00:00:00 Speaker 1: Welcome everyone. It is the local three hundred dealers KSR postgame show for the second time. We are here live in San Francisco, ready to bring you some good Kentucky Oklahoma postgame reactions. Cats win ninety four to seventy eight. I'm Matt Jones, Drew Franklin, Billy R Sports, and Mario Maitland. 00:00:23 Speaker 2: All. 00:00:23 Speaker 1: We are in Billy's room here on the well. I'm not gonna say what floor of the hotel. We don't need people, we don't need the paparazzi coming to see Billy. But we are here ready to go. Just had some Koreean food. Feels like we've been up for forty three straight hours, but we're rocking and rolling, and we got to watch Kentucky win ninety four to seventy eight in an SEC game that they actually handled with relative control for most of the game, one that we definitely needed. Drew, this has been a top five KSR day of all time, been one of my favorite working days of all time. Save a lot of that for the show tomorrow, but it's been an excellent day and glad to finish it here tonight. 00:01:06 Speaker 3: Yes, it has been an all timer, been an absolute dream and we got to end it watching Kentucky couldn't be there, but followed it from out here was a game, you know, just just get past this one, handle your business at home. However, it looks just get out of there with the wins. Now what seven out of eight? You got some momentum looking good to end up pulling away at the end, even to build on that confidence. So I'm just I'm glad we could excel. Never was too worried about it, but it's one that you couldn't slip up and lose all your great momentum before. 00:01:32 Speaker 1: It's the Brandon Garrison game, right And I want to go into some detail because I think this is maybe the best game of his career. But you know, we're gonna since we're out on the road, we decided we were gonna have everybody. This has been a top This has gotta be Billi's best day. He's on fire. Maybe the last five or six minutes a little stressful, but besides that, this has got to be like your best day of your life. Tom Hart, with multiple references during the game to you, mentioned quarter zips, mentioned digital business cards, UH mentioned finding a new job, Billy are you serious, Billy, Are you serious? This had to be awesome. Even mentioned one for Ryan working him up into a lather, all of that happening during the game. This has to be a great And then you were at your dream. You've wanted to be on media row your entire life and you got to do that today. 00:02:25 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's hard to put into words what this day has meant to me. 00:02:27 Speaker 1: Guys. 00:02:27 Speaker 4: I mean, I've still got my quarter zip on and I don't want to take it off. It's been such a great day. And it's flipp I flipped it and reversed it here a little bit, so I was all business with the blue and with the gray. But thanks Tom for those those mentions and him tweeting during the game, was like a wow, that's. 00:02:44 Speaker 1: That you deserve. You deserve it before you go leave us for a new job. 00:02:50 Speaker 4: Tomorrow. 00:02:50 Speaker 1: Well exit, What a great way to go out before you go find a new job for Ario. It's been an awesome day, hasn't it has? 00:03:00 Speaker 5: Man really cool setup that the Super Bowls have in San Francisco, Like as a whole, it's. 00:03:06 Speaker 1: Really cool what they do with that super Bowl. 00:03:09 Speaker 5: It's very cool. 00:03:10 Speaker 1: Man. I'm just having fun, man, you guys are listen, this is not This is gonna be a different kind of post show. I'm just gonna go ahead more in you. It's late at night. Here's the thing. We missed the first half of the game, so I'm just gonna acknowledge that up front. We had to go to an ESPN thing which was for the Rich Eisen. Rich Eisen's doing a podcast series called This Was Sports Center about the history of Sports Center, and he had Chris Berman as his guest, and we had to go to the party before because I had to meet all of the various ESPN bosses. I took these fools with me, and so we missed the first half. So like, honestly, you all know more about what happened in the first half than that, so feel free to call and tell us about it. It would be be like we're learning to Drew. We didn't watch the second half, but we we're gonna have to learn about the first time. 00:04:01 Speaker 3: Billy was trying to be slid with the game on his phone at the party, but it was very obvious watch. 00:04:06 Speaker 1: The president of the ESPN was right at the table next to us and Billy in this social gathering pulls out his phone and is watching it, and I was like, Bill, you have to put that away. 00:04:18 Speaker 4: Well, I did my networking at Radio Row. You were doing your networking and at. 00:04:22 Speaker 1: A VIP event, and you can't watch television. 00:04:27 Speaker 4: Post game show. 00:04:28 Speaker 3: I mean, at least he wasn't watching a different network. 00:04:30 Speaker 1: That is a good point. You were watching, That's right, you were. You were watching watching that Brandon Garrison big time game twenty points, first double double of his Kentucky career, which I didn't realize, played with aggression that he must there's something he must like about Oklahoma. Yeah, he's from there. 00:04:48 Speaker 3: He grew up, you know, in that rivalry and around it. We know the games last year, how passionate it was. I remember it's a big deal that he had his son at the games in Oklahoma last year and he played well in front of him. Then he had him out in the ward after doing it against Night. But that that logo, man, it triggers him. I mean he starts seeing red when the Sooners are out there, and now Kentucky's what three and zero because of it? He and o Way both they step it up when Oklahoma's on the other side. 00:05:11 Speaker 1: But I love his twenty points, eleven rebounds, only misses, one shot, good shot selection, didn't play out of control, Billy. This is I mean, this is this is. I mean, obviously you'd love to have it all the time, but I'll take any I'll take half of this from Brandon. 00:05:26 Speaker 4: He gets sometimes you get really good Beg. Most of the time you get really bad Beg. 00:05:30 Speaker 1: But and he almost got a fight again, which was nice. 00:05:32 Speaker 4: Dunked at the end. 00:05:35 Speaker 1: Three seconds left. 00:05:37 Speaker 4: Well, I mean you're gonna need a good Beg if you're gonna want to do anything in the postseason this year. 00:05:43 Speaker 1: Yeah, what's this initial thing? Why are you calling it? When did that start? 