And We're back lapsed Fan Wrestling podcast WWF. Saturday Night's Main Event November fourteenth,
nineteen ninety two on Fox, the final Saturday Night's Main Event as it
should have been. Yep and Boss, we opened right on arena. It
really it's disturbing. It's disturbing to me how it goes right into it,
like to not have some kind of a of a lead and bothers me they
barely welcome us. It's like, if I saw this at the time,
I would have been worried I missed something that I was in progress. Again,
you know, that's kind of what it was for me. I remember,
I remember, I can remember sitting and watching this show and I was
again just so excited to see what it was going to be like, to
to see what the Saturday Night's Main Event opening was going to look like.
And then it just never happened. It just never fucking happened and just went
right in. And I'm being so disappointed because all I wanted was to see
I loved hearing theme music, right, I loved hear ring theme music,
and I wanted to hear the theme music to Saturday Night's Main Event, which
I you know, I have now but little welcome everyone open on arena.
De burs is in the ring or coming to the ring, and Vince welcomes
us from Indiana State University's home and Center at Saturday Night's main event. Got
that golden logo right there where it belongs. Yes, the entrance way Yes,
and the Hollywood Squares style tron gout to all these pissed off fans booing
Money Inc. As the champions at the time, Money Inc. The tag
champs step out, Yeah, you know, ruining that incredible title run of
the natural Disasters fuckers against the Ultimate Maniacs, the Ultimate Maniacs. Heathen says,
if you want to see toe holds, forget it in this one.
Yeah, here, I got that one for you. Well, if you
want to see toll holds, arm locks, head locks, forget it,
You're not going to see that. But you're going to see the Ultimate Maniacs.
And what their name implies, it's exactly it. They are Ultimate maniac
Savage and the Warrior Amazing and says it won't be scientific wrestling match. It's
likely, however, to be a brawl. And so we have Heenan and
Evince with the ring behind them. So they clearly green screened this the stand.
Oh yes, it's so. Yeah, It's just something that I never
really noticed. I never really got it until yeah, you know, I
when I first I didn't notice it as a kid like that they that they
did that, that there was this fucking shitty definitely, you know what I
mean. You know, I didn't notice it TVs. It didn't look so
bad, right and standard deaf on a small TV. You know, right,
that's true. That's a good point. Actually, yeah, you just
it doesn't look as fake. It's the w w F Triple Crown. That's
definitely the tagline for the show that Vince has decided on because their three titlehoods
take and all the the only title all three titles. Yeah right, there's
no more. Yeah yeah, because there wasn't even women straps at the time.
They had uh, they still had the logos for the wrestlers. What
a beautiful thing this was. Man, Yes, I'm aware bringing back what's
the problem. There's no reason to not have those those are so great,
they're so phenomenal, like clip art for the wrestler you know, yeah,
show them on the screen, and that's how they displayed the matchups instead of
showing their faces. They showed the artwork of the wrestler and the representation of
it, and I just felt so unique. Really, did you know?
It made it feel really different? For sure? Heenen says. Voodoos in
the air are wiggling his fingers, knowing that Papashango takes on Brett Hard later.
They're also gonna have a funeral parlor segment on this episode of SNM yes,
where the Undertaker guests on the funeral parlor, which is very Now,
that's so bizarre. It's your own fucking show. Why are you you know,
it's your own thing. Why are you guessing on your own thing?
Money Inc. Has the tag belts that matter, but the world on the
belts is not in red. Interesting, I can dark and blue or black.
I didn't notice that. That's very interesting. Here comes Warrior firing out
in the singlet with the bricks air brushed on them, with Renny Savage behind
them in the red and yellow so gross, I know they are. They're
red and yellow. They're red and yellow. They're wearing red and yell they
are they are hulk hoaging it up. They actually look like a McDonald's value
meal out there a Warrior did start to resemb McDonald's supersized fry box by this
rest in Morgan Spurlock. By the way, Oh he died, he dies
cancer. Did he really win? Like two weeks ago? Holy shit,
I had no idea. That's how it ends. For the guy who waved
McDonald's for documentary, every day, for what was it a year, it
was like a year or something, eat McDonald's and for every meal, right
like, that's that's the part, every three days. That's that's the part
that rubbed me the wrong way about that whole about that whole experiment was that
he's eating McDonald's more than anybody does. You know, I I I can't.
I don't know one person who eats McDonald's three meals a day, every
day of the week. I don't know who eat it every day the week
at to begin with, right exactly? You know, And I know that
it's affordable. It used to be affordable food for people. Yeah, I
mean, it's it's just amazing. It's it's like, but that's the old
that's always the thing that rubbed me the wrong way about that whole movie and
experiment was that he went to a place that not many people go to regarding
that, like, right, No, nobody eats that much of it that
I know of. Yeah. If you if you food like that three times
a day for a year, yeah you're gonna have some problems. Yeah you're
gonna Yeah, you're gonna fucking die. I don't think the cancer was related
to it, but you know, no, I'm sure not not gonna stop
people from drawing the irony. But Vince says that a Savage and Warrior just
hit the ring. Pell mell so he like Vince getting in there, and
so it's the ultimate warrior. Randy Savage first money ink for the tax scraps
to open us up here and Deebers toss his warrior out of the ring and
start right here. Yeah, I got this because it's it's funny. They
it's funny to hear then like they just start off as like with a giant
war But then you get Vincent Heenan fucking arguing, which is just great.
It looks for a fish amazing. Can't get a word in edgewise. I
know, I love it. It's so great to him, will you shut
up? Warrior gets tossed out of the ring, gets right back in throwing
these huge bolos and then tosses Debiassi and then a double clothes line by the
Maniacs put down both members of Money Inc. And Heenan screaming about how they
are supposed to be two men on the apron. What is this? I
coopro bann are still high? I still hanging way? Oh yes, doesn't
matter. Remember when a bulldog pin Repo man the clip. He looks in
the camera and goes, it's like coprol, you gotta want it. But
they're still trying to find a way to make that happen despite the screw.
Course, of course they need to make it happen. It's important. Jimmy
Hard's ring side with Money Inc. Of course his warrior and Savage tossed them
out of the ring. Again. We get a brain scan smack dab in
the middle of Saturday Night's main event. I'll take it, and he circled
his heads and then he draws lines through, you know, going each way,
and he ends up drawing a pair of glasses on them and says,
hey, there's another loser. H Ross perrot. The amount of shoehorned in
references to the nineteen eighty presidential election. They go hard Man WWTV in the
fall of nineteen ninety two was just bizarre. They go fucking hard. Had
Kurt Heading express dismay at the outcome of the election on Superstars? Did they
really? They did? Yeah? Wow, you take an offhanded remark,
but it's like, what the fuck are you talking about? You know,
why are you talking about this? I know it's so were they? I
mean, were they in business with Bush? Like, well, Vince has
always been a Republican. But yeah, I don't know, I don't know
what when Bush Junior came around by h W Yeah, hw W, George
W. George W. They remember they sent the wrestlers to the Republican National
Convention and every thing. It's crazy. I do remember that. I mean
I think they was a Democratic one too, but that was just like for
appearances they as we kind of find out what Linda she was. She's been
a social climber in the political Republican political circles for years, been thirst for
that she needs it's never got it. No, not the record as well,
So Mikeyotis presiding, Teddybasi Swings and Missus and then Randy Savage. It's
an atomic drop which sends Dbasi right into the Ultimate Boyer's right hand, and
you got to believe Debias and Network TV is gonna flare flop for the industry.
