An Emotional Farewell to Rachel Lindsay

Speaker 1: Welcome back Happy Hour listeners, and I can imagine you guys didn't miss this because if we said it about one hundred times last week. But today marks officially the one hundredth episode of Bachelor Happy Hour, and to be honest, Virgil, I don't quite know how we've gotten here. It's been a roller coaster, but today is going to be something so special because I love you, our Bachelor Happy Hour listeners, absolutely adore you, and you've given us so much these past one hundred episodes. So we're going to do a little bit of a celebration. And while it's going to be fun and exciting, I have to stay upfront to everyone listening. It's going to be very bittersweet for me. And I'm kind of in this like weird emotional state because I'm sad that you are leaving me. Rachel. I truly like can't imagine doing this without you. I'm not only losing just an incredible co host, but also such a great friend and sidekick. But even though this is your last episode with Bachelor Happy Hour, I'm going to say this here and leave it here, and I hope everybody always remembers that our door is always open. To have you back anytime you want, any way, shape or form, like we would, I would be excited to have you. I'm just gonna drag you in at some point it still with me done. I don't know you're gonna love them, but all love it, um but you know it's gonna be crazy without you. But we have this really fun episode planned, all catered to you. But in the meantime, before we get into all of that, you have some big news. I feel like every week I like, Rachel has news, Rachel has news, but no but but but please take it away because you just dropped a huge, exciting bombshell for all of us at Bachelor Nation and beyond with your new book coming out. So please give us all of the details and what you want to share about that. Yes, first of all, let me say thank you for saying that. You know I adore you. Back up, I'm gonna miss you. It's just not gonna be the same every week. I'm gonna be like pulling out my podcast with stereo. I'll be like, let's go and it'll be just be Van and then I'll be looking at it. It's not always the face that I want to see. But it's I love working with you, and I feel like something that I also don't say enough is you know, like I talk about why why I'm leaving, but I'm not saying thank you enough. So I want to say thank you to you. I want to thank you. Know Warner Brothers, you know the franchise, I talk about the franchise. We all we know I have this love hey relationship. But I am thankful for the opportunity to do this podcast and it has been so great and so much fun. And I feel like you and I have made an impact in Bachelor Nation, which is something we both stand for and we always want to do. And I just want to thank all of our listeners and the fans of the show for your support. Sometimes you hear the negativity louder than the support, but there is so much overwhelming support, and so I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you before we get all into this episode in case I forget, I want you to know how much you mean to me and how much I appreciate you. And with that said, the title of the book is miss Me. With that I'm not talking to the supporter because I'll need y'all to miss me. I need y'all to buy this book. I am going to be open in ways that I have and before. I feel like this is me telling my story and having complete control over it for the first time. I specifically wanted to do personalized essays instead of an autobiography because I wanted to be quick. I wanted to be meaningful. I want you to get my voice throughout it. I want there to be lessons. Some of it is emotional, some of it are things that I've never talked about before. I really hope that my parents don't get upset with me, because I think to see where I am now, you have to understand how I got here, and so that's understanding what it was like to grow up as a daughter of a federal judge, what it was like to grow up in Dallas at a predominantly white school my entire life, some of the struggles with that, talking about the hot mess that I was in the middle of my life and the hard lessons that I learned through that that made me into the woman that I am now. And because I went through all of that, I was ready for the things that came for me in my thirty and I'm still learning. I'm still a work in progress. I mess up every week, y'all know, y'all call me out on it all the time. So I'm not a perfect person. But I feel like I want to talk to that person who might be at a crossroads in their life, who might be struggling in that relationship, whether it's a friendship because I'm like to get into that too, or and you know, it might be professional what they're going through, or just with a lover, career, all of that, Like I want, I really want to dive into that. So miss me with that is a fun play on like just miss me with you know, I guess the phrase A lot of people are asking about this. Did you understand what that meant? The prison title of the book? Yeah? I feel like I did, only because I kind of know you and your personality. Yeah, like the way I took it, and correct me if I'm wrong here, But like thank you next, like thank you for the lessons learned, Like like I'm gonna be okay, I'm gonna move on from here like that type of thing like that, that seems sentiment, if that makes sense. Yeah, Like the full thing is like miss me with your BS, like miss you know, I'm trying, I'm not trying not to curse on the last episode miss me, miss me with your let a rock and roll race, this is the last one, go on with the bang. But yeah, it's just like miss me with that. I think so many people come at me with they mis misrepresenting things I say, or misunderstanding or these misconceptions, and it's like, you know what, miss me with all that, miss me with your hate, miss me with your preconceived notions, miss me with