00:00:06 Speaker 1: NFL Cover Zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin is a production of the NFL and iHeart podcast. All Right, Welcome everybody. It has been a while. It is Cover zero, a new episode. It's your NFL Draft preview episode, and I'm excited to be here. The draft is one of my favorite days of the year from a sports perspective. I think it's just since I was a kid, I wanted to be It was like my internal goal of being a GM. I think I knew as a kid I could not be a player, but I felt like I could pick a team. And this is the I think the NFL Draft is the best draft because you can actually build a team. You can watch it develop, and it's there. There are gyms to be found throughout. And my co host Drew Franklin has had a baby. He has been the general manager of a new family, except this time the choice was made for him as to who would be on his squad. So congratulations. He has a new daughter, Avery Rose Franklin, so please send your congratulatory messages. And I don't know toys to Drew Franklin. Billy is here. He's going to do the draft preview with me while Drew is with his young daughter on paternity leave. Billy, are you excited for the draft? 00:01:36 Speaker 2: I'm very excited, first of all, very happy for Drew and Abby and Avery. Unfortunately, that girl's gonna have to be a Titans fan, so that'll be. 00:01:44 Speaker 1: A life of misery. 00:01:45 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:01:46 Speaker 1: No, no, maybe they've turned around. 00:01:48 Speaker 2: They well, they could be making a big selection here soon with the fourth overall pick. But yeah, excited about the draft. I got to go to the one in Tennessee a few years ago, and man, just a swarm of people. They really make it into an event. It isn't like any of Yeah, Pittsburgh this year, the city of Bridges. 00:02:02 Speaker 1: Also, you might be watching this on a video. You may note that after a year, it looks like a show. That's right, after. 00:02:11 Speaker 2: A year of camera work that seem to try to exist to make me look as horrible as a person could look. 00:02:21 Speaker 1: Now we have cameras that light us, that make it look like we're actual human beings. Billy. I feel like in year two, Cover zero is about to hit the moon. Yeah. 00:02:31 Speaker 2: I really don't know what to do with my hands with these fancy cameras. They are so nice and like professional TV lighting. 00:02:36 Speaker 1: Look at this lighting that's right on here. 00:02:38 Speaker 2: Look at these cheeks. Still am I zooming on your face? Just for old times sake. 00:02:42 Speaker 1: So one of the things that happens in draft season, of course, is mock drafts. They go on. You know, as soon as this draft will be over, they'll be mocking the next stress. 00:02:52 Speaker 2: And I'm a sucker. 00:02:52 Speaker 1: I read them all. But I've had a theory for a long time, Billy, about the NFL Draft that I don't think you need to do any prep work none none teams. Now it's a very controversial theory so far, no one has agreed with me on I think teams should just get rid of their scouting department and just base their decisions on collective intelligence. Now this sounds stupid, but I'm actually being serious. There are studies, Billy that showcase that in regular business hiring, that interviewing people actually makes you make worse decisions, that using creating objective standards is actually the best way to do it, because when you interview people, personal connections that may have nothing to do with the job at hand in your mind become more important, and you give more credit to your intuitive knowledge than objective facts. And so they did some studies that showcased in various businesses what the difference would be between someone that interviews every candidate someone who just hires based on resume. And they found that generally speaking, over time, if you only hire based on resume, you actually long term will have better performance. 00:04:16 Speaker 2: Okay, so looking at the numbers, instead of getting attached to what somebody. 00:04:20 Speaker 1: Must, you might get ingest because we have a natural inclination to favor people that are like us. Maybe they're well dressed, maybe they make you laugh, maybe you're attracted to them. Maybe you are have some sort of bias in your head because like you're wearing a generic NFL hat, so what could you know? 00:04:38 Speaker 2: It's great to put this hat back on before the show today. 00:04:41 Speaker 1: So that basically you control your bias by not interviewing them. I remember reading this study four or five years ago, and I thought, why wouldn't that apply to sports? 00:04:51 Speaker 2: Right? 00:04:52 Speaker 1: We have objective measurements production in college, you know, if you believe in combine tests, et cetera. And then they always interview the people and oftentimes when they're picked, the guy will go, you know, they came in here and they blew us away on the interview, and then alf, I wonder if down the road, it's just like, well. 00:05:10 Speaker 2: You like the guy, so you don't care about personalities on your team, you care about production. It's like, well, I do you wonder what would happen if all you did was take all these mock drafts, just pick based on them, get rid of your scouting department, because the mock drafts are essentially collective intelligence, right right, and then go that way, take the bias out of it. It's like, remember who Wants to be a Millionaire? Of course, the most successful help on Who Wants Familiaire was pull the audience. 00:05:47 Speaker 1: They did a study. You were more likely to get it right if you pulled the audience than if you phoned a friend. Then if you're fifty to fifty, pull the collective intelligence, So do it with the draft. 00:05:59 Speaker 2: I like the idea. I also like the idea of you being on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? I think you do pretty good at that. 00:06:04 Speaker 1: I would, although I would take the money. People don't realize how stupid they are when they guess for some of this stuff. Yeah, yeah, I mean you should always take the money. In my opinion, take the money. But so in some ways, this draft that we're going to do here is the collective intelligence mock draft. 00:06:23 Speaker 2: Okay, I like this. 00:06:24 Speaker 1: We are doing this. Billy, you would acknowledge you are not a Kuiper. You're not even a McShay. 00:06:32 Speaker 2: Not in the same realm of these guys. You are not a Jordan Reid, Daniel Jeremiah Daniel Jeremiah. 00:06:41 Speaker 1: You are a Billy r Sports. 00:06:43 Speaker 2: There's only one of them, and thus we don't. 00:06:46 Speaker 1: Have intrinsic knowledge about these players. But I'm going to make a guess that when it's all said and up, our mock draft of the first round we're going to do today will be more accurate than a lot of these other people's mock drafts because we're using the collective intelligence of a life lot of mock drafts. 00:07:07 Speaker 2: And then do we have to see how it plays out five years later. 00:07:10 Speaker 1: We're going to do it. We'll judge it after the draft, Okay, and then you are assigned to five years from now, no matter where you are in your life, come back and see if we did a good job. 00:07:25 Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, boss, I'm working on looking back at the twenty twenty six NFL drafty. 00:07:31 Speaker 1: But you're a vacuum cleaner salesman. 00:07:33 Speaker 2: Now, wow, we really went downhill, didn't no offensive vacuum cleaner salesman out? 00:07:37 Speaker 1: Are there still vacuum cleaner salesman? 00:07:39 Speaker 2: There's got to be somewhere, you know. 00:07:41 Speaker 1: When I was a kid, they would come to your house. 