Episode 36 - Imperial Psychers, Black Ships, and the Astronomican

The 40k Lorecast

On today's episode we talk about pyschers in the Imperium of Mankind. How many are there (originally a lot, but that number diminishes quickly). We then take a quick dive into Navigators and Astropaths and how critical they are to the Imperium. After that we dive into the Black Ships and the incredible nightmare that they are. We then finalize with what the Imperium is really doing with all the psychers they place in the black ships. *spoiler alert* it is not festive or happy.

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to Forty K. Lordcast with me, John Barisati and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_03]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: On today's cast, we're going to discuss where all the sikers in the period mark.
[SPEAKER_03]: There should be a lot more of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they're not also water black ships once the answer telepathica and a whole lot in the astronomical.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to get real dark real fun.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it's not going to be one of our happier castes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Before we begin, as always, it's time for the plugs.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like and subscribe, the podcast, please, can't unharpe in the discord enough.
[SPEAKER_03]: Please join the discord.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's actually quite large.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're over three or two members now.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's also vibrant.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a lot of interaction.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've got lots of different things.
[SPEAKER_00]: On every channel too, there's so much talk and everything from hobby to talking about the episodes, talking about future episodes, to talking about just literally random stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's my first literal, by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: We actually do use this thing actually.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we literally use this thing on an episode ideas.
[SPEAKER_03]: People have written to us the space in the episode was completely one that came out of our discord.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was not something.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be probably what have done in our own event.
[SPEAKER_03]: But he got moved up the list massively by the discord.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've got some other ones.
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, this one also came out of it too.
[SPEAKER_00]: because this is wildly not something we were planning.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so this is fantastic.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so if you do, if you like it, if you like the episode and you want to come in that way, please join the Discord, do it that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also a Facebook page, you can reach us via its great.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you want to support us, we have a Patreon, the link in the show notes for that too, to help us get better microphones.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I can lean away from the microphone again, better audio equipment.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about the fact that we should probably also
[SPEAKER_00]: Support the thing that I do.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for those who are not aware, Brad is actually exceptionally good at Warhammer.
[SPEAKER_03]: He is, I say, actually, I mean, a bad way.
[SPEAKER_03]: He loves the lore, but Brad is a top ten player of Warhammer every single year.
[SPEAKER_03]: One thing that Brad does with that is he does coach.
[SPEAKER_03]: He offers coaching.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's online coaching over the phone.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a lot of different options.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I going to, as everyone on this cast knows how incredibly honest I am.
[SPEAKER_03]: Brad is quite good at this.
[SPEAKER_03]: From a coaching standpoint, he has helped me out quite a few times, even though this is even full-blown coaching, just a, hey, I was going to run this two thousand point list and he's going, well, throw those three hundred points right in the garden and then put these three hundred points in and you actually might do something with it and he's been right every single time.
[SPEAKER_03]: So even if you're just a casual player who just is getting you just getting you to the game, once have a better grasp of it, Brad's, he's available.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not like you have to sign a six-year commitment with him.
[SPEAKER_03]: I only five year exactly five year.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a great way for people who want to play forty k and are kind of nervous about how it's played, especially through nervous coming to play.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love working with people that are fairly new to the scene, looking to go to a bigger tournament and stuff, a little preparation.
[SPEAKER_00]: is I will lead to a ton of success and not just success as far as I'm going to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Five and oh, it's about having the best time you can possibly have.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one of the biggest things is we're playing with toy soldiers.
[SPEAKER_00]: You should be having a great time.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will help you have the best time while doing the best you can do.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's also a matter of not doing something that's going to make you auto lose five games to the exact same mistake that you then have to go home for tournament.
[SPEAKER_03]: Go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, damn it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not taking something that you're not going to have fun with because you saw someone online say that this was the best.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'll be ever told someone to get a good guy.
[SPEAKER_03]: She went to click off and
[SPEAKER_03]: have ever made for two tournaments in a row.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you should have taken two.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would think I would think I would think I would squig off, but can't do that anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, so with that, let's jump into the whole line.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bradchester one and GML.com.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, it's how you reach him.
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's jump into the cast, the origins of psychors in the galaxy is what we want to begin.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we actually don't know the true history of psychors because obviously the emperor was one and he's from around eight thousand BC.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I said BC.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I'm going to say now because that's that it's before the common era.
[SPEAKER_03]: and that's what it stands for.
[SPEAKER_03]: Give it whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, so we understand there's some random stories here and there about the lesser psychors, at least in humanity.
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously there were psychors in the elder.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like we've got parts of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're talking to this is more humanity.
[SPEAKER_03]: Get this cast is solely
[SPEAKER_03]: revolving around humanity.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's pack this up because humanity wasn't born into psychics.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eldar crafted molded born into psychics.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of the other races, the old ones we wouldn't go into the old ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: Old ones are beyond, but a lot of the other races you talk about, the Red Dan think people of that nature were just born into psychics.
[SPEAKER_00]: Humanity wasn't born, psychically aware.
[SPEAKER_00]: We grew into psychically aware.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or we were forced.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's say that, well, it's still, there's a third option, which is, it was introduced to us.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was just going to say, I kind of think that, but, you know, that's a, I think where we're going to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those are bones of, you had magicians, sorcerers, psychers.
[SPEAKER_00]: wizards, and I think that these were all just people, lured by bones of slony, and as each.
[SPEAKER_03]: Historically, when you read the stories, you don't really see that the emperor doesn't really come into heavy power until during the dark age of technologies, when you start doing some of his biggest stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: He starts experimenting.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he was, but he was effectively dormant for, what is that like, twenty five thousand more?
[SPEAKER_03]: He was, he was, he was pretty.
[SPEAKER_03]: He was, he's born eight thousand and then dark age of technologies or whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you don't even know.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've read time that like so many times.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor may or may not have been a case man walking around.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sure.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we don't, but I'm going to go with the most, I think that in the most hot, the most current books, he was born in the eight thousand BC.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he was around for a long time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And effectively, he just scrapbook and kept it journal.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was hung out.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is, he was a precax.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he knew that things were going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he was just trying to really time it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even just time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that he was trying to figure out his own personal power.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he has a, this is a weird thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not just going just in the upper.
[SPEAKER_00]: It will be kind of in the upper.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because there's a lot of things going on with this.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the Emperor is a being of almost unlimited power that had to figure out how to use his unlimited power, because the Emperor wasn't born with a instruction manual.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was the greatest American hero.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're welcome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eighties, this is a cow.
[SPEAKER_00]: The ever new he had power.
[SPEAKER_00]: He can see as power.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has no idea how to get to that power.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I really do think that it took a long time for him to figure out how we could make that power work.
[SPEAKER_03]: I would agree with that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know what ends up happening is you see in mankind during the
[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard to engage the dark age of technology.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's not a ton of detail around this because it's the age of technology, then the dark age of technology and the age of strife are all the same thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's kind of, strife is kind of after they overlap a bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the biggest thing is, is that they're, yeah, well, there's cycles, there's, there's cycles around because he was originally created by the whole.
[SPEAKER_03]: But that's what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what I'm my theory on this is that what you had was, for a long time, humans were cycles.
[SPEAKER_03]: But there were some, the problem is that you had to learn how to be a psycher to the point of the emperor.
[SPEAKER_03]: And unless you're a perpetual, you've got, if you think about life spans, the first human being, probably.
[SPEAKER_00]: It might take you your whole life to know the warp exists.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, you might, you probably don't realize you have these powers till you're maybe in your late teens, that best early twenties.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are powers that could just get you murdered, if speakers people, you know, hey, it's a witch burner.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or you just get killed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Do, by the way, the important thing about witches is they way more or less than a duck.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the dumpster.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, Jeff.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, the issue is that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but they're innocent.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying, what else floats?
[SPEAKER_03]: Small rocks.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not aware.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure you might be Python.
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, these psychers would have had one of your thirty years to master a power that was inconceivable.
[SPEAKER_03]: So most psychers, in my opinion, who were born,
[SPEAKER_03]: probably just died before they could ever manifest any semblance of real power.
[SPEAKER_03]: Or they just got snuffed out and no one knew about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: This changes around the birth of Zech because now Zech can reach into these psychers and offer them the ability to cast spells, which would climb out really well with this age of technology age of strength, where you start to see more and more.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing is that we did lose because they gave a whole lot of, because remember the Emperor was supposed to be created by
[SPEAKER_00]: couple of shaman's who but in the thing is is that we lost our way for a while during the dark age of technology and we didn't we lost our ability or at least people that knew that we have the ability.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, my theory on that is that because what happens is that we you also get stories of is that at the end kind of as we're coming out of the edge of strife is all these stories of worlds that were of exactly sacked by a psych
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we went from zero psychers to all of the psychers, which is my theory is this is more of a zinch thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that we have we never would like to get them over there because never at zero psychers, they just didn't know how to use their powers.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then all of us, we were getting what we were having would be like a modern era psycher for us.
