Speaker 1: Uh, you know, I had family in for the holidays, and over the holidays we were I was talking about the Rob Reiner situation with my wife and Indy asked, he was like, what are guys talking about? And I started to explain what had happened, and I just started sobbing in the kitchen like just I couldn't. I couldn't explain it to Indy. And then I was like, you know what, let's let's let's have a Rob Reiner film festival with family. And so we in one day watched four Rob Reiner films and it was the greatest, greatest tribute to this man like that. I mean, besides Spielberg, I cannot think of a more influential director in my life. And maybe z Mechus is huge too, Yeah, but man like, when you look at the run of films, it's it's insane, like. And so we started with Spinal Tap. We watched that. Of course, we didn't get into when Harry met Sally.

00:01:17
Speaker 2: Because he was not happy about it.

00:01:24
Speaker 1: Harry met Sally a romance. You know, he's not there yet, but he's really into horror. So we watched Misery, which is incredible. Uh yeah, you know, there's just that run. I mean, obviously stand by Me is like probably the most influential film in my life. And it was just a beautiful day ended with him and me watching Princess Bride after everyone else had gone to bed. He had already seen Princess Bride, but now he just was dying with laughter and man, just what a you know, like just one an incredible director, and I you know, he's like I also had this realization like of course he started on a sitcom, you know, like there's these syscom Yeah, and like I didn't know that because I never never watched that show. Brilliant, So I can do his movies, yeah, brilliant. But I just think watching his movies, I think his his you know, besides his incredible ability to pick the best material out there, which is just legendary. All the scripts are so good. He is by far the most subtle director in terms of like he's not doing crazy camera angles, are insane lighting or even like incredible sound design the way that like somebody like Spielberg, you kind of always feel their film making choices, you know, like they're they're very bold. Rob render. He lets the acting and the storytelling take precedence and the camera work and everything secondary. It's like a play. Yeah, but when you watch it, he's not only creating the best performances of most everybody who ever works with him, that's always like the best performance of their career. He's supporting them in such subtle ways and like the best example is Kathy Bates in Misery, which is just such an astounding The whole movie is two people in a room like and yet from moment to moment you are on the edge of your seat. And I've seen this movie a million times. Every time you don't know how she's going to be from scene to scene, and weigh the do you watch the way that he uses the camera and the sound design to very subtly tell you how to feel about her, like whether she's like in a good you know, she's a hero saving him as a nurse. And then like suddenly, the camera's frame just a little lower, and as she's talking, it's pushing in towards her, and you feel this tension building. You're like, oh God, why am I uncomfortable? I don't know if I could trust this woman? And then she suddenly screaming. It's so well made and it's all in the service of his actors. And I think that's you know, because he was an actor first and he only he thinks of story as acting first. And then of course with stand By Me, like just it's the greatest child acting performances ever caught on film. And he he got that by rehearsing with them for weeks, by casting them correctly, by making them all feel confident and comfortable, and you know, it's just the legendary, legendary.

00:04:09
Speaker 3: I would I would put one more film in there for for child acting performances, and that would be et. If you go back and you watch the child acting performances in e T they're pretty.

00:04:18
Speaker 1: Oh, it's amazing. But as an ensemble, as an ensemble, it's hard to beats Standby Yeah.

00:04:24
Speaker 3: No, it's well, well, I mean that's the thing is it's every genre he tried. He made like the quintessential version of the genre.

00:04:30
Speaker 1: He defined the genre.

00:04:31
Speaker 3: Yes, it's like, how do you you don't get a better rom comm than when Harry Meets Out.

00:04:34
Speaker 4: You don't get a better documentary any.

00:04:36
Speaker 1: But maybe any hap, maybe any hall documentary.

00:04:39
Speaker 4: It's documentary, spinal tap, I mean, romance, courtroom, drama that's at all psychological thriller.

00:04:47
Speaker 3: I mean, you picked a genre and you gave him a movie, and he would define the genre. It's when you really read, because when he did pass and you go back and you're like, oh man, god, that's the saddest, most horrible thing. And then you actually read in a row what you did, You're like, this can't be one person.

00:05:04
Speaker 4: Like this can't be one person. He did all these It's amazing.

00:05:07
Speaker 3: And he was a phenomenal sitcom actor on a groundbreaking television show.

00:05:12
Speaker 1: Me and Beloved. I mean also just as a person.

00:05:14
Speaker 4: Everybody, I mean, Carl Reiner was was another one.

00:05:17
Speaker 3: You go back and you watch like Dead Men Don't or Plaid and the stuff that he did with with Steve Martin.

00:05:21
Speaker 2: I mean, the Reiners were just it.

00:05:23
Speaker 4: Was working on another level. Just working on another level was really amazing.

00:05:26
Speaker 3: But yeah, we talked to Alex Daniel and I talked to Alex at Yabava, who was like, don't get me started.

00:05:32
Speaker 4: I just wanted when Harry met.

00:05:34
Speaker 5: Sali made it more clear. At all I wanted was to watch when Harry met Sally and then when the decisions were made, and I heard that the fourth movie, and the thing was not going to be When Harry Mett Sally I went to bed.

00:05:48
Speaker 3: There's more lines from when Harry mitts Sally that Sue and I still quote to this day that are all just.

00:05:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's perfect. I mean when we were teenagers, I must I pretty much exclusively watched his movies, like that's all we did, like as a group of friends, and that's all we quoted were his movies. That's mind boggling. You can all come down to like one director. And granted a lot of that is the age. You know, we were the right age for the sure when his movies were coming out, But there's something to it.

00:06:12
Speaker 4: Man.

00:06:12
Speaker 1: He was just he was so good.

00:06:15
Speaker 3: It would have been like it would have been like ten years earlier with all of the Breakfast Club.

00:06:21
Speaker 1: And I was around the same time. I guess.

00:06:24
Speaker 4: I mean, it's time me.

00:06:25
Speaker 1: It was eighty six.

00:06:26
Speaker 4: That was it, eighty six, So yeah, I'm talking about John Hughes. John Hughes, So I guess. But I guess if you were a little older, you were more of.

00:06:34
Speaker 2: The Hughes fan.

00:06:35
Speaker 3: I think because it was like you had weird science and all these kind of movies coming out vacation. He's another one John Hughes that you look back at his list of things and you're like, my god, he's never been never been in like vacation and and you know club, Oh god, these are defining for me.

00:06:50
Speaker 1: I uh, I'd love to get into it with you at some point. There's something there's something a little mean about John Hughes films. For me, I've always felt like, as much as they try to be inclusive, like the Breakfast Club is supposed to be about these misfits, I don't know, man, it always feels a little cynical. And I don't know.

00:07:08
Speaker 3: A captured high school I mean captured high school. Well, I'm sure that's the way it was in high school that you know. He kind of picked up on that. And that's especially high school in the eighties when there was a ton of bullying and racism and a lot of it misogyny. I mean, that's what it was like in the eighties. I mean, it was just it was so it was kind of that snapshot in time. Whereas that's the thing about Rhiner was you put a movie in the fifties, he'll take that perfect snapshot in time. You put a movie in the eighties. He'll make that perfect snapshot in time, put it in a fantasy world. I mean, he just it was well, you.

