Speaker 1: All right, welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour everyone, and today we have a twenty eight year old private wealth planner from Atlanta, Shane.

00:00:09
Speaker 2: Welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour.

00:00:11
Speaker 3: Thank you guys. I'm so excited to be here with you all.

00:00:14
Speaker 2: This is crazy.

00:00:16
Speaker 4: I just got to say. He's good looking, he's a private wealth manager. This is like the trifecta.

00:00:22
Speaker 2: It really is a can't get away.

00:00:26
Speaker 5: He's captive.

00:00:28
Speaker 3: Kathy's in months right now, already.

00:00:31
Speaker 1: Kathy, Thanks, Kathy's already claiming Shane.

00:00:34
Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.

00:00:35
Speaker 1: Okay, Well, we're gonna hop right into everything, but I need to know, obviously, how are you feeling. There has been a lot that has transpired.

00:00:43
Speaker 2: In the past week.

00:00:44
Speaker 1: I'm sure for you guys, it has not been easy, but that probably comes with so many different emotions.

00:00:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean for us, I think.

00:00:55
Speaker 6: Obviously we're part of this entire process, this entire journey, but we maybe third, fourth, or fifth in the line of importance of what's going on right now. The most important thing is a happy and healthy family for all parties involved right now. And you know, I'm praying for everybody that's involved in the situation. I'm praying for the kids especially, and I'm excited to excite it and look forward to seeing, you know what more information comes about. Yeah, but everybody, everybody that's involved right now, I would love for I would love for them to come out of this, grow, feel, get better, and overall just just be happy.

00:01:36
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:01:37
Speaker 1: I will say that we've talked to a few of the other guys already, and I'm just really impressed by all of y'all's like outlook and perspective on this. Obviously it's hard and like there's no sugarcoating that, you know. It's like I have not been in y'all's shoes of you know, a season not airing as it's about to premiere, and so I could only imagine. But I'm just really impressed by y'all's like perspective on everything and being so positive because I think, more importantly, like than ever, is that that's just what's needed.

00:02:08
Speaker 3: You know.

00:02:09
Speaker 1: I don't feel like there's any like egos, like, you know, trying to take the forefront here. So I really admire you guys all being so uplifting about this.

00:02:18
Speaker 5: Yeah, I want to second that it's amazing. It really is amazing how you.

00:02:22
Speaker 4: Guys there's so many aspects of this that we don't really understand yet. But but as we said the other day, giving grace to her and understanding that it's a complicated uh and you guys are are just I'm sure disappointed, but also it's supporting.

00:02:38
Speaker 5: Two things can be true at the same time.

00:02:41
Speaker 6: Definitely, definitely, And I think when it's it's something that affects the home in the way that this does, you know, you're able to really being on the network at eight pm on Sunday doesn't matter exactly when it's when it's.

00:02:56
Speaker 3: Such a such a big deal.

00:02:58
Speaker 6: And I think this cast is especially everybody has such a good heart and all the boys are they're the best.

00:03:05
Speaker 5: So I want to know, how did you get on the show? Shang? How did tell me your journey to Bachelor Nation.

00:03:12
Speaker 6: It's been a long time coming, Kathy. I. I've been talking to Bachelor Nation for like the last three or four cycles, so wow, twenty twenty or twenty twenty one, one of my best friends and my co workers put in like two separate applications for me and obviously thought it was a joke, so did I, And then, like everybody, I get the random phone call, I'm like, what the hell.

00:03:37
Speaker 2: Like, who is this? Yeah?

00:03:38
Speaker 3: Who is this?

00:03:40
Speaker 6: But that was during my first year of law school, and I obviously didn't want to leave school, so turned it down. Then again came back around and I was I had a girlfriend and was in my second or third year law school. Well, and then when they announced Taylor, I signed the dot in line and here I am. Now I get to hang out with you too.

00:04:01
Speaker 2: Oh wait god.

00:04:02
Speaker 4: And I just got to say I heard that Rachel Rekkia and she said this on the record, that you're the.

00:04:09
Speaker 5: Hottest man to ever come through Bachelor Nation.

00:04:13
Speaker 1: I'm saying she's not with us today, obviously, but I know it's.

00:04:18
Speaker 5: My lucky day. It's my life.

00:04:20
Speaker 1: If you listen to Yes, if you listen to our When we were like reviewing the cast, you guys, we were giving our little notes and so obviously we came across yours and I was like, oh, he's like, you know, perfect on paper, obviously very good looking. And then Rachel inserts probably the hottest guy in the franchise, and I said, Okay, Rachel, you're shooting your shot. So I don't know if you caught that, but it's here it's here, so do what you do with the information.

00:04:48
Speaker 2: Obviously, we don't know how the season turns out.

00:04:50
Speaker 5: Okay, Okay, I'm back to mother role here. It was it was fun while it lasted.

00:04:56
Speaker 6: Moving on, I cannot. I'm gonna tell it everybody about this.

00:05:00
Speaker 2: No, you should. I think you should. I like to start things a little.

00:05:04
Speaker 3: Bit my Instagram bio Hottest Guide.

00:05:11
Speaker 1: And then quote Rachel Rekia exactly exactly. Okay, No, I'm like, how do we segue from this?

00:05:19
Speaker 3: Like, I don't know.

00:05:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.

00:05:22
Speaker 1: It was nice chatting you know, Tyler Cameron. How do you guys know each other? That's like obviously Bachelor Nation like royalty.

00:05:33
Speaker 6: So weirdly enough, my high school friend group and do you remember when he had the whole like quarantine Crew.

00:05:40
Speaker 3: Been going on?

00:05:42
Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, Tyler's the second hottest guy invascination. Okay, when Tyler had the whole quarantine crew thing going on. Somehow my high school friend group has become friends with the quarantine crew.

00:05:58
Speaker 2: Oh wow, my.

00:06:01
Speaker 3: High school best friend. This is this girl named Kenna.

00:06:04
Speaker 6: Don't hear more about her in the season if it airs, She's dating Tyler's best friend.

00:06:10
Speaker 3: Okay, because of that, you know.