[SPEAKER_03]: With someone, if you were, if it's, if it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it
[SPEAKER_03]: David Blaine, you know what I mean?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I asked what you're going to ask.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll think about it though.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that also Zeanch started off giving wild power to certain people and then realized this doesn't actually give me good long term plans.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a Zeanch figures because you go, hey, I just gave this guy the ability to nuke
[SPEAKER_00]: continents with lightning bolts.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this doesn't help me because someone just shows up and just kills that guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he went, well, I could be very, I could be way more subtle as he started to become more of a big chain instead of a small stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: And probably also had more power to infect more psychiatrists.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what my theory is that it's always been about the same percentage.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, because I mean, with births, it's in percentage of psychiatrists in humanity, but zinc made those psychiatrists so much more powerful that the term psychiatrists bore a lot of this comes from.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like you're going moving from magician to psycho.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's probably what people that could actually do something with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's what people talk.
[SPEAKER_00]: You get a person that could give that got visions here and there to a person that was controlling actual warp hours.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is where the growth of cycles during the age of technology, I think really comes into play.
[SPEAKER_03]: The age of technology is rocking and rolling, mankind is spreading throughout the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And two things happen around the same time.
[SPEAKER_03]: And for those of you who are in the discord, no, I write promise to you all do this.
[SPEAKER_03]: I will, we will do a cast on the men of iron and fall.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is just
[SPEAKER_03]: hard to find the enough resources we went from age of technology which also is considered the dark age of technology came because the men of iron turned at the exact same time the warp storms exploded as slash with was getting close to birth so the entire galaxy is now cut off and
[SPEAKER_03]: But anything from anywhere from a single planet to maybe a system are now have no access.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, we couldn't travel besides the work without the men of iron.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the men of iron decided that they weren't real cool with us.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what they were on strike hard.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we had a huge war between that.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then we have the age of strength, which is when we were all
[SPEAKER_00]: Disappointment.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are everywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're cut off from each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is when individual psychers became a thing because
[SPEAKER_00]: It had to, you were actually, to be fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: You had to delve into those psychic powers to live, to succeed because things started to spiral into chaos into complete.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've got multiple problems.
[SPEAKER_03]: One, the matter of iron, we're in charge of all logistics.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there's no, in which includes growing food.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've got no food.
[SPEAKER_03]: You've also got no protection because the galaxy was still very much so full of horns.
[SPEAKER_03]: There are creatures coming out.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the raggedan probably were around at this time.
[SPEAKER_03]: All these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're getting attacked, you're getting, you're running out of food during this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Zege is offering these psychers incredible spells.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so now you start seeing psychers and the psychers go multiple ways.
[SPEAKER_03]: Some of the psychers use this to kind of uplift and protect their world.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, there's become tyrants.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, become warlords pirates all the things.
[SPEAKER_00]: I read that the Vekno was a cool dude.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is this becomes the aid, the kind of the age of technology, the age of strength.
[SPEAKER_03]: The psychers are growing all over the place.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it is the other side too though that is important here is, and no one knows this, but the use of psychic powers, psychors have a connection to the immaterial, which is now growing, which means you give a way in.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a connect, they keep, well, they keep giving connections.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the more connections, the more they can influence.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we went from their throwing wild, hell, Mary's out and giving these huge powers out, of course, because they only have limited times.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every time there's a connection, that connection never breaks.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's lessens, but there's still a tendril.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's still a tendril.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you keep pushing more and more and more of these.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then,
[SPEAKER_00]: The runes powers can make four days without people calling out.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can approach people.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can start trying to influence more and more.
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess one is they can use you to enter the material.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you now have.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's interesting to me when I read the lore on this because
[SPEAKER_03]: We know that there were entire planets lost to demonic incursions.
[SPEAKER_03]: So in the great crusade, they would come across these worlds.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now luckily, the thing is, number demons can't hold form.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the thing, it's a lot of times they disappear.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's crazy to it because you got to think you have a world that clearly shows that it got horribly huge battles were taking place.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you go, where the hell is all the people there were fighting?
[SPEAKER_03]: There's skeletons.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's just like,
[SPEAKER_03]: something bad happened here, but everyone's gone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it also looks like there was creatures because there's sword marks and claw marks and you're like, where there's zero dead creature.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing here.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you can, because the thing is, I mean, we all listen how fossils work.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can go anywhere.
[SPEAKER_03]: Things don't degrade this well, you know, unless it's just worked away.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing is is that the demons would take the world and then just be bummed because there's nothing left for them to do and then they go away.
[SPEAKER_03]: One thing that this created, and as we've discussed in the past, is an animosity in humanity towards the cycles.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because one piece that we probably should mention here that we didn't on us, a lot of worlds murdered their cycles, as soon as they say.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's like instant.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing is, is that while this is wildly superstition, it also
[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of times us for the good really well because you just didn't get one guy creating a big black hole in the sky that demons poured through.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the thing when you're with as the great crusade is going through.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is where people like Lehman Ross and that had a lot of animosity towards them is that they would they kept going the worlds that thought the great crusade the most were the worlds that oftentimes had psychors in.
[SPEAKER_03]: because those cycles were warlords.
[SPEAKER_03]: They had incredible power and all these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: Whereas the world's who killed off all their cycles, but were able to survive, usually barely.
[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the Imperium with open arms.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there is this kind of becomes a spreads and over time, the viewpoint on psychers is, you know, there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the common denominator.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, every time I have to fight a ridiculous battle where people I know and love die, it's
[SPEAKER_03]: Because these guys are, we have a ten times there there.
[SPEAKER_03]: And even the rest of the times, too, there's a viewpoint of the, oh yeah, they do do some good, which we're about to dive and do in a second.
[SPEAKER_03]: But there's just a lot of animosity.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to get, but before we kind of continue down the cycle path, I do want to take a left turn a little bit into a very, one very specific variation of the cycles because we're going to,
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a cast we're going to be telling a full cast and multiple parts, because everything here interacts.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the problem is that there's not a linear way to do this.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to bounce around a little bit guys just because it's hard.
[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't write this in a way that was linear.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're just going to jump into navigators from psychiatrists.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which you have to have navigators that we don't exist.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So navigators are a very ancient of a cipher, but they're different.
[SPEAKER_03]: First off, they are mute.
[SPEAKER_03]: They have a, they have an eye and an alert for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, also that their music well, they get a job.
[SPEAKER_00]: that sucks so much because the way we treat navigators is horrific.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, we're gonna dive into kind of why we do it that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: But let's start with where they, with the navigators first appeared, we don't know when because the truth is someone has the third eye and might just murder them.
[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, you should have done the third eye.
[SPEAKER_03]: Somewhere around, because the, oh yeah, idiot John, sorry guys, all the travel, dark-age of technology, all right, it's like, oh gee, what's FTL drives?
[SPEAKER_03]: They're what they were using work drives, yep, that that work drives come later.
[SPEAKER_03]: These beings are being born that do have a third eye.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the third eye allows them to actually see into the warp and see distances.
[SPEAKER_03]: These guys do appear during the beginning part of the of the.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's not just this is that they can see the topography of the warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can guide you through the in something you can't see at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can see it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what they're able to do is if you think about it before raising warp drives, what these people could do is they could actually see
[SPEAKER_03]: Distances and no one else could see because he systems away if there was something there that was shiny they just they knew about it
[SPEAKER_03]: Surprise, surprise, they were considered useless in mutants and horrifying for a long period of time.
[SPEAKER_03]: But a certain someone named the emperor found a value in them potentially.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you're going to take the guy that's pre-cog?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: You could be able to see this.
[SPEAKER_03]: What a navigator can do also, if you do it correctly, you could put him on the front of a ship or in the bridge of a ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they can actually help that ship navigate if you're using a warp drive.
[SPEAKER_03]: where the hell you're going, based on fitness.
[SPEAKER_00]: which is really funny by the side story on psychers on this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Imperium tried to use warp drives without galler fields and without navigators.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they tried.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm just saying it's not like they should put did this once.
[SPEAKER_00]: They did this a bunch.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they tried a yellow swag through the war.
[SPEAKER_03]: They were able to do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They were able to do short jumps initially without navigators or galler fields because the warp wasn't that dangerous yet.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they were doing short jumps, but there are stories of like, yeah, the ship would leave, they would all die, or it would arrive like they played August the one month jump and they'd arrive in a week.
[SPEAKER_03]: Other times they wouldn't arrive at the long system.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a little bit of a mess.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the crazy thing about man is that we just kept trying for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, we'll probably figure this out.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, people are dying.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, you're like, not everybody's part of the rest.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're compared to everything the galaxy except for maybe tyrannids, we breed like guppies.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what this is.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're just like, we've got more guys in the guppies.
[SPEAKER_00]: And some of the guys made it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a bunch of people who were on the wrong side of the emperor during the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're in the Great Conquest of Terror.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there's something with them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what happens with Eric gets shot through the jumps to this field.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the navigator is a key thing on the navigator is that they were able to actually help navigate the warp.
[SPEAKER_03]: One key difference between a navigator and a siker is siker seemed to be born randomly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Navigators are a genetic trait.
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know when it first happened.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is it possible?
[SPEAKER_03]: There's great families of Navigators.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and so they actually are.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they're actually houses.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're effectable in nobles.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's, well, to be, to be, again, I think they're, they're more like a guild though.
[SPEAKER_00]: They operate almost like they're doing guilds.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
[SPEAKER_03]: They, they, they have, they are technically nobles, but they have insane levels of power.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the mutation they have, if you, if you, you see images of them, it's usually just a human with a third eye, but when you read the lore, it's much worse than that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Some of them are horrifyingly mutated.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, a lot of them are, they're, they're, they're in due mutated.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's one of the biggest things, and we'll talk about how we treat the navigators, because they get put in the basement quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: But they don't need them to be able to be even exist, because they'll take someone that would die if you left them alone, and they just stuff them in a jar and put them in the basement, and now they're the navigators.
