00:00:00 Speaker 1: Welcome back number two Kentucky Sports Radio here live at Kentucky Brandon. Great Kentucky crowd here this morning in Louisville. Thanks to everybody for coming out getting ready for Cats in South Carolina. A three thirty kickoff tomorrow. Pregame show, we'll start at eleven thirty one. Let's go over all the things happening drew in Lexington tonight. There's all kinds of stuff going on. First of all, Kentucky Kentucky and Penn State play volleyball at Memorial Coliseum to top ten teams. Two teams that have a chance to all both play in the Final four in volleyball are playing in Memorial. It is the first public everyone is welcome opening to the new Memorial Coliseum. So I would say to you, if you have nothing to do tonight, that would be a heck of a game to go to. Probably the probably the best volleyball game that will be in Lexington this year is Kentucky Penn State tonight. It's at seven o'clock. So that's great. Chasing is Bull is playing at Rupperina tonight. Which are you going? 00:01:03 Speaker 2: There? You go? 00:01:04 Speaker 1: So that that's a big one. I mentioned the Pettygrass concert tonight. Also, there's an NFL game tonight which will be showing at KS Bar. It's on Peacock which I know a lot, but Packers Eagles, which is a heck of a game for a Friday night. So a lot of stuff going on tonight. If any of those events you want to go to the bar, you should come by. But also just drew a big, big evening in Lexington, Kentucky this evening. 00:01:30 Speaker 3: UK has another top ten matchup in soccer over at the Bell tonight too, playing I believe it's Wisconsin. 00:01:35 Speaker 1: That's right, That's right, UK Wisconsin sports playing soccer team. By the way, give it a shout out. The team had kind of fallen apart. But the UK women's team now six and zero in women's. 00:01:45 Speaker 2: Soccer for the first time. That's a right with a round of applause for the first time in a long time after their win last year. 00:01:50 Speaker 3: Volleyball is so offered that loss against Nebraska open the season. They've won three cents and I really need to add a top ten win playing another Marquis pone. 00:01:58 Speaker 2: So that is a very cool Uh. 00:02:00 Speaker 1: The UK Penn State volleyball a big deal tonight so a lot of stuff going on. All right, it is time for us to do as we will do every Friday, to pick our draft Kings KSR parlay. 00:02:11 Speaker 2: Oh for one. 00:02:13 Speaker 1: Don't let that discourage you. Just just to just try again. We're gonna hit one this year, and don't you want to be a part of it. You know what, Ryan, we hit one last year. That was pretty good. We got hot in the NBA. Yeah, Well for college football, we hit one. We're gonna hit week two. I am gonna go first. You can call this the lockdown, flip it and reverse it. 00:02:34 Speaker 2: Lock of the week. Oh boy, all right. 00:02:38 Speaker 1: Iowa minus three at home against Iowa State, guaranteed. I'm putting my my lunch money, Shannon's lunch money, Mario's paycheck on Iowa. 00:02:53 Speaker 2: Mario, you better hope we win. 00:02:55 Speaker 1: You will eat lunch, don't you. I know you want to get the September fifteenth paycheck. You better be ro on the Hawkeyes. Iowa minus three over Iowa State is my entry into the KSR Parlaytionnon, what is yours? 00:03:07 Speaker 4: How about Auburn minus twelve over California. 00:03:11 Speaker 2: I like that one. 00:03:11 Speaker 4: Actually I'm taking Auburn. 00:03:13 Speaker 2: I ain't got so good. One Auburn at home minus twelve over California. 00:03:17 Speaker 1: I did see a California fan posted on social media come into the Auburn game. Is there any bar I can go to that would have no Trump signs? And Auburn fans responded, don't show up? And I was like, you know, dude, you gotta you gotta know when to fold them. That's not something I would post on social media. 00:03:41 Speaker 2: If I'm a cal fin you're talking about a clash of culture cal Berkeley and Auburn Alabama. That is quite a clash. What about you? Right? So you got we got Iowa and Auburn. What's yours. 00:03:51 Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Alabama thirty one point over South Florida. 00:03:57 Speaker 2: You know Southworid almost beat them last year, not this year. It's a new team. You're gonna cover the thirty of all the games. You're taking a thirty one point Alabama cover. 00:04:07 Speaker 5: I feel really good about it. 00:04:13 Speaker 2: Three. We don't even need your lost the time stop. All right, he's in. How do you feel it? 00:04:21 Speaker 5: Strong? 00:04:21 Speaker 2: Oh? 00:04:22 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:04:22 Speaker 2: When did you know these two teams were playing. 00:04:24 Speaker 5: Just like five minutes ago? 00:04:27 Speaker 2: Was this before or after the verdigo about. 00:04:30 Speaker 5: Vertigo still kind of we're working kicking my butt a little. 00:04:33 Speaker 2: Bit, all right, all right, so Alabama, but we're doing it. Yeah, Drew, what do you like? 00:04:40 Speaker 3: I have a few things I like Before the parlay, I'm taking Texas to cover in ann Arbor, which sounds crazy, but the Michigan's offense struggles and they will not be able to keep up with Texas in that game. 00:04:52 Speaker 2: Texas is a seven point favorite. 00:04:55 Speaker 1: So we got Texas, Alabama, Auburn, and Iowa. We'll get it put up by later this afternoon and then join us because when we win. You know, I'll tell you what if we win the parlay, If we win. 00:05:10 Speaker 2: The parlay and win the UK game, I'll pay for a drink for everybody that comes to them. 00:05:14 Speaker 6: Oh nice, all right, Wait that deserves more applause than that, right, I mean, come on, the students took me for a ride last night when it came to came to the thirty percent off. 00:05:25 Speaker 2: But uh, but we gotta win the parlay. I think we will. 00:05:28 Speaker 5: I love the fact that you put that out there for the students and they took advantage. 