00:06:12
Speaker 6: Before before he even went on, you know, I was talking to Tyler and whatever. And he's been nothing but supportive and helpful throughout this whole process and couldn't be more excited about or wasn't more like, couldn't have been less excited about Taylor season, was so excited for her and everything that's going on, and gave me some good advice before I left. He told me not to do what he did, which was he didn't speak to Hannah for like two weeks.

00:06:41
Speaker 1: Yes, okay, wait, I'm curious. Was the best friend Matt Matt James? No, No, okay, so different best friend? Yeah, okay, he was like about that. I don't know, Matt, Oh you don't okay, I was like, because he wasn't he was there during or you don't under but you're your friend great?

00:07:01
Speaker 2: Probably Okay, okay, that makes sense.

00:07:05
Speaker 5: So I want to know.

00:07:05
Speaker 4: I want to know, Like I said, you're a handsome private wealth manager, a lawyer, Like I mean, what else is sort of say? But you said that you've never met a stranger, and I'm exactly the same. So I want to know, how did you what shape you into that kind of person? Because I find that very interesting.

00:07:27
Speaker 6: I mean when I was younger in elementary school, I would come home every single day and have like little notes and write ups that said I won't shut the hell up in class. So I think it's been ever since I was born. I've just always wanted to do this. Yeah, I don't know what it is.

00:07:47
Speaker 3: I had come from a.

00:07:49
Speaker 6: Parental structure that is like I have a New York City mother and a dad's from a small dot in South Carolina that is so charming. Like I don't know, I don't know. I just have like the two opposite ends of the spectrum that molded me. And then now I love to bs and also like have great intimate, normal caring conversations with people.

00:08:10
Speaker 3: At the same time, I.

00:08:12
Speaker 1: Was gonna say that, yeah, that duo will do it New York City and then like Southern. I feel like Southern is like the charming side, but New York like you have to like meet people, you have to talk, you like get it done.

00:08:23
Speaker 3: You know, and you get it. I know you're from Georgia, Yeah you get.

00:08:26
Speaker 2: It, Yes, exactly. Yeah, and I'm from Boston, so.

00:08:29
Speaker 5: I get it.

00:08:30
Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, see this is perfect. I'm I'm like your guys' baby.

00:08:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly do you come from like a big family or like, do you have like a lot of siblings.

00:08:41
Speaker 6: I have two little brothers, my two little brothers and my best friends. I love those two little rats. But I always get jealous of my mom because she has she had the like big Northeastern Italian family. Like Thanksgiving is meeting every or seeing every single cousin and uncle.

00:08:59
Speaker 3: All yeah, the number thirty, that's what I want.

00:09:02
Speaker 5: Yeah, get started.

00:09:07
Speaker 3: I feel like I'm a little late to the game. Kathy years old, you have.

00:09:12
Speaker 1: Plenty of time, plenty Okay, tell us about your job, because you obviously heard me when we started this, I said, I need to understand what as a private world plan.

00:09:24
Speaker 3: So I went to law school. I went to law school up in Boston.

00:09:28
Speaker 6: Actually, Kathy, I did three years up there.

00:09:32
Speaker 3: I went to New England Law Boston, got it.

00:09:36
Speaker 6: Three years there, then came back down South and I realized that, like everything, I just want to sit and talk to people, like I was never going to be good at drafting documents. I was never going to be good at writing briefs. Honestly, being in the courtroom, I don't know I would like don't like Yeah, no, it's so awkward and gross in the So the next next thing for me was jumping into finance. So essentially, I'm just a glorified finance bro with two letters at the end of my name.

00:10:10
Speaker 2: That's nice.

00:10:14
Speaker 5: Can you give us a hot stock tip? I mean, it's not illegal or anything.

00:10:17
Speaker 2: No one's listening, please, Kathy, let us rest today.

00:10:23
Speaker 6: Now, I just do I do like trust in estate planning, tax minimization, asset protection, boring stuff.

00:10:31
Speaker 3: Really, yeah, it's like not that exciting.

00:10:33
Speaker 4: I'm protecting people's money. It's not a boring career that especially in these trying times.

00:10:41
Speaker 6: The last five years, the market for this has really been booming, which has been nice. And I'm obviously at the point in my career, like I graduated a year and a half ago, so I know nothing. Yeah, realistically, I just sit and listen and learn. And I've had a great experience to have the past what year and a half slash three or four years throughout all these times to really learn so many different angles and parts of the market.

00:11:06
Speaker 2: That's amazing, so fun. Okay, But on the flip side, I heard that you also have an interest in f one racing. What's up? What's up with that?

00:11:19
Speaker 6: I don't only have an interest in F one racing. I have a crush on Charles Declaire.

00:11:24
Speaker 2: Please, I actually love this. I love that I have.

00:11:28
Speaker 6: A crush on Charles the Claire. Did you did you see his wedding the other day? Maybe his relationship is also perfect. Like when I look at when I look at what I want, it's Charles the Claire.

00:11:42
Speaker 3: I mean he first of all, I am just a h I'm a Ferrari fan in F one.

00:11:48
Speaker 2: Okay, have you been to Austin?

00:11:51
Speaker 5: Have you come to Austin?

00:11:52
Speaker 1: Like he has to get to an F one race, It's likely it'll happen.

00:11:59
Speaker 5: I hook you.

00:12:01
Speaker 3: I keep seeing I keep seeing it on TikTok.

00:12:03
Speaker 6: You guys probably see it too, that like F one races, stage coach coach, it's all taken from our cast, which is kind of funny.

00:12:10
Speaker 2: Oh wait, I was gonna ask, so you guys not going to stage coach?

00:12:14
Speaker 6: No?

00:12:14
Speaker 3: Probably not. But I'm a Charles Leclair fanboy. That's where it came from.

00:12:20
Speaker 6: If I ever get to meet him, my knees will shake, I'll stutter on, my face will turn red.

00:12:27
Speaker 2: No, it's that intense. Okay, we gotta make this.

00:12:29
Speaker 1: I mean, like I said, it'll happen, but in due time, you gotta meet. You gotta meet your crush. Is this like celebrity crush? That's so funny to me, that's.

