00:00:02 Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome back to bat your Happy Hour. I'm Joe and I'm Serena, and we are here to recap episode three of Gen season episode three. 00:00:10 Speaker 2: Already, I know we're flying yeah, and you know what, Episode three was also action packed as well. I know we said episode two was really good, but we're really keeping the ball rolling into episode three with all this boy drama. 00:00:23 Speaker 1: Episode three started off a little more chill, yeah, and that's how I kind of thought the episode was going to go. And then all of a sudden, it was like royal rumble and like these royal rumble. 00:00:34 Speaker 3: It's like a royal rumble. 00:00:36 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like a it's like a wrestling reference. Okay, wrestling, but it is a it's like a WWF reference. 00:00:46 Speaker 3: Okay, I'm into it. 00:00:47 Speaker 1: But I did go to a WWF show when I was like fourteen. 00:00:51 Speaker 2: Really, yeah, is that age appropriate? I think so, I mean whatever, I guess wrestling is not real. I never followed age appropriate activities. Yeah, I think what I want to when I wanted. 00:01:01 Speaker 3: When I was like, Wow, you're a cool kid, look at you. Just a little revel. 00:01:05 Speaker 1: Okay, so let's go. Let's get into this episode. It starts off with Spencer, who's been pretty quiet. 00:01:14 Speaker 3: Yep. 00:01:15 Speaker 1: I don't think we've talked much about him. I did notice that his job is a pet portrait entrepreneur. 00:01:25 Speaker 3: Yeah, I have some questions about that. 00:01:27 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not really sure what that is, but whatever I mean, I I'm not judging. 00:01:32 Speaker 2: I don't know what podcast, but I think a lot of people with pets would take their animal to get sketched or. 00:01:41 Speaker 3: Drawn or have a portrait out of them. 00:01:43 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:01:43 Speaker 3: My aunt has one. 00:01:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, I think a lot of people do, and I could see us doing that. So maybe it's maybe it's a wildly business could be, especially if he doesn't have much competition, But I will say, yeah, Spencer. One thing I did keep in mind with Spencer is the few guys, well at least Grant, who we interviewed, had mentioned Spencer a few times, which means he's one of the more likable guys in the house. 00:02:09 Speaker 3: Seems like a likable guy. 00:02:10 Speaker 1: Yeah, he seems very chill, because we're not getting that from a few of the guys at least. 00:02:16 Speaker 2: But anyways, most of the guys I would say are not that shill, but Spencer's sheill. They do a helicopter date I'm gonna be honest, this date activity fell a little flat for me. I feel like the helicopter dates need to be paired with something else, like a helicopter and a yacht, or a helicopter and a beach. 00:02:34 Speaker 1: Day or. 00:02:37 Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean? 00:02:37 Speaker 1: Yeah, I do, because. 00:02:38 Speaker 2: When they're up there, it's hard to hear, and I feel like there's not a ton of talking. 00:02:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, I just well, that's the thing. It's either because yeah, I was gonna say, with this date lacks is conversation and. 00:02:50 Speaker 3: We're just like activity And. 00:02:52 Speaker 1: I don't know if it's I don't know if it's just because they're in a helicopter and it's loud, or. 00:02:59 Speaker 3: Maybe they don't have a lot of chemistry. 00:03:00 Speaker 1: That's what I'm thinking. Doesn't really seem like they do. 00:03:03 Speaker 2: I just think with the helicopter day, it ends up feeling like Jen and Spencer are sitting and talking in a helicopter and then cut to the night portion and they're sitting and talking at a table. 00:03:12 Speaker 1: He's just like, all right, now it's my time to open up and tell you that I've been cheated on. 00:03:20 Speaker 2: So yeah, he was engaged, yep, and they owned a home together, he said. 00:03:25 Speaker 1: And then he said he uncovered some things. 00:03:30 Speaker 3: She said. 00:03:30 Speaker 2: Two months before the wedding, she came back from a trip packed her bag, was like, I need some time to think and went Emma to the parents' house. Which I feel like I'm always deep in like these random sagas on TikTok these days, And I watched one recently about this girl that her fiance like ended their engagement, like right before their wedding, and I feel like it's always about cheating. 