Okay, we have a lot to get into, so let's start the Morning Mess with Naughty Dog put up a video basically responding to all those leaks yesterday, and they're like, hey, we are making improvements. There was a lot of anxiety about this yesterday, Ben where yeah, and it wasn't It did not seem to be coming necessarily from like, oh, the Xbox fans point poking at the PlayStation mans. This was like a Naughty Dog Last of US fans being like, man, seventy dollars and you're not making any gameplay improvements. Now. We talked about this on the show yesterday. Yeah, but they Sony and Naughty Dog have come out since, put out a blog, put out a video sort of addressing these exact concerns, and I guess I'll read from Sid Schumann at the PlayStation Block, who gives a little bit of details here. They also put up a video. While the Last of Us Part one can render native four k AT target at thirty frames per second or dynamic four k AT targeted sixty frames per second, and feature PS five mainstays like a dual sense wireless controller, haptics, trigger effects, and three D auto audio. It's clear that there's a lot more going on here than a simple resolution and framary bump. It's a complete overhaul. There's like more details here, but like, where were you at with this when this stuff was happening yesterday? Were you concerned about the like, oh, the seventy dollar price tag and doesn't seem like there's a lot of gameplay improvements. Yeah, I hear you. I'm in the camp of and maybe this is overly simplistic, but semnilar price tag. If that's too expensive for you, it turns up, just don't buy it. You don't got to roast the developers online. It's pretty easy thing. Just kind of vote with your wallet situation in the video that they released today, I at least appreciate that when they do the whole like Cleraton clear transition from the old version to the new version, right that they go from the PS four pro to PS five. You know, it would have been easier for them to go from like PS three tops five to be like ce Ce. But at least they're trying to show, you know, they're giving me a little bit of the benefit of the doubt of like, okay, actually from the best version of the past, this is the transition, So you got to give them some credit for that. That means. And also, like most people probably played that original version and not the remastered version overall. I mean, maybe it's over time that it's matched, but I think most people who are coming back to this one are probably like I played it when originally came out, so this is going to be a bigger jump for me. Yeah. But then when they're messaging, like one of the big notes they hit early on from one of the developers, the creative director of the remake over there a Shawnaskeg, who's interesting developer. We can talk about him later, but you know when he's getting out of the gate pretty early on by talking about the pupil depth in the PS five version, you will fall into the eyes of the characters. And did we mention the density of the physics objects? I feel like it's so granular. It's it's telling that like they're really fine tuning this thing, and no doubt it looks better. But I don't understand the outrage about it. It's a pretty easy pass if you don't like it. But it is puddle news, right it is. Yeah, the game is not out yet. I am imagining how I want to feel when I spend this much money, and right now I don't feel that way. Almost inevitably, invariably when this happens, people get the game and then they stop having all those anxieties. They just end up most of the time enjoying the product. Maybe you have some other complaints, but the complaints you have before you play it almost never translate over to when you actually start playing it. This is all just anxiety about about fomo and about spending money, and people just it's pretty irrational overall, right, And it's like we keep doing the stance over and over. We wish people would learn, but it doesn't. It turns out that's usually not how it works, right, Yeah, And so there's not big gameplay changes. There's AI improvements, which James talked about, and I feel like everybody in the industry it's like, oh, you know what they should improve the next generation is the AI. And then every time developers kind of go in depth, like Okay, here's how the AI is better. It's more a tough thing to sell in a sexy way, but maybe will have some effect for some players out there, you know. Yeah, I mean, I think clearly the issue here is that people have played the Last of US Part two, really enjoyed the gameplay improvements there, and they were expecting that this would be the Last of US Part two. Gameplay just completely ported wholesale into Last of US Part one. They never said they were going to do that people just assumed the things they are doing is like, yes, there's gonna be mumpables and chippables, you can shoot stuff off the environment. It's that's gonna be more realistic. Your enemy or your companion AI, they are going to behave in a way that feels more realistic and is more in line with if you're hiding. They also will be hiding in a way that the enemies can't see. And that's gonna be nice for immersion and stuff like that. You are not going to get the exact gameplay experience to the last of Us Part two. And I think that's I mean, I don't know if you know. Again, it goes back to if that's not enough for you to spend seventy dollars, there's a very clear option here for you, right right, Yeah, I think people were maybe expecting more of like the twin snake scenario, right Like, we're taking the best for Murgers Hold two and putting it back in that original But you've left out the juiciest part of this video, which is the haptics on that giraffe petting. They went out of their way to like show the pattern of the hand and how you'll be able to actually feel the giraffe and your controller. Which know that's something I tell you what I've I have petted draft before. And if we can get anywhere close. There's a zoo in Colorado called the Shiant Mountain Zoo and you go like actually up in the mountains and then you you can feed the drafts lettuce they like, they sell the lettuce there for like five bucks or whatever, and it's great and they come right up to and you feed them and the kids or feed them. And I'm just like petting this draft. And if they can get anywhere close to that, to that magic of petting draft, I'll be I'll be very happy. Draft great. Do you think like the engineers over at Sony or at Naughty Dog, we're able to like expense a trip to the zoo, like we actually need the petted gidraft just to figure out what it would feel like in the five controller. And what's the point of all this if they aren't getting the chance to expense trips to the zoo, I don't I don't get what we're doing here if if developers don't get that one benefit at least, all right, let's my beef with this thing is Sony's messaging, and I'm sure you've talked about it on the show before, but their messaging of saying completely rebuilt from the ground up is how they phrase it. And even in the blog post they say, quote from the art direction to the character models, the entire game has been rebuilt from the ground up. It's like, well, you're saying from the art direction to the character models. I feels like all that's really being rebuilt in a big way here, like just the video industry needs to lock down his terminology for rebuilt from the ground up that means a Residueval two remake, because even Sony had this problem with two Shadow of the Classus with Blue Point, they're like rebuilt from the ground up. And then you know, back when I was a Game Informer, we interviewed Blue Point about that remake and dove into the weeds and it's like, yeah, it's not from the ground up. It's kind of like a weird fusion of Blue Points improvements and kind of their engine engine layering over the original version with the Shadow of the Colossus, and it feels like that's kind of what's happening here as well. So Sony has to freaking knock it off with the rebuilt from the ground up because it's throwing everything out else in the industry off. I mean, because you have a situation where you have a house and you can, you know, rebuild that house in a way where you are like stripping off the sides and you keep the frame and you build up everything, and it's like, Okay, that's pretty close to remaking a house, but it's not looking at a house and be like, I'm going to make that house again somewhere else completely from the ground up. That's like, and that's a major distinction. That is there's a completely and we have this in games. We know what that looks like rising Eable too, and then we also know that there's this vast chasm of or this vast