<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, it's Christmas. Very Christmas Holidays as well, folks.
<v Speaker 1>It's day two of Giant Bombs Game of the Year
<v Speaker 1>twenty twenty five deliberations. We're over here at main Gear
<v Speaker 1>shouts outs, We're homeies at main Gear for letting us
<v Speaker 1>use the space. It's great, it's festive. There's a Christmas
<v Speaker 1>tree outside. There's also a lot of snow. I still
<v Speaker 1>don't know what to do. That's why I've blocked all
<v Speaker 1>of my best friends in this room to podcast continuously
<v Speaker 1>until we have crowned a winner. And today we have
<v Speaker 1>a couple more categories for you folks at home. My
<v Speaker 1>name is Channa Choa. We have Chef Crub Turbo, Shawn
<v Speaker 1>Sean McDow, Chuck Towski, Dan Record is here, Jeff Backlar
<v Speaker 1>as well, Mike Manatti. We got Will Crosby running the
<v Speaker 1>ones and twos in the back. Thanks. Well, you've seen
<v Speaker 1>snow though before, right, Yes, I've seen snow before in person. Yeah. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>he didn't know about salt trucks, right, there's so much
<v Speaker 1>I did. I don't know about the Midwest Hamfest No, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I bought my tickets for next year's.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, guy it's a good time. Yeah, you showed to
<v Speaker 2>bring some some some pork knuckles.
<v Speaker 1>Oh so the first category of a two that's gambling,
<v Speaker 1>and this category is brought to you by click click Bomb.
<v Speaker 1>The nominees are the Flick Game in Yota, clover Pit,
<v Speaker 1>q Up, Unfair Flips, the Blueprints, slot machines, slots and daggers,
<v Speaker 1>and then Uma Musume. All right, this flick game, this
<v Speaker 1>is good stuff. It's cool. Have you showed it to me?
<v Speaker 1>And I loved it?
<v Speaker 3>Fun as hell and also in the like special edition,
<v Speaker 3>it gives you a bag of the actual coins, and
<v Speaker 3>so I took the coins home and played the actual
<v Speaker 3>game with Kayla over thanksgivting. So it's just like there's
<v Speaker 3>a certain amount of coins on the table, it's like
<v Speaker 3>eleven or something like that, and the point is to
<v Speaker 3>get six of them. And so it's one on one
<v Speaker 3>and it's like a big round table and there's a
<v Speaker 3>bunch of candles or you know, plates and just like
<v Speaker 3>obstacles basically. And so what you do is the first
<v Speaker 3>person picks a coin on the table and you want
<v Speaker 3>to flick it to where it hits one other coin.
<v Speaker 3>If it hits more than one it goes to the
<v Speaker 3>other person's turn. If you knock any off the table,
<v Speaker 3>they get those coins and it's their turn. So you know,
<v Speaker 3>you got to really it takes just a very deft flick.
<v Speaker 3>And the way they do it is with the you know,
<v Speaker 3>the analog triggers and stuff like that, so you can
<v Speaker 3>choose the amount you want to pull back on.
<v Speaker 1>I like the adaptive triggers. I think they're fun.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's it's super fun. It's unique and in the
<v Speaker 3>way that like I love open world games that have
<v Speaker 3>like their own like like Liar's Dice in Red Dead,
<v Speaker 3>where it's like, oh, this makes a lot of sense
<v Speaker 3>for this world, and I thought this was such a
<v Speaker 3>cool thing. Whenever you get to like a new town
<v Speaker 3>own or a new inn or something like that, or
<v Speaker 3>bar Arisaka house just like, Okay, well here's the guy
<v Speaker 3>here who's really cocky and I'm gonna take his money,
<v Speaker 3>and then he also has like a special charm that
<v Speaker 3>I can win, and you know, so there is actual
<v Speaker 3>stuff other than just you know, getting money for it.
<v Speaker 1>You wind up betting currency in the flip game.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so you've got two thousand and one. It might
<v Speaker 3>be like, oh, it's you know, five hundred for this
<v Speaker 3>round and they'll put the same end. So yeah, puer fun.
<v Speaker 1>I don't. I mean, I know that we've all played
<v Speaker 1>a lot of uma musume, right, yeah, and the most.
<v Speaker 1>I don't do the most, But I don't specifically remember
<v Speaker 1>there being a gigantic gambling component. I mean the horse. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but you're on the horse, so like no, no, no, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>you don't own the horse. You u ghost dog. You
<v Speaker 1>don't own a girl. You are a mentor for the horse. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Point is that there's there are people gambling on these races,
<v Speaker 2>but we're not them.
<v Speaker 1>Well, you know that's a gotcha game, right, Yes, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so there's gambling there, But like, is that you know,
<v Speaker 1>and that is gambling? Is that good gambling? Is that
<v Speaker 1>the kind of gambling we're excited about right now?
<v Speaker 4>I think that the gambling that click click bomb would
<v Speaker 4>want to bring to you the audience.
<v Speaker 1>These things has a reputation. Yeah, correct.
<v Speaker 5>Horse racing does not exist without gambling. It is only
<v Speaker 5>around and popular because of gambling. Just to have a
<v Speaker 5>bit of backstory, who's.
<v Speaker 1>Going to the track and not putting bets. There is
<v Speaker 1>no reason it exists other than gambling. But the it
<v Speaker 1>is just pure relationship and team building. You're really there for. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>of course nothing else. It is not sullied with with gambling.
<v Speaker 1>So I if we don't want to.
<v Speaker 4>Cut it yet there So there are like the obviously
<v Speaker 4>the card packs where you're pulling and you might get
<v Speaker 4>the horse garler looking for or whatever. And then there
<v Speaker 4>is the wheel use of right and that you but
<v Speaker 4>that's not I'm looking for, like a push your luck
<v Speaker 4>kind of the thing when we're talking about a gambling
<v Speaker 4>game that doesn't impress your luck, push you're pushing your luck.
<v Speaker 4>I pushed my luck?
<v Speaker 1>Will you push your luck? I pressed my luck like
<v Speaker 1>a Panini bars Let's go, dude, Ham guy's got bars.
<v Speaker 6>Lin.
<v Speaker 1>He's the headliner. Okay, I want to back. I was
<v Speaker 1>wearing thing dam what chance? But I never actually used
<v Speaker 1>the casino tile in Blue pas So, yeah I did.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't even remember there was one.
<v Speaker 6>It is, it's in there. And so the thing about
<v Speaker 6>there's a couple of things. So I think it's against
<v Speaker 6>this category in one because when you're gambling, the last
<v Speaker 6>thing you want is to lose and then be told
<v Speaker 6>you have to leave and maybe you can come back
<v Speaker 6>tomorrow you get the itch, you want to just keep
<v Speaker 6>gambling right away. And so it's like in a lot
<v Speaker 6>of ways, it's the antithesis of this category. But it
<v Speaker 6>does have one thing where if you get you can
<v Speaker 6>get a lever that you can like break off of
<v Speaker 6>something I can't remember where, but when you get the lever,
<v Speaker 6>you could take that and go put it on like
<v Speaker 6>there's a big special slot machine and you can kind
<v Speaker 6>of rig it up if you get the lever. So
<v Speaker 6>carrying that around all day, it's like, I can't wait
<v Speaker 6>to go gambling.
<v Speaker 1>I think that.
<v Speaker 6>I think the fact that you can't like do this
<v Speaker 6>every day, it's kind of hard to access. Most people
<v Speaker 6>won't see it. Probably not going to win this category.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, grub. I think that might be the
<v Speaker 1>best kind of gambling. Is that you're thinking about it
<v Speaker 1>all the time. Yeah, because they're teasing, keep them wanting more.
<v Speaker 1>You're selling me on it with that.
<v Speaker 2>Put that phone number on the screen during this category, yeah, problem.
<v Speaker 5>And whatever you think. Also, by the way, counts seven
<v Speaker 5>times whatever the time take away, I can get it.
<v Speaker 1>I say we bowled the blueprints one okay, sure?
<v Speaker 4>Those levers by the way, or what you use to
<v Speaker 4>to open some of the doors you need to get
<v Speaker 4>to the end of the game. So it's really funny
<v Speaker 4>if you decide use it there, because then you can't
<v Speaker 4>open those.
<v Speaker 3>Deal books and if we're doing that slot machine one.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know like clover Pit. I like a lot
<v Speaker 3>of things about it, but I really don't like the
<v Speaker 3>fact that, like there's so little.
<v Speaker 1>If any, that you can do to influence.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, actually because the other day just a slot machine
<v Speaker 3>and slot machine suck.
<v Speaker 1>Like Plato, you're.
<v Speaker 3>Playing poker, you are making decisions, you are like crafting
<v Speaker 3>a hand and stuff like.
<v Speaker 7>That's that's why I didn't like clover Pit is because
<v Speaker 7>Balato has sort of like the trading card game feel
<v Speaker 7>to it, where you have influence over the odds and
<v Speaker 7>that is the game. It's not just a game of chance.
<v Speaker 7>You are playing into the odds and you are actively
<v Speaker 7>affecting the odds, whereas a clover Pit, because it's still
<v Speaker 7>a slot machine. At the end of the day, you
<v Speaker 7>can't say, oh, there's x amount cards in the deck,
<v Speaker 7>and therefore I can come up with this strategy to
<v Speaker 7>play into those odds. Ultimately, you can change how many
<v Speaker 7>you know, like symbols the percentage chance of the symbols appearing,
<v Speaker 7>but you can't actually like get a strategy going there,
<v Speaker 7>and clothing is just random.
<v Speaker 3>When the least interesting part of the game is playing
<v Speaker 3>the game part, that's not a great sign. Yeah, like
<v Speaker 3>everything around clover Pit, I think the aesthetics are great.
<v Speaker 3>Some of the ideas for the charms and stuff are cool,
<v Speaker 3>but like it's it's a slot machine.
<v Speaker 7>At the end of the day, you are overall like
<v Speaker 7>playing into the percentage, but not necessarily moment to moment
<v Speaker 7>figuring out, okay, like how can I progress in a
<v Speaker 7>way that will benefit now? You know, I feel similarly
<v Speaker 7>about slots and daggers, and I think it's very telling.
<v Speaker 7>This is another slot machine game and you are kind
<v Speaker 7>of doing a slave the spire of getting a build going,
<v Speaker 7>whether it's melee spell focused, you're accumulating armor, but it
<v Speaker 7>the slot machine mechanic kind of gets in its own
<v Speaker 7>way because there's an option in the game to just
<v Speaker 7>speed everything up, where you kind of completely skip over
<v Speaker 7>the whole anticipation of getting your spin going. It's a
<v Speaker 7>really fun game, it's very short, but I just don't
<v Speaker 7>see the even a gambling aspect to it. Being too
<v Speaker 7>much sure where it's like a big part of the game. Okay,
<v Speaker 7>so we dan it sounds like after talking about the
<v Speaker 7>flip game, I think we should.
<v Speaker 6>And when he showed me in the quick look, that
<v Speaker 6>was one of the things that stuck out to me,
<v Speaker 6>like this looks like so much fun. I want to
<v Speaker 6>play this game just for this thing.
<v Speaker 1>Guys, I'm gonna say I think we should also bowld
<v Speaker 1>q up, not just because I'm big into the esports
<v Speaker 1>sports star all that counts seven times, that's true, I would.
<v Speaker 4>I want to point out in this list we had
<v Speaker 4>like half of these are parodies of gambling games, right
<v Speaker 4>like clover Pit, Unfair Flips, q up too, not slots
<v Speaker 4>and daggers so much. But they're sort of like critiquing
<v Speaker 4>these mechanics and games while also doing a really good
<v Speaker 4>job of implementing that well, you know.
<v Speaker 6>Work worth critiquing. So he's just being monitored.
<v Speaker 7>Well, Jan, I am curious though, because q up is
<v Speaker 7>all skill. You know, there's like there's no chance involved
<v Speaker 7>in that game. Are you sure that belongs in best Gambling?
<v Speaker 1>You describe what QUP is for everybody. So QUP is
<v Speaker 1>a competitive eastport where the team behind. It has formulated
<v Speaker 1>in such a way using quantum physics that it is
<v Speaker 1>a team of five v five where the first to
<v Speaker 1>three wins and the first to three is determined by
<v Speaker 1>flipping a coin. You see, and if the lines on
<v Speaker 1>the Q side, the Q team wins, the lens of
<v Speaker 1>the upside, the upside team wins. It's just it's just
<v Speaker 1>team based has or tails. Yep, what just what I mean?
<v Speaker 1>I think you should bolt it? He always downplaying, J.
<v Speaker 1>You can't leave k fape, So I want to talk
<v Speaker 1>a little more about this.
<v Speaker 4>Definitely uh parodying Yeah, games like this, and you're adding
<v Speaker 4>these like nonsense modifiers to your team and you're playing
<v Speaker 4>with like real other players, right J.