00:07:37
Speaker 1: Know, it's different than Hughes two because he wasn't writing the material. I'm sure he was very involved, but you know, he had less of a voice as like as a writer. You know, he was much more of a director like you know, and an actor's director, and so his his ability to bring different types of stories to life and such time commit and just you know, like you said, define the genre.

00:07:56
Speaker 5: Yeah, crazy craziness, unbelievable director man, rest in peace, an absolute tragedy. Well, welcome to Bud meets World.

00:08:06
Speaker 4: I'm Danielle Fischal, I'm Rider Strong, and I'm Wilfredell.

00:08:21
Speaker 5: Today we are recapping season seven episode for No such Thing as a sure Thing. It originally aired October fifteenth, nineteen ninety nine.

00:08:30
Speaker 1: The Sure Thing also a rougher in film Ye Ye the synopsis.

00:08:35
Speaker 5: With the help of her mother, Japanga decides if Corey is a sure bet, while Jack gets Eric in over his head with a bookie. It was directed by Jeff McCracken. It was written by Gary H. Miller and Before I Jump into our guest stars. Shall we share our overall thoughts?

00:08:53
Speaker 1: I was just on a confused on this. I had a weird episode. Yes, I just felt like I just didn't know what world we were in. And then when I was like, oh, is this the episode were according to pengare going to get back together? This feels really weird.

00:09:08
Speaker 3: I just saw this exact same storyline with Trina, the same exact one. Then you guys are kissing the entire time, which is disgustingly off putting. Eric is now an Italian bike rider. None of this made sense.

00:09:24
Speaker 5: Also, it was a hard guys, a cheerleader, and now we're cheerleaders.

00:09:28
Speaker 4: None of this made sense. This was a bad episode of television.

00:09:31
Speaker 1: This was and a little little little a salty too. Oh my god, you're like her dress? That was so weird.

00:09:42
Speaker 4: I was like, this is a bad episode.

00:09:45
Speaker 1: Those moments were very charring. But yeah, man, I was. It was okay, all right, and it didn't.

00:09:50
Speaker 5: It also didn't sucked.

00:09:51
Speaker 4: It wasn't. Yeah, I agree, it sucks and it did not.

00:09:54
Speaker 3: The bits, the quote unquote funny bits did not outweigh the suckiness of this episode.

00:09:59
Speaker 2: This was this is just a bad episode of television.

00:10:02
Speaker 5: Bad just bad. Agree, So let's get.

00:10:04
Speaker 1: The integration of Tapanga's parents felt like sudden and like, what what are they doing here? And why are we with that?

00:10:09
Speaker 3: I don't again, we literally just saw the same storyline, parents coming to tell you this, you're not us, You've got to be with it.

00:10:15
Speaker 4: We just saw this. I don't know, so yeah, this is this was bad for me.

00:10:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, I just wonder why they decided to bring everybody back together within a matter of four episodes, Like you break everybody up, you do that for the sake of having storylines that take advantage of the fact that like Corey and t Pango aren't together an angel.

00:10:34
Speaker 3: What because we didn't we thought at this point we only had thirteen and we.

00:10:40
Speaker 4: Do the wedding in or within thirteen episodes.

00:10:43
Speaker 1: That's absolutely right, because yeah, it does. Doesn't make sense to me. It's like you you go through this dramatic first episode to like break them up into like and then you don't take advantage of it, like you just bring us back together within four It's like, what, yeah, okay, that makes sense.

00:10:58
Speaker 5: Also, now remembering that you guys that Angela breaks up with you at the end of the season again. Yeah, you guys just got back together. I know, all right, I can't. I don't know where the season's going. I don't know what's gonna happen.

00:11:13
Speaker 4: I don't know what I will say. Now do they like either?

00:11:17
Speaker 3: Because they didn't expect to have to add another nine episodes, so nobody knows where that's going at this point.

00:11:23
Speaker 5: Guest starring Marsha Cross returns is the Newest Rhann and Lawrence. The Talented Mark Harrolik also returns as Jedediah Lawrence and Grant Garrison as Jerry. He appeared on TV shows like Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, jag Monk and The Good Guys, and movies like Arlington Road and The Island, and appears to still be acting, showing up on The Chosen back in twenty twenty three, and then Sasha Barisi appears as Janina. This guest star role was in the same year. The former model virtually debuted in the blockbuster comedy American Pie. She also was in TV shows like Just Shoot Me, MTV's Undressed and Supernatural, and movies like Legally Blonde and the Great remake from Matt Reeves Let Me In. But she is best known as Tracy the wife in all three Hangover movies, and despite acting a ton for quite a while, Hangover three was her last Hollywood credit because she appears to be focused on playing poker professionally. All right, jumping into our recap, how He's starting the student union, Sean and Angela are yelling at each other, surrounded by a huge crowd, drowned out by a loud marching band. Sean is spilling his heart out. If he was only gonna be alive for one minute, he'd spend it looking in her eyes. Angela yells right back. If he was only gonna be alive for one minute, she'd stell him to stop looking and stot kissing. And then they begin to make out, and the inmates and no guardoxt stop and the inmates ooh and ah as we zoom out to reveal the chaos around them. It's a pepper and Rachel is standing on a nearby table in her cheerleading uniform. She is shouting into a megaphone, hyping up the crowd. Jack and Eric flank her, both wearing male cheerleading uniforms. So just the three of you are on the cheerleading squad.

00:13:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, obviously. Okay, that's been a huge part of for five years.

00:13:23
Speaker 5: What's program?

00:13:25
Speaker 2: Is that?

00:13:25
Speaker 3: What it is?

00:13:26
Speaker 4: Well? Just get going? Okay ready, okay, god, what did I mean?

00:13:32
Speaker 1: Like where did this episode come from? Like somebody pitched a like football player betting storyline. They were like, yeah, that works, and then we'll make that with the one recording to beg to get back together.

00:13:43
Speaker 4: It's yeah, that's the Bee story.

00:13:45
Speaker 3: The idea that Jack, this perfect guy has a gambling problem pretty funny, Like you.

00:13:50
Speaker 4: Could do that anything with that, and then they did this with it. So yeah, I don't.

00:13:55
Speaker 3: I mean, like, that's a funny Bee story to get Jack China bet.

00:13:59
Speaker 4: But why are we all cheerleaders?

00:14:01
Speaker 5: Why? I don't know why am I looking up her skirt?

00:14:04
Speaker 4: It's just it's all and you're just making off for Twitter.

00:14:08
Speaker 2: It's a very strange episode.

00:14:10
Speaker 5: Yeah, not not faves either. Students in school colors wave their pom poms as Rachel asks who are we going to beat? The crowd yells back the Amish. When she asks the crowd who's going to lead them to victory? They all scream. In unison, Jerry Mungo a football uniform Jock raises his hands in victory and the school mascot penge. The penguin does a backflip off a trampoline and the students go nuts high five in one another.

00:14:36
Speaker 1: I'm understanding, like this is where I was like the.

00:14:38
Speaker 5: Amish or is another school? Is a school there actually Amish people?

00:14:45
Speaker 3: They're supposed to be Amish people. I think there was a several Amish jokes in this first.

