00:00:01
Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome back to BETS your Happy Hour.

00:00:03
Speaker 2: I'm Joe and I'm Serena, and we.

00:00:05
Speaker 1: Are here to recap episode two. And we have Alison and Lauren coming on later this week. Which really really upset about Lauren going home.

00:00:16
Speaker 3: I know she was an early fan favorite, she was an early favorite for us. I just feel like she had more life to live on this show. I'm really disappointed that she left, and it felt like it kind of came out of nowhere. So I'm excited to hear more about like her thought process behind it.

00:00:30
Speaker 1: She's spiral, she spiraled out of control and then she she left.

00:00:34
Speaker 2: Maybe or maybe there was more to the story.

00:00:36
Speaker 1: I think she regrets it.

00:00:37
Speaker 3: You think, So you think if we ask her she regrets it, she says yes, Yeah, I think she says no, Okay, So we'll ask them about that. About how they got on the show, About this guy that they both dated, yeah, the overlap.

00:00:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, let's get into let's recap episode two.

00:00:56
Speaker 2: All right, let's do it.

00:00:57
Speaker 1: What do we got first?

00:00:58
Speaker 3: Well, first thing we got is the first group date of the season, which is always the most exciting, I feel like, and it was a bridal group.

00:01:09
Speaker 1: Date, I can't believe that. What was What is with all these reality shows making women put on bride isn't it bad luck to wear a wedding dress before your actual wedding?

00:01:22
Speaker 2: What do you mean all these reality shows? What other reality shows have done this?

00:01:25
Speaker 1: I just feel like I feel like there's other shows that have done this.

00:01:28
Speaker 3: Okay, well, I don't know about the other shows, but Batchler has done this like three times.

00:01:32
Speaker 2: I did a bridal date.

00:01:33
Speaker 1: Isn't it bad luck?

00:01:35
Speaker 2: Is bad luck?

00:01:36
Speaker 3: Technically is bad luck? Technically it is bad luck to see the bride in a wedding dress before the wedding day. But I think at the end of the day, like the odds only one person is going to be his bride, so they're like, let's just risk it.

00:01:51
Speaker 2: Maybe she's not on this date.

00:01:52
Speaker 1: Do I think she was on the date?

00:01:54
Speaker 2: I don't know.

00:01:55
Speaker 3: It's too early to tell. Joe's already making a bunch of predictions and guesses.

00:01:59
Speaker 1: But yeah, I've done making predictions.

00:02:01
Speaker 2: Oh okay, never mind, never mind, I'm.

00:02:02
Speaker 1: Gonna I'm gonna but I'm gonna go I'm gonna say that his bride was not on that date.

00:02:07
Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay, all right, So well, they put them all on wedding dresses, they shipped them off to their wedding with Joey.

00:02:16
Speaker 2: I thought it was fun, it was cute. It was a little different like my season. We did a bridal photo shoot.

00:02:21
Speaker 3: I think that's what a lot of the seasons in the past have done too, So I like that they changed up the concept a little bit. The first thing we see on this date is Lauren struggling in the limo and she opens up about.

00:02:35
Speaker 2: The fact that her dad passed away.

00:02:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, and that she's struggling because she's realizing that he won't be at her wedding and she's kind of grieving a lot on this date, which, honestly, like I felt really bad that she had to be on this date, like bad luck at the draw to group date, she has to be on the one that's the wedding date after going through that, that would be really really challenging.

00:02:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's uh, that's pretty sad, and it's like I could see that being tough, So I think it's I think it was very relatable what she was going through, so feel for her.

00:03:09
Speaker 3: Sorry, Well, usually I feel like it's very relatable either of us can relate to that.

00:03:15
Speaker 1: We can't relate to it, but I think a lot of people could.

00:03:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure.

00:03:18
Speaker 3: Like as a girl, like if I lost my dad, a huge thing that I would think about if I wasn't married yet, would be, oh my god, he's not gonna be there like a father daughter dance walk down the aisle like that date I would imagine was quite triggering for her.

00:03:33
Speaker 1: And we have Rachel, who I think is the standout.

00:03:38
Speaker 3: Rachel is definitely the standard on this day. I love her, I know you do. Oh my god, I'm obsessed with her. I know you liked her a lot too. Yeah, she said thought she was really smart and really classy.

