Yeah, it's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do this. I'm Jeff Grub I right over on GamesBeat dot com and I do grub snacks here on giant bomb dot com as a contributor, and I bought faster Internet after after last week. Comcast only offers a maximum of thirty five up with its one gigabyte, and you have to gig a bit and you have to like look for that in the fine print. It wasn't easy to see. But but you know, thirty five was faster than the fifteen or whatever I was getting, So I figured, why why not at least the files will get faster to Jason when I when I upload them or whatever. So hopefully we have a better luck with our upload this week. I think we will. I'm feeling you know, actually I've discovered the real problem though, after I spent more money was the Mesh network. I think when I would turn on Netflix down here on one of these TVs, I would see that the frames would start to drop, and I'm like, Okay, that can't be like, because that's affecting my upload, that's a download. Why would that be a problem. I'm like, I'm gonna unplug this mesh network node that is down here. It's one of the Google it's the Google Wi Fi stuff, and I plugged that and ever since then it has been a problem. So if anyone has any pointers, if you tell me that I'm silly for using a mesh network like that, I'll listen to you. I'll hear you out tell me the better, better way of doing Internet. I would love to hear it. All right, So we have we have a lot to go over today. I got a lot of stuff written down here. Nintendo announced a Nintendo director's happening. Oddly, it's happening in the afternoon mountain time that usually you know, almost almost evening, it's happening. It's really odd. They don't normally do it at this hour. I'm trying to figure like that would be pretty early morning in Japan, and that is late in the late at night in Europe. So it's it's a weird one. It's an odd one, but whatever, this is the time that Sony does it. And Sony's very focused on the United States and Europe. So I wonder if there's not a lot of Japan news for Japanese gamers, it's probably what I'm thinking, but that could be completely wrong. I feel like it's wrong. So we're gonna we're gonna go over some stuff about the Nintendo Direct, just like the Sony Showcase. I don't know much of what's in there, and so my predictions will all be wrong, but we could still have fun going over that stuff. I can definitely answer your questions. Uh, there's definitely some stuff I have heard, and it's the things that are very obvious at this point. So I will not take any credit for any of those things, but we'll we'll go over and then uh yeah, there's a few other things. Titan Fall three we can we need to talk about Titan Fall three, uh, and then a few other things. So let's just start with the Nintendo Direct and then we'll get into all the rest of these things. And then, of course, real quick before I do that, if you do want to ask a question, if you're watching live, first of all, I appreciate it. I love it when you got to show up and we can ask questions and talk about video games. If you want to ask me a question live and interact, hit that ask a question button at the top of the page. Uh yeah, and I'll try to get to it as best I can. So let's start with the Nintendo direct. I am expecting. I'm expecting Zeno Blade Chronicles three. I think that's not a surprise. I think we should hear about that. That seems like the kind of thing where they're doing a forty minute direct. They're not trying trying to manage expectations too much. They said they're mostly going to talk about the stuff that's coming this winter for them, that means like the holiday season. But whenever they say that, we know that Nintendo tends to mean we will have a few bigger games at the end. I wouldn't be surprised if, like Zeno, either Zeno Blake Chronicles three is like the big opener or the big closer for Nintendo. And then they do the Smash Brother's character reveal at the end or the beginning as well, probably at the end. Right then you kind of talk like they always like lead into something with a Smash Brother's character afterward, and then like so they set your expectations to there, It's kind of where where I'm at. Where, well, like Zeno Blake Chronicles three will probably the biggest game that's there. Probably I hope that we find out what, like the Mario team is working on. I know there's those rumors of the Donkey Kong game, and maybe it's a two D game, probably a two D game. It could be a three D game, but they're working on that. We'll hear about it soon. I haven't been able to confirm any of that, but I would love to, like, if that's what they're doing, show it. I would prefer a Super Mario Odyssey to just in my brain right now, that's what I'm thinking about. But whatever that team is working on, I would love to see it. I just don't know if now is like this is not like the Sony Showcase where Sony Sony didn't have an E three. Nintendo did have an E three. So it's not like Nintendo's gonna have a ton of extra stuff to show. There will be some, but it's not gonna have be a ton of new new things to announce. I would think I would imagine they still are in that situation. We've talked about this a lot where Nintendo needs to get a couple of games out before it can start making more big promises, and those games obviously Metroid Prime four and Breadth of the Wild two. We got to get past at least one of those before they could start making super big promises about like years into the future. So when we're talking about like more immediate stuff, UH, is gonna play Chronicles three is obvious that is almost certainly coming out next year, and we'll hear about it probably at the showcase. I would then expect probably like it's also probably time for another sort of Nintendo mascot game. They did Yoshi recently, right, so I wouldn't be surprised if we got something along the lines of Kirby. But again, you know, that's the kind of thing that could pop up at a show like this, uh, or they could save it for another time and announce it in a tweet. It's Nintendo. They make weird decisions. The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy that is supposedly coming to Switch, does that show up here? I don't know this rock Star are gonna bring GTA Trilogy. I guess it depends on like what the GTA Trilogy remaster is, right, I know they like poured it all the code to Unreal is the is the news story? And then that game, you know, according to the reporting, is coming out in October this feels like the right time, Like if if you are going to announce the game and you are looking for a showcase, which Rockstart usually isn't looking for a partner to announce this stuff. But if it was a Nintendo direct makes some sense because that's that game's probably going to sell on all the other platforms. If you find a way to get people excited about it on Switch, that's good. I just wish it would have Chinatown Wars in it. That's I like China Town worse that more than I like any of the other Grand Theft autos, honestly, So I wish it had that, but probably not going to have that. And then there is the Nintendo Switch online stuff that's probably going to okay, So game Boy and Nintendo sixty four seemed like a sure thing at this point, but whether or not those come at the same time was still a question. It seems much more likely we're going to get both game Boy and Nintendo sixty four right now because of that f the FCC, the yeah, Federal Communications Commission, right, so, yeah, the FCC filing for that new Nintendo Switch controller. Probably a Nintendo sixty four Droycon weird thing, probably we don't know, but if that's what that is, then we're probably getting Nintendo sixty four alongside of game Boy. I just I also have heard and this has been mentioned in a couple of places. I think Eurogamer said this. I think Nate the Hayda said this. Where there are other systems maybe in the works as well, and I would I would say, like when when people say other systems, be thinking like not Nintendo necessarily there are other options out there that Nintendo could partner with. And this was always weird to me because it seemed like what what would happen with Nintendo Switch Online is Nintendo would put all their stuff in there, get a few third party partnerships. But then if you were a company, like if you were another company, a big company out there, and you had a lot of legacy titles, you would just release them as like collections, right because those tend to sell pretty well on the Switch. It seems like Nintendo maybe trying to make some deals and this might go hand in hand with maybe raising the price or introducing a new tier for Nintendo Switch Online, trying to make this in the switch onlines gaming, you know, subscription side of things more appealing. And that means going beyond just Nintendo consoles, not probably not like Dreamcast, right because we're not even gonna get GameCube anytime soon. But you know, there are other options out there, obviously, Yeah, and then you know, anything else, like you know, Castlevania Advanced Collection seems like almost a certainty. It seems like a certainty right at this point. It's been rated in Taiwan, rated by the ESRB. I think Gamatsu found the icon the game icon for it or whatever. I'm very excited apparently, and then the description says it has you know, all the game Boy Advance metroidvanias, but then it also has Dracula X, which that's pretty cool. That's a good collection right there. I am very excited about this metroid Veania though. Those are like some of my favorite metroid Vania games, some of my favorite Game Boy Advanced games, you know, and that's one of my favorite consoles. So it has a high bar to like come and like make sure that they don't screw it up. And it's Konami, so we'll see. But really, if it's just if they're just straight ports in a relatively decent emulator, it'll be fine. And the game Boy Advance emulation. You know, situation for uh, you know, developers trying to sell commercial sell ROMs commercially. That's in a pretty decent place right now. It'd be pretty hard to mess that up. Still, though, We'll love to wait and see. I'm I'm just excited that these games are gonna get another chance to grow beyond the GBA and the WU, which is the one other place you could play those games, so of course no one really played in there because who had a WEU? And then, like everything else is sort of a Your guest is as good as mine. I I'm hopeful that we'll see some pretty big surprises. I guess if we see whatever the Mario teams working on next, I'll be really happy. I guess if we get like the breadth of the while to name and a new trailer, that'd be cool. But I don't I would expect that now. I'm not expecting that at the Game Awards, but I