00:03:54 Speaker 1: Yeah. I just like the way the way he phrased it was kind of like. 00:03:59 Speaker 3: He said, I uncovered. 00:04:00 Speaker 1: Yeah, he said, come alone. 00:04:02 Speaker 3: I'm thinking I'm laying in bed. 00:04:03 Speaker 2: I'm thinking it's three am, and I uncover that she was cheating on me. And it's like, well, I don't think in the banks of your memory that information existed. 00:04:13 Speaker 3: I think that you maybe went through some of her. 00:04:15 Speaker 1: Shit maybe, but we don't we don't know that. We don't know that. 00:04:18 Speaker 3: I'm not accusing you of anything, Spencer. 00:04:20 Speaker 2: I'm just saying we're missing some pieces to the story on how you uncovered that she was cheating on you. 00:04:26 Speaker 1: Well, it also it also could have been like maybe he was having those feelings and thinking, maybe she is potentially maybe she was showing signs of potentially cheating on him. And then when they got some time apart, he started thinking and replaying back totally. 00:04:44 Speaker 3: Maybe he did put the pieces together and is no mind. 00:04:46 Speaker 2: Maybe he had a weird feeling already, and then laying there he was like, this doesn't add up, and this doesn't add up, and she said this, so maybe he did. But the way he said it, like, oh, I uncovered that she was cheating. 00:04:59 Speaker 3: I was like, wait, I feel like we're missing something here. 00:05:02 Speaker 1: Now, I will say, I want your opinion on this, right because when you go on a show like The Bachelor att it has been a thing, it's like it's usually works in your favor to open up about your past and be vulnerable, right. 00:05:20 Speaker 3: Really, because it's what connects you. 00:05:23 Speaker 1: And it's like, if you get the one on one time early on, you should do it. Then I don't know if I agree with that because I feel like it's early. It's early in gen's process and you're kind of dumping your past trauma on to her at the very peak, at the very not peak, at the very beginning of forming a relationship with this person. 00:05:51 Speaker 2: Yeah, but I also think it's hard when you're an early one on one because with his story, for example, I feel like it's relevant because it's his dating history and we're on a dating show. 00:06:04 Speaker 1: Yeah, but if she asks, yeah, I'm. 00:06:06 Speaker 3: Sure she did. 00:06:07 Speaker 2: Though I'm sure she said, like, tell me about you know, your past relationship. 00:06:10 Speaker 1: Obviously I don't think we saw. I think he kind of you. 00:06:12 Speaker 3: Think she didn't ask about his past relation. 00:06:14 Speaker 1: Changed just like I want to bring something up, but I think that's. 00:06:17 Speaker 3: Okay too, like to lay it out there. 00:06:19 Speaker 2: I don't know this story particular, I think makes total sense for him to share on this one on one day of like I was engaged and I found and she was cheating on me and the relationship ended. You know, Like, I think that's very relevant when you're going into a new serious relationship. But I also understand what you're saying. I mean, like there was things I didn't even tell you until we got off the show. 00:06:39 Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I also think I forget because I've been so I'm so far removed. But how fast things move in Bachelor, they do. 00:06:49 Speaker 2: And you also just never know when you're gonna get that kind of undivided time again, and he's probably thinking, like, this is a big story, a big part of my life and something that I've gone through, and I don't want to have the anxiety of am I going to get interrupted if I'm telling her this on a group date? So there is comfort in like having control over the space and the conversation. 00:07:12 Speaker 3: Well, I think he did the right thing. 00:07:14 Speaker 1: Yeah, and she seemed to be she seemed to enjoy the fact that he opened up. But I will say I don't really like if like I don't really see sparks flying. Yea, but what I what Jen. 00:07:28 Speaker 2: See seeming very comfortable with each other. But it doesn't Yes, sparks aren't necessarily flying for me. 00:07:32 Speaker 1: What Gen seems to be into. 00:07:35 Speaker 2: Is the aggressor Yes, that's like that's she likes to be aggressively pursued. 00:07:40 Speaker 1: Yeah, at this point, like that is because those are the few guys that are being more aggressive, which we see moving forward, We're going on. 00:07:49 Speaker 3: To and you can see sexual chemistries like high on her list. 00:07:54 Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to the group date. Uh, and we see like Sam m is doing interviews where I think he thinks he's on a different show. I think he thinks he's on like the Ultimate Fighter or something, because I'm very confused he is. Really he's very angry, I will say, And a lot of these interviews. 