UK volleyball wins it's eighth straight title on Sunday, and now two games this week and then the UK Louisville football game Saturday, Big time in Kentucky Athletics. 00:01:24 Speaker 6: Yeah, all of a sudden, you look up and it's it's Louisville week for football. And a week from tomorrow we've got the Clemson game for basketball and then Gonzaga our trip. I mean, it's all has happened all one time. 00:01:35 Speaker 2: About the trip. 00:01:36 Speaker 5: We're six days away from getting in that car Ryan and driving from Cincinnati, Ohio to Seattle, Washington. 00:01:45 Speaker 2: How excited are you about that? 00:01:47 Speaker 6: Well, I'm decide I'm gonna do laundry today. I'm wanna get because I need to get it, get ahead of it, because the last minute, I'm sure I'm gonna need something. 00:01:54 Speaker 3: Didn't even answer the question, he said, how excited? He starts talking about laundry his wife. 00:02:00 Speaker 2: I don't care about your laundry. You don't. 00:02:02 Speaker 5: You're not gonna wear clean clothes anyway. So my question is are you excited about the trip? 00:02:07 Speaker 6: I gotta get my dogs taken care of. They get my parents make sure they're in well. 00:02:13 Speaker 2: Drew, I know you're excited. 00:02:14 Speaker 5: You're a man of adventure, and uh, you're ready to go. Think about all the states we're gonna see. We're gonna see, Uh, we're gonna see Iowa. We're gonna see South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. 00:02:29 Speaker 7: I'm excited about all those. 00:02:30 Speaker 8: I still have a fully zip suitcase from Texas that I have to unpack and uh, like Ryan, do some laundry. 00:02:36 Speaker 7: But I'm fired up for that trip. You know, I like the randomness. 00:02:38 Speaker 8: I don't even really care about the destination as much as I do the random evenings in towns I'll never see again. 00:02:43 Speaker 7: So I'm looking at that's exact. 00:02:45 Speaker 5: See, that's the attitude to have, Ryan, That's the attitude you want to have. He doesn't care about where we're going. He just wants to enjoy the trip. First time Mario is gonna be west of the Mississippi River. 00:02:55 Speaker 2: Yeah, coming up. I mean that's gotta be exciting, right then. 00:02:59 Speaker 6: The thing we say it all the time, The reason we do this because our shows we do on the road are some of my favorite shows we do all year. It gets a little a little slap happy sometimes. I think that's what makes for a good radio show. So that's the fun part about doing it. 00:03:11 Speaker 5: I agree, Now, Drew, you were in Austin, Texas. We know what happened in the game, we'll talk about it, but what about just being there in the atmosphere. I mean there were a lot of Kentucky fans in attendance, right, Oh my god. 00:03:24 Speaker 7: I couldn't believe it. 00:03:25 Speaker 8: I thought we were crazy because we flew out early Thursday trying to make a whole extra day out of it, and I couldn't believe how many people were at the airport early Thursday morning when we got there. It didn't matter what restaurant or bar you were walking in. There were UK fans everywhere. It was like a big pep ra ally all the way up until kickoff. And we'll get into that, but I just I don't go to a lot of these road games. This was only my second time ever doing it, but I felt like that was a huge showing by BBN. I mean we were everywhere in that city. 00:03:53 Speaker 5: Yeah, I what would you say, like, you know that that's a huge stadium. You're talking right crazy? What would you say? Percentage of Kentucky fans. We were a small dent. I think Ryan was just telling me. 00:04:05 Speaker 8: In the TV broadcast you could kind of see that one corner of UK fans had two sections there, and then our group they gave us like the top thirty rows Kentucky fans on the other side of the building. So even though it felt like we were everywhere, that place is so enormous, it's almost hard to comprehend how big it was and just the scene around it. It was so different than like an SEC school, Like there's no tailgates. You just go to bars and restaurants and they have like a fan zone that you go in. It's not like we have here. It all miss or anywhere else where. You walk around and people have setups. It's it's almost like a pro event. But there's just so many people. 00:04:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. 00:04:40 Speaker 5: The campus up there is all kind of it's all not far from the stadium, and you're exactly right, people just kind of hang out at the at the bars there. It really isn't a tailgate scene like SEC schools, just a kind of a different different environment. 00:04:55 Speaker 2: Well, let's start with it with the football. 00:04:57 Speaker 5: I think that's gonna be where most people's minds are Ryan. 00:05:02 Speaker 2: I mean, you know, they didn't get blown out. 00:05:07 Speaker 5: I thought they were competitive most of the game, but it was clear that Texas was better. 00:05:12 Speaker 2: I actually think they got jobbed a little. 00:05:15 Speaker 5: Bit on some calls that could have been that would have made it, you know, a touchdown closer, but they were but Texas was the better team. I think the story coming out of the game is you put Cutter bowleean in the second half, he ends up throwing for almost two hundred yards, and it's there's no question the team had more of a spark, The team had more energy. You know, they just looked better. And Cutter did not look like a deer in headlights. He came out played tough. Nick Rouse reporter that Matthew McConaughey came to cut her after to cut her after the game and said, I like the way you play. 00:05:49 Speaker 2: That's got to be exciting. 00:05:52 Speaker 5: So I think the question coming out of the game is really simple, is this Cutter's team next week? 00:05:57 Speaker 2: Next week against Louisville. 