don't know. I'm I would be happy to be surprised. I just don't think we're gonna get much more news Zelda news anytime soon. But we'll see. And then, of course, if you have questions about this, ask him. We'll get to him soon. Let's let's keep moving on though, and we'll circle back around to Nintendo Direct when I'm sure we have questions here to address that quantum that Quantic Dream Star Wars game is real. Uh, I feel like it's for sure a thing like the reporting on it is is correct. Uh. You know, I was gonna I was saving it for this, and the reporters kept coming out and being like, oh, okay, well by the time we get to Thursday, everyone's gonna know. But what the hell we're here, let's talk about it. They have been working on it for a year and a half and it does seem like it is, uh, not exactly a Quantic Dream game. So Quantic Dream, I guess for people who might be like trying to place that name, that is the studio that does like Detroit Become Human and those PlayStation visual novel games with like the really good graphics, they really realistic graphics anyhow, and the Star Wars game that they're working on is not necessarily like that. It does seem like it will be more of an action adventure game. I would guess that they would are probably going to use some of their technology a lot of their motion capture stuff will probably still feature prominently in the game, and then I would expect still to be very story heavy and very into emphasize choices and stuff like that still, but it's not going to just be an adventure game where you are basically pointing and clicking on that environment and then choosing dialogue options there will be. It will be more direct gameplay than that. I am not necessarily super excited about this. I haven't really loved any Quantic Dream games, but and a Quantic Dream well known but most recently best known for its civil suit in France, where people alleged that it was a pretty tostic environment with racist like characters drawn of other employees, and the company was able to fight those off without necessarily saying that that stuff didn't happen. It seems like they admitted most of that stuff did happen, but the argument was seemed to be it was all in good fun, which hey, I yeah, so I'm not thrilled about a Quantic Dream Star Wars game if the so you know what, so we don't have to necessarily talk about this game specifically. Let's talk about what this means more broadly for Star Wars. We talked about this a lot on the show. I'm a big Star Wars fan. I'm literally wearing a Darth Vader shirt right now. I h there are a lot of Star Wars game games in the works, and I think when you hear a quantic dream, I'm I'm like struggling to say that word quantic dream Star Wars game. To me, that says we are going to get back to a point where there are a lot of Star Wars games coming out from a lot of different studios, and they're all going to be relatively different. There's gonna be a lot of variety. I think they are trying to go back to like that golden era of the early two thousands where there was just a ton of Star Wars games coming out. I think they want to get back to that and they are on that path. They are. I know that the discussions are happening all the time with tons of developers. They are very interested in making a lot of Star Wars games. So if that's like to me, that's the ideal situation where we're gonna get a lot and not all of them are going to be good, but maybe a lot of them will be interesting. At the very least, and that is to me, that's exciting because I you know, I like some weird, old, not great Star Wars games. You know, the Django fet game Bounty Hunter. I like that one. It's one that like, it's cool to go back to still, and it's not necessarily a game that was praised at the time. It's just one of those things like if you did play it at the time and you go back, you think about like a weird Star Wars universe, like a corner of the Star Wars universe at a game explored. It's cool that that exists. I want to get back to that point. I think a good a good point of comparison here is the Warhammer series and Warhammer forty k, where it just seems like there are five or six of those games coming out all the time, and hopefully the quality is a little bit better than what Warhammer's had. There are some good Warhammer games, but you want the consistent consistency be a little bit better than that. But I think generally the Warhammer ip has the right idea kind of just let anyone with a good pitch go for it and see what happens, because well, like what is the worst that could happen. A bad Star Wars games has comes out. We've we've lived through worse, We've like experienced that before. We'll be fine. Let a bad Star Wars game come out if it means there will be some interesting stuff. I think that this is very This quantic dream story is very indicative that that is exactly what is happening. All right, let's talk about titan Fall three. Titan Fall three is not happening. Let's just I always make it as clear as possible. They're not really working on titan Fall three. Now, there was some confusion about this because the titan Fall three names showed up in that in video league we talked about last week. I think I said then and I'll just reiterate titan Fall three when it was in a database, When that name showed up in databases like that, that was a reference to Apex Legends before Apex Legends came out. I think that was reported elsewhere. That is one hundred percent what that name was. It was never a real titan Fall three. It was always Apex Legends and then so but that's still you see titan Fall three. People are like, hey, there's a league with a bunch of stuff that we think is real. Titan Fall three is in there, so is that happening? And they go to respund Entertainment Community developer I think I think that's his title, something like that, Jason Garza, and they said, hey, any comment on Titan Fall three, and he was like you could tell that he was a little sick at answering this question. I don't I don't blame them, but the meat of the statement was, don't get your hopes up. Nothing is in the works. There's nothing there. We have too many other games. And that is exactly the case. That is exactly what is happening at RESPUN. They have too many other projects in the works. So there is Apex Legends, which will continue to be a live service game that they focus a lot of effort on Jedi Fall in Order two, which is I think confirmed obviously that is that is still happening. There is a secret project that for some reason I cannot get in any like, I just can't find out what it is. I have no idea what it is. It's really on lockdown. But yeah, so there's a secret project. There's at least one secret project. But I think there's multiple projects, and none of those are titan Fall three almost not my water over, titan Fall three is not in production in the same way that all those other things are. If there is a titan Fall three, it's on paper, it's in someone's brain, it's an artist maybe doing conceptual work on the side. It is not in active, active development in the way some of these other projects are. Now you know, the reason this is a story is because this was a story yesterday where this Jason Garza said this stuff and places we're writing up the story saying hey, we're probably not gonna get titan fourth three ever, and then Respawn decided to respond to that was saying, hey, despite despite some of the reporting, titan Fall is core to our DNA at Respawn, And first of all, I didn't read a single story that was like, titan Fall not core to responds DNA, that was not the story. It's just so weird when these companies have to like build a straw man to argue against to counter the pr war that they're in or whatever, and then they're like, who knows what can happen in the future, Well, they would know, Respawn would know if they were working on a titan Fall three. They're not They're not working on the Moon right now. I think the suggestion is it's not dead forever. It's not dead forever one percent. They definitely have in their hearts they know titan Fall was is beloved, but they also know it's niche and they're taking out their swings right now, and if they have to go back to it, it is an option. It's kind of where that's at. So I'm just not gonna get my hopes up for it anytime soon. And even if it's like were to come back, you know it's gonna like it be so far removed. Gaming will have changed, the studio will have changed. Response in a situation where they can kind of do whatever they want, and they're doing they're not doing titan Fall. So is that if they don't want to be working on it right now, then then you know, then don't work on it. I get it, and I'll just have to continue going back to play titan Fall two over and over again. One of the best games ever made. All Right, a couple other things, Like I said, there was a lot this week that I wanted to talk about. Let's touch on real quick. Uh, Okay, someone sent me a question. They can't they can't watch live they confirm their Giant B member. So I was like, yeah, yeah, I ask your question. It was just Golden Sun. And I think Golden Sun continues to be in this situation where it's not there's I don't think there's any real good chance it comes back. I hope, I hope that we go into direct today and it's just like Golden Sun four or whatever, and it just makes me look like the biggest silly goof in the world. I would love that. I think that there's a very little chance that that's happening right now. You know, Golden Sun had its time, and I think for the most part, Nintendo has if it was going to bring back other stuff or bring back like older stuff that has been a sort of dormant, and they are willing to do that. Sometimes it seems like F zero would be first, and then I guess then that's not the same team at all. They could also bring back Golden Sun. I just it doesn't seem like it's it's on the car like in the cards right now. But we'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong about that. And I haven't heard anything one way or the other there's been no rumblings about Golden Sun. Another Okay, another quick thing. I think last week I was I went on a little bit of a tangent, and I said, hey, is it does it strike anyone that like, Sony seems very into its relationship with Hollywood and television and so we get like, they're making a lot of movies and TV shows and they are making a lot of games based on movies, so uh, you know Marvel movies specifically, we're getting Spider Man and Wolverine and stuff. And then or or at least you know, I big IP comic book characters that are massive movie characters as well. And then when they do go to make new games or like when they go back to their their catalog and they're going to remake a game