00:14:49
Speaker 1: Thing, I know, but I was just like I thought for a minute, like may was another school. His team was called the Amish. That's what I want to reveal, that the guy actually is Amish with his beard, right, I think? Then I'm like, is.

00:15:00
Speaker 5: This this kind of offensive?

00:15:02
Speaker 4: Is not too They're never going to see it. They're on me, so you know, they.

00:15:07
Speaker 1: Could be on their rum spring and they could see it.

00:15:09
Speaker 4: They could see it then, yes, but yeah, no, that's what it was.

00:15:12
Speaker 3: That was the joke was that they're Amish, right?

00:15:17
Speaker 1: Funny, yes, so hysterical.

00:15:21
Speaker 5: I love it now. Meanwhile, Tafanga's outside quietly studying Sean and Angela walk over and ask to sit with her. She begins to say, as long as you don't, and they completely ignore her Angela takes a seat on Sean's lap and they start to make out. Topanga rolls her eyes in annoyance that inside, Jack and Eric are performing a stunt holding up a cheerleader by the bottom of her sneakers. Eric sneaks a peek under the girl's skirt. Jack gives him a disapproving look, and Eric snaps back to reality. They let the girl down, and as she walks away, Eric calls out, see you, panty, I mean, Patty.

00:15:59
Speaker 4: We also are act holding her up there.

00:16:01
Speaker 3: I know, I mean, that's not It's a dangerous thing to be a cheerleader.

00:16:04
Speaker 4: I don't even remember, like being the it's called the base, basing right on the base. That's yeah, holding and.

00:16:09
Speaker 5: Then you guys lower her down like right, Yeah, I know that was I did think that was well done. Jack accuses Eric of wanting to look up Paddy's skirt more than he wants to beat the Amish. Eric shrugs, I've got nothing against the Amish. They're a decent, hardworking agrarian people. Okay. Jack reminds him they've kicked their butts forty seven years in a row, but Eric waves that off as a little streak what are the chances they're going to do that again? Jack reveals that Vegas has them as a fourteen point favorite. Eric can't believe it, you, mister clean cut a gambling man. Jack shrugs him off, but Eric gets serious. Do you have a problem that needs my help? Jack insists he doesn't, so Eric just immediately believes him and gives his friend a big hug. A satisfied Eric sees Pengy the Penguin sitting at a nearby booth taking a break. The mascot takes the penguin head off for a breath of fresh air, and Eric notices something. Oh look, he's amish, and then it clicks hey. He runs after the man at full speed into escape. Pengy does a backflip off the little trampoline, which Eric tries to copy. This really made me laugh. This was a funny as can be, but instead he just frustratingly jumps backward, allowing the amish penguin to get away. Fun Okay, we found our first lafe.

00:17:23
Speaker 2: We found a laugh.

00:17:25
Speaker 5: There's a laugh there. Back outside, Angela and Seawn are still making out when Corey appears. He alerts to Panga, Oh look, how the formerly separated, now behave I want to be like them? She asks, you want to make out until we realize we hate each other someday. Corey reminds her we hate each other now, so your little plan doesn't work, does it? Kiss me with tongue and he sticks his tongue out yeah to Penga physically turns around appropriately repulsed, and Corey smirks.

00:17:53
Speaker 1: Oh.

00:17:54
Speaker 5: She thinks that's going to stop me. That's not going to stop me. He lunges towards her and Art's kissing the side of her face, so she shoves him onto the floor in response. It is not played for comedy, No, it plays like a fight, and the inmates give a little bit of a concerned Banka quickly jumps up to check on him, and she apologizes, Thank God, didn't mean to hurt you, but Corey shakes his head. That's it. I've had it with you.

00:18:33
Speaker 1: So ridiculous. The whole thing is kiss you.

00:18:39
Speaker 4: And then you dared to knock me off of you. I'm done. It's like, wait, what do you did you remember this at all? Zero? Yeah?

00:18:51
Speaker 1: I know I remember nothing about this episode. I mean I can tell why because I'm just like I had no. It was like literally, like you.

00:18:57
Speaker 4: Remember one part.

00:18:58
Speaker 3: I'll bet you remembered one part because of our show. It's me in the Jacquelina Jacquelina.

00:19:03
Speaker 4: No, that's all I remember too.

00:19:05
Speaker 1: From filming it. I know because I'm I was so out of it this week. I know what happened. It was like, Oh, I'm just making out with Trina and like you know, And It's what's so weird is to think about like how I just didn't care, like you know, it's like we're just making a Like now, I would be like, can we do something else? Can we find a way to make this more interesting? But the time I was so like disassociated with my own body that I would just be like, yeah, sure, And I'm sure training felt the same way.

00:19:29
Speaker 2: Let's do the thing we always do. Yeah weird.

00:19:32
Speaker 5: I mean, I, like I said before we started this season, or even maybe early on in the podcast, like I remember feeling generally. I guess the best word to describe it is over the Corey into Panga relationship. I was over it. I did not know how to articulate what it was about it. It wasn't just we've been doing it for seven seasons. It wasn't that. It was a disgust. I had a discuss about the relationship and about the storylines pertaining to the relationship. And now that i'm you know, have watched them all in succession, I would, as an actor on a show that was doing this now be able to articulate why this is. This is wrong, This is wrong, this is this isn't how this should be going. This is inappropriate, this is uncomfortable.

00:20:21
Speaker 3: I'm going to knock them off and then apologize for knocking them off?

00:20:25
Speaker 4: Are you kidding?

00:20:26
Speaker 6: So?

00:20:27
Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I did. I did. I did remember having that feeling, but I didn't know how. I didn't know what it was. I didn't know what to put my finger on as to like what it was about it.

00:20:37
Speaker 4: You guys were both checked out too by this point, you were both.

00:20:40
Speaker 1: But these last two episodes are just about you know, wearing down withholding women. Yeah, yeah, that's all about, is wearing down withholding women until they give in. That's the entire arc of these last two.

00:20:51
Speaker 3: Not only that, but also just letting having everybody else come to them to let them know what they're feeling.

00:20:56
Speaker 1: Exactly right right, Yeah, what they're saying and expressing is wrong.

00:21:02
Speaker 5: Yeah, convincing them they're wrong and that they should make the decision you want them to make, yes, and everyone's.

00:21:07
Speaker 1: Bettering them and their parents know better than them.

00:21:10
Speaker 5: Unable to read the room, Eric comes running back now with the Pengy the Penguin suit in hand. He tells them that the penguin was an Amish infiltrator, and he had Penbrook's playbook and his breeches how to get it out. He doesn't want to talk about it. The point is they'll need a new mascot. Corey, seconds after being thrown to the floor by the love of his life, offers to do it. To Penga says he can't, he'll hurt himself, but Corey argues, I couldn't be hurt any more than you've hurt me already. The crowd again is hurt by his emotions. As Corey passes Angela and Sean still making out how you doing, He reminds to Penga, she broke his heart and he's given her every opportunity to get back together. But now, as he puts on the ridiculous penguin head, he has to keep his dignity. He asks Eric how he looks and Eric grins you the bird. Corey shakes his penguin head back and forth, asking you hear that to Tanga I the bird and this bird is moving on. This bird is flying solo. Eric announces to the crowd of students inside, Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the pride of Penbrook, Pengy, the Penbrook Penguin. Corey dances into the building, flaunting his stuff and to Penga watches on with concern.