He knows what to do, he knows what he's here to do.
He's here to get to get certain things across to remind us who he is,
why he is, and where he's going. Big time obnoxious, artificial
crowd noise throughout the whole thing. Yeah, right, this is that's just
like I don't like it. He first said that. Yeah, it's kind
of like why, you know, what, what do you what's going on
that that's happening? Why is this? I don't understand. I guess just
the really bad? Is it really that bad? Like nobody be nobody's fucking,
you know, paying attention to your fucking wrestling matches. No wonder.
They felt like they were such great bookers back then everything was post produced.
They had Yeah, you could do anything you wanted to with that. So
Randy Savage with the hot shot over the top, and then Tedbasi does the
head over heels bump, taking the rope across his throat. Tag now to
the Slim Warrior. The Slim Warrior rakes the eyes though and chops Hi whips
Ultimate Warrior in it, but he stops on a dime and sup Plex is
Tayba Warrior throwing a soup lex in the mix. Hey, you gotta do
something, I guess like the super lex and Flair describes recuffed the injury there
that gets to and then Warrior the running start and misses a tackle and absolutely
eats the canvas and convulses on the mat to tack to I r S.
And he says, give him the big audit. Vince calls him out for
interrupting. I r S ducks the line, grabs a sleeper, and Vince
says that Flare and Razor are happy about this. You know ye Savage and
Warrior getting worked over, and they show a split screen again in the dressing
room. Here we go, You ready, Yes, I wonder, mister
Flair, what your preacher? Who will win the match? Okay, mister
Flair, by the way, whatever he called people, mister I just fucking
killed me. Do you care? Hey, doesn't matter, We don't care.
Oh, we know that they'll put maniacs. Make it out of here.
Holla tonight next week they gotta lively learn how to survive. Oh,
yeah, make cheap buik. We already proved if we want to go,
could we just take The bottom line is Ultimate Maniacs you may become champions tonight,
but Survivor Series you will not survive. My two men. We'll see
to it that somebody gets hurt. Yeah, they just like right in the
middle of the match, they split screen and have a promo. I mean
again to me that this is so much shit going on at the same time,
trying to squeeze in so much information. It's unreal. Yeah, how
much like really happens in the hour of television. It's crazy, It's great
bonkers because this is all all this stuff is like they're planned, uh crammed,
to say nothing of the unplanned cramming in when they realize they don't have
Warrior anymore exactly, And there's mostly a sleeper hold and Ultimate Warrior during the
course of this. So yeah, I don't know if they're really strategic about
calling for a sleeper in the match so that they could do the insect promo
there, or if they just found a spot they probably it's probably what they
did. I would imagine he DBS snatches the million Dollar Dream and applies that
and Savage comes into the jumping need Debs's back to break the hold. He
didn't wants him disqualified for that, however, events though, he says he
has to agree with the Heenan's call there. He says the official was right
from the get go, has been confused in this matchup and has yet to
take control as he should have from the top. So some criticism there towards
my kyoto from one iron man. I guess, I guess Adibi Whip's warrior.
Warrior ducks and clothes lines and they both go down, both members of
Money Incorporated. The Warrior is like about to kip up or something as he
hits the canvas. They're crawling now and both make their respective tags. We
get Savage and we get Irs Savage in full body suit. By the way,
this is definitely the shirt wearing. Is this is ninety two? Well,
this is this is pretty much from late ninety one until until he would
leave, until he went to WW to do he'd wear the shirt which is
you know, it's funny, this is the rate. I know everybody.
It's a very bizarre thing for me as a fan, because everybody for the
most part loves eighties Randy Savage with orange tights with the stars orange tights or
the whatever with the stars and the things. I can't I'm not a fan.
Wow, this is the Rainy Savage that I like. Wow. Yep,
yeah, this is what I grew I mean, this is the Rainy
Savage I grew up on. Is the one that trying to the full right,
the full outfit with the outlandish colors and designs and all that shit.
This is This is the Randy Savage that I prefer. Well, the Randy
Savage that electrified me was the one that rolled up Flare and wrestling the eate
and they were a full bodysuit, full bodysuit, so there wasn't a problem.
Nope, it wasn't a problem, not at all. Savage with the
jabs, whipping a back body drop and a falling lariat puts down Dibiassi,
taking on both numbers of money ink by himself. Here a Savage Warrior comes
in, leaning over the rope, pumping a fist. Savage with a slam,
climbs the ropes and scores with an elbow. Dbissi breaks up the cover.
Warrior comes in Pier four brawl but breaks out Warrior with the big bolos
swinging everywhere. Uh, such a nut. He's such a fucking loose Candy
S's a live wire, he is. And he rams Teddy Biossi into the
corner, and then Randy Savage does the same to Irs Warrior, then slams
the buckles and shakes the ropes and he closelines ring and hits an atomic drop
and I r s takes it up and over the top to the floor.
Warriors screaming into the hard camera, leaning to bro Finally, well we got
the elbow. He goes for the elbow or did you say that? Did
I make Did I miss that? Yeah? Yeah, he hit the elbow
right. Oh yeah, he's here. We got this whole thing. Hold
up, part about Tom channel I got about TVs are coming in. That's
not fair, that's unfair, spamming Savage creament. You didn't say that was
unfair. No worry, Oh god, I guess as Conny last. Come
tell no referee cannot control this back. You've got to have two or three
referees if you want to be fair. Of it's so oh and you think
of them doing this in post He's screaming like this in a studio in Stanford.
Yeah, exactly. It's really incredible when you think about how well they
were able to put together the commentary for shows like this when when they weren't
live, they were they like you said, they it was all posts.
It's all like watching it in a fucking booth and reacting to it and doing
the same for Colise and videos and all that. Yeah. So yeah,
all of a sudden, Jamie Heart's like fuck this. He grabs a briefcase
in the belts and takes off then and I don't know that was an option
all this time. You wonder why they did all that fighting if they just
planned on walking out anyway. Well, I think they want to try to
win, see, to upset the fans, and then they're like when they
realize they can't beat them, they're like, fucking this guy out here.
And in nine minutes and fifty four seconds, Lightning Fast Yeap, the Ultimate
Maniac's Warrior and Savage defeat money Inc by count out. So they do not
become tag team champions, but they do get their hands raised to a round
of cheers fans till willing cheer count out or DQ victories back then and then
Warriorm Savage take up off the aisle, and I was really hoping they'd win.
Oh yeah, that would be a sit. I was really hoping it'll
change. Yeah, what's the problem. I guess maybe if they had an
inkling that they were about to do something a Warrior, they weren't going to
do it. But I mean that'd be that's just that's better than having money
ink with the belts back then. I mean, it's so weird, like
they they kept and when you think about it, they kept the belt on
money in for another six months more than that seven months they did. In
fact, Warrior is a tag team champion. I know, you know back
then to you know, there was a I don't I don't know if there
was ever any real there was there. There seemed to be such rules in
terms of the championships at the back then, you know they're there. There
just seemed to be rules that you know, you you you never had up
until nineteen ninety five. You never had a a like a wrestler win the
Intercontinental Championship three times. It was always twice twice, was it? You
know? I would hope that they would change it every now and again,
but they never did until Uh was it Razor Ramone who did it the first
time? Sounds right maybe or Sean Michaels. I don't remember which one it
was. Someone in ninety five did it, And you know that just never
happened. You know, maybe prior maybe back back in like the pre Hogan
days, stuff like that happened, but it just didn't happen in that in
starting in in eighty four and going up until ninety five, like people just
didn't win even even the world title outside of Hulk Hogan. Everybody else won
it twice. That was it. Wow, nobody want it more than twice
until Brett Hart did in ninety five when he beat Diesel. Yeah that was
kind of jarring. Yeahick Waite, it is back on him now. Yeah,
Like it was kind of weird, Like I remember that that match,
like it it seemed fitting that he was going to win, But at the
same time, I was like, but wait a minute, nobody ever wins
it three times, so how can he win it so much? You know,
there was weird logic and the same thing, like I really really wanted
to see Warrior and Savage when but they weren't tagged that Like that just never
was their thing. They couldn't get it. It was it was kind of
like I with Hogan and Beefcake the WrestleMania was like, yeah, I really
want it to happen, but I don't think it's going to happen. Yep,
you know, and it didn't. And it's just like they just again
I don't know if they actually had these rules, but there was enough.
There was enough stuff that happened to make me think there were rules. Yes,
And you could also only win tag team championships three times. Demolitions set
that standard the three times and that was it maximum amount of times you can
win tag titles three times up until you know, the nineties, mid to
late nineties. You know, like there was just a there was a limit
to things, and it was like, you know, if you didn't if
you went beyond that, then you just can't do that. That's just not
allowed except for certain people. Again, Hulk Hogan the major exception, five
time world champion, but new three that's okay. Yes, So they all
catch up to money inco the Isleway and brawl near the ww F logo and
as they're brawling, Razor Romone comes out in blind size Randy Savage and then
Flair comes out and he's there. He's in trunks, putting the boots to
the opposition. Hennig is out there throwing bolos too, getting some stiff rights
in there. As a matter of fact, you have Heenan in the announced
boots screaming get him, get him, get him. Yep. And of
course this is a mission to soften him up for the Survivor series, the
match which is no longer happening. Right. You see Pat Patterson, Renee
Gulai, Earl Hebner, Ray Stevens, Slaughter all in there trying to create
separation as wwfish. Race Stevens was there too. I caught a glimpse of
race Stevens. Well that's thirteen men I didn't count. Yeah, he's gone
shit a warrior. Chance's reacting for him, Vince says up next in a
classic you know what that means. Although he wasn't wrong, that was a
good match, sewn Michaels first, I mean, you can the thing is
though it's different though you can say it because it was. The commentary was
recorded after the Yeah, jinxing it. You know what you're about to see
it chinking exactly now before they go to commercial, they pitch for a music
video about our new WWF champion, Brett Hart. Yes, but on the
Peacock version the video does not exist. I remember the video though, I
do too. It is to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Yep, ye
making some noise. I was making some noise or something like that. There
was one there was one clip that I always remember, yes, always remember,
and it's from Summer so many too, and it's when he goes for
uh uh, Brett goes for a crucifix, but then Bulldog hits the simoon
and drop instead and the ribs he hurts the ribs of Brett Hart. Right.
I just always remember that that clip, and they show that it's like
illustrating his heart and everything right exactly, that he's just her guts, you
know, he'll he'll work harder than everybody else. And they played this video
on all the syndicated shows as well. Yep, they played it over and
over again. They played it on Primetime and announcing that he'd won the belt.
It's just basically like, you know, him working hard as a singles
guy over the years, Yeah, wrestling the eclips against Piper in there,
stuff like that, him being perfect for the belt him. They even do
these like weird reenactments in the basement with stew and two kids. They cast
to the Owen and Brett presumably yeah, like a flashback moment where they're like,
you know, learning to roll in the basement, so wild. But
the lyrics are when I was a young boy, I was working for the
state. I wasn't making much money. I was staying out late. I'd
go down at night time, playing music in the bars, take my breaks
out underneath the stars. I was making some noise. I was a working
boy. That's that's the song for Brett. Now he was He's a working
boy in the dungeon. But that that aired that night on Fox. But
it does not appear in the Peacock version because it has a licensed song over
it. Presumably God forbid we spend money on the fucking music. So we
come back with Sean Michaels and there flexing his bicep with that s tattoo with
the sword throughat that he used to have, Yeah, the hard tattoo whatever
it was. Well, the snake is, yes, the serpent of sorts,
hurry out there of course was mentioned the angle. It already happened,
So that already happened. I always thought that happened. I always see.
This is where I get confused. I thought the angle happened after Survivor series.
Well, yeah, it seems like the Marty Sean thing really kicks into
a gear after Survivor. Yeah, that's why I always thought that. That's
why I thought the Sherry thing happened. But they talk about I mean,
they talk about Sherry being hit. They do, oh, they do.
Yeah. And I watched some of the syndicated shows ahead of this and they
definitely show the angle, So yeah, it already happened. I think this
is one of those where Marty fucks up and gets arrested or something, and
they they abort the Marty Seawan's thing coming in a Survivor series. H and
and then okay, pick it back because he's like or something. Something happens
where they're they're they're in the clear to welcome him back. You got a
fight at the bar. I forget what it was. There's some crazy,
fucking only Marty Jeannetti's world story, I know, like it's so I I
wanted him to be so much better and to be so much more of a
presence than he ever was. This is Marty, Marty that he was going
to be the bigger star of the two. Yeah, I always thought he
would be. I always wanted him to be, to be, you know,
to beat Sean Michaels and really take that. You know, I always
thought it was a matter of time. I always thought it was a matter
of time, and it just never happened. And it did happen in a
way that was, like we talked about it on Dark Side of the Ring
unheard. It almost happened because Sean fucked up as bad as Marty did,
right, you know, that's the only reason he was as high as anybody
else, according to Marty, at least so A Bulldog's music hits, Vince
calls him a great Intercontinental champion and this would in fact be his final appearance
as such, and calls the Summer Slam before eighty thousand fans. It's really
remarkable how much of a career capping moment, like a one of a kind
star making night. Yep, and he's just ye within done, two months,
Yep, he's done. Fuck off. He didn't calls Bulldog a Maggie
Mutt Main Mangy Mangie Mutt. Vince compares the He compares what we're going to
see in this match versus what we saw in the first match. Right now,
you're likely to see a classic wrestling encounter totally different than the first match
Jim de Wi saw. There was more of a raw pump stumph, growling
type of an affair. Oh my god, a romp'em stomp him type
of affair. He's establishing themes, is what he's doing. Indeed, indeed
he's establishing a base of of of different variety of match bookage. Heenan who
is always so great at singing, Seawn Michael's praises, Oh yes, and
playing into the Shawn Michaels has left of building stuff, says that HBKA had
told him he's going to take their continental title and going straight to Summer Slam
as Inner Continental Champ against Brett Heart as World Champion Survivor Series, Survivor Series,
Thank You Champion versus Champion, assuming Brett gets by Papa Shango. So
there's a bit of a pause there where he realizes that he's going full tilt
promoting Brett versus Sean. Yep, but they're still a pop Shungle match to
come. Well, they still could have the match, it just couldn't.