00:05:31 Speaker 2: They took advantage of it. 00:05:32 Speaker 1: It was supposed to be a test how well does social media work when you're giving people a discount? Well, works pretty good, probably better than I would have probably better than I would have hoped. 00:05:41 Speaker 2: It was up next, Kentucky Cat, is up next, Kentucky Cat. How are you? 00:05:46 Speaker 7: How's it going? 00:05:47 Speaker 2: Gay good? 00:05:50 Speaker 8: The stuff like you want to happened to uh Ryan last year. It happened to Drew stuff. I took my dad UK game luckily a couple of years ago. South Carolina we played, and I had to buy South Carolina seats and their session, well, there happened to be four UK guys there, you know fans we younger, kind of drunker and hack and uh they was respectful, Well I will cus thank you, and they was very disrespected. There was a family sent there from South Carolina, pensile embarrassed to be a UK fan, but a man a woman. They had their two little kids. And these four UK students, like I guess was cousin and I carry it on and just stupid and hollered, and you know, the guy say, hey, guys, if y'all don't mind, would you stop me on the cussing round my kids here? And they run those guys and their family up out of there kept cousin tormentum stuff. I just don't want them to keep doing We can't. We're better than they or you know, and it shouldn't be like that. We're better, We're kick their tail and I don't. 00:06:49 Speaker 1: Yeah, well they'll they'll be a decent you know. I agree, they'll be a decent amount of South Carolina fans. I appreciate the call. Generally speaking, we have drew if you ask other SEC fan bases, we generally have a good reputation in football, not so much basketball, but in football for being a fan base that other teams like. If you were to rank the three football fan bases in the SEC that you think have the most obnoxious fans, Tennessee is clearly number one. 00:07:20 Speaker 3: Who's on number Carolina? South Carolina to think about it, you know, we used to be. 00:07:25 Speaker 2: A little cordial when they were winning all the time. 00:07:27 Speaker 3: But once Stoops flipped the script in that series in Kentucky won several in a row, I think they took offense to it. Go around punching our radio hosts. We've been to basketball games where they're a little out of control. I feel like they don't get enough credit for being terrible humans. 00:07:42 Speaker 2: In Colombia. Yeah, I might put South Carolina second as well. 00:07:47 Speaker 1: If you're just talking about sort of negative Tennessee is in. 00:07:50 Speaker 2: A whole nother stratosphere. 00:07:53 Speaker 1: But if you're talking about SEC, and it's probably in part because the games with them are more competitive, so. 00:07:58 Speaker 2: It's probably that what it is what it is, I, you know, third for me is hard. I kind of yeah. George is interesting because I don't know why they bark. 00:08:13 Speaker 5: He walked past them. 00:08:14 Speaker 2: Have any of you ever been a game at Georgia? You know this. You just walk with your Kentucky shirt. You just walk and they just go. 00:08:23 Speaker 1: And they're literally like they will get on all fours and the person behind them will grab their collar like they're keeping them from like please don't film this, Mario, Like they're like they're keeping them from scratching. 00:08:37 Speaker 2: It's weird, isn't it. 00:08:39 Speaker 5: It's it's weird. You were just walking down the sidewalk and people were just barking at you as you go by. I would put Mississippi State in the conversation. They're red neck with their are they red neck country bumpkin trailer track? 00:08:51 Speaker 2: Oh wow wow, whoa, whoa. 00:08:53 Speaker 5: They are nasty people down there. 00:08:55 Speaker 2: You know, have you there? We ain't putting that up all right. I'm not one to listen to them. 00:09:00 Speaker 4: I would say that cow bells alone make them the most obnoxious. 00:09:04 Speaker 2: That's a top three. Yeah, so you're gonna go. 00:09:07 Speaker 1: So you'd like to go Tennessee one, South Carolina two, Mississippi State three. 00:09:11 Speaker 5: I think that's a good list. 00:09:12 Speaker 1: I mean, I think part of it is Alabama LSU. Those teams have kind of been a different stratosphere, so they don't really talk trash to us. It seems like we're kind of picking teams that for the most part, we're kind of like dealing with a lot. 00:09:25 Speaker 3: Florida feels like the second biggest rival on the field these days. But why just we don't have many interactions with their fans. That doesn't seem like they travel that well up here. Of course, we all know they're on their in their basements in Central Florida right now in this season. So I feel like Florida's teams higher on the list with their fans. 00:09:41 Speaker 2: I don't have as much of it. And if you saw that Mark Story wrote that app So there's one more year of scheduling the way they scheduled this year, which was just kind of random, and then starting the next year, they're gonna do the thing where you play one team every year. Looks to be the case. 00:10:01 Speaker 1: We're gonna probably have eight conference games and one regular opponent, and ours is going to be South Carolina. So the only team we will play every single year starting uh next year is going to be South Carolina. I mean, that's I actually think Kentucky gets a pretty good draw with that. We could have gotten a lot worse team in that or a lot harder team. But Ryan, what do you think about the fact that South Carolina is probably gonna be the yearly team for Kentucky football going into the future. 