00:03:48
Speaker 1: Yeah. I really like the way she handles herself. She she to me, seems to be the most confident woman in the house.

00:03:56
Speaker 2: She's very confident.

00:03:58
Speaker 3: I feel like we're over using confident that now we've called like so many people on this season confidence.

00:04:02
Speaker 1: Okay, well, I say she's number one.

00:04:04
Speaker 2: Number one, Okay.

00:04:05
Speaker 3: I feel like she just screams like I'm a catch, I'm wife material, I've got my shit together.

00:04:12
Speaker 1: Yeah that's what you said about her, Is she's wife material?

00:04:15
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:04:15
Speaker 3: And she just seems so cool and classy and I love her. So she was the standout and I obviously Joey thought so too, because he gave her the one on one first dance, which was kind of like special extra time.

00:04:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, but in front of all the girls, Yeah, I know, and and then you kiss and then everyone sees it.

00:04:35
Speaker 3: I'd probably be like, could I just like clock in in actually like ten minutes talking to him tonight.

00:04:40
Speaker 1: But you could you could tell that all the other girls like her because they're like happy for her.

00:04:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, totally, But it's also so early on though.

00:04:47
Speaker 3: Everyone everyone's still in the phase of like everyone, we're so happy for you, Like it's it continues, but it also doesn't you know.

00:04:57
Speaker 1: Was it on this date? It was on this date where Jess also just got the rose on the state Yeah, because she cried about her ax.

00:05:06
Speaker 3: Yes, there's a lot of tears this episode, like a lot. I feel like, I feel like there was like five or six women that were crying, which is totally fine, like bury your soul all of that. We love vulnerability here, but I kind of it's.

00:05:21
Speaker 1: A little soon.

00:05:22
Speaker 3: Well it's early on for this my people to be crying. So it did catch me off guard. I feel for Joey as someone who I don't consider myself like a plus plus in the comforting people I don't know while crying department. And I think that would be something if I was the lead I would struggle with because I would want to do a really good job and I would want to make everyone feel like seen and heard and comfortable. But naturally I would feel really anxious and not know what to say.

00:05:53
Speaker 1: I hear your year, I would be terrible at it.

00:05:56
Speaker 2: You would not be able to do it.

00:05:58
Speaker 1: He's doing a great job.

00:05:59
Speaker 2: He's doing an amazing job. But I just like put myself in his shoes and it gives me a little bit of stress with like watching like woman after woman just like telling him these like really vulnerable things and getting so emotional. But Joe's doing a great job and the women are doing a great job too. I just I think this is well.

00:06:18
Speaker 1: I think I think what we want to see right now there is well, and I think we want to see him having a lot of like a lot of fun.

00:06:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, at the.

00:06:26
Speaker 1: Beginning, totally.

00:06:27
Speaker 3: I feel like the beginning of the season is usually lighthearted and fun and sexy, and we've got like Evelyn jumping over a table and she just was the musical chairs got real competitive, I guess, but we've got things like that, you know what I mean, where it's just all Rachel dancing and they're kissing and it's flirty. Like I feel like the journey through the season is meant to be like the journey through a relationship. You know, it's like playful and then it gets more serious. And I feel like we've started off with a lot of really serious conversations right out of the gate, which maybe means that the women.

00:06:58
Speaker 2: Are taking it really seriously.

00:07:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, and also I feel like, I guess when you make them all put on wedding dresses, it's kind of bound to get somewhat emotional.

00:07:10
Speaker 3: Maybe you're right, maybe the wedding dress just brought up all those feels for people. I also think Joey's got this like comforting persona, Like they all seem to be really comfortable around him, and maybe it's just encouraging them to open up faster than what we've seen in the past.

00:07:25
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:07:26
Speaker 3: Okay, so Rachel gives a speech, she gets the first dance, the party seems like a good time, and now we're moving into that portion with the cocktail party. First person he chats with is Maria.

00:07:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, oh yeah, this is good. And then Maria golles and she puts on a different dress.

00:07:44
Speaker 2: Yep, a little fit chained.

00:07:46
Speaker 1: What does he keep saying?

00:07:48
Speaker 2: He keeps saying, he's going to keep you on my toes. This girl's going to keep me on my toes.

