Hey everyone, It's Tuesday, July the nineteen, twenty eleven, and you are listening to the Giant BombCast. I'm your host Emails BombCast at giant bomb dot com. Your first email coming in from what else? What is what I told you last week? I was gonna mixed up with emails. Car We're doing emails right now, Brad Shoemaker, I didn't say it. Ye, that's right. It doesn't matter. Tony Dunlap, I don't hear anything. Hey, BombCast, what's up with all this? I'm curious because I really enjoyed it back when I played it in No. Five on the Xbox. I haven't played the PC version. I felt had a very unique atmosphere. Not to mention, it was also a critical commercial success. Is this hate for Doom three a generational thing? Thanks? And keep up the good work you guys. Brad say it? Oh say it? Oh say my name? You know what? I'll cut it out of another podcast and he will have already said it. WHOA, I can make it. I can make it. Say whatever I want. What do you know that Penny over there, I'm dropping on you. I'm snitching back. Smells like set that up any better Uh, what was the question. I don't know, Rad, Rad say, we're really doing this? Yeah, right now, he said it. BombCast at giant bomb dot com Tony Dunlap from Seattle. Okay, hey, bomb cast, what's up with all the Doom three hate around Giant bombs. It's a dumb game, he heard the rest. I disagree if it was a generational thing, you know, I think for me it was just it was an issue of expectations from what it and kind of like what top tier first person shooters at that time were and we're supposed to be also, Like that was the moment that you realized, wait, it's software has shit artists like their designs for stuff like like all of the all of like the character designs of like we're gonna update all the classic Doom enemies for three D high res futuristics. Like you just you just took the most like literal versions of all of these characters that you possibly could. This is just ahead with like fangs and a rocket behind. Yeah, I mean like Doom three is the game that It's why we talk about monster closets today right now. Certainly games before that did it, but it was the game where the graphics had advanced, the design had not, and you were like, what the visuals just brought the outdated Yeah, that stuff was just brought into stark relief. But bro, do you like, like, I don't mind, it's not offensive to me. I don't think it's a great I think it is not a worthy successor to Doom two probably done or master levels for Doom two or also things like this is like, you know, isn't this the follow up two Quake three Arena. This is the first game. This is the first game that it does since basically mastering first person shooter. It was it was the next game, since it was not the follow up two. No, no, But I'm saying, like, look at the run that they had up to Doom three, Like it was crazy. It was like genre defining, and they ran the the you know, the engine business. This is you know, sure before Unreal was a big deal, Quake three engine was everywhere. Yeah, still is, yeah, just float around one way or another. And then Doom three came out and like very few people licensed that engine and I don't I had never thought that engine looked all that awesome. Come on, dude, when that game came out, nothing looked like, well, okay, okay, was fine, but I agree that are the art assets were dumb? Yeah, no, it was. It was great text those are are those art assets were totally jean jacket with sleeves cut off. They made doom seats stuff like like maybe it was just enough time I'm had passed and and and yes, the stark relief situation you referred to earlier, but it wasn't cool. There was nothing cool about hell in Doom three. It was just like this is it was doing this again. It was real. It was really fairly sterile and mechanical representation. It was, and it was kind of hokey in that outdated way, in a similar outdated way to like Duke newgam Forever is like sort of it kind of like like that style had worn out its welcome. So yeah, I mean Doom three, Yeah, Doom three was a real disappointment. I mean, I'm not saying it was complete garbage or anything like that. There were some some decent things in it, but like, yes, I also agree, yes, considering what it had been working on up until that point, Doom three extremely disappointed. I remember day one going like, man, this ain't I don't want to. I kind of don't want to play this anymore. Also, why is there no light on the shotgun? Bring some duck toy? I mean, yeah, that that part, which was just kind of a frustration more than anything else, Like like why why were these decisions made this way? Like why is this game the way it is? Although it's so you know the question that Tony asked, and I don't know how old Tony is, but he asked, if it's a you know, a generational thing, like if you saw that game, if you didn't already have the understanding of the knowledge of like all these games that it had made before, if you hadn't if you weren't deep into Doom and Doom two, and like this was kind of your first exposure to it, and it was just purely about the atmosphere and you know, kind of the mood, which that is kind of what all that game is really about, is dark rooms and jump scares, which is why I was into it. Absolutely. I could see being a little more lenient Lizon kind of quality too. I don't know, I could see someone coming to that game with no knowledge of its history, a play in that game and going why did anyone care? About it ever, But I think I think