00:22:19
Speaker 1: To Penga Pengy Penguin, it's a lot.

00:22:22
Speaker 5: Of it's a lot of angoration, personal assault.

00:22:28
Speaker 1: All goes together and we're.

00:22:31
Speaker 5: In the Matthews kitchen. Everyone appears to be aggressively eating dinner at the Matthews House tonight. A real friend for yourself, vibe angry dinner.

00:22:40
Speaker 1: Everybody's eating a lot.

00:22:42
Speaker 5: And shopping and cutting in seven seasons?

00:22:46
Speaker 1: Is this the first dinner at the table we've ever seen?

00:22:51
Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, we know we've.

00:22:54
Speaker 1: We've had coffee, we were bowls of.

00:22:58
Speaker 3: It was dinner with the second episode with the squirre Guns dinner when he finds it under under the table.

00:23:03
Speaker 1: Oh my god, of course, okay, cool, right, right, this is unusual. I was like, we don't do this. We have a kitchen table, we have a dining room table. We never use it.

00:23:11
Speaker 5: The episode with the girl who gives them the socks she joins them for I think she's there for also, t K is there for dinner?

00:23:22
Speaker 1: Is she? Oh? Yeah, thank you very Miss Matthew.

00:23:25
Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, so she's there for dinner too. So we have a few dinners. But is this the first time matt Lawrence has met Matthews. They make it seem like no, but yes, I'm not sure I've ever seen as they.

00:23:42
Speaker 3: Always like to have Jack over for angry dinner. They do every week in the Matthew's house. It's angry dinner night. First of all, just saying what to kill you to use real potatoes is like, man, that's harsh.

00:23:56
Speaker 4: But secondly, who doesn't use real potatoes?

00:24:00
Speaker 5: Well, now a lot of people, but you know them? Have you? Have you not had the microwaves mashed potatoes that's already made?

00:24:07
Speaker 4: I think? But there's real potatoes, the potatoes.

00:24:12
Speaker 5: Who doesn't do that?

00:24:13
Speaker 1: I think there's still real potatoes to just behydrated to add water to them, right.

00:24:17
Speaker 5: So what is a not real potato? Maybe he who knows what he meant. That whole conversation though, was weird too, where she's like, I don't want to know about you gambling, and they'm like, that's why I do it.

00:24:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I just felt like I was on drugs watching this not the good You're not sure what's happening? And is it me? I thought it was me. I thought I was like too tired or something was wrong. Now hearing hearing it red back, I'm like, no, none of this actually does.

00:24:44
Speaker 4: None of it makes sense. So Alan's also a gambler, uh huh. And he does it because it pisses his wife off.

00:24:51
Speaker 5: Yes, Also he's a very bad gambler because he continues to bet on the home to yeah seven years just you're not.

00:25:05
Speaker 3: By the way, your kids didn't go there at the time, so you had no allegiance to.

00:25:08
Speaker 5: No allegiance exactly, no reason. Well, Corey isn't eating, he's beaming. I'm going to be the penguin. Alan ignores his son instead, asking is what he heard is true? Jerry Mungo isn't playing on Saturday. That means they'll have no chance to win. Unmoved, Corey repeats himself I'm going to be the penguin. Eric explains that Jerry's grades might not be good enough to play, and Morgan heard he's even dumber than Eric, but Eric denies that instantly that Alan needs Jerry Mungo to play. He's tired of losing money betting against the Amish, and the bread stop betting against Theish. Corey continues to try and get attention by announcing he's the penguin, but now even Amy doesn't care. She comments, I really don't like your gambling. He responds with that's why I.

00:26:05
Speaker 4: Do it, and then she apologizes for it.

00:26:09
Speaker 5: Corey continues his own conversation, now noting that Tapega doesn't think he can be the penguin. Well that's fine, they're not getting married anymore. Amy tells the boys.

00:26:19
Speaker 1: Does think and not think he can be the penguin? Does she say that?

00:26:22
Speaker 5: She said, don't because you'll get hurt.

00:26:23
Speaker 4: You'll get hurt.

00:26:24
Speaker 1: Okay, okay, yeah.

00:26:26
Speaker 5: I hope none of you start gambling, she says. Jack asks why, because it could ruin your life, blow every relationship you ever had, cause mom and stepdad to almost sell their house in the Hamptons. I like this backstory.

00:26:37
Speaker 4: Yes, this is fun.

00:26:39
Speaker 5: Know more about this.

00:26:41
Speaker 4: Yes, you could have done a lot more of it with this.

00:26:44
Speaker 5: Mid June, Allan asks Amy if it would kill her to use real potatoes, and Morgan bluntly tells Jack, I heard you have a problem again. Also, I would like to know more. Where did she hear that? It's just completely blown over? Jack gasp and tries his best attempt at whoa, and still Cory is ranting to Penga just doesn't believe in love anymore, And now Alan's interested. He suggests it's time for Corey to move on with his life. Corey agrees, I'm the penguin.

00:27:15
Speaker 4: That's a scene this entire episode.

00:27:18
Speaker 1: I think writer's right. Drugs fever dream I. I just can't believe that you're in a run through. We didn't like have that. No, this is just we need to Yeah.

00:27:29
Speaker 5: Sean and Angela are busy making out in a public setting once again.

00:27:32
Speaker 4: This is where they were kissing.

00:27:34
Speaker 5: Uh huh at this part they're kissing well. Jerry Mungo mindlessly tosses a football in the air. A passing Phoene snatches it from him. Study mister Mungo star running back or not? You fail my test, you don't play, Jerry admits, when this college paid me to come here, they didn't say nothing about no tests. Phoene's had enough with his double negatives. He hands him back the football and demands he open a book. As Phoene leaves, he walks past Angela and Sean's makeout sash.

00:27:59
Speaker 2: How you doing Okay?

00:28:01
Speaker 3: I googled Mungo okay because I thought that was the name of the character from Blazing Saddles. But the first thing that pops up is a rock band from the seventies called Mungo.

00:28:14
Speaker 5: Jerry Jerry Mungo. There you go, okay, So now we know where they got it.

00:28:19
Speaker 3: Somebody is a British rock band from the nineteen seventies. So somebody was a fan of Mungo Jerry Yeah, and named the character after that.

00:28:29
Speaker 1: Or do you think they even knew it? It was like deep in their subconscious and they were like, Oh, let's go with the Mungo. It'sken off of Yeah, it's okay. I have a question, and I really can't remember. Didn't we do this storyline in high school? Wasn't there an episode about a football player needing to be tutors.

00:28:49
Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, yeah, yeah right Eric.

00:28:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, Eric helps tutor a foot tutor, a football player who gets to win. Yeah.

00:28:59
Speaker 4: I was watching this, like didn't we do this?

00:29:01
Speaker 1: And then we also did the gambling thing with Corey and Sean in first few season.

00:29:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, and we also did them getting back together because of their parents the episode before.

00:29:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a weird It's like it's like an AI generator, like a bad AI generated Boy meets World episode. You just take like other episodes, they're like, spit one out, shove it in, shove.

00:29:20
Speaker 2: It in there.

00:29:22
Speaker 5: That's funny. You're right, we did do that. Yeah.