They might not have a title versus title. They could have had the match
anyway because it was scheduled before. Remember I read from the magazine, so
they weren't even acknowledging the championship in the magazine lock up and British Bulldog pushes
off Sewn, who goes head over heels and he does it again to get
the strength advantage of Bulldog over in the opening moments, and Bobby he and
Sys David boy Smith is definitely not going it's not too bright a person,
That's what he says he's not and says he's beat the best in the world.
So it's just bread the hit Man heart. So you're saying, when
Sewn beats Brett Hart Hitman should be a piece of cake then, because I
got this for you, because it's good to hear this one up, I
sat he beat that past, that past of the hit Man prat heart.
So you're saying that when Sean Michaels beats the Bulldog the hit Man at Survivor
series should be a piece of cake. I'm not gonna say anyone in the
w W was a piss of exactly. You don't have to say it.
I said it already. Someone say a piece of cake, Mark Henry says,
but a lot of guys in the backup Earthquake was I I want,
I want to I want to surface this one because I know not everybody listening
to the show listens to the live calls or has access to them. But
I was very proud of this, wondering the Bronze and Reid match, where
I just like started talking to Boss about how you know, Bronson Read's been
doing really well. He has been on an enormous role, much like his
lunch. I just I don't know. I walked around all weekend excited to
deliver that one, and so I thought I'd share it with a wider audience
as well. Here, I know we can go up with ones about you
know, those little, those little sly ones about food. It's really it's
fucking it makes me happy. And and you know what, and you know
what, I remember, you know, someone I read to think I read
the one of one of the very very critical iTunes reviews, and they were
they were they were trashing us for making fun of fat guys who eat a
lot of food and I'm sorry, you know what, it's hilarious. I
don't care what you say. You know, I'm listen. I'm a fat
guy who likes to eat, so I feel I have every right to make
fun of other fat guys who clearly like to eat. And I enjoy it.
It makes me laugh. It makes me laugh thinking that these guys are
just so. I mean, their appetites are problematic, you know, they're
there, their appetites, they're hunger causes other people suffering. I'm okay with
that, and I'm okay with that, and I'm okay to laugh at that,
and I don't care what you say. Fat guys needing food, fat
guys fucking peering their heads behind the wrestling the gorilla curtain. Because Bobby Heenan
says, piece of cake, that's funny to me. I mean, look,
if it's not funny to you, I respect that, But I lease
find another podcast to listen to as soon as possible, as soon as possible,
because or recognize that your opinion is wrong and that you know you need
to open your mind. That would be nice, But I'm not going to
hold out hope. I don't hold lot of hope. I hold out reality
to it, centering shoulder collision between the two and then shown with a baseball
slide and comes up with the right hand shoulder pork shoulder collision. Vince calls
out the clenched fist, you said, dregs, Shawn Michael, no problem,
Warrior was throwing clothes. It's like you might as well, you know,
fucking put put giant like sandbags on war your hands. He's fucking throwing
those things, you know, but God forbid Sewn Michael's punch a guy when
you're whipping on that Whoopie Goldberg? Care do you can do whatever you want?
Brother Sewan then tries a hiplock, no I voke and then a backflip
hiptos and he drops down into a short arm scissors because you know, Sean
is nothing if not a guy who can shame together base Listen. He went
listen, listen, He went to I T. T Tech Right, all
right. He is an in ring technician. He is a tactical expert.
He studied, you know, he studied under the military for his d army
man. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Well there you go, he he
he understands. Well, he's even better he's a he's an aerialist as well.
Absolutely, he's a he's a technical. Uh what do you think he
learned to fight in the sky? Right? Well? I thought that was
just because he was high all the time. Yeah, exactly. Well,
look, Sean's not just gonna hip toss. He's going to fall down with
the hiptos and apply to the cool block in transition and exactly as you should.
And those who don't do that, they're the problem. This is where
Vince references that Sherry is still recovering. Ah, I mean hit by Jeannetti.
H David boy Smith stack Sean and tries to kind of deadlift him like
Backland used to do, and a guy put him in a key lab and
a fight. He fails a couple of times, but finally he hoists Sean
from the canvas with his arm entrapped all the way up to the shoulders and
drops him. That's a big reaction. How high do you think Bulldog was
at this point for this matter? Oh my god, there's no talent I
think he do you think he fucking knew what was going on? Do you
think he knew he was gonna lose? Yeah? You think he Well,
I'm saying in the match, you know, he didn't know he was going
to win, Fucking Brett Hart, he didn't know he won. He also
high that he forgets. Yeah, did I win? Yeah? He does,
he does wonder. I don't know. I think I think he's I
think he's okay, mister heartbreak. What it's just one small problem. There's
eighty thousand people out there, and I'm high there's one problem, mister heartbreak.
I don't know, right, I don't know. Did you did I
I don't I don't know, but I think maybe it's both. Are you
hanging on a clothes right now? Wow? Ah ah, of course,
mister heartbreak, mister heartbreak, I'm swimming in sauce. Oh shit, Worcester,
sure, what who's the shoe? Worster mine, Worster Sure, I'll
go there. Who's the shore? I need to put it up? Oh
ship, he's fine. I don't know. What is this alarm about this
guy's health? Like he's ready to go out there. I'm ready for a
full time match, no more or less, four stars, mister heartbreak,
mister heartbreak, mister kid, that's John Moltman or George Kid. Oh,
mister boy toy exactly, and the bite and the bite of the bolldog whipping
a gorilla press with a big delay from Davy boy. He pumps him up
a couple of times and then drops on her clothesline, goes the challenger during
the show. What's that so not the only thing he pumped up during the
show, He didn says, uh, if i'll hear the Bush thing,
yes, yes, well you know what Bush what a dump quail. But
the Buddla just dump Shawn Michaels and Pittmers is running make he don't want at
all. I don't know about that. I think you should stay out of
politics. Not watch part earlier on untaught. For I can't imagine President Push
is a stand up guy. That's why I didn't dump anyone. You this
nice president give me a brown No, No, I mean his president is
vice president? Yeah, I say, the fuck are they doing? He's
bizarre. But I love the idea of of of George Bush letting go of
Dan Quayle and then stepping his son and demoting himself to be vice president for
Bobby Heenan to take to be president. Truly amazing. That to me is
a great That's that's that's that's America right there, back in the ring now,
and Sean pops him of the right hand and a back elbow in the
corner corner of the corner whip, and Davy Boy slides under the kip up
of Seawan Michaels, but Sean picks an ankle. He turns it over and
then they do it twice and Davy Boy comes up with an arm drag to
a pop. And these people love him. They love Davy Boy Smith,
they do. Everyone did. He was there, you know, he was.
