Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio Our one on this Wednesday.

00:00:06
Speaker 2: Morale is high. The Dan Nuts are ready to go. The Minister of Humor, Fritzie Seaton, Mark Paul ears truly in the back room. Guys already had our breakfast. Dylan whipping up some bagels and eggs and leftover meat from yesterday.

00:00:23
Speaker 3: I don't even know what it was.

00:00:26
Speaker 2: That was good, though. That's the way. I'm not a breakfast guy, but that's the way to start a day right there.

00:00:32
Speaker 3: That was good. All right, We're ready to go.

00:00:35
Speaker 2: Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk Live will join us coming up next hour. There's a lot of things to discuss NFL wise, because you got some players that are going to be released, you got free agency, the draft is coming up. You got a transitional tag with Daniel Jones. The NFL surprises you every couple of years, and you owe the commissioner's exemplest. I didn't know that existed. The Colts have played the transition tag on Daniel Jones. That means we're not going to franchise you. We're going to let you seek other offers if you want, and then we get to have the final say if we want to keep you. So it's it's kind of like saying we like you, but at a cost, at a price because Achilles surgery in the off season and you're not quite sure what you were going to get. We saw that in the first what nine to ten games of the season, it played really well. The Colts were one of the top stories in the NFL. Then he gets hurt. Now are you going to pony up how much money? And I think he's going to make around thirty seven million dollars if he comes back to the Colts that one year deal for thirty seven million dollars to maybe prove yourself again and then get another contract. The move that I'm really curious about, or the next move for this player is Kyler Murray.

00:01:54
Speaker 3: You know, my good buddy Kyler Murray.

00:01:57
Speaker 2: Because if I look back when he first started with Arizona, those first three years are respectable. I'll run down the numbers here. First year in Arizona, he completed sixty four percent of his passes, He threw for thirty seven hundred yards, and he had twenty touchdowns twelve interceptions.

00:02:16
Speaker 3: He was the Rookie of the Year.

00:02:18
Speaker 2: The next year, completed sixty seven percent, threw for thirty nine hundred yards, twenty six touchdowns, twelve interceptions.

00:02:26
Speaker 3: All very respectable.

00:02:28
Speaker 2: The third year he completed almost seventy percent of his passes. He had almost thirty eight hundred yards, twenty four touchdowns, ten interceptions. We're good. And then they signed him to the contract extension. Then all of a sudden, it was sixty six percent completion, twenty three one hundred yards, fourteen touchdowns, seven interceptions. Now there are rushing yards to go along with this, And then all of a sudden the er it was ten touchdowns, five interceptions, and eighteen hundred yards. Now he did come back in twenty twenty four almost sixty nine percent completion, almost thirty nine hundred yards, twenty one touchdowns, eleven interceptions. These are all respectable. So there's one, two, three, four, four seasons that are respectable that most teams middle of the road and lower would go sign up for that. In fact, a few teams in the upper tier might go, hey, I'll take that any day. Then you had last year he completed sixty eight percent and he threw fro under one thousand yards, six touchdowns, three interceptions. Now they of course he was a healthy scratch, it felt like, and they were done with him. Now the question is what Kyler Murray can you get? Can I bring back what he was those first three years, four of his first six years? Very respectable, But a team like Minnesota, you got him inside on turf, You've got some receivers we like Kevin O'Connell as a head coach. Maybe that is sort of his reclamation because we see this and we're going to see this again this year, like who is this year Sam Donald? And maybe we just named the award after Sam Donald because it's the reclamation award goes too and maybe it's Daniel Jones. But you have some of these players, you know, Geno Smith might end up in Minnesota, end up starting in Minnesota, so you have a couple of the you know, is Tua Tua will be a reclamation project. The question is will he be good? Where's he going to land? Is he going to be a starter wherever he goes? But Kyler Murray to me is fascinating because I think it might have been last year where I said, I just feel like he's going to end up on the Jets, and I don't think that's a bad thing because I do think Kyler Murray is better than any other quarterback who was going to be coming out in the draft, aside from Fernando Mendoza. Maybe the Dolphins, but it feels like Malik Willis is the front runner there in Miami. But if I got Kyler Murray, now, do I want him in a big media market? Not necessarily. He doesn't put himself out there. I don't know how approachable he is. Does he want to do interviews? Does he want to be the face of the franchise? But then you have that negative, that cloud that's always going to be hanging over him.

00:05:33
Speaker 3: I don't know if he wants to be great.