00:05:59 Speaker 6: You know, for every one of us that watched the game, we saw how much better the offense looked in the second half when Cutter was quarterback. They just they looked better. There seemed to be a better tempo, they moved the chains. So going into Louisville game, if you start Cutter, we're pretty much saying goodbye to Brock. 00:06:18 Speaker 2: So that's I mean, that's the decision. That's the decision. 00:06:21 Speaker 5: So two weeks last week we were sitting here about the same time, we had the conversation who would you start the last two games? And my argument was, you can beat Louisville, you want to be competitive against Texas, you start the guy who's most able to do that. 00:06:37 Speaker 2: And the answer is Brock. That was my argument a week ago. 00:06:40 Speaker 5: All right, So now we're down to one game and you're playing a Louisville team. You're a three point underdog, but you certainly can win that game. And I still think you take the view that we're gonna play the guy who gives us the best chance to win. 00:06:55 Speaker 2: But drew you you last week said play Cutter. 00:06:58 Speaker 5: So I know what you're what your opinion is gonna be on this, But I'm now to the point that I actually think it may be the case Cutter gives you a better chance to win. 00:07:07 Speaker 2: And if you do, if you believe that then you start Cutter. 00:07:10 Speaker 5: But I do think it's important to understand that if you start Cutter. 00:07:14 Speaker 2: You're probably saying to Brock see you. 00:07:19 Speaker 5: Similarly, if you start Brock after Cutter's had a good game, there's a question of does that mean you're saying see you to Cutter. I mean, I feel like Mark stoops and he'll talk to the media today at noon. I feel like, whoever goes out there under center is your quarterback for next year. And at that point I think Drew doesn't it have to be Cutter? 00:07:40 Speaker 2: Boldly? 00:07:41 Speaker 8: Yeah, Like I said, I wanted him the whole time in Austin, and even when he came in. I know, the play calling's a little different because they're so far behind and they're having to, you know, dial up a little more passing than their usual, but it almost seems like the play calling is a little more confident Cutter too. They were letting him work a little more and it could have been the deficit, but he just even though he's a freshman, I feel like he sees the field and was a little more mobile than even Brock is, and I trust him more coming into this week, honestly, and then being so much younger looking long term, I'd rather a freshman that looks good have the keys than a guy with one year left who looks very banged up. I mean they Daniear killed him in that Tennessee game a few weeks ago, So I just I worry about bron Brock's health, and I just think Cutter looks so much better right now. 00:08:21 Speaker 5: I thought Cuder looked really, really good. So let's just vote. You're the start, You're the coach, You're starting. Drew is clearly starting Cutter. Ryan, who you start? 00:08:32 Speaker 6: I'm like you, I think I flipped. I think I think Cutter is your quarterback of the future. I think he proved in one of the toughest environments and one of the best teams in the country. He held his own and I think you started him against Louisville and only that. I think you're playing the whole game regardless what he does. You can't start him and then make a change at halftime. 00:08:49 Speaker 7: I think you go and. 00:08:50 Speaker 2: Stick with saying goodbye to Brock. 00:08:53 Speaker 6: I think the Brock experiment didn't work because we thought it was going to and I think we got to build to the future, So I go with Brock. 00:08:58 Speaker 2: So that's two votes. Shannon, what about you? 00:09:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, if I'm being completely honest, I think the Brock Vandergriff tenure here has been disappointing. It's been on a steady decline as we've gone throughout the season. If you're looking for the future, and I think Mark Stoops is you gotta start Cutter. I mean, because if you start Brock, you bring him back next year. What's changed? You're going through the same cycle again next year with a tougher schedule. 00:09:22 Speaker 4: I think Cutter's your guy. 00:09:25 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I was leaning Cutter, and then I actually after our postgame show, I saw his postgame remarks where he talked about the team, and I would say Drew. He talked about the team like he's already the starter. He talked about how we're building for the future. We think we have something special. He talked about it. He talked like a guy. 00:09:46 Speaker 2: Who was gonna start, And I think you just have to do that. 00:09:49 Speaker 5: You know, when they signed Brock, they signed him kind of under a two year pledge, and so there's that element that I think you still I don't know what that means in the anile world, but you can't let that kid, go Drew. 00:10:06 Speaker 2: You just can't cut her. I mean, you can't lose that. 00:10:10 Speaker 5: He went on the road against a team that's really really good, a great defensive line, and he made plays and move the ball for me. 00:10:22 Speaker 2: That makes the decision at that point. 00:10:25 Speaker 7: Yeah, and just adding to it, I mean, he's from right down the road. 00:10:28 Speaker 8: We all have dreams that he'll be the next Kentucky kid that leads this team. I like that him getting his first starts against Louisville because maybe he does pull it off and we all get a little bit excited into the future with him and around him. I hope they can retain Willcox hardly, Gilmore, Willie Rodriguez. You got a couple of young offensive linemen'. There's some potential for a year or two down the road with that offense because they have a lot of young talent this year that we've just seen little flashes of. 00:10:53 Speaker 5: Yeah, Willie was the great highest graded player on the team on Saturday. So then the second part of that is the coach. You know, you've heard me do my little spiel Ryan about if Mark Stoops believes he wants to be the coach, he's gotta you know, he's got to commit to it, et cetera. I it feels like to me, Ryan, every week this fan base becomes more disgruntled with with. 00:11:23 Speaker 2: Stoops and. 00:11:26 Speaker 5: I just kind of and you tell me what you think, but I just kind of feel like Saturday is kind of a d day for him, Like Saturday is, you know. I think he's gotta win, and I think if he doesn't win, it's gotta be like a heartbreaking loss. 00:11:44 Speaker 2: I think anything but. 00:11:46 Speaker 5: A game where we either win or we're right there on the final play, and you're gonna start to see a fan base really turn. 00:11:56 Speaker 2: I was shocked. 