or re release an older game or make a new sequel. It seems like they're doing that if they have a TV show coming. So it did that strike anyone? And uh if someone reached out and was like, you know that stuff started under not under Jim Ryan, but under John Codera, who did does have a lot of links to Hollywood and it's very interested in making Sony this big entertainment company and then when he stepped aside to work more specifically on those relationships, that stuff continued under Jim Ryan and Eric Limpal who is still in charge of that stuff, and they are they are focused on those things. But that was an initiative that started under someone who did he have even more interest and making sure they had those links between Hollywood. So that was an initiative that Jim Ryan inherited and he's not backing away from it because it does seem to be working. But it kind of puts in perspective like how like how long the timeline is on a lot of these decisions where I think if Jim Ryan being there for the last several years, this is Jim Ryan sony right, Well, not every single thing that is happening underneath him is something that he'd made sure that he started. He did inherit a lot like that's just the nature of the job, and so that's what was happening. That's what's happening there. There there's team you know in probably in LA that is focused on making sure that these deals happen and that they make sense and that they're cynergized between and that stuffing. Like we criticize Sony for a lot where it seems like the different ranches of Sony aren't synergizing very well. Where Like they have Sony pictures, why like or they have like TVs? Why do the TV seem to not take advantage of all the other stuff that's in the game consoles this and stuff, which seems like they are getting better at sort of synergizing that stuff. And I think this is an example of that. Okay, last topic and then we'll get the questions. And this is a it's a kind of a big one, and I'm like trying to make sure that I walk the line here in terms of it's this is not like this is like a big fanboy talking point. It's about game Pass and whether or not whether or not it's profitable. And uh, let's just get into it. Game Pass is not profitable. Uh. I think that I just want to like state that clearly, but that it doesn't mean that that's not because I wouldn't say that's not for a lack of trying. They don't care about it being profitable right now. There's a lot of angles to this, So I'm trying to gather my thoughts in this stupid ADHD brain they do not care about it being profitable right now. But when you say, when people say stuff like, oh, game Pass is already profitable, that's that's not true. And the reason that's not true is they have like at least probably twenty million subscribers right now, the numbers right around there, somewhere in that range and probably just north at twenty millions. That's a lot of subscribers, and a lot of the subscribers are paying the full price each month, paying between ten and fifteen dollars, and that's pretty good. And they're using a lot of that money that they make and they're going to make other deals and so already like that money. They're taking that money and they're making new deals already they're sort of like scratching out any gains they would be making. And you would say, okay, that makes sense, but it goes way beyond that. They have a budget in the billions from Microsoft to make sure that this works. So that's billions that Microsoft's just saying, here, this is money that we are earmarking for you to make game Pass a thing, and that those billions like and it's this is really comparative comparable to something like Netflix, which rarely has made a profit only a couple of times, and this year is planning to spend seventeen billion dollars on acquiring content. Microsoft is in the same position with game Pass, and so, like Netflix, and like a lot of these companies that are in the like the streaming wars for video, they're not very interested to make it profit right now. They are interested in not getting squeezed out, and so, like no one wants to be paramount plus, right, Paramount plus is like this, this tough situation where you come in late and you have an offering, you have a system that's pretty similar to a bunch of competitors, and you're offering isn't even quite as compelling, and so you're trying to catch up, and you're just worried about getting squeezed out because you know that this is the eventual future as you have to have a finger in this streaming pie and this description based business. Microsoft is in a city similar situation where it is looking to the future and everyone, everyone in gaming expects subscription based models to be at least a part of the business going forward. So when your Microsoft, you look around, you say, okay, we could either do this ourself and spend a lot of money and not be profitable for a very long time, and do this now, or we could wait for someone else to come along and we either have to buy them or we have to try to compete with them, and that will probably be more expensive in the long run. So let's spend billions of dollars now. And that's where it's like we're making an investment. It's like it would be like we are we're making this investment now to protect ourselves from having to make a bigger investment in the future. But that comes back to okay, so then when does game pass become profitable? When does it start to make sense? And that's where it's cloudy. It's confusing. I don't know when I look at when I like look at the way it's laid out to me, it's I have a hard time understanding when it goes from this situation where Okay, we're spending billions to acquire users, to build a foothole to not get squeezed out, and then when does that transition to Okay, now we are sustainable business model that will exist well into the future. That's unclear. It's cloudy. The thing is is that when I look to the streaming services, it's just as cloudy there, and they've been doing it for a lot longer. So Netflix spending seventeen billion dollars this year, you know, that's like their investors are just like, yes, of course we expect this. When does Netflix shift from spending that much money to a situation where they are profitable and sustainable for a long time. That's also not like sure. The thing. The one thing is sure is streaming is going to be a big part of the future, and subscriptions are going to be a big part of the future. So you do not want to get left behind, and it's worth spending all the money now to ensure that doesn't happen later. Now, Microsoft is actually in a an interesting position where it's not necessarily even worried about getting squeezed out. It is worried about squeezing others out. And so we have other subscription services and no almost no one talks about them anymore, Ea Play, Ubisoft Plus, Uh, there's others that I can't, like Stadia not even a subscription whatever, but like there are other subscription services, and Microsoft's like basically game Pass. The position the play right now is make game Pass so big and so so much the default that these other things can't even get a foothold, so you don't really have to compete with them. That's why they spend a lot of money saying, Ea, play come be in game Pass. That's why they're you know, they're probably having similar discussions about some of these other services saying hey, come and come be in game pass, so that if you were ever to consider doing some of those things separately, Like you know, this is just this is all hypothetical, Like this is all me just like thinking about the strategy here. But like if you were ever like to, like if you were Ubisoft, like you have to you have a tough decision because do you play ball with Microsoft or do you try to go alone. Either way, you are going to look like probably a pretty tough sell compared to what Microsoft is offering. And that's exactly what Microsoft wants. They're spending the money now to ensure that's the feeling you have about game Pass so that later they don't have to spend that money later. So again the question is just does this make sense in the long run? I think it probably They probably have some idea of what that looks like just because I don't understand it doesn't mean they don't. But it's going to be a difficult transition, I think, regardless. But that's the way that these companies work. I mean, like startups always point to something like Amazon, where it's like, we're not worried about profits right now. We are worried about you know, average revenue per user, and we're worried about lifetime value, and we're worried about user acquisition costs and use your acquisition rates. And once we get all those things figured out, if all those things are flowing in the right the right direction, then we'll figure out how to monetize in a way that we make long term sustainable sense. Every startup points in that direction. Now, they're like, hey, we're just doing the Amazon thing, and basically that's what game Pass is doing as well. They're like, hey, we're Amazon of game subscriptions. So if we don't sure, we don't have the profitably figured out now, we'll figure it out down the line. But yeah, I guess that was a long way of saying the statements out there, the stories out there that game Pass is already profitable, are not necessarily true. It's just the other side of that is it's not meant to be profitable right now. That is not the goal at all, and it won't be for many, many years, I think. I guess we're just gonna to see, like what happens when these big games actually start coming out at a regular cadence for Game Pass. Do they go from twenty million subscribers up to fifty million rather fast? That that's the big that's the big test. If they go from twenty million anywhere near fifty million because of Halo and Starfield and Red Fall and you know, and Perfect Dark and all these other games that they've acquired, as well as anything else that they're paying for third party, then this thing might actually make some sense in the wrong long run. But even if they were to get to like I'm trying to think of, like what is Netflix subscriber base, Let's just say if they were to get to one hundred million subscribers the way that they're spending money now, even one hundred million wouldn't make them profitable. So they're gonna have to shift something in that business model, something that's gonna have to give. That's where people say, oh, well, they're going to raise the price. And of course they're going to raise the price, but again probably not for a couple of years until they figure out the user acquisition. Like if they have in a situation where everybody just accepts, yeah, I use game paths to get games, just like I use Netflix to get movies