00:07:43 Speaker 2: No, they come to the house like the milkman. 00:07:44 Speaker 1: Yeah did this? Did you all never have this? When I was a kid, you'd get a knock on the door. There'd be a man and he'd go, may I speak to your parents? He'd say, yes, think come to the door, and they go, I'm blah blah blah. I'm from the Hoover Vacuum company. We would love to do a special demonstration of our vacuum. And if they invited you, if you invited him in the house, they would then like, put stuff on your carpet, vacuum it up. It would look amazing, and then you would buy a vacuum. 00:08:14 Speaker 2: That would probably be pretty convincing for me to come into my home and then just clean up right there. Uh, let me tell you something I distinctly remember. My parents bought the vacuums and encyclopedias from traveling sales. It worked. 00:08:29 Speaker 1: It worked, and back in the day before, like especially worked in small towns because before the internet, where else were you going to. 00:08:36 Speaker 2: Get encyclopedia that's right, Yeah, you know what I mean. Or a vacuum clean and they're in town, right, Yeah. 00:08:43 Speaker 1: There's I mean there are there are stories about men who traveled the country just getting women pregnant and selling vacuum cleaners. Is there. 00:08:53 Speaker 2: Extracurricule after the vacuum demonstrated? I don't think. I don't think those two things like were intentionally A man on the road. 00:09:01 Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, fine, love. 00:09:03 Speaker 2: Much easier to have a second life when you're not follow the song Myania Tucker called I Wish I'd known the Man a little better? 00:09:14 Speaker 1: That turned my mama on. 00:09:18 Speaker 2: That's a song I think it is. It's called I Wish I'd know him the man a little better. That turned my mama own. And the premise of it was, uh, he was a vacuum so well he was. He actually sold a sort of greeting cards. You think I'm making this up? This is I'll have to research that a little. How did I get off on that? 00:09:41 Speaker 1: That doesn't what does that have to do with the mock draft anyway, So vacuum cleaner salesman, let's get started, all right, I'm gonna let you go first, and we will alternate back and forth on who we think is gonna get picked. So the Las AGAs Las Vegas Raiders are on the clock. Who are you taking? 00:10:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, well, they got a lot of needs. Receiver, O line, defensive line, defensive back. But I think this is an O brainer. The best quarterback in the field, Fernando Mendoza, seems like will be our number one pick and the number one pick in Pittsburgh. 00:10:14 Speaker 1: Here do we think he's going to do well? I mean, there are people who say, if he was in that draft with Kayleb Williams, he would have been like the fourth or fifth quarterback pick. Now he's the number one overall pick. Plus he seems like a very kind of Johnny good guy. But he's gonna go to Vegas. 00:10:28 Speaker 2: I'd be worried about him. But the Raiders made a big move signing Kirk Cousins to a deal, so that maybe that gives him. 00:10:34 Speaker 1: Here's the thing I didn't understand why they did that. Why, I mean, don't you just want to put him on the field. 00:10:38 Speaker 2: No, no, you gotta give him time to develop, but the number one pick has got to play. 00:10:43 Speaker 1: He's the number one pick. You gotta put him on the field. 00:10:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think the Raiders expect to make the playoffs. 00:10:47 Speaker 1: And when's the last time a number one overall pick has not played right off the. 00:10:51 Speaker 2: Bath So that's a great question. 00:10:53 Speaker 1: I mean, they always play Cam Warren played, you know, Caleb Williams played well. 00:11:00 Speaker 2: That that's been the trend, right. The expectations have changed with these You wouldn't start, no, not all year, or at least I'm trying not to. Yeah, I'm I mean I think if you go would you pick him? Though, like you think he's the number I mean. 00:11:13 Speaker 1: If I'm the Raiders and I don't have a quarterback for the future, you don't know what's gonna happen next year, you don't know what the I mean, there are people who think next year might be a loaded quarterback draft. But if you believe in him, yeah, I think you go ahead and pick him. I mean, I don't think he's gonna fail, right, I don't know if he's going to be great, But from what I've seen of that kid, I just don't see him failing. 00:11:35 Speaker 2: Well, Tom Brady's making the decisions, at least probably most of him. 00:11:38 Speaker 1: He probably knows something about quarterback. 00:11:41 Speaker 2: Right, so maybe we trust his intuition there. 00:11:43 Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, So now I'm up. It's the New York Jets. They have two high picks. 00:11:48 Speaker 2: This is apparently a debate between David Bailey of Texas Tech and Rvel. 00:11:55 Speaker 1: Reese of Ohio State. Rvel good Mountain name could have been from Harlan County. 00:12:02 Speaker 2: Good O Rvel. 00:12:04 Speaker 1: So, I mean this is like a classic production versus potential debate. 00:12:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, and the Jets prefer production or potential production. I'm not going to put a defensive edge on the bench in year one, so they need to produce as soon as they come out. 00:12:21 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead. I'm gonna take David Bailey. I think he tied. 00:12:27 Speaker 2: He led the college football in pressure last year. 00:12:30 Speaker 1: He tied in sacks. He played for Texas Tech. So unlike the Ohio State guys who got a lot of people to sort of share the load with, he's got the load. If I'm the Jets, I don't want to have someone fail. I'm going to go ahead and take David Bai. 00:12:43 Speaker 2: Yeah, Jets thirty one, thirty first in sacks last year, didn't have an interception the entire year, so this did go a long way. 00:12:50 Speaker 1: Yeah, not one in oh the Jets. I thought you meant Texas Tech. Yeah, they never did get one. I'm gonna be excited for airng Glynn when they get one. 00:12:56 Speaker 2: Is he going to dance down the sideline again? 00:12:58 Speaker 1: That's his position. He's got to be like I could get one. 00:13:03 Speaker 2: You come in as a defensive coach and you don't have an interception all year, that. 00:13:06 Speaker 1: Is that's got to be hard. So so now so he's off the board, all right, So let's go. You're up with the Arizona cart. 00:13:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, they really need a quarterback. There's just not one here for him right now. And you don't want to you don't want to jump it too much. Adam Schefter saying that Jeremiah Love could be in play for this pick, but I think Arizona needs a pass rusher and Avrael from Harlan really could Rvil. Rvil could really Avriel. 00:13:30 Speaker 1: It's Rvel. 00:13:31 Speaker 2: I do want to get it right. Ohio State has some really good pieces in the draft this year. I think they go defensive ed in Rville. 00:13:37 Speaker 1: You look at these top ten guys and you're like, how is Ohio State not better? 00:13:40 Speaker 2: Right? I mean Ohio State is projected to have like three of the top ten and something like five of the top seventeen. 00:13:49 Speaker 1: It's like they should have I know they were good, but like, how did they lose the Indian because indianasmindoza no one else? 00:13:55 Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you remember the year they won the title, Ryan Day, he was on the hot seat like that entire year, and so even after they won, they weren't. Well, you're taking good ol' Rville rvel, good boy Rville. Mom took, Mom raised him right. 