00:29:24
Speaker 1: I kept being liked, Am I remembering this episode? Or is there? But we did? We had an episode in high school?

00:29:29
Speaker 4: High school? Y, yes, and it's Eric tutoring him.

00:29:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so weird.

00:29:33
Speaker 5: Nearby, Jack and Eric find Rachel. Eric colorfully commends her on a great pep rally, and she admits it was mostly to light a fire under Jerry's lazy butt. Rachel knows if he doesn't pass Phoene's exam, they have no chance at winning the game. Jack uncomfortably reacts, well, you know, it's a sporting event. Oddly shaped ball, inside information, inside information. He frantically excuses himself and begins to walk away, but Eric follows closely behind him, pointing out that his roommate is shaking. Jack bites his nails, convincing himself, but there's no such thing as a sure thing. That's the first step to accepting that you have a problem. Hello, my name's Jack. Eric robotically responds Hello. Back on the couch. Rachel has taken it upon herself to help Jerry study. She quizzes him on what African nation abolished apartheide in nineteen eighty six, and he answers Florida. Eric is impressed. Well, that's one right. Jerry asks Rachel why she keeps asking him all these history questions, and she says, furiously, because that's your major. She hits him with the textbook, calling him the dumb dumb, dumbest person alive.

00:30:35
Speaker 3: That's a funny bit too. I thought Maitland was good in this episode. Frankly, with nothing to do, right.

00:30:40
Speaker 5: Yeah, Jack is wide eyed as he realizes there's no way this goavoons passes mister Feeney's test. He walks away on a mission as Eric agrees, Yeah, without him, I don't think we're going to have a player. Now you're going on that word gavoon, gavoon's gavoons. I've never heard that is neither. I know no idea.

00:30:58
Speaker 3: It might be like a made up battalion kind of like whatever that kind of stuff is.

00:31:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, we use that.

00:31:07
Speaker 5: N Z G A V O O zs oh.

00:31:13
Speaker 4: It's a band from the seventies.

00:31:16
Speaker 1: I got nothing, nothing's coming on.

00:31:20
Speaker 4: Don't you remember it wasn't there an episode where Eric says that, like this, givo make up words.

00:31:26
Speaker 1: Gavone is a popular Italian American slang term, derived from the Italian word cafone, used to describe someone who is a glutton, greedy, ill manner, or eats like a pig, especially in a teasing way, referencing messy or excessive eating, especially a family gathering. So I guess it's a gavone, Okay, gavoonsavoonsavon, that's a I guess it's a take on gavone. Okay.

00:31:52
Speaker 5: Uh So Jack walks away and Eric says, yeah, without him, I don't think we're going to have a prayer. And now you're gone, Where did you go? Jack's on the page, danny Jack Connor, so that's his stepdad's.

00:32:06
Speaker 1: I thought he said Jack Hunter just weirdly, I didn't hear it.

00:32:12
Speaker 4: I tuned up by this point. I think I was watching it.

00:32:14
Speaker 1: I thought he said Connor too for a second that I was like, oh, no, I guess he just said Jack Counter so quickly that's.

00:32:19
Speaker 5: I think he says Jack Connor, and that's what the chiron says.

00:32:22
Speaker 4: Oh, it says it says Connor. So it's either either that or.

00:32:26
Speaker 3: It's the fake name he uses with his bookie, which is also the possibility of what it is.

00:32:32
Speaker 2: It's like he's he's got a fake con possibly.

00:32:36
Speaker 5: I don't know. I mean I would I I definitely Jack Conter.

00:32:40
Speaker 1: It's Jack Counter.

00:32:41
Speaker 2: No, you're right.

00:32:42
Speaker 1: You were here and you hear the tea Jack Connor.

00:32:45
Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know it was. I was like, wait what I thought?

00:32:49
Speaker 1: I just heard it wrong.

00:32:49
Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, we want to place a little bed on the penbroke game. Jack laughs, Yeah, I'm on the thirteenth step relapse. He puts a dime on the Amish, but Eric quickly tries to intercept. The two go back and forth with the phone until Eric finally gets a hold of it. Instead of canceling Jack's wager, though, he just asks the bookie to put another dime on the amish for himself and then hangs up. Eric boasts, I don't know what I'm doing. He just put me down for a dime. Baby. Jack wonders if he knows what a dime is, and Eric nods he knows the lingo it's fourteen fifty. Jack reveals that a dime is one thousand dollars and Eric is surprised.

00:33:25
Speaker 4: Wow.

00:33:26
Speaker 5: Then he laughs hysterically before fainting from shock. Later on, in the student union, Corey is dressed as the penguin, sounds the mask while a pretty girl holds onto one of his flippers. He asks, you really thought I was good? She gushes, you were the best penguin ever.

00:33:41
Speaker 1: And back to the tradition of just girls is they're rowing themselves at Cory. It's really crazy, Yeah, it's really crazy.

00:33:50
Speaker 5: It's like she can smell that he's single now and he's dressed as a penguin and he's apparently not good at it, and she is willing to just lie through her teeth about how great he is because she so badly wants to hook up with him. Yeah, He wonders about when he fell into the marching band's tubas, but she thinks that was the best part. Sean and Angela are still making out, so Corey butts in Tapega would have thought it was wrong for me to fall into the tubas. Sean points out that they're a little busy, and Corey apologizes, then tells them they're doing a great job to Pega enters and sees Corey with this mystery girl just She asks Corey if after the game he'd like to see her dorm room like a real snow bunny, but Corey doesn't catch hidden meaning. He wonders, don't all dorm rooms look the same. Sean, who is apparently listening in while tonguing his girlfriend, kicks his friend. It finally clicks for Corey, but he's still hesitant.

00:34:49
Speaker 3: He reminds, you to me all the time, I'm throwing it back at you. I don't ever want to hear you say, tonguing his girlfriend.

00:34:56
Speaker 5: Ever again, no promises, we got multiple scenes left exactly. You never know what's in here. He reminds the girl that they hardly know each other, but she emphasizes that's why you're coming to my room to Penga looks devastated from watching all the horniness. And then we go to a commercial break, and then we're in the student union with Cory gone to Pega takes a seat next to Sean and Angela, who, yes, are still making it out.

00:35:25
Speaker 1: It was nauseating, point truly starting handle hand chapstick to one another.

00:35:32
Speaker 3: It's just like, god, I know, watching it was disgusting, and it was just like, can we please get I was literally turning.

00:35:41
Speaker 1: Don't you say you know what? We wrote this as a thing, but obviously it's just weird to watch, so let's let's rewrite it. Let's find another way to get this point across. But instead they just kept so cross.

00:35:53
Speaker 4: It was gross.

00:35:54
Speaker 5: In an episode where maybe you guys were in your dorm room and and we kept having to go somebody kept popping their head in there, and all every time you guys were still just making out. So we get the funny bead of like, wow, it's been four hours and those two are still making out. But to have you present in every scene, in the background of every scene, to the side of every scene, to have people trying to talk to you, you engaging in dialogue while also still making out is just right.

