Speaker 5: Please let me get some sleep.

00:01:48
Speaker 3: Please let me get some sleep with the full spectrum flower only hemp CD cbd A F nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. One person says, Matt, your opinion on new coaches isn't very good for basketball.

00:01:59
Speaker 6: You swoping down it would be the Baylor.

00:02:00
Speaker 3: Coach and we saw how no excuse me, we've seen how that worked out.

00:02:04
Speaker 6: Just to make sure I have the grammar that you we seen how it worked out. Well.

00:02:09
Speaker 3: I was right. We did offer the Baylor coach. He turned it down. But who got the offer? The Baylor coach?

00:02:15
Speaker 6: That was it. The thing that surprised I.

00:02:19
Speaker 3: The surprising part to me was we knew they were gonna go after We knew they were gonna go after Hurley. Excuse me, Hurley and Drew. They did, they didn't get either one of them. I thought the next two candidates would be Oates and Pearl, which I think they were. What we didn't know is that the university president and trustees said no to uh to Oates and Pearl. I think if it had been up to Mitch, he would have offered Oates. I think Oats would have ended up not taking it for some personal reasons. So I think the next coach would have probably been Bruce Pearl, But then the university sort of put a veto on that, considering he now he's trying to figure out if he runs for Senate.

00:02:59
Speaker 6: And you want to talk about if people think I don't stick to sports.

00:03:04
Speaker 3: If first Pearl had been to coach here, I don't know if people follow him right now. Yeah, Like he's the he's more political than I've ever seen a coach b in terms of and he's thinking about run for Senate. So I don't know how that would have ended up working out. But then Pope ended up being the next choice. I think it ended up working out for the best, but it was. I mean, it's certainly fair to say we had gotten down to fifth, sixth, seventh choice by the time we got.

00:03:26
Speaker 6: The hired Drew. Yeah.

00:03:28
Speaker 5: I made a list on the website and when they were searching it, I had Pope ranked tenth. I don't run away from that. I even compared it to ordering chicken tenders at a steakhouse when they hired him. I think, as we've said many times, the whole fan base needed a little sleep to get behind it. But it is what is. In hindsight, we all looked like a bunch of idiots because it was a great first year and I had a blast watching every mode of it.

00:03:46
Speaker 3: I mean we got turned down a lot, let's be real. I mean the top tier was Hurley, Drew, and Donovan, and they got no's from all of them, and then the next tier was probably six coaches of which Mark Pope was one, and the university scrapped four of them and they were basically left with Mark Pope and Shaka Smart, and thank goodness they took Mark Pope.

00:04:07
Speaker 6: But that was kind of, you know, the list kind of opened up there for him.

00:04:11
Speaker 2: You know, Mark Pope was the right coach at the right time. I agree, We're gonna be honest, John cala Perry was the right coach at the right time. I agree that relationship kind of soured and we ended up having an ugly breakup. Maybe just me, but I kind of feel like that's where we're headed for football. I feel like it's gonna be having We're gonna have an ugly breakup, and I don't I'm not ready for it.

00:04:28
Speaker 3: One of these days there'll be a postgame show where if things don't improve, Shannon, I'll do the parallels, yeah, because there are a lot of parallels. But my hope is that we turned around.

00:04:37
Speaker 6: Yeah, my hope is that the way I felt like January of Cows last year, when we were starting to roll and Reeves was playing well and Shepard and Dillian Hamm were coming on, I was like, oh wait a minute, we might turn this around.

00:04:49
Speaker 3: That's what I hope ends up ends up happening here. I want to play something, Drew. I'd love to hear it arch Manning. You know he was, he was all preseason. Everything has struggled a little bit. Some people have said that they think he might be injured, and as as the reason they've said that, they've said is throwing motion. Normally used to throw like this over the top. Now he's going on the side a little bit. So they're like, they're wondering if.

00:05:13
Speaker 6: His shoulders hurt. And then they also talk about how after some passes he has grimaces on his face like you're in pain, Like, ah, that hurts, And so there have been some people speculating with those grimaces on his face, he must be in pain. So they asked Steve Sarkisian at his press conference yesterday, Hey, is it possible Arch has hurt? We've been seeing his facial expressions. And here was Sarkisian's odd answer, go ahead.

00:05:39
Speaker 5: Arch Many seemed to be having some throwing pains.

00:05:41
Speaker 7: By the according to who, Arch Arch said that to you. No, oh, according to who, it just looked like he was he doesn't have.

00:05:49
Speaker 4: Any Is there an explanation to why he was it looked like that.

00:05:53
Speaker 6: I don't know.

00:05:55
Speaker 7: I've never filed I've never filmed any of you guys when you're using the bathroom, so I don't know what faces you make when you do.

00:06:00
Speaker 6: That, right, all right, So I don't know what that means exactly. I've never filmed you while you're using the bathroom, so I don't know what faces you make.

00:06:12
Speaker 3: Odd analogy, I don't know what that has to do with Arch grimacing when he throws. I don't know what going to the bathroom and throwing the football is, like, Shannon.

00:06:22
Speaker 4: I'm reaching here, maybe like the strain face because of.

00:06:26
Speaker 6: Your No, that's clearly what he means, like.

00:06:29
Speaker 4: What your face looks like when you strain.

00:06:31
Speaker 6: But I would say again, I'm sorry to the women here. I'm apologizing before I do this to.