00:07:53
Speaker 3: I'm like, just say, you're incredibly sexually attracted her.

00:07:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he's. I think he's really into her. You could tell. Yeah, when there's like sexual chemistry, it's pretty obvious. Yes, I would say so far, that's the only one that we've seen where there's like strong sexual chemistry, the.

00:08:16
Speaker 2: Only relationship we've seen.

00:08:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they definitely have the strongest sexual chemistry between the two of them. I also think Maria is very, very flirty and playful, so she is like kind of bringing that to the table. I also think they just have good like chemistry chemistry, Like their banter is really fine and it's playful. I'm curious to see if that relationship kind of stays on that track or if they are able to turn it into something more serious.

00:08:42
Speaker 1: Yeah you know what I mean, Well, she gets into a fight later on in the episode, we'll talk about yeah.

00:08:48
Speaker 3: A little a little drama later on, and then Jess opens up about her past.

00:08:55
Speaker 2: And having been cheated on.

00:08:57
Speaker 3: This was a serious fun moment in a serious conversation where she goes, you know, it was really hard. There was multiple fidelities and Joey goes from him and she was like, yeah, Joe And I really imagine she was like, no, me, like I.

00:09:11
Speaker 2: Cheated on him a whole bunch.

00:09:12
Speaker 1: She was so tough.

00:09:13
Speaker 2: It was so hard, and just kind of opens up about how she, you know, is shutting down and she doesn't want to. He seems really into her.

00:09:22
Speaker 1: I was gonna say, he must really like her because he gives her the rose and she she's the first girl that he kissed.

00:09:30
Speaker 2: She yes, she was the first girl he kissed on night one, and now she's gotten the first group date rows.

00:09:36
Speaker 3: So oh, so there's definitely some chemistry there. I just I don't really see it, if I'm being honest, I don't know. I like her and I like him, but I don't know if I see like the chemistry.

00:09:52
Speaker 1: Like you said, it's early. I don't think we're seeing it. We're not really seeing any yet. The only what we're seeing is him and mar Yeah, as far as like, I guess so, sexual chemistry.

00:10:03
Speaker 2: I guess so.

00:10:10
Speaker 3: And then Lauren opens up about what she's been struggling with on the group date with her dad. She says that he passed seven months ago, which wow, is Yeah, spend a lot of times.

00:10:23
Speaker 2: So I can imagine.

00:10:24
Speaker 3: She says, you know, grief isn't linear and it can come up at any time. I thought she it was a really good conversation. I thought she did a really good job of handling it.

00:10:33
Speaker 2: I'm sure it's not easy to talk about or like explain to someone what it's like to lose a father seven months ago and now be on this like crazy dating reality show where you're in a wedding dress all day.

00:10:43
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, talk talking about your feelings opening up. Okay, So then we go to first who gets the first date of the.

00:10:51
Speaker 2: Season, first one on one date? Daisy? Daisy's in your top four and my top four.

00:10:56
Speaker 1: Daisy's in my top four. Damn.

00:10:59
Speaker 2: Yeah that was a good one. Yeah, I really like her.

00:11:04
Speaker 1: How do you not like?

00:11:05
Speaker 2: I know what?

00:11:05
Speaker 1: I think everyone knows it. I think the show knows it. I think the audience. Everyone's like, yeah, how do you not? Yeah, she's she's great.

00:11:12
Speaker 2: She is great.

00:11:13
Speaker 3: So they do a helicopter date, classic bachelor fashion, iconic moment to beach life ranch.

00:11:20
Speaker 2: I think is what it was called. What was it?

00:11:23
Speaker 1: I think it was.

00:11:23
Speaker 2: It was giving like mini country music festival.

00:11:26
Speaker 1: I think that's exactly what it was.

00:11:27
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:11:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, so they're at this concert. I think he really likes her, and I think she really likes him. You could you could see that?

00:11:35
Speaker 2: Yes, I see the chemistry with those two.

00:11:37
Speaker 3: I really see it. I think they really get along. She's so freaking cute.

00:11:41
Speaker 1: She has a bubbly personality, she scrap in the whole time, and.