<v Speaker 1>That's the other aspect is that like you, I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if it's you were syncing with them live, but
<v Speaker 1>you were at least sinking with their profile and whatever
<v Speaker 1>character they're rolling with, and it actually kind of matters
<v Speaker 1>to your own success based off of how you were
<v Speaker 1>creating and leveling up your character.
<v Speaker 2>Like are you getting like bonuses like, oh, you're not
<v Speaker 2>going to you know, hit Q more times?
<v Speaker 1>No, because then that would be unfair.
<v Speaker 3>Mike, have such daggers out for jams.
<v Speaker 1>No, don't worry. Support Mike is gonna save me at
<v Speaker 1>the end of the post. It's a real will They won't.
<v Speaker 1>They made out in the bathroom early. That's right, that's right.
<v Speaker 1>But with like, yeah, you have these nonsensical abilities that
<v Speaker 1>play no part in affecting the game at all. It
<v Speaker 1>is mostly just to give yourself more currency or experience.
<v Speaker 1>I haven't checked out Unfair Flips as much, so I
<v Speaker 1>can't speak to it, but it is that's bullshit. That's
<v Speaker 1>not any sport all. I think it's about flipping a coin.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's bullshit, So I think we should just cut it. Okay,
<v Speaker 4>Can I talk about Unfair Flips a little bit. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>So this game is you're just flipping a coin over
<v Speaker 4>and that's over and over and uh, it's very stripped down.
<v Speaker 4>You're increasing the odds how many flips you can do
<v Speaker 4>a second. It's like it's that kind of game. It's
<v Speaker 4>so mindless. It really is like a it's a clicker's
<v Speaker 4>appeals to my sensibilities. But I think it's really fun.
<v Speaker 4>I wouldn't call it gambling. Actually, it has that where
<v Speaker 4>you like have your currency and your you can gamble it.
<v Speaker 4>But it's I don't know if it.
<v Speaker 6>It's a progression game, it's a it's a it's a
<v Speaker 6>I always view these games is like capitalism games. It's
<v Speaker 6>like like you get resources and then you use those
<v Speaker 6>resources to make it so you can get resources faster.
<v Speaker 1>That's the whole loop. Yeah, I am cutting unfair flips.
<v Speaker 1>I'm bowlding, q up. I have a I have a problem.
<v Speaker 1>What is your problem is gambling? I think we crossed
<v Speaker 1>out Cloverpit way too early.
<v Speaker 4>Oh okay, we've talked it through because yeah, because you
<v Speaker 4>you were making the case about oh, Blotto is different
<v Speaker 4>because it's almost like a trading card aspect, and you're
<v Speaker 4>collecting these jokers that but I'm thinking about Cloverpit and
<v Speaker 4>you've got this like cabinet of different choch keys and
<v Speaker 4>stuff that you get that might make activiation activations trigger more,
<v Speaker 4>or might make certain items show up or if they
<v Speaker 4>do in certain patterns, and you can like really lean
<v Speaker 4>into those different things in that game and like really
<v Speaker 4>strategize and like prioritize those things and go to the
<v Speaker 4>store and refresh until you get the things you're looking for.
<v Speaker 1>And in that way, I'm like, that's just blocked.
<v Speaker 3>So to that point, Chuck, so like, yes, you are right,
<v Speaker 3>and that the charms and Cloverpit are akin to like
<v Speaker 3>the jokers in Blactro, where it's like, I'm getting these
<v Speaker 3>passives that are existing in the background. They're gonna help
<v Speaker 3>me and I can help craft my odds and you
<v Speaker 3>know what shows up and percentages and all that stuff.
<v Speaker 3>The difference is when it comes to the actual game
<v Speaker 3>part of it. Cloverpit is there is nothing you can
<v Speaker 3>do other than.
<v Speaker 1>Pull, pull pull.
<v Speaker 3>Occasionally you can time that button, you know. But with Blatro,
<v Speaker 3>it's like between all the hands and everything, you are
<v Speaker 3>making more decisions. You are strategizing more. You're like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>I'm going to go for two pair here ooh, and
<v Speaker 3>if I played this one, I can get rid of
<v Speaker 3>this car and burn this one, and I'll put a
<v Speaker 3>token on this one because if this pops up. More like,
<v Speaker 3>there's just way more actual strategy you're doing. Yes, you're
<v Speaker 3>just getting random cards dealt to you, but you are
<v Speaker 3>making decisions.
<v Speaker 1>Whereas a clever Pit it's pull pull pull.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, there's more picking at the idea that there isn't
<v Speaker 4>strategy and clover Pit, which is not true.
<v Speaker 1>But if it was just like the Jokers.
<v Speaker 7>Basically, the thing is in clover Pit, a run can
<v Speaker 7>die because you did absolutely nothing wrong.
<v Speaker 1>Gambling, zach Lar said.
<v Speaker 7>It is, and you know, like if we want to
<v Speaker 7>bring it back into contention after everything we discussed, that's cool.
<v Speaker 7>I just don't think it's fun gambling because it kind
<v Speaker 7>of is at the end of the day ultimately kind
<v Speaker 7>of just pulling that lever and seeing what happens, which
<v Speaker 7>I get is gambling. That's what a slot machine is.
<v Speaker 7>But I also think that's why slot machines are the
<v Speaker 7>most boring form of gambling. If I go to a casino,
<v Speaker 7>I'm playing poker, I'm playing black jets and complaining these
<v Speaker 7>things that I have more control over it because I
<v Speaker 7>can play into the ods more as a poe to
<v Speaker 7>just well, let's see what happens. So, I personally don't
<v Speaker 7>like clover Pit that much and I don't think it's
<v Speaker 7>best gambling.
<v Speaker 4>I I'm defending it as part of this list. I
<v Speaker 4>don't actually like this game did a really good job
<v Speaker 4>at like the slot machine prison fuckery that it's doing.
<v Speaker 1>Was trying to do. Well. I'll give it that. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it doesn't. It doesn't rise to the occasion.
<v Speaker 5>For someone does have to do like a craps one
<v Speaker 5>of these, like a.
<v Speaker 1>It's going to blow up is dice bingo? Yeah, game
<v Speaker 1>like buff on bingo. Yeah. I think because I like
<v Speaker 1>my friend Jan, thank you, Mike and Mike, you hate gambling,
<v Speaker 1>especially with friends.
<v Speaker 2>Kind of I like gambling. I have to keep myself
<v Speaker 2>from it. I think I have an addictive personality. Would
<v Speaker 2>be a big problem.
<v Speaker 1>I kind of like what Grub was saying about the
<v Speaker 1>Blueprints lot machine and then the general gamble of playing Blueprints.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, yeah, yeah, like that is like one of the
<v Speaker 6>things about like carrying that lever around is maybe you
<v Speaker 6>find a room where you could use it. I was
<v Speaker 6>trying to get in the casino. Use it there, and
<v Speaker 6>like if you use it, then you do find the casino.
<v Speaker 6>It's like you lost before you got there.
<v Speaker 1>It's a good game. Whether or not it's worth it
<v Speaker 1>to use your precious resources of steps and coins actually
<v Speaker 1>so much.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, I guess it depends on if we're talking about
<v Speaker 7>best gamblings and the gambling itself or best gamblers and
<v Speaker 7>like the experience you have around it. Because I think
<v Speaker 7>q up is very funny what they did there, with
<v Speaker 7>the concepts, but Blueprints sounds like it's a much more
<v Speaker 7>interesting implementation into a greater game.
<v Speaker 1>I will say, there's more that you were doing in
<v Speaker 1>Blueprints versus q up. The esports scene actually is not
<v Speaker 1>popping off as much. That's where no money in the
<v Speaker 1>esports I hear, So, yeah, that's what it is. Are
<v Speaker 1>we okay with that? Yeah? Yeah, all right, Blueprint? There
<v Speaker 1>you go. You were so ready to cut. I was like, here,
<v Speaker 1>let's get rid of this. But there, all right, all right,
<v Speaker 1>best gamble. He goes to blueprint slot machines with q
<v Speaker 1>up and the Flick Game and Yota as the runners up.
<v Speaker 1>That category is brought to you by click Clickbomb. Steve.
<v Speaker 4>I just want to thank you guys for allowing us
<v Speaker 4>to sponsor this round.
<v Speaker 1>A long time.
<v Speaker 2>Thanks for the mine, dude, Yeah, you would balk at
<v Speaker 2>those k right, so you went for it.
<v Speaker 1>The male motherfuckers. Actually it isn't. I think we need
<v Speaker 1>to talk about that. That's where we're gonna have a
<v Speaker 1>booth at next summer game fest. Hey, Chuck, can you
<v Speaker 1>make a booth bomb? I'll just program we should actually
<v Speaker 1>just set up a laptop outside the parking yea, all right.
<v Speaker 1>Next category is best Ninja. This is gonna be rough, y'all.
<v Speaker 1>We have Joe Musashi from Shanobi, Kenji from Ninja Guide,
<v Speaker 1>and Rage Bound You from Ninja Guid in flour now
<v Speaker 1>a Assassin's Creek, Shadows, Mega gri Ninja from Pokemon Legends
<v Speaker 1>as Ghost of Yota, the Ninjago Map. Yeah, like Party,
<v Speaker 1>the Turtles in t m n T Tactical Takedown, Daredevil,
<v Speaker 1>Marvel Rivals, Ninja mart World, the Insane Clown. But wait,
<v Speaker 1>I think that I remember what you guys told me.
<v Speaker 1>What that We're just gonna delete that? Delete it? So disappointed?
<v Speaker 1>I forgot about pizza.
<v Speaker 3>Wait, wasn't there like you don't players for you for
<v Speaker 3>the first like numerous hours of Ninja Get four? Who's
<v Speaker 3>the Ninja Gaho players before?
<v Speaker 1>We don't like him as much?
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, I'm gonna tells some one out there tm n
<v Speaker 7>T go go.
<v Speaker 1>Here's the thing, y'all know me. I love Tiles. This
<v Speaker 1>was not a good tactics game this year. Year.
<v Speaker 6>I just enjoy seeing the turtles, but this, this was
<v Speaker 6>not it. Yeah, and I agree with Sean. I don't
<v Speaker 6>think we have to have a strict no Goku role
<v Speaker 6>but here it makes He's right.
<v Speaker 7>It almost feels unfair because, yeah, the turtles fucking rule.
<v Speaker 7>But it's like, compared to these video game characters don't.
<v Speaker 1>Going along with other stuff that I really like. This year,
<v Speaker 1>I thought Daredevil h was really cool. His implementation in
<v Speaker 1>the game is actually fun because they obscure your vision,
<v Speaker 1>much like the comic book character. Oh but not the
<v Speaker 1>most super Ninja compared to everyone else.
<v Speaker 2>Right, you find him a bit more in that game.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, all right, I don't think Ninja has a soul.
<v Speaker 6>No, he thinks it's like basically only Mario and Sonic souls.
<v Speaker 1>In every Koopa, every blooper.
<v Speaker 2>I don't like these like generic enemies as characters that
<v Speaker 2>you don't get costumes from.
<v Speaker 1>That's all I love you. You don't like the Ninjas
<v Speaker 1>are great? I like Ninjas has an enemy and Marto
<v Speaker 1>games Ninja is under appreciated that Mario lineage. It's great
<v Speaker 1>that there. I wanted to say my piece about their souls.
<v Speaker 1>Now the category is best Ninja, Yes, and I like
<v Speaker 1>Lego Party a lot. Are there Ninjagos on?
<v Speaker 2>I guess this is also a little bit of a
<v Speaker 2>Surprisingly enough, a map does have a soul.
<v Speaker 7>Are the Ninjas on a Ninjago map, like, you know,
<v Speaker 7>totally interesting?
<v Speaker 1>Are we? Okay?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I'm sure fine, it's fine. I still don't like
<v Speaker 2>Mega evolutions. I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>Dog, Okay, this one's really cool because he's holding a
<v Speaker 4>giant shirt can Will.
<v Speaker 7>Crosby, can you please pull up a picture of Mega
<v Speaker 7>Ninja for me?
<v Speaker 1>Please? New Mega g Ninja coming out soon? Right, this
<v Speaker 1>is right?
<v Speaker 7>No, there's a new Mega Lukari down't going out on
<v Speaker 7>the first one, the first one, the first one?
<v Speaker 1>Please? Well?
<v Speaker 7>Now see look you see how they took her Ninja,
<v Speaker 7>the coolest Pokemon, and they turned.
<v Speaker 1>Him upside It's just great. Now hang on, but he's
<v Speaker 1>upside down on a giant sur Can. I'm gonna search
<v Speaker 1>Blue Sky for you. Don't do that, Dan, are you
<v Speaker 1>punking me? What that is? He's just turned upside down? Okay? Also,
<v Speaker 1>they changed his design. We're going to keep it for now.