00:11:57 Speaker 5: We probably had three or four different callers on the postgame show say to me that they are season ticket holders who will not renew if there's not a change at the top. I mean, that is that's a pretty eye opening thing, isn't it. 00:12:12 Speaker 6: I think it's very eye opening because he was our he was our leader for SOONA and I'm still on the boat. I want him to be the coach, but he's got to want it, And like you said, I think the decision is totally up to him if they have a blowout loss or they don't perform well, and it just his heart is not in it and he needs to step down because he's got, like Drew said, a lot of young guys that can help build up the program up. But you gotta be in it, totally in it, and I don't know if he if he is right now? 00:12:37 Speaker 2: So are we gonna win? 00:12:38 Speaker 5: Drew, let's let's let's go or I mean we'll make our official predictions. I guess probably, well, I guess it'll be on the pregame show Saturday morning. But let's just where's your head right now? Do you think we win our sixth straight against Louisville on Saturday? 00:12:55 Speaker 7: Oddly? 00:12:56 Speaker 2: I do. 00:12:57 Speaker 8: I'm disappointed in the team just as much as anyone, but Stoops just has a way of getting them fired up for the Louisville game. I think there's a genuine hatred in that locker room for the Louisville Cardinals, and even though they had a big win this past weekend, that isn't helping my optimism. 00:13:13 Speaker 7: I just feel like we're gonna do it again. 00:13:14 Speaker 8: I mean, last year you went into Louisville and you've got Baryon Brown giving the LS down to somebody in the band and he takes a kickback. I mean, they just get fired up for that game. And if he does go with Bowlie, I think he can give him a good shot. Which sounds crazy because they've been so disappointing this year, But I still feel like Stoops will find a way to keep the Governor's cuping home. 00:13:33 Speaker 2: Shandon, are we beating Louisville? 00:13:35 Speaker 3: Yes, I feel like Stoops is at his best when his back's against the wall. 00:13:38 Speaker 4: I mean, you can go all the way back to early in his career. 00:13:40 Speaker 3: When was it the Mississippi State game where we got a game winning field goal and we had to have that one otherwise he may not be the coach the following season. And Drew's right something about that Louisville game where this team just turns into a completely different team from what we've seen all season. 00:13:53 Speaker 4: So I think Kentucky wins. 00:13:55 Speaker 2: Ryan. 00:13:56 Speaker 6: I thought Louisville's gonna blow us out last year. I mean I really did. I thought that was gonna be an ugly game, and Kentucky found a way to win it at Louisville. The fact that it's on at Krogerfield this time, the fact that we've seen if they go at Cutter we've seen backup quarterbacks kind of step up and shine in this game. Who wasn't Justin Burke that one year and then leaving Lamar? I think Lamar made his coming out party. 00:14:17 Speaker 2: Will Stein came in one year. 00:14:19 Speaker 5: That it's always been on Louisville's side, but they've always had they have had backups come in and play us Lamar most famously. 00:14:26 Speaker 6: Yes, So if if Cutters our guy, let's ride the Cutter train and let's get that w on Saturday. 00:14:33 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:14:33 Speaker 3: I don't know, Shannon, what Lovell did lose to a really bad Stafford team just two weeks ago, so you. 00:14:39 Speaker 2: Know, just blow it out and they want it bad. I don't know. Come on, I mean, I mean by. 00:14:48 Speaker 5: Saturday, I'm sure I'm gonna pick them, But if I had to pick today. 00:14:53 Speaker 2: I don't know. In Lexington two, it is, but it's at noon. 00:15:01 Speaker 4: Doobs hates night games, so he loves day games. 00:15:04 Speaker 5: They're gonna win, I know, But there's just there's just some vibes that I don't I'm a vibe guy, and there's just some vibes I'm hearing that makes me makes me a little nervous. He if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. The text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. We're gonna take a break. Take your calls. What do you think Cutter or Brock stoops or not stoops? 00:15:26 Speaker 7: Order stoop? 00:15:26 Speaker 2: No stoops. 00:15:28 Speaker 5: We'll go with that, and then basketball huge win Saturday against Jackson State Friday. 00:15:32 Speaker 2: We'll take a break. 00:15:33 Speaker 5: Very backs KSR walk them back in is Kentucky Sports Radio? 00:15:38 Speaker 2: He if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. 00:15:41 Speaker 5: Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. 00:15:46 Speaker 2: One person writes, Matt, just admit it. 00:15:49 Speaker 5: You decided you didn't like Brock when he started running the commercials for milk on your show, and by the way, that was not intentional. 00:15:56 Speaker 4: I haven't heard them. There's a b Yeah, they. 00:15:58 Speaker 5: Run, they run on this show, they run on the game broadcast, they run on television. 00:16:02 Speaker 2: Brock does commercials. 00:16:05 Speaker 5: Drew from milk, and I don't think he was doing it before I said my line about milk a couple of weeks ago. 00:16:11 Speaker 7: No, I've seen those. 00:16:12 Speaker 8: You're right, They're everywhere, and I've been meaning to look up the actual chain of events there. Did we did we make fun of milk, and then he made the commercial or was he first? 