Speaker 3: Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

00:01:05
Speaker 2: Welcome back Hour number two. Condek you Sports Radio Ryan Drew Shannon Mario's run around here somewhere eight five nine two eighth two two eight seven. That's the Clark's pumping shot. Phone number. Our Avis a Glass text machine number.

00:01:15
Speaker 4: Is Drew eight five or excuse me, five oh two yes, seven yes, thirty five thirty six eighty.

00:01:22
Speaker 2: There you go, five o two seven thirty five thirty six eighty. Easy to remember. Just rolls off the tongue. But we have breaking news from the NFL. Shannon running no No, our NFL expert Drew Franklin now with breaking news regarding the NFL.

00:01:36
Speaker 4: I work for the league around. Don't forget uh slightly breaking. We should have mentioned this with the Bengals the Burrow injury, but man, Cincinnati fans gonna be looks like could be three months without Joe Burrow and turf toe surgery. That guy has to get away from Cincinnati Bingles fans. I love you, I know you love him. I know it's been fun, but for the for for Joe Burrow, please get him where he can be taken care of. The poor Bingles. I didn't think they had a cart to wheel them off. Yesterday. They're getting clowned on the internet because there's footage of Burrow in the back, barefoot, just walking on concrete. That that organization. You got a two hundred and fifty million dollar player, and I don't even think they got a John Deere rolling back to get his X race.

00:02:18
Speaker 2: How can they not have a golf cart running around in that stadium? They could help him get through the concourse walking around barefoot. So Shannon and I were asking, like, what the heck is turf toe? It occurs when the ligament under the big toe is hyper extended. So what happens when the toe is forced to bend upwards? And he's gonna have surgery and he's out for three months? Bingles fans Somewhere Paul is crying, I.

00:02:43
Speaker 3: Don't think the season will matter by the time he comes back. Well, they got to go three months without Joe Burrow and they got they got the win yesterday.

00:02:50
Speaker 4: Yeah, two and zero. I mean, you're excited about that offense in a big year after he kind of didn't reach your expectations last season, and then here it's been two games and you don't have Burrow.

00:03:02
Speaker 2: It's from the Avision Glass text machine I love you guys, but my buddies and I have discussed and come to the conclusion you alls hate for McAfee is weird. He's hilarious, and every guy aged twenty to forty loves him.

00:03:15
Speaker 4: Well.

00:03:15
Speaker 2: He's also voted Punter of the Decade by the NFL. Is that right.

00:03:18
Speaker 3: I guess I'm just outside his demographic then, because I don't think he's funny at all. I think he's a big jackass.

00:03:25
Speaker 4: I don't hate McAfee, I said, I think he's pretty go on game day. I just don't like tune in for his show weekly. He's fine. There's a lot of shows I don't listen to.

00:03:34
Speaker 2: Eight five, nine, two two eighty seven is the clarks pumpish out phone number for Kentucky. They some of them pointing out that South Carolina does have Missouri this Saturday. I mean, Missouri is a good football team too, So South Carolina has got a tough one before we go down to Columbia to play down there. I think one of the seasons Columbia had aspirations of maybe trying to get in the playoff talk a little bit obviously. I think it all comes down to their quarterback. Because Sellers is out. They just looked after he left. They looked like they had no idea what's going on on offense.

00:04:04
Speaker 4: Yeah, and Missouri is ranks now. They're undefeated. They won the Border War last week against Kansas, So they're a good Missouri team heading to Columbia. Maybe they can beat up on South Carolina a little more for us.

00:04:17
Speaker 2: The last time I went down to South Carolina, I got punched in the face and my jaw got fractured. So I'm not going to the game. But it is one of the best environments in college football. I mean, I hate to say it, but it was awesome. It was a night game and they are playing Sandstorm and the roosters crowing and it's crazy down there.

00:04:34
Speaker 4: I've never been for football. I've been to several basketball games. I'll admit I enjoy a Columbia trip. I don't know that I would like Sandstorm and the football experience. It's a little much for me, but it's a fun road trip to make it is.

00:04:47
Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So, speaking.

00:04:48
Speaker 4: Of game day experience, we've been very critical of Kroger Field not shy about that. I'm sure they've gotten a lot of emails because the fan base has been very outspoken. I will say it has improved with each week, so it's not like they're just sitting on their hands doing nothing. I don't think Warren Peace did the first game when the music was just atrocious. He did the second and it was better, and then it was even better. Last week they played the do the John Wall song. I know that's basketball. It actually got people on their feet dancing. Maybe revisit that we gotta do anything we can't. Absolutely, just being a night game helped. I know it's Eastern Michigan, but the light set up, it naturally brings out the energy you've been tailgating all day. I thought the the fan surprised me. Of course it wasn't a full house, but even it started pouring rain out of nowhere and not many people left their seat. The students were there most of the game, so Krgerfield still got a long way to go. I'm not crowning it and saying it's a great atmosphere, but to their credit, each week it's gradually getting better.

00:05:45
Speaker 2: It's good to hear you say that because on the postgame show, I think we had like four different callers that said the same thing.

00:05:49
Speaker 4: Okay, man, So I'm not crazy.

00:05:50
Speaker 2: We need to shout out. The atmosphere was better, the environment was better, the music was better. The students even stayed till halftime, even during the rain and everything. So I think it's been an improvement every week so far.

00:06:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, we got a tip the cap. They're trying, honestly part of it. I know a lot of people don't like this. They're just they're playing more rap music, and I know rap music's not for everyone, but that does make the crowd getting and the players are dancing on the sideline. I think that's been a big part of it.

00:06:15
Speaker 5: Well.