your mediocrity, miss me with you know, like all of that. And so each title of the book will be about like you can miss me with with this, and then I'll go into what it is. I cannot wait a fun playoff that. So I'm excited, but I am very very nervous. Thank you for giving me another platform to talk about the book all of that. Once again. You can pre order the book. I know it's not coming out with January. I'm still writing it. So that's why I said, what is it that you want to hear from me? Because there's still some chapters that need to be done, and I need you to pre order it so you can show that there's interest in the book as well. I think I think people will be surprised at something. Some things maybe not. Well, look, I cannot wait. I'm I'm just a huge book room in general. But the fact that like, not only is my friend writing it, but it just seems like something like a book that anyone can take, take one bit of wisdom or knowledge or advice or anything and learn and girl from it. I mean, look like when you talk about like having it together and then being a hot mess express and then having it together and like the roller coaster that is life, that is something that everybody can relate to. Before we started recording this, I already said that I'm going to be starting in the book club with one of the producers on here. So we are going to order the book and read it, and if anyone else wants to join the book club, by all means please dm me. We would love that. But Rachel, I'm so incredibly proud of you. I mean, you just continue to blow me away with everything that you do like you are one of the hardest working women that I've ever met. Individuals female like you just are such a hustler and in like such a creative, inspiring way, And so I can't wait to see you with this book and where this takes you and then everything else sets to come. We've been talking a lot about manifestation before we were recording, and I have no doubt that even bigger, better things are going to come for you in your lifetime. So I'm just I'm excited to be on the sideline as a friend cheering you on, and I can't wait. But speaking of cheering you on, because it marks the one hundredth episode and your last episode, why not celebrate all things Rachel Lindsay. And so today we're celebrating one damn good co host, one damn good friend, one damn good author, reporter, interview, Like literally the list could go on and on and on, and like I would just love to take a look at your resume to see, like I feel like it never ends. Um, but we've had so many great moments together on and off the podcast. But luckily a lot of the great moments so we've had together we're recorded um So, we're gonna be pulling the top ten moments from some of our favorite episodes that you have done to just celebrate you and take take our listeners on another walk a down memory lane. UM So, we not only have that, but you know, it wouldn't be a Bachelor franchise podcast if we didn't have a few surprises along the way. I'm just sprinkled in there as well. Um h Okay, they're gonna be it's gonna be good surprises. And I love surprises. But I think you'll like these surprises. You know. You know I wouldn't do anything militia just to you. You know, I like you. So it mean it was maybe somebody else, maybe we'd mess with them a little bit, but not not because I could always hit leave on this zoom. I just want to make that known lost the connection. Um So, before we get into those moments, I mean, like, overall, how do you feel knowing that this is episode one hundred. I'm gonna be honest, it feels like episode one thousand. I feel I you know, and I'm saying that in a positive way because I feel like I've been doing this forever. I feel like this is our weekly thing. It's wild to me that we've done more episodes remotely than we have in person. My gosh, we used to have so much fun in the office when there are dogs and just like drink and nats and like do three episodes at a time, bringing another one another one. It's so much fun. I just I say that in a positive way where it's like I just feel like I've been doing this forever and that's that's you know, I have to attribute that to you as a co host, just like it seems effortless. It's just fun. It's just girlfriend's talking. So it's kind of a surreal moment. I don't think it's hit me yet. I don't think it'll hit me until you announced another co host, which I'm not gonna lie. There's gonna be a little jealousy there. Who is she who? It's Yeah, I think that's when it'll settle in or or when Katie season starts, because I you know, I say, I'm like, probably not gonna watch, but Brian's such a fan of the show. I'm gonna I'm gonna end up watching it, and then I'm gonna be like, Okay, well, I guess I gotta take notes. I got I gotta talk about this tomorrow, and there is no tomorrow to talk about it, you know, So that's that's what it's gonna hit me. But you know, it doesn't mean that we can't have watch parties exactly. We'll still have our watch parties. You know. I'm still gonna be blowing up your phone every now and again, do something crazy happen. I'm gonna be like writing you notes during it. I'm gonna be like, say, Sael, Rachel's note, just a segment, just still a segment on the podcast. Rachel's gonna ask for our recording schedule, So just so you can text me and be like, Okay, what are you guys covering right now? Make sure you get this point in there. But again, like the door will always be open for you. So anytime you want to pop just I mean, he'll just come to my apartment and bring copper. We'll have some we'll have some wine, we'll drink some champagne. You know, you'll just be in the background being like, Becca, did you cover that good? Rachel's is gonna pop in? Let me borrow those headphones real quick, Beccah. Yes, But I mean it's here one hundred episodes, and I really want to get into the fun good stuff. I do it. I hope this is all