00:16:19 Speaker 7: And then we made fun of milk. 00:16:20 Speaker 5: I think the commercial was taped before we made it, but I don't think it started running till after my milk comment. And now I hear that brock milk thing all the time Ryan and I do go, well, that wasn't what I thought would happen. 00:16:35 Speaker 6: Yeah, bad timing for that, that campaign to start after we were kind of you were kind of hard on milk, kind of are there for a couple of weeks? 00:16:43 Speaker 5: Well, you know, I mean, what do you want me to say? You had something you were gonna ask Shannon? 00:16:47 Speaker 2: What was it? 00:16:48 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we went to that break there. It's sort of ominous. 00:16:50 Speaker 3: You're talking about the things that you've been hearing, and I thought maybe, uh, Ryan would questioned what that was, but since he didn't, I will what do you know? 00:16:59 Speaker 4: What can you say? What are you hearing? 00:17:01 Speaker 2: I mean, I just think there's not great vibes around the team. 00:17:05 Speaker 5: I think you you know, I talked about this a lot on the postgame show, and if you kind of care about the future of the program, I went into a lot of detail in the first segment on the program show on the postgame show. But I this next week, they're gonna play on Saturday and then starting Sunday. Really while we're driving to Seattle from the Sunday we leave until you get to the next weekend, and then even more so the next week, it's gonna be a wild season in college football. You're gonna have the transfer portal, you're gonna have you're gonna have signing day, coaches making decisions, and I'm just hearing a lot of stuff that concerns me about the future of who's gonna be here and who's not. I mean, I think, you know, sometimes kids will say they're not gonna be here and they end up staying. And then sometimes kids think they'll stay and they don't. But like I just Ryan, I just feel like there's a world. This would be the world. 00:18:07 Speaker 2: That I think would be the most negative. 00:18:09 Speaker 5: A world where you're bringing I mean, think about a world where Stoops comes back, but you were to lose Brad White and you were to lose some of your most talented players to the portal, and then you're trying to come back next year and get people excited, and that's gonna be very hard to do. And I just I just don't like the vibes I'm hearing. Not that the PEAT players aren't getting along, but just what may happen here in a week or two. And if everyone knows that, I think it's gonna be hard to get focused to play that game Saturday against Louisville. 00:18:42 Speaker 6: I think you're right. And if they don't, if they don't win or they get blown out, that's gonna carry into the often. There's no extra month of practice for us to get ready for a ball game anymore. This is it. 00:18:52 Speaker 5: But I mean, I've just heard a lot of people who were kind of thinking that this may be it. And if that's the case, and again, you never know. But if that's the case, how do you rally the troops and get everybody in there to beat Louisville in the most important rivalry game of the year. 00:19:11 Speaker 8: That's another reason I would go to Cutter, because maybe going to him could inject a little life. Maybe other guys on the team will think, hey, we're making a change, let's be at our best for him. Maybe handing over the keys to him can reinject some things. But just that and the hatred for Louisville, the only thing's given me hope because from an actual football standpoint, how this game, how this season has gone so far, it's been disappointing, and you really wouldn't pick them to beat many teams, especially one that just beat Pitt by thirty. But maybe given Cutter the keys to the ship, will give them life for one more week. 00:19:43 Speaker 5: So I hope I'm wrong, But you know, just just to give you an example, I mean, this is just a fact. So Drew and Ryan and Shannon and Mario and I will be in a car starting Sunday, And basically I told everyone that works at the website, like, no vacation, Shannon, no time like next week, no time off like just assume that it could be like a circus next week, right, And I think it could. I'm not saying it will, but I think it could. I think there could be a lot of stuff going on back to back to back to back, and you know, I just don't know how the program, how it will look, Shannon coming out on the other side. 00:20:24 Speaker 3: Of that, I just hope that the entire program doesn't fall apart. With our coaches, coach assistant coaches transfer portal. I mean, you're right, it has the potential for this team to be completely different next season if if we lose our head coach. 00:20:38 Speaker 4: In quarterbacks, we haven't, I. 00:20:40 Speaker 2: Mean we're not playing in a bowl. We haven't. 00:20:42 Speaker 5: We haven't not played in a bowl in eight years. In December, normally you're doing bowl practice, Ryan, and that keeps your team together, right, everyone is in one place now that's gone now. 00:20:55 Speaker 2: So during this transfer portal. 00:20:57 Speaker 5: Season, you used to have this sort of in this this thing that kept your guys there and kept them connected. 00:21:05 Speaker 2: Well, we don't have that now. 00:21:07 Speaker 5: So as these guys are deciding what to do, they don't have to go look at their teammates and practice the next day. They can just like be of themselves and go away. And that worries me. 00:21:18 Speaker 2: We haven't. We've not had that situation in a long time. 00:21:21 Speaker 6: That's a great concern to have, because you're right, man, these guys the last two seasons have kind of been disappointing, but went over Louisville and then the December practices. Everything kind of flipped the last couple of years in December when they were practicing getting rid of a bowl game, bringing in, you know, get some commitments, get some transfer guys, to commit that may all disappear now this year. If they don't, they can't win this game on Saturday. 