00:06:15
Speaker 2: The students can play a big part of that. You know, if they're into the game, if they're engaged, everybody can kind of feed off them a little bit.

00:06:21
Speaker 4: They're still awkward down times that I don't know what you do about. I mean, if I were with them, I'd be like, hey, remember Stevie got loose and just play anything. Yeah, because there's still long periods of everyone looking at each other and there's not much going on and people are on their phones trying to check Twitter. That hasn't gotten better, but the music hasn't improved each week, And then the lights set up really helped.

00:06:42
Speaker 2: You know, I'm a big proponent of the on the jumbo tron. They need to show the students, you know, just get them more engaged and show the students a lot that the Colts game yesterday, I was kind of watching what their JumboTron does.

00:06:52
Speaker 6: You know.

00:06:52
Speaker 2: They do all the stuff, the simbacam, the kiss cam, the dance cam, all this stuff, anything like that to keep the people engaged during a dead ball period when they're not just sitting there looking at their phone.

00:07:02
Speaker 4: And Rob's pretty good about that. They first sport, not as long as breaks, not as many, I get it. But just steal some of the stuff you're doing over there with just putting fans on the screen. And I said this before, fans need to be told what to do. I mean, have like a bit. I mean the Snackwerts cams getting a little played out, but stuff like that, like their bit on the screen. Yeah, that people are a part of.

00:07:25
Speaker 2: Yeah. So it wasn't just a football weekend. It was UK Hall of Fame weekend. Mikayla Epps, Carl Towns, Johns, Josh Hines, Ibby Cheek and Sonya han Han with the six inductees. They were all there for the dinner Friday night. Then there was somebody else special in town Friday night, also for the ceremony.

00:07:47
Speaker 4: Drew Ellen, Cali.

00:07:49
Speaker 2: Perry, Ellen, I think was here. Brad I think Brad was also here.

00:07:53
Speaker 4: Was John here?

00:07:54
Speaker 2: I think John Caliperry was sneaking around Lexington Friday night.

00:07:58
Speaker 4: I know he was. Lots of people had some John cal Perry sidings, had a few friends that actually got to got to hang out with with cal I said this on the pregame show. But I'm I'm gonna be very complimentary of John cal Perry. I've gotten my digs off in my jokes several times and that will continue. But I thought he played Hall of Fame weekend perfectly. He was there for Carl, but he kept a distance where it wasn't about him, because if he had shown up to that ceremony.

00:08:23
Speaker 2: It had been all about him, Abby.

00:08:24
Speaker 4: Cheek, heck Carl. No, it wouldn't have been about any of them. It would have been about John cal Perry showing his face like your kay Mark Pope was there. The news cameras would have sprinted over to him to get the video that whole event would have been the Cal coming back homecoming. I think Brad and Element are you were there? Were they? Were they there? I think they might have gotten not certain about that, but I thought he played it right by not going. But then he had a private party with Carl after to celebrate with Carl, so he was able to be there for Carl but also not be a distraction. So uh, tip of the cap for how Cal handled that coming back. He wore a little too much red. He had like a red T shirt and a red plaid blazer. I feel like we could have worked in a lot of blue for this event, especially since he was laying low. But good on him for doing that.

00:09:04
Speaker 2: I agree we give Cal slack a lot, Shannon, but I think he played it right, kind of just played second fiddle, came in to support Carl, but didn't want to be the story. So havingly his own private little dinner with Carl, send Ellen and Brad to the ceremony. So, Shannon, I really think that's probably the best way we need to compliment him.

00:09:19
Speaker 3: I think in doing that, yeah, be there, but don't make a you know, make it all about yourself. And the fact that I didn't even know that he was there. I read about it about the Hall of Fame induction, but I didn't know that Cal was actually there. So I think that he played it the way he should have.

00:09:33
Speaker 2: And kudos the UK. They scheduled it on the weekend when Jacksonville was playing the Bengals, so Josh hines Ward could be here for it. They were all here, Josh heines Ward, Josh Allen, hines Ward. I love hind Warben. He was the Steelers, Josh Heines Allen. But then this then they announced everybody at halftime. What Josh was not there and Karl wasn't there when they announced everybody at halftime of the game.

00:09:54
Speaker 4: Yeah, the two A listeners, that group got on out. Josh had to get to his game. I don't know what Karl had to do, but it's still good to have him in for a night. And then the other four we haven't mentioned Doug Flynn, right, we gotta include Doug Flynn Flynn, Sorry, Doug, got to include him. But the other four inductee has got their moment at UH at Kroger Fields. It's cool for that. And congratulations to the new class.

00:10:15
Speaker 2: Doug, Doug Flynn, long overdue Heck yeah. The dude won a couple of World Series rings with the Big Red Machine playing, spent like twelve thirteen years in the big leagues. Long overdue, And I said this on the Maybe on Friday. He also was on the basketball team with Adolph rupp at Uk on the freshman team when he came here to start with. So yeah, long overdue Waner for Doug Flynn absolutely eight five two two eight seven. We gotta call Shannon.

00:10:38
Speaker 7: Let's go to Bob and Jamestown.

00:10:40
Speaker 2: Bob, Bob, are you Bob?

00:10:44
Speaker 6: How you doing? Guys? Shannon? And a story about Ringo. He's always I played drums and since junior high and it was always Ringo or either Jiji Baker. And Uh, you're a lucky guy to be able to they catch him this point in his life, like you say, eighty five years old and looking like he's forty. He's a timeless guy.

00:11:05
Speaker 2: That's right.

00:11:05
Speaker 3: Yeah, Wow, I need whatever his skin routine is because he looks very, very young compared to his age.

