'Neill Dale Brown punches Carlos Girl tries to in the quarterfinals, Uh, Kentucky. It was Kentucky and Tennessee, I believe, in the quarter and the semis, and then Alabama and Arkansas played in the semi finals, I think, and maybe the best game I've ever seen. Arkansas had Todd Day, Lee Mayberry and Oliver Miller and Alabama had James Hollywood, Robinson, Latrell spree Well and Robert Rory. All those dudes were on the same court and mcdce I think, all on the same court. And that was that was And I think those two teams, if I'm correct, like went into overtime and wore each other out. Alabama won, and then I think Kentucky beat Alabama in the finals. In the finals, Yeah, I think that's I think I'm right about that. But what you reach and you remember then the LSU team that year had Shack I'm Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts. So that that, I mean, when is the SEC ever had more talent than that. 00:34:55 Speaker 3: The national championship team right there in LSU with those three guys. 00:34:58 Speaker 4: Yeah, and they ended up and they lost I think in the quarterfinals because Shaq got in a fight. So anyway, hey, uh, if you if you wouldn't buy tickets to a big game and then not go, so why pay for your health benefits and not use them? Court physical therapy. So bringing friends or just you know, come by yourself. Crowd fall break, yes, fall breaks everywhere? All right, So I'm gonna read, So I'm gonna do this Commonwealth causes and then also talk about the blue White thing. Shannon, are the phone lines clear? 00:36:05 Speaker 3: No, we've got a few callers. 00:36:07 Speaker 4: Okay, you want to get my way, I'll get my first finalist tomorrow. I was gonna get it today, I'll get it tomorrow. But uh come wealth cause remember the Blue White Game is next Friday. Money is going in ale Club Blueanile dot com. You can learn a lot more about it. Let me tell you a little bit about the game. Okay, because I learned about what's gonna happen. Not only is there gonna be the Blue White Game, it is not gonna be on television, so the people who go will be the only people who can see it. So that's kind of unique. But here are of the people that win. When you buy tickets that holds six thousand people, five hundred people of the six thousand, so one out of twelve are going to be selected for an experience. That experience could mean meet the team pregame. There'll be a group of people that are selected to meet the team pregame, There'll be a people a group of people who are selected to meet the coaches pre game. There's gonna be a group of people who get to do stuff out on the court. But if you buy a ticket, five hundred of the tickets will be selected and you'll get noticed, I think the day before you have been selected for this, and then there will be stuff that goes on during it. But that means basically you have like a well if it sells out, you have like a one in ten chance basically to do it. So ten, So you're gonna buy. You're gonna buy these and all of a sudden, get an experience. Now the one I give away on this show, I'm gonna give away two tickets to the game. And here's what the people that the KSR will receive. Okay, one of you listeners is gonna receive this two center court lower level tickets. You get to go to the pregame team meet and greet. You get to go to the pre game practice walk through in the Joe Craft gym. You get to do an intro with one of the players and be the secret handshake. 00:38:12 Speaker 5: I like that. 00:38:14 Speaker 4: You get Low's Club access during the game, and you get to be an assistant coach for one of the quarters of the Guess. 00:38:21 Speaker 5: Wow, how about that. That's a heck of a package. 00:38:25 Speaker 4: So somebody here is gonna win all that. Now is that worth more than the trip to the Bahamas? I don't know. It depends because you can't buy this. That's true, right, So here's what I'm gonna do. I was gonna start today, but I'll wait and start tomorrow. I'm gonna get six finalists every day, all right, who then will have a final playoff for the Ultimate UK Fan Experience. Nice. We'll pick some of them on the radio. I'm going to pick one at Friday at Kentucky Brandon from the people who come who come to that, and it should be exciting, Like I mean, you're gonna get to do more stuff than we've ever done as part of it. 00:39:02 Speaker 6: We could have used some extra assistant coaches a year ago, somebody out there. 