00:05:36
Speaker 2: I think he's so talented he can be great, but I don't know if he wants to be consistently great or better than that, a leader of a Hall of Famer. I don't know if he wants to do that. And that's what would make me take pause. Do I think he has the talent, Yes, but he's always had the talent. I just don't know if he has motivation. And when they have to put something in your contract that says you got to study, man, that that blinking light is not going off anytime soon, and that's what would make me nervous. I don't know if he wants to study. He wants to be the first guy in, the last guy out. And I know it sounds like a cliche, but for him, it shouldn't be a cliche. You got to shake this reputation and if not, then go play baseball. But he's had so much talent that in high school. If you look at his high school video, it's not fair. Even in college he was electric. But when you get to the pros, I don't care how good you are, I don't care what position you're playing. You have to then put in the time, put in the work, because now you're playing against equals. And for Kyler Murray, I would certainly kick the tires on him. If I'm the Jets, he's not going to cost me a lot, or if I'm Minnesota, he's not going to cost me a lot. But can he give me an upgrade? And I would say yes, But you have to have that meeting with him where you say and you have to look him in the eye as I once did, and you just have to ask him, tell me how you're going to lead this team. Tell me why we shouldn't believe anything that we heard with Arizona, and then let him tell you. I believe he can show you, but I need him to tell I need to hear it. I need him to actually believe the words he's telling me, not a Johnny Manzel Combine interview where he's going to be what do you well, let's see what do you need? Yeah, and then I'll ask him about his wife and then what's his wife name?

00:07:44
Speaker 3: Mary? Yeah?

00:07:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll ask him about Mary. They're going to love this Kyler Murray. I just want to know do you want to be great? Are you willing to put in the time? And Daniel Jones, you got a one year deal that you're going to have to prove yourself again. You get thirty seven million, which is kind of where I see him anyway. I think he's in that, you know, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold three years, one hundred million. But coming off the Achilles, somebody wants to come in and pay a little bit more. But then the Colts they got rid of Anthony Richardson, so you you don't have real negotiating power. I don't think with Daniel Jones if he decides he wants to go someplace else, somebody gives him a better offer, you don't want to match it, and then the Colts are back to square one. But the Kyler Murray situation, I think Bear's watching. We'll talk to Florio about this. And you know you're gonna have pro days coming up. You're gonna get artificially inflated where you're gonna go, oh my gosh, did you see that guy on his pro day? Happens every year, and you got to really be cautious. You almost have to remind yourself. Okay, let me see what he did on Saturday, not on a Tuesday in Bloomington eight seven, seven to three. 00:09:46
Speaker 4: Well?

00:09:47
Speaker 3: I have a couple of ways to word this one.

00:09:48
Speaker 5: I'm not sure which one one of them feels too mean, But the basic idea is, is Kyler Murray a better quarterback than we think? Okay, so I could say, is Kyler Mariy a better quarterback than we think?

00:10:00
Speaker 3: Yes? Or no? Very easy.

00:10:02
Speaker 5: The way I originally worded it was Kyler Murray is a bad quarterback?

00:10:06
Speaker 3: Wow?

00:10:07
Speaker 2: Perception or reality a bad I can't say he's a bad quarterback. I think he's got the talent to be very good, so I don't.

00:10:19
Speaker 5: But what is the perception of him. The perception of him is he's not very good?

00:10:22
Speaker 6: Isn't that?

00:10:24
Speaker 3: I think?

00:10:24
Speaker 2: The perception is he doesn't put in the time, he's not a leader. Maybe he doesn't care like Anthony Richardson. You might say, now he's a bad quarterback, but he does have talent. But Kyler Murray. There is proof of concept here, Like, all right, he's gone out and thrown for almost four thousand yards a couple of times.

00:10:45
Speaker 3: There's a lot of teams.

00:10:46
Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers would take those numbers right now, The Jets would take it. I mean there's quite a Dolphins would take it. Quite a few teams that would take those numbers. The problem is the name attached to those numbers. So I wouldn't be mean spirited saying it's a bad quarterback. Right What was the other way you worded it?

00:11:08
Speaker 3: Is Kyler Murray a better quarterback than we think?

00:11:14
Speaker 2: Or maybe you could say what kind of quarterback is Kyler Murray?

00:11:21
Speaker 3: Is he very good? Good? Average? Stay away? Yeah, Paul?

00:11:30
Speaker 7: Is this a shared blame situation where the Arizona Cardinals they can take down a lot of people, They've disappointed a lot, and it's almost like the Jets and the Cardinals are the places quarterbacks don't really want to go. And I'm wondering if Kyler Murray will get the same treatment Sam Darnold got when he left that it's partially the fault of the team.