00:06:38
Speaker 3: The two of you, and I'm sorry, but we just I just want to explain there might be times when you use the bathroom that you are straining, But then that would mean Arch is straining too.

00:06:50
Speaker 6: So I don't understand what he meant, do you.

00:06:53
Speaker 5: I took it as Arch literally has to go to the bathroom when he's throwing the ball and he's hold in. That was the correlation I made. He's alluding to, I'm not gonna tell you Arch really had to use the bathroom on those throws. But I don't look at your face when you have to go, So let's not judge Arch's face when he has to go.

00:07:09
Speaker 6: All right, what about you? How did you read it?

00:07:11
Speaker 2: Should you want me to answer?

00:07:12
Speaker 3: No? For people who don't know we we we had a conversation on on Friday, me and Drew. We had what we would call a bodily function intervention with Ryan.

00:07:26
Speaker 6: We all sat when he walked me and Mario. It was on the way the Rams game.

00:07:30
Speaker 3: We were like, you know what, less because Mario, Mario knows we need more consistency. He's been saying it sin Seattle, saying it siniat. So we were like, we just need less of that. So you're right, this isn't a good topic.

00:07:43
Speaker 2: For true I have a word I can't say for a month.

00:07:46
Speaker 4: We need more fiber.

00:07:47
Speaker 5: Yes, so par Arch that two weeks ago he's the greatest thing to ever hold the football. Two weeks later, this is the discussion around him. What a fall from one.

00:07:56
Speaker 3: Uh, we didn't get to talk about what it was last Friday. So it's been a but we didn't get to talk Shan about the Phillies woman.

00:08:02
Speaker 4: The Phillies Karen Karen Bollsnatcher. They're calling her.

00:08:06
Speaker 6: They're calling her Karen Bollsnatcher.

00:08:08
Speaker 2: Yes, I love that name.

00:08:09
Speaker 3: Karen Bollsnatch is good name, although my mom is very angry that Karen has become a name that people that people don't like. So for people who didn't see a dad sees a home run or a foul ball, he runs toward it, which makes him go into where this woman is standing. There's a little like go for it. He gets the ball, the woman doesn't. He runs back to his son it looks like and he's like, here's son, I got you ball. And the son's like yay, and the crowd's like yay. And the woman is mad because he ran all the way over there and comes and is yelling at her as he's yelling at the father, yes, like you took my ball. And finally the dad is like a scaredy cat and he takes the ball from his and hands it back to the mom, or hands it back to the woman, and the woman walks away. People on TV are criticizing It turns out the Phillies see it. They invite the kid down, they give him a bat and a ball, and all is well. But the internet gets very mad at Karen ball Snatcher. Shannon, Clearly the woman was in the wrong.

00:09:23
Speaker 6: How wrong was.

00:09:24
Speaker 4: Miss ball Snatcher?

00:09:25
Speaker 8: Should have stayed right there where she was because the guy got the ball to give it to his kid. And what world do you think that it's okay as an adult to go up and try to take a ball from a kid at a baseball game.

00:09:35
Speaker 4: Do you she had no rights to the ball.

00:09:37
Speaker 3: It was just good Do you agree with the premise. Let's say the kid wasn't involved.

00:09:42
Speaker 6: The dude did run over and get it in front of her from like five or six seats over.

00:09:47
Speaker 4: She should have been quicker.

00:09:48
Speaker 6: Okay, I gotta be quicker than that. You're okay with that?

00:09:50
Speaker 4: That's right?

00:09:51
Speaker 6: All right? What about you?

00:09:52
Speaker 5: Okay, that's a fifty to fifty ball. That's anybody's ball, not even her row. It was the row in front of her. How many rows does she get to claim you bought one ticket if lands in your seat, sure pick it up. No, it wasn't her row. That's a fifty to fifty ball. He hustled, he got it, and especially when he hugged his kid and gave him that little squeeze after he gave the baby.

00:10:11
Speaker 6: She should have known. All right, I'm backing off this one more thing.

00:10:15
Speaker 4: His reaction when Karen grabbed his arm.

00:10:19
Speaker 5: Yeah, that was a bit much.

00:10:20
Speaker 8: I was like that, This seems like a fake video. His reaction seemed fake if you saw.

00:10:24
Speaker 5: That held.

00:10:27
Speaker 6: He sold like Rick Flair.

00:10:29
Speaker 4: He flopped.

00:10:30
Speaker 6: He flopped.

00:10:31
Speaker 3: I have to tell you, man like, there was a little bit of manliness that was lost in that moment.

00:10:36
Speaker 6: Okay, now here's the thing. She's in the wrong. It's it's her fault.

00:10:41
Speaker 3: Do you think she deserves to be piled on like she's being piled on on the internet because.

00:10:47
Speaker 6: You think, yes, wow, I mean this is okay, Shet. We can all agree she made a mistake in the moment, but do we give her no break at all?

00:10:56
Speaker 4: I think she gets this is a harsh world we have right now. I think she gets twenty four hours then you let it go.

00:11:01
Speaker 3: And because it's to me, it's not the same as the cheating couple at the Cold Player, right, this is like she made a mistake, She kind of looked like a Karen too though. She had the hair like the black streak in her hair, and she just what did you think?

00:11:18
Speaker 2: You know, we've all seen foul balls go in the stands and it's like bees to honey man. No matter where you are, you all go to it. He ended up with the ball that just got the right bounce, gave it to his kid. That's the issue. She took that ball away from a kid.

