Episode 93 - The War of The Beast pt2. Terra is saved but the galaxy is still in danger

The 40k Lorecast

On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the war of the beast. We open with all of Terra freaking out about a giant attack moon just above Terra. But luckily the Lords of Terra have an idea, called the Proletarian Crusade. After that dismal failure, we cover two different visitations to the imperial palace, from the Orks and then the Harlequins. From there we follow the forces of the imperium to mars, where they learn the origins of the ork invasion. But before they can act they have to run and pick up a Primarch, who just appeared out of no where.

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Forty Kaylor Castle with me, John Barsadian, Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_01]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: On today's cast, we'll be continuing our coverage of the War of the Beast with the arrival of the Orc-Moon above Tara and the, the Imperium trying to do something about that because it's really not ideal.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, who also had hard time with the War of the Beast?
[SPEAKER_01]: You because that was our fourth take on the second sentence of that of the podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's fan today.
[SPEAKER_00]: Today's starting strong.
[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of, you know, I want to go with this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I, for this cast, I want in the discord, who either said the same thing too much or mispronounced the words more.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I can, let's get it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Brad, I edit the podcast.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can auto win.
[SPEAKER_00]: Son of a bitch.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can auto win.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can auto win.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can auto win.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can, auto win.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we can, we
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not even me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm adding stutters from other casts into this one, just to make you sound worse.
[SPEAKER_00]: For those who are new to us, the Forty Kay lore cast is a weekly podcast, folks in the lore of the Warhammer Forty Kay universe, releasing every Monday at seven p.m.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eastern Time.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you like the show, please comment on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously like it, that's always helpful.
[SPEAKER_00]: It does help our algorithm out quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also for those who want to support us and don't want to listen to the apparently horrible audio-leveled ads.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry guys, I've no control over them.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just as an ad placement.
[SPEAKER_00]: We do now have a patreon that gets it for you ad for you for ninety nine a month.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very common thing I get is a hate and you control the volume of the ads like literally no I'm sorry it's kind of watching anything with I mean this goes back to old people when you actually watch regular TV when the ads were always wildly louder than the show was
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's one of those things where like, that's why, for the ads, there is a lead in, you'll hear me kick it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do that for two reasons.
[SPEAKER_00]: One, so it just, it makes the cast flow better, but also to give you guys a heads up that, hey, you know, unbalanced audio incoming.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brace yourself.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're telling the listeners.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brace yourself.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, basically.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you're wearing headphones for people.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really wish everybody I had control over them.
[SPEAKER_00]: If I was the one putting the ads in, I would balance them, but I'm not.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, all I'm saying is lean into it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Also in the show notes you'll see a link to our new YouTube page, as well as our discord.
[SPEAKER_00]: Both of them are very proud of the YouTube pages new.
[SPEAKER_00]: The discord is fantastic.
[SPEAKER_00]: We are at time of probably release will be over nine thousand people strong and growing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It really is a wonderful community.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can I express enough how I'd like you guys to join it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Also should in us a while ago, because at time of release will be multiple weeks after, but thank you to everyone who came to our giant Warhammer event in Southfield, Michigan.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just love the fact that we win.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it real time.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is in real time.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're like four days out in release time where multiple weeks passed.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a weird thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, past people.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for coming to the thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I got
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's jump back in to War the Beast starting off with a recap.
[SPEAKER_00]: The tranquil and mostly positive life of the Imperium in the middle of M. thirty two just got demolished by an orconvasion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like the Imperium has been completely thrown for a loop.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the largest invasion until the second War of Armageddon, which is about ten thousand years later.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are other significant invasions, but in size and scope, nothing gives us this, or maybe Abbott on the thirteen, not Abbott thirteen black crusades after.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're saying your say it's.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so there we go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Significantly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see, this is the biggest thing in numbers and it will be the biggest thing in numbers for a really long time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're going to be covering probably about episode four, the legacy of the war of the beast.
[SPEAKER_00]: It massively wrecked the Imperium and how it was going to function going forward.
[SPEAKER_00]: The war of the beast, I was beatings people's comments on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you want to take out heels of opinions and may have actually been the reason the Imperium's such a nightmare to live in today is it's because they were so afraid of another war of the beast.
[SPEAKER_00]: the way that we build our high world's way we do everything changed a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this thing's important.
[SPEAKER_00]: And why is it important?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, because the lords of terror suck.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the opening of the war of the beast was made significantly worse by the lords of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they were primarily a few key characters, Lansung, who's a high admiral of the Navy, of the Navy.
[SPEAKER_00]: who saw the war.
[SPEAKER_00]: The imperial name.
[SPEAKER_00]: He saw the war with the Orcs as a way to actually improve himself and diminish the power of his others by letting millions, billions of imperial citizens die while he stood back.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's billions.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is billions.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just while he stood back, then you have the ad Mac who have mysteriously withdrawn from the conflict, not out of like cowardice, just everyone knows they're scheming.
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what's going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: To combat this, we have the head of the inquisition and the head of the assassins working to undermine them.
[SPEAKER_00]: separately.
[SPEAKER_00]: Totally separately.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the first round.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is, and I'll do my first big deal of the cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a big deal, though, because if they would have actually come together, I think that this a lot of this could have been stopped.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just kind of knew of each other's existence and what they were doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I think everybody just assumed everybody was so skinny that there's no way anybody can work together.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: The first round of the fighting, the Imperial Fists got a limited down to one fist, ways to fist, going to keep both of his hands.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there are two.
[SPEAKER_00]: There is one Imperial Fist left.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yes, two hands.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know what I mean there, there we go.
[SPEAKER_00]: a hornland issued a last wall protocol and in doing so every successor chapter of the imperial fist has met and they've agreed to unify under one banner their next move is to be determined obviously it's the safe tarab but they're missing the best part of it although is that there was a great ork attack moon that appeared next to sanctus system
[SPEAKER_00]: Having his hand-forced landsung, deployed the entire Imperial Navy to the spot, and despite taking heavy losses defeated the Orcs and destroyed the attack moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Imperium then declared victory, which is kind of weird, because there was still a lot of orcs all over the place and attack moments, but there was small attacks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Did this at the end of the last cast?
[SPEAKER_01]: But there was, they saw other attack moments.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they knew there was more forces.
[SPEAKER_01]: There were small ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: If there's a giant scrum in the streets of ten on ten, and you beat up one guy and then walk away, claiming victory, the other nine guys will probably show up.
[SPEAKER_01]: And well,
[SPEAKER_01]: The other nine orcs did show.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually worse than that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lenson goes back to Terra as a hero.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he really was a massive hero.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have a huge parade for him celebrating his heroism.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the middle of the parade, a Bork attack when appears.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we say, we say, in orbit, it's part of it's in the atmosphere.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right above Terra, right above.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pro or yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you jumped high, you could touch them.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you look up, it all it's right there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't district nine close, but it's close.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, nothing movie.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's just amazing sci-fi film.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's dive in.
