<v Speaker 1>What is going on, guys, and welcome back to another <v Speaker 1>episode of the Main Event Review. Once again, thank you <v Speaker 1>very much for tuning in to this week's episode. We <v Speaker 1>have just concluded Backlash as well, but we'll get onto <v Speaker 1>the first three matches of the Main Event review, but <v Speaker 1>I feel like I sort of have to skip onto <v Speaker 1>the quote unquote ground breaking announcement that occurred on Backlash. <v Speaker 1>As we saw John Cena basically revealed a new event <v Speaker 1>called the John Cena Classic, basically a new championship that's <v Speaker 1>going to have his name on it and fans will <v Speaker 1>vote on. There isn't that much more detail that we've received. <v Speaker 1>All we sort of know is that fans will be <v Speaker 1>voting on I guess who is going to be this <v Speaker 1>champion of the John Cena Classic. It obviously is a <v Speaker 1>money pool, and you know, TIK are starting to really <v Speaker 1>frustrate me now with sort of their creative decisions, their <v Speaker 1>bookings and just adding in just unnecessary shit that quite <v Speaker 1>frankly doesn't improve the product. If anything, it just makes <v Speaker 1>it worse, and it just shows their true colors and <v Speaker 1>what they want to do. And like, I'm all for <v Speaker 1>people making money, but it'd be nice for them to <v Speaker 1>sort of be a bit more discreet about it, because <v Speaker 1>at this point it's just blatantly obvious. And obviously they <v Speaker 1>got John Cena to announce it because it would have <v Speaker 1>came across better given that obviously John Cena is a legend. <v Speaker 1>But I was not a fan of this, and I'm <v Speaker 1>not really a fan of this John Cena classic whatever <v Speaker 1>it is. I just don't understand that we already have <v Speaker 1>the Crown Jewel Championship. I don't think we need another <v Speaker 1>championship that just sort of like doesn't I don't even <v Speaker 1>understand that, Like what you're just gonna vote, like if <v Speaker 1>I'm a fan, like I'm only going to vote for <v Speaker 1>someone I prefer or I can even trol vote it, <v Speaker 1>so like it doesn't change the idea, Like the fans <v Speaker 1>want control of creative for stuff that's actually significant, not <v Speaker 1>for things like this. And I'm not saying that the <v Speaker 1>whole fan should be the ones to generate storyline. I <v Speaker 1>just think the fans should be somewhat considered in some <v Speaker 1>time in some moments, because you know, book the bookings <v Speaker 1>have been terrible as of late. We get we get this, <v Speaker 1>we get like just t KO making money we're hearing <v Speaker 1>that they're using AI, which okay aa is normal but <v Speaker 1>like normal these days, but like I don't, I don't really, <v Speaker 1>I don't really get this and I don't really understand <v Speaker 1>how this is going to improve things and make things better, <v Speaker 1>but it is what it is. I guess we're going <v Speaker 1>to be locking into whatever the John Sinner Classic is. <v Speaker 1>I hope it goes well, but I don't see it <v Speaker 1>being anything of significance. They've added Club w WE, so <v Speaker 1>now they're adding subscriptions to everything as well, So that's <v Speaker 1>just more money they're trying to bring in. And yeah, <v Speaker 1>it's becoming it's becoming a joke, to be honest, and look, <v Speaker 1>I love WW, I love the product. I love talking <v Speaker 1>about on this podcast, but I have to call out <v Speaker 1>the bullshit that TKO is doing. And it's just it's <v Speaker 1>so disappointing because when when Triple H sort of took <v Speaker 1>over Creative after Vince McMahon was sort of falling off, <v Speaker 1>I thought it was going to be better and at <v Speaker 1>the moment, it's not looking good and it's quite frustrating. <v Speaker 1>And I always say this, the most frustrating thing for <v Speaker 1>me is them just hyping stuff up. Before it happens, <v Speaker 1>like saying it's going to be groundbreaking, it's going to <v Speaker 1>be earth moving, Just shut up and let us see <v Speaker 1>it and then we'll decide ourselves. So then the expectation <v Speaker 1>is