Episode 49 - The Talons of the Emperor pt 2 - The Sisters of Silence

The 40k Lorecast

On today’s episode, we dive into the Sisters of Silence. We start with an in depth dive into the Pariah gene. From there we talk about the mysterious rise of the sisters from the unification wars into the great crusade with the daughters of the Crow. We then talk about what a sister of silence is and how they function as an organization. We then move onto their growth during the great crusade and their “disappearance” after the fall of the emperor. We then close on their resurgence since the return of Guilliman.

[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Forty Kaylor cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Forty K. Lorcass with me, John Barzati and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_02]: This guy today's cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get anywhere I dive into the towns of the emperor with the focus on the sisters of silence.
[SPEAKER_01]: Scary people.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: As always, before we begin, let's please follow and comment in the cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: It helps us really is helping us reach a much wider audience.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody, like I might not see anything to you.
[SPEAKER_02]: It does help our algorithms a lot, which then makes us dreaming of services, pushes us to more people.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come in.
[SPEAKER_01]: It helps so much.
[SPEAKER_01]: I have the only way, but it just does.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, does because bots don't comment.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's why it's what happens is the software is able to look at like, oh, something, these eight thousand random accounts from the Korea, listen to you because you paid them to.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, on this episode, I'm going to ask for a comment and I want the comment to be a comment for the algorithm gods or just say, hey, this is really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or hey, it's not good.
[SPEAKER_02]: You guys are idiots.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise don't ruin it, John.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, you can write a negative comment.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just give us five stars.
[SPEAKER_01]: And join our discord and give us constructive criticism so that we can change the thing that you wanted to comment about.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we actually do have for those of you who like what we're doing.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have a discord.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know not everyone uses discord.
[SPEAKER_02]: Discord is kind of just a controlled message board.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's really well done.
[SPEAKER_02]: You've got little individual channels in there.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we have stuff in there so we can comment and we'll speed back on the cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can ask for more information about some of the episodes.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can, a big one people do is they request topics of coverage.
[SPEAKER_02]: So some of stuff we do are random ones.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I can't weapons of the Imperium, what makes a space Marine, this stuff all comes out of discord.
[SPEAKER_01]: To be honest with you, every single weapon episode we've done is because of people asking about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we follow that.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a hundred thousand episodes.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have to figure out what we're going to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: And on the honest nightlords had moved their way up the list because I keep getting can do nightlords episode and then my head I'm like I didn't actually have them written down like we first started this thing is like even the top twenty like they're now like so anyway yeah
[SPEAKER_02]: But also the nighthunter's novel.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: I really suggest the novels are just so good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone wants to do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're looking for a place to come in Iraq, ask more questions about lower jump in.
[SPEAKER_02]: I spend a lot of time in there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Brad is lurks on it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They create because he's an old man.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's an old person.
[SPEAKER_02]: He just stairs at the internet.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can't actually interact with it.
[SPEAKER_02]: How are you working?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You get this random, you know, a Bradley's bread, three, oh five, is your title?
[SPEAKER_02]: He's a thousand five.
[SPEAKER_02]: Three thousand five.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is anyone on how to open a PDF?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit later, but last night we did a YouTube episode and I couldn't figure out how to make it happen.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had to press this, you had to hit the start button.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_02]: We also, to help us with technology, have a link to our Patreon.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you like what we're doing and want to help us out, it's completely optional.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can jump into our Patreon where you can commit to giving us some money every month.
[SPEAKER_02]: We use that money for equipment for audio editing, et cetera.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you probably heard some improvements in the quality.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's because of our patrons.
[SPEAKER_02]: You guys have donated money.
[SPEAKER_02]: One of you did dictate how to do the dogs.
[SPEAKER_02]: The bulldog did get a whole big box of treats.
[SPEAKER_02]: She likes you a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, verified.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: She likes you a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: But for the rest of you who are contributing, it does help us a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: It helps just afford some of the stuff because it's just a labor of love and it's nice when it's not all my money.
[SPEAKER_02]: Could be my money if I had any money.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, here's how we can get mad, Brad some money.
[SPEAKER_02]: Brad is available for coaching.
[SPEAKER_02]: This has last been we was talking about Brad's and playing the game for over twenty five years and not just like playing it, playing it successfully for most of those twenty five years.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys,
[SPEAKER_02]: The cool thing about Brad, though, is what I will say, and I'm going to insult him now in a positive way.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you spend any time around Brad, you're always he's not a prodigy by any stretch of imagination.
[SPEAKER_02]: When it comes to when it comes to this type of stuff, it's just pretty evident he's not.
[SPEAKER_02]: Brad's got a forty cake because he's taken the time and really put the effort.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to find a grinder and I understand that.
[SPEAKER_01]: most people are grinders and I know that a little bit of preparation goes a really long way.
[SPEAKER_02]: He really understands the game.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's we can really, really, really great asset for you guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're looking for help within Forty Kay or new to the game and plan the game for a while, you welcome to do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to reach him,
[SPEAKER_01]: Old man, Brad, Forty Kay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Gmail.com.
[SPEAKER_02]: At some point, he's going to make a website.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I realized that we're at episode forty nine.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not going to re-edit them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I have once you make a website to be made right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Once you make a website, you're going to have fifty something episodes of people trying to email you off of your fault.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, sisters of silence.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so let's talk about the sister of the silent.
[SPEAKER_02]: So before we jump into them, sisters are kind of of a kind of a weird one to me because their war is epic level awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they're just lost in a table time.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a horror movie, their power level, the things that they can do.
[SPEAKER_01]: The only time that they were actually power level where they should be scary level with they should be is in the dark times of seventh edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: at the end of seven.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, because they shoot off all those broken.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know, but I'm putting, you guys can't see them out.
[SPEAKER_02]: I threw my arms in the air there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Seventh edition.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to do a cast on this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe like our fifty-second cast will be like our one-year anniversary.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be us just bitching about forty.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay?
[SPEAKER_02]: Seventh edition sucked.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's horny.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anything that was good in the seventh edition was also bad because everything that was good in seven edition is a bad thing for the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sisters at least shut that shit down.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think I saw a statistic where I think the player base, by the midpoint of eighth edition was four, five hundred percent above where it wasn't set on edition.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because so many people quit the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it was terrible.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're playing in seven, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was awful.
[SPEAKER_01]: I played since second, second is when I came into the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Seven edition is laughably the worst time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we can't do a cast on what's the worst edition of forty.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, because it's a three minute cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's every edition there and both of us go.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's every edition.