00:12:36
Speaker 4: Your celebrity crush? Without giving anything away, how did it feel? I mean, suppose you wanted to dig Taylor tell us about that date and it went viral in real time, like what happened here? Without giving anything away?

00:12:53
Speaker 3: Of course? Oh how do I talk about this? When I got home?

00:12:59
Speaker 6: When I got home and I saw how viral that date was, I was appalled. It was also crazy to be in that moment when wherever I was, every single person around was screaming for her.

00:13:14
Speaker 2: Yea yea yeah.

00:13:15
Speaker 3: What did I get myself into? Yeah? It was so crazy.

00:13:21
Speaker 6: Also, before a big moment that happened during that date, I was stuffing my face with like stuffing my face with sushi.

00:13:30
Speaker 3: Right now, that.

00:13:33
Speaker 5: Sounds like a really tough day there, Shane.

00:13:35
Speaker 6: Yeah, I was really going through it. I was really going through it that day. I played football in college, so like I was even that much more excited to be there and do whatever we did.

00:13:46
Speaker 5: What a physician.

00:13:48
Speaker 6: I played defensive end slash nose guard. I weighed like two hundred and seventy pounds.

00:13:53
Speaker 3: I will say.

00:13:53
Speaker 6: Whenever anything went bad in my life when I lived in Boston, I would find myself stuffing my face at Bova's almost like after every heard exam.

00:14:03
Speaker 2: Like, what's both of us?

00:14:04
Speaker 3: Is that like in the North End? Yeah, there's a little Italian bakery.

00:14:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a bunch of really good restaurants charity in the North End of Boston.

00:14:15
Speaker 5: I highly recommend it.

00:14:16
Speaker 1: If you haven't been, go Yeah, I too minutes Okay, maybe, okay, we'll have the time though, but yes, okay, I want to know. I guess we talked a little bit about just like how you know close the guys and you guys are as a cast?

00:14:35
Speaker 2: How was that dynamic initially?

00:14:37
Speaker 1: So like obviously you can probably tease a little bit of first night, what was those fears coming into the house.

00:14:43
Speaker 2: And then how did that kind of like go away?

00:14:45
Speaker 7: Yeah?

00:14:49
Speaker 3: I felt.

00:14:52
Speaker 6: I was so nervous, and anybody that goes through this thing understands like I sat in the car for an hour and a half outside of the mansion before my entrance, just sitting like quiet, my stomacher. I wanted to get out and run away, but once I got in the house. Once I got in the house, it honestly felt like I was like back in college again.

00:15:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. It's like a big party.

00:15:16
Speaker 6: It's just like a huge party of all of your like best friends, whether you're in like a greek life, or play a sport or just have this amazing friend group.

00:15:25
Speaker 3: That's exactly what it felt like. And the guys. My entrance was ridiculous.

00:15:30
Speaker 6: I look like an idiot, and the guys were so receptive to it. They thought it was so much fun, which was so nice. I was like, God, they're gonna roast me. But as soon as I got in there, they understood they got it yeah, which was so I was so thankful to be so accepted.

00:15:44
Speaker 2: By some of them right when I got Yeah.

00:15:47
Speaker 6: I also think that, I don't know, everybody's so much nicer than what it may seem like, and everybody likes each other so much more and so much more cool than what it really looks like. That's also the only question I really get. I get too, what's too frickey?

00:16:01
Speaker 3: Paul? Like you did you actually like the guys?

00:16:05
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:16:06
Speaker 1: Because it's like it's one of those things that's like and I was telling some of the other guys, it's like, obviously you guys are all competing for like one person, but it's like at the end of the day, only one person can walk away with her. So it's like you hope to leave with like good friendships, and that's like the bulk of it, and like the most I feel like the most one of the most important parts, and it's sometimes such a rarity. So when you do just have like a cast that really gets along with each other, it's like so important and I'm like, these are going to be like your lifelong friends.

00:16:33
Speaker 2: Like I'm so serious, and I love that it's.

00:16:37
Speaker 4: Such as it was the same art season Charity on our season, Shane, the same thing. Some of us just really Jeald and we're still really good friends to this day. It's it's the you know, it's the little gift you didn't know you were going to get when you're signed up for this whole thing.

00:16:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:16:53
Speaker 6: You can find love in so many different ways through this thing, and this is definitely a form of that.

00:16:59
Speaker 3: I honestly, throughout everything that's.

00:17:01
Speaker 6: Happened too, we've only gotten closer, like we've only bought it I can imagine. Yeah, yeah, which is is interesting too. But I think, you know, with this cast and this group of guys, as weird as it is to say, and as hard as this has been, I wouldn't want to go through all of this with like any other group.

00:17:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that's sweet, That's super sweet.

00:17:30
Speaker 2: Okay, without spoiling the season, because the audience is just there.

00:17:34
Speaker 1: We're on the edge of our seats and that's why we're talking to you guys and just getting to know you guys. Describe this season in one word to the best of your ability.

00:17:45
Speaker 2: So like, obviously the season's.

00:17:48
Speaker 1: Paused right now, so we're hopeful, so we want to get us, get us eager again.

00:17:54
Speaker 3: Okay, don't look at me.

00:17:58
Speaker 5: You can't take our eyes off him.

00:17:59
Speaker 3: I know.

00:18:00
Speaker 1: I'm like, this must be good because he's taking his time, he's trying to find a good one.

00:18:03
Speaker 3: I'm trying to find a good word. Oh, okay, refreshing.

00:18:08
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Shane, So we are going to segue into our fun little game.

00:18:12
Speaker 2: It's called hot seat.

00:18:13
Speaker 1: So basically that is just like rapid fire prompts, and it is just to get the audience to know your personality better. So just answer whatever you think of top of mind to the best of your ability.

00:18:23
Speaker 3: Okay, sounds good, Let's do it.

00:18:25
Speaker 2: Okay, perfect? Okay.

00:18:26
Speaker 1: So the first one is, how do you describe the perfect breakfast burrito?