00:05:47 Speaker 4: Well, once you say somebody's name once, I mean you can kind of just shorten it after people after that, right, Gee? That is that like I do. 00:05:56 Speaker 1: It was Beg time, it was time, you were you, you were cheering for him, You gave that his and one at the end kind of put the game away. 00:06:05 Speaker 4: Legacy game with BG. 00:06:06 Speaker 1: The legacy, Wow, I don't know about the legacy. I there's a legacy. I don't know. Well, I mean depends, I guess it depends on what his legacy is, but it is it was. It was his best game. 00:06:18 Speaker 3: I liked everybody was expecting on the court there, everybody was expecting him to have a technical and with one second on the clock, he delivered. It's like he knew everybody out there wanted it. 00:06:28 Speaker 1: Well. It continues the stat of all we're undefeated to know when we do it a big o Way twenty four points again, seven of eleven shooting. We take for granted Drew. How good he's been an SEC play. I mean, there was some disappointment in the early year for o Way, but since SEC play has started, he has been unbelievable. 00:06:48 Speaker 3: And here lately it's not just that he scored a lot of points, he's been incredibly efficient. 00:06:52 Speaker 1: What was tonight did you say it was something like seven or eleven? Yeah? Seven eleven. 00:06:56 Speaker 3: I think he was similar to that, uh in the last game. So he's really really, really get it done. And I mean we all had our concerns early. Since they've turned to SEC, he's been the guy we expected, we thought we'd see all season. 00:07:08 Speaker 5: Did you guys see his new braids? I like his he he came out with the new braids. 00:07:12 Speaker 1: Did you'll think about that? I didn't focus on that A new look. 00:07:16 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a new look for whom jayl Low has a new haircut. 00:07:19 Speaker 1: Jayl Low does have a new haircut. That. Yeah, he's thank you though for the braid update. 00:07:24 Speaker 4: Well, he had to step away. 00:07:25 Speaker 1: I don't get that on this show. When Mario's not here, I don't usually do a braid breakdown, but when Mario, when Mario's here, we get a braid breakdown. Uh. 00:07:35 Speaker 4: Well, here's the basketball breakdown. He had to step up. I mean, everybody's injured. I mean, if you're gonna be the SEC preseason player the year, you gotta start acting like it and playing like it. 00:07:43 Speaker 1: Why are you angry? 00:07:44 Speaker 4: Won No, I'm not angry at all. I'm passionate, Okay. 00:07:51 Speaker 1: But I mean you're he's playing great. 00:07:54 Speaker 4: I'm happy that he finally stepped up. He showed some fight on the court, and a couple of games passed and now he's continue in that momentum. 00:08:01 Speaker 1: Well, I think he's been great. Aberdeen, Uh scared everybody? 00:08:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, really mentioned injuries. There for a moment done you know something else with Aberdeen. A quick trip to the locker room. Luckily that's just to scare, but there for a moment, just like God, one thing after another. 00:08:15 Speaker 1: With this team. Yeah, one person rates you all sound stoned on this place gaming show. I promise you were not. We're not. Look I mean, I can we just be honest. It's after midnight on the East Coast. We've had We've had a giddy daddy. I mean literally. We met and interviewed Christian McCaffrey, Terrell Davis, Terrell Davis busting with the Boys, Sean Alexander, who maybe the nicest person in. 00:08:42 Speaker 3: The world and tells a fun story about Kentucky football. 00:08:46 Speaker 1: Yes, tells a great saw. Stevie Johnson, he wrapped his famous two thousand and seven pregame against Louisville rap to us and Drew finished it for it like Drew did it with him. That was amazing and media row was the coolest thing I've ever seen, And like people knew who we were. I don't know how we met. Kelvin Jimstone, Yeah, and Dan Dockitch both especially Dan Dockitch was nice to Dan Dotage had a nice thing to say to me about Larry. I'm gonna have to lay off on him, he did say to me, even though we don't always like each other, And I was like, you know, what though, you were very nice and that's old. And then we saw I mean, and then we saw everybody and we did the half and we went to the ESPN thing, which was a celebrating rich eyesing and Chris Berman and Mario had one of the great moments where he goes, they gave out free rich eyes and Thermoses and Mario goes, I'm gonna put this on my desk and I go, oh, you like rich eyesen And he goes, I don't know who he is. 00:09:54 Speaker 3: You're excited. 00:09:59 Speaker 1: You were at Mario was at the Rich Isaac Chris Bourbon VIP party and didn't know who either one of them was. I'm just enjoying the moment. 00:10:09 Speaker 4: He respects him. He doesn't know who they are, still respects the name though. 00:10:13 Speaker 3: It's that it's that innocence and how like that's what I really to him. 00:10:16 Speaker 1: You're the most innocent person when it comes to this stuff. This is this is a trait that everyone listening should have. Mario treats every single person the same. Would you agree with that he is equally as nice to everybody. You can just be a stranger or And the good thing is because Mario doesn't know anyone. He's the same nice to everyone. So Burke Magnus, who is the president of ESPN, not just ESPN Radio, the whole Dagon company. All right. He comes up and goes, Matt Jones, I'm a fan. I got a heart of flutter. I was like, the president of ESPN knows who I am. Mario shakes his hand and literally it would be the same way he shakes a hand and somebody in ks bar. He's like, yo, guy, yo, man, what's up. He looks at the president us me and he's like, yo, see always. 00:11:12 Speaker 3: Bray Brodny had six tonight, Ronnie Fronnie had six. 00:11:19 Speaker 1: But that's why you're so nice, like you just you talk to the prison of ESPN just like he's anybody. And I think that that's very charred. 00:11:28 Speaker 5: Well, I didn't know he was the president until after he left, so now I know that's what we means. 00:11:33 Speaker 3: It's like when he asked Larry Fitzgerald to take a picture. 