00:11:50
Speaker 2: Well, it took a while before Sam proved that it was the Jets who were the problem. And Kyler was better with a bad team like Arizona than Sam was with a bad team like the Jets. So Kyler Murray is talented enough to win games. I think Sam Darnold was brought in, he was drafted because he was the safe choice. He just he's not a difference maker where he's going to win the games single handedly, like Kyler Murray has shown that he can.

00:12:22
Speaker 3: Yes, he also had to kind of prove that the Jets and the Panthers were the problem. Yeah.

00:12:28
Speaker 5: Yeah, forty nine ers, he didn't really get a shot Vikings he did, but he did well there.

00:12:33
Speaker 3: Yeah.

00:12:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know how you freeze that with Kyler Murray because it feels like he has proven that he can be very good. And yes, it is a franchise that is guaranteed to disappoint, but okay, Arizona got a great tight end, Trey mcbriant. They got Marvin Harrison Junior, the third that everybody thought, this is a generational talent and it's been a slow build, so they they did surround him with talent.

00:13:02
Speaker 5: Yeah, seedon what if I said Kyler Murray's Murray's biggest problem is perception or reality.

00:13:08
Speaker 3: So I feel like he has a big perception problem, all right, for.

00:13:12
Speaker 5: A guy you never see him, you never hear anything. But the little bits that he did bubble up. We were like, man, that's not great.

00:13:17
Speaker 2: Kyler Murray's problem is Kyler Murray. In my opinion, it goes back to those who are extremely talented. And I always point out, you know, Jordan had all this talent, but he worked so hard when he got to the NBA. Tiger had all this talent, but when he got to the PGA tour, he worked tirelessly. He worked, you know, harder than anybody.

00:13:43
Speaker 3: Did you know?

00:13:44
Speaker 2: JaMarcus Russell had incredible talent. He just he's always had incredible talent. He just didn't want to work. And that happens with these players that it's so easy for you. You are the star. You're the star there in high school, star in college. Now you're gonna be the number one overall pick. Hey, I could have played baseball if I wanted to. Hey, I'm gonna do. I'll go back to Michael Vick. And that's the cautionary tale. And I think I even told Mike when I've had him on before he should talk to Kyler Murray because it's very similar. You know, Michael Vick didn't put in the time. He was just an elite athlete that you feel like, I don't have to until you do.

00:14:26
Speaker 3: I don't care who it is you do.

00:14:28
Speaker 2: And Kyler is sort of like maybe a right handed Michael Vick, not as explosive, you know, straight ahead speed, I don't think, but quickness. And he's completing sixty seven, sixty eight, sixty nine percent of his passes, Like those aren't pedestrian. And you're throwing for twenty five, twenty six, twenty seven touchdowns, you're throwing for thirty eight thirty nine hundred yards. Okay, in today's NFL. Those are all respectable. But I just think Kyler is Kyler's problem. We'll settle on a poll question. I do have, according to DraftKings, the twenty twenty six odds to have the fewest wins. We skew negative. We'll have that for you coming up. We'll take a break. Operator Tyler sitting by. You'll take your phone calls today. We're back after this and Patrick Show.

Speaker 2: Miami of Ohio edges Toledo to stay undefeated. They're now thirty and oh, the fourth team in the last thirty five years to start out thirty and oh, which a toss state back in twenty thirteen, Kentucky twenty fourteen, Gonzaga in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one. Seven of Miami's thirty wins have come by three points or less, tied for the most of any team in Division One. Stat of the Day brought to you by Peniny America, the official trading cards of this award nominated program. Here's a problem. I have with Miami of Ohio. Now, I'm fine if they lose one game, they don't win their conference. I hope that they would still get an opportunity to be whatever whatever seed you want to put them in. Maybe they're the fifteen. I'd like for them to get into the tournament. I hope they get into the tournament. I think it's a great story. Certainly if they're undefeated, they're getting into the tournament. But they don't have a Wally Zerbiak. Because when Miami of Ohio had their tournament run and they had Wally Zerbiak, they had a great player, a player who would go and play in the NBA. This Miami of Ohio team is sort of like, Man, these guys pass the ball and they share and there's a balanced scoring attack. Now those are all good things, but when we're watching the tournament, we want to see somebody, you know, like a gymmer for debt. Where you go, man, you gotta watch BYU Steph at Davidson. They're not winning the tournament, but they're winning our hearts. We get to tune in to watch and that's what Because for the most part, college basketball looks all the same. It's like, all right, yeah, you got some good teams. There's a couple of good players, but they're not going to be around. Although Aj Debantsa said that not a guarantee that he would leave BYU. PAULI told me that he would bet one of his fingers that Aj Debantsa does not come back to BYU Sprie.