[SPEAKER_02]: Have a nice night.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like first round.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we probably will do a cast on why it sucked because that'll be fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to the sister.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll start off with, we're doing this whole cast today is going to be really on just the history of the sisters because it's not really much else you can do.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're just kind of go start from the beginning and then finish with modern.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll start with a rise.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the rise of sisters is pretty cool to me because their origins actually go back even beyond that of the custodes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let's talk about what the, let's set up the world though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because we're getting more and more psychers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we're also getting, I guess, the opposite of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be the sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's, yeah, let's do the parieting.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just jump straight in because we can't talk with the sister without having the parieting.
[SPEAKER_02]: The parieting is one of the most important parts, honestly, of, of, of, for decay in a sense of, like,
[SPEAKER_02]: It does things that change.
[SPEAKER_02]: They break the game.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they break.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they break the, they break the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they break the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the no one knows where the pariah gene came from, but we do know that it's a man kind only thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Other species how I didn't actually.
[SPEAKER_02]: I looked it up to me honest with you.
[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot a dog.
[SPEAKER_01]: I knew that I didn't really.
[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, it's not an elder thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because the Eldar, the the Harley Quinn's aren't having our solace, but they're not blacks.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the only thing that's close to the pariah are the Necron pariahs, which you're actually made from captured human pariahs.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the pariah gene and they're they're made by
[SPEAKER_01]: Necron technology, which emulates what that is.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the parieting, we don't know when it came in from mankind, I'll dive into that in a little bit here.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the expectation is that as the warp grew, the parieting probably grew a little bit with it and has been.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's as the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_01]: It happened.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, no, it pre-except by a long mark.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying it's exploded though because you had very few parieting people.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's, well, that's, that's, it's also possible the parieting may have been man man, you factured before that I was doing this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I was saying that I was about to pause and like, yeah, but I still think that
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that might have been that that is a theory.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but also I think that even if that is true the fact that the I of Terry expanded
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, they expected psychic powers everywhere.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the odds are the same.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let's talk about the pricing a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: So all mortal things create a presence in the work, even the Necrons, we discovered that frontier created a presence in the war pages in the town.
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't interact with the war, but they do have
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be aware of the war to create a presence in the war.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, there is an exception until on the episode, the thirty-six, which was our cast on the Black ship, National Amicon.
[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about this a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Such a scary thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a terrifying thing about how like the more powerful the psychic power, the more presence they have within the war.
[SPEAKER_02]: The pariah gene is the inverse of this.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're the black hole of the war.
[SPEAKER_02]: So a pariah person with a pariah gene
[SPEAKER_02]: doesn't appear in the war.
[SPEAKER_02]: However, they can become more and more powerful with that pariah jing to the point where they actually become the negative void.
[SPEAKER_01]: They become basically a negative number and
[SPEAKER_02]: And that number can be a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can go exponentially more.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a big thing on this because it is disconcerting.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is also shows up as a when you're searching.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is legit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like a psychic, a psycher.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And Tiger S, he's like, I need to find something.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he looks out into the work.
[SPEAKER_01]: He will actually find.
[SPEAKER_01]: People are dodging because it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a black hole in the search where it's really cool is that they actually can hide though.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the black ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: If I put someone with the priority, which is also a blank next to a cycle, I can't see the cycle depending which one of them's more powerful.
[SPEAKER_02]: One will either either dim the cycle down like a light candle or could you actually make them.
[SPEAKER_01]: It completely gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you do it perfectly, which will be the black ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's designed to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they designed to do is they, they pair blanks with powerful psychers exactly in the same level.
[SPEAKER_02]: So no one knows they're there.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really cool thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is again, this is why we call them blacks.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to hear us say mostly call blanks because it's easier than saying pariah jing and white.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're blanks to the word.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and so the sisters of silence are made up entirely of blanks, every sister's, and not just they like mild blank.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like a mild blank might be like a negative one or a negative two.
[SPEAKER_02]: These are negative a thousand in some cases.
[SPEAKER_02]: So a couple more notes on blanks.
[SPEAKER_02]: So one of the big ones is that a blank, a lot of cycles where the blanks become really powerful.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we talked about this again on the black ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: Psychers can see with their eyes, but they also can see with the warp.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to do a thing on this because I'm such a huge Star Wars fan, which is Force users use the Force accidentally all of the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: People that use the warp high level psychers elder are things of that nature.
[SPEAKER_01]: They use that their psychic powers
[SPEAKER_01]: accidentally all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it would make sense because the difference is like with your eyes, you can see kind of whatever's unobstructed for the most part straight in front of you, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: They haven't given Tao eyes the sides their heads yet.
[SPEAKER_02]: But with psychers, they can actually see in three hundred sixty and ignoring walls, et cetera.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they tend to use that.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also psychic when they do psychic awareness, they're looking at emotions.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they see something that's hostile to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: The blanks.
[SPEAKER_02]: The blanks they can't see.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so there's some cool stories.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is why it, again, black shifts, but the last sort of a blank can walk right up next to a psycher and the psycher won't see them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they're mainly using, because they go, why would I, I know I'm using my eyes, but like, why am I, my father with my eyes, they don't realize that there's an assassin who we're going to cover.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, why would I bother because psychics are so much better than my eyes are?
[SPEAKER_02]: And what makes, you know, if you guys could probably foreshadow the sisters of silence, this would include demons, chaos gods, you know, any corrupted being also elder to a point like there.
[SPEAKER_01]: You could, I'm actually surprised that they don't send more assassins after far series, but whatever, because you could just cruise up, because, yeah, talk about people that use the
[SPEAKER_01]: There's psychic powers as a day to day.
[SPEAKER_02]: They could walk up and just eliminate an elder farcee or anything.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just a life.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one really knows what's the hell happened.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: So what's the other thing to sisters though, take this to a little bit higher of a level.
[SPEAKER_02]: And by a little bit, I mean, an extreme level.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: So a blank, as we just said, can't really be seen in the warp.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you have warp sense, you may not see them.
[SPEAKER_02]: But if we take that like negative one negative ten, we make it a negative ten thousand, they actually suck the life that effectively out of you, if you are, you know, it's not even just a cycle though.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you're a warping
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not even worth being there because regular people, everyone has a psychic presence.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you have no, you, that's fair.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I see we're going with this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you, you don't know it at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't even know the warp exists.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: If a blank, a powerful blank comes next to you.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Disconcerting you, you don't even understand why you're horrified, why you feel terrible.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll cover this in a little of some stories in the sisters, but effectively if you were a powerful siker and a couple sisters are around you.