00:11:12
Speaker 6: Oh man, you're a lucky guy to be able to catch that. Well, listen, good talking to you, guys.

00:11:17
Speaker 2: Bob. Is there anything you've not done? You played the drums. You were an a star athlete. You're a heart throw in high school? What did you not do in high school?

00:11:25
Speaker 6: And I wan't a star athlete?

00:11:27
Speaker 8: No, No.

00:11:29
Speaker 6: Buddy of mine's dad was a football coach at Hamilton Taft High School. But I was always down here at the lake. I just I couldn't handle those summer practices. So I mean, they wanted me bad in football. But now I wasn't going to do that. Of course I didn't. I was down here at the lake. Anyway. It's a beautiful day, and good talking to you all, all.

00:11:51
Speaker 2: Right, Bob, appreciate it. Bob and Bob, Bob and Jamestown. He opened up a line eight five nine two two eighty seven. It's the car's publish off phone number eight five nine two Hito. Cats will take a break, Ryan and Drew, Shannon Mario run around here. Well right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. For those in the podcast, can't hear that song, it's one hot Mama. They're talking about Diego Pavia's mom or Shannon's mom.

00:12:09
Speaker 7: Oh stop it. You always say that about my mom.

00:12:12
Speaker 2: Your mom's a little hot.

00:12:13
Speaker 3: You're not gonna get a date with my mom. She's married, she's taken.

00:12:16
Speaker 7: Sorry.

00:12:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, Yoga Girl wouldn't like that either.

00:12:19
Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't think she would. She might be listening right now.

00:12:21
Speaker 2: You know you shouldn't mean that. Yoga Girl eight five nine eight two eight seven. That's her car's pumpy shop phone number.

00:12:27
Speaker 3: You called me you were sitting there with Yoga Girl, and I said, you said, yoga girls sitting here?

00:12:32
Speaker 7: I say, hey, what's up?

00:12:32
Speaker 4: Yoga?

00:12:33
Speaker 7: Like Yoga was her first name.

00:12:34
Speaker 3: I don't know why I said that, but I've called her Yoga girl so many times I now just call her Yoga for her first name.

00:12:39
Speaker 2: It's her nickname. Yeah, Yoga.

00:12:40
Speaker 7: It's really weird, but.

00:12:41
Speaker 2: I call her girl.

00:12:42
Speaker 7: Yeah.

00:12:44
Speaker 4: Uh, trusting me a nice text on Saturday.

00:12:46
Speaker 2: She was very happy that Drew hosted the pregame show and did a great job, and she was very proud of you. She's like, you know, I want to send Drew a tech tell him he did a good job.

00:12:54
Speaker 4: And I have her saved in my phone as Yoga Girl. So it threw me off a little bit when I was heading to the game and Yoga Girl popped up. But thank you, Yoga Yoga girl.

00:13:03
Speaker 7: Our last name is going to be a girl to Ryan changes to the Lemon so yoga.

00:14:02
Speaker 4: Oh day job got in the way.

00:14:03
Speaker 2: They owe day job duty call. So we're gonna bring Jojo back one of these next couple weeks. That Matt is off, and he's a good guest, he's done the show with us before. But we do have two special guests lined up for tomorrow. Drew Franklin tell us who's coming in tomorrow?

00:14:15
Speaker 4: Yes, very excited about this one. It's a double announcement here. First, I'm going to say that the guests are Field of sixty eight, Rob Dousterro and Jeff Goodman. About that, and it's in person. They are going to be in Lexington to watch Kentucky basketball practice. And I sent Rob a text. I said, Hey, so you're gonna be watching ball, you want to come by the bar and talk a little ball. Absolutely, they're in. We'll have them on tomorrow. We'll go as long as they can, as long as they want to stay. They're excited. They we'll have to send them over to watch the Cats. Unfortunately, we're getting them before they see practice. Okay, so we won't get scooped, but they'll still have plenty to say. Maybe we'll check back in after the practice at that time, but they will be in Lexington. I'm excited about that, and it coincides with earlier this morning we announced that Field of sixty eight now colleagues of KSR website over at on three on three, and.

00:15:01
Speaker 2: So they're your coworkers.

00:15:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll be seeing Rob and Jeff around the break room. I already told him they're on donut duty for the first two weeks. But very exciting stuff at on three headquarters. With Field of sixty eight joining the family, maybe more opportunities to do stuff with them in the future.

00:15:16
Speaker 2: You know, there was a time where a lot of Kentucky fans I don't think, had much good to say about Jeff Goodman. He seemed to be a little anti cow. But I think Jeff Goodman has got back in good graces with the Kentucky fan base. It seems like in the recent years.

00:15:29
Speaker 4: Well, we'll find out tomorrow because I talked to Rob and talked to Jeff. Maybe Rob will show up a by himself. But yeah, ks R Jeff have a bit of a history. Yes, he and Matt have have gone out to eat since then. I have, I've you know, said high to him at games and looking forward to hearing from tomorrow and what they have to say about the basketball team. So comes at a good time with the football by we'll get to here a little bit basketball with practice slowly ramping up over there.

00:15:51
Speaker 2: So we'll be at live at kas Bar tomorrow. Come over and have lunch with us and see Jeff Goodman and Rob Dust and we'll talk a little basketball tomorrow. So good get for you. And then Wednesday we've Lee K Howard, superstar in Lexington Media. He's gonna join us Wednesday at ks Bar. Thursday we're at a remote in Mount Vernon. It's for the Apple Christian Apple Chian Project on Main Street. It's a bank on main Street, right, community Trust Bank or so? Oh, I shouldn't have said that it's a bank on main stain.