[SPEAKER_03]: One of my favorite stories about navigators is that the emperor hates the re-heated them.
[SPEAKER_03]: He probably still does, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: hit one of the big things.
[SPEAKER_03]: He only allowed their existence because he wanted to finish his web way project.
[SPEAKER_03]: And as soon as whoever probably was over, there were apparently, or in the lower standing words, to kill them all.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it was going to be the custodians, but you'll be all know who is going to be in charge.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, look, no, this is true.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is Dallas.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like if we know who we're going to use for this, just go murder all of them and then the web way thing didn't quite work out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So now we still have them.
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, these are when we use the term mutant, they are well beyond what we would call the appetizing view point of mutant.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the thing is, let's go into this because there was wild mutations amongst psychers.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when I say mutations, I don't mean a third eye.
[SPEAKER_00]: This guy was a little bit taller than everybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, hey, man, this guy's half chicken, half giraffe.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, that seems bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was real bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: That was easy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Those ones would just be, you'd think it cold from the mountains, but navigators because of their value get protected.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, if you're going to navigate one way that really helps you navigate is to have points to navigate.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a pretty big one right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: I lost thirty minutes of my life to this because I had because when I first read it, when I read it the first time, it made no damn sense to me.
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm going to explain to you all going to sit through a John explanation of you might not care, but I lost a bunch of my time to do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't make sense unless the Emperor knew he was going to get smoked.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, so, okay, so the emperor decides in order to navigate the warp, we need to have a key beacon.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so we have light house in the warp.
[SPEAKER_03]: This way, you can kind of navigate your way around the warp based on one point.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's going to be wholly terror.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and this one point, we put enough psychic, because what happened is what navigators really can see within the warp is chunks of high levels of primarily of psychic energy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the idea was, we're going to give them a center point to navigate off of now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also, whoopsie?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, people who have any semblance of how to navigate, you know, in the woods are at sea.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't use one point.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to try and do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's called triangulate because try.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's three.
[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, effectively what this is designed to do is give one fixed point and then you use two what are some of the variable points and that's how you jump around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: The navigator is actually navigate via warp storms and what's going to later to be called the Astronomicon.
[SPEAKER_03]: This doesn't make a lot of sense.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm quite annoyed by it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was hoping that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Astronomicon's basic biggest claim to fame is the fact that it gives the tear and it's a good spot to go to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, we'll get there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, literally next episode, spoiler alert.
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, the Astronomicon, this way the Emperor decided to build a giant
[SPEAKER_03]: Basically, the Emperor decides to build a giant lighthouse that all of his navigators and all of his ships so that he can launch the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the last major construction done on Terra before the Great Crusade begins.
[SPEAKER_03]: The challenge that the Emperor really had to overcome was he needed a beacon that was so powerful and so strong that it could go anywhere.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so he brings him the ad-make and they build a giant structure that focuses psychic energy and magnifies it.
[SPEAKER_03]: The winner in the shape of a throne.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's around a throne.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just on top of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's totally that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not the best thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is, is that here I'm going to go, I'm going to sideline us real quick, which is, did the Emperor always know that he was going to be struck down?
[SPEAKER_00]: Because this makes way more sense than why?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the why is because he needed to reach a massive distance.
[SPEAKER_00]: I get it, but like, if you go, hey, what would be the best way to make this work?
[SPEAKER_00]: If I was
[SPEAKER_00]: Throttle too little.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this is where the astronomical becomes interesting.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the astronomical emperor basically can project his essence to it and then that fuels it and the light just shines brighter.
[SPEAKER_03]: During the great crusade as some of you, what if you got with it?
[SPEAKER_03]: But he wasn't on terror.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: He actually could power the astronomical from across the galaxy for a period of time by just giving a portion of his essence over to it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a big deal in this because bad English dad, he's multitasking a lot during the great crusades.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's doing, the upper is doing great works.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's also doing a bunch of dick shit, but he also again could have taken five minutes and a lot of this would have not been
[SPEAKER_03]: A big deal.
[SPEAKER_03]: One problem is that the entirety of the Imperium's ability to travel is the Ashunaka.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Ashunama Khan, the Navigators have no fixed point of reference, all the ships in the entire galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: are wandering aimlessly or trying to use an FTL drive.
[SPEAKER_03]: And FTL drive is great when you're going one or two light use.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not great when you're going a thousand light.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's also a big deal because of the fact that the Emperor, all the Emperor's plans are pretty goddamn, Emperor specific because
[SPEAKER_00]: All of the Emperor's plans say, I have to be doing this or everything falls apart.
[SPEAKER_03]: In this case, and the issue, this all kind of comes to a head at Ulanor, where the Emperor is leading the charge on the Orcs of Ilanor, and a big Mac grabs him and almost rushes him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Luckily, Horace jumps in and kills it.
[SPEAKER_03]: at this moment, the emperor seems to, you know, he doesn't admit it, seems to have that moment of
[SPEAKER_03]: recognizing his own mortality.
[SPEAKER_03]: And suddenly he's a perpetual.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, but he is.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's questions on him being a perpetual is what I'm getting.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also the fact that he's also has a shit ton of stuff that he's.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he's perpetual, but let's talk about he's a perpetual, but how long does it take a perpetual to come back to?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the true strike.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if all of a sudden, find a perpetual, the Big Mac kills him.
[SPEAKER_03]: But the Emperor's gone for ten years.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's also the fact that he has, there's a bunch of stuff that he's so powerful.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's doing in the background.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's legitimately doing the astromatic on as his breathing exercises as he's doing everything else.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is the true.
[SPEAKER_03]: My opinion, the true reason the emperor hands the reins over the horrors from the back of the terror is that realization that if something goes wrong and I'm caught out here on a wear, my entire empire crumbles.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he decides to go back to what is affecting the safest place.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which could've been stopped by if you just talked to like four people in an email.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, eight people what you were doing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, other than more people than Malkador.
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just put it that way.
[SPEAKER_00]: who's also like Dick Cheney.
[SPEAKER_03]: The other problem that was starting to occur though is as the emperor to Brad's point is doing fifty tasks all at once.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's not able to power the Astronomicon with enough energy to really keep it as bright and shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Is it needs to be?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because the brighter, because basically the Astronomicon determines how far mankind can go.
[SPEAKER_03]: If they can see it, you can go there.
[SPEAKER_03]: If it's who faded, you can't go there.
[SPEAKER_03]: He wants the whole.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he wants the whole Milky Way.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what's the best way to feed that astronomical?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, more energy.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I think if you want if you if you have a light bulb that's kind of dim, you just add you add more electricity.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, how do you add energy on that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, what if there was a bunch of other psychers who could help out?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, here's the thing, John, if you're a psycher, that's not as powerful as the Emperor, and you try to add your psychic energy to the Astronomicon, what happens to you almost instant- Hey!
[SPEAKER_03]: The thing is, we talk about the Emperor's webway project.
[SPEAKER_03]: He actually began this.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're not sure if it's before the Great Crusade or right-be, but it's pretty early in the process the way we project.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it might actually have been like way before.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but he's hard to gauge it exactly when the webway project was.
[SPEAKER_03]: This his plan was always to not use the astronaut.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was eventually not even have effected the night shift.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just use a web way gates to get everywhere at the old art.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, although they don't, but it's a second.
[SPEAKER_03]: However, the Aunt Burma is not even for being a perpetual.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the most patient person, which is, well, the Femper's wildly patient, but he's super impatient.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every time he puts an idea into
[SPEAKER_00]: Once his plans ago, his plan is full-go.
[SPEAKER_00]: No breaks.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they decide to add to the more common made earlier, the astronomical needs to be brighter.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's actually, it's hard to get, does the astronomical need to be brighter?
[SPEAKER_03]: Or does the emperor need to focus with energy elsewhere so he needs to be supplant in the astronomical?
[SPEAKER_03]: No one really knows.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they decide that they're going to let's, we're going to allow.
[SPEAKER_03]: Big air quotes here, guys, allow others.
[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest of the allow here.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're allowed a bunch of other cycles to be hooked into the astronomical to project their psychic power to aid the emperor's psychic power.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be honest to be fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a bigger deal early on.
[SPEAKER_00]: The impereum smaller.
[SPEAKER_00]: The emperors not known as a god, so people aren't willing to just jump off buildings to kill themselves for him.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is when he's just a the leader of the impereum.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're going to talk a little bit very shortly about where they were actually at these cycles.
[SPEAKER_00]: This wasn't religious fervor.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, originally, you should reply to my ad for great opportunity on Tara.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is the original, like, catfished into a, like, sex trafficking code.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's not great.
[SPEAKER_03]: But original, it's the future version that everybody, so what happened is with the Ash Nama Khan action was doing.
[SPEAKER_03]: They built ten thousand seats inside the Ash Nama Khan.
[SPEAKER_03]: And again, when I say, seat, it wasn't a seat.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a place, a human body could be placed.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you get snuffed so fast.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no, you make it, I think the math I was about ten days.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty quick, man, ten days.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're only withering hosts.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just ten days of all of your psychic energy, soul, and being being sucked out into the great machine.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oops.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Emperor actually, though, really to give him some credit here was heavily against this idea.