00:18:15
Speaker 3: He's staying for March.

00:18:18
Speaker 2: He won't be staying to the end of the school year. I can pretty much guarantee that. But you look at college basketball, and we need those names, we need to go oh man, I can't wait to see that guy. And there's a couple of those players, and Debans is one of those players. Darren Peterson is one of those players. Boozer is one of those players. You probably have five to seven players that you're going to come away going wow. Now, there's going to be a couple of players that come out of nowhere who were going to be kind of the ah, I'm rooting for that guy or that team. Happens every year, But you know, you start to look at March Madness and Miami of Ohio is a nice story and I hope that they win there. I hope they're undefeated and then you know there's no argument here. Although Bruce Perrow, former Auburn head coach now an analyst, he's like, Nope, they shouldn't be in if they lose a game. And then somebody pointed out, well, Bruce, your son is coaching Auburn now and they're kind of a bubble team, are you there's no conflict of interest? Right, He's probably saying Auburn should be in because this is the argument that we get. How would they do if they were in the SEC? I get it, but they're not. You're undefeated, you won every game that we put in front of you. There's something to be set and I know, but you know what March madness is all about. One game. You only have to be better than that team for one game. And if Miami of Ohio ends up playing an SEC school and it's only for one game, it's not a best of seven, it's one game, one and done. And that's the fun part because there are times where you go, how did that team beat that team because it was one game on a neutral site.

00:20:16
Speaker 7: Yeah, pulling your Miami, Ohio team has seven guys averaging in double figures. Way too balanced for you?

00:20:22
Speaker 6: Right?

00:20:22
Speaker 3: Yes?

00:20:22
Speaker 7: And the of is gone. It's back in the day when we were younger, it was Miami of Ohio. Now the ove is gone. It's Miami Ohio officially.

00:20:30
Speaker 2: Man, well, I'm grandfathered in since my old girlfriend went to.

00:20:36
Speaker 3: Miami of Ohio High in school. Miami, Ohio, Yeah.

00:20:41
Speaker 5: I think one of the coolest. Ohio has one of the coolest town names I've ever heard.

00:20:46
Speaker 3: Not Miami, Ohio, because that's Oxford. Oxford. Yeah, Defiance, Ohio.

00:20:52
Speaker 5: Defiance College. One of my brothers went there, easily, one of the coolest sounding places of all time.

00:20:57
Speaker 3: Defiance. Yeah, yes, stubborn Indiana, not a real time Defiance.

00:21:04
Speaker 7: Ron Harper went to Miami Ohio.

00:21:06
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, at a Kaiser High School in Dayton. Ron Harper, Uh yeah.

00:21:13
Speaker 7: Zerbiak, they had a kid named Devin Davis just before Zerbiak. Really good player helped them.

00:21:18
Speaker 9: Get the turn.

00:21:19
Speaker 2: Randy Ayres played at Miami of Ohio. He later went into the NBA coaching. He might still be coaching, but he was a really good player there. Darryl Hedrick I went to his basketball camp. He taught defense. I didn't like that basketball camp. That was terrible. I show up and you know, you're slapping the floor and you're doing defensive drills. I'm like, why am I paying one hundred and fifty dollars to come to learn defense? You should be paying me show you some offense here. Yes, Dodd, why was.

00:21:53
Speaker 10: It ever called Miami of Ohio? Because then it sounds like you've got a complex. No, it's the other Miami, oh Miami nice nice weather hurricane. That's actually Myami of Ohio.

00:22:02
Speaker 3: Well, what would you then what it's called now?

00:22:05
Speaker 10: It should have always been Miami, Ohio and Miami Hype in Ohio. Calling it at any point Miami of Ohio makes it sound like whether everyone knows Miami's the Hurricanes where the other in Miami school?

00:22:14
Speaker 3: Well, you have to you have to differentiate yourself from the U.

00:22:17
Speaker 10: Right, I'm gonn say you have to do something, But I would have gone all along with what it is now as supposed to be of Ohio. Sounds weird and it feels like you got a complex because you're not the Miami Hurricanes, that other school that's also called Miami.

00:22:29
Speaker 3: Thank you, Todd. Back to this, dude, all right, so we have our pole question.

00:22:34
Speaker 2: You know what, here's our poll question is Kyler Murray still a starting quarterback in the NFL?

00:22:39
Speaker 3: Yes or no? All right, let's go around the room. Is Kyler Murray still starting quarterback? Todd yes, Seaton, yes, Marvin yes, Pool, yep, i'd say yes too. Not much of a pole question, No, it's not.

00:22:54
Speaker 2: Well, we've had pole questions where it's like ninety eight percent one way or another and sorry, no, wait, you're.

00:23:02
Speaker 3: Not all in on that. I'm fine with it. Yeah, this is the guardian of pole questions there. I'm not gate keeping the poll.

00:23:08
Speaker 5: Okay, I'm just saying if we had we went five for five in here with the same answer that doesn't normally happen.

00:23:13
Speaker 3: Yes, yes, Okay.

00:23:15
Speaker 7: Let's say Kyler Murray were was we're a stock. Would you short that stock and think it's going to get worse his career or would you invest in that stock and think you're buying low and it's going to be better.

00:23:26
Speaker 3: I'm buying low. Yes. Yes. If I said you could have Kyler.

00:23:33
Speaker 2: Murray or to a tongue of Ilo as a stock as his stock, right that alone, that that's the comparison. Well, these guys are both available, yes, Marvin.

00:23:46
Speaker 11: But one you would take in a heartbeat and the other one I'm not sure.

00:23:52
Speaker 2: Well, wait a minute, who are you taking in a heartbeat? Is that a come on, Kyler, Oh, I don't know. There. You just said, is he a starting quarterback? Everyone just said yes, without blinking. Is to a starting quarterback?

00:24:06
Speaker 3: Not right now? No?

00:24:07
Speaker 11: No, So you just answered my question.

00:24:09
Speaker 2: I know, but I can only tell you what NFL people in the NFL circles, I gave you my opinion, DP.

00:24:16
Speaker 3: I was confused by I would start him. I'm saying that someone could start I.

00:24:21
Speaker 11: Was confused by the confusion you guys like which one is the answer?

00:24:25
Speaker 2: All of a sudden, your arms are longer than everybody else, and now you're an experts.

00:24:28
Speaker 11: I cut my fingers down by the way, I know you did.

00:24:33
Speaker 2: Yes, Marvin raises his his arm, banana see his hands.

00:24:38
Speaker 3: Yes, Paul two.

00:24:39
Speaker 7: Years ago, two years ago to a three for forty seven hundred yards, thirty touchdowns. It was a seventy percent passer. That was only two years ago, and he's been relatively healthy since that.

00:24:50
Speaker 8: I know.

00:24:50
Speaker 2: I'm just telling you in the NFL inner circles, don't count out to a getting a landing spot like Atlanta. What about Atlanta for Tua. What about Kyler in Atlanta? See that fascinates me with those weapons and bijon and you got him. I got him indoors. I like that he's going to play at least ten games. Indoors. Get him on fast turf boom. Maybe you have some.

00:25:24
Speaker 6: You know, when.

00:25:24
Speaker 3: I I did this with Justin Fields, I thought he could play, and I did God dang it and be like, man, he can play, he can play, he can kind of play. Maybe he can't play, but I tried. I tried to wish that into happening. Yes, Paul.

00:25:46
Speaker 7: In his short stint with Pittsburgh, Justin Fields was four and two as a starter, sixty seven percent passer, by far, the best of his career. Again, it was only six starts, five touchdowns, one pick, and a lot of rushing yard with Steelers. He was really solid. I know, maybe I'm rooting for Kyler. You know we got off to a rough start in our relationship. But you know, that's water under the bridge, or Todd will say sometimes that's water over the bridge.

00:26:17
Speaker 3: Drown yes, Ton.

00:26:18
Speaker 10: Instead of saying stock or you know who's you know draft is high, who's a starting quarterback? Who's not a starting quarterback right now? What if we asked whose best years are still ahead of him? Kyler or Tua? What if we worded it that one. Okay, all right, we're not we're not labeling stock or high school.

00:26:32
Speaker 3: Does that change anything?

00:26:33
Speaker 10: I think it does a little bit as far as who's the starting because you said he's not a starting quarterback right now, but he could be, which led me to that thought.

00:26:39
Speaker 6: Then whose best years are still ahead?

00:26:41
Speaker 12: It's more hopeful, you know, we usually don't do that, and Todd nobody, nobody skews negative like like Todd does pained.

00:26:49
Speaker 6: Me to share that out as opposed to which one sucks for?