00:16:17
Speaker 7: I think it is. I think it is that.

00:16:19
Speaker 2: I thought it was Community Trust Bank on Main Street in Mount Vernon. And then Friday we're at Wild Eggs and the New Wild Eggs in Tates Creek. Breakfast, lunch with the bar, breakfast, lunch and lunch with the bar, Wild Eggs. All right, I forgot to mention the.

00:16:30
Speaker 4: Field of sixty eight the field of sixty eight with their big announcement today, they dropped their basketball preseason top twenty five.

00:16:36
Speaker 2: Oh they did. Yeah, and the Cats are We're gonna.

00:16:39
Speaker 4: Have to we'll talk. Cats are seventh. Not mad about that. But Louisville sixth? Oh, really, we can't have that. Can't have that.

00:16:46
Speaker 2: I mean, Lois Louis is definitely gonna be good. Are they that good?

00:16:50
Speaker 4: Well, tomorrow on the air, we're gonna have them corrected. Okay, they're gonna fix that.

00:16:53
Speaker 2: Who's number one?

00:16:55
Speaker 4: I assume I was trying to pull up the list. I assume perdue. I just knew those two. Yeah, I'll have it. Okay, I'm gonna say Purdue without knowing what they actually did.

00:17:04
Speaker 8: Uh.

00:17:04
Speaker 2: This is on the Avision Glass Tex Machine. I went to the Bourbon and Beyond this weekend. The highlight for me, besides seeing Fish with my dad, his favorite band, and my brother, was seen Shannon the Dude. In my awkward moment of realizing who he was walking by, he was kind enough to high five me. I meant when I said, I love listening to the show and you gotta do a fantastic job. So there you go, Shannon.

00:17:25
Speaker 3: All the bands in your highlight was to see me. Yes, it really had the bonus set low. No, I appreciate everybody who came by. And that's the cool thing about being out there. You got fifty or sixty thousand people walking around every day and you get to meet a lot of uh listeners and it's it's a lot of fun out there.

00:17:40
Speaker 2: Eight five nine two two eight seven. Let's get another phone called Shannon. Who you got go to?

00:17:44
Speaker 8: Don?

00:17:44
Speaker 2: Don go ahead, Don.

00:17:48
Speaker 9: Hey Ryan, Southwest Indiana. Are you aware of two PAC football players committed to the SEC?

00:17:57
Speaker 2: I am not aware of the Pocket Athletic Conference. It's the premier conference in all of college high school sports, which Pike Central High School was a member of. Where are these PAC athletes coming from? Because I guarantee it's not Pike Central High School.

00:18:11
Speaker 9: Harry Chills has got the Goldsberry boy in ruts are committed to Oklahoma and Old Miss Wow.

00:18:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, Harry Chills defending state champs up there in Indiana.

00:18:21
Speaker 9: So yeah, and they got moved to four A this year, so it'd be a little different. But yeah, I'm I'm not a Patriot graduate. I actually uh a little bit to the west of that small school style, but it's uh. They played Apollo a couple of weeks ago when they were like fifty to nothing in.

00:18:41
Speaker 2: It orders appreciate I appreciate the phone I wondered if that no, I didn't know that. I knew that Goldsberry Kid was really good, but appreciate the phone call. Since Shannon, Look, we give we gave my high school shout out. Drew is like busting at the seams of his high school.

00:18:56
Speaker 10: We gave you.

00:18:57
Speaker 2: We gave you time on the pregame show to go talk about for Madisonville Maroons.

00:19:00
Speaker 4: You want to do it again, absolutely, I'll do the full hour on Madisonville.

00:19:04
Speaker 6: You want.

00:19:04
Speaker 2: It's the best talent on earth. Ran Do you know that I did. They were undefeated at this point and just had a big win.

00:19:11
Speaker 4: Huge win, huge win beat Paduca Tillman. It was last Thursday night, so it's been a few days. I don't think we got to mention it on Friday, but shout out to my Maroons. We're not exactly an athletic powerhouse there, but we try hard and we beat Paduca Tillman. Paduca Tim Tillman was on some ridiculous win streak. They got d one commits at every possession. They got money everywhere. I didn't say that, but they might great team and they came into Madisonville and they got that butt kick. So I'm proud of Madisonville. Go Maroons, and at noon today the KSR Top twenty five gets updated.

00:19:45
Speaker 2: They better have Madisonville, and I swear they listen everyone that works at KSR.

00:19:49
Speaker 4: There will be problems when I get to that office later. If Madisonville is not in the top twenty five, we will have a company wide meeting and some people are packing their things and heading home for the last time. If Madisonville's not that top twenty five.

00:20:00
Speaker 2: I'm gonna make a prediction. I bet they still have Paduca Tillman ranked over Madisonville in your top twenty five.

00:20:06
Speaker 4: We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Tillman was third hush Win Madisonville unranked, but very proud of the Maroots out everybody.

00:20:13
Speaker 2: They got like a pipeline for some kids from Chattanooga that have come over there. Right division ie kids.

00:20:18
Speaker 4: They can get them wherever they want, go to all the Tennessee cities. I don't care. Just come to Madisonville and get that butt whooped again if you need to.

00:20:24
Speaker 9: Well.

00:20:24
Speaker 2: After you went on your rant on the pregame show about Madisonville, I got an angry tech from somebody that we did not give the same props recognition to South Laurel High School, who is also four and oh coming out of nowhere. Their new coach, John Hines down there from they sold him from Pulaski County, So we got to give at least South Laurel a little props. They're four and oh also down there.

