00:02:14
Speaker 1: To say, maybe a Wan Soto type of night. Helm no any props.

00:02:18
Speaker 2: Saying that we're about to turn things around. That's great, grand wonderful. Danny g put a no Mets policy within the first three minutes of the show, and you broke that rule.

00:02:31
Speaker 1: That's fair, that's fair. I'm sorry, You're right.

00:02:33
Speaker 2: You know what I do want to talk about on today's show, Ray J and the number of women he's claimed to have slept with. I'm breaking up my t I eighty two. I feel like the math don't math. So we're gonna get to that. Tell us a couple of months ago he was going to be dead. And you know what, there's other athletes that have claimed the same. So we'll talk about some weird shenanigans Brady and Mendoza in the news. We're gonna talk about debates that won't die. But you know what I want to start with, cominof it's cool with you there. There was a promotion last night, yeah, and I thought this is great, And I do want to bring up the conversation of people who live for promotions. My brother's the type of guy that on his birthday he'll go to all the places that give you freebies, like hey Man went to baskeom Robbins and got a free scoop. I went to Chipotle and got a free burrito. Like, doesn't he even go the lengths to get his hair cut, Like he gets his free cut on super cut birthday day. Yeah, he gets like the MVP cut, the MVP cut. It's he's the guy that does it. But last night there was a promotion where if there are a certain number of strikeouts or something, the Reds fans would get free pizza. And the coolest part is that it went to the ABS Challenge.

00:03:44
Speaker 1: Just missed Amias Challenge.

00:03:46
Speaker 3: Kind of worried about Team Older I have talent and call them ball Stevenson's won one tonight. Can he win pizza for those in the stands, the crowd ready to burst.

00:03:57
Speaker 1: That's just.

00:04:00
Speaker 2: So.

00:04:01
Speaker 1: Was it eleven or more strikeouts? Free pizza for everybody?

00:04:04
Speaker 4: Dude?

00:04:05
Speaker 2: So if that was a strikeout on which it was, free pizza for everybody, so congrats. But yeah, the suspense, the theatrics with the ABS sys and that's pretty cool. So free pizza for everybody. You cash in. You're there, you might as well cash in. Well, I'm saying a lot of times it's not at the stadium. But you've seen it with Taco bell. I feel like the Mets would be like, what steal the base stealer Taco. There were things like, uh, hey, if a team does such and such, you get a six inch sub if you know, if the Mets win. Danny you said there's a Panda Express thing, you actually cash it on.

00:04:38
Speaker 3: Oh. Every week, my better half sends me a check saying the Dodgers won at home last night, right, And I'm like, yep. She's like, stop at Panda on your way home.

00:04:46
Speaker 1: What's the deal?

00:04:47
Speaker 3: What do you get? It's a their two entree plate? And I think, normally, what is it rich?

00:04:53
Speaker 1: Like like eleven to twelve bus something like.

00:04:54
Speaker 3: That, and it knocks it down to like seven ninety nine.

00:04:57
Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's pretty significant. It's real safe and hold on. So it's what every time the Dodgers went in home, that will happen about sixty five out of eighty two times. So sorry, Panda, that's not bad. Panda's got deals and a free rangoon. I handa Express. I thought that was a close store for pandas no good man.

00:05:16
Speaker 1: He's here all week.

00:05:17
Speaker 2: Thank you guys. You But are there other things that you've taken advantage of. Like I remember there was a Clippers game Danny reminded me of this where an opposing player missed a free throw on purpose so that the whole crowd can get free chicken.

00:05:31
Speaker 3: It was awesome.

00:05:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is it.

00:05:34
Speaker 2: The Clippers offered a promotion in twenty twenty four where fans would receive a free Chick fil A Chicken sandwich if an opposing player missed two free throws in a row in the fourth quarter and the game was out of reach, and the guy in the other team was like, well, I missed the first one, and he does it obvious, Like I give him credit for having the wherewithal to even do that.

00:05:56
Speaker 1: You think someone tipped him off.

00:05:58
Speaker 2: On it, Like, hey, if you miss it, twenty people get a free chick favorite. Yeah that's not bad. So are you the type to do Look, everybody loves free. Free always tastes better if it's free.

00:06:12
Speaker 1: It's for me. Free is great.

00:06:15
Speaker 2: My girlfriend is also very similar to your brother in the sense that like Starbucks does that right, if you're a member of their app, you put their points or whatever. On your birthday, you get a free coffee. And I don't think there's a limit on it any size you want, so have fun.

00:06:30
Speaker 1: So she does that, So enjoy your freebies.

00:06:34
Speaker 3: It was Boban Maranovitch, by the way, it was Boban.