00:36:21
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:36:21
Speaker 5: Chris Tapega explains Corey can do whatever he wants, and Angela responds he is. Tapega continues, if she's what he wants, then let him have her. Angela finally comes up for Aaron explains, you're what he wants, and he's what you want. Angela asks Sean for five minutes and promises to make it up to him. He nods, okay, I haven't had water in four days. Angela moves next to Topanga. Everyone you know has tried to help you. Corey went to Pittsburgh to try to get your parents back together. What do you want from him? Are you happy like this? To Panga size, I've never been so unhappy in my life. Angela admits she thought she was protecting Sean by pushing him away, but she was only hurting them both. Now that they're back together, she's happier than ever, but she does need some chapstick to Panga hands hers to Angela. She has no use for it now. Angela quickly applies it. Then she hands it to Sean and he hands her a water bottle. They finish hydrating and applying mentholate them and then go right back to making. Then a horn sounds and Eric rides in on a racing bike, wearing a full lance armstrong outfit. And why I don't why to show that you're already spending the money you think you're gonna win, but like.

00:37:28
Speaker 6: But why not come in and throw a three piece suit thank you? Or playing a video game on a new thing. I've got to come in as an Italian bike rider?

00:37:37
Speaker 1: What an Italian thing going on? This whole episode? Yes, which is like.

00:37:41
Speaker 4: What it was after a while.

00:37:43
Speaker 3: It was as nauseating to me as watching you make out with Drina the whole time, where it's like, really the Italian accent again?

00:37:49
Speaker 5: Ugh, he yells to Jack and an attempt at an Italian accent. Oh, chow bella, I ride bike, I hunk.

00:37:54
Speaker 2: Of the horn.

00:37:55
Speaker 5: Jack starts to panic Eric this is a five thousand dollars bike, which he just knows because he all he's very into biking.

00:38:01
Speaker 4: Of course, into biking, Rick gambling only.

00:38:03
Speaker 5: Going to win one thousand dollars. Eric replies, that's not right, my little Jacaelina. I'm sorry, my English is no so good. How do you say, Jack, hits his helmet and Eric cuts the bit. I called Danny and I placed a new bet. We're down for five large. Jack's freaking out. He called Danny. Eric reminds him, you said it was a sure thing. Jack is livid. There's no such thing as a sure thing. I learned that in rehab. Eric brings back the Italian accent. Then why I got the expensive bike and the two hundred dollars panties with the cushions in the buttocks? Deal is nice. Jack is obviously stressed, but it's gonna be okay. As long as Jerry doesn't play, they're in the clear. Eric is sure he's going to play, but Jack is not so sure. What if Phoene goes soft and lets him play. Eric tells him that's never gonna happen. He's known Feene for what fifty seven years now, He wouldn't do that, But then the confidence wanes. What if he does? Jack cringes, Then we lose and we can't pay the bookie. Eric hopes he'd understand that, but Jack says, oh, he'll understand that. He'll understand that. While he's looking and our thumbs in a jar. Eric is stunned. That this man has a thumb jar that seems odd.

00:39:06
Speaker 4: A funny bit but beat at the end.

00:39:09
Speaker 3: But yeah, the whole I just now I'm an Italian bike rider. It is just it really is, Let's see what we can put will in this whole season, put you in an outfit, and we're just gonna let you go. And at first it was kind of funny, and now I'm going like, oh God, where does this go?

00:39:27
Speaker 2: Culminatesirrels?

00:39:28
Speaker 1: I don't yeah, I mean, yeah, I don't know.

00:39:31
Speaker 4: I think. I mean.

00:39:33
Speaker 1: That it doesn't bother me honestly, Like you being funny and having weird asides and being ridiculous is like right, but point to it.

00:39:41
Speaker 3: I mean I agree, But like the point where with Tapango was like you know, I'm hiding to seek attacked to Panga, like there's a reason.

00:39:48
Speaker 1: There's a character basis now I'm just.

00:39:50
Speaker 4: An Italian bike rider, right.

00:39:53
Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I guess, I guess the idea. I don't know why you had to be Italian. I don't get that far, but like I said, they did want to show that you had become addicted to gambling.

00:40:04
Speaker 4: And there's such better ways to do it, and you're.

00:40:06
Speaker 5: Spending too much money on things, and I you know, I don't know.

00:40:10
Speaker 1: I mean, well, you know, we've talked a little bit. I feel like in the in the past about the difference between like saying like having something be funny versus saying something in a funny voice or you know what I mean. And I feel like in this case it actually doesn't make sense, like there's no motivation. So it's just literally like an Italian accident that'll be funny, and it is.

00:40:31
Speaker 5: It's a little.

00:40:34
Speaker 1: Pointless, like yeah, yeah, Well.

00:40:37
Speaker 5: Then we're in Phoene's classroom. Eric comes riding his bike into the classroom, honking the horn. Phoene size ah the tour to idiot. Eric begins to do his Italian accent. Hi, I am from the Italy, but Phoene promptly tells him to shut up.

00:40:49
Speaker 3: I was like, thank god, thank god. He was like, I can't hear this accent anymore.

00:40:53
Speaker 5: Eric gets serious, Jerry Mungo, I think you should pass him and let him play, no matter how stupid he is. Phoene explains, I'm going to make this so simple that even you can understand it. Eric takes off his sunglasses and challenges his teacher you can try. Phoene says, because Jerry Mungo can score touchdowns, he's been given a free ride through this university. I detest that. Eric asks, so let me get this straight. If Jerry doesn't pass his test, there's no way you're gonna let him play. Phoene nods. Eric lets out a happy little giggle, hiding it to ask what's passing? Phoene quips, Oh, that's right, you wouldn't know sixty five. Eric asks, what about a sixty four, an eighty, a twenty? Phoene answers every time until he can't take it anymore. Are you kidding me? Eric understands, but asks again about twenty. Eric can't believe that Phoene cares more about morals and ethics than he does about football, but Phoene's not budging. They go back and forth, yelling fine to each other, until Phoene tells him he doesn't want to play anymore. Eric gets the last laugh by saying fine, thus winning the game. Hemaniacally laughs and bikes out of the room. We see Jack was waiting for him in the hallway. Eric excitedly reveals that he did it. It's in the bag. No way Mungo is gonna play. He outsmarted and it felt so good. Jack congratulates him, but Eric doesn't want to leave. He insists that he needs to go back into the classroom and pull another one over on Phoene, but Jack begs him not to do it. Eric honks his horn as he re enters, and Phoene looks less than pleased. To seal the deal, Eric tells him, just remember one thing when Jerry Mungo fails his test, and that Amish horse drawn buggy charges across our football field and victory, crushing the hearts of every student here at this university. You hold your head up high, Phoene, because you held to your ethics. Good for you. He backs away and lets out a few more insane giggles before one again pedaling out, but this time Phoene ponders Eric's words a bit more than before. Okay, really sealed the deal on that scene, Like, we get what's going to happen now for sure?

00:42:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, this was and again this was them. I got what they were doing.

00:42:51
Speaker 3: They wanted to get Eric and Phoenie together mm hm, and so they would manufacture reasons to do that. And it was again I always loved working with Bill, so I didn't have a problem with it. But a lot of times you're just kind of like, okay, yeah, just riding the bike around the school.