00:11:33
Speaker 3: I mean she she she claimed. I saw an interview where she claimed she didn't.

00:11:36
Speaker 6: See the kid.

00:11:37
Speaker 2: That bully almost cussed right there. That is total bull. She saw, she saw exactly what was going on. She didn't have a kid there at the game. She took the ball away from a little kid, childless cat lady. I am calling her Karen ball snatcher from hell. Wow, yeah, take that.

00:11:57
Speaker 3: Whoa, that's a little it's a little much.

00:12:05
Speaker 2: If that was me, if she expected me to take that ball out a little ten year old Josiah's hand, we might have we might have had been throwing cokes on each other.

00:12:12
Speaker 6: I'd been so mad throwing cokes.

00:12:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, it would make you.

00:12:15
Speaker 6: Yeah, then I think it would have flipped and you would have been the wrong guy.

00:12:18
Speaker 2: Stay away from your kid, get away from my He didn't. She didn't touch the kid, I know, but she took made dad take the ball away.

00:12:24
Speaker 5: From the game.

00:12:26
Speaker 6: Dad caved quickly.

00:12:28
Speaker 3: Don't do it, get away, I will say, she's in the wrong, But Dad cave too quick.

00:12:33
Speaker 6: What was Dad doing give caven so quick?

00:12:35
Speaker 4: I don't know, And he was scared of her. She came after it.

00:12:38
Speaker 5: I wouldn't have given the ball.

00:12:39
Speaker 4: No, I would never given her that ball.

00:12:41
Speaker 5: On the internet reaction though, I kind of hate how people are like, what's fine where they work? Like, steve the hell out of them, make fun of the haircut, have a field day on the internet. But people shouldn't lose their source of income. Like the people are like, what's her address? No that we don't need to do that.

00:12:55
Speaker 6: That's what I wanted to I don't like that.

00:12:57
Speaker 3: No, I don't like get your jokes off jokes our Karen ball snatcher, But then like, don't try to ruin her life.

00:13:04
Speaker 6: It was a foul ball. Who's next?

00:13:06
Speaker 4: Jay?

00:13:07
Speaker 6: Is next? Jay?

00:13:08
Speaker 9: Go ahead, Jay, it's start a Ke's just hanging out with Ryan. I mean that's a total line of comment.

00:13:15
Speaker 6: That is a very ryme thing.

00:13:16
Speaker 2: I really want to talk about this, Jay, but I'm not able to do He's not allowed.

00:13:21
Speaker 9: Hey guys, well you know I'm out there every week and shout out section twenty two. I have a laundry list of complaints with the fan experience. But look, there's two things that have to change, and Shannon already hit on one of them. Matt, we cannot play my old Kentucky home and I'm the biggest fan of the song. The only game we can play it is the Louisville game. But other fan bases are gonna know it bothers us, and we're gonna be dealing with it every week if we keep playing.

00:13:44
Speaker 6: That's true. That's true. That's a good point now that they know it gets to us. You're right.

00:13:50
Speaker 9: The second thing the fans go is the students go, and that's who they need to appeal to the university. And I can talk about this all day. Do there's all these stupid things that don't keep the students engaged during games, and I'll tell you just a simple one. They're more likely to show some little kid on the screen than reward those kids that stood in line all day to get on the jumbo tron. They have great ternity events and Sorority organized events, and this attendance will be down this week just because of that.

00:14:24
Speaker 6: That's a great point, great point. I appreciate the call.

00:14:27
Speaker 3: I think that's true and rough too. As the students go, the fans go a lot of times. You gotta make it fun for the students, and they make it. I mean, I have seen complaints on TikTok. They make it hard for the students to even go sometimes much less to have a good atmosphere. It goes as the students go. I totally agree with that. That Jay is exactly right. 00:15:36
Speaker 3: It's kso water bag of this Kentucky Sports Radio AF nine two eighty seven.

00:15:43
Speaker 6: I made a good bat last night on DraftKings.

00:15:45
Speaker 3: You go to DraftKings bet five, I get two hundred dollars, use my promo code KSR and his Draft Kings sportsbook.

00:15:51
Speaker 6: The Crown is yours. So I did My team's always let me down. So I made a really good bet last night. Reds were up three nothing against the Padres and six inning Bears were up seventeen to six. No did you against the Vikings.

00:16:07
Speaker 3: I bet them both to lose in a money line park well, because I knew they were gonna break my heart.

00:16:12
Speaker 6: They both lost.

00:16:14
Speaker 3: I was able to feel a little bit better and ended up walking away with a decent little chunk of change to take with me in South Africa, because I knew they were both gonna lose. And then they both lost, the Reds in a heartbreaking fashion, the Bears in a slowly debilitating fashion, which is the way.

00:16:28
Speaker 6: They liked to do it, and uh yeah, nice shop. I was very excited. I was very excited at the first drive for the Bears.

00:16:34
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, right down the field, Ben Johnson, eighty five Bears are there and it looks like we ain't here. The feathers ruffle, We're just here to do the Super Bowl shuffle. And then they're just stunk. After that they got up.

00:16:46
Speaker 2: I thought, there's no way they're gonna lose this game, and they're honoring the eighty five Bears, and somehow they found a way to just stink it up.

00:16:51
Speaker 4: In the second half.