<v Speaker 1>I think the lock is Joe. I don't know how
<v Speaker 1>Joe doesn't win. Yeah, there he is? Yeah? Yeah, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>I mean we thought was a walk. Yes, what happened
<v Speaker 1>two days ago?
<v Speaker 2>Joe is Joe has always been a cool ninja and
<v Speaker 2>this is his best design yet. The white and the
<v Speaker 2>red looks so great and definitely only grunts back at people.
<v Speaker 2>The animation and the design just so freaking runs.
<v Speaker 6>They like, ask him questions that require a sentence respond
<v Speaker 6>and everyone's like, you're right, Just what they wanted.
<v Speaker 3>Way better than Rage found Ninja.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, in terms of the character, I like. I like
<v Speaker 1>Joe massa game a lot. I do like Kenji as well. Yes, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>are we going to keep Kenji? I think we. I
<v Speaker 1>think for now, let's let's make it. Yes, yeah, you
<v Speaker 1>guys are cutting for you right, yes.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, he's had his time. I mean, his his
<v Speaker 2>return is as exciting as Joe's. It's it's for you again.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah right, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Now it was pretty cool. Now, it was very cool.
<v Speaker 1>I definitely liked her a little. She was a little
<v Speaker 1>bit more of a stronger character for me when I
<v Speaker 1>was playing playing through Assassins. Definitely shadows. Also, you know,
<v Speaker 1>a very important part of Assassin's creed is the verticality
<v Speaker 1>and as yaske because he was a big bulky character,
<v Speaker 1>they took away his ability to climb. So uh, but
<v Speaker 1>then I don't know if I want to reward that
<v Speaker 1>to now way, because you're just stripping mechanics from other characters. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I get why they're why they made that choice.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know if that necessarily is a positive for
<v Speaker 6>Noway as much as it's a negative for what's his
<v Speaker 6>name now is a full ninja.
<v Speaker 1>That's the thing.
<v Speaker 3>I don't really know what is the determining factor. A
<v Speaker 3>little stealthy Oh yeah.
<v Speaker 1>You're climbing around roofs, you're throwing kunai, you're yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I think she's okay, okay yeh, because well, because in
<v Speaker 2>the last game, you're straight up a samurai. Even though
<v Speaker 2>you could do that stealthy stuff, you were a samurai.
<v Speaker 2>That's why I asked you, right, So I guess I'm
<v Speaker 2>just like, it's not like a stealth leaning samurai.
<v Speaker 3>They don't say ninja or samurai in the game. I
<v Speaker 3>don't really know what the deciding factor is, right, she's
<v Speaker 3>sneaking around throwing.
<v Speaker 7>Well, is that an option or is like are you
<v Speaker 7>also doing sword play or.
<v Speaker 3>You're doing oh, you're absolutely getting like katana battles and
<v Speaker 3>stuff like that a lot.
<v Speaker 1>That's not a ninja though, Okay, And why are you
<v Speaker 1>putting that so Ina Box?
<v Speaker 6>I mean I actually it was like that was the
<v Speaker 6>whole thing with the first one, right, where like you
<v Speaker 6>could be a ninja ors right.
<v Speaker 7>Well, I think when I look at them, I'm like
<v Speaker 7>more clearly, oh, like they're a ninja character. Is just
<v Speaker 7>the genre. We have the fact that you can use
<v Speaker 7>multiple weapons. If you can, if that's one of the
<v Speaker 7>styles for then yeah, I think that can belong all.
<v Speaker 1>Right, What's what's pizza chef's whole deal? He's a pizza,
<v Speaker 1>pizza and a ninja. Yeah, you go down, you think
<v Speaker 1>he's like an older guy.
<v Speaker 3>You wouldn't think he's even a guy that fights or anything.
<v Speaker 3>And you deliver some crap to him at his little
<v Speaker 3>like a pizza cave and he's like, hey, you want
<v Speaker 3>to come in the in the kitchen, and you go
<v Speaker 3>in there and he starts like doing all this. The
<v Speaker 3>pizza dough is his like his technique, Yeah, pizza dough.
<v Speaker 3>And he's just like hitting you with the oven doors
<v Speaker 3>and throwing dough at you. And then like if you
<v Speaker 3>he gets impressed at your prowess in battle, and he
<v Speaker 3>decides to start teaching you the ways of pizza dough.
<v Speaker 3>And as you deliver more things to him and your
<v Speaker 3>star ranking goes up, and just learn like you're learning
<v Speaker 3>like by some psycho crushers and stuff, and like Pizza
<v Speaker 3>Do is flying off.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's that's fun. I like it.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like this could literally be from like a
<v Speaker 2>Deadpool movie and then you would hate it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, as long as you agree, again, that's great.
<v Speaker 4>The real problem I think with his character in this
<v Speaker 4>category is he's not a ninja.
<v Speaker 1>He is a martial artist. Sure, sure, sure, okay, okay,
<v Speaker 1>who are you to say what Pizza Do is? You're right,
<v Speaker 1>You're right. What if Pizza Do Dan crossed out pizza
<v Speaker 1>chef from Death Training? Wow, that's rough losing to people
<v Speaker 1>without souls. We'll speak about no souls. I think.
<v Speaker 6>I think it's uh Atsu Mega Green Ninja and Joe Musashi.
<v Speaker 1>Seems a lot more interesting than now A. Yeah, I didn't.
<v Speaker 7>I'm going to played the most shadows of all of us,
<v Speaker 7>and I played like five Yeah, I got like fifteen
<v Speaker 7>ish and and I just didn't think.
<v Speaker 1>Now he was.
<v Speaker 7>Super interesting, not superstellar, like some interesting moments, but the
<v Speaker 7>character herself, I'm like.
<v Speaker 1>Eah, you know what motivation is? It? Also revenge? Yep?
<v Speaker 1>Any case for Kenji from Ninja guided raging.
<v Speaker 6>So I thought, for a character that's not real, Hyabasa Yabusa,
<v Speaker 6>I was like, I'm surprisingly tolerant of them.
<v Speaker 1>I don't have that. It's enough to get on this list.
<v Speaker 1>I've always thought Joe Musashi is so funny, cool. He's
<v Speaker 1>always been cool. This is the coolest he's ever been. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I think being part of like the Best Ninja is
<v Speaker 1>just like a swag factor and Joe Musashi's just got
<v Speaker 1>in spades. It also sounds like the best ninja game.
<v Speaker 8>This Yeah, and playing it feels like a cool Yeah,
<v Speaker 8>rides a wolf dog and I was cool, he's a
<v Speaker 8>lot right, He's like, I love.
<v Speaker 1>That all right. So we have our winner for best
<v Speaker 1>Ninja That is Joe Musashi from Shnobi, with the runners
<v Speaker 1>up Mega Gri Ninja and Atsu Ghost of Yote Gang.
<v Speaker 1>Our next category is the best z teamer from Dispatch.
<v Speaker 1>We have sonar Upe, Punch Up, Plombey, Prism, Malevola Gollum
<v Speaker 1>and Visigal water Boy Phenomena Phenomenon Phenomenal man okay okay,
<v Speaker 1>I nominate that we cut in visig out.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, because she's not the best she like, yeah, anything
<v Speaker 6>any warm feelings I have towards in Visigo is not
<v Speaker 6>about her contributions to the team. She like messes up
<v Speaker 6>the team. She makes choices on her own that like, yeah,
<v Speaker 6>I agree.
<v Speaker 1>Even though she is the cause for one of the
<v Speaker 1>best moments in that game. I think she's great. Yeah yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but it is category best Z Team teammate. It doesn't
<v Speaker 1>have to be, but it's a big market that it's
<v Speaker 1>one of the things we're considering. Okay's the factory because
<v Speaker 1>I mean team asspect.
<v Speaker 7>Because I mean, I almost feel like that's unfair to
<v Speaker 7>the character. Her point is that she sucks for most
<v Speaker 7>of the game, and but she's a great character, you
<v Speaker 7>know what I mean.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yes, but I don't think that.
<v Speaker 6>Yes, I get what you're saying, but I do want
<v Speaker 6>to see like someone be like they encompass what the
<v Speaker 6>Z Team is to be the winner of this category.
<v Speaker 1>We don't have to cut her necessarily, but I think
<v Speaker 1>so hmm, so many interesting things here.
<v Speaker 2>Punch Up like was doing very little for me, seemed
<v Speaker 2>like such a background character. Then there was that scene
<v Speaker 2>where you just punched a bunch of people in the
<v Speaker 2>dick and that was very.
<v Speaker 6>One of the best lines of the year. And then
<v Speaker 6>and it comes back and they pay that off again.
<v Speaker 1>Like he's like, my beautiful dick. Now did you all
<v Speaker 1>get the dialogue that flambay Uh is just openly and
<v Speaker 1>aggressively gay. Yeah, yeah, well if I did, I didn't
<v Speaker 1>come across that. And then it's like, oh, you just
<v Speaker 1>want to bang robber. Yeah that makes sense. He still was.
<v Speaker 2>I like him as a character, but he's still pretty
<v Speaker 2>rough and it's a joking unlikable in a lot of ways.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, he's got he's very funny. Yes, he's a
<v Speaker 6>karaoke scene of the best songs of the year. I
<v Speaker 6>see sings a lot like some people I know, but
<v Speaker 6>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>The voice actors first, like game they've done really yea.
<v Speaker 2>Very useful like for dispatching too, because of the flying
<v Speaker 2>he doesuff so fast. Yeah, and mobility is such an
<v Speaker 2>important stat for a lot of stuff.
<v Speaker 1>I like Sonar.
<v Speaker 2>I was getting the impression earlier. Some people didn't know.
<v Speaker 2>I never said I I like Sonar a lot, and
<v Speaker 2>I just cut him because I like how he sucks.
<v Speaker 2>I think he was actually in last place, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>it's only fair.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's true. I think that's what I'm like I'm.
<v Speaker 2>A friendly fair Yeah, his character sign is so cool, right,
<v Speaker 2>Like I don't know something about the Harvard graduate batman
<v Speaker 2>who like his cars are all like mostly financial ones,
<v Speaker 2>so like you like that, but it's like he's a
<v Speaker 2>crypto bro and I don't like that.
<v Speaker 1>God, it's just like a really interesting characters.
<v Speaker 2>That's why Kimley, I gotta see what this bat freak does.
<v Speaker 6>Even when you do kick him off, he becomes he's
<v Speaker 6>still very.
<v Speaker 1>Still one of the better characters. Yeah, he was my
<v Speaker 1>most used z teamer when I sent out because when
<v Speaker 1>he transforms after he heads back to home base is
<v Speaker 1>stat's completely changed, so then he becomes someone that's very
<v Speaker 1>offensive based, So he was useful in that aspect as well.
<v Speaker 4>Well.
<v Speaker 7>I on that point, though, I will say my most
<v Speaker 7>use was Golam because he gets an ability spread thin
<v Speaker 7>where he can be sent out as a one man team,
<v Speaker 7>the best ability in the game, and he's a bro.
<v Speaker 7>Like within the story, you know, he's kind of an
<v Speaker 7>asshole Robert in the beginning, but then he like actively
<v Speaker 7>defends Robert at that moment.
<v Speaker 1>Stuff. Like, he's kind of just a cool character. He's
<v Speaker 1>not one who like the first like maybe half of
<v Speaker 1>the game, like he's not doing much, and then I
<v Speaker 1>really liked him by the end. Yeah, I'll I'll bold go. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I agree. I know you're supposed to have sympathy and
<v Speaker 1>really like water boy, I don't if you're supposed to
<v Speaker 1>like him. I love him. I love him. He's my
<v Speaker 1>little doufis. Yeah, but then like the idea that someone
<v Speaker 1>is throwing up on my keyboard to clean it, I will.
<v Speaker 2>Say, I thought it was unrealistic that he was even
<v Speaker 2>offered to be in the team.
<v Speaker 1>Honestly, I'm gonna cut him, Okay, only if we cut
<v Speaker 1>Phenomenon is so fun? I agree, But pressed phenomenon so
<v Speaker 1>fun it is? I liked well. Also, like he's not
<v Speaker 1>introduced from the very beginning and everything.
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't feel quite a Z team, but by the
<v Speaker 2>end he does, and I like how they kind of
<v Speaker 2>accept him. Yeah, gosh, she's a good character. Maybe a
<v Speaker 2>Z team ness isn't the most important part.
<v Speaker 4>Could we could we cut Coop because and I really
<v Speaker 4>liked Coop. I had her on the team used all
<v Speaker 4>the time, she's so in the background, doesn't do it,
<v Speaker 4>doesn't make a lot of jokes are like contribute a
<v Speaker 4>lot and dialogues the way the other characters.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's one reason why Condor is like, well, she
<v Speaker 2>just doesn't seem like too much of a character yet,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm sure missing out on something. Yeah, I guess
<v Speaker 2>that's my question for people who kept her, Like, did
<v Speaker 2>she have like nice character moments?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I would send her and punch Up out together
<v Speaker 6>all the time, and they became like one of those dynamics.