00:20:44
Speaker 4: Sure we liked the schools that don't have a lot of tradition getting some big wins. Shout out to them too. I just a little closer to Madisonville. I don't even think they've had athletic success since I was on the golf team.

00:20:54
Speaker 2: To be honest, eight five nine two o two two eighty seven. Who's next year? Dennis? Go ahead, Dennis.

00:21:02
Speaker 10: Amic The music to me still sucks out there at the stadium for me because I don't like hip hop, don't care for rap. I'm a classic rock guy, heavy metal guy, and it it really ticks me off. I ain't heard one Aussie tune out there this whole season, and you know, the guy I would have thought at least a band during halftime has played tribute to Austin. So that really that irks me right there.

00:21:33
Speaker 8: And uh.

00:21:35
Speaker 10: It's and I'm also kicked off that UK did not have a minute of silence for Charlie kirk There's a lot of other SEC schools that did, a lot of NFL teams did. The UK and their liberals can not have a minute of silence at the football game for Charlie Kirks.

00:21:55
Speaker 2: That I appreciates the phone call, thank you.

00:21:58
Speaker 4: Uh, there was a vigil on campus for anyone that there was a I mean, if people wanted to attend to the UK did have something.

00:22:05
Speaker 2: That's you know this that's a sensitive topic, maybe can be discussed on a different show.

00:22:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, let's focus on how he wants Auzzy.

00:22:13
Speaker 2: I'm okay with that Crazy Train. That's like one of those stadium songs, Shannon. You know, you know you don't play a lot of aussy, but maybe throw in just that one crazy Train song when you mix it in with it between your rap songs.

00:22:23
Speaker 7: Yeah, I'd be good with that.

00:22:24
Speaker 3: The problem is trying to appeal to everybody you got you know, yep, this person over here is not a fan of rap. This person over here is so, how do you make everybody happy? The answer is you don't, but you can, you know, mix it up a little bit.

00:22:34
Speaker 7: And I don't know.

00:22:34
Speaker 3: I not wasn't at the game on Saturday, so I don't know what music was played. But regardless of what you do, there's gonna be somebody who's going to have a complain about it.

00:22:42
Speaker 2: But apparently the music was overall better.

00:22:45
Speaker 4: It's improving.

00:22:45
Speaker 2: I think every game has gotten better and better and better, so we need to give them least a little tip of the cap.

00:22:49
Speaker 4: Absolutely, I mean for ranking the atmospheres in the SEC still still in that fifteenth range. But you know, we called him out after week one. They got blown up by fans, not just us. They didn't ignore it. They're trying they fact that we've had some replays. Oh yes, somebody did bring that up on the Most Game Show. Now, there were some spots we wanted replay and didn't get them, but they're working them in.

00:23:11
Speaker 2: Yes, not the controversial replays, but you did get a couple.

00:23:14
Speaker 4: Of rebet better gotta compliment them.

00:23:15
Speaker 2: All right, We'll take our break come back at Ozzy going here on Kentucky's sports Radio.

00:23:19
Speaker 4: TJ Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll make them pay.

00:23:23
Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.

00:23:27
Speaker 7: Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:29
Speaker 2: I don't care what you play at Krogerfield, but you have to play this song. This is something we've kind of got from you. You have to play it.

00:23:37
Speaker 7: You could play Ozzie into this.

00:23:39
Speaker 4: Why not?

00:23:40
Speaker 10: You know?

00:23:40
Speaker 2: And you don't have to just play it one time. You can play this song throughout the game. You don't have to hide it and keep just keep till right going to the fourth quarter.

00:23:48
Speaker 1: Play it.

00:23:48
Speaker 4: It does get the people going, Yeah, Jannon's right, it's hard to please the whole crowd. It's actually impossible to please little crowd. Everybody's got a different taste. But grow Street's the one Grow Streets when you magnifies the whole stadium. Who's this sponsored segment? Who's this segment sponsored by Shannon?

00:24:03
Speaker 7: Cornbread? HEMP?

00:24:04
Speaker 3: Go to CORNBREADTHEMP dot Com. You caught me off guard. I didn't know you're gonna go to me here.

00:24:07
Speaker 10: Uh.

00:25:20
Speaker 3: If I were to read this sentence exactly how it reads here, it would say, then head over to Cornbread ten hemp dot com, which is not even the websites cornbreademp dot com to try their infuse shelters, gummies, oils eleven, and more like. There's there's random numbers in the copy. I don't know how they can't figure this out. We don't need letters when we're trying to read it. It's very confusing, but yes cornbredemp dot com promo code KSR.

00:25:44
Speaker 2: We'll go back to the phone lines here in just a second. But we do have some more breaking news from Drew Shanning. Hit the breaking news button running No, no, Drew Franklin not just the NFL expert, also high school football expert. What are your breaking news?

00:25:57
Speaker 4: Oh you want to reveal? Yes? Okay, well it's not out yet, so this might get me in trouble. But I got confirmation that my Maroons are included.

00:26:04
Speaker 2: Yes, in the top twenty five. Yes, the top sixteen. To be specific, where is Paduca Tilman. I didn't ask about Paduca Tillman. I don't I don't want to get my blood pressure up. And we still have twenty five minutes ago.

00:26:16
Speaker 4: But I can exhale knowing that we will be included when it comes out at twelve o'clock. Check that out, Kentucky Sports Radio dot com, Zach Troy. The whole, the whole KSR Top twenty five committee does a great job ranking well, and I'm not a part of it. So when people get mad, don't yell at me.

00:26:31
Speaker 2: On the Avyes and Glass text machine. We got another fan from another school, not Central, is also undefeated as well, never had a football tradition. So you've got a couple. I'll cut for night, Amen, I will too. Good job, good job, well done. A five nine two two eighty seven. Who you got, Shannon.

