00:00:02 Speaker 1: Hello everyone, and welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. Today we have a fun announcement as well as an icon. 00:00:10 Speaker 2: A legend. 00:00:12 Speaker 3: We have Trista Sutter. 00:00:14 Speaker 2: So everyone welcome Trista. 00:00:17 Speaker 3: Woo. Hi Trista. Hi, girls. 00:00:23 Speaker 4: I'm so excited this is this has got to be not I mean, how many podcasts have you done so far? So I'm like, probably either one of five or ten or how many have you done so far? 00:00:37 Speaker 5: Definitely in the early batch. Yeah, you're one of our early like. 00:00:41 Speaker 6: Guests, which we are honored to have you. You're a living legend here, an icon, our icon. 00:00:50 Speaker 3: Trista, thank you so much. 00:00:53 Speaker 1: This is so special to us because we have a huge announcement. We have a bachelorette re union coming March fifteenth. It is Taylor, Frankie Paul's before the first rowse and we have so much to talk about. This was Charity and I's first reunion. But Trista, you have been a part of a reunion before. 00:01:16 Speaker 5: How does it compare long ago? 00:01:18 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:01:18 Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, you guys, how old were you even? I need to talk about that. 00:01:25 Speaker 3: But never ten never, We're not talking about. 00:01:33 Speaker 4: Ten years ago. We had our first reunion, so it was right when Hannah was about to film her season. That's crazy, it was, and we didn't get to meet her. She wasn't there. So this was the first time that I got to meet Hannah. 00:01:47 Speaker 3: Which I loved. 00:01:48 Speaker 4: Of course all of you who came after Hannah, but it was. It just makes me so happy, just it fills me with joy. And I have constantly begged the powers that be for reunions constantly over the years. Whenever I get there here, I'm like, hey, what about a reunion, and not just for bachelorettes, Like I want to do a all every single person who's been on the show. I know that's a lot to ask, and we would have to have like an airline hangar, Like. 00:02:26 Speaker 1: Literally, we need to do a Bravo con of sorts and. 00:02:31 Speaker 6: Get I've been saying this like that's what essentially Honestly, I feel like that's what this cruise is about to be. It's like our first mini like Bachelor con. But that's need to hear nor there. I am just like I'm the fact that you this is like your second reunion, and like this I feel like has been the greatest turnout. I mean, obviously I feel like we had almost all of the bachelorettes there except a few, right, like very very yeah. 00:03:00 Speaker 5: We could count on our hands. 00:03:01 Speaker 6: But other than that, like everybody was present, and like, like you said, meeting Hannah for the first time, I was meeting so many of you guys for the first time, which was like, I don't know, it's like surreal because I'm like, obviously, I never envisioned myself being in this role as Bachelorette number one. But then too, like I remember I was telling Rachel like watching Ashley season was like one of the first seasons that I've watched, like from start to finish, and I was just, I mean truly obsessed with her and JP their story, Like her season was like. 00:03:30 Speaker 5: Just everything, and I'm like, oh my god, I'm meeting all of you. 00:03:33 Speaker 6: Guys for the first time. 00:03:34 Speaker 5: It was just, I don't know, it was so special. 00:03:37 Speaker 4: So special. I mean, there's only so many of us, you know, Yeah, so being able to you know, reunite with our sisterhood and or even just unite with our sister just to just to meet everybody and be in the same space. It just, like I said, it just makes me so happy and gave me so much joy. 00:03:58 Speaker 2: I love so much too. 00:04:00 Speaker 1: I think that we have all been through something so special and that such a small majority of like anyone could understand. And I know we have our group chat, but being there with everyone and really hearing every single person's story, I just felt so seen because I think this can be such an isolating thing, as special as it is to be a lead and be a bachelorette, the fact that you could talk to someone next to you and hear their story it was so special to me. I feel like me and Charity were we the two newest besides Taylor, I. 00:04:34 Speaker 7: Think so yeah, which was crazy because we were missing and Jen Yeah yeah, yeah, yes. 00:04:42 Speaker 4: So true. 00:04:44 Speaker 1: To sit in a room, like Charity said with icons like I used to see you guys on People magazine, what I would be in. 00:04:51 Speaker 8: These are celebrities, and now I'm in the room with you guys, it was so amazing. 