<v Speaker 1>Did you know that? Yeah, I think I think I forget.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, that's baked in, just like how so Gnar
<v Speaker 2>and the level of right, Like their relationship became a
<v Speaker 2>lot of fun.
<v Speaker 1>So I had a great time.
<v Speaker 6>But like we can cut her, Yeah she I would
<v Speaker 6>be unpunched like Puntah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I do like punch Up to PRIs prison didn't
<v Speaker 2>have too many stand up moments as.
<v Speaker 1>She's got like some of the best line she blinded
<v Speaker 1>from that. She also has one of the best songs
<v Speaker 1>in the game, and the name of the song is
<v Speaker 1>these Hoes Depressed And you know what.
<v Speaker 7>Different also second best of a building in the game
<v Speaker 7>because she copies.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, very and you know I like her in the
<v Speaker 6>break room with Malevola and then be like I didn't
<v Speaker 6>have a dad or something like that, or like that
<v Speaker 6>whole conversation was really witty and good.
<v Speaker 1>But that's supposed to mean you told me speaking of
<v Speaker 1>can we bowled my level the rules because we haven't
<v Speaker 1>talked about her at all, I assume because we realized that.
<v Speaker 2>That's when I like that there's almost not too much
<v Speaker 2>green time for her, Like, I like that she's not
<v Speaker 2>like a third romance option or something, and I kind
<v Speaker 2>of serious is and the hints of it were like
<v Speaker 2>when you know, at one point where like somebody might die,
<v Speaker 2>she's like, uh, they'll be okay, Like, well, how do
<v Speaker 2>you know?
<v Speaker 1>What are you? Also, she's one of the only ways
<v Speaker 1>to heal your team. Yeah, but she's the same outfit
<v Speaker 1>that Cindy Crawford was wearing in that one commercial.
<v Speaker 8>Yeah, she's a red devil girl.
<v Speaker 1>It's better. Yeah, kind of like what was that Brendan
<v Speaker 1>Fraser movie. But that's a good movie, the Dazzle Button.
<v Speaker 1>Compared to the two that we've already bowlded, I think
<v Speaker 1>I would be okay cutting Sonar at that point.
<v Speaker 2>I think I would like to cut fom Bay two.
<v Speaker 2>At this point, he hangs, uh, maybe we can cut Yeah, yeah, I.
<v Speaker 1>Like in visig Out more off of the interpersonal one
<v Speaker 1>on one relationship versus like right in the team.
<v Speaker 2>I like her as the kind of secondary protagonist in
<v Speaker 2>the game for sure.
<v Speaker 4>But you guys noticed in this game that sexual harassment's
<v Speaker 4>funny because it's happening to Robert.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, it's I don't like this game a lot.
<v Speaker 2>I think it was the beginning of episode two where
<v Speaker 2>like I met three kars in a row who like
<v Speaker 2>talked about my dick or something, and I was getting
<v Speaker 2>a little bit like, this is a bracelet.
<v Speaker 1>This is all becoming too much.
<v Speaker 6>It was like I think for me, it's like that's
<v Speaker 6>when I established like this is almost like a sports
<v Speaker 6>team locker room and reality. Yeah, and they're trying to
<v Speaker 6>establish that.
<v Speaker 7>But you're right, it's very aggressive, like some people were
<v Speaker 7>talking about online though, like it's it's not supposed to
<v Speaker 7>be an endorsement necessarily as much as like, yeah, this
<v Speaker 7>person is doing something that sucks, you know, like you're
<v Speaker 7>you're kind of supposed to view it as, hey, this sucks,
<v Speaker 7>Maybe don't do that.
<v Speaker 2>It is perhaps punch Up's ability to punch people in
<v Speaker 2>the dick a bit one dimensional.
<v Speaker 1>And then the dimension is penises. But I really, I
<v Speaker 1>really like Jack sept the guy's accent. I think it's
<v Speaker 1>fun to I think, yeah, I like him a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Punching in the dick. It's the best thing in the game.
<v Speaker 4>Is he the least problematic teammate? He's always just like
<v Speaker 4>Kay for me.
<v Speaker 1>He wound up also being the most charismatic. He's he
<v Speaker 1>was my most huged.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, he harassed me in my workplace. He put pop
<v Speaker 2>up porn on my computer because he was friends with
<v Speaker 2>a coop one.
<v Speaker 1>I wait, really cool out? Yeah yeah, embarrassed and harassed me.
<v Speaker 1>Do you know what happens when you cut sonar assume
<v Speaker 1>a level they had.
<v Speaker 4>Your computer, so it just like makes his sonar screaming
<v Speaker 4>noise come out of it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Interesting.
<v Speaker 2>Ours was hacked to have porn pop ups and they
<v Speaker 2>were very visceral.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, so wait, we're cut. If we cut punch up,
<v Speaker 1>then we're keeping Prism.
<v Speaker 6>I'm okay with that, I think so yeah, Yeah, I
<v Speaker 6>think I like Prism a tone.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, same, all right? Gang. The final three here for
<v Speaker 1>best Z teamer is Prism, Malevola, and gol Of. I
<v Speaker 1>lean towards Golam I interesting I leaned towards I like
<v Speaker 1>Malevlo's power, So like the combination of the portals with
<v Speaker 1>just giant sword, I think that's an interesting Yeah, heating
<v Speaker 1>the two whiskey glasses.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, oh yeah, when the bar fight scene happens and
<v Speaker 7>like someone gets tossed through Malevla's portal and he just
<v Speaker 7>like looks up from us and smiles, his rock dude smiles.
<v Speaker 1>That's such a good moment.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, my favorite is Prism the bunch, but Golam GOLs
<v Speaker 7>right up there too.
<v Speaker 2>Only one of these characters did we give the voice
<v Speaker 2>actor a giant sandwich? That's which one's a.
<v Speaker 1>She kills it in this game. Yeah. With Golam, though,
<v Speaker 1>I feel like you go through an actual well now
<v Speaker 1>you go through that journey with all of them of
<v Speaker 1>like them fucking hating Robert, but I feel like with
<v Speaker 1>Golam and Malevola, you wind up being closer to them
<v Speaker 1>at least. Maybe that's how.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's not a lot of there's not a lot
<v Speaker 2>of prison Robert time.
<v Speaker 1>Huh. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, Golan is a very loyal character and it doesn't
<v Speaker 4>show up early on. Yeah, and that's what's great about
<v Speaker 4>Like he and he already is very loyal to some
<v Speaker 4>of the characters, and like you cutting a character for example,
<v Speaker 4>is what makes him not like you more than like
<v Speaker 4>you're the new guy, I think. And then there's like
<v Speaker 4>a big turning point in this game right where Robert
<v Speaker 4>reveals who he is and stuff, and Golim's the one
<v Speaker 4>that's like got You're back immediately and then to the
<v Speaker 4>rest of the game locked in, and I think he's.
<v Speaker 1>I also felt comfortable hitting him with a chair because
<v Speaker 1>like he'd be okay with it. That's that's kind of.
<v Speaker 7>A good moment early on. If you put him in
<v Speaker 7>time out, he's like, oh, you're talking down to me.
<v Speaker 7>That kind of sucks. But the him with the cherry
<v Speaker 7>is like, oh, okay, you can kind of hang with us.
<v Speaker 7>I respect that I put.
<v Speaker 1>Him in time out. I didn't know, you know, I
<v Speaker 1>guess I feel chair in him and he was cool.
<v Speaker 1>It was like get the fuck out.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, if you heilme with the cherry is kind of
<v Speaker 7>like like I deserve that or something like that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Yeah. And also Sean, just readering your point, he
<v Speaker 1>became a one man army.
<v Speaker 2>For Yeah, definitely a better dispatch character than Yeah, prison,
<v Speaker 2>you can hang there a little bit, but gosh, basically,
<v Speaker 2>any mission towards the end that's a forest laughter. You
<v Speaker 2>just send them on.
<v Speaker 7>And his his alternate ability is interesting as well. The
<v Speaker 7>fact that you can reroll his stats every time you
<v Speaker 7>go to dispatch.
<v Speaker 1>That's cool. I also like that his uh I forget
<v Speaker 1>what they're called in the game, but it's not necessarily synergy.
<v Speaker 1>But the character he works with the best is in Visigal,
<v Speaker 1>and I just thought that was an interesting wrinkle in
<v Speaker 1>their relationship where it's like he's a gigantic clay Man
<v Speaker 1>and in Visigal. Okay, YouTube fuck with each other, all right?
<v Speaker 1>Uh winner for Best Z Teamer is Golam, runners up
<v Speaker 1>Prism and Malevola. They're a lucky Royd wasn't a Z
<v Speaker 1>teamer so true? Oh my god. Yeah, I just had
<v Speaker 1>to double check Roy's name. I will kill for Roy. Yep.
<v Speaker 1>He could have been in one of the best New CAU.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think he would have won Best New Character,
<v Speaker 1>but he could have been. Is he supposed to have
<v Speaker 1>powers or was he just like I think? I think
<v Speaker 1>he's just smowing like yeah, and which is the power
<v Speaker 1>of its own?
<v Speaker 6>That's true, true, He's a genius. Yes, yeah, he's a
<v Speaker 6>super genius. And well he's engineering and science.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 7>The point of a lot of people who were there
<v Speaker 7>is that they don't have power, so they help out
<v Speaker 7>the heroes.
<v Speaker 1>Right. Yes, Roy was just a complete broka. Explain how
<v Speaker 1>he doesn't wash his hand. He's like, no, I just
<v Speaker 1>take my pants, don't do anything. All right, folks, We're
<v Speaker 1>gonna take a quick bricky break and we will be
<v Speaker 1>back with the rest of the categories. We're just gonna
<v Speaker 1>go build a gingerbread house real quick, by real quick.
<v Speaker 1>I thought it's time to start the show. Are you
<v Speaker 1>ready to go? Uh? Dude, Yeah, dude, I'm ready. No, crump,
<v Speaker 1>you look like you are in a den of iniquity
<v Speaker 1>right now. I don't know what that means, and I
<v Speaker 1>don't know what you want. It's not like I have
<v Speaker 1>a home studio, jan Yes you do. The computers that
<v Speaker 1>main Gear built for us have Nvidia g Force RTX
<v Speaker 1>chipoos in them, and with the Nvidia Studio drivers and
<v Speaker 1>in video broadcast, you can turn even your man cave
<v Speaker 1>into a professional studio. Using broadcasts. You can upgrade your webcams, microphones,
<v Speaker 1>and speakers using the power of machine learning to take
<v Speaker 1>our shows, voice chats, and video conferences to the next level.
<v Speaker 1>You can use audio effects like noise removal. Oh yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I guess I have a fan on. Well, it's hot.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not going to turn that off. Let me just
<v Speaker 1>hit this right here? Is that any better? Jan? Much better?
<v Speaker 1>We can clean up your shot with auto frame and
<v Speaker 1>video noise removal and Grub and even make it look
<v Speaker 1>like you were paying attention using the eye contact tool
<v Speaker 1>so I could still watch my stories. Yes, yes you can.
<v Speaker 1>Nvidia Broadcast is a universal plugin that works with most
<v Speaker 1>live streaming, voice chat, and video conferencing apps. It's supported
<v Speaker 1>on any Nvidio, g Force ArtX GPU, and since I'm
<v Speaker 1>using the Nvidia Studio drivers, I'll get stable, optimized performance
<v Speaker 1>in Adobe Photoshop, DA Vinci resolved in all the other
<v Speaker 1>apps that I need to use to fix our mistakes
<v Speaker 1>in post. You know what.
<v Speaker 6>Thank you to ban Gear and in Nvidia for supplying.
<v Speaker 6>Are in Vidia Studio PCs in Video Broadcast, your AI
<v Speaker 6>powered home studio and video studio.
<v Speaker 1>The software advantage for all creators. Jan, I'm not even
<v Speaker 1>looking at the camera at all right now, Grub, stop
<v Speaker 1>stop looking at me. I haven't looked at you forever,
<v Speaker 1>and we're back. We broke the Gingerbread house. Sorry, but
<v Speaker 1>shout out to our friends here at main Gear for
<v Speaker 1>letting us into their place and podcasting for a couple
<v Speaker 1>of days. Sorry that we had to spend Christmas here together, guys,
<v Speaker 1>but uh, you know we're we're doing we're doing good
<v Speaker 1>work out here.
<v Speaker 4>What's do you get the clip clop of hoofs on
<v Speaker 4>the roofs?
<v Speaker 1>Is that? When is the Santa supposed to come to
<v Speaker 1>your house? Lady twenty fourth? Okay, all right, okay, uh
<v Speaker 1>you know what what is a good about teamwork? We
<v Speaker 1>were just wrapped ast Z teamer. It's all the Reindeers
<v Speaker 1>working together and I feel like they're kind of playing
<v Speaker 1>a game, just like the next category best multiplayer game.