00:11:44
Speaker 3: He's got like quite like chill personality. I feel like they matched. She's like giggling. It just really feels like a good first date. Like it's like watching it, I'm like, this is what I feel like i'd be watching if you guys were just like out and about together and real world.

00:12:01
Speaker 1: Yep. And then she opens up to him at the night portion. But everything she's been through, yes, which is wild. Oh yeah, her story's pretty pretty crazy.

00:12:11
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, like very I didn't you know, I didn't realize by Actually, I have a friend now that has lime disease, But like I didn't when lime.

00:12:22
Speaker 1: Disease first came, Like I didn't realize. I didn't realize how detrimental line disease could be to someone totally.

00:12:30
Speaker 3: I didn't know either. I didn't know the extent of it. I really just thought it was like, you're sick. We know a few people actually who have had lime desea. I feel like it presents itself differently, like there's a kind of a scale of how it presents itself, right, And it sounds like I mean, I would love to ask for this. I'm sure we'll have her on the podcast eventually, but it does seem like she was on the more extreme severe end of the scale when it comes to the symptoms that you can have and you know what treatments you need if you have lime disease.

00:12:58
Speaker 1: She has a colcular implant, and she lost her hearing when she was seventeen. She started when she's seventeen, which is.

00:13:04
Speaker 3: Because she did say she moved back home, so I'm assuming she was like away at school she said she moved back home, which.

00:13:11
Speaker 1: Is you know, not to discredit anyone who you know is born not being able to hear. But you know, she probably never learned sign language. I'm assuming, right, like I you know, most of us, we just we don't learn it when we're kids if we don't need to. So then her losing your hearing at seventeen and then either having to go learn you know, I just I could imagine how tough that must have been.

00:13:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, well, like they say, you know, healing, training her body to do anything learn, Like learning a language is easier when you're like two than when you're twenty, right, Like if I was two years old and I started taking French lessons every day, like I'd have a better chance of learning French than if I started today.

00:13:53
Speaker 1: Just because I try to learn French all the time.

00:13:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, and it doesn't work because you know, you're too old, Just kidding, You're never toold to learn something new. So the Golden Bachelor woman tatas. But basically it would have been a huge life change for Like I can't imagine at this age losing my hearing and having to basically reteach my body how to hear using the cochlear implant. But it was nerve wracking, Like I felt like nervous and protective over her watching it when she said that she'd never told anyone on like a first date or someone that she was dating before. It was going to be her first time doing it and like telling this whole story.

00:14:33
Speaker 2: But she did such an amazing job.

00:14:35
Speaker 3: And honestly, it just it was great to just learn more about her and hear her story and everything she's been through. And I think it probably made the audience fall more in love with her as a person, and I think Joey felt super impressed by her, and I just beyond her story, Like, her story is amazing. She is such an amazing, strong person. I just see their connection, like I see their chemistry.

00:14:58
Speaker 1: I've never heard you this passionate about it.

00:15:01
Speaker 2: Really, that's not true.

00:15:03
Speaker 1: You really like her? Okay?

00:15:05
Speaker 2: I do?

00:15:06
Speaker 1: I like her too?

00:15:06
Speaker 2: Okay, that's great sholing me insecure about it?

00:15:09
Speaker 1: No, Yeah, why don't be insecure? You you feel strongly about Daisy. I think everyone, especially after this episode, everyone's going to feel strongly about her.

00:15:17
Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, days is great. Days is great. Anyway, onto the next, on to the next We have another date yep, which is we see Dummy and Jubilee from Dummy from Colton season Jubilee from Bad In Higgins season.

00:15:42
Speaker 1: They they come down to host this. It's like a what is it like a military paintball? Throwing paintball?

00:15:49
Speaker 3: You keep calling paintball and I want to correct you because you're wrong, but you're not wrong because they were throwing it was like paint balloons. Yeah, so they did boot camp. They did a bachelor boot camp. Jubilee, who I believe was in the military, came and ran the boot camp. Demi was not in the military, but she's been on a lot of Bachelor shows and is really qualified for und any of these dates at this point.

00:16:12
Speaker 1: Yeah. She I feel like she's on every season hosting a date. Really, she's hosted. Demi has hosted multiple ds.