[SPEAKER_00]: So before we dive into the battle in Terra, we need to talk a bit about some of the nefarious things that Lansung had been doing before we had out this sanctist to rescue it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Lansung really was, he was going to come a master manipulator, but he wasn't, but he was a good manipulator.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a scheme.
[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a much better term.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, much better term.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's start with the first thing the biggest thing he did was he neutered the Imperial Guard.
[SPEAKER_00]: As we said last time, the Lord Commander of the Astro-Militarum, Heth died with the Imperial Fists fighting against the Orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: His successor, Abal Veraloot, came in, but
[SPEAKER_00]: Lansing used this moment to neuter his competition.
[SPEAKER_00]: His Lansing's entire goal was to rise the title of Lord Commander of the Imperium, and that title is really going to go to one of two people.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Imperial Navy, or the Imperial Guard, foreshadow, or Space Marine, or a Prime Mark.
[SPEAKER_00]: But, at this era, these guys all thought he would go to a human.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, Lansing was concerned that after his fight with the Orcs, his forces would be heavily depleted.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this would allow the guard to shine, should any other engagement arise, or just think he was that, hey, there's more of us, I should be in charge.
[SPEAKER_00]: So to prevent this,
[SPEAKER_00]: He worked with, I hate this guy so I don't you do.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just because of the fact that, again, you said master manipulator, I said schemer.
[SPEAKER_01]: The reason was is that a master manipulator would make himself greater, but he would also want the most power around him.
[SPEAKER_01]: This guy's actually weakening severely the power and the stability of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's burning everything down so that he can take control of the burnt husk remains of what's left there.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is such a terrible plan.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what makes this so terrible is that he spreads the guard around the galaxy with the Lord Commander Udo, who's also aligned with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the guard are just they're engaged with some of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're even overmatched in all around, but then lancing pulls the fleet away from them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So all these guardsmen are stuck wherever they are all around the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: which means that if this thing goes wrong, there's no guardsmen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, when an orc attack moon appears above Terra, and all of the Imperial Guard is nowhere near Terra.
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys that he really, really, really need to fight against these guys?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it seems bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: The other interesting one for Lansing is Weenand.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, as we said last time, Lansing's plan was to hold his fleet back into the space Marines, fight it out with the Orcs at Port Sactus.
[SPEAKER_00]: But Weenand convinced one of his subordinates to go for glory and engage the Orcs, which forces Lansing's hand.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the end-lancing is successful, but at great cost to as our motto.
[SPEAKER_00]: While the reason I bring that up is what happens in the process of lancing going out to fight the Orcs at Port Sanctus, this random thing occurs.
[SPEAKER_00]: and a quesitor named Veritas, who spoiler alert is actually Kyrol Senderman.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was just by saying, bonus.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a pretty big, if you want a name drop, people and things you've done, he's got suffer.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will Senderman may have the best resume of anyone at this era.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Kyrol Senderman is in all over the Horace Harrisy books because that's when he was alive.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's still alive at this point, but he served with Garval Logan.
[SPEAKER_00]: He'd spent time with you free to healer.
[SPEAKER_00]: He'd personally read parts of the book of Lorgar.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was also with Garrow and the crew of the Eisnstein, but fled to Estvan III.
[SPEAKER_00]: He actually was one of the people who founded the Inquisition.
[SPEAKER_00]: But when he found England, he changed his name to Veritas.
[SPEAKER_00]: At this moment, when he shows up, this man is fifteen hundred years old.
[SPEAKER_00]: regular human, not a space marine.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's encased in a suit of power armor.
[SPEAKER_00]: That is why.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's scale that back, Chad.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's encased in power armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: He has Darth Vader suit on.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was this is life support.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say it's armor, but
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also armor.
[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest thing it's doing is he's Mr. Bern's frail.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's wandering around in a giant suit of life support.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all this thing is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Veritas though is interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is a psychopath when it comes the Inquisition.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's what the Inquisition refers to as a Puritan, and that he believes only in the teachings of the Emperor and the authority of the Inquisition.
[SPEAKER_00]: Any and all.
[SPEAKER_00]: The second part's a big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because he's he's he's a believing in the fact of the authority of the inquisition is the actual will of the emperor and they can go over anybody or anything and he one hundred percent believes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it this is important because we've talked about before that stuff like road traders but the inquisition all this they have some weird powers where they can like requisition ships and do stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_01]: There are just genuinely believes that the inquisition should be running the entirety of the imperial, because... Well, hey, also, if he was everything would go bad pretty quickly, because he also wants to murder all the heretics instantaneously.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and his deficit of heretics is everyone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of... It's kind of... It's not really much of an imperial when he's done.
[SPEAKER_00]: seemingly out of nowhere, veritas appears, and beans accusing the inquisitor weenant of betraying the inquisition.
[SPEAKER_00]: He claims that she is more aligned with the lords of terror than the inquisition, and therefore she should be stripped of her title.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, you say it as a statement on that, but he said it, it is, this is one of the cool stories in the where the base again, twelve books, but he says it any accusatory like you slept with my wife kind of, you know, feel it's a accusatory statement of, what did you do?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: However, due to this accusation, the inquisition puts together a conclave, and the conclave gets together and devote.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the conclave decides, no, there's not really any evidence of Queen's treachery.
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, it's actually kind of the opposite.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's doing a great thing for us.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's an incredibly loyal.
[SPEAKER_00]: And she seems to have nothing but the Imperium's best interest in mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do completely treat him like the Karen at the first time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we should mention that one thing I should point out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So his
[SPEAKER_00]: being chiral syndrome is not revealed at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: For some reason, the inquisition doesn't even know who he is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Even the inquisition's unaware of how famous this person is, but he's also very, very powerful.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even though he's walking around with, I just assumed he was the fish from Mega Mind walking around.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Veritas decides after being denied this one that it's just fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: I try the real way.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to kill her.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he hires a bunch of assassins to go and kill Weenon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Luckily for Weenon, then Gorich had his own suspicions about Veritas.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he'd secretly sent S on wire, who we talked about last time to protect her.
[SPEAKER_00]: So she had this, and she, the fun, she wasn't aware of this by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was, she had, she had never said wire super ninja.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this you find the super assassin.
[SPEAKER_00]: So she has and this is I again, this is my problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: I read this more comically where they can a movie where you have a guy who thinks he's a master spy, but actually isn't a master spy and there's some bodyguard killing everyone that they try to murder him.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's basically how I saw this scene.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was with your pink Panther.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm being honest with you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go pink panther.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we're old enough.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do pink panther.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is basic.
[SPEAKER_00]: I view this whole thing is pink panther, where endless assassins are trying to kill him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as sons having the assassins accidentally shoot each other, you know, types of an area like it's very, very, you can read it seriously, but I just chose not to because it's me.
[SPEAKER_00]: but eventually after enough of these attempts, we named just realizes that eventually she's going to die.
[SPEAKER_00]: So she fakes her own death.
[SPEAKER_00]: And upon faking her own death, she doesn't, so she can go into the shadows to figure out what's going on with these lords of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because again,
[SPEAKER_00]: Vengorich is doing this to keep her alive, but Vengorich is not talking to her yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, after this moment, they begin to.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it wasn't until she goes into hiding her and Vengorich begin to actually have a conversation of, hey, something's up here.