00:10:30 Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. 00:10:30 Speaker 5: You look at the landscape of the SEC. If you're gonna pick a team that you want to if you're gona play every year that they you could should beat every year. South Carolina's gonna be in that conversation. You're a better program than there. You should beat them every year of time. 00:10:40 Speaker 1: But everybody else left, So like when they divided up, everyone's arrival really except us in South Carolina. It's Alabama, Auburn play every year, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Vandy Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, A and M in Texas, Arkansas, No A and M and oak Excuse me, it's Texas and Oklahoma. It is what A and M and LSU Arkansas and Missouri and then the one that's left, uh leave. It just leaves us with South Carolina Drew because there's nobody else left. 00:11:14 Speaker 2: I think we'd be glad to have that. 00:11:15 Speaker 3: You look at the last decade, outside of the games where Kentucky didn't have a quarterback and then the turnovers last year, Kentucky's been the much better team, have a much better record in that series. I think right now they're in a better spot moving forward. And heck, Beamer might not even be the coach at the end of season, so that's gonna become it's an opponent. I'd like a team that's in shambles. 00:11:33 Speaker 1: If you don't like Beamer, which I don't to, not tomorrow could get him fired. I mean at the end of the year. 00:11:41 Speaker 2: I mean, he won't be fired tomorrow, but if we beat them and then they go four and eight or five and seven, it might they might look back and go, this was the game that he lost that got him fired. 00:11:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, he locked into two against Stoops. He's actually two and one Againstoops. So I said one was the kayas your Own game where we turned it over on the reverse. Was that the first play? Yeah, and then the last Kentucky just beat themselves up. I think it's important for Stoops to get him back and then I'm with you. That could mark the end at the end of the year. 00:12:05 Speaker 2: Who's up next? Same thing for Billy Napier. He's getting fired anyway, but he might literally they have a bye week after they play us, they might he might literally get fired after that game. Who's next? 00:12:16 Speaker 5: Paul is up next? 00:12:18 Speaker 2: Poe? Go ahead, Poe. 00:12:20 Speaker 9: Hey, good day, guys. What's up Ryan? 00:12:23 Speaker 2: I hope Ryan. 00:12:24 Speaker 9: I hope you feel better. Buddy soon, Thank you. I was I've been waiting a while on here, and you were talking about guys with goggles that were good, and I was thinking back when I was growing up, there was a a college player for Memphis State named Elliott Perry who was up. 00:12:42 Speaker 2: That's right, I remember Elliott Perry. Yeah. 00:12:44 Speaker 1: When I was a kid, I loved Elliott Perry because he wore goggles, and I was like, I could be Elliott Perry. 00:12:50 Speaker 2: I couldn't but I thought I could had. 00:12:52 Speaker 9: A steady pro career too. I mean he was good, but good cause I just wanted to say that and say go cats and you guys have a great weekend and appreciate it. An absolutely packed house here at Kentucky Branded in Louisville. Mario is filming every everybody. We just finished our KSR Parlay. I want to tell you all before we get back to the phones, something that I bet nobody in here knows, but I found to be an interesting fact. ABC News last week did a story that I didn't see any coverage on. Maybe it was there and I just missed it. But do you all know according to ABC News, they've done a statistic. Do you know the place in America with the most the highest percentage of its population prescribed ozimpic? You know, ozimpic is the weight loss drug, and ozimpic do you know the city that has the high end America? There is no city in America where more of the people are prescribed ozimpic than this place. ABC News sent a crew there to find out why, and they did a whole story and somebody, don't say it? Did you see the story? Don't say it? I want to see if they can guess, can any of you? Obviously it's in Kentucky. I wouldn't bring it up. Where do you think it is? 00:15:03 Speaker 4: I'm gonna say right here in Louisville. 00:15:05 Speaker 2: You can say Louisville. What about you? 00:15:07 Speaker 5: I'm gonna say, Harlan, Harlan. 00:15:09 Speaker 2: I know the answer. Set this one out, you know, the answer Bowling Green, Kentucky. Bowling Green, Bowling Green, Kentucky, one out of every one hundred and twenty residents is prescribed ozimpic. 00:15:22 Speaker 1: Wow, that's a lot. I mean, if you think about it, I think it's like points. It's now point six point seven percent of the population is prescribed ozimpic. They showed like when you drive into town and we're gonna be in Bowling Green. 00:15:37 Speaker 2: Next week, and so we'll see I want, I want to look at this. I don't know we're all gonna lose weight show. 00:15:45 Speaker 1: But like apparently there are like spas that are set up in Bowling Green that are only for ozimpico and they basic and ABC News called Bowling Green the ozimpic capital of the United States. 00:16:00 Speaker 2: No, Ozamic's a weight loss it's a die. 00:16:01 Speaker 1: It started as a diabetes drug, but it's now become like a weight loss drug. I was shocked, Drew. You're from down close to there. Were you surprised that Bowling Green is Oh? I mean I would have thought it would have been like Hollywood or something I would have never imagined. 