00:21:43 Speaker 2: Yeah, who's up next? 00:21:44 Speaker 4: Ship, Let's go to Hayes. 00:21:47 Speaker 2: Hayes, Go ahead, Hayes. 00:21:50 Speaker 9: Any first time? Long time? 00:21:52 Speaker 2: Who are. 00:21:54 Speaker 8: Uh? 00:21:54 Speaker 9: So I was down there at the game. First off, I thought Drew had mentioned it. But there was a serial killer on the loop in Austin, which which was a different dynamical we weren't expecting there. And I say that because I'm going to come back to that. 00:22:07 Speaker 2: But what do you mean? There was a serial killer? 00:22:11 Speaker 9: There's a serial killer on the loose in Austin. That was kind of like the buzz the whole time we were down there. 00:22:16 Speaker 7: So you know that, Drew, that's the first I've heard of it. 00:22:21 Speaker 8: But I was feeling no pain in Texas, soial killer was not one of my shoes. 00:22:25 Speaker 2: I know that. 00:22:28 Speaker 9: Well, I'm gonna come back to the serial killer because I think I have a lead. 00:22:31 Speaker 2: There that long. This can't be a six part story. 00:22:34 Speaker 9: Go ahead at the game, I thought to you, because the you know, it's really steep in the upper level and we were kind of where Drew was, and you know, there's no seatbacks to the bleachers. So you're sitting on the bleachers and there was this woman in front of us, and she was a normal sized woman, but she was sitting really far back and kind of kept like falling into us. So after about three quarters we're like, all right, ladies, you gotta quit falling into her. The only. 00:23:05 Speaker 2: TJ. 00:23:06 Speaker 4: Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. 00:23:08 Speaker 7: He'll make them pay. 00:23:09 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:13 Speaker 4: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:14 Speaker 5: You know that guy had ah he said he had a lead on the serial killer, but then he just let it go. 00:23:20 Speaker 2: You know, I'm talking about a woman like leaning back in her chair. 00:23:23 Speaker 3: You know, if I had a lead on a serial killer, I might lead with that. That might be more important than a person just leaning back to me. 00:23:28 Speaker 2: Right, He didn't think so the game was he was. He wanted to talk about that the more important. 00:23:34 Speaker 5: Let me ask you a question, Drew. I have a friend and you you're friends with this person too. It's a woman who after every UK football game on Sunday, she calls the SEC office and leaves a message with all the calls that were missed in the Kentucky nice. She does it every Sunday. Not gonna say who she is, but she's someone that all of us. I think Shannon may not, but I know Ryan Drew, you all know her. 00:24:03 Speaker 2: Is that? What is that normal behavior? You think? 00:24:06 Speaker 5: To call and like she'll have the time on the clock and the call missed and she will leave it at the office. 00:24:13 Speaker 2: Do you like that? 00:24:15 Speaker 7: First? I wouldn't call it normal, but I will say I like it. 00:24:18 Speaker 8: I like the passion. We need somebody to do it. I mean Stoops isn't allowed to comment or he gets fine. We need to apply any of pressure we can get when they when they are calls that need to be called out. So yeah, even though I wouldn't call it normal, I am supportive of whoever this is and what she does every Sunday. 00:24:34 Speaker 2: Ryan. Do you like that? 00:24:35 Speaker 6: That's some dedication that we think we need from everybody to do something like that, to keep track of the calls and then call in the SEC office the next morning. I think that's a beautiful thing. 00:24:45 Speaker 5: One person writes, Matt, my grandkids and I watched Paddington iiO this weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed it and I want to thank you. It is one of the best movies I've ever seen. 00:24:55 Speaker 2: There you go, Shanon. 00:24:57 Speaker 3: Yeah, I watched the first twenty minutes of it. It didn't change my life like you said that. One person said, oh, it's a life changing movie. 00:25:03 Speaker 4: Didn't do it for me. 00:25:04 Speaker 7: I don't know. 00:25:04 Speaker 2: They didn't get to the end. 00:25:06 Speaker 5: That the part, the part where your life changes is towards the end of it. 00:25:10 Speaker 4: Okay, well, i'll tell you what. 00:25:11 Speaker 3: I will watch that while we're on our trip and if my life changes somewhere between here and I'll watch it. 00:25:18 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:25:19 Speaker 5: Well, another person writes, Matt, I watched Paddington too. I'm not sure a fifty five year old single male is who is supposed to be watching this. I don't think my life change. That's more you, Shannon. Yeah, you're more of that response. 00:25:30 Speaker 3: I don't think that you and I are necessarily the demo, but maybe older people, maybe somebody with kids. 00:25:36 Speaker 2: I think it's more. 00:25:36 Speaker 7: Of the kids. 00:25:37 Speaker 5: But I'm just saying people say it's really good, That's all I'm saying. I'm not you know, you can, you can try it. I'll tell you what. People didn't like Ryan, and that was Fox fifty six's decision not to play the Ohio State Indiana game. That first of all, if you've been listening to this show, Ryan, I warned everybody, right, you know, everybody acted surprise. I warned everyone what was coming, because when I heard about it, I knew it was gonna raise an uproar. But it raised a lot bigger uproar than people thought. They decided not to show Ohio State in Indiana and instead showed a boys and girls high school preseason game. It was great crossing and George Rogers Clark Boys and then Girls. 