[SPEAKER_00]: We need to do something before we, the entire imperial dies.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, is this book too before they even acknowledge each other?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's right about work, too.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, yeah, woo, always into the story before they like, hey, you also think this guy's in a hole, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, want to be friends?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like, all right, let's go back to the cliffhanger.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a moon over Terry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, full of orcs.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just over Terry.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty much just kind of almost.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Tara, and Tara is effectively defenseless at this point.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's recap, Lansing basically sent half the fleet around town.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't show everybody how awesome he was.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he put the Imperial Guard everywhere, but to try to everywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I was terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't give them a ride back.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's in, let's give master minute.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's also allowed the interior fists to die.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing left.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so to add to the issues, Tara then calls Mars for support.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Mars is response is new phone who this.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's best way.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's so now all of Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: the fence pretty quickly into anarchy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of can fear the grips, the entire population, because there's, well, because they're seeing a foreign invader with no response.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, yeah, well, it's a fair of foreign invader for no response, but also it has been hundreds and hundreds of years of no one can touch us.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the center of the universe kind of thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, where Tara is, no one could possibly come here.
[SPEAKER_00]: This can over a thousand years, and the last time was horse.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying that like even you hearing about any kind of scuffle, you know, it's been.
[SPEAKER_00]: I also want to point out kistodes didn't say a thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's an orca tack moon above the imperial palace.
[SPEAKER_00]: The kistodes were just like, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: because they were also like, hey, man, you can do whatever you want in the rest of the territory show up in the Imperial Palace.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying we're gonna wreck you.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is true.
[SPEAKER_00]: We took that fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is before the custodians were waiting the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they were really going to this point.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, the custodians slid the rounds once it's paper over.
[SPEAKER_01]: It says it's just says I do what I want.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the custos were so much better before they put them into the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was a person I hate that they're in the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because they were the other's enigmatic thinkers that were so powerful and you didn't know what they were doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they only communicated with the Emperor and you weren't really sure if the Emperor was fully communicating with what exactly was happening, but they were also so large.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they could wreck everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Although actually, that's where I come up with this episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's coming up in a little bit, guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: But let's dive into this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The lords of Tara finally do come up with a solution and the solution is they see above Tara a giant wood shipper and their thought processes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just put up on you wouldn't it with ideas so stupid such a great one.
[SPEAKER_00]: First off, they all agree that the entire thing is lancing spault.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the first thing they all do and that part was actually kind of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were correct.
[SPEAKER_00]: What the lords of terror look at, they say, we have no real formal military here.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's some planetary defense force, that's it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The orcs when they attack are going to overwhelm us.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're all going to die when that happens.
[SPEAKER_00]: So why don't we go there and just I don't know shorten the trip and the whole idea comes actually out of the Ecclesiarchy who decide this is a great idea and points out that hey, there's a massive merchant fleet here which there is as we said last on the merchant fleet is ninety percent of the ships within the Imperium and Does it time of people on Terra?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's Brad rant time.
[SPEAKER_01]: This idea is so terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just say, hey, did you ship have any armor?
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're like basically not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have any guns like the tiny bit?
[SPEAKER_01]: You should run straight at those orcs when I horribly die.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but if we send enough of you, you'll slow it down so we can figure out something else.
[SPEAKER_01]: What else are we going to do?
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey,
[SPEAKER_01]: grab everybody from the mall and hand them a lasgan have they ever fired one ever before no but again as the orchewsing is chopper to cut through that guy it'll take them in extra couple seconds and maybe we'll figure something out before that
[SPEAKER_01]: And if we keep doing that over and over again, it'll delay our inevitable demise and someone will figure it out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, in the part that's funny about this is this is the idea of the ecclesiarchy.
[SPEAKER_00]: They get the full backing of the head of the merchant ships.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, yeah, this is a great idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: I will use my merchant ships to save the safe Terra.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it was on his fourth divorce.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just got done.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he went, yeah, might as well just drive into the York City.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody else went, hey, man, I have way board a lift for he's like, no, no, let's all do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're all doing this.
[SPEAKER_00]: The funny part to me about this is Ben Goritch, of course.
[SPEAKER_00]: there at us who's now who has a, so planted wean into this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: You guys are out of your minds.
[SPEAKER_00]: A bunch of them are all saying no, but unfortunately, another voice pops up saying this is a terrible idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was lancing, who just could not read a room.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's all I'm gonna say.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because when everyone thinks you're an idiot in a hole, whatever side you choose, everyone's gonna go, oh, so the opposites look the rest one.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is all.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure they weren't gonna agree to this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like,
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm on your percent for, or against it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I changed my mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was changing about what we were going.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to the moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to the moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: What happens next is called the proletarian crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to call GW out here.
[SPEAKER_00]: I usually hate on them for their naming mechanics.
[SPEAKER_00]: I loved that they'd call the proletarian crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: Very clever naming mechanic.
[SPEAKER_00]: Someone got an A plus in their philosophy lessons.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's get into the proletarian crusade, which you actually does have an upside initially.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the populace loves the idea.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's aren't signing up for this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa, let's talk about the thing that people forget all the time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tara is one, if not number one or two, I can never remember one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Helen, tell her.
[SPEAKER_00]: Helen, tell her.
[SPEAKER_00]: I screwed it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But it is wildly populace.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is chorus on.
[SPEAKER_01]: with, hey, we didn't think you, we thought you wasted a lot of space.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking all the way up to basically people living almost to the core, and they have an underdog basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is quite, they give an estimate, which is quadrillion.
[SPEAKER_01]: of people also there's people to give things to it here's a stick here's a slingshot you will actually make a difference if you give one hundred billion slingshots to people it does work to a point so we're talking tens of thousands of shifts start landing and just get jam packed with people because it's not a long trip to the attack mode by the way
[SPEAKER_00]: and the ship start going up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the truth is, at first, it kind of works.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's just so many ships that the orcs just can't shoot them all down and orcs shooting is orcs shooting.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, as someone who's not precision in the gate, let's go for everybody doesn't play the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Orcs on a six-sided die needy five to hit things.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not including any negative modifiers you might have.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they shoot volumes of shots in a general direction.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you put enough targets out there, you'll get some stuff that are red and I know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love playing Orcs and I live by my five up and I oftentimes die by my five up.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not work.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are many times where it's just like, oh, how many shots did you get?
[SPEAKER_00]: I rolled for seventy shots.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm times that you hit four didn't, didn't go well that day.
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, hundreds and then thousands of ships make planet fall in the attack moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: And now there's millions of imperial citizens running crazed across an orc moon, shooting their lasgons and hanging up that's not imperial.
[SPEAKER_01]: If the second phase of this is super cool though, this actually I like.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not the biggest fan of just going, hey, give the whole family a last gun and go to the mood.
[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be great.
[SPEAKER_01]: But while they're doing this, they land a crap ton of heavy machinery out here.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking to, what is it?