[SPEAKER_03]: This was Malkador's idea, not the Emperor's idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Mugador, as much as the Emperor does some bad shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mugador was evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Mugador always goes, what's the easiest, shiniest way to achieve what I need to do?
[SPEAKER_03]: No, because the Emperor had a love for mankind and wanted to further mankind.
[SPEAKER_03]: Did he do it wrong a lot of times?
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, most time actually.
[SPEAKER_03]: But Mugador, I actually don't know what Mugador's motivation was.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was best friends with the Emperor and he also wanted the... I really think he always used so practical.
[SPEAKER_00]: But his practicality was always, always evil.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not girl was rough.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he wants to do, he, again, this is a great plan if you have absolutely no ethos.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think what's going to happen here is the emperor's plan was, all right, we'll sacrifice, you know, probably a couple million people.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's like the emperor doesn't really care about people dying that much, but I'll sacrifice a few of them because the web way project will be up and running and then we're golden.
[SPEAKER_03]: Then fast forward, Magnus breaks the web way project.
[SPEAKER_00]: which wasn't going to work, we already said that.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was never going to work for us, but not that man has breaks and then the emperors in tune and said golden throne.
[SPEAKER_03]: And having to use what makes us worse than the emperors, having used his psychic powers to keep his way closed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, because they opened a permanent opening into the emitting of the ematerial.
[SPEAKER_03]: It was not.
[SPEAKER_00]: definitely not the way they go hey man I know you just almost died in all dimensions and your soul got ripped apart your psyche got shattered but we have a serious problem the basement also we really need the lighthouse to work so if you could take care of all of those right now at all times forever every day
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, just let you know that the ruinous powers are going to attack you at all times.
[SPEAKER_03]: And later, we're going to discuss, does the astronomical actually just power the lighthouse and feed the emperor?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's getting power level ten thousand.
[SPEAKER_03]: From there, the next one that we kind of want to move into from the Sikers are Astropaths.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm sorry guys, this feels a little bit disjointed.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's all going to start to make sense pretty soon.
[SPEAKER_03]: We just, these are all kind of independent pieces.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't sure the best way to do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Astropaths are navigators.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're different.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_00]: not that they're different, which is more valuable, or are they just equal?
[SPEAKER_00]: They both have to be.
[SPEAKER_03]: The after path.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think just communications is more important.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's more important.
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_03]: Really that piece of like the difference is so okay, we'll talk about an astropath that's and we'll discuss.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll debate some of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So an astropath.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've had a cycle can see through the work.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can see, but they can't like see, they don't take in the work.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can just see points in the work.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can see warp stores.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're home.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're literally, uh, this happens.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's where they can see.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Astropath actually can communicate to other Astropaths in the work.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what makes that stretch.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, when asked, so if you, if you think about it, if you are
[SPEAKER_03]: ten thousand light years away from some way you want to send a message even at a hundred times a speed of light so takes ten years to get that we need to talk now yeah ask your paths can actually speak now can we talk about how they actually speak now they sing into the warp and they sing it that's just I don't feel like doing that crap if you're into it it's it's actually pretty cool but it's going it's fifteen minutes of your life some of the stories are cool but
[SPEAKER_03]: No, yeah, but both I do now.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the Astropaths that they allowed to do is actual full communication.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Astropaths are probably the most one of the most prevalent psychers in the service of the appear.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and one of the bigger things is this is why they're so coming because an Astropath can be
[SPEAKER_00]: what's considered a fairly low power.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I care.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and the astronauts, but they have to be everywhere.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the astronauts are on every ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we say every ship, I don't mean every Imperial Navy ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you know, Eisenhower has an astronaut with him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every single, you know, Eisenhower has a lot of guys that died instantly.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, actually with the best.
[SPEAKER_03]: Eisenhower goes through a lot of astronauts.
[SPEAKER_00]: People, the people die on that ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: But every single all the road traders would have an astra path with them because if you don't have an astra path, you can't, you can't have a distress signal because this is how everyone communicates.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're sitting there trying to use Morris code, the thing is is that space is just ridiculously.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's why the only way to do it, you'd be sending a message, again, if they're using the speed of light, it could be a month for its receipt.
[SPEAKER_03]: So every single ship has a strap.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also every planet has to have astronauts on multiple levels.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have, you know, short wave communication, obviously you'll have cell phones.
[SPEAKER_03]: They have communication within a planet.
[SPEAKER_03]: But if that planet has talked to a ship,
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe why have multiple modes of communication use as Japan?
[SPEAKER_03]: So they are everywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the cycle that is the most used, but also the most accepted.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now they are still, the cycles aren't treated well, by the way, unless you have power where you can make people accept the fact that you're going to nuke them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as, like, you just let someone know you're a psych or people aren't kind to you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and Astor has people just kind of, they weren't kind of, they were accepted.
[SPEAKER_03]: There was something that we just, that we said, okay, yeah, we have to have.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we'll talk more about what they look like later because it's actually a function of how they're created.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that kind of brings us to the term sanctioned cycle.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is why this point is still hard to make a bit more linear sense.
[SPEAKER_03]: the Imperium of mankind has a massive distrust towards psychos.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they decide.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they pause.
[SPEAKER_00]: They should.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's correct.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is based on reality.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the truth is, like, the numbers, basically what accounts for evil wizards murdering people and or a guy that tried to show you a card trick and everyone died because
[SPEAKER_00]: It demonic in curse.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I would argue a cycle left on about just nine or ten times.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll turn it chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just bad shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he won't mean to because if you people don't know how to control it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they just go, I tried to I tried to make my my little car trick.
[SPEAKER_00]: I try to make you to guess your card and make something on fire and then forty seven bloodthirsty showed up and you're like
[SPEAKER_03]: That is not what I was talking about.
[SPEAKER_03]: That wasn't the goal, because the two of them, you know, Zehnch and Slonesh are hunting down Cycle, right, to invest them.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know it will give us that much of a crap and corn is hunting them down a different way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: They should all die.
[SPEAKER_03]: They remind me of Zehnch.
[SPEAKER_03]: But this is over time.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the imperial decides to create, I mean, decide effectively creates a sanction versus on the sanction Cycle.
[SPEAKER_03]: And a sanctioned cycle is any cycle of the imperium has put through its education program, cough cough re-education.
[SPEAKER_03]: And an unsanctioned cycle is all the others.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which can be shot on site, by the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: The inquisition has the right to murder, just you having the power and not having like the associate like tattoo or job title, you're dead now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you need to be scanned immediately or someone is going to be shooting at you.
[SPEAKER_03]: So to kind of break down the types of sanctioned psychors, we've talked about few of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you were not going to touch on here, you'll figure out why in a second, astropaths, navigators, then what are called primary psychors, which we're going to cover, some inquisitors, librarians, and technically gray nights.
[SPEAKER_03]: But no.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, librarians are the, the psychors from the space.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the primary psychors are psychors that
[SPEAKER_03]: aren't so your place when we say librarians I we didn't I didn't mean the people you know we're gonna do we decimal system now but there's a difference between librarians and primers I guess because primers psychers are all psychers that do are psychic powers that aren't in power that yeah yeah that aren't also a space marine got nineteen organs a lot of which to don't that stop you from getting places it's important I could poison you wouldn't want to get poisoned that
[SPEAKER_03]: So the act of sanctioning a cycle is done by who else than the debt this telepathica.
[SPEAKER_03]: They oversee all the cycles in the aquarium.
[SPEAKER_00]: They recruit is a term here, which is a weird minestaurant, by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because of the fact that most everybody in the adaptus telepathica is not a cycle.
[SPEAKER_00]: and they have a bias toward psychors, and a lot of them hate psychors, and they're in charge of all the psychors.
[SPEAKER_00]: They keep them in the horrific nightmare levels of like the navigators for instance.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get that more.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the navigators and ask press are often kept in just awful.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like just like love crafting and torture.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the way if you're navigator or psych or like ask about dies and you've been back up.
[SPEAKER_03]: and see Eisenhorn, literally care.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, I was getting another one.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to let people know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they don't matter.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now again, if you're middle of traveling in the war, as we discussed with Slonash and all your navigators die, that's a bad day.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're also going to die, but actually a much worse death than they did.
[SPEAKER_03]: So, on to
[SPEAKER_03]: where we're, where we're going with this, which is, hey, what happened?
[SPEAKER_03]: What's up with all the cycle?
[SPEAKER_03]: So one thing to kind of, that want to make sure it's clear is, there are a hung of cycles being born every day in millions of worlds.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, maybe in the world.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's probably billions of these beings that are coming into existence.
[SPEAKER_03]: So how do you handle that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, a very simple two things.
[SPEAKER_03]: One, the black ships, which we get to in a second, and two, the imperial time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the imperial tide does not, isn't one thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go over this real quick.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because of the fact that the imperial tide does not mean that every planet gives two documents and a virtual of corn, you give something specific to the imperial based on what your planet produces.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sort of.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you do, but you also always give two things.
[SPEAKER_00]: True.
[SPEAKER_00]: You always give X amount of seconds.
[SPEAKER_03]: Psychers and soldiers.