00:11:37 Speaker 1: Asked Larry Fitzgerald to take our picture? Like him be the camera man. Didn't you did ask him for a picture? Us timb would take our picture. That's that's hilarious. So anyway, this is just gonna be how the show. 00:11:50 Speaker 3: We've also been up since five and I feel like we've been doing radio all day. 00:11:54 Speaker 1: We've done a lot of radio. So eight five nine two eighty seven call us talk about the game, expect more of this. This is gonna be what it is. And I was just on another show just a few minutes right before this one, so it's been very exciting. We'll take a break and we'll be right back. Take your calls. It's a local toylet Dealers KSR and postgame show. Welcome back. It is a local toy Dealers KSR Post game show. Eight. I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh, text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. There's nobody believing it's true that you and that we have been in the guy. I promise you we've not been in the gummies. We've just just I would like one. But I've not had any issue. I have not. We had Korean chicken. Yeah, haven't you read that. 00:12:43 Speaker 3: It's nice, But I think it's just the excitement of the day, the lack of sleep and the long day. But a day that's been full of fun has turned into a little bit of slap happy here. 00:12:53 Speaker 1: Yes, that's right. Billy is a little stressed. 00:12:56 Speaker 4: I can't wait for the stories to tell that we're gonna tell tomorrow, Like on K s R. And the pre show, I mean some random stuffy on. 00:13:03 Speaker 1: Just the celebrities. We had a we had a run in with Ice, not what you think. Whatever you think when I say that, that's not the kind of run in we had with Ice. No one could even guess the kind of you had with Ice. I'd like for people to guess and see if there's any no way they could come to what are And it was positive interaction. 00:13:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's will wait for tomorrow. Yeah, they didn't thinks. I didn't even know they did. They wanted us to be part of marketing. 00:13:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, it was. It was an unbelievable thing. One person says, how does Mario not know Chris Berman? He's been a legend on ESPN for years. He's the author of many books, maybe the most famous. I don't think he's an author, and maybe the most famous UH sports broadcaster of all time. How do you not know? 00:13:54 Speaker 5: I know a few ESPN personalities, but not him. Like Steven Smith, you got excited when you saw him, did I did? Yeah? He said his name in the car. No, no, no, no help, Scott Van Pelt. 00:14:07 Speaker 1: Okay, there you go. 00:14:07 Speaker 4: Come on now, come on now, can you get one more? 00:14:13 Speaker 1: Five? I can't get five? All right? No, no, but you can't pick like former athletes. I need ESPN personnel. 00:14:19 Speaker 5: Trying to see if the TV can help me out right now, ESPN personalities Former UK guy Michael Eaves the well. Yeah, that's where it gets hard. Let's see you can go throughout history. So you got oh, yes, Stuart, Stuart, Scott, Yes, I got right. 00:14:39 Speaker 1: Any white people. 00:14:43 Speaker 5: Craig No, I don't know n Craig who I was gonna say Craigs? No, no, no, no, I'm thinking Craig Sager. 00:14:53 Speaker 1: Is that his name? TN? 00:14:55 Speaker 5: T Okay, get mixed up? Can I do announcers to like ESPN announcers or. 00:14:59 Speaker 1: Is gotta be a personally? Okay? 00:15:02 Speaker 5: Oh I got one he used to work for He doesn't work there anymore. 00:15:06 Speaker 1: Max. Uh, that's what I don't say. Duffy duffy Max. You know he's with Stephen A. Hugh Smith. He was No, I just know his name, do you? Is it? 00:15:19 Speaker 5: I've seen another one today screw screw Max say, uh, mad Dog, mad Dog? 00:15:25 Speaker 1: Here you go. Yeah, I don't know. I saw him today. You're dog twenty two back there, it is, give you a pet. Although he's a pro athlete, I'll still I'll still give you his You. You were on the Pet McAfee show today, by the way, Maria, I was you and Drew when he was interviewing seeing Punk. You two walk behind? All right, who's next? Zaye? All right, go ahead, Zaye. 00:15:58 Speaker 6: It sounds like you all right, have a good time and saying we're on the way back home from the game going to Bardstown, and y'all had said you hadn't heard the saw the first half. Sorry, I just want to say Colin Chandler had a really good first half, and. 00:16:13 Speaker 1: I need did he get two or three threes in a row there at the end of the half, because we were following the score and it was like down to three and then all of a sudden it was nine, So he had at least two, right. 00:16:24 Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure yes? And can I can? 00:16:26 Speaker 7: I have also something real quick? 00:16:28 Speaker 8: All right? 00:16:29 Speaker 6: So I'm in the car with my dad right now, and since it was a late game, I'm trying to convince him to let me sleep in a little bit and skip schools. 00:16:36 Speaker 8: Can you help me out with that real quick? 00:16:39 Speaker 1: Have you all right? Here's my question though, Have you been in school this like in the last ten days? 00:16:46 Speaker 6: That well, we've had a lot of nt I and snow days really so I don't know. 00:16:51 Speaker 1: So the answers you haven't been in school right, well. 00:16:56 Speaker 6: Were we were there too for the past two days. 00:17:00 Speaker 1: Past two days, I would say, uh, Dad, since he's staying up and he's having fun, and we won the game and it's Super Bowl week, let him go in half day right, still counts as a full attendance. Sleep late. But then I'm gonna have to balance it by saying, zay, and you have to go to the second half of the day. 00:17:20 Speaker 2: Okay, thank you. 00:17:20 Speaker 9: I appreciate that, appreciate it. 00:17:23 Speaker 1: There we go. I feel like that's a fair in the middle. I can't complain about getting to sleep in. Did Gonzaga lose to Portland? Looks like Gonzaga lost to Portland. That's a huge upset. Portland plays in a high school gym. That no, Mario, that was a high school game. That was not Gonzaga. You thought that was Gonzaga. What they just showed on Sports Center, it was that was Grany footage from like a high school in Wyoming. That was not Gonzaga's not play Portland. My goodness, you remember you were supposed to take a great bus to sport to see Kentucky playport I was excited, But the amount of time it would take against Portland, it was like eighteen days. One way. It's way too many stops. One person says Matt. They sang your Oway song in the arena for at least a couple minutes. That is That makes me They did the away, away, way away. I appreciate that. I wish they had caught on more during his career. Billy. 00:18:20 Speaker 4: Yeah, well it's not over, so maybe there's still time for the fan base to fully embrace it. 00:18:25 Speaker 1: But liked it. 00:18:27 Speaker 4: He continues to play well against Oklahoma. 