00:14:09 Speaker 1: Uh, Tennessee Titans go fourth. I'm gonna I'm gonna follow what everybody's doing so far. I'm gonna take Jeremiah Love. It's way too high to pick a are you keeping track? 00:14:20 Speaker 2: But yeah, I got it. 00:14:21 Speaker 1: Okay, guy, it's way too high to pick a running back, but it's what the Titans need, you know, get a little excitement he and cam Ward. I'm gonna go ahead and take him. Go get Jeremi Love. 00:14:34 Speaker 2: I mean I think it is high. Obviously, he'd be the first running back drafted in the top five since Saquon in twenty eighteen. 00:14:41 Speaker 1: But he was worth it. 00:14:42 Speaker 2: He was so you could see the value there. I don't, you know, they need a lot of positions too, but cam Ward and Jeremiah Love can really get, you know, fans excited for when they enter that new stadium in the following year. 00:14:53 Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, listen, is it a Is it a stretch? Possibly? But I think it's a stretch that's that's worth doing. 00:15:00 Speaker 2: All right? 00:15:01 Speaker 1: Fifth pick? Who you it's the Giants? Who you got there? Billy? 00:15:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm kind of looking out Ohio State again, surprise. And while I like Carnel Tate, I think he's the best receiver in this draft, and they could use another weapon for Jackson Dart along with Malik Neighbors. I really like Caleb Downs the safety out of Ohio State. 00:15:20 Speaker 1: Oh you're going to take Caleb Downs here? 00:15:22 Speaker 2: I'm taking him at five. Is that a bit of a jump? 00:15:25 Speaker 1: Well? No, I mean I just hadn't seen a lot of people projecting him there. But you know what, this isn't about projections. This is about what we think they should do. 00:15:34 Speaker 2: That's right, And that was a guy that was a playmaker all year long. They were calling him a top five pick since the very beginning. He lived up to that hype. So I think he's an Eric Berry type. I think he can go around the field and be the fifth pick. 00:15:46 Speaker 1: Do you remember the eric Berry song? 00:15:49 Speaker 2: I don't know. No, I don't think so. 00:15:51 Speaker 1: For the Chiefs, it was like it was like a rap and he was like, eric Berry, you're so scared. 00:15:59 Speaker 2: I like, I like, look it up. Okay, we'll see if we can find it. 00:16:02 Speaker 1: I want you to look it up. I don't know if you'll be able to play it on here. But there is an eric Berry song. Do you see it on there? No yet. 00:16:11 Speaker 2: I spelled Verry wrong. Unfortunately if you spell. 00:16:14 Speaker 1: If you spelled incorrectly, it'll be harder. That's not a type of fruit, the eric bear. 00:16:18 Speaker 2: Okay, low life, that's a highlight realm. 00:16:22 Speaker 1: Yeah, right, here would go eric Berry, Eric busel scare. So I just thought i'd give you that information, all right. I like your pick of kle Downce. Now we number six is the Cleveland Browns. There's been a lot of speculation that this could be a trade potentially to the Cowboys, especially if in your if in your mock here that Sunny Styles was available. I'm going to assume they don't make the trade, at which point Cleveland would would pick, and I think at that point that will pick. 00:17:08 Speaker 2: I think they'll pick needs a quarterback, that's just they do. 00:17:13 Speaker 1: But they're not going to pick them. I think they're gonna go offensive line. I'll take Francis Francis from off Miami, the offensive tackle Moina? 00:17:24 Speaker 2: What Moinoa? 00:17:26 Speaker 1: You know that? 00:17:27 Speaker 2: I looked it up for the show started, because this. 00:17:29 Speaker 1: Is what good producers do. Francis Moinoah, that's right, I'm gonna read you for a second on Francis Mowi noah, what the people are saying. First of all, we're going on Daniel Jeremia's board. We're going way where he doesn't even have Francis Moina getting picked at all. 00:17:46 Speaker 2: He doesn't, well, the number one interior offensive lineman ought to be picked in the top ten. 00:17:53 Speaker 1: How does he not? What's he got against Frell there? No, he hasn't going fifth? Okay, sorry, Peter Schrager. U with Francis Moina. He says, Jackson Dart is already close with him and he will be the first. So if Jackson Dart's already close, give me frances. 00:18:09 Speaker 2: MOI no, and the Giants have another pick in the top ten. 00:18:12 Speaker 1: How did I say, Jackson Dart, I'm sitting in Cleveland, but it would be nice that he knows Jackson. 00:18:16 Speaker 2: Dart, Todd Monkin new Brown's coach, gonna need somebody at least that should help him in Cleveland. 00:18:27 Speaker 1: All right? Number seven? Watch the Commander, So you got. 00:18:29 Speaker 2: Threw me off too. I think this is a no brainer. I think they've got to go receiver. You do, okay? 00:18:35 Speaker 1: I actually thought never mind. 00:18:36 Speaker 2: No, even with Sunny Styles falling, I think I thought this was overall exactly where Sonny Styles would be. I think Carnell Tait is somebody that they can pair with, Jaden Daniels, Terry mclaurin's an older receiver, Luke McCaffrey ain't doing much, and Treylon Burk's is a name of Titans past. I think it's a little bit of a reach here, but give me carneal Tate number seven. 00:18:58 Speaker 1: Well, you've got that's what mel Kuiper has. I mean, that's like a fit, right, if you're the command, correct, you're taking him there. Because it's a fit. It's probably a little bit of a reach in terms of where he's although you know, I've seen him up as high at sixth on people's best Players Available list, so I can respect it. Which gets me to New Orleans at number eight. Well, somebody's got a slip here, especially if you're gonna get Tate there. I've not seen one mock draft where they don't have Ruben Bayin going to going here to New Orleans. So even though Sunny Styles, he will be the guy that slips. And I'll say Ruben Bain out of Miami. A lot of people who are casual NFL draft fans will remember Ruben Baying because he played so well during the playoff last year. 00:19:48 Speaker 2: That's right, Miami a heck of a year for them, But that means the Chiefs are going to ultimately get this guy. Well, I think the Chiefs are sitting there. 00:19:58 Speaker 1: They're hoping that Francis Malgoa yes goes in the top eight, because no matter matter what, they end up with a star right here. They would either end up with Carneal Tait as a receiver, which I think they would gladly sign up for, or they get Sonny Styles right right, So they're just hoping somebody jumps them in my opinion. So one of those two, one of those guys gets to. 00:20:21 Speaker 2: Them, and while they want to reload Travis Kelce aging how many years does he have left? 00:20:26 Speaker 1: Are you glad he's coming back? 00:20:28 Speaker 2: Eh? I don't know. I'm kind of over it all, honestly. The Taylor Swift, Travis you're over. I mean, they had their fun. 00:20:36 Speaker 1: It felt like it was their fun. 00:20:38 Speaker 2: It was every episode. We were bringing it up every game alluding to Taylor Swift during the Chiefs games. It's just a little much. Let's get back to football. You know, you want to get back to I want to get back to football. Okay, all right, not conversation. 00:20:52 Speaker 1: So with Carnal Tait, will you think they would take Sonny Styles or do you think they would take Jordan Tyson, the wide receiver from Arizona State that everybody has had them projected here for a long time. 00:21:01 Speaker 2: Easy time to overthink it, like you think most gms do. But I think they take place play available and they do go Sunny Styles, and they have a beast on the defensive side. But I feel like the Chiefs ow it to Mahomes to go get an offensive guy eventually. 