[SPEAKER_01]: A hundred lean in rust tanks and commercial people, hellhounds.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just bringing like real forces to bear on this.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many people that actually, the orcs, of course, rush out for melee combat.
[SPEAKER_00]: And again, for those who forget, and I, a orc boy is two times the size of a regular human.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they are, it's, this is the, I think, work in an era right now.
[SPEAKER_00]: People are talking about a hundred man versus one gorilla, the orc romple stomps that gorilla.
[SPEAKER_00]: it's a hundred gorillas to the one orc but there's so many people the orcs actually start falling back because they can't beat up this many people they get overwhelmed by the population and it looks like the humanity might push all the way through
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the Orcs just decided to play the game differently.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fun thing about an Orcs attack moon is it's not really a moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not made of rocks and geologic structures at four more over time.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a like hodgepodge death star where the Orcs just put metal things together and other manufactured by it's basically a piles of scrap all over it.
[SPEAKER_00]: As the humans are pushing the orgs back, the orgs just decide, all right, and they move the surface of the planet and they collapse.
[SPEAKER_00]: They collapse two mountains down on top of the entirety of the human attacking force killing almost everybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: Happens next.
[SPEAKER_00]: is decently well written, but I hate it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you hear my tone change, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is so dark.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is never happened before.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also never happened again.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think everyone read it when this is because it's a bit of cringe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just assuming that there was a zote on top of the shoulder, like a parent.
[SPEAKER_00]: So after the failure on the moon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously we're not big fans of this act.
[SPEAKER_00]: Should be pretty clear.
[SPEAKER_00]: But after the failure on the moon, some of the merchantships are coming back.
[SPEAKER_00]: And one merchant ship that comes back lands right outside basically the Senate and three orc step out of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And one of them is an ambassador named Bezrak.
[SPEAKER_00]: who demands an audience with the leaders of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: And at this stage, that is technically the lords of terror to the lords of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm saying that because you'll get, give me a couple minutes guys, you'll get why made that specific piece there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then Gorish sees this and says, all right, well,
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's not kill the orc because then that attack when it's coming down.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just hear him out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think his idea was to buy time.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think then Gorge was just like, we just got our butts kicked.
[SPEAKER_00]: We got to buy time.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if this gets us time, that's fine.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Bezrak goes in front of the lords of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this whole scene is just super over the top in the book.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, just is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I really do think that this is just three grots and an overcrowded overcrowded.
[SPEAKER_00]: It would've been better if it was.
[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, it's not.
[SPEAKER_00]: It would've been way better if it was.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Bezrock comes any, he gives them two choices.
[SPEAKER_00]: Surrender or die, which I hate because why would the orcs?
[SPEAKER_01]: Just on this though, pause, pause, pause because this makes the scene even stummer.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because peace apparently comes out with his monocole and his pinky out when he's drinking.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just speaks high gossip.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the whole, I'll explain what I think GW was trying to do with this.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you guys a story.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think a letter in the right thing they were trying to tell, which could have been a lot better.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he best rock starts chiding everybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: He mocks all the lords there for being
[SPEAKER_00]: cowards, he does not tell them about the great beast and it says his phrase is that the beast has you by the guts and if you can either struggle in which case the beast will rip them out or you can surrender and get to keep your guts.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not very orky, I'm being honest.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the end, the lords of terror just become jittering nothing.
[SPEAKER_00]: People are like flying, they're like some people are begging for mercy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And a few guys say kill him, which is not helpful.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Bezrock eventually just leaves.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking down about like humanity being too stupid.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just the whole bit stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Monaco needs someone to draw this for me and put it in the name section.
[SPEAKER_01]: I need an oracle, the monacle with pinkies out.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's already a Bezreck model.
[SPEAKER_00]: Google's name.
[SPEAKER_00]: You'll find that there are people that made Bezreck models.
[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, they look, they're good.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's some very good Bezreck models.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what I think they were trying to do here is show that these orcs were different.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then Gorich realized that Bezreck was equal to a human or better in thought and power.
[SPEAKER_00]: At this moment, Vanguard realizes that their fight is not against the crazed orcs of the past.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a new type of work, an orc who has brute force and tactics, and that this battle ahead of them was going to be harder than anything they had in history.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bezrak leaves and guess who shows up?
[SPEAKER_00]: The Elder.
[SPEAKER_00]: My boys now.
[SPEAKER_00]: The difference is, whereas the Orcs land on the planet and calmly walked up with a good old fashioned, take me to your leader, the Elder do what Eldar do.
[SPEAKER_00]: They already knew where the leader was, so they're just going to go there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the leaders, not the Lords of Terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: will be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I also didn't ask to go there because they're all there.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're just like, oh, yeah, the leaders right there, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going there.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I go.
[SPEAKER_00]: I go there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me set this stage.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was an orc moon right above the Imperial Palace.
[SPEAKER_00]: Costodes don't even open a window.
[SPEAKER_00]: In Oregon, Baster has come down to talk to the Lords of Terra.
[SPEAKER_00]: No one bothers the Emperor with this thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're all doing their own thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Suddenly, in the halls of the Imperial Palace, seven hard-liquins appear with a shadow sear.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just start be lining for the emperor, which the custodians are not really cool with, without being honest.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love that you put in the, they said they come in peace.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really feel it was just on Mars attack.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do not run away with your friends.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a movie by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I feel that was that movie just hits me in my heart.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm always so stupidly funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Harley Quinn's are there to deliver a message of incredible importance, but they did so unannounced and a Redwood and fully armed.
[SPEAKER_00]: The custodes just start attacking.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the Harley Quinn's special forces team in.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, we've got a message to deliver.
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's all these killers that were just what
[SPEAKER_01]: for like, what?
[SPEAKER_00]: The arms for the forces team.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I do like is that, and this is actually some of the funnier parts of the writing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're literally yelling, I come in peace while dodging all the bullets from the custodes.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then shooting back at the custodes and killing them with some pretty nasty guns.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Hollywood's are breaking out the ultimate dodge, duck dip, dive, and dodge.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the custodes are just getting slaughtered by trigger cannons.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're still also running full speed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're keep moving through it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the problem is as they kill more custodes, more custodes keep showing up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And eventually there's enough of a wall of fire that you can only, you know, dodge duck dip dive and dodge so many times.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're dodging a wrench, you're dodging a ball.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a lot of wrenches and they start killing off some of them till the final shadow sear almost makes it to the doors of the golden throne and just gets grabbed by the throat by a custo.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, who for whatever reason doesn't instant kill her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then she basically goes, hey, I got a lucky coin from the arcade a thousand years ago.
[SPEAKER_00]: She pulls out a Drake tooth that was given to Eldred by Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently this is enough for the custodes not to bash her face in, which was what would have happened just totally.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, somehow, by the way.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I guess, I read this book a long time ago, and I didn't have time to go find it and reread this bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then Gorge and Veritas get access.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, the custodians haven't said a word to anybody, but now those two were allowed in.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they take like the secret door into, which, because this is my least favorite of the parts of the story.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do like the word of the beast of the lab.