00:18:29 Speaker 1: That's three games against Oklahoma where he's been excellent. 00:18:34 Speaker 9: School. 00:18:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that that. 00:18:36 Speaker 3: There's no doubt he and Garrison there's an extra level of motivation that they hit and uh, you know, they're on schedule in the regular season. Maybe we'll get him in Nashville, get another ride with that group. Tennessee Saturday, night, feeling good about it. I do, you know already having one in the bank makes you feel a little better, But I really have The Vandy thing's just so weird to me. I guess I'm just gonna say, you know, the weather was and got bad early. 00:19:02 Speaker 1: Seven of eight, That's what I'm saying. 00:19:04 Speaker 3: If you can just ignore the twenty five point loss in Nashville, they have really found something and playing really well and making winning plays in the end to finish the job. So yeah, I am feeling good going into Saturday. 00:19:13 Speaker 1: People are extending names, wondering if Mario knows who these folks are. He's not gonna know any of these. But do you know who Mike Greenberg is? Yes? 00:19:22 Speaker 5: Yes, he's a basketball announcer. 00:19:25 Speaker 1: That's Seth Greenberg. Greenee. 00:19:31 Speaker 4: You don't know Greenee? 00:19:32 Speaker 1: I know Greeney. We interviewed his former radio co host today on the podcast You took pictures of it, and you took pictures of him, and we talked about they hosted the show, Mike and Mike. Oh is this h Do you remember the name of the person that we interviewed today? Yeah? I interviewed a lot of people today, But did you got his first name Mike, Mike. 00:19:57 Speaker 5: No, it's not really a go lick Mike, go like, Okay, Yeah, I didn't know him before y'all interviewed, and that's I don't. 00:20:03 Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go. Who's next, David Louisville, Go ahead, Dave? All right, nod go ahead, Dave. 00:20:20 Speaker 7: Oh, how y'all done? 00:20:22 Speaker 1: Any time? Dave? Go ahead? 00:20:26 Speaker 7: I'm I think I'm here. 00:20:29 Speaker 1: You are here? Yes, all right? I appreciate the call. 00:20:35 Speaker 4: I can't. 00:20:35 Speaker 1: I can't. I can't. I feel like Dave doesn't know how to work the phone, and there's not I'm not gonna be able to do that. I'm not gonna be able to fix that. It's a great day. We can't end with stuff like that. All right, go ahead? Who's next? Chase? Go ahead? Chase. Hey, guys, hey, Chase, are you? 00:20:54 Speaker 10: I'm just good. It's been such a great week and a half of basketball here. Also, I saw my sister hit a game winning shot in the district game as well in overtime. 00:21:09 Speaker 9: Why do we have. 00:21:12 Speaker 10: Why do we have to do the rest of the year. Why can't we just put Oklahoma on the jersey of the other team. 00:21:19 Speaker 1: It's not a bad idea, it's not a bad idea. Congrats to your sister on hitting the game winning shot, by the way, Chase, Chase, why do you think Why do you think? I mean, I appreciate the call first of it. Part of the reason they play so much better is Oklahoma's not good, so that helps. But why else do you think they've been I mean, it can't be a coincidence awaiting Garrison. Two guys with ties to the state always been good all year, but Garrison especially. It has to be something about the uniform. Yeah. 00:21:46 Speaker 3: Oh wait, last year he had his old teammates and his old roommate over there. I think most of those guys have gone on, so I don't know if it's still the same for him. But Garrison, he grew up in Oklahoma, and I don't know if maybe turning that school down, maybe he gets hatred from their fans, I don't know, but it is personal with him in that school. We even knew going into that game because he also when he was Oklahoma State before transferring here, he lost on I think at least one, maybe two buzzer beaters to Oklahoma, So we even had this animosity with them before he even got to Lexington and we're just seeing it play out every time he plays them in the Kentucky. 00:22:20 Speaker 1: Form when person rights Matt, why do you think we're shooting the ball so much better from three forty six percent tonight and they've been better in most of these games. I think a big part of it, Billy, is shot selection. And then the biggest part is Colin Chandler, because you went from a guy who wouldn't shoot them, Well, he wasn't making them earlier in the year, then he wouldn't shoot them, and now you're adding a guy who's pretty much buckets when he's open, and he's taking more. He hit four tonight. I think that's really it. And then I think better shot selection from Oway and Aberdeen, who are taking threes, but they're taking better ones, so they're making them. 00:22:57 Speaker 4: Yeah, quality over quantity here. I mean they only made like six in the game versus Arkansas, right, So you know that thirty five thirty mark that Pope has talked about so much, it's just not gonna happen with this team. But if they can get good shots like that, then they can be affected. 00:23:11 Speaker 1: Yellovich, I mean Yellovich, is he hit a couple tonight as well? I mean, he's a really good shooter, so when he takes them, uh, you know, I think I think that helps a lot too. Who's next? Jd Up? Go ahead, Jadub Hey Man, how are you doing? 00:23:29 Speaker 11: Man? 00:23:30 Speaker 1: We're obviously doing well. We're having a good time. 00:23:33 Speaker 11: Yes, sir, I was agreeing with you about Yellovich. Yellovich is a great stretch forward. He works right into Mark Pope's offense, and when he spread the floor the way that they do, you gotta have a stretch forward just like him. 00:23:50 Speaker 1: If there's one thing that is one hundred percent clear to me after this season, Mark Pope should never again recruit a four that can't I mean, I think I think you're exactly right. Even if Yellovitch doesn't shoot, the thread of that is massive for this team. 00:24:09 Speaker 11: Right, and Brandon Garrison home, that's a huge game he had. I did not see that coming out. I thought Oway was gonna be the MVP. There's no doubt that it's Brandon Garrison in the double double. 00:24:24 Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I agree. I appreciate the call. They may just not want to put Garrison on live radio. That may be the worry, but you know, you never know which big is gonna play well. I mean the fewest minutes for any of the bigs tonight was Moreno only had eleven minutes. All the other bigs played played more. That's every game, it's somebody different. 