00:39:06 Speaker 4: You could do some film study. It would have been nice to have them have him last year. Jokes. 00:39:11 Speaker 6: That is really cool. It's very cool, not even just the contest, just giving fans, allowing them to be a part of it. I know you can't have all six thousand do something, but getting five hundred people in the experience, that's crazy. 00:39:23 Speaker 4: So we'll do it on the radio. I'll probably give one on my social media, maybe on my U. The TikTok or Twitter is a hassle, so it'll probably be Instagram or TikTok Ky Sports Radio and on TikTok I'm Matt Jones KSR SO anyway, and then we'll get the finalists. Thursday, we'll have the contest and then somebody will get to do all this stuff and Mario will film you and your person getting to uh getting to do all. 00:39:47 Speaker 7: Of them at the heck of a package, like even the just the first one you get to meet the team. 00:39:51 Speaker 5: Oh that's awesome. Oh but there's more you get. 00:39:52 Speaker 4: To meet there. That's right. Who's up next year? 00:39:57 Speaker 3: Keith? 00:39:57 Speaker 4: Keith? 00:39:58 Speaker 14: Go ahead, Keith Matt first time? Long time? 00:40:01 Speaker 4: Who? All right? 00:40:03 Speaker 14: I got advice. I need advice from you and Drew for a friend of mine, because I know you guys can help me expertise. He placed a fifty dollars bet earlier in the year on the Celtics to win the NBA Finals, for the Panthers to win the Stanley Cup, the Yankees to win the World Series. If it all hits, it's twenty two thousand dollars. 00:40:23 Speaker 4: Then the Celtics have already won. 00:40:26 Speaker 14: The Celtics won, and so did the Panthers. 00:40:28 Speaker 4: So basically, fifty dollars to win twenty two he gets twenty two thousand dollars if the Yankees win the World Series. 00:40:38 Speaker 14: Right, yes, but he's starting to get asked for a patent. Forty two hundred right now, not. 00:40:44 Speaker 4: Too low, don't take the forty two hundred. Here's what I would do, okay. I would place a small wager on the Royals to win that series. Okay, okay, And I would do that again as the Yankee. He's move on. But I but if you do that, I think you can make it to where you win more than the four thousand dollars. Now, you know some people, Drew's one of these dudes. He likes to let it ride this. 00:41:14 Speaker 6: I mean, there's circumstances where I mean, it's pretty. 00:41:18 Speaker 4: Series one one. What I would do is, I would say, like, you're gonna get decent odds on the Royals now to win the series? What and I would say, take like five thousand bucks, maybe put it on the Royals. I'd do the same thing the next round, and maybe the same thing the next round. And you know, it's three thousand dollars, you at least win something. And then if he wins the whole thing, he's lost. He's you know, he's won nineteen thousand instead of twenty two. That's what I do. 00:41:49 Speaker 14: Okay, awesome man, thank you for the help appreciate it. 00:41:52 Speaker 4: What would you do? 00:41:54 Speaker 6: I'm bound with knowing the Yankees' chances I've known me, I'd probably let it go another round of baseball because there's still three rounds. 00:42:03 Speaker 4: Lest Yeah, the thing is baseball so random though, you know. I mean, like the best team doesn't win all the time in. 00:42:09 Speaker 6: Base you can wait for an elimination game that they're up against and then then on the other team, maybe out of money, just every time their backs against it. 00:42:16 Speaker 4: I'd be worried the Royals win today and then go down, the odds go down, and then yeah, so but if the Yankees win today, you you know, so, then you can. It's all a risk. Life's a risk. How old are you, sir? What's your birthday? 00:42:29 Speaker 8: Your day? 00:42:30 Speaker 4: Is your birthday? Well, forty three, so let me do the math. Fifty seven sixties, so you're uh, you're seventy or eighty one, eighty one years old? Birthday, Happy birthday day. Say thank you very much for coming out here for your eighty first birthday. We'll see you later, be back here tomorrow. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio
