I guess it they don't love his Maybe maybe the Red Sox look at it like, hey, you know what our fallback plan is Tristan Cassis if he comes back from his injury. You know, has he done enough in the big leagues for them to say, yeah, we're a play I don't think you can say synonymously. You can't say it in the same breath. We want to be a World Series winning team, and we'll just figure out first base, because first base they showed, the Red Sox showed all of baseball and everybody that says it first pace. Isn't that easy. You can't just find somebody. I thought it was great that they picked up Nathaniel Low. Now they didn't bring him back. They didn't ten or more contracts, So you know, you got to go out and get somebody. And it's a position that there's a lot of power out there and you can't have.

Those are the three needs for the Red Sox for me, right, and it needs to be a right handed hitter because they have a lot of these guys that can hit lefty, but they need a dude that can go up there and slug and hit the ball off and over the Green Monster.

There's gonna be a lot of other teams though, that are in on Kyle Schwarber because not only of his presence in the box, but his presence in the clubhouse.

He doesn't obviously play in the field, but that's highly valued by the Phillies. Obviously, it's not obvious how the market will view him. What do you think do you think he goes back?

Speaker 2: I think the Phillies don't build their team necessarily on war in the offseason. I think some teams build their team on war and build their team on well, we want to make sure we have a lot of flexibility. Maybe that's the route that they have to go. But I don't think there's any team that understands his value in the clubhouse more than the Phillies. I'd have a hard time believing, like being told who's going to be the next guy to step up? When you look around that team, who's the guy that steps up to be the leader on this team? And some people inside the clubhouse might say, we don't need you know, we have a lot of good leaders. I fear that when a team says that, because to me, that's where Schwarber's value is. Also the fact his numbers were ridiculous. He was a second second in MVP voting, But to me, it was less about his numbers and more about his improvement from last season to this season. The fact that he dropped his strikeout rate, the fact that he hit the most home runs left on left of anybody in the big Leaues, the fact that he's continually gotten better the entire time he's been there, and I just feel like, I feel like a team, other teams are gonna want to go four years one twenty because they know his values there, and I think the Phillies will probably end up, you know, maybe like five one thirty five. I don't know that he's going to get five full years at thirty a year. I feel like that's I feel like that's stretching it. And if it does get to that, I really think the Phillies are willing to say, yes, we want to be in on that.

To me, I feel like there's I know this will never happen, but it feels like if you've ever been to like a white elephant gift where they like you go in the middle and you like, pick a gift if somebody's if somebody's picked a gift three times, it can't be exchanged. If you were in a package for a prospect, I mean for an elite superstar like Juan Soto, like you were traded to that team because the team wanted to not resign that guy and they wanted to rebuild. He's not even done in six years yet, and they're looking they're talking about trading him. It's like, like, wasn't this I get a team's fail on this kind of stuff. But he was supposed to be one of the pieces and is one of those pieces. Instead of saying, oh, we got to take a step back and get rid of CJ. Abrams, we got to take a step back and just see, you know, see what's out there.

Now here we are again a couple years later, they're doing it again and again. It's like, at some point, figure it out, that's it. New front office learners. I think there's I think when I watched Mackenzie Gore, he's not Teik Scuoble level, but he has stuff that is swinging miss and I think he chases swinging miss out of the zone more often than he needs to. Is that a change in his approach? Does he need to get confidence that he can get those outs in the zone? But I think his stuff because it comes from that awkward angle that his outs, his strikeouts can be in the zone.