00:26:44
Speaker 7: Let's go to Terry.

00:26:45
Speaker 2: Terry, go ahead, Terry.

00:26:47
Speaker 6: Yeah, guess.

00:26:48
Speaker 8: First off, I don't know Mario like I know you guys, but I do know this. He does not need to do the mad Jones impression.

00:26:56
Speaker 6: Thank you.

00:26:59
Speaker 8: I compare it to Gouber on Andy Griffith doing carry grant. It's just as bad football wise. This McGowan guy. He reminds me of a Georgia back. How we got that dude, I do not know, but I hope he doesn't get hurt, because that guy is something else. And finally, I know a lot of people pointed to the old miss game is a key game for the season. South Carolina is the one that is gettable. They are reeling. They play Missouri this week. They're gonna get beat again because that's a Missouri, so they're gonna get coming in. We gotta buy They're gonna be coming in off a two game losing streak and they're not really healthy. If we get that, that gives us a two game buffer there with this toff stretch we got coming up. And I'll hang up and listen.

00:27:46
Speaker 2: Thanks, Yes, all right, Terry, appreciate it. Okay, Jo, I wanna put this to you, Mark Stoops over the last eleven years, I think is like, uh, eight and three against South Carolina. It's something. I think it's something like my eight and three in the last eleven games. But Mark Stoops is also not very good at coming off of bye week. Where do you fall in this argument? What's going on this the next for the next game.

00:28:07
Speaker 4: Then, oh boy, you're right about the bye week thing. I haven't even considered that yet. We somehow don't as prepared with two weeks off, a couple week off.

00:28:18
Speaker 2: That's been a occurring theme.

00:28:20
Speaker 4: I agree with color though they are We're getting them at a good time. Kentucky on the road, I mean that's where they've been winning SEC games lately. I mean, keep losing at home, but you had the old miss win last year. You've you broke your your losing streak on the road at South Carolina years ago under Stoops. I think they're going to be in it. I don't think i'll predict a win. I kind of got to see what Sellers is going on and what they do against Missouri, but I'm not writing that game off as a complete loss. The Kentucky's defense took a step backward against Eastern Michigan. I think that was kind of a one off. Brad White, They're gonna They're gonna have a rough couple of weeks heading South Carolina. I think this Kentucky defense is going to keep them in a lot of games. I think they're much better than what we saw, especially on the outside. Some of the tackling here lately. They'll clean that up. I think the defense can be one of the better ones Stoops has had and that that'll have them in outside of maybe the mega powers of the conference. I think Kentucky will have a fight.

00:29:12
Speaker 2: There was that run where Kentucky beats South Carolina like maybe six years in a row, but they've lost the last two, including getting embarrassed last year at Kroger Field by South Carolina.

00:29:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, and I didn't want to gloss over the first point of that call. Seth McGowan, Yes, we need to talk about him. Goodness. So I'm not I'm not a football coach. I played until you played an NFL experts. I played until middle school. Then then I got hit and I was like, yeah, where's the golf clubs? I like those better. But I will say at the media practice we got to go to, I was watching the running backs go through their cones and their bags, just their drills, and you could just see Seth McGowan was like angry just doing drills. You know, guys are kind of getting loose, god dancing music a little bit, high fives. He was running like he like he had an NFL contract at the other end of the and that carries over into games. I think it was Zach Calzatta that said he runs like he's mad at the earth mat at the girth. I mean he is putting that. Daldell too, who's banged up a little bit, but he is a hard runner. He has six touchdowns through three weeks. I'm not saying he's gonna set any records, but he leads the SEC and Ben he has the record with nineteen in a season just simply by pace. He's ahead of that pace and leading the conference now. So he's been awesome. And dal Dell, a little banged up with a thigh stoop, said that shouldn't be an issue moving forward. But those that's a great one two punch. They went and got in the transfer.

00:30:30
Speaker 2: Portal and then you get a chance for Patterson actually get some touch in the second half, and he looked good. He had like what twelve thirteen carries on Saturday.

00:30:37
Speaker 4: You hate Daladell going down good thing, that's not going to be lingering, but it gave us an opportunity to see Patterson eighty yards, got his first career touchdown average I think over six yards of carry. Great for him.

00:30:50
Speaker 2: He looked really good, I thought, and.

00:30:51
Speaker 4: McGowan got here to finish up that call.

00:30:53
Speaker 5: There.

00:30:54
Speaker 4: Jay Bulwer, a running back coach I believe recruited him to Oklahoma, like he was recruited Oklahoma to be a star, and then he had his off the field issues, long roadback to get another shot, but that's how he ended up here. I mean, he's an NFL talent that kind of due to circumstances, Kentucky ended up getting him on the back end of his college career.

00:31:11
Speaker 2: And I think we need to also compliment our offensive line. I mean, then, one reason this running game is working so well. The offensive line once again plays off just five guys, but they get the job done.

00:31:22
Speaker 4: Please keep them healthy. I'm a little surprised we're not getting in some second stringers and some younger guys to at least get hit because you're gonna need them eventually. It's been mostly I haven't seen the snap count from Saturday, but the first two weeks it was all starters tax every snap. Nobody else played healthy, but at least the front five. Those were the ones that took all the money and the nil this season as they tried to rebuild that wall and they're living up to it so far.

00:31:46
Speaker 2: They were just have been dominating. You see the push they get off the offensive line. Of course that helps your running backs. I'm not taking anything away from the running back, but the offensive line is definitely need to be complimented of what they've been doing.