<v Speaker 1>We have Margot Kart world Saunic Gracing, Cross Worlds, Jackbox eleven,
<v Speaker 1>Lego Party Peak, Split Fiction, Night Rain, Absolum Arc Raiders, Abysiness,
<v Speaker 1>Battlefield six, Dragon Drive Legends Z. That was a game
<v Speaker 1>this year? Should we just cut Dragon.
<v Speaker 6>Think, ma, you can't party up with your friends and
<v Speaker 6>one of the worst multiplayer experience it's actually bad. Multiple
<v Speaker 6>taking the piss with this one being in this last I.
<v Speaker 1>Have fun playing that game, but that's Nintendo standards. Even
<v Speaker 1>it's real, it could have been so interesting figure it
<v Speaker 1>out late edition. But Danke talking.
<v Speaker 3>Business was fun when we did that stream. Uh, there's
<v Speaker 3>just a lot better games on here, and there's a
<v Speaker 3>lot of games like that. And what did Randy Pittchford
<v Speaker 3>say about a business?
<v Speaker 7>It's like it's like myth but twice is meths.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Uh, what's it Callederlandes? Yeah? No, I have a
<v Speaker 1>better category for that one later. I'm gonna say Lego
<v Speaker 1>parties at instant Yeah. I've enjoyed it like crazy. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think either Kurt Racer is going to make it No.
<v Speaker 3>I think I really do like Mario Kart World for
<v Speaker 3>the private room like Knockout Tour stuff. Like, for all
<v Speaker 3>the criticism World got, the Knockout.
<v Speaker 1>Tour is a lot of fun to do. I agree.
<v Speaker 7>I mean that's the best part of the game. I
<v Speaker 7>agree because it felt new and fresh in a way
<v Speaker 7>that most of Mario kartt World. I think drops the ball.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, yep. And I think though that there's a lot
<v Speaker 1>of stuff on here that's doing more than that, So
<v Speaker 1>I don't think either cart Racer is going to make it.
<v Speaker 1>Sonic Racing also not anything substantial this year.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's good that it existed this year when people
<v Speaker 3>were kind of down to Mario Kart World and it's
<v Speaker 3>more of a traditional cart racer.
<v Speaker 1>It's a solid game, but.
<v Speaker 7>I know Sean like said, though, yeah, I put it
<v Speaker 7>there just to talk about it is like the alternative
<v Speaker 7>to Mario Kart because I think where Mario Kart World
<v Speaker 7>drops the ball, those of us who want that traditional
<v Speaker 7>experience got it on a Sonic Racing, which is pretty
<v Speaker 7>cool that a sonic racing game did actually keep up
<v Speaker 7>and in many ways is better than World. But going
<v Speaker 7>down the list, yeah, I'm not sure I'm gonna be
<v Speaker 7>able to make the argument for.
<v Speaker 1>It absolute how have that this is a run poison, right.
<v Speaker 3>It's really fun, it's really well done. I do I
<v Speaker 3>wonder if it would be an even better experience if
<v Speaker 3>it because we are just doing some test run on
<v Speaker 3>the site now. Yeah, one at a time, basically one
<v Speaker 3>a day, and it's been very fun. But like, I
<v Speaker 3>can imagine how much fun it would be to like, hey,
<v Speaker 3>you want to come over to night. We're gonna sit
<v Speaker 3>down and like let's just like knock out like hours
<v Speaker 3>of I'm solum. I think it could be even better
<v Speaker 3>that way.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, I've.
<v Speaker 6>Really enjoyed playing it the way we have been, and
<v Speaker 6>I think you're right that if we, like, if a
<v Speaker 6>person had like a full night to play with someone
<v Speaker 6>else in person are online, Yeah, yeah, it would be fantastic.
<v Speaker 1>Great.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's really good. It's it's fantastic. It's it's a
<v Speaker 3>great rogue light it's a great like it's doing that
<v Speaker 3>thing that I'm loving more and more where it's like
<v Speaker 3>taking the old beat them up style and like adding
<v Speaker 3>more depth to it and rogue light elements and stuff like.
<v Speaker 1>It's just really one of the best one of those. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I've I've had a very lonely experience playing abslom, and
<v Speaker 1>I just enjoy watching y'all run.
<v Speaker 2>I still liked playing it by myself. It's still work
<v Speaker 2>like that. But I bet yeah, Killop is maybe even
<v Speaker 2>better other than obliterating kind of funny. Did we check
<v Speaker 2>out Night Rain or it did not speak to me?
<v Speaker 4>I played a good chunk of this. I do really
<v Speaker 4>like I was mostly like pairing up with like Randos
<v Speaker 4>and stuff like that. I have beef with it as
<v Speaker 4>a multiplayer game because it's like rush rush, Rush, Rush Rush. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>it really encourages that when you go in multiplayer and
<v Speaker 4>like lobbies and stuff, everyone's just running sprinting. You don't
<v Speaker 4>have time to stop and learn or look at your
<v Speaker 4>gear and pick your bills. And it might have made
<v Speaker 4>some updates and fixed that, but it was just kind
<v Speaker 4>of like rough and frenetic, and I wanted something that
<v Speaker 4>let me slow down once in a while, and this
<v Speaker 4>didn't do that for me. I still I really like this.
<v Speaker 4>The boss fights are phenomenal. If you're like a Souls fan,
<v Speaker 4>I think this is like a great game, but kind
<v Speaker 4>of let me down in that way.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, I think there are a few we could maybe
<v Speaker 3>take off for just being like because this is year
<v Speaker 3>where there's like a lot of novel new multiplayer experiences
<v Speaker 3>and there are some really good games on here that
<v Speaker 3>are just kind of like better or same versions of
<v Speaker 3>stuff we've seen before. I would say Split Fiction being
<v Speaker 3>similar to It Takes two Battlefield six being a good
<v Speaker 3>battlefield games Jack, Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I think I think
<v Speaker 3>we can cut all those all really good games, but
<v Speaker 3>not necessarily anything we have.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I did like plod fiction.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's funny because I think it's probably better
<v Speaker 2>than it takes two, but it takes you just.
<v Speaker 1>Being definitely better than it takes it got a lot
<v Speaker 1>more kind of love. Yeah, I get it. Remember heading
<v Speaker 1>to the preview event and being partnered up with our
<v Speaker 1>dear friend Nikki Grayson and them and I probably being
<v Speaker 1>the most annoying to playing the game and the loudest
<v Speaker 1>because we were having such a good time playing it together.
<v Speaker 1>The early bit where one of you is controlling the
<v Speaker 1>motorcycle and then the other person has to like do
<v Speaker 1>the are you a robot picture? Yessing? The capture stuff
<v Speaker 1>was really novel. Also, you know you could be a
<v Speaker 1>hot dog with your friend. That's so you do that
<v Speaker 1>in Lego party. You can do that whenever you want.
<v Speaker 1>That's true.
<v Speaker 2>Battlefield six yeah, like Dan and I played for one night.
<v Speaker 2>We had fun, and we have not tried to play
<v Speaker 2>it again.
<v Speaker 1>I've not thought about this. Yeah, I mean it was fun.
<v Speaker 2>It's fun, but it's also depressing to be I'm like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>this is the experience I had playing battle in nineteen
<v Speaker 2>forty two. Really value of like having a modern version
<v Speaker 2>of that, of course, but it doesn't excite.
<v Speaker 1>Me that much, Sean. I haven't checked out much of
<v Speaker 1>the multiplayer in Legend z A at all is there.
<v Speaker 7>That is why I put it on a list. I
<v Speaker 7>didn't know how like the people who have played it felt.
<v Speaker 1>About such a single player Pokemon, And that's fair.
<v Speaker 7>It's such an interesting new addition to a Pokemon game
<v Speaker 7>because so for so long has been like you strategize
<v Speaker 7>and build this team for like competitive turn based battles. Yeah,
<v Speaker 7>and in ZA it's four player battle royale real time combat,
<v Speaker 7>which is just so far removed from what Pokemon traditionally
<v Speaker 7>is multiplayer wise, if I'm the only one who really
<v Speaker 7>got into it, then I'm not. I'm not going to
<v Speaker 7>push super hard for it, because even I like some
<v Speaker 7>of the games that the rest of y'all put on there.
<v Speaker 4>So I think it's like an excellent multiplayer experience for
<v Speaker 4>a Pokemon game, And it's like really novel how it
<v Speaker 4>makes certain moves that have been in Pokemon forever since
<v Speaker 4>Gen One made them useful all of a sudden, stuff
<v Speaker 4>you would never think about using. But I I don't
<v Speaker 4>think it hangs on this particular list.
<v Speaker 1>Right all right, I am cutting Pokemon legend z A.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna say our readers should probably be a lock here.
<v Speaker 1>That's how I feel. And I haven't even checked out
<v Speaker 1>a lot of it. Uh yeah, I think I made
<v Speaker 1>at least bowlt it for now.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, we're done to the heavy hitters here. I think
<v Speaker 3>Kirby air Riders probably needs the biggest defense here.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's super fun. I think the multiplayers.
<v Speaker 7>Cisco's really got into it.
<v Speaker 2>Where when we were playing that beta of City Trials,
<v Speaker 2>I was like, what is this nonsense? This is disgusting
<v Speaker 2>That first, like, okay, I like just racing, Okay, I
<v Speaker 2>like the tour. Then we like played a little bunch
<v Speaker 2>of City Trials and I'm like, I can't kind of
<v Speaker 2>understand this too. Now there's an appeal to all of this,
<v Speaker 2>and I love how wacky and weird is and that
<v Speaker 2>it's as far away from being a Mario Kart cloon
<v Speaker 2>as possible.
<v Speaker 1>And each time we played City Trials, no round was
<v Speaker 1>exactly like the other one, Like there was one where like, uh,
<v Speaker 1>Mike became super big and then I was super big
<v Speaker 1>as Rick and then just getting into a lobby with
<v Speaker 1>like up to sixteen of your friends if you can manage.
<v Speaker 1>It is just pure bedlam. I also like it. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know if this is a slight against the game
<v Speaker 1>that after you complete City Trials you go into a
<v Speaker 1>voting process with which mini game you want to end with,
<v Speaker 1>and well, crucially not a voting process, not a voting
<v Speaker 1>you do just pick, oh, you just pick right right. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>So it's like you may not even get paired with
<v Speaker 1>a bunch of people, or if you were on like
<v Speaker 1>a discord call with all your friends, it's like, well,
<v Speaker 1>I guess we'll go over here. And I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if that helps the game out, but like playing it
<v Speaker 1>with people really threw it up there on my own
<v Speaker 1>personal list.
<v Speaker 6>I think the thing is like it is, especially within
<v Speaker 6>City Trials. I still don't know what the purpose of
<v Speaker 6>it is. And yet I'm like at a certain point
<v Speaker 6>that stopped mattering where it was like, oh, it is
<v Speaker 6>just a lot of nonsense, but like you get into
<v Speaker 6>the flow of nonsense and it all culminates in this
<v Speaker 6>mini game and yeah, maybe you picked the one that
<v Speaker 6>no one else picked and so you automatically win it,
<v Speaker 6>and like that was not a negative or detrimental experience
<v Speaker 6>in any way.
<v Speaker 1>I had a good time the whole time.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's almost the lack of structure like makes it
<v Speaker 6>more of a hangout funt excuse me, fun time.
<v Speaker 1>I liked also, like the little world events that would happen,
<v Speaker 1>like all right, come on over here, everybody, we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>have a very small race, or like now it let's
<v Speaker 1>just go fight each other, very very chaotic fun that
<v Speaker 1>I still don't quite understand. You Also, if you have
<v Speaker 1>sixteen ricks, that's hell of fun. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>You notice how this game was like so quickly relitigated positively,
<v Speaker 4>Like people are like, actually, it.
<v Speaker 1>Just takes a little bit to kind of get a
<v Speaker 1>grip on it.
<v Speaker 2>I think that's why it's even received so much better
<v Speaker 2>than the original was, because like when we had that
<v Speaker 2>first game on the GameCube, a lot of people were
<v Speaker 2>really thrown off, and I think this.
<v Speaker 1>Time there's enough of those people who love that game
<v Speaker 1>to kind.
<v Speaker 2>Of convince us all to stick with it a little bit,
<v Speaker 2>and sticking with it really paid off.
<v Speaker 1>The more I play it more, I like it. It's
<v Speaker 1>that second button they added must be Yeah, that said
<v Speaker 1>it's gonna be tough to get up there.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we have to talk about peak yet that's probably.
<v Speaker 7>Like they they named it that because that's kind of
<v Speaker 7>the joke. You know, everyone's saying Peak, something's good, it's Peak.
