We <v Speaker 1>got the uh Master of Ceremonies, the Master of parties, <v Speaker 1>Dan Reikert. <v Speaker 2>That's me. Hello, I love to party. <v Speaker 1>That's right. He also loves the party. He's the first <v Speaker 1>one there and also the first one to leave. Jeff Beckler, <v Speaker 1>that's right. <v Speaker 3>Speaking of Saint Patty's Day, I am the King of <v Speaker 3>the Irish Exit. Listen, I want to thank everyone preemptively <v Speaker 3>for wishing me a happy Saint Patti's Day. With the <v Speaker 3>assumption that I am Irish. I've been a mistakenly assumed <v Speaker 3>to be Irish for about thirty five years. <v Speaker 2>Now. <v Speaker 3>I will never be able to put this rumor to death. <v Speaker 3>I am an honorary Irish person, as John Ipatch will <v Speaker 3>have christened me this morning. <v Speaker 2>So thank you and so yeah Irish stuff. You congrat <v Speaker 2>right enough to be Irish? <v Speaker 3>Thank you, congrat I had a sunburn and that's all <v Speaker 3>I needed. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, actually today my last name is jan Oh what <v Speaker 1>is that apostrophe? We got the bad boy of media, <v Speaker 1>Mike Minati. <v Speaker 4>I think I'm done with Wings. <v Speaker 2>For a while. Oh what happened Wings? Yeah? <v Speaker 4>The show, Yeah, the band and the show. Never me <v Speaker 4>and the show were tight. Well, you know, Jeff Cambell <v Speaker 4>for the Lego party party my brothers. I'll get some <v Speaker 4>food for them, and I was like, yeah, I always <v Speaker 4>do pizza and Jeff doesn't even like cheese that much <v Speaker 4>right now or it makes them sick. I was like, <v Speaker 4>all right, I get so I'll get some wings instead. <v Speaker 4>That'll be that'll be fun. I got okay, so two <v Speaker 4>buckets of wings, right, yes, I'm gonna do this. I've <v Speaker 4>got a complaint about the price. Two buckets of wings. <v Speaker 4>Well bucket is twenty wings. <v Speaker 2>I was like to it. <v Speaker 1>I've not done introducing everyone on the show yet. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I want to hear it introduced. <v Speaker 4>I've been introduced. <v Speaker 2>No, I forgot. We have a special sixth share today. <v Speaker 1>He is the sword Saint of games media. We have <v Speaker 1>the Talking Flower from Super Mario Brothers. <v Speaker 2>That's right alive in the studio. I have the Talking <v Speaker 2>Flower sitting next to me. It is miked up. So look, <v Speaker 2>he can be kind of rude. Uh. He is during <v Speaker 2>his waking hours right now, which is seven am to <v Speaker 2>ten pm, which he can just say whatever during that time. <v Speaker 2>So Sean, we might have to cut some stuff later. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, he's like the Raphael of the podcast, like the Turtles, <v Speaker 1>you know. <v Speaker 2>That's yeah, there's no control over when he says stuff <v Speaker 2>what he says. <v Speaker 5>He does look like he's interested in how much the <v Speaker 5>buckets cost, though, Mike, So you want to keep. <v Speaker 2>Go ahead? <v Speaker 4>Two buckets, which again, like let's get excited. Where did <v Speaker 4>we get the where did we get the chicken? Quicker steak? <v Speaker 4>And loub kind of a little more localis Chaine here <v Speaker 4>here's the last word loo loob gas stations trying. <v Speaker 2>It's like a ail change service. <v Speaker 3>The last word sounds it sounds like a change your <v Speaker 3>fucking oil. <v Speaker 4>That's interesting because boy, that just existed here since I <v Speaker 4>was born, so like, I've never thought it was weird <v Speaker 4>until just it's weird that the word lube is in <v Speaker 4>the chicken name. Two buckets, would you got twenty wings <v Speaker 4>each and some presol chicken and they waved It was Grandpa, <v Speaker 4>but they waved the feast because I had to spend <v Speaker 4>so freaking much, not including the tip eighty five dollars. <v Speaker 2>Okay, well, here's wait, here's my hot take on that. Mic. <v Speaker 2>And I've always been this way despite loving wings, I <v Speaker 2>don't think wings are a delivery food. And I know <v Speaker 2>pizza places have been doing this for a while now. <v Speaker 2>I've never wanted I think I did it once or twice. <v Speaker 2>It was like, these don't travel well, y are not delivered. <v Speaker 2>I eat wings at the place that makes the wings. <v Speaker 3>Only you gotta you gotta prep like an oven for receiving, <v Speaker 3>like I almost I almost get kids, like I take <v Speaker 3>them and put them right in the It depends on. <v Speaker 5>The quality of the wing, like, yeah, you probably got bad, <v Speaker 5>low quality and traveled wings dand and that's gonna hurt it. <v Speaker 2>You also need four hundred fucking napkins every time you eat, <v Speaker 2>and so you're just sometimes you're a dry guy, and <v Speaker 2>you know, I like to save my napskin. Sash I <v Speaker 2>was a look. <v Speaker 4>I got an extra crispy to make sure, like the <v Speaker 4>Soggi factor wasn't I always get an extra crispy because <v Speaker 4>so many wing places through the bare minimum cook times <v Speaker 4>you have that flabby skin and it sucks. <v Speaker 2>Like the wings tasted good. They tasted good. <v Speaker 4>I'll give them that, but they're too expensive. And as <v Speaker 4>soon as everyone left, I did not feel great. I <v Speaker 4>don't know what it is I. <v Speaker 2>Feel, you mean, like sicky poo. <v Speaker 4>I feel a little SICKI poo. <v Speaker 2>Well, Mike, I don't want to pry into you. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>on the drip home a little bit like, aren't aren't <v Speaker 2>you don't? Aren't you very susceptible to That's what? Yes? <v Speaker 4>And I was thinking this just now, like I have <v Speaker 4>stomach issues quite often for sure, right, this is not <v Speaker 4>a crone's thing. I know the difference. It's not like <v Speaker 4>a pain or an ache. It's a nausea and I <v Speaker 4>don't really have a nausea. It's normally a pain, an ache, <v Speaker 4>a cramp. This is a dull nausea. <v Speaker 5>I mean, the price of everything's gonna be going down soon, <v Speaker 5>so you don't have worry about this anymore. <v Speaker 2>Mike, Yeah, it's good. Is it bad that? <v Speaker 1>Like me living in the Bay Area, I heard like, oh, <v Speaker 1>it's eighty five bucks for two bucks of wings. <v Speaker 2>That's not bad. <v Speaker 4>See, I don't I don't want to be compared to <v Speaker 4>your San Francisco prices, right, That's that's my thought there. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, how many how many wings per bucket? Twenty? Just <v Speaker 2>twenty A lot of time, so and each bucket was <v Speaker 2>how much? <v Speaker 4>I think each bucket was thirty five dollars? And then <v Speaker 4>like they got me on the pretzels too. It's just <v Speaker 4>like some pretzel sticks. Oh well, you didn't mention that <v Speaker 4>you got pretzel sticks. I did, you just he did pretzels? <v Speaker 4>What's again? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? Right, I listen to what could a pretzel call? Right? Exactly? Yeah? Beer? <v Speaker 1>Give them beer cheese. But yeah, now is this tasted good? <v Speaker 1>I'm not at the place that the charges extra for dips. <v Speaker 4>And I know the sauce was included with the pretze's <v Speaker 4>because they're like, pick your sauce, and I was like, oh, <v Speaker 4>I'll take the beer. <v Speaker 2>Cheese. Obviously, it was a mandatory field. <v Speaker 4>I had to fill out on that thing. So like <v Speaker 4>a mandatory field, Yeah, we will not let you get <v Speaker 4>these pretzels until you have picked a sauce. <v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, last time I felt nauseous eating was that? <v Speaker 2>Excuse me? That nine dollar burrito I found in Chinatown <v Speaker 2>in SF. <v Speaker 5>I was like, uh, well, my god, I got to <v Speaker 5>see what a nine dollars burrito in San Francisco tastes like. <v Speaker 5>It tastes like Taco Bell. It tasted exactly like Taco Bell. <v Speaker 1>I have no idea what place you would even be <v Speaker 1>talking about getting a burrito from China. <v Speaker 2>So I got a picture of it. <v Speaker 5>I'll send it to you can go do some research <v Speaker 5>and see if it's even still open by the time <v Speaker 5>you get there. <v Speaker 2>That's cheap, right for San Francisco. Yeah, that's cheap. That's cheap, <v Speaker 2>like here for a burrito now, Like yeah, So it <v Speaker 2>was like that, what is this thing you guys have <v Speaker 2>Cadoba in Ohio? Yeah? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, the way when I've ever been to was in Cleveland. <v Speaker 2>I think it closed. There's not a ton of them, <v Speaker 2>not a I'm. <v Speaker 3>Gonna kick out, just like if Taco Bell graduated high school. <v Speaker 3>It's not that impressive. I just it's like, come on, yeah, <v Speaker 3>come on, is. <v Speaker 2>Like a Chotle. It's like a Chipotle, right, It's very <v Speaker 2>like liquid. <v Speaker 4>That was their big differentiator was that they had like <v Speaker 4>good caso. I'm a hot heead guy though you know <v Speaker 4>you know this. <v Speaker 2>Ohio, that's Ohio. I'm not going to get you know what. <v Speaker 2>We're not going to get sick from eating lobster rolls. <v Speaker 1>Baby goddamn right, that's right. <v Speaker 4>A large opportunity to get sick from lobster thinking. It <v Speaker 4>was both making me feel terrible and good at the <v Speaker 4>same time. <v Speaker 1>No I was standing by the hoop, I felt Jeff <v Speaker 1>Becklar running towards it for the ally you because that's right, boys, <v Speaker 1>we are headed to packs East yet again. This year <v Speaker 1>we have three panels. Two will be on the show <v Speaker 1>floor where we will be playing Who Wants to Be <v Speaker 1>a Millionaire? You the folks uh in attendance. We got <v Speaker 1>some giveaways to give out. Merchmaster Mikey got some things <v Speaker 1>cooking up in the pipes to give to y'all. He'll <v Speaker 1>can win things. Maybe we'll play the Irish edition. Who knows, <v Speaker 1>We don't if you're Irish. You have to be Irish <v Speaker 1>and you have to show a passport. <v Speaker 2>Okay, we'll stamp it. We'll stamp it, we promise. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>can we do that? Is that? Okay? I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I doubt it. Probably not gonna stop, but I doubt <v Speaker 2>that's true. <v Speaker 1>Okay, all right, and then well our third panel we <v Speaker 1>will have. That's right, Big Papa is coming back to <v Speaker 1>town because we have Vinny Caravella joining us for the <v Speaker 1>panel as well. As you know, we got some things <v Speaker 1>to announce. Dan made a map yesterday. <v Speaker 2>I made a map, and I think I am going <v Speaker 2>to introduce Janaitoa to the Midwest. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's gonna happen. Exciting, very exciting. <v Speaker 2>It's gonna be probably. <v Speaker 1>Warm though, so uh oh, I get would we like <v Speaker 1>passed by Kayla at all? Do I get to meet Kayla? <v Speaker 2>Nah? South? I mean you gonna meet us? Drive? Yeah? <v Speaker 2>We never meet us in one of those cities six <v Speaker 2>and a half hours and be up here where is Kansas. <v Speaker 2>Nobody knows. You don't know anything between fucking Pennsylvania and Nevada. <v Speaker 2>I only know California. Kansas could not be more dead center. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>all right, I'm not gonna come to its defense or anything. <v Speaker 2>It's like it's a boring state. <v Speaker 5>Objectively on this you want to do a lot of <v Speaker 5>those socials, Like there's this guy that like will go <v Speaker 5>to his co workers and just be like, hey, like <v Speaker 5>what country or like what city has the most Spanish speakers? <v Speaker 5>You guys want to guess city on the most Spanish. <v Speaker 2>Speakers somewhere in Texas. <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna as Santa Antonio. <v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, wow, All American City is very good. <v Speaker 4>Oh he said in the world, the world, the US. <v Speaker 4>I swear to God, you said the US. I swear <v Speaker 4>he did. I thought he did. <v Speaker 2>I thought he said the world. Okay, So in the world, <v Speaker 2>all right, Mexico City. <v Speaker 4>Anyone else want to guess Spanish? <v Speaker 5>Yes, Spanish, Madrid? Oka, I'm very good, guess it is <v Speaker 5>Mexico City. Mexico City, one of the biggest cities in <v Speaker 5>the world. <v Speaker 4>But I wanted to be different. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, you want to be clever. Yeah, I love like geography. <v Speaker 5>Even though I know shit about it. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I'm a big yeah guy. That's Google Maps. <v Speaker 2>I'm bout to do this New Orleans trip. I'm put <v Speaker 2>together whole fucking map and for everyone there, got a <v Speaker 2>whole itinerary, got the road trip thing planning out. <v Speaker 4>I'm really worried now that Jeff did say the world <v Speaker 4>and we just all heard us. <v Speaker 2>He said us. <v Speaker 5>I think I might have said both, because I definitely <v Speaker 5>said world at one point before you guys. <v Speaker 2>All right, okay, let me ask you guys a question. <v Speaker 2>I had a realization, I think fifteen minutes before we <v Speaker 2>got on this call. I think I might have invented podcasts, <v Speaker 2>and I just want to see why by you and <v Speaker 2>see if I can take that claim. Alex Boniello sent <v Speaker 2>me several voice messages this morning, yelling at me because <v Speaker 2>I think it was on fire Escape or something could <v Speaker 2>be anywhere. Really, I was shit talking Lord of the Rings, <v Speaker 2>and he left a very yelly, angry, driving voice memo <v Speaker 2>being like, Dan, I hate this because I know you <v Speaker 2>and I know why you do this, and I know <v Speaker 2>you're trolling, and I know you also believe it about <v Speaker 2>Lord of the Rings, but it gets a rise out <v Speaker 2>of people, and that's why you keep doing it and <v Speaker 2>you lean into it. Now I shouldn't be falling for <v Speaker 2>it because I know you better and blah blah blah. <v Speaker 2>And him doing that, I realized, like him describing like <v Speaker 2>only doing because it gets rise out of people and <v Speaker 2>stuff reminds me. And like two thousand and two, two <v Speaker 2>thousand and three, I'm in the dorms freshman year of college. <v Speaker 2>Fellowship had come out recently, two towers I think maybe <v Speaker 2>just came out and I wouldn't shut the fuck up, <v Speaker 2>believe it or not about how much which I hated them, <v Speaker 2>personality whatnot. So everyone got fucking furious when I did this. <v Speaker 2>They were like so many everyone in the dorms, at <v Speaker 2>the bars, everything was so fucking mad when I would <v Speaker 2>go off at Lord of the Rings. And now I <v Speaker 2>just kept doing it more and more as a result, <v Speaker 2>to the point where at this point in my life, <v Speaker 2>I was making a TV show for a local station. <v Speaker 2>It was a sketch comedy show, so I had a <v Speaker 2>relationship with the station and I pitched them on this idea, <v Speaker 2>being like, listen, I want to do this show where <v Speaker 2>it's me, and like three of my friends were sitting <v Speaker 2>around a table with microphones and we're debating things and <v Speaker 2>not like politics, nothing serious, but it's going to be <v Speaker 2>like like my example was when I talk about how <v Speaker 2>I hate Lord of the Rings, it just turns into <v Speaker 2>this really lively thing and oh, everyone gets really involved, <v Speaker 2>and I think it would make for good content. And <v Speaker 2>they didn't see the vision and they didn't green light <v Speaker 2>the show. So I think the fucking invented podcast it <v Speaker 2>didn't get Greenland Radio. <v Speaker 5>That's a talk show, like if it's on TV, right, <v Speaker 5>we like it sounds like crossfire from it also sounds like. <v Speaker 2>That's the thing. It's like, that's like Bill O'Riley was <v Speaker 2>big yeah Riley yelling at people. Think it was like <v Speaker 2>about Lord of the Rings. Guys, he's right. I checked <v Speaker 2>the patent office. Sure, okay, well never mind. Yeah. <v Speaker 3>And also I invented the high five everyone. I was <v Speaker 3>the first to do it in nineteen eighty one or three. <v Speaker 3>Sorry it was sick and they were a fucking. <v Speaker 2>This is kind of a sobering thing too, and I realized, like, <v Speaker 2>I'm doing the same fucking ship. Yeah, maybe new gimmick here, brother, <v Speaker 2>new material I get. I get a dime every time <v Speaker 2>everyone does a high five. <v Speaker 5>You you did that with Dusty Baker, You and you <v Speaker 5>and him invented the high five. That's actually the guy <v Speaker 5>who invented the high five, which is a crazy thing <v Speaker 5>that I. <v Speaker 2>Also have ten percent of thumbs up. And that's sick too, really. <v Speaker 1>Like, do you have like a part of a shaka <v Speaker 1>at all? <v Speaker 3>Did you know that's actually still very much litigation, right <v Speaker 3>or subject? <v Speaker 1>I wish you wouldn't bring that up, but I was <v Speaker 1>gonna say my point of comparison was, Dan, this sounds <v Speaker 1>like the view, and the view was Did they yell <v Speaker 1>at each. <v Speaker 2>Other on the view? Yes? Animated? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, sounds like it almost sounds like you're trying to <v Speaker 3>take credit for discourse, for human conversation. <v Speaker 2>Can you point to a place that existed before me? Me? Right, <v Speaker 2>I can't. <v Speaker 1>Theratic seminar perhaps, yeah, Socratic method, but never. <v Speaker 2>Yelling about stupid stuff? Right, What was the first person <v Speaker 2>I argue about stupid stuff? <v Speaker 3>You were the first one to have a dumb conversation, <v Speaker 3>so we can't take that away. <v Speaker 1>From speak about dumb conversations. You know, we've had a <v Speaker 1>lot of hot dog talk, and I think about hot <v Speaker 1>dogs a lot talk talk Dan congratulations for getting on <v Speaker 1>the board. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, man, thank you for pulling so specifically for that. <v Speaker 1>By the way, now we're we're I'm not trying to <v Speaker 1>forward the or push the Catholic agenda, but Wiener. You know, <v Speaker 1>we're in the Lenten season, so sometimes we'll see fast <v Speaker 1>food chains ramp up their fish products, right, fish filets. <v Speaker 4>I'm not eating a fish hot dog fish dogs. <v Speaker 1>Wait, just wait now, we don't have any of the <v Speaker 1>Bay Area, but apparently Wiener Schnitzel is selling the sea dog. <v Speaker 4>Now is it made out of inmitation crab, because then <v Speaker 4>I might consider it. <v Speaker 2>No, it's just like a horizontal fish filet. Wait, this <v Speaker 2>is a chain called Wiener Snitzel. Yes, yeah, Does anyone <v Speaker 2>on this show have one within door dash range? No, <v Speaker 2>we could do it by the end of the show. <v Speaker 2>I'm not gonna. I just took my zampie. I'm not <v Speaker 2>in the mood for anything. <v Speaker 4>I remember how I said I was nauseous. I'm not <v Speaker 4>a fucking fish hot dog right now. <v Speaker 1>But it's not a sausage. It's just like a fried <v Speaker 1>fish patty. <v Speaker 3>But it's long, so it doesn't have like hot dog <v Speaker 3>adjacent properties. <v Speaker 2>It's got tartar sauce. <v Speaker 1>It's got like the saddest slice of cheese. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's fished the long way fish the long Yes, Okay, <v Speaker 2>I've always felt wiener w E I is this w <v Speaker 2>I E I E? Yeah, okay, I don't think we <v Speaker 2>have them here now, Okay. <v Speaker 1>Well, I just wanted to bring that to everyone's attention, <v Speaker 1>just because the sea dog just sounds disgusting. It's bad, <v Speaker 1>It's real bad. <v Speaker 2>I don't like it. How dare you? I can't believe <v Speaker 2>you've done this. <v Speaker 1>Well to make good on it. I would like to <v Speaker 1>talk about video games, because we can all agree on those, right, Yes. <v Speaker 2>Let's talk about that Prime four first. I'm sorry speaking of. <v Speaker 5>There's a Wiener in the Midwest. We can go to <v Speaker 5>it on our road trip. <v Speaker 1>Oh well, but the sea dog might be retired by then. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, do you have any let it over sea dogs? <v Speaker 4>That was just a joke about how we agree on <v Speaker 4>games all the times, but actually on that one we didn't. <v Speaker 2>I did think about that last night because I watched <v Speaker 2>Bonk Beat Residue Will Requiem, and uh just we were <v Speaker 2>talking about it, man, just the highs and loads like <v Speaker 2>or just the highs, the different highs and and different, <v Speaker 2>you know, going from all this tension to this action <v Speaker 2>that the ways does so many different things in such <v Speaker 2>a memorable way that I'm gonna remember forever. And I <v Speaker 2>do remember thinking like, well, we're talking about it, like <v Speaker 2>I am gonna remember this game so much more than <v Speaker 2>Metro Time. Absolutely weird. <v Speaker 1>I saw a really fun video saying like all the <v Speaker 1>parrying and RI nine is ridiculous, and they just proceeded <v Speaker 1>to show like stupid not real examples, like you know <v Speaker 1>the scene where there's like car crashes happening where leone <v Speaker 1>is at right, Uh, someone just like stood by where <v Speaker 1>they knew one of the cars was going to be <v Speaker 1>and pressed the perry. <v Speaker 2>Button to make it look like the other way. <v Speaker 4>I mean, I love that anything with that stupid dan. <v Speaker 4>Did Kayla insert ARI nine into her rankings? <v Speaker 2>Where did it fall? <v Speaker 1>No? <v Speaker 4>You know she has me. <v Speaker 2>I was watching Bonk be Bonk still working on it. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>yeah it though so although no, she she stopped streaming <v Speaker 2>last time when she got to the police station, and <v Speaker 2>then she was doing a whole rant about it, like wow, <v Speaker 2>I was really liking this game until now, but now <v Speaker 2>it's reminding me of RI two. Remake the worst one, <v Speaker 2>so she's ready to hate it any of its reminding <v Speaker 2>her of ri two. <v Speaker 4>Hey man, maybe make her happier. <v Speaker 1>I think we can actually all agree on this game. Dan, <v Speaker 1>you've been playing Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I beat it? Uh over the weekend? <v Speaker 2>You beat it? Why? How it's on switch too, and <v Speaker 2>it's it's pretty good? <v Speaker 5>What was the what was just like the play through <v Speaker 5>this time? Did you just do like the basic like, hey, <v Speaker 5>I'm going to go to the four big guys, make <v Speaker 5>the final boss fight as easy as possible and that <v Speaker 5>that sort of thing, or did you like maybe rush <v Speaker 5>to the to the final boss fight early? <v Speaker 2>Like what'd you do? I So I actually started it <v Speaker 2>when the switch to edition came out. I remember the <v Speaker 2>round and see it, So I remember I played a <v Speaker 2>couple of Divine and stuff like that, and I just <v Speaker 2>kind of picked it up again because I'm kind of <v Speaker 2>in a lull where I don't really have a lot <v Speaker 2>I'm working on right now game wise, and I was like, <v Speaker 2>I'll just go back in and so like I was <v Speaker 2>a like Chrystian desert of course. Yeah, I was at <v Speaker 2>like fifty shrines when I beat it so enough to <v Speaker 2>get the Master Sword, and I did kind of bline <v Speaker 2>to most of the Divine Beasts, and I really thought <v Speaker 2>it was going to be not as. I didn't think <v Speaker 2>it was going to be as replayable as like virtually <v Speaker 2>every other Zelda game, because it is so expiration heavy <v Speaker 2>and discovery based. Scovery is the part of it. I mean, <v Speaker 2>it's been a long that game came out a while ago. <v Speaker 2>Now I almost tend to I don't, and I don't <v Speaker 2>remember every little thing or every little side quest, and <v Speaker 2>like there's all the like DLC stuff I had rest <v Speaker 2>around with, and the Hero's Journey shows you, like where <v Speaker 2>you spinning. Sorry, I didn't know. <v Speaker 4>The planet's spinning. <v Speaker 2>Thanks you talking flower. Thanks We're not talking about that <v Speaker 2>right now, but thank you flower. <v Speaker 5>The Hero's Journey thing where it shows you the path <v Speaker 5>he went on, I did that, And I'm like, I played <v Speaker 5>this game for so long, and there's like corners of <v Speaker 5>like every area that I never even went to, so <v Speaker 5>you could really play it like a new game each time. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, And I went in a different order. I went <v Speaker 2>to Rita Village Rito Village first because I wanted to <v Speaker 2>get the Ravollis Gale because I used that so much <v Speaker 2>and everything, and I got some of the DLC stuff <v Speaker 2>where it's like you can just teleport your horse in <v Speaker 2>from anywhere and it doesn't have to be near you <v Speaker 2>or taken out of the stable or whatever. Yeah, it's <v Speaker 2>it's just tremendous. And that switched to versions awesome. You <v Speaker 2>really notice when you go to like the Lost Woods <v Speaker 2>or Cocka eco village, these places where it's like noticeably <v Speaker 2>chugged before and now it's like this just runs great. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I don't know, I just loved it, and <v Speaker 2>it's a much better second play than I think I <v Speaker 2>would have expected. <v Speaker 4>I was just watching it play it on stream. I'm <v Speaker 4>still you know, even though I've played it myself on <v Speaker 4>switch to. Every time I see that game running at <v Speaker 4>sixty frings per second, I'm still just like, wow, that's <v Speaker 4>really cool. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's donning have you done the DLC stuff. Like <v Speaker 2>there was this like sword trial to Motorcycle where it's <v Speaker 2>like if you beat this, you're gonna get no the <v Speaker 2>motorcycles in that firsteal'll see. I think it was the <v Speaker 2>second one to this like Trials of the Sword where <v Speaker 2>if you beat it, the Master Sword is permanently at <v Speaker 2>like sixty damage like that sounds fucking awesome. And I <v Speaker 2>started it and it's insane. It's really like that the <v Speaker 2>Ventide Island type thing where it's like you're just naked. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's just like, all right, here's like a few enemies <v Speaker 2>figured out, throw some rocks at him. I don't know, <v Speaker 2>kill one of them, and then you get like a <v Speaker 2>sauce or something, but grub. Actually this I would love <v Speaker 2>to watch you try this. Give this a shot. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>and don't even look up how much there is because <v Speaker 2>I just started it. And you have to at least <v Speaker 2>get to the Lost Woods and I think at the <v Speaker 2>Master Sword, so you could probably if you already have <v Speaker 2>your save, you could probably just do that. It is <v Speaker 2>the puzzles you kind of have to do where it's like, okay, <v Speaker 2>and climb this tower and if I can knock this <v Speaker 2>dude out, there's three explosive barrels I can throw down <v Speaker 2>and try to take them out that way, and I <v Speaker 2>can float down and try to like sneak attack this <v Speaker 2>one guy. You really have to consider every little thing <v Speaker 2>you're doing. Really, I did not get close to beating it. <v Speaker 2>It is a lot, a lot but it's a cool challenge. Dad. <v Speaker 4>I'm really embarrassed that you said that Blanc was playing <v Speaker 4>Zee and Dine, and I somehow thought you said Kayla, <v Speaker 4>I'm sorry. <v Speaker 2>And then you Antonio for some reason. Yeah, very weird, <v Speaker 2>and we know you have trouble naming different women when yeah, yeah. <v Speaker 1>It's all. It's all the tummy twelvels. Don't worry, mikey Well, <v Speaker 1>speak about old games. Let's go even older. Mike Manatti, <v Speaker 1>if you feel well enough, please tell me more about <v Speaker 1>Spiro the Dragon. <v Speaker 2>Yes. <v Speaker 4>Well, I'm playing the remake, the Reignited Trilogy version of <v Speaker 4>Spiro Year of the Dragon. This is the third one. <v Speaker 4>I played the second one, the reg Night Trilogy, not <v Speaker 4>too long ago, and that was that was a really fun, <v Speaker 4>breezy time. I had also never really played any version <v Speaker 4>of Year of the Dragon, so I thought I would <v Speaker 4>just jump right into that. And yeah, everything that's great <v Speaker 4>about two is also great here. It does the thing <v Speaker 4>that a lot of the third games in these sort <v Speaker 4>of mascot platform trilogies do, where they try to try <v Speaker 4>to switch it up a little bit by having some <v Speaker 4>kind of other playable characters for just a few levels <v Speaker 4>here and there maybe some more gimmicky things like oh, <v Speaker 4>Spirro's on a skateboard now, and I actually like that <v Speaker 4>stuff for those parts, Like you know, one of the <v Speaker 4>characters is a kangaroo, so you're playing us here now <v Speaker 4>you're kind of like doing a lot of the jumping stuff, <v Speaker 4>and one person's a penguin with a rocket launcher homie thing, <v Speaker 4>so you're kind of flying around it. Like none of <v Speaker 4>them have as elaborate refined move sets as Spirro, but <v Speaker 4>playing as them a little bit here and there, I enjoyed. <v Speaker 4>That feels good. The skateboarding is a little bit jinky. <v Speaker 4>It's a bit in the toys games, but again I <v Speaker 4>kind of enjoy the break of doing that here in there. <v Speaker 4>But just yeah, playing through the Reunited trilogy, those are <v Speaker 4>just good platformers. They feel good. They also clearly are <v Speaker 4>games that would be fun to one hundred percent. I'm <v Speaker 4>probably not going to, but the idea of like, oh, <v Speaker 4>like you know, really sweeping this thing up and the <v Speaker 4>game gives you a good idea of where everything is. <v Speaker 4>You're never going to be like, where's the last gym <v Speaker 4>they get pointing in the direction of the gems, this <v Speaker 4>one de collectible or baby Dragon eggs. Right, it's like <v Speaker 4>the Mark sixty four thing, where you're in the level, <v Speaker 4>it'll kind of tell you which ones you need to get. Still, <v Speaker 4>maybe their question marks, but they're generally not that hard <v Speaker 4>to find. Yeah, boy, really good one of these. I <v Speaker 4>hope that those those rumors that maybe Toys for Bob <v Speaker 4>is just making a spyro for for Xbox are true. <v Speaker 4>I would love to see what that would look like. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, what's the amount rushmore of skateboarding video game characters <v Speaker 5>in not skate non skateboarding games island. <v Speaker 1>On that? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's that's good. That's good, Okay, No, Master Normal. <v Speaker 2>What's his name? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, he's got a weird name. It's Yeah, it's <v Speaker 4>like a sophisticated name for the beach bum looking dude <v Speaker 4>for sure, Master Higgins, Master Higgins. Yeah sounds British, right, <v Speaker 4>yeah Higgins. <v Speaker 2>He could be British. I've never heard him maybe, yeah. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, super Invetroland too on Superintendo. That's a that's a gem, <v Speaker 4>right there. <v Speaker 2>Sora skateboarding a video game, Mike, Yeah, no, Roxist does though. <v Speaker 2>Roxist does. <v Speaker 6>Bad. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, no, no, it's good like that. I'm on your side, Mike. <v Speaker 2>Remember that Okay. I almost wanted to say the kid <v Speaker 2>from Street Stree Shoe, but he's a skater, not a skateboarder, <v Speaker 2>right right? Oh yeah? Or full roller skate. I think <v Speaker 2>it was inline that was the yeah, yeah, yeah. <v Speaker 4>I can't say Bart Simpson because that's a gokus. Although <v Speaker 4>I think fan Nelly was talking positively about uh Bart's <v Speaker 4>Nightmare for the Supernintendo game this mornings, and like, you know, <v Speaker 4>I'm a little with them. That game is not It's <v Speaker 4>one of the games that's not good. And yet I <v Speaker 4>owned it and played it a lot of. <v Speaker 2>Memories of it. Yes, you know, we all played all <v Speaker 2>the Simpsons games, like I mean, Virtual Bart I have <v Speaker 2>a lot of funness for and it's like it's just <v Speaker 2>the Tomato mini game. <v Speaker 4>You know, sure, But I do think, yeah, Bart Nightmer <v Speaker 4>is better than Virtual Bart. <v Speaker 2>I think. I can't tell you what about There's the <v Speaker 2>Bart Man any S game, right. <v Speaker 4>There's as games, but the only one of those I <v Speaker 4>really had was barbarsus a Pace Mutants. I didn't have <v Speaker 4>the Radioactive Man one the World. <v Speaker 1>Which one starts you in like a garbage dump. <v Speaker 2>Don't dump? Are you thinking about Crusty's thing? <v Speaker 1>I don't know, I remember playing a Simpsons game on <v Speaker 1>the game Gear game Oh geez, that's fed up. <v Speaker 4>I feel like the only one that Actually, I think <v Speaker 4>all the ns ones might have had game gear points, <v Speaker 4>so you know what, I think it's part versus the <v Speaker 4>world that you're thinking of or the radioactive Man one. <v Speaker 4>It's gotta be one, makes sense, right? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? Yeah, I had. <v Speaker 4>I had Escape Camp Deadly on the game Boy and <v Speaker 4>that game was That was like my most game Genie <v Speaker 4>used game because I needed game Genie just to make <v Speaker 4>that game. <v Speaker 2>Tolerable, make it playable. Yeah, people want to put turtles <v Speaker 2>on the Mount rushmoorphs of skateboarding characters. Oh sure, yeah <v Speaker 2>sure the. <v Speaker 1>Goat simulator. I think there's skateboards in that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah there are. Yes, it's not bad. Yeah, we got one. <v Speaker 2>We got it. <v Speaker 4>We're close than this is gonna take further deliberation on <v Speaker 4>my part. <v Speaker 2>Hey, speaking of barbarsus the space Mutants, I just want <v Speaker 2>to bring up how much of hero I am because <v Speaker 2>I'm supposed to start Blake Club tomorrow. Right, it's my turn. <v Speaker 2>It's my blighting around. I have my stuff, I have <v Speaker 2>the outfit. I was the dentist this morning and they <v Speaker 2>looked at my ship, and they were like, oh, we <v Speaker 2>got to replace the crown. We got to replace this crown. <v Speaker 2>We gotta get we got a fracture on this tooth, <v Speaker 2>We got a filling we gotta fuk with here. You <v Speaker 2>got a lot of stuff they gotta do to me. <v Speaker 2>And they were like, we'd recommend that you come in tomorrow. <v Speaker 2>And I declined because of my profession. Yes, I just <v Speaker 2>don't ever say I'm trying to because I had it <v Speaker 2>on a silver platter. If I wanted to back out <v Speaker 2>of my plight duty, it was right there, a legitimate thing. <v Speaker 2>I said, No, I won't. <v Speaker 5>Was there any consideration that if you did do it, <v Speaker 5>we wouldn't we wouldn't believe you, like we wouldn't like <v Speaker 5>we just wouldn't believe. <v Speaker 2>I knew no matter what, we're gonna be like, oh bullshit, <v Speaker 2>excuse or whatever, you know, like absolutely, I mean I <v Speaker 2>would have come in and shown you the ship I <v Speaker 2>fucking live stream the procedure, would you would? So I <v Speaker 2>turned it down, So I'm not doing it on in April. <v Speaker 2>Thanks for looking forward to its. <v Speaker 1>Very speaking heroes and saving the town and saving the day. <v Speaker 1>We apparently are all saving the day as ditto, because <v Speaker 1>I believe most of us are still playing Pacopeia. <v Speaker 4>Yes, losh, yeah, I'm about to wrap up my third biome. <v Speaker 2>Hell yeah. So are you in the town where you <v Speaker 2>turn on the lights? Yes? <v Speaker 4>The electricity town has maybe been my favorite line. Actually, yeah, <v Speaker 4>that's super fun because it's like they have very obvious <v Speaker 4>plots where houses can go. I really liked putting down <v Speaker 4>the utility poles to connect the electricity really good. <v Speaker 1>So I hate the look of the electricity poles, like <v Speaker 1>top side, so I just bury them. <v Speaker 2>Oh wow, that's clever. Oh I didn't think electric Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's that's really fun. <v Speaker 1>That's right. We have an expensive neighborhood here. <v Speaker 4>Yes, I also love like like these It's it's neat <v Speaker 4>because there is that more open area that you can <v Speaker 4>go to and I did stumble upon that and it's like, hey, <v Speaker 4>there's not really much of a story here. This is <v Speaker 4>just where you can really like do everything. And even <v Speaker 4>now I'm almost feeling like, as much as I love <v Speaker 4>this campaign, it's cool how this it almost feels like <v Speaker 4>a tutorial for when you really want to sandbox the game, right, <v Speaker 4>because like, but it's a full game if you don't <v Speaker 4>want to do that, Yeah, right, exactly, Like I bet <v Speaker 4>I won't do that much of the sandboxing, but just <v Speaker 4>going through this, but it's clearly like, hey, this there <v Speaker 4>is going to teach you, you know about how electricity <v Speaker 4>works in the game. This one's gonna teach you about <v Speaker 4>mining in food. And then I feel like by the <v Speaker 4>time I go I get through this campaign, I will <v Speaker 4>have had a great time with that, but also I <v Speaker 4>will be super well equipped to just make a town <v Speaker 4>from scratch. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. I kind of love that there is a campaign, yeah, <v Speaker 2>because I mean, like Stardo had one Amal Crossing never <v Speaker 2>really did outside of like paint off your house. But like, <v Speaker 2>I do feel like there's a defined like end if <v Speaker 2>you don't want to just go nutso sandbox with it, <v Speaker 2>which I feel like I'm early still like I played <v Speaker 2>the game pretty frequently, but like I just made it <v Speaker 2>rain as a sloper early bro, slow poke, slow poke. <v Speaker 2>You just yawned real big, Yeah, so I'm still Is <v Speaker 2>that technically like the first that's the first area? Yeah, okay? <v Speaker 2>Is it like a like hey, fade to next area <v Speaker 2>level two type like delineation. <v Speaker 4>There's gates that they can't access until you beat that <v Speaker 4>area and the doors and stuff. <v Speaker 2>That's what they're yang gott Yeah. I think it's cool <v Speaker 2>if there's just like clear, like if you just want <v Speaker 2>to fuck around and like make a perfect house and <v Speaker 2>like here's my little garden outside and put the fences up, <v Speaker 2>like you can do that. I've had fun doing that. <v Speaker 2>But also it's like every once in a while I <v Speaker 2>talked to the big fat professor guy and like what <v Speaker 2>do I do? And he's like, dude, you gotta make it. <v Speaker 2>Make this fucker you on. Oh right, that's what I <v Speaker 2>gotta do. <v Speaker 5>You're right right exactly, Like when you boot it back up, <v Speaker 5>being like all the characters will like have big speech <v Speaker 5>bubbles above them, even if they're far away, to be like, <v Speaker 5>oh yeah, I was working with that guy on that <v Speaker 5>and this person had a quest for me. <v Speaker 2>Let me go refresh my memory. <v Speaker 5>I don't feel lost when I boot it back up, <v Speaker 5>even it was like I've been gone for a few <v Speaker 5>days and it's been it's been busy. <v Speaker 2>I haven't had time to think about this. It's really <v Speaker 2>well thought out. You know. <v Speaker 5>My understanding is I didn't play those games. This very <v Speaker 5>very very similar to Dragon Quest Builders in terms of <v Speaker 5>how this works. And how it's structured and all that stuff. <v Speaker 5>We were saying about how it's nice that it has <v Speaker 5>a campaign to like get you hooked on the ideas <v Speaker 5>of the things you do in a Minecraft game. All <v Speaker 5>that stuff was there in Dragon Quest Builders, but there's <v Speaker 5>something to be said about the way that they implement <v Speaker 5>the Pokemon where it's like that really does make different. <v Speaker 5>It feels like a good hook to like keep pulling <v Speaker 5>me along. <v Speaker 1>It feels like a home run linking it to the <v Speaker 1>Pokemon ip because I just sometimes like walking around or <v Speaker 1>I'm just doing busy work of like oh this there's <v Speaker 1>a patch of grass that hasn't been watered, or let <v Speaker 1>me harvest some beans, and then I just like seeing <v Speaker 1>Pokemon interact in the background or whatever. They also do <v Speaker 1>that thing that like dogs will do where you're trying to, like, <v Speaker 1>I don't know, maybe fix something or assemble some furniture, <v Speaker 1>and like the dog will just get up all in <v Speaker 1>your personal space and look like now I need to <v Speaker 1>advise what's going on here, what's happening here, and like <v Speaker 1>they're just just getting in the way. <v Speaker 2>But it's cute. Yeah, I'm trying to like open up <v Speaker 2>a crate to get some like dirt piles out and <v Speaker 2>like venon NaN's just sitting on them. <v Speaker 4>Get the fuck out of here. I'm so excited I <v Speaker 4>can ask Dan this question right now, Dan, who's your <v Speaker 4>favorite pokemon? <v Speaker 2>Oh? My god, I mean can't tell the difference between <v Speaker 2>squirrel and bulbosor they are? They both seem nice? Okay? <v Speaker 4>Do you think maybe the blue one with the squirtle. <v Speaker 4>The other one's green and has a flower. <v Speaker 2>Button like shell things? What's a flower bud? That's a <v Speaker 2>bulb bulbus sore? Okay, I can that'll help me, you know, Dan. <v Speaker 1>What I'd like to do with you, though, is I <v Speaker 1>would like for you to make a tear list on <v Speaker 1>giantpom dot com. <v Speaker 2>Oh that's a good idea. <v Speaker 1>Oh you can do that now, because you can do <v Speaker 1>that now on the website shots out the chuck of <v Speaker 1>your favorite pokemon using your. <v Speaker 2>Wiki data, which is extensive, which is great for tearmakers <v Speaker 2>in there. Yeah. Yeah, I actually I think my number <v Speaker 2>one so far, and granted I have like maybe twenty <v Speaker 2>to twenty five, i'd say sure. I think I like <v Speaker 2>him on chan. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, punching one, Yeah okay, yeah, yeah, he's. <v Speaker 2>You taught me how to punch things with boxing gloves. <v Speaker 2>It's very important to do that in this gave, actually <v Speaker 2>it is. Yeah, yeah, I hate. The one thing that <v Speaker 2>bugs me is there a better way around this where <v Speaker 2>it's like you'll see the shinies and sometimes you can <v Speaker 2>go up and just hit wide to like pick up <v Speaker 2>some honey or something, and then sometimes you have to <v Speaker 2>like punch into the ground, you know, and then it's <v Speaker 2>like I'm constantly making these holes in the ground, and <v Speaker 2>I like things to look nice and yet in your inventory. <v Speaker 4>But yeah, I agree, I don't love that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, do you think I don't? Sorry real quick. <v Speaker 2>The only thing. <v Speaker 4>The other thing I don't love is the dream Islands, <v Speaker 4>which feels like a daily chore, like go to the <v Speaker 4>dream Iland and collect some materials, and people are like, no, <v Speaker 4>you should you need to do that, because like maybe <v Speaker 4>you'll run across something special there if you're teasing me. <v Speaker 5>But I don't like go there unless I feel like <v Speaker 5>I need something, like oh, it's like I am trying <v Speaker 5>to complete something and I'm gonna look for the dream <v Speaker 5>Island that has that resource that I can't get from <v Speaker 5>this area naturally. Although every time I've gone there, I <v Speaker 5>usually do find like an abandoned house, and I'm steal <v Speaker 5>the furniture. <v Speaker 1>And that makes it easier. Like that's my favorite thing. <v Speaker 1>It's just stealing furniture. It's like, oh, this is gonna <v Speaker 1>look great. <v Speaker 5>In my This is mine now because I got I <v Speaker 5>did build that big house in the Electric town. It's <v Speaker 5>like I got a lot of rooms to fill out <v Speaker 5>in there. So yeah, yeah, I'm making it look real nice. <v Speaker 1>I was talking with a friend and she was telling <v Speaker 1>me like, yeah, I just spent like three hours watering grass. <v Speaker 2>Yea. I saw someone suck up water and like from <v Speaker 2>the ocean and like spray it everywhere. Is that real? <v Speaker 2>I tried it because that's how that clip too. I <v Speaker 2>think it was my friend Pokemon Steve that showed that <v Speaker 2>where it's like you got into the thing, sucked it <v Speaker 2>up and he went out there and it like just <v Speaker 2>filled up a whole like huge radius. Yeah, and I <v Speaker 2>tried that. I don't know if you need like a <v Speaker 2>later I bet that's a later thing. <v Speaker 1>I bet it's an upgrade to your suck. Yeah, okay, <v Speaker 1>upgrade your suck. Everyone speaking about funny animals, Chuck surprised <v Speaker 1>me with a quick look recording for horsey game. I <v Speaker 1>don't have much to say on it other than that <v Speaker 1>quick look is out. It's a big year for getting <v Speaker 1>animals to breed with mugenics and now horsey game. You <v Speaker 1>are betting on the horses. Chuck made a horse mate <v Speaker 1>with a Kia and then it made the horse go faster. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and then our best horse was actually a dog. <v Speaker 1>We need to check out on Chuck. Dogs are terrible horses. Well, <v Speaker 1>this way was like a faster horse because you're also <v Speaker 1>like racing them, you're. <v Speaker 5>Bettingund or something. Yeah, you could settle on a greyhound <v Speaker 5>and put a kid on there that would. <v Speaker 2>Look a lot like a horse. It looked like a <v Speaker 2>we ney dog. <v Speaker 4>I mean yeah, but I assume we had don't let <v Speaker 4>the dogs race with the horses because the dogs are <v Speaker 4>slower than horses. <v Speaker 1>They do at the track, they do different races for <v Speaker 1>the dogs the off Yeah, like the real the real <v Speaker 1>horses and the real dogs. But here they just let <v Speaker 1>them race. <v Speaker 2>Any of your dads take you to the betting tracks, <v Speaker 2>yeah all the time. Yeah, it was right. <v Speaker 4>He let me pick Yeah, they let me like pick <v Speaker 4>off horse and I would just take them base off <v Speaker 4>the name I liked and you had to put like <v Speaker 4>twenty bucks or whatever it was, and then you lose <v Speaker 4>and you beat you right, No, no, damn that part <v Speaker 4>didn't happen, Flowered. <v Speaker 1>H Well, you know sometimes with gambling there's cards. <v Speaker 2>I guess cards are in Slave the Spire too. I <v Speaker 2>just got real sad. I'm sorry, Mike Mandatti, you would <v Speaker 2>play Slay the Spire too. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I've been playing a lot of Slave Despired a <v Speaker 4>lot of people apparently. Yeah, the game's fun. I mean again, <v Speaker 4>I'm a little wary of early access stuff, but this <v Speaker 4>just feels like the game and even you know, I <v Speaker 4>just want to finish a run with all five of <v Speaker 4>the characters that are in this early access thing. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, just go to slate Flower. We got to work <v Speaker 2>the dog. <v Speaker 4>But I you know, so I've done four out of five. <v Speaker 4>Now I'm on the the evoker guy who has these orbs. <v Speaker 4>He was in the first one. He wasn't my favorite <v Speaker 4>there and continues to not be my favorite. But still <v Speaker 4>fun and uh gosh, gosh, Say the Spire. That's good stuff. <v Speaker 4>That is a good loop, right, even though like the <v Speaker 4>runs are relatively long, but you know, you can save <v Speaker 4>and quit, you can come back to it. It's it's <v Speaker 4>easy enough and it's crazy because I think it does <v Speaker 4>what a good roadlike is supposed to do. Worred is <v Speaker 4>a healthy mix of your game knowledge and skill is <v Speaker 4>helping and the luck, right, like what are you getting <v Speaker 4>this run? But this game there is a lot of <v Speaker 4>making your own luck, Like, Okay, if these are literally <v Speaker 4>the cards I'm getting, if these are the cards I <v Speaker 4>have to play, let me figure out the synergies with this, <v Speaker 4>what's going to be smart here? Like, oh, I'm getting <v Speaker 4>a lot of cards that give me armors. There are <v Speaker 4>a way to turn armor into damage, stuff like that. <v Speaker 4>A lot of times there is you know, they kind <v Speaker 4>of think about these things. So yeah, it's just you know, <v Speaker 4>if you have not checked out so the Spire and <v Speaker 4>I somehow never played that first one until last year. <v Speaker 2>Was it twenty nineteen, Yeah, it's a. <v Speaker 4>Twenty It was part of my twenty nineteen tour. <v Speaker 5>I was playing hard Stone and nothing, but for a <v Speaker 5>year he played Worldwark or he played every Blizzard game <v Speaker 5>twenty four. <v Speaker 4>I think I was doing a lot of Wow Classic <v Speaker 4>or something. <v Speaker 2>Classic. <v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, Classic was great, man, that was what that <v Speaker 4>might have been when that came out. Yeah, I was <v Speaker 4>I was in molten Cores fighting ragnuros. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, uh. <v Speaker 1>Speaking about Slay the Spire too. Upf this Friday, we're <v Speaker 1>going to be doing co ops Slay the Spire. Jeff Grubbed, <v Speaker 1>Mike Manatti, Chuck Towski, and our dear friend Bailey Myers <v Speaker 1>are gonna dive in. <v Speaker 2>I was giving coould I go in completely, No, not <v Speaker 2>annoying anything. <v Speaker 1>No, Bailey's gonna get so mad. <v Speaker 5>I was wondering, I was not worried about these guys <v Speaker 5>yelling at me whatever. If she also, I mean, that's <v Speaker 5>gonna be bad. Yeah, maybe try a run, Okay. I <v Speaker 5>was telling her like, hey, you know, like Chuck's probably <v Speaker 5>on it, Mike's probably on it. You might have to <v Speaker 5>carry Grub Yeah definitely, Yeah, all right, I'll try it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I thought like it would be fun to go in <v Speaker 5>there be like, have these guys teach me on a run. <v Speaker 5>That'd be because I'd be annoying, but I don't want <v Speaker 5>to annoy her. <v Speaker 2>Grub. <v Speaker 1>The one tip I'll give you is just to increase <v Speaker 1>the speed of the game. <v Speaker 2>From the jump. Yeah, that sounds good. The other thing that. <v Speaker 1>Because you're such a speed demon lately, because you've been <v Speaker 1>playing F one five. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I've been getting into F one, which is a <v Speaker 5>weird thing. Like the cars are all different, so sometimes <v Speaker 5>one team just has better cars than the other and <v Speaker 5>they win every race, and I'm like kind of like, <v Speaker 5>what's the point of that? But then I keep watching <v Speaker 5>it because it's like, Oh, it's like a science fair <v Speaker 5>sort of thing where it's like, oh, they just are winning. <v Speaker 5>They built a better car and that's the whole idea. <v Speaker 5>But I want to race in it. And so I <v Speaker 5>was like, I want to try one of these games. <v Speaker 5>And I know that it was Code Masters, and now <v Speaker 5>EA has been making the F one games and they're <v Speaker 5>pretty well regarded, I believe. I booted it up and <v Speaker 5>it's like, yeah, I liked it with the controller, but <v Speaker 5>it did immediately make me want to get out the <v Speaker 5>wheel and a setup and do it for real. I <v Speaker 5>have the pedals and all that. It's like, I'm gonna <v Speaker 5>do all this work to sort of dial in what <v Speaker 5>these tracks feel like. And learning the tracks is is fun, <v Speaker 5>but all that muscle memory I might build up, like <v Speaker 5>playing on a controller is not going to translate over <v Speaker 5>to the wheel. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, I thought it was. It's well done. <v Speaker 5>The version I have twenty twenty five has like the <v Speaker 5>challenges almost like the WWE games, where it's like, we're <v Speaker 5>going to go take you through a story. And one <v Speaker 5>of the stories they have is the scenes from the <v Speaker 5>F one movie with Brad Pitt, and it's like, so <v Speaker 5>you're just doing some of the key races for that. <v Speaker 5>And I tried that and that was pretty neat, but <v Speaker 5>you could tell that that is just them sort of <v Speaker 5>trying to slap extra content on top to what is <v Speaker 5>basically just a game where you race. There is a <v Speaker 5>like my team mode where you can do the you know, <v Speaker 5>I don't know if you set the price of hot <v Speaker 5>dogs like you do in like college football or something <v Speaker 5>like that, but you. <v Speaker 2>Definitely have to manage your team. <v Speaker 5>And I'm always interested in one of those, but if <v Speaker 5>it seems so time consuming that I didn't even engage <v Speaker 5>with that. But the racing itself is well done. I <v Speaker 5>could see why people like this so much, and it's <v Speaker 5>one where it's like if I could spend some more <v Speaker 5>time with it and dedicate some time to setting up <v Speaker 5>a actual wheel and pedal situation, I would probably get quite. <v Speaker 2>A lot out of it. That will right, Like is <v Speaker 2>that compatible with what you got? Yeah? It is. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I have a Lotchitech that is like pretty like it's <v Speaker 5>like not bare bones, but it's like maybe a step up. <v Speaker 5>And a lot of games just have a setting where <v Speaker 5>it's like do you have this one selected from this menu? <v Speaker 2>And I could just do that for sure, Okay, lovely lovely. <v Speaker 2>Uh yeah. <v Speaker 1>I don't know why I have a hankering to get <v Speaker 1>really into baseball this season, but it was either baseball <v Speaker 1>or F one this year that I thought like, oh, <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna get really into one of these. But the <v Speaker 1>new MLB this shows coming out like really soon. I <v Speaker 1>wonder if this year is just kind of another one, <v Speaker 1>which usually that's good enough, but I wonder if there's <v Speaker 1>anything special about the show this year. Uh, Jeff Backlar, <v Speaker 1>we have to give credit. We have to give credit <v Speaker 1>where credit is due, I know, because you're raising a <v Speaker 1>little influencer in the household because this UPF we checked <v Speaker 1>out and I'm gonna say, enjoyed rounds. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, pretty good fun. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, we were playing and then when I was testing <v Speaker 4>out the living room set up for the Lego stream, <v Speaker 4>I was playing it with my brother. Yeah, it's just god, <v Speaker 4>it's a very good let's play game, so we can <v Speaker 4>scream at each other in just kind of game. <v Speaker 1>Right. <v Speaker 4>It's just a lot of highs happening there, a lot <v Speaker 4>of intense moments just gosh, just very simple but fun <v Speaker 4>and like, yeah, I can see myself just picking that <v Speaker 4>up here and there for a session. <v Speaker 5>There's a lot of death lot there too, right, because <v Speaker 5>it's like, once you start learning how the various things <v Speaker 5>work together, it's like, oh, if I could get this <v Speaker 5>thing that sort of lobs my bullets, I could hide <v Speaker 5>up there and Okay, it's kind of hard to hit them, <v Speaker 5>but whatever, I'm protected. Let me see if I can <v Speaker 5>get another card to synergize with that. And then I <v Speaker 5>got the one where it's like, all right, it's a <v Speaker 5>fast burst. And then I got another one where it's like, okay, <v Speaker 5>if it were the flex off something, the very first <v Speaker 5>character it sees it's gonna aim at that character, it's like, well, <v Speaker 5>that's dangerous, but I might be able to make this <v Speaker 5>work since I understand what to expect here and that <v Speaker 5>I got to that last round with Jan and I <v Speaker 5>just jumped up and fired at the ground where Jan <v Speaker 5>was standing and he was completely protected, and it bounced <v Speaker 5>off the ground and just killed him. I barely had <v Speaker 5>to do anything. It's like, Okay, understanding how this stuff <v Speaker 5>works together is just as important as being very good <v Speaker 5>at like running around, jumping and aiming, and that kind <v Speaker 5>of evens things out a little. <v Speaker 2>Bit right in an interesting way. So did you guys <v Speaker 2>play with like the mod that lets you do more <v Speaker 2>than two players? Oh yeah, we're thinking about it. Someone. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, someone reached out to me and was like, yo, <v Speaker 3>you can do this, and I gotta investigate further how <v Speaker 3>that works. I think the cool thing about rounds is <v Speaker 3>like it's also it's like surprisingly fair, Like just the <v Speaker 3>balancing that you get towards round three, four and five <v Speaker 3>are just increasing, you know. I mean, look, it's weird, right, <v Speaker 3>Like Dib's so good at spider Hack, fucking cooks me. <v Speaker 3>Like we'll do fifty rounds and he'll go like thirty <v Speaker 3>five and fifteen in this game. I've just got his number. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what it is. <v Speaker 3>He hates me, but uh yeah, I think it's I <v Speaker 3>I think it's really really strong. Spider Reck is just <v Speaker 3>like the natural comparison, I think. But yeah, this this <v Speaker 3>game kind of rules. We'll just go through like, uh, <v Speaker 3>you know, we'll do like five rounds and uh that's <v Speaker 3>that's enough, uh friction, so that we can move on <v Speaker 3>with the rest. <v Speaker 2>Of our day. M h it's great and you can <v Speaker 2>move on. Yeah, you know, I think and I love how. <v Speaker 3>Insane things escalate and how quickly because by the third round, <v Speaker 3>like someone is op in a way where you're like, okay, <v Speaker 3>you cannot be explode the entire map like we do, <v Speaker 3>pull things back, things get nuts, And I love how <v Speaker 3>like things stacked too right, like especially when you get <v Speaker 3>like a glass cannon a couple of times in a <v Speaker 3>row and you're like, oh man, this thing is now <v Speaker 3>just on. <v Speaker 2>It's a one shot kill. Yeah. I think it's really <v Speaker 2>really strong. <v Speaker 3>I am genuinely surprise it did not cross our radar <v Speaker 3>earlier considering how how long it's been around. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, there needs to be a name for that. <v Speaker 2>John a spider heck this power samurai gun. Yeah like that, <v Speaker 2>or as a lot of people call them, couch co <v Speaker 2>op like the cotch co op Lego party with you <v Speaker 2>last night, Mike. That was a good catch cop really nice. <v Speaker 2>That was the new gimmicks. It was. It was great. <v Speaker 2>But we should talk about leg Party as well. <v Speaker 4>Yeah yeah, yeah, so so yeah, so if people missed <v Speaker 4>our stream last night, uh the Lego Lego Party. People <v Speaker 4>actually reached out to us to h see if we <v Speaker 4>wanted to check out a new update for the game <v Speaker 4>a bit ahead of time. The updates out tomorrow and <v Speaker 4>that's a few things, a few new mini fake characters <v Speaker 4>to play as they turned some of the like free <v Speaker 4>for all games into two v two mode, and you know, <v Speaker 4>it's games that work pretty well for like that kind <v Speaker 4>of splittoo ny one right where you just walking around <v Speaker 4>painting the floor. <v Speaker 2>They still have a single version. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>The big thing here is so original Lega Party did <v Speaker 4>not have like the bonus star equivalent then like oh <v Speaker 4>who won the most mini games? <v Speaker 2>Right bricks? Right, so there's bonus bricks, but it's you <v Speaker 2>vote for which the bonus brick are going to be. <v Speaker 2>At the beginning, you can say how many you want, <v Speaker 2>like one to like it was like ten or something. Yes, <v Speaker 2>so we did with three. But again it wasn't just <v Speaker 2>like oh who won the most mini games? It was <v Speaker 2>like when you're voting to play what mini game and <v Speaker 2>you could stand on what's one your voting for? Is <v Speaker 2>like who jumped the most in this mini game rights, <v Speaker 2>so I called that and I knew I jumped the most, <v Speaker 2>so I'm like, everyone, we should vote for that one. <v Speaker 2>So I tried to convince everyone to go in, and <v Speaker 2>they did, so I got that bonus prick and knowing <v Speaker 2>that I was jumping through that entire mini game. <v Speaker 4>But like, I probably have that and it could be <v Speaker 4>like who got who has you know, could be more <v Speaker 4>normally who collected the most studs, or you could still <v Speaker 4>just go to the random one and who knows what <v Speaker 4>it's going to be. <v Speaker 2>It's so so good. Yeah, okay that element. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, and like you know, I like I kind of <v Speaker 4>like a little bit of the chaos of the bonus <v Speaker 4>stars for Mario Party. It was something I maybe missed in. <v Speaker 2>Basic Lego Party, and this seems this is a really <v Speaker 2>smart way of implementing that. I think it was one <v Speaker 2>of the only things that I preferred about Mario Party <v Speaker 2>gameplay wise was the bullshit stars. So hearing that they <v Speaker 2>put that in and made it even more fun. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's awesome, right, especially because you know there was <v Speaker 4>a little bit of like, oh, we know exactly who <v Speaker 4>won right before when the game ends and out and <v Speaker 4>knows what's going to happen this weird bonus brick parts. <v Speaker 4>So yeah, we had a we had a lot of <v Speaker 4>fun playing that. <v Speaker 2>Actually, I really yeah. <v Speaker 1>Did Aj and Chris play Lego Party before had Chris. <v Speaker 4>Had watched his Sun play, so it was actually his <v Speaker 4>first time playing it. Okay, awesome and uh and they <v Speaker 4>had a good time as well. <v Speaker 2>Very easy to pick up and play. <v Speaker 1>Shouts out to everyone that tuned in last night for <v Speaker 1>the Lego Party update, party, in person party and party. <v Speaker 4>And by the way, we are we're doing a thing <v Speaker 4>out that videos kind of new through them the week <v Speaker 4>new members of giant Bomb Premium go to giant bomb <v Speaker 4>dot com slash Join. We're gonna pick ten new Premium <v Speaker 4>members to receive Lego Party for free thanks to our <v Speaker 4>friends made that game. We are going to and what <v Speaker 4>whatever platform you want? Right, We're not just gonna give <v Speaker 4>you a Steam code that's not what you want. You'll <v Speaker 4>ask you what platform, We'll go to them, we'll get <v Speaker 4>that code for you. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, there you go. <v Speaker 1>Last game I have on the docket here, I check <v Speaker 1>this out. Gosh was this a week two weeks ago now? <v Speaker 1>Prag Mata, Mikey and I sat down. We did a <v Speaker 1>little quick look good. Amen, can shut the fuck up. <v Speaker 2>I can't disagree. <v Speaker 4>What do you know? <v Speaker 1>You know? <v Speaker 2>Heard enough? Oh boy, maybe a backlark. <v Speaker 1>Then it's just fucking it there exactly. Let's just planet <v Speaker 1>in the gardens plant it. Yeah, Oh my good, Yeah, Okay, <v Speaker 1>there we go, Pragmata. This is still I have yet <v Speaker 1>to get confirmed it. It may or may not be <v Speaker 1>a Mega Man game, but it is a third person shooter. <v Speaker 1>I had a bunch of fun with it. It looks <v Speaker 1>really slick. I like the their take on like future <v Speaker 1>dystopian designs on their robots, even though it's kind of <v Speaker 1>similar ish to the Horizon style. I just think I <v Speaker 1>like how these are more a little bit humanoid and <v Speaker 1>up looking versus animals, and. <v Speaker 4>It's like more sci fi, like straight straight up sci fi, right, <v Speaker 4>like that kind of weird, like so pristine. <v Speaker 2>It's actually kind of. <v Speaker 4>Creepy sci fi, like too clean looking. It's too clean, <v Speaker 4>and I like that vibe. So yeah, I was watching <v Speaker 4>some some b roll that cap con sense based off <v Speaker 4>of the demo that you played. Gosh, this game keeps <v Speaker 4>looking better every time I see it. My favorite thing <v Speaker 4>in this demo was because you know, there's there's two <v Speaker 4>parts of the gameplay. There is the third person shooting <v Speaker 4>as the guy, and then the girl does this hacking <v Speaker 4>and it's kind of like, oh, you got to kind <v Speaker 4>of navigate this little face buttons, right, So you're doing <v Speaker 4>both of these at the same time. But I love <v Speaker 4>seeing how they are connected. It's not just like, oh, <v Speaker 4>I'm playing two separate games and that's the challenge. Like <v Speaker 4>the best the coolest part was she was doing the <v Speaker 4>hacking thing and there were these giant kind of like <v Speaker 4>nodes blocking the grid. Yeah, and on the enemy that <v Speaker 4>she's hacking, there are these same nodes just on the <v Speaker 4>character and you could shoot those nodes and when you <v Speaker 4>destroy them on the character, they disappear on the hacking grid, <v Speaker 4>so you can do the hack. I'm like, oh, that's <v Speaker 4>super smart. That is so connected and just seems so <v Speaker 4>fun and immediately understandable. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm very excited to This footage didn't show off <v Speaker 1>how hectic and how mobile you can get because you <v Speaker 1>can stretch your brain out to be juggling both things <v Speaker 1>and like hacking one enemy but you're shooting a different <v Speaker 1>one and then like firing off your different side arms <v Speaker 1>to like stun them or to distract them. A weapon <v Speaker 1>that we didn't show off in our little quick look <v Speaker 1>is like kind of like a hologram of Hugh that <v Speaker 1>you can shoot out, so you can futz around and <v Speaker 1>like distract enemies and get them looking one way and <v Speaker 1>then pop them off and have more isolated encounters so <v Speaker 1>you can pick them off versus having all of them <v Speaker 1>swarm you. And there are instances where they are all <v Speaker 1>swarming you. Another thing that wasn't in the footage is <v Speaker 1>that I love a game, y'all with a finisher. I <v Speaker 1>love a game a gigantic exactly a gigantic bun prompt <v Speaker 1>is above an enemy and no matter how far you are, <v Speaker 1>if the icon is like lit up put it, you <v Speaker 1>just zip over and then like Hugh will, just like <v Speaker 1>with his basic pistol, just boom the robot automaton. And <v Speaker 1>I know this is a concern I've seen some people have, <v Speaker 1>is that they're going to get sick and tired of <v Speaker 1>the interplay and the conversations with Diana and Hugh because <v Speaker 1>it's a little child. It is a robot child. And <v Speaker 1>again this doesn't get shown off super well in the <v Speaker 1>quick Look or the footage we were provided, but I <v Speaker 1>actually really enjoy the interactions between Hugh and Diana. Diana <v Speaker 1>has like an innocent curiosity over the world, but she's <v Speaker 1>also not incompetent, like she's not getting scared over Oh god, <v Speaker 1>there's a just gigantic baby robot. It's more like, now <v Speaker 1>let me handle this dog. <v Speaker 2>I got you. <v Speaker 1>It's like less of the lone wolf young cub trope <v Speaker 1>that like right like Last of Us, Mike, you mentioned <v Speaker 1>this during the quick look, loves to like shove down <v Speaker 1>our throats, and it's more like here's it's like two <v Speaker 1>fish out of water just meeting each other, and one <v Speaker 1>hacks stuff while the one shoots. I don't want to <v Speaker 1>alarm anyone, though. There is a clap track equivalent in <v Speaker 1>this game. <v Speaker 2>Oh what does that mean? <v Speaker 4>The communter's like just a goofy little robot that's gonna <v Speaker 4>be joking around and they can jerk off hand motions <v Speaker 4>at me and stuff. <v Speaker 1>Maybe not the jerk off hand motions, but there is <v Speaker 1>a clap trap robot that is like cracking wise, but <v Speaker 1>he's mostly no, not the Miles McKenzie that'd be great. <v Speaker 1>He just hangs out in your hub and you play <v Speaker 1>like Bingo with him to unlock different abilities like and <v Speaker 1>info stuff. I am really excited to see what later <v Speaker 1>in the game looks like because I mentioned this on <v Speaker 1>the Quick Look, but the two previews that I've played <v Speaker 1>kind of follow a similar format where you get to <v Speaker 1>this stop gap in a level and then you have <v Speaker 1>to go collect or unlock five to six different keys, <v Speaker 1>and I'm worried that that's what the primary flow the <v Speaker 1>game will be. I hope that that's just the slices <v Speaker 1>of the game that they decide to show for the demo. <v Speaker 1>But what I am pleased about, though, is that this <v Speaker 1>city section that they showed us is very much more <v Speaker 1>open of an environment versus the tight corridors of a <v Speaker 1>space station that we've seen in like all the trailers. <v Speaker 1>So I'm interested to see the different locales and locations <v Speaker 1>they will show in Pragmata. The other thing that bothers <v Speaker 1>me and this is just a me thing. <v Speaker 2>Here. <v Speaker 1>I see a gigantic mech suit on the dude, I <v Speaker 1>see booster jets. I just want him tone slide like <v Speaker 1>a Vanquishish of course. <v Speaker 2>Yeah sure, I didn't want that. Yeah, yeah, who knows. <v Speaker 1>Maybe that's a later ability that gets unblocked. <v Speaker 2>Sports look really smooth, So you would you just expect <v Speaker 2>it to work? Yeah, yeah, yeah, who knows. <v Speaker 1>But like, I think this game is also going to <v Speaker 1>be covertly funny in the same way that Resident Evil <v Speaker 1>is funny. Where uh oh, we didn't know that we <v Speaker 1>made a joke. Was that inappropriate timing? Okay, here it is, haha, <v Speaker 1>and it just it just feels good, y'all. Like Capcom <v Speaker 1>has this engine fully figured out. It's tuned up. <v Speaker 2>They haven't figured out on open world games anyways. Pretty well, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>I'm doing a finisher in a Capcom game, and it <v Speaker 2>reminds me we did that Resident Evil seven DLC. We <v Speaker 2>did the stream of the entirety of the end of <v Speaker 2>Zoe thing, and at one point my brother, who turned <v Speaker 2>into a monster, just gave me a straight up power bomb. <v Speaker 2>It was that DLC was ridiculous, just swimming around alligators. <v Speaker 2>Then you get the god hand and you beat your <v Speaker 2>monster brother to death. It was fucking awesome. <v Speaker 1>I'm excited for Capcom to continue the heater of a year. <v Speaker 2>They've already one twelve PM. Oh, I thought he was <v Speaker 2>cutting down to another meteor. He's asking for lunch. Now, <v Speaker 2>oh well, I guess I mean I was done talking <v Speaker 2>about Pragmata. Anyway, that's gotta be out real soon, y'all, <v Speaker 2>like in a month. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, very very So who's got that in fantasy? <v Speaker 5>Someone has to have it already, right, Look, I think Danty, <v Speaker 5>you also did I get it that? <v Speaker 2>That is one turbo Sean has that. I think you <v Speaker 2>might have got that pretty early on, actually solid that <v Speaker 2>the flower is going to be the new time dot <v Speaker 2>is first sinking the box itself says it's like mostly <v Speaker 2>kind of accurate with the time. Yeah, it's it was <v Speaker 2>a little late on that, actually I got it. I <v Speaker 2>don't know why you felt confident enough to count down <v Speaker 2>to noon and he was that far off? <v Speaker 6>Yea? <v Speaker 2>Is it? Is it like connected to Wi Fi? I understand, No, <v Speaker 2>it's just anything right. It just doesn't not It's not <v Speaker 2>even an alarm clock, So how does it know what times? <v Speaker 2>And you said the time, and you said, like the <v Speaker 2>hours it is awake, and so I said, like I <v Speaker 2>want to wake up at seven. I can't tell him that. <v Speaker 2>I'm just like you can wake up whenever you want <v Speaker 2>after seven whatever. It's oh my god, oh boy. But anyways, <v Speaker 2>keeping it on in the kitchen. <v Speaker 5>Before before we move on, I should talk about this <v Speaker 5>meteor because there's gonna people yeah that were like near me, <v Speaker 5>the like, hey, did you experience that? <v Speaker 2>Yes? <v Speaker 5>Uh, apparently I was downstairs so I didn't hear it <v Speaker 5>or but immediately stuff was like something exploded. <v Speaker 2>What does that mean? <v Speaker 5>Yes, something exploded, And apparently people all around the Cleveland <v Speaker 5>area are like something exploded, calling nine one one, being <v Speaker 5>like a house exploded. <v Speaker 2>I wasn't sure on my okay, I kind of like <v Speaker 2>was feeling pretty tired from the stream, so I kind <v Speaker 2>of laid back down and then got. <v Speaker 5>Up later and she's like, it was a meteor. A <v Speaker 5>meteor flew over like Columbus and then over Cleveland and <v Speaker 5>it like exploded over Lake Erie, so basically right over <v Speaker 5>the lake right next. <v Speaker 2>To my house. It's like how the dinosaurs died or <v Speaker 2>you guys. <v Speaker 4>It wasn't an asteroid but blew up in the atmosphere, <v Speaker 4>so we're good, But yeah, it was. <v Speaker 2>It was weird. <v Speaker 6>Uh. <v Speaker 5>And I saw some like dashcam footage of people like <v Speaker 5>on so kind of be like, oh man, did that <v Speaker 5>just explode in the air. Yeah, apparently it shook houses <v Speaker 5>all around the city and people heard it as far <v Speaker 5>away as Pittsburgh and Columbus. <v Speaker 2>So better luck next time. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, come for me space, Yeah, trying to take <v Speaker 4>me out. <v Speaker 2>Take an independency laser come down into his frame. <v Speaker 4>Still a super fun time to see a meteor flying <v Speaker 4>through the sky when you know we're at war with. <v Speaker 1>It looked a lot like some other stuff I saw. <v Speaker 1>I wouldn't say where at war. I think it's mostly <v Speaker 1>just dumb fucking idiots. Anyway, I'm very excited about Pragmata. <v Speaker 1>It makes me excited for one Musha and I was <v Speaker 1>less than excited for that or I. <v Speaker 2>Will to anything Capcom is doing now. I mean they've <v Speaker 2>always had my attention, but now, holy shit, I kind <v Speaker 2>of want to go back to Exo Primal. <v Speaker 5>That's how much I'm into Sure right now, I'm like <v Speaker 5>I should give that game another chance. I was probably wrong, <v Speaker 5>Like that's how it feel than most people I thought. <v Speaker 5>I know, Yeah, I was like a seven point five <v Speaker 5>on that. Yeah, but like, uh, what is it? <v Speaker 1>Monster Hunter Stories three reviewed? <v Speaker 2>Really well? That's like yeah, like I like maybe I <v Speaker 2>should actually check that out. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, so so good on Capcom. <v Speaker 4>Somehow, the somehow the Mega bag game is going to <v Speaker 4>be where they double and I'm gonna be sad. <v Speaker 1>I'm sorry, Mikey. Well now it's gonna be great. Uh So, folks, <v Speaker 1>we're gonna take a quick, pricky break and assess and <v Speaker 1>pick up a bunch of meteor rocks and then sell <v Speaker 1>them on the internet. <v Speaker 2>And then Jeff Greb will talk about the news right <v Speaker 2>after this. This is Jeff with Yeah, I have some <v Speaker 2>news here for you, everybody. Let's uh, let's let's start <v Speaker 2>with everyone's favorite. <v Speaker 5>Nvidio met with criticism for DLSS's five's photo real graphics alterations. <v Speaker 5>U DLSS five was something they kind of announced and <v Speaker 5>then had some coverage. It's an advancement and its image <v Speaker 5>enhancement technology, which it calls the most significant breakthrough in <v Speaker 5>computer graphics since the debut of real time ray tracing. <v Speaker 5>Unlike previous versions that focused on upscaling resolution or improving <v Speaker 5>frame rates, DLSS five uses AI to alter game visuals <v Speaker 5>with photo real lighting and materials, aiming to bridge the <v Speaker 5>divide between rendering and reality. They had some examples they <v Speaker 5>showed off, and they chose some curious ones. There are <v Speaker 5>some ones where it's like, oh yeah, the starfield characters <v Speaker 5>look bad, so when you try to when you improve them. <v Speaker 5>I noticed that, Okay, is that what the game should <v Speaker 5>look like? <v Speaker 2>Though? <v Speaker 5>I have some questions. And then they had stuff like <v Speaker 5>Resident Evil Requiem, where we all know what Grace looks <v Speaker 5>like right now. That is a very popular character that's <v Speaker 5>popping off, like people are super into Grace right now, <v Speaker 5>and she looks a certain way, and then you turn <v Speaker 5>on DLSS five and she looks different. It's not just <v Speaker 5>the lighting it is I guess that's what they're saying. <v Speaker 5>Lighting and materials, materials meaning makeup and like yasifying her. <v Speaker 2>Lip filler face just looks different. It's not just the <v Speaker 2>lighting thing. It looks like the AI advertisement. <v Speaker 4>Right, It's just it's like AI doing it, Like, Okay, <v Speaker 4>that's what AI decides Grace's face is going to look <v Speaker 4>like in that frame, and in that scene. I could <v Speaker 4>decide it looks a different way in different scenes, in <v Speaker 4>different frames. Uh. Weird. <v Speaker 5>Even if they even if they fix those flaws though, <v Speaker 5>because that's like, you know, that's an issue, but that's <v Speaker 5>not my fundamental issue. My fundamental issue is I want <v Speaker 5>that character to look like Grace period. Uh and and <v Speaker 5>and she just doesn't she looks different? There are you know, <v Speaker 5>there are There was an example of like Assassin's Creed <v Speaker 5>where they kind of had a big landscape and you know, <v Speaker 5>the lighting looked improved in the landscape, Like there's some <v Speaker 5>merit to the technology when it comes to that stuff. <v Speaker 5>I just don't, you know, there's question marks about like <v Speaker 5>is this the artist intent or whatever. I just think <v Speaker 5>it mostly looks because I've begin I've been getting an <v Speaker 5>eye for like, oh, I can now tell when a <v Speaker 5>character is AI or like an Instagram account that comes <v Speaker 5>across my feet like that that's an AI lady, And <v Speaker 5>I just can tell in a half a second now, <v Speaker 5>and it has that sort of plasticy look. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 2>All these characters, the Harry Potter ones especially had the <v Speaker 2>most AI. Yes. So I I like this feels like <v Speaker 2>it is something separate from the whole idea of what <v Speaker 2>DLSS was supposed to be machine learning to improve frame <v Speaker 2>rate and resolution, and now we are getting this extra <v Speaker 2>shit on top that. Of course that this is where <v Speaker 2>they were headed. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 2>But there's been a lot of backlash and people have <v Speaker 2>been getting very like sort of vocal about this at <v Speaker 2>Nvidia and sort of anyone kind of covering it as well. <v Speaker 2>You want to hear from developers for sure. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I also want to uh so were they using <v Speaker 3>the words uhi? <v Speaker 2>We were they using the word materials all along? <v Speaker 3>Because I'm I feel like the stuff I saw in <v Speaker 3>the beginning was everyone's saying like, oh no, they're just <v Speaker 3>it's all lighting obviously that that can't be true, right right? <v Speaker 2>I think so. I think they were using photo photo, <v Speaker 2>real lighting and materials. I think it's exactly how they phrased. <v Speaker 1>It, you know. <v Speaker 2>I guess my biggest fear of this sort of stuff <v Speaker 2>is like the normies will will might like it, and <v Speaker 2>then oh god, yeah, there's a certain type of dude <v Speaker 2>that equates good graphics with these football players and cars <v Speaker 2>look real, you know, Like I think we've all met <v Speaker 2>those guys. It's like the guy when I was reviewing <v Speaker 2>Okami that thought the graphics were trash because it didn't <v Speaker 2>look like a real dog. It's like those people super <v Speaker 2>exist and they happen to be very loud on the internet, <v Speaker 2>and it's right. <v Speaker 4>I mean, it is fun even with this, like you <v Speaker 4>will you know, and it's mostly people online in like <v Speaker 4>the kind of video game bubble A bit beyond it <v Speaker 4>talking about all those looks. But then you'll see the <v Speaker 4>one person like, I'm really confused, this looks more realistic. <v Speaker 4>Why don't people like this? Like how you just do <v Speaker 4>you not see it? And you know you don't feel <v Speaker 4>just kind of naturally weird out by it? But what <v Speaker 4>I hate a about this or what's bothering me? <v Speaker 2>Uh? <v Speaker 4>At the top of all the other reasons why it sucks, <v Speaker 4>It's like every time every time I say AI is bad, <v Speaker 4>there's somebody wants to be like, wow, but it's good <v Speaker 4>for this and that, and I'd be like, Okay, I <v Speaker 4>guess I like frame generation, and yeah, I think it's <v Speaker 4>neat that. <v Speaker 2>That's machine learning. There is a difference exactly, but. <v Speaker 4>It's like okay, yeah, d oss, I guess that stuff <v Speaker 4>seems fine. And then you know, then this is where <v Speaker 4>that ends up as well, right, Like it can't just <v Speaker 4>stop at doing the pretty nice thing. Now we are <v Speaker 4>yasifying freaking video game characters so they look like they're <v Speaker 4>selling freaking Vogue or something. <v Speaker 2>There's like the magazine, Oh. <v Speaker 1>You also have royalties on that. <v Speaker 5>This does feel like an overarching filter just applied in <v Speaker 5>the way that AI has been applied everywhere where. It's <v Speaker 5>like we built this thing and now we have now <v Speaker 5>we can stop doing work and it'll just do the <v Speaker 5>work for us. And that's very different than like, you know, <v Speaker 5>fifteen years ago, I'd being made Watson and Watch and <v Speaker 5>very became quickly became and that was a machine learning <v Speaker 5>to It was experts like we're going to make this <v Speaker 5>thing so that it can understand natural language, but then <v Speaker 5>we're going to specify it for certain tasks using experts <v Speaker 5>so that it becomes as good as human oncologists at <v Speaker 5>detecting cancer. And then it became better, and it's like, Okay, <v Speaker 5>that is a useful thing. That is experts in a <v Speaker 5>field knowing what they need, the data that they need <v Speaker 5>to train this model on so that it can do <v Speaker 5>this thing, and they're trying to get a certain result. <v Speaker 5>The idea of the generalized AI come in in here <v Speaker 5>and applying these things. That's like, okay, that's so many <v Speaker 5>steps removed from the people I want making my games. <v Speaker 5>How much control are the artists going to have? And <v Speaker 5>I guess that leads to Bethesda, who is one of <v Speaker 5>the studios where like this is all great and everyone's <v Speaker 5>like okay, even if these characters do look more realistic, <v Speaker 5>we want the artist to have a say, and they <v Speaker 5>claim that that's still going to be the case. Nvidia <v Speaker 5>announced the LSS five and image enhancement blah blah blah. <v Speaker 5>The announcement has faced criticism from some players and industry <v Speaker 5>professionals who see it as an unwanted fielder that drastically <v Speaker 5>altered a game's original art direction. Following backlash, particularly using <v Speaker 5>after using Starfield as a demo, but those the game <v Speaker 5>studios sought to quell concerns, assuring players the developers will <v Speaker 5>have full control over tuning the effect and the feat <v Speaker 5>and that the feature will be entirely optional video claims. <v Speaker 5>In Vidia claims developers can adjust intensity, color, and masking <v Speaker 5>to maintain a game's unique aesthetic. So okay, I that's <v Speaker 5>I still I'm a little skeptical that that's how it's <v Speaker 5>gonna end up being used, because the whole idea is <v Speaker 5>just flip a switch and you get all these improved things. <v Speaker 5>But hopefully developers can't get in there and get what <v Speaker 5>they want out of this, And then I really want <v Speaker 5>the ability to like pick and choose what I'm getting <v Speaker 5>when I turn on DLSS, because at this point, it's like, <v Speaker 5>this does feel like something different. Should have been a <v Speaker 5>filter off to the side, and Vidia has a lot <v Speaker 5>of weird filters and the and their tools that no <v Speaker 5>one ever uses. Just group it up with that stuff <v Speaker 5>and lead the LSS out of it, which has been <v Speaker 5>actually pretty impressive technology. <v Speaker 2>One of the things that bugs me the most in <v Speaker 2>all of the examples that they've shown is, you know, <v Speaker 2>a lot of it is just with the faces right <v Speaker 2>and talking about like. <v Speaker 1>Oh, photography and games like we're bringing it to a <v Speaker 1>different level, but the lighting that they're showing is completely <v Speaker 1>unnatural and not respective to the actual scenes that we're <v Speaker 1>seeing in any of these games. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, even I think in like that initial press release <v Speaker 4>or whatever from Nvidia talking about it, they're still using <v Speaker 4>that fucking language of like, now we are creating graphics <v Speaker 4>of fidelity previously only seen. <v Speaker 2>In holy works. <v Speaker 4>Like this fucking weird insecure boner that this industry still <v Speaker 4>has for Hollywood visual effects, which often aren't even that <v Speaker 4>good anymore. Right, It's just you're always been baffling to meet. <v Speaker 3>The worst kind of boner you could have is that's insecure. <v Speaker 3>But I think, look, you know, I'm not here to <v Speaker 3>champion any of these things. <v Speaker 2>You know that stuff especially for post production in uh, <v Speaker 2>you know, film and TV. It's common. Uh. Like I said, <v Speaker 2>at the GDC, all the AI panels were full. Yeah <v Speaker 2>really yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. There was huge audiences for <v Speaker 2>like I think I had, like the biggest audience seemed <v Speaker 2>to be for one of the Google AI things. So <v Speaker 2>did you see the clip of the co pilot. I <v Speaker 2>don't know if it was GDC, but the way like <v Speaker 2>copilot would be an Xbox or whatever, there was ye <v Speaker 2>word the voice, We're like, tell me how to get <v Speaker 2>these gems and diabloads, like hey, I can see on <v Speaker 2>your screen here you're doing this. It's like people been <v Speaker 2>testing that and there was a report like thirty percent <v Speaker 2>of people just use that to chat to the AI <v Speaker 2>while they're playing a game. It was that was it? <v Speaker 4>God, that's the dopian? Uh Is it true that you <v Speaker 4>like for them running this right now? At least they <v Speaker 4>were just using two fifty nineties or something. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>That that's another thing where it's like it's unoptimized right now. <v Speaker 5>So they were using two fifty nineties. They say that <v Speaker 5>when it launches, it'll run on a single graphics card. Yeah, <v Speaker 5>I will see what that actually ends up looking like. <v Speaker 4>It could be bad it Just like again, who was <v Speaker 4>playing Resident Evil nine on max setting? Thinking this didn't <v Speaker 4>look good enough? <v Speaker 2>Anyways? <v Speaker 4>In I mean, I know why this is what Nvidia <v Speaker 4>is emphasizing on because they are now an AI company, <v Speaker 4>that's what they do. But this, this is what we <v Speaker 4>don't need post process filter. We don't need to do <v Speaker 4>it in post with residual nine. The game looks good. <v Speaker 4>We don't need higher fidelity and. <v Speaker 2>Need improvements. It's great, it's perfect as it is. <v Speaker 1>Near proct What is this supposed to be able to <v Speaker 1>do then with like a more stylized game, right, Like <v Speaker 1>you know, that's the. <v Speaker 5>Big concern for me is is this going to make <v Speaker 5>everything look the same, because it like, uh, that's like <v Speaker 5>those Instagram fake ladies. <v Speaker 2>They all look the same. <v Speaker 5>They all have the same things, like across the board <v Speaker 5>they have almost the only time we say that yes, right, <v Speaker 5>and it's like it's oh, there's a one idea of <v Speaker 5>what this this technology has about what looks good. So <v Speaker 5>when you say, hey, make my ship look good, this <v Speaker 5>is what it's going to output. And so when we <v Speaker 5>have a stylized game. Is it just going to make <v Speaker 5>that look more realistic as well? <v Speaker 4>What is it going to look like when it shows <v Speaker 4>a monster from residueval not just you know, well, I <v Speaker 4>you know, the AI knows what a pretty lady looks <v Speaker 4>like apparently. <v Speaker 2>Or like what characters from like The Last of Us <v Speaker 2>that aren't super stylized, you. <v Speaker 4>Know, right, it's going to look stupid and that we <v Speaker 4>should just be continuing to make things more efficient. Let's <v Speaker 4>find ways to make these graphs cards cheaper. Maybe let's <v Speaker 4>do things about the ram shorts, and instead we get <v Speaker 4>fucking AI lip filler. <v Speaker 3>Yep, I think like, uh, you know, I I try <v Speaker 3>and you know, just like trying and understand the sort <v Speaker 3>of like the steps here and like you know, and <v Speaker 3>and and you know, all right, so they show off <v Speaker 3>this this footage in the most like extreme way possible, <v Speaker 3>right like, they show off the technology rather in the <v Speaker 3>most extreme way possible, and nearly universe everyone is just <v Speaker 3>like well, like you know, up chuck reflex right like, <v Speaker 3>and I I just it makes me wonder like, all right, <v Speaker 3>what does it wind up actually looking like? <v Speaker 2>Right? And I want to and look like. <v Speaker 4>Like it or not. <v Speaker 2>We're gonna find out. <v Speaker 3>And I think, you know, I think the thing that <v Speaker 3>I hope there is a really tangible carve out for <v Speaker 3>is that there is such a an agency on the <v Speaker 3>developer end to kind of like steer this in a <v Speaker 3>way that they want right at. <v Speaker 5>The likely scenario here is this stuff actually doesn't play <v Speaker 5>out this way, and it does become an optional thing <v Speaker 5>that most people don't use, and it's like two percent <v Speaker 5>of people actually turn this shit on. <v Speaker 2>That's very likely. <v Speaker 4>Because you know it's going to be the next motion <v Speaker 4>smoothing on TVs right, yes. <v Speaker 3>Exactly, well, which which everywhere you go, everywhere you go <v Speaker 3>is universally switched on. <v Speaker 2>So I don't know what to tell you. My TV <v Speaker 2>turns it back on by itself about every or so. Great. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>like the TV will like auto update and then I'll <v Speaker 2>go into the clarity oppositely, you isn't that that's weird? Okay, <v Speaker 2>it's a you know, bad TV. <v Speaker 5>Uh, all right, let's keep going here. Switch To finally <v Speaker 5>lets you play switch one games in doc mode while <v Speaker 5>playing on handheld, so kind of a. <v Speaker 2>Boost mode here. <v Speaker 5>The switch To has received a system update that adds <v Speaker 5>the highly requested handheld mode boost setting. This new feature <v Speaker 5>allows original Switch games to run in the high powered <v Speaker 5>ten ADP DOC mode even when playing on switch to <v Speaker 5>in handheld mode, so the switch to has a ten <v Speaker 5>ADP screen. All the games in handheld mode on Switch <v Speaker 5>one that have not had switched to versions are almost <v Speaker 5>all locked to seven to twenty P, so they were <v Speaker 5>kind of spreading those pixels over there, so it looked <v Speaker 5>a little fuzzy, a little soft. This should make the <v Speaker 5>image look quite a bit crisper because it's all these <v Speaker 5>all these games were also made to run at ten <v Speaker 5>ADP for TVs, so it should just fit natively on there. <v Speaker 2>This is a very smart thing to do. It's cool. <v Speaker 5>They should have had this from the beginning, but yes, <v Speaker 5>it's cool. Glad they're doing it now. There should also <v Speaker 5>be like extra power there for some games that had <v Speaker 5>higher frame rates when it was in doc mode or <v Speaker 5>something like that. <v Speaker 2>So this is great. <v Speaker 4>It's the kind of thing you almost don't expect Nintendo <v Speaker 4>to do. So that they did do this, I'm like, yay, you. <v Speaker 2>Remember Nintendo, And like I feel like it was like <v Speaker 2>two years into the Switch ones life cycle and they're like, hey, <v Speaker 2>we did an update. It's got Bluetooth now. I told <v Speaker 2>her them. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they just like I guess they just like unlocked it. <v Speaker 3>I mean, obviously the radio is there. <v Speaker 5>Let me ask you, the PlayStation five and Xbox Series X, <v Speaker 5>do those support Bluetooth headsets because I know the PlayStation <v Speaker 5>four didn't, like you switch like, I don't know, but <v Speaker 5>a stuff. <v Speaker 2>When you do, like the official Sony headsets and stuff <v Speaker 2>like the Elite Pulse and all that stuff in the earbuds, <v Speaker 2>they all have a dongle. Yeah, they have a dongle, right, yes, yeah, <v Speaker 2>so I don't know. Can you just attached bluetooth because <v Speaker 2>PS three had bluetooth? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, people saying yeah, so I'm I'm ninety percent sure. <v Speaker 3>Like more newer Xbox controllers can LARP as Bluetooth controllers. <v Speaker 2>Yeah that's true. Yes, but they also connect that they <v Speaker 2>connect using their own protocol on the Xbox though or whatever. <v Speaker 2>Yeah all right, yeah, either way. It was like, Bluetooth <v Speaker 2>is a weird thing. That was. <v Speaker 5>It was odd when Nintendo did add that, especially because <v Speaker 5>the other consoles didn't have it. So yeah, uh, Nintendo, <v Speaker 5>you know, kind of being smart here. We'll see how <v Speaker 5>this actually ends up looking, but it sounds like it <v Speaker 5>should work the. <v Speaker 4>Way some people tapping like like METROI Primary Master looks <v Speaker 4>no better or something like dread. Oh that's not as much, right, Okay, <v Speaker 4>so yeah, I'll be curious. I'll be curious to see <v Speaker 4>to test this out, but I bet I probably am <v Speaker 4>not going to know that much of difference. Like the <v Speaker 4>seven twenty to ten eighty resolution thing has never been <v Speaker 4>one that's been super stood out to me. Maybe a <v Speaker 4>little blurriness if you put them side by side, and. <v Speaker 5>It's a little bit more blurring the switch to situation <v Speaker 5>just because that's a ten ADP screen and interpolating it <v Speaker 5>from seven to twenty so the pixels don't line up perfectly. <v Speaker 2>That adds a little bit of that softness. But even then, <v Speaker 2>you're right, most people are not going to notice. <v Speaker 4>My first thought was the Marvelrus Capcom collection right, which <v Speaker 4>is a switch one game right version of that. <v Speaker 2>Let's see what that looks like. <v Speaker 5>Uh, this just happened. Io Interactive in Mind's eye Studio <v Speaker 5>be a Rocket Boy, or as it's affectionately called BARB <v Speaker 5>officially end Partnership hit Man Crossover DLC to be scrapped. <v Speaker 2>What am I gonna do? <v Speaker 4>Like it rock Boy instead of build a rocket. Blay <v Speaker 4>by the way, that's more aspirational. <v Speaker 2>I like, Bill, it's built a rocket boy. You're right. Yeah. <v Speaker 5>Anyway, it sounds like that partnership did not work out <v Speaker 5>and they are done and they're not gonna do that <v Speaker 5>DLC or whatever. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, yeah game, yeah, would have destroyed Hitmen. <v Speaker 4>That's gonna be one of the. <v Speaker 2>Whenever there's like a conference or something where it was like, oh, <v Speaker 2>we're showing off like a new Hitman thing and we're <v Speaker 2>showing off minds. I like, like share the stage and <v Speaker 2>I'm sorry Hitman. People don't serve this, the hard working <v Speaker 2>people that made hit Man up there on stage. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, boy, It's gonna be one of the all time <v Speaker 4>what ifs and video games? Right, what if what if <v Speaker 4>Sony did make the PlayStation for Nintendo? <v Speaker 2>Uh? <v Speaker 4>What if Atari released the ne e s? What if <v Speaker 4>we did get the Hitman mind's eye collaboration. <v Speaker 5>I'm and really, we don't get this because of saboteurs <v Speaker 5>and corporate espionage and spotes. It was they infiltrated, They <v Speaker 5>infiltrated Io Interactive and that got to him. <v Speaker 2>Now you said the word saboteur, and I really I've <v Speaker 2>been hankering to play the Sabotage. <v Speaker 5>I want to play the Saboteur and I want to <v Speaker 5>I want to personally in my life exchange the code <v Speaker 5>for the nipple DLC. <v Speaker 2>I want to go because I didn't it on Steam <v Speaker 2>and I did the adjustments to where it can run <v Speaker 2>like you know, it can run great on on Steam <v Speaker 2>and it just has the nipple mode in. <v Speaker 4>The options code for I don't know about nipple DLC <v Speaker 4>for Saboteur, so. <v Speaker 5>On the on the on the consoles, like if it <v Speaker 5>was part of their ten dollars past thing where it's <v Speaker 5>like you can you can buy this game and then <v Speaker 5>you can ext change this DLC to get the tassels <v Speaker 5>off the boobs for some of the characters that are <v Speaker 5>dancers in It's shit, It's a game about me. <v Speaker 2>I did started to test it and just starting like <v Speaker 2>a speakeasy where it's like they're singing and just girl <v Speaker 2>on stage full boobs of like every woman in the <v Speaker 2>crowd is all booby. <v Speaker 5>The idea was, so when you go to sell this <v Speaker 5>game used and so someone buys the game, now they <v Speaker 5>have a reason to give you ten dollars because they're <v Speaker 5>gonna want to see the nipples. Who's gonna play this game? <v Speaker 5>And ten dollars to see the nipples? So we do <v Speaker 5>any without the nips? <v Speaker 2>I play this game. Yeah, it's interesting, don't want to <v Speaker 2>go back. And it was pandemic. They did a fucking <v Speaker 2>mercenaries and yeah, what a full spectrum warrior right there. Yeah, like, <v Speaker 2>I think this deserves a look. <v Speaker 4>During the pandemic and I, I guess I just started <v Speaker 4>imagining a man alone in his apartment playing saboteur buying <v Speaker 4>Nipple DC while having a conversation with co pilot about <v Speaker 4>his feelings or something, and I got pretty sad. <v Speaker 2>Well, a real man, you mean, Yeah, I think it's <v Speaker 2>worth a look. I want to play it. <v Speaker 5>I had a friend who played it and he seemed <v Speaker 5>to quite like it at the time, and I always <v Speaker 5>meant to go back to it. <v Speaker 2>I should. <v Speaker 5>Starfield is finally coming to PS five next month, alongside <v Speaker 5>new content and PS five Pro support. It's going to <v Speaker 5>launch let's see here for fifty dollars for the standard edition. <v Speaker 5>The deluxe edition will be sixty five dollars. The Xbox <v Speaker 5>and PC versions have received an immediate price cut to <v Speaker 5>match this pricing. The PS five version will support the <v Speaker 5>PS five Pro with both a performance mode and visual mode. <v Speaker 5>It will have two new content pieces, Terran Armada and <v Speaker 5>Free Lanes, which will also launch in April. Taran Armada <v Speaker 5>is a paid DLC of ten dollars, introducing new characters, locations, <v Speaker 5>enemy's quest and rewards. Free Lanes is a free update <v Speaker 5>for all players, adding highly requested InterPlaNet interplanetary travel, new encounters, <v Speaker 5>points of interest, dungeons, a new land vehicle called the <v Speaker 5>Moon Jumper, and a new crew member, Miria. <v Speaker 4>I want to say something maybe controversial here. I don't <v Speaker 4>think STARFORLD was very good. <v Speaker 2>Oh shit, you can't just say that. I agree with Mike. <v Speaker 2>It was pretty bad. <v Speaker 4>It was, I thought, yeah, a shockingly boring game for <v Speaker 4>a game where you can like make spaceships and travel <v Speaker 4>and actual galaxy. <v Speaker 2>Does any of this. Yeahs it's on PlayStation now, so <v Speaker 2>Greg Miller can do play through his thirty seven. I <v Speaker 2>think he was well the one out there like like <v Speaker 2>seeing this stuff first, they know their boy. I think <v Speaker 2>Le was posting about like I just finished my sixth <v Speaker 2>playthrough of Starfield. The are you talking? Apparently it gets <v Speaker 2>weird on the on the reprist. Yeah, yeah, but I <v Speaker 2>just didn't care about the game. What do you think <v Speaker 2>this doesn't PlayStation? <v Speaker 1>Like? <v Speaker 4>Does this even sell a million copies on PlayStation? Okay, <v Speaker 4>so many games, yes, But a lot of the complaints <v Speaker 4>like they sound like they are doing something about it. <v Speaker 4>A vehicle to explore the world, added like the points <v Speaker 4>of interest. I would like to be interested in any <v Speaker 4>point on one of those Starfield planets because I just <v Speaker 4>like when I would land, that's interplanetary travel. Is something <v Speaker 4>where it's like that would have been a nice to have. <v Speaker 4>That was not why I didn't like the game as <v Speaker 4>much as I wanted to. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 5>I guess I will see what this added content is. <v Speaker 5>I think I have little faith that it's going to <v Speaker 5>address the problems I have with it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. Word is boring. That's that's the word of a <v Speaker 2>boring game. <v Speaker 4>Just boring, unremarkable. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, turns out Space is fucking boring, guys. I mean, <v Speaker 2>look at what no Man Sky pulled it off. You <v Speaker 2>know they had a rough. <v Speaker 4>And I'm sorry like it if your big plot twist <v Speaker 4>is a multiverse slop, I just have a hard time <v Speaker 4>getting excited about that. Yeah, what if there's a world <v Speaker 4>where you had red hair instead of black. <v Speaker 5>Well, yeah, like I could see like once you get <v Speaker 5>into that, like exploring the possibilities, but you're right like <v Speaker 5>as a concept, like like presenting that to me, I'm like, I'm. <v Speaker 2>Just not interested. We've seen it fifty times recently, so <v Speaker 2>all right. <v Speaker 5>PS five PROS Major Pisser update is rolling out to <v Speaker 5>more games this week, with Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven to follow. <v Speaker 5>This did launch with Resident Will Requiem I Believe, and <v Speaker 5>now they are adding Let's see here, Monster Hunter, Wilde, <v Speaker 5>Silent Hilth, Final, Fantasy seven Rebirth, Allen Wake two, Control, <v Speaker 5>Dragon Age, The Vail Guard, Dragon's Dogma two, Neo three, <v Speaker 5>Rise of the Ronin I forgot about that game, Sinua's <v Speaker 5>Saga I Never knew how to say her name. Help <v Speaker 5>A two and Silent Hill two Crimson Desert will support <v Speaker 5>it at launch on March nineteenth, and Assassin's Creed Shadows <v Speaker 5>in Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven will receive patches in the <v Speaker 5>coming weeks. To reminder, this is the upgraded image upscaling <v Speaker 5>tech where it's like they used the old version of <v Speaker 5>AI upscaling or machine learning upscaling, and now they have <v Speaker 5>the new version of that that's been powering DLSS for <v Speaker 5>the last few years and recently powered FSR from AMD. <v Speaker 2>So this should make. <v Speaker 5>PlayStation five pro games that all already looked pretty good. <v Speaker 5>Even crisper is the word they keep using that PS <v Speaker 5>five pros expensive. I think all the work they can <v Speaker 5>do to make people feel like it's worth their money <v Speaker 5>is probably a good thing. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, and even like I don't have a pro, I'm <v Speaker 4>probably not getting a pro. But they like, you know, <v Speaker 4>hearing this, like ooh, people seem to actually like this <v Speaker 4>technology and the idea of like going back to Fompha <v Speaker 4>seven Rebirth, which kind of was, you know, pretty blurry <v Speaker 4>looking on a base PlayStation five, and I know it <v Speaker 4>already looks better on the pro. Oh it's gonna look <v Speaker 4>that much better. Really, that's kind of interesting. Could move <v Speaker 4>the needle for some people. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, But hearing all of this and all these improvements <v Speaker 1>in people being pleased like, oh cool, my PS five <v Speaker 1>pros delivering just makes the idea of a PS six <v Speaker 1>less and less appealing. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I think this is part of them like trying to <v Speaker 5>like set the groundwork for what a PS six, what <v Speaker 5>text PS six will eventually use. But it's, uh, you're right, <v Speaker 5>this is already a point where this is very expensive <v Speaker 5>and it's gonna make games look very good. <v Speaker 2>And are they gonna can they look that much better <v Speaker 2>and justify an even higher costs for more impressive hardware. <v Speaker 2>It's it's tough. <v Speaker 1>What do you think the general populace would be more <v Speaker 1>okay with a PS six or a revision to the <v Speaker 1>PS five PRO. <v Speaker 2>I think we're gonna get a little. <v Speaker 4>Bit of both, Like, yeah, I mean, I do think <v Speaker 4>you get the norm he's excited with that six. Unfortunately, <v Speaker 4>I think definitely got to do the number. <v Speaker 2>But I think there's a cheaper version that is basically <v Speaker 2>a newer PS five. They will probably put a six <v Speaker 2>on that as well, though. Right now it is pretty <v Speaker 2>rare where it's like I've got the Pro and like <v Speaker 2>I remember Yote was one where it's like, okay, this <v Speaker 2>this is noticing dark game better on the Pro. But <v Speaker 2>then it's like Ari Requiem where it's like, you know, <v Speaker 2>I played all that on the Pro and I've watched <v Speaker 2>a ton of Bianca playet and it's like, looks pretty <v Speaker 2>fucking good on both mm yeah, yeah, I can't tell <v Speaker 2>the difference. <v Speaker 5>A lot of times there's like select games, especially from Sony, <v Speaker 5>that seem to really take advantage of the pro but <v Speaker 5>not not across the board. <v Speaker 2>Mm hm uh. <v Speaker 5>Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salmon's EGDC firm has acquired <v Speaker 5>five percent of Capcom. Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salmon, <v Speaker 5>through his investment firms, has acquired an additional five point <v Speaker 5>zero three percent stake in Capcom with the Electronic Gaming <v Speaker 5>Development Company, a subsidiary of the MISC Foundation. This is <v Speaker 5>separate from a five percent steak acquired by the nation's <v Speaker 5>public investment fund in twenty twenty two. <v Speaker 2>The EGDC, which. <v Speaker 5>Also gained a gain full control of S and K <v Speaker 5>in twenty twenty two, reportedly made the acquisition as a <v Speaker 5>pure investment. This is the latest in a series of <v Speaker 5>global video game investments by Saudi Arabia. It's also planning <v Speaker 5>a fifty five billion dollar acquisition of Electronic Arts by <v Speaker 5>mid twenty twenty six. So a couple thanks here. This <v Speaker 5>is you know, PIFF is the one where it's like <v Speaker 5>they do seem to stand off a little bit more. <v Speaker 5>It is Saudi money still, but it's not necessarily People <v Speaker 5>always like, are they going to take control and control <v Speaker 5>the content? There are things that are illegal in Saudi Arabia? <v Speaker 5>Will we not see those in certain games? <v Speaker 2>So much? <v Speaker 5>And that that has not manifested itself, whereas meanwhile, the <v Speaker 5>EGDC and it's ownership of S and K has been like, <v Speaker 5>let's put uh NB NBS's best friends into this video game. <v Speaker 5>Let's put Christiano Cristiano Ronaldo in there, and that DJ and. <v Speaker 2>A DJ he likes. Yes, yeah, so cool. That was <v Speaker 2>a guy that NBS personally life like that. Yes, yes, <v Speaker 2>oh yes, let's just put that. We're going, Jesus Christ. <v Speaker 2>This is like when he wanted Yokazuna for that one. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>Well it's you know, we were just glazing up Capcom <v Speaker 4>a lot because I'll go their games has been and <v Speaker 4>this is this and you know the fact that they <v Speaker 4>were pretty happy participants in all that d Oss five stuff. <v Speaker 4>It's like, boy, that could turn around in any moment, <v Speaker 4>huh they get you know, It's it's always just two <v Speaker 4>steps away from a company having a golden era to <v Speaker 4>being in uh the shitter again. And I hope that <v Speaker 4>this isn't a sign of that happening, but boy, it's concerning. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, this is uh, like, you know, these are publicly <v Speaker 5>very available shares. He could just go out and buy these. <v Speaker 5>Sounds like that's exactly what he did. But yeah, this <v Speaker 5>is the guy that has his journalist killed and has <v Speaker 5>done other awful stuff. So it's never one of those <v Speaker 5>things where it's like, oh, great, now I. <v Speaker 2>Feel good about this. I feel pretty bad about it. <v Speaker 2>This is a shitty thing to see, all right, So <v Speaker 2>let's get to the rest of these stories here. Just <v Speaker 2>a couple of more. <v Speaker 5>As it passes six million sales, Capcom officially confirms Resident <v Speaker 5>Evil Requiem is the series's fastest selling game. Basically, that's <v Speaker 5>the story. We kind of had a hunch on that <v Speaker 5>when there was the number of five million in like <v Speaker 5>four days or something like that. This is now six <v Speaker 5>million in a week's time. Yes, a little bit more <v Speaker 5>than that, but they basically just came out and said, yes, <v Speaker 5>this is the fastest selling Resident Evil game, which will <v Speaker 5>make it one of its fastest selling games period. It <v Speaker 5>should rushed about ten million copies sold by the end <v Speaker 5>of the year pretty easily if it's already at six million, <v Speaker 5>and the word of mouth has continued to be very good, <v Speaker 5>so Capcom a smart investment if you have the money <v Speaker 5>to throw around, because it does feel like they are <v Speaker 5>going to keep capitalizing on the success and do we <v Speaker 5>and more of it, like going from this into launching <v Speaker 5>a new one with Pragmata, which if it does hit <v Speaker 5>the way that you know these demos have hit, could <v Speaker 5>really set the company up for a strong couple of <v Speaker 5>years now where they have you know, successful, well known <v Speaker 5>properties and new games popping off as well. That's gonna <v Speaker 5>be something investors like to see, you know. <v Speaker 2>And another thing I noticed about Requiem that it does <v Speaker 2>so well last night was that like everything being so <v Speaker 2>shitty now, and I specifically think about like that two <v Speaker 2>K twenty six that are you quit? Look Yeahward's like <v Speaker 2>everything is like no matter if you spend one hundred <v Speaker 2>fifty bucks, here's a bunch of other give you give <v Speaker 2>us money, give us money, give us money stuff. Is <v Speaker 2>that like when Bonk beat Requiem last night, you know, <v Speaker 2>it's like, hey, you've unlocked all this stuff now you <v Speaker 2>can like you get enough of completion points and you <v Speaker 2>can get this gun there or there's a knife that <v Speaker 2>never breaks and stuff, and it's like there's none of <v Speaker 2>it was micro transaction stuff. It was just like, hey, <v Speaker 2>you have the game, here's a bunch of cool shit <v Speaker 2>you can unlock now to kind of keep it going. <v Speaker 2>Like that was refreshed. I mean, that's how things just <v Speaker 2>used to be. All that used to me. You're so <v Speaker 2>used to seeing it monetized now. <v Speaker 4>Right, So, and I think, you know, the last best <v Speaker 4>selling Residevil game was just Resume before remake, So the <v Speaker 4>last one. I wonder if this momentum is going to <v Speaker 4>continue with the next one, because presumably that's a remake <v Speaker 4>of either Zero or Code Veronica, which are both games <v Speaker 4>that you know, they weren't the best selling Residuval games <v Speaker 4>in their original forms, right, so it. <v Speaker 5>Will be the best It won't be the fastest selling, <v Speaker 5>but I bet those games will do extremely well. <v Speaker 2>Like that's is that what you think? Yeah? <v Speaker 4>Okay, yeah, exactly, Like I bet that. You know, it's <v Speaker 4>not going to be like the next new best selling one, <v Speaker 4>but yeah, I think people are just going to be <v Speaker 4>so excited for whatever the next big Residue will release <v Speaker 4>is at this point going forward, Uh breaking. <v Speaker 2>News about to say, I was about to I was <v Speaker 2>about to ask, this is very exciting. <v Speaker 5>Uh So the super Mario Galaxy Movie on on Twitter <v Speaker 5>has posted something. Now I'm double checking it's verified. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's real, it's real, it's real verified. <v Speaker 5>Uh well it's it's the golden verified where it's like, oh, <v Speaker 5>it's it belongs to a business account. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's it. That's different the only real one, right, yes, yeah, <v Speaker 2>the fake one were you buy. Of course that means <v Speaker 2>nothing that that is not this. <v Speaker 5>So this is the Super Mario Galaxy Movie account as <v Speaker 5>a ten second video that they posted saying, hey, get <v Speaker 5>ready to watch the movie on April first, it's coming <v Speaker 5>to theaters. And the ten second video is just a <v Speaker 5>blast of very fast clips of the various characters in <v Speaker 5>the movie. And if you let it play, it goes <v Speaker 5>very fast. But if you have a keen eye, which <v Speaker 5>I think most of the people in our audience, most <v Speaker 5>of the people on this podcast might have, around the <v Speaker 5>six second mark, you're gonna see Pickman a yellow, red <v Speaker 5>and blue pin which like, of course they they're probably <v Speaker 5>just gonna pop up in the movie, as as the <v Speaker 5>sirster riggs. Yeah, but it does suggest the possibility of <v Speaker 5>a wider Nintendo universe, right, this is the. <v Speaker 2>First step of that. <v Speaker 4>I mean, you know, Rob is in this thing also, <v Speaker 4>and there have been really yeah, and there have been <v Speaker 4>people who have eagle eyed perhaps seeing things like is <v Speaker 4>that mister Gamon watch or even is that Fox McCleod <v Speaker 4>standing to the side there. <v Speaker 2>I mean, they are. <v Speaker 4>Going to want to build up to a Smash Brother <v Speaker 4>this movie. <v Speaker 2>That's what they want to do. Yes, Mouser looks awesome. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, there's even other things like oh, seeing Pianta's is cool. <v Speaker 2>Like ward Ward looks awesome. Wow, this is this is <v Speaker 2>pretty good. Whatever was the crab boss in uh In two? Oh? Awesome? Sorry, <v Speaker 2>there's claw Yeah it looks great and it's claw something right, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>I don't remember claw grip, claw grip mouse claw grip. <v Speaker 2>Have not seen Fry Guy yet. Love Fry Guy, I <v Speaker 2>believe Love. I'm gonna I'm going to play Mario two tonight, <v Speaker 2>like cause you see everyone should Brothers so good. <v Speaker 4>Don't use the skips. It's always fun to use the <v Speaker 4>potions to do the skips. <v Speaker 2>You got it. <v Speaker 4>You can't do it if you want to see Mouser. Hey, Jeff, <v Speaker 4>If they do want to do the Spash Bros. Thing, <v Speaker 4>is it like gonna be weird at all for them? <v Speaker 4>That like Sony is making uh Zelda while Universal is <v Speaker 4>doing this, or you think Nintendo is kind of prepped <v Speaker 4>all this in the I think they believed. <v Speaker 5>Yes, that will be well understood, like uh, like having <v Speaker 5>spent any time with lawyers at this point, you know <v Speaker 5>that the they would like ask all those questions like <v Speaker 5>is there anything you want to protect? And they Nintendo <v Speaker 5>would be very keen on making sure that they could <v Speaker 5>do a Smash Brothers movie with Link. <v Speaker 2>If they wanted to. <v Speaker 5>In fact, in fact, I bet they could do a <v Speaker 5>Link a Zelda animated film if they wanted to, still <v Speaker 5>while Sony's making the live action one. <v Speaker 1>So I'm sure if they has a lot of leeway <v Speaker 1>if they were to do like a Smash movie, I <v Speaker 1>feel like they would go with like a tune Link movie. <v Speaker 4>Well, I mean, I bet it would be this Link <v Speaker 4>and he just kind of when he enters this world <v Speaker 4>through whatever master hand grabs him, he becomes a cartoon character. <v Speaker 2>So I only, oh, oh, I wouldn't expect that. Now. <v Speaker 5>I would expect the live action Zelda to be its <v Speaker 5>own thing, and then there is a Zelda animated version <v Speaker 5>that exists a parallel to this world like that. <v Speaker 1>But sorry, go ahead, Jane, but we would see John <v Speaker 1>Legazamo is Luigi in the movie, right, Charlie Day. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know, just put there just yeah, of course, <v Speaker 2>put the past and Smash Brothers. See. <v Speaker 4>I feel like it's got to be. I feel like <v Speaker 4>that's got to be the one. I think there's one. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. <v Speaker 5>I feel like I think if you're if your original <v Speaker 5>question was like, would that cause a headache for that <v Speaker 5>specific link, I think yes, it would actually do. <v Speaker 2>Two links and have one of them be like a <v Speaker 2>scrappy though, you know, have length like a baby. <v Speaker 4>But like imagine, like, let's imagine that that Zella movie <v Speaker 4>is a giant, giant hit. They're gonna wint that link. <v Speaker 5>If it's a giant, if it's a massive hit, I <v Speaker 5>bet everyone involved gets it figured out. But I don't <v Speaker 5>think Nintendo ever wants to have to ask Sony for <v Speaker 5>permission to do anything with that character. <v Speaker 4>And I don't know if that. <v Speaker 2>Would be accounted for in the language, because that's the thing. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>that would be a little bit more difficult. We'll see. <v Speaker 5>I think this clearly suggests that they are building towards <v Speaker 5>Smash Brothers, which I think is the thing we all <v Speaker 5>assumed if you're doing this movie universe. Eventually you get <v Speaker 5>to that point and it sounds like they're kind. <v Speaker 4>Of head I just hope they're not doing like, you know, <v Speaker 4>the thing that that the DC movies did were like <v Speaker 4>the third movie was Justice League or something. <v Speaker 2>Time to build up. I don't I don't mean this <v Speaker 2>to be me. <v Speaker 4>I'm excited for this. <v Speaker 2>I'm not happy. I just I think, I just I <v Speaker 2>what's wrong with me? I can't get excited, you know, <v Speaker 2>I can't. The original movie was kind of mediocre, like bad. <v Speaker 3>The original movie is pretty pretty stupid, right, I'm not upset. <v Speaker 2>I saw it and I'll see this too, But what's <v Speaker 2>what's what's wrong? Like like we've seen Easter eggs. <v Speaker 5>If that's not going to get you excited about this movie, <v Speaker 5>nothing's going to get you excited about this movie. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but that's but I guess that's what I give normal. <v Speaker 2>It's just a Where's Waldo? Yes, right? <v Speaker 4>Yeah? I like Where's Wado sometimes though, Yes, if I <v Speaker 4>was playing Where's Waldo? <v Speaker 2>And I saw characters from punch Out Good Books, the <v Speaker 2>funniest thing anyone's ever said about the Yeah that got <v Speaker 2>me you good reads? <v Speaker 3>You know before I open my mouth just now. I <v Speaker 3>said it in my head, and I'm like, should I <v Speaker 3>say this out loud? And then truth people chatter agreeing <v Speaker 3>with you, by the way, like yeah, it's. <v Speaker 4>Fine, immis to be excited about the where's wado aspect <v Speaker 4>of these movies. But it's all we got. <v Speaker 3>It's all this My comment is not a criticism on <v Speaker 3>your enthusiasm at all, Like I wish I could feel that. <v Speaker 2>I guess like they've been interested in seeing this movie. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, we talked about this like a couple of weeks ago. <v Speaker 3>He's just sort of like, oh, that's coming out cool, right, <v Speaker 3>my kids very much like we cannot wait to go <v Speaker 3>see this. So that really helps like flame my excitement. <v Speaker 3>And then I look for something to be excited about, <v Speaker 3>and it's like, oh, I'll get to see Mouser, which <v Speaker 3>is not something likes Mouster's my boy. Like I'm I'm psyched, <v Speaker 3>like we got a lot in common. <v Speaker 2>I relate. I get it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I just And and then when when I was thinking, <v Speaker 3>I was like, oh, man, is there something in this <v Speaker 3>world that would do for me what perhaps it is <v Speaker 3>doing for many Maybe No, again, that is that is <v Speaker 3>a terrible thing have a very complicated relationship with me lately. <v Speaker 4>It's a pinball machine for like a franchise that you're <v Speaker 4>really excited about. <v Speaker 3>You get excited, right, yeah, yeah, I mean like I <v Speaker 3>wanted to get that Beetlejuice pinball, but like that came <v Speaker 3>and went and it's like, all right, I'll guess I'll <v Speaker 3>just find it in the wild and like, yes, yeah, <v Speaker 3>my least favorite Safty brother God damn it. <v Speaker 2>I like to eat. <v Speaker 4>The Eagles wrote a song about this. You're you're losing <v Speaker 4>all your highs and lows and funny how the feeling goes. <v Speaker 2>You get excited about, Like you go to a restaurant <v Speaker 2>you like and the meal comes out. How do you <v Speaker 2>feel about that? When they put the plate down? You're hungry? <v Speaker 2>And I definitely like going out to eat, for sure, <v Speaker 2>I'm a big going out. You get excited about like <v Speaker 2>when the food arrives, excited, like and I started going <v Speaker 2>just say yippe or anything. <v Speaker 1>But you know, you ever like smell a pie and <v Speaker 1>then you start floating and moving towards the actual pie. <v Speaker 2>Gross or the weekend's coming up and you got some <v Speaker 2>fun plans right now. That doesn't do it for me. Anymore. <v Speaker 2>I think it. <v Speaker 3>I think when I get through the hockey rink, I <v Speaker 3>get a little excited. When I smell the Zamboni exhaust, <v Speaker 3>they get a little sure. <v Speaker 4>I mean that's something in general with getting older, is <v Speaker 4>like you don't reach those super high It's like I <v Speaker 4>sometimes just think about, man, nothing has ever felt better <v Speaker 4>than being a kid. And it's the first, like day <v Speaker 4>of summer. You just got out of school, right, it's <v Speaker 4>the last day of school. That was the best feeling. Sorry, Flower, <v Speaker 4>the best feeling ever. <v Speaker 2>I don't even know. Glad you didn't see his dumb <v Speaker 2>ass face in this trailer. Yeah, I got excited when <v Speaker 2>this motherfucker showed up at my door like twenty times <v Speaker 2>a day. No, I know that. <v Speaker 1>I know that. <v Speaker 2>You know I get it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, No, I think like there's yeah, but Mike, the <v Speaker 3>things you're describing are like are like moments of uh no, <v Speaker 3>moment of like childhood wonder right, Yeah, Like, oh, there's <v Speaker 3>nothing better than like coming home on a Friday. There's <v Speaker 3>nothing better than like no homework. There's nothing better than, <v Speaker 3>you know, finding out you have some sort of assembly <v Speaker 3>surprise or something like that. <v Speaker 2>This guy, again, this is not a call for help. <v Speaker 2>I'm just I just want to talk a. <v Speaker 4>Normal I mean, it's even like with me, like there <v Speaker 4>was a time where I would look forward to specific <v Speaker 4>games so much that I would literally just be buzzing, <v Speaker 4>and like even like going to get the game would <v Speaker 4>be the most exciting thing. Maybe part is just the <v Speaker 4>way I get games often now, which is a code <v Speaker 4>in my email and. <v Speaker 2>Right, But it's not like, oh my. <v Speaker 4>God, I just got the code for the new resime. <v Speaker 4>Oh my god. <v Speaker 2>No, that's Dan for sure. But I think like I'm <v Speaker 2>bouncing around the house all the time telling Bunk how <v Speaker 2>excited I am about everything. <v Speaker 3>I think, Yeah, like if they did like a BioShock <v Speaker 3>again that I could really get excited about, which is <v Speaker 3>been so long. <v Speaker 2>There'll be a big daddy in the Mario movie. <v Speaker 1>Yeah right, all right now, I mean Bowser is a <v Speaker 1>big daddy. <v Speaker 2>He's not the exact one I'm looking for. Yeah. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>well but look, resid Eevil did it for me for sure, <v Speaker 2>so I guess I. <v Speaker 1>Think maybe, Uh, the video game industry hasn't been serving <v Speaker 1>Jeff Backler food lately, you know, like you just think <v Speaker 1>you're you're at like the Revolving Sushi place and none <v Speaker 1>of the roles you're speaking to you, you know, yeah, <v Speaker 1>like I'll eat them all exactly. <v Speaker 2>None of them are like giving me the feelies exactly. <v Speaker 1>You're waiting for like the BioShock plate to roll around, <v Speaker 1>or yeah, the spook plate. <v Speaker 5>And it's weird back because it's so easy to be <v Speaker 5>happy in this world right now that it's just it <v Speaker 5>does speak to a failure review. I think, yeah, because <v Speaker 5>everyone's walking around so cheerful all the time right now. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I do seem to be on the opposite <v Speaker 2>end of that, the one outlier, one voice of dissent. Weird. <v Speaker 1>Okay, hey, when's the last time you skipped? <v Speaker 5>You might hurt yourself. Careful, I've not skipped in a while. <v Speaker 5>Jan Yeah, I'm gonna go out there. I'm gonna see <v Speaker 5>if that helps me because Jeff's gonna be up broke <v Speaker 5>my ankle. <v Speaker 3>I got I take it back. There was a moment <v Speaker 3>two weeks ago when my new hockey sticks came in. <v Speaker 3>There were flylights and I was really excited. <v Speaker 2>There. <v Speaker 1>Okay, there you go. So you know, maybe like maybe <v Speaker 1>streamers will start to do this. Instead of like a <v Speaker 1>hydration check or standing check, we'll do a whimsy check. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, <v Speaker 1>like when if I send all y'all confetti or glitter <v Speaker 1>and then when it's the whimsy check, I'm just like, yeah, <v Speaker 1>I can't. <v Speaker 2>Again the card poppers to meet and I'll handle it <v Speaker 2>for ye Sorry, I'll be excited at don't don't don't, <v Speaker 2>don't hold that thought up. Don't come to packs and <v Speaker 2>be like I'm gonna see fucking Jeff. Just know I'm <v Speaker 2>gonna be That might be what the people want. <v Speaker 5>It's never around, but I think backlars seem like a <v Speaker 5>good mood, like when we're hanging out. <v Speaker 2>I got that guy. <v Speaker 1>I can show you a cartwheel in person. I learned <v Speaker 1>how to do one recently. <v Speaker 2>Could you do a handless cartwheel one of those around? <v Speaker 2>Of course not. I just learned how to do it <v Speaker 2>with two a ns you wants, you have a couple <v Speaker 2>of weeks, but get it. Learned. This guy, this guy <v Speaker 2>putting our chat here, the little wooden guy. I'm trying <v Speaker 2>to like place him to see from likes. I think <v Speaker 2>he's from steam Gardens and oh yeah yeah wooded Kingdom <v Speaker 2>of Odyssey right with a really good guitar track guitar. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm not recognizing the I believe that the snail <v Speaker 3>with a mustache. <v Speaker 2>Who's that is that? As cargoon? There's a straight up <v Speaker 2>snail with the Yeah, who is blackjack dealer? Koopa? <v Speaker 4>I think so. In the trailer the area with all <v Speaker 4>of the Mario two stuff looks like a casino, So <v Speaker 4>I think he's going to be from that. <v Speaker 2>They're going to camp. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think that snow was he from the lake <v Speaker 4>or the beach Kingdom? <v Speaker 2>And honestly, it. <v Speaker 3>Sure's a lot of in this Oh yeah, well that <v Speaker 3>makes sense. I think the Odyssey is the is the <v Speaker 3>newest one? <v Speaker 4>Right? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? But what everything's the Mario? H they are? They're <v Speaker 2>plating everything, that's for sure. Yeah, there's a ton of <v Speaker 2>stuff here. <v Speaker 1>I'm excited. How excited Brie Larson is to be a <v Speaker 1>part of this movie. <v Speaker 2>She's infections? <v Speaker 4>Does she still have her freaking stupid NFT profile picture <v Speaker 4>on X I haven't looked in a long time. <v Speaker 2>I don't know the embarrassing Yeah, shy guy was in <v Speaker 2>the first one. Why are they making it? <v Speaker 1>Is this? <v Speaker 2>Right? Look? Someone is Mario? <v Speaker 1>Right? <v Speaker 2>I mean guy is one of the few that escaped <v Speaker 2>Mario two purgatory and got into the wider market, like <v Speaker 2>Shy Guy. To a lesser extent, Sniffet and Hokey have <v Speaker 2>been popping up and other things. Outside did pretty well <v Speaker 2>playable character in some games. Yeah, but the rest of <v Speaker 2>like Burder is a mini boss, all the like actual bosses, <v Speaker 2>the Mousers, the fry guys and stuff, never really is <v Speaker 2>especially Warren. You know, war is huge. It's a big deal. Yes, <v Speaker 2>I cannot believe we're getting Warton in this movie. <v Speaker 1>Louise use such a good Have we seen the bird <v Speaker 1>doors in any other Mario game? <v Speaker 2>No, those guys are fucked. I love those bird doors. <v Speaker 2>Some of them are evil though, and they're like I <v Speaker 2>learned to not trust them because like one of them <v Speaker 2>comes flying off and it's you. It's like you can <v Speaker 2>never trust the end of the level. It's like it's <v Speaker 2>a flagpole like bird doors. Okay, those things right? <v Speaker 4>Well yeah maybe that maybe. I bet there's a good <v Speaker 4>chance that the entrance to this casino that has all <v Speaker 4>the Mario two stuff is going to kind of look. <v Speaker 2>Like that bird the entrance or the exit. Yeah, the <v Speaker 2>way they get entered, the way they get out. Someone <v Speaker 2>makes a good point. Bob Omb came from two and <v Speaker 2>they were already part of the cannon and three. You know, <v Speaker 2>they're all over the area. Probably was in two. <v Speaker 4>First, I kind of forget that that's what Obama was there. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you can hop on it. Yeah it's in the <v Speaker 2>but it's in the Bob Hoskins movie. <v Speaker 4>About the game two. Yeah, yeah, but that's right. You <v Speaker 4>know what, I liked the finale of that movie. I <v Speaker 4>thought it was fun with the bomb kind of going <v Speaker 4>around the long lay Me too. <v Speaker 2>Had it is? Yeah, I enjoy it. Uh, the Maaya <v Speaker 2>statue with the sunglasses. I love that guy. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, we have the We do have the the robot <v Speaker 4>like Maids from Galaxy as well. <v Speaker 2>Yes, we should make Clunker guys, they should make a <v Speaker 2>Warrior Weare movie. Yeah, that's just like I think you <v Speaker 2>should leave Sketch. That's like the Steve Jobs movie where <v Speaker 2>he's just like getting his team to make him video <v Speaker 2>games or something like that and in a whip. <v Speaker 5>All right, last couple of stories here. Kope is doing <v Speaker 5>very well. Two point two million copies sold in the <v Speaker 5>first four days. Yeah, this is it is like one <v Speaker 5>of the fastest selling or I think it's the fastest <v Speaker 5>selling Pokemon spinoff by far. And it sounds like it's <v Speaker 5>just getting started. I think the comparison point that people <v Speaker 5>made was there was a similar game that launched at <v Speaker 5>this point in the switch Ones lifetime that went on <v Speaker 5>to sell like thirty million copies or something like that. <v Speaker 2>So this is going to do very very well if <v Speaker 2>it has if it follows anything close to what Animal <v Speaker 2>Crossing did, which it could. What what happened when? Why <v Speaker 2>did people yell about getting a new Pokemon Snap for <v Speaker 2>like fifteen years and then they got it and no <v Speaker 2>one ever talked about it? <v Speaker 4>I feel bad about that personally, actually, Dan, it was right, Yeah, <v Speaker 4>I never I never touched it, and I was one <v Speaker 4>of these people like, mak no Pokemon Snap. Then they did. <v Speaker 2>I was like, I have no time for this. <v Speaker 1>I think a lot of people just love the idea <v Speaker 1>of a Pokemon Snap and forget that it is an <v Speaker 1>on rails game. <v Speaker 2>It's not you're living in the past. Just not. <v Speaker 4>And then okay, like that, sorry, like to give your <v Speaker 4>idea of how well this one's doing. That game sold <v Speaker 4>like maybe a couple million copies New Pokey over its lifetime, <v Speaker 4>so this is probably already sold more than that, yeah, <v Speaker 4>or well on its way for sure. <v Speaker 5>Microsoft reveals next gen console details, something that happened at <v Speaker 5>GDC as well. Although it's a lot of stuff we <v Speaker 5>kind of were exupecting. It's Project Helix. That is a <v Speaker 5>Helix as in it's bringing together the PC and console side. <v Speaker 5>The console Xbox stuff will be backward compatible. It is <v Speaker 5>going to be a PC though, so it'll be able <v Speaker 5>to play PC games, you'll be able to get other stores. <v Speaker 5>They are getting an AMD custom system on a chip. <v Speaker 5>It's going to have next gen ray tracing performance. They're <v Speaker 5>really focused on the upscaling stuff, very similar to the <v Speaker 5>things that are happening on PS five pro right now, <v Speaker 5>but there'll be even better implementation, and they're like an <v Speaker 5>order of magnitude performance improvement to the ray tracing. That's <v Speaker 5>still sort of their big focus in the buzzword category, <v Speaker 5>where they're like, how do we make this thing exciting? <v Speaker 5>And you know, I think that they are weaning themselves <v Speaker 5>off of consoles with this thing where it's like, let's <v Speaker 5>try to make something that it's okay if it only <v Speaker 5>sells fifteen million units, because how do you get people <v Speaker 5>excited about spending one thousand dollars on something that has <v Speaker 5>better ray tracing? No one cares about that, Like they <v Speaker 5>just the vast majority of people do not get They're like, <v Speaker 5>they think their games already look very good, and what <v Speaker 5>is the difference. <v Speaker 2>What do they get from ray tracing a little bit <v Speaker 2>better lighting? It's not going to move the needle. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>they at the very least, though, are out there making <v Speaker 2>the gestures and gestures and talking about this in a <v Speaker 2>way where it's like, this feels like they're building up <v Speaker 2>to a new console launch, just like they always have. <v Speaker 2>So they're presenting themselves as taking it very seriously. How <v Speaker 2>do you guys feel about this at this point after <v Speaker 2>like they try to make it feel a little bit <v Speaker 2>more real with these conversations around GDC. Yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 1>They don't have the most confidence, especially just talking about <v Speaker 1>newer generations of consoles when I feel like I haven't <v Speaker 1>gotten the most out of this one. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, let's actually do this one last story. I didn't <v Speaker 2>mean to put this on the rundown and just forgot. <v Speaker 2>Yeah the Sumnautica thing, you see this, Yeah you can <v Speaker 2>do that. Yeah, well apparently you can't do it. <v Speaker 5>So the Sonnautica devs made sub Nautica two and they <v Speaker 5>were about to release it. One little wrinkle there is <v Speaker 5>that in the meantime while they were making that game, <v Speaker 5>they got acquired by Crafton and craft It's like, Hey, <v Speaker 5>if that game comes out and does really well and <v Speaker 5>meets this threshold, we're going to give you guys at <v Speaker 5>this studio a two hundred and fifty million dollar bonus <v Speaker 5>that you could distribute throughout the studio, with a big <v Speaker 5>portion of that going to the executives. The game was <v Speaker 5>certainly going to meet that threshold. All the numbers internally said, <v Speaker 5>this game is coming together, it's basically finished. I'll say <v Speaker 5>that I heard that it was finished from people who <v Speaker 5>were involved in the game and that it was looking good. <v Speaker 5>And then suddenly the executives at the studio got fired, <v Speaker 5>and everyone's like, wait, what's going on here? Like oh, <v Speaker 5>because they're dragging their feet and not getting the game done. <v Speaker 5>It's like, no, the game's done and ready to go, <v Speaker 5>So what's really going on Here's apparently what happened. The <v Speaker 5>guy at Crafton the CEO was like, I don't want <v Speaker 5>to pay. <v Speaker 2>Two hundred and fifty million dollars to these people, even <v Speaker 2>though they're going to do exactly what I asked them <v Speaker 2>to do to get that bonus. <v Speaker 5>Hey, lawyers, what can we do to get out of it? <v Speaker 5>And the lawyers are like, nothing, you're gonna have to <v Speaker 5>pay this. So he went to his other lawyer chat <v Speaker 5>GPT and said, Hey, what can I do to not <v Speaker 5>pay two hundred and fifty million dollars and chat you <v Speaker 5>He's like, don't worry about I got this. Just claim <v Speaker 5>that they did that and fire him. And the lawyers <v Speaker 5>are like, oh, wait, what are you about to do. Please, <v Speaker 5>for the love of God, don't do that. That's super <v Speaker 5>not legal. You're gonna get in a lot of trouble. <v Speaker 5>The guy trusted chat GPT instead and did exactly what <v Speaker 5>it told him to do. Fired those guys, made public <v Speaker 5>statements about their lack of quality or whatever, and a <v Speaker 5>judge has asked that guy to reinstate the head of <v Speaker 5>that studio because he illegally fired them and broke the contract. <v Speaker 5>He's gonna have to pay two hundred and fifty million <v Speaker 5>dollars and all that just buffoon behavior, really baffling stuff. <v Speaker 1>Just when you think you've heard it all, backler, can <v Speaker 1>ask you for a favor? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? Can you hit me with a dumb bitch O? <v Speaker 2>Mass bitch. Yeah, how you earned that? For sure? This <v Speaker 2>is Uh, that's it. That's that is that is on <v Speaker 2>a level I was unaware we could achieve. <v Speaker 4>It's it's staggering in its depths of newness. <v Speaker 5>Uh yeah, really just baffling behavior that anyone in charge <v Speaker 5>of anything could, Like you pay lawyers for a reason, <v Speaker 5>but you really you really believe GBT that much? <v Speaker 2>Oh you shouldn't. Uh and here's the proof of why <v Speaker 2>you shouldn't. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, but it's it is the most staggering thing, <v Speaker 3>but also like simultaneously the most believable thing. <v Speaker 2>It's not surprising. <v Speaker 5>Like if you, if you like get to talk to <v Speaker 5>any of these guys in those kind of positions, a <v Speaker 5>lot of them. <v Speaker 3>Totally completely drunk with their position of authority and have <v Speaker 3>no qualms about, you know, just doing the most obscene <v Speaker 3>and depraved bullshit. <v Speaker 2>Known to man. <v Speaker 5>Wow, Sonata is probably gonna long launch and like have <v Speaker 5>one of It's gonna be one of those stories where <v Speaker 5>it's like, oh yeah, eighty thousand to one hundred and <v Speaker 5>fifty thousand people are concurrently playing this on Steam on launch. <v Speaker 4>It's similar to like that Slay the Spire thing, or <v Speaker 4>like Haitie's like that first game is just become one <v Speaker 4>of the cannon Steam games, right. So many people played <v Speaker 4>some Nataka, and so many people are going to be <v Speaker 4>there busting down the door to play some Nautica too. <v Speaker 3>But I need I'm gonna need a quote from the <v Speaker 3>CEO guy for the back of the box on chat EPT. <v Speaker 3>I'm gonna need this ringing endorsement of like if it <v Speaker 3>weren't for this thing, I'm gonna need that. <v Speaker 5>I Like, I have people in my life that use <v Speaker 5>chat GPT as like a search engine, and I'm I'm <v Speaker 5>not gonna get on your case about that. Anytime it <v Speaker 5>involves any spending real money or real time doing anything, <v Speaker 5>you better be double checking. You better be like doing <v Speaker 5>actual like read a book as well, maybe instead of <v Speaker 5>just chat GPT. <v Speaker 3>I think I've said this on one of our shows before, <v Speaker 3>but I am overwhelmed with friends, normally friends particularly who <v Speaker 3>will not shut up about how much time and of <v Speaker 3>their job this stuff does for them. And I almost <v Speaker 3>immediately follow up that offering with my friend, I think <v Speaker 3>you might need to be looking for another job. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you got to keep that shit quiet, bro, Yeah <v Speaker 2>I would. <v Speaker 3>I would tell nobody about this. I don't you are <v Speaker 3>self reporting in a way that inevitably will lead to <v Speaker 3>your unemployment. I yeah, yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. And then Chad is bringing up something <v Speaker 2>we should mention real quick. I have not seen much <v Speaker 2>of this. <v Speaker 5>People are getting very very excited about Alex in Street <v Speaker 5>Fighter six, like very you know, excited to Kenny Omega, <v Speaker 5>do work to make this character extra hot? <v Speaker 2>Is that what Meg was the he's the guy? Yes, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>so I guess he had hot movements. Perhaps that's what <v Speaker 2>I'm getting, like, yeah, did he thrust and gyrate? And <v Speaker 2>everyone's very excited about that. <v Speaker 7>I think he mostly just did his like point at <v Speaker 7>people thing a lot that he likes to do. It <v Speaker 7>is very good. He's a good pointer that Kenny Omegan. Oh, Alex, <v Speaker 7>I might want to try that now, I do hate that. <v Speaker 7>I'm like, do I want to buy him on my <v Speaker 7>switch to version or my PC version? <v Speaker 4>I don't know, probably switching. <v Speaker 5>Alex married his cousin? What sorry, the story came out <v Speaker 5>and Alex's story mode that he married his cousin. Who's <v Speaker 5>his cousin? <v Speaker 2>Where's Alex from New York? <v Speaker 4>He's he's New York City guy, I believe. Wow, could <v Speaker 4>I don't familiar question? Yeah, Alex Street Fighter cousin Google. <v Speaker 2>And she's pregnant. Oh cool. So I'm starting to say <v Speaker 2>this is just fulfilling some slash fic Mike, No, h hey, <v Speaker 2>that's the news. Back over to Chin. <v Speaker 4>Have fun with that, bud Cool. <v Speaker 1>I feel like I need to send some concerned emails. <v Speaker 2>I'm not clicking that blue Skylin KWin No, no way, <v Speaker 2>that's scared. I'll do it. Keep that shit to yourself. <v Speaker 1>We're gonna fad to black just for safety's sake, and <v Speaker 1>we'll be back with emails. <v Speaker 2>These are the emails for the show. Emails. <v Speaker 1>Bombcastagiant bomb dot com is the email address to send <v Speaker 1>your emails to eager and write I about any and everything. <v Speaker 1>You need a recommendation, you want a place to go, <v Speaker 1>you got questions about whatever we got you BombCast at <v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com. And once again I've been saying <v Speaker 1>this for the past couple of weeks, perhaps the last month. <v Speaker 1>We've been flooded with fantastic emails. So thank you for <v Speaker 1>sending them in, thank you for writing them in, and <v Speaker 1>apologies if we don't get to them. We only have <v Speaker 1>so much time, and please don't write in explaining the <v Speaker 1>lure of Alex and street Fighter six in intimate detail. <v Speaker 2>There's a great reaction here of Blanca looking at a <v Speaker 2>phone with a very concerned face. It's just that that's <v Speaker 2>how I feel now, Yeah, has a phone. <v Speaker 5>I put the image in our chat here in our <v Speaker 5>GB crew talk if you want to see it, because <v Speaker 5>it's so funny to me. <v Speaker 2>They must go through one, a new one every week. <v Speaker 1>Right, he overcharges it is what happened, right, Mike from <v Speaker 1>Loveland rights in, Hello, esteemed professors of macro bombology. It's <v Speaker 1>my birthday. What are your own favorite, best or worst <v Speaker 1>birthday memories? Whichever makes for a better story. Love the show, <v Speaker 1>Love you all, Mike from Loveland. <v Speaker 4>My friends made a cake out of my head a <v Speaker 4>couple of times. Yeah, yeah, that's true. December for a while. <v Speaker 4>December that Pearl Harbor. <v Speaker 2>Day, Okay, right there after December he celebrates that for <v Speaker 2>a different reason. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, re minds the day that they shot that beatle. <v Speaker 4>Oh okay, yeah, sure. Keep trying to sew those two <v Speaker 4>things together. Let's never separate them. <v Speaker 2>Well, we have a birthday coming up this weekend. Two birthdays. Well, <v Speaker 2>this weekend is Jeffrey Grubb yep, and yours is next week, <v Speaker 2>a week from today, a week from Okay, I was <v Speaker 2>gonna say, I couldn't remember exactly when it was so <v Speaker 2>twenty fourth your days. <v Speaker 3>Apart, gays apart, and well two days in a year, <v Speaker 3>but yees, yeah, yeah, yeah totally that would have been something. <v Speaker 4>Though. <v Speaker 5>I'm excited for our birthdays. We can make everyone celebrate, <v Speaker 5>like mic does oh right, well that come on. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Couple a couple of years ago, I remember it was <v Speaker 3>packs was of yours and then mine. <v Speaker 2>We were out there for it. <v Speaker 3>You did an insane thing with gambling for you, right, <v Speaker 3>and then uh and then I remember the mine. <v Speaker 2>We were all in the in the hotel lobby bar <v Speaker 2>and I we just broke into song. Everyone's saying every birthday. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>That was very yeah, yeah, it was good. It was good. <v Speaker 1>I also remember seeing Happy Birthday to mikey at s <v Speaker 1>NO the Game Awards. Todd Howard is just staring at Mike. <v Speaker 4>Uh huh yeah everyone else, and Todd Howard was like, yeah, busy, <v Speaker 4>he's too busy planning Starfield's next big deal C or <v Speaker 4>something I do. I did, I did, We did work <v Speaker 4>with someone once we was like, why does it always <v Speaker 4>feel like we just make these live things we do <v Speaker 4>at the end of the year, Mikey's birthday, I'm like, it. <v Speaker 2>Just is his birthday. That's how it works out, you know, <v Speaker 2>there's a reason it's the same. When I turned sixteen, <v Speaker 2>it was so the year two thousands, so we're still <v Speaker 2>in like kind of height of like attitude era type doe, <v Speaker 2>and it was still a time where like wrestling wasn't <v Speaker 2>coming to Kansas City that often. I just desperately wanted <v Speaker 2>to go see live wrestling, and my mom said for <v Speaker 2>my birthday she was going to take me to Worlds <v Speaker 2>of Fun. And so me and my friend Charlie got <v Speaker 2>in the car, and World of Fun is like a <v Speaker 2>thirty minute drive from where I grew up, and if <v Speaker 2>you know anything about it, like Missouri Saint Louis is <v Speaker 2>a four hour hour drive across I seventy. So I <v Speaker 2>thought we were going to Worlds of Fun, which thirty minutes, <v Speaker 2>and we got like an hour and a half, two <v Speaker 2>hours into the drive, and my mom was kind of <v Speaker 2>looking over at me being like, hey, Danny, you think <v Speaker 2>you think anything's weird here. I'm like nope, Yeah, doeshing <v Speaker 2>seems out of the ordinary. Was like, no, just excited <v Speaker 2>for the roller coasters, Okay. When we got into Worlds <v Speaker 2>of Fun like thirty times in my life, and I <v Speaker 2>should have remembered that it's not a four hour drive. <v Speaker 2>And eventually we got almost like to like fucking Saint <v Speaker 2>Louis before she was like, we're not going to Worlds <v Speaker 2>of Fun. I got to ringside seats to raw and <v Speaker 2>so I lost my shit. And I remember going to that. <v Speaker 2>We got checked into the hotel and it was pretty <v Speaker 2>high up and had a big glass window, and I <v Speaker 2>did a swanton bomb from one bed to the other hell, <v Speaker 2>and I the momentum, I bounced off and like slammed <v Speaker 2>hard into the window, and I was like, man, I <v Speaker 2>almost died in the dumbest fucking white box. <v Speaker 5>God, that's incredible, Dan, This story is like it's impress <v Speaker 5>of like how oblivious you could be. <v Speaker 2>But it's like this is not even the most oblivious <v Speaker 2>you've been. Right, Where is there a color story where <v Speaker 2>you were like on a plane and you're like, oh, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I was eight for that one. But I'm like, okay, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>that's a little more understanding. My mom fucking with me. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, but that was a good birthday. <v Speaker 3>How long do you think you'd survive if it was <v Speaker 3>like seventeen forty and they would like, say, any skill <v Speaker 3>I place? <v Speaker 2>I think I think I'm very skilled at certain things. <v Speaker 2>None of them would apply before nineteen seventy. <v Speaker 3>Well, just like I guess as soon as they decided <v Speaker 3>to have like you know, civil engineering and these sort <v Speaker 3>of like you know, public safety mechanisms in place, I <v Speaker 3>feel like it. <v Speaker 2>Would have offed a lot of people, not just you, damn. <v Speaker 2>Just yeah, I think there are just some natural guard <v Speaker 2>rails in the universe that'd keep me safe. Now, Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I don't think it would happen to the seventeen hundred. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>we let a whole lot of people come through, so <v Speaker 2>it's it's great. Yeah yeah, I'd be superd for my <v Speaker 2>birthday story. I've told it before, but I'll just make <v Speaker 2>a quick version of it. The sort of a little <v Speaker 2>avenger hunt that they set up for me on my <v Speaker 2>fifth birthday where they had the nes waiting for me <v Speaker 2>in the bathroom like under a Hulu. Who couldn't have <v Speaker 2>to be like it's under the rainbow, go find it <v Speaker 2>at the end of the rainbow. <v Speaker 5>So I went off through my house like figuring all <v Speaker 5>all this stuff, and at the end was a Nintendo <v Speaker 5>entertainment system. <v Speaker 2>Oh that's cute. Yeah it was great. Yep in the bathrooms, Yes, <v Speaker 2>he was in the tub. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>All I want for my birthday is I just want <v Speaker 1>to go to the lunch buffet at the Round Table Pizza. <v Speaker 1>I've told this multiple times different significant others, people I've dated, friends, <v Speaker 1>and they don't think I'm serious because they think I'm <v Speaker 1>too much of a fancy lad. <v Speaker 5>Do you even have a birthday? I don't, I think <v Speaker 5>the one. I don't know if we've ever celebrated your birthday. <v Speaker 2>I you know what? <v Speaker 1>I I don't know anymore because no one wants to <v Speaker 1>tell me October eleven, Buniello and I are born a <v Speaker 1>couple of days apart. But all I want I just <v Speaker 1>want to go to the Round Table lunch buffet. Anyway, <v Speaker 1>Moving on, next email comes from Tony in Todd Mordan. Hey, <v Speaker 1>GB curse not real. I don't think it is either, <v Speaker 1>I just Tony. <v Speaker 2>Who the fuck? <v Speaker 1>I just finished watching Digital foundryes bizarre video on DLSS <v Speaker 1>five that puts an Ai yosification filter on top of <v Speaker 1>characters and finds lighting to be more realistic and lifeless. <v Speaker 1>A lot of the comments are rightly shocked and appalled <v Speaker 1>by the blind praise of this, But I feel like <v Speaker 1>the road here was built by gamers wanting to turn <v Speaker 1>off artistic content for clarity. For a decade or so, <v Speaker 1>a certain type of gamer is always asking about the <v Speaker 1>citizen Kane of games, but also wants patches and mods <v Speaker 1>to turn off chromatic aberration and depth the field. <v Speaker 2>Do we deserve this? We pave the car park. <v Speaker 1>The DLSS five wants every game to take place in <v Speaker 1>all the best Tony and Todd Morden. <v Speaker 4>I like the idea that this is Jeff Greb's fault. <v Speaker 2>Actually, yeah, I know that's what we're getting at, right, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it's the moderns fault. <v Speaker 5>Yes, video games are software. I think it's intrinsic to <v Speaker 5>the to the platform, to the medium. It's like anything <v Speaker 5>that software can be modified, and we've been doing that <v Speaker 5>from day one. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that has been a part. <v Speaker 5>Like Miss pac Man was a mod that was some <v Speaker 5>dudes in America being like, we want to make this <v Speaker 5>game more difficult and better, and then uh namco Right, <v Speaker 5>that's a Nampco thing. They're we're gonna we'll buy that <v Speaker 5>from you and then we'll distribute it. But it was <v Speaker 5>owned jointly by these people that that moded it for forever, <v Speaker 5>so that it's intrinsic to the to the medium. <v Speaker 4>So so. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, right, well so if it's intrinsic, though, I think <v Speaker 3>maybe the question is more, is it like just the evolution? <v Speaker 5>I think yes, I think it's messy, right, like evolution <v Speaker 5>where we're going to try a bunch of different stuff, <v Speaker 5>and mods have sort of solidified and become a known <v Speaker 5>quantity so that we know what to expect from those. <v Speaker 5>So that does sort of shake us all that much anymore. <v Speaker 5>When people try to yes fy things through mods, that's like, <v Speaker 5>that's just those weirdos doing their thing over there, whereas <v Speaker 5>this is like, oh, codifying, it feels different. <v Speaker 4>It's it's it is kind of I personally never like it. Like, <v Speaker 4>you know, Starfield, which was not a great looking game, <v Speaker 4>like one of its most popular mods right away was <v Speaker 4>better faces, And I'm like, I don't know, maybe they're better, <v Speaker 4>but I'm just look, I'm gonna give I'm gonna use <v Speaker 4>the faces they give me. I remember there was that <v Speaker 4>Half Life to remake, and that was one where I <v Speaker 4>saw some people popping out like, well, look a much <v Speaker 4>better it looks, And I thought it looked awful. I <v Speaker 4>you know, they was just making the character models more realistic, <v Speaker 4>but they also looked more lifeless and weird, and. <v Speaker 2>I just I just hated it. <v Speaker 4>So I don't know, and I don't know. I don't <v Speaker 4>know why it's different suddenly if like that publisher who <v Speaker 4>like paid people's like, we updated the visual and that <v Speaker 4>game's remastered. Now, I don't know why that's different to me. <v Speaker 4>Well sometimes even then, like I don't like the way <v Speaker 4>the new Dia s X remastered looks. Honest, I think <v Speaker 4>they're way off the mark of how much they're changing <v Speaker 4>the visuals there. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I mean to think about mods, they're like they're <v Speaker 5>so optional, right, so if you don't like something, then <v Speaker 5>you never have to engage. <v Speaker 2>With that ever, right, All right? Moving on along. <v Speaker 1>This email comes from our own Will Crosby. What this <v Speaker 1>has been sitting in my drafts for seven years, But <v Speaker 1>I was having an argument at work recently and would <v Speaker 1>love your input on the discussion. My coworkers were a <v Speaker 1>guest when I told them that when I eat a <v Speaker 1>burger and fries, I normally eat the entire burger first <v Speaker 1>and then move on to the fries. My reasoning is <v Speaker 1>I want to fill up on the delicious burger I <v Speaker 1>paid for, then eat the side. They claim that you <v Speaker 1>should have bites of the burger with fries intermittently between. So, <v Speaker 1>my duders, do you eat the burger first, switch between both, <v Speaker 1>or are you a monster and eat all the fries first? <v Speaker 2>Will? I don't think about it at all, that's my answer. <v Speaker 1>No, I do. <v Speaker 2>I've thought about this so much, will, And thank you <v Speaker 2>for being brave enough to write in. So here's the <v Speaker 2>thing I think I do disagree, and this is just <v Speaker 2>a personal taste thing. We will if you're just seeing <v Speaker 2>fries as like, oh this side thing, and the burger's <v Speaker 2>the main event for me. When I get like a <v Speaker 2>quarter pounder and some fries, they're kind of equal, like <v Speaker 2>I like them both, so like I kind of do <v Speaker 2>it intermittently in that particular instance. But where I can <v Speaker 2>absolutely relate to you is pizza, because barring something funky <v Speaker 2>and special and gimmicky like a stuffed crust or something <v Speaker 2>where you know, suddenly the crust becomes the main event. <v Speaker 2>I see standard crust as kind of boring, Like I <v Speaker 2>don't dislike it. I eat it for sure, but I <v Speaker 2>will frequently if we're out of the pizza place or something, <v Speaker 2>be left with a plate of crust and everyone's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>are you one of those weirdo kids or that you <v Speaker 2>know you can't eat crust. It's like, no, no, that's <v Speaker 2>not it. But Will's logic applies here. You have a <v Speaker 2>finite amount of space in your stomach, right, we all agree. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, so when you're eating I disagree. Oh here he <v Speaker 6>goes again on that. When you're eating pizza, the best <v Speaker 6>part is the. <v Speaker 2>Pizza with the sauce and the cheese and the toppings <v Speaker 2>and all the good stuff there. So with that finite <v Speaker 2>space in your stomach, I Am always going to want <v Speaker 2>to fill it up with the main event, which is <v Speaker 2>the normal, full on bites of pizza. Get it. Then <v Speaker 2>if at the end of it, if there's no more <v Speaker 2>pizza left and it's just crust, then I'll get to <v Speaker 2>the crust, and you know, there's some extra space in <v Speaker 2>my stomach. Sure, but I'm not going to fill space <v Speaker 2>in my stomach that could be full delicious pizza with <v Speaker 2>just brand. This is just an incredibly long way of <v Speaker 2>you saying I like what I like, and that's it. <v Speaker 2>There's nothing like saying that crust is as good as pizza. <v Speaker 1>Depends on the pizza. <v Speaker 3>It depends on the pizza, which sounds like you're not <v Speaker 3>having a great pizza if you don't. <v Speaker 4>You know, the turbo crust on jets. I'll take that, <v Speaker 4>but I just can't like that's a highlight. <v Speaker 3>But all you're saying out loud is like I'm someone <v Speaker 3>who doesn't favor the crust as much. It's just the preference, right, <v Speaker 3>So that's all it is, like. <v Speaker 2>The crust more than the pizzaza. <v Speaker 3>There's no one going around here eating only crust and <v Speaker 3>leaving the rest of the pizza. <v Speaker 2>There's no one doing that that. There are people that <v Speaker 2>prefer the crust to the pizza. I'm what I'm saying <v Speaker 2>say that, yeah, but that's not what I was getting at. <v Speaker 2>And I'm saying, you like what you like, and that's fine. <v Speaker 2>I like crust. Crust is good, but it's as good <v Speaker 2>as But you're. <v Speaker 3>Just saying what you favor. You're just saying I like <v Speaker 3>the pizza part better. <v Speaker 2>That everyone prefers the pizza to the crust. No, not <v Speaker 2>everyone does, but this is a completely different conversation. <v Speaker 1>I think it's because, like the crust is not aside <v Speaker 1>to the pizza, It's part of the pizza. <v Speaker 2>Look. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I used to get mad when I was a <v Speaker 4>kid because like I was like the kid not eating <v Speaker 4>the crust. And I think it was just to try <v Speaker 4>to shame me, Like everyone be like that's the best part. <v Speaker 4>And I would say, if the crust was the best part, <v Speaker 4>we wouldn't bother putting all that cheese and sauce on <v Speaker 4>the rest of the bread. Like what are you talking <v Speaker 4>about it's the best part, you would just be eating bread. <v Speaker 2>I answer, I just. <v Speaker 5>Don't think about it all that much. And when I <v Speaker 5>get a piece of pizza, I ate the piece of <v Speaker 5>pizza and that includes the crust. And then if I <v Speaker 5>don't have enough room for another piece of pizza, I <v Speaker 5>will live again to have pizza again one day. <v Speaker 2>For pizza. I'm not trying to I'm not trying to <v Speaker 2>optimize my stomach space that way. <v Speaker 8>The thought of that stresses me out, like that is <v Speaker 8>totally I do imagine having those problems. Imagine having those problems. Yeah, <v Speaker 8>I mean what about what's wrong. Here's the question thing wrong? <v Speaker 8>List of course he's wrong. No, no, no, listen, listen, <v Speaker 8>going to say what I'm thinking. Fried foods get worse <v Speaker 8>over time, they just do. They're the best when they're <v Speaker 8>most recently fried. <v Speaker 4>The burger is going to be good for a while <v Speaker 4>until unless until it gets like maybe cold, which is <v Speaker 4>that gonna happen. <v Speaker 2>For a long time? Look fried? <v Speaker 4>Well, yeah, so you want to eat the fries first <v Speaker 4>while they're still good, and then you eat the burger. <v Speaker 4>That is my order of operation there. <v Speaker 2>So so all right, I mean, look, that's fine. <v Speaker 3>I don't know how much fries are like decomposed in <v Speaker 3>quality in in you know, four minutes. <v Speaker 2>But uh, yeah, right, there's there's something deeper here though. <v Speaker 2>It's uh the burger, fries and soda are like a <v Speaker 2>paper rock scissor sort of trifecta thing. Sure where the <v Speaker 2>the grease from the burger and then they all yeah, <v Speaker 2>they all compliment each other and actually make each one <v Speaker 2>taste better as you go in a circle and eat <v Speaker 2>all of them, like they compliment each other in a <v Speaker 2>very fundamental way. The circle of life as circle is <v Speaker 2>talking about a burger and fries meal yes, So it's <v Speaker 2>like you want to, like get if you're trying to <v Speaker 2>maximize something, that's what I would be trying to It <v Speaker 2>is kind of perfect. Just a burger, fries and a soda. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, now, will stop trying to normalize yourself. Then, well <v Speaker 3>you said what you said. <v Speaker 2>No, I think you know. Will. <v Speaker 3>I understand you're just doing like order order of preference <v Speaker 3>in the thing and I and I'm guilty of that too. <v Speaker 3>Like if I have a plate with like six different <v Speaker 3>things on it, I will subconsciously prioritize things and like <v Speaker 3>save stuff. <v Speaker 2>For stuff the best stuff or last. <v Speaker 3>And that's yeah, I kind of do that sometimes too. <v Speaker 3>I'm guilty of that for sure. Okay, sorry, I do Yeah, <v Speaker 3>go ahead, Mike. <v Speaker 2>I'm sorry. <v Speaker 4>Try force make chats like air friars have rendered Mike's <v Speaker 4>point mute. Okay, so I'll just eat the burger first, <v Speaker 4>and before I eat my fries, go to the air fryer. <v Speaker 2>And that's with that for a while. <v Speaker 3>Hey, if this person cares that much about having the hottest, <v Speaker 3>crispiest fries, let them let them cook. I think I <v Speaker 3>like I like having burgers and fries together. I want <v Speaker 3>it together. I like switching off back and forth. <v Speaker 2>It feels good for me. Do whatever you want. Yeah, sure, <v Speaker 2>this is a lunch look. Yeah, he finally did it. <v Speaker 2>He usually did it. Here an actual lunch look video. <v Speaker 1>Oh I'm not an advocate for throwing fries in a burger, <v Speaker 1>but if we're talking to be fast, I'll throw a <v Speaker 1>hash brown in a sausage mcmuff not above us. Sure, <v Speaker 1>juicy Lucy style. <v Speaker 2>You bite the vent holes so you don't get the <v Speaker 2>lava cheese to fuck up your mouth, and then you <v Speaker 2>dip the fries in the vent hole. That's that seems sexual. <v Speaker 2>Bite the tint hole to cool. You can't do a <v Speaker 2>full bite of the juicy lucy when it comes because <v Speaker 2>it was poetry. It will mine mine, it will maim <v Speaker 2>you if you buy a juicy Lucy immediately. So you <v Speaker 2>buy the vent hole and while it's cooling. <v Speaker 1>In there is the juicy lucy. The American equivalent to <v Speaker 1>the soup dumpling. <v Speaker 2>Soup dumpling, Yeah, Mike, what do you think, Mike, you've <v Speaker 2>had one. I mean, I feel like there's got to <v Speaker 2>be something that's closer to being a soup dumpling. This <v Speaker 2>is just what is Yeah, the burger with the cheese <v Speaker 2>is like fried. <v Speaker 4>And now you got me. <v Speaker 2>Okay, whatever, whatever cooking mechanism makes a burger, you do <v Speaker 2>that with the cheese inside the meat? Oh okay, yes, <v Speaker 2>is neat? That's quite a vent hole into my hot pockets. <v Speaker 4>I still I shouldn't this. I still can't believe McDonald's. <v Speaker 4>I don't know what a friar is. <v Speaker 2>I just shot right. It's surprised thing that. But again, <v Speaker 2>they didn't let us fuck with that because I was fourteen. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>it was there another life saving decision for another one <v Speaker 2>of the universes guardrails child. When I was fourteen, I <v Speaker 2>was at AMC McDonald's and they didn't let us use <v Speaker 2>the popcorn popper at fourteen. Remember once I turned fifteen, <v Speaker 2>It's like I've graduated to the popcorn popper. <v Speaker 1>I did not anticipate Will's email inspiring this much discourse. <v Speaker 2>But here we are, Will, Will, I get it. <v Speaker 4>We're not friends anymore, all of us though, because of you, I. <v Speaker 1>Think we'll put in chat. Oh no, my parents are fighting. <v Speaker 2>What is the word for the burgers. It's not fried? <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, right, okay, flame roiled. This is the word <v Speaker 2>like baking cookie. Everyone who seems interchangeable, but also they're not. <v Speaker 2>They they've served specific needs. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, you don't bake a burger ever, No never, I <v Speaker 4>mean you even if you put a and I guess, <v Speaker 4>but you would get no seering or browning. <v Speaker 2>Be a terribleoid to do it. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Seth from Pennsylvania rights and Hello, first long, I'm looking <v Speaker 1>to get a new controller to use on my PC <v Speaker 1>Steam Deck. Should I get an eight bit do Ultimate <v Speaker 1>two or is there another controller you'd recommend? Also, I <v Speaker 1>want to see some type some kind of co op <v Speaker 1>series in GB. Would love to see a run of <v Speaker 1>Nobody Saves the World. Or perhaps I'll look at the <v Speaker 1>Remnant games if y'all haven't played them. Ready for the <v Speaker 1>Ripcord game on Blake Club. Text me when you get home, <v Speaker 1>Seth from PA. Oh, that's sweet, text me when you <v Speaker 1>get home. I get Seth, get your eight bid dough <v Speaker 1>Ultimate two or Pro three. I think they might be <v Speaker 1>on either, and even that have the dock, so you <v Speaker 1>could just set it on there. It's always charged, you <v Speaker 1>take it off. <v Speaker 2>And immediately connects. <v Speaker 5>The dongle is in the dock, so like it's not <v Speaker 5>far away, so you're not gonna go a lot of interference, <v Speaker 5>not that you would have anyhow when you're using the dog, <v Speaker 5>the DOC and the dongle. It could switch the bluetooth <v Speaker 5>if you want to use it on other stuff, So <v Speaker 5>that's handy. Yeah, it's been my go to and I've <v Speaker 5>not felt the need to like move on from it <v Speaker 5>because I've been very happy with using it for a <v Speaker 5>long time. <v Speaker 2>Now, is there? Yeah, go ahead. I was gonna say <v Speaker 2>there's a dream co op thing I want to do <v Speaker 2>long term that I've brought up several times off air, <v Speaker 2>but to do it right, I'd want to do a <v Speaker 2>long lead up to it. <v Speaker 4>But yeah, but I think on that also on that front, <v Speaker 4>stay tuned. <v Speaker 2>Exactly. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, isn't there isn't there <v Speaker 2>a new Uh? Isn't there a new one? Where you <v Speaker 2>can change the the button letters? There's some crazy controls <v Speaker 2>where you can actually I think it's I think but <v Speaker 2>that might be the Pro three. I don't have one. <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I don't have that. Yeah, the Ultimate too. <v Speaker 2>Mm hmmm. <v Speaker 5>If you're playing they're playing on PC, you probably just <v Speaker 5>want the Xbox layout and you can get that from <v Speaker 5>the Ultimate. <v Speaker 1>All right, gang, moving on along. I have pasted pictures <v Speaker 1>into the document here for you guys to look out. <v Speaker 1>Chris writes in simply saying, guys, it happened. I got <v Speaker 1>the mini truck krill here. <v Speaker 2>I like it. <v Speaker 1>Oh God, I want one of these Jimmy jams so bad. <v Speaker 1>All right, moving on and along? <v Speaker 2>Is it electric electrical? Yeah? Electric? Yeah? <v Speaker 1>Mike from Minnesota, it's in hey bombers. Last week he <v Speaker 1>gave some food and drink recommendations to someone traveling to SF. <v Speaker 1>And I'll be traveling to SF in a week. I've <v Speaker 1>been there ten to fifteen times already, so I've done <v Speaker 1>all the touristy things, so I'm curious with local, non <v Speaker 1>tourist things would you would recommend to see or do <v Speaker 1>while I'm there? Thanks for all the years of entertainment. <v Speaker 1>And from a Minnesota resident, Matt's barr is the best, <v Speaker 1>juicy lucy Mike from I've been meaning to do this. <v Speaker 1>I wanted to do this for the folks that were <v Speaker 1>coming in out of town from GDC. I'm just gonna <v Speaker 1>make the end all be all list of shit that <v Speaker 1>I recommend that you see and do here in San <v Speaker 1>Francisco as a as a local and call not Callar <v Speaker 1>Microm Minnesota. You may need to put some brave pants on. <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna ask you to get on bart. I'm gonna <v Speaker 1>tell you to go to Oakland because, let me tell you, <v Speaker 1>fucking love Oakland lately. Tall No go to Tall Boys <v Speaker 1>into Mescal nothing but Martini's Backlar, You'd love it. Nothing <v Speaker 1>but Martini's and hot dogs. This feels like the bar <v Speaker 1>for us guys. <v Speaker 2>They got a macaroni and cheese restaurant in Oakland that <v Speaker 2>I used to go to home Ruiny delicious. <v Speaker 1>Also, they do the thing that I like because you know, <v Speaker 1>it's it's it's been a hot minute since I looked <v Speaker 1>at the clock and seeing that it's shot a clock. <v Speaker 1>But they sell cheeky's over there, which are just a <v Speaker 1>little curated shots, so it'll be like, hey, this is <v Speaker 1>like a Fernette Jack and coke delio and you can <v Speaker 1>just throw that back. <v Speaker 2>That's a smart idea. Hey, hey, Grub, you're good at <v Speaker 2>this type of tinkering stuff. Can you work with me <v Speaker 2>to hack the talk with Flower to just instead of <v Speaker 2>saying it's pre built things, to just randomly say shot <v Speaker 2>a clock. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I've I've already looked into seeing if it's been <v Speaker 5>hacked by anyone. <v Speaker 2>So I'm I'm way ahead of yell. As soon as <v Speaker 2>that gets cracked up and we'll do it. Jane having <v Speaker 2>to take shots and noon because of flower told is <v Speaker 2>very funny. Don't tell me. <v Speaker 1>Last email from UH for the show comes from Marlin <v Speaker 1>and Fargo. Sorry, just stunlocked me thinking about a flower <v Speaker 1>telling me what to do. Hey, gang, A Giant Bomb <v Speaker 1>Fighting game is coming out. The roster is every GB <v Speaker 1>employee past and present. Standard edition is seventy, but the <v Speaker 1>Dude Edition is one hundred dollars. It includes all the <v Speaker 1>DLC consisting of six new fighters from the GB extended family, <v Speaker 1>a handful of new skins for the existing roster, one <v Speaker 1>new announcer. What are you filling those slots with to <v Speaker 1>get me to cough up in extra thirty clams? <v Speaker 2>Peace? Marlin and Fargo. First two come to mind, Dave <v Speaker 2>Lang and Mary Kish. I just thought of Mary. I <v Speaker 2>don't know why Mary should be in a fighting game. <v Speaker 2>Mary would be, you know, the announcer, to be the <v Speaker 2>wind bag, that would be you should put Mike Maharty in, <v Speaker 2>but as a assist trophy. Sure he comes in and <v Speaker 2>just kind of like Michael Skin. Anyone could dresses Mike Maharty, <v Speaker 2>he's a b fighter. Yeah, we should have Nikki. There <v Speaker 2>could there be an echo fighter of me. <v Speaker 4>That's a j Yes, that's good, Okay, I like yeah, <v Speaker 4>Palette swaps, Yeah, exactly. <v Speaker 1>Handful of new skins. I mean there's all the Blanke <v Speaker 1>club skins. I think, guys, we have to follow the trends. <v Speaker 2>We got big. <v Speaker 4>It's just gotta be us and skimpy. <v Speaker 6>Uh. <v Speaker 2>That's what makes the real money. The Omega mo caps <v Speaker 2>all of us. Yeah right, oh, hell yeah. One of <v Speaker 2>us got to bite a bullet and marry our cousin. <v Speaker 4>So who is, right, the hottest cousin? That's an episode title. Yeah, <v Speaker 4>I don't oh man. <v Speaker 2>All right, who's got the hottest cousin? I'll Mary Texas, <v Speaker 2>Samoa Joe. I feel like that would be unfair to <v Speaker 2>everyone else. What's Joe's cousin? <v Speaker 4>Oh, the other. <v Speaker 2>He's very fixated on cousins. <v Speaker 1>Mike, I'm scared now to ask you about super chanes. <v Speaker 1>But folks, that does it off for emails, bombcasta giant <v Speaker 1>bomb dot com email dress. <v Speaker 2>Broadway Taco and Grill is the name of the place <v Speaker 2>in Chinatown. There you go. Everybody, go get your nine <v Speaker 2>dollars burritos. Oh, Alex Boniello could be a guest character. <v Speaker 2>Guest character. <v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, god, the combination. If this is a tag <v Speaker 1>fighter in my head, it's a tag fighter of some <v Speaker 1>Moa Joe and Kayla unstoppable. <v Speaker 2>Oh and if it's like three v three you have <v Speaker 2>Mary Kish as part of that. Just juzzes. <v Speaker 4>All right, we got quite a few here, starting with <v Speaker 4>a Menati. <v Speaker 1>Sorry, hold on one second. It should instead of a <v Speaker 1>fighting game, it should just be like a Sonic Heroes. <v Speaker 1>But you pick your trio. <v Speaker 4>Sure, Yeah, Minate's Fruit and Porium says, any of you <v Speaker 4>noticed the copy of Mega Man eight hidden in the <v Speaker 4>closet and resume will requiem Zombies have good taste, almost <v Speaker 4>as good as our taste and fruit. Oh, I definitely <v Speaker 4>noticed the copy. <v Speaker 2>Of Mega Man eight. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think it was in one of the lockers. <v Speaker 4>There's like a bunch of Capcom games and like I <v Speaker 4>once I noticed or somethings like there better be a <v Speaker 4>Mega Man in here something. Then I noticed Mega Man <v Speaker 4>eight and I was happy. <v Speaker 2>Do you guys find a weskers picture of Rebecca Chambers <v Speaker 2>in the library. Ye sure? <v Speaker 4>Did I mean that that picture was in like original <v Speaker 4>residubal too, even so it keeps showing up. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 4>or at least it was in the remake. I definitely <v Speaker 4>remember it in the remake, even Beatty says Jurf messages <v Speaker 4>ce last week monthly sub on Giant Palm until I die. <v Speaker 4>I'm the same age as you, fifty one, so that <v Speaker 4>might be soon. <v Speaker 2>Love you guys. Oh you're gonna die? Okay, h yeah, <v Speaker 2>everything about that is great, Thank you. Okay. <v Speaker 4>I want to ask you that someone asked, did you <v Speaker 4>see the Tofu in the Raccoon City Police Department? I <v Speaker 4>saw it, and I feel like, I look, it's funny. <v Speaker 4>I feel like that Easter egg was maybe a bit <v Speaker 4>in your face for how ridiculous that was, Like that <v Speaker 4>should not be something that happens on my first playthrough. <v Speaker 2>I heard this from a couple super fans of Ari <v Speaker 2>that I know, and I think that might be you <v Speaker 2>might be taking resid evil too seriously. If that upsets you, <v Speaker 2>you don't set me, but like, explain it to me. <v Speaker 2>So there's a there's an Easter egg where outside a <v Speaker 2>window you see Tofu, who's like a hidden character. From <v Speaker 2>old ass resid Eval games. Okay, he's just kind of <v Speaker 2>like walking around outside the police station and this's a <v Speaker 2>goofy thing that's it's like, what's the problem, It's unrealistic. <v Speaker 2>It's the. <v Speaker 4>Just in a pretty tense part of the game. It <v Speaker 4>just felt like it felt like I got the dog <v Speaker 4>ending in Silent Hill too. It was that levels of <v Speaker 4>silliness and there's a lot of steps I have to <v Speaker 4>do to do that, and just all of a sudden <v Speaker 4>there's Tofu kind of like I saw this Tofu walking <v Speaker 4>around like five times. <v Speaker 2>I think I lean. <v Speaker 4>Towards Dan on this one, where it's like the silliness <v Speaker 4>of Resident Okay, but now on games Set the praising <v Speaker 4>of this for me, like I like the silliness of <v Speaker 4>Resident Evil. This is just a sentient, a block of <v Speaker 4>Tofu very loudly sneaking around during an entire section of <v Speaker 4>the game, Like I get the joke, all right, it's <v Speaker 4>a bit much, I get, Okay, I. <v Speaker 2>I love it. <v Speaker 9>Dan is right, dance right right, oh, thank you every <v Speaker 9>oh never for me, just no suave music saying it <v Speaker 9>says anyone play Resival Guidan On Game Boy Color, he <v Speaker 9>plays Barry looking. <v Speaker 4>Like Chuck Norris, which controls like a golf game. Verbis <v Speaker 4>are by kind of cool, nice pixel art. <v Speaker 2>Love you all. Thanks for the pods. I we did <v Speaker 2>it for for extra life. Yep, that's right. Yeah we <v Speaker 2>can play it. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, I would like to play some more of <v Speaker 4>it someday. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>And I love Barry. I'm a big Barry fan. Bearry's <v Speaker 4>awesome blade Runner, says I'm behind. But thank god for <v Speaker 4>you Grub for highlighting that Dusty Baker invented the high five. <v Speaker 2>I'm here for you, Bud. Yeah. I mean, once I <v Speaker 2>learned that fact, I can't never stop thinking about it. <v Speaker 2>It's like that's that I watched it. <v Speaker 5>That guy managed baseball games in my lifetime. The guy <v Speaker 5>who invented the high five was just walking around the <v Speaker 5>same time as me. <v Speaker 4>That's CRAZYGS Migsy, says Jeff Beckler. <v Speaker 2>Please invite mcmuscles to the Giant Bomb cast. <v Speaker 4>Look, I I've wanted to make contact with Matt mcmuscles <v Speaker 4>or some kind of Giant Bomb content for a while now, <v Speaker 4>and he added me on Blue Sky not too long ago, <v Speaker 4>so that was exciting. So like things are happening there. <v Speaker 4>I think that Matt mcmuscles is a cool dude, Dan, <v Speaker 4>you'll like him. He likes uh like classic professional wrestling, <v Speaker 4>a ton in old video games. I think YouTube would <v Speaker 4>have a lot in the comic talk about. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 4>he's a big fighting game. He's YouTube man. Yeah yeah, <v Speaker 4>he's a YouTube man. But you know he's he's great. <v Speaker 4>He's he's in the I bet iyepatch Wolf and him. <v Speaker 4>I have done stuff for like he's in that orbit <v Speaker 4>I believe, right. <v Speaker 2>Oh so okay, yeah, yeah, he's a cool dude. I <v Speaker 2>want to get I want to get Matt mcmuscles for sure. <v Speaker 4>Uh he does those what happened videos that are those <v Speaker 4>are about his most famous ones, talking about like troubled <v Speaker 4>games or weird games, like how did this happen? All right, <v Speaker 4>Mixey says, tomorrow is blakkert day. <v Speaker 2>Woots. <v Speaker 4>That's right, the blightning round blinked and you'll miss it everybody. <v Speaker 4>In fact, you should get there super early just to <v Speaker 4>make sure you don't miss him blazing through this game. <v Speaker 4>It could be done any second. <v Speaker 2>There it is. <v Speaker 4>There's an Amazon package. <v Speaker 2>He doesn't docks himself either. Good job, Dan, that's a pro. <v Speaker 2>Here's the game. There it is there you go. <v Speaker 4>Our first This is the first time we sent somebody <v Speaker 4>a Super Nintendo game for Blake Club. <v Speaker 2>That's exciting. Yeah, so I guess I'm shoot Super Nintendo. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>we'll go to the retro tank, right. <v Speaker 5>That's exactly why we were doing the Blightning Round too, <v Speaker 5>because it was like, we're like so many Super Nintendo games. <v Speaker 5>They are, they're bad, but they're often too short, and <v Speaker 5>this is why we want to have Blightning Round. <v Speaker 2>This is Yeah. I'm so worried now because I made <v Speaker 2>the guess. I don't know if you were there, Grub, <v Speaker 2>I was pretty sure it was Wayne's World for sn <v Speaker 2>e S. And now I'm not so sure. And I <v Speaker 2>don't even know, honestly what it could be. I don't <v Speaker 2>know if like I've looked up a lot of worst <v Speaker 2>games of all time, I don't see this and the <v Speaker 2>ass pop up a lot. You're not far off. Whoa <v Speaker 2>not Home Improvement, Home Improvements longer. I don't think it's <v Speaker 2>home Stop trying to, stop trying to I think it's <v Speaker 2>gonna be a license SNS game. It's tomorrow, tomorrow. I'm <v Speaker 2>sitting here in tooth pain that I'm delaying for three <v Speaker 2>weeks to pain. <v Speaker 4>That's true, says Tomorrow Is. Oh, no, that one read <v Speaker 4>bigs He says Dan Reichert. Will there be a mcgruber <v Speaker 4>watchcast with VC? I mean assume who's VC in this case? <v Speaker 2>Do you see Virtual Company Venture? <v Speaker 4>Oh? <v Speaker 2>I don't think I've ever watched mcgruber with him. No, <v Speaker 2>we definitely talked about it now, I don't know if <v Speaker 2>I've saying it with them. No, I got to say <v Speaker 2>what to investigate? This makes, he says Mike manaughty. Will <v Speaker 2>there ever be Giant Bomb garbage bags at the store? <v Speaker 4>I think I could say, well with a certain degree <v Speaker 4>of certainty, that there will not be any Giant Bomb <v Speaker 4>branded garbage bags available on the store. <v Speaker 2>Products. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, never say never, you know, come on, open minded <v Speaker 3>and all. <v Speaker 4>That zombie porn, says is Sean playing that new Quantic <v Speaker 4>Dream game? Is there a new Quantic Dream game? <v Speaker 2>Always that the multiplayer one? <v Speaker 4>What they made a multiple In my mind, they're just <v Speaker 4>prett tending to work on that Star Wars game right <v Speaker 4>like five years or whatever, and I have done. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, they have a multiplayer one. It's a mobia. <v Speaker 4>They made a mob right, yes, from like a month ago. <v Speaker 4>Oh that must not be doing well. <v Speaker 2>Spellcaster's Chronicles, What that name sucks? That's real bad. Wait, <v Speaker 2>Spellcaster Chronicles, that's the chrontic dream Moba apparently that sounds <v Speaker 2>like that should have been the name for Do you <v Speaker 2>remember when they made the fake E three trailer like <v Speaker 2>fifteen fucking years ago and it was a wizard doing <v Speaker 2>a look like casting a spell in front of a <v Speaker 2>cauldron and all that. I don't remember. It looks so <v Speaker 2>stupid and like it was supposed to be stupid. It <v Speaker 2>was like either a tech demo or a like rug <v Speaker 2>pole thing. It was just like, oh, it's actually this <v Speaker 2>is the game that sounds like it should have been <v Speaker 2>called Spellcaster. It's like extra bad. <v Speaker 4>Now when you're free to play, game doesn't even get <v Speaker 4>the kind of high guard attention, right, you don't even <v Speaker 4>get the decorative attention right. <v Speaker 2>You're just completely ignored. <v Speaker 4>It just completely just can't man, this thing looks weird. <v Speaker 4>It looks like from like ten years ago when people <v Speaker 4>are trying to make third person Moba is more of <v Speaker 4>a thing. Especially weird now that we have that valve <v Speaker 4>one that is, you know, kind of taking this space. <v Speaker 4>I don't know, I normally be like we should try it. <v Speaker 4>I don't know if we need to try. It's an <v Speaker 4>early I'm good whatever. Then Bobby hot Dog says, d <v Speaker 4>O s S stands for dukie lace side salad n <v Speaker 4>T why. I don't know what the ntify apart meant, <v Speaker 4>but I like doukie lace side dookie means poop. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I learned that the one of one of us is <v Speaker 1>the hot cousin who. <v Speaker 2>I may beat you Jan the target of a cousin <v Speaker 2>of an Alex. Oh, we got to get off this. <v Speaker 2>I'm scared now. <v Speaker 1>Uh. <v Speaker 4>Zacycy Zacy says, I'm pretty sure Dan has to play <v Speaker 4>another Blake Club game before the Rip Rip Chord game <v Speaker 4>because of this is the Run. <v Speaker 2>I don't make the rules. <v Speaker 4>Sorry, Oh look, we didn't caudify Dan, remember you during <v Speaker 4>this is the run, You're like, we should make it <v Speaker 4>a rule so that if you lose the first question, uh, <v Speaker 4>you have to immediately played extra blank Club game and <v Speaker 4>then like five minutes later. But me and were like, no, <v Speaker 4>that's a terrible idea. <v Speaker 2>We don't want to do that. And then of course <v Speaker 2>you you were the first one to do that immediately. <v Speaker 2>It sounds like that was probably said in just. <v Speaker 4>And then Andrew Panton says, do you have any launch <v Speaker 4>reactions of Risie and I procopia. I searched launch, look, <v Speaker 4>it can only find slay the spire. I know it's <v Speaker 4>confusing branding. <v Speaker 2>I agree. <v Speaker 4>If only we could kind of normalize everything and just <v Speaker 4>have one umbrella term for at all. <v Speaker 2>I just want Mikey happy. That's all I care about. <v Speaker 2>Same the umbrella term for everything isn't the problem. The <v Speaker 2>umbrella term itself. That's it for the super chats, thank you? Yeah, <v Speaker 2>oh boy? But and that almost does it for the <v Speaker 2>show once again. <v Speaker 1>Gang, We're going to be at packs East next week <v Speaker 1>our panel schedules. One involves pinball, so that's going to <v Speaker 4>be fun to see. But yeah, I'm gonna check out <v Speaker 4>some Ireland games to celebrate the holiday. That's at four <v Speaker 4>pm Eastern, so stay tuld. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, Games Morning's popping off Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, right, grib. <v Speaker 2>That's right, Yep, we'll be back with that show for <v Speaker 2>the rest of the week. Blightning Round starts tomorrow. Gang <v Speaker 2>Dan's Turn is finally here. Now listen. It's going to <v Speaker 2>be a one episode thing, because that's what the gimmick <v Speaker 2>with Blightening Round is is that they're short games you <v Speaker 2>can beat in one episode. So yeah, one, I'm done <v Speaker 2>and like. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean, should be fine. The long play that <v Speaker 4>I watched was like almost a third of the time <v Speaker 4>of the one that Virtuoso was so pretty short. <v Speaker 2>Virtuoso was like an hour, right, Oh that thought I <v Speaker 2>was like two. No, it was like it was like <v Speaker 2>an hour fifty or something like that. Okay, maybe less <v Speaker 2>than half, less than half, yeah, it was like less <v Speaker 2>than half. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, voice ahead. <v Speaker 3>I was gonna say, go back and watch Abby successfully <v Speaker 3>build her very first mechanical keyboards. <v Speaker 2>She keeps writing me about it. <v Speaker 3>She's very honestly excited about it. She was not just uh, <v Speaker 3>you know, performing on streams. She actually does like the keyboard. <v Speaker 3>There's a lot of suspicion that she was lying the <v Speaker 3>whole time. <v Speaker 2>I'm here to tell you she was not. She does <v Speaker 2>like it. <v Speaker 3>Go watch the stream and then uh, if you do, <v Speaker 3>if it does compel you to go check out our <v Speaker 3>friends of Kinetic Labs. Please just use the referral affiliate <v Speaker 3>you ur l there, Yeah, that would be great and <v Speaker 3>help support Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 2>Thank you. <v Speaker 1>Voicemail dump truck popping off on Thursday, and speaking about <v Speaker 1>Abby Marry Me Tomadacci episode four for all the premium <v Speaker 1>folk out there this afternoon. You know, Mike, you were <v Speaker 1>talking about childhood Glee earlier in the show, and I <v Speaker 1>think it's appropriate that you got turned into a child. <v Speaker 2>I didn't see. Did you get turned back into a <v Speaker 2>real boo a child? <v Speaker 1>No? <v Speaker 4>There, they're compromise, which I said, I don't want you <v Speaker 4>to do. That was just to turn Princess, Mermaid and <v Speaker 4>Apple into children. Also, well yeah, well you're you're a kid, <v Speaker 4>so what you say, No one's gonna listen to that sense. <v Speaker 1>And then to end the week, like we mentioned at <v Speaker 1>the tip top, we're doing upf co Ops Lay the <v Speaker 1>Spire with our dear friend Bailey Myers, and then Mikey <v Speaker 1>is going to have another launch day stream of Crimson Desert. <v Speaker 1>You won't want to miss a gangu. We had a <v Speaker 1>quick look of Pragmata go up. Today We're gonna try <v Speaker 1>and get a titter in the can and get that <v Speaker 1>out to call folks at home on Mike what I just. <v Speaker 2>I just did like the phrase titter and it can <v Speaker 2>I got we saw that just say I loved that. <v Speaker 1>I just said titter once in a meeting and then <v Speaker 1>everyone just accepted it. <v Speaker 4>That's Jane. You have that power. <v Speaker 2>You gotta be careful. <v Speaker 1>Listen, you know I'm I'm gonna wield it appropriately. Don't worry, <v Speaker 1>gang folks. <v Speaker 2>That does it for the show. <v Speaker 1>We're gonna see you next week for another. <v Speaker 2>Episode of The Johns Surprisingly Close. You're not gonna get Jeff. <v Speaker 2>He's been Jeff's bed. <v Speaker 1>That's been the flower I've been Jack Sue next week <v Speaker 1>for another episode Open Josef, Can we Love You