00:16:52
Speaker 3: They were off and then I mean the Reds actually had a chance to get back in it last night. They could have cut it to three, and then now they've lost and it's over.

00:17:00
Speaker 5: Previewing the Bear Bears game yesterday, I said, look out for Luther Burdon uh negative three yards receiving. Not only did he not go forward, he.

00:17:06
Speaker 6: Actually he had to work at the bank that day.

00:17:09
Speaker 2: He had to work at Luthor Deaton.

00:17:10
Speaker 3: Okay, same thing, but he had to work at the bank during the day. It was hard for him to go play, uh play that night.

00:17:16
Speaker 6: J J. McCarthy look good, he did, I.

00:17:19
Speaker 8: Like on DraftKings. Now they bad at this ghost leg? Have you have you used that yet?

00:17:22
Speaker 6: Out?

00:17:23
Speaker 8: So basically, let's say you picked five legs on a parlay and one of them doesn't hit, your parlay still wins. So you could hit four out of five and still but you win less money. No, I same amount, same amount?

00:17:33
Speaker 6: Yeah, it's the same amount.

00:17:35
Speaker 4: Yeah, you just you basically get one bulligan.

00:17:37
Speaker 5: So well, if you did ghost Leg, you did.

00:17:40
Speaker 4: If you did ghost like ghost Leg darcass.

00:17:42
Speaker 5: You have to hit the promo to turn it into a Some KSR listeners might have done that though.

00:17:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, well good, well just from now on ghost Leg?

00:17:50
Speaker 4: Right, yere you money?

00:17:53
Speaker 6: Yeah? If I'm two eighty seven, who's up next? John? Is next? John? Go ahead? John?

00:18:01
Speaker 10: So I was wondering for the buyout of UK and now Reclass fighter An LLC. Could they use a business loan to be able to get that much set?

00:18:10
Speaker 6: Well?

00:18:10
Speaker 3: Yeah they could, but I mean, do you want to have a business loan for thirty seven million dollars.

00:18:15
Speaker 6: I mean, I guess you could.

00:18:17
Speaker 3: Maybe they do, I don't know, but yes, that but the money is due under stoops his contract, which other people who know more about it than me say they have never seen a contract written like this. All the money is due six weeks after he would be dismissed.

00:18:34
Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean ideally you wouldn't want to have a loan for it, but like, what else you're going to do? Also, if Mitch Morenhardt picks Brad White, I would personally poop on his car until he would tire uninspired pick I've ever heard in my life.

00:18:48
Speaker 6: I appreciate the call.

00:18:49
Speaker 3: Wow, I would personally he said that man said he would personally poop on it.

00:18:53
Speaker 4: We'll see his face.

00:18:56
Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm with you on that. Like again, things might change.

00:19:01
Speaker 3: If everything collapses, then that's a different situation. But if you told me right now, like if I were in Vegas and you were to say Vegas odds of who the next UK football coach is right now, I think I'd probably make Brad.

00:19:16
Speaker 6: White the betting favorite with John Summer all second.

00:19:18
Speaker 3: And a lot of people will not like that, and I may not either, but I'm just telling you what I think would be the case now. In eight weeks it might look completely different. Right, There might be a lot of things happen in these next eight weeks. But I'm just would you would you agree with that?

00:19:32
Speaker 2: I think so? But John Sumrall, some are all plays Ole Miss this weekend. What if he goes down and beats Old Miss? Does he then become the leading candidate? And if not a Kentucky, somebody's gonna come after and get that guy.

00:19:42
Speaker 5: I think you can get too hot for Kentucky.

00:19:44
Speaker 6: That's what I work.

00:19:44
Speaker 5: I mean, he's on the Alabama betting odds right now.

00:19:47
Speaker 3: If he's like, if they go twelve to zero and make the playoff, yeah, I mean then it's like you've waited so long, you know your your your husband got hot enough for an for somebody else. That's kind of what you're looking for.

00:20:02
Speaker 5: There could be Auburn open, Florida open, there could be.

00:20:05
Speaker 6: Several Yeah, think about Florida.

00:20:07
Speaker 3: I mean, as we root for Florida, if we root for Florida and Alabama's failure, if they if they if their jobs come open, we are significantly less attractive than those if they do come open.

00:20:17
Speaker 8: Do you think that there's any chance that Gruden would end up at an SEC school, Why would.

00:20:21
Speaker 6: You want him? I mean, I like, I mean, look, would Gruen would be like? But why you see it?

00:20:27
Speaker 4: Like he was successful in the NFL is Belichick? I think he's a great coach.

00:20:31
Speaker 6: Well so was Belichick. I mean, I'm not listen.

00:20:34
Speaker 3: If Kentucky had a chance to get Gruden and it's like Gruden or Brad White, sure roll the dice right, like I'm but but the idea that Gruden is this amazing. I mean, Belichick has showed you that, Like if you've never been in college, just to all of a sudden show up. I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna work. That might work, but.

00:20:54
Speaker 4: Like I would take my chances with Gruden personally.

00:20:57
Speaker 6: Here's what I would say.

00:20:58
Speaker 3: If you're Kentucky football and we finished three and nine, you might want to do it just for the excitement than you know, just to get fans like into it.

00:21:06
Speaker 5: Who's a caller earlier? We won at offensive coach watch Will Stein, Oregon's offensive coordinator. He played at Louisville, but he's got Kentucky roots still went to Trinity. He would happily wear the blue if that were to come open.