00:26:54
Speaker 2: I have the DraftKings odds. Okay, however you want to phrase the poll question there? See if you even say.

00:27:01
Speaker 5: I've already I've got seven different Kyler Murray poll questions up there right now, so we're doing them all.

00:27:06
Speaker 3: All right? That's good. Todd called for Kyler Murray.

00:27:09
Speaker 2: See if he wants to actually join us, we have at Okay, DraftKings just presented me the twenty twenty six NFL season odds to have the fewest wins.

00:27:20
Speaker 12: Marvin will start with you the Miami Dolphins, Paul, the Las Vegas Raiders. Todd, I'm gonna stay with the Cardinals theme and go Arizona.

00:27:32
Speaker 3: Seaton. I'm going to also say the Miami Dolphins.

00:27:34
Speaker 2: It is the Miami Dolphins. Second on the list, Marvin, the Raiders, Paul.

00:27:42
Speaker 3: I'll stick with the Raiders, God, the Jets, Seaton.

00:27:46
Speaker 2: We're gonna say the Raiders. It's the Cardinals. Yeah, yeah, they're not gonna stay with or without. That's without Kyla. Then it's the Raiders, then the Jets. Those are it's top heavy with those four So Dolphins plus three to ninety Cardinals plus four hundred Raiders plus five hundred Jets plus six fifty and then takes a big leap to the Cleveland Browns plus twelve hundred, and then a big leap to the Panthers. My Carolina Panthers playoff bound Carolina Panthers.

00:28:26
Speaker 3: They're bailing plus eighteen hundred.

00:28:29
Speaker 10: Yes, Todd, how high are the Titans with Robert Salad, they're gonna they gotta sounds like they've got a big jump. And how they're gonna do that, I'm getting, Oh, I don't know if you're doing one out of time you gonna go all the way from the bottom to the.

00:28:42
Speaker 2: I'm going to the top down to the bottom, because the top is like the best odds to be the worst.

00:28:49
Speaker 3: See. Then it's the Titans, followed by the Giants and the Falcons, all three tied at plus two thousand, the fewest odds or best odds to have the fewest wins.

00:29:05
Speaker 2: Courtesy of Draftking. You know, we had a good morning, we had breakfast. It just I don't know, we're trying to get in sync here. Yes, see, well I.

00:29:18
Speaker 5: Just put in really because I wanted to see I wrote whose best.

00:29:21
Speaker 3: Years are still ahead of them?

00:29:22
Speaker 5: Yeah, but I didn't like the way you know, you know how sometimes a word looks funny even though it's spelled right.

00:29:28
Speaker 3: So I didn't like the way who's looked. I was like, am I using this?

00:29:32
Speaker 6: Writer?

00:29:32
Speaker 3: Is there like a different way to spell this?

00:29:33
Speaker 5: So I put in whose best years are still ahead of them into a search engine.

00:29:38
Speaker 3: So no apostrophe right.

00:29:40
Speaker 5: I didn't do ho who apostrophe s? I did w h O se who's who's right? But it didn't look right for some reason. And then AI gave me an answer, Okay, do you want me to share it with you. It's very hopeful, I will. Research indicates for many people the best years are not behind them, but are actually ahead, with emotional well being and happiness often peaking in the forties, fifties, sixties, and even seventies. While twenties are often seen as a period of high potential but significant stress, later decades often bring increased confidence, wisdom, and improved relationships.

00:30:15
Speaker 3: It looks like it sounds like all of our best days are ahead of us. Fellas, I don't think mine are. I think you're still you're hitting prime best days.

00:30:22
Speaker 2: Dan mmm, I don't know that window is closing. Rapids come out?

00:30:26
Speaker 3: Oh yeah? How's your confidence? How's your wisdom? For it's okay. How are your relationships right now? Improved? Yeah? Yeah?

00:30:33
Speaker 2: Say huh yeah, my relationships I think are getting a little better.

00:30:36
Speaker 3: Are you saying you don't like the way your best days are feeling? I think I had my best days? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, Todd, I put the whole.

00:30:45
Speaker 6: Thing into AI over you, including Kyler and Tua's.

00:30:47
Speaker 10: Names, and he says, based on their performers up to the end of the twenty twenty five season, Kyler Murray's more likely to have his best years ahead of him compared to Tua, although both face significant uncertainty after disappointing injury plague campaigns.

00:31:00
Speaker 2: Well, you know, if I'm looking at Kyler's health overall health and Tua, I'm going to side with Kyler here. But you know, Tua, maybe he's figured out how to protect himself better. And I give him credit because I thought, do not give him a contract extension?