[SPEAKER_02]: You actually can, you'll just collapse being in their presence because your, your body stops functioning because they take out all of the power that's moving through you.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we don't really, I guess we only talk about warping up like we don't, and elder are good example.
[SPEAKER_02]: a powerful warp being.
[SPEAKER_02]: The warp energy is not like something that they're just like shooting mind bullets with.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's seeding through all of their body, all their muscles.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're whole body.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so you put a blank that's a negative force on that pulls it out of you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Their body will just shut down and they collapse into the ground, which you can imagine if you're a powerful warp being makes them really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Those of you who play grainites or ice-cream, well, wait, wouldn't that be better than what we have?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to cover this a little bit later on, but you have to keep the the blanks away from other people.
[SPEAKER_01]: because of the fact that you ruin everybody else.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's not about that, because that's not about the downside.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this sounds like all upside.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, you get a blank.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can shut down the cikers.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can shut down all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Except for their life is terrible.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you've read their eyes and her novels, you already know this, but you haven't read them.
[SPEAKER_02]: But what on top of that, blanks have
[SPEAKER_02]: because as we just said, every living being touches the warp in a certain way, and the blank, whether they want to or not sucks that warp out of you.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when you're around them, they make you unhappy.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's just, it's like wildly unhappy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, depending on your level of connection to the warp,
[SPEAKER_02]: It can be as simple as a like, yeah, whenever I'm around person X, I'm sad.
[SPEAKER_02]: All the way up through like, yeah, I actually get suicidal and like my stomach doesn't work like a GI issues being around that person.
[SPEAKER_02]: And what this makes is that the blanks live is kind of really depressing life of solitude where no one will ever befriend them.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's wildly new.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're
[SPEAKER_02]: because because it's not hard to say, hey, everyone agrees when we're around Eric, we are all sad.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there's something wrong with Eric.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why don't we just kill Eric and everyone goes, yeah, let's go kill Eric.
[SPEAKER_01]: Especially when Eric was born on a random high world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, who's everything sucks and you make everything suck.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you actually made my life on a high world worse.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're, you know, you're getting murdered.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So this is where this is the downside of the cycle.
[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully that gives us enough background on them so we can dive into this is the silence because now they know what the prior gene is and how it affects people and sees a tell the story.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll start with the origins of them, which is well before the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: We actually, well before.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, basically, don't give a number on this book.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we have no idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: We just know that.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as we said, this might have been happening for thousands of years.
[SPEAKER_02]: All we know is that at some point during the wars on terror, terror split into different warlords.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so you had these fiefdoms run by techno barbarian warlords.
[SPEAKER_02]: These techno barbarian warlords were called that because they used technology and they were barbarians.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they were not less the second word, more the first one.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the big one that they used at this time was genetic augmentation.
[SPEAKER_02]: As we said, as I was before, the emperor using genetic augmentation on the custodes of spacers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was like this was well established technology.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Thunder Warriors were the best ones ever, but there was another warlord who did have quite a lot of power and he actually ran the section of the world, which is about where England is, because of course that's where it was.
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's crystal.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's where all the best put people are from.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one has ever visited nodding him.
[SPEAKER_02]: In fact, our knowledge of it are primarily Robin Hood and number one, then a very distant second place is GW.
[SPEAKER_02]: He can go very far.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's going with Disney Robin Hood, the Fox.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, I kind of liked the, um, no, I've got you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kevin Costner.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the, well, I was actually Kevin, I wasn't a good man in tights, but Kevin Costner also works.
[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever, man, it's a very early Dave Schappelle, but I digress.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there was a king there and he called the unspeakable king figure out why.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he was brutal, but he used a special force of warriors who were known as the hollow ones.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's never confirmed, but it's implied that these were it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This was an entire army of blanks that he used.
[SPEAKER_01]: It, you know, real a random side note.
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of the armies didn't even realize that they were using a shit ton of psychers.
[SPEAKER_01]: They were just juicing up their warriors that they didn't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: how they would just answer.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so the holiday to this, the unspeakable king and his hollow ones warriors were exceptionally successful, especially in the battlefront.
[SPEAKER_02]: And oh, yeah, we're that we should mention, I have no idea why this is the case, but it's written down, so I'm going to say it.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a lot of hand to hand combat.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they're copying Dune here where the whole idea was like, well, everyone has shields.
[SPEAKER_02]: Ever had void shields, and so you couldn't shoot them, so you had to stab each other.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this isn't even, look, guys, there's intellectual property violations, and there's some of the stuff GW didn't, early GW was Dune did, but you're like, look, man, we did the same thing in Codor, so we're all,
[SPEAKER_01]: When was when did Codor come out?
[SPEAKER_01]: Ninety something?
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: Probably slightly after do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Thought it.
[SPEAKER_01]: You think it might be?
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it may have been a bad with time, but I think the decades might have been a fool.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so anyway.
[SPEAKER_02]: So everything was those hand-to-hand combat.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you had an army of blanks, which as we just said, you're close to them, they make you uncomfortable, they're unnerving.
[SPEAKER_02]: because it pretty good army.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Emperor kicked this guy's ass.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, why?
[SPEAKER_01]: As it, which we talked about in the last cast for whatever, even though we were talking about that, we talked about them three different cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: When the Emperor conquered Terra, holy God, he was
[SPEAKER_01]: seven hundred and zero.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was with only first round knockouts.
[SPEAKER_02]: He like it at this at this moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he then fast forward a little bit and we're like, cover these guys in a little bit, become the daughters of the crow.
[SPEAKER_02]: After the emperor defeats this army, he actually folds the hollow ones into his army.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we're going to, I'm going to jump you guys ahead a little bit, because this is, this is how the cannons written to Suicide.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing really there.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to jump ahead into the early part of the, of the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_02]: There was a high world in full rebellion and it's an all-cycle rebellion.
[SPEAKER_02]: Numerous Imperial ships are sent to this planet and it just and they just get wrecked and entire entire
[SPEAKER_02]: fleet arrives in orbit of imperial psychors and disappears.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they do huge rituals.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they don't even say it, but this is clearly can't.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And at the same time, an all-female part of the Imperial Guard, this is, again, the Fort Imperial Guard called the daughters of the Crow, were deployed.
[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know that much about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: We show that we know that this is the progress of the sisters because of what happened.
[SPEAKER_02]: The daughters of the Crow are deployed this high-world.