00:26:25 Speaker 2: They ran it on Fox. 00:26:27 Speaker 5: Fifty six instead of Ohio State Indiana and the city collectively lost its mind. Shannon, if you want to laugh, go to Fox, go to Twitter, put in Fox fifty six news, and just look at the comments from the last two or three days. 00:26:41 Speaker 4: I'm on it right now. 00:26:42 Speaker 5: People losing their minds upset. We had it at the bar, right. I think over the course of the day more and more Ohio State and Indiana fans just found their way into the bar because it was the only way they could watch it. 00:26:54 Speaker 6: Yeah, we had. We had a good crowd of Indiana fans and Ohio State fans here started ready to watch the game and then when it wasn't on the high school basketball game, they were a little upset start with. But how about the fact that on the Fox fifty six website, if you went to it, they had their weekend weather Guy photo of him up, and that's who people associated with what was going on was the weekend weather You. 00:27:14 Speaker 2: Weren't here for this. 00:27:15 Speaker 5: Unfortunately, poor guy, whoever the weekend weather guy is, he got all the blank. People just found him on Twitter and started yelling at him. 00:27:27 Speaker 2: As if it was his decision. 00:27:28 Speaker 5: Because Ryan's right, he made the mistake of posting. So if you went to the Fox fifty six Twitter account, the first post was one about him, was one of him, and then on the website was his picture. So everyone just wrote him and act like it was his decision. He had an awful Saturday. It just I'm sure they had that scheduled a long time ago, but it ended up. 00:27:53 Speaker 2: Just kind of blowing up in their face. 00:27:55 Speaker 8: Yeah, I was in another part of the country and even I felt to the anger from Lexington getting on Twitter or people were just bringing up at bars after our game, you hear, but they did back home, So it was it even made it all the way to Texas. 00:28:07 Speaker 7: How upset people were around here that they didn't make it. 00:28:09 Speaker 2: It was on national websites? Was it? They were on national websites? 00:28:14 Speaker 5: Ryan making like commenting on the fact that Ohio State Indiana wasn't on for a preseason high school basketball game. 00:28:21 Speaker 6: It was just one of the biggest college football games of the year, the one they everybody talked about it all week long. 00:28:27 Speaker 2: And we border, like two states. We border. 00:28:30 Speaker 5: It's not like you know, it's not like it was UCLA Washington. 00:28:34 Speaker 2: It was two states, Ryan, we border. Yeah. 00:28:39 Speaker 6: Not the best decision by Fox fifty six, and it's one it's gonna we're gonna remember for a long time because the fans in here that were ready to watch the game were not happy when that high school basketball game came on. 00:28:48 Speaker 4: You type in Fox fifty six on Twitter. 00:28:50 Speaker 3: The second tweet Fox fifty six is going straight to hell. 00:29:00 Speaker 2: I like that. Well, we ended up getting it at the bar right, Yes, played it on the computer. 00:29:05 Speaker 6: Yeah, and we had it out even on the big screen that it was ninety effective I think most of the game and people got to watch Ohio State kick Indiana's butt. 00:29:14 Speaker 5: Yeah, Indiana exactly what I thought would happen happened. But let me ask you, though, Drew. Let's say you're in charge of the TV station. You have this set because you think it's gonna be a football game that doesn't matter, and then they switch it to Ohio State Indiana. But you've already got all these high school kids excited that you're coming to film them and they're gonna be on TV. Are you just telling the high school kids sorry, like you're not gonna You're just gonna have to eat it. 00:29:40 Speaker 8: Yep, sorry about that. We'll try to add you another game later in the year. I think they have to recognize that people are gonna be so angry you kind of making the the the high school kids villains here, like no one wants to watch them, and you know no one's gonna be bashing a high school kid on Twitter, but you're putting them in a bad spot, knowing nobody wants to see that except their parents. 00:29:59 Speaker 5: That's another person I felt sorry for. Ryan was the reporter assigned to the game. He would send out messages from the game and people would. 00:30:06 Speaker 2: Just be like, you're the worst. Why is this on again? Like it was his fault. I just felt I felt bad for all of them. 00:30:14 Speaker 6: You know, in this day and age, all these stations have alternate channels. I just I don't understand why they didn't put that high school game on one of their alternate channels and then play the Ohio State Indiana football game on their main channel. 00:30:24 Speaker 2: I don't know. 00:30:25 Speaker 4: Why can't we make them the computer game? 00:30:26 Speaker 3: We get all these computer games for Kentucky basketball can't even get the game on TV. 00:30:30 Speaker 4: But yet we were forced to watch. 00:30:31 Speaker 2: This and it wasn't even a real game. Yeah, it was a scrimmage. 00:30:36 Speaker 4: Their high schoolers. They know how to get on the computer. Those old people don't even know how to log in put their game. 00:30:41 Speaker 2: On the computer. 00:30:42 Speaker 5: Unbelievable, but not the best decision, uh for From the from Fox fifty six. 00:30:48 Speaker 2: Who's next? Shit? 00:30:49 Speaker 4: Bluegrass? 00:30:50 Speaker 2: Bluegrass? Go ahead? 00:30:53 Speaker 10: They had it going. Man, I want to say, how proud are you a billy? In the post game? From Jack the state game? Are you such a proud father? 00:31:01 Speaker 2: I didn't hear it. Did he do a good job? Yes he did? 00:31:05 Speaker 10: Oh no, it was really good. 00:31:07 Speaker 11: He actually listens, He actually listens to hear that listens to our take, has a comment about it. 00:31:12 Speaker 10: Oh, it was great. 