not as high as they put it. But anyway, <v Speaker 1>we'll go straight to the main event, because I think <v Speaker 1>we want to go on to the matches again. I promise. <v Speaker 1>I love WWE. I just have to call out on TKO. <v Speaker 1>I think TKO is just yeah, ridiculous at points, but <v Speaker 1>we get Ray Phoenix taking on Berto in a pretty <v Speaker 1>good match. Ray Phoenix has failed to do anything on <v Speaker 1>WW at the moment, and you know, when his entrance <v Speaker 1>music hits, you think is a big star, and then <v Speaker 1>when you see him on main event, it's just quite disappointing. <v Speaker 1>The only thing we really saw of him lately was <v Speaker 1>him just sending gonzolesners to the gingerbread Man, which that's <v Speaker 1>another stupid call, but at least that's a bit lightheaded. <v Speaker 1>But that's all he's done. He's failed to win matches <v Speaker 1>on the main show. He only wins matches at main event. <v Speaker 1>So I'm glad they've given him the victory here with <v Speaker 1>the MMB, but I need to see more from Ray Phoenix, <v Speaker 1>and I need to see more bookings for him, Like <v Speaker 1>he's not really doing much. Is there a chance that <v Speaker 1>he could probably transfer to raw and just take on <v Speaker 1>Penza for the title. That might mean something. It might <v Speaker 1>it might be like jealous little brother, Like maybe that's <v Speaker 1>what booking needs to happen at the moment, because he's <v Speaker 1>not doing much at all, and it's it's disappointing, like <v Speaker 1>he's obviously I think, have the look, the inn ring <v Speaker 1>ability and the same equal opportunities to do something, but <v Speaker 1>they're just not working with him at the moment. It's <v Speaker 1>quite sad. But he gets the victory here, so that's <v Speaker 1>some positive scigns going forward for him. As for Berto, <v Speaker 1>good to see him in a singles match. I remember <v Speaker 1>last year there was like a tease that he could <v Speaker 1>potentially leave Legarda del Fantasma now that santrans Escobar's gone, <v Speaker 1>potentially Berto could forge his own path as a single <v Speaker 1>staff he gets away from Angel or they could be <v Speaker 1>a threatening tag team. But I don't really see it, <v Speaker 1>but yeah, it is what it is. And then going <v Speaker 1>through to the next match, we had Maxine Dupre taking <v Speaker 1>on Raquel Rodriguez again. Racour re Jecus is another example <v Speaker 1>of someone that really shouldn't be on main event. Maxine <v Speaker 1>Dupre had a little flash run last year winning the <v Speaker 1>Intercontinental title, hasn't really done much since. Racal has stepped <v Speaker 1>into the shadows of Live Morgan once again. But she <v Speaker 1>looked really convincing as of late as a powerhouse and <v Speaker 1>someone that could potentially win a women's title. So I <v Speaker 1>would like to see her potentially, you know, go for <v Speaker 1>that portray leave Morgan potentially, but we don't know at <v Speaker 1>the moment they're looking at obviously within the judgment day <v Speaker 1>rox Dan Perez being the one that could potentially portray <v Speaker 1>and go to finside. But she's proving her loyalty again <v Speaker 1>because she helps Raccaver Driguez here and the match finishes <v Speaker 1>up with a Taharna bomb and the right person one. <v Speaker 1>It obviously demonstrates that they believe in racalver Driggers and <v Speaker 1>what she could potentially do going forward. But like once again, <v Speaker 1>I just don't really like the fact that she's sort <v Speaker 1>of gone off rails and she's in the shadow of Morgan. <v Speaker 1>Maybe they can get Recover Driggers to have a program <v Speaker 1>with liv Morgan for that title. And then finally we <v Speaker 1>get the last match and it was Larra Valkyria taking <v Speaker 1>on Ivy Nile. Very two really good in ring wrestlers. <v Speaker 1>I think the best match of the three was was <v Speaker 1>this one Ivan and Ile again that hasn't been doing <v Speaker 1>much at all. Don't see her doing much in the future, <v Speaker 1>but you know, Lara Valkyria is still trying to make <v Speaker 1>a name for herself because ever since the