00:06:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a better amount of people, so man of the folks. Yep, that's funny. Hey, enjoy your your free pizza Cincinnati. Now, last night Nick's.

00:06:49
Speaker 1: Winning at Home. Did we expect them to win a couple in a row and get back in this Yes, last night I watched that.

00:06:53
Speaker 2: I watched the Hulk Hogan documentary, which was fantastic, really good. I got a little bit left from the last episode. I started getting sleepy. But what a great episode. And you're right, Danny g. You think you know everything about.

00:07:05
Speaker 1: The Haulkster Brothers.

00:07:06
Speaker 2: We lived it, and you know there's so much documented about Hulk Hogan, but you still learn a lot and you learn how Linda felt first time seeing him naked, Like good Linda, Yeah, she's all horned up Linda Hogan for being his ex wife. That it didn't end well. Towards the end, she was very complimentary. What was the quote She's like, it's like who wanted want to sleep with it? Like, what do you call him a giant, like a giant, a giant, my goodness. Yeah, I know, move over, raj. Wow, your kids might be watching. But it is so weird too. Danny g like watching this and then being reminded like, oh, yeah, he died, Like oh, that's so sad man. Sometimes you forget. Yeah, they'll see a highlight of Ricky Henderson in your Oh he died, I forgot.

00:07:47
Speaker 3: And then the politics stuff at the end of it just interesting. The very end of his journey was interesting.

00:07:52
Speaker 2: That that's on Netflix if you want to check that out. But yeah, there was some great basketball props to the Knicks and bigger props to the Spurs. By the way, No doubt stood out too. And you saw the highlight too. See I watched highlights on Sports Center. Rich does not. I watch them on my phone. I love Gary Schreisk But you know, I got stuff doing. Is you know, Wemby makes this sick play and then his dad is They're like not giving a Diddley squad. Yeah of course, Yeah, I just didn't see it. I didn't have commentary on.

00:08:18
Speaker 1: No No, so yeah.

00:08:19
Speaker 2: But the fun story is like much like the Hulk Hogan generation of parents, like his parents It's funny because Rich pointed this out earlier today on our Patreon that whole generation really seek their father's approval. There's so many dudes that we looked up to, and what really drove them was seeking their father's approval because like Hulk Holgan's dad, how many he loved them?

00:08:42
Speaker 1: How many sports documentaries have you watched? About? Many?

00:08:46
Speaker 2: About again, essentially it's boomers, right, It's the boomer generation, guys that are sixty seventy something years old, where their dads, which are like the World War Two greatest generation, old timey time guys that generation apparently never told their sons they loved them, where they're proud of them because I've seen one too many documentaries about some superstar baseball player, football player, wrestler where it's like all I wanted was my dad to love me.

00:09:09
Speaker 1: You know.

00:09:10
Speaker 2: It does feel good though, because yesterday after the show, not that I had anything to do with it, but my dad did say, hey, that big poppy, that was funny, man, that was funny. So getting a compliment, and like any old school dad is like whoa.

00:09:24
Speaker 1: You followed up with? Really did you mean it? I was like, do you love me? Dad? Do you really love me?

00:09:31
Speaker 2: And you know, it just made me think of that because it's always such a common theme. And last night when ben Yama makes this sick play and dad is sitting there with his arms fold and mean mugging, not caring at all, Not that he's not proud of his dad, but some old school dads are just so emotionless. Isn't it pretty funny how we now in turn we over over love our kids, like we totally like Danny g how often are you like kissing and hugging and like telling your kid how much you love.

00:09:59
Speaker 3: Him, how great they are twenty times a day.

00:10:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, like you probably have kissed Coha and given him more love than like our dad's generation their whole life.

00:10:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right. And the other thing we were talking about the other day was think about the photos, Like I think I have maybe five pictures of myself when I was little. Brenda and I counted the other day we probably take an average of fifty to sixty pictures a day.

00:10:23
Speaker 2: It seems like on yourhot it probably says twenty two thousand voters during every meal and every bath time.

00:10:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so funny.

00:10:30
Speaker 2: And you know, the Hulk Holgan documentary too, And I don't want to spoil anything.

00:10:35
Speaker 1: If you haven't seen it. I think we lived it. Guess what he turned bed one time? No no, no, no.

00:10:39
Speaker 2: But he didn't get his dad's approval. His dad, you think, Hulk Holgan, you forget he's Italian Terry Belaya, right, So his dad's this old school Italian dude, short Italian direction construction blue collar guy. His dad really never you know, tells him he loves him. He's sort of disappointed in the Hulkster because he wanted Hulk Holgan to go to college, and Hulk Hogan was, you know, playing in a rock band. He became a wrestler. It doesn't happen until Hulk Hogan sells out Madison Square Garden and performs at the Garden his first time and wins the belt, until his dad finally says, like.