00:16:15 Speaker 2: Bowling Yeah. 00:16:16 Speaker 3: I read the news story about it, and they had like a map of a graphic with all the cities, and it's a lot of the ones you'd guess. But then Bowling Green's this big blob right in the middle of Kentucky on the map. 00:16:24 Speaker 2: So I would be fascinated how that happened, because you're right, the other cities are all on the coast. If you go look, the other cities are basically like where rich people live, close to La the suburbs of New York, the suburbs of Boston where rich people live, and then Bowling Green, Like, I gotta get to the bottom of this next week, Ryan, why do. 00:16:44 Speaker 5: You did the report give any kind of indication. 00:16:47 Speaker 1: They just said there's a ton of They did not seem to be able to trace what was the first reason. They showed that there's a ton of spas and things there, but they couldn't They. 00:16:56 Speaker 2: Didn't say what the first reason was. 00:16:58 Speaker 1: Someone in Bowling Green has to know why there's so much ozimpic And I'm fascinated Ryan, to find out. 00:17:04 Speaker 2: What it is. 00:17:05 Speaker 5: I have too, You got it's all curious. Now, what is the what's the reason behind Bowling Green being number one? 00:17:09 Speaker 1: So if you know seven seven two seven seven four five two five four In the text, machine or call in, because I have to tell you that was one of the few news stories that had me glued to the entire thing is why is Bowling green all on skinny drugs? 00:17:22 Speaker 2: What's next? 00:17:24 Speaker 5: Got airing up next? 00:17:26 Speaker 2: Aaron? Go ahead? Erin LuSE ty, Matt Jones? How you doing, Aaron? 00:17:32 Speaker 5: I'm good. 00:17:32 Speaker 2: I'm ready for the ball game tomorrow. 00:17:35 Speaker 5: I go off, yesterdray went. 00:17:39 Speaker 2: Sheet tailgate? 00:17:42 Speaker 1: You got right, hang out a second, so you got say that again. You went to Kroger to get seventy dollars worth. 00:17:47 Speaker 10: Of what receipts to get you into tailgating the Kroger field. 00:17:53 Speaker 2: There's a Kroger tailgate sponsored. 00:17:55 Speaker 1: Oh there's a Kroger tailgate and if you spent seventy dollars at Kroger you can get in it. 00:18:01 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:18:01 Speaker 1: I got oh and free food. Okay, huh, all right, that's kind of cool. It's a good deal. So you're going to the game. 00:18:07 Speaker 11: Good all day buffet and adults beer. 00:18:13 Speaker 1: I gotta feel like you're gonna use that all day buffet. I'm feeling well good. That sounds like a good a good Saturday. 00:18:20 Speaker 2: Yep, have good. 00:18:21 Speaker 8: We can't go cash there. 00:18:23 Speaker 2: You go. I like it. Aaron just wants us to know he's going to the Kroger buffet, so. 00:18:28 Speaker 4: He bought seventy dollars of food to get more free food. 00:18:32 Speaker 2: That's a good idea. 00:18:33 Speaker 1: If you need, yeah, if you need, if you need later, if you need the food anyway, yeah, we'll get it to go to go to the game. 00:18:41 Speaker 2: We're sold out tomorrow right for the game. 00:18:44 Speaker 5: There's still a couple of teams. 00:18:46 Speaker 3: Yeah, they just released some. We're encouraging fans to buy them yesterday. 00:18:50 Speaker 2: I don't know how quick. 00:18:50 Speaker 1: I'm a little surprised for a three point thirty game that's as important as this one. I'm a little surprised Ryan that there are tickets available. 00:18:58 Speaker 5: I was very surprised when I heard that they were still. 00:19:00 Speaker 4: I think maybe we had fatigue from last week with all the delays the people that went out to the game going well. 00:19:05 Speaker 1: I mean, I know the Georgia game, and there's a couple of games to look that are already sold out preseason. 00:19:11 Speaker 2: I'm just surprised South Carolina wasn't one of them. I would have. 00:19:15 Speaker 1: Thought, uh, I would have thought a three thirty start that would be because I actually think three thirty is the best time for a game. I mean, I don't know what you I think three thirty is perfect because you get some time to tailgate, you get some time to hang out, then you got time after the game. 00:19:29 Speaker 2: I actually think three thirty is the perfect time. Yeah. 00:19:31 Speaker 3: I got on there to buy the tickets. I don't know if they just released them, but it was only the upper level, like far over to a corner, so I mean, there weren't many left and they weren't great seats, so it should be close to sell out if they don't sell those. 00:19:43 Speaker 2: Do you worry at all? Ryan? 00:19:44 Speaker 1: You know there was the weird fatigue of the game last week. Do you worry whether the crowd will be into it or do you think it'll be a rowdy. 00:19:52 Speaker 5: Environmental kind of like you, there's so much on this game. We've talked about all summerhow this was the biggest game on the schedule. This is the one Kentucky had to have. ID think the crowd and the fan base would be overly excited. 00:20:03 Speaker 2: How many of you are going tomorrow? All right? So a lot of the people here and go. That's a that's a big part of the crowd. Remember we're opening the bar at ten tomorrow if we win. Just as a heads up, if we win, I'm gonna do the post game show at the bar tomorrow night. If we lose, I'll sit in my house and be depressed with Billy and do it. But if we win, I'll be at the bar afterwards for postgame that. 00:20:26 Speaker 1: Tomorrow is the kind of game that if we win, you find football players and coaches wondering their way in. Usually after the game, like a three point thirty game, you want to see a Vince Marrow Biden celebratory shots. Plus he's got a new contract to celebrate as well. Tomorrow night would be the kind of time it would happen. What's next? 00:20:44 Speaker 5: kJ? Is up next? 00:20:46 Speaker 2: kJ? How are you? kJ? 00:20:48 Speaker 12: I'm good man? 00:20:49 Speaker 7: How are you all? First time? Wick? 00:20:52 Speaker 2: Who are. 00:20:54 Speaker 12: Brock's gonna throw for two fifty tomorrow? 