00:08:20 Speaker 2: Hate Steven hate literally hates seven so much, and he claims to love Jen. We're getting another interview of a guy being like, it's gonna be me and her. I can't see her with anyone else. I'm leaving here with this girl, and I always want to be like, let's get to. 00:08:37 Speaker 3: Know her first. 00:08:38 Speaker 2: Yeah, Let's share a few more makeouts, Let's ask a few more questions, Let's do literally anything together, because you don't know her at this point, and she doesn't know you. 00:08:49 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:08:49 Speaker 2: All these guys, so many of them, are like, that's my wife. I'm leaving here engaged to Jen. I can't see her with any of these other guys. And it's like, guys, you literally don't know this girl yet. Let's take a breath. Okay, it's a lot, I get it, the show's a lot, but. 00:09:03 Speaker 1: It feels like in a long time, this is this is the first time in a long time that we're getting It's just it seems really much like a competition and a fucking pissing contest amongst these guys where it's like, you know, you could lose the tough guy act because you just went on a show about falling in love and being vulnerable. So like the tough guy I think. 00:09:29 Speaker 3: Could just leave it at the door. 00:09:31 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we don't. It's it's unnecessary here, it doesn't work in your favor. 00:09:36 Speaker 2: Yeah, And last week we did say Devin is exuding that I'm a competitor energy and this is a competition and I want to win, and I feel like sam M we're seeing that from him this week. 00:09:47 Speaker 1: But double but also in Samm's defense, Jen seems to be really into him. 00:09:55 Speaker 3: Yeah, so she does seem really into him. 00:09:57 Speaker 1: So it's like if it maybe he in his head he's like, well, I'm just going to keep stepping on the gas because she's into it and my goal is her. 00:10:08 Speaker 2: So yeah, and I agree with that, like he might be like, I'm getting positive feedback from this aggressive approach, and so it was Devin last week from Jen. So if that, if they're reading the room, it's like, okay, well I'm going to take that approach because that seems to be what's working. The thing with Sam e M and Jen is I've yet to see like an emotional connection between them. They just seem to have major sexual chemistry, so I'm waiting for that to kind of arise as well. 00:10:38 Speaker 1: He yeah, and samm keeps saying, let the main thing be the main thing, the. 00:10:44 Speaker 2: Main thing, will say the main Thing, the main saying the main thing. Something I've never heard before. 00:10:57 Speaker 1: They walk into an auditorium where it's the thunder down under guys. Why why are you laughing at that? 00:11:04 Speaker 3: Were you familiar with them before? 00:11:06 Speaker 1: Yeah? The eight hundred times. Never think I see a thunder down under poster. 00:11:11 Speaker 3: Oh I've never heard of it, and I realized it was in Vegas too. 00:11:14 Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're in an auditorium and there's guys stripping, so we all know that the guys are now going to strip. And yeah, like who I mean, who stood out to you for this? It's not like the guys having to perform. I would really truly hate that like this, This is also like one of my nightmares. 00:11:37 Speaker 3: Yeah, you would hate this so much. 00:11:39 Speaker 1: I hate the faking energy and. 00:11:41 Speaker 2: That it doesn't mean they're faking it. It just might be more their thing than your thing. 00:11:46 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm saying I would you would have I would have to for it. Yeah, I would have to. 00:11:50 Speaker 2: I thought this was a fun competition. If I was Jen, I'd be like, this is fun. 00:11:56 Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think a lot of a lot of the guys made it made it fun. I would say Devin actually ended up doing really well because he was somebody that was more nervous and I thought he was funny. 00:12:04 Speaker 2: He stood out to me for sure in this competition because yeah, he didn't take it that. The thing is with these the person to me that always stands out the most is a person that doesn't take it that seriously or puts their own personal spin on the competition. I think Devin to both of those things, which is why he was memorable. 