[SPEAKER_02]: And effectively, everyone up to this point lost.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just land planet side and the rebellion stance.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because people are on the ground screaming and grabbing their heads because the presence of the daughters of the crow.
[SPEAKER_01]: is a nightmare.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they are, it all that, it just shut to the point where the imperial was about to exterminate this high world and they left with captors.
[SPEAKER_02]: They actually, the, the daughter's the Crow landed, walk around and we're picking the sikers up and putting them on black ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: They probably didn't end well for the cyclers.
[SPEAKER_02]: It might be honest.
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: They probably, they were like, I really wish someone would shove it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so this is the Doris group.
[SPEAKER_02]: After this, that is the last mention we ever have the Doris of the Crow.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you years later, this citrus is silent, just a peer.
[SPEAKER_01]: weird.
[SPEAKER_02]: It might have a couple of the people that were in the it's entirely possible that there might be some overlap in these two.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no one knows anything about this.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just appear one day.
[SPEAKER_02]: We go from daughters of the crow, winning a battle, and then oh, there's another army here called Sisters of Silence.
[SPEAKER_02]: no notes, I mean, valdornos, but no one else knows.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because the entire imperium, as we said before, is on a need to know basis, and it's always, you don't need to know.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of the origin of the story of the Sisters of Silence.
[SPEAKER_02]: From there, let's dive into what is a sister of silence.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because, you know, we'll start with the basics.
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't talk a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is weirdly not addressed enough, and it's copper in that compromise.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's contradicted a little bit of why they don't talk, because they talk about what could happen and whatnot.
[SPEAKER_01]: But in the end,
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the sisters do not speak.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have a vow of sons.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can speak.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is not something we're like, it's bread out of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the example I use is money, Python, life of Brian, the guy who has all the juniper boosters, just ow my foot.
[SPEAKER_02]: That should be enough for the rest that gets to the rest of you off on a memory trip.
[SPEAKER_02]: So instead of communicating with their voice, they use sign language, which only them and the custodes know.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they can speak to each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a specific sign language on that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about again, with their silence, they don't make enough of why.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a couple of the stories they said that because of the fact that they're blanks and when they speak, people get anxiety and terrifying, but they don't continue with that.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's, I think it's a badass thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's always my opinion.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is just terrifying.
[SPEAKER_02]: What if a bunch of women show up with a really dumb haircut and a bunch of power armor, and they never say a word to you, but they actually do, I has dumb thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have to communicate.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they have a box, which is a
[SPEAKER_02]: GW for speaker on them and if they do their sign language, the speaker will speak.
[SPEAKER_01]: But just say everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just dumb.
[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just objectively stupid.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also holding two weapons would continue.
[SPEAKER_01]: Last night important.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I mean, it seems fairly important when I want to tell you to go attack a hill and I'm holding a pistol in the heat.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, I mean, there's no canon story of this backfiring horribly, but it definitely is backfiring.
[SPEAKER_02]: feel like the person that's trying to do sign language holding a sword and a gun, you're like, yeah, but the reason I think it's kind of badass is what you get is we talk about the rates with the L-D-R.
[SPEAKER_02]: What you get is an entire group of warriors who don't make it because when I say don't make a sound, they don't just not speak, they don't yell, they don't scream nothing.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when they're fighting in combat, you just get the sound of their bolter and their footsteps, that's all you get out of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, this isn't doing a justice, John, because what you have to understand is the voices in your head, the voice everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It are alluded to be the warp connection.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're you're feeling of being in connection, I guess, with the universe.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's cut off.
[SPEAKER_01]: So not only is that not happening, you can't hear anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not saying anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, what the hell is going on right now?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, I tried a theory on this, and I forgot I had the theory on this, because I wrote these notes about a week ago.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, my theory on this is that blanks, a psych or can't reach into their mind to read their mind, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: So the only way that you could know what they're saying to each other if you're a psych or you're trying to spy on them would be to listen to them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they don't speak.
[SPEAKER_02]: I need to sign language unless you're a sister of a son, because like you don't know,
[SPEAKER_02]: they effectively can move anywhere and do their thing and no one knows what their purpose is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm undetected by suckers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I'm like, that's actually kind of badass.
[SPEAKER_02]: The interesting thing about them is where they fit within the Imperium's a little bit goofy.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is trash.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just sorry, but you know what, you know, you usually are the person that yells this out.
[SPEAKER_01]: The sisters of silence are technically part of the Astra telepathica.
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they report to the emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's so funny.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they are.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are one hundred percent under the astralopathica, except they do not listen to the astralopathica in any way, shape or form there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they didn't make any sense.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it gets worse.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if we really went diving to where this is, there's actually feel about the astralopathica and some other elements of the Perium.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they make, whatever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, it's like if you went, hey, the US track and field is underneath the
[SPEAKER_01]: Department of shuffleboard.
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we don't belong here guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, that is important.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sisters are completely independent of the acetalopathica.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can do whatever they want.
[SPEAKER_02]: They choose to do things that align with the acetalopathica.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they actually choose to be in the black ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: They love hunting down rogue psychers.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're doing stuff for the acetalopathica and they tend to kind of be pretty close to the inquisition for this reason quite often.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, the sisters and silence may or not be kind of psychos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they're out of their deadlines.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, they will really, I mean, the stuff they do in the black ships is creepy, crazy and wildly torture.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are signing up for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are true believers.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's, we haven't a sisters of battlecast yet.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sisters of battle believe the emperor is a god.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like very much.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So much so that they get powers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sisters of silence believe the emperor is correct.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a very different powerhouse.
[SPEAKER_02]: They get from this.
[SPEAKER_02]: But this is the battle are trying to do right by the emperor.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sisters of silence are a different level of crazy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just crazy that they let them sign up board and half the things are.
[SPEAKER_01]: You should torture people until they die and they're like, I'm in.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in.
[SPEAKER_01]: Put me on the top of the board.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, you have problems.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_02]: One of the weird things about them, and I said, we're because a lower standpoint.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not a lot of stuff on the sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I get a little bit confused by some of this and kicking around.
[SPEAKER_02]: So according to the code X is,
[SPEAKER_02]: There's only been three of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to work off here.
[SPEAKER_02]: They and the custodes are the only ones who have access to the Imperial Palace.
[SPEAKER_01]: They do not have full access.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care what you're going to throw on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's a problem.
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't say limited.