00:21:15 Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, So then that gets us to number ten, and I think the Giants probably traded up here to get an offensive lineman. But if they're sitting there, I mean, I think if they're sitting there and you're the Giants and you've already picked at five in offensive lineman or excuse me. 00:21:34 Speaker 2: What do we have as five downs? Actually as defensive downs? 00:21:37 Speaker 1: Okay, then I'm gonna take Jordan Tyson here. If I'm the Giants, I'm going to take a receiver for Jackson Dart and I'm gonna I'm gonna go with him. I think that's the smart pick. 00:21:47 Speaker 2: If that happens, I think that's where I was going to go with the next pick in Miami. So they're gonna have to pivot a little bit here. 00:21:53 Speaker 1: I like giving Dart a weapon. You know he last year a lot of his weapons got hurt. Have a young guy for him to grow with. I mean, now you've given him. You know, he's sad because his friend went to Cleveland. 00:22:08 Speaker 2: And Francis Wandell left. Wendelle Chechter said that Obij was in the building today, so he might be a possible signing if that guy is still gonna play. 00:22:19 Speaker 1: But if you can get Jordan Tyson and you can for the next five years have that as you're one too. It's hard for me to know what Jordan Tyson because he played at Arizona State and I know they were good two years ago, but I haven't seen him enough to know, and he has not played against those elite SEC Big ten defenders. 00:22:36 Speaker 2: You might like this detail though, the Giants GM made the trade right after he left Arizona State's pro day. 00:22:43 Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you act like I didn't know that one. Do you think I picked? 00:22:46 Speaker 2: So maybe they he had this in mind. 00:22:48 Speaker 1: I don't. I'm not as dumb as I portray. I had a had a spot at the Arizona City workompice. 00:22:55 Speaker 2: Is that right? 00:22:56 Speaker 1: Who who gave me that information? All right? So did you like the trade? By the way of Dexter Lawrence? Did you like the Bengals pulling them pulling it there? 00:23:05 Speaker 2: I do like Cincinnati going all in. That's just a franchise that doesn't do that often. I think they realize that they lose this year. There's gonna be a lot of questions with Joe Burrow and if he wants to stay. So this immediately gives them an impact player on the other side of the ball. So yeah, I do. He's a proven commodity and they sign him to extension. So that's three years of Dexter Lawrence. 00:23:23 Speaker 1: Three years of Dexter Lawrence. All right, so now we're going to get to the Miami Dolphins. I stole your player by taking Tyson, So who you take it? 00:23:33 Speaker 2: Yeah? So I think if they're not going to have Tyson available, I don't know if they're going to go to the us C receiver yet, so I think that they might go defensive back, they might go defensive edge. This is all my stalling to try to figure out who to pick here, but I may go the corner out of LSU Matt Mansord Delayne. 00:23:52 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna read you with Daniel jeremisais okay. Mansord Delay is one of the most consistent players in the draftcast. He makes everything look easy. He's loose and fluid, but when he's attacked he can low kate and make plays on the ball. There's just something that I think. I don't know if Jeremiah was like being saucy when he said he was loose and fluid, but it felt like it, and I was like, man, sore, loose and fluid. 00:24:20 Speaker 2: I like, can you imagine that? Pro day? Okayna, all right, the twelfth pick in the draft is the Dallas Cowboy. 00:24:34 Speaker 1: Now, if there's one thing we know about the Dallas Cowboys, they want like a name, right they want to start. The problem is pretty much all the big names have been taken right here, so I don't really know. None of these feel like Cowboys picks, you know what I mean? 00:24:53 Speaker 2: Yeah, now there's not I mean after the top ten. And this is maybe why the Cincinnati Bengals made that move, is that it's it's you know, it's wide open as to who you take after these say, you know, they like to go receiver because they like to make a splash. They have good receivers, and that feels like the kind of thing they would do even though they don't really need a receiver. Yep, Jerry's still making those decisions, Matt. 00:25:25 Speaker 1: He is, all right, you know what I'm gonna say. They actually do something smart and they take Spencer Fanot, the offensive lineman in Utah. They say, you know what, let's let's go against our normal always getting the splash, and let's take a Utah offensive lineman. The least sexy pig possible. 00:25:45 Speaker 2: I mean, I don't see Jerry Jones doing that. That would make a lot of sense. I mean, Dallas's own line used to be one of the best in the NFL a few years ago, and. 00:25:54 Speaker 1: When they were good, that's what they did, so they should rebuild it. 00:25:58 Speaker 2: I like it all right. What's thirteen thirteen is the Los Angeles Rams And that's a no brainer. I think, to me, if you're gonna leave me Lemon the receiver from USC, I think he doesn't. 00:26:09 Speaker 1: He literally can stay in the same apartment. 00:26:11 Speaker 2: That's right. And uh, I mean Poka Nakua just took a huge jump last year and DeVante Adams is still doing his thing. 00:26:17 Speaker 1: When did would Nakua become like a bad boy one of the Nilk boys or whatever one of those Like when did he? 00:26:24 Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. 00:26:25 Speaker 1: Every time I read something, he's like, is he gonna be one of these podcast dudes that I'm gonna end up having to hate? 00:26:31 Speaker 2: Yeah, one of those seemed like, But but you may have to. 00:26:35 Speaker 1: Think about that when you're picking so, like, that's maybe the kind of guy that doesn't have a long shelf life. 00:26:41 Speaker 2: Well, it's about maximizing Matthew Stafford and what he's got left right, and you give him another receiver. I think that could go a long way. Yeah, take lemon there. 00:26:49 Speaker 1: All right. So now we get to the Ravens at fourteen. You know, new head coach, new head coach. So like a lot of the philosophy that we've seen for a while will be different. I'm gonna go. Let me see if I could pronounce this savvi o vega eOne? Why did I say savia? That was a former ww? 00:27:18 Speaker 2: Sorry ola a vega? Oh? Yes, the penn state. 00:27:25 Speaker 1: How do I say that? First thing? Honestly, you could give me ten different pronunciations and I wouldn't know. 00:27:32 Speaker 2: Only vega only that's all right, only viva viga loan. 00:27:40 Speaker 1: That wasn't anything like you said the first time. 00:27:42 Speaker 2: Well, we're working at it o eva vega. 00:27:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's only eva vega eOne. He's that's Ravens like that. 00:27:51 Speaker 2: Oh, that is a raven if I've ever seen he was. He's huge, isn't he? 00:27:55 Speaker 1: Isn't he like three hundred and at ninety eight pounds or. 00:27:58 Speaker 2: Something, let's say ninety eight would be a lot six four three twenty Yeah, No, I remember I remember seeing him at the Pro Day and he's just like a massive human being. He's going to be a left tackle. I like it, give me him, but him and Derek Henry running at you at the same time, that is that is intimidating, no doubt about it, no doubt. 00:28:20 Speaker 1: All right. 