00:16:19
Speaker 3: She's just very entertaining. She's a great personality for these things. But they do a boot camp date and then they play like capture the Flag, Capture the Heart. You know what's so interesting about this is so my season, the first group date of the season, which I was on, was a wedding photo shoot in wedding dresses. And then the second part of the date was we went into the woods and we played like capture the Flag with paint and I feel like they basically took that date and said, we're just gonna make this two different dates.

00:16:51
Speaker 1: That's exactly what they do.

00:16:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, so they.

00:16:52
Speaker 3: Played Capture the Heart. I know my observation skills. Nothing gets by me, so they I thought it was gonna be whatever team one gets to go to the after party, because that's typically how it is. Instead it was one persons I know, I know, I'm the observation queen. Instead one person gets after time. Joey picks Edwina. I think she just showed like a lot of like mph on the date, you know what I mean, Like she was like all in. She was showing her competitive spirit. And I feel like Joey, being a tennis player like an athlete, he respected it, he liked it, he was into it, he was attracted to it.

00:17:35
Speaker 1: There was another athlete on that date.

00:17:38
Speaker 2: I noticed another athlete. Yeah, who was it?

00:17:43
Speaker 1: And I think he really likes her? Kelsey.

00:17:45
Speaker 2: Kelsey, is she an athlete?

00:17:47
Speaker 1: She looked like one.

00:17:48
Speaker 2: She does. Yeah, she looks like it. She looks like she was like a soccer player or something.

00:17:52
Speaker 1: Yeah for sure.

00:17:53
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:17:54
Speaker 1: And she's tall.

00:17:55
Speaker 2: She is tall. I feel like she's one of, if not the tallest girl there.

00:17:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, because I saw it like standing they were standing next to each other at one point I was like, oh, she's like almost his height.

00:18:05
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:18:06
Speaker 3: So so Edwena and him have the after.

00:18:10
Speaker 2: Part of time.

00:18:11
Speaker 5: Does he give her a rose on the spot she gives He gives her a rose like after the day after they chat and she just opens up and is super vulnerable about her life and taking care of her family and her siblings and being this kind of motherlike figure and caring for others and what that's meant to her.

00:18:32
Speaker 1: Going back to what you said and just rethinking about past seasons, it's early on for all these women to be opening up as much as they.

00:18:42
Speaker 2: Are and crying, opening up and crying, yeah, like I and I.

00:18:46
Speaker 1: Think that's why we see a lot of I don't.

00:18:49
Speaker 3: Even think I cried in front of you until like four months into our relationship.

00:18:56
Speaker 1: I don't know my brains. My brains were We're gonna have fifty percent today. So for me to go back and try.

00:19:03
Speaker 3: To think about that, but not to say they shouldn't be crying, they all have really amazing stories and they have all opened up a lot, and I think it's great.

00:19:11
Speaker 2: But it's just so early. I just I'm like, Wow, we're really getting into the thick of.

00:19:14
Speaker 3: It, Like right away, we are all having serious chats left, right, and center.

00:19:19
Speaker 2: They're everywhere.

00:19:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So then we go we go back to the let's go back to the mansion.

00:19:26
Speaker 2: Yep, dates are done.

00:19:28
Speaker 1: Dates are done. We see Lauren self eliminites.

00:19:33
Speaker 2: Whoa, you just jumped to the end of the episode.

00:19:35
Speaker 1: That wasn't the end of the episode. We still have the Maria nonsense.

00:19:38
Speaker 2: Yeah that was before.

00:19:39
Speaker 1: Was that before?

00:19:40
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:19:41
Speaker 1: Hey, hey, god forbid.

00:19:43
Speaker 3: Okay, fine, let's jump to the Lauren stuff. Let's jump to the Louren stuff. Let's go tell me.

00:19:47
Speaker 2: About it, Joe.

00:19:47
Speaker 1: Are you sure?

00:19:49
Speaker 2: I'm positive? I have my notes in front of me.

00:19:52
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, go to No, let's go your way.

00:19:55
Speaker 2: Okay.

00:19:56
Speaker 1: So we go back to the mansion and some drama, yeah, unfold.

00:20:02
Speaker 3: We see Maria is chit chatting, actually lists back even a little more.

00:20:07
Speaker 2: They said it be seen. They seem to be having some sort of like group chat situation.