00:11:12
Speaker 1: Hey, you did a goot to job. Hey, you know, come in and give me a hug. Oh, that's the first time he showed any effects, the.

00:11:19
Speaker 3: First time his dad understood that he was a big success.

00:11:22
Speaker 2: Is that why all that Hulk Hogan. He's in stallone movies. Yeah, he's selling at the garden. His dad was trying to like not to bed, not too bed. Kid come in and uh, last night, like I said, we saw that with Gamas dad. I'm sure Wenby's dad is super proud and maybe they just caught a moment. It did go viral where dad was. Everyone else was like, whoa dad? Did not look him pro now? But I'm saying nowadays, what do they say? The juxtaposition, the difference. Now you see a guy get his first major league got bad or you know, you see like Carlos, Carlos Mendoza, wroung Mendoza.

00:11:57
Speaker 1: That's the weakass one, Fernando Mendoz.

00:12:00
Speaker 2: You see his beautiful family get all emotional like we we now LEAs see dad's crying in the stands in the sports world at the time, in the sports world, I guess to tie up this conversation, we went from a generation begging for their dad to be like, I'm proud of your son. You're right, what did you say, dad, Dad? Dad's weeping in the stands. It seems like every success story that we got to witness was all motivated by a dad who didn't love.

00:12:26
Speaker 1: Their son enough.

00:12:27
Speaker 2: Because every documentary we watched about our heroes I was like, oh, Dad never told me he loved me.

00:12:32
Speaker 1: I mean, that's what motivates.

00:12:33
Speaker 2: I mean, I could be making some of these up, but I feel like everyone from Hulkogin.

00:12:36
Speaker 1: To Nolan Ryan to any any any documentary, it all comes back.

00:12:40
Speaker 2: My dad was a tough guy and never really showed his emotions like that was the stoic generation. Romar owed him recently. Right, His dad wasn't there, had this chip on his shoulder. But his dad only showed up when he thought he died and he wanted a cash. Shit.

00:12:55
Speaker 1: That was the only time his dad showed up. So he always fought for that approval.

00:12:59
Speaker 2: It was like every documentary we see. So anyway, the theme continues, and that being said, your dad, Hey, you know, if you get Doug your dad, give them a call and just a reminder that and enjoy the Hulk call thing.

00:13:09
Speaker 1: It's really the Hulk documentary is great.

00:13:11
Speaker 3: What if our dads don't deserve a hug, you know what.

00:13:14
Speaker 1: You know what, give him a hug? Anyway?

00:13:15
Speaker 2: The only live once but Dad's am I right? And number two NBA playoffs are heating up now tonight, Danny g Before we move on to other stuff, what is your instinct? Did the Lakers just stomp?

00:13:27
Speaker 5: Is it?

00:13:27
Speaker 2: Did they end to tonight at home? And is the Reindeer games over? We are we going to just finish?

00:13:32
Speaker 3: It feels that way. Lebron got a little bit of rest, and you know they it didn't seem like their hearts were fully into that last game and it was Houston, Yeah, because then they would have had to speed up the process of going into the wood chip or that is OKC. So yeah, it feels like without KD on the floor, I still think the Rockets are going to keep this game close though.

00:13:53
Speaker 2: I mean, listen, they were one game away from each other in the regular season.

00:13:57
Speaker 1: What about And.

00:13:58
Speaker 3: By the way, if Reeves get back the flow of things, that's gonna be the issue right there. Is he gonna be rusty? Is he gonna throw off the way the offense has looked with Lebron leading things. So keep your eye on that.

00:14:09
Speaker 2: And the Pistons double digit favorites tonight at home. I wonder if that's a good prop bet to make that the Pistons went three in a row. Do you do you believe that that is a real possibility? I know you said you see some some you know, some weaknesses that the Pistons might have in a seven game series.

00:14:30
Speaker 3: Man, really great defense, they just have trouble scoring, you know, after Kate Cunningham, they don't have a big score there to back him up. So that's that's a tall order right there. And then look at how talented that Magic team is.

00:14:43
Speaker 4: Man.

00:14:44
Speaker 3: Ben Carro's been ripping it up and you've seen what Bain has been doing from the three point line. So the Magic are a great story going into the rest of the playoffs here.

00:14:53
Speaker 2: And if you are unaware, Magic are up three games to one over the Pistons. You got the Raptors Calves, they're tied to two, and like we said, Lakers looking to close it out three to one over the Rockets. Reeves back if that goes down, because you know what, I don't know if he's started. Did they announce if he's starting or not, because I didn't see that. I know that he's expected to play. But if they take an early leader, they're looking good without him, Why risk him this series? If it looks like they could close it out and let him rest a little more.