spectrum there after that where it's like it could be any like this Metroid remaster that's come up. It's a it's a little bit more than a remaster, but it's definitely not a remake. It's like that sort of thing where it's like, we struggle to nail this stuff down, and then Sony's messaging is not helping here. It says one thing that we assume means something specific, and it means like, well, we are completely rebuilding the character models from the ground up, and maybe not even like completely reworking the animations, maybe not even completely working the game play. It's okay, then why are you saying this one term that we think means this one thing. It's gonna it's gonna be like, you know, helping to fuel kind of the fans getting riled up and angry when you're messaging that way. It's like, yeah, of course they're going to get extra, but you could see it. You could feel the tension there though, right because you if you make these big, bold promises, that makes it easier to sell it for seventy dollars. If you're on the marketing team and you're like, hey, can we say this is built from the ground up, it's like and then someone who's like actually doing this work explains like, well, listen, it's complicated. There's all kinds of stuff, Like we are doing a lot of work. This is intense stuff. I feel like I'm the things I'm doing, I am building the stuff from the ground up or whatever, but it's not the entire And then like the marketing person runs away so's thanks, And then they go and they start writing blog posts that like they kind of sound like they have completely reworked the game. Right. I get how these things happen, but you do kind of wish like, let's specify exactly what we mean and come up like with the define terminologies. When when developers come to us with what they are doing with their old games, especially when they're trying to sell them for full price, you can kind of come forward, come forward, and like we can know what they mean when they say what they say. Yeah, by the way, not to be too podcast producer. I think I can hear a little bit of that VIDOC in the back. You probably can. I can. Actually I could probably turn it down for you. I was like, yeah, there you go. Everybody, all right, let's I want to keep talking without this. I think it's really interesting more please, I actually want to keep going. Yeah, I think it's it's interesting and it's it's easy to get railed up on the fan base side of things, but at the same time, it's helping a new batch of game developers get more comfortable with the tools over their Naughty Dog. You know, even in that video how they're showing like Okay, we have Matthew Gallant as the game director for this remake, and then shaunas Kaig who came back to Naughty Dog after being the creat director at Avengers with Crystal Dynamics. So it's helping that new team and new talent rise up with the Naughty Dog get more comfortable and ultimately it's easy to not be wowed by the idea of a remake of the last first part one, but if it gets those game developers, surfaces new talent at Naughty Dog and then also makes them more comfortable so they can work on the new IP or whatever Neil Druckman's big project is that they're working on now, like it's all for the best ultimately, Yeah, I mean this is It's not like movies where it's like we are scaling up and we're gonna bring on this staff and then when their job is done, they leave and they go work on a different project at a completely different company, because they are all inherently freelance and part of these unions, they are paying these people every single day to be there. So giving them something concrete that can turn into a major product and at the same time give them the skill and give them the experience that they need to be doing the jobs that they are going to be required to do on the next major release from Naughty Dog. That stuff is invaluable and it makes all the sense in the world, and I'm glad they found the project like that that made sense for them. I mean, I think that it's very easy for us to be like, oh, that we don't need this game, but you know a lot of people are going to show up for this game and pay the money, and it's going to make sense business from a business perspective, from a development perspective, from a talent perspective, and so it's like when it checks all those boxes, it is kind of inevitable, inevitable that something like this is going to happen. You've got you kind of hope that maybe the skates into like Okay, well, hopefully you can keep this going. I understand a lot of this team's probably is going to go work on the next Neil Drugman thing after this, but you know, when they get another chance, like maybe Uncharted next, maybe now that you have this foundation, you can go the next step and do even more for another remake, and we get a remake of the original uncharted. That would be fantastic in my opinion. And the part that I'd love more clarity on and maybe you have some inside into this is like the origins of this remake, because according to Jason Schreier's reporting, it was that ASG Service team. Yeah, yeah, that started working on the remake as a way to kind of test the studio and prove to Sony that they can be a full Sony studio, and then it seemed like they got absorbed into Naughty Dog to help finish up the last last part two and then this project kind of rolled over with them. So I don't think the way they're pitching that in the video is very genuine from my perspective, at least where they say like we just thought it Naughty Dog. Wouldn't it be cool to see the last first part one look as good as lasts part two, because it seems like it was kind of an adopted project at least according to that reporting. Yeah, I mean that's exactly what I heard as well. And I will say that I think the two both things could be true. Whenever, like you hear multiple stories, I always say, like, look for the place where both things can be true. I bet within Naughty Dog they were having conversations like this, and then I bet they look over and see the Visual Arts Group was like, oh, you guys are already working on it. We actually we were going to do that and this is our baby, so make it happen. And that project with the Visual Arts Group was always on shaky footing. They were going to sort of be like, hey, can we take over the uncharted games? Like can we do that since Naughty Dug's not going to be doing that for a while, and they were like Sony leadership was like, hey, I don't know that is that's tough maybe maybe, and kept them hanging for a really long time. And then in the meantime they're like, well, what about if we like proved ourselves remaking on chart or remade up remaking the Last of Us? And that's like that got a little bit further. But that was also on the shaky footing where it's like, listen, we don't know if this is actually gonna happen, And then once Naughty Dog showed up to take it over, it was like, okay, yep, this is you guys aren't working on this anymore. And then the people that were working on that game, many of them started looking around for like other shot because they were pretty frustrated by that interaction with Sony, and so they were like, oh, we're leaving the Visual Arts group, let's go say we can pitch stuff too, you know, Microsoft or whoever else. But I don't know, ended up happening with a lot of those people. Yeah, it definitely seems like with Sony one of their main missions is don't piss off the cash cow, which is Naughty Dog. It's kind of the prize jewel, right, and so you know, back at Game Informer, going on so many cover story trips of Sony, it was always don't piss off Naughty Dog. Like Days Gone, don't mention the Last of Us as a comparison point because Naughty Dog won't like that. It was a lot of that type of stuff. So I'm sure if any studio wants to tackle Uncharted or anything else Naughty Dog's worked on, it's going to be very you know, a very I don't know, a high bar to clear before give it a thumbs up. Yeah, and that stuff they might like relax on later, but for now they tend to be like very protective of that stuff. And I can I can get that to a certain extent. U Ubisoft had its earnings yesterday. They basically Real Quick, Rainbow six, Siege, and Assassin's Creed carry Ubisoft to three hundred and twenty four point four million and orly revenue. This comes from Dean Takahashi at games Beat French video game giant. Ubisoft reported earnings for its first fiscal quarter and did June thirtieth with revenue shrieking ten percent from three nine point six million a year ago to three hundred and twenty four point four million. So, like many publishers right now, seen a decline, but things aren't declining quite as