00:12:25 Speaker 1: But Jonathan won the Fireman, which I think he's. 00:12:29 Speaker 3: I love Jonathan. 00:12:30 Speaker 1: He's great. 00:12:30 Speaker 3: He's he's so great. 00:12:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not getting any drama around him. He seems very likable with everyone. He's handsome, like I do. I do really like him. 00:12:42 Speaker 3: Yeah, he's great. 00:12:44 Speaker 1: But we have to talk about the other Sam sam n who is our guest uh later this week, so make sure you check that out because we're going to be interviewing him. He had one of the more awkward catwalks because he stopped it in such a a such an aggressive way. You know. It was like stop the music, stopped music, and I thought it was gonna be like hold up remix and yeah, I was like, and then he was gonna come with a different style. I was like, Oh, this neck, this is fun. 00:13:15 Speaker 3: I thought. 00:13:16 Speaker 2: When no music started and they handed him a mic, I thought he was gonna sing because I think he'd mentioned like being inquired or something, so I was like, maybe he's gonna like rap or sing or like do a little flirty strip tease with the mic. I don't know, but I don't think anyone was expecting this. Yeah. 00:13:36 Speaker 1: Okay, no, I mean no, I mean you guys saw it if you watch the episode. Obviously you're listening to the recap because you mostly watched the episode. But yeah, he kind of just like. 00:13:47 Speaker 2: Decided to bear it all in a different way. That's how he presented it. So instead of like physically bearing it all, he decided to emotionally bear it all, which I think is a really nice sentiment. 00:14:00 Speaker 1: Yeah, listen, I think if he just didn't say, hey, Jen, I'm falling in love with you and then kind of just drop the mic and walk off, it would have still been okay. Watching him, I felt anxiety through the screen and what I truly think happened because we see him he gets hurt. When they were like practicing. 00:14:23 Speaker 3: He just saw he's really uncomfortable. 00:14:24 Speaker 1: He was extremely uncomfortable, and I think he was so uncomfortable and then he felt that he had to perform at such a high level, didn't know what to do, was probably embarrassed hy stage, fright, came up with this idea, didn't really land. It was in his head as he was performing it in speaking and fell apart word vomited, threw the love word out there and then instantly probably felt awful and embarrassed and walked out stage. And it also didn't help because a lot of the guys you see Sam and Thomas are kind of like laughing, and it seems like guys are making fun of him. 00:15:07 Speaker 2: Do you think he went out there planning to say I'm falling in love with you or do you think it just came out? 00:15:15 Speaker 1: I think he I think in his head it just went a little differently. 00:15:23 Speaker 2: I think I think I think his vision for the moment and his plan did not align with the execution and the response that he got like I think he pictured it one way and he went out with the best of intentions and it just didn't quite land. 00:15:41 Speaker 1: Definitely. I mean, this is this is I think this reminded me of like a Limo entrance that goes really bad. Yeah, but I think that's what it is. It's like the build up just became so heavy for him and then he fell apart. 00:15:54 Speaker 3: And he's like, I'm gonna say this. 00:15:56 Speaker 2: It's more in my comfort zone to like beare my feel He seems like a sensitive guy. It's in line with his personality. It's gonna, you know, make him stand out. And I think when he said it and the response fell flat, it was like, oh my god, Like my heart sank a little bit for him. And I don't think there's anything wrong with what he did. If I could tweak one thing, I would maybe say hold that I'm falling in love with you for a one on one chat, because I think that everyone was so caught off guard by that that it kind of buried all the nice things that he said prior to it, do you know what I mean? 00:16:33 Speaker 3: Like, I think if he just went it was I want to bear my soul and just like. 00:16:35 Speaker 2: Talked about his feelings for Jen in this process and was like, Jen, I'm here for you. I'm bearing it all like body, mind and spirit, like I think the and he may have made he needed to tie a bow on it and I'm falling in love with you. 00:16:49 Speaker 3: Just didn't do it. 00:16:49 Speaker 1: He may have meant to say, like I could see myself falling in