00:24:40 Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe it was Yellovich's most minutes of SEC play. He didn't get quite some double figures, but it hit a couple threes here lately has been starting but then st done been getting many minutes as the game has gone on. But I'm glad he got a full run tonight. 00:24:53 Speaker 1: Also, not only six turnovers. That's a big deal as well. One person Right's mad? Have you guys seen way Mos since you've been out there a lot? Everywhere everywhere? The future is here, at least in San Francisco. I have. We saw a couple when we were in Phoenix last year, but it was like a couple. They are everywhere here and they it freaks me out and I don't like it. And they I saw him racing each other. It's it's weird. It's they're freaky, but they really are everywhere. They scare you. They scare in the car. There are people in the car in the back seat, Oh yeah, handling there. 00:25:30 Speaker 3: Sometimes they are just driving by with no. 00:25:32 Speaker 5: Knowing in there to pick somebody up. Yeah, yeah, freaky, it is. It is what is Kentucky? 00:25:38 Speaker 4: They were kind of yeah, not only that, but then we walked past a long line of people trying to get into some AI conference, and I mean, it's just, you know, I didn't. 00:25:46 Speaker 1: Even think about that that billion O. 00:25:48 Speaker 3: There's a vending machine here that's basically like a Walgreens but into view machine. That's That's the thing about San Francisco. There's stuff here that we'll see in like five years. At a normal parts of a lot. 00:25:56 Speaker 1: There was people like waiting a block on the street to get into a building, and I went and asked two groups of people what they were going to and they were just like the future, man, the future, it's AI but on steroids. And I was like, I don't want to go in there. It's the future, but I do wonder if it is kind of the future here, like like with the cars and the AI, it does feel like you've almost walked five years into the future here. 00:26:25 Speaker 4: So are we gonna get in one of these weamos before I feel like we should. I think we need to do. 00:26:28 Speaker 1: I'm definitely WEMO and at some point. 00:26:30 Speaker 5: We might as well. 00:26:31 Speaker 1: I don't know. I man to let y'all do that. I don't like it. 00:26:34 Speaker 5: We got at least try. 00:26:35 Speaker 4: These hills are kicking my ass right now. So if we could get in a waymo. 00:26:39 Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, we'll take one. Who's next, Cadence, Go ahead, Cadence. 00:26:49 Speaker 2: Hey, guys, I got three things for you tonight. Number one, the Brandon Garrison performance was incredible. It is almost like when bam ade Bio in twenty seventeen went to Missouri and had twenty two points and fifteen rebounds. 00:27:05 Speaker 1: Wood. All right, what's your second? 00:27:07 Speaker 2: One second point? Colin Chandler. He is not getting enough props for that performance tonight. He came into game tonight, he had a step back three that was probably thirty two feet from the rim. I was an absolute beautiful shot, beautiful. He had eight. 00:27:26 Speaker 1: Well, his threes at the end of the first half were huge. I mean that was a that was a three point game, and we went into halftime with the eleven point lead, and he is the He's the big reason why. And then what's your last point? 00:27:37 Speaker 4: That's when I was yelling bang at the Yeah, you're yelling. 00:27:40 Speaker 1: In front of the president of U s Dang Bang. All right, who's the third one. 00:27:49 Speaker 2: The last one, Denzel Aberdeen. He came out in the first half, first couple of minutes of the game, and he had a huge He had two huge threes, and also Yeli Yelli had two humongous threes also in the beginning of the game. They both had six of our first thirteenth or they had twelve of our first thirteen points. And then it had a Hue Mungket impact to that first half. 00:28:11 Speaker 1: Great kept him from getting that early deficit that we've had in a lot of games. I appreciate the call. Aberdeen has been an unsung significantly better player. I mean he was. He was hard to watch a lot of the first half of the year, and then he you know, without Jalen Lowe, he's had to play point guard his I think that's actually oddly helped him take fewer bad shots because he's having to actually run the team, and I think he's done really well. 00:28:38 Speaker 3: Yeah, he would, uh, I mean it was a lot of the offense when they would get stagnant, the ball would stick, they'd just play one on one and it wasn't working with him. But now that the offense has flown a little better. He's getting there and he's finishing at the rim. He's also shooting a lot better from three. I think you might have had one airball a week or two ago. But the three point shooting that was bouncing off the side of the backboard, landing of the crowd, and all that from the beginning of the year. That that's in the past, and he's shooting at a good clip in sec play. 00:29:04 Speaker 1: By the way, Mark Pope did his postgame press conference in a in a Toboggoeah. I was just zoomed in on that. 00:29:09 Speaker 3: Is it a Brown Kentucky winner? 00:29:11 Speaker 1: It sort of looks like I have to tell you, Mark, this picture of Mark Pope and is that Jason hard It looks like Mark Pope? First of all, it looks like eminem and schigar Yleen. 00:29:26 Speaker 3: Why did you wear it though? It's like cock to the side. 00:29:30 Speaker 1: Doesn't it look I'm going to that out? They can't leave. 00:29:40 Speaker 4: I think he left earlier. 00:29:41 Speaker 3: Right here, we don't pick up his daughter for her I guess her fifteen month mission and she was landing. 00:29:46 Speaker 1: Oh that's excuse me, I totally get. But why did he need to wear the wrist. But that's that's very cool. He wanted to be there to pick it up at the airport. All right, we'll take a break. A twenty two twenty seven. This is the Local Toilet Dealers k is our postgame show, Local Tony Dealers KSR postgame show A fem nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven four five two five four One person's right, Matt, no offense. I enjoy your post game shows when you're by yourself, but I do think it's fun hearing you guys have fun as a group. Yeah, that's why we sure, that's why we decided to do it. Hopefully we'll do it Saturday night, although part of it's going to be about timing because we've got something that evening late. But hopefully we will hopefully be celebrating to win against Tennessee. 