fast as I think Ubisoft was expecting, so there's a little bit of a silver lining there. Mostly this report, though, for like, based on the Ubisoft earnings call yesterday, comes down to a lot of news about what's happening with Assassin's Creed, what's happening with other games at Ubisoft. This comes from Tom Ivan at VGC. Assassin's Creed Infinity will report reportedly include a game with an Asian setting. One of the Assassin's Creed games in development will will reportedly have an Asian setting. That's according to Kataku, which claims that the title is an open world Assassin's Creed game called a code named Project Read. I've previously talked about this where they I think Assassin's Creed is going to go to Japan finally at least table yes, and this I wasn't the one percent from this, but all this stuff lines up. And then since then this morning, I've been able to sort of wrap around with like what Kotaku said, It's like, it seems like, yes, this is happening. And then Jason Tryer came out from Bloomberg and said, hey, yeah, this is the stuff that's going to be a part of Assassin's Creed Infinity, And that was the part where it's like, I'm pretty sure that's the case as well. So it's nice to kind of have a lot of these things begin to slot into place. So basically, what's up next for Assassin's Creed is that Rift game, which is gonna starve boss them from Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it's going to take place in the Middle East, Jerusalem, Baghdad, that that region, and then we should get Assassin's Creed Infinity, which will have these modules like Assassin's Creed read that will take players to Japan or whatever. I've heard another follow up that's probably also going to be a part of that, and I think they might announce it as part of the thing in September, So I don't want to spoil it. But it sounds very cool. It sounds very neat. So there's cool stuff. Happy with Assassin's Creed, but on the other hand, you'd be Soft has also announced that it canceled four games. This is from Eddie mccouit game spot uh Ubisoft cancels four games, including splinter Cell VR and Ghost recon Frontline. On the same day that Ubisoft delayed Avatar Frontiers on Pandora, which we had talked about yesterday Everybody and a smaller premium game. The publisher also confirmed that it has canceled four games. These include splinter Cell VR and Ghost recon Frontline, as well as two unannounced titles from Ubisoft which they did not disclose. While splinter Cell VR game has been canned, fans of the series are still getting that remake of the original game and asked for Ghost recon Frontline. This was the free to play Battle Royale game. As for the other two unannounced games that have now been canceled. It's anyone's guess as to what they might be. And I actually was trying to figure out what they were, and I wasn't able to nail those down. But I had heard that Ghost recon Frontline was one of the ones sort of getting pushed to the side in favor of Codename Reaper, which is a battle royale based on the Division. But BEN want to sort of get like you, you're sort of a temperature on Ubisoft overall. All that said, Assassin's going one way that with its life Service project, after we get the Riff game, that's going to be a lot more like older Assassins Creed games. And then Ubisoft canceling all these other games. Ow like, what is the state of Ubisoft in your eyes? It's not good, Jeff, It's not good. It's it's shaky. You know, it's sad that somebody you know, I think I pay pretty close attention to the industry, and even I am kind of confused about, like, wait, what's coming up? What is the Division Heartland? Again? I know these are all Ubisoft originals, but like just the Sea of Tom Clancy adjacent stuff with nothing of Ubisoft Tom Glancy games these days. Yep, just a bunch of guns out there. So it's sad, you know. I was actually I know it's not popular, but I was at least curious about that Ghostbreak on Frontline. I don't have kind of the sanctity for the ghost Rereak on brand that a lot of fans do, I understand, But I've been looking for a game that takes ideas from Escape from Tarkov and makes it a little more approachable, and I thought maybe that would be it. I don't know what other games out there. I think the Cycle just came out recently that I heard some good thing, and that's the one that everyone seems to be really into right now. Is the cycle that I mean that stuff's gonna happen, I get. I bet that it's going to be multiple indie takes on Tarkoff and then eventually Call Duty will figure out a mode that used to and that will become the other big one or four. I think you're right, Yeah, that is probably the war Zone successor will have something that incorporates it in some way. Yeah, and I'm sure Ubusoff will keep looking at it. Ubstuff is trend chasing constantly that codename REAPERB Division Battle Royale game. They really want a Battle Royale this time it sounds like the So they took this off the shelf. This was another game that they had put to the side because it like got really unfavorable playtest, so they're taking it down. They're retooling it with rogue light features, and like you could just see like someone like kind of really get into hades and coming back and be like, hey, like rogue lights are popular now, so maybe we could try that or something. And you could see them trying to fit in like Tarkoff like ideas into a mode like that. But they are just going to keep throwing stuff at the wall with these different trends until something sticks and just seems like, right now, that is a rough strategy because for Ubisoft, a lot is not sticking to the wall. Yeah, And I'm trying to think of you know, if you had to measure the outrage for as it was originally announced, Tom Clancy's Ex Defiant versus Ghost reac on Frontline, which do you think got more hate? I mean I would say that hate. I think X Defiant probably got more hate, But I think Ghost recon Frontline was in a worse position because I feel like it got even less attention. Overall. I think people just didn't even realized Ghost recon Frontline was even a thing. Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. And I think X Definant was like we lost the Tom Clancy part. We dropped that a part like us now right, we've got think spray paint. Tom Clancy would love us. That studio, I mean, Uboft San Francisco so fascinating, the idea that they went from rock Smith to the South Park RPG sequel to X Defiant, Like that studio has range bappressive stuff, but you be Stoft. Overall, they're in such a weird spot. I mean, Roller Champions came out and as far as I can tell, is relatively quiet. That said Leo Vader, who also records stuff with mid Max. He got into it with his friends and he's all about it. He's like, actually, this game rules, and like the high level play is really fascinating. Which game is that? Again? I'm sorry? I was Worlder Champions. Yes I have I yet to play it, but I know people that seem to have a really good time with it. But I also know a lot of people who did their one weekend with playing that game with their friends and haven't gone back. Yeah, But that and then Reter's Republic last year, which is another one that Levator also loved, but it seems like it's not making a huge splash. And then they had a quiet project which is fascinating to me called The Settlers. Do you remember this? Do you know what about this? I don't remember this. So it was like a survival sim city builder type of game, and The Settlers is like this old German franchise going back to you know, early nineties on PC. And they had like this reboot of the game called The Settlers coming out and I played the alpha version and it seemed all right to me, and then they just quietly infinitely delayed it. So it's kind of in that beyond an evil territory and who knows if that don't even come back. But just Ubisoft is all over the place and this They do a lot of playtesting. They do a lot of pushing this game back, pushing it back, pushing it back. You kind of wish that it would almost like embrace I mean, I don't know, I would almost rather they embrace early access. But I suppose when they did that, they did that with like hyper Escape, right, that didn't work out either, So there's no way answer here for them other than they kind of need to just figure out their ship. And I can ask you, how did you feel about Immortals Phoenix Rising. I wanted to like it a lot more than I did, say, yeah, I like that studio. I like Scott Phillips who was the director over there, his roots going back to Saints Row and stuff, So I was really excited about the pitch and the premise, and then playing it, I was like, Eh, I understand the videos a little little