00:20:14
Speaker 3: And Medina, who is so pretty, like stunningly beautiful, she is opening up about her insecurity, about being I think she's the oldest woman in the house.

00:20:26
Speaker 2: She's thirty one. Yeah, I believe Joey is twenty eight. You know, we've googled this before.

00:20:32
Speaker 3: I think he's twenty eight, so she's like three years older than him. And she immediately says something like I wish I hadn't said that or I shouldn't have said that, which made me sad, Like I was like, you know, you didn't say anything.

00:20:43
Speaker 1: Wrong, like you're just but I don't think you're anything.

00:20:45
Speaker 2: Opening up about you know, you're It's.

00:20:48
Speaker 1: Totally valid if you feel insecure that you're the oldest person in the house.

00:20:53
Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I think that's totally fine. Like that that's how she feels. Then that's how she feels, you know what I mean.

00:20:59
Speaker 3: But I also think then the messaging of what unfolds gets like really misconstrued well, and it just kind of turns into a mess that didn't need to be created.

00:21:11
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's also a little difficult to follow along with. But I'm under the impression that Maria said big deal, like I'm old too.

00:21:22
Speaker 3: Well, Maria's twenty nine, she's like two years younger than her one year older.

00:21:27
Speaker 1: I don't have any issue with her saying that either like she's just like yeah.

00:21:30
Speaker 3: Like I think she was almost just saying like I'm in this with you, like we're we're the same, Like you feel like you're old. I'm old too, I'm older than Joey too, Like it's okay, Like there's multiple women here that are older. Like I don't think she meant it in a negative way. I think she meant it in like a.

00:21:45
Speaker 1: I think she meant that in like we're the same age, not I don't think she meant it in like saying like.

00:21:50
Speaker 3: Like screw you, like I'm old too, like you're trying to say I should feel insecure about it. Like I think she meant it in a like hey, I'm your buddy, like I'm I'm in this with you, like kind of in a support way.

00:22:00
Speaker 1: That's how That's how I read it too. Yeah, And then.

00:22:10
Speaker 3: We have and then so Maria's talking about it to what looks like Taylor and a group of them is like overhearing and like Sydney's got like her ear extended, trying to like listen in on what the chit chat.

00:22:22
Speaker 1: And now Sydney Sidney wasn't on either of the ground.

00:22:25
Speaker 3: So the two people that didn't get throop. Days this week were Lea and Sydney. And it's never good when someone has too much time to sit in the house and think and maybe get a little bored.

00:22:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's never never a good thing. You got a little too much time on your hands.

00:22:40
Speaker 3: So we've got some eavesdropping happening. And then it looks like the information that Sydney gathered started to spread like wildfire. It was kind of giving, like I overheard sixty percent of your conversation and then just like filled in the gaps and spread it to the rest of the house.

00:22:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, and then when Maria confronted to her, she said, it was your tone.

00:23:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, your tone.

00:23:03
Speaker 3: But I was like, but you were like you were two Like you were like ten feet away from them.

00:23:07
Speaker 1: It just really seemed it all just seemed really unnecessary.

00:23:12
Speaker 2: It was giving, like assumptions make an acid of you and me, like, or what is it is that? What is some thing? Yeah?

00:23:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, well I just feel like it was blown out of proportion for sure. Like I feel like Maria was saying like she shouldn't feel insecure. Joey would never look over her because she's, you know, a few years older, she's beautiful. She should be confident in herself. I'm twenty nine to two, Like it's okay. And I think Sydney took it what she was overhearing as like you're putting her down for sharing an insecurity.

00:23:43
Speaker 1: Well, I'll I'll just use myself as an example.

00:23:45
Speaker 5: Okay.

00:23:46
Speaker 1: Well we were in Paradise. I was thirty, just turned thirty five, and Kenny was forty. Yeah, and so there's a five year difference between Kenny and I. If Kenny would have said, man, I feel old on this speech, I would have been like, yeah, I'm right there with you. Yeah, we're the same fucking age essentially.

00:24:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, you would have Yeah, it would have probably sad exactly. Maria said, yeah.

00:24:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, So that's why I like putting myself in that situation. That's why I feel like I side with her on it, even though I just feel like the whole I feel like the whole thing was completely unnecessary.