00:31:17
Speaker 3: Do not?

00:31:19
Speaker 2: And they did, and now they're on the hook for ninety nine million dollars. I wouldn't have given Kyler Murray a contract extension.

00:31:26
Speaker 3: I said that they do. They never listen. They never listen. I'm just a talking here, dude. That's it. Jordan and Albany. Hi, Jordan, what's on your mind today? Hey?

00:31:42
Speaker 1: Dan?

00:31:43
Speaker 3: Six foot six to sixty? All right?

00:31:46
Speaker 9: My first thing I'm gonna say is for weird town names, because we're talking about Ohio. I'm gonna throw in the ring there intercourse, Pennsylvania. So my question for you is we're talking about Daniel Jones, and to me, I look at it like if he's had nine or ten solid games, that's a great sample size.

00:32:05
Speaker 3: And so I'm wondering is.

00:32:06
Speaker 9: The Colts question mark there about the injuries, because if you look at his stats, he was on pace for average games to hit four thousand yards this season. A lot of that is due to i'd say the best guard in the NFL, Quinton Nelson, and having you know, Jonathan Taylor crushing everybody as well. But what more does someone need when they're looking at a sample size for a guy. I'm not saying he's a fifty million dollar quarterback, but why are the Colts not jumping all over him right now?

00:32:34
Speaker 3: Because he's coming off Achilles? That's it. I mean, they got time to negotiate.

00:32:41
Speaker 2: I think that I think he went from Daniel Jones went from being overrated to maybe now underrated. But you know, he got kicked to the curb. You know, didn't stay in Minnesota, wanted to go to the Colts because he knew he could start. He played pretty well got out of New York, which I think is important. And I think that he is he can be a maybe a top twenty, maybe top fifteen quarterback. He does have the talent, athleticism, and he was off to a very good start. They do have weapons in Indy that helps, and I don't want to be reliant on him, because we saw that with the Giants.

00:33:22
Speaker 3: Once the Giants let Saquon go.

00:33:24
Speaker 2: Now all of a sudden, you're saying to Daniel Jones, hey, you know, live up to that contract.

00:33:30
Speaker 3: Which I never would have given him, but they did.

00:33:33
Speaker 2: And I think with the Colts, if I can get him in a sweet spot of three years and one hundred and twenty million dollars, yeah, I sign up absolutely. I think that he's capable of being a good quarterback, right you whift On Richardson, Daniel Jones. I don't know what it's going to be ready for the start of the regular season. I mean, this isn't exactly like, hey, you's screwed up on Trey Lance, but you lucked into brock Purty type situation.

00:34:03
Speaker 3: But it might be closed.

00:34:05
Speaker 2: They didn't trade, They didn't, you know, give up draft pick, first round picks like the Niners did to move up for Trey Lance. You drafted Anthony Richardson didn't have enough quality starts in college. You get Daniel Jones. Because Daniel Jones knew I'm gonna go there, I'm going to start, and it was a great business decision. And I wouldn't be surprised if you know he gets another contract from the Colts. Gonna take a break when we come back the most the best odds for the most wins in the NFL.

00:34:35
Speaker 3: See Todd will do the reverse.

00:34:36
Speaker 6: That makes sense. We should cover both sides.

What's on your mind today?

00:35:51
Speaker 13: Good morning Dan. I'm glad that everybody's safe after Monday's trauma. Had a few questions and the thoughts, one which is faster Fritz leaving during the fire or running to get food on Friday? And then with Marvin about this middle finger thing. I shook his wrist one time in Las Vegas when I met him, And are we sure that it was his middle finger because his hands are kind of small?

00:36:15
Speaker 4: Uh?

00:36:15
Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, Marvin did flip off the camera yesterday. A double bird by the way, still amazing.

00:36:25
Speaker 11: I'm I'm really sorry. I apologize to not you or anybody else, but really, the future of America.

00:36:32
Speaker 3: Why not me?

00:36:34
Speaker 11: Adults? Eh, the kids of America. There are future and I feel really bad.

00:36:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, but this adult was mad at you that you flipped off the youth of America for no reason. I'm standing there with my arm around you, and they take a camera shot and next thing I know, you're double birding America.

00:36:55
Speaker 6: I mean.

00:36:56
Speaker 11: And the funny thing was, yes, it was my reaction to just mary A talking.

00:37:03
Speaker 2: Oh so you were flipping the bird to Mario he's our director.