00:15:20
Speaker 3: dB, it sure feels like he'd come off the bench for sure, Yeah.

00:15:23
Speaker 6: The only thing I would just say to that is I think they just want to give him reps and this would be the opportunity to do so.

00:15:29
Speaker 3: So yes, for what would be.

00:15:31
Speaker 6: A future series, because in the report that says Reeves is going to play tonight from Shams, they said for the Lakers win Luka, Doncic wouldn't be ready to come back for the start of so he would at least miss the start of that series against Oklahoma City. So yeah, I think they'd want to get the rust off, and that's probably why he would have a limited workload tonight.

00:15:51
Speaker 1: Makes sense.

00:15:52
Speaker 2: And I think the Cavs one would assume that, you know, they're letting the Raptors hang around here.

00:15:59
Speaker 3: It seems like the one series that not everybody's paying attention to.

00:16:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say, like, I think we all thought the Cavs would sort of move along to Round two. And that's that's too too. They are like double digit favorites at home in Game five. But nonetheless, NBA playoffs, I told you, Danny, you had to start paying attention the regular season press. The regular season, I told you, is like a lazy partner in the bedroom. The playoffs are like, Ooh, that's what you're capable of. Okay, speaking of Lebron and speaking of how they're gonna gel and how it's gonna work with Rehe's bank and everything. There was a story that Draymond green said, this could very well be the end of Lebron.

00:16:33
Speaker 1: He could retire right now.

00:16:36
Speaker 2: And yeah, but when people say he would very well set up a farewell tour.

00:16:40
Speaker 1: That, well, that's the flip side of it.

00:16:41
Speaker 3: I mean, well, there was a report last week though that someone close to Lebron said he's not interested in a tour.

00:16:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, like maybe we got it all wrong, Like maybe he wants to play the humble card and say.

00:16:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, you had me all wrong all along.

00:16:56
Speaker 2: I don't need all that, this whole thing with my son, that this has been my farewell. I got everything I wanted. You know, maybe we're overthinking that and maybe he doesn't want to do that. Because Draymond Greene's pretty close to Lebron. They were just on what's it called? What's that new show called? With Anthony Davis Blooper's.

00:17:15
Speaker 3: Show, the show.

00:17:16
Speaker 2: They're friendly, they're friends, So he must know a little something that he could retire right now for all we know, and there's a lot of talk. Yeah, there's a lot of talk to today about you know, the Jordan comparisons again, because that debate never goes away, especially the way that Lebron's been playing in this series. Like man, if you had a doubt of who the goat is, you got to make a case.

00:17:39
Speaker 1: For Lebron and what he's doing.

00:17:41
Speaker 2: And that got us thinking about debates that just will never go away because we all know that in sports that is probably the number one most tired debate that ever was and ever will be, and it will never die. I'm not quite sure that there's a close number two.

00:17:57
Speaker 1: I do I think there is a number two.

00:17:59
Speaker 4: No, I.

00:18:01
Speaker 1: Don't. I think it died though. I think.

00:18:05
Speaker 2: Lebron MJ is the most tired sports debate and I'm I'm going to tell you that I don't even think there's one that is close, like whatever to wait?

00:18:14
Speaker 3: Wait is it? Is it really tired?

00:18:16
Speaker 7: Though?

00:18:16
Speaker 3: Rich because all of us have stayed away from it because of your feelings that you just said, when's the last time you heard a legitimate show actually jump in and do that as a topic ten years ago?

00:18:26
Speaker 1: It was definitely raging.

00:18:29
Speaker 2: At you put on esp A. You know it's here's the theory. You ever like not watch a show, but every time you put it on, it's the same episode.

00:18:39
Speaker 1: Why is rerun tape and the Dobie Brothers again, there's a by the way. There's a reason for that is because they're highly rated episodes.

00:18:45
Speaker 2: The Little Trotters on Gilligan's Islands, they're tested well, so they keep replaying them. But it's like, man, I never watched Jesse, and every time I put it on, it's the same episode every time, like I'll throw on a first take type of show. I do feel like they're talking about out Lebron and Jordan again, I do feel that way. Well, I always feel like those shows during down season, like during like slow times in sports, do go to that well quite a bit.

00:19:11
Speaker 1: So the question here is what.

00:19:12
Speaker 3: I got it, and I got to say really quick. ESPN just did it because they talked to Lebron about it, and I sent you guys a clip of this everywhere. Well he said, yeah, Lebron says, very tiring conversation and barber shop talk.

00:19:25
Speaker 2: Well, he knows all about the shop and it doesn't go away, it will never die. And if he were to retire and going out like this, the way he's playing it just adds to his side of the story. So based on that, are there other debates and other things conversations you think that will never die? Classics time to hit us up at eight seven seven ninety nine, O Fox the Second.

