<v Speaker 2>soon as John said she was in, we showed up
<v Speaker 2>at ten am the next morning and we were just
<v Speaker 2>so pumped to uh add her to our collection. I

<v Speaker 2>my seven year all intact and all went to their
<v Speaker 2>There are places, but I'm just pumped, and I've actually
<v Speaker 2>been so busy they haven't been able to open the
<v Speaker 2>rest of the set. I'm not going to do the
<v Speaker 2>whole set on the show because I think that's just

<v Speaker 7>the way you really manage a brand. Like brand management,
<v Speaker 7>for the longest time, has always been conceived of it's
<v Speaker 7>a brand, and the brand is what you manage, and
<v Speaker 7>the brand is in front of everything, and the brand
<v Speaker 7>is you know, everything is about the brand. But I
<v Speaker 7>think brand management is about the people that manage the
<v Speaker 7>brand as well, because those people you can actually communicate with,
<v Speaker 7>and those are the people. Like some people call it
<v Speaker 7>customer service, but I think it's more like I think
<v Speaker 7>it's more like you're you know, you are a representative
<v Speaker 7>of the things that can happen next. The customer service
<v Speaker 7>is more reactive, right, like.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, yeah, my figure has a broken arm, but yeah.
<v Speaker 7>Can you fix this? This is proactive. This is like
<v Speaker 7>you're talking to someone who actually can affect what happens next, okay,

<v Speaker 7>I really loved the underlying content, Like I really like
<v Speaker 7>WWI and I really like Wrestling.

<v Speaker 2>are going great, but once we create this, uh, the
<v Speaker 2>Patreonic Solsive Facebook group, and now we're like truly like
<v Speaker 2>hands on interacting with the people that care about our
<v Speaker 2>show and everything, and like that took everything to the
<v Speaker 2>next level, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Because if people want to be here, they want to,
<v Speaker 1>you know, buy something.
<v Speaker 2>We're truly in there as individuals like interacting and being involved.
<v Speaker 6>And so that's the question.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like they want to buy stuff from you, Jeremy,
<v Speaker 1>when like they feel like you're involved in you care,
<v Speaker 1>you know, yeah, exactly, You're not just some guy in
<v Speaker 1>a suit, like just a name on our computer screen.
<v Speaker 1>You when you show, when you put your face out there,
<v Speaker 1>good or bad, you know, whether it's good news and
<v Speaker 1>bad news, you're putting your your face, your neck on
<v Speaker 1>the line. And they appreciate that, whether they want to
<v Speaker 1>admit it or not. And that's what makes them connected
<v Speaker 1>to the whole brand.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, and but you know, I have to say, there's
<v Speaker 7>one thing about wrestling that's special. It's not the same
<v Speaker 7>thing in politics. For other forms of entertainment. It's just
<v Speaker 7>as okay to be a bad guy as a good guy.
<v Speaker 7>So I always took that as part of the job, like, hey,
<v Speaker 7>you know what, so they'll hate me this week, but
<v Speaker 7>at least at least they're hearing information that's real and yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 7>but you know what though, seriously, that is hand in
<v Speaker 7>hand with doing hundreds and hundreds of figures a year,
<v Speaker 7>and so that chase. I mean, look, doing it the
<v Speaker 7>perfect way means you probably do a few fewer figures,
<v Speaker 7>but still so many that you know, you really capture
<v Speaker 7>the entire world, because you know, wrestling in WWE specifically
<v Speaker 7>is about breadth. It's about you know, if you break
<v Speaker 7>the if you break the group up and you say
<v Speaker 7>you're the most exposed characters, medium level exposed, low level exposure.
<v Speaker 7>If you're not doing the low level exposure guys and
<v Speaker 7>the medium level exposure guys, I feel like you're really
<v Speaker 7>not maximizing what you can achieve.
<v Speaker 1>And you you guys made everybody during that era, and
<v Speaker 1>you found a way to make them, whether it be
<v Speaker 1>a brings that exclusive or some sort of you know,
<v Speaker 1>weird three pack or two like the Geminia figures. Everyone

<v Speaker 1>for like familiar with Star Wars at all, Like yeah,
<v Speaker 1>like Hammerhead, Like everyone needs Hammerhead. You know you need

<v Speaker 7>Well, it's also it's also easy to get disinterested, right,
<v Speaker 7>And if you're not exciting people, if you're not doing
<v Speaker 7>things that they don't entirely expect, they'll get disinterested after
<v Speaker 7>a while and end up doing something else. Because there's
<v Speaker 7>lots of things out there that are interesting. I mean, look,
<v Speaker 7>I like wrestling, but I also like twenty five other things,
<v Speaker 7>maybe not as much, right, But if I'm become disinterested
<v Speaker 7>in something, then these other things can take at least
<v Speaker 7>the forefront, you know, for a while.
<v Speaker 6>So how does this wind down? The license runs out