00:18:31
Speaker 2: And aware is the world's best? Heard you're a fan of breakfast burrito.

00:18:37
Speaker 3: I told you, guys, I was two hundred and seventy pounds, huge fan.

00:18:43
Speaker 6: I'm gonna have to go with La. La has the best breakfast burrito and I'm here now do.

00:18:49
Speaker 5: You want to bring you one?

00:18:51
Speaker 7: Please?

00:18:52
Speaker 3: Please? I will venmo you right now if you've got a wake up late for me.

00:18:57
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:18:58
Speaker 5: Just I live to serve shame and I live to serve.

00:19:01
Speaker 6: Oh, come on now, I'm gonna start getting read Kathy.

00:19:08
Speaker 4: All right, I want to know what, since I'm a big talker, what's your favorite thing to yap about?

00:19:13
Speaker 3: I love conspiracy theories?

00:19:17
Speaker 2: Can you give us like, well maybe maybe not.

00:19:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll leave it, but topic.

00:19:24
Speaker 1: I was like, I'm intrigued, so I want to know. But we'll save that for later.

00:19:28
Speaker 3: We'll chat charity, We'll bad Okay.

00:19:31
Speaker 1: Our last one is we heard you just at the bar when did you find out if you passed?

00:19:36
Speaker 2: Oh my god? Or you haven't found out.

00:19:40
Speaker 6: No, I don't find out until May took it in February.

00:19:44
Speaker 2: Amazing.

00:19:46
Speaker 5: I just you just take the bar for Georgia.

00:19:49
Speaker 6: This is a different bar. I took a without giving I took a different bar exam.

00:19:53
Speaker 1: Okay, okay, Well we're gonna say all the prayers, like, thank you so much guy.

00:19:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's amazing.

00:20:01
Speaker 6: It is also nice that I get to like not think about it for a few months for sure.

00:20:05
Speaker 2: For sure.

00:20:06
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:20:06
Speaker 7: Oh love that.

00:20:07
Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, Yeah that's huge. Okay, before we wrap, obviously, Bachelor Nation is so excited to get to know you guys and listen to all these podcasts. Is there anything that you want to share with Bachelation any like words of wisdom you want to leave people with, and then also drop us your social so we can keep up with you guys in the meantime.

00:20:32
Speaker 6: I think Vats Nation is going to really be rough, freshed from our season and really enjoy like a group of men who know what they want mm hmm. And they're going to get to see a different side and a different version of a lead that's not out.

00:20:50
Speaker 2: There okay period. Yeah, we'll take that.

00:20:55

00:21:49
Speaker 1: All right, guys, today is April second, and we are back with Rachel. Rachel, welcome back. I'm so happy. I missed you so much, so so much.

00:21:59
Speaker 8: Feel I have missed a million things since I have last been here. So much has happened the last time I was here, Taylor was still going to be the Bachelorette that Sunday.

00:22:13
Speaker 2: That's actually crazy. It's been that long.

00:22:15
Speaker 8: And now I feel like we just have no idea what's happening.

00:22:18
Speaker 9: Everything is still so up in the air.

00:22:22
Speaker 8: I was away, I had a funeral, my grandpa passed away. So it's just been a crazy time. But I'm ready to be back and.

00:22:31
Speaker 9: To get into everything.

00:22:32
Speaker 8: But I did listen to your episodes with Kathy, and what are your thoughts.

00:22:38
Speaker 9: Well, first of all.

00:22:40
Speaker 8: I mean top of the episode, when Kathy kept saying, this is on pause. I didn't even know that we were on pause. I thought this was just kind of done.

00:22:50
Speaker 2: Wait you didn't, I didn't know, like tell you to. That's actually crazy.

00:22:55
Speaker 1: I found out that a Happy Hour, Well, you know what, the greatest place to get your Bachelor news.

00:23:02
Speaker 2: Hello.

00:23:03
Speaker 8: I really did hear it here first, But I thought what you said was just so amazing. And I know we've talked a little bit off camera and off podcasts about what's happening, and I think, coming from a mental health expert perspective, your take obviously is just so amazing and I agree with everything you said.

00:23:25
Speaker 9: Obviously, this is so unpressant.

00:23:29
Speaker 8: I did, like, it's hard to put into words how I feel because there was a.

00:23:34
Speaker 9: Child involved, So there.

00:23:36
Speaker 8: Really is just nothing else you can say other than it's just horrible the whole situation.

00:23:42
Speaker 9: And like you said, I hope to God.

00:23:44
Speaker 8: Everyone is getting the help they need and that this child is being protected and that she doesn't have to see any of this.

00:23:51
Speaker 9: That's just immediately what I thought. But yeah, this is just such a crazy situation.

00:23:57
Speaker 2: No, it really is.

00:23:59
Speaker 1: In the thought that I just feel like we're just you know, it's we're in like the waiting room. That's what it feels like, you know, like you're I hate to like compare it to that, but like that's literally what this is. It's like we're just all, you know, kind of on edge and trying to figure out, okay, like what's next, like you know, and I know obviously we've been interviewing some of the guys and that has just been so I think what everyone kind of wants or needs in this situation. It's like we're anticipating things, but we don't really know what exactly to anticipate, and so I was like, I feel like the least that we could do is like, give these men like an opportunity to just like let let let out.

00:24:38
Speaker 2: Let loose Ben.

00:24:39
Speaker 1: I don't know, just give them, like I guess, a safe space to come and you know, talk about how they're feeling with everything, and just get to know them, which has been really, really exciting. You missed a very very special episode, Rachel, which.

00:24:53
Speaker 8: One I was gonna say, because I've been listening and I've loved getting to know these guys.

00:24:58
Speaker 2: Christy he was your favorite. I'm so okay, well now that you ask.

00:25:03
Speaker 9: Christopher was amazing.

00:25:05
Speaker 8: The way he speaks, is so emotionally intelligent, the way he's so in tune, and I was just so impressed by him, and he was amazing. I also was just listening to Casey that one just came out.

00:25:19
Speaker 9: I love him, yep, yep, yep.