00:24:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, the whole thing wasn't necessarily unnecessary. I thought she handled it pretty well, like she was confrontational, but like kind of needed to be, Like she had to address it because she's like everyone's talking about me, everyone's got a problem with me. All of a sudden off of a conversation that I had, and.

00:24:38
Speaker 1: There's a lot to be brought to Joey next week, because.

00:24:41
Speaker 2: Which is just like the worst thing ever.

00:24:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, but we also need like let's just stop pretending like we don't know what show this is, like like it happens every Like there's a helicopter date all like this happens every season, So like it happens.

00:24:57
Speaker 2: That's my point.

00:24:58
Speaker 3: It happens every season, and it never ever goes well.

00:25:02
Speaker 2: It never goes well.

00:25:04
Speaker 3: It's like people like we need to learn from history, so we don't make it for you.

00:25:09
Speaker 1: But you just you just said it yourself. Sidney isn't on either of the group dates. She's in the house all day, probably bored out of her mind, and you know.

00:25:22
Speaker 2: She bored, but like, go do some yoga, meditate.

00:25:28
Speaker 1: I mean, how long can you do that? I I do. I meditate for fifteen minutes and that's long, Like what do you want to what do you want to do? So I'll bet she's just like, all right, I'm getting involved some way.

00:25:40
Speaker 3: I guess maybe I don't know. We'll see how it unfolds next week. Because it felt like an end of the drama happened, Like if I didn't see the teaser for next week, I'd be like, all right, we've squashed this. Like Maria tried to talk to Medina, she was kind of like, I don't really want to talk to you.

00:25:55
Speaker 2: She talked to Sydney and the.

00:25:56
Speaker 3: Group and basically like aired it out, was like this, this is where I was coming from. Sydney didn't really seem to be buying it. There definitely seems to be some tension there. It feels like Sidney might not like Maria for additional reasons on top of this one situation, Like it felt like there was some animosity, but maybe that's why it continues, because it really felt like it was like, okay, we we squashed the situation, like yeah, and I think Maria thought that too, but.

00:26:26
Speaker 1: Well we'll see, We'll stay tuned, stay tuned tuned. Okay. So then the most unfortunate thing happens so.

00:26:33
Speaker 2: Far this season, Lauren sends herself.

00:26:35
Speaker 1: Lauren sends herself home, which is super disappointing, so frustrating.

00:26:39
Speaker 2: I just I wasn't ready to see her now.

00:26:41
Speaker 1: She was great, even even even and I know she was upset about her father and there was things. She was upset about it at the wedding, but when Rachel was like dancing and then they flashed, they kissed like everyone's chering and they flashed the lord and she just got like a She's like.

00:26:58
Speaker 2: Rolling her eyes, chugging her drink.

00:27:00
Speaker 1: I know, it's great.

00:27:01
Speaker 2: I love her.

00:27:02
Speaker 1: She was a comedic relief.

00:27:04
Speaker 2: She was comedic relief. Yeah, I don't know.

00:27:08
Speaker 3: I mean I thought when Joey went to pull her aside to check on her, like she might change her mind, like the Kate cake.

00:27:16
Speaker 2: Joe was being so sweet.

00:27:17
Speaker 3: I thought she she might be like, you know what, like you're being so sweet right now, like I don't I don't want to leave. I'm not ready to do this. But she, like Joey was like, you seem to have made up your mind.

00:27:28
Speaker 1: So yeah, he didn't care, loking made up your mind. You're making this easier on me. I wish everyone did.

00:27:34
Speaker 2: This, everyone said sols home.

00:27:37
Speaker 1: I will say I do think one of the if either of the sisters has a chance with Joey, it was best case scenario for one of them to leave early on totally, because if they both I feel like if they both would have stuck around. They would both fall probably in the middle of the pack. Probably you know, have a group of friends that like there's a click that they're probably both part of. And I just don't think either of them.

00:28:11
Speaker 2: Would have what what do you mean a click like that?

00:28:15
Speaker 1: It would have just been it would have been a click of of of girls who probably don't have a connection with Joey, but stick around, and that's where I think they would have fallen.

00:28:26
Speaker 2: Okay, interesting take.

00:28:28
Speaker 1: I think that Why you don't you don't think I'm right.