00:31:14 Speaker 5: Yeah, but I like you, and I'll listen to some of your takes, but I don't need to listen to the whole thing like some of It's fine. 00:31:23 Speaker 10: Well, I got a question for you. 00:31:25 Speaker 11: This little scenario you were talking about traveling. We travel to a home to Thanksgiving that's a cal Perry home. I mean, they absolutely love Cal. So how do I go about this Pope Cow conversation with and still get to eat this day? 00:31:39 Speaker 5: Well, I would tell you if they still want cal after all that's happened, then there, then they've lost their minds. I mean, if they watched the beginning of this season saw us beat Duke, they've watched the results Cows had at Arkansas and they still think it was a mistake for that change to make, then you're dealing with irrational people and you just eat your turkey, shut up, and get out of. 00:32:00 Speaker 10: There, all right. I appreciate Phils appreciate. 00:32:05 Speaker 2: I don't know, Drew. 00:32:06 Speaker 5: I don't understand how today you could still be a cow person, do you. 00:32:11 Speaker 8: I mean, you can still think fondly of what he did here. But I think if you're just watching results in uh kind of a slow decline and how successful he's been Yeah, I mean, it's pretty evident things have changed around him. 00:32:24 Speaker 5: Is there anyone in Kentucky, Ryan, who you think still wishes it was cal instead of Pope? 00:32:30 Speaker 6: I personally don't know of anybody. I guess that guy knows somebody's going to have Thanksgiving with. But yeah, just especially with what Pope and UK has done so far this season, how can you not be excited about that? 00:32:40 Speaker 5: I mean, Shannon, the people on social media that were the most pro cow, that were the you know you all that want Cow gone are treason? This all that they're now all in on Pope. They flipped like as quickly as you can flip, and now they're equally as angry if anyone ever criticizes Pope, like, I don't know anyone out that has flipped on the idea that it was the right time for this to happen. 00:33:08 Speaker 3: I'm sure there's someone out there right who just loves Caliperi for whatever reason. But there's nothing that you can be negative about Mark Pope about so far. I mean, he's been about as close to perfect as you can be. 00:33:20 Speaker 4: So I don't know why you would still not want I can't. 00:33:23 Speaker 2: I don't know what it would be that you. 00:33:25 Speaker 5: I guess what I would say is what is it you would want that he hasn't already done? Like, what what what would you ask for? I can't even think of what it would be, what it would be? Who's next? 00:33:34 Speaker 4: Sean from Austin? 00:33:35 Speaker 2: Sean got about a minute? Go ahead, Sean, I can't hear him. All right, sorry, Sean, Well we'll, we'll, we'll, let's come back. 00:33:47 Speaker 4: Let's try Alex. 00:33:48 Speaker 2: Alex gweat Alex. 00:33:51 Speaker 12: Morning Man, real quick sauce. I don't have a lot of time. 00:33:53 Speaker 2: I'm going to say. 00:33:54 Speaker 12: I think this game this weekend it's huge for the future of the program. I think one, depending on who you start, sends a message on are we going young? Are we gonna run it back? And it also pushes some players out because they think they know we're going young. And Two, Unlike last year where a win against Louisville kind of saves Stoops in the eyes of the family base, I don't think a wind saves him, but I do think a loss really, really really sends a lot of negativity up the family. I totally foorder line Pat Sissy for next year. 00:34:22 Speaker 5: I totally agree with that second statement. I think that's what makes it hard. I appreciate the call. I don't think a win saves him. I think it did that last year. And I think a loss just. 00:34:32 Speaker 2: Makes things really toxic. It's a very tough situation. 00:34:36 Speaker 5: Don Franklin's Black Friday savings are all month long Don Franklin Family Dealerships. At Don Franklin Auto dot com, It's Don Franklin Auto, Driven by Family. 00:35:08 Speaker 2: We'll take a break of berry Back. It's KSR. 00:35:17 Speaker 5: Welcome back, take e Sports Radio chanton. My favorite weekend moment of the weekend was the air Arizona State BYU game where Arizona State looks like they're gonna wine and then the crowd storms the field, but there's still a second. 00:35:35 Speaker 2: Left, one second left, one second left, so they. 00:35:41 Speaker 5: Basically try to get them all to leave the field, they can't, so they all stand on the sidelines, all the students for the final play, like literally, they surround the field with students, and then they do the play again. It doesn't work, and they storm the field a second time. But I have two questions about the end of that game. First of all, Drew, how in the WARLD world is it the case that you uh that they didn't have a penalty for the for the fans storming the field. How is that not a fifteen yard penalty they made that they delayed the game for fifteen minutes? 00:36:13 Speaker 9: True? 00:36:13 Speaker 2: How's that not a penalty? 00:36:14 Speaker 8: Should have been several penalties. They should have created a penalty to give them. I mean, if you have a coach or someone to take too many steps onto the field during the game, it's a penalty. But if your whole crowd rushes and storms the field, that's not a penalty. How's a pretty absurd plot twist and a very absurd ending to that game. 00:36:31 Speaker 2: I mean, why wouldn't fans just do that all the time? Right? If you can, if you can storm the. 00:36:35 Speaker 5: Field with no ramifications, should that not have been? 00:36:39 Speaker 2: Should be? Why you not have been fifteen yards closer on that last play, delay of game. 00:36:44 Speaker 6: Yes, they absolutely should have got a flag and a fifteen yard penalty. There's no question about it. 00:36:48 Speaker 7: Should have been aggravated delay of game. Yeah, forty five yards. 00:36:52 Speaker 5: Even the play before that, it was a throw into the stands, Shannon, They threw all six rows into the stands. 00:37:02 Speaker 2: How's that not intentional grounding? How's it not? I mean he didn't leave the pocket, he just takes it and throws it into the stands. That's gotta be intentional grounding, doesn't it. 00:37:12 Speaker 4: I would I thought so when I was watching it. 00:37:14 Speaker 3: I think, now we know, if we just don't let a call, we can all just run onto the field and there's nothing that's gonna happen. 