00:19:46
Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, I'm.

00:19:48
Speaker 2: Not indulging in this Lebron Michael Jordan's no, no, no, We're not having it. Buddy Kelvin from the Odd Couple, Kevin Washington, the Kelvin that's my.

00:19:57
Speaker 1: Dude, I love.

00:19:57
Speaker 2: Kelvin was saying were we were saying how in sports father Time is undefeated, and I jokingly said, well, father Time's undefeated, but I feel like Lebron's taking Father Time fifteen rounds like old school heavyweight fights, Like Lebron is showing no signs of like yo, he's done. He because he has the ability to still show those moments. And Kelvin was saying, if Lebron did retire, could you consider he beat Father Time, meaning he walked away at forty something years old and again never slipped. Yeah, would would that be beating Father Time in sports?

00:20:29
Speaker 3: Especially if he wins a round of the playoffs that nobody predicted him being able to do without Luca and Rete.

00:20:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, what's up? dB, Hey Dan?

00:20:39
Speaker 6: Okay, I get the playoff series, but I mean Durant's been out for I mean, so it's you know what I mean?

00:20:48
Speaker 1: I got you?

00:20:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but I understand what you're saying.

00:20:50
Speaker 1: By the way, the.

00:20:52
Speaker 2: Second half of that saying, and we learned this from Steve Harvey, not the name drop, but father time is undefeated.

00:21:00
Speaker 1: Oh, I don't forget to grow mustache.

00:21:01
Speaker 2: No, However, there's honor in the fight, and you know, you gotta respect what Lebron has done as far as fighting back and keeping himself in shape and man and still playing at a high level even at this age. Old guy on the court is still a young guy in life. But based on that debate and what Lebron had to say about it, what are some other you could say, tired debates that are never retired, on timeless debates, And I would say this, I would I would say, growing up in the era we grew up. Oh, save it. I got two of them, you know what, save it? Okay, fine, and let us know next. I want everyone to see if they could predict what you think the second and third tired and timeless. They got number two and number three one is sports. I think I know one of them. I don't know about the other. So eight seven seven Rich, one of them boobs or ass?

00:21:58
Speaker 3: Is it?

00:22:00
Speaker 1: How'd you know? Okay, because I'm thinking of what you would think?

00:22:03
Speaker 2: Not a moment to ask guy. But then I was a boom guy. But then the timeless yet tired debates and Rich.

00:22:09
Speaker 8: You're a lot calmer now, but before the show started you were mumbling yourself angrily about this Lebron Michael debate. I actually caught you on a hot mic.

00:22:16
Speaker 1: Why won't you die? That's crazy? You're so fired up. I won't go away.

00:22:22
Speaker 2: So we'll take your feedback next at COVID on Rich and eight seven seven nine nine on Fox?

00:22:26
Speaker 1: What are the debates? Were you like?

00:22:28
Speaker 3: Really?

00:22:28
Speaker 1: Again? We'll take your feedback next.

00:24:46
Speaker 2: You know, I just brought this whole discussion full circle. I'm gonna make it all make sense. Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio Live from the Fox Sports Radio studio and speaking to Lebron and Yeah, all the games the NBA Playoffs are here and DraftKings Sportsbook is an official sports betting partner of the NBA, and right now use Promo code cr Show to claim your special offerings at Draftkanks again as Promo Code cr Show at Draftkanks, the crown is yours. We talked about a couple double digit dogs tonight the NBA playoffs.

00:25:19
Speaker 1: What do you like the home teams to just dominate.

00:25:24
Speaker 2: Cleveland dominate tonight? Yeah, I would say so, Detroit dominate, Detroit, win at home, make it the Troit wins it at home three to two, and the Lakers close it out. That's the prediction for now. And speaking of the Lakers, lots of Lebron talk. Okay, the conversation isn't about Lebron, but remember I said, I'm gonna make it all make sense. You know, we're talking about the Halkster and Wemby and his dad's approval and all these guys playing for their dad's approval.

00:25:56
Speaker 1: You do believe me, don't you?

00:25:58
Speaker 2: Dad Buxton's on off thieves pee weee. Don't you feel like even Lebron James plays for not necessarily his dad's approval, but it's almost the same. He plays for like Jordan's approval. Because when they talk about his retirement and the Jordan Lebron debate, not only did Lebron say that's tired barbershop talk, he also said he does hope that he made Jordan proud in the process. He hopes he made the number twenty three proud. He hopes he made Jordan proud. And it's almost like, geez, is Jordan Ever really going to acknowledge him the way he wants to be acknowledged? Well, Jordan Ever really embraced the greatness that Lebron did be stolen upon the number in the legacy?