fun for you. I hope it doesn't like trigger any like weird memories of like different interviews that you might have done without me. I'm not sure, but let's just get into it. So we're gonna start back at the very beginning one of the I think this was one of your first episodes pre me from August of twenty nineteen with um the infamous Jed Wyatt and Where's the Dock? I got in that ass, had to curse for jet I got in that ass early, and oh my gosh, that's so much fun. Planically play it. I would really like to touch on the dock. And a lot of people will probably not believe this, but if you went to Haley and even asked her, she would tell you the truth on this, I would hope. But the dock is a metaphorical thing for meditation that I taught her. That's what it was. It was not a physical dock. And to the public eye, it's gonna look like an actual doc. And when I read that note back, I was like, damn it, that looks like I'm saying, let's meet at this dock. But I practice meditation. I'm passionate about it. It was something that I taught her to do, to go to this dock in her mind and to like sit there and be at peace. And that's what that was. I had asked him, I said, where was the dock, where's the dock jet, where's the duck? Oh my gosh. That was so early episodes. I remember I had all my questions together. I listened to him and that forty seconds or whatever that was, and I'm like, what, what was Hannah Brown thinking? And what I I completely forgot about this and this is I mean I had listened to this episode when you did this with Ali. I'm still like re listening to it. I think my eyeballs almost got stuck in the back of my brain because I'm just like, what the hell. Yeah, I'm I'm glad I wasn't there for that, and I feel like I didn't go as hard on him as I wanted to. But it was that was the beginning of the of us doing this podcast. I mean we were like a couple of weeks in. I was like ready, I had all like you know, he had pretty much embarrassed Hannah, and I was like, this is a moment to take up for her. And I was ready. I was in the Hamptons. This was weeks before, weeks before my wedding, and so I was like, come on, Jed, let's go. I can't even imagine. Thank goodness, it wasn't in person for him, because I can't even imagine. I feel like and there. I feel like when I listened to a back, there was so much disconnect because like you're just interrogating him, like asking him questions, and I felt like Ali was kind of just like, you know, I'm looking at him and I'm seeing one thing and I don't know. It was just people were so mad at Ali mess after I just he was messy. But you know, I guess the moral of the story is I will never look at a doc the same again. I don't know, where's the doc, Jed, where's the doc? Okay, Well, let's get into the next one. This was from a little bit after that. This was from September of twenty nineteen that you did an exclusive with Mike Johnson, one of the faves. But I want to say you did make history because to my knowledge and again, I didn't watch the show before I was on it. You are the first contestant to wear a do rag and im, oh, we have to talk about that. Hey, King, let's go. I think I stood up and clapped when I said, this is the really shit I've ever seen on the show. I'm always be me, always be a hunted to myself. I like Mike. I like Mike. I love Mike. Shout out to Mike and Brian. If you don't already subscribe to talking it out do it now. They're having some real conversations with a different perspective, and you guys are missing out if you're not listening to it. I'm serious, it really is. Yeah, it's good. It's good. They're great. Um. I was so eager this was I want to say, this was the first time that I had done an interview for Bachelor Happy Hour without a co host, and so it was just me and Mike one on one. Mike to me was when I did that interview and and like I still am a big Mike fan, was it was like no questions asked that he should be the next Bachelor, and I was very disappointed, and I had made that known on prior podcast that it was not Mike as an next Bachelor, and so I was really eager to talk to him, get his perspective, hopefully see people see a different side of Mike an in depth conversation. I was really I was really proud of that interview, and ever since then we've been brother and sister. He just I've met Mike twice in person. He just has such good energy and he's just like present with everyone. That's why I think, like more so even like, you know, at this point, we obviously knew Peter was going to be Bachelor when you would interviewed him, but I think I was more shocked when they had announced Matt James over Mike, and I think, you know, you never know what's going to happen in the world of Bachelor Nation. I mean, look, they had already come back what like five or six years later after he was on the season, so you know, again we're all about manifestation here. Maybe I want him to do it. I don't know if I just feel like it's after Peter season, everybody was like, oh, should have been Mike. Yeah, no ship. Then after Matt James, Everyone's like, should have been Mike, Okay, yeah, listen, listen, it should have been whatever. Um, but I think Mike has moved on. He's doing other things. He's just released that he's active producer of like these shorts. So I think for Mike it's it's in his I mean, never say never, And this is not him. He did not tell this to me. This is me speaking and giving my opinion. I think it's in his rear view mirror, and um, you know he's going to do bigger things. Yeah, yeah, definitely, for sure, we're going to honor or living that bachelor life and Austin please, they're having too much fun and Rachel, before we get to the next pilot, we do have this is this is the very first little surprize that is to come better. Little being the key word. Rachel, Rachel, Rachel Echel Lindsay, congratulations, you hit one hundred episodes like you're doing. Literally, let