It was it was a shock. It was appalling that Shawn Michaels won,
you know, won the belt. I don't know why Vince says this,
but he says, to you, what do you think this is basketball?
And then Keenan talks about Larry Canara and vinces Larry Bird all time great
here in Indiana State. Yeah, and he says, yeah, but he
quit to the corner we go when the reverse kip up, Davy Boy goes
underneath and tackles him down, and then Sean sidesteps Davy on the charge and
Davy hits the those golden blue mats on the outside of the ring, yes
sewn. Then starts on tying the turnbuckle pad uh and stomps a davy boy
to keep him at bay. That'll come into play later we take a break.
When we come back, Sean has the corner buckling loose. Vince says,
we haven't missed much at all. However, Sean the snapmar and some
stomps that. I'm sure they edited nothing out of the match to account.
No, yeah, you do, gonna have to exactly. Eden says,
if Sean I smell a champion. Hmmm, the camera shot of the buckle
lace is hanging loose, so Sean kept the covering on the on the corner
buckle, Yeah, you know, trying to trying to hide it from the
referee. Sean slaps on an abdominal stretch, which again, is that still
image I remember from the match totally da boy always go ahead. I was
gonna say Heenn gives a couple of suggestions for Sean while he's applying the hold
abdominal stretch. Even my damage to the end and the back, well,
well he's gotta hook that away and got a head put sights. I'm trying
to put a word from my mouth bow awesome words in my mouth fou only.
David Boy works to a hiptoss tocounter and gets out of the abdominal stretch,
but missus nelbow drop. Seawan covers for two. Sean stays on the
back with an axe handle. In some short shots, Vince keeps making an
issue about Sean using the clenched fist. Yeah, and Heton claps back about
how you have a five second rule. You're not disqualified just for breaking the
rules. You're disqualified after breaking them for five seconds. Don't you know anything
about the rules here? He barks again, exactly. Vince says, Davy
Boy has headed to Survivors Series to face the mountain, hyping up that fucking
that bulldog mounting match which never happens since there never was. Sean whips them
in and snatches the abdominal stretch and uh, Vince says, the who's yours
here in attendance? Yes, which you know is going to lead to just
hilarity. Who's yours here? Attendance here? Who's here? I didn't say
who's here? He just said who's here? Who's yours? I don't know
who's here? Who's here here? Grass Sean. Michael's continuing with the abdomino's
trash and time it suggest to you that John Michaels is really wondering what does
it tend to beat the bulldog. He's tired everything. Henny can't do it,
but he has led on points the hallway points. Guys, I have
a point, syste I'm judging this bike oh one hundred and eighty three,
though zip I don't say. His score is one hundred and eighty three to
zip Oh. So bro the Bobby Heen points system is just always one of
my favorite things. Yes, but he's a head on points. It's one
eighty three's John Michaels zero British Bulldog zero British Bulldog. None of the moves,
none of the moves that the British bulldog has done have qualified him to
earn a point. That's correct. So bulldog finally gets out of the abdominal
stretching into the hip toss and he waits for Sean to roll away and then
drops the elbows time, he doesn't immediately try to follow up the hip toss
with an elbow drop, because last time Sean rolled out of the way and
he hit his elbow on the mat. This time he fakes it. He
pump fakes it, yes, and then lands it very nice. I noticed
that subtlety, and they deserve credit for it. I do. He then
Sean face first when he drops down for a backdrop, and then Sean gets
whipped into the corner and goes inside out and run over by a massive lariat.
I mean, if you're going to hit the buckle like Sean did,
inside out, flip over land on your feet, turn around, there's only
one thing to do at that point, and that's you gotta yes, you
gotta be a fucking just waffled. And that's what happened by the bulldog.
The bulldog, Yeah, he was a He was a He was a master
of hitting a massive muscly pro like. It wasn't like a like a like
a Kobashi type clothesline or lariot, but he had it was a muscly type
and it was always great to watch I see him run over somebody because it
was so fast and his arms were so fucking big. You know, it
was like a like a like a Goldberg type thing, you know, like
a Goldberg spear. But for for for bulldog, it was a clothes line
and he just fucking he hammered it. Then he hooks up the catapult and
Vince says he thinks he's in London because he was sent so far, and
then another one and then a lary it h and the bulldog waits a moment
for covering. He gets to mean while the buckle pad is falling an off
that Shina loosened earlier, and Earl pretends not to see it, and then
Davy does an absolutely classic yes lift and delayed vertical. I mean, what
a thing of beauty this was. It's wonderful. Whatever I think of his
entrance music, ton tons on and just like that that moment, I just
picture like up up up, up up up like four holding just holding somebody
out. Thank you, you know, drop nobody, nobody did a delayed
soup soup like better than the bulldog. And he covers him and it gets
two and a half. It looks so devastating. They gets so much mileage
out of that move. And then Davy boy whips him into the exposed buckling,
but it's reversed and Davy sails huge as the ref pretends not to have
seen that the buckling was exposed. In Vince's that was the very same corner.
Yeah, you think, and it says it was it was not.
That was the one in the north corner that Sean loosened. Apparently these corners
have a compass directions to them. I love too that the h I love
that that hitting a metal hook right, you know, the round part of
a metal hook is so painful to the back. I know what am I
missing? If Sean just loosened the covering, isn't it the same thing as
if he didn't loosen it. It's still on top of the buckle. I
mean, well, yeah, he took the padding off. I don't remember.
It's exposed, exposed buckle like he he hit it for a while,
but now that it's fallen off, all the way he hit he hit clean
metal. But you know, it's like when you really it's to me,
it's no different than when people like, what are you do in slamming the
guy's head against the turnbuckle? You know, like it's a pillow, right,
and they're hitting a guy's head against a pillow, Like, how is
that hurting anybody? It is weird how that became a thing in wrestling.
Yeah, you know, there there there are a lot of things that that
you know that really require suspension of disbelief that that you do, you know,
like you and and really it comes from it comes from the commentary of
it all. Like you know, you you you feel that the back must
have hurt hitting the the the round part of the of the hook, because
Vince and Bobby he didn't sell it like it hurts, right, you know.
And when the guys do something nonsensical, if the announcers call it,
like, you know, part of the standard technique that we're used to seeing
from wrestlers, it's like, all right, maybe that even though they look
ridiculous to the naked eye, maybe that there is some logic to it because
these announcers aren't ridiculing the guy for doing that. Right, So that another
whip is reversed, and then Sewan is Hammick then the corner and Davy Boy
punts him into the crotched position, Sean straddling the top strand and then Davy
Boy climbs all the way up and it's time for that super plex and he
goes for it, but Sean is able to dead weight him in the lift
and it's great the back psychology, right, Yes, it's well done.