00:21:18
Speaker 6: It's a very good point.

00:21:19
Speaker 5: He is a hot name right now.

00:21:21
Speaker 6: Yeah, that is a really good point. Who's next?

00:21:23
Speaker 4: Ford?

00:21:23
Speaker 6: Is next? Ford? Go ahead forward?

00:21:26
Speaker 11: Hey, y'all, I was thinking about Chester's comment yesterday and I went and looked it up in Power forward Games Power for one score game. Since will Ebs the second year, we are three and eight with none of those wins coming at home. If you want to keep those people in the stands in the fourth quarter of a one score game, just win. Give him that, I mean, prove him otherwise.

00:21:50
Speaker 3: Mark's story yesterday did the numbers on that, and I appreciate the call one score SEC games. From two thy fifteen to two thousand twenty one, Mark Stoops was nine and four, and since twenty twenty one we're three and eight. And Story's point is that's the difference right there, even if you know nothing else about what's going on. We used to win the one score games. Now we lose the one score games. Do you think that's as good an explanation as any.

00:22:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, And it doesn't make sense. I mean, I always go back to that Georgia game. He had a chance to beat Georgia on your home field, you know, fourth and short, and instead of going for it, you punt the football. If somehow they had won that game, maybe things had totally turned and flipped around for this program, but they didn't, And that mindset has kind of carried on now since then.

00:22:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, And that mindset is also why it still doesn't feel like he has a philosophy because I think I think what he did against Ole Miss, even though I think going for it was right on those fourth quarter plays, I think he went for it drew and did he want to go for it because he was like, if I don't go for it, everybody's gonna criticize me.

00:22:51
Speaker 6: So he just went for it even though he doesn't want to go for it.

00:22:53
Speaker 5: And he keeps saying I make gut decisions, and that can be good. You need to rely on your gut. But if it's just always your gut, we're paying you a lot of money if for what is essentially a gamble. If you're just going with your gut, don't have a true philosophy that you practice and stick with.

00:23:04
Speaker 3: Well, sometimes your gut may just have an infection when it comes to.

00:23:08
Speaker 6: You know, some people can sometimes you get rocked down. Some people are.

00:23:10
Speaker 3: Gluten intolerant no matter what, and you might need to look at other things beside your gut because it's just not going to be able to process the information. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four will take a break, bery back ks R, Quarterback Techie Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven here at Corn Brand Hemp with our good friends Jim hign and Eric Zipperly, let mean, I we talked a little bit about the fight going on in Washington, and that's why they brought us here.

00:23:39
Speaker 6: But just on a personal level, there's a lot of people.

00:23:43
Speaker 3: I've become more libertarian as I've gotten older about especially these kind of issues when it comes to I mean, we're here for him, but I feel this way honestly about marijuana too, even though Himp's different.

00:23:55
Speaker 6: But like this, this stuff helps a lot of people.

00:23:59
Speaker 3: And the reality is Mitch McConnell is a big reason why the hemp industry in Kentucky grew. He really backed it early on the first fifteen years. It was I think one of the things he did that, I thought, really, I wrote a book about all the things I thought Mitch didn't do for Kentucky. This was something he actually did do for Kentucky. And now because the bourbon industry, and I respect the bourbon industry, but because they're whining about it because their sales have gone down for a variety of reasons. Now he's just completely flipping his position. And a lot of people in this state have started to rely on hemp farms. They've used their land for it. Obviously, Jim and his group here with cornbread hem but they're not the only company that does it in Kentucky. To flip now is part of the most the egregious nature of the way Mitch mcconnald's done politics for forty years. But the rest of the politicians in Kentucky have a chance to stop it. They both have both sides know that it needs to happen, So I hope they'll do it. And then there are people like me who for whom if it becomes illegal, that has a negati of effect on their health. And that's so I hope that the folks in Washington, especially the ones from Kentucky, that help lead this fight either way, We'll get to some Uh, we'll get to a good decision here in the next coming months, because they're gonna be deciding over the next couple of months. One person writes, map going to South Africa, What did you decide on boots?

00:25:21
Speaker 6: Yeah?

00:25:22
Speaker 2: What did you decide?

00:25:23
Speaker 6: I had a lot of suggestions about boots.

00:25:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, this I think a lot of people suggested the same company. And it has like a store in New York where I'm gonna be starting tonight, so I'm gonna probably get boots there. I looked on the thing it said, don't wear two boots that are too heavy because you don't need them.

00:25:41
Speaker 4: Because those lions.

00:25:42
Speaker 6: It's exactly right. It's all anybody ever says to me, because don't be the slowest person any hire. Although if I'm the slowest person with the ten women I'm with, then I'm in trouble to begin with, uh, because I have no other skills. But I am looking forward to it. Packing.

00:25:56
Speaker 3: I'm already packed because I have to leave from here and go to the airport. I'm already packed and ready to go. And we'll see how it ends up going. I'll be on the show tomorrow and Thursday from New York. I will not be on Friday, and then I won't be on until October third. I'll be back on a Friday for remote, so I'll be gone three weeks of shows. These guys are gonna have a host of guests, including Friday. What's the name of the volleyball player that's coming to the star of the UK volleyball team is gonna be live with these guys Brooklyn Delay on Friday. But I'm going I'm gonna be here tomorrow and Thursday. But I'm gonna miss you guys. Well, I won't see you to October.