and television shows, then yeah, they'll raise the price, or they'll pay developers less. I don't know, like there's there's something has to give. It's the point if this is going to turn into a long term sustainable business and and yeah, it's it's tough for me because it's like there's such a concern troll side of this where people are like, well, I'm just worried that they're going to raise the price, or I'm just worried that Microsoft is a is not going to be profitable and they're gonna give up on this. But it's like, Okay, you could apply those same concerns to any sort of thing happening and gaming, like Sony makes a lot of big games that cost a lot of money to make, and at a certain point you gotta go, hey, is that stuff gonna make sense for them? I'm just concerned that them spending two hundred million dollars on a game isn't gonna make sense for forever. Uh, there's there's a reasons to have concerns all across the board. Gaming is volatile right now, and so just because this new business model doesn't make sense doesn't mean the old business model was also making sense. It doesn't either. So it's like, yeah, Microsoft's trying something. We'll see if it works right now, though definitely not profitable. Okay, I hope that. I hope that ramble was at least somewhat coherent. Let's get to the questions. I got a bunch here, I'm gonna hit the thing that brings it up. Let's let's do it. From slain Mick Awesome, what is the least likely announcement you want Nintendo to make today? Oh? I haven't thought about it. Mother three, Mother three port it into English. I guess that's not even the least likely. But that's pretty unlikely. From my co worker Mike Mnati a Star Tropics HD remake, there you go. From Rows if Mary fuck kill Death, Loop death Loope, Okay, allah, I will very death Loop, I will have I will make love to Loop, and I'll kill Death. Ask the answered from dial the dude, we seem to be getting a lot of we you rereleases on the switch. Yes, yes we are. Any possibility of win Waker HD, Yeah, I guess that's something I didn't talk about because I still feel like that stuff's gonna come next year as we get closer to Breath of the Wild two, but Win Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, that dual pack still exists. I still think it's coming. Nintendo's just holding onto it because it's more important as a marketing beat leading into Breath of the While two than it is, uh, you know, as a standalone thing that they're just gonna sell or or you know, it's better. It's more important as a card in their back pocket that they could play if Breath of the Wild two gets severely delayed and like well into twenty twenty three, they'll still have a big Zelda release for twenty twenty two. That they do this all the time. I feel like we talked about it at least once an episode now where Nintendo is holding onto games for when they them for a rainy day From k Kane High Wind zero nine. Have you heard the rumor that the prime Trilogy remaster might just only be the first Prime game. I don't know if I've heard the new any new rumors about that. I've definitely heard the uh the concerns about like the code being like lost and not being able to be ported very easily. But I am I'm not too worried about that because I think that when Nintendo developed the emulation layer for stuff like game Cuban Wi games, one of the things that did was made sure that it had a lot of hooks in those emulation layers so that it could do stuff on top of the top of the iOS or the ROMs or whatever to add add features and add like widescreen support and stuff without having to actually get into that code and do too much to it. They could just kind of do it on top. I think I have said this before. MVG did a pretty decent video about this. He can explain it better than I can a modern vintage game or on YouTube, So I'm not too worried about that. I think they'll probably be able to figure those things out. But I guess even if it is just the first Prime game, that's the best one, So it'd be a shame not to have all of them from permanent side. From fellow Premium member vandersveldt, awesome with Microsoft being more friendly with the Nintendo. Is there any chance of Viva Pinata on the Switch, either through a rare replay or just a port, or maybe just a new game they've put There was a Viva Panada on the DS. I was just looking at the DS games the other day because we were talking about our favorite DS games on one of my shows, and I was like, Oh, yeah, that that happened in the past. I guess maybe something can happen there again. I would say probably not, just because Viva Piniada is in that weird, the weird spot where there are people. There are people calling for it to come back. I'm one of them. I love Viva Pinata, but there's not a lot of available bandwidth at studios within Microsoft to make it and the third party partners like you could do one of those, but a lot of third party developers are very busy right now. They have a lot of work. I always point to God, what is a camera, gfb iron, what is the name of the studio that worked on Killer Instinct? They are very busy right now. They're doing a ton of stuff. I think they just got enouced that they're doing a one of the remakes of recent like they would like Microsoft would love to have them, like maybe work on a new Killer Instinct game. Maybe like they might consider that, but they're too busy to come and work on that. So it's like they probably even if they got asked, they'd have to say no. Yeah, all right, Kirby game just got leaked. Ye, well, okay, maybe I was maybe I was more in the know on that than I was leading on. Yeah, there's probably gonna be a Kirby game at this thing. I was trying to be iron Galaxy, thank you all so much. The brain just cannot recall information all the time. I'll let me look at up. It's on Twitter. Better, if I go to Nibel, I'll find it. Ironed Galas, thank you all so much. Yeah, im ron kind. The first tweet I see is I advise anyone who's wary about marketing spoilers get off the internet now because I'm gonna write about it and I'm not the only one. Okay, yep, it looks like part of the direct weeked Yeah, we I mean, do we should we talk about this? Let me just keep answering questions and we'll wrap back around to this. But yeah, there's a Kirby game comment. It seems like, let's see here from feature creep, good name, any info on when the Castlevania Advanced Collection will be released? I don't know when. I am hoping. I was hoping for a shadow drop. Why not? You know it's been rated everywhere, so it feels like, you know it's been rated, you could just shadow drop it. Let's let's do it, Let's go for it. I think that would be very exciting. I think that's the best way to get the most people to play that game, is getting people excited about all these games coming out, and then this buzz for this game that these old men won't shut up about on the internet. Okay, I guess I'll go play it. I want something new. I'm excited about the Nintendo Direct. I'll go. I'll get Castlevania Advanced Collection, and then there will be young people who won't be able to shut up about it. Finally, I'm very excited. It's on nc Heal's website. All right, let's see from the Duke can do. If the Dintin Dogs are to be believed, that's a reference to my show and in sixty four is coming to the Switch online. What would be the odd third party drop we get in month four or five. Buck Bumble, Yeah, probably buck Bumble seems like one that would like show up like later. I think win Back. I think win Back is one that'll show up like a few months down the line. I think Glover's one that they try to get in at launch. I think you know, Glover's mentioned enough, But like a big weird third party one might be something like space Station Silicon Valley or Doshing the Giant getting an English version like Weirdly or something like that. Stuff like, Yeah, there's a lot of like deep polls they could do on in two sixty four. Blast Course should be there at the start. Blast Core is pretty. Hybrid Heavens a good one. Yes, Hybrid Heaven's a really good one. That's another one that could just show up later. Jeff Force Gemini is in that weird because it's rare. It's it's owned by Microsoft now, so yeah, it might be weird. Mischief Makers would be good. Treasure any treasure game would be fantastic. H Yeah, there's a lot of good polls that they could do from Hibbity Bibbard, what's your hair routine? No pooh, co wash? I don't. I mean I think no poo means no shampoo, And if that's what that means, then yes, I don't know what co wash means. I mostly do. Uh. I'll do a conditioner about every couple of days. Uh, not often because yeah, because it's you know, I don't even know her to be that greasy. But I also don't use shampoo very often because it dries out my hair and my scalp really terribly. And in Colorado and this dry climate, that's a really bad for me. It doesn't work for me, you know, if things get really rough, you know, I'll shampoo like like every like once a month. That's not creeping people out, but that's just it works for me. If it doesn't work for you, it's fine, But for me it does. It's way better than having like an itchy scalp that's all turning red and getting dan drift everywhere. I haven't had dan drift at quite some time because I stopped using shampoo, like even dan drift shampoo like when I like, that didn't help that much either. So there you go from vetterly I watched Dune earlier this week. Uh, let's say I watched Done earlier this week, and then I realized that Jeff Grubb is the cute version of Jason Momoa. Is this correct? No, I am the store brand version of Jason Momoa. I am the Wish dot Com version of Jason Momoa. Put Jason Momoa in the microwave for about thirty seconds too long, That's what I am from all the Dinos. With yet another high profile departure for Overwatch two, is there any word as to whether they're going to dramatically change their development plan? Uh? Yeah, what was it? Sunny Chaka Sunny, I think it was his name. He left. He was an executive producer, well liked. Uh, He's I think a lot of people are just kind of getting out of dodge. I think it's going to get worse at Blizzard before it gets better, and yeah, well we'll see. I think that. But whether the you know, development plans changed dramatically, I don't know if that's the case. I think that they are probably just trying to get a grasp on like what it looks like going forward, and if that means dramatic changes, they'll do it, but they're probably just kind of scrambling to make sure that things can keep going forward from Priority seven. Mister Snacks, how do you handle working from home with having kids. I'm starting a new job next week that's primarily work from home, and I have two young kids. Hey yeah, solidarity, So how