00:05:00 Speaker 4: I mean, it's so amazing for me too. I've always said I don't know if you guys have ever heard me say this, but I just feel really maternal towards everybody, and you know, just from being the first and being able to like see everyone kind of go through the same process that I went through in a way. You know, obviously it's changed a lot with social media and just the formatting and all of that, but really, truly it is you know, the same at its core, and so it's just like a family reunion to me. Yeah, that's what it always is. 00:05:33 Speaker 1: Yeah, Trista, you truly are like the matriarch of our group. 00:05:37 Speaker 2: It feels like even in our bachelorette group chat. 00:05:40 Speaker 1: And I know some people think that this is like actually not a thing, and it really is true. 00:05:46 Speaker 3: Is the first one to say. 00:05:48 Speaker 2: Like congratulations on a baby, a marriage. You are keeping the group together. 00:05:53 Speaker 3: Like the glue, truly, and I think you did the same. 00:05:57 Speaker 1: With the reunion because you got to give her little sweatshirt. 00:06:04 Speaker 5: And if you're watching this back, I got to. 00:06:09 Speaker 1: Welcome Taylor into the group, which was such I think it was so amazing for her because she has never been a part of. 00:06:17 Speaker 2: This franchise before. 00:06:20 Speaker 1: So like, what were your thoughts, Like I know that you probably have one of the first conversations with her, like what are your thoughts on Taylor? 00:06:27 Speaker 2: How do you think she's going to handle this season? 00:06:31 Speaker 4: So I'll say I don't watch or I haven't watched before. I need to watch with her season coming up. I've never watched Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. I haven't watched yet, so I didn't know. I knew who she was just because she's so popular, but I didn't know any details. And I know that it was a very controversial announcement for Bachelor Nation. I think it's genius. Honestly, I think it's genius. I loved meeting her. I was I was so honored to be able to be kind of the first one to welcome her. And you know, I won't spoil kind of what happens, but between the three of us, like between you guys, I when I said what I said, and this will all make sense when it airs. But when I said what I said, do you remember charity of Rachel's I. 00:07:28 Speaker 8: Remember Trusta that was giving scream queens in the best way. 00:07:33 Speaker 3: Literally, you are Chanelle number one? Okay? 00:07:37 Speaker 4: Okay, because honestly, I was like, oh my gosh, did that sound so conceited? Was I totally talking down to her? Okay? Good? Because I hoped not. After the fact, I was like, oh, oh my gosh, did I just sound like a complete yach. 00:07:55 Speaker 2: You know, you must remind anywhere who is number one. 00:08:00 Speaker 3: Chevn and Trista will always be number one. 00:08:04 Speaker 6: You're always number one, Like I mean, there's like, yeah, however you say it, that's just facts, Like that's just fact. 00:08:10 Speaker 1: We had to let her know that we all got to have this position and be the bachelorette because of you. 00:08:16 Speaker 4: You truly paved the. 00:08:17 Speaker 3: Way and so many women. 00:08:19 Speaker 2: I remember meeting Emily and. 00:08:21 Speaker 3: Meredith was there. 00:08:22 Speaker 2: I was so surprised to see Meredith. 00:08:25 Speaker 1: I was so excited that she came because did she not come to the first one or was she there as well? 00:08:30 Speaker 4: She wasn't there for the first one, Okay, so. 00:08:32 Speaker 1: She finally got to come and she was so amazing. She getting right out to you, right, she was number two, she was the second. 00:08:40 Speaker 4: Yeah, and then jen Chef who couldn't be there, but she she couldn't be there. But if she was number three? And I do what was I gonna say? 00:08:51 Speaker 3: Oh? 00:08:51 Speaker 4: I wanted to say, you know, you touched on our our group chat it's Emily Mayner's birthday today and I was like, oh, I need to right on the group chat happy birthday. 00:09:03 Speaker 3: You don't write it that we all know exactly. 00:09:08 Speaker 8: Your calendar everyone you see the how many twenty something happy birthdays that come after. 00:09:15 Speaker 5: She literally is like, the smart you have to do it. 00:09:18 Speaker 3: We just we don't know. I need to. 00:09:22 Speaker 4: I need to, Yes, I mean, And that also makes me so happy because I know it's mostly like congratulatory or you know, when Katie was diagnosed, you know, just letting her know that we're there for support, you know, any big moment in people's lives. I feel like we have each other, and I have absolutely no doubt that that would be the case if we were in person too, but we just have this ability to text each other, so it's a great way to just stay connected. I love it. 00:09:53 Speaker 2: Speaking on what you. 00:09:54 Speaker 1: Said too, it was so amazing for me, I think, to look around and we saw Jojo who was expecting and at the time no one knew me on the way Becca is expecting, And to just look around the room and know that all of this happened through an experience that we all got to share together. I'm sure Taylor walked in and saw that and it probably gave her, like so much hope and excitement for her season that it can work. But she also got to talk to all of those who went through. 