me just let me just be honest with you. I've only known you since I've been in the Batchel Nation world, and I want to be just like you. I look up to you. I'll talk greatness behind your back all the time, and I have full confidence I'm gonna keep on talking amazing things behind your back, to all walks of life of people, and you will continue to be an inspiration to me and so many other people. I wish it I was there. I'll give you a big squeeze and hug. I know that my brother Brian is gonna be supporting you along the way and all of your adventures. Can't wait for the book to drop as well. Rachel is your favorite? X? Nick Vile roll the clip. I want to know why is Nick your favorite? X? Oh? Nick? Nick and I just had that's a great question. Nick and I have this mu mutual respect for one another. I think from the beginning, we hit it off and we knew we would be friends. We knew we would We knew probably that it wasn't gonna be forever. We weren't gonna get married, but I knew that, but we we From the moment I met Nick, I knew that we were going to be really cool. And we've maintained a level of respect and friendship since we've been off the show, which I don't think a lot of people like I've been on Nick season. I don't think a lot of people say that about someone they've been on a season with. Yeah, I Nick is my favorite. X. That's the truth. I I it's we we did. We clicked. I came into a season so skeptical and after our first conversation I was like, okay, like we're we're we're gonna We're definitely gonna be friends like we would be friends in real life, and we are in real life, you know, like I've seen Nick's new house. We have this upcoming double date where I get to meet his new girlfriend. Um, now that Brian is here, we've got this plan. So yeah, Nick and I I do. I have a lot of respect for Nick. I love his hustle, I love what he's doing. I feel like I understand him in a way that maybe some girls for my season didn't. So yeah, he's definitely my favorite. I am a person too that's friends with their exes except for this, the relationship before I was on the Bachelwood, which I could read about I can't wait. But but Nick, Yes, Yes, Nick, I adorn it, and I think it just speaks to your character of being able to still have these mature, respectful relationships. Like you know, every relationship with every sort of partner is different, but the fact that you can still speak so highly of each other speaks volumes to who you are. And I think that's really incredible because we've seen, I mean, we've seen all sorts of relationships play out after every season of Bachelor and Boucherette. But a lot of times people don't say that close or they feel awkward or like they can't have that connection. So I think that's something super special that you know. I think it's incredible that that you guys are able to and um, yeah, speaks to your character Stelf doing something with Nick in the future. I think we could work together. Oh I'm not saying that we're working on something. I'm just saying, like I could think, are you are you hinting? No, I'm putting it out there, beccaft it Okay, okay, great, alrighty next up another man? Thanks? Are all all the guys? Um, we have a clip from Peter Webber's Women Tell All on the stage. Then we had this conversation that needed to be had that honestly you spearheaded. Thank you and no, thank you both of you. Though no, it's not we have to give credit were credit is due because you know, we had the conversation where we talked about race. It was uncomfortable, but it was necessary. And I don't know if you guys know this, but you know, Sitny and I had a conversation because of a lot of hate that she was receiving. And I am one to brush things under the rug. I'm like, Okay, I get a message, delete, move on, but that's not what everybody does. And I'm acting like it's not an issue and it's a problem. And it was you who made me say, you know what, it is a problem and we need to talk about it. No, Sydney, Yeah, it was that was that was eye opening for me because I think prior to that moment, I had been focused on what I was going through and and like I said, I can just like delete it, keep it moving, and not really focusing on as a whole what people of color in this franchise were going through. I was, of course big on diversity and representation, but not how they were navigating Batchel Nation, not how the audience was treating them. I wasn't looking at that end of it. And it was Sydney who opened my eyes up to that, and so I'm forever grateful for it. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity on stage to talk about the bullying and the racism that people of color constantly get from Vast Nation, and hopefully I hope it made some kind of impact. I hope that it made the nation better and I just I really hope it affected one person and I'm forever grateful to Sydney for opening my eyes to that. So yeah, well, I think it was the first time for much of the viewers to be privy to kind of what goes on behind the scenes on social media, to a lot of contestants and just the nastiness sets out there. You know, I think most people who watch the show, they don't think twice about it. They think, Okay, we're watching this love show and oh yeah, like we have our opinions and we might DM somebody here and there. They don't realize how invested a lot of people are whether it's good and bad. And so I think you were the first person to really highlight that and bring it to the forefront and make it a conversation, which I applaud. And because of that, we have two more surprises to in right now, just to get testament too. We hadn't count these surprises one hundred episodes. Wow, Rachel, you did that. You did that also, Becca, congrats to you two because you will keep it going, keep the torch going. I'm so excited for you and all the things that you have coming up. Congratulations for making it, for giving us