love with you. He may have like missed the word he meant to say what he said. I will say this. When I was I was on Dancing with the Stars, I used to get a lot of like pushback from producers of like, you have to be more chatty after the dance because you're on like a fucking television show, so so you like Aaron Andrews is interviewing you, you have to have a little more to say. But I would just be such a mess after those dances because I was so in my head. I just I had such a bad stage fright. I couldn't really do it. And I preped something before in the trailer before the one dance, and I was like, I'm gonna say like I'm just so I'm so thankful and and and happy that all of my fans from Mexico to the United States. Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. That was awesome. Probably had a few too many drinks at the time. Vibe no one, no one, this is too this is too long in the trailer. But anyways, I'm like my fans from Mexico to the United States. And then when Aaron Andrews interviewed me, I said, I want to thank all my fans from New Mexico. Then I stopped talking, and I remember Allen looked at me, said, who do you know in New Mexico. It was one of the craziest things. That was one of the It was one of the crazy things that ever came out of my mouth. And I remember, I think that was the turning point for me. I think that was the turning point for me when I actually truly started becoming more comfortable in front of the camera and like stop caring because I was like, that's kind of as bad as it's going to. 00:18:33 Speaker 3: Get, so kind of it's definitely not good. 00:18:36 Speaker 1: I kind of went up from from there. But I asked Alan the story because he tells it it's I will. 00:18:42 Speaker 3: I definitely will. 00:18:45 Speaker 1: Bike like shut out to New Mexico and I've never even been to New Mexico at that time. But anyways, yeah, so I do feel sam. 00:18:55 Speaker 3: Then what Joe trying to say is we've all been there. 00:18:57 Speaker 2: Everyone has a story where they planned to say something it doesn't quite land. It's okay, but you know what, I was taken aback by the dude's response to it. It's one thing for there to be like an awkward silence, but there was definitely some serious like snickering going on, and like, yeah, I hate that. 00:19:15 Speaker 3: Embarrassment is such a hard feeling. 00:19:18 Speaker 2: It is such a horrible feeling to feel embarrassed and like to add on to someone's embarrassment by laughing at them. 00:19:25 Speaker 3: It just makes me feel really sad. 00:19:27 Speaker 1: And it's like, at the end of the day, you guys all look like idiots, like it's it's fun. 00:19:31 Speaker 2: You're all tearing your shirt off, keeping the stage like you're not like out here, like I know you all think you look sick, but like everyone's doing something a little bit silly, like his mate had just not gone quite as well as yours, But it like, who are you to sit there on your stool on stage and like laugh at the guy? 00:19:49 Speaker 3: I don't know. It made me sad. It made me sad, and then we didn't deserve that. 00:19:53 Speaker 1: We see Thomas and sam basically laughing at him after the competition, and then you see Devin sticks up for him. So I feel like this is a redemption moment for Devn of like he's now like the leader of sticking up for people who are getting bullied. 00:20:11 Speaker 3: Okay, well that's the stretch. He stuck up for one person. He's not leading anything. 00:20:14 Speaker 2: Yeah, but like he does get credit for this moment for sure, where sam M, oh my god, sam N and sam N I'm really I know it's like the last initial pronunciation is also just Samuel or Sammy sammy, like literally anything else but this. But sam N, for those of you listening, is the one that said I'm falling in love with you, and sam M is the one that is the competitor slash giggling. 00:20:42 Speaker 1: At sam N and Thomas too, which Thomas. 00:20:45 Speaker 2: N like, actually, Thomas N can just be Thomas now because Thomas A went home this week. 00:20:50 Speaker 3: Sorry Thomas A, You're gone. So Thomas is just Thomas. 00:20:53 Speaker 1: And Devin sticks up for him. So I thought that was a good moment for Devin. 00:20:57 Speaker 2: That was a great moment because sam n stands up and you can tell you's trying to front the situation of basically he's like apologizing for it almost, and Devin basically says, look, dude, don't apologize, Like if that's how you. 00:21:08 Speaker 3: Feel, like, own your feelings. 00:21:09 Speaker 2: You did nothing wrong, Like like these guys shouldn't be laughing at you. 00:21:14 Speaker 3: Everyone needs to mind their own business. 