00:37:08
Speaker 3: Okay, yes, Hut.

00:37:09
Speaker 10: I'm trying to figure out why Trip in Vegas has to go after multiple dannettes and you know, skew negative there like.

00:37:14
Speaker 2: That, and I would say you running out of the building after the.

00:37:18
Speaker 3: Fire faster than absolutely. Yes, absolutely, Let's see Nate in La Hi, Nate, what's on your mind today?

00:37:28
Speaker 6: Hey?

00:37:28
Speaker 4: Dan? Two comments, One to defend Marvin. It looked like he was giving a thumbs up to the camera. And then two you guys, I mean to me, it did. But yeah, two you guys already alluded to it earlier. But if there was one way Kyler Murray could change the perception people have of him, then the only way to have him come back on the Dan Patrick Show. And who knows you may get your sports emmy.

00:37:56
Speaker 2: Well, we did have him on I don't know how many years ago, but he did come up, and you know, we joked about it. We're fine with that, you know. I just think that he was coached incorrectly that day in Atlanta, whether it's By's dad or the people with the sponsorship with Gatorade, and he knew the questions, he just didn't want to provide answers. And as much as I tried to help him, and then it's survival mode. You're not going to help yourself. I can't help you now, I'm going to protect me. And that's how it kind of played out Adam in Michigan. Hey Adam, what's on your mind today?

00:38:34
Speaker 14: Hey Dan, how's it going great?

00:38:36
Speaker 8: Yeh?

00:38:37
Speaker 14: Just making some five alarm chili over here, because the last time I called a couple of days ago, I think I said the main cave on fire with my hotcake.

00:38:46
Speaker 3: That would mean yes, yeah, yeah, bare.

00:38:49
Speaker 14: Downs who knew it hit so hard? But my question was for Marvin with his thirty one inch arms. There's a lot of good thirty ones out there. If he had to pick a jersey, would be Bobby Orr, Greg Maddox, Reggie Miller or other for thirty one?

00:39:04
Speaker 2: Okay, numerology, that's usually Fritzie's.

00:39:09
Speaker 11: I'm gonna go with Sebastian's helfare from the Portland Trail Blazers. He wore thirty one. What are you wear in prison?

00:39:17
Speaker 3: Too soon?

00:39:20
Speaker 6: Hey?

00:39:21
Speaker 3: I wore thirty one in the NBA.

00:39:23
Speaker 2: Could I get something with my prison number that has thirty one in it?

00:39:26
Speaker 6: I'm sure it was longer than there is that too soon?

00:39:28
Speaker 3: Too soon? You know for me to do that. He's out of prison, okay, I.

00:39:31
Speaker 1: Know he is.

00:39:32
Speaker 3: Was he in with p Diddy? Might sting a little bit still though, yeah, I'm sure, yes he was. He was in with P Diddy.

00:39:38
Speaker 11: Yes, he was in four digs.

00:39:40
Speaker 3: Okay, I thought P Diddy was in Brooklyn.

00:39:47
Speaker 7: Pre incarceration.

00:39:48
Speaker 2: Oh oh, he is free, but he's still there checking. Yeah, P Diddy's still in prison. He didn't get no, no, no, no, no, no, okay pardoned? No none of that yet. Why are they waiting for negotiations ongoing? Yeah?

00:40:05
Speaker 3: Up? Take the poll results? Are Kyler Murray poll results?

00:40:09
Speaker 5: I'm sorry, Dan, You're gonna have to hear more specific kr Pole's results. What kind of quarterback? Is Kyler Murray?

00:40:14
Speaker 3: Good?

00:40:15
Speaker 5: Very good average or stay away average? Has about fifty five percent of that vote, followed by stay away?

00:40:21
Speaker 3: Big wow, big lead there.

00:40:22
Speaker 5: Okay, this one's from Marvin Player that you wish you would have done more with their talent, Michael Vick, Kyler Murray, Jeff George or Jadeveon Clowney Michael Vick running away with that one, followed by Clowney. We also have whose best years are still ahead of them, Kyler Murray or Tua Kyler Murray running away with that? And is Kyler Murray still a starting quarterback? That's probably the most compelling poll. That's a fifty two percent say yes.

00:40:48
Speaker 2: By the way, the last quarterback to get the transition tag Jeff George. So it's been a long time since the quarterback has been given the transition tag. That Daniel Jones gone, the teams that have the best chance for the most wins will have that for you.

00:41:06
Speaker 3: Coming up, more of your phone calls. Alburt Chio on the way