00:43:17
Speaker 5: And then we're in the girls apartment. Rhiannon and Jedediah Lawrence exit the elevator together and Jedediah makes a beeline for Topanga's apartment. Rhiannon's hesitant about whatever they're doing. There's absolutely no reason to tell her this now. He argues that she's going to find out eventually, so it's best for her to find out from him, but Rhiannon reminds him that this is between Corey and Tapanga, not between Tapanga and him. Jedediah emphasizes that the only reason there's an issue with Corey and Tapanga is because of him. He wants to help what Rhannon insists she's not ready for this. You tell her you left me for someone else, she'll hate you. Jedediah shakes his head, No, she won't. I'm her father. She loves me, And with that, he rings the doorbell. It's been a while, so welcome back. The opt to go.

00:44:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, we have a doorbell that never existed. By the way, this last episode, Remember I was knocking on the door, knocking, knock and knocking, knock, knocking, knock, knock, knocking, k knocking.

00:44:10
Speaker 5: Tapega tells her dad to get out. She's crying and he's begging her to give him a chance, but she won't listen. She hugs her mom while her dad leaves, telling his daughter he loves her and is sorry for what he did.

00:44:20
Speaker 1: Okay, So he was thinking, if I admit to Topanga that I there are.

00:44:26
Speaker 5: Two different things, they're two different thoughts. One, she's gonna find out I have a girlfriend and left you for another woman. Anyway, I want to be the person to tell her I understand two. If not for our divorce, Corey and Tapanga wouldn't be having any problems. So I also want to smooth. I also want to tell her to get back together with Corey to.

00:44:45
Speaker 1: Different but like, like why does the fact because her feelings are wrong but they're still divorcing, and and if she assumed that like the so so the idea is that because he left her for another woman and didn't just divorce her for what I guess any other reason that that was in it will convince to Pega that it's okay to stay.

00:45:06
Speaker 5: With Corey, right because that would never happen to them.

00:45:11
Speaker 1: I don't like they're still divorcing. And yeah, and so it's not saying you and Corey like I just don't understand. It's like you and Corey are going to work like I just like you're still divorcing. The logic doesn't make any sense to me that, like, because I left your mom for another woman, it has no reflection on my love for her, So therefore your love for Corey should still be good.

00:45:36
Speaker 3: Right right, Yeah, yeah, it's the last episode, it was the dad saying to Angela, you're not your mom. Your mom left, You're not going to do that because you're in love, right And in this one because I told you so, because I told you so, And in this one it's it's really has nothing to do with your mom.

00:45:56
Speaker 4: It's all about me. So Corey might still she need.

00:46:00
Speaker 5: It's the same idea. Yea, I wasn't in love with your mom anymore, and so as long and that's what it is, because that's then what Tapega says. Love is real and we have to do everything we can to keep it alive. So in this situation, the situation with her parents. Their love died, he found love with someone else, and so as long as Corey and Topanga don't let their love die, they'll never get a divorce.

00:46:27
Speaker 1: But that still might happen, Like, I don't understand why it's a different argument. How does it change anything that he left her for another woman? That doesn't change anything as far as the logic, which I put in air quotes because it makes.

00:46:39
Speaker 5: It no unless you're saying to someone, as long as you learn from my mistakes and don't fall out of love.

00:46:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, The only way this would have worked is if Tapanga thought the relationship was breaking up because of her mother, right, And then it's the father who comes and is like, it's not her fault, it's.

00:46:56
Speaker 2: At my fault.

00:46:57
Speaker 1: Right. That's a good point, right if she like, oh, I'm going to be like my mom who would break up married, right, And it turns out to be the dad, and then it's Corey going, but I'm not your dad, I'm not gonna hurt so yes, So.

00:47:13
Speaker 5: Why did why would Topanga think it was her mom?

00:47:15
Speaker 6: Like?

00:47:15
Speaker 5: Why like, why would she well.

00:47:18
Speaker 1: Why does she assume that because her parents broke up, she can't be in a relationship anyway, the correlation makes no sense, but.

00:47:23
Speaker 2: The now none of us made it.

00:47:27
Speaker 4: But I was Italian, I said, not little Ja.

00:47:32
Speaker 5: Once he's gone, Topega tells her mom she's so sorry and asks if she knew. Rhannon nods, I knew, he was just so happy all the time, and there's a small laugh there from the inmates. Topega asks why she didn't tell her and Rihanna and explains that it wasn't important to Pega decides she doesn't like her dad anymore, and Rhiannon admits neither do I, except I do, and so do you. Topinka insists I hate him, but her mom said, no, you don't. You can never hate him, and I would never want you to to. Pega doesn't understand how she can be so rational about this. And I love Jeff McCracken, but I did not like the blocking of this, just going back and forth and back and forth. And I know, I know that they didn't want two people just sitting in one location having a conversation, but I so much would have preferred two people sitting in one location having a conversation. Then Tapega just aimlessly bouncing back and forth, pacing just pacing is just not good.

00:48:28
Speaker 3: And I know we've said this before, but pointing it out again, Marsha Cross is a rock star.

00:48:32
Speaker 4: She's so good, really really good, so good.

00:48:37
Speaker 5: Rhiannon says that after you cut his face out of every family photo, smash everything he owns, and cry hysterically over it for three months, you eventually get to rational. Tapega responds, well, I'm not rational, and Rhannon agrees. She tells her daughter, whatever happens between your father and me shouldn't affect what happens between you and Corey.

00:48:54
Speaker 1: Well someone said it. Yeah, my god.

00:48:58
Speaker 5: Topenga is shocked that her mom can and even be thinking of her amidst all this chaos. Rhyannon siyhs, well, I may not be a wife anymore, but I'm still your mother. Tapegas shakes her head. I don't ever want Corey and I to hurt each other like you and dad, Rhannon exclaims, to hell with me and dad. This isn't about us anymore. This is about you and Corey and what you and Corey have. It's rare and real and good and true. Topenga admits she's scared. She's scared because of her mom. And how she's always perceived her parents as happy. Rannon insists, we were and now we're not. But I would never trade what I had with your father, even if I knew it wasn't going to last forever. To Penga's shocked to hear that her mom say that. Rhannon asks, are you going to give up Corey because you're afraid of what might happen in the future, or are you going to have the courage to marry him and find out? And then we're back in the student union for another PEP rally. The big game against the Amish is tonight. Corey is dressed up as Pangy, and the mystery girl, who apparently has a penguin fetish, reminds him my room. After the big game, Corey gives her an over the top salute, and response returns to getting the crowd hyped up. Eric and Jack, who are supposed to be participating as cheerleaders, seem very stressed. Eric asks, it's getting a little late. Don't you think Phoene should announced that he's not playing by now? Just then Jack sees the teacher walk in. Here comes mister party pooper. Now Phoene hops onto the stage, and Eric asks everyone to be quiet to hear the announcement. Phoeney acknowledges the rumors and admits, I'm afraid I have some bad news. Jack and Eric exchange excited looks. Then Feeney continues, bad news for the Amish. I give you our starting tailback, Jerry Mungo. Jerry sprints onto the stage holding his helmet, accompanied by Rachel. He hops onto the stage, giving out high fives to the excited crowd. Eric and Jack are horrified. They immediately confront feene Eric wonders, how could he pass? He's dumber than me. How could he pass? Jack asks Feenie, what happened. Phoene points to Eric. He happened. That last thing you said to me in my office got me thinking. Jack growls at Eric, you had to go back in there, and Eric begs to do hate me. Phoene wonders, was I so focused on academia that I forgot about school spirit. The boys try to tell him no, but phoene says, yes, So I took on the ultimate challenge? Could I take somebody actually dumber than you and in only twenty four hours raise him to his highest possible level? Eric wins, and you did. Phoene pulls out the test and hands it to him sixty five baby. Eric and Jack stare at the test in disbelief, and Phoene pats them on the shoulders. Come on, boys, let's go kick some amish butt. Jack breaks the news to Eric you killed us a genius, but Eric tries to sugarcoat it. Jack, Jack, listen to me. Bookies take so many bets, they're probably not even thinking about ours. Jack sarcastically tells him, yeah, you're probably right. Eric smiles, I'm not right at all, am I. And at that moment, two scary men dressed in all black creep up behind them.