00:21:16 Speaker 1: And I feel like this this group, they're like all taking this shit like so seriously. 00:21:22 Speaker 2: Like it's like yes and no, like in some ways so seriously, in other ways not serious enough. 00:21:28 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's weird. I'm almost like we need, uh, we need to go back to the days of the Greg and Andrews where they're where they all become best friends in the world and they're having fun, because like these guys are actually making it to where it's like all right, like fucking I. 00:21:45 Speaker 2: Mean, I'm sure some of them are friends, you know, like you're really just saying the animosity, but I'm sure some of them are. 00:21:50 Speaker 1: It's just it seems it seems to be just so aggressive that like so early on, like you usually get this, I feel like we get this more like mid season. 00:21:58 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:21:58 Speaker 2: Usually it's like there's a few people that don't get along and like it like a straw breaks the camel's back in the middle of the season and they lose it on each other. But right out of the gate, I mean, sam M and Devin after Devon stands up for sam N, are like immediately going at each other. 00:22:14 Speaker 3: Devin I can totally. 00:22:15 Speaker 2: Understand as a controversial character and like is gonna rub some people the wrong way, but he also kind of seems like a you do you all do me kind of person. 00:22:22 Speaker 3: Sam M is so bothered by Devin and. 00:22:26 Speaker 2: They're just going at each other and they're talking about mutual respect and I'll you know, I don't even I don't even know what they're saying. It's just like a bunch of nonsense at this point. But it's not a good look. 00:22:37 Speaker 1: No, no, it's a bad it's a bad look all around. But now it is becoming I would say sam M is now starting to just like it's like okay, like peel it back a little bit. 00:22:51 Speaker 2: Because sam M is starting to instigate fights. Yeah, he's like going out of his way to star arguments. And then we see at the end of the group date, Devn gets the rows yeah, because he actually has a really good conversation with Jen and Sam Emm's like openly mocking him, like not even trying to hide it, Like he's like trying to piss off Devin. I'm curious to see if he peels back moving forward, because he might just be having one of it. 00:23:15 Speaker 1: Could just be this episode. 00:23:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe you know, the jet lags hitting him hard and he's just on the yeah, on the offense. 00:23:23 Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay. So then we see Aaron has a conversation with what seems to be somebody from the Air Force. 00:23:36 Speaker 2: It always jars me when I see a phone on the show, when I see a contestant with a piece of technology, I'm like, whoa, what is going on? 00:23:42 Speaker 1: And basically it seems like his boss or whoever it is for who hires for the Air Force is gives him an ultimatum of like you could have the job, you got to be back here in a week. If you're not here, it goes to somebody else. I'm assuming it's a high man hide demand job. He says it's his dream. 00:24:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like the training for Yeah. 00:24:03 Speaker 1: So, and he's a very like knowing his brother, his twin brother. They really seem to be quite opposite in and Noah is a lot like and I'm not saying Aaron isn't, but Noah's like fun and easy going. 00:24:20 Speaker 2: It doesn't know, it's very care free. It's a very like carefree spirit to. 00:24:24 Speaker 1: Him, where Aaron definitely is more of an intense, serious dude. Yeah, that's kind of what I get, at least from what I'm seeing on the show. But he is one of the guys on a group date of only four guys, which is strange's ever seen this. 00:24:40 Speaker 2: It's Jeremy who's on this. Jeremy Kim, Aaron, Aaron, and. 00:24:45 Speaker 1: Austin ye race card date. Nothing crazy. I actually thought Aaron was gonna win, but Austin won. 00:24:53 Speaker 3: Jeremy like stopped the car and did like a little makeout sash. 00:24:56 Speaker 1: Yeah, Jeremy shined on the state. Yeah, and I really like him, and I I think she really likes him. And he does get the group date rows, which then in turn we kind of see Aaron like, this was my last chance to see if there was something really there. I didn't get enough time. So for that reason, I'm gonna go follow my dreams, which I totally respect. That