00:25:22
Speaker 8: The way he was like about to cry talking about his past relationship and how he wanted to better himself and all the.

00:25:28
Speaker 2: Things I'm understanding. Tell me about it.

00:25:31
Speaker 1: Like I literally that entire episode if you go and watch, I don't even know how many like moments of my facial reactions are clipped in there, but I'm like on the verge of tears. I literally like, after I got down for crowd, I was like, oh, I need to go like just cry in the bathroom because I'm like, he's just so pure, but it's like peer with like intention, and he's like filled with so much like life, like he once experienced life. I'm like, do you understand how rare that is for a man? I'm so sorry we're taking it there, Like, do you understand how really I.

00:26:03
Speaker 8: Was about to say for a man to go through a breakup where he felt like the girl wronged him and moved on, and he goes the first thing I'm going to do is improve myself.

00:26:12
Speaker 2: I was like, Wow, who raised him?

00:26:15
Speaker 1: I want to meet he needs to hold a masterclass. Not even just for bachelor boys because I don't think I think they all probably will fail, just for men in general.

00:26:25
Speaker 8: I was dying too, and he was like, I used to watch The Bachelor and I thought, you know, these men have jobs.

00:26:30
Speaker 1: And they're so upstanding, and I know, I said, he's so innocent and like he just thinks.

00:26:35
Speaker 2: I'm like, he thinks the world of everyone, and I'm like, I love him, I really do the best.

00:26:40
Speaker 9: Who else did you interview?

00:26:42
Speaker 8: Since I've been away because I know they're not up yet, all of them.

00:26:47
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I think you had a little bit of a crush on someone.

00:26:52
Speaker 2: Oh Shane.

00:26:53
Speaker 9: Who Oh, I have a crush on all of them.

00:26:55
Speaker 2: But yes, Shane, I love ye. No wait wait, there's only one Shane one Shane.

00:27:03
Speaker 9: Yes, absolutely, yeah.

00:27:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, the one that you said was the most attractive Georgia attracted, gonna win or be the Bachelor?

00:27:10
Speaker 9: Yes, I remember.

00:27:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, So we had a we had a great conversation with Shack without me with out.

00:27:16
Speaker 1: But listen, I am a good friend and I'm always listening out, looking out, and I word, I did, I said, Rachel Reki, I did say you were the most attractive in this franchise.

00:27:27
Speaker 2: And I said blush. So I said, hold on, do we have something here? I'm here for it. Oh, Shane, happened? If you're not, we don't know how the season ends.

00:27:37
Speaker 9: I was gonna say, we don't know how the season ends.

00:27:39
Speaker 8: But I did see someone from Taylor's cast throwing it out there for Jesse Draper public.

00:27:46
Speaker 2: I saw that too. I'm so glad you brought that up because I said, what's really like? It's like it? Are we not like? Are we not exhausted yet. I said, there can't be more things happening.

00:27:55
Speaker 9: There can't be more things.

00:27:57
Speaker 8: And also, is this season not on pause?

00:28:00
Speaker 2: How do we know?

00:28:01
Speaker 1: Like, I'm here for everyone. Get in there, you know, their second third, whatever chance?

00:28:06
Speaker 2: I love?

00:28:07
Speaker 1: But I said, sisters going through some things right now? I said, it's the time now.

00:28:12
Speaker 9: The body is not even not so warm?

00:28:15
Speaker 1: No, I said, is she not filing for a divorce right now? Is she not dealing with that? I was like, not shooting your shot? Like, this is crazy to me. I'm so sorry, it's crazy. I you know, Hey, I guess I get it.

00:28:27
Speaker 2: I'm here for it.

00:28:28
Speaker 9: I'm interested. I can't wait. Have we spoken to him yet?

00:28:31
Speaker 2: I really, no, we have it. I'll be interested. Yeah, I will be asking all questions. Oh my good, Yeah yeah.

00:28:41
Speaker 8: Yeah, because that's just insane.

00:28:44
Speaker 2: I don't know.

00:28:45
Speaker 8: It's like so many things are happening. It feels like a lot of people are acting as if.

00:28:49
Speaker 9: This season isn't gonna air. Is it gonna air?

00:28:53
Speaker 2: Who knows?

00:28:54
Speaker 8: I wish that we had something for everyone, But this is literally just the Bachelor in purgatory right now. And we welcome back to.

00:29:04
Speaker 9: Bachelor in purgatory. What is happening?

00:29:08
Speaker 1: Literally, we are We're hanging on everyone, But I think, yeah, I think we're doing our best, Rachel, and that's all we can do. Absolutely, everyone's doing their very best.

00:29:22
Speaker 9: All right, Well we caught up.

00:29:24
Speaker 8: I think it's time to get this party started. So let's bring in our first guy.

00:29:28
Speaker 1: Today's guest that's with us is forty three year old real estate broker from Carnelle, Indiana.

00:29:35
Speaker 2: Welcome Matt to Bachelor Happy Hour.

00:29:38
Speaker 7: Hey, thanks, guys, I appreciate it. Thanks for having me.

00:29:40
Speaker 2: We are excited to chat.

00:29:43
Speaker 8: Yes, we're so excited to have you here. We have so much to talk about. First of all, tell us, how are you feeling. We know there's so much happening right now.

00:29:53
Speaker 10: Yeah, well, it's kind of a day by day thing, right, I mean, some of these things have been unexpected, but especially when you have kids involved and some of the complexities of what's going on. But taking a day of time, I hope that everyone involved is doing okay because of those nuances with kids and everything like that. But I'm just taking a day of time. I think everyone else is also, but still I see it. But nothing but a privilege to have been a part of all this, and to be talking to you, guys, I have the great things to say about everybody involved. I made great friends along the way, and so for me though with the other it's just the day by day thing and and here we are.

00:30:32
Speaker 1: So have you and like the rest of the guys from your season, have you guys just kind of been really leaning on each other during this time, I would assume.