[SPEAKER_01]: We said it's draw books.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is by far my lead.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like this part of the story, because it's funny, but it makes no sense of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: because in mid-conversation, they're just standing next to the custodians.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm nowhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: And no one thought to know that.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about that?
[SPEAKER_00]: The attack mood was there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, custom.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, we have no imperial guard in this planet barring a couple thousand guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: Could you guys help us out?
[SPEAKER_00]: We're about to get invaded by the orcs?
[SPEAKER_00]: Nah, that wasn't worth it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But we heard shooting from the imperial palace the way we went in there.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I digress.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do love this part, because in my mind, there's a backstory to it, because Eldrade basically had, you know, looked into the future and did some stuff, and sent them to aid, and I get only a soup, and he went, all right, guys, you got the token to show that you should be trusted, and that you have a message from me, and they went, no problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: We will take care of this perfectly, and then they invaded the Imperial Palace in full space.
[UNKNOWN]: No!
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, just not on the front door.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, look, I've got this broken.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can I please talk to someone of importance?
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all they just do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Later on, just having a big drive board going, let's go over the things that we're badly.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to review the plan and spoiler alert.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have some notes.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have some.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, now the shadow sear is being interrogated.
[SPEAKER_00]: Her name is Laurel for the record, and she's being interrogated by Van Gorge and Veritas.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, it's a louder, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why not?
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna say it with some flow.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, she's apparently Latin, good to know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eltsrad has sent her and them to aid the humans.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a weird aid, but more importantly to warn them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The elder had used their psychic powers to calm all the work around soul.
[SPEAKER_00]: Something I want to point out apparently they can do, but only when it only matters, because this skill would have been really helpful a lot more of the times, like when Gilliam and his trying to get back across the galaxy later on, or you know, thirteen black crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: say this could have been really helpful a lot of these times and they did it that shows one time to do it by the way, the real reason that they're there is not just to calm the warp it's so they can deal with your experience but it's the warn that the chaos is rising in that humanity needs to prepare for the coming forces of chaos and
[SPEAKER_01]: That's it, though.
[SPEAKER_01]: She might drop after that.
[SPEAKER_01]: He like, what forces of chaos?
[SPEAKER_01]: What do they do?
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, nah, I got nothing else.
[SPEAKER_01]: Smoke bomb and just takes off.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what's actually funny about it is that in it, though, she does turn to, she does turn to Veritas and say, I know you can feel this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Veritas makes a face of, yeah, I do, because he is a very powerful cycle.
[SPEAKER_00]: He can feel something's going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's funny about this though, is that after this moment, she just disappears.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't kill her, which is what usually appearing, but do.
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I think she appears later back with the elder.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess they just let her go.
[SPEAKER_01]: In my mind, again, they were so confused by the lack of information in this message that you felt you had to invade the Imperial Palace.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're like, see, you went through all this to go, hey, man, taco Tuesdays.
[SPEAKER_01]: because it's left and everybody went, dude, I couldn't they have just emailed that to what what happened?
[SPEAKER_00]: The part I like about this is I want to believe that after this meeting, then go rich and veritas what, you know what, thank you, go ahead and go on your way and then she leaves and later the custodes show up to come grab her and say, hey, where's that person that killed a couple dozen custodes?
[SPEAKER_00]: We we need to have a conversation with it all we let her go.
[SPEAKER_00]: You did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Couple does he tell you specifically?
[SPEAKER_00]: They're like, why would you do that?
[SPEAKER_00]: Every customer still takes ten thousand people to make.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you just let her go.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's get to the cool part now of where stuff kind of does turn around a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: All of Tara is basically preparing to get absolutely wrecked by an organization when the last wall arrives.
[SPEAKER_00]: about three thousand space marines with their fleet arrive in orbit above the moon and launch an incredible offensive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me give a quick thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not pulling on all the books on this, but that part was by far the low part in a twelve book series.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just because super cool stuff starts happening right now because the fifth and all the successor chapters, sorry of the fifth and all the successor chapters.
[SPEAKER_01]: show up and start they put on I think they just went into the armory and started mass producing boots of money as oh this is because they they put the hammer down yeah and not only that they also show up with Mars out of nowhere so we so planet site terminators
[SPEAKER_00]: Skittari, and one of my personal favorite things in the game, Castellan robots all land all over the moon, and just start wrecking the orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, they fight their way in and actually destroy the portal linking the moon to the rest of the orcs using Melta bombs.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're advised to eliminate the orcs to reinforce.
[SPEAKER_00]: but cool thing happens because they do some good reveals over these books guys because the whole idea is that they don't know what's happening with how this org thing is so powerful and each little reveal gives you a bit more.
[SPEAKER_00]: And at the very end, as a place in the meltabons at org warbaos appears and this warbaos though is
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's just what I say.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not, he is not clicking paste or boss.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they describe him as the size of a treadmill.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a walking orc the size of a dreadnought who comes, moseying on in and the chapter master of the Iron Knights goes to fight him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he grabs a chapter of the Iron Knights and pulls his head off of his shoulders as the Melta bombs explode all around him.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the first glimpse we have and do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh,
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a bigger group of orcs than we thought.
[SPEAKER_01]: Back on terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then yeah, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: You just, there's more lords of terror, awfulness.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is getting a lot more terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: They go, yeah, man.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was a great victory because of us.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're so awesome.
[SPEAKER_01]: We took care of everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome, everybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, no need to fake me.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Could do finger guns.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lord Commander Udo takes complete credit for this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Udo, remember, had been a puppet of Lansing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And now Lansing was gone because he sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Udo needed to get some more glory.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Udo sees this happening goes great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Look what I did.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now what's funny about this to me is that Udo gets a little bit too big for his British out of nowhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is instantly, it's all fired up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let me go back just a second because it is, again, this is why everyone should hate the learns of terror, the passion of a thousand sons.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't care that they're fixing their characters and still get mad about them because these guys cannot push people down to step on them to get slightly higher, fast enough.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a new set of stairs.
[SPEAKER_01]: That is just bodies.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, yeah, what do you call them?
[SPEAKER_00]: What I like about happens next is the term I like to think of is if you've ever seen Indiana Jones and the last Crusade when they're drinking out of which cup is the cup of Christ and then that just goes, you have chosen poorly.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I think of what Uno does next.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Uno immediately demands an audience with all of the last wall guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love that you did the Indiana Jones in my mind.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're just playing your CRPG and you just keep choosing the bad option.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you kept following that because let's talk about what he did.
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't thank them.
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't greet them.
[SPEAKER_01]: He instantly starts yelling at them and chastizing for breaking the codex of star days, which they take super well.
[SPEAKER_01]: They really just roll away.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have no problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: The head of the Black Templar who's standing in front of them is, yeah, that makes sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: Please keep yelling at me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Person half my size with a very cuttable neck.
[SPEAKER_00]: First off, he tells them they're going to immediately be broken up into smaller chapters, and to the ever-polished stunt again, they would face the full wrath of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: He then tells them that they're all going to go upstairs and outside and be paraded in front of the people of Terra as separate chapters, and then each chapter will redeclare their oath of fealty to the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: He then, on top of that, they all kind of point at Corland and say, what the F guys, why is there one imperial fist?