Back was busted due to hitting the buckling and was compromised quite a bit even
before that. So Sean falls on top of Davy. He tries to superplex
him off the top lands in the cross body position. Davy just lays there
one, two, and three, and in ten minutes and twenty eight seconds,
Shawn Michaels defeats the British Bulldog to become Intercontinental Champion for the very first
time yep. And you know it was it was such a there was a
moment, you know that when they made that, when they made that announcement
in at the Garden the week before. I remember, you know, because
the thing about Sewn Michaels was that he was always gunning for the Intercontinental title
all yep, summer long, you know, and it was like he was
going after Brett Hart all summer, you know, after WrestleMania up until up
until SummerSlam, and then Michaels was going after the Bulldog. I remember there
were a lot of programs advertised for Michaels versus the Bulldog. You know,
Now all of a sudden, he wants you know, he doesn't care about
anything but the championship, and I was like he was like, oh,
look, he's just going to keep on going for it. And then when
he got it, it was like, oh shit, like he actually did,
Like he's not supposed to win it. Wow, he's supposed to always
go for it. And that serendipity. I mean, did we not just
talk about Shawn and Davey in ninety six? I know exactly in this one
lends right in our laps. What that? Yep? It is remarkable and
you here Heenan go yes, yes, yes, celebrating tremendously. Yeah.
And all I could think of was how great it would have been if Heenan
was on the call for Sean's heel exploits. Think about Heenan calling the WrestleMania
ten Ladder, Oh, I would have loved it. I'm having a heart
attack on behalf of Seawan Yep, yep. But added a whole new mention
to the match, a new intermental champion, which was set against a black
strap at the time. By the way, what about the black strap should
always be that? I love that that belt, that strap, That's the
way it should be. Got it? Heenan says, Oh, is Survivor's
series going to be something? Sean stumbling around in agony trying to celebrate,
and Heenan says, it just goes to show you can have all the muscles
in the world. It's not going to do any good. That's interesting timing
on that remark. HBK poses with the belt and we get a replay and
then Davy Boy. You see how how well Davy Boy did in selling his
back giving out on the super Plex. Yeah, we end that piece of
business. We go to the locker room where means she Oakland is with Rick
Flair and Razor Ramona, Kurt Headig indeed and Flair freaks out here. Here,
here we go, here we go. Look at it like this once
again. The Rumson Federation Championship. There's the funco point got newly crowned in
a continental champion sewn Michaels versus the WWF Bred Hut Champion versus champion boys.
Remember this, whichever one of you survives, the Big Daddy will be waiting.
All right, that's the perfect speaking of champions. What's wrong? Maniacs
having a bad day, having a bad time day. I remember from the
SummerSlam, these two ego maniacs tried to jealous a team. Oh whoa whoa
wait a minute, mister perfect I recall at that time there was tremendous conjecture
as to whose corner you were gonna be in at Summer Slam. As a
matter of fact, you and Ray Claire intentionally disrupted that entire exclam exactly.
Now you know how easy it is to confuse these guys. The maniacs.
The name fits you right. You guys are a way out there. Raise
a ramon your thoughts. Kya day man who cares about bad days, good
days, Sommer Slam. Let's talk about what just happened. Fight in the
street, fighting in the aisles, fighting in the ring, raisor ramon,
don't care as long as you get to fight somebody and maniacs. There's plenty
more where that comes from. Brick Clair, you are smiling. Get a
whim. He the Survivor series. It's not how about winning and losing.
It's not about making it out of that filling and one pace and boys,
it's coming. Somebody's gonna get hurt. Okay, what's why? Hi?
What I gonna call my cable provider? Right now? Flaire's talking me into
another one. Oh my god, I canna get the Brett logo and the
Shondo logo against Cheery as we pitched a break. When come back, Shango's
music hitting and he's stepping out with the Smoking Skull, the original smoking Skull
here. That's right good, Yeah, and they're showing all the nervous kids
they get those tight shots. Oh. It's called him a three hundred pund
voodoo Man because it's not about size. He's voodoo Man. Back stage are
newly minted WWF champion breat the Hit, Ben Hardes and Gene Okerland. He's
going to talk about his dad. You know, my father was one of
the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. And I come from a real big
family. I got seven brothers, you know, and ever since I was
like this tall, he's been taking all me and my brothers down in the
basement. We got a little room down there. We call it the Dungeon
brother going on down there, dude, this little wrestling matt down there,
and he's taught us wrestling. He's taught us how to be tough. He's
made his fight. And I learned hold after hold after hold, and I
learned to never quit. And I took all that knowledge and you know,
it was my big dream to find myself in the World Wrestling Federation eight years
ago. And before I worked hard enough, and I dug in and I
dedicated myself. I found myself co holder of the tag team titles. And
you know, whether you win or lose isn't important because you keep learning.
You learn from every single match, and you learn from every single opponent.
You know, it was a big dream for me to find myself the Intercontinental
Champion. I never thought I'd get higher than that. But as I stand
before you right now, I am the World Wrestling Federation Champion. This,
this is a dream come true. And Papa Shano, Papa Shano, He's
not gonna take it away from me, all right? Are you good?
You said it? Brett. When he says I never thought I get higher
than that, he was pointing at Davy Boy Smith. I did. I
did notice that myself. Jean says, he exemplifies determination. Tonight, will
Shango makes brett dreams come true? Come true? Or turn it into a
nightmare? Vince back to you, so he gets smoke like crazy in the
corner where Shango rests his fucking voodoo tools and Vincent that Baba Shanko continues to
cast a spell over this capacity crowd. Red Hard steps out Network TV World
champ shades, Yep, still the Heart Foundation theme. We don't have the
guitar. Gang gang Gang Gang Gang Gang gang Gang Kang Dangan Dan Dan dan
dang. Yep, No, it is weird here. It is weird to
not have exactly. Yeah, Brett's the bonafide made man. That's the theme
he's got to be coming out to. Yeah, it does bother me that
he was WWF World Champion and still had that Heart Foundation theme, but he
would come ninety with the tassels and the pink shoulder Kinney four is anenty four
that he did that? Yeah he got that. Yeah, I think it
was ninety four five somewhere around there. Jacket down to the crook of his
elbow. Thank you very much, because this is Brett Hart after all.
Yes, yes, Heena notes that Brett got right in there and didn't look
intimidated whatsoever by Papa Shanka. He's gotta wear his jacket over his shoulders like
he's a fucking high school girl in the Vin says he's been a fighting chance
at this point, taking on all comers. We cut to women excited to
see Brett Hart and Vince's the ladies like what they see as well, ah,
and hen says that's because they're looking over here at me. Yes.
Indeed, Ruffrey Bilofonso of all people presiding, Wow, hands over the belt
and Brett hits the floor, shares some shades with the youngster, and Heenan
says, look at this big red box here, and all of a sudden
there's a commotion in the announced booth. Heenan is making reference to a package
having been delivered to him. Now we don't see it, but we do
hear that Heenan has now come into possession a bit. Apparently a production assistant
had been said to deliver this box to Bobby Heenan, and he's asking Vince
can I open it now? And Vince says no. So they're creating some
suspense here, boss, but it never pans out. And never, Yeah,
what is that fucking the seven with Brad Pitt? I don't know what
it is because he ends up never a phone call on the Survivor series shake
up exactly like you. Never. I don't know if it ever pans out
on regular television or not. It's almost like a way that they came up
with some device to keep people tuned in after Brett schang, Oh that's a
good call. I bet you're right. I bet you're right. But it's
still it should have paid it off, you know. The box should have
contained something that had to do with the Survivor series main event changing or something
like that. Yeah, WWF title on the line. It's a main event
time for this addition of Saturday. It's main event, the final one of
When It Mattered. Brett versus Papa sh Shango clubs on him early and works
over in the corner Conor corner, Irish whip is reversed and Shango hits the
buckling a hit man, actually hits a monkey flip on the three hundred pounder.