00:30:41
Speaker 10: So I will say this though, the every the producers and the aftercare team and everyone has been so great and we've been able leaning to them and talk to them. And for those watching who do not know this, there's a whole aftercare team that's been amazing and so that's been special. And that's I was talking about earlier full circle where it's it's it's it's just been so great to be a part of all this because it's not just about Taylor and the guys, it's about everybody else behind the scenes, and that's been really great.

00:31:10
Speaker 8: Yes, we love everyone behind the scenes. We could not do it without them. But we want to know some more about you. So tell us first, how.

00:31:17
Speaker 9: Did you get into this? How did you get onto Taylor.

00:31:20
Speaker 7: Sees it, No, it's funny.

00:31:22
Speaker 10: It's kind of funny because I just got out of a relationship and that ended on a Thursday, and then the next Wednesday morning, I got an email, random email saying if you want, and I was just sad.

00:31:35
Speaker 7: Enough to where I said, okay, this is a scam.

00:31:37
Speaker 2: I'm gonna I was going to say.

00:31:39
Speaker 9: I would be like, am I big scammed?

00:31:41
Speaker 7: Yeah? I was like, my big scam, but I'm sad about what I'm there.

00:31:44
Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.

00:31:46
Speaker 7: So I DM them back.

00:31:48
Speaker 10: I got a response right away, and that started the journey of the back and forth with interviews and phone calls. And about halfway through that process, they said, hey, you know ABC is actually switching going to be the Bachelorette and so the bachelor. Would you consider being one of the guys? And I said absolutely. They said, well, we think that Taylor might be the person. She's in Utah? Is that okay? And I said, well, my three last exes are from out of state, one not out of fourth.

00:32:14
Speaker 8: Wow, did you know anything about Taylor when you heard that she was going to be the Bachelorette?

00:32:21
Speaker 7: No, you know, not really.

00:32:23
Speaker 10: And I did, of course a little bit of research, but I kept a pretty high level on purpose. When I go and date, I always think it's important to get to that first date and get to know some people who they are today, yeah, not for who they are for their past, And so I wanted to keep it high level for that reason. And so when I showed up to the show itself, to be able to get to know her for who she was in that moment versus what everybody else was saying in the media or on Instagram or TikTok. For me, that was important. So yeah, so that's what I came to the show with and I'm still glad that that's why I showed up.

00:33:00
Speaker 7: Yeah.

00:33:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, were there anything that like characteristics or traits that you were like specifically looking for, like obviously heading into this experience knowing how crazy it was going to be, but like keeping your heart and you know, expectations.

00:33:13
Speaker 7: I guess still there in Taylor herself, you mean.

00:33:17
Speaker 2: Or like just like what you were looking for in a partner.

00:33:19
Speaker 10: Yeah, Like, yeah, that's a good question, you know, for me, I'll answer it this way. My kids were pretty sad when they found out that maybe I was I was going to be leaving, right And I told them, well, dad, because so my parents have been married for fifty years, and what my dad told me a long time ago was the best way you can show your kids what love is is by showing love to your spouse or to your partner, right. And so I told my kids, look, I'm going to go for us as a unit and to go find someone that can fill that gap in our lives to be a part of our family and for me to be able to show you guys what love it is in real time. And and so I went on the show for that reason. And you know, for some people on Naive given what's come out, but of course none of us knew about some of those things.

00:34:09
Speaker 7: And yeah, get on there with two intensions.

00:34:11
Speaker 10: A lot of the guys that I got to know well on the show showed up with the same feeling and the same intention that I did, which is we're here for the right reasons. There's a lot of guys on this on the season and and uh and so we all were there, the guys that I got to know well for the right reasons, looking for that care and so that that's what I was looking for, That's what I was hoping to find. And and uh, yeah, so that those are some of the elements of what made it from a special experience.

00:34:42
Speaker 8: That is so beautiful what you said about your parents, And I mean you and Taylor both were married before and have children. So what was it like going into this experience having that in common.

00:34:53
Speaker 7: Yeah, well we both have three, so you.

00:34:56
Speaker 9: Both have three.

00:34:58
Speaker 8: Oh my goodness, right, Yeah.

00:35:05
Speaker 10: I think it gives you an interesting perspective on relationships in life. And for me, I came to the show feeling like, Okay, she understands what it means to have three, not just being a parent, but also have three.

00:35:20
Speaker 7: And there's a lot of logistics.

00:35:21
Speaker 10: Involved, and you know, you're running around to different events or school, you know.

00:35:28
Speaker 7: Meeting with parents, teacher parent conferences.

00:35:31
Speaker 10: And you know, supporting events, work with them if they're playing soccer or whatever the case might be. And it just gives you another perspective on how I'll tell you this. Typically with your parent, what it forces you to do is to be confront the fact that we're all really selfish people, and so when you have kids, it forces you to realize that and to realize how you have to be unselfish when you have kids, try to be there as a parent and so I was excited to be around her, to be able to connect on that level of you get it, so do I? You know, let's explore a means to navigate this crazy thing which is being a parent. No one gives you this manual and says, you know, this is exactly a linear way it happens, that doesn't happen that way, right, It's one of those things. It's you're figuring out as you go and and as the you know, she's the worst, I am too, which adds another layer to it, and you're just trying the best you can to to help them through it all too.

00:36:27
Speaker 1: So, yeah, how if you're comfortable sharing, like, how is that dynamic with your your kids like your partner your previous partner and co parenting?

00:36:45
Speaker 8: How is that?

00:36:45
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:36:46
Speaker 7: Yeah, no, it's I don't mind answering this. Yeah. So my ex wife and I have a very good relationship.

00:36:51
Speaker 10: Now, you know, we got married were very young, and so we were both twenty four years old when we got married, and so wow, yeah, and so I have nothing but the utmost respect for her. She's a great mom our. Relationship now is you know, it's about the kids, and yeah.

00:37:09
Speaker 7: We make it work.

00:37:10
Speaker 10: Because of that, and you know, thank god, I don't have those nightmare stories. You can't be in the same room as that person or yeah, use special apps to communicate. So we're not in that situation, thank god. And in fact, she was very very nice about me even going on the show because I was that easy and so so it's been good.

00:37:29
Speaker 7: You know, we've learned.