00:51:49
Speaker 3: Okay, Eric, I've never ever placed a bet with a booky in my life. But do they normally show up before the game has happened?

00:51:55
Speaker 4: No?

00:51:55
Speaker 1: Okay, no, never just jacking.

00:51:58
Speaker 5: Just one of those bookies Ish Miller, Miller, the one who talks. Eric extends a hand. Hello, two very large men. I don't believe we've had the pleasure. One of them responds, Danny sent us the book. He's had a convention, and you two were voted most likely to lose and run like the wind. Eric whispers to Jack. See they're not here to hurt us. They wanted to give us a plaque. Jack tells him to run and they make a break for it. The goons follow quickly behind. Then we see Tapango walking through the crowd of students. She spots Pegy and taps him on the shoulder. Don't say anything, just hold me. They hug, and Penge slowly starts to move his flipper down to her butt, but then Corey enters the student union. He's not Pegy to Pega sees him and quickly pulls away from the creepy mascot. She looks at the penguin and punches him straight in the face, knocking him to the floor. She asks Cory why he isn't the penguin, and he explains, I fell on the tubus. I tore cartilage doing the igglue dance. You were right, I made a terrible penguin. Nobody knows me better than you, she smiles. Nobody knows me better than you. And now we start this thing that we used to have to do on the show, where we have rapid fire conversation back and forth where no one's listening to each other.

00:53:06
Speaker 4: That's real. That happens in your life all the time.

00:53:10
Speaker 5: Yeah, Corey asks, it doesn't matter though, right. Tapega tells him, you mean everything to me, and he says, because we're never going to be together again. Tapega says, I want to be with you forever. Corey continues, but it's okay, I've accepted it. I'm ready to move on to Pega responds, I love you. I want to be your wife.

00:53:26
Speaker 1: This is funny that this is the bit that because this is what happens on the monkey bars, right or whatever or the playground, So this is the the reunit. Whenever Corey de Banger reunite, they literally talk over one.

00:53:40
Speaker 4: Another and Corey doesn't hear anything she's saying.

00:53:43
Speaker 1: Ever, Now, that's.

00:53:44
Speaker 5: Remarkably like it waits until the moment that Corey is ready to just he when in his final moment of giving up the last possible second to Pega changes it.

00:53:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's still not listening to her.

00:54:00
Speaker 2: Now, my god, that is so healthy.

00:54:04
Speaker 1: Just it's so revealing, Like it's amazing that Amanz.

00:54:08
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:54:09
Speaker 5: Yeah, and I don't think it was intentional, probably.

00:54:13
Speaker 1: No, it's like a bit that somehow got you know. Yeah, it just it's just yeah, it's really revealing.

00:54:22
Speaker 5: Clueless. Corey grabs her hand and says, so, I guess you and I are officially over. Goodbye to Panga. She pushes him down onto the floor and pins him down. He admits this is new amongst the crowd. She lies next to him. If something bad happens to us someday, it could never change what we have now, what we've always had. Because you're right, Cory, love is real and we have to do everything we can to keep it alive. Corey breaks it to her, you really haven't been doing that, dear. She asks, what can I do to make it up to you? He winces you can move your knee. She apologizes and explains, wherever life takes us, I want it to be with you.

00:54:57
Speaker 1: Why do they end up on the ground Because she's so it's just like aggressive female aggressive female dominations sexual.

00:55:05
Speaker 4: I think it's also because he wasn't listening.

00:55:08
Speaker 1: She grabbed him like now I'm gonna Now I've got you, so you're gonna very unmotivated. It just feels like, oh, we just get on.

00:55:13
Speaker 4: I was.

00:55:14
Speaker 5: He said goodbye, and so she needed to pin him down so he didn't leave. Because he wasn't listening to her, so it was literally I have to physically restrain him, and I'm going to do it with you know, my ensorcement.

00:55:27
Speaker 4: It's a sexual tackle.

00:55:28
Speaker 5: Yes, they lean in and kiss each other. Meanwhile, on stage, Rachel tells the crowd that it's time to stick it to the Amish. Everyone runs out the door for the big game, leaving just Angela and Sean and Corey and Tapanga still laying on the floor as band members step over them. Two couples back together again, happily making out in public like absolute perverts. And then we're in the tag.

00:55:49
Speaker 1: We have rooms, we're adults.

00:55:52
Speaker 5: We are adults' rooms.

00:55:53
Speaker 1: High school a high school dance where you have to like make out on a corner. But we're like, just go to your dorm rooms and get it on. Yeah, like Sean and andam what are you doing?

00:56:02
Speaker 5: What are you doing? And then we're in the tag. We're in Amish country. Eric and Jack are disguised as Amish men, riding in a horse and buggy. Jack scolds Eric for groping the women while they churn the butter because.

00:56:14
Speaker 3: We needed Hey, we got thirty five seconds left, let's get another sexual assault joke in there, he got the time.

00:56:20
Speaker 5: Eric frowns, but I love dairy and I think I'm falling hard for Anna Lundyke. I tried to talk to her, but she shunned me. Jack reminds him she hit him with a rake. Eric asks, how long do you think we have to hide out here? Jack shrugs forty fifty years. Everybody should be dead. Eric tries to look at the positives. Maybe it's not such a bad thing. Nobody here knows who I am. It's a fresh start. Maybe if I don't screw up, I can have a good life here. Jack points into the distance. Isn't that the girl you were just talking about? Eric excitedly shouts out Anna lu and Dyke. I wish to make out with thee. A pitchfork is thrown their way and Eric catches it. Wow, she's got quite the arm. But Jack is terrified they're chucking pitchforks. Let's go as the buggy.

00:57:00
Speaker 1: Speaking assaulted a woman, right, I mean that's right, that's the joke.

00:57:04
Speaker 4: Yeah, the joke is and then tried to hit on her again.

00:57:07
Speaker 1: Yeah that's pretty all I mean, yes, it's.

00:57:12
Speaker 4: We did.

00:57:12
Speaker 3: We There was a scene earlier, where Corey grabs the pang and tries to kiss her. She pushes him off and apologizes for pushing him off. This is this is just part of this episode.

00:57:22
Speaker 5: Yeah yeah. As the buggy speeds off into the sunset, Eric shouts out, I thought you were peaceful people. That's our episode.