grading, but I like the ideas here. And then I was really excited for the standalone DLC that Myths of the Eastern Realm. I was like, Oh, going to China, that's kind of interesting. And then the reviews weren't hot on that, so I'm give it another shot at some point. So the Ubisoft back the team that was worked on this series, they are working on a follow up. It's not necessarily a sequel, because it's not like going to continue the same characters in the same world or anything like that. What I've heard is that it's called Project Oxygen. You're gonna be able to play as a man or a woman, because that's what you be stuff does in a lot of these games now. And it's going to be based on Hawaiian slash Polynesian culture, which I think is a pretty good basis for a game. Now. They want to also completely rework the visuals, so it's a visual reboot, is how they're framing it, where it's like they don't want it to be like, oh, we are trying to ape Breath of the Wild. We are going to be doing our own thing, and I suppose I mean, hey, we'll take a look at I'll put this on the site right now, everybody, and then you might not be able to see this unless you go to the giant bomb dot com slash chat. But here's an image of the game that was leaked to me. It's called Project Oxygen. You can kind of see that. Yeah, there's you could feel the link of the lineage to Immortal's Phoenix Rising, but it also looks very different, very separate from that. So yeah, and it's the rock I mean, yeah, I mean that's kind of yes, correct, that's where he's from. Correct, I mean, honestly, though, I mean, they might have a kind of built in fan base with every fantom Mijuana out there. Right, if you're like, hey, you like Maui from Mauana, Well, here's the game where Maui's probably going to be a character in it, right, Well, I mean I think, like honestly, like movies like that do go a long way towards being like, hey, we could try other things, right, we could try other settings that maybe we would not we would have been scared off from trying previously. The game's probably not coming out until twenty twenty five, and that narrator will not maybe not that specific narrator, but a narrator will return, And I just hope they have a verbosity slider, right, just give me the verbosity slider so I can like turn it down or something like that. Also, I also wonder if they have more time with the writing team, because from what I remember about a more Mortals finish Rising, it was kind of rebooted later on with the name change and everything, right, and I felt like a lot of the vo was kind of packed in later after the facts. So maybe if they had more time to sit on it and incorporate feedback, I think they can do a less obnoxious. Yes, and you could, like you could still have fun with that concept. Overall, it just h and it. You know, I got over it. That was not the reason that I did not stick with that game. It was just like I get it and I I put it down. I just put it down. It didn't pick it up again one day. Yeah, yeah, I was rooting for It's nice to see new ip that's taking some chances out there. At least 're not just slapping Tom Clancy's gods and monsters or something. Yes, yeah, so they're dropping the breadth of the wild comparisons maybe, but I wonder if they're gonna pick it up the wind Waker comparisons now, right, exactly right? If this is about because I mean, this is a seafaring culture, like yeah, from island to island, right that mean, and hey, I wouldn't hate that. I think that would be very cool if I could be spending a lot of my time in this game selling around exploring the sea. That is a thing I never get sick of in games. Yeah, well, look forward to sculling bones then well maybe not maybe not always enjoy it and we'll see, all right, Uh, let's see Epic won't ban NFT games In response to Minecraft Dance, Tim Sweeney says this comes from Jordan Midler at VGC. Epic boss Tim Sweeney has said that the company won't ban the sale of games featuring NFTs on its Epic Game Store platform, claiming it's wrong to interfere and how developers make their games. Developers should be free to decide how to build their games, Sweeney replied to someone who asked about this, and you are free to decide whether you play them. I believe stores are operating system makers shouldn't interfere by forcing their views onto others. We definitely won't. I kind of I think he's in a good position here where this is the sort of sorting sorting itself out where there's not going to be a lot of games that are going to go to Epic and be about, you know, engaging in NFT ecosystems, right, I guess so, yeah, so you can just say, decide for yourself and then years from now it'll never be a story to'll never be an issue. Right. It's just that he's answering the thing that isn't really a problem because the NFT market is going to be going in a completely different direction than the kinds of games that end up on Epic At least that's what it seems like today. We're in such a weird, I don't know, second or third or fourth phase of NFT discussions and feel like as a culture where now anybody getting out there and talking about NFTs, I mean, they're just a punching bag. Right. It's like John Garvin for the Day's Gone team getting out there talking about that new Web three point zero game. It's like, what are you doing? Where were you eight months ago? When even then it would have felt a little bit dated, and now you can just you know, discussions about NFT is even from somebody like Tim Tim Sweeney's is it? Do we really need to address this in a big way? But right? I mean, and this is clearly coming from his perspective of when he says, I don't think stores in operating system should he is not thinking about the Epic Games story. He's thinking about how he wants windows to treat his stuff. He's thinking about how he wants Steam to treat him and so he's like, I'm going to work backwards from that, and therefore this is how we would want to be treated and sure that's the Golden rule and all that stuff. That's fair. I just don't know if this is that much about NFTs. It's much more about like Tim Sweeney's feeling about systems overall. Yeah, this is a cleared opposite in the spectrum from NFTs. But this is a deep cut. Do you remember there was an old making of for Gears of War one? Any chance he ever watched that? I don't think so Okay, uh, you know it's a cliffy be talking to uh Bill Gates and stuff like that. But there's this there's this whole section where Tim Sweeney is giving a tour of his house, and of course it's what like two thousand and six, so they have to shoot it like MTV cribs. It's just really have not just editing. It's Tim Sweeney, like check out my bean bags. We and there's no part. There's this part that's just fascinating now that Tim Sweeney is one of the wealthiest men on Earth or whatever, where Tim Sweeney is just showing the camera crew how he can climb a tree and it's okay, I have seen this. I was gonna says, they climbs a tree. I love that shit. It's Michael Jackson esque. It's really bizarre, especially now that he's just climbed up the ladder for being incredibly important to yeah over now you know, it's like, yeah, here's one of the richest men in the world and now here's him going like, look at me, I can climb a tree. Mom. By the way, he's a grown man here. It's I don't know whatever, I'm not gonna yet. Anybody see him. If you like climbing trees, go go get it. But it doesn't who does. Very funny. I really enjoyed that video. As soon as you started going in that direction. I'm like, I think it's gonna be the tree things. Talking about the tree thing. Yes, I think I've definitely tweeted about it before. All right. Online services for Kills Own, Shadow Fall, Kill his Own, Mercenary, and Riggs Mechannice Combat League will end on August twelve, Gorilla tweeted on twelfth August twenty twenty two, online services for these games will will shut down. Aline features, including all my multiplayer modes, will cease on that date. Single player offline modes remain available. Not too surprising, Mercenary. Was that the Vita game? Yes, it was. Yeah, So I mean that's the kind of thing where I'm like, yeah, of course, that's kind of And shadow Fall was a launch game for PS four, right, and Riggs. I don't I would imagine that you would probably have a pretty hard time getting a match of Riggs going, which I think was the was that one of the VR games that they did. It's a name that I haven't thought about in a law exactly. I saw that, I'm like, oh man, I think I played that like when it first launched, and then I put it down and immediately it left my brain. So yeah, I mean, I kind I can't blame them. I hope they have some big celebration going out