00:20:56 Speaker 7: He's gonna have three touchdown two. 00:20:58 Speaker 2: In the air, one on the ground. 00:21:00 Speaker 7: And regarding the. 00:21:01 Speaker 12: Fifth athlete, but goggle, I'm going with Michael Felt. 00:21:04 Speaker 2: But number two, I don't Swimmers don't care. 00:21:09 Speaker 6: Come on, yeah, swimmers do not count. 00:21:13 Speaker 2: They all have to wear it. That's not that It's like I'm saying a jockey that's not the same. You can't you can't do that. Appreciate the car. 00:21:21 Speaker 1: Let me set the over under of Brock Vandergriff passing yards at two thirty nine. 00:21:28 Speaker 2: Does he hit it tomorrow? 00:21:30 Speaker 4: I think he does. I think they're gonna be a pass heavy offense tomorrow. 00:21:34 Speaker 2: Two thirty nine. You're saying over, Yeah, what about you? Right? 00:21:37 Speaker 5: I'm also gonna take the over on that. That's a good number. Though I like that number. 00:21:41 Speaker 3: I'm gonna go under, but I think it's They're gonna have a lot of success running the ball. So I have him under on his passing. But whatever you want to set for his rushing line, which by the way, last week was fifteen yards, we should have hammered that. If it's anything like that again, it's going way over. Vandergriff's was fifteen yards over under. 00:21:55 Speaker 2: That's over. 00:21:56 Speaker 1: But remember if he takes a sack that counts as rushing yards. Well, I set the line so obviously, I said it right where I thought it would be, in the middle. 00:22:05 Speaker 2: I'm gonna go over. I think he hits. I think he hits. 00:22:08 Speaker 1: So if I'll put it like this, if he hits over, we're winning the game. Because our defense is not gonna allow the level of points to where South Carolina could beat us if we threw for two hundred and forty yards. I'm gonna say, if we hit the over, we win the game. We'll take a break and be right back here at Kentucky. 00:22:25 Speaker 2: Brandon, this is KSR. 00:22:29 Speaker 1: What image is Kentucky Sports Radio? A goggle person? We forgot Ryan Lemon former cat Ed Davender. 00:22:38 Speaker 5: Yeah, rest in peace, Ed devonder. 00:22:40 Speaker 2: Ed Davender war goggles. 00:22:42 Speaker 1: All right, So getting some answers here, Shannon on no zimpic Okay. That's what one person suggestion. 00:23:01 Speaker 4: That makes a lot more sense. I never thought of Bowling Green as being like, you know. 00:23:04 Speaker 2: They're not that far from Nashville, the. 00:23:06 Speaker 4: Overweight city of Kentucky, but being close to Nashville makes But. 00:23:09 Speaker 1: It doesn't have to just be overweight. It can be like people. You know, there's there are people who need to lose twenty pounds that take it. Here's another thing I didn't know. Did you know this? They may not need any more any more things tell me about uh, doctor. 00:23:55 Speaker 5: Mortgage, doctor mortgage. You know, it's always a good time to buy, especially right now. The fall buying season is really hitting hard. So if you're thinking about new construction, thinking about just buying a home, cash out refinance building that new deck on the back of your house. So go to Stockton Mortgage in MLS A two five nine equal healsing lender. Besides the dance, give me your favorite John Wall memory ship. 00:24:40 Speaker 4: I believe didn't know that was Brandon Night. 00:24:42 Speaker 1: I was trying to remember, Well, it sounds like he really made an impression against Carolina, against North Carolina. 00:24:49 Speaker 4: I was gonna say the buzzer beater to beat somebody in the turnam Oh yeah, first yeah, first scale of Brandon Night. 00:24:56 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:24:56 Speaker 1: Also, what about the the I always think of him and DeMarcus hugging after the shot at the buzzer against Mississippi State where they thought they had beat him in the SEC tournament but they actually were just going to overtime. 00:25:09 Speaker 2: I always think about that one. 00:25:11 Speaker 5: You can pick any game, there's always that one moment in a game where he just put it in a different gear and went right down the middle and just blew past. Everybody was so fast, maybe the fastest guy of the ball I've ever seen. That's what I remember about him. 00:25:24 Speaker 1: When you get a chance, if you get on YouTube and go look at clips from twenty ten, like changes are made subtly that you don't realize are happening until you go back. Go look at how long their shorts were in twenty ten. Yeah, crazy, Like it's not quite like it was even a few years. Like, if you really want to see long shorts, go look at the Jody Meeks Billy Gillespie teams. 00:25:48 Speaker 2: Yeah, they're wearing pants. 00:25:50 Speaker 3: They debuted new uniforms in Billy's first season and they almost touched their shoes. 00:25:54 Speaker 2: They're wearing pants. 00:25:55 Speaker 1: Then you fast forward the John Wall team, especially John Wall, his shorts are down under his knees, and now you got guys, it's now back to where they're kind of short. 00:26:05 Speaker 4: Like the eighties or something, or even before that. 00:26:08 Speaker 1: But like, that's the thing that strikes me when I watch those John Wall things is they were wearing like long shorts and that ain't it doesn't feel like that long ago. 00:26:16 Speaker 3: No, if you go back and look at any pictures or videos, shorts are the first thing going to jump out at you. And they were popular for a few years, But I don't know how you could run up and down in some of those things. I mean they're almost like dresses. They'll clump up on you. I know they're a little short now and with the John Stockton look. But being an athlete, I wouldn't want to have all that fabric on me. 00:26:34 Speaker 1: Can I tell you something that'll make you feel a little bit old, Jasper Johnson. They asked him who his childhood childhood hero was at Kentucky Devin Booker. Wow, Wow, Devin Booker. 