00:28:20 Speaker 2: So now we're up to the fifteenth pick. Who's got the fifteenth pick? My Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 00:28:25 Speaker 1: All right, so you've you're an expert here. You should be able to tell me what they're going to do. 00:28:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, well, they're not going to win the division this year. I got really low expectations for him this year. Unfortunately. I think they need an edge rusher, but I don't see one really in the caliber that they need right now. So I think they double up. They lose Mike Evans, so they go tight end Kenyon Sadik, Kenyan Sadik, pair him with Kate Odden, and I think you've got a new, revamped offense. 00:28:51 Speaker 1: So what do you know about if you if you're advocating for Kenyan Sadik, what do you know about? 00:28:55 Speaker 2: What don't I know about Sadiq? Matt eight touchdowns last year six three, two forty five I mean, such a massive improvement from year two to year three, don't I know about Kenyan City. I mean, he's about to be a buccaneer. 00:29:11 Speaker 1: Let me tell you what Daniel Jeremiah says, because he has good things to say. I love his competitiveness, tenasty, tenacity, but he does not have consistent hands. 00:29:23 Speaker 2: What that's all I need out of it. 00:29:26 Speaker 1: What he means is one is twice the size of the other. 00:29:30 Speaker 2: Not what I expected. 00:29:32 Speaker 1: He's got one hand it's like three feet tall, and then he's got another little. 00:29:40 Speaker 2: Dyadnd you just have to know. 00:29:46 Speaker 1: To throw it to the good hand. 00:29:48 Speaker 2: Well, that's why he's We've got two tight ends matted, one with two great hands and one one exceptional hand one and then I don't know about that. 00:29:58 Speaker 1: That's one just amazing and the other one's not quite as consistent. 00:30:17 Speaker 2: All right, Number sixteen New York Jets are back on the clock. I think now, if. 00:30:23 Speaker 1: You're the Jets, you address defense on your first pick, you go get Omar Cooper Junior from Indiana. He had thirteen touchdowns last year, used playing Medo's a great culture. You need a culture, you know. The Jets have all these random ragtag group of scallowags and then you throw a good culture guy like Omar Cooper Junior in and you help rebuild your offense. So I will take him. 00:30:50 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not sure if I can name another receiver besides Garrett Wilson for the Jets. So they a lot of woman Garrett Wilson, pair them up on each side. 00:30:57 Speaker 1: I like it. He also he had a game I want to say against Penn State where he got that breakaway and like, he's the flat, great speed in that one. So I I like him right here if I'm the Jets. 00:31:11 Speaker 2: Yeah. There was also I don't know if it was him that made that catch in the back of the end zone versus Penn State, but if it was good play. 00:31:18 Speaker 1: Yeah, that was what that's He had two big plays. So yeah, all right, what's next? 00:31:23 Speaker 2: The Lions are picking at seventeenth And when I saw that there's an offensive lineman from Georgia that's six seven, three fifteen. 00:31:31 Speaker 1: That is that literally you would create a Dan Campbell player in the last. 00:31:35 Speaker 2: They already made Monroe Freeling. They already got Tate Ratledge last year from Georgia. Still waiting on that jersey from you, Matt. But Monroe Freeling. To pair him up there, I think would be perfect. First of all, if is there a more Georgian name than Monroe Freeling, it does sound like somebody the noses way round a peach. 00:32:04 Speaker 1: My dad's my dad's got a farm, Monroe Freeling. He also like it sounds like he'd be in like a fraternity pledge class. Who's your chapter president? Meet Monroe Freeling. 00:32:16 Speaker 2: He's the disciplinary chair Monroe. 00:32:19 Speaker 1: Well, he is huge, and I like that pick. I think that's a good one. All right, we'll go to the Minnesota Vikings. I'm going to take. I have two choices here. I can either get the dude from Oregon, but people don't like to take safeties. Well there's two safeties here. Do you want to do Thienemon from Oregon or do you want to do you know what, I'm gonna go with the guy from Toledo, am Manuel McNeil Warren from Toledo. Yes he is. He's kind of been competing with Fineman as the number two safety by downs. And you know, listen, if you're on a draft board from Toledo. 00:33:00 Speaker 2: You've proved it enough. 00:33:01 Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he was the people came ver in portal said you want to cut. He was like, nope, Toledo, he's going to be loyal already, use those Midwestern colds. 00:33:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. He's not too far away. So I'm gonna go ahead and take my guy. Manual McNeil Warren. Well, I don't think that's a bad pick. Harrison Smith is in year fourteen with the Vikings. 00:33:22 Speaker 1: How is that right? 00:33:23 Speaker 2: Yeah, the safety from Notre Dame back in the day I play. 00:33:25 Speaker 1: It's a long time all right, Well, tell me what the Carolina Panthers are going. 00:33:28 Speaker 2: Well, they'll go with the other safety that you did pick. We're not gonna overthink it. Yeah, it's Dylan thinnaman As I believe I would say, okay, well chuge their own. Yeah. But Brian Flores over there, Well, that's with the Vikings. The Aenemen is with the Panthers, with Dave Canalis and Carolina, Mike and all the momentum over there at the end of. 00:33:49 Speaker 1: Mike's got to find a new saw Mario. I've now heard him sing his Instagram sixty five versions of that. If I had fifty, if I had one hundred and fifty thousand. 00:34:00 Speaker 2: So is he a one hit wonder right now, Right now. 00:34:03 Speaker 1: I think that's where I would lean towards you need to bring. I will say, man, he got a lot of performances out of that. 00:34:09 Speaker 2: Well, for Bryce Young to tell us they stopped what they were doing to turn to the Jumbo tron to watch was a very cool moment. 00:34:16 Speaker 1: Totally understand why they did it. I would have done the exact exact same thing. So they all, let's go to the twentieth pick. Oh, excuse me for I want to go back to Thienemon for a minute. And I read you what Daniel Jeremiah said, please uh against the run. He trusts his eyes and will explode in the alley. Overall, I would just say Thinemon does a lot of different task at a very high level. So when I read that, when he says task, I think like he can come fix your air conditioning. 00:34:50 Speaker 2: So yeah, he's handy. 00:34:52 Speaker 1: He's like a handy man. Yeah, I have a handyman. His name's Rusty. This real life again, Okay, his name's Rusty. Comes over, Hey, Rusty, can you do this? Yes? What about this? Yes, he'll show up. All he's got is a wrench and they'll walk out and he'll fix everything out. 00:35:10 Speaker 2: That's all you need. That's all you need is a wrench to get it done. The right way is the NFL draft's rust. You also trust his eyes, which is something we should all do. Matt's trust our eyes. 00:35:22 Speaker 1: Are there others who don't? 00:35:24 Speaker 2: You're telling me? I mean we are both. 00:35:26 Speaker 1: There are the guys in this draft they do not trust their eyes because I'm not picking them. If they're if they're out there trying to play football in the sense of smell, yeah, they're. 00:35:38 Speaker 2: Just blind out there. Come on, we need people with all their senses. Which way do you go? 00:35:47 Speaker 1: I'm sorry, you don't get this kind of thing on. 00:35:53 Speaker 2: Yeah, on topic, sho, where are we twentieth twenty? 00:35:57 Speaker 1: Does that mean yes, Cleveland Browns? 00:36:01 Speaker 2: Well, I think it's the Cowboys here. Actually, oh okay, well now then they got to go defense. 