00:10:25 Speaker 2: It, and it didn't work me. We're talking about us three. 00:10:31 Speaker 1: It was like incredible to sit and watch her really take everything in because she had so many questions. I really expected her to walk in and kind of just be like, it's my journey, I'm gonna. 00:10:44 Speaker 4: Do what I want. 00:10:45 Speaker 1: But it felt like she really went in and knew what she wanted to ask the group. So I wanted to ask you, Trista and Charity as well. What were the things that she asked you guys specifically. 00:10:56 Speaker 4: You know, I'll have to think about that for a minute, but I want to say ditto to what you just said. Like she, I think people would probably maybe based on secret lives, be you know, have this assumption that she's kind of all in it just for you know, just the camera is on her or whatever. That is so not the case. She was so genuine and so sweet and truly, like you said, she was very invested in connecting with each of us and listening like there was not you know when there's someone that you're talking to and they just keep looking past you, like thinking, okay, what else? What else is better out there? When can I move on from this conversation? Whatever? She is not like that at all like, she was fully present and was such a good listener, and even if we were saying something that maybe wasn't relevant to you know, what was going on with her. I think I think she was just so she was she was just truly invested and truly present. And I loved I loved that. I can't think of a question that she asked me. I will say I got to show her a video of one of the girls that couldn't be there, and it just it meant a lot for her to you know, get a personal message from from you know, one of our one of our girls. I don't know if I can spill, but yeah, it was. It was. It was really really sweet. Oh and then actually before Charity, before you take over, I was part of actually Charity, you were part of it. So it was me success Ashley. 00:12:53 Speaker 8: I did watch that one. I watched her afar. I said, I can't see She's like, can I just like the edge, I. 00:13:03 Speaker 3: Go, how do I find a man? Because clearly I didn't. I didn't know. Also, you're the cutest. 00:13:12 Speaker 4: No, it was uh uh me and Charity, Ashley, which she kept saying, you know I was successful back then, but you know we've since been divorced, but she had so much to offer a conversation Desiree and Joe Jojo and Joan exactly and somebody and Jojo Yeah, yeah, yes, Jojo. It was great. It was truly like she had She was just asking, like, you know what anyone would ask all of us, you know, how do you make it work? You know? How did you know? Those kinds of things? And I think I think she gained a lot of knowledge through that conversation. 00:13:54 Speaker 6: Yeah, certainly, I feel like what was like so also interesting. I think for her to like come to the realization, I kind of saw her brain like it clicked for her. As we were all like going around sharing one question was like, what like characteristics were you, like, I guess looking for or that you found with the guy that we all ended up with. And I remember all of us kind of giving similar answers. It's like, I mean I always tell Tris that was like Ryan and Dawton are like the same, and like. 00:14:20 Speaker 5: Ye, same with Dez. 00:14:21 Speaker 6: It's like they're all like they were just very you know, kind of in the back. They just were not the ones that were like grasping or fighting for attention. They just were very gentle patient, like all these things that these qualities that we all have in our guys were like all underlying amongst each other. And I think she was like, oh, like oh my gosh, okay, maybe these are some things that I need to like take note of. And I thought that was just like really special because it was like aha moment for all of us. It's like, wait, all of our guys kind of are the same. It's like, and this is why I weren't. 00:14:52 Speaker 5: These are the qualities, Like, these are what you need to look for. 00:14:54 Speaker 6: So yeah, that was just like really sweet and special too. But yeah, like like Trista said, she just was like really invested, which I think that was like a pleasant surprise, not that I thought that she wasn't going to be like invested, but again like having I guess this perception of who she is on Mormon Wives versus like coming into this franchise and kind of completely like doing this on her own. Like obviously on Woman Wives, she has kind of like that girl group dynamic, you know at times that can be very caddy. There's like drama going on, and not just say that there's never drama. 00:15:27 Speaker 5: There's always drama. 00:15:28 Speaker 6: And bachelor franchise too, but she's on her own. This is her journey. She kind of gets to carve out her story how she wants to, and I think it's going to be really interesting. 