party, kind of like a Star Wars Galaxies thing where everybody who's really into Riggs Mechanized Combat League can gather together for Yeah, it's it's strange. Actually, just a not too long ago, a couple weeks ago, I actually tried playing some multiplayer for kills on shadow Fall because I remember liking the little bit that I played. But it turns out with the new PS plus and stuff, I was just trying to stream it. But you can't you actually have to download that because there's like DLC maps and stuff, so you couldn't even stream the multiplayer for Kills Own shadow Fall. But yeah, it's it's sad to see the stuff go offline. There's there's some fans out there that would still want to play this kind of thing where it's like one day someone is gonna be like, hey, we should go back to place and Kills Own shadow Fall, and you just won't be able to something something crazy is we're doing the deepest dive on Jack and Daxter right now, which is our huge community game club series where we have what we like to call the best must discussions about games on the Internet. And so we're going really in depth with the community on Jack and Daxter. And this is going somewhere, I promise. But Jennifer Sea is on that and Charles McGregor. But then also Mystic Ryan, who's a big PlayStation YouTuber, is on and on the first episode we're talking about his YouTube channel and stuff, and he has this whole series which is fascinating where he's going back and playing PS three games to see which servers are still online and what he can still play, and apparently you can still play stuff like Fat Princess online. You can still play God of War Ascensions multiplayer online. It's all peer to peer stuff is the way that you're hitching it. So it's bizarre that with PS four stuff going offline, technically some of these really old games on PS three there's still technically a community out there playing. But I don't know. I would love to meet like the world's biggest fan of God of War Ascension multiplayer because I would like to have a beer with them. Yeah, like just like once a month, they're like, all right, guys, let's get back in our Ascension game. I can't wait to hang out you guys to start our monthly playing thing. So the one time I get to talk to you guys, and that's all we ever do. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure that crews out there are any of you playing that PC like Decompiled Port of Jack and Dexter for Jack and Dexter for your for the deepest No, No we aren't. Charles McGregor's playing on Vita. That's as funky as we're getting. I was. I was looking at getting on Steam Deck with that version because there's definitely a lot of people out there talking about how that might be the coolest way to play a Jack and Daxter because the Vita versions a little jank and the frame rate kind of sucks. But no, I wanted to stream it and stuff, so I'm like, I'll just go ahead and play them, right. Yeah. I was thinking about actually doing the like that PC version on steam Deck, so I was going to look into that, and I saw you guys are doing that. I'm like, oh, that might be fun. I've never played a Jack and dexter, so yeah, I was playing it, trying to play it for the first time. I'm sad to say that it maybe too nauseated and I had to bow out for the second half of the discussion, which is sad. But in terms of these servers are going off fline, I think it's interesting because this was all Gorilla Cambridge. These are like all of their games and they were shut down in twenty seventeen. But it's bizarre and I would think of like Gorilla and Horizon being you know, hot shit for Sony here and now they're like trying to find other studios to make Horizon games, and like that flip of closing this studio that worked on all these games and now trying to find other studios that work on side projects. It seems like a bizarre one eighty Yes, it's well, I mean, it's just it's just the weirdest cycle that is video game production, where yeah, you have these high tides and low tides, and you make decisions and low tides where it's off of you would have just held out when a one high tide came, you would have been in a much better situation. Now here's like stuck scrambling trying to figure out like who can we get to the partner with for a VR game based on this? Yeah, it's it's it's weird and well, but that's just how it video games always are. It's so hard for people to anticipate things being different than they are today. Yeah, and even the director of Kills on shadow Fall, Stephen I can't pronounce the last time. I apologize it's Dutch, but they're kind of m I A like in twenty seventeen, he's like, all right, I'm leaving Gorilla Cambridge and it's shutting down goodbye. I'm ready to announce my new project soon. And he hasn't announced anything since twenty seventeen. So maybe they're secretly building up studio and then that team would tackle a dou haut it or something. You never know. Maybe uh. Nintendo Warren's against further usage of its two thousand and five era Wi Fi adapter. This comes from Grace beIN Fellow Games, but Nintendo released the statement warning customers to cease usage of the Nintendo Wi Fi USB connector. That's the statement warrants against potential viral attacks. Nintendo tweeted the information out on their official Japanese account. As first noticed by Go Nintendo and more extensively written up by Nintendo Life, The perp role was released back in two thousand and five, and Span got an exclusive version called the Wi Fi Network Condaptor in two thousand and eight. In those by gone times, WiFi was not as common as it is today. It's pretty well to think about it, but I guess it's true. The USB connector plugged into a PC connected to a broadband and allowed Nintendo devices to have access to the network. Those without WiFi could, with a little extra cash cash connector devices and enjoy online features. But now this thing is open to a lot of security threats and liabilities. And Nintendo's like, please don't use this. The idea was like you could just like if your computer had Internet, you just plug it this thing and then Nintendo devices will be able to find it automatically. It was just like this Wi Fi broadcasting thing that work, you know, or a WiFi dongle. It was always like, I'll just my router. I never needed to use a thing like this. I wonder if there's anyone who still gets online with their we and their DS using this thing, or if a this Nintendo lawyer's just being very very thorough and they're making sure they don't get sued. Yeah. Probably. The we speak is still safe though, right right, we speak is forever. That's what I was told. That's what I was told, absolutely you. That's actually what I'm using from my microphone for all them in next podcast. Is just what we speak, so please perfect. Resident Evil Village DLC trailer shows off playable Lady Demotresque. I think I got that one. Capcom has released a new trailer for Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, set for release on October twenty eighth. The Gold Edition will include the Bass game with three major new features, which will also be released separately as wind as the Winter's expansion and update to Mercenaries mode called Additional Orders, which is the focus of the latest trailer below, introduces new playable characters, including Lady Demotresc, Chris Redfield, and Heisenberg. See I'm gonna go over there. You're excited to finally get to control the Big Lady? Is that what people want? I think they want the Big Lady to control, Yeah, your throat specifically, Yes, as far as I understand the internet. Yeah, I'm sure there are some people who are going to be very excited about the concept of, like I'm going to be the big domineering lady as I walk around this space. Right, Yeah, it's fun. It's just it's fun to have like a range and height for first person games, and everyone is roughly five foot eleven and every first person game, right except for what BioShock two, we're a little bit taller there because you're the big daddy. I forget, what was Jaws from Golden Eyes? That the tall one and then the short one. Yeah, yeah, you're right, So that's that's kind of a fun novelty. But I'm excited. I think it's it's cool to see Capcom kind of you know, I love when developers come back to games and really go all out for just trying to remix everything that they packed in there and like including the third person stuff and then adding on and mercenaries in this way. Like it's fun to see them kind of remix stuff for Orisinable Village and go all out with a final version of it. Right, And this is a game that's like just got it's enough popularity and enough like it did really well in terms of building up this momentum