00:26:43
Speaker 1: Do you guys watch Shrinking on Apple TV?

00:26:46
Speaker 3: Dude? One of the greatest shows on TV right now.

00:26:48
Speaker 2: One of the greatest shows in the last twenty years. Danny if he asked me the whole narrative, not to be spoiler guy, but like Jason Siegel's approval for Harrison Ford to be like, you do a great job. I'm proudy, you know, like even if it's not your real dad, Like, there's like that approval you want. Lebron wants that Jordan approval so bad. Danny, g do you have the actual quote, because there's a reason you're seeing all this Lebron coverage today. I mean, yeah, he's killing it in the playoffs and they play tonight, but there's a lot of talk about Lebron and Jordan.

00:27:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, Lebron retiring Lebron.

00:27:20
Speaker 3: As far as the comparison, he said, I never have compared myself to MJ because our games are totally different. True, So with that, he was saying, I do certain things really well, Michael did things better than me, and vice versa. As far as making MJ proud, he said, I hope I made him proud at least wearing that number twenty three.

00:27:39
Speaker 2: So it is very similar to like seeking that sort of approval. And you know, one day, I do think Jordan will give it to him the way he wants, right, the way he wants, at least I hope for Lebron's sake. But that poses the other thing. Will the debate of Jordan and Lebron ever go away? Because we all agree that's the number one one timeless and tired conversation and debate of all time.

00:28:03
Speaker 1: Timeless and tide.

00:28:04
Speaker 2: In fact, I wonder until there's another guy, until it's a Wemby or someone else that starts piling up their rings, is is that the debate that will be.

00:28:13
Speaker 1: Going on forever?

00:28:14
Speaker 3: Oh there's a new Wemby debate that bubbled up today because what Shaq said last night, he said, Wemby is the first perfect center and the first perfect big man.

00:28:24
Speaker 1: Let's hear Shaq say it.

00:28:25
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Wemby is the first perfect big man as I've created. Can shoot free throws, play defense, play offense. He's a great team player. I'm happy for the Spurs. I'm happy for.

00:28:38
Speaker 2: Wendy and Lebron sitting around waiting for Michael to say something like that about him.

00:28:45
Speaker 1: Exactly.

00:28:46
Speaker 2: No, you're dead on you know what Shaq didn't say. No, Like, how about his handle? He hands the ball like a point guard man, Like he's got some real ball handling skills, and he plays like a smaller guy and he's over seven foot tall.

00:28:58
Speaker 1: So it's a credible compliment.

00:29:00
Speaker 2: But are there other debates that are right up there with tired yet timeless? I think the number tier's my number two and number three. Oh, someone speculate Ginger versus Marian? Who'd you rather?

00:29:11
Speaker 1: That's a good one. That is a good one.

00:29:12
Speaker 2: All right, So we'll take your phone calls at eight seven, seven ninety nine one Fox, This is off the dome, Like Harry Mack. The first two that come to mind for me Tyson and Ali, which I feel like it dwindled because the more we got to know Tyson, and the longer he stuck around, the more we forget about how invincible he was. At one point, Yeah, fritious late eighties, early nineties, Tyson versus Ali was truly a great debate.

00:29:40
Speaker 1: Yo, who do you think would win in a fight? Tyson or Ali?

00:29:43
Speaker 2: That was like such a big part of our childhood, Tyson to Ali, Who's the greatest of all time? But then Tyson became a caricature of himself and like, yeah, now I smoke weed and I'm everywhere, I'm fighting Jake Parr and maybe I have a podcast. You forget that he was that dominant, so that I went away. But I know that up there to this day, I was not alive to see a Lee fight, but I watched all his great fights, so we know he's the greatest of all time the way because he said it, the way we all watched old film.

00:30:11
Speaker 1: I watched every old Ali fight.

00:30:12
Speaker 2: But there's a part of me that will always forever believe that there was that little window of time where I don't think a human being in the history of the world could have beat Mike Tyson. There was like a there was a two year window where Mike Tyson was so ferocious. I don't think another fighter in the history of fighting could have beat ferocious. Early twenty something year old had trouble with boxers and fast boxers, and Ali was that type of guy, ilick fast boxer. So that was one that was in the realm of Jordan and Lebron and the other one that comes off the top of the head, probably because of relevance.

00:30:48
Speaker 1: Right now, what's the number one movie in theaters?

00:30:51
Speaker 2: Michael, Yeah, the he he Man, And people always love to compare him to Prince and I'm like, get at it down.

00:30:58
Speaker 1: That's that's like trans and Gobots. I'm like, yeah, you had a.