truth, for giving us a life, for telling it like it is so much. You are an inspiration to so many people. I just I Natasha from the moment I saw her, from from the from Kats and rats and rats. We have loved Natasha and for both of us, she has been a friend off camera, off the mic, and so hearing her um message obviously means so much. And then to get to get Joe to leave a message. Even though it was only twelve seconds. I saw when it popped him. I was like, twelve seconds. What could Joe say in twelve seconds? A lot? Joe said a lot, and I appreciate him. I have had fun with him every single time he's He might have been the most frequent guest host we had before other than you, before you of worth the official house. So Joe, thank you so much for those well wishes. And it is not a consolation prize by any means for Clickbait because Clickbait is over there doing their thing for sure, and I love what he's bringing to the show well, and I feel like I don't want to see you trained them well, but you kind of helped pave the way, especially for Joe to get his foot in the door in this podcast world. And I mean, yeah, I feel like they listen to Bachelor Happy Hour and take so many notes and takeaways from you each and every week, and you just have been an incredible mentor to so many people. So yeah, it's been fun to listen to them and kind of see how you helped pave the way. So that was a good one. Good one. We're three for three here three for three. All right, Well, this next one was a very fun episode that we did. It wasn't a recap per se for an actual actual bachelor or Bachelor at episode, but it was one with none other than the Rita Wilson herself. So take a listen. I started songwriting about us seven years ago. And when I did, it was because another songwriter, Kara Diagardy, said to me, you shouldn't write songs and I was like, well, I don't read music or play an instrument. She said, it's okay, do you have something you want to say? And when she said that, it was like, yes, this is about telling stories. And that's one of the reason why I love country music so much, is because there's so much great storytelling in there. Such a fun episode. Who would have known we would have the opportunity to talk to Rita Wilson, I know, I mean, she does it all. I feel like I learned so much more from her. We sang with her at that moment. That's when it came out that she knew the words to hip hop ray. I think that wasn't it was any nature song. For sure. She's so cool, She's so chill. I mean I'm telling you, if I didn't have Brian in my life, I'd be trying to get a chet Hanks because we know that he loves the system. We know Chant loves the brown skin with him. I'm trying to be in the family, Rachel. You know what I remember from that episode is well, there's a lot that I remember. But before we got on, I think you texted me and the producers and you were like, Copper has diarrhea right now. I don't think I can make it. And we were all like, uh, you cannot miss Rita Wilson. You have to be in this episode And I'm so glad that you were because it was such a fun one. And like you said, like never in a million years as we think we'd be sitting down I mean virtually sitting down with Rita Wilson. I mean, damn. And I'm glad Copper pulled got a ship together before he came on. I think we took him to the hospital. Act I can't there was it was like the summer of diarrhea for Copper and he I don't know what we were feeding him. He kept getting sick. No, I don't know what it was, but he hasn't had about since next summer, so you know he's doing fine. Guys, copper always got something wrong. It was the beginning of quarantine. Everyone was anxious. I understand it. Copper Man had been well, we couldn't include the top ten highlights without including some of our favorites. And if you guys never listened to this episode, please go back because it was from May and June of twenty twenties. So in the midst of Quarantine, we had some of our favorite people. Somebody who two people who I think are very integral to the Bachelor Nation family and the leads, and that was with Gina and Carrie, who they're the makeup artists and the stylist for the show. So take a listen. And it had stones, jeweled stones, three of them, all the way up to the top of the split. And I loved it. And my makeup was perfect because it was dark and it was like intense and it just matched the boldness of the dress. It was beautiful. I loved it. It's one of my favorite looks from that season. Hair, makeup dress. It was stunning. That one really was. That wasn't pretty randy. Sometimes playing dresses do work I know everybody thinks that there's no reason behind why everybody wear sequens and things like that, that they all think that I do this to you. Guys. I've warned all of you, I'll never push you into a gown before I dive into our Dear Gina and care Bear. I'm gonna pick up on that what he just said about Carrie not forcing us into anything. I've seen some rumblings around mine, dear care Bear, about the way that he dresses us. And I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again. The lead chooses what they wear. So if you love it, guess Carrie gives you a room full of clothes and you pick what you want to wear on the season. The input that is given is, oh, it's warm, it's it's hot, you're you know, you're getting wet whatever. That's the only input given. The style is up to the lead. So if there's a particular item that you didn't like, don't go throwing care Bear's name under the bus. Blame it on the lead. But what I do love is that Carrie and Gina allow us to be ourselves, and so we do have the freedom. They provide the goods but we have the freedom to choose the look that we want. And if you trust Carrie and China with the experts that they are, then it all comes together. And that's what I love about that clip, because that's a clip of me explaining how the dress and the makeup, it's