<v Speaker 7>But they actually did make the Peak of Friends slop
<v Speaker 7>when when you get in there and we've we ev
<v Speaker 7>all played it, I think you missed them or something,
<v Speaker 7>but yeah, we've played Peak. And it's just the way
<v Speaker 7>the prox chat works and the way you know you're
<v Speaker 7>yelling up to your friends because you fell down the mountain.
<v Speaker 7>The way you can interact with each other with even
<v Speaker 7>simple items from like the balloons to the cannon to bugle.
<v Speaker 7>The bugle is so funny because it's just like, what
<v Speaker 7>was the bugle?
<v Speaker 1>Dude?
<v Speaker 7>You play some music, but then also there's a bugle
<v Speaker 7>that does something, And there's so many moments, so much
<v Speaker 7>emerging gameplay that can come from the smallest thing in Peak.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know because of physics, doesn't I don't know
<v Speaker 5>how it gets beat for that's.
<v Speaker 4>Kind of the great best games to play with Kayla.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I think Peak is just so novel in a
<v Speaker 5>way that is like, well, I know what we're getting there.
<v Speaker 1>I guess i'd be Peak is prey novel, but it's
<v Speaker 1>not exactly on an Island. Right, there's another.
<v Speaker 6>I'll say for for Peak, like it's become like indie
<v Speaker 6>gamings Fortnite, where it's like there's like a Baby Baby
<v Speaker 6>No Money concert in there now when yeah, there's a
<v Speaker 6>bit like where you go in the game and all
<v Speaker 6>of a sudden, a giant Baby No Money and his
<v Speaker 6>dancers all pop up on the horizon are singing and
<v Speaker 6>dancing and you can get like specially like it's turned
<v Speaker 6>into quite a thing, and it can withstand that because
<v Speaker 6>it is such a good multiplayer hangout, anything can happen
<v Speaker 6>game that people are going back to it over and
<v Speaker 6>over again and discovering this stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Uh. I think before by the way, I think we
<v Speaker 1>can cut Kirby. Yeah, not hanging.
<v Speaker 3>With those Even with that, I don't know if it's
<v Speaker 3>all I'm going to hang again, I don't think.
<v Speaker 6>So it's rough because it's like also a really good
<v Speaker 6>single player game.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. My argument for Lego Party is a couple of things.
<v Speaker 3>So like one, like just the party game format is
<v Speaker 3>great and a lot of games have tried it to
<v Speaker 3>varying levels of success. Mario Party probably the biggest one,
<v Speaker 3>but you know, as the biggest Mario Party fan, I know,
<v Speaker 3>it's filled with bullshit and stuff that is laborious and
<v Speaker 3>takes it's just the way Lego Party. Immediately when we
<v Speaker 3>play to this, she was like, Oh, this feels so
<v Speaker 3>much snappier. It's so much better. Like obviously that's great,
<v Speaker 3>but then there's this also added layer of like I
<v Speaker 3>love a game that when I go home for the holidays,
<v Speaker 3>I can play with anyone, you know where. It's like
<v Speaker 3>I peak is fucking great, but also it's like it's
<v Speaker 3>just on Steam. You kind of got to know how
<v Speaker 3>to just play games in general, and like there's no
<v Speaker 3>way my dad or my sister Katie would play that
<v Speaker 3>or anything, but Lego Party. I can go home and
<v Speaker 3>everyone's kind of played Mario Party that was always so
<v Speaker 3>accessible for casual gamers and stuff like that, and any
<v Speaker 3>one can figure out these Lego Party mini games. It's
<v Speaker 3>also cross platforms, so like I can play on my PC,
<v Speaker 3>Kayla can load it up on our PS five, and Katie,
<v Speaker 3>who's very very casual, just has a switch one. She
<v Speaker 3>can like sit down with her husband and they can
<v Speaker 3>both be local and play against me and Kayla remotely.
<v Speaker 3>Like it's just so much more accessful to a wider
<v Speaker 3>group of people. But I also just think the game
<v Speaker 3>itself and all the quality of all of the mini games,
<v Speaker 3>the maps, the way that even the individual maps feel
<v Speaker 3>different each time, the way that like I have done
<v Speaker 3>that theme park map probably six or seven times, and
<v Speaker 3>every time it's different based on what you build out
<v Speaker 3>and everything. It's just I think it's maybe the best
<v Speaker 3>party game ever.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's so impressive that they went they kind
<v Speaker 2>of went after Nintendo and beat them at their own game,
<v Speaker 2>which is a hard thing to do. Granted, they didn't
<v Speaker 2>exactly go after their strong bunch, Like who do we
<v Speaker 2>ever say, like, oh they this, this did a better
<v Speaker 2>job than ten.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and they've tried crashed bass Onic Shuffle ye friend right.
<v Speaker 7>Well, yeah, it's kind of the year for that because
<v Speaker 7>like SONK Racing is arguably better, and now Lego Party
<v Speaker 7>kind it just is better.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, totally.
<v Speaker 2>Uh party a lot too, Dan, I think I constantly
<v Speaker 2>want to play more of it. I use my birthday
<v Speaker 2>as an excuse to make you.
<v Speaker 1>All play more of it with me. I'm glad you did.
<v Speaker 1>That was pretty much a grief as we gave you.
<v Speaker 1>Like I was super happy to play it, and like
<v Speaker 1>I found myself like around like because we only did
<v Speaker 1>twelve turn yeah, rights like an hour ish we we
<v Speaker 1>got to turn ten and I'm like, oh, we're only.
<v Speaker 3>Doing twelve and that feels like every time you've ever
<v Speaker 3>played Mario Party, it's like pause the game.
<v Speaker 1>Oh my god, we're only at turn six. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>It's just so snappy as not as like go to
<v Speaker 2>the shop and talk to them for five seconds and
<v Speaker 2>then the.
<v Speaker 1>Big thing is just like it's so so simple the
<v Speaker 1>changes to make.
<v Speaker 6>I'm sure when you said up at this point, but
<v Speaker 6>the mini games that happen on the board instead of
<v Speaker 6>taking whiskey away, one of the characters to go do something.
<v Speaker 1>Their own tutorial screen after start.
<v Speaker 6>Sits there and we're just gonna spin at the board
<v Speaker 6>here right in front of you on the board.
<v Speaker 1>Just do it real quick and get back to the action.
<v Speaker 3>Tiny tweet of just like the winner of the mini
<v Speaker 3>game gets the role first. That is huge as far
<v Speaker 3>as if you're two people going next to it going
<v Speaker 3>for a star. The brick battles, the two B two
<v Speaker 3>where it's like, oh my god, this like really matters.
<v Speaker 2>So many games themselves, they're really fun, but they're also simple,
<v Speaker 2>like sometimes in Mario Party, they're so complicated that you're
<v Speaker 2>stuck in that previous screen for like ten minutes, or
<v Speaker 2>someone's like, I don't really get it, and then they
<v Speaker 2>started immediately fail and they feel bad.
<v Speaker 1>Everything here. You kind of get a grip on pretty quickly.
<v Speaker 5>The best part of Lego Party is that it makes
<v Speaker 5>you realize how terrible Mari It kind.
<v Speaker 1>Of is a funny part of it. I've been a
<v Speaker 1>Mario Party defender.
<v Speaker 5>It's terrible, and I'm like, I'm like, it's never been good.
<v Speaker 5>It's like you all were just introduced to one type
<v Speaker 5>of thing.
<v Speaker 1>You're like, I guess this is all I can. I
<v Speaker 1>guess it's hard to fusion frenzy. Yeah, so bad.
<v Speaker 5>Lego Party just had to put its name on the test.
<v Speaker 5>It is somehow light years ahead of that.
<v Speaker 2>They really did such a They did an amazing job.
<v Speaker 2>I can't imagine another like Party game being as good
<v Speaker 2>as this. I think every time they had an A
<v Speaker 2>B decision they picked the right one in terms of
<v Speaker 2>making this kind of game fun.
<v Speaker 5>I don't I don't care if either of these win.
<v Speaker 5>I just think we have it's a wide brush that
<v Speaker 5>we are painting with with Like Party, and multiplayer. I
<v Speaker 5>think they're even you know, I know party is a
<v Speaker 5>very maybe smaller sort of category, And I kind of
<v Speaker 5>get what you're getting at because like Peak is like
<v Speaker 5>such a multiplayer game, especially like we you know, I
<v Speaker 5>think we installed maybe some mods to let more people play,
<v Speaker 5>but whatever. Yeah, like legal party is I guess it's
<v Speaker 5>it's not multiplayer in the way that we're talking about it.
<v Speaker 1>I mean it's like multiple people playing. I don't think
<v Speaker 1>this matters. We have ten different genres on this list.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, you know, we've got Ranks, and we've got Party,
<v Speaker 3>we've got Extraction Shooter, we've got multiplayer.
<v Speaker 6>There is something to be said for Peak's ability to
<v Speaker 6>get everyone to work together well and and like to
<v Speaker 6>like help each other out and like other people's mistakes
<v Speaker 6>become the consequences you have to figure out, and it's
<v Speaker 6>like really good at like presenting those up.
<v Speaker 1>I'll argue that there are moments during Peak where you
<v Speaker 1>kind of just wind up getting isolated because you fall
<v Speaker 1>behind in the sure.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, but that that's its own like aspect to it,
<v Speaker 6>where they can hear people off on the horizon and
<v Speaker 6>he makes it feel even.
<v Speaker 7>And also they thought ahead because if you die, you're
<v Speaker 7>a ghost that can like hang out and you can
<v Speaker 7>even there's even gameplay there because you can relay information between.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's really funny. I guess I'm curious.
<v Speaker 2>I think this is one where always have played both
<v Speaker 2>of them to like maybe do a quick like hands up.
<v Speaker 1>Between when you're saying both, are you talking about Lego
<v Speaker 1>Party and Peak or so we're not including ARC Graders and.
<v Speaker 6>I think ARC Graadors might be my choice. Oh really,
<v Speaker 6>okay everybody, but but I'm not not. I like all
<v Speaker 6>of them pretty close, like they're all right there, so
<v Speaker 6>this it's not running away with it or anything.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean I like, I like our Graders as
<v Speaker 2>the third personally that's fine.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and I'm fine with except with ARC Graadors. I think.
<v Speaker 1>What's so?
<v Speaker 4>I think I maybe played more of it than most
<v Speaker 4>of us, but probably so as the first season when
<v Speaker 4>these quotes on that like went on, you know that
<v Speaker 4>like the first couple of weeks of like that friendly gameplay,
<v Speaker 4>emerging gameplay, like we're.
<v Speaker 1>Gonna shoot each other. I don't know, I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>No, we're good, Okay, we're gonna do the squad like
<v Speaker 4>crouch button and like we're good that as the weeks
<v Speaker 4>went on and the season got longer, then it became
<v Speaker 4>more like shoot first, ask questions later, and people devolved
<v Speaker 4>and it's like, of course you expect that. So that's
<v Speaker 4>that's what almost like makes it that third slot for
<v Speaker 4>me out.
<v Speaker 1>Of these cool I kind of want to give a
<v Speaker 1>super quick shout out Marvel Rivals during this season introduced
<v Speaker 1>eighteen versus eighteen and that's just funny. Yeah, that's crazy. Wow.
<v Speaker 1>Yeahs Also mini.
<v Speaker 5>Mini shout out to Cosmic uh mar Cosmic Invasion, just
<v Speaker 5>like a super.
<v Speaker 1>Little mini like amuge Bouche. Yeah. I think that's great.
<v Speaker 2>Absolute kind of like takes the cake for them ups
<v Speaker 2>this year.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah right, yeah, I you know what I think,
<v Speaker 1>because we were all able to play Peak together slightly
<v Speaker 1>edges it out for me because we could just uh
<v Speaker 1>you know, all of us there plus Kayla plus some
<v Speaker 1>other folks could just try and climb a mountain together
<v Speaker 1>and then if one of us died, like you said, Sean,
<v Speaker 1>we could be alwaukie talkie or just guilt trip someone
<v Speaker 1>for being the reason why we did it.
<v Speaker 7>Out for me because I think Lego Party, we've talked
<v Speaker 7>about this a couple of times with a couple of
<v Speaker 7>things throughout these discussions, Lego Party is kind of just
<v Speaker 7>like what Mario Party should have been all along. Yeah,
<v Speaker 7>so it's not the most original thing in the world,
<v Speaker 7>whereas Peak is like they actually are doing something different
<v Speaker 7>with this thing that you know, other games have done before,
<v Speaker 7>like Lethal Company and stuff, and they just made a newer,
<v Speaker 7>interesting version of it that I think, like, I'm still
<v Speaker 7>I still play it every week.
<v Speaker 1>With my friends and still a great time.
<v Speaker 2>I definitely like that Peak gamifies the friend swap a
<v Speaker 2>bit more like I like things like Lethal Company at
<v Speaker 2>like point with you guys, I'm not always opposed.