Becky Future <v Speaker 1>has just been stuck with Bailey and Bailey someone that <v Speaker 1>sort of just you know, is not near the spotlight anymore, <v Speaker 1>which is also disappointing. But Larra is the right person <v Speaker 1>to get the victory. She attempts the night Wing, it <v Speaker 1>gets or she sort of falls down because she's unable <v Speaker 1>to carry Ivy Oyle, and then Ivy Iyle tries a <v Speaker 1>pin leads to an insegurity by Ivy Oyle, which then <v Speaker 1>allowed her to hit the night Wing on Ivy Ol <v Speaker 1>and get the victory there. So Laura gets a victory <v Speaker 1>here to someone that you don't also want to see <v Speaker 1>on main event, but you know what, like for me personally, <v Speaker 1>it's great to get these matches of quality on main <v Speaker 1>event as well, and have these guys because you know, <v Speaker 1>we're stuck with the same ALFA academies and technically Maxine <v Speaker 1>is part of them. But it was still good to <v Speaker 1>see other superstars sort of roll in and you know, perform, <v Speaker 1>which is what we want to see. And yeah, that <v Speaker 1>pretty much concludes the main event review. Again, you know, <v Speaker 1>three matches quite solid, I would say, but we'll go <v Speaker 1>on to Backlash quickly and we'll go through the results. <v Speaker 1>So broad Breaker beating Seph Rowlins. It was a mid <v Speaker 1>air spear as Seth Rollins was trying to hit the <v Speaker 1>super stamp, so it was a great sort of way <v Speaker 1>to you know, get bron Breaker over, also protecting Seth <v Speaker 1>Rowlins by the sort of intervention of or interference of <v Speaker 1>Austin Theory and Logan Paul which came in there, and <v Speaker 1>you know he was prepared for them. But it just <v Speaker 1>continues to go and the storyline continues, which is good. <v Speaker 1>We can still see more of Rolins and Vision feud, <v Speaker 1>but we'll see what happens going forward. But bron Breaker <v Speaker 1>looked really good here and that's what we want to see. <v Speaker 1>You want to see new stars perform really well, and <v Speaker 1>this is a big win for bron Breaker. It's one <v Speaker 1>of his biggest single wins in a while if you <v Speaker 1>really think about it. I can't remember the last time <v Speaker 1>bron Breaker beat someone of this magnitude. So getting the <v Speaker 1>victor on Seth Rowlans was massive for him, I have <v Speaker 1>to say. And then going on with Trick Williams and <v Speaker 1>Sammy's Ain that was the next match. It went for <v Speaker 1>about twelve minutes and forty four seconds, so it wasn't <v Speaker 1>as long as the brom Breaker seth Rollins one, which <v Speaker 1>went over twenty minutes, which was really good. We had, <v Speaker 1>you know, Trick Williams getting the victory. We saw a <v Speaker 1>really good DDT by Samusein onto Trick Williams and honestly <v Speaker 1>it looked like Trick Williams took a lot of that, <v Speaker 1>which which was really good. We also saw a lot <v Speaker 1>of heel movements from Samisein, which is something that I <v Speaker 1>expected to see and I'm glad I did see with <v Speaker 1>a Hallouv kick to Liu Yardy and a few progo <v Speaker 1>sticks as well. That was pretty good. And you know, <v Speaker 1>Lil Yadi, out of all the celebrities, I've liked him <v Speaker 1>the most this year because he's not overstepping. He's not <v Speaker 1>making it about him, and he's actually been a lot <v Speaker 1>more consistent showing up on multiple occasions, and that's that's <v Speaker 1>really good. And I think he suits Trick Williams really <v Speaker 1>well to be sort of half manager. So I kind <v Speaker 1>of I kind of like it. You know, I think <v Speaker 1>zamisein losing here was the right call. We get a <v Speaker 1>good US title one with Trick Williams who could potentially <v Speaker 1>go on to you know verse Kamala Hayes and this <v Speaker 1>is just a stepping stone to his main event level <v Speaker 1>which is going to come up soon. And I guess <v Speaker 1>Sami Zain can now hone into just becoming a heel now, <v Speaker 1>so you know, coming with this loss, we will see <v Speaker 1>how Sami zan reacts to it and how he'll be <v Speaker 1>moving forward, because