00:31:56
Speaker 4: Definitely. I mean, we're all excited about Bowlie, but this is this is a team that's still gonna run the ball and I think they're in good shape with McGowan, Daldell and then Patterson of the Little Surprise debut on Saturday.

00:32:08
Speaker 2: So we got a Maavision Last Tex machine. When do we know when the game time will be announced for UK South Carolina?

00:32:14
Speaker 4: That should be soon. I should know the exact time because I do that for a living. But we'll get that today.

00:32:19
Speaker 2: I think, uh, breaking news from some source down in Gary and Orlando. Down in Florida, Florida's mascot Albert. The Gators are portly entering the transfer portal. These flings are not good down in Florida.

00:32:31
Speaker 4: I'm a little mad about Florida being so bad.

00:32:33
Speaker 2: My kinda that was your pick.

00:32:35
Speaker 4: My hot take it We're gonna beat Florida and the DJ Lagway is gonna stink. He does stink, but.

00:32:41
Speaker 2: Throw Florida interception five interceptions.

00:32:43
Speaker 10: I like.

00:32:44
Speaker 4: I like being right about Florida. I made one bet futures bet it was the Florida under on wins because it was seven and a half. I don't think Florida is gonna be that good. And here we are, they're already crumbling down there and we're not even halfway through September yet.

00:32:57
Speaker 2: And I saw their schedule. Guy, they go to Miami I think this week, and then they've got Tennessee Georgia. I mean they got some tough games.

00:33:03
Speaker 4: We get him in November. We haven't had that billion.

00:33:06
Speaker 2: Well, Billy Navier be the coach when we played Florida in November, could be his last game. Well he kind of safd he makes it. That kind of saved his job last year when he came up here and won last year. I think he was if they'd lost that game, I think he might have been ousted then.

00:33:19
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's been on the hot seat a while. Remember his comment last year about people in their basement whatever being critical and yeh, I don't. I don't know that he's got I would if I were him I would already have the moving truck outside my driveway loading things up because I just don't see this is getting any better with him there.

00:33:33
Speaker 2: We do want to give a shout out. The UK volleyball team got the KSR bump this weekend. After we had Brooklyn Delay and Molly Tuzzo on the show Friday, they go out and beat SMU, a top ten team, and then they beat Houston yesterday, So got two wins over the weekend. Get the KSR bump a little bit.

00:33:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, third SMU's ranked tenth, got that win and then swept Houston yesterday. So nice unbeaten weekend. And this gives me the opportunity to do to say something I need to get off my chest. It's also for you too. Oh we owe Craig Skinner an apology because big win.

00:34:03
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:34:03
Speaker 4: At the football game, a friend of ours pulled me aside and he's like, hey, kind of guy to let you know a little little blunder you made. And I'm like, oh man, what's up?

00:34:10
Speaker 2: What I do?

00:34:11
Speaker 4: When we did our top five moments since COVID No One had the only national championship, Yeah, at Kentucky, we didn't list volleyball.

00:34:19
Speaker 2: I think Matt made him honorable mention that they won a national championship in the top five, so we can't go back and redo that segment.

00:34:27
Speaker 4: But Craig, Craig Skinner, sincere apologies here. We dropped the ball there and national champion. Yes, didn't crack our top five last week, so sorry about that. Keep having a good season.

00:34:37
Speaker 2: Going did the Nations Championship. I think supersedes the baseball team going to the College World Series because when you're a volleyball team, you won the national time, honestly should.

00:34:46
Speaker 3: Be number one per seeds a regular season basketball win.

00:34:49
Speaker 4: Yeah, we dropped the ball there.

00:34:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, so sorry, Craig. They played Louisville this week and there's going to be a bus if you want to ride the fan bus, like the old school fan bus from Lexington the Louisville for the Louisville volleyball game, contact the UK Volleyball Office what I've been told to say, and they can get you the tickets whatever they're gonna do to get jail. So they're trying to get a good crowd of Kentucky fans. They're playing at the UMP Center too, right.

00:35:12
Speaker 4: Thursday at six ESPN U if you can't make it, but if you're able to get in there, let's get some blue in the Yump Center.

00:35:18
Speaker 2: We'll take our final break, come back our final segment eight five nine two eight h two two eight seven Ryan, Drew and Shannon and Mario somewhere. We'll be right back. This is Kentucky's port Radio. So did they play this one? This is one that gets a lot of I can't push back.

00:35:30
Speaker 4: I just know in Noah Kahn last night he was taking request. I must have yelled doomas Walker thirty times. If anyone heard someone yelling doomis Walker last night, that was it was Drew.

00:35:39
Speaker 2: So this song and Cotton Eyed Joe, those are the two. I think they get the most pushback, but we seem to play it at least once again.

00:35:46
Speaker 3: I want to eliminate the Kentucky Headhunters because they're well the Kentucky head Hunters and they're really cool guys. But if it gets played too much, you can still play it once every couple of games.

00:35:56
Speaker 7: You don't have to play it every single game.

00:35:59
Speaker 4: Doomis Walker is the celebration song. Yeah, they play it as you're heading to the car. Yeah, they don't play in the game they do. It's good they do both sports. I don't know how that came to be, but it's been like that a while. Yeah, my brain actually expects to hear let's all go as like players are leaving the court or field. Let's see.

00:36:15
Speaker 3: I think after the game, it's okay. I don't know why anybody would get mad if it's after the game. A lot of people have already left by them probably anyway.