00:30:38 Speaker 3: Definitely, it's fun celebrating this one. And I like the the road shows like this especially. You know, it's random stuff, like just being in Billy's hotel room here talking about a game. 00:30:47 Speaker 1: One person writes, Matt Waymo and AI may seem innovative, but it's nothing compared to Billy's reversible quarter zips and digital business cards. 00:30:55 Speaker 4: Well, it's time for the Johnny Rocker Personal Injury Attorney moneymaker of the game. Injured get small town compassion with big city results when you call the Rocker at two seven oh three two one four four two nine. While it was a beg legacy game tonight, according to Mario, it was our moneymaker of the game is Tom Hart. He was phenomenal tonight. I want to thank him for the references. But not only that. I mean he worked in like you don't believe everything you see on Facebook. Uh, he was hitting a lot of the references. So Tom Hart as our Johnny Rocker money maker of the game. 00:31:27 Speaker 1: They haven't put our cover zero up yet. Email been check on that too. 00:31:32 Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, because. 00:31:34 Speaker 1: We have we have. 00:31:35 Speaker 3: We were plugged into that right there, recording, right, I hope. 00:31:39 Speaker 1: So yeah, it doesn't look like it's uh it's up yet eight five nine, twenty two eighty seven. Who's up next? Eddie? 00:31:48 Speaker 12: Go ahead, Eddie, Hey, gentlemen, Eddie and California. Welcome to the Hotel California. When I listen to you guys on the post game shows, you always talk about being one in the morning I'm thinking it's only ten. It's only ten, So now you know how I feel. 00:32:03 Speaker 7: It's so good? 00:32:06 Speaker 1: Well, thank you. 00:32:07 Speaker 12: I do have a I do have a question. I've been hearing a lot about seven seeds, eight seeds in the bracket. I got a chance to go to the Western Tennessee game at reup. Any chance based on what you're hearing about the seven eight seats that Kentucky could be out in a Western regional during March madness. 00:32:28 Speaker 1: I think when you get to that level of seed, it's actually very random where you end up. It depends. It depends on the process of just you know what other teams are your seed line, so it would be a complete gus. You know, you can kind of sometimes predict where they're going to end up when they are a one, a two, or even a three, but when you get down to a six, seven, eight, nine, it's just a complete guess. So like, there are eight different locations for the NCAA Tournament first round, and honestly, Kentucky could be any of the eight and it'll probably be just sort of luck of the committee as to which one we get. 00:33:08 Speaker 12: Did Billy did the Stretton with sudden. 00:33:11 Speaker 1: Yea I appreciate it. 00:33:13 Speaker 4: Yeah, I got the hat. I did not bring it with me, but you better believe the next remote that we go to all to have. 00:33:23 Speaker 1: That you should you with shutting hat. You did get it. 00:33:26 Speaker 4: I did get it, And I also went and got that jacket from Yeah, so I'm vintage now definitely. 00:33:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw you in that picture. You Yeah, when you're like I said, when you're a one, two or three, you do kind of control where you play. But after that so it could be anywhere, and we don't know where it'll be. 00:33:44 Speaker 3: I saw before this game tonight, Lean already said if Kentucky wins in a blowout, they'll move up another spot. Do we consider that a blowout? 00:33:52 Speaker 1: So he had us as a seven. Most of the other bracketologies have had US as a six, which is kind of what I think we are right now. But I will say, I mean, we've got a lot of hard games ahead. So I think if you made me predict now the seed we're gonna end up with, I would say seven. But I think if the tournament started today, Billy Wou'd probably be a six. 00:34:12 Speaker 4: That sounds about right. Do you think they can go on a run? I mean, do you think they're capable. 00:34:18 Speaker 1: You mean in the tournament. Yeah, I gotta see the draw. This is a team that I think is very matchup dependent. I mean, I think there are teams out there that are better than us that in a certain scenario, we can beat, and there are teams that we will just struggle. I mean, we will struggle against a team like Alabama, even though Alabama's not great this year. I don't know, Drew, if we could beat at Alabama this year. 00:34:38 Speaker 3: You know, some of these high scoring teams we've already seen. It hard to keep up. But as we said, when I know, and winning seven out of eight, that's no small task. I mean, if we can forget the Gonzagas and some of those games that were just so frustrating, and just pay attention to the last eight. I know one of them was a twenty five point loss, but those wins, those are big time wins, and a lot of guys I think just turned a corner personally, and it's the overall team. 00:35:00 Speaker 1: Better seven and three in conference. Uh. You got you got Tennessee, uh on Saturday, and then you get a week off and then you go to Florida, which is probably the hardest remaining game left on the schedule. Who's up next, Devin, Doug? Go ahead, Doug. 00:35:24 Speaker 9: Hey you guys, Doug, I'll be the first. Yeah, I'm here, I'll be the first contest. Was it a ice ice? Baby? Did you run to a little vanilla out there? 00:35:37 Speaker 1: Yeah? Go ahead? I can't, I can go ahead. 00:35:41 Speaker 9: I'm sorry. Can you not hear me? 00:35:44 Speaker 1: I can hear you? Go ahead? Hey? 00:35:46 Speaker 7: Yeah? 00:35:47 Speaker 1: Yeah? 00:35:47 Speaker 9: So did you guys run too a little vanilla ice? 00:35:49 Speaker 2: Oh? 00:35:49 Speaker 9: There was a little ice ice baby, I'll be the first one in the contest. 00:35:52 Speaker 1: It was not vanilla ice. This was this was actual ice, like not the not the frozen liquid. 00:36:01 Speaker 9: The agency quick two other things. Chandler has started to remind me of reeves first year where cal final at Reeves play, where everything is just going in and it looks so consistent and then the best, the best mentioned Well, let me. 00:36:21 Speaker 1: Just say on that one. Let me just say that one. Slow down, slow down just a little bit. Let me first scoring that scores in the Yes, first year name Colin has been very good. But even Ivan Reeves is set. Even Reeves his first year had some games where he went off. So I don't I wouldn't put him quite in that in that yet, but yeah, I'll tell you what, if he comes back next year, I think you could have him be something like that. 00:36:53 Speaker 9: Yeah, the ramp up is what I'm talking about. And my final point, real quick, is the best Tom Hart came o Knight was the Rosebuds mentioned about one eye opened, where I have done multiple shots with when Drew frank them back in our college days. These guys. 00:37:13 Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Did you do a lot of Rosebud shots? Oh? 00:37:16 Speaker 3: Yeah, big, big Rosebuds fan. I didn't know Tom Hard had worked that in either Tom had a night. 