However, as of right now, those are rookie numbers in the United States taking on the sweets in the semi finals for curling, which, by the way, I've noticed this is this the most relatable sport in the Olympics because everyone watches it and goes, oh, I could do that.

What a play for anyone who watched it was three v three and overtime and really, if you watch the game in general, Canada had us dead to rights, but at the end of it we're able to tie up. I think we'll under two minutes left taken into overtime, three v three and the United States does the rest. That was a cool moment like that, That was one of those moments that I'm not trying to compare it to miracle. It's not. It's not that. But for this Winter Olympics, seeing that team the celebration everything else that got me, That got me a little choked up. Ye, I felt patriotic. Watch now. I don't know how you guys. Yeah choked Yes, I love it, dude. Here's the thing. My wife's an Olympian, so like I've been through this process, you know, watching her go for it, watching your represent the United States her then being a part of it, and watching the girls that I've known kind of grow up into it and then have their chance to compete and go represent the United States. It hits close to home, man, like, it's it's as patriotic as it gets. I know, you'd sell out our country and a heartbeat Jonas, but that's not where I if I could win some money on it and bought a bet, yeah exactly. It is what it is that you're probably been on the Swiss right now, the Swiss women and curling up. You know, that's a great point. You'll probably get some live lines on that if you're if you're looking around hard enough, why not go.

It's a private school, but great school, great tradition there, a really good football program. Ended up going to Illinois playing quarterback there as well. By Alana. Yeah, he's worked his way up the ranks, but mostly through college football. I mean, he just got into the NFL two years ago. No, he was calling players as the offensive coordinator quarterbacks coach for Iowa State. But I believe that was like for a year, maybe maybe a couple of years if you count, like run game coordinator and all that. Like with Matt Campbell.

But I think he's one of those guys who he just is that impressive, you know, whether it's how he conducts a meeting, how he handles himself in interviews, and like I said, I think we've all been across people like that. So when I hear like a young guy's name of people like, well who is this guy? Like how is he? At this point, I'm like, well, Sean McVay probably sees part of himself in him, because that's who Sean McVay was. I mean, again, you guys were on the West Coast. You guys remember when Sean McVay was hired, there was some questions about it, Like you literally went from Jeff Fisher, who was like the most kind of stable, steady hand like wiley veteran had coached in the NFL forever. I mean, how he coached the Houston Oilers, Yes he did so, like you literally went from that to McVay, which I'm sure was a big question marked a lot of people out there on the West Coast, and maybe there's still some question marks about Shielhouse. But I would say trust in the process, Trust in who Sean McVay is and his ability to see talent, because clearly he knows what he's doing. He doesn't bring in and hire you guys are a dump. He's smart people.

Speaker 3: I remember when Sean McVay came in and interviewed, it was similar to the Mike Tomlin stuff to where they weren't expecting that he was going to blow anybody away in the interview process, and he came in and they were stunned, and then they brought him back for a second interview, and I can remember the guy who was kind of pointing it out was Vinnie bon Signor, who it works and covers the Raiders now in Vegas, and he was saying, Man, I'm hearing a lot of good things about this Sean McVay guy. He blew him away in the first interview, blew them away in the second. It feels like this there's momentum building.

You might not consider a coach in their early forties in the old NFL. This new NFL, they're hiring younger. The game has gotten younger, and I'm telling you, I think it's because the players have changed. The way you interact and you deal with players has to be very, very different in twenty twenty six. It's a theory, it's a thought. But this new wave of younger coaches coming in. We just had the youngest coach in the history of the league, right just win the Super Bowl?

I think he might be the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl. I'm I'm, I'm. I almost feel like I'm certain on that, But I'm just curious. Is this out of necessity? Is it is it easy to fire? Is it easier to fire a young guy and say, hey, you know there's plenty of young guys. I just wonder why has it become such a there is a mold or there is a profile that I feel is developing in the head coaching hiring cycles, and it's younger with all of them.

Speaker 2: This question, though, I don't know. I think I think it's us and I think I think that's our perspective on how the hying process has gone. Like if you think through times like Steve Jobs, I think he was like twenty one years old when he founded Apple. You know, Steve wo was in the act. His partner was like twenty six. You know, look at Microsoft, Paul Allen was twenty two years old. I mean, if you go through like history, and I relate to these specific examples of successful companies because you know that's what you have with the NFL. You have thirty two successful companies obviously, right, they're like recession proof. These things never can go out of business, bad years, whatever, doesn't matter. They print money. And so you're you're tasked with finding whoever that next bright mind is, whether it be young, old, what have you to lead your team? And I think it's just in some ways a little bit of our misconception that, like, you know, young people haven't blazed this path before. But the truth of the matter is they have. It's just it doesn't happen quite as often. And I think we also like to believe that you need to have experience, you need to you know, go through some of the bumps and bruises in order to understand like what that job entails. Experience, maybe be a better decision maker, yeah, but maybe you're a better decision maker not having that experience, yeah, right, And to that point is bliss, they say, right, yeah, And I think people tend to forget like a lot of this country was actually built on entrepreneurism, where you have people who are starting up a company. They have an idea, they have a product, a service, whatever, and they end up then making it, you know, and they get to a certain point where maybe they bring in some other people who can't help them, but it's their idea, it's their baby that they where they get it. And I think that's what we're starting to see a little bit too in sports, with people feeling more confident and hiring some of these young people who have been ingrained in this whole thing since they were probably five or six as an athlete, and then they transition into coaching relatively quickly because that's their expertise, that's what they've been doing and maybe their entire life. We've looked at it and said, well they were you know again, in Shieldhouse's case, a highly talented quarterback out of Kansas City, Missouri goes to Illinois. You know that the career ends at some point, but maybe the end higher time, he's preparing himself for that moment. I could. I can promise you this. I know Sean McVay was. I remember going to you know, uptown or old town whatever it is in Oxford, Ohio, and him be on the football team and being around and seeing like some of the guys who were on the team during that time. I mean he was even younger than me. But I remember like going to see my high school sweeter at the time and and you'd see this stuff and you're like, all right, that guy's got stuff together. What she looked like, Oh God, we don't. We're not going there. But the point is that I think probably more common than we realize. I see, this is why I can't even bring stuff up. It's a Toledo Rocket can't even bring stuff up anyway.