just the whole look. Everybody worked together to make one of my absolute favorite looks. And that's the beauty the tag the tag team, the dynamic duo, comedic duo. At some point some points of Carrie and China, they're the gift that keeps giving. They truly are, and they're just like they become family, And what I think is also really incredible, not like forming friendships with people that are on the show and with other contestants that you see, but with people like Carrie and Gina and like Rachel. You probably out of any lead, I would say, And I know I'm going to piss some of the bad shorts off because I know that they probably think that they're the top, But I will say, I think you are Carrie's favorite, and I think he always will be. Carrie loves everybody and I always does, and I'm like, you love the way you always invite people to hang out. Is how Carrie is with his love for each league you know, so, yes, yes we do. We definitely have a close relationship. But he does love all his betties. He does. And I'm just gonna say this right now because you know I'm gonna make it happen, but we are going to be having to seep over at Carries one day, very soon. We have to now still I live in the neighborhood. Yeah, you're close to Carries. It's called an obsession, ladies and gentleman can't stay too far from him. And with that, we got one more surprise for you, babe. Congratulations on your one hundredth episode of Bachelor Happy Hour. You are a pioneer. We know that every single episode you brought it strong and you always kept it real. I just want to let you know that we are going to miss you tremendously, and I also want to let you know that I am so proud of you and I love you so much. Congrats. What a guy at just the door. He's too He's too good for me. Equally, as I was listening to that message, I was wondering where in the house he was standing. I was trying to I was trying to look at the our work in the back. I was like, where is he standing? I adore Brian. I as much credit as people want to give me to stuff or about stuff or comp on me for what I'm doing, I couldn't do any of it without the support of Brian nothing. I love my Brian to pieces and very very thankful for him. I was half expecting when I was introducing that surprise for it to be Carrie, and then when he goes babe, like people, you and I know who the surprises are. Either, Oh, that's so funny because I don't know what we're surprises for me too. I didn't think it'd be Carrier Gina because one thing we didn't say is that was we said it on the actual podcast, but that's the first time they've ever done a podcast. They both hate to be on camera, so I was like, wow, if they really got them Wow, yeah no, But then they ended up loving it. Carrie texted me after He's like, I would do that again. We could maybe do it at my house. I was like, hell, yeah, no. Brian is so sweet and honestly, like, I look up to the both of you so much and like the type of relationship you have that just supports each other and it has such a strong foundation. That's what ideally, ultimately I would like to end up with. And so you know, every time people ask me if the show works, I'm like, look at Rachel and Brian, That's why people do the show. It's because of you two. Well, thank you and Becca manifesting Well, I just got really hot and Sunty it's coming all right. Next up. I don't even know what number we're at right now, but we're just gonna keep banging out. These top highlights. We have Claire's first interview on Bachelor Happy Hour, which was in June of twenty twenty, when she was still in quarantine before she even went on to start her season. So, for you, are you happy that you got this extra time to kind of self reflect on when you started with this whole franchise, you know, having those meetings, going through Paradise, going through Winter Games, and then to where you are now. Are you happy you've had this time to reflect on just who you are as a person, but then also what you want to be as a bachelorette. Yeah, I would say instantly if you asked me that. Right when we went into quarantine and finding out that it would be a few months, I would be like, no, I'm ready for this, But it has Everything happens for a reason, right, Rachel, Like it has given me the time to sit and go what is my message? Like, what is it that I want to share with women my age. Despite all the things that you're reading in the tabloids are on social with Claire and Dale, it doesn't take away from how powerful that interview was. Remember that, it doesn't take away from the person who Claire is. Like, everybody's got their own shit right, and everybody has And I someone told me a long time ago, nobody knows your relationship like you do the two people who are in it. And I can't even imagine how hard it is to publicly go through all the things that they've gone through and people giving their opinion self included me, give me mine. But Claire was so powerful in that interview, Like it became emotional just to see what she's been through, where she's what she's gone well, what she's gone through, where she's going and just and how she's survived it all. And she's come out bigger and better than ever. And I'm proud of that interview that we had with her. It was such like a uplifting, inspiring, empowering girl moment. And I would encourage anybody if you haven't listened that, if you're a New Bachelor Happy Hour listener, maybe you skip that episode, go back and listen to it. If you need just to be to lift your spirits, if you need some type of encouragement, that's the episode for you. Claire was really doing some preaching in that episode. YEA loved it, Yeah, And I think such a good takeaway was you know, sometimes especially women in our society, it's so caught up on age and like we have this timeframe of when we need to be in a relationship, when we need to get married, when we have to start having kids. And for