00:37:30
Speaker 10: I've been divorced slash separated for seven years, and so we've found a way. We found our rhythm is the best way of putting it.

00:37:37
Speaker 9: So I love that.

00:37:39
Speaker 8: I think a lot of guys who go on the show, we've only I think had one other mother before Emily.

00:37:45
Speaker 3: Right.

00:37:46
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:37:46
Speaker 8: I think it's one thing when people are like, oh, yeah, I'm ready to be a parent. But you went in already knowing how hard this is. So dating outside of this, what has that been like for you?

00:37:55
Speaker 9: Has that been difficult?

00:37:57
Speaker 3: Well?

00:37:57
Speaker 10: I tell people I can fill arenas with my dating stories. Well, I tell you it changes the perspective of how you show up in dating kind Yeah, changes how what you're looking for. And you can't just look for someone for you anymore. It's about searching for them as well, and you're not looking to replace their mom. Right, that's not a healthy looking at it, But you're you're looking for someone who can come alongside you.

00:38:28
Speaker 7: I look at dating as you're both.

00:38:30
Speaker 10: In your separate lanes and you come together and you go together that in that spirit, right, and can elevate you bring out the best in you, because dating or relationships in their best way or in their healthiest capacity, are where we're both elevating each other to become the best versions of ourselves.

00:38:50
Speaker 3: Right.

00:38:51
Speaker 10: And so that's what I've been looking for, is someone who can feel that that void where you're just searching for somebody who can be that teammate with you. Some absolutely, I mean at the end of the day, you know, who doesn't love those images of somebody who's those old couples who are walking with their canes. And it sounds big, but at the end of the day, that's what I hope to find.

00:39:13
Speaker 7: And yeah, that's what life is about.

00:39:16
Speaker 10: I believe we were created to be relational and and so when you have that partner that's with you that can do those things, that to me is the most amazing part of life. And and I still have an amazing hope that that person will will come along my way and that we'll be able to do that.

00:39:31
Speaker 8: Well, we're keeping our fingers crossed for that.

00:39:34
Speaker 9: I know you said, teammate.

00:39:37
Speaker 8: We heard that you were a Division one athlete.

00:39:40
Speaker 9: Tell us a little bit about that.

00:39:41
Speaker 2: I'm ready to dive into that. I'm like, tell us more.

00:39:45
Speaker 10: Well, you can't tell them this camera right now. But I am six eight. A wild story because I grew up overseas in Latin America. Spanish was actually wow language, and so really it's getting you know, But yeah, I wish I still had the Antonio ban dead ass accent though.

00:40:06
Speaker 2: You know that I was going to say.

00:40:07
Speaker 1: I was like, it's you have a very like your English is like I would have in Midwestern at all everything.

00:40:16
Speaker 10: I missed that accent now especially you know, you can bring it out, you know. But yeah, now, but it's funny because I grew up overseas playing baseball in soccer, which is what Latin America is part of culture down there. But I kept growing and growing and growing, and all of a sudden I became six' eight AND i picked up a basketball for the first time WHEN i was about, thirteen which is super. LATE i had a great high school coach and when we moved To denver WHEN i was about, fourteen and he just was an incredible, coach both in terms of developing me as a player but also as a young man back, then with character being the biggest thing that he wanted to develop in. Me but BEFORE i knew, IT i was in the top one of a basketball players in the country twenty two scholarship.

00:41:03
Speaker 7: Offers believe it or.

00:41:03
Speaker 2: Not oh my, goodness, Insane oh my.

00:41:06
Speaker 7: Gosh, Yeah and so it was a special.

00:41:09
Speaker 10: Time and all of a, Sudden purdue came along and they're one of the top teams in the. Country in, fact year of preseason there were number one heading into the. Season they just got eliminated from the late Eight and BUT i went there because of the combination of athletics but also just academics and how they are there as. Well so it was an incredible experience AND i still feel Like i'm a part of the. FAMILY i can go back and feel a part of, it and they do a great job of making you feel like you're a.

00:41:41
Speaker 7: Part of a.

00:41:41
Speaker 10: Family that that has made it a very special experience during my time.

00:41:46
Speaker 9: There and then after oh my, gosh you said didn't.

00:41:49
Speaker 2: You, yeah you turned.

00:41:50
Speaker 1: YOU i, Know i'm, like didn't you do your announcement video at.

00:41:56
Speaker 3: Their?

00:41:56
Speaker 2: Gym like that's?

00:41:58
Speaker 10: Epic, yeah it was, amazing it. Was it was fun to go back and do that. There, yes for, SURE i love.

00:42:05
Speaker 8: That well you, SOUND i, mean you've done so many, Things you've lived so many. Places you seem like you have just lived so many. Lives were you the oldest guy in the.

00:42:15
Speaker 7: HOUSE i was the oldest guy in the. House but but how was?

00:42:19
Speaker 2: That that comes with? Wisdom?

00:42:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah you know it.

00:42:28
Speaker 7: Was it was a fun dynamic for.

00:42:30
Speaker 10: ME i mean at times it was you, know you're navigating you know what that means in terms of having that that different age. Gap and What i've learned, though is that age this sounds, cliche but it's only a number, really, Right and a lot of those guys on the season were extremely mature and wise in their own. Right SO i ended up having a lot of very deep conversations and about, life about, family about, dating regardless of our. Age and so that made for really not only fun, dynamic but also just a memorable. Experience but WHAT i would tell you is that the age thing for, me what it's. Done is it's allowed me to live more. Life, Right So i've lived.

00:43:12
Speaker 3: All over the.

00:43:13
Speaker 10: World i've lived In, EUROPE i worked In asia for over a.

00:43:16
Speaker 7: Decade i've grew up In Latin. America i've got.

00:43:19
Speaker 10: Kids i've been, unfortunately so it's not really about wisdom but more about like life lived and giving me that kind of perspective is really what it. Is and so, yeah so it's but, yeah the guys WERE i got along with a lot of guys who had wisdom and maturity beyond their.

00:43:37
Speaker 7: Years really WHEN i was, there.

00:43:39
Speaker 2: Amazing, yeah BECAUSE I i love hearing.