[SPEAKER_03]: That was the two things.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as a. Psychers kind of just or soldiers kind of goes without.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, soldiers were kind of a given.
[SPEAKER_03]: Every imperial governor is in charge of monitoring psychors.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are they good at this?
[SPEAKER_03]: Not most of them are shit at it.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they use the Adepas Arbites whoever it is, and they kind of collect any and all psychors that are that exist.
[SPEAKER_03]: And every hundred years, ish, a fleet of ships will arrive in orbit.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what depends on the planet too, because some planets are known to produce psychors.
[SPEAKER_03]: They show them.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you're expected a visit every hundred years.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of the way to... And you're not super excited about this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is a terrifying visit because you're giving your type of soldiers, you're giving your resources.
[SPEAKER_03]: Those could be almost, I mean, daily, weekly, monthly, those going.
[SPEAKER_03]: But every like, hundred years or so, a bunch of all black ships will appear in orbit.
[SPEAKER_03]: They'll let you know you're coming.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they are here to collect your psychers.
[SPEAKER_03]: And you better have them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Because they came a long way on a really rough journey to get them.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they're going to come down to the planet and they're going to pick up all the psychers that you have gathered for them.
[SPEAKER_03]: And these black ships might be the most nightmareish thing in the Imperium for the actually almost everyone involved with them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: These things, ugh, they got us as I was right in the nose.
[SPEAKER_03]: I kept going, ugh.
[SPEAKER_03]: So Imperium Psychers, they're all so this incredible resource because as we discuss all they can do.
[SPEAKER_03]: navigation, communication, but also just being able to fight back against chaos.
[SPEAKER_03]: You need them to do all these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: However, they're also, it's almost like handling a live nuclear weapon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Such a big thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: You need it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great source of power.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great weapon.
[SPEAKER_03]: What's the, what's the chemical people take when you have heart issues that when we were kids, if you shook it with it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I haven't.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can go into my car and show you.
[SPEAKER_03]: So those of us who are older nitroglystery was this thing where it's like you it was this great like trope and sci-fi where it's like if it shook it would explode a lot of building up, but it also saves my life to people with heart conditions and they're totally fine.
[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a big deal in this because the source of power, it's a power, it is a weapon.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is, is that it's also hated because these psychers have done a bunch of terrible shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: But unfortunately, we've done so much more terrible shit back to them.
[SPEAKER_03]: like wow to add shit to them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but most of them aren't aware of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so that makes it okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying horrible acts of tear, you know, tear.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but they don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: We're about to get into some of the worst of them that we do.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the imperial kill cycles on site, unless
[SPEAKER_03]: They're part of the Imperium, which case they're pressed into service.
[SPEAKER_03]: The, I dept this astatelopathic as a job is to convert these, where I call wild psychers that are being picked up on the planets, into full psychers.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you dept this telepathic, it only does this in one place, and that's on terror.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a reason for that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Psychers are really dangerous.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you're going to, if you're going to bring a bunch of psychers to one place, you need to do it in the most controlled and protected environment possible.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't just have like fringe worlds going, I mean, told for the best.
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll do a Star Wars reference here.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like how many times does some Jedi try to try to teach a new pad to want?
[SPEAKER_03]: And like, I made a shift.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Why won't we learn that's effectively the story here?
[SPEAKER_00]: And also, I'm probably going to take him to where the custard's at.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's probably better to be like, hey, where are the custodians and the great nights closest?
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, yeah, that'll work.
[SPEAKER_03]: So one of the bigger problems though is with this is that Ms.
[SPEAKER_03]: Warby, these are called black ships.
[SPEAKER_03]: Psychers, as we've said, are not only sensed by the war, but they can actually be viewed through the war.
[SPEAKER_03]: Navigators can see, they get these beacon, a big beacon of psychology, the astronaut is a beacon of safety.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's also a lens into the material, the material plan.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to, we land on an imperial plan.
[SPEAKER_03]: We pick up thirty thousand psychers of varying age and power.
[SPEAKER_00]: You might as well have lit all of the flares.
[SPEAKER_00]: The beacons of Gondor have been lit.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we're going to put them on a ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: That ship holds more than that.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we have these ships, these black ships moving around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: Full of psych.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wait for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Moving through the warp.
[SPEAKER_03]: Moving to the warp, too.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, the better way of putting it.
[SPEAKER_00]: they can explode, they can explode with power, they can straight up explode and they can also be, they can explode into, hey, I'm now a door.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, or I'm a bloodthirsty.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or both to be honest with you.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not a great scenario.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's a lot of bad options.
[SPEAKER_00]: When you go into the dropdown menu, not a great amount of, I get a cookie.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so the Imperium, but it's surprise surprise, has a plan for this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's as always horrific.
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, oh, hey, we have a crew.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's really dangerous this ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: What should we do about it?
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_03]: Object violence and oppression.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[SPEAKER_03]: That should go.
[SPEAKER_00]: You mean standard Imperium tactics.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_03]: So in order to handle these things, the black ships are layered with multiple defenses against this.
[SPEAKER_03]: The first is the most common one, which is a Galler field.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about it again because we've had people talk about where we use a term, and we don't use it for eleven episodes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Come on, just you should be listening to all our episodes back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back
[SPEAKER_00]: But a yellow field is effectively force fields versus magic.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's force fields versus the immaterial.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a barrier between the physical universe and the immaterial.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it is the thing that effectively creates a bubble around a ship while it's traveling
[SPEAKER_00]: in the cemetery.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the war.
[SPEAKER_03]: When you're in the war, because you are now in the immaterial as we've learned during some service of horse heresy, the demon is going to just walk in.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like, I'm here now, this is about to get horrible.
[SPEAKER_03]: A Gellerfield prevents that.
[SPEAKER_03]: A Gellerfield also can prevent a demon from jumping into a being inside the ship who could, you know, a psych or could manifest in this.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Gellerfield prevents that transmission.
[SPEAKER_03]: The black ships, though, take this to a different level.
[SPEAKER_03]: So first off, their external gatherfield not only blocks this, but also they have it turned on the inside and blocks what we just discussed the light of all these cycles coming out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So these black ships actually appear as black.
[SPEAKER_03]: in the world.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're not black ships because they spray painted them black.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are black ships because they just appear as nothing.
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't know what they're there.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so they layer their gallery fields.
[SPEAKER_03]: First, the gallery field, the outside, obviously, to protect it at a higher level than anything else.
[SPEAKER_03]: But also individual gallery fields all throughout the ship isolating the cycles, isolating the crew, isolating everyone so that even if anything goes wrong, the whole ship doesn't go down to it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which is a big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then we'll talk about the first layer of many bad things that's happened to these psychors.
[SPEAKER_00]: These psychors all have a connection to the work and it's on twenty four seven and then you just got to cut off.
[SPEAKER_00]: So one, it feels like you now have lost the ability to see to hear.
[SPEAKER_00]: We, like, I'm part of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know how I'm in charge of the period, but the the imperial doesn't exactly give these guys a pamphlet that this is going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the first of several bad things that's about to happen to them.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they go into which it's actually great point because they've probably been hearing voices of the work there've been things.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's might just be static, but there's been noise and suddenly the static's over.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're in a ship and that's going to be unnerving.
[SPEAKER_03]: One important piece to this though that we need to dive into is, it's not just demons that are trying to get access to these things.
[SPEAKER_03]: The tyrannids are naturally hunting down psychic beacons.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Eldar, and we don't know what the Eldar would do if they found the black ships, but it might not be good, but they can also see these things pretty well.
[SPEAKER_03]: One of the bigger ones is chaos, primarily Abadan.
[SPEAKER_03]: He just wants these psychers.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he can destroy these.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's either, he's either, he destroys them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he knows that they're super important, but also it's a resource.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that's where this is a resource that you could either capture for yourself or destroy and impede the growth of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_03]: Both are things we saw through all of his crusades, not all of his crusades, but through a number of his crusades where things he was trying to do.
[SPEAKER_03]: But let's dive into how much worse this gets.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the other problem that you run into with a cycle is they can cast powers.
[SPEAKER_03]: So how do you stop someone from casting powers?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, let's just make it so that they can't focus on anything ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's the best way to do that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, amongst our weaponry.
[SPEAKER_00]: A diverse amongst our diverse elements of the Spanish acquisition is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're going to start phase one of the horrible things.
[SPEAKER_03]: They have counter-sikers who are throughout the ship and what these counter-sikers are doing is they're just constantly reaching into them.
[SPEAKER_03]: They seem to have an occluding sphere and the clue if you're reaching into the minds of all these prisoners and just
[SPEAKER_03]: basically makes it so that it interrupts their thoughts.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's the old inter-up in California.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a speaker on their head and turn it to eleven with metal.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not even that that's another thing that they do.
[SPEAKER_03]: The loud noise comes later.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're jumping.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're jumping.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is just a
[SPEAKER_03]: if you're a random person speaking to you real quickly and they're disappearing.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you can never even have a thought or a moment to yourself.
[SPEAKER_03]: This person is kind of interrupting you.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they never get any semblance of thought, understanding.
[SPEAKER_03]: Listen to what is Brad's genuine nightmare.
[SPEAKER_03]: These all the cells are almost pitch black, but not pitch black enough.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's that level of darkness where you can kind of see but can't.