00:26:55 Speaker 5: That's true. He would have been what eighty nine years old? Booker was playing childhood? 00:27:00 Speaker 2: Didn't remember watching job Wall to you? 00:27:03 Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I'm to say I. 00:27:07 Speaker 2: Think Mario makes me feel old. Good night, going to that Morgan and Morgan prescottence that made me feel old. What's next? You turn? Is next you turn? How are you? 00:27:18 Speaker 11: I'm doing well, Matt, thank you, and welcome back. Just three things there. First off, on the excant uh, my wife and I posed I'm from Bowling Greens and my wife and I both are on exective UH and we're on it for diabetes. But she has lost over one hundred pounds on it. 00:27:37 Speaker 2: I'm for her. You haven't lost any. 00:27:42 Speaker 11: That UH told in about wanting the grandkids name or whatever. My grandfather's name was Francis Allen, but people called him l Fae because he could not stand the name. And third final of win and where are you coming? 00:27:55 Speaker 10: To? 00:27:55 Speaker 2: My string? 00:27:57 Speaker 1: We will be at that there opening the new Draft King Sports book at the Mint on Thursday. So we will be there Thursday of next week. In Bowling Green, we're staying Wednesday night, but we will be there Thursday. 00:28:15 Speaker 11: Very good, very good, look forward, all. 00:28:18 Speaker 1: Right, appreciate you coming, Thank you, very appreciate the call. Yes at the Mint. Yeah, one hundred pounds. That's a lot. So there's two people from Bowling Green. They add to that part of the population. 00:28:28 Speaker 4: Obviously it works, I mean people keep taking it. 00:28:30 Speaker 1: Well, it didn't work for him, but they have an average average of fifty pounds. 00:28:34 Speaker 2: That's pretty good. Who's next? 00:28:36 Speaker 5: Brandon is up next? 00:28:38 Speaker 2: Brandon? Go ahead, Brandon. 00:28:40 Speaker 5: Man I died a little inside with that book or comment. 00:28:43 Speaker 1: Not me too, Devin Booker childhood. I remember when people were licking his cars. It felt like it was yesterday. 00:28:50 Speaker 13: So I've got two guys for the goggle well maybe one and a half guys for the goggle thing. And I just now tuned in, so I may have somebody already mentioned it. But one is Kurt Rambis from The Lake. 00:29:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, we mentioned that one. Yeah, all right. 00:29:02 Speaker 13: The other one is not really goggles, but it's like Greg. Greg Maddox back in the day wore those waspy horn rims when. 00:29:09 Speaker 2: He would think, yeah, so there you go, braves guy, Greg Maddocks, he looked like a librarian out there. That's right. 00:29:15 Speaker 5: Yeah, people down, Yeah, yeah. 00:29:18 Speaker 1: I appreciate cats. Go ahead, appreciate your calls. There's a video if you like baseball. I'm sure some of you are listening. There's a video I saw. It's about five minutes long, and it's Greg Maddox, Shannon and Barry Bonds and they're talking about an app that they had against each other. And it's Maddox talking about how he was deciding what to throw, and it's Bonds talking about how he was thinking about what he would throw. And listening to it, I won't spoil it, but they you know, it gets to a three to two count and each of them are talking about how they were trying to set up the other one, and it is you're listening to two people who obviously have great baseball minds. 00:30:00 Speaker 2: Everybody thinks of Barry Bonds as this steroid dude, but he was also really, really smart, and the two of them talking. If you like baseball, you need to find the video. It's fascinating. 00:30:09 Speaker 4: Here's something people don't know about Greg Maddox and I learned about probably from the same show that you're talking about on a different video. 00:30:15 Speaker 2: He would call. 00:30:16 Speaker 4: His own games, Yes, based on how he would catch the ball from the catcher. 00:30:22 Speaker 2: Catch it. 00:30:22 Speaker 4: So if like he caught the ball and like brought it in, next pitch is going to be a change up. If he caught the ball and like swooped it down like to his left side fastball, yeah. 00:30:33 Speaker 2: Oh, he would be making signals to the catcher how. 00:30:36 Speaker 4: He would Yeah, he was gonna call his next pitch based on how he received the ball. 00:30:40 Speaker 3: Well, I think it was Hobby Lopez was talking. He's like, you know, we usually have the signs. Maddox had the signs that he would give the catcher. 00:30:46 Speaker 2: That's interesting. 00:30:47 Speaker 1: Well, you if you like the Braves or if you you like that era, if you just like baseball. Just I was sitting there listening to him, and I was thinking, these two dudes are thinking on a different level. And at the end of it, Maddick said, Bear Carry Bonds is the greatest hitter of all time. He goes, I felt like I could out smart everyone in baseball except him. He was the only person that I felt was smarter than me when it came to baseball, which I thought was really interesting. Who's next? 00:31:14 Speaker 5: Matt is up next? 00:31:16 Speaker 2: Matt go ahead, and Matt which is why, by the way, he should be in the Hall of Fame. I agree, but it's ridiculous that he's not. Matt go ahead. 