00:26:31
Speaker 2: Will we will miss you also. But the public demands to know what did you get your Safari pants?

00:26:35
Speaker 6: I just said, did I not lead off? Oh, I've said this to this shoes.

00:26:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, they're sitting at my house right now. Apparently they got Apparently, well I'm hoping they are.

00:26:45
Speaker 6: I ordered them. They were supposed to get that, they got it, says they got delivered this morning.

00:26:49
Speaker 4: We're going home before you go to the airport, just to pay.

00:26:51
Speaker 6: I'm flying out of Louisville, so I'm going to get my pants, you know, gotta get your pants and then go to the airport and uh and and fly off to South Africa. There's no directs, so that's why I'm going to New York. Nothing, not Louisville to Johannesburg.

00:27:04
Speaker 5: Got your Safari hat and your knife.

00:27:08
Speaker 6: I do not have a knife. I don't know. First of all, did they even let you know you take knives a right check back?

00:27:13
Speaker 4: Yeah, take a machete, you can get out there.

00:27:16
Speaker 6: I don't own a knife, so that's a problem.

00:27:18
Speaker 5: I went off the street in South Africa.

00:27:20
Speaker 3: I'm sure they encourage street purchases in South Africa of all kinds. Uh, but it should be should be fun. I'm looking forward to you to get lions. You got, you got, you got, giraffes, rhinos.

00:27:32
Speaker 6: Uh. They call them the Big five.

00:27:34
Speaker 3: There's like five things that you hope to see so that you get all the five.

00:27:40
Speaker 4: Them lions, rhinos, tigers.

00:27:42
Speaker 3: It's lions, rhinos, tigers, giraffes and something. I can't remember what the No, it's an elephant, so maybe it's six. Well one of them.

00:27:50
Speaker 6: I one of my mention is not on there because because he's right, elephant and a hippo.

00:27:54
Speaker 2: And the one dude said just stay away from the Hyaenas. That's the guess, the bad one. You don't want to be, right.

00:27:58
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:27:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna stay away from Everything's gonna be running the Hyaenas. So my fellowship is the first six days, so I'll be in Cape Town like doing nerd stuff. Then then I go out and that's when I start snorkeling and climbing the mountains. Wait to seeing the penguins.

00:28:15
Speaker 6: Uh.

00:28:16
Speaker 3: And then we go to Krueger and I stay like on the reserve, like they give you like a hut.

00:28:22
Speaker 6: You know, because I'm that's my kind of thing. Oh yeah, hut uh. And then you gotta cook.

00:28:26
Speaker 5: Up some hot food.

00:28:27
Speaker 6: Yeah.

00:28:28
Speaker 3: I've got a whole plan of of how I'm gonna use the earth to make my food. And then Johannesburg is the last couple of days.

00:28:36
Speaker 5: Here's your biggest worry about that? Like specific like an animal or the climbing.

00:28:41
Speaker 6: We're gonna talk about the three things I'm looking forward to the least. The flight.

00:28:45
Speaker 3: Number one is the flight fifteen hours in a plane. I splurged and bought business class and it was that's why we're doing so many remotes. It was expensive, but uh, but fifteen hours in a plane that's gonna be brutal.

00:29:00
Speaker 12: Uh.

00:29:01
Speaker 3: But then I'm I'm not nervous about. You know, everybody gets nervous about being in these cities. I'm not nervous about like you just you know, you can't live life being scared where you go, right.

00:29:12
Speaker 6: I am a little nervous about being on the reserve, just because nature and I have never been one.

00:29:19
Speaker 4: You were built for this.

00:29:21
Speaker 6: But uh, and then I don't want to go in the water.

00:29:23
Speaker 3: So I'm trying to figure out how do I get out of the snorkel.

00:29:27
Speaker 6: How do I get out of the snorkeling without looking like a whim?

00:29:29
Speaker 3: You can land snorkel, And I think I'm gonna accidentally schedule our NFL Cover zero podcast during the snorting acid.

00:29:37
Speaker 4: Or you kept down with you know, sickness.

00:29:39
Speaker 3: I think the NFL Cover zero unfortunately Drew just I couldn't do it any other time except during the snorkeling, so I might have to apologize to them for that.

00:29:46
Speaker 5: I could kind of cover on my end while you snorkel. We can get a snorkel review from the boat. You can do it all by phone.

00:29:52
Speaker 6: Yeah, But I I do think like I'll probably call, Like, I'm not going off the grid like I did for Europe, so I might call the show on a day or two and just check in. And then obviously Drew and I are gonna have to do the NFL podcast from wherever I am, so it should be fun.

00:30:07
Speaker 8: I hope somebody is there to document these different activities that you're doing, because i'd like to see some video of you, you know, on the reserve, maybe climbing a mountain.

00:30:15
Speaker 2: I'm pealing down a mountain I've done, I've repelled before. Yeah, that's what I last.

00:30:20
Speaker 4: Get a climbate first though, right, No, you walk.

00:30:23
Speaker 6: Up a trail and then you repel. You repelled down. But like, listen, the scariest thing I've ever done with Drew and I jumped out of a plane. So if you gotta jump out of a plane, then you can, you can go down them.

00:30:34
Speaker 5: I was there to hold your hand for that, though, I'm not gonna be there to help you in South after.