00:15:36 Speaker 5: Obviously. 00:15:36 Speaker 6: I think me and Rachel, like we agreed that she's going to do things her own way, and I think we all like can sense that from her. But I think with her doing things in her own way, it's also going to come with the fact that I just know she craves this and she probably wants this more than anything. 00:15:52 Speaker 5: So I think that's going to be like really special to like see play out. 00:15:56 Speaker 1: I do think I don't know if any of you guys caught this, but it's something I remember because I was listening to the questions that she was asking, and it felt like she was always very curious, what do you do if you're in between two men? 00:16:09 Speaker 7: And oh yes, yes, you guys remember that she has to add a lot over and over, and it felt like maybe we weren't answering. 00:16:17 Speaker 4: That for her. 00:16:18 Speaker 1: So I will be very curious to see if she gets down to the end how she handles that, because she was very concerned with that question. 00:16:27 Speaker 4: True story, Yes, I do remember that too. And it'll be you know what was so much fun for me, you guys, I just have to bring it up and everyone will start to see them. The tiktoks, like all of. 00:16:38 Speaker 3: Our tiktoks were just up giving. 00:16:40 Speaker 4: Me life because hello, old woman here, you know, graduating. 00:16:45 Speaker 6: No, literally actually stopped. So I was like, you guys crushed it like all of you guys. I was like, I was the one that was like. 00:16:50 Speaker 3: A little really and tested. 00:16:52 Speaker 2: Not only that, I know Blakesley keeps you on your. 00:16:54 Speaker 3: Toes and I know you know the TikTok trends. 00:16:56 Speaker 1: She pretends she doesn't know, and then I talked to her act and Trista. 00:17:00 Speaker 8: Fully knows all the trends, know what's going on. 00:17:04 Speaker 3: She's she's not a regular mom. 00:17:09 Speaker 4: I try to get her to do them with me, and she just won't. She's like, yeah, no. 00:17:13 Speaker 3: Not not doing that. 00:17:14 Speaker 8: You're like, Lakesley, I need my TikTok followers up. 00:17:17 Speaker 3: It's right. 00:17:21 Speaker 4: I just love doing them. It is so much fun for me to like do the like the lip syncs and whatever. I haven't done the dances, although that would be really fun, but oh my gosh, I just think it's so fun, like in the world of heaviness and you know stress, I'm like this just I just want to have some fun. That's all I. 00:17:43 Speaker 3: Did, and we had so much fun. 00:17:45 Speaker 1: I think my favorite part of the reunion is when we all got to go to a dinner after, which wasn't filmed, but I remember sitting down, I was with you, Charity, and I was with Tasha, who I've never been super close to Tasha, and just even sitting down and listening to her story and Katie Strap, I was like, there are so many things I feel like I could learn from everyone even. 00:18:07 Speaker 4: After Yes, so true. Actually, I gosh, what happened at that dinner. I was crying, I feel. 00:18:19 Speaker 1: From from laughter from laughter, just listening to everyone, and we were I feel like all walking down memory like memory lane, and I don't. 00:18:29 Speaker 4: Know, It's like, I know what it was. 00:18:31 Speaker 5: Help me again, because I'm like, where we crying? 00:18:33 Speaker 3: I know what it was. 00:18:35 Speaker 4: I was crying about the fact that my son is graduating from high school and he's going to be leaving me soon. 00:18:41 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:18:41 Speaker 4: I don't know how it came up, but I feel like that was the conversation where yeah or maybe, and and Blakesley too, like oh, I think Blakesley and I. Actually, now it's really coming back to me. Blakesley and I had had something something happened, and we were she was mad at me or we were mad at each other, and and I lost it because I was like, I don't want to lose her. You know, we have such a really close relationship, and and it was just a really real moment. And that's the kind of stuff that you can share, like like I like I've said, like we've said it's like a family, like we're a sisterhood. They're they're my sisters. I was sitting with Jojo and Caitlin and Andy and one more person, and yeah, I just felt like I could it came up somehow. I have no remember, I have no memory of how, but you know, I feel comfortable enough to share, you know, really really emotional moments with all of your. 00:19:50 Speaker 6: I was gonna say Max is the first bab. 00:19:54 Speaker 4: Like sure is, and he's graduating this year, you guys, he is, and he makes me so proud like every day. So there's there's a phrase. You'll learn this later, but there's a phrase called and maybe you can speak to this on your own. I'm I know that I was like this. It's called soiling the nest, And when kids are about to leave home and do whatever they're going to do after high school, they soil the nest so that it makes it easier to leave home. And soiling the nest means like having an attitude, being rude, you know, being disrespectful, whatever, speaking like talking back, you know, all of that stuff. And I feel like Max is actually doing the opposite like he would. He's always been like a quiet, introspective kind of person, just like Ryan personality. Yeah, very much so. And his twin in real life everyone and anytime I post a picture always they're like, oh, he's his twin. He's as mini me anyway, So he just he loves like actually having conversations with us, not just like yeah no, yeah, no, you know whatever. So anyway, my first baby is the first bachelor baby, and I couldn't be more proud. 