<v Speaker 2>never thought it would happen. You know, my heart was broken,

<v Speaker 7>opportunity came up, and and there had been some challenges,

<v Speaker 7>was working for in w w E and Mattel swept
<v Speaker 7>in and took the license. Uh, it was one of
<v Speaker 7>the worst days ever for me, although we did have
<v Speaker 7>we knew it was coming and we did have something
<v Speaker 7>lined up which was pretty fun.
<v Speaker 2>Last Yearly, you guys mail them, well there's no decad
<v Speaker 2>like some things I've never seen before in my life.
<v Speaker 7>Well that was all right, So just.
<v Speaker 6>White flag waving in Malibu.
<v Speaker 7>Oh my god, it was It wasn't right. It wasn't
<v Speaker 7>the best we have come on. That's why, right, listen,

<v Speaker 7>Yeah, listen, Yes, like I said, it's a hard interview, man. No,
<v Speaker 7>I love it. No, Look, look I get it, and
<v Speaker 7>I fully understand it. As a collector of these things

<v Speaker 7>you're coming forget uh what was happening with that. I'll
<v Speaker 7>speak more philosophically about anything. If something's ending, you can't

<v Speaker 7>my god, how am I going to stay employed and relevant?
<v Speaker 7>And so we you know want we we signed UFC,
<v Speaker 7>we signed TNA, We tried to look towards what was
<v Speaker 7>next week created our own piece of entertainment, sixty five
<v Speaker 7>episodes of Monsoono that was on Nicktoons, and like we
<v Speaker 7>we really went into something into a lot of other
<v Speaker 7>things to try to make up for it. And you
<v Speaker 7>know what, it's it's tough to replace WWE and uh
<v Speaker 7>unfortunately running hot like that, right, oh my god? Well
<v Speaker 7>you know what, and and you know, eight years of
<v Speaker 7>like every single year we had grown it bigger than
<v Speaker 7>the prior year. So yeah, it sucked, It really sucked
<v Speaker 7>losing it and and so but for me, it was
<v Speaker 7>also probably one of the better things that could have happened,
<v Speaker 7>because who knows, I mean, I'd probably still be doing it.
<v Speaker 7>And I'm glad that, you know, Like I'm glad that
<v Speaker 7>I had to switch it up and do something else.
<v Speaker 7>I mean, those that those eight years went really fast,
<v Speaker 7>and I'm sure ten more would have gone really fast.
<v Speaker 7>But otherwise, you know, I'd say I have had a
<v Speaker 7>pretty cool career since then, how.