00:30:38
Speaker 2: You got ten ladies to hold your hand in South Africa.

00:30:41
Speaker 6: That's okay. Enough Gym is for for one time, but I'm.

00:30:45
Speaker 3: Looking forward to it and hopefully hopefully I'll come back with good stories who's next?

00:30:50
Speaker 6: Anima is next? Adam? Go ahead, Adam?

00:30:54
Speaker 13: Hey, what's up?

00:30:54
Speaker 14: Guys?

00:30:55
Speaker 13: Previous colors pretty much took my points on in game atmosphere. You crank up music, let it be geared towards students. If you want to go read a book during the game, go to the library or a Reds game.

00:31:05
Speaker 6: You know exactly. I was about to say, don't skip the Reds game. I enjoyed that.

00:31:11
Speaker 9: It's interesting.

00:31:12
Speaker 13: You're moving on three. Daniel Hagar actually just retweet this. I wanted to get your opinion. What about doing away with at ballots? Because you know, there's the story of this. Haley Sawyer, she's a sports reporter for USC You know, she puts out her ballot and she has Florida moving up to spots and leaves South Florida unragnd who just keeps them in the swamp. But she goes, she goes, all right, but she goes on a video and says it probably doesn't matter in the head, well, you shouldn't be doing it. We shouldn't have so many, you know, voter, I.

00:31:48
Speaker 6: Mean, what is this. The AP Top twenty five polls has existed for one hundred years.

00:31:54
Speaker 3: It really doesn't matter. I mean, she's right, like people were harassing that one and for no reason, like she made a mistake. Okay, I mean and and look I've done it before and you point out which writer it was and and in hinzech who I mean, okay, who cares. It's a way to argue. I mean, like we do on this show, the Top ten whatever. People don't lose their minds. Well sometimes they do, but they shouldn't lose their minds. It's just something to talk about. I think it may I could understand the anger back when the ap pole decided drew who the champion was, but now.

00:32:29
Speaker 6: It's just for conversation. So if if if Hailey Parker messed up, then if she messes up again, don't have her do it. But my guess is she'll get it right next time and you move on.

00:32:39
Speaker 13: Right, Yeah, totally right about not being angry and harassing her, Like don't you know that that's totally out of bound. I was just talking about for conversation, Like do we even need the ape?

00:32:49
Speaker 6: We don't need it, but we do do we need? I mean, do we need this show?

00:32:53
Speaker 3: Like there's a lot of things we don't need, but we still have I appreciate that.

00:32:56
Speaker 2: Actually, I really need this show. I mean, God, bless this show.

00:33:03
Speaker 6: I meant, I meant theoretically this show, but it's just to.

00:33:07
Speaker 5: Know one person to be mad if I came home without the show anymore.

00:33:10
Speaker 6: Never mind, I'll say one.

00:33:11
Speaker 5: More thing about the polls. Breaking news, the coaches poll. The coaches don't actually vote, that's why underneath them, that's the sids. All these polls don't really matter. And in the AP I feel like in basketball season this happened like three times last season alone, where a guy was like, oh crap, I didn't even I just filled it out. It's just it is what it is.

00:33:29
Speaker 6: And I can't act holier than now.

00:33:31
Speaker 3: There was a time I would be on the blog I would find the person that didn't write Kentucky high enough, and I'd be looking like, go, look at this idiot. But like as I got older, I don't know that look at this idiot like it just it happens.

00:33:43
Speaker 6: She won't do it again.

00:33:44
Speaker 3: I can tell you that after clearly, after that video, she's not gonna do it again.

00:33:47
Speaker 6: Who's next? Derek is next? Derek? Go ahead, Derek may yes, go ahead.

00:33:57
Speaker 15: I'm gone from the Millsborough Fire Department.

00:34:00
Speaker 3: Give a shout apartment.

00:34:03
Speaker 6: Drea says, hello, but what's going on?

00:34:06
Speaker 15: I got a suggestion for the football program for like a tradition to pump the crowd up.

00:34:12
Speaker 6: All right?

00:34:14
Speaker 15: So saw it's off of Grove Street and then the music died down, and there's a a horse gate Churchill down.

00:34:23
Speaker 6: And then the yes bell rings and the.

00:34:28
Speaker 15: And then a horse with the with the wild cat on it with the Kentucky flag goes does a laugh with the with the team behind them, and love it all that.

00:34:41
Speaker 6: I love it. We talked the other day. Firemen make good suggestions. I appreciate the call. I love that right.

00:34:47
Speaker 3: Don't you like the idea of a horse coming out? I mean, apparently Murray State does it, so we can do it too. We'll steal off our younger brother. I love the idea.

00:34:54
Speaker 2: They could probably get there the rider to put the mascot suit on just for that reason, right around the field with him flag that guys run out, get everybody hype and excited before kickoff. I think anything like that will help, might as well try it.

00:35:05
Speaker 6: Might as well?

00:35:05
Speaker 5: What's the harm I like this idea and several others I have zero faith with execution. When we can't even play a song or check Twitter at the game, how in the world are we gonna successfully pull that off.

00:35:16
Speaker 6: I like the idea and shan'ton.

00:35:17
Speaker 3: Maybe the horse gets scared, yep, it takes a dump in the middle of the field. That'll be funny, like like it'll be there's all you never know. Maybe what was something exciting?

00:35:25
Speaker 4: You know how wildcat falls off the horse?