00:31:23 Speaker 12: Hey guys. First of all, I'm from Paducah, and the Ozipic thing is real, and let's be a West Kentucky thing. There's another one called Montreal. I think something like that. And I can name two hundred people in Pduka that are taking one of those two things. 00:31:36 Speaker 2: So what is it with Western Kentucky? Are you always trying to feel good about ourselves? This a little way? Is there? 00:31:42 Speaker 1: Like a Western Kentucky beauty thing happened that I didn't know. 00:31:45 Speaker 3: Winters coming up? That's scuffing season for a lot of people. You just want to have your back. 00:31:49 Speaker 1: You walk to Central City and everybody's just flaunting it everywhere. 00:31:52 Speaker 3: I don't know central City is tapped into the ozipick yet sounds like Paduca, But go ahead, sir. 00:31:58 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:31:58 Speaker 5: No. 00:31:58 Speaker 12: I tried to get on it in my be and I was like one percent too low. But anyway, I was at the game last week and I'm coming this weekend, but I had to I had to comment. During the delay, my sons and I went down from the top and we stood in the for some people to lead down low in case, you know, case they could take their seats. And to see the cameraman in the corner with a college student with a name tag and his buddy was laying across the wheelchair access seats goofing around, and they let us sit there. But to think that that is the feed, I actually thought as I was watching them with the camera everywhere and laugh and goggle and have you know, goof around, I thought, how in the world who's gonna watch this? To think that that was the life feed? 00:32:38 Speaker 2: It was over the thing. 00:32:39 Speaker 1: Yeah, I think people, I appreciate the call. You want to go back and watch the first three or four minutes when they switched to the next feed, it is clear to me that the UK people did not know it was going over television. Go back and watch it, like the play would happen, and then the camera like just starts moving. 00:32:59 Speaker 2: Up and down. Thought the cameraman got and then it would just zoom in on a random student and it was like, somebody needs to get in their ear and say, this is going over the air. Ryan. It was really strange. 00:33:12 Speaker 5: Apparently the SEC Network truck had no communication with the UK guys that were running those cameras, so they took the feed without the UK guys not knowing that they were on live SEC Network team. 00:33:23 Speaker 1: You watch it, I mean that could That's why most That's why I was gonna say, that could have gone a lot worse if if they weren't careful. So anyway, UK Federal Credit Union it is September and as soon as my internet works, I'll tell you about UK Federal Credit. 00:33:38 Speaker 2: Union, the official credit union of. 00:33:40 Speaker 1: The University of Kentucky, serving the UK since nineteen thirty seven, from a student to a graduate to an employee. UK Federal Credit Union is here for you. It was named Forbes' best in state credit union in America. 00:33:52 Speaker 2: That's pretty good. 00:33:53 Speaker 5: That's very good. 00:33:53 Speaker 2: I mean, how many credit unions you think there are in America? 00:33:57 Speaker 5: A bunch? 00:33:57 Speaker 2: Well? How I mean that's that each state has one, so fifteen. 00:34:02 Speaker 5: There's more credit unions in that. 00:34:04 Speaker 2: But state credit yes, fifty. 00:34:11 Speaker 1: Supporting students and teaching good money management. It is UK Federal Credit Union's biggest initiative is banking only. 00:34:21 Speaker 2: Better at UK Federal Credit Union. 00:34:23 Speaker 1: We'll take a break, give away some Kentucky South Carolina tickets and more. 00:34:26 Speaker 2: This is KSR walking back. 00:34:28 Speaker 1: It is Kentucky Sports Radio final segment cats in South Carolina and tomorrow let me go over again the schedule of the day. Our cast bar opens at ten am, an hour earlier than usual. Come on in, it's gonna be our regular food. But you know what, who doesn't want wings at ten am? 00:34:45 Speaker 2: Show? You can drink the and I L Beer at ten am? What are you worried about? 00:34:49 Speaker 1: Did you get there at ten You're guarantee spot Our pregame show starts at eleven thirty. 00:34:54 Speaker 2: The catwalk is at one Is that right? Two hours and fifteen minute. 00:34:59 Speaker 1: Catwalks one fifteen The buses. We'll start running from kspar at one. Game is at three point thirty on ABC, so everybody, that's the first game we've probably had on ABC, and ever I'm not sure we've maybe we played Louisville maybe once on ABC back when it but we play on ABC. 00:35:19 Speaker 2: Uh. 00:35:19 Speaker 1: And then I'll do the postgame show if we win. Well, I'll do the postgame show either way. If we win, it'll be from the bar, from the bar, and that'll probably be seven thirty eight ish. So that's that's kind of what we're looking at. Big time game will make our predictions in a minute. I created the KSR Celebrity Survivor League. We have fifty people in it. The last person to sign up was Patrick Toles. He took the last spot. Derek Abney is in it as well. We got fifty people. A friend of mine created a spreadsheet. She spelled some of the words miss because she said my writing was so bad and she didn't know who the people were. So but if we fixed it and now everybody's in there, like twenty of the people have made picks, but it's time for us to make our picks. Shannon. For people who don't know how to survivor league works. You pick an NFL team, all they have to do is win and you move on, but then you can never pick that team again. So you pick one team to win this week. All they gotta do is win, but you can never pick them again. Shannon, what team are you picking? 00:36:21 Speaker 4: I'm taking Cincinnati. 