<v Speaker 7>that no one of the early investors was going to
<v Speaker 7>be from uh was was, you know, from Boston area.
<v Speaker 7>They ended up not investing, and yeah, so I ended
<v Speaker 7>up being wicked questionable.
<v Speaker 6>Build a toy company from the ground up like this.
<v Speaker 7>So well, the way this went down is that my
<v Speaker 7>buddy Michael Rensler and my my buddy Thomas Poon started
<v Speaker 7>a toy company and I had like six months left
<v Speaker 7>in my contract at at Jack's at the time, or
<v Speaker 7>five months left, and my mindset was I was going
<v Speaker 7>to start a toy company too, but I was going
<v Speaker 7>to wait until I left and started a toy company.
<v Speaker 7>And my objective was to do everything right, and doing
<v Speaker 7>everything right did not include signing on to a company
<v Speaker 7>that just started. I just felt like, you know, too risky,
<v Speaker 7>well risky or not risky. It just in my mind
<v Speaker 7>it was like, I've got six months, you know, six
<v Speaker 7>months isn't gonna change anything. So towards the end of
<v Speaker 7>that six months, though they they had they had you know,
<v Speaker 7>they were pre revenue that nothing had happened yet really
<v Speaker 7>that the Turtles novelty license and a couple of things,
<v Speaker 7>and they they basically convinced me, like, don't start a
<v Speaker 7>new company. Let's not competitors, Let's do this together. And
<v Speaker 7>it ended up being like a great choice. So I
<v Speaker 7>came in and the three of us together, So come on,
<v Speaker 7>here's here's what happened. Really, here's what happened. Really, we
<v Speaker 7>were you know, I want yeah, no, no. I walked
<v Speaker 7>in and and the feat and it was more like,
<v Speaker 7>oh my god, this is real, like like we we
<v Speaker 7>got to turn this in, we got to turn this
<v Speaker 7>into something, and and they were doing great. I mean,
<v Speaker 7>they really were really impressed. But like, it's a long
<v Speaker 7>way to earning a living starting you know, pre revenue.
<v Speaker 7>So you know, the you know, we we did it.
<v Speaker 7>You know, over the course of seven years, we turned
<v Speaker 7>it into a really meaningful mainstream global toy company. And
<v Speaker 7>we did we dabbled in WWE's you know, my favorite brand, my.
<v Speaker 6>Fans of the show. Now, I've recently become super obsessed
<v Speaker 6>with baseball cards.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, I was with my buddy buying some boxes the
<v Speaker 2>other day and we paid it literally was split in
<v Speaker 2>the middle of this place sports cards, and the whole
<v Speaker 2>other side was Pokemon.
<v Speaker 6>My buddies like nice, why does he have all that?
<v Speaker 2>Like what I go, dude, Pokemon is one of the.
<v Speaker 6>Number one brands in the world, and I know that
<v Speaker 6>because of Jeremy.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 7>So in so in two thousand and sixteen, we met
<v Speaker 7>with Pokemon and they were looking for a new master toy,
<v Speaker 7>and uh, even though we were small and really not
<v Speaker 7>necessarily their first choice, we were able to communicate why
<v Speaker 7>successfully we would be a great partner, and they ended
<v Speaker 7>up investing in our company. And uh it turned out
<v Speaker 7>to be phenomenal because Pokemon Go hit at that time.
<v Speaker 7>And so if you can imagine like what that did
<v Speaker 7>was in the meantime, you may hear footsteps and that's
<v Speaker 7>a giant dog walking in there.
<v Speaker 1>That's the dog with Tory Wilson, right, Yeah, the motivation
<v Speaker 1>the repaint for the fife.
<v Speaker 7>So yeah, and then and then recently in October of
<v Speaker 7>twenty nineteen, we announced uh that Jazzuars uh purchased Wicked
<v Speaker 7>Cool Toys And so now I'm a partner Jazzuars, which
<v Speaker 7>you know is one of the most phenomenal toy companies ever. Really,
<v Speaker 7>I mean, if you think about the roster of total brands,
<v Speaker 7>now we have Fortnite, Roadblocks, Pokemon, Cabbage Patch Kids, Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 7>et cetera.
<v Speaker 2>Underneath the jazzwuare umbrella or is it is it all jazzwear?
<v Speaker 7>It's all it's all jazzuaar so with you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, So we were talking about this in the car.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, I'm not exactly sure how it went.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah yeah no, So so essentially listen, we're we're you know,
<v Speaker 7>it's exciting because it's a very similar culture and a
<v Speaker 7>very similar approach when you when when you are a
<v Speaker 7>toy company that's competing against Mattel and has Bros and
<v Speaker 7>the big guys out there, the most obvious place to
<v Speaker 7>look for a brand like a Disney or a Nickelodeon
<v Speaker 7>or something to that effect is not necessarily where you're
<v Speaker 7>going to be competing favorably early on. So if you're
<v Speaker 7>a startup company and you're like, let's let's go try
<v Speaker 7>to get the next big Pixar movie, I mean that's
<v Speaker 7>probably not where you should look. Where you should where
<v Speaker 7>you should you should really try to become an expert
<v Speaker 7>into what's going to happen next and which is not easy,
<v Speaker 7>and there's a lot of failure that comes to that.
<v Speaker 7>But we were very impressed with U with Uh Judd
<v Speaker 7>and Laura's a bird Ski who are the owners of
<v Speaker 7>who are the partners? Are partners at jazz Wears? Because
<v Speaker 7>they look I mean Minecraft and then Roadblocks and then

<v Speaker 7>ten that have been graded. There's been a few nines, okay,

<v Speaker 7>about ten years ago, this card, this PSA ten, was
<v Speaker 7>sold for about twenty grand, twenty grand ish, and then
<v Speaker 7>it sold again about I don't remember five years ago,
<v Speaker 7>for about one hundred and fifty and today that card
<v Speaker 7>is worth a million, well over a million. So it
<v Speaker 7>went from twenty grand to a million in ten years
<v Speaker 7>fifty times return. And I've seen that before in other cards.
<v Speaker 7>I saw it with basketball cards back in the in
<v Speaker 7>the eighties. It just they blew up. They went from
<v Speaker 7>nothing to something. And I believe that that's going to
<v Speaker 7>happen with wrestling. So if I would give anybody a
<v Speaker 7>tip right now, it would be like vintage and a
<v Speaker 7>high grade product.
<v Speaker 6>What's your holy grail of your wrestling card collection?
<v Speaker 7>You know, I'm more I talk a good game, but
<v Speaker 7>I try. I mean I tried.

<v Speaker 7>I got the highest graded Hulk Hogan nineteen eighty two
<v Speaker 7>Wrestling All Star card. It was nine and a half bgs.
<v Speaker 7>BGS is one of the major grading Beckett grading service
<v Speaker 7>versus P s A, and I paid I think twenty
<v Speaker 7>eight hundred dollars for it. But when the card came
<v Speaker 7>it was clearly it was an obvious flaw on the card.
<v Speaker 7>And these grading services almost never get it wrong though,
<v Speaker 7>So I don't Shenanigan's what's something weird reading.
<v Speaker 1>For the figures like AFA and stuff like that.

<v Speaker 7>open for this because I really think that over the