00:36:23
Speaker 2: Uh 'let me tell about Clarks Puppy Shop. Don't commit a party foul. Get tailgate ready at Clark's pump a Shop. They have everything you need for your tailgate or a home watch party. Download the Clark's Reward app. Now, that's this is the play. You download the app and then you get discounts on gas, step to date on Clark's in store specials, receive mobile coupons, get free stuff. That's what I do. I get the app, just get the gas points for sure. So Clark's Puppet Shop, they got locations all across the Lexington area. Most of the locations have drive through so you don't think to leave your car to go get snacks and drinks and stuff. They are local folks giving back to the community, sponsoring local sports teams, nonprofits, and of course the blue and white shot from people who care about the Bluegrass Clark Puppy Shop, Return, Refreshed, Refuel. We had a great time out there Friday at our remote show out there. There was a lot going on on Friday, Shannon. I mean, we got Mario doing Matt Jones impersonation. We got Big Brian taking his shirt off. We've got Gary calling in and crying. We got free Bird, free Bird trying to force these deviled eggs down us.

00:37:19
Speaker 7: No, that was We're good deviled eggs.

00:37:21
Speaker 2: They were really good.

00:37:22
Speaker 7: I do appreciate him bringing those out.

00:37:24
Speaker 2: But there was a lot a lot going on at that show. The volleyball ladies were there, so uh but they're good.

00:37:29
Speaker 4: They were good.

00:37:30
Speaker 2: They were really good, So appreciate everybody came out and then talked to us.

00:37:32
Speaker 4: And then Molly had a huge weekend. Well they both did, they one, but she had a huge I think as Saturday.

00:37:37
Speaker 2: I believe again the KSR bump, it's not that it's not something bad anymore, something good like the KSR parlay that would have hit of Shannon would have picked the right game, all right, let's go back to the phone line, eight five, two to eighty seven. Who we got, channing, Let you pick this week, logan, Logan, go ahead, logan.

00:37:56
Speaker 6: Yeah.

00:37:56
Speaker 5: So the Gangs into the season. Now, Before the season started, I had a three and nine record, I wasn't feeling real good about the team. But after watching these three games, I feel like the offensive line has improved dramatically. The defense looks solid. So if you guys were and then you know, you look at Florida and South Carolina maybe being a little more vulnerable than what I thought. So, if you could go back and give your records, what do you you want to reevaluate? Are you gonna stick with what you had?

00:38:31
Speaker 4: Good?

00:38:31
Speaker 2: Good question. Let's let's do that. Let's reevaluate right now. After the first three games, Shannon had him at six and six. He's the one that picked him and to go to a bowl game? Shan, do you reevaluate after that? You still still know feel good about it?

00:38:43
Speaker 3: I still feel like this is a bowl eligible team. I'm still going with six and six. You want to change yours, you already.

00:38:50
Speaker 7: Have changed yours.

00:38:51
Speaker 2: I've already changed it one from four and eight.

00:38:53
Speaker 7: To five and seven to six and six, you're probably seven and five.

00:38:56
Speaker 2: Now you know that the Florida game is obviously a winnable game, where I thought the Auburn game may be winnable. There may be better than I thought. You take that.

00:39:05
Speaker 7: You think that Vandy game is a winnable game.

00:39:07
Speaker 2: Now I think Vandy is gonna be a tougher the game than I thought. I uh, I would like to think five and seven though it's still on the on the table. What about you, Drew, don't make me do it.

00:39:19
Speaker 4: I'm gonna bring mine down a little bit, maybe be negative at the end of the show. No, No, I'm just thinking that was a good win. Bowy was exciting. But Eastern Michigan was zero and two. They lost to an FCS school at home last week, and they out gaged in the first half. Now, I just said earlier, I'm high on the defense and we'll throw that game away. But I still it didn't give me a lot of optimism that Eastern Michigan played them the way they did. When Eastern Michigan got absolutely killed in their first two games. They gave up fifty two points to Texas State, South Texas, North Tech Something Texas, Yeah, and then lost to Long Island. So while I am excited about Bowlie, I have a little bit of concerns about the overall operation. I haven't forgotten the safety, I haven't forgotten the third and eight fake pitch draw. I haven't forgotten about the end of the half the last two weeks. So I have concerns about overall. And then, like you said, Auburn looks better than I thought. Yeah, Florida's right where they were. I have them beaten Florida, but I had them winning in Nashville, beating Vandy. At this moment, that's the one I would probably eat a race. Yeah, so I'm coming down one game. I'll say the Vandy game has changed my mind.

00:40:28
Speaker 2: I still think they could beat Louisville. That would be my fifth win going to that game.

00:40:32
Speaker 4: But again, I think they will be in most games. Yeah, it's honestly, the operation and the coaching and why are we burning timeouts and it's still early the season. They can fix that, but that has pulled down my optimism just a little bit.

00:40:44
Speaker 2: Get out of the callers, Shannon, who we got, Randy? Randy? Go ahead, Randy, Randy, Randy, are you there?

00:40:54
Speaker 7: You scared them? Off, scared Randy, that's it for the callers.

00:40:57
Speaker 2: Then this day Vision Glass Tex Machine. I love Some Girl Street, but when they play it when we're down twenty one points, it really ticks me off. It is not a damn party when you're getting your butt kicked in, teith kicked in.

00:41:09
Speaker 7: What do they play then?

00:41:10
Speaker 3: Do they just start playing like Love Hurts and all the sad songs you can think, yeah.

00:41:15
Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe so yeah. I guess that's what I said. Why not play it early in the game. Why not get everybody excited early? Play it, don't save it in your back pocket, go ahead and play it.

00:41:24
Speaker 4: I think they could be a little more situational with their music. I think sometimes there's a script, and when we're just going by the script, they definitely go back. You might need to as you note, oh we're down three touchdowns. Maybe let's hit a different.

00:41:33