00:37:19 Speaker 2: Nothing that's gonna happen. 00:37:22 Speaker 7: Everybody. 00:37:22 Speaker 5: The second thing that I couldn't believe was was the coach losing his mind. 00:37:28 Speaker 2: Ryan, Did you see that? Yep. 00:37:31 Speaker 5: So they're looking at the little monitor to see if there's extra time. The coach is standing there and I don't know this coach. I think his name is doing him. But the coach is absolutely going crazy, screaming that there's no way there can be a second left. Now, Ryan, I have no idea how he could have known that He's not looking at the monitor. There's no way for him to know if you look at the monitor. There clearly was a second left. He's going nuts, and his wife is sitting there with a smiled She looks like a like she's going like he is losing his mind, and his wife is just sitting there smiling like a Stepford wife. The whole thing was hilarious to me. I don't know who that guy is, but I wouldn't want to get on his bad side. 00:38:15 Speaker 6: I don't think no flag on him either, you know, going crazy like that to the officials, they don't let that go. But probably an assistant coach was talking in his ears, Sawid up in the booth, telling him, hey man, there's still one second. That's all he needed to hear, that's all he needed to go with. 00:38:28 Speaker 7: I thought doing him was gonna murder that ref. He looked like he had no control of his emotions. He thought he was actually gonna hit him. 00:38:34 Speaker 2: I'm totally agree with you. 00:38:35 Speaker 5: I have never seen a coach that looked that out of control to me, like, and no one was trying to hold him back, sitting there were just letting him go insane on this referee. 00:38:47 Speaker 2: I don't know how that wasn't a pedal. 00:38:49 Speaker 3: If they saw a basketball game coach gets teed up, they probably do another technical foul on the crowd for rushing the court, and somehow everybody just. 00:38:57 Speaker 4: Got off scott free in this football game. 00:38:58 Speaker 5: I don't understand how there wasn't a penalty for throwing in the stands, for running on the field, or for that dude losing his mind. I mean, those were again, I go back to the culture of these games. If a basketball coach yell was like that penalty, but we let football coaches, basically Drew just go insane on referees. 00:39:19 Speaker 2: And you never see a penalty for that. 00:39:21 Speaker 8: No, Like you said, that was one of the craziest I've ever seen how mad he was. He had his wife standing right next to him. She's kind of looking at him like, are you gonna cal him down? 00:39:29 Speaker 7: Or is this gonna be an issue? 00:39:31 Speaker 2: I mean it's like she knew she had the rest of the night that to deal with that dude. 00:39:35 Speaker 5: But well, they ended up winning and it didn't matter, but it was a wild, wild scene. 00:39:40 Speaker 4: Who's up next, Let's try Sean from Austin again. 00:39:42 Speaker 2: Sean, go ahead, Sean. 00:39:44 Speaker 10: Yeah, Hey, guys, I was out the game. 00:39:46 Speaker 13: Two things, the Kentucky fans all they were kind of sprinkled all around the stadium, so it was it was awesome to see that they were fantastic. And I spoke with people to my left and my right that were Kentucky fans there, and it just from us from up in the nosebleed seats. Uh, you know, with with Cutter in the game, it just felt like Kentucky was just a more engaged and active team moving the football. Uh So, I mean, even the people that we're talking to, they all agreed that were Kentucky. And the second thing, again with Stoops is you know I said about a month ago that you know, that leadership is gone and like the sauce is gone and you can't put that toothpaste back in the tube. So again I was talking with the fans to the left and right of me from Kentucky about that, and and they're they're pretty much done. Their patience has worn out on that. So I'm I still love the Cats even though I'm here in Austin, and I love Casar and I love you guys, So thank. 00:40:42 Speaker 2: You, guys. Appreciate it. 00:40:43 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it may be the case that there's a group of people that if they don't play cutter, you know, you lose their support. 00:40:50 Speaker 2: I don't know. 00:40:52 Speaker 5: I think I just if you, if you kind of get a sense, like I said, of the vibes around the program, I think the best way to fix the vibes is to is to make a change, at least at the quarterback position, and then ask me again after the game Saturday, because I think there's I just don't like what I'm hearing behind the scenes. I don't like what I'm hearing about discipline, I don't like what I'm hearing about work in practice. I just I think a lot of the things that were the foundation of Mark Stoops teams are not happening right now, and it's very very disappointing to me and not necessary, not necessarily make me very optimistic for the future. 00:41:39 Speaker 2: Who's next, Doug. 00:41:40 Speaker 5: Doug, go ahead, Doug got about a minute. 00:41:43 Speaker 14: Okay, my take on the coaching situation when football team is probably not going to be real popular. But I think any sort of Mark Spoops being on the hot stage is absolutely ridiculous. I know we haven't met expectations last two years, but we didn't have those expectations until Mark Tukes got here, so we can go back to what it was before. 00:42:10 Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think that's ridiculous. 00:42:11 Speaker 5: There's a lot of people I think that that think that think like you do. 00:42:18 Speaker 14: Well, I'm pro Marx Toops and I'm also other than when they play Kentucky. I'm gonna be pro John Cala Perry. 00:42:32 Speaker 2: You need to You had me for a minute. You can't go that far. Come on, all right, well we'll take a break, we'll come back. Our number two. This is ks R.