00:37:21 Speaker 1: Tom was on one leg. He was on one a lot of He told me he did, and he also called his shot. He texted me. He texted me like yesterday and said it's gonna be an epic It's gonna be an epic game. And part of what I love is that he listened to this morning show, Like I mean a lot of those references that were from this morning. Yeah, he's awesome. 00:37:42 Speaker 4: Billy, Are you serious? 00:37:44 Speaker 1: What made you decide, by the way, Billy, to reverse the because you were you wore the blue all day and then when we went to the ESPN VIP function. You flipped and went to the gray. 00:37:56 Speaker 4: Well, it was really like, you know, business was over at that point. The blue is for radio row and then it was back. 00:38:04 Speaker 1: So gray is a relaxing color. 00:38:06 Speaker 4: Well, regardless if we just had to flip, you know, it was just kind of a different mood for the rest of the afternoon. 00:38:12 Speaker 3: I thought it was gonna be like a day thing like tomorrow would be gray. So you're flipping, you only have three Well, we still have four more days. 00:38:20 Speaker 4: I got more than quarters zips. I got a vest. You're not ready for. 00:38:29 Speaker 1: That. 00:38:30 Speaker 4: You're not ready for the vest. 00:38:32 Speaker 1: You have a vest. I got a vest. 00:38:35 Speaker 4: It only as like yeah, correct, No, I was kidding, Well, yeah, but I have like other like I have like a button down i'd wear with it. 00:38:43 Speaker 1: But where are you playing on wear? 00:38:45 Speaker 4: I'm not sure. 00:38:47 Speaker 1: On the flight back. 00:38:51 Speaker 4: Chili's yat, I've never seen a vest before. 00:38:56 Speaker 1: Is that for the shack party? 00:38:58 Speaker 4: It could be, I mean Friday at night and we're gonna have to wear something. We're gonna be out of qreter zips by then. 00:39:04 Speaker 1: I hope you're not playing. 00:39:07 Speaker 4: To wear sha. No, we got we got the all black look on Saturday. 00:39:12 Speaker 3: And Mario said he's gonna wear sunglasses to the party and indoors. I'm at the level cool I can't hang with. 00:39:19 Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna look funny when we all walk in. We're gonna we're gonna look like we work there, gonna look like we're gonna look like we're all you're wearing them. 00:39:34 Speaker 4: You want to see the best? 00:39:36 Speaker 13: Yes, please and break when we come back, Billy will break out his best. 00:39:41 Speaker 4: No photos, Mario. 00:39:43 Speaker 1: This is the local. It's our post game welcome back, and he is the local to dealers Cass game show. Anthony Davis got traded a Drew. He will be on the Washington Wizards. 00:40:02 Speaker 3: Now, I guess so we've had a lot of Kentucky connections through Washington has added him to the list. Maybe get a little Georgia Amore Anthony Davis marketing going. 00:40:12 Speaker 1: Yeah, but it does stint because like the Wizards are. 00:40:14 Speaker 3: Not a real tea no, and it just feels like we've seen the peak of Anthony Davis. 00:40:18 Speaker 1: I can't even remember the last time I've seen a Wizard's game, certainly hasn't been since John Wall. It has to be John Wall. I don't think I've seen a wizard's game in years. 00:40:28 Speaker 4: Yeah, Michael Jordan back in the day, Michael, Michael. 00:40:31 Speaker 1: Jordan's did you skip the John Wallaer you weren't interested? 00:40:34 Speaker 4: No, I mean I moved past it. You brought up John, I brought up Michael. 00:40:38 Speaker 1: Yeah, well he was before that. If I'm nine to eight, zho twenty to eighty seven. One person writes, Matt if the tournament, how big a success would this be? If Kentucky made the Sweet sixteen be a pretty successful year? I think, I mean like it depends on what your starting point is. You start to what we thought at the beginning of the year, Drew, then it's not successful. If you thought if you go with what it looked like after we lost by forty to Gonzaga, then it might be successful. 00:41:04 Speaker 3: Now I'm very careful tonight lower the bar. But if you do make the Sweet sixteen, after where they are were in December and the injuries, I can't say that's a good coaching job. I'm still disappointed overall at how it from the expectations you have and the Ferrari comments, and we truly thought this could be a final four runs. I'm not changing expectations what Kentucky should be. But I could also say, given the circumstances, you finished strong well. 00:41:27 Speaker 1: Person rights. My husband always falls asleep during the late postgame shows and it's normally so annoying, but listening to y'all have a good time together has been really enjoyable tonight. Yeah. I know it's different than the other ones, and I appreciate you liking it. Sometimes it's good to be happy. 00:41:43 Speaker 4: I was wondering how we were going to do the post game when we weren't watching the game, but we watched the second half we. 00:41:49 Speaker 3: Did, and you watched a lot of the first half when you weren't supposed to do. 00:41:52 Speaker 1: You watched a lot of the first half while multiple radio hosts were trying to speak to you. 00:41:58 Speaker 4: It's like the one time I should have been Yeah. 00:42:00 Speaker 1: I mean, for somebody who's been so worried, I want you to think about that for a minute. You were so interested in networking that you were willing to look at your bosses and say you were looking for other jobs earlier today, and you spent all of today talking to people, including random people throughout the country that are at radio stations. And then you were in a room full of ESPN executives and you decided to watch your phone instead of talking to me. 00:42:30 Speaker 4: Real smart, Well, I was doing my job at a post scam show to host later, but I had already flipped the quarter zip like I was true. You couldn't just like go back to them. 00:42:41 Speaker 1: You couldn't network because the gray side. 00:42:43 Speaker 4: Was show a new man at that point. 