<v Speaker 1>To like we make our own fun.
<v Speaker 2>There's not necessarily an objective or it's kind of a
<v Speaker 2>loose objective. It is just a bit more engaging for
<v Speaker 2>me when it's like get to the top mountain, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>I get that, let's go, and then all the on
<v Speaker 2>silly like animated faces and cooperationllows kind of work around,
<v Speaker 2>there's marshmallows.
<v Speaker 1>It's a very natural comedy game. I like Lego Party more,
<v Speaker 1>but if it's like just me and Dan on that team,
<v Speaker 1>I lean towards Peak.
<v Speaker 6>I think I don't want to like, like minimize Lego
<v Speaker 6>Party by making the point of like that, I agree
<v Speaker 6>with that we are kind of rewarding it for fixing
<v Speaker 6>all the problems that Mario Party had. It also is
<v Speaker 6>just a great game, Yes, it is, right, it really is,
<v Speaker 6>and they all these games are super close.
<v Speaker 1>For me, I think I'm probably just a little bit
<v Speaker 1>closer to Peak. It would be a bad look if
<v Speaker 1>we rewarded a game that features me also, so Peak wins. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all right, congratulations to Peak for winning Best Multiplayer, and
<v Speaker 1>then Lego Party and Arc Raiders for the runners up.
<v Speaker 1>Very that was a harder category than I thought. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>there's a lot of really great games. Yea deceptive all
<v Speaker 1>right gang final category of Day two Game of the
<v Speaker 1>Year twenty one nominees are Resident Evil Village, Psychonauts, to Metroid, Dread,
<v Speaker 1>Eternal hit Man, Halo Infinite, It Takes Two, Death Loop,
<v Speaker 1>Guardians of the Galaxy, Wilder, Myth Inscription, Vampire Survivors, Death Store, Ratcheting, Clank,
<v Speaker 1>Rifted Apart. So many good games, a lot of great games.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna I almost want to immediately cut Ratchet and Clank.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's one of the most by the numbers.
<v Speaker 1>They don't that the numbers one. Oh yeah, that's inane
<v Speaker 1>that I just it.
<v Speaker 6>Was awesome to play. I heard one city that was
<v Speaker 6>so good I could not one.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's much more interesting.
<v Speaker 2>I think the only wratching clink that's better than it
<v Speaker 2>may be is a cracking time.
<v Speaker 3>See I think, like to me, like a cracking time
<v Speaker 3>and like up your arsenal are like, you know nine
<v Speaker 3>plus you know score games, you know, this was a
<v Speaker 3>solid eight. I think it's just like there's nothing surprising.
<v Speaker 3>Really had the mechanic everything.
<v Speaker 1>It looks tremendous, especially when it came out, you know,
<v Speaker 1>early in the place. It's so much fun to play.
<v Speaker 1>It's really Yeah, I design was incredible.
<v Speaker 2>I think the weird hacking man game, but the spider
<v Speaker 2>Bot was super switching. I mean there's you know, the
<v Speaker 2>one where you can kind of ride that dragon around.
<v Speaker 2>Some of these worlds really open up and are super.
<v Speaker 6>Cooling to be funny, and I think it's scene is like, so, well,
<v Speaker 6>look you are bouncing these things pretty quickly.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, it's just it's all that's that's cut
<v Speaker 1>Halo almost like something had something happened there. Huh.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, that's a shame because I love it's fun as hell.
<v Speaker 1>I love Halo Infinite. The campaigns fun as hell, and
<v Speaker 1>the multiplayer actually played good amount of multiplayer is awesome.
<v Speaker 1>It's a tough list. Really enjoy it takes. Enjoyed, it
<v Speaker 1>takes too. It was good to start and.
<v Speaker 8>Then way over we're not talking to though, right.
<v Speaker 1>Going to make it. I do like it, I don't
<v Speaker 1>like where it takes, that story, where it lands. So that's.
<v Speaker 5>And honestly, I I probably enjoyed Death Loup more than
<v Speaker 5>most I love, but I know it ain't gonna have so.
<v Speaker 1>Much potential, and it wound up being good, but not imagine.
<v Speaker 1>I thought it was fun to play once and never again.
<v Speaker 1>The multiplayer aspect where someone is invading your world just
<v Speaker 1>wound up being more of an annoyance for me. I turned
<v Speaker 1>it off.
<v Speaker 5>The game had the style and all the right like
<v Speaker 5>you know, characteristics, and then just kind of yeah.
<v Speaker 6>The thing about Death Loop is it's like one of
<v Speaker 6>those games. It's a kind of a very light m
<v Speaker 6>sim but because you are reliving the same days, it
<v Speaker 6>kind of gave me the confidence of like, oh I
<v Speaker 6>know how things work now, so I could be a
<v Speaker 6>little bit more bold with my ideas or the things
<v Speaker 6>I'm going to try, and so it's a kind of
<v Speaker 6>I think it's kind of a baby's first m and
<v Speaker 6>I think that's why it doesn't hold up very well.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, anything we want to lock.
<v Speaker 9>I mean.
<v Speaker 1>Like three Villain is good. I loved Return Philage is good.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's hard to I think it's a tough lock.
<v Speaker 1>I gotta be honest, Sure, I think. Yeah, I really
<v Speaker 1>like Syche Vampire Survivor. I mean I think that. I
<v Speaker 1>think I may lose Death Store. I think that game.
<v Speaker 1>I like it. Yeah, I don't like that store. I
<v Speaker 1>know we're all hit Man phrase, but it's like hit
<v Speaker 1>Man three, the one out of the new trilogy. Three
<v Speaker 1>is the weakest past Startmouth and that's amazing.
<v Speaker 3>Is great that the Winery place is great. I Dubai
<v Speaker 3>is great. I just I hate the way it ended
<v Speaker 3>so much.
<v Speaker 1>Bad Last Level very bad. Oh yeah, the Last Brain.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I wish they would have done more with the
<v Speaker 6>train with like DLC, but they when it became World Assassination. Yes,
<v Speaker 6>that's when it's like, oh okay, now it all is
<v Speaker 6>like perfect toy Box's hit Man three. Yeah, we can
<v Speaker 6>go it's a great game still, but it is.
<v Speaker 4>Can I talk about Inscription a little bit because I
<v Speaker 4>don't think it I don't think it hangs with I
<v Speaker 4>don't think it gets bolded for this. Inscription was my
<v Speaker 4>twenty twenty one Game of the Year. I'm a huge
<v Speaker 4>Daniel Mullens fan. I think what he He made a
<v Speaker 4>really amazing card game.
<v Speaker 5>I'm just gonna say, you're like, click click is like
<v Speaker 5>I know, like he's one.
<v Speaker 1>Of my direct inspirations. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Absolutely, he made this amazing card game with like really
<v Speaker 4>great like themes and vibes, and if the game was
<v Speaker 4>only that, it would be a phenomenal.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, that's exactly so much more. Yeah, and it's such
<v Speaker 1>a strong game shock that they spun it out into
<v Speaker 1>its own thing where you could just play the.
<v Speaker 4>Game absolutely like yeah, Casey's mod you can like just
<v Speaker 4>turn the game into the shack and playing like that
<v Speaker 4>version of the game, and the way this thing unfolds
<v Speaker 4>and it has an arg in it and yeah, just amazing.
<v Speaker 4>I'm waiting for Pony Island two to come out. I
<v Speaker 4>was hoping it would be this year. It's gonna be
<v Speaker 4>early next year, I think, But holy fuck, what a game.
<v Speaker 5>I like, I'm trying to realize twenty twenty one might
<v Speaker 5>have been the last year I had a lot of
<v Speaker 5>time to play games.
<v Speaker 1>Description. Yeah, yu Geo style dual discs. Yes, I was like,
<v Speaker 1>oh my god. But I was like, oh no, it's
<v Speaker 1>not letting me play that a bunch. I want to.
<v Speaker 1>I think we can cut Guardians of the Gallaxy love
<v Speaker 1>Guardians of the Galaxy as well, But I think you're probably.
<v Speaker 9>Right, Dispatch, right, Yeah, it's so far above it's that
<v Speaker 9>and it's you that has to do this.
<v Speaker 1>I know it's me that has to do this out
<v Speaker 1>of like you know, all of the Found Family style games.
<v Speaker 1>I really like and enjoys this. We all know. I
<v Speaker 1>really like Marvel, and this does that specific team very well,
<v Speaker 1>really well. I'm very generous towards like all of the characters.
<v Speaker 1>Have you played it more than once? Uh No, because
<v Speaker 1>no I have. I rebooted it up just because I
<v Speaker 1>just wanted to relive a couple of scenes. Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>get that. And also, I don't know if Chris Pratt
<v Speaker 1>affects your enjoyment of things at all. Kind of hampers
<v Speaker 1>some of my time revisiting the movies. But the game
<v Speaker 1>I think is very charitable to how it treats the
<v Speaker 1>character of star Lord, where the movies kind of just
<v Speaker 1>making the butt of all the jokes rather than the
<v Speaker 1>like kind of hard is the most likable star Lord. Right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but we can cut it based off of like everything
<v Speaker 1>that I'm remembering from twenty twenty one. I should play
<v Speaker 1>this play Yeah, yeah, I love it. You will occasionally
<v Speaker 1>go on sale for ninety nine. The only game I
<v Speaker 1>have not played here is Wilderman Touch wild.
<v Speaker 4>Wilder Ith is one of mine here on this list too.
<v Speaker 4>I've never seen a game do like the ideas shouldn't work,
<v Speaker 4>but essentially like you have sort of like these randomly
<v Speaker 4>generated characters and why I say randomly generated that that
<v Speaker 4>has filth attached to it in twenty twenty five, right,
<v Speaker 4>But in this game, it's like you're just telling this
<v Speaker 4>story and it's almost like you're pulling together ad libs
<v Speaker 4>and you're you're going through and doing these fights, and
<v Speaker 4>you're you're sort of on a timer because there's this
<v Speaker 4>like stuff creeping across this map and you're managing trying
<v Speaker 4>to fight off that stuff that's creeping across the map.
<v Speaker 4>Your characters will die and then they're they're gone right,
<v Speaker 4>and you have to get new characters that enter the story,
<v Speaker 4>and they all might be like interrelated. It's like super fascinating.
<v Speaker 4>The art styles charming, but like not not like amazing,
<v Speaker 4>yeah like style, it's it's like sneaky, deep, really fun
<v Speaker 4>emerging gameplay to the max.
<v Speaker 1>That's what that That's why I always meant to check
<v Speaker 1>it out. It's so much fun. I love it and
<v Speaker 1>now well I liked they didn't want to speed Psychonauts too. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I love that. The only Double Fine game I like
<v Speaker 1>to play. It's really good. That's a crazy thing to say.
<v Speaker 1>I haven't played. I was with them.
<v Speaker 2>I played One not too long ago, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>you know, and one is a classic, but it's almost
<v Speaker 2>a little hard to go back to after two.
<v Speaker 5>But I do think one is also not to like
<v Speaker 5>make it about one, but like I think one is
<v Speaker 5>such a great time capsule too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know.
<v Speaker 7>But it's not a great platform and is too tremendous,
<v Speaker 7>too sick to genuinely think two hangs with like some
<v Speaker 7>of the best three D platforms we've talked about how
<v Speaker 7>much Strobot. Finally someone made a game as good as
<v Speaker 7>like all the Mario Games. I think Psychonaws too gets
<v Speaker 7>slept on for being like up there as well, maybe
<v Speaker 7>so white on that level, but it's like it's right,
<v Speaker 7>that's right there for me.
<v Speaker 4>This is like this is when you bowled in this list.
<v Speaker 4>I also like, we're not even talking about the story.
<v Speaker 4>It tells how fucking.
<v Speaker 1>Good the first game pay it all off? Yeah, so original,
<v Speaker 1>It's so god.
<v Speaker 2>It still has this kind of funny little moments. I
<v Speaker 2>went from a shape game like we're just on the fenticular.
<v Speaker 2>He's like, yeah, particularly just really intular. I love that
<v Speaker 2>kind of crap rolling around the ball and all the
<v Speaker 2>psychic abilities and the progression of it feels really good.
<v Speaker 1>The levels themselves are great. The Iron Chef level, I
<v Speaker 1>think I'm gonna play this game again.
<v Speaker 6>That's where the game bugged out on me and I
<v Speaker 6>gave up on it.
<v Speaker 1>The bug followed me from Xbox Series X to that
<v Speaker 1>Sounds skill issue. Did you watch Psychotasy?
<v Speaker 4>I feel like that documentary colors my perception of this
<v Speaker 4>game in a really positive way. But I know it
<v Speaker 4>colors it, but I'm like, oh my god, the fact
<v Speaker 4>that this game got made is incredible, Like that the
<v Speaker 4>Iron Chef level, the fact that that level was designed
<v Speaker 4>by he like wasn't one of their level designers. It's
<v Speaker 4>just they do that thing where they come together as
<v Speaker 4>a as a group and pitch like game ideas and
<v Speaker 4>they do like a game jam. Essentially that came out
<v Speaker 4>of a game jam and then became part of PSYCHONATS
<v Speaker 4>two and now he works as a level designer for them.