00:43:42
Speaker 1: THAT i, mean thank, god bachelor cast with maturity and.

00:43:45
Speaker 7: Wisdom, yes, RIGHT.

00:43:49
Speaker 9: I was going to, say, yeah it's sometimes so.

00:43:51
Speaker 8: Rare do you still keep in contact or is there anyone that you're really close in the?

00:43:54
Speaker 9: House, WELL i.

00:43:55
Speaker 10: Got really close With Conrad chain AND i had a lot of. Conversations christopher AND i acted because we're both. Dads rod AND i had a lot of great. Conversations BUT i WISH i could tell you that we're all sitting, here you, know on phone calls all the. Time but at the end of the, day BUT i will say, this that's the first QUESTION i, get what were the guys? Like you, know tell people all the time because it looks, like you, know you think you're showing up to some kind of gladiator, ring you, know and you're handed swords and, shields and you're, like go figure it, out, right. Right but when i've that, athlete didn't you kicked in the first, Night you're, like all, right you know the competitive.

00:44:35
Speaker 2: Side you, know, yeah, yeah, yeah for, SURE i don't.

00:44:39
Speaker 7: Know that transition very quickly to oh my, god, MAN i think you might be my best. Friend you, know, no it's.

00:44:44
Speaker 10: Crazy so twenty four hours, later you realize just how much in common you have with certain, people and you spend a lot of time, together and so you, you you just get to know these guys very. Quickly it's a very unique, experience and so you bond for those reason since, right gravitate to certain guys and you end up having an amazing time with them for that. Reason and SO i tell people all the, time even though some of them don't believe me WHEN i say, it but some of these guys will probably be in my wedding one, day and, absolutely you, know and SO i look forward to. That but that's that's HOW i see those, guys AND i have nothing but respect for. Them we were all chosen for a. Reason we're all very different and and but you get there you, realize, oh these guys were all here for a reason and we're uh and that's that's that's what made it amazing.

00:45:31
Speaker 7: Overall.

00:45:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah we've like obviously talked to some of the guys, already BUT i just feel, like as a, whole like as a unit in a, cast you guys are like very, mature which is, LIKE i, mean WHEN i say, Refreshing i'm not just like blowing. Smoke i'm like you she means Like i'm.

00:45:48
Speaker 2: So serious about, it which is like so.

00:45:51
Speaker 1: Impressive but ALSO i guess that says a lot about you, guys and like why you guys even wanted to do the show, obviously you, know Giving taylor her best options at you, know finding. Love SO i really do love that and kind of sense that from all of you.

00:46:05
Speaker 8: GUYS i also, THINK i, mean it's crazy because when we go through this, experience it's so rare that you get to have people that have been through the same. Thing and not only were you guys in the process of being on The. Bachelorette but you guys are the only ones that know what, happened and there's a chance that this might just be between all of you for the, Like, yeah that is really special that you guys at least have each other to lean on regardless of what.

00:46:35
Speaker 10: Happens, yeah it's well, set AND i think that's one of the reasons why we were able to bond so quickly is it's such a unique. Experience and it's funny because the only THING i can even compare it to is WHEN i play. Ball you are at this massive university you, KNOW i Think purdue has when you combine undergrad and grad fifty thousand.

00:46:57
Speaker 7: Students, Right, yeah and there's this.

00:46:59
Speaker 10: Unique unique bond that you develop with fifteen, guys, Right and it's you're the only fifteen guys that understand what it means to go through this. Experience and, meanwhile you have all these people behind the, scenes coaching staff and trainers and everything kind of like what we had on the, show right behind the. Scenes but it's like that unit that gets to be close for that period of, time and that's what this. Was and so you can kind of WHEN i see guys now that play perdue now or that we're on my. Team there's this unspoken kind of camaraderie that exists because of, it and so it's almost like this battle. Tested, hey you know what this was like to go through, this and that's what this is as, well and that's what has made it unique and.

00:47:44
Speaker 8: Special mm hm and you always have a family with bacheloration.

00:47:50
Speaker 2: Guys are you? Guys are? Official?

00:47:52

00:48:04
Speaker 8: Going to play a pretty funny.

00:48:06
Speaker 2: Game it's our hot sea.

00:48:08
Speaker 1: Game so basically it's very similar to like just rapid fire, prompts and it's just to get us to know your personality a little bit more so we only have like, this no, pressure no, pressure, okay.

00:48:20
Speaker 8: Okay on a scale of one to, ten how cool do your kids think you?

00:48:25
Speaker 2: Are?

00:48:27
Speaker 10: WELL i have to say, ten, Right, NO i tell people all the time my kids a. Hilarious but as they get, older they're twelve to ten and eight, now and my twelve year old things by the, Day i'm less and less. Funny But i'm still laying with my ten and eight year. Old, so you know, WHAT i have the advantage of having played college, sports and so when it comes to that kind of, stuff.

00:48:50
Speaker 7: They Think i'm cool for. Sure, YEAH i love.

00:48:53
Speaker 1: It, okay besides Speaking, spanish what other languages do you speak or wish you could?

00:48:59

00:49:05
Speaker 7: ENGLISH i went to my, goodness well growing up so.

00:49:11

00:49:41
Speaker 2: BACKGROUND i was like your arms. Stellar i'm kind of a.

00:49:44
Speaker 10: Perfectionist oh you, know if you walk into space and it's just kind of if there's clothes, everywhere that kind of. Stuff there's no judgment by the. Way it just means that like it's not really coming from a blaze of like. Judgment it's more of like a like my space neat so it clears my. Head so WHEN i ask that on the floor and, everything it's almost LIKE i feel like my mind is thinking about that rather than just being in the. Moment, Correct, oh BEFORE i go to bed and, EVERYTHING i just feel LIKE i have had everything picked, up and so it's more of like me keeping my head clean and. Clear that it is more of like a judgment on other. People it's more of just HOW i kind of like to live to keep my head.

00:50:23
Speaker 8: Clear so, YEAH i could not agree more in the same WAY i have anything on the.

00:50:28