around it where any reason to go back to it. There's gonna be a lot of people who show up for that, and then a lot of people who just were started on the periphery watching this discussion happen and being sort of scared by the big you know, everyone's like really horny for this big lady. Well, now you have a good reason to get back in there and try it out for yourself. I'm all four stuff like this. What you like? What do you think the timeline is for like Resident Evil going forward? Because they've been on this nice cadence of you know, a new numbered game, a new remake. These things happen, like you know, they take turns in sort of, well, this happens one year, this happens the next year. Seems like that's going to slow down a little bit, right as we get to like Residable four and beyond. I guess, so, yeah, where's Evil nine? Maybe what twenty twenty four, twenty five? What do you think? Probably twenty twenty four. We'll probably start hearing about it here pretty soon, like in the next year or so, and then it'll come out in twenty twenty four. I would I would hope. I would hope that would be the case. And then that means Resident Evil four remake next year, right, like that would be pretty cool. Well, yeah, I mean remake was at January next year, they have a data Yeah, yeah, that's right, Yes, that's right. You ever well, yes, because dead Space is coming around around the same time, right, I remember them all being bunched up, and then Clostal Protocol was just before that in December, right, so yeah, they all got bunched up. So yeah, so the Resuval four that's and then yeah, I would hope that nine comes out in twenty twenty three and then kind of get right back on this. Then what do you think happens after that with the remake side of things. Yeah, that's a great question. Uh. I mean the cool choice, well, the cold choice is ultimately Dino Crisis, But on the resuval front, the cool choice for a remake would be Code Veronica, right, a game that has a lot of love, but it could use and overhaul. Can you improve a system systems? Here and there? March twenty four for a resume before remake chattist everybody. Oh, that's sorry because that was the trailer that actually started with the date, which was so weird, so it shouldn't be more locked into my brain. But I think they're probably gonna go remake of one again, but with the of like the two and three and four remake, right, that seems they definitely don't need it, but it would definitely sell. So yeah, I think they. I think you might be onto something there. Yeah, yeah, we'll see. Okay. Switch Sports is adding new football and volleyball features next week. This by Tom Ivan at VGC. I'm gonna assume that means football probably means soccer here. Nintendo Switch Sports Free Summer Update will be released next week, launching on July twenty six at six pm Pacific time. It will introduce several new features, including including legs Trap functionality for football matches and new volleyball moves. Players will be able to use a joy Con controller and legs Trap accessory to transform real kicking motions into endgame actions in four on four and one on one matches. That's for the soccer and then for volleyball you get the slide, attack and rocket serve moves. While the Pro League will be introduced will introduce the new s rank and infinite rank for online players. So if you are a sweaty Switch Sports volleyball player, here you go. This is for you. You going back to switch sports at all? No, I didn't even get it, And I kind of feel bad about it because I love we Sports so much. But were your kids captivated at all by switch sports? Is doing anything for me a little bit? But I I also had recently got out we Sports resort for them, like just actually using like Dolphin and stuff with a real controller and letting him like play or whatever, and they were into that because there was like that that was just a little bit more I think kid friendly where you used to like go and swing the sword and stuff like that. And this one is because like that one, like you like run up a hill and you take on AI enemies, and here it's like one on one sort of chanbara battles, and that's like a little bit more difficult for them. I played switch Sports and played a couple of minutes. I remember, I played a couple nights with Dan and uh and then it played a couple of nights with my community and I enjoyed it. But I've not gone back, and I keep thinking I do want to, but I like, look around, no one else seems to be like wanting to make that happen. So I'm like, I'm not even I'm not even going to suggest it. I'm not. I'm just like, it's okay, we had our time with it. It's fine. It's not gonna be. It was never gonna be we Sports again. That was just never gonna happen. It's impossible. I mean they already tried that with what Sports HD. What was the WEU version, and that was Crickets with a releast bad version. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, you could like download each one individually or whatever. Yeah, right right, Yeah, it's interesting. I don't know if there's really a market for kind of a living game in that sports world if you're not one of the biggest, if you're a FIFA, Madden, NBA, NHL. Like outside of that, though, I feel like there's a big drop off. Rocket League one of the best sports games of all time, you know. But outside of that, it's like all this Nintendo stuff in particular, I just feel like it's a flash in the pan and people move on. Yeah. I mean, it's really good mechanically for like a lot of these sports games that they do, but they just they treat them like party games, which feel disposable. So it's not just surprising that people treat them that way. All right, let's get to the catch up, which you know, we're gonna do a little bit of questions, so if you have questions, you want to hit that ask a Question button there. We'll do some grub SNAXT questions here before the end of the show. But first, three more Super Nintendo and Ans games have been added to the Switch Online. You can get Fighters History, Kirby's Avalanche, and Dava Story six Imperial of the Nero Sartia. You're it's all good. Yeah, man, that's the inns and the other two for Super Nintendo. I know, I mean, listen, I like Fighters History just because well I've never played it. I just like the idea of it, because Karnoff is in there, well he is the boss in here. And then eventually the sequel comes out and it's Karnoff's Revenge and he is playable, so U but that's still it's a little bit frustrating at the same time because I don't think you can get Karnoff on the NES version of Nintendo Switch Online. I think that's right, which is they need to rectify that. Where are you at when Nintendo Switch Online and these updates in ANYS and Supermintendo an in sixty four games or whatever. Realistically, I feel like the perk of this is just seeing those trailers pop up every once in a while. They're seeing the new panels unfold when you boot it up, and kind of you get a little bit of a history. Lesten, because it's always some deep cut. It makes me actually go and google dive a story six Imperial of Nurse Sashia. I'd be like, are these games? That's kind of the value? I mean, it's disappointing. Obviously we want the sa Marioarps, I mean, Chrono Trigger would be the hail marriage, the biggies. They can, they can squeeze money out of us in some other way for those, So maybe realistically we're doomed for just the occasional perk of like oh okay, the Curve began game on sixty four, that's all right, Pokemon puzzled digg rules. But it's gonna be a lot of deep cuts. Yeah, I mean, especially on anys the Super Nintendo. I think N sixty four there's far less of an excuse for Wave Racing ten eighty and Excite like not to be on there, and a whole host of other games. But they'll they'll get there. They said as much that they are going to keep releasing games for N sixty four, but they've also kept releasing games or ans a Super Nintendo. And you're right, it's all been deep cuts and there's probably very specific reasons, and most probably mostly to do with money. While we aren't getting Super Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger and that's probably not gonna change anytime soon. So yeah, and I think they would much rather just like say, hey, here is Gameboy and game Boy Color, rather than figure out like, okay, let's give square gigs more money for Super Mario RPG the parts that they own. So now, yeah, at least it's kind of fun to see, Oh, Kurby's Avalanche, I gotta dig into that. Has never played that, and it's oh, it's just a Puyo Puyo game, and it's so weird that Peo Puyo has licensed out for like a Sonic crossover and a Kurby crossover, and like there's like two