have you balanced professional responsibilities with fatherly obligations? Balance is the wrong word, not great. It's you know, you just do what you have to do. That's the thing. Like people, my wife's a teacher, so she goes to work. I work at home. The kids are too young for all day school. They both have preschool half day, but one of them only has it two days a week, and on those days it's one of those days today Thursday. It's hectic because I just have to drive them back and forth because they're also too young to like to like reliably get bussing service, and there's no bus drivers. I mean, I gotta I have to do it all myself. But like my wife will like tell her her co workers on My husband's at home and take care of the kids, and he also works all day, Like how does he do it? It's like not that surprise. You just do what you have to do. That's what people always do, so you don't think about it much beyond that. And the reality is you have so many burners on your life stove, and you move things to the back burner, and what happens is a lot of times things get moved off the back burner as well, and you just put kids and work on all on all the stoves, and like you hope like this is like a passing thing, and you're like, you realize it's really hard right now, but mostly it's been worth it because I get to spend a lot of time with my kids. Uh. I like that. It's worth it to me because I'm I'm not sending them off to daycare, and personally that works for me. I really like that. But we are getting to a point where I did a podcast on Wednesday yesterday and they were both home at that time, and the young one was just losing her mind through the whole thing, and I'm like, Okay, it's probably times the younger one is now old enough to be causing so many problems, and then if the older one also would to do the same thing at the same time, it would just be untenable. So I'm like I'm looking for more childcare options now, like that's the legit like reality of the situation. At the same time, though, it's not that hard to get the kids busy doing something and then go get some work done in bursts. I guess that's really what it is. You have to work in bursts. And while that's not great for me a lot of times, I think some people can also make it work. And if I can make it work, I feel like anyone can do it. It's kind of how I feel about it. But it's hard, There's no two ways about it. It's hard. But if you have to do it, you'll do it. You'll figure it out. From Black Liam Neeson, have you heard anything about what is going on at Hanger thirteen. I have, or I heard a long time ago their London studio was working on a Mafia four, while the rest is working on a new IP that seems that mostly lines up with what I've heard. I think that they are still looking at doing a Mafia four, but that's still a ways off. And then that new IP is something that we've heard before. It is the Cadulu meets Saints Row Thing, the Open World supernatural alien game. I guess, and I was expecting to see that E three just based on the timing of the leaks before that and being able to confirm that that game is real. I think Project Thunder or something like that. I'd have to look it up, but yeah, that game was real. It's coming. I imagine we'll probably see it next year. Put your kids acroup, put your kids on the stove. Pretty much just what I said. Yeah, that's fair tee. Do do you think Microsoft would allow cross collaboration between studios ubsidy and making a Fallout game Double Find using the Doom Engine and stuff like that. Absolutely, that's one thing that they need to learn from, not just like Sony, but like you be Soft and all these other companies that make you know, having fourteen studios makes sense. You have to share everything. You have to share learnings. Oh my god, I said learnings. Okay, I gotta go put money in the jar. I can't believe I said learnings. You have to share lessons, which is the word that that means you don't say learnings. God, I can't believe. I'm like upset with myself. You have to share lessons, and you have to share tech and really have to share lessons about how to use that tech, and that's what Sony does very well. Now that leads to a little bit of a flattening right where every Sony game feels like it has an AI partner that is really your guide and they are taking you on a it's the developer taking you on an assist mission where they're protecting you, right, like, oh yeah, you have a treius there, and ostensibly you are there to protect a tray us, right, but no, a traus is there to make sure you don't get lost and someone to bounce off dialogue. So it's like if you are stuck in a puzzle, they could be like, I think this is gonna happen, and it all makes more sense like that stuff we see in a lot of Sony games because they learned that worked, and now all Sony students have learned like, okay, we're going to use that trick as well, and that's what there's a little bit of flattening there where things start to feel pretty similar. But I don't think really does anybody care. Those games sell. People like those games, and Microsoft has enough variety in other ways where if they are learning these lessons and applying them and using the same engine, using the same tech, their games are still going to feel pretty different from one another. Learnings, disgusting buzzwords all right from casual Hey Jeff, firstly, I just wanted to say thank you for doing the show. Thank you so much. I appreciate that this, alongside Last than Last of the Nintendogs, have fastly become one of my weekly highlights. I appreciate that. And let Mike Manady know he'll be very excited to hear that too. My question is what's your favorite game soundtrack of twenty twenty one so far? A Cruising Blast? I love. I love the Cruising Blast theme song. I really do. It's it's trash, but it's my kind of trash. It's it does it sound like so much? Mike said, he's someone trying to do a bad take on a Daytona theme, right, Daytona Like they heard that and it's someone no talent when and made a song for a Cruising Blast And Okay, I don't care. I love it. I played it for my kids and now my kids want me to play it all the time. And wherever we leave the house, we say, hit the road, roll out, let's go cruising like that's that's our chant basically, and now we just added let's go cruising because of this song. And my daughter does this song. I actually I meant to this week. She's sang it and I was gonna like have her. I was gonna dub her over the song and put it in the podcast, but I forgot, so I'll have to remember for next week. It's a it's it's a good, bad song and I love it and I don't care what anyone says. Day cruising. Yes, they hired got it. Yeah, that's a good song there, all right from Chris Flavin. Have you have you heard anything to put weight behind the GTA three, Vice City and sant Andrea's remake rumors? Yes, they're real. Yeah, so we talked about that a little bit earlier. Maybe it shows up at the Direct. I don't know. The direct. Stuff is apparently leaking right now, so this stuff is gonna be outdated here in five minutes, but that that stuff is real, probably coming in October. Remake feels like a strong word. Uh, they definitely have. Definitely. I've heard that they've ported the code to Unreal Engine, but that doesn't mean like they remade the game and unreal engine. Like we see a lot of YouTube videos where it's like Mario sixty four, we made it unreal. That's not necessarily what's happening here. It is. Someone who's really good at porting code was like, Hey, we're gonna take the GTA code and we're gonna poort it into Unreal engine so that it is easier for us to deal with in the future. It's more future proof if we want to update it to a future engine from here, it makes that's going to be easier. Adding stuff to these games will be easier. We can hire people who work an unreal engine to add things to these games going down the line, and it's just just going to assure that these things are safe and secure for preservation's sake, for making money's sake down the line. I wouldn't expect them to look like brand new games basically, especially because I think they're coming to the Switch, so kind of keep that in mind. If they're gonna run on Switch, what are they gonna look like. They're gonna look like those games mostly remaster. Yes, from Dude to lung Couch another good name. Have you heard anything about the status of Shin Move Forward? Can we expect news anytime soon. If not, what is you Susuki working on these days? I haven't heard anything. I hope you Suzuki is kicking back and relaxing. He's had a long career. Getting shin moved three out was impressive on its own, So yeah, go have a my tie or whatever. I don't know. I haven't heard anything. Sorry, I'll let you know if I do. From Future Creep, heard anything interesting about Tokyo Games Show? No, not super interesting again. I think I expected to be pretty similar to Gamescom. I think we talked about that recently too. The way the way Gamescom sort of came along, it was like pretty decent, but not like, you know, didn't blow anyone in a way. I think Tokyo Games Show it's gonna be kind of like that. From Overhaul eighty nine. Any news on upcoming Capcom projects like Pragmata, Dragons, Dogma two among others, or should we wait until Tokyo Game Show been listening since the first episode, have now also started listening to last than Nintendogs two. Wow, okay, it's a Nintendogs heavy episode. Thank you so much for that overhaul. I appreciate that Tokyo Game Show and Capcom. I think dragons Dog, but who seems like one that could show up there, Praga, Pragmata we need to learn more about. Maybe they tease some stuff there, but that also feels like something that could pop up at a Tokyo game or at the Game Awards, right, Like it's the kind of thing that Jeff Keeley would like to have. You know, you show a cinematic trailer that makes sense for that sort of showcase, for that broad audience. So maybe that's something that shows up there. Uh from Zecrets, zircits Zecrets, I got it there. What will be the next big remake? I don't know, trying to think what is there left to do? Uh, we'll probably get up. We could get like a fire Emblem remake here pretty soon, But will that be a big remake? I guess I don't know what you mean by big. I hope that they remake the first Melo Gear Solid, not that the first Meld Gear slid evens needs to be remade in my opinion, but it would be nice to get that franchise back at a situation where they're like, hey, let's let's do a remake and maybe we could treat this like our resident Evil and then do a new one here whatever, I now doing a new one Withoutkajima, but whatever, I want to see it. I just want to see it. I don't think they're doing that though, but that's what I hope from Zach Chase