00:21:19 Speaker 2: No, truly, And I feel like that says so much Trista. 00:21:21 Speaker 1: Obviously we know you just as our like bachelor mother, but the fact that, like they both, I think look up to you so much every time I'm with Blake, so you could just tell how much she loves you and looks up to you and it is so beautiful to watch and I love every single time you bring them around, like especially Charity at the Golden Wedding, we. 00:21:41 Speaker 3: Were all there together. 00:21:43 Speaker 1: That was another moment that was so It made me feel so happy to be a part of this because even though it didn't work out for me, every time I look around at him with you all, I feel like we're just a big family and it's no. 00:21:54 Speaker 5: And that's the thing. 00:21:55 Speaker 6: It's like, even if it's not like you don't have a partner in this, it's like you still get friends, still get like other people that I consider, we all consider as family, and that's like the beauty and the essence of it. Really, it's like, Okay, it may not work out, and God forbid, it's okay, but it's like we still get a big, gigantic family that we're always going to. 00:22:14 Speaker 5: Be a part of forever, and. 00:22:16 Speaker 6: Like, I don't know, it's just it's so unique and not definitely not something that I take for granted. 00:22:21 Speaker 4: Yeah, no sisters for life. 00:22:30 Speaker 6: Well, speaking of it, TikTok Dances and Trends, I am curious who spearheaded the TikTok dances in the bathroom. 00:22:39 Speaker 5: I believe was that Rachel, Caitlin, who was. 00:22:43 Speaker 3: You tressed up? Okay, let's tell us more. 00:22:47 Speaker 5: I'm the leader of the path I was. 00:22:51 Speaker 3: I'm okay. 00:22:58 Speaker 4: So Rachel had gone to the bathroom before us, like Caitlin and I just went to the bathroom, and it was I think it was after we were crying. So I think we just went to the bathroom to just, you know, grab some tissue and and whatever. And so Rachel comes out of the stall after she's gone to the bathroom, and we're standing in there. Actually I might have decided this before, but I'm like Caitlin, we need to do we need to do this TikTok and I I and it's not. I guess i'd call it a reel because I don't really post on TikTok. It's more just Instagram. So I save fun like reels that I want to do. Actually, I just say we're going to see each other soon. 00:23:36 Speaker 8: I have not saved one TikTok trend for the super Bowl weekend. And Trista sends us to me. She goes, can we do this super Bowl weekend? Go Tristan, not you ahead of the trends? 00:23:46 Speaker 6: Oh, literally this is why I'm like, honestly, make me a spreadsheet. 00:23:50 Speaker 8: But she had it fanned out, so she will be doing all my content this week and thank you very much. Period. 00:23:57 Speaker 3: Oh god, I freaking lot it. 00:23:59 Speaker 4: Okay, So I just showed Caitlin this, this reel that I saw, and I'm like, we need to do this. And since we weren't supposed to, we weren't allowed to do, like to post anything that we had done at the mansion, we were in a bathroom at a restaurant. I'm like, we can post this. So so yeah, I was like, oh my god, we need to do this. Rachel walks out. We're like, you need to you need to join us. Here's what you do, and she just like literally got into it. 00:24:30 Speaker 5: Like Rachel got in and I was like, yeah, this is a winner. Hello. 00:24:38 Speaker 4: It was so much fun. Like actually, I just went through some of my saved reels and and I saw that one. I deleted it from my safe because I've already done it, but I was like, it just it just makes me happy. It takes me back to that moment of just spontaneity and fun, and we just we had a blast in the bathroom that. 00:25:02 Speaker 9: Iconic looking at that. The next morning when I opened hungover was we all were stuck? 00:25:11 Speaker 1: I was, you were Champagne, Champagne, champagne in that mansion. 00:25:16 Speaker 5: And I said, I have to leave. 00:25:17 Speaker 2: I have to get back to having too much fun. So I'm very curious to see you leave really early. 00:25:24 Speaker 4: Yes, I know I did, really. 00:25:27 Speaker 3: Did. I said, morning. 00:25:32 Speaker 5: You let that same night. I literally left the next Yeah, the next morning.