[SPEAKER_00]: And he says, yeah, we're not telling anyone about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It would be damaging to the imperial.
[SPEAKER_00]: If anyone fed out the imperial fist, we're gone.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're just going to pretend they've always been gone.
[SPEAKER_00]: Finally, just to have a bit more fun, he also tells them to leave the Orc attack moon alone.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's already promised it over to the head of the Mechanicum, named Kubik, and he has plans for that, which we're going to reveal pretty shortly.
[SPEAKER_00]: This does not go well.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now to their credit, Cornland does prevent the Imperial Fists from murdering him right then and there.
[SPEAKER_01]: I burn out a little sand on that because I thought for sure that the black templates would just go.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're just going to see how many times we can cut him right like we're just what how about you grab left arm I grab right arm and we'll see let's explain the wishbone to chicken let's see who gets more of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: What did they more sense?
[SPEAKER_00]: Interestingly, though, these actions of Udo and the other members of the Lord of Terror, bother and quiz a tour of Veritas.
[SPEAKER_00]: Veritas has just brought himself up, and the funny on Veritas is there's hinted in there that he actually, he and Lansing, and then by proxy Udo, were aligned behind the scenes to do something.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the last, I don't know, twenty-four hours have ruined veritas.
[SPEAKER_00]: These actions of Udo, it all ended with a high terror, messed with inquisitor veritas, who's been on a bit of an adventure recently.
[SPEAKER_00]: First, he discovered that Weenin was still alive and sent more assassins after, but they almost seriously died.
[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't work.
[SPEAKER_00]: He then realized that was because of Van Gogh, it's the head of the assassins, so he was trying to have him murdered.
[SPEAKER_00]: That didn't work.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, Veritas was a decepticon.
[SPEAKER_01]: He would be fail-tron.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because absolutely none of his stuff works.
[SPEAKER_00]: What happens though is then he has a massive shift of character.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because Veritas, it was kicked it early on, was aligned with Lansing and Udo behind the scenes to achieve something.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the actions of the pro-attarian crusade were tens of millions, possibly billions of imperial citizens, die for no reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: He just sees these people are useless and morons.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then the Orkin Baster thing shows up where he's watching lords of terror beg for mercy from a zino.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is funny because in the books, he's wildly more upset about them asking for mercy and not having their crap together in front of zinos than he is tens of millions of people, though.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like this happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but this is the actual stickler.
[SPEAKER_01]: Figure it out, man.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as we said before, his meeting with the Shadow Seer really changed him because she was going to point out, can't you feel chaos rising?
[SPEAKER_00]: And he could.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Veritas now has this moment of, I have to move away from a Puritan to being more a pragmatist.
[SPEAKER_00]: The survival of humanity is at stake here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like we, whether I agree with everything, doesn't really matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have to survive.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Veritas then says, we need a truce with me and we need it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know she's alive, organize it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so they actually do the two of them meet and they agree that the Lord's a terrorist suck and that they're going to work together to make them suck less.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do like the fact that we didn't really understand how many times that very close.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I get this is our pink Panther reference.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was really good.
[SPEAKER_00]: She has no idea of how bad this was.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, of course we'll do it reconcile.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I have no bad blood to you.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've never done anything really bad to me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can two rappers do a collab and then later you find out the other one has a fifty five disk tracks on you.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's all.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I did not hear this.
[SPEAKER_00]: This makes that collaboration kind of awkward.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go have a chat with my agent.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what happens actually is interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Udo senses that Veritas and Vena were going to stand against him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he goes to pass a motion banning the inquisition from the Lords of Terra.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is just I love this guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And just because of the confidence is incredible.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is collegially levels of bad decisions, though, in a row, you're like, you're just gonna get killed, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: You're just reading down the playbook.
[SPEAKER_01]: He has a picture of collegially in Nero and his bedroom going, I got this guy as I'll live up to your excellent ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: This finally is the bridge too far.
[SPEAKER_00]: And chapter master, Corland, who's also
[SPEAKER_00]: medic, foot soldier, corolland, requisition officer, corolland, munitions, field officer, corolland decides to act.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he declares Udo a trader to the Imperium and moves to remove him from power with force.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's back as he does this by the co-heads of the inquisition, newly founded, and the head of the assassins, along with the men named Zach, who's the head of the Arbytes.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I like this home because of all the lords of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you can't do this and then look at who is doing going.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so it's a space marines the assassins read the acquisition and the art bites are all saying he's got to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm just going to go ahead and not get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me help you out of me and go with.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I support this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Portland removes Udo and immediately declares himself the Lord Commander of the Imperium, which I want to put out.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's Portland in the period of, I don't a month has declared himself chapter master of the Imperial Fists, and then declares himself the head of the entire Imperial Military.
[SPEAKER_00]: in some a lot of promotion.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is impressive.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is impressive.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't know what the land of the country of C land is, that's what kind of I think of as the guy who owns C land.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this occurs, but what happens next in the books is a lot of what I would consider cliffhangers at the end of an episode, back to back to back to back.
[SPEAKER_00]: There is a
[SPEAKER_00]: word of reveals that we're going to get through real quickly and they're each one of them is important and you're like oh that's an incredible reveal and then they get to the next one and you're like Jesus come on guys slow it down so you know what I'm not touching this one we are the name I actually before last night I was prepping myself no way you're just gonna say this
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just went, I've let John get made fun of it for it instead of me.
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's referring to the name equetics.
[SPEAKER_00]: You are Q U I D E X. I'm going with equetics.
[SPEAKER_00]: If this is going to be literally where you live is going to turn how you pronounce this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: So when Corland again, you know, when Corland was found on Ardemontia, he was revived by a tech priest that tech priest was equetics.
[SPEAKER_00]: Since that moment, equitics has gone missing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is because upon returning the Mars, equitics became predistillusioned with the actions of the fabricator general.
[SPEAKER_00]: Equitics had just seen the results of this orc incursion, and realized it's the greatest threat to the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he couldn't hear why the admec were not throwing all the resources after it.
[SPEAKER_01]: what he rolls back and finds out that they have hidden doctor evil underground labs full of doing tests on all the orc tech and orc biologies he didn't know why
[SPEAKER_00]: And we said in the last episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then Goreick had sent one of his main assassins to Mars to see what's going on over there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, he was saying, wait, why are these guys not getting super involved in this?
[SPEAKER_00]: This is scary.
[SPEAKER_00]: And one of his agents makes contact with their quidics and convinces a quidics to spy for the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_00]: A quidics agrees and brings the agent with them to witness one of the tests.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's also a terrible, cool dude, terrible spy, because he gets caught instantly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's a useless spy, and what they, what they, what they witnessed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's just, I'm sorry, I just, I couldn't stop laughing.
[SPEAKER_01]: In my mind, it's, I don't wanna use the reference a thousand times when it was just the Steve with Chevy.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, hello, fellow loyal, not spying on you, Ed.