Look at that getting technical early and go Shanano coming at Shango and an
anger he's not accustomed to. Yeah, I can't do it like like,
but that as as you talked about under the cinemat, that was a huge
requisite for him getting the job was to laugh yep, as done in the
film right hand and runs him off into the ropes and Vince says he can
use fisticuffs. Ladies and gentlemen so that's fine. Uh, then Brett hits
the ropes, does a cross body and drops him. Why can he use
fisticuffs and nobody else? I don't know, I don't know. He's throw
it close, fisting all over the place. So Brett hits the ropes,
throws a cross body block that drops Papa Shango. But when Shango kicks out,
it's with such force that Brett hits the floor, which is a great
way to get him with the powerhouse. Yes, I agree, showing tremendous
valor, does a baseball slide back into Shango, roars at him. Shanga
did a very effective roar in the body of the match itself. Yes,
a very creaky sound. He was. He was very good like it was.
It was a very he He came across like a monster that's in and
not in a way that normal wrestler monsters do like. He was very very
he felt he felt authentically not safe, not safe when he came out at
Wrestling the eight. It was it was anxiety provoking. Yeah, I mean
he runs very like the slow run with the mouth a gap y. Yes,
oh my god, it's figured me out right, not a rig of
that. It was a fact that what like, what's he going to do?
Like who's he touching? You know? Geez so an inverted atomic drop
at the hit Man and then he closed lines Papa Schango three sixty over the
top to the floor. Breath then comes over with a Pascado dive because it's
about work rate, and when it's about work rate, we take flight.
That's your damn right. So the Hitman does leveling right Papa Shango on the
floor and they go to a break. They come back and uh heen,
and you can hear unwrapping something in the announced booth and they're making reference to
that, and he Evince continues to intrady him to put that off to the
side until the matches over. Brett hits the corner Stirnham first, and a
hard Irish whip by Papa Shango into the corner goes Brett. Shango thrusts the
throat and hit Man is loopy but fires back to the gut. Hit Man
was very intentional about attacking the stomach and the avess of Shango and not the
head. I wonder why, yes, Well, back then, you know,
he was very much about like especially with his punching. He was very
very he he in like ninety one ninety two. If you ever notice,
I remember this, you know, his the majority of his fists would go
to the ribs. Yeah, that's a true gut you know. And then
occasionally he do the head and then he would start focusing on the head and
rarely doing the gut punches. But I remember, like I was like,
oh wow, he always goes for the gut, Brett hard He always like
fucking does those wide, wide, throwing fucking fist to the gut. Well,
so he hits the ropes and jumps right into the bare hug of Shango
get it bare, which is of course h Charles Writess nickname in the locker
room, Brett has to bite to get free, did what he had to
do. He then, of course pounces on Brett breaking the rules. There
of course goes there's a good scientific move, and Vince's sometimes you have to
fight fire with fire. Yes, Abashango clubs Brett behind the head and Vince's
hitmen. Unquestionably, he's the most scientifically oriented WWF champion of all time.
Here here he is talking about scientific orientation. The head man crush play them
all scientifically oriented world rustic Butterbah tamping them all time. But we're not saying
about that science here. No, he's bining. In fact, no,
he's biting. Back then. Back then was scientifically oriented, I know exactly,
even more so than Brett. I would argue he was a science major.
Whipping back elbow, drops bread heart Papashango with some stm stomps and a
head butt to the crotch and then a goozle and he lives and drops a
bread hard hard to the canvas and then clutches the trapezist because you know that
hurts. Of course you gotta work that, Yeah, work the traps.
Vince recalls it. Prior to tonight, Shango allegedly put a curse on Brett
Hart and perhaps that's paying off tonight and says he lost the intercontinental title and
maybe now this curve is going to go full tilt as Bread comes back up
with back elbows to break hits the ropes and Papa Shango moseem down with a
hard clothes line and here we go. Heenen says, the hecks is being
put on. They didn't really I mean they they you know, they didn't
really make a big I mean, I don't remember how much they they hyped
up this match prior to the to the to the show, but they didn't
really not at all play up the the the curse thing like that, go
supernatural for the breath, That's what he's trying to say in this book about
it. Well, I don't think he goes supernatural. But they could have.
They could have played up the fact that there was a curse put on
and they may, you know, because they they did make reference to that
being the reason why he lost or could have been a factor as to why
he lost to the Bulldog. Yeah, you know, like they could have
played that up a little bit leading up to this, not necessarily go all
out with the goo and the vomit, but at least, you know,
maybe play up some ideas that that he's not one hundred percent and it may
not be his fault. That's interesting. Yeah, yeah, they didn't do
that, but you wonder if they had plans to do that and they realize,
oh shit, we gotta put the world title on this guy. Fuck
the Papashanko storyline. You know, man, I'm with you, except they
have a match, you know, do but it's a low off. It's
like a right the body of the match. They could have made a lot
more about it, not necessarily like even doing like back and forth things and
maybe discussing you know, hey, you know he's got that match from his
main event. You know, but Papashanko did put on that hex Hex's are
gone. It'll been nice. Yeah, they hardly mention it. They only
had like two weeks though. It's that's what's crazy now, I know the
time they tape it. Breck comes back up with some elbows to break the
hold, hits the ropes, leaps up over in a sunset flip at Shango
swings his arms back in a position, tries to punch Brett, but misses
and hits the canvas instead. Brett then lifts the foot on the corner charge
of Shango and kicks him in the face. And then he jumps on Papashanko's
back and Shongo runs him in the corner and fucking kills him. He does.
He fucking destroys. He drops an elbow drop and then leaps with another
elbow and starts making the faces and the noises that Papa Shanko used to do.
It is Shango and he leaps for that awkward elbow but does not get
it. Yeah, you know you can't. You can't do moves that you
don't do, I mean right normally. You know, we know where they're
gonna miss. We know they're gonna miss. What is he going that one
time? Except for that one time Brett Hart missed, you know, hit
that elbow that weird fat flat back one. There was one time he hit
it, amazing Ye. Brett goes to the gut whip and punches the gut
again and then he hooks the side Russian lake sweep that gets to another right
hand and a weapon. A backdrop gets a shan go up and over that
gets to Brett goes to the middle rope in verted and leaps with the lariat
that cuts down Shango that gets to Yep yep, back up corner to corner.