<v Speaker 1>Games are jam, isn't it. I'm suppose you all like
<v Speaker 1>I was trying.
<v Speaker 5>I feel like I told everyone I know about this
<v Speaker 5>game and no one listened to me.
<v Speaker 2>But it seems like we don't have the votes for
<v Speaker 2>Rift apart the sense I'm getting unfortunately.
<v Speaker 1>I know you're a good person. I know, thank you.
<v Speaker 1>It's nice to be nice. Okay, I'm going to say it.
<v Speaker 1>I think Vampire Survivors has to be the third block here. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I think I want to say, but I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to say. I don't get it. I get it, but
<v Speaker 1>this boy, this game does not mean nearly as much
<v Speaker 1>to me. It doesn't do nearly as much to me
<v Speaker 1>as it does a lot. I think it is. I
<v Speaker 1>think it is. I'm trying to think it's.
<v Speaker 5>I was gonna say it's aging better than it is maybe,
<v Speaker 5>but it's obviously influential, I mean.
<v Speaker 9>Genre, you know, yeah, you know, I think compared to
<v Speaker 9>what's left, I think you could I think villages like
<v Speaker 9>Village is obviously fantastic, but like I understand where what
<v Speaker 9>we're rewarding here.
<v Speaker 3>I've put more time in a Vampire Survivors than any
<v Speaker 3>other game, and at least the last five or six years,
<v Speaker 3>across multiple platforms, like three different platforms. Yeah, I love
<v Speaker 3>it every time, even like there are so many unlocks
<v Speaker 3>and challenges, and like anytime I started on like a
<v Speaker 3>new file, I'm not like I got to do all
<v Speaker 3>this again. I'm like, hell, yes, I get to start
<v Speaker 3>checking this list off.
<v Speaker 5>I think it deserves it more than Eternal, and I
<v Speaker 5>think you can make the case for it deserving it
<v Speaker 5>more than Village.
<v Speaker 1>I like Village a lot.
<v Speaker 2>It's still kind of a mid tier, right, Village has
<v Speaker 2>a lot of highs and it kind of has some
<v Speaker 2>more figurable.
<v Speaker 3>And now, like I am a huge Eternal mark more
<v Speaker 3>than most people, I think. But I could see Psychoonot's
<v Speaker 3>Dread and Vampire Survivors three.
<v Speaker 1>The best Survivors is the blattro of this year? Sure, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>did you ever check out like the multiplayer stuff in
<v Speaker 1>Returnal I've always wanted to.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just bad at going back to games once they
<v Speaker 3>add stuff later, but I would love to try that sometimes.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, all right, all right, our final Our top three
<v Speaker 1>as of right now is Psychoonots to Metroid Dread and
<v Speaker 1>then Vampire Survivors Bangers.
<v Speaker 6>Screw me on this grub, don't you screw me on this?
<v Speaker 1>Well? Is this collusion we haven't talked yet. Yeah, it
<v Speaker 1>around it like crazy. It's so good. It's so good,
<v Speaker 1>It's tremendous. Okay, I love the Metro games.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, you know, obviously such good van as movement has
<v Speaker 2>never necessarily been Metroid's strength. It's usually exploration, it's atmosphere.
<v Speaker 2>This is the game that made the movement of Metroit
<v Speaker 2>feel super goodtle. Yeah, the way you're kind of zipping
<v Speaker 2>around and just jump around like crazy and dashing, even
<v Speaker 2>like the inverse of that where there's these kind of
<v Speaker 2>stealth sections and your movement matters in this different way. Gosh,
<v Speaker 2>just just super cool at that. Definitely the best boss
<v Speaker 2>fights the series has had, Like with Craig, if you
<v Speaker 2>have the bombs early, how it changes that fight.
<v Speaker 7>The way she interacts with Craig, She's just like, I
<v Speaker 7>am done with you.
<v Speaker 1>Don't do this again. I feel so good to play you.
<v Speaker 1>Ever witness someone that is incredibly proficient and extremely good
<v Speaker 1>at their job that it just comes off as like
<v Speaker 1>you are hot? Yeah, I watch you.
<v Speaker 8>I WoT your work every day but everywhere.
<v Speaker 1>But like y'all know me, I am not the biggest
<v Speaker 1>Metroid fan. I didn't have a lot of history playing
<v Speaker 1>any of the series, but like playing through Dread, I
<v Speaker 1>was like, Wow, Sam is as cool as fuck, that
<v Speaker 1>little uppercut pery thing that she has.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm really learning more and more every year how
<v Speaker 2>much I love pairing it. I'm sorry, I know, I
<v Speaker 2>know like some people can't stand it, but boy, I'm
<v Speaker 2>into the pair There's a reason it's so many games.
<v Speaker 1>It's because it rules. I personally didn't really enjoy the
<v Speaker 1>segments where you have to like run away from the
<v Speaker 1>Emmys that much. It kind of like killed my flow
<v Speaker 1>of the game. But like everything else, I really did
<v Speaker 1>push me over the top to like really really want
<v Speaker 1>to check out more of the series, check out other
<v Speaker 1>m I Jesus Christ.
<v Speaker 7>I love the Emmy sections because it is a like
<v Speaker 7>two decade long payoff because the game is called Metroid
<v Speaker 7>Dread because of a canceled project that was gonna be
<v Speaker 7>on the Nintendo DS. It's gonna be the follow up
<v Speaker 7>the Fusion, which which this game is. It is Metroid
<v Speaker 7>five yep, And it's the game that I was looking
<v Speaker 7>forward to as a kid so much because I want
<v Speaker 7>that next Metro game. And this Metroid Dread project was
<v Speaker 7>flown around forever, and I wish I had a recording
<v Speaker 7>of this. Watching the E three presentation where they showed
<v Speaker 7>this game off and they showed everything that is, I'm
<v Speaker 7>like sick and new two de Metroid, and then the
<v Speaker 7>word Dread pops on screen and I screamed like a banshie.
<v Speaker 7>I couldn't make that sounded if I want to, because
<v Speaker 7>I'm like, oh my god, they're paying this off what
<v Speaker 7>they built up Infusion now they are going to do
<v Speaker 7>in this game that they're reviving after all this time.
<v Speaker 7>And I think it works well because it plays off
<v Speaker 7>of what Fusion did and what a lot of Metroid is,
<v Speaker 7>which is that unease that like you know, like like
<v Speaker 7>these guys talk about with what they like of Metroid,
<v Speaker 7>the isolation, the loneliness and everything like that. You feel
<v Speaker 7>like you are in danger in those segments and that's
<v Speaker 7>what that's why I like them a lot.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, you were saying that Jan Samus has never been
<v Speaker 6>as cool as she is in this game, and they
<v Speaker 6>were like, really like nail it. And she has one
<v Speaker 6>line of dialogue maybe two. I guess she's too if
<v Speaker 6>you count the stream I do, yes, it is. Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>And honestly, all those moments hits incredibly hard and it's
<v Speaker 6>surprisingly cinematic when it does, like oh yeah, the camera
<v Speaker 6>will cut in when it needs to, and it all
<v Speaker 6>this stuff is done sparingly, which is like something I
<v Speaker 6>think Metroid does when it does it well, it does
<v Speaker 6>it very well. Of like you like, use the tech
<v Speaker 6>that you have for this game just when you need
<v Speaker 6>it to really emphasize these points, and it really does that,
<v Speaker 6>like very.
<v Speaker 7>Very It is wild because at this point it is
<v Speaker 7>the end of Samus's journey, and it's wild how much
<v Speaker 7>it pays off so many like plot points, gameplay points
<v Speaker 7>and everything from previous entries in a series that doesn't
<v Speaker 7>really show you much story, Like all these things pay
<v Speaker 7>off in a really big way. That is like, it's
<v Speaker 7>just cool. As a fan of the series and just
<v Speaker 7>a person who likes games that feel incredible to.
<v Speaker 6>Play, and and they for all those kids I used
<v Speaker 6>to call her Metroid, They like she fully becomes Metro.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, Sam's Bird Yeah yeah, partly basically, yeah, she has
<v Speaker 7>Bird DNN big.
<v Speaker 1>Good Bird fight, Bird on Bird Action. Okay. Also, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, like with a game like Silk Song, I
<v Speaker 1>eventually got super frustrated, bounced off of it, didn't want
<v Speaker 1>to play it anymore. There are points where it took
<v Speaker 1>me a long time to get into Dread, but like
<v Speaker 1>once I beat those segments, I felt like a fucking
<v Speaker 1>g I think.
<v Speaker 3>The balance is is better in Dread because it's like
<v Speaker 3>I feel like that last boss fight is very difficult
<v Speaker 3>and you really got to learn all that, and like
<v Speaker 3>Silk Song is great, but this is kind of exhausting
<v Speaker 3>having like twenty of those types of boss fights where
<v Speaker 3>it's like I'm getting my ass kicked over and over.
<v Speaker 3>I really memorized all this. I thought Dread was perfect,
<v Speaker 3>and I had a lot of challenging boss fights and
<v Speaker 3>that last one of the end is the one where
<v Speaker 3>it's like, yeah, you really got to lock in.
<v Speaker 7>It ramps up and then like Raven Bee kicks your
<v Speaker 7>ass a little bit. We've taught you so much, like
<v Speaker 7>you can do this, learn and you do, Like I
<v Speaker 7>don't hear anyone get stuck on the final boss. It's
<v Speaker 7>like eventually you get it, even to try a few times.
<v Speaker 6>But it's a really good pattern boss fight, which every
<v Speaker 6>boss fight in Silk Song is a pattern boss fight
<v Speaker 6>and very difficult, right, And it's like, yeah, I you know,
<v Speaker 6>it's a very minor criticism of that.
<v Speaker 1>It's like a one note sort of thing.
<v Speaker 6>But I think you're right that this sort of making
<v Speaker 6>a mixtape of boss fights is done a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>It's authored a little bit better a metroy dread. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm going to say this because we taught meant you
<v Speaker 1>mentioned him earlier. Joe Musashi, Uh looks fly as how
<v Speaker 1>I like this looks for and it's so very smart.
<v Speaker 1>Like the majority white of her costume.
<v Speaker 7>Again plays off a fusion how she had the fusion suit.
<v Speaker 1>It's like used to her body.
<v Speaker 7>It's like, well, no, now she has the suit of
<v Speaker 7>armor again, but the fusion suit is actually like beneath
<v Speaker 7>that it's they ran with it.
<v Speaker 1>It's cool stuff, true do I second two a lot though, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I yeah, yeah, these three like dread a lot.
<v Speaker 5>I For me, the memorial memorable game of that year
<v Speaker 5>is Psychonauts.
<v Speaker 1>But I can't I don't think we can go wrong.
<v Speaker 3>I'm these are all great. I'm firmly in camp dread
<v Speaker 3>what one akili?
<v Speaker 1>It takes two? It takes two, right, yeah, yeah it was.
<v Speaker 4>It takes two for this second US two is like
<v Speaker 4>my favorite of these three games. It's like my second
<v Speaker 4>favorite on this list. I think for Giant Bomb twenty
<v Speaker 4>twenty one. It's Metro Drift for me.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, because how I make sure the loudest voices in
<v Speaker 7>the room aren't the one like overpowering for all of us.
<v Speaker 7>So like if you know, as long as you guys are, like, yeah,
<v Speaker 7>the passion here makes it ours so much.
<v Speaker 1>Say that Metroid is our game of the year.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, you almost got there. I did play through this
<v Speaker 2>game like six times in a row. By the way
<v Speaker 2>you did, Yeah, I got like to make sure I
<v Speaker 2>beat it on harder because you got those different splash
<v Speaker 2>screens for different past Metroid games when you did it.
<v Speaker 2>It's like I beat it on hard mode in the
<v Speaker 2>time to get the super Metroid screen or whatever. So
<v Speaker 2>because even though that raven big fight like did get
<v Speaker 2>harder at that point, I fought him so many times
<v Speaker 2>that I knew the patterns and it was so satisfy.
<v Speaker 2>You know, you know the shortcuts, you know the map,
<v Speaker 2>even though it's on hard mode now you're kind of
<v Speaker 2>racing through it now, it felt so freaking good.
<v Speaker 1>Kind of all of these, I think, I, well, I
<v Speaker 1>do now want to replay Metroid Dread. I do too.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I mean I feel that it's like for it's
<v Speaker 6>up there with a link between worlds of like, so
<v Speaker 6>it's like I could replay that at any moment.
<v Speaker 1>Metro in general, you guys are so good at selling
<v Speaker 1>Metro tread like. I'm like, God, all right, I think