[SPEAKER_01]: He just walked in and just started asking wildly obvious questions.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what are you doing right there with that secret project that I will definitely not let anybody know about?
[SPEAKER_01]: You're just like, really?
[SPEAKER_01]: That's how you're gonna go about it, Brad?
[SPEAKER_00]: With the secret project was, is the AdMEC.
[SPEAKER_00]: thought it was pretty cool that Orcs could teleport and moon-sized objects around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the ad-mic took that technology and decided to start playing with it themselves.
[UNKNOWN]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, as the bread said, earthquakes gets captured and turned in sentence to be turned into a servitor, because that's how they do stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: Portland sends the black Templars to go retreat to Mars to retrieve Aquatics.
[SPEAKER_00]: They land and it's a weird moment because they land and there's this massive force of ad-meck just kind of standing in front of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: No one's shooting anyone, but we're talking Skatari, Dune Crawler, his castlin robots all lined up in a military formation in front of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone's got this kind of moment.
[SPEAKER_00]: As the Black Templar go to land more stuff,
[SPEAKER_00]: the ad-mic fire off a warning shot that perfectly has a drop pot and blows it up at which point all help it breaks loose.
[SPEAKER_00]: Black Templar immediately attack because it is the black Templar.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing with the black Templar is they're pretty sure everyone's a heretic at all times and Mars are all heretics at all times.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this doesn't take much of a shove to say, I want you to slaughter Mars now.
[SPEAKER_00]: The black Templar went, yeah, I'm just slaughter Mars now.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they begin attacking on this before.
[SPEAKER_00]: They begin attacking.
[SPEAKER_00]: Luckily for everyone involved, the fabricator general Kubik is actually back on Terra and had watched Corland take control and was actually impressed by, Corland gave a whole long speech.
[SPEAKER_00]: I actually wasn't that good and I'm sorry, it wasn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he takes control and he decides to give this new Lord of the Imperium a chance.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's able, he issues an immediate ceasefire because they're ad-mechanner.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're all chipped.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as he says ceasefire, the ad would just stop shooting.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the Black Templar, they may stab a few guys who aren't resisting, but you know what ever it's Black Templar.
[SPEAKER_00]: We let Black Templar do what Black Templar need to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_00]: that this moment cubic tells Corlan what they're really up to, and that hey, and this is, by the way, it's not written the way it should have been, this should have been a super awkward conversation.
[SPEAKER_00]: The ad mix entire plan, the reason they didn't care about the work invasion is they were just gonna teleport Mars out of somewhere else.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there was, there was, there, there, planned was so bad though, because they were like, hey, where are you gonna send it?
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, somewhere else.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, where is the somewhere at this man?
[SPEAKER_00]: The whole plan was like, he has to sit there and say to him, yeah, the reason we didn't give you guys any help at all is because we were just going to move.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we were we were one hundred percent okay with the orcs destroying Tara because we weren't going to be nearby to watch it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to let you all of you die because I was going to leave anyways.
[SPEAKER_00]: Another cool thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the worst explanation ever.
[SPEAKER_00]: The cool thing to me though is that they did succeed to appoint.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were able to teleport one of the moons of Mars from one side of the planet to the other one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eventually, they find Aquidix, who's only half servitor at this point.
[SPEAKER_01]: They make this like, we rescued him.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not in great shape when they pick him up.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I also want to point out something that when they go and save Aquidix,
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not because the imperial fist feels so like deep love towards a person who's ate them, the fists are way too stoic for that thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: The reason the fists were looking for them is because equitics had spent a ton of time or argumenta researching the orics that he knew more about this organization than probably anyone in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they just learned from the Oregon ambassador that there's something called the beast, but that's all that they know.
[SPEAKER_00]: Aquatics being half servidor still had some of his memories left.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was able to share what he knew with him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is again revealed number two.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a super orc called the beast that is leading what's called a great law.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm gonna let you guys know something now.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll able to know this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why, by the way, is just war.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you know what a cockney accent is, if you don't look it up, but yeah, if you yell the word war and don't move your tongue while yelling it, it comes out as, wow.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what a Y is.
[SPEAKER_00]: A Y is an orc war, an orc declaration of war.
[SPEAKER_01]: They got fit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also in a quick that no one really came about him, old you dog is half servider.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, that's only reversible.
[SPEAKER_01]: No one helps him out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just, I mean, you might go full servider off this floor.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, who knows?
[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, hey, you have information.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you still have it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, you look gross.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: The next thing he does, he says, but he knows where the beast is.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the beast is on Ullinore.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so with this information, Corland takes it, goes back to the Imperium, he says, we're going to master the entire force of all of our Imperium, and we're going to Ullinore.
[SPEAKER_00]: He sends the Imperial Navy out to grab all the guardsmen who are stuck around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: He puts out a call to the all the other space marine factions to muster back at Terra.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's ready to lead the greatest military campaign since the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then Veritas Walkson says, Hey, by the way, I have some information for you.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then this is where things start getting super cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you love the Salabanda, this hope, this hope it's so funny though, because apparently Vulcan has been spotted.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the first time they've seen any prime market of thousand years.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Veritas didn't think this was pressing information.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wouldn't tell you.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was just like, he did just drop it like, oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, there's serving burritos in the cafeteria and I saw Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: But like Corridor's literally about to leave Terra to go on this campaign, he goes, oh, yeah, I know you're going there, but on the way, you might want to go to Caldera, because Vulcan's there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just throw it out there, and I'm sure Corridor's in Vulcan the Primark.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, folk in the primar.
[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't you open with this?
[SPEAKER_00]: This should have been like, check down the door.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a primar, someone don't pick him up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go to Vulcan now because it's going to make bread happy because we've done a lot of.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, it killed us.
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a super cool world for Vulcan because Vulcan is effectively a sister world because in the great crusade, they discovered this world and they had people from, not turn on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and we haven't covered nocturn yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we should point out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So his Vulcan's home world is a world called nocturn.
[SPEAKER_00]: Nocturn was routinely rated by the jokari.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's very early jokari's pre-vector, obviously, because of that, some of the people were spread around during the great crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of the people stolen from nocturn.
[SPEAKER_00]: and were being taken by the Jukari back to be tortured to death got saved by craft-ruled Eldar.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the two of them settled a planet together called Caldera and they lived in harmony.
[SPEAKER_00]: But, Pod Harmony came to a pretty rough conclusion when Vulcan, Ferris, Manus, and Mortarian arrived to tell the humans to come join the Imperium and in doing so turn on the Eldar who'd save them.
[SPEAKER_00]: The humans said no, just no.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if they have a long protracted battle, it's actually pretty cool when we cover Vulcan and the salameters will spend more time on this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we have, it's cool, but like just GW doesn't always have to be random in seconds every time.
[SPEAKER_00]: So again, we said last time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, random, the elder use in this battle, I
[SPEAKER_00]: Mind-controlled.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a really weird thing with the other.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like a mind-controlled Zeno.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's an insect with long claws and a metal thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just one time.