Claire, I mean like, yes, she was at that point like one of the oldest leads that the franchise has ever seen. But like that shouldn't define who somebody is, like whether they're worthy or not. To find love and to find what they feel like is going to fill their lives. And I think that was such a special message for men and women alike. But it was just this, as you said, like very inspirational, uplifting momentum. One of my favorites that we did. I want to call it like the quarantine closet summer when we were stuck in our closets for corny, I think, with all of our clothes. Yes. Oh, we've got from from the studio to the closet to now our own apartments. We've been places. Um. Okay, so this next one, you guys, Rachel, you requested this one last week and I said, by golly, if this one is not included, I can't do this episode. But over the summer last summer, we had a phenomenal woman who I think we were graced with vatro nation was graced with, and that was none other than Grandma Honey. So let's hear her right now. Okay, Grandma Honey, can you say hello? Mom? Say hello, hey, Grandma Honey? How are you? Tyler? Can you speak just a little bit louder? Can you say hello again? Hey Grandma Honey? And Tyler, how are you doing? Hi? Tyler? I really enjoyed watching you. I'm the Bachelor and I have named you the sexiest guy there. You can't you probably can't hear can you hear her? I? Have I have headphones on, but she can hear you. She said that she named you the sexiest guy in Bachelor Nation. She just wanted you to know that. Oh, I mean that family, three generations, Bachelor fans, they all connect over the show. Those are the kind of stories that you love to hear. It's it's so I mean, Becca, you got to experience this doing Batchel Alive on stage, but we don't get to connect with our fans and hear from them in that way. So to see to see a family connects over this show, it brings something. It's I don't know, it hits. It hits in a different way. It doesn't make it feel like this silly show. It makes it feel like this is something that um bonds people. And and that was That's probably one of my top three episodes. And we got banana bread out of it. And from time to time they still email. I know when like I was going through some stuff this year, the family reached out to me through email. They're just they are salts of the earth people. Grandma Honey is a gem. A gem. Yeah. Yeah. That was one of the most fun episodes and just like very touching and just the fact that these three women, these three generations can bond over something in the midst of quarantine. And I know how tough it was for them to not feel like they could always be together and be present, but that the show bonded them with something really special. And yeah, as you said, I mean, we got some great home cooked food out of it, and they're just like to stay. They'll still email and if they know things are you know, kind of dicey in whatever moment, just the sweetest like that Kellman family. I mean, Lord, then we know, and there's probably Becca. There's probably so many other Grandma Honeys out there that we're never going to get to talk to. But we just want to give you all the shout out and to the other families that watched together, mothers and daughters and grandmothers and best friends and co workers and classmates or whatever it may be, all the people that come together to watch this crazy show that we're a part of. Like that episode was, I feel like it was an ode to all of you. Yes, And speaking of odes, Rachel, you gave one to one lofty man from Clarentatious season, and that was none other than to Bennett. You know, he rose and then he fell real quick, and you addressed that on this episode, So take a listen. The time is Combecca. I've alluded to clinics. I don't have Kleinex. Sadly, I guess I'll just have to use my own shirt. But the time has come a day I thought I would never see, and I would just like to prepare for the moment. I'm already dressed in black, obviously for the occasion. I'm gonna put on sunglasses because I'm not just I'm not quite sure how where my emotions are going to take me. But those of you watching, I'm setting up a cross an athletic candle because we have some sad news to report today in Batna, in Battlination. Last night, we lost someone great. And that's someone great was Bennett. Pause for dramatic fact. Oh shit, I just want that whole thing to roll because it was so dang good. I was in a zone. I love Bennett. It's not often that you can connect with a character from TV that way. And the sad thing is, y'all, I've never been of I wait till the day that I actually meet the Bennett I am. I gotta get my second shot. I need this world to open up. I need to get down to New York. I was gonna say, Georgia, New York to meet the Bennett if I land in New York, I'm not calling Natasha, I'm not calling Tasia. I'm calling Bennetts. No, You're calling Bennett's private driver to pick you up. Probably, yeah, yeah, I expect that to definitely like bring out all the stops for me because I was a big supporter. Um yeah, No. I really enjoyed watching Bennett. I know people had to love hate relationship with him, but he was a character and it was fun to watch, and especially you know the season during COVID there wasn't much that they could do, and they definitely tried their best at the Laquinta. But Bennett, that's that is one hell of a job in casting, and I commend you for it. I might get onto you for the lack of diversity, but you got one a couple of points, Bennette. I will say that was like one of my favorite moments of you when you showed up that day and you were in mourning and you wore your black and you had your black beret, and I was gonna say but day and that's that goes in a toilet. But you and your sunglasses, you were in mourning. And you know, much like Bennett played a character on TV, you played a character when you gave that eulogy. And so for all