00:36:08 Speaker 1: And let's see which of the edges that what's an edge? 00:36:12 Speaker 2: Oh? 00:36:12 Speaker 1: The guy from Miami a. 00:36:14 Speaker 2: Keeen Messador, A keen Messador. Yes, he's one of the older players in the draft. He just turned forty one. I screwed that up. It is the Browns. Why did you tell me it was the Cowboys? Because that was I'm not taking him. 00:36:30 Speaker 1: If I'm the Browns, I'm taking a wide receiver, so I'm gonna take Denzel Boston Junie. 00:36:34 Speaker 2: Hey, I like that big better for them? 00:36:36 Speaker 1: Yeah, well if you make me get the right team. Denzel Boston from Washington. 00:36:43 Speaker 2: Uh. 00:36:43 Speaker 1: This says he has a huge catch radius because again he uses off his senses. 00:36:49 Speaker 2: How many good hands does he have? 00:36:54 Speaker 1: Just one big hand? Denzel Boston Junior. I think Cleveland needs a receiver regardless of who their quarterback is. Give me Denzel. 00:37:01 Speaker 2: I like it. I mean, Jerry Judy is there, but besides that, not a ton of talent. So in Boston from Washington, he can be a good pick up there for them. 00:37:09 Speaker 1: Yeah. He's also, isn't he like a I think he's got a big personality. If I've seen that guy before, I think he does videos and stuff. All right. Twenty one Pittsburgh Steelers. 00:37:19 Speaker 2: Oh they're gonna love this pick. You know everybody gets excited when it's in this draft city. Can we talk about Aaron Rodgers for a second before we make this pick, because he's still not told the Steelers what he's gonna do for a twenty twenty, so. 00:37:31 Speaker 1: There's no more selfish person than him. He's like, I mean, just decide already, right. 00:37:36 Speaker 2: Yeah, just make a decision. I mean, now they go into the draft with two quarterbacks and Will Howard and Mason Rudolph, but really no idea of the direction of the team. 00:37:43 Speaker 1: Well, so the question is do you take Ty Simpson here? I mean the question do you if you're Pittsburgh, do you want do you want to take him? And then with Aaron Rodgers? Is it better or worse? Or do you wait for next year? Because there's gonna be probably six or seven guys that will first round contenders next year. 00:38:01 Speaker 2: Yeah, next year's draft is loaded with quarterback prospects. 00:38:04 Speaker 1: So what are you doing? 00:38:06 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:38:06 Speaker 1: I mean think you think the rest of this draft pivots on what you decide here, So don't screw it up. 00:38:12 Speaker 2: Well, definitely a trade down candidate if they can, But like, yeah, I think you just wait for Aaron Rodgers and and probably go offensive line. So I'm gonna go with the tackle from Arizona State here, And this is another great pronunciation, max Ian Shower. Who did you just pat He's not on my board, He's on the board here. One of the offensive tackle prospects from Arizona. 00:38:40 Speaker 1: Oh, is that the guy from Nigeria? 00:38:43 Speaker 2: He might be you know, he's from this world. So I mean that is he's like, Well, there's a guy. 00:38:52 Speaker 1: This is not the guy maxian Shower, but there's a guy I was reading about who the NFL has brought to the draft who's never played football. Did you see that guy? 00:38:59 Speaker 2: Ian Shower is from l A Okay? But uh, if he's playing never played football and he's in the draft, that might be a problem. 00:39:05 Speaker 1: He's not from Nigeria. 00:39:07 Speaker 2: No, this guy is from La No, this says. 00:39:11 Speaker 1: I'm looking at it. Ian Shower is still relatively new to football. He was a Nigerian born tackle that came to the United States at thirteen. 00:39:19 Speaker 2: Well, ESPN needs to work on their bios for these players because it says he is from His birthplace was La California, La Nigeria. Oh, they're pretty similar, right, So I mean, no, there's a guy that they're expecting to go in like the seventh round who has never played in a football game. See that seems concerning. 00:39:40 Speaker 1: He they brought him. I guess the NFL has some sort of program where they try to get people from around the world involved in the sport and they found this kid and he was I think they brought him to the US. He went to let's say, I don't know, pick a like Coppin State or school like that, and then he didn't play. But he's supposedly like the best athlete ever. 00:40:01 Speaker 2: Well, you asked, would you draft on potential? 00:40:03 Speaker 1: No, this guy's like there's a story about this guy. I can't I don't know what I know. It just sounds like I'm babbling words, but I promise you this person exists. And they said he's going to end up on an NFL roster because he's His athletic potential is like bizarre. 00:40:20 Speaker 2: Well, do you feel like players in other sports could play in the NFL? Yes, like Lebron any other sports. So there's there. 00:40:28 Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think, don't get me wrong, there's a huge skill set to play in the NFL. But you have a better chance of taking an elite athlete and having him be good at the NFL than any other sport. 00:40:40 Speaker 2: Yeah, basketball, you gotta dribble. I mean, there's I mean that could be a big. 00:40:44 Speaker 1: I mean just think about like like like Antonio Gates, right, and football was almost secondary for him and he ended up being a Hall of Famer, so he was. 00:40:54 Speaker 2: Can you remember brock Lesnar went to the Vikings camp. I don't remember that. How did that turn out for Brock? He didn't make the team, but he did they considered it. Yeah, that just looks like a guy that can play football. Let's sign him up. See how he can do. I can see that, all right, We'll go to twenty two. Twenty two is the Chargers here? 00:41:16 Speaker 1: Yeah, what do I want? 00:41:17 Speaker 2: Chargers need a ligneman and edge rusher. 00:41:20 Speaker 1: I'm gonna go not a quarterback. Boy, I don't like any of my selections here. I guess I'm gonna go offensive line and go Blake Miller from Clemson. All right, talking about a culture change gets away from Dabo. It has to go to the bright lights of that LA. 00:41:37 Speaker 2: Well, he gets Harball, so I mean it does get Harble that different from Dabo. Right. 00:41:42 Speaker 1: I don't know a lot about Clemson offensive lineman except I remember seeing they would always show him like I guess he was a good student and he was always wearing khakis. So I'll take. 00:41:50 Speaker 2: Care of like a Dabo. Start him every game. 00:41:52 Speaker 1: First sight like that. 00:42:07 Speaker 2: Eagles twenty three The Eagles who Adam Schefter with some news over the last couple of days, likely to move on from aj Brown and likely to trade him to the Patriots. 00:42:17 Speaker 1: Thank goodness though, right if you're an Eagles fan, like he's. 00:42:20 Speaker 2: Just been reading his book on the sideline and he's just been a hassle, like, hey, moving the move like you won the Super Bowl and you were still complaining. 00:42:28 Speaker 1: That's the dude, You're never going to make happy. 00:42:30 Speaker 2: No, I agree, I agree, And so I think that they're looking for an edge rusher. I know, Blake Miller or not Blake Miller. We we just talked about him. I know Peter Woods is a good defensive tackle, but I'm going to go more edge here. I'm going to go Zion Young, defensive end from Missouri for the Eagles. 00:42:47 Speaker 1: Okay, Zion Young from Missouri. That's who we thought a lot of people had him projected to the Bears. So you stole him from my team? 00:42:56 Speaker 2: Yeah, you watch a lot of Missouri games this year, you know, try not. 00:42:59 Speaker 1: To most boring field in the United States. 