got a hard one for you. Can you look into what tom Create is making next time? It should be lining up for a new SD Gundham game next year. What can you find out about it? Also? What's the best Gundham? Don't say g So I just started watching any Gundam with double O seventy nine zero zero seventy nine, basically the nineteen seventy nine Gundham show. That's fantastic. That's a really good show, turns out. But I will look into this. I have no answer for you, but I'll look into it. But but obviously the best one is Gundham g from Kane High one zero nine is Vanilla ware pretty much a second party Sony dev or whatever. At this point, you think there's any chance of importing thirteen sitting those to other consoles? It probably shows up on PC, right, but I don't know about other consoles. Uh, those ones are always weird Sony's deals in those those games are always a little bit more heavy handed in terms of long term console exclusivity. But yeah, I think there's probably not much chance they show up on Xbox or Switch. It'll be on PC though. If it's not already, I don't think it is. It's not right, yeah, because I was gonna play it for Game of the Year and I'm like, ah, it's not a PC Bane fire Lord. Any idea if that Weird West game from x R Cane People is still coming out this year, no idea. I forgot about that until you just mentioned it. So I'll look into that too. How are we doing on time? We're approaching an hour here pretty fast. Doing pretty good. Uh. For Emily Rodgers says they're not releasing any Metric Prime trilogy, just a remake of one. I believe you've said they're sitting on the trilogy. Who do. I believe Emily Rodgers knows her stuff, So if that's what she says, maybe they did have more trouble with the with with two and three than first when the When I first heard I know that their goal was to metri Prime trilogy, and I heard that they were sitting on it, but you know, wires couldn't get crossed there, and I think Emily Rodgers or stuff. So you know, we'll see. And maybe that's one of the reasons it's taken so long. It's because they did try to get that stuff figured out and they just gave up, or maybe it didn't work as well as they thought. From Zach Chase. With Advanced Wars coming out this year, even though I is it may oh intelligent systemance isn't making it no chance for fire emblem announcements today, Right, I wouldn't say there's no chance. It feels like we're approaching the right timing for a remake of one of those older games, right I s I wouldn't say there's no chance we'll see from Fireball ninety one ninety nine. Jets Little Caesars or Buddies. Buddies is one that became more popular after I left Michigan. I think there was definitely a Buddies around that time. But I remember going back and visiting some friends after I left Michigan when I was about fifteen, and then when I came back when I was like seventeen, and I remember Buddies being like like being surprised seeing those everywhere. I grew up on Little Caesars. I love Little Caesars. If you get the go get the Detroit Deep Dish from them, you know, the pan crust or whatever. It's very good. It's still very good. But Jets is like top tier pizza. Jets is so good and it's very expensive to reflect that. But I when we are like, hey, let's have a real pizza night where we are deciding we are gonna have pizza, we do Jets. We go all out. But if it's like, hey, we need food right now and we want like but we also like want pretty decent pizza, we order from Little Caesars. We don't do the Hot and Ready. We order from Little Caesars. And then if I'm like, man, I gotta feed these kids now, we get the Hot and Ready right there. That's the way to do it. But yeah, if you haven't had Jets, definitely try Jets from Kai Do how many emotions will the Quantic Dreams Star Wars game give us? I just hope that they send out a three thousand page blank script like they do with all their games, Like they send out blank scripts that are three thousand pages to show this is how many words are in these Quantic Dream games. And they've done that for like three or three games or something like that now, and they send us out to press or whatever. It's a real cheap trick whatever feature creep. When will we get the final Smash character by the end of the year. I think so. Yeah. I guess probably by the end of this year. Let's see. Let's see what she's saying here. Let's see what Emily Rogers is saying. Last I heard an intend it was was you working on Metro. This is from Emily Rodgers working on Metro Prime one to celebrate the game's twentieth anniversary in twenty twenty two. I'm not sure if we're getting a trilogy or just they re released at the first game. I'm leaning toward the Ladder, but I hope we get the former. I think that that is probably in line with what we've heard about the game. The game, like the developers. An old developer of the game was worried that the code was lost and they wouldn't be able to do two in three, and this seems to be in line with that stuff. So there's still questions around that game. Absolutely I've heard that it was done and ready, but again, those wires could get crossed, and maybe it was just referring to Metro Prime one was ready and they were trying to figure out two and three. We'll see. Jay Man says, I unfortunately got the hot and ready and I didn't mind. Don't mind. You gotta get that hot and ready something you no, you don't mind it. It's still good. But when people are like Little Caesars so bad, they're just like thinking, like their teacher got them a hot and ready for pizza day for their pizza party, and it was sitting out for an hour and a half before they've got a slice, and that's bad. I'm no, you're bad. You're bad. And if you want to like, if you want to judge Little Caesars, then go order a little Seesar pizza with these kids. I tell you who from Kane Hide wins zero nine. Which do you think will be released first? BAYONNAA three, Broath of a While two, or Metroid Prime four. That's a tough one. I want to say Bay another three. That one seems right, but I think there's a chance Breath of the Wild two comes out before Bay Another three I'm gonna say bay Anota three, I'm gonna say that, Yes, all right, Herbie Discovery, Okay, let's see here. I'm sorry, I was like looking to see what Amron was posted about that Kirby game. That's that's okay, I'm not I guess I'm not too sprice stuff with starting the leak. But it's on ncl's websites. That makes sense. All right, all right, let's keep going. We'll do a few more questions for sure. Mighty war Canoe says, Hey, Jeff, what's the deal with Overwatch two in the most recent departures? The game almost done? Or is it falling apart? I don't know for sure. Uh what we heard was like, yeah, it's it was still moving along, but they are definitely having the development issues. I guess would be it is some in a state in between where it's you know, they are moving towards a finalized version of that, but things probably do feel like they're falling apart. A lot of that's probably to do with, you know, the way people are feeling about working at that studio right now. So it's not it's definitely not great, and you know, at a certain point when all you hear when you were coming to work at all you hear about is either people you respect leaving because they don't want to deal with the shit, or you hear about the awful shit. Yeah, it weighs you down from the snap. Will the Windows Store UWP container rules ever lift for games? Other apps already don't have to follow the rules, but for new games they seem to be still encrypted. I think that that stuff should go away pretty soon. I think Windows eleven will probably be the way to like rip off that band aid. You know, they definitely want to put the UWP container behind them so they can get back to Win thirty two and have these things just launch the same way as the Steam versions work, so that they could support mods and all this stuff, and they can be more portable and go to different stores and stuff like that, and the Windows Store won't be such a nightmare to use. That's they want all that stuff. Windows eleven is like a nexus point where they can make that happen, and they want to make that happen with Windows eleven. From vesselin good question, any idea if Lucasfilm Games has any high republic games in the pipeline, or if there's interest. There is super duper a lot of interests for High Republic games. We talked about this a little bit last week with Knights of the Old Republic remake, where that is setting the stage for them saying we are going to be telling more stories in the Star Wars universe, especially in games before before the movie trilogies. So that means, yeah, it's going to be it's going to include High Republic stuff. Absolutely, there are definitely in the talks to make that stuff happen. But like they're gonna do next with the Republic remake, probably first, you know, I think we'll see with how the timing actually works. But Nights of the Republic, you know, we'll come out and be like, hey, here's the story that takes place thousands of years ago, and it's you know, we're gonna retell it and we're gonna maybe probably re establish it in the Cannon. And then from there, you know, maybe we'll have a seed of something that is picked up in the High Republic hundreds or thousands years later or whatever it is, and uh, and we'll tell that story in a game, you know, alongside whatever's happening in the High Republic. Books, but they are very interested in capitalizing on the storytelling that they're doing in these books right now. So yeah, that there's a lot of interest there. Permanent side. Why did Nintendo suddenly enable Bluetooth audio in the switch four years later? There's no good answer to that. I feel like it's like one of those things where they woke up like, hey, we could, so let's do it. Who knows, Maybe internal thinking shifts and they're like, hey, so we have only so much blue Bluetooth bandwidth. If we do this, we're not gonna be able to have like four controllers connected or whatever. Like who is listening to their Bluetooth headphones or you know, blue Bluetooth headset for gaming if they're playing alongside someone else. That doesn't make any sense. So yeah, of course do that. I don't know, it was probably just one day someone woke up was like, hey, we did this. We could just at this point, we could just honestly just flip a switch, do you want us to? And then someone's probably like, yeah, let's do it. A part of it probably also like they're probably they probably already did it for the old model because they want to like position the old it's fifty dollars more expensive. They want to position it right and say, hey, this is like for people who care about audio visual and you can't really do that if you don't support Bluetooth