[SPEAKER_02]: It says that they can wander the Imperial Palace kind of at their own discretion, which would mean a chance because they got too close to the upper bad things would happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: And people should get the custodes would cut them down at a moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm trying to figure out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, well, they allowed a lot of the imperial archives either, because despite some weird psychic crap, then they were just to make not work every day.
[SPEAKER_01]: They literally break protections down.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Imagine, like, three sisters accidentally stumble into the astronomical.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it goes black.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, three sisters walking into the fact that they still have a portal to the abyss in the fucking basement.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that could be a good thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: They should like to be fair actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: They could close it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe you should play a lot of words around.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe we should just show a bunch of scissors.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, just stand here for how long you turned me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, girls.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to tie you to this chair.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, all this coming.
[SPEAKER_02]: So with their creation, which is more just kind of sudden appearance, they form a base on Luna, which is the moon.
[SPEAKER_02]: In case you can follow, I don't know why they GW does this crap.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they name it the Somme-The-Seduct Citadel, which I also just have.
[SPEAKER_01]: You just weird to me because Luna is already a
[SPEAKER_01]: giant military.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is basically a bunch of guns pointed in all directions.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I was kind of like, where are you then putting this?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just somewhere there.
[SPEAKER_02]: It comes up in the flight of the Eisenstein.
[SPEAKER_02]: So
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, it's cool and that it, sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: I tried to use logic and sci-fi.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what that was.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's all right, because Brad's right, we all can look up and see how big the moon is.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that big.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so apparently the moon is a giant fortress of guns.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's also the Citadel that all the system of songs are from.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's where every black ship departs and arrives at a constant because you don't want to bring the sikers all the way to Tara, you do a stop first.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a thunder don't.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a little bit odd.
[SPEAKER_02]: I will say that some of those gonna come up a lot and we call it about gray nights because it's where they come from.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's well originally.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's where the formation of them, but sisters have this, and this is right around the end of, this is during the great crusades.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is pre-haricine.
[SPEAKER_02]: You've got this fortress there.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're probably less than a thousand of them at this time.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's never written down.
[SPEAKER_02]: but it's there's less there's there's more than than custodes and a lot less than everything else because they're easier to make that custod.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but they're also harder to control they also just die a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was the downside because they are mortal, but they also were well protected.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're a tradition.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to figure a place like, you've got a high recruitment rate because, well, genetic engineering.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you've got a low attrition rate because they only hit deployed against low ish.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're just comparatively.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because, well, you're only going to deploy them into like, oh, has a bunch of cycles here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'ms when we get there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, they can't do shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I'm excited to see you.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let's dive into kind of the next chunk of them though, which is where the sisters really, they're original Hay Day, which was during the Great Crusade, into the Horace Harris.
[SPEAKER_01]: Every single engagement was cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, cast had, let's go before that because the bigger one is the Great Crusade.
[SPEAKER_01]: Which is because, yeah, even in the Great Crusade, most of the places were going had
[SPEAKER_02]: Some of the psychiatry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them are psychic.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the biggest problems that Imperium has during the Great Crusade are psychic races.
[SPEAKER_02]: Either humans, where you've got the psychic warlords who've taken over a system during the dark age of technology.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because people, we basically left these planets alone, and people with psychic powers went, I can blow people's heads up with them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, God.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm like, God.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do anything to stop me.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they took control.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is just for just land there and go, yeah, you're done.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're now Dave.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You also worked on Zeno species like the ragdags we discovered are heavily psychic powered orcs they use the scissors against the orcs quite a bit because they would actually shut down.
[SPEAKER_02]: These guys all utilize psychic powers massively.
[SPEAKER_02]: You just bring some scissors of silence and they go
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, nothing worse anymore.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's the sucks.
[SPEAKER_02]: So having this level of force really helps it out.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the cool thing about this is as we covered earlier, this is a human gene.
[SPEAKER_02]: No other species has ever seen this.
[SPEAKER_02]: So when you deploy the sisters of silence to some of these seasonal species, or even some of the humans have been well removed, they've never encountered this power before.
[SPEAKER_01]: you know what I'm going to go into the completely the hold on everyone.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Brad and John ran and we like wild theories about Forty Kay did we completely engineer this game because they alluded to this several times.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, make this that we made this a thing that we just made here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so only because the knowledge of the warp doesn't appear to have been there.
[SPEAKER_02]: and it predates because it's because it's dating back to the words before the, the five tariffs.
[SPEAKER_02]: I could see it being something where, so it's, it's, it's really my expectation or my belief.
[SPEAKER_02]: is that it was a trait that was detected and then it was cloned.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I think it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think some warriors had this, they identified the gene and they cloned the air flowing out a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: When I think about sisters' asylum, it feels like a wildly convenient coincidence.
[SPEAKER_01]: that I found the perfect counter to my main adversities.
[SPEAKER_02]: GW's hints a lot of times at, you know, using cloning technology, we're talking about like the creeks.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the core of the creek.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were in the underground.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were using cloning technology to increase their numbers, right?
[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the sisters are because there's also all female force.
[SPEAKER_02]: They also look identical.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the odds are pretty good.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is actually a cloned force.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can see that more so then because it like I said, it felt very, wow, you just happened to stumble upon the exact counter to my arm.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, believe the sisters are, that's my belief, my belief is that they're, they're a cloned force heavily, although that changes, we'll get there later.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the fun thing about sisters, though I do like is that they're just humans, which, if you listen to our last cast, the very end of our last cast, where I point out that all of the custod models are the same size to their human, they're actually think about the same size of the sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is our humans.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oopsies, but anyway, the sisters with the what's the girl humans?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my love the sisters is that they're in power armor, but they only have to do very much.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just show up and the power armor is really to just don't get shot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, don't lose the sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: You land them on the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And because they embody the tenets of my space was, almost none of them were helmets because it would interfere with their psychic powers.
[SPEAKER_02]: We got masks.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were a mask and they'll get poisoned.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, screwed.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's just their head is exposed, which is just dumb.
[SPEAKER_02]: The models are stupid.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you have to make sure that he's got that bomb.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But this does lead to during the
[SPEAKER_02]: Great crusade, some of the most powerful beings in the galaxy were brought to heal by the Sisters of Silence, just showing up and saying, yeah, what's your job?
[SPEAKER_01]: Stand fairly close to that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you should I engage him?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, no.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you will lose terribly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just stand there and like in his general area, and then we will take care of him.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this is screw it with jumping ahead a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: When they sacked Prospero, they brought them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sadly, yes, but if we stand kind of near these guys, watch this and then space holes just went.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they can't hit me with a mind bullet.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, and I can hit it with my sword.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm really good with this.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I really like hitting me with that sword, too.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so much better.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is going to not go well for them around the same time, though.