00:31:05
Speaker 2: Shoes, right, it's like Nirvana or Pearl Jam It's like Michael or Prince. Dude, no disrespont. Then it's a legend. But Michael Jackson was such a bigger star. Prince a bigger a better musician, right, But as far as stardom, Michael Jackson was the guy. But people still love to debate that, I mean, because they're both great. You said something recently that I thought it was wild when you said it, and then I thought more about it, and I think you're right. Caavino said Michael Jackson might be the most famous human since Jesus Christ to ever popular, And I gotta make I wasn't comparing them as people. You're saying pure popularity. I thought about name a more famous human human than Michael Jackson. In the eighties, every worldwide, mono culture, everybody loved them. Right, I know what I thought we're gonna say when you say great debates. I'm still trying to perfect the moonwall.

00:31:57
Speaker 1: I think we're gonna say pineapple on pizza.

00:31:59
Speaker 2: Yes, that's you know what, dude, You know what? Such a tired and timeless the bag. I mean another one doesn't go she's a ranch. How about if you live in Jersey, is it pork Crawl or Taylor Ham. That's one that just never goes away. How about our player softer now than they used to?

00:32:14
Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I know Rich Davis is not going to want to hear this, but I think Princess Die and Queen Elizabeth were more popular than Michael Jackson.

00:32:21
Speaker 2: No way, Yes, I disagree that Michael Jackson. You could go to a you could go to no pane.

00:32:28
Speaker 1: You're talking worldwide, worldwide. You don't want jungle where people had nothing, They'd be like, oh, that's Michael Jackson.

00:32:34
Speaker 3: How about a NFL debate We used to hear Mahomes versus Brady.

00:32:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Brady the goat is a good one, right, Like I mean, people will say, like, well, much like Jeter. People love to credit the system and the circumstances for guys like Jeter and and Brady.

00:32:49
Speaker 1: Right, without a doubt.

00:32:51
Speaker 2: Princess dies a good one, Danny Dan Bayer. It always comes up Princess died.

00:32:54
Speaker 1: But I don't like to because I don't.

00:32:56
Speaker 2: I think Michael Jackson was loved by everyone around the world.

00:33:00
Speaker 1: People were faint. Do you really care about Princess Diana?

00:33:03
Speaker 3: Well, that's this.

00:33:04
Speaker 6: This is the audience that I'm dealing with, Folks like these, this royal hater right here.

00:33:08
Speaker 1: But I don't like what I'm gonna say this.

00:33:13
Speaker 3: You're too young. I think you're too young.

00:33:16
Speaker 2: The only royal family that Rich cares about is uh, George Bretts.

00:33:21
Speaker 1: I care about. I care about the Saber Higgins.

00:33:24
Speaker 2: I care about No, seriously, honestly, Because you guys.

00:33:28
Speaker 6: Liked Thriller, you guys are thinking he's the most famous person ever.

00:33:32
Speaker 1: He was the most famous.

00:33:34
Speaker 6: He was, absolutely but I'm just saying, like you're talking about rivals.

00:33:40
Speaker 2: I was in college when Princess Diana died, and I remember like a couple of people like, oh my god. I'm like, yeah, let's go back to the keg stand like it affected my mother greatly.

00:33:48
Speaker 8: She had a shrine of Princess Prince. She had a shrine a Princess Dinah before she died.

00:33:52
Speaker 1: Before it broke by people.

00:33:54
Speaker 2: How many people had posters of any of the royal family in their home. My mom had China like dishes with Princess Donadud. We're talking like face of pandemonium. Pandemonium people think Michael at a glimpse of Michael up Sam.

00:34:10
Speaker 6: He already cares, but he's on my side for like ninety five percent of it. And then he reels over to the other lane. You know, Oh, we hate that. It's so annoying.

00:34:20
Speaker 2: So we go to the phones. Other timeless but tired debates start thinking about it. We get to your phone calls after the great dan Byer's update, what's up, d don't.

00:34:29
Speaker 6: Start kissing up now, Cave. You know I'm at you too.

00:34:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, the ageless and Handsome Austin timeless shut up, Sam, I'm.

00:34:38
Speaker 6: Doing the updates, Dan Byer, We're already forty one after the hour.

00:34:42

00:36:05
Speaker 2: DVD B thank you my friend. All right, we got all your phone calls.

00:36:08
Speaker 1: Zac. Phones are the phones are hot, man, They're lit. They they're so little.

00:36:14
Speaker 2: Tired yet timeless debates and if you have answers to some of them, I mean, what do we say some of the other hilarious lame ones like blue cheese or rich or pineapple on pizza, or is Tom Brady the goat?

00:36:24
Speaker 1: Or you know what a good one?

00:36:26
Speaker 2: Is could the this is the worst one because it's so obvious the worst NFL team member, it's always could the best college team compete with the worst NFL team?