00:42:47 Speaker 13: At the event before talking, that room had the four biggest people at ESPN, all of whom were surrounding our table, and you didn't even look up. 00:43:03 Speaker 4: I was shouting bang because College Taylor was banging threes before the end of the first hats. 00:43:10 Speaker 3: You know the listeners that you know don't missing mine Kentucky. They're very proud of Billy for doing that. There's a lot of people that are Reilly ignoring in the ESPN boss. 00:43:20 Speaker 1: He's true. My man was focused after earlier today saying he was looking for a new job. Essentially, uh, when jobs are staring him in the face? Bang College Jalen, Who's next? All right? Hunter? Go ahead, all right. 00:43:43 Speaker 8: My guess for the Ice encounter is that Billy tried to give his digital business card to him and they wouldn't take it. 00:43:51 Speaker 1: It's a good gas. That's a really good gas. But that wasn't it? I like that? Guess though, go ahead? 00:43:57 Speaker 8: Yeah, so hey, this is a fun game watch a little stressful towards the end. I thought, you know, we're gonna find a way to mess it up and lose that game. But great win. My question is, is at what point do we look at this as like what happened with the Gonzaga and what happened with Louisville, like that's all just like, oh, that's like a different team and this is a different team now. I say that because last year when we lost Arkansas, it completely shifted how we how we thought of the season because after that we got blown out by Ole Miss and then here we win, and it kind of feels like that's a turning point. 00:44:34 Speaker 1: Maybe. I mean, you say, skip over Louisville and Gonzaga, But Vandy was just a week ago, right, So I mean it wasn't it wasn't that long ago. I mean, yes, I appreciate the call. Last year the Arkansas, I don't think our season necessarily changed a lot last year. Their season certainly changed after they beat us, but we remember they came into the rough game last year one and six and on like not make it. We were when we played Arkansas, we were five and three in conference, so it was it wasn't exactly the same desperation. 00:45:09 Speaker 3: And pretty convinced, uh we were gonna blow them out like we had the confidence Arkansas had this year. Cal even said that the desperation was the was the winner on each side. With the current team, I've even through some of these big wins, I still wasn't sold on this team being actually good. At this point, I really believe they've turned a corner, and a lot of it is guys like Chandler finding his confidence alway, getting back to what he is, and Aberdeen settle in and finding his It's no longer I feel like we're just getting lucky here and there, and we pulled off another one. I'm they're becoming a good team now. The resume might be too late to build a seed where you can make a good run, but I feel like they've turned a corner, and I'm a lot more optimistic than I was even a week or two ago. 00:45:51 Speaker 1: I think a lot of it's gonna be. There are a handful of teams I just I don't think this team can be, and we just need to not draw them in either the first or the second round. That's to me the key. A couple of those teams are in the SEC, so we're not gonna draw them. But like, I don't think we could beat Arizona. I don't know that we could beat Michigan, so let's just not draw the But you get a three or four seed Nebraska or Iowa stayed or something, then why not I think we would have a shot. 00:46:22 Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree with Drew. I think they've definitely turned a corner. I just for a while I thought they could not be good without Jaden Quaintons, and I just banked on him, like bringing this team to the Sweet sixteen, or it. 00:46:33 Speaker 1: Was Jalen Lowe. I mean, Jaden Quaintans was. But for me, I didn't think they could be good without Jayleen Lowe. And I will still say, we're gonna know a lot more in four games, because we're gonna be playing some good teams and we'll see what We'll see what it looks like here in in in four games, who's next? Todd? 00:46:53 Speaker 14: Go ahead, Todd, hey man, I gotta say, Brandon, he really surprised me. I mean he had He's not Amari, but he had some bounce pass this tonight that were. 00:47:09 Speaker 15: Pretty good. And I gotta give a shout out to Colin. Also, he played a beautiful game. 00:47:20 Speaker 9: I'm gonna be. 00:47:21 Speaker 15: Real quick, but I love hearing y'all go outtown and go on trips. I mean, y'all are so funny. 00:47:28 Speaker 1: You make me. 00:47:29 Speaker 15: Laugh, and it's I think y'all need to like a little ten dollars raffle to have somebody go out of town with y'all and put it to a charity or something. But to be honest, I mean, tonight it was very fun for me. 00:47:50 Speaker 14: I needed it. 00:47:51 Speaker 15: I need to laugh, and y'all make me have it. 00:47:54 Speaker 1: Well, thank you very much, sir. I appreciate it, and thank you for thank you for saying that I appreciate it. You know, we uh there are. I love going down the road, you know, and I've enjoyed and I enjoyed being with you guys. No offense to right. Well, Ryan enjoys being gone sort of once you get him out of the out of the house. Shannon does not like to go anywhere you guys. Drew has always embraced it and it's been nice you too, have embraced it. Mario, You've had fun. You've been with me everywhere. 00:48:23 Speaker 5: These trips always funny. 00:48:25 Speaker 1: Yeah, and Billy, they've been fun. Wait to add thank you for thank you for thank you for you. Those both were too excitement. Yeah, fun, I've been. 00:48:39 Speaker 4: Yeah, don't get me wrong, I've had a great time. 00:48:41 Speaker 1: We've only been gone twenty four hours, but you still have four more days. 00:48:45 Speaker 4: I got plenty of outfits. 00:48:47 Speaker 1: Who's next. 00:48:47 Speaker 3: I'm excited to do some of the stuff outside of the work. 00:48:51 Speaker 1: Also, we haven't done much. We've been very busy today. Who's next? Justin? Go ahead, justin? 00:49:04 Speaker 7: What's up? 00:49:04 Speaker 1: Guys? 00:49:05 Speaker 7: I got two things for you. So the first thing I just want to say is I love the cover zero podcast. I'm a huge fan and Drew absolutely did say Ki and Williams thank you. The second thing, I gotta defend Billy a little bit tonight. The BG phenomenon has started. There were multiple occasions where the crowd was chanting BG one when he was about to get in a fight in two at the very end, because we wanted him to get twenty points, and I think that's what influenced him to get that last second point. 00:49:46 Speaker 1: Oh see, we had the sound down except for a handful of times when we heard tom so I did not know that. Well I don't think Billy knew that either, but he can take credit for so BG. I appreciate the call. I guess that's let's make it a thing. Well, it's PG time.