[SPEAKER_03]: But randomly, all the lights flash, like a flashbang.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just not a timed thing, like when you have a broken light in the corner of the room.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, Mike Greenfield.
[SPEAKER_00]: Population.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's not necessarily designed for just drop them.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is again designed to interrupt thoughts.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're sitting there, you're in the darkness, your eyes can't focus, because it's not black enough that you give up.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's always enough light that you can kind of wanna see something.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then you focusing on, yeah, and then blam a light you're blinded for like four or five seconds and you're back into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just again, just never allow you to think.
[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, though, that's not enough for the senses.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we've done the inside of your brain.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've done your eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, let's also jack up your ears.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just, it's loud noise.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even just, it is noise.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just, but construction site.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just random piece of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a hot bang.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just great.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was ever lived next to a construction site that's working.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a rhythmic sound.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just,
[SPEAKER_03]: The worst part about this is that these journeys are months or years.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, if you got picked up first, you're, but also this is back about this for the second minute of every hour of every day.
[SPEAKER_00]: You also have no idea why you're going anywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: You were just told, Hey, man, you're going to Holy Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to maybe.
[SPEAKER_03]: or maybe it's just like, hey, we're sending you somewhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: But say you could pump people up.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going, you're going to meet the Emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to meet God.
[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then you walk in and go, this is the worst.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, some, it's everything.
[SPEAKER_03]: Mostly, these are going to be quite young, by the way, because any psycho who's older has been executed.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the, no one's doing this.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is children.
[SPEAKER_03]: Most of the children.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's a lot of this, like much like Brad's sacrificing of children, the orcs through screen.
[SPEAKER_03]: With the, with the scalper means, again, I didn't know the scalper means where children don't have research.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, at least teenagers.
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are all very, very young individuals who are, and they live this nightmare forever.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it needed to have to feel it forever, because you have no concept of time.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is because again, every second of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But forgot to mention that most of these, it's not even some, most of these people are broken.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are completely insane by that time they get to tear.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're just, they're just, they're, they're hosts of people.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the other piece of this, the black ships, though, are incredibly crucial.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so the crews of the ships are also really important, are also very different.
[SPEAKER_03]: So first off, you know, the bridge and navigation are full of psychers.
[SPEAKER_03]: They have to be.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, your astronauts have to be there.
[SPEAKER_03]: They actually sit on a very unique version of Gellerfield, because, again, these guys have to be able to see out of the ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they actually have a Gellerfield underneath them on the bridge that protects them just their own gulfed from them from the crew, because imagine if a crew could focus for a second
[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to, their mind's going to try and reach to the closest psycher, which would be a naster path or a navigator.
[SPEAKER_03]: And boom, now you've got a chain reaction out.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they actually sit on top of this thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: And this crew, as we talked about, we've listened to our last episode, where it's lunch team that comes to reaching the ester paths and the danger is they could kind of, you know, they exploded into a demon and slaughtered the crew.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, in a post on this, one of the reasons it's so, why,
[SPEAKER_00]: They what they do is puts them at super risk while this is the Imperium's version of we're going to get we're going to make it safe.
[SPEAKER_00]: This also makes it so it's super dangerous because a cycle is at his most powerful when he's at his most
[SPEAKER_03]: desperate as most emotional as most he will that's when he will make the deal right exactly so these crew right when I want to talk to is it this crew these astronauts and these navigators there is military personnel on the on the deck with them in a lot of them because the the true the thing is is as we said before
[SPEAKER_03]: If one of the navigators or one of the Astropaths does decide to burst into being a demon suddenly, you need to kill that demon before the other Astropaths die because you don't want to be on a black ship, wandering aimlessly in the void.
[SPEAKER_03]: That is probably the worst scenario.
[SPEAKER_00]: there's layers of people that are supposed to kill the other guys too.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's there's a line up of people with guns with guns pointed at another guy's head.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's everything set for just this is going.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the thing about black ships, though, is there actually not much more than to giant freighter?
[SPEAKER_03]: It's funny, it was the right one, the left thing about the movie Alien, where it's just a giant airplane.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, like, twelve people on it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there is just another, it's a pretty skeleton crew outside of that monitor, because all of the technologies built to just keep these people in their pens.
[SPEAKER_03]: But you do every now and then half thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not like the stuff that kind of polished the decks do all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there is a crew that's wandering around, you know, you have some, yeah, you have your chefs, you're gonna have your maintenance personally, you're gonna have all these guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are all specially recruited because they're all blanks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was just saying you're just grabbing all of the blanks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's, by the way, there's just not that many blanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, blanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's a lot more psychos than blanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: A hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_03]: So in a blank for those of you who aren't aware, a blank is someone who's, who doesn't,
[SPEAKER_03]: How do we say, how does this?
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just unconnected the works.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they don't exist within the warp effectively.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's also levels to blanks because they're immune to psychic corruption, they're immune to psychic.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're trying to manipulate them, you could use psychic powers as I could just take a piece of rock and launch it at your face.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a blank has the work that doesn't affect them is the best way to look at it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so what makes them great, obviously, is that this has a few different effects.
[SPEAKER_03]: One, it means that a psych or can't manipulate.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they can't overpower their mind.
[SPEAKER_03]: You couldn't come in and say, hey, open this cell door.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just won't do it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like we've all seen Star Wars.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we just met one.
[SPEAKER_03]: The other thing to do though is that they're all so can't be viewed.
[SPEAKER_03]: So a lot of really powerful psychic entities don't actually view through their eyes.
[SPEAKER_03]: They view through the warp.
[SPEAKER_03]: They see things that way.
[SPEAKER_03]: They don't see blanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're actually not aware of their presence.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a whole system that you don't even have to see at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: But we're about to get into how beneficial this is.
[SPEAKER_03]: So having a crew that's able to do this, that means if you have a psych or sitting in a cell under this level of torture,
[SPEAKER_03]: they won't actually know that the guy mopping the floor who they could use to manifest their way out because they're in a blank can't they don't know they're there and even if they didn't know that they were there they couldn't reach into their mind to use them.
[SPEAKER_03]: This also, you know, one little thing about them too, they also can somewhat resist.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not just the maintenance crew, but even a lot of soldiers that are there will be blanks because they also can resist some psychic powers.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that immune to like, this is pretty crazy though, because this is like some of the eighties action movies where the random janitors, the baddest dude around.
[SPEAKER_00]: because the janitors are kind of the baddestude's wrong because these dudes have all went through intensive training.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're all combat trained.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're kind of trained, but they're they're combat trained.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're cast resistant trained.
[SPEAKER_03]: I really don't want to make this reference, but it's the only one I can make.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to understand each of this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you're on the same boat there, both like, uh, this is Stephen's to go and under siege.
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's even though it sucks so much now.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's it's a big thing because this is the craziest thing because
[SPEAKER_00]: random guys are bad asses.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, chips.
[SPEAKER_03]: If if a psych or were to escape their pen, you wouldn't like that the guy can mopping the floor outside.
[SPEAKER_03]: Who would you?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's nothing to show back it is going to take them down throwing back in the pen, shut the door and go back to mopping.
[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe not even start sweating.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like these guys are cool as hell.
[SPEAKER_03]: The other key one that's there, though, is the Adeptis Telepathica are all over the ship.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what they're doing is they're wandering the ship, marking down all of the prisoners.
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's their level of basically seeing with all the torture that they're doing to them, how well are they resisting the torture?
[SPEAKER_03]: Because that's a good gauge of their level of psychic powers.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also, to be honest, honest.
[SPEAKER_00]: While these methods are just nightmare level, they do get to see how these people would deal with the ruinous powers trying to manipulate them, trying to assault them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because the ruinous powers don't just throw lightning bolts at you, they try to tear your mind apart.
[SPEAKER_03]: Not of the stuff that they're doing to these psychers is just because they're evil and enjoy torture.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is just, they're just
[SPEAKER_03]: That it's thinking of clever ideas that don't involve torture.
[SPEAKER_00]: Except for the fact of ninety percent of this ship becomes people that are bleeding out of their eyeballs and drooling.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then they have ten percent left.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a lot of people that'll all work out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, you get this and they start basically going, that guy would be good for this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, prisoner, prisoner one seven seven eight.
[SPEAKER_03]: Great, there's bits of great.
[SPEAKER_03]: Be is giving a great, be a great, be a great, be a great, be a great, be a great, and this will help, because once they get back to Earth, they're gonna get kind of shuffled out of this thing and move into different areas.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the ship is actually,
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a victory.
[SPEAKER_03]: I read this three times, so maybe I could still be wrong, but I'm eighty-five percent on read this.
[SPEAKER_03]: The black ships are actually run by the inquisition.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's actually, that is who oversees that that is, that is their primary, the people with the most power around the ship, the people who are in charge of are actually inquisitions.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's the end all, because there could only be a few agents of the inquisition that are around.
[SPEAKER_00]: That this is the reason I said that there's a guy with a gun holding a gun to the guy with a gun.
[SPEAKER_03]: the last guy is the inquisition he's supposed to kill everyone and the reason this and it's actually does make sense because if you think about the debtor's telepathica even though his brother didn't like sikers their job is delivered sikers to town
[SPEAKER_03]: They may view something as not as significant as the English, the Inquisition, because the, the English who's there are the most extreme members of the order of Malias, they see anything.