[SPEAKER_02]: Malkador in the Emperor decide that the astronomical needs be powered by a bunch of psychers and the sisters happily.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, sorry, I'm jumping ahead.
[SPEAKER_02]: They start off without the sisters on the black ships and shit goes
[SPEAKER_02]: Or wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: Turns out this is not a great idea to change.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just thousands of of unsanctioned psychers put them on a ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: Have that ship do warp jumps.
[SPEAKER_01]: I just assume the cast went, this has to be a trash.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's no way.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way.
[SPEAKER_02]: They cannot be this stupid.
[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, needless to say,
[SPEAKER_02]: all of a sudden the sisters get deployed in the black ships.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the astronomical and gets a much more consistent flow of soldiers have problems.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because again, they sign up willingly.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're excited about doing this.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: When you're talking about, I can hop on this ship, which is basically a slave ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to move around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: You just said slave.
[SPEAKER_01]: I meant to say torture slave ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is torture slave ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's people who
[SPEAKER_01]: Slave is only to go back up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we can step up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we would be like a cruise ship comparing to what this actually is.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the sisters, it's a little dark.
[SPEAKER_02]: All admit it's a little dark.
[SPEAKER_02]: However, then we get the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, which does significantly shift this because as much as the Imperium doesn't win with mid.
[SPEAKER_02]: that demons are a thing, the emperor, the custodians are all aware that they're at one hundred percent of the thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they need to shift over the sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: We discussed that they use them to wreck Magnus's day.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're also better.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can fight war beings.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can just place them around the galaxy, which also helped for Dorn.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also didn't just place them on the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: When the hers are seriously, they just place them, whether they wanted to be or not around the palace and around Tara.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they didn't want warp gays drying.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they didn't.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Dorn used them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Dorn and Valdor used them to actually shield off soul from the visions of chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also didn't treat them right all the time.
[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of did a Rick and Morty.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to line my walls with Morty.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: They did that with a lot of the sisters.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it worked.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I mean, it did work.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is why in the truth is when Horus came into the soul, he kind of had to creep his way in because he didn't know what was waiting for him because he couldn't see it.
[SPEAKER_02]: sort of not really.
[SPEAKER_02]: You read the books.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was gruesome though.
[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't see real weird shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just strapped them to a ship and flew the ship around the circle.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's like, well, the sisters of silence went, you have a really good power.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't care about you.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, Juan carried every time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the part of the story of sisters and the heresians, the last part of the history, the heresie, which I found incredibly stupid.
[SPEAKER_02]: is at one point.
[SPEAKER_01]: I love that we had to go it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Where are we going to go with John Shitz on staff?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you've got an army of blanks who they can shut down any psychic power and we've got an invasion of chaos, which is full of psychic.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've got to lead you to the next one.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we should put him against the Legion.
[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which Legion?
[SPEAKER_02]: How about the world eaters?
[SPEAKER_02]: You mean the ones who killed other psychers and have no psychic powers whatsoever?
[SPEAKER_02]: And also the murder.
[SPEAKER_02]: It gets worse.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're taking regular humans whose only ability is to fight psychic powers and we're putting him against super humans with no psychic powers, but a real solid joy in shopping things in half.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also loving killing psychers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, didn't go great.
[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't go great.
[SPEAKER_02]: Magnus attacked.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like there was a thousand places they could have used them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they went with, hey, how would you provide the world leaders?
[SPEAKER_01]: This is, remember the demonic incursion that happened?
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm a call it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm six foot four.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm almost two hundred and twenty pounds.
[SPEAKER_02]: Me too.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is like hacking.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like me and saying, you know, you go fight the big guy, but your five-year-old son, we're gonna go have him fight Magnus for Magnus in.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what that reference is?
[SPEAKER_02]: You should.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, but I could probably fight Magnus.
[SPEAKER_02]: I might not win, but at least a fight.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, your five-year-old son is the one who should go fight the physical guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's got this.
[SPEAKER_02]: What the ass?
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so that ends, not great, and the sister's post-heracy just kind of falling to disarray.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this could be because, again, murdered by world leaders, strapped the ships, strapped the walls out in the ships.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thrown, and things to make sure that people couldn't do things.
[SPEAKER_01]: So like, shit is going, also, wow, they stay wildly loyal.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, only in one spot.
[SPEAKER_02]: They say, why should you write do Molly.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the first thing they do is.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a whole yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so they can, so we're going to kind of talk about this out of both sides of our mouth a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, the sisters disappear from the galaxy except for those crewing the black ships who are totally still there and active and nothing else.
[SPEAKER_02]: and they keep like making more of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So like the, this is called a chamber astra.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sisters who are part of chamber astra are just kind of good to go.
[SPEAKER_02]: They make more of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They keep crewing the ships as the ships increase as more sisters.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're gonna not talk about them for a little bit because that's what GW chose to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: A very small group, and actually no one knew about this until fairly recently in the lore.
[SPEAKER_02]: Seven of the dishes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, stayed actually in the Imperial Palace.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one knew they were there.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also made them into fighting groups.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is the seventh edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the end of the edition, by the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because we had all the broken dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: Gilman.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's later.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying, but what I'm saying is that there were a small.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she's true.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying they didn't organize and that it's something that there was just a small little section within the imperial palace, which were obviously being used by the custodes to shield, you know, the, basically.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's still a really good stop and chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking into stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, we'll keep some of them here.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so, which is fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: But for the most part, they just scattered to the stars.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is interesting.
[SPEAKER_02]: This story, I actually find interesting, because the sisters were really abject believers in the emperor and his teachings.
[SPEAKER_02]: Namely, chaos is bad, and deities are bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Ecclesiarchy starts rising, and they don't like the sisters of silence.
[SPEAKER_01]: because they are straight up saying that there shouldn't be, you guys are wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Powers of the, basically organized, can religion, which I think, consider chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Are wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is where we can all see this coming if you understand the concept.
[SPEAKER_02]: As we said before, the sisters have a pariah gene.
[SPEAKER_02]: The pariah gene means everyone around them is uncomfortable and doesn't like being in their presence.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the Ecclesiarchy
[SPEAKER_02]: They never officially call them witches.
[SPEAKER_01]: They completely inquisitive sailing travels.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and they begin processing them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so the sisters of sons have to disappear.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: No one steps in and goes, we should help all these people.