now. Really you can't do that if you only have the the SBC codec, which is a pretty laggy codec. But they don't. Nintendo, it doesn't seem like they're gonna like implement anything that's fast like apt X is qual Com. I don't think they have a qual Com chip anywhere inside there. I wouldn't think they do. There are other fast there are other fast codex that absolutely they could use, but but yeah, it's still there. They like Bluetooth audio still, like you put it on the box, even if it's not a good implementation of Bluetooth audio. From Kahindwind zero nine, Virtual Boy on switch when I think they could actually bring back Virtual Boy games and just make up two D and just accept it and that would be fine, but probably probably not. They're probably not good to do that. But they should and they could, but they're probably not going to. From gil baitis this say, remember Virtue at tennis or just sago, remember about virtual Attennis. I think should Virtue Attennis was really solid, a really good game. I you know, licensed sports games that are also kind of arcadie, Like, those things are in a weird place. I think they should have a resurgence. I think there probably is an audience that would be willing to get back into him. It's just like, it's a tough bet, because are you going to be the game that people like? But hey, I used to love these games. I'm gonna play this and this one's really good, or are you gonna be the game? It's like, oh, it's another one of those I can safely pass that by, and it's it's a risk, and I think Saga's just not sure about taking those kinds of risks right now. From Tolkoto, how are you? I'm okay better than yesterday. Yesterday was rough. Kid was crying NonStop. She was crying so hard that she puked to clean it up in the middle of the ten Dogs podcast. I did take the other kid to school, and then and then finally the young one. I took a nap and I got a little bit of work done, but I was also still like so strung out. It was a hard to actually get work done. I'm Okay, thanks for asking Mike from Dune, why not Zeno Blade Chronicles X two? That part of the saga is not finished and it's an open world JRPG with Mecca's on it. Listen. I don't know that much about the Zeno Blade games. I'll be honest. I understand that Zeno Blade Chronicles X was the more open world game compared to the Chronicles, you know, proper. That's about as much as I know. I know that there's swords with boobs. I think I know that much. That could be wrong, But honestly, I feel like if I said that about kind of a lot of games, that would be a right, and I think it's right in this case. So yeah, I don't know. If I were I would personally be more interested in the Chronicles X two. But I'm also not that interested in any of these personally. That's just my taste, So I don't think I'm the one to speak to this exactly. Adam three times, was there any truth of the rumor that Ash Williams from Evil Dead was supposed to be in Mortal Kombat eleven. I don't know for sure. I feel like that was in discussion. I think like there probably probably wasn't talk. It probably just fell apart. Like now there's an Evil Dead game coming in right maybe maybe that caused like a conflict or something. I don't know, uh from W two Hello, goodzer. Any more acquisition announcements this year? Sorry, it's a very general question. There probably will be I don't know from who, but like nothing's changed in regards to so companies wanting to spend that money. If anything's changed, Inflation looks like it's gonna be with us for quite some time. And so the money that people have in the account right now, the money that Microsoft and Sony and Nintendo have on their books right now, is going to be worth less next year, and it's probably gonna worth be worth significantly less last year. So we're I think what last quarter inflation was like five percent or something like that. It's probably not gonna stay at five percent inflation every quarter for the next couple of years. But if you're anywhere between three to five percent, then is your money is worth three to five percent less than it was when you earned it, And that is going to make these companies want to move And if there's any risk that it could go like to seven percent, and things could get out of control. They're gonna want to really move, spend that money, put it into something real, and then have that thing start earning money for you, and that that is way way better use than having it sitting around. None of that's changed. If anything, that's going to be more encouraging for them to spend money. That's the point of inflation is to encourage people to spend money. And if it go if it stays at the rate it's at anywhere near the rate it's at, these companies are going to want to spend it. So I would expect more acquisitions from Trice. Tristan Q. Tristan, I'm sorry that was just bad from Tristan. Since you mentioned you're a Star Wars fan, any interest in Star Wars visions a lot of interest. Yes, absolutely, I'm I'm at a point where, like I talked about those burners earlier, and I only have so many burners. Watching television is definitely one that has moved from a back burner to off the stove completely. But I do make a little bit of time for like the MCU stuff on Disney Plus and the Star Wars stuff, and it's a little bit more like with the what if stuff where it's hard to tell, like how if it matters to the overall story. I do wait a little bit, and Vision seems to be in that category. But it's getting so much praise and it looks so awesome in videos and trailers, then I'm going to probably watch it as soon as I get some time, either this week or this weekend, just not a lot of time, but it looks awesome. Uh from zac Chase Big Dogs, the brand or the animal yea or nay. I am. I'm not a dog person, but I'm fine with them. I just as long as the dog doesn't. When when I go into someone's house and the first thing that happens is the dog walks up to me and gets in my crotch, I don't. I don't appreciate that so much. And if the dog licks a lot of stuff and it's drooling everywhere, I'm not a big fan of that. Dogs smell bad to me. I'm sorry. I'm not a dog person. This is this is me getting canceled right now. I'm a cat person. I am. I can't help it. I don't dislike dogs. They're just not for me. But you know, if I see a big dog and it's being a good boy. I will say good boy of course. As for the brand, of course, yeah, big a dog brand. I can't I can't remember. I remember like a Big Dog was like the weird it was like on T shirts and stuff. Right, I'm like having trouble remembering. I think I'm confusing it with Red Dog, the beer from the nineties, which you know I wasn't. I was too young to drink then, but I remember Yet Dog. That branding was very much like it feels like it was appealing to children. All right, are we doing? Are we doing in terms of like, yeah, we're going a minute in ten? Or yeah, an, how we'ur in ten? I'm gonna do a few more. I'm gonna see if there's any good ones. But I'm probably gonna jump to the top here. So if you want to ask a question again, send it in again. I'll take a look here. All right, mighty working news. Oh no, I just said, uh no, that's a different one. Speaking of Star Wars, there's any updates on the game that's being developed by Massive the Division devs. I think just that. I think we'll probably see that game next year. Once the EA thing is fully passed, that's when we'll start seeing games like that. They've announced them, they're working on them, they're allowed to work on them. I think that they've got all gotten permission and everything's okay, obviously, but they're going to wait to show those until after the EA deal has fully expired. From Timonious, can you expand on that speculation about Nintendo expanding on their Nintendo Switch online offerings. I feel like starting at twenty hours per year for online play and cloud says plus an S and s NES ROMs is very fair. What else could they offer to create a higher tier. I think they're going to try to offer a lot more games as what seems like they're there probably could be more to it. I would hope that they would offer pretty decent like voice communication and like stuff similar to Discord, where there's like maybe you can have like friend groups a little bit and stuff like that. But I don't have much faith in Nintendo putting that stuff onto the Switch. So it seems like the very least it'll be in sixty four plus game Boy and game Boy Color and then maybe some other systems as well. We'll see, but again I don't know if that's that's gonna get anunced this direct or not. I seem I think it's probably going to because we know that at least one of those those controllers is probably gonna show up because of the FCCU filing. But we'll see and then hey, I don't know, maybe that was stuff comes and it's still just twenty dollars a year and they're fine with it. But it does feel like if it's Nintendo and they're offering you all these games like Nintendo. If you're Nintendo, you know, hey, we're giving you all these games. It's just for twenty dollars a year. We could probably charge more. We've gotten away with charging more all the time. We'll probably still pay it, right, And they're gonna say yes, They're gonna answer that question with yes. So I think they think they could probably charge more by just offering Nintendo sixty four and a few other things. Whether or not you agree with that is up in the air, but I think a lot of people probably will just keep paying. Uh and then see us Celesson Celesson celess leon Hart. Uh. Sorry, if this has been covered, How did War for Wakonda do for the Avengers? Devs. How is the how's the studio feeling? If you know? Thanks Jeff. I'm not sure. I think it did okay, but it's probably not the what is the Destiny the Destiny expansion the Wolf one that came out and like re reinvigorated that that game. It's probably not doing exactly those numbers, almost certainly not doing those numbers, But I think they're feeling okay, Like if if they had plans to go beyond this, maybe they're gonna be keep going with it because of what's happening now with that with that expansion. The expansion was pretty well received, and I think they're happy about that at the very least. Okay, I moved to the top. Let's I'm gonna do a couple more questions and then uh start wrapping things up all right? From Black Liam Theeson. Now that the Third Fantastic Beast Films has been brought forward to April fift twenty twenty two, how do you think. What do you think the chances are Hogwarts Legacy releases in the same month. I'm pretty decent they'll probably they're probably aiming for something around that movie, but they don't have to go exactly when the movie is out to make that work. And if they you know, if they're working