[SPEAKER_03]: They don't like that prisoners getting ejected into space.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, they're going to shoot them twice and also, and then shoot a bomb at them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just in case.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they are because these ships represent one of the greatest resources of the Imperium, but also one of the greatest threats.
[SPEAKER_03]: We've probably, you know, hitting this to many times, but if for whatever reason, a black ship were to turn decay us.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's bad news, Mary.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a death ship, oven, redouble power.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the inquisition is there to make sure that that doesn't happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: And also, it can easily be corrupted because, oh, yeah, you've been torturing these people for sometimes a year or two.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're not.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're pretty not big.
[SPEAKER_00]: No one's got the foam finger that says Imperium's number one at this point in time.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, pose, this is kind of a cool one because I'd like to know this.
[SPEAKER_03]: Post, thirteenth block crusade with bad news, split the sky.
[SPEAKER_03]: The black ships travel patterns have changed a lot.
[SPEAKER_03]: It used to be, they could actually put enough blanks on them.
[SPEAKER_03]: They could move in the silence throughout the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they was a void the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now that it's a rift of Voltron left across the middle of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: The black ships use to actually move kind of almost quietly throughout the galaxy, collecting and moving.
[SPEAKER_03]: because chaos now has so much more access and also the tyrannids are so much more heavily there.
[SPEAKER_03]: They've turned up the black ships.
[SPEAKER_03]: They actually move a lot quicker, which makes them more visible.
[SPEAKER_03]: In order to do that, they had to arm them better.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they've armed them with what is the greatest anti-cycur... This is the silence.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the silence.
[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even realize this existed and disappeared for ten thousand years.
[SPEAKER_03]: Within the war,
[SPEAKER_03]: The sisters of silence are, and there's not a lot of detail on them yet.
[SPEAKER_03]: I do have the custodians book in my other room.
[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't read it yet.
[SPEAKER_03]: Apparently there's a key piece of it.
[SPEAKER_03]: The sisters of silence, they're all blanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: They fight at a similar level to a custod.
[SPEAKER_00]: They also have different focuses of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: and they also have levels of, they can make, they're not just blanks, they emanate blanks.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they can suck psychic energy out.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are great because if you think about why they're there, what is the, there's not really, they could handle an external threat.
[SPEAKER_03]: But if,
[SPEAKER_03]: The black ships are under attack by say a chaos is fleet.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can call an imperial navy and they'll be there pretty quick.
[SPEAKER_03]: These guys, the way that they're moving to the galaxy, they don't move with a retune of support vehicles, but they're always on a path that
[SPEAKER_03]: they appear on the babies aware of, so they can get there almost instantly.
[SPEAKER_03]: The bigger danger is an attack from within, something jumps in, and why it works better than that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, even demon, as we said, they tend to see through the warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: The sisters, the silence can bounce demons.
[SPEAKER_03]: They can bounce even, or the demon can't see a sister of silence a lot of time.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you're jumping.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they can, the sisters, the silence by themselves and the stories sometimes stop demonic incursions because they stop the
[SPEAKER_00]: the opening of basically, they plug the damn.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just want, because they're emitting such blanks, the weird way to say it, the emitting level of null, a bit of null field.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're emitting a null field.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's walk near whatever this gateway is, and the gateway can't hold for many more collapses.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's crazy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sisters of the silence are whackily power.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've been talking about things that don't translate into the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're listening.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, they're better now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, because now I'll, but I'm saying they were, but man, they are in stories in in in in the lore, which we're doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, look, cast in the lore.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are wildly useful and so power.
[SPEAKER_03]: I, but this, that has something to do with this cast, but I think that characters like that is the same with rogue traders as one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Caro, I think it's because they're not interesting as like a battalion.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's the as an individual.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: One sister can do so much cool stuff that it's like couldn't can one sister fight off to want he orcs.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, so in the table top it's a thousand really.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's true.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're like, you've got all these mystical abilities.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, yeah, five dudes just beat you up.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, or like an elder to sorry, but I got a bright lance in that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: And she doesn't exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: But if you're talking about something like where you're doing like a blackstone fortress type, you're more of an RPG setting, they're amazing because they bring their mustache.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they bring his incredible, you know, sense of powers.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's why they're on these ships because you don't need a lot of them.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have just enough and it makes it so that if you try to infiltrate the ship,
[SPEAKER_03]: You've got this incredible warrior moving throughout it.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's probably built to fight you specifically.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's the sisters.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eventually these black ships do get back to terror with a gigantic ship of no crazy people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just crazy wrecked people.
[SPEAKER_03]: And as we said, that this telepathica has been
[SPEAKER_03]: giving everyone grades, marking it all down.
[SPEAKER_03]: So what they're going to do is they're going to offload the ship and they're just going to send you off into whatever area they think you belong.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you are the people that are still cognizant of thought.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Get sorted out now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, unfortunately, the people that are still with it.
[SPEAKER_00]: are pretty easily manipulated because you can say, would you like that not to happen again?
[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, yeah, whatever you say out, I have to do, I'm going to do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't put me in another dark cell where I get tortured, you know, all day, twenty four, seven, four a year or two, that seems better.
[SPEAKER_03]: That seems better than where we were.
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to, they're going to take them to send them off and they're going to go either if they're kind of they fit the
[SPEAKER_03]: My guess is for that my they'll explain this clearly, but my assumption is to become a space marine librarian.
[SPEAKER_03]: My guess is you also probably had some markings down from the Imperial Governor like, oh, by the way, this kid can fight.
[SPEAKER_03]: So space marine librarian.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're not that and you're really intelligent, but you really have it all together, the inquisition will probably take you then.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can go to your cooking session.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can go primary siker, which is the guard used them as everything from shields to bombs effectively.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mark down navigators here, although Navier is mostly or coming from Taras, I'm not a hundred percent on this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the ships do grab navigators, but they kind of grab them as part of what they grabbed as they told the net.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's just that it's been navigators because it's a genetic and I don't know how many they're bringing in, but they're all those who just, it's the one is aware of, which is the the grain.
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, so as we talked about the space marine librarians, the ones who come out of this, they're just like,
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the dude comes out and he's literally sitting is he's floating above his his caught staring at you pissed off.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, hey, by the way, the I like the muffins.
[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't a big fan of the bacon.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just like this was nothing.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're probably going to mark Lou King is the guy there.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that guy's going.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you're going over to to meet the the great nights.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
[SPEAKER_03]: What is that creature?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please get away from us.
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't all want to die, but most of these guys did be perfect to be fat.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be honest, these guys are getting rubber stamped and strepathlete.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going on in style.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's all after about.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or, or you get the honor.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you get the other one.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the ones who really did struggle through this get to go somewhere else.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, also, all the crazy people do get plugged into this too.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, that's something a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you, if you got broken and you're just a drooling person, well, you get the, hey, was the last year or two too much for your mind to handle, well, we've got another prize for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_03]: So the first thing that we're going to do now, we're going to talk.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what's called soul binding in a second here.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now,
[SPEAKER_03]: As we were saying before, if you come out of this thing and you show like it was nothing, you're a great night.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're doing pretty well, you're going to go space marine, librarian, or you're going to go inquisition.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're not one of them and this does include primaric psychers and you're going to go, you're going to now be put into this because they have all those three have their own training regimes that they do.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they'll teach you how to use your powers.
[SPEAKER_03]: The Imperium has a cheat code for making it so their sikers don't explode in the demons.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and it's holds sole binding.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, but it's also, it's not really a sole bind.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the, the Emperor's will is bonkersville better than yours is.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to make a movie reference now.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to tell you, if you don't know this reference, go fix it.
[SPEAKER_03]: So in the princess bride.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wesley is strapped down to a machine and that's going to suck his life force out and they can go any of her one to a ten.
[SPEAKER_03]: Soul binding works this similar way.
[SPEAKER_03]: What a soul binding is is we are is they strap you into a machine.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they force a portion of the emperor's psyche into your into you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And what this does is it purges your soul with any chaos corruption.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's not like a rules.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's an inferior.
[SPEAKER_03]: It also makes you more aligned with the empiric.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you meant to say, Malia ball.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: because the upper, a tiny portion of the upper because he's so wildly powerful.
[SPEAKER_00]: Emperors your will.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the emperor used.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the same force emperor used to make Horace no longer exist.
[SPEAKER_00]: He puts a drop of that and it accidentally almost shatters your mind.
[SPEAKER_00]: It definitely shatters your will.
[SPEAKER_03]: And the reason I made the Princess bride reference is depending on what your task is going to be for the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's her and this machine operative.
[SPEAKER_00]: True.
[SPEAKER_00]: You get to either a drop or you get several drops.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to be a primary cycle.
[SPEAKER_03]: You get a legal probably a one to three somewhere in that realm.
[SPEAKER_03]: if you're going to be an astronaut you're more like the three to seven because they are.
[SPEAKER_03]: It does somewhat lobotomize you to you be and they don't care.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, not at all this.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing that we go back to the estrapath though.
[SPEAKER_00]: The estrapath this is another reason why there's so unbelievably insane terrible to the estrapath.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't care at this point in time.
[SPEAKER_00]: The primary psychor has to be.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he has to be able to do shit.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: A Esther path, if you broke this duties and say that they're told to say that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: If this dude's just sitting, shitting his pants like laying there, you're like, it seems like a great extra path.