[SPEAKER_02]: Including the custodes I want to point out, because they have a bunch of them in their palace.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I guess they're not really out of the palace, but still they're like,
[SPEAKER_01]: They were murdering girls on here.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I got another stuff going.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we got some in here and I got my black coat.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's been going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going through my goth phase right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't have time.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really have time for this.
[SPEAKER_01]: I get a black robot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: The cure is released in their album.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this is where I'm going to be.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to sit here and listen to the Smiths all day long.
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, those are so long references.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're old.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm actually there before my time.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was just trying to make you feel like you're part of something.
[SPEAKER_02]: I might still have the Smiths album.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure you have a record in your house.
[SPEAKER_02]: Not in the hipster fashion.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they're like, yeah, this is how I had to buy music when I was young.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did I like final screw?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a pain in the ass, Spotify's so much better.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're not wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: What do you want to listen to this song when now?
[SPEAKER_02]: So I have to get up and go find a sleeve and then put it in the thing and press these.
[SPEAKER_02]: But my brother's a hipster.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm shit talking right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't listen to podcasts so I can make fun of him.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's got a collection of vinyl records.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to explain how it's better than Spotify.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, it's not.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was well, the quality's better.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, you don't listen to classical music.
[SPEAKER_02]: How the hell would you know?
[SPEAKER_02]: Like shut up, raging against the machine, sound the same.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the sister's scatter has a long diet trip.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sister's scatter all around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the challenge they have is because of the pariah gene.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're actually pretty easy to detect and more easy to detect in groups.
[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot of them end up becoming almost solo.
[SPEAKER_02]: You kind of two things happen.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other becomes solo living on like a high-volted, usually in agriculture's less people there.
[SPEAKER_02]: or there actually are little kind of bastions of them where they form like fortresses and random ones.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, that's good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's good.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's good to describe it all around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the expectation is that they were on the brink of extinction.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then because they scattered, they actually, you know, start to grow in number again, because
[SPEAKER_02]: they partner up with rogue traders, which allows them to move all around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the thing is, is that people that know, especially rogue traders that are at the same time.
[SPEAKER_02]: See a lot of value.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, hey, I know that you know that I know that you know that when you run, they do the princess bride with it and just go, come on, here's money and you're, how about this?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make your life not soccer.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to go ahead and call it out and say what is life and space is lonely and they're all female.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, thanks for making it weird brother.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying like, yeah, you make me physically uncomfortable.
[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, uh, the pariah gene carries on because it's a dominant gene.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fit.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fit.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So fifty percent
[SPEAKER_02]: of all offspring that a former sister has will have the gene.
[SPEAKER_02]: All of those offspring, fifty percent.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the gene doesn't actually extinguish.
[SPEAKER_02]: It carries on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, largely these road traders were being spread around the galaxy because they're not in large groups.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're harder to persecute.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to throw something out.
[SPEAKER_01]: You actually put this up before I did.
[SPEAKER_01]: When John does write the notes and, by the way, multiple people have said this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there is zero chance that I would ever stand on topic.
[SPEAKER_01]: But when I was looking at this, there is zero chance that they continue their volosilance or it would be just really weird and it would never.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they never mentioned it, but they had just been asked.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's so many stories of them being on road traders.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's where they spend almost all of the stories of them this time.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're on road trade or ships.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be able to speak or everyone knew your sign language that only existed for you and customs.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, let's just call it Eisenhower.
[SPEAKER_02]: I, I forgot in her name and I don't like Google again right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: But his, his, his, his, the Eisenhower novels his compatriot is a blank.
[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't even know she was a blank until Eisenhower found her and then trains her up.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what, that would be a result of the reason.
[SPEAKER_02]: didn't just find their eyes nor in the searcher.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, that she didn't.
[SPEAKER_02]: He found her because she was, no, when it was a very first, it was the eyes nor in one, he did the Allen letter.
[SPEAKER_02]: He found her.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was really, he finds her, but he also, yeah, she was a prostitute, so I thought we had it almost out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's y'all read that bucket, shouldn't you?
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, so he knows right away what's going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, instantly.
[SPEAKER_02]: So to the sense, the official numbers of the sessions of silence dwindled at the point of basically extinction, but the pariah gene actually is growing within the Imperium, because the, the Imperial population is actually expanding at this point.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's this weird kind of dichotomy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's what carrying them all over the place because of the road traders, we're carrying this pride gene to
[SPEAKER_01]: areas that never were encountered the impregnating.
[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the funny story that we're going to cover in future cast is this periogen starts getting formed by the imperium, not for sisters of science, but for the official SS norm to make, I don't know, I did the second worst, the third worst of the assassins, to be one.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're nightmares.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, look, the worst is the ever-sort to be the worst one that they make is the ever-sort.
[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they have the count as and the cooked the its ever-sort collects this count as vindicate.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: In order.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's where
[SPEAKER_02]: They get used for that a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, totally shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, the other sort, they go, have you successfully created an other sort?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I have broken the mind of someone and they destroy everything in their area.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll cover that couple of episodes guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: Give me a hot minute and we'll do assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, now we're going to fast forward to kind of write about the edge of this is just going back into the lore, which is Gilman.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're this is maybe to do some point.
[SPEAKER_02]: Gilman gets revived and he went on a chewing bubble gum and chaos asking for us.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to give the people that I'm going to give the ultimate fans a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a caradere because G. Man comes back and effectively absorbs ten thousand years of history.
[SPEAKER_01]: in about a day and a half.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and decides, you know, instantly says all of this is jacked.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I need this, this, this, and this, and I'm going to go whipsome ass and I'm going to figure out you guys are ruining everything.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to use all of this shit and he grabs.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, yeah, but first for before he grabs sisters, he fights his way back.
[SPEAKER_02]: As we said, he gets stuck on Luna.
[SPEAKER_02]: and gets attacked by Magnus and is losing a second battle.
[SPEAKER_02]: And just as he's about to die,
[SPEAKER_02]: out pops, custos and a bunch of sisters of silence, which Magnus has, I mean, again, Magnus is what the most powerful psychor in the galaxy top top three for sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's yeah, and then this is how it's shut him down.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then saying, and he's just going, why are we not using that exactly?
[SPEAKER_02]: Poppy chief of time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, poppy chief.
[SPEAKER_02]: It looks at this and goes, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it'd been super cool as if I would have known about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was fighting chaos for the last.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know since I got revived.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Since eight seconds after I got it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it would be nice to have people who just, they just shut it down completely.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, fair enough, let's use more of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So Bobby G sends out the call and says, all right, we're bringing the system of science back.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this story is kind of weird, but it's funny.