or three other ones on the tend to switch online already like other Puyo Puyo games. So yeah, it's it's everywhere, and it's like, yeah, of course we got a Kurby one. Uh, Mean Being Machine though it's the definitive one there for me. I don't think you could do better than Mean Being Machine. The music for the competitive mode and Mean Bean Machine is so good. Gets my blood pump and shout out to Tim Turry of PlayStation for being the biggest champion of that game. But all that music roles. All right, let's let's take some questions here from the chats, show me hit the grub Snacks button. Let's should work there. We go, all right, everybody from Propaganda Panda in Resident Evil eight when Heisenberg called Chris a roth punching asshole who told Heisenberger that Chris punched a boulder. The only person who knew died in the volcano. Chris tells everybody that he punches rocks, right. Yeah, every bar he goes to, he never shuts up about a Yeah. It's like the kind of thing where he's just he's bragging. It's on his blog, it's on this instagram. Uh. He he was like, listen if you're I don't care if you're a boulder, and like he like stops and take pictures of himself when ever he sees a big rock or a small rock. Uh, I get it, Chris, would I wish Yeah, I wish I filmed it. Honestly, you can kind of see the dent and my finger where it happened. But you get the idea. Let's see from axel Woody nine. I had no idea Karnoff was in another game. I just thought he had to revenge. Yeah, Karnoff is in other games. He so he's like Data East's mascot at that time. And you know, Karnoff is a fun game. It's like a kind of a weird game. But like he like pulls a ladder. It's all about like ladders. It's like Karnoff has magic ladders. Pretty uh yeah, It's not as magical as some other games at that time, but I like it. And he's just this old, fat bald man. So I got like a lot of a lot of respect for him. He really looks like, yeah, if you had a six year old drop picture of a strong guy. Yes, yes, yes, it's like what a strong guy looked like in the nineteen thirties. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, And so like I like Karnoff, but then like Kardinovs Revenge came bumbled in on one of these Chinese like handhelds I got, and I'm like, wait, Cardinos Revenge, what is this I open, I'm like, this is a fighting game, and that's actually Karnov. This is incredible, and that is the sequel to Fighter's History, which is like you play as one of these other fighters and then you get to a boss and you beat him, and then you get to another boss. And I believe that is Karnoff who is the mastermind behind this tournament. He had put together this worldwide Warriors tournament fighting on the street. Yes, data did in fact, get sued by Capcom for making that game, So don't you guys worry propaganda Panda. Could they get the Rock as the narrator. I think that would be the ideal move there, or that Phoenix Rising sequel, right, yeah, that would be the way to go. Uh when you phone it in. I don't know how's this vo work in fort I haven't heard it? Is it? Okay? I haven't heard it either, But like his work on the game or the Summer Game Mess or Sam Summer Game Fest was a big questionable. He sounded way more like stone cold Steve Auston than the Rock I remember, So maybe maybe I don't know. The part that kills me with the Summer Games the best thing or Fest the fact that he didn't turn down the background music in his gym when he was recording a player just hit mute, Like, how disrespectful can you get for this cameo that you're filming? It couldn't feel like more like he was just in betweens. I mean I think he even said as much. He's just in between sets and it was like his sixty second rest period and he said, well, I'm just gonna fit this in right now, I'm like, man, come on, like that was one of the most weird things I've ever seen in any awards show or any summer gaming thing whatever. From our rules. When Nintendo showed off the WE balance board at E three, they all went barefoot on stage. Was this a secret attempt to learn the foot freaks it was? I think was? Yeah, mission accomplished. Yeah, not too long ago. That's right, that's right. Time you see someone barefoot on stage, they are just like going after that foot audience, which is just a lucrative move. I get it. Yeah. I went to a US game store here in the Twin Cities the other day and they had a bunch of WE balance boards, and I assume, like collectibles are you know, shooting up in prices and everything. I just thought that those are going to be a fortune and they were basically giving them away. Yeah. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised by this, but I think just over the last couple of years, I assume everything that's over ten years old is super expensive now. But no, the owner was like, please, I don't know a dollar, take the balance board here. I can give you a copy of WE Fit for free. Just get it out of my fricking store. So I'm happy to be a proud owner now of one. Yeah. The thing is anything that was that is Nintendo that didn't sell quite as well, very expensive, so GameCube and then sixty four very expensive, but there were one hundred and twenty million of those or whatever so like, and then all the proof roles there was, like, you know, several tens of millions of those. So yeah, they're very very affordable still, but I think I'm just down forward to my house right now. Actually, oh great, yeah, I'll hit you up later if you want to buy my balance Bard for me. By the way, twenty bucks please enjoy. All right, let's let's get to the poll here. I'm gonna transition back over here. So yesterday I asked do we get do we get a new F zero soon? This is based on the rumors that something could happen with F zero soon. We don't know exactly what, but the person said, hey, don't get your hopes up, and hey, guess what I'm not, and neither are most people. Sixteen point one percent say yes, we'll get a new F zero soon. Eighty three point nine percent say no. That seems about right to me. Ben yeah, big time. It is weird. You would think that Nintendo would try to lean into I mean, I think of with Mario Kart being the crazy success that it is. You know, it seems like with Sony they're like, hey, people like story driven, single player third person games with a weapon wheel, and now we're gonna lean into it hard. And it feels like Nintendo should look at those numbers and say, a cute racers. We could probably have one more successful franchise. We could bring back Diddy Kong if we really want to. I mean, we could revive the Donkey Kong racing game they never released on GameCube, Star Fox, Grand Prix is right there, but just nothing. Yeah, it's Nintendo's thinking is like the complete opposite, right, Like you're like, oh, so he does something that works, they keep making more of its. Nintendo's like, we have the thing that works like that, We're not gonna do more work. We're not gonna do anohing that would be extra work that would cost money, Like, let's just keep selling this thing. And the problem is is that Nintendo's games keep selling forever at sixty dollars. They don't have to lower the price. They just keep selling forever. That game's gonna sell literally till the end of time, to the heat death of the universe. Mario Kart eight DeLux will just keep selling. And and so that's like they don't have much of an incentive to like try to mix that stuff up or to try to replace that game with the follow up or something slightly different. It's just like, hey, we have our cute racing game, we filled that niche. Let's just move on and go try something else, I guess. And they're not even doing much of that. So yeah, and I wonder if it'd be a different story if the relationship continued with Monster Games, which I'm very partial too because it's based on Northfield, Minnesota, which is a small, relatively small Minnesotan town. But they developed Excite Bots, Excite Truck. They then co developed Ho Kong Tropical Freeze, and they poured a Zeno Blade to the three DS, and they were building up like a pretty great nintended reputation, and they are a racing focused studio. They're big in a NASCAR games and stuff like that. And then that relationship just ended and now I Racing owns them. But you know, I recently interviewed Reggie Fisme with Nintendo, and I asked him about what went wrong with that relationship, how they didn't incorporate them more, and Reggie's answer was just well, I can't answer that, but what I will say is next Level Games we're very great to work with, and so we locked it in, you know, and so so who knows. I mean, Nintendo seemed like they were built ending up this great pedigree with this racing studio and then I don't know, threw