on that game and it still needs some time, they'll give it the time and it'll just come out later in the year. From Slay mcgawson, win, is the Avenger is going to go free to play? It's a good question. I don't know. You know, we've seen that shift happen a million times in the past. Is this game gonna follow that same path you think it would, but at the same point, like maybe they say it's not even worth doing that like that. You know, that requires a lot of reinvestment and shifting up the way the systems work, and you have to be certain that's going to matter in the long run. I think they probably could pull it off. I just don't know if they had the appetite for it. From Chill ninety two, Platinum Games seems to have a lower output lately. I think the partnership with ten Cent will lead to a greater volume of games from them down the line. You know, probably that's I'm sure that was part of the plan, is to take a lot of money to ensure they could do more games. But you know, getting talent as hard. And if if the reason that they're behind is because they don't have enough people at the studio, that could be that could still be a challenging if they do have money. But yeah, with that, with that money, they should be able to higher up and get more stuff done. But you know, getting those new hires up to speed and make it sure that they could deliver, especially they have a lot of partnerships going on, that's still going to be a real challenge for them. Let's the one of U se if there's anything else for Black Heart Vinyl. The Xbox division itself is profitable now, right, and isn't game Pass a big reason why that is? So that's a good question. X Xbox Division itself is profitable absolutely. Game Pass I think overall though, is a drop in the bucket. So I think that the game Pass or the Xbox Studio or I'm sorry, the Xbox Division makes around like fifteen billion in revenue. I think that's a lot and a lot of that money is because they sell a lot of micro transactions. So it's stuff like Fortnite and Call of Duty and people spending a lot of money on those games. That makes Microsoft a lot of money. Now, is game Pass a big reason why. It's why my Xbox is profitable. No, I think overall game Pass is in the red because of that huge user acquis issue, buzzet budget that it has set aside. Like if you count that against game Pass and that money is there, the billions of dollars is there to grow game Pass. If you count that against game Pass, game Pass is easily in the red. But at the same time, and this is like it's an important distinction. Game Pass is responsible for microsum of Microsoft's growth, where game Pass is growing year over year, and so when you talk about we are making more revenue than we made last year, game Pass is responsible for some of that. Now they are spending a lot of money to pay for that growth. That's that's where like, okay, now it's games when you start out, when you move from revenues to profit, that there's a shift there and you have to count the money they are spending to get that growth. And that's where game Pass is still on the red. But game Pass is absolutely growing year over year, and it's just they are paying a lot of money to make that happen. So revenue compared to grow there's compared to you know, spending compared to profits, there's a distinction there. And the thing is is that Microsoft also doesn't care very much about that distinction right now. They are not interested in and the profits of game Pass now and they won't be for several years. But but yeah, if we are talking about whether or not it is profitable and contributing to the profits of the company, that's not necessarily how it is. It's contributing to the growth, which is something different. Right from Winter Rise, what's up with the Xbox Slash Xbox three sixty backupat on series X consoles? Beyond technical reasons, can the remaining titles just be added? Similar at how all Xbox One games are backupat on the series consoles. So that's a little bit different because those those previous consoles are different architecture, they will would require some work. Also, there's the licensing issues that's a big part of it. But you know this is this feeds into what we were just talking about, where those games, the Xbox One games, uh, make a lot of sense to go into to go into backup pat because they're still they still have a lot of appeals. So if they also show up in game Pass, they contribute to game passes appeal. So you have hundreds of games and they've spent a lot of money on ensuring good backward compatibility for that reason because they need to have a lot of content in there. That's what they care about, is having a lot of content, and one of the ways of delivering that is putting old games in there. Now, of course, these old games aren't like Friends and Seinfeld on Netflix or whatever, where it's like, you know, a new generation is showing up just to watch Friends and it's the biggest show in the world again or whatever. But it's still is important to them having content, and so that's why they did that work. Now you start getting diminishing returns as you go back, so this is like we're talking black and white ones and zeros and you know, you know black and red really like whether or not it's worth the money to do this. I think there is definitely a team within Microsoft that wants to go back and get those Xbox and Xbox through sixty games, but they are at a point where they could do that work, but that probably won't move the needle too much on stuff like game pass, which is the thing which is the needle They care about. So do you send that team to go do that stuff or do you maybe focus them on and improving some other aspects of the way Xbox plays games. And right now they're probably working on other stuff. Maybe they have an eye on those older games, and I know that there's a team that cares about that stuff. It's just allocating those resources in ways that is going to make the biggest different to their bottom you know, really their top line, their top line revenues, and that's going to come down to more recent games that have more appeal and even those games that don't have a ton of appeal. Even though I think I think Microsoft overall looked out where they started doing this game pass thing at a time when games from like five to ten years ago actually are relatively still appealing. Where if they were to do this five ten years ago, that the previous generational games were aging really fast. You know, we have Skyrem which is just just just turned ten grand, Theft Auto five is eight years old, and it gets like these are games that are still played non stop today and uh, and so they kind of looked out where they can focus a little bit on these back back of pat resources and still help put out put games into game Pass that have some appeal even though they are ten years old, and that just wouldn't have worked in the past. Okay, still a few more and then I'm gonna wrap up Brenderous. If the Nintendo sixty four on switch thing ends up hopening, what are the chances we get Golden Eye? Very slim, very slim. Golden Eye is you know, there's multiple steakeholders there. There's MGM, there is Microsoft, and then there is Nintendo. I think Microsoft's, you know, owning rare. I wonder if they own any of the code. They're probably not, but there's probably some steak that they have in Golden eight. And if they don't, still even just having MGM having to work with MGM that will be difficult and challenging. But yeah, so Golden Eyes probably unlikely. I think Perfect Dark is the more interesting one because Perfect Dark is one where just Nintendo Microsoft could work that one out. But Microsoft tried to release a remaster of Perfect Dark years ago, and Nintendo is the one that stepped in and stopped that from happening. So Nintendo shows up and say, hey, can we put a Perfect Dark in Nintendo sixty four Online, and all this stuff. Microsofts gonna say, hey, well, okay, yeah, but let us do this thing with this other game that we already are with a perfect DARG remaster. Let us put that on Xbox. And I think Nintendo might still be stuck on that point, so we'll have to wait and see. Uh From Blabbermouth speaking to Marvel, any chance of Ultimate Alliance four? How did three do? I think three did okay, but it kind of I think it got hurt because the switch only and its performance wasn't the best, so I think some people were holding off hoping they'd get a chance to play it on other platforms. I think it did okay, but Ultimate Alliance four seems like less likely today than it did a few years ago. From Nana Puss, Are we getting the final Smash character today? I think so? I mean, I would be better. I can't. I think we should. Yes, yeah, we'll see mccrinkledank. You think that Hollow Night's Silk Song leak for February four from February first is legit? I don't know. I'm like hesitant to give any hope of Silk Song anytime soon, but it would be cool if I got to now then got a date it was coming in February. First, let's hope from future Creep. Why was Keiley's audio so bad during the THHQ thing. I sabotaged him a game down with game fest, up with the game mess, and I went in there and I switched his audio from his microphone to his webcam, and that really messed him up. Something good. That's what he gets from messing with the game mess. Nobody messes with the game mess. He doesn't know that we're in a battle, but he should. Okay, what is your what is your smash character prediction? I'm just gonna I'm just gonna go back to it. I don't care anymore. Walluigi, I don't care. He's insist trophy, just do it. If it's will Luigi. It is the one right answer. It is the one thing he could do where it's like, oh my god, they actually did it. They pulled it off. Even the people who don't want while Luigi would be like, Okay, we respect the hustle, we respect that you actually went for it, but yeah, it's probably not gonna be Wallawiji, all right, everybody, I think it's gonna do it. We're gonna wrap this up. Now, we're gonna go get prepped for this whole thing. I'm gonna go read some news about what is what people, what is leaked. We're gonna read this Imron con story over at fan Bite about Kirby. We'll get out of here, all right. Thank you everybody for watching. Thank you everybody for sitting in questions. This is a lot of fun. I do believe that the Giant Bomb crew is going to be talking over the Nintendo Direct today, So come back later today, watch that, enjoy that. That should be a good time. I'm gonna be writing about it over on Game Speed. We're probably gonna stream ourselves doing that, but we're just gonna be writing during its. It's gonna be really stupid. So watch the Giant Bomb one. But then yeah, I'll be back with another another one of these next week.