of our listeners, if you can go back and listen to that whole clip, like Rachel, if and when I die, you have free reign to give a eulogy at my funeral. Please had a want a reputation. And you know, we've talked about this manifestation, but everyone's sentiment here for all of these mini surprises that we have had is that they can't wait to see what comes next for you because none of us have a doubt that it's going to be so much bigger and better and brighter and impactful. And that's you know, that's just we all recognize it, and that's something really special. So with that, and I feel like, it's crazy because we've come full circle because Bennett was on tatious season and oh my gosh, all the things. You know, we're all intertwined in this weird Vacher Nation family. If you want to say thank you Tasia for bringing Bennett along as far as you did. Yeah, that we could enjoy him. I could have been a little longer, maybe, but could have been. I don't want to say that but yet. But Rachel, the time has come to our top final highlight. One of my personal favorite episodes, one of the most recent ones we've done, and I'm not even say it's my favorite because it was racing, but it was just so dang fun because it was literally like what we would do if we were in her pajamas, sitting on my couch drinking wine. And that was when we brought back all of the nineties nostalgia. So take a listen to the most fun episode I think we've ever done. I love to listen to the nineties playlist, Nineties music. That's what I was just looking up on my phone. Nineties music. It's like these one hit wonder songs. Do you remember the song? The way? Sing it for me? Even even though the road that they walk on is paved. And I think I'm making up the worst as I'm saying it, But you don't know, I know, you know what I'm talking about one hit wonder. I'm looking at this list right now. Um, these aren't one hit wonders. But like remember mister Jones, Oh Wonder Wall, Oh Fine, loveful Love, bead Love, be say they're all that in love me. Here we go. We're just gonna take off and keep singing. At this time, I know, Brian and I went on a road trip to Santa Santa Barbara. I almost in Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, and I was like, okay, what are we listening to? And immediately our go to was nineties. We put on the nineties playlist and jammed out all the way to Santa Barbara. There's it's just such a time. You know, I was born in the eighties and so you say you're an eighties baby, but the nineties raised me so like that just brings back such a beautiful time and I'm so glad we had that moment. And honestly, the listeners loved that episode. We got so much feedback on how we took them back and how it was fun for them to listen along and just remember a simpler time as well. Man, Yeah, and that was just such a fun episode because, like I said, it was just like normal things that people would probably talk about it. They were just hanging out in the comforts of their own home. And at that time when we recorded, there was so much heaviness going on, and there was a lot that was transpiring within the world of Bachelor Nation, and so for us to just take a beat out of that and be transported back to a different decade, and just to say, I'm honestly surprised that they let us sing for so long on that episode. But I mean, best takeaway we could have ever gone from that is that, like, I can't wait for the world to open up and take you out to karaoke with me. I know, so much fun, so much fun. I can't wait. I can't wait. Come on, June fifteen, can't come soon enough. I might honestly reserve a table at whatever the nearest karaoke bar is for us come the fifteen. But Rachel, like, I can't believe, I mean, there's so much that we could have included in this episode, and obviously we have to try to keep it too or for our listeners to not totally tune out. But um, like I just want to say first and foremost, through all of these episodes in the past year and a half, basically that I've been doing this with you, it's never really once felt like work. It's always felt like like for me, you know, I've been going through a lot, especially within the last year, and for me it was such a good escape to just talk with you and be with you and laugh and get your advice and just to have such a solid sounding board. Like it was never work. It was always so much fun. And I truly don't know I think made it was kind of upset because she knows this is your last I guess can you're a barking in the back, But I just feel so honored and grateful and like I hate to say blessed, but I do feel like that not only to have had this opportunity, but to do it alongside you, Like I truly could not have imagined anyone better to walk this this podcast world with. And as you know, you know, I was very hesitant to start, and I didn't quite know if I wanted to, but you were the reason you were the factor of what sold me and like why I gave the yes behind it to sign that contract. And I know that you've not only inspired me and it helped me in so many ways, but you've been such a pivotal force in vaterination for so many contestants, Like you, out of anyone, I think whether you fully recognize the power and that the change that you've had in this franchise, it's there and it's so impactful and so meaningful, and I know there's a number of contestants to be included that just like thank you for you and everything that you've done, for being such an outspoken source for so many people and just such a pivotal person in this franchise. Like I'm truly honored to have been doing this for so long. And I don't want to keep ram because I feel like I'm going to cry, and it's already been a week. But this isn't the end of us. I'm so grateful for your friendship, and I mean, you're stuck with me for life. One day when we can actually be together all the time and be seeing karaoke and be drinking wine on the couch.