it away. Something happened. I don't know. It's like I wish we could know more about like how these things go, because it's like, what is the one thing that makes one studio click into playstream and to know and another one where they just like when we're never gonna work with you again. It's it's strange email who knows? Yeah, maybe before we get to the poll for Monday. Another question Windmills asked, is a kupa skeleton? I'm sorry if a coup of skeleton is a dry bones? Is a regular kopa just a wet bones? Yes it is, Yes it is. This is a kind of industry expertise and you can expect from this show Jeff Grub's absolutely insider. This is what you come for. I will bring you all the wet bones. You come here for the wet bones, I'll give you the wet bones. Everybody. That's sounds like much more threatening than I mean it to everybody. It's just we're good, We're cool, We're cool. All right. I'm gonna ask everybody a new poll question for Monday. Are you excited about the future of youb Soft games h game mess Mornings? And I had the pull button here and everything, and I'll say yes and no. That's a tough one. I can tread at least by that Infinity project. The started to go back in the weeds too much. But the module system, is that going to be like a hub and then just different anim missus ANIMI lying around that you get into and it's like and now you're in Japan and now you're over here. Yeah, I kind of wonder the same thing. I don't know for sure, but like you gotta like you can see the again, like the pulling tensions of like doing one versus the other where you maybe that's more immersive and maybe that appeals to some people. But do you want this to be so simple that it's like anyone can jump in and they're like, you're gonna have just like the you know, the mouse you control with the analog stick. You're like, oh, that one looks pretty I'll go over there and click that button. Like do they think about it that way? I think a lot of Ubisoft stuff is built with that sort of thing in mind. So I think they will try to make it as as as little friction between the player and the thing they want to go to as possible. And to me, that's like it is just a big button right there on that front menu that takes you right to the thing you want to go to. It would be my assolution. But I bet they also try and weave in something. They can have some some text in the corner that imply that it's like the corporation or what every right, Yes, you like you are sitting at a console that's owned by the corporation or whatever, and you might like have like a radio plane in the back, or like it's like playing podcasts and they're in world podcasts and stuff like that, and they just occasionally like you hear it like from the other room or something like that, with what's happen like, that's the kind of things that I think they would probably trying. All right, Ben, where can people find you? What could people hang out with you? I believe we do have something to promote for Monday as well, right boy do we? Yeah? You can check out mid Max. The min Max Show is our flagship podcast. You can check that out. The next episode is going to be all about preserving game history. We have Kelsey Lewins, co director of the Video Game History Foundation and also a contributor to mid Max. And then we also the plan maybe to fall through, but the plan is to have a special guest who is very relevant to this very site. So you can check out The min Max Show in your favorite podcast app or on YouTube at YouTube dot com slash midmax. But you're right, we have a big thing happening on Monday, which is Trivia Tower, which is our monthly video game trivia competition for folks in the community. And this month's episode happening on Monday at eight pm Central, July twenty fifth, there is Minmax versus Giant Bomb. Yes, this is it means all of you. That doesn't mean like it's like, oh, oh me versus Leo Vader. Right, this means it is the communities facing off against one another. Correct, That's exactly right. So if you want to help support the show and compete on Team Minmax, you can do that by supporting Midmax on Patreon. Even at the two to lar tier, you get in there and you can compete. Every single month. I mean, we give away a ton of game codes and Astro a forty headset to the winner. Every time. We have game codes for like T Team and Ta Shutter's Revenge, for Escape Academy, for Clenola, for the Quarry ton of game codes to give away. And there's the twist this time around though, is yeah, the Giant Bomb community. You can also compete for free if you're in the giant Bomb discord. There is a time limited link to enter Midmax's discord, and so that should be in the news channel and Giant Bomb's discord. So if you jump in there, you can compete for free, and you can compete on behalf of Giant Bomb. And so the last person standing will represent either the Midmax community or the Giant Bomb community. And then Dan Reichert, who's the co host of this episode of Tribute to Hour, either he or I will be punished accordingly, depending on which community wins O punished accordingly. What does that mean you guys announcing those stakes yet or are we going to wait till yeah, we announced it, and you know it's tough to just blindly try and figure out, like what is a good punishment. Not to be too dickish, but you want to make it hurt a little bit. You want to make it hurt. I get it. Yeah, so you want to punish Dan for his sins. I completely understand. Oh boy do I so Giant Bomb. If Giant Bomb wins and the community wins, and you prove that you're smarter about video games a video game triviute the Mex's community, that means that Dan Reichert gets to choose any game that he wants under ten hours, and I will be forced to do a full let's play of it on mid Max's Twitch channel under ten hours. So how bad could it be? Is my question? But Dan is you know how he goes, He's going to find something that's just going to be agony. So we're I'm oh, no, oh no, so please, I need your team mid Max because if mid Max wins, then we are all going to design a shirt together on Twitch, and then Dan has to wear that shirt for an entire week of content. This is fire Escape, this is every Dan record Twitch stream, this is every Giant Bomb video he's in that week, and said, we're very fun to design that shirt because you can go a lot of different directions for how you beat. That makes Dan reichert uncomfortable because it's like what he said, the rules are, you know, no nudity has to be allowed on the internet. He can't get me canceled with the shirt. Ask me about Bence McMahon and that's all it says. Oh that's interesting, he would love it. Yeah, so there's a lot of angles, a lot of ideas there. So hopefully, well here's here's here's the pitch. If you want to help support team in Max, you could join our team and compete on our side, and then we could really make Dancy Traders do it. Now. I get I get the appeal, I get what's happening here, but don't you dare do it. We're gonna win for Giant Bob, We're gonna we're gonna make Ben pay. I don't know, I really feel like we need to make Ben pay. We're gonna make Ben pey. That's fair. Yeah. So if you want to compete in video game Tribute, it's a fun time and you can compete for free in this episode if you're part of the Giant Bomb community. So jump in that Giant Bomb discord and you can find a link there and let's know if you have any questions about how it all works. But it'll be fun. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this. That's a Monday, everybody, so make sure you'd get in the discord. If you don't know where to go, just ask someone pointing in the right direction. Make sure you are able to get in there. Giant Bomb. Today, we are gonna try and make hold Halo co op stream. We're gonna make that work. And then we have unprofessional Fridays this evening, so keep an eye out for that. But we're gonna get out of here everybody. Ben, thank you so much for joining me. I really appreciate it. Yeah, thanks for having me. It's fun. I'm happy to jump out anytime you want. I was gonna I was gonna ask in the future, I might have to, like I might get sick or go on vacation if it's possible. Would you ever be an interested in guest hosting for me? I kind of mind starting to be if live on air. I was like, hell, no, are you nuts? Exactly, That's why I'm cornering you exactly. I'm like, Yeah, I think i'd be up for that at some point. Yeah, I appreciate I appreciate that, and we'll see if we can make that happen if we need to. Thanks man, all right, everybody, thank you for joining us for the Morning Mess. You're the best audience of gaming. I really appreciate it. Until next time, have a good one, take care of yourself, and goodbye.