I definitely think he won't be happy <v Speaker 1>about it, and he can full launch the hill Turn, <v Speaker 1>which is what I think we want to see as well, <v Speaker 1>because this was so authentic. And then we had Dan <v Speaker 1>Hausen and his mystery opponent taking on the miss and <v Speaker 1>Kit Wilson. Basically we all sort of thought that Dan <v Speaker 1>Hausen wasn't going to have a tag team partner of <v Speaker 1>importance I tease mister Iguana, I tease Shane McMahon. Looking back, <v Speaker 1>didn't seem realistic. And you know, a lot of people <v Speaker 1>are complaining because maybe the clone of Dan Housen wasn't <v Speaker 1>the best thing right now, but if you look at <v Speaker 1>it on how fun and entertaining Dan Housen's been and <v Speaker 1>how funny he has been as well, it makes complete <v Speaker 1>sense that he gets a clone machine, tries to clone <v Speaker 1>himself and obviously it fails and we get Minni Housen, <v Speaker 1>who was Alterino. If you look back in the past, <v Speaker 1>he was a famous luchador, unbelievable in ring, and he <v Speaker 1>showed some really good stuff in the ring as well, <v Speaker 1>and it was good to see him come out. And yeah, <v Speaker 1>Minni Housen came out and we had them defeating the <v Speaker 1>miss and Kit Wilson, with Dan Housen getting the three <v Speaker 1>count as well. It was really cool to see, you know, <v Speaker 1>the Minni Housen try to curse Kit Wilson and then <v Speaker 1>Kit Wilson had the mirror. I'm a big fan of <v Speaker 1>Kit Wilson and I really enjoy what he's doing as well. <v Speaker 1>The fact that he's able to get on backlashes is <v Speaker 1>really good, and so is Dan Housen. Dan Housen's on <v Speaker 1>the bed here for a few months and he's already <v Speaker 1>getting pl spots like getting on the card. He has <v Speaker 1>a big achievement for both these guys and they're doing really, <v Speaker 1>really good stuff, so I can't really complain about it. <v Speaker 1>The match was good. It was pretty funny. The Miss <v Speaker 1>is just a legend. He just does really good in <v Speaker 1>these type of matches, especially considering that he's always the <v Speaker 1>one to put other people over, and you know, he's <v Speaker 1>a very good heel. So I'm happy with this, and <v Speaker 1>I'm happy with this ending. I want to know what's <v Speaker 1>next for Dan Hausen. I just hope to see more <v Speaker 1>funny content, but obviously he needs to move on from <v Speaker 1>I think the Miss and Kid Wilson now because I <v Speaker 1>just don't see what else can happen with these guys. <v Speaker 1>And then we have es Guy defeating Ascar. That was <v Speaker 1>a really good match. This match should definitely have been <v Speaker 1>at WrestleMania. Looking back at it thet I think this <v Speaker 1>was the match of the night for me. I think <v Speaker 1>these two just have so much chemistry and so much experience, <v Speaker 1>and you know, it was just an excellent display an <v Speaker 1>excellent wrestling display. It felt like after that the end, <v Speaker 1>the fact that Oscar was crying and es Guy was <v Speaker 1>bowing down, it might be over for her. A lot <v Speaker 1>of people there's rumors that she's retired. I don't think <v Speaker 1>she has retired. I think she might be having a <v Speaker 1>bit of a break. Who knows, But it was really <v Speaker 1>good to see her break character and sort of just <v Speaker 1>you know, be emotional there. I think it's really good <v Speaker 1>to sort of, you know, see that raw emotion. Like <v Speaker 1>these two obviously have a lot of history together. They <v Speaker 1>are both Japanese. Yes, guys learned a lot of Oscar, <v Speaker 1>and I think, you know, it was it was really good. <v Speaker 1>And you know, she gets the victory by the sort <v Speaker 1>of over the top moon salt with the Meteora. What <v Speaker 1>was cool is one of the coolest spots was the <v Speaker 1>Ascar sort of countering the Hurricane Hara Karana to get <v Speaker 1>into that pin. That was really nice. And just over <v Speaker 1>all their chemistry throughout the whole match was just simply incredible. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, I was a massive fan of this one. <v Speaker 1>And then we lead up to the main event, and boy, <v Speaker 1>how good is Roman reigns in a main event? But <v Speaker 1>he takes on Jacob Fatu for the World Heavyweight Championship, <v Speaker 1>and Fatu delivered in this match, like extremely delivered, from <v Speaker 1>the no sALS to the kickouts. He was just simply <v Speaker 1>incredible here. He looked really strong. He looked like he <v Speaker 1>could go toe to toe with the main guys, and <v Speaker 1>that's sort of the main thing is there, Especially coming <v Speaker 1>off the back of an incredible main event between Sampunk <v Speaker 1>and Roman Reigns, we got a really really, really good <v Speaker 1>sort of match with these two, and we obviously knew <v Speaker 1>that Roman Rains was going to win this match, but <v Speaker 1>the way he won was quite interesting because you know, <v Speaker 1>Fatu hit the tongue in death grip and Rains was <v Speaker 1>just trying to grab the official and while he did that, <v Speaker 1>he ripped off the turn buckle, which allowed Rains to <v Speaker 1>hit Fatu headfirst into the exposed turn buckle and then <v Speaker 1>hit the spear. So a bit of a heel sort <v Speaker 1>of moved by Roman Reins to sort of just get <v Speaker 1>the victory. I would argue that he was sort of <v Speaker 1>cheating and got away with a lot, and that's sort <v Speaker 1>of why I think Fatu went insane after the match <v Speaker 1>and attacked everyone. And they're going off with this gimmick <v Speaker 1>that he is unhinged, he's out of control, and you know, <v Speaker 1>he can't be stopped, and that's something that we want <v Speaker 1>to see as well. And look, a lot of people <v Speaker 1>are complaining about the post no sale spear. I am <v Speaker 1>on board with sort of those complaints. I can take <v Speaker 1>them up, but I also have to consider the fact <v Speaker 1>that Jacob Fatu has been a force and he's he's <v Speaker 1>already been known for non selling. And also you've got <v Speaker 1>to see about how the match ended. You could see <v Speaker 1>that Roman Reigns clearly sort of cheated by you know, <v Speaker 1>holding the ref and pulling off the turn buckle. So <v Speaker 1>having the exposed turn buckle there to hit the spear <v Speaker 1>would have made Fatu very angry, and that's sort of <v Speaker 1>why he attacked. You know, Fatu of attacked the Roman <v Speaker 1>Reigns after. And I'm not sure what we're going to <v Speaker 1>see at the end, but it looks as though that, yeah, <v Speaker 1>Jacob Fattu is not done with Roman Reigns, so we <v Speaker 1>might see more of this bloodline storyline. We might see <v Speaker 1>more of Jacob Fattu getting involved with Roman Reigns and <v Speaker 1>potentially having another match, But we'll have to wait and <v Speaker 1>see what happens. It's a good program to continue going with. <v Speaker 1>I don't suspect that Roman Reigns will lose the tie. <v Speaker 1>There might be reasons to suggest he could, given his <v Speaker 1>schedule in June is light, but I just don't see <v Speaker 1>it happening. It might mean that Jacob I tou ends <v Speaker 1>up acknowledging Roman Reigns and you know, become part of <v Speaker 1>the family. But we'll find out on tomorrow's episode of <v Speaker 1>Monday Night Raw, as I've recorded this the night after <v Speaker 1>Backlash and the night before Monday Night Raw as well. <v Speaker 1>But again, guys, thank you very much for tuning into <v Speaker 1>another episode of the Main Event review. There's no literal <v Speaker 1>libre updates. I will look to potentially add that in <v Speaker 1>next week. I know we've got the Mask on Mask <v Speaker 1>match up coming forward. That's something to really look forward to. <v Speaker 1>I think for those that are interested in Triple A, <v Speaker 1>get onto El Grande Americana taking on the original. I <v Speaker 1>think that that's going to be a really good match, <v Speaker 1>and I think we've paved the way for a future <v Speaker 1>of Ludwik Kaiser being El Grande Americano for a very <v Speaker 1>very long time. But again, thanks for tuning in. I'll <v Speaker 1>catch you guys next week. Cheers. <v Speaker 2>Thanks for listening to the WWE Podcast.