00:36:35
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's all.

00:36:37
Speaker 2: That's a dumb one and it never goes away. So we'll get to all that and more next. Right here can be on Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Who you know what the debate is nowadays? Who was bigger in their time? Taylor Swift today or Michael Jackson? And even that one, I'm like, get out.

00:37:02
Speaker 1: Of my face. It's Michael Jackson.

00:37:04
Speaker 2: You guys argue that I know, but it's closer than you think. The answer is Michael. But when you see people in foreign country still in parking lots of sold out stadiums, Taylor Swift is know Michael Jackson as far as that level of popularity, but not as far away as you think. But these are tired but timeless debates that will never go away because there's so much Lebron talk today about possible retirement, could he retire? Draymond Green is also saying, Hey, we could be seeing the last of it. It's very possible. He spoke about hoping he made the number twenty three proud for Michael Jordan. It's like that debate is never going to go away, Jordan or Lebron. So we ask you and we wrap it up with your phone calls. At eighty seven seven ninety nine on Fox, we are live from Fox Sports Radio Studio and it's time for a tirect play of the day. Bring on the Nuggets or the Wolves Sippers advance, Bring on the Nuggets to the singing round, Wesley.

00:38:14

00:38:38
Speaker 3: All right, Paul and Illinois has a great one.

00:38:40
Speaker 1: All right, let's go Paul.

00:38:42
Speaker 2: Hey, guys, lovey, thank you man, love that you listen.

00:38:46
Speaker 7: What's up, Oh, Pete Rose Hall of Fame or not?

00:38:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, that is that's a good way. Let me tell you.

00:38:55
Speaker 2: I've forever been on the side of Hall of Fame, same Hall of Famer say, I don't know this.

00:39:00
Speaker 1: You know why, because there's a there's like a.

00:39:06
Speaker 2: I don't know, a soft side, a soft what part of our hearts that want them in there? For our generation? I think especially, I mean I think they should all be in the Hall of Fame. Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Mark Maguire. They defined the generation. I mean, even if you have to put it a separate hallway in the in the Hall of Fame wing, like a separate wing, like theaters, like like no, the the nineties generation the most cliche thing. But if you can't tell the story without them, right, that's what they say. That's how you qualify as a Hall of Famer. You have to have the stats, but you can't tell the story of the decade with Adam or the story.

00:39:38
Speaker 1: Of baseball without them. They're in the Hall of fame.

00:39:41
Speaker 2: That would include the steroid era and of course Pete Rose, but somewhere else maybe to make it fair, I'm with you, that never goes away. Well, speaking of the rocket, you know, today is the forty year anniversary of when Roger Clemens through a twenty strikeout game.

00:39:55
Speaker 1: Amazing? Is that crazy? Let's go back to the phones. Who we got down all right? Is in sarahcuse Brock.

00:40:01
Speaker 7: Hey, how's it going, guys? I think we're missing a very obvious one here, the greatest athlete this world has ever seen. And let Lionel Messi against Christiano Ronaldo. I think people liked to ham that one up there, but I think it's a pretty one sided race there.

00:40:16
Speaker 2: So I think when you said greatest athlete, I thought you were going to be in that. You said you're from the QUS. I think you're gonna be like Jim Brown, Jim Bo Jackson.

00:40:24
Speaker 4: There.

00:40:24
Speaker 1: You know who is the Who's He's.

00:40:26
Speaker 2: Right though, Ronaldo and Messi, and I think you're insinuating that Messi is clearly the answer.

00:40:30
Speaker 1: But that's always the debate, right.

00:40:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, really quick, let's go to Missouri.

00:40:35
Speaker 5: Kyle Hey, Kyle, Hey, I got a couple here. It comes around every four years with the ninety two Dream Team that beats the current era Olympic team and uh Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo.

00:40:51
Speaker 2: Superintend those Siga Genesis. That's a great I mean, these are great ones. I think, uh, I think the current players would beat the dream Team, but that's just because we evolve as a human species and are faster, stronger, and bigger.

00:41:04
Speaker 1: But again, these are hard debates to have.

00:41:07
Speaker 2: Rich and I always debate which was better Bases Loaded or rb I Baseball Bases Loaded.

00:41:15
Speaker 1: Buyer the perspective of the picture.

00:41:16
Speaker 3: No, rb I reached for his headphones.

00:41:26
Speaker 2: Quick faces Loaded had great graphics, But as far as gameplay, RBI is one of the greatest games that I'm gonna win Dan Buyer back ready. My favorite sports game though, was Techmo super Bowl, which people are stupid called super tech bo Ball. Now you're kissing a hand.

00:41:44
Speaker 3: There we go.

00:41:45
Speaker 2: It is, well, yeah, we got more c n R next right here,