I think he made the right move. 00:25:18 Speaker 2: And I think by not enough time he meant like it's only week three. I just am not at the place where like I'm feeling like I can't lose this girl. 00:25:26 Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think he made the right decision too. 00:25:28 Speaker 1: Oh, he definitely made the right decision. And I think he went into the date like if this really goes well and like we really hit it off, and I get a lot of time. In that time, something forms, Yeah, maybe that'll change my mind. Yeah. 00:25:44 Speaker 2: He seemed to really go into the day open minded to Jen and using that time intentionally to help make his decision. And it just seemed like the decision he made was that he needed to leave and go follow his dream, which I think is amazing. 00:26:00 Speaker 3: I'm actually I was so happy for him when he got the call. 00:26:02 Speaker 1: He makes that decision. But before he does, well, Jeremy gets the group they rose. Then Aaron talks to Jen and basically tells her like I'm out. 00:26:10 Speaker 2: But before he leaves, to Jen at the cocktail party for the Rose ceremony the following night, yeah yeah, that's. 00:26:16 Speaker 1: That's where I'm at now. So he basically says like I'm out, which everything was fine, and then before he leaves, he says, but I just want to let you know there are some guys here that are not here for the right reasons. 00:26:30 Speaker 2: He said, aren't ready and or aren't here for the right reasons. He doubled down, which is always like, it's hard, it's always a stretch. 00:26:40 Speaker 1: Because the truth is anyone who is not there for let's call it the right reasons, which would probably be like I am on the Bachelorette, to gain a social media following or to become something in entertainment, right, Yeah, if that's the case, and that person says that, most likely the show errs. 00:27:07 Speaker 2: That yeah, or Aaron saying yo, so and so said that they're just here for social media, they're here for other opportunities, and they're like, they're not here for you. 00:27:15 Speaker 1: I think Aaron's comparing some of the other guys who are not as mature as him and basically saying, well, if they're not as mature as I am, they can't be ready for a serious relationship or an engagement, which that's not really true. 00:27:36 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:27:36 Speaker 2: I go back to what I said the last episode about Aaron is he kind of seems like a guy that's quite black and white, which is totally fine. And I actually do believe he is someone that is ready, Like he seems like he takes this process very seriously. He is ready for commitment, and like I believe that about him. But it is hard when you go to the lead and you say these things, and obviously, like I feel like we have a little bit more sympathy and perspective because we've talked to a lot of leads about what that does to their mental state to say, like, hey, I think he saw it was an act of protection for Jen and like a warning, but for her it's like something that's already nerve wracking, and like if you're not going to name names, then like she's just out here talking to all these people with a little bit of an extra guard up and like questioning intentions, and that's a hard place to be in for her as well. So it's just a bit of a messy situation. I don't think he had any ill intent if anything. I think he had good intention with what he was doing, But again I think it the landing wasn't quite there. 00:28:47 Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree. He ends up kind of stirring the pot, which always makes for good TV. Yeah, yeah, she freaks out, and that she basically tells, like the guys, if you're not here for the right reasons, like fucking figure or sit out, And then she pulls Marcus and talks to him. 00:29:02 Speaker 3: That was a great speech. She was like, Marcus, you want to go talk Marcus. 00:29:05 Speaker 1: I really like he's great. 00:29:06 Speaker 3: He's here for like there's no doubt doctor's here for the right reason. 00:29:09 Speaker 1: It's not even that like he's just cool, like he's laid back. He he seems to just be like in his own like doing his own thing. Like there's some guys like you could you could already tell. It's like Jeremy Grant. We just interviewed Spencer, Spencer Marcus. There seems to be guys that are just more like the guys that are a little more reserved and quiet at this point are probably. 