[SPEAKER_00]: One time, let it be a killer rabbit.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like a foul, cruel, bad, tempered rabbit with a vicious streak of mile wide and huge holy hand grenade?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Something that could only be killed by the most holy of weapons, like a holy hand grenade.
[SPEAKER_00]: That would be awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, protracted battle happens on the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vulcan gets mad at the populace for not seeing the light of the imperium and burns them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I think this is one of my favorites because I think this is when Vulcan's personality that has persevered to right now in current day forty-k really got changed because he felt
[SPEAKER_01]: immense sorrow for his action.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're much more forgiving than I am.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he felt real sorrow for burning to death millions of people who done nothing raw other than, hey, yeah, these guys saved us from being tortured to death by the jewelry man.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you guys want me to stab him in the back.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, ten thousand cool legs, but one murder of a planet makes you a planet murder?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you have to get dust.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really cool now though.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: He had a blip, blip, and he had a momentary leg.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's moments where he just turned an entire planet to the ground.
[SPEAKER_01]: killed three different races on the pedals.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, afterwards the Brad's point Vulcan was said and then Vulcan vowed that he would always protect the world of Caldera.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not the people of Caldera because they're all dead.
[SPEAKER_00]: He burned them all in.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the next group of people that they brought into Settle Caldera, he has some weird affinity to.
[SPEAKER_00]: This does become the fun part of this because the Orcs has part of the war of the beast and the descending on Caldera and they
[SPEAKER_00]: The, whereas every planet that works land on, they end up running over it.
[SPEAKER_00]: This one has a three meter tall power armor wearing giant hammer wielding immortal.
[SPEAKER_01]: actually Vulcan's taller than three meters because he's the tallest of the prime five three point five me.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I love this because Vulcan didn't just put on his little IDS kicking.
[SPEAKER_01]: He tied double knot of them because he goes in and starts leg.
[SPEAKER_01]: He starts giving coupons away for trips to beat down city.
[SPEAKER_01]: He is just wrecking them.
[SPEAKER_00]: What happens here is kind of hilarious.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vulcan with his giant hammer just posts up and just starts fighting orks and killing them by the thousands.
[SPEAKER_00]: At which point eventually he gets overwhelmed that he dies and he heals up and he starts all over again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you guys have seen the secret level with King Elstrom,
[SPEAKER_00]: else from lives, it comes back, but yes, else from lives, it hits the biceps and then goes back to punching the orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what's funny is that his presence and power is so great at the orcs on Cal Derrick can't help but just keep rushing him to fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: So
[SPEAKER_00]: Caldera the population of Caldera just kind of gets to hang back and watch because all the orcs are just trying to prove that they can beat him because why stab a little weak human when you can go beat up to human for the best the biggest of the best also he's so running this is with his
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the problem though is that while they're doing this, the planets actually really doomed.
[SPEAKER_00]: The orcs were on Caldera because the way that they make an attack mode is they build these like gravity generators and they suck a chunk of the planet up into one of their little things in orbit and turn it into an attack mode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Portland and them arrive in, oh my god, there's a primer.
[SPEAKER_00]: No one's see, remember, even the space marines are old enough at this point to have seen the primer.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking over a thousand years.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple that around.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously, be on the show handed, but he's driven.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying anyone who's not a dread, I'm not sure if anyone's still alive at this point.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a big deal.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's what I'm getting at.
[SPEAKER_00]: Corbin goes to the plant, he finds Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: Reinforces, helps Vulcan beat back to the Marxist system.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this planet is doomed, but terrorism real danger.
[SPEAKER_00]: We need you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Come with me.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go in the ship.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go back to Tara because no.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not leaving.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not leaving this planet so long as there are works here.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you can go, I'm going to go back to punching works.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Corland, to his credit goes, I'll punch the works too.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they deploy down to just save the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: The next bits hit missed depending on how much you end up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, well, it is a eighties montage of fighting.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this is a massive montage of fighting.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, eighty pages.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to skip all of that and press on like fifteen seconds.
[SPEAKER_00]: Space battles, land incursions, combined forces of imperial guard, Navy, Skikari, space brings out a primar.
[SPEAKER_00]: fight fight fight fight fight, they eventually get to the great gravity generator, which they kind of just blown this thing up from space, but they chose to do it on the ground.
[SPEAKER_01]: No idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you got to throw your hammer while you're standing in the distance.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, no, no.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're missing this is way better than that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they have a protracted battle.
[SPEAKER_00]: There was a stalemate and they're stuck outside the orcs are they can't get past the orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: The orcs are holding the ground in front of the gravity general and Vulcan just yells, Lee Roy Jenkins and jumps over everybody leaps a kind of like
[SPEAKER_00]: throw himself into the beam between the planet and the attack moon, and as it disintegrates his body, throws his hammer into the middle of it, blowing the thing up, which then, like Death Star style, blows up the attack moon and orbit, so the e-walks of Endor are dancing around and watching this, they explode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Caldera is saved, and then a short while later, a disintegrated Vulcan gets back up and goes, all right, so you said, Tara, we got to go back to Tara, all right, let's do some Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they both returned to Tara, and it's another very funny moment of the Lords of Tara.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vulcan walks in and it's whole trip back.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting the breakdown.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what's been going on.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's also not happy.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this to Brad's point over, you know, ten foot, whatever, like thirteen foot behemoth.
[SPEAKER_00]: want to imagine how terrifying it looks to see a primar with you just heard of them in a very and also he's one of the scarier looking primar sees out messed up or it's because he doesn't look a city in black in a job with with red eyes
[SPEAKER_00]: And he just sits there and walks in and informs the entire Lord's of Terra.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am only not gonna murder you all right now for the sake of unity of the Imperium, not for lack of you deserving it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he turns to the assembled forces and he says, I will personally lead the chapters of its space remains, who are like, ultimately they're all there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then everyone's, okay, the guards been the nail personnel, we're going to Ullinore and we're gonna slay the beast once and for all.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is really funny too, because he's semi-implies that when I'm done, I am coming back.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just for unity today, tomorrow, no guarantees.
[SPEAKER_01]: My calendar clears up.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm penciling murdering you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone will do because you guys suck.
[SPEAKER_00]: But who's story?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, from there, we're going to break.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason we're going to break at that point is the next chunk gets even more loopy for lack of a better phrase.
[SPEAKER_00]: The stuff that when they go to U-N-R gets crazy and it gets crazy really fast.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to do, I think this is going to be forecast skies just given that we're at number two right now and we haven't gotten to the beast yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then we start to cover post B. What's considered the main battle and then post.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot to get through.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're probably going to do it forecast on this.
[SPEAKER_00]: But we hope this one's been fun for you.
[SPEAKER_00]: As you can hear, Brad's happier today because the lords of terror just took a bunch of else.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a much better day for him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll get showed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Vulcan's there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Brad's always happy when Vulcan's there.
[SPEAKER_00]: For those of you who have read the books, I hope we're doing this justice.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're trying to compress
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, books, I mean, this is probably forty hours of reading into like four hours.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But until next week, this has been John Barsati and Brett Jester.