00:43:02 Speaker 2: They say it's the worst. What is it? They have a glass in the SEC have a grass area, yeah, the burm No, but like you can. 00:43:10 Speaker 1: Just wander into it. There are people there who think they're having a class. It's the worst stadium in the It's got to be one of the worst stadiums in a power for I can't Dukes is worse trying to get stadium's worse than missouris. They're not many. 00:43:26 Speaker 2: Yeah, they just seem out of place a little bit. They had so much success when they first joined the SEC, but since not a lot. Yeah, I'm gonna admit to you my note taking hasn't been great on this. That's okay, I've got it all written down here. Yeah, when I check in five years, but I if all of a sudden it's I'm not really able to keep track of who's on the board. 00:43:46 Speaker 1: That's why are we at Cleveland? 00:43:48 Speaker 2: Yeah we're Yes. 00:43:50 Speaker 1: Give me Jermad McCoy okay from Tennessee. He is a cornerback. He missed most of last year with an ACL He's a top ten pick if he had not gotten hurt. And I think if you're Cleveland, you've already had one first round pick that you took a receiver on. This is a guy who you know it's worth the risk because you could be getting a top ten talent at twenty four. 00:44:14 Speaker 2: And the Browns getting this pick, I believe when the Jaguars traded up to pick Travis Hunter last year, So the Browns with two first round picks, which it ended up mean, I think a really bad bad pick for the for the for their Jacksonville ban Yeah trade, Yeah, he struggled year one. Do you not think Travis Hunter? 00:44:33 Speaker 1: No, I just think they didn't need to trade up, you know, I think they'd been better off with those picks. 00:44:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, probably, like if you were now. 00:44:40 Speaker 1: Jacksonville ended up being pretty good, So that pick is not as good as you might have thought it would have been. But I still think you'd rather have the have the death because I think they gave up two picks right to get that. Yeah, So who's next? 00:44:54 Speaker 2: Twenty fifth? The Bears, Your Chicago Bears. So I know you've been thinking about this pick for months at this point. Now, dude, if I had a dollar for every time I thought about But you know, with all the noise on the offensive side of the ball, I think I think they go defense and I think they go Peter Woods. 00:45:12 Speaker 1: That great yet for them at this point. 00:45:15 Speaker 2: And from Clemson, I think he does fills a need for them on the defensive line. 00:45:20 Speaker 1: There was a time Peter Woods was Yeah, I mean, if you like here on this one, I'm trying to think, who's bored this is? They have him tenth, so if you get him twenty five. But that's a guy who at one point was I think projected going in the season as a top five pick, wasn't he He had a very much underperformed this year. 00:45:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember that name, so he very well. 00:45:42 Speaker 1: You cuinly think he was projected maybe at one point is a top five pick. So if you could get him at twenty five. 00:45:48 Speaker 2: Be quite the fall though. 00:45:49 Speaker 1: Oh that is it's already a fall wherever he goes, because I mean, this is a dude who genuinely should have been picked in the first five to ten if he had not had discipline. 00:46:00 Speaker 2: I do feel bad for the guys in the green room when they fall and their whole family is just looking around. It was Will Levis a couple of years ago. 00:46:07 Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the bad That was a bad one. 00:46:10 Speaker 2: And then well and then you know Smith Lamar Jackson. I mean, these guys are expected to go high. You know a lot of those guys have ended up being successful off of it. I mean Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, many years ago. 00:46:21 Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers was one of the first ones that that it happened to. Will Levis got his girlfriend famous from it ega viral. Yeah, she became a star from just sitting there and waiting. Yeah, what's her name? 00:46:32 Speaker 2: Gia Gia Duddy? I think is her name. I remember it all these years later. 00:46:37 Speaker 1: It's impressive. I'm impressed. All right, Buffalo Bills are next, right. 00:46:42 Speaker 2: Yes, our maybe our resident team here on cover zero after our trip last year. 00:46:46 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna say I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Cayden Proctor from Alabama another This is a bust or massive success pick. There's nothing in between. He was I think disappointing at Alabama, but another guy at one point was a top ten projected pick. Has more upside than anybody, but he also could be out of the league in three years. 00:47:09 Speaker 2: Who was it? 00:47:11 Speaker 1: Do you not follow my No? 00:47:13 Speaker 2: No? Who'd you say it was? Again? Hayden Proctor? Oh, that's right. I was thinking about the other guy, So I'm gonna take him out. 00:47:21 Speaker 1: And I think this is another one of those if you're Buffalo good culture, bring this guy in and you could be getting to steal. 00:47:27 Speaker 2: I like it. I like it, even though I just found out who it was after I didn't hear you the first time. 00:47:31 Speaker 1: You should start, You should listen a little bit better. What's next? 00:47:35 Speaker 2: The forty nine ers are at twenty seven, and you know it's a it's a luxury, I think here. I don't know if they have a ton of needs. They you know, they did sign I believe Trent Williams to a new deal today, so I did see that. But I'm gonna go edge rusher here. Who you got, I'm gonna go Keldrick Falk the defensive end from Auburn to bolster the pass rush there, the rich get richer in this ce. 00:47:57 Speaker 1: Feels like Auburn gets a fuck every few years. 00:48:00 Speaker 2: Uh. I can't name, but it does, I know, Marshall, fuck it does. You're like, all right, we'll go to the forty nine ers. I'm going off the board for real. For the forty nine ers at twenty seven. I just picked them. So if you want to go twenty eight, that would be. 00:48:14 Speaker 1: At twenty eight for the Houston Texans, I'm going off the board. A lot of people don't see this coming. Cash is Howe whoa from Texas, A and M. People have him projected as a second rounder. Mario, write this down. He's first round, could go. I think he could go as high as twentieth. But I'll take him here at twenty eight for the Texans. Watch out. Cash is howl right down the road from Houston in College Station. 00:48:39 Speaker 2: So what'd you see? Like? I mean, the intangibles are there, maybe one big hand when little hand hips? Ooh, the hips they don't lie. I've heard that. 00:48:49 Speaker 1: No, he's undersized and he's little. He's five to one, five to one anyway, all right, I know people will be surprised. I was kind of making that up. Oh and then I just read Daniel Jeremiah. What did DJ say against the run? And he controls and rolls his hips and uses leverage. I know he lacks measurements, but a smart team will see this as a first round player. 00:49:15 Speaker 2: I mean he saw his hips and had the same thought Matt, so Cashius Cassius or is they like to call him hips hol hips? 00:49:24 Speaker 3: Hel goes twenty eighth. I will four more. The Chiefs are back. Chiefs are back, and man, I you know, I think they'd love a receiver. Here, but I'm not going to give him a receiver. I will not see that through. I think they go corner here. I'm going to go with what the consensus on A lot of mocks are here. Colton Hood from Tennessee for the Chiefs. 00:49:47 Speaker 1: I remember him. Tennessee fans were always complaining about him. 00:49:51 Speaker 2: Why because they always just felt like he got beat even though he had like crazy talent. 00:49:58 Speaker 1: I think that's another guy. I know I keep saying this, but there was a time he was projected as a higher pick as well. 00:50:02 Speaker 2: Well with DB's. He got to have a short term memory, you do. 00:50:05 Speaker 1: That's that's what they all always say. Who's at thirty? 