[SPEAKER_02]: I guess there's been about like two or three dozen sisters who are still at that temple on Luna.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've been keeping these teachings around for less than ten thousand years.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just doing their thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Within a couple months we've got third we have about three thousand sisters because they're cloning the shit out of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know they put a call out and they all showed back.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there is no chance.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have the Rick lab in the basement where they're just stamping.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, there's a zero percent chance of that being basically I'm just assuming that it looks that call is Rick from Rick and he's just
[SPEAKER_01]: like what?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, don't don't look around here.
[SPEAKER_01]: I swear to God, I'm not an evil science.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's making stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: So then we'll go all the way into what is modern forty.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm making a side because I'm about to get sad if we mention the table top for a second.
[SPEAKER_02]: So.
[SPEAKER_02]: In theory, sisters are the greatest asset to the Imperial War Complex.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to even start it on this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so let's go through all of these sisters can do.
[SPEAKER_01]: They stop demonic incursions because they go away.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Tearing it high fleets can't function because they sign-ups doesn't work.
[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, Ternan should also stop that.
[SPEAKER_01]: team and encourage but we're not talking about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not important.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not important.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Eldar, farce years in warlocks just don't work.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they don't work.
[SPEAKER_01]: Matter of fact, they just die because they no longer have any rules.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, entire chaos legions would just not function because most almost all chaos have had some sort of like boon that comes out of the work.
[SPEAKER_01]: They tried all their stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, to be fair, think about the fact that, oh yeah, all those demonic engines inside things, if you cut them off from the warp, wouldn't exist.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they would just stop working.
[SPEAKER_02]: No help needed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of going, they don't have cycles, you just went, nah.
[SPEAKER_02]: No help me.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's a bit of the other point.
[SPEAKER_01]: The sisters will actually beat them in a handy hand.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is just welcome to slap them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Stop it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Stop it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also give us your plasma technology.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so much better.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they end up getting deployed to war zones all around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: But what's cool about them is that as we said, there's about three thousand of them, they can be deployed as like ones and twos maybe it doesn't because just their presence is enough to turn off the the opposition.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we don't do a good enough job in the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's a ton of stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like we don't do a good enough job.
[SPEAKER_01]: The sisters of silence, blank powers,
[SPEAKER_01]: are wildly different.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like some of the sisters have a, if you're a couple feet away from me, you feel bad and I sense, yeah, things start to go right.
[SPEAKER_02]: They should be doing things like reducing strength and tough.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they should have a level of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because so many sisters, we just feel are not like a power.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they also have a huge aura.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't there a time and eighth edition where like I think it was custodes, like you couldn't cast powers around them?
[SPEAKER_01]: seven edition is the end seven edition when they came out the sister at the end of seven edition the beginning of eighth edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sisters of silence had a twelve inch aura that would wipe all your psychic powers and you couldn't cast psychic bars that's I'm saying like some of the sisters were so powerful makes a lot more sense is that they are today whether cheap chat used by customers back in the day you would just shot off yeah
[SPEAKER_01]: period of the huge or because some of these sisters are like the um is the colletius collects us.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to collect this.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's him.
[SPEAKER_02]: So then the collects is to do that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't do it now, but you used to be able to just turn off like a power.
[SPEAKER_02]: You had to target him and yeah, you couldn't target and you couldn't target them with psychic powers.
[SPEAKER_02]: You couldn't cast that they were certain distance of you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was
[SPEAKER_01]: In the thing is, isn't it?
[SPEAKER_01]: So it should be.
[SPEAKER_01]: You do a bad job about going some of these sisters are wildly, I guess, more powerful in their aura as the leaders.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you couldn't do it on the game completely because it'd be on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is the difference.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is the only
[SPEAKER_02]: positive on seventh edition and this is literally the only one is they did make a lot more faction specific rules that where you where like GW used to have a thing and and forty k photos from playing for a while like certain armies effectively always beat other armies
[SPEAKER_02]: But then that army would always be a different army.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it was kind of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then people hated that.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they got rid of it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I actually liked it.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like identity.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: It made it better.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it says there's, so we talked about kind of something.
[SPEAKER_02]: They did, there's other stuff that they actually do do though.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sister of the sons are also, they work with, where we're, work with the English issue, help root out rogue psychors, because Eisenhower is a big piece of this.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're actually attuned to the pariah gene to help them detect psychors.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of my favorite things in the lore.
[SPEAKER_02]: And there's some good stories about this where,
[SPEAKER_02]: a heretic cycle, for example, can hide themselves.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they can hide their powers.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to kind of scribe and find them, you can't.
[SPEAKER_02]: But a sister can just walk around and sense it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so they actually will just have their blood out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they will wander the halls of Imperial Cruisers and just if their like Spidey sense goes off, they can either report it or just slaughter the thing in front of them right away.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can deploy them to high school.
[SPEAKER_01]: The cypress cypress gets incapacitated.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they can deploy them to high roads.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really cool trick about them that they can just wander on and hunt down, passively, uh, the cypress, which would in theory work by the way for Gene's dealer called.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: You would actually be able to find it would only be the pariahs, but you could detect Gene's dealer called infection by just having a sister of silence on the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you phone the Patriarch, you're probably okay now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, not really, because you found the Patriarch, and then here come two million.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, man, it's better than just having everybody shoot you in the face.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You get to determine when they were attacking, but they're not going to be like, oh, you killed the Patriarch.
[SPEAKER_02]: We surrender.
[SPEAKER_02]: The other one that the last one that you know that which is really cool is they also can find, they can recruit and find blacks.
[SPEAKER_02]: So as we were discussing earlier, the blanks are spread throughout all of the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you weird stories about that, too, because they can apparently just sense if you have the potential to birth a blank.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they can recruit you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like this idea, though, because if you think about blanks or social outcast, you're being recruited by a social outcast.
[SPEAKER_02]: The downside is that's a great story if you're female.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of a shitty story if you're male, because you're about to become a co-axis.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe there's a couple randoms in the Imperial Guard.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to be a co-lexus.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know we're at the end of the sister's thing, but I am so psyched up for the assassin cast because... All right, let's, you know, we'll do it live.
[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to do assassins next or... We're done guard.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing this.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, fine.
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so next week we're doing assassins.
[SPEAKER_02]: There we go, you guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying.
[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to how we figure this out.
[SPEAKER_01]: They wear big hats for a reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're awful, awful, awful reasons.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Next week.