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, a lot of the Esther paths are physically broken by this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Think about half the Esther path that they've used with Eisenhower and he has those guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: tied up in the basement, basically.
[SPEAKER_03]: They don't move at all.
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're a master path model, they look horrified.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just broken, like most of the time, they just have jammed and shame.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they have massively, physically augmented because usually this price and the reason why is this sole binding.
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you want to win, that's the best looks the way it does.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's because the sole binding process when shoved through them, but even primary secret is you have some level cyber augmentation.
[SPEAKER_03]: It will turn off some of your organs.
[SPEAKER_03]: It will, it will, it will,
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also because of the fact when they're putting part of the emperors juice into you, it's like if I said, hey man, can I have an aspirin?
[SPEAKER_00]: Some are between one and one hundred million milligrams.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't know how much they're giving.
[SPEAKER_03]: They say, how can I have an aspirin?
[SPEAKER_03]: Like know how about we hit you with a taser.
[SPEAKER_00]: What kind of taser you're like, I'm going to go to the transit one that makes all the taking noises.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to do the battery dies.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what happens.
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, they effectively die to a point from this, but are perched.
[SPEAKER_03]: to defend the Imperium in this one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Remember, an astropatheter turns the chaos super bad.
[SPEAKER_03]: So they have to, it just worked.
[SPEAKER_03]: It just is awful.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: Now there is one more level to the soul bind, which is a seven to ten.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is bringing us full circle back to the astronomica.
[SPEAKER_03]: As we said before, we have to have bodies in the astronomical.
[SPEAKER_03]: And depending on how you read, get a power at the emperor.
[SPEAKER_03]: How you read the lore, these people are all willing, they write it as they're all willing servants who were excited to be part of this project for the emperor.
[SPEAKER_03]: However, they've all been through the most extreme version of soul binding, so I'm kind of concerned about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: They already broke them on the black show.
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like this definition of consent is pretty loose is what I'm getting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when I have a guy that's drooling, we give it me the fouls and mild stare.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, he seems super willing.
[SPEAKER_03]: Russian KGB, like, what's it called?
[SPEAKER_03]: Confessions are probably more realistic in some of these, like I cannot wait to go into this room.
[SPEAKER_03]: These are the people that are strapped into the astronaut economy.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is such a bad way to go.
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's go through where the emperor is.
[SPEAKER_03]: Emperor is now dying his when horse kick him with all the powers of chaos.
[SPEAKER_03]: It took a chunk of the Emperor's soul.
[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't just take a soul.
[SPEAKER_00]: It shattered the Emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor's soul didn't get destroyed.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor's soul got broken.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, he is, the Emperor was multitasking before.
[SPEAKER_00]: Holy shit, the Emperor's multitasking now because there's a, effectively, there's a bunch of Emperor's.
[SPEAKER_03]: They shoved him into the golden throne, sealed it.
[SPEAKER_03]: He had his last words, which were misinterpreted.
[SPEAKER_03]: And now the emperor inside the golden throne, his shattered psyche is power and astronomical.
[SPEAKER_03]: Keeping, well, I'm going to start saying the web wiggie, it's in quotes here.
[SPEAKER_03]: It actually was never a web wiggie.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a game to the amateur.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's sitting in the bottom of
[SPEAKER_00]: That's okay, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to get in the, he's got to open gate the imperium in the basement.
[SPEAKER_03]: He's all for shielding terror from chaos and curations.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's fighting active battles with chaos.
[SPEAKER_03]: God's and he and he's sitting goes, he's sitting in between the material and the material.
[SPEAKER_03]: He had, yeah, he's getting attacked by a nonstop.
[SPEAKER_03]: Everything from a gnarling through.
[SPEAKER_03]: Nargal.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, are trying to mess with him.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is a bit of a drain.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you, for I'm also powering the astromanica.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: So he needs a little bit of what he could use is the Master Energy Drinks here and there, or a thousand souls a day.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's ten thousand cycles are strapped into this machine, where in the center of it is a giant ball that is just sucking their life force and the energy out of them, and then transmitting the energy into the astronomical.
[SPEAKER_03]: But just chooses the golden throne.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because it's not the astromanica, because the upper is totally powering up.
[SPEAKER_03]: The astromanica is taken to the golden throne.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's going into the astromanica.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just not sure if it's going in for those of them, or I go down to say that this is now what's powering up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hundred percent also true.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting powered up because he's basically being worshiped.
[SPEAKER_00]: As a guy, which is powering in its powering into the warp, which is just.
[SPEAKER_03]: But to Brad's point, the astronomicalon has ten thousand of these cycles strapped into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: Every day, a thousand of them die.
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why I say the average about ten days.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they die.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they die.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not just the like, oh, Adam, we're gonna fall over.
[SPEAKER_03]: They just, they're withering husks at you.
[SPEAKER_00]: They just suck everything off.
[SPEAKER_03]: Just tell a path because moves quick.
[SPEAKER_03]: One guy runs in grabs it on hooks that the dead corpse, which I'm assuming looks like a dehydrated mummy, pulls them out, and then shoves the next one in.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_03]: And they, because it's fine, they write this, and again, maybe I'm wrong here and you work for GW.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tell me where I'm wrong here.
[SPEAKER_03]: But they write it like they're worshipping.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't believe that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're
[SPEAKER_00]: You can remember with them doing this quickly, there's a shit ton of sikers watching the worst way to die ever and going, wow, that's what I'm screwed up to be.
[SPEAKER_03]: Are there no action to, I like that more, there's another room.
[SPEAKER_03]: And just to just the room.
[SPEAKER_00]: The appearing is such gifts that I just assume they're just like watching it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like why bother having them in another room, that would take longer.
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is the true reason for the black ships.
[SPEAKER_03]: When we discuss with the black ships, too, it's these guys.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you could probably recruit astronauts from being honest.
[SPEAKER_03]: You could lie to them and get them.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the one, I think, this is why we have black ships, this because we need to actually go much deeper into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You need black ships, as far as you can get through all your sanctioning of cycles on Terra, but the reason for the tie, then all this stuff,
[SPEAKER_03]: is where at this point.
[SPEAKER_03]: So let's just do some quick math here.
[SPEAKER_03]: So there are three, so the thousand cycles a day died of this thing.
[SPEAKER_03]: There are three hundred and sixty five days in a year and we are at year eleven thousand of this.
[SPEAKER_03]: So it is four billion cycles to date have died in the astronomical.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that doesn't count.
[SPEAKER_00]: All of the people who are billion fifteen million in case any of you did the math yourselves four billion fifteen million you got to remember that's the people that made it the suck fest that is a black ship a lot of people died the act of nama con has itself consumed my bad billion so yes the black ship has crused in that many but also
[SPEAKER_00]: Not a lot of people make this journey, especially if you were, you were the first stop.
[SPEAKER_03]: Probably.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the number of dead psychers from this is impossible.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is why psychers turn to castle.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's actually the more it means cast like, yeah, you know, I actually, I get it.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, you're like, the alert of one of the gods seems to give him.
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's a vision of your future.
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, fair enough.
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you want to see?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I'm cool.
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm a big z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z
[SPEAKER_00]: which is why the Imperiums and Nightmare.
[SPEAKER_03]: So with that kind of, which conclude from there, I think that's a good enough coverage of this for people and more questions.
[SPEAKER_03]: Ask us in Discourse.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is by far the darkest cast we've ever done.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just thinking as we're going, I'm like, wow, everything we said was awful.
[SPEAKER_03]: So next week, I joined us for the Adaptive Seal Clubbing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Really, which would still be happier than this one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's actually, by the way, I broke that as a joke.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, the debt is still coming.
[SPEAKER_03]: The debt is puppy kicking, and it's like, yeah, actually, they might have those.
[SPEAKER_03]: So actually next week, we're going to talk about one of the probably most significant downsides of all these psychers, a certain invasion that has begun of the period.
[SPEAKER_03]: You can have to call the exterminators in, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: This is going to be a multi part where I'm trying to tell the story a little bit differently than we've done others.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's in the past.
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, we're going to give you the lore of Tyrannids.
[SPEAKER_03]: But we want to kind of talk more from a timeline standpoint.
[SPEAKER_03]: Tyrannids are the greatest threat to the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we want to kind of spend some time talking about their main threat.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're a main push right now to the current timeline of the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are the primary antagonist.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I also think tyrannids and I can be correct with here, but I believe they're the only race in the galaxy that every other race is concerned with.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: It is because including chaos chaos is also very good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but I'm not super excited.
[SPEAKER_00]: The tyrannids are going because he was doing pretty goddamn well.
[SPEAKER_03]: And tyrannids also can disrupt his plans.
[SPEAKER_03]: The chaos gods themselves don't make the they get nothing out of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they keep killing their their people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously the neck runs, towel whatever.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they would eat a towel and then they'd make a tear in a towel, which would be not that scary.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're eventually gonna be on the way.
[SPEAKER_03]: I actually had to write this on discord and I'll say it again here.
[SPEAKER_03]: I actually don't hate how I just the jokes started and I've kind of been running with it.
[SPEAKER_03]: You're just gonna meet all the tile players and it's actually I have no issue with them.
[SPEAKER_03]: I just enjoyed the jokes, but anyway with that this has been John Barsati and Brad Jester.
[SPEAKER_03]: This can.
[SPEAKER_03]: See you guys next week.