00:29:31 Speaker 3: Just like more laid back. 00:29:32 Speaker 2: Well, you said when we were watching it, You're like, there's a lot of guys on this season trying to act like tough guys, and it's the guys that are more laid back that are probably actually the tough guys. 00:29:42 Speaker 3: Marcus is in the. 00:29:42 Speaker 2: Military, like he's Aaron Is, isn't he in the military too. He was going for pilot training for the Air Force, I believe. 00:29:53 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, But anyways, Yeah, I like Marcus. I think he's another I think he's a front runner. 00:29:59 Speaker 2: And at the first rows at the row ceremony, to which I feel like is always a good sign. 00:30:03 Speaker 1: Yeah. And then sam m m sam M, I know, I know it's terrible sam m in her talk and like him or dislike him because he's definitely a polarizing character on this show. She really likes it. 00:30:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, And I actually thought what he said when she asked, did my speech scare you at all? 00:30:25 Speaker 3: Or rattle you? 00:30:25 Speaker 2: And he was like no, because I know that those things don't apply to me. I know that I'm here for the right reasons, and I know that I'm ready for this commitment. 00:30:32 Speaker 3: I actually thought that was like a good response. 00:30:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, it was his only response. It was a good response. And then Jen, we see her interview basically say like, you can't fake passion or sincerity, but like, yeah you could, Like what are you talking about? You fake it like people think it's acting, like actors do it, soft porn, porn in. 00:30:54 Speaker 2: General voice on a regular basis sincerity Watch another reality. Jen seems to be quite a trusting person, which is a great quality. But I worry for her when I'm seeing the way that these guys are acting behind the scenes. 00:31:11 Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't fake passion. Oh yeah, you could pretty much fake anything. 00:31:19 Speaker 2: I think she is looking at it from a place, so she can't fake passion. You know, she can't fake it. 00:31:25 Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. I'm a little worried about Jen's picker. 00:31:30 Speaker 2: Jen's picker is a little jankie right now. I won't lie, but it doesn't mean that she can't get back on track. You know, we're only week three. There's still time for her. And you know what, there's some guys that we like that she likes, so we'll have to see. I'm curious to see where her top four falls because it seems like there's a lot of guys that she likes right now. You lost someone in your top four, which was Aaron Herb, and I lost someone in my top four predictions, which was Thomas a. 00:31:59 Speaker 3: So we're both down to the. 00:32:00 Speaker 1: Yeah, the Canadian left and Sor did the Chicago guy Hakim, who we really like. 00:32:04 Speaker 3: I know, I liked him. He had some funny interviews too. 00:32:08 Speaker 1: Oh I did enjoy. The last thing I will say is I did enjoy when Spencer told everyone to chill when all the guys were arguing, and it was kind of like I was like, thank god somebody said something, because what the fuck right? These guys gotta chill out. They can't like, have a drink, fucking if you don't drink, have a non alcoholic drink, chill out, Like, yeah, this is getting crazy. 00:32:31 Speaker 2: Yeah we don't have there's some seriously not chill dudes on this scenes. 00:32:35 Speaker 1: It's not that serious. It's just a reality TV but anyways, I. 00:32:40 Speaker 2: Don't know, but I just think that, like they need to take the romance is less seriously, and the conflict between the dudes and like these pre planned you know, we're gonna get time first and you guys are gonna fight and I hate you when I'm her favorite, blah blah blah. 00:33:01 Speaker 3: Like the dynamic between the guys. 00:33:03 Speaker 2: They need to take that less seriously, and they need to take their time with Gen more serious. 00:33:09 Speaker 3: They just need to focus on that. I'm not saying that they're not taking advantage of their time with Gen. 00:33:12 Speaker 2: They actually all seem very into Gen and all the chats that we've been seeing seem to be going really well. 00:33:19 Speaker 3: So maybe it's not about seriousness. Maybe they just all need to mellow out, like, yeah, send them to a spa for a date or something. 00:33:25 Speaker 1: Yeah, so I said they gotta chill out. It's just not that serious. But yeah, that's it. That's that's that's the recap for episode three. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Make sure you stay tuned.