00:28:32
Speaker 3: I mean, I think at the end of the day, like if you had a really really strong connection with one of them, it wouldn't have just like fallen short because the other one was there.

00:28:41
Speaker 1: I just think I just think maybe there's a little less effort on your part when you have somebody, when you have a friend there who's a clutch.

00:28:53
Speaker 2: I guess, yeah.

00:28:54
Speaker 3: No, I think it is a bit of a distraction, and I think it makes it hard for Joey to really invest in one of the sisters if he's really focusing on both of them or trying to consider the other one's feelings.

00:29:04
Speaker 2: Like, I agree with you.

00:29:05
Speaker 3: I think it's a good thing for Alison that Lauren's gone, or like if Alison left, it would have been a good thing for Lauren.

00:29:11
Speaker 2: Like it's way harder.

00:29:13
Speaker 3: Like they're at an advantage in terms of like comfort because they have each other as a support system, but they're at a disadvantage in terms of like being able to lean into the process of the show and like potentially fall in love.

00:29:25
Speaker 1: I think, yeah, yeah, I agree.

00:29:27
Speaker 2: So yeah, I was sad to see her go.

00:29:28
Speaker 1: She left, that's unfortunate she didn't get her red velvet cake.

00:29:33
Speaker 2: No, it looked like it was like vanilla.

00:29:35
Speaker 1: Love a red velvet cake.

00:29:36
Speaker 2: Felt for her.

00:29:37
Speaker 1: I mean they're in California, they could have.

00:29:39
Speaker 3: Got that, you know what, they definitely could have got the red velvet cake. I when she threw the cake on the ground, I had like a flashback to Mary throwing the cake and the fire in Paradise.

00:29:50
Speaker 1: Someone somebody throws the cake. All all that pops in my head is who's the poor sucker that has to fucking clean that up? I want to I want to reality show on the person that's got to clean that up.

00:30:05
Speaker 2: And also like wasteful, like maybe the girls and sid would want.

00:30:08
Speaker 1: To anyone go home that we're shocked about.

00:30:10
Speaker 3: So Lauren left on her own. Taylor went home, who I actually was kind of surprised for her, just because she had like drama with Jess in the first episode, and then she was kind of involved with like she was the one Maria was talking to when like all the rumor mills started happening. Yeah, so I kind of was taken aback by that. Marlina got sent home, who honestly, we didn't really see a lot of her. And Erica got sent home. Who I think he kissed on Night one?

00:30:37
Speaker 1: Let me see? Yeah he had ki Oh yeah, we both said. I was shocked she went.

00:30:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, she was on the wedding date.

00:30:45
Speaker 1: I thought she was going to have I thought I saw in the teaser for the season, like I I just thought I saw like her. I felt like she was like deeper in the season, like I.

00:30:56
Speaker 2: Saw a clip, but maybe with someone else.

00:30:58
Speaker 1: Probably wrong.

00:30:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, well you were definitely wrong because she went home. Just eliminated until.

00:31:03
Speaker 1: She comes back.

00:31:04
Speaker 2: But if I was heard, I'd be.

00:31:05
Speaker 3: Like, god, damn, I had so much confidence leaving Night one, like having him make out with me and then bam, next week nothing.

00:31:12
Speaker 2: Yeah that sucks.

00:31:14
Speaker 1: There we go, I guess his kisses just don't mean that much.

00:31:18
Speaker 2: I guess not just the kissing bandit out here.

00:31:22
Speaker 1: Well, I think that's a good good place to wrap this episode. In fact, we covered everything.

00:31:26
Speaker 2: I think so too. Were there any who were the women and the connections that were the standouts for you this episode?

00:31:33
Speaker 1: Uh, standouts for me this episode are probably I mean Daisy number one, Yeah, she had the one on one Eazy number one, and then Maria Rachel, Maria Rachel. Yeah tight those.

00:31:57
Speaker 2: Lex oh, LEXI did the the she did the painting thing.

00:32:01
Speaker 1: The little stand up bit. Yeah, uh I.

00:32:09
Speaker 2: Minute that started.

00:32:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, not not her being like yeah, like my my arts and museums. Now I was like, okay, okay, le see turn that photo around, turn that painting around.

00:32:20
Speaker 2: Let's see, let's see what it looks like. So funny, but yeah.

00:32:24