00:35:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's okay, that's funny. Like there's you know a lot of stuff.

00:35:31
Speaker 8: We we don't want to be a clown show. I mean, the football team has already looked like.

00:35:34
Speaker 6: A crossoball year.

00:35:37
Speaker 4: We don't need that.

00:35:38
Speaker 5: It looks like a clown show the first half last week.

00:35:40
Speaker 3: Hey teachers, if you are one or you know one, the Kentucky Skin Cancer Sinderer wants to say thank you and they're gonna give you fifty.

00:35:47
Speaker 6: Dollars off a glow to facial.

00:35:49
Speaker 3: How about that if you're a teacher, you can get fifty dollars off of facial to get you ready for back to school season.

00:35:55
Speaker 6: That's very cool. The spots go fast.

00:35:57
Speaker 3: Go to Kentucky Skin Cancer Center dot com or two seven oh eight four two, nineteen ninety nine and get your fifty dollars off your glow too.

00:36:05
Speaker 6: Facial from the Kentucky Skin Cancer Center. There are five all across central and western Kentucky. That's very nice of them. Very nice a teacher we had a facial. It was very nice.

00:36:15
Speaker 3: We will take a break and come back for our final segment here in Lebanon at Corporrat Hampton's KSO.

00:36:21
Speaker 6: Waterback. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. That's why Rick is.

00:36:24
Speaker 3: If Shannon can't do it, give me Rick on the ox cord so we get a little uh.

00:36:28
Speaker 6: What is this? Brian sens Er Orchestra, the Mighty Body Boss, Zones, Cherry Popp and Daddy's one of those. That's Rick. You like the SKA music? Is that your thing?

00:36:38
Speaker 2: No?

00:36:38
Speaker 6: I like all kinds of music? Like what Rick?

00:36:40
Speaker 3: If you were on the ox cord at the it's at the UK football game, what would be like three songs you'd use to get the crowd going?

00:36:49
Speaker 2: Oh, let's see, probably uh celebration by cooling the gang.

00:36:53
Speaker 6: That's all there, you go celebrate. What else would you do? Probably uh won't get fooled again by the who? Okay? I think that would be I don't know that. I don't know that song. How does that go? I have to look that up for you because I'm a lousy singer.

00:37:08
Speaker 12: Okay, all right?

00:37:08
Speaker 6: Then what would be your third one? Uh?

00:37:13
Speaker 2: Probably one of that goes way back to the early seventies?

00:37:16
Speaker 6: Three dogs? What we're looking for? Three dog night and celebrate? Okay, all right, Well celebrations celebrate mabrate like celebrate much to celebrate something? You think anything since nineteen not ninety five?

00:37:30
Speaker 2: Oh jeez, I'd have to research that.

00:37:34
Speaker 6: Okay, Well maybe we shouldn't do you know any NBA young boy? No, he's more.

00:37:39
Speaker 3: He's always been more of a w NBA young boy two A twenty two eighty seven?

00:37:45
Speaker 6: Who's next? Terry is next? Terry? Go ahead, Terry.

00:37:49
Speaker 14: You got segued right into my call. In terms of the atmosphere, I'm gonna have a little different take. I don't have a problem with the atmosphere because I don't pay that much attention to it. I'm there for the game to strategize, to coach. I'm coaching on the sidelines. What what play am I gonna call next? The only thing that disturbs me about the game experience is the guy with the neon sign with the two fifty and the three fifty in the four minutes the TV timeouts kill me.

00:38:21
Speaker 6: But I will say.

00:38:24
Speaker 3: I appreciate that. Hang on, I'll let you finish. I appreciate that. But you just have to recognize you're in the minority. Like you've been a great caller for many years and you appreciate what we do on here. But when we when I like program KSR and I hope you know what I mean by this, I can't program it for Terry. Like Terry would listen to a two hour show where we talk about the base defense we ran and how it needed to go to this and you know this receiver would be better than this one, but I would not be able to get a crowd of people to come to Levin. And if I if I programmed for Terry, it's gonna be really good for a handful of people, but it's not gonna be the show it is UK Football All can't program for Terry. It has to program for the regular person who's coming, who maybe isn't as as as die hard a fan.

00:39:09
Speaker 6: I think you understand that, yes.

00:39:13
Speaker 14: But in terms of where you're asking Rick about the songs I had too for you back in that era that I'll put up against any rap song there is Okay, Doob Brothers trying to grove and Blue Rsh the Cult don't fear the Reaper.

00:39:28
Speaker 3: Yeah no, I mean again, like I love you all, but this is like you guys must be on the board of trustees making this decision. We've got to Chances are some of the songs we need to play, Drew I haven't even heard of right, That's like I know it's working if I don't know the song, because that's the point.

00:39:46
Speaker 6: I'm I'm I'm old now. I shouldn't know all these songs.

00:39:50
Speaker 5: One of the better moments in the game last week was they went to a Little Boozi's catalog and I thought that got the crowd going, I'm gonna assume Terry and Rick played out a lot of Little Boozy that they would play his dad.

00:40:00
Speaker 6: That was one of the better moments. Dad Boozy I liked.

00:40:03
Speaker 5: Little Boozy is not for me, and so they were wiping down in that moment, but it got the crowd going.

00:40:07
Speaker 6: I need to wipe down after stand out in the sun. Who's next? Is next? Jake go ahead, Jake.

00:40:14