00:50:08 Speaker 2: The Dolphins, Dolph thirty. This is kind of like where a lot of projected trades are like people coming up to maybe get Ty Simpson. 00:50:16 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not what's gonna happen. They're gonna pick k C. Conceptsion whoa of Texas. 00:50:21 Speaker 2: A and m Okay another one hips. 00:50:25 Speaker 1: Well, no, it's not about it. 00:50:28 Speaker 2: He has a he has a good jab step and then he explodes down the field. Okay, you've never seen his jab No, I haven't seen. 00:50:37 Speaker 1: It's one foot in the ground. And then and he that's what the Dolphins need. Give me Casey Conceptsio. 00:50:46 Speaker 2: Man, Dolphins season might turn around with concepcion. And I can't drop it so much. 00:50:52 Speaker 1: Drop right. I believe was one of the worst in the SEC. 00:50:56 Speaker 2: Okay, well, he's got a clear goal in mind, and I'm sure the Dolphins won. 00:51:00 Speaker 1: Well. Receivers, they got to work on their. 00:51:03 Speaker 2: Catching, I would say, so, all right, that's patre Patriots. 00:51:08 Speaker 1: Man. 00:51:08 Speaker 2: They're going to be around for a while, aren't they. You think Drake Mayn New England's just going to be in the thirties or late twenties for a while. If it's a success that they have, I. 00:51:16 Speaker 1: Think he's gonna be a bust. So I've protected that for two years. 00:51:20 Speaker 2: Well, then maybe they should go Ty Simpson here, you know, Matt, that would be a surprise. Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna pick it. But since ninety seven, there's only been one draft with only one quarterback in the first round, is that right? And that was twenty twenty two with Kenny Pickett going to the Picta. 00:51:34 Speaker 1: I remember that, and he didn't go until later in the first one. 00:51:37 Speaker 2: So I'm going to make it two drafts since ninety seven at least on my selections, I'm going to go defensive. End Hakeem Mezdor from Miami like him. 00:51:47 Speaker 1: Okay, by the way, some breaking news. Spirit Airlines is offering the US government an equity stake to buy the airline. 00:51:58 Speaker 2: You can be an owner. 00:51:59 Speaker 1: For those of you that think Spirit wasn't good enough, how about letting the government fly your plane. 00:52:07 Speaker 2: Sounds like they're desperate, they're gonna government. Man, have you ever flown Oh yeah, that was my airline of choice for a while. Is it? Like? 00:52:16 Speaker 1: Are there chickens on it? 00:52:17 Speaker 2: Like? What's it? 00:52:18 Speaker 1: Close? 00:52:19 Speaker 2: Close? Like? I don't want to disparage to find people over there, but like you know, sometimes you're you know, you can't lean back because your chair is not working correctly. They don't have working chairs. No, that's you know, there's not really TV or movies or Netflix on the Spirit Airlines, at least the ones I've never. 00:52:35 Speaker 1: Been on there. I haven't been on Spirit, haven't been on Frontier. What are the other ones? Whip? 00:52:41 Speaker 2: Well, well, you know, I don't fly private everywhere I go, mat. 00:52:44 Speaker 1: I don't fly private either. I just I'm me. I will either fly Delta American or you now know. 00:52:50 Speaker 2: No, oh see, you got to muck it up a little bit. Sometimes spirit and a legion. There's just a different experience. 00:52:56 Speaker 1: Yes, it's experienced I'm trying to avoid. Yeah, well, I mean I wouldn't even fly southwest really because I don't want to staying in line. Oh what was what was southwest? Point of not assigning seats? Why is that better? 00:53:14 Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean maybe it gets a little contentious at times when you don't have assigned seats, right, So what's the good It can't be quicker. It's gotta be quicker to not have assigned seats, correct. Yeah, you just let them go and they probably just fill it up themselves. There's no like, oh that's my seat. No, you're in my seat, ma'am. He's in my seat. Can you get him out? I think that takes he takes longer. Yeah. 00:53:36 Speaker 1: I flew southwest one time and I ended up with Marilyn Manson next to me. 00:53:40 Speaker 2: Why then, is that why you don't do it again? 00:53:43 Speaker 1: You know that? 00:53:44 Speaker 2: True? 00:53:44 Speaker 1: And I flew middle Drew and I flew to from Vegas to LA on Southwest and Marilyn Manson set middle seat between the two of. 00:53:53 Speaker 2: Us, did not predict a middle seat, but was. 00:53:55 Speaker 1: He a middle seat he chose? Was he the talker? He never shut up for an hour. He did not stop talking. And we were like literally like, well, this guy shut up. 00:54:07 Speaker 2: I'd be excited to talk and then like. 00:54:09 Speaker 1: Would for ten minutes and then he just keeps going on and on. 00:54:13 Speaker 2: He put in the air. 00:54:14 Speaker 1: Heard us tell the story. 00:54:15 Speaker 2: I mean vaguely, yes, I have, but I do want to play it. 00:54:18 Speaker 1: Up for the for the audience. Okay, yeah, he set middle seat between me and Drew, chose middle seat, left his girlfriend to sit by herself. 00:54:29 Speaker 2: Did not remember that detail, and set. 00:54:30 Speaker 1: Between us and just didn't shine and c and he said can I get you all a drink? And we were like sure, and then they came and he goes he points at me and go, he's got it. That's a rock star moves. I love that move from him. 00:54:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, but like I would have been like trying to put the earbud in my ear into like the twenty thirty mark. 00:54:51 Speaker 1: He had like five minutes where he was coming. I was on a TV show at the time, and I've told him that and he goes, oh, I have some ideas for TV shows, and he just came. 00:54:59 Speaker 2: Up with Yeah, open the floodgans with that one. 00:55:01 Speaker 1: All right. Finally, Seattle Seahawks, you know they now have an open spot at running back. Yeah, so I actually think they take the backup at Notre Dame jadarium price. You know, didn't even have to run it very much. But with Kenneth Walker out, they got to replace that thirty second pick. Seems perfect for me to get him. You get an extra year with him if you get him at the end of the first round, so I will take him again. 00:55:27 Speaker 2: The damn Chiefs getting a Super Bowl MVP in Kenneth Walker. They just cannot be stopped. 00:55:32 Speaker 1: But they needed it because they haven't had They haven't had that running back option in a couple of years because of injuries. 00:55:38 Speaker 2: So I like it right. Well, you know, Seattle, I'm going to get a good one too running back Notre Dame, Notre Dame. 00:55:44 Speaker 1: So there you go. 00:55:45 Speaker 2: That's the fight. 00:55:45 Speaker 1: So you have written down all the picks I have, We will compare them to the picks of everyone else. I hope you all have learned and gotten yourself ready for the draft. And I think this is all anybody's going to need to listen to. 00:55:59 Speaker 2: I will never think about vacuum salesman again the same way. 00:56:02 Speaker 1: And who is the guy that has two hands that are not. 00:56:05 Speaker 2: The same end, wasn't it? Kidik Sadik? 00:56:10 Speaker 1: Two hands, yeah, that are not consistent size. 00:56:15 Speaker 2: Be watching for that on draft. I have to work with him. 00:56:19 Speaker 1: I want you to be watching and se Yeah, here we go, he says he has consistent hands. Gimyan Sadik, look forward to it. How's he buy gloves? Oh? 00:56:31 Speaker 2: I mean like big and tall? Right? You got it for one? 00:56:36 Speaker 1: Thank you all very much. We will see you after the draft.