Whip is reversed and cling goes. Brett into the corner buckling, but
he sides steps and Shanko takes the buckle as well and collapses with his legs
kind of hanging up in the air. Brett then snatches the opportunity, pulls
Shango out of the corner, hooks the sharp shooter and turns him over then
say guess yes, heenan screaming, don't give up. It's all you've you
know, it's all yours if you don't give up. But finally hit men
yanks back, pulls back with yep. That tremendous strain he was able to
show in his face, and Bill a Fonso registers the tap, and uh
registers the submission and calls for the bell, and in thirteen minutes and twenty
six seconds, Bretttheart to submit Sapa Shango with the sharpshooter to retain the WWF
Championship in the final Saturday Night's Main Event as we knew it and the final
Saturday Night's Main Event Main Event, as we mean. That's right. That
match was way better than any right to be. And that's all because of
Bretttheart. Oh clearly, so fucking amazing. Did a great job framing Brett
is the valiant champion. You know you kind of like, okay, this
is what Brett hardist champion means. I can get behind this. Yep,
Yeah, and I and I did. That was all about it. That
was all about it. Here's a here's been celebrating the big win. Red
Art successful in his first, don't work. Yeah, that works. Network
title difference first and only. By the way, Yeah right, that think
that's a thing. By the way, when the champion hardly ever defended the
bell on Saturday time, I know, I know. No, that's not
true. They had it all the time, brother, in the early Hogan
days they did, that's true, but not in the Yeah, I guess
not as much like a tired Dade thing in ninety in ninety ninety, it
was in ninety one. It was it was that one. That's only one.
But I'm thinking of like the Genius match was you know, all that
stuff and all the other stuff they put out there. Yeah, there were
a few, but there were a lot of title matches too, because it
was you know, you'd see Hogan. That's when you see Hogan defend the
belt. Wow. So well, yep, the pig celebration here on Saturday's
main event for the Hitman brain Scan and the Sharpshooter. He writes Champ,
brother, and it's like drawing lines to describe what the Sharpshooter means, and
accidentally ends up writing the word Champ on the screen. Oh my god,
that's funny. And that's that and then why go to break come back Dong
the funeral parlor with green lighting and candles and smoke, and Paul Bear with
a microphone and an urn welcomes us to the funeral parlor and he says it's
no secret that his Undertaker has been very busy of late constructing a very special
casket for his upcoming opponent Kamala. There we go. They show him doing
the wood fire. You look at that, all this shit that they're doing,
I mean, the the only I mean, there are a few matches
they don't really build up on on I'm the starviceeries, but not many.
You know, they really hit most of the heavy hitters. The only one
they miss is really is boss Man match. Right, Err says, no
doubt in my mind Taker will defeat the Gun and John and Thanksgiving Eve.
Let's not forget that tradition was still alive and well in nineteen ninety two.
Yeah, then, and we will be able to enjoy watching him stuff Kamala's
battered corpse into the coffin for eternity. That's right, in a coffin match.
Everyone knows the fear Kamala has for my Undertaker. He gets the wide
eyes his Taker sat up, and all you have to do is looking at
Kamala's eyes and see the fear of darkness, death itself. And now,
my friends, let's take a look into the eyes of the grim bab.
What about looking in what about looking in the eyes of seeing punk? What
do you see? Well, I don't know. I think I see I
see a beef sandwich. So Paul bur says it's time to hoist to time
to see into the eyes and the Undertaker, And he hoists the urn and
a door of a castle that creaks open with an overly done Halloween sound effect,
and there's a pop, and Taker steps out, drawn low, with
the hat drawn low and the gray gloves and tie. Yes, it's weird
that he's being interviewed on his own fucking Soapi sar, that's his guest.
Yeah, like it's his own guy. Like that's weird. But Gamala here
here, I got it for you. Gamala, there's me to fear the
journey that awaits you. There's been many unfortunate souls that have made this journey,
and just like all the rest, you will suffer the same fate as
the worms, the maggots and the larvae. Take turns feasting on your rotting
carcass. There will only be one thing left for me to take, Kamala,
and that is your soul. Rest in peace, Kamala. Well he
is as we speak. Indeed, that is true. He is. He
is very late of this world. And we hear Vince suddenly scream to Heena,
leave that box alone. We'll open it when we return. And when
we do, Genus backstage with Brett. Yeah, Brett comes with us with
the title and hoists it. There, it is there, it is okay,
and here we go. This is great, this is this is a
I remember this moment very well because they talk about like they I beat the
man who beat you a bit, but here this is the drinking game for
I got news for you, by the way. Yeah, oh my god.
Here, as you saw earlier tonight, some interesting developments that definitely will
affect you at the Survivor Series. In our Continental Champion, now, Shawn
Michaels, that means it's gonna be champion versus champion when he meets you Thanksgiving
Eve. You know he said away continental champion in a continental champion. Hey,
he's not the man that came out here earlier tonight and made the promise
that he would become the Inner Continental champion. It was Seawn Michaels. He's
not the man that came out here tonight and told everybody that a Survivor series.
I'm gonna take what you think is rightfully. Hey, guys, please
want you to talk about him? Do something about it. I got aout
it. I don't know how good your memory is. Do you know who
I beat you night? Do you remember who I'd beat tonight? Let me
remind you a little bit, hit man. It was the British Bulldog.
You remember him? Huh? Do you remember him? That's the same guy
that humiliated you about eighty thousand people. Now, I got news for you.
It is nothing, nothing compared to what Shawn Michaels that's gonna do to
you that Survivor series. Get ready because you're not gonna have that. Hey,
you guys want to miss that one, Vince, Let's get back to
you. Wow, how story is that? Yeah? Think about Breton Sean.
Yeah, it's the first Breton Sean one on one main event on a
pay per view, like a dress rehearsal for the real shouting matches. They'd
go on to have Yeah, I mean only I mean they only had three
right, one on one on pay per view, Yeah, I think so.
Yeah, I mean, how ridiculous is it that the Sean Brett Sunny
Days you know at Loggerheads headed to Montreal. All is only five years after
this Breton show, I know, I know. And you think about two
thousand and nineteen was five years ago, and that does not sound nowhere Nera
is different. No, this was like the whole world had changed in five
years, unreal like you think about too, like the uh you know,
and it was it was in many ways the ultimate rubber match, right,
you know, because you had Montreal, because you had this win, you
know for Brett. Then Sean wins WrestleMania, and then you know whether those
four years or three and a half years later, and then eighteen months later
you have their their final, their final encounter wild and it's like, you
know, who's who's the best. And so we close with Vince and Heenan
against the green screen in the announced position and the red gift is down there
at the center of the screen in the foreground, but Heena's on the telephone.
He is indeed here here we go. We got the scoop, the
scoop to end all scoops. This is what happens as a result of all
that Warrior material reading earlier. Yep, thank you very much being Gene Auckerlin
and now Bobby hating him up in his gift. Would you get off the
phone please, We're we're back on the air. You're not gonna believe it.
I'm finding out right now the scoop I have is gonna shot the WWF.
What just I don't even care about that dumb gift? Yeah, okay,
I run this bind and story again again. We certainly hope you've enjoyed
the World Wrestling federrections. President Savage and Warrior as Survivor Series will not go
to the ring together as a team. What are you talking about? Which
one? What kind of a rule is this? One of them will have
a new partner for Survivor Series. You gotta tell me who one. I
gotta know now, and with that we sign off. Oh hold on,
we gotta we gotta go to the hopper. We gotta go to the hopper.
We can't just sign off right away from Saturday Nights Man event. Yes,
let's kay, here we go, Here we go anymore. Michael's bulldog
matches we haven't done. I don't think there are. I don't think there