00:36:23 Speaker 1: You're taking the Bengals, all right, I'll do a hand yours off there to them. I will be a spoiler. I'm gonna go ahead and pick the Bengals as well. Bengals play the Patriots. That's gonna be my team, the only team my time. I can pick them this entire year. 00:36:36 Speaker 5: Ryan, I love my boy. Devin Key made the Broncos roster. May start for the Broncos against the Seahawks, but I'm picking him to lose. I'm picking Seattle Seahawks. 00:36:45 Speaker 2: The Seahawks are your pick. 00:36:46 Speaker 1: Just so you know, the only other people that have picked that from from barstool, Brandon Walker and Randall Cobb picked the. 00:36:55 Speaker 5: Pick the trust. Randall Cobb, good, good choice. 00:36:57 Speaker 2: Most people, by the way, have picked the Bengals or other team. So I will let you figure that out. Billy, what do you got? I'm fading the Panthers. 00:37:05 Speaker 4: So I'm going the New Orleans Saints at home against Carolina. 00:37:07 Speaker 2: You're taking the Saints. Yes, you are the first person that has taken the Saints of the teams i've gotten so far. Good, all right, handing that to him, Drew, Who you got? 00:37:16 Speaker 3: I want to say Bengals, but I'll be different and go with the Buffalo Bills they host Arizona from Buffalo Bills. 00:37:24 Speaker 1: Meyern Metcalfs to Fanya Ball, Congressman Andy Barr are all on the same team as you. They all picked the Bills as well. And Mario, what is your pick? 00:37:35 Speaker 2: I'm going with the LA Chargers. Oh, You're taking the Chargers over the Raiders. You are the first person so far who has taken the Chargers. Big win. 00:37:44 Speaker 1: So there you go. So those are our picks to you celebrities out there. I'm sure you're not listening, but if you are, you better get your picks into me before Saturday night at midnight. 00:37:54 Speaker 2: Who's next? Joe is up next? Joe? Go ahead? Joe? 00:37:58 Speaker 7: Hey, guys, how you doing doing good? May I please ask how do I find your parlay on draft? 00:38:06 Speaker 13: Here? 00:38:07 Speaker 1: Well, it has to go up first, It's not up yet, but they'll are you in Kentucky? I am not, okay, If you're not in Kentucky, it takes a little digging. You click on college football and look for it. If you're in Kentucky when it goes up, it'll be on the front page of your app. But if you're not in Kentucky, it is kind of hard to find that. I so hopefully you'll find it. 00:38:29 Speaker 7: Well, it's not like in a pool where I have to enter KSR or something. 00:38:32 Speaker 2: Belt just no, we're gonna have a CFB tab. 00:38:36 Speaker 1: It's on the CFB tab and you just keep scrolling and you'll find it. If you're in Kentucky, it'll be one of your first two or three. 00:38:44 Speaker 7: All right, thank you, Cat's fight. 00:38:46 Speaker 1: I will say this. This tells you how many fans Kentucky has. Usually by the time the game starts, only a handful of them are are bet more than us. 00:38:55 Speaker 2: Even though Ryan is part of it, that people still people still do it. What's that. 00:39:01 Speaker 5: Got Mike up? 00:39:02 Speaker 2: Next? Mike? Go ahead? 00:39:03 Speaker 10: Mike, Hey, guys, Mikes and Louisville coach cal famously said he should have left after ten years and mask Stoops now has twelve under his belt. Do you think the same thing applies to football coaches? 00:39:18 Speaker 1: No, I don't. I think basketball is a different beast here. Expectations are so high. I mean, I think Stoops needs a good year just to keep the fan momentum going. But I kind of think and I appreciate the call, Drew. Do you agree football's a different beast here? I think the expectations are different than with basketball. 00:39:35 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it. 00:39:36 Speaker 3: Doesn't age you in dog years, like Cal would always say. But I don't think Stoope has a whole lot left. I mean, twelve is still a long time, even though it is different than basketball, and with his family history of people were retiring early, I don't know how much Tiger that window will be. 00:39:50 Speaker 1: I think it'll be two to three years, and then we'll be we'll probably be looking at a different coach. Also, NFL starts Sunday. Just a reminder. We'll have Bengals watch parties every every stay and I think they play Sunday at one will be our first one. All right, let's do the Cats in South Carolina. Kentucky's a ten point favorite at home, ABC National Television, a must must win game. 00:40:17 Speaker 2: Shannon, give me the score in the MVP. 00:40:19 Speaker 4: I think Kentucky covers broadcast a big game. Twenty seven thirteen Cats. I'm gonna go with barry On Brown is my MVP. 00:40:26 Speaker 5: Berry On Brown Ryan Kentucky twenty one now almost say thirty one, thirty one to ten? Whoa yeah, thirty one to ten? Dankey starts his heisman. 00:40:35 Speaker 2: You don't get to say pick Dankey. We made that rule, remember, and. 00:40:38 Speaker 5: He picked barry On, so I guess I'll pick Macklin. 00:40:40 Speaker 2: Macklin go. 00:40:41 Speaker 3: I also have twenty seven to thirteen. Brock vandergris my MVP, but he's using his legs a lot to get there. 00:40:47 Speaker 1: Twenty I suppoy you and I are always so close. I'm gonna go twenty seven seventeen. I think it's a push. 00:40:54 Speaker 2: Kentucky wins and I will take Dion Walker will have a massive game for the Cats. 00:41:00 Speaker 1: Thank you all very much. Where's Michael Dirrett? Michael Dirrett, you went two tickets to Kentucky, South Carolina and a parking pass. 00:41:08 Speaker 5: Nice. 00:41:09 Speaker 2: Thank you all very much. 00:41:10 Speaker 1: To all of you listening, I'll see you at eleven thirty for the pregame show with this crew in Max Stuffie. 00:41:15 Speaker 2: Thanks to Kentucky, Brandon. 00:41:16 Speaker 1: Louisville eat it.