it's just as likely to go the other way. I don't think you can. But that's that they would. I mean if they have the knowledge of what it is like, that's that's assuming more knowledge. I guess, well, whatever, the Doom three is not the ten or twelve guys that were making games out of a garage great nineteen ninety three. Yeah, incredibly salients. Those guys were either you know, the part of the company in a couple of cases, or like moving into sort of upper tier management kind of positions. I mean, a game like that doesn't get made by twelve people like you just need more runt labor if nothing else to carry out that textures had cool textures stuff. The textures were cool, Like on the moving textures, those were cool. And then the textures on the video players that were video air quoting. These cool. No, when you say that, no, because they were I remember there were like a lot of technical stuff on. Everything was wet, like the world realized it was one of those games where everything was wet, wet, But then it was like one of the first games though everything wet, it was it was tip of the spear sometimes metallic not everything was ripping wet. Other things were metallic. It was like wet metality. Yeah, everything was kind of like like looked like it was like the humidity was too high and everyone was just kind of sweat was on everything. But the texture stuff that I really liked were I don't know if they've had been the first one to do this, but the video monitors had like video on them, like full actual real video, yeah, not just frames a video and that was cool. Oh. The production values were extremely high throughout for sure, and I just kept wondering, It's like, oh, is this what you can do when you turn off all the lights? And this is what you can get away with the thing for me was just that those production values enabled a really intensely moody environment, like you said, you know, it was all about atmosphere, like shooting a bunch of creepy monsters in the dark. For sure. Was not about thrilling or innovative combat, that's for sure. I mean they still aren't. Like I guess you've seen Rage, like, yeah, the combat, look, it feels great from what I played. At least Rage has like options with the weapons, building different put the guns considerations amazing. You know, kind of basically take cover or run at you, like I didn't know. I didn't see too many of them taking cover. It was a lot more of them. Will dudes run at I don't know which there are? There are like to advanced soldier types later on? Is that is the is that's the advanced part? We have been trained ourselves to hide. Well, the guys who run at you are like mutants, no waste land monsters. Is dooms still happening? Oh yeah, that's something has changed that we don't Doom four. Did they go back to Doom four? I think it was the way they know us. That game was chronicling the continued adventures of Doom guysing adventures of Oh no, there are aliens on Mars. Dude, I love Doom guy. I think I'm pretty sure they so Doom fours on Earth? Okay if I remember right, Yeah, it is the sequle to Doom three. Even number Doom games take place on Earth. Everyone knows that. So even number Doom games with the good ones like Star Trek no, well whatever, yeah, you know you're right, Star Trek five is underrated, like ironically, the odd number quake cons are the good ones. M that makes sense because everyone's playing Quake at the even number one, So all right, Quake three, now that's a goddamn video game. Sure, Doom three, especially by comparison Quake three, T and T. We'll do it. You want to? You want to throw that down? Yet did Quake one? Yeah? We did Quake one, so apparently we're skipping Quake two. Orb. I feel like we have to do due diligence. We have to do Quake two weeks and get to go three? No, and what was it? Ja? It's all rocket arena? What was that? Doom three? The multiplayer? Like was that existent? One on one? It was like it was a player or something at four or eight? It was low. Yeah. Yeah, I remember the time thinking like man to come from like Quake three to this, like what do you which which obviously you're focusing on something different? Sure, why not? But granted, uh, you know Quake three, What were you're looking for? A bottle opener? I think blowing around those he made some sort of like I need to open a beer. It was like I gotta read a rig. Anyone got clean needles in here? He smells like getting showered like three as he always kind of smells that way to work. I mean, that's why I underspokeing a lot. I think he spent the weekend here. I don't know, No, I came in on Saturday. He's perfectly fun drive slept in the city. I don't know if you remember the amount of strife that preceded the production of Doom three. At it that was like Paul Steed got fired over all that ship. That was when that was back when they were still posting drama and their plan updates, right, that's when they still had plan updates. Yeah, it was like they made three, like they made Quay three, and then they tried to decide what to do with a company, and there was like great internal conflict about whether Doom three should be made or not. But I mean, yeah, I mean that's that's the disadvantage. I think really curious to see what the other the other factions game was. I think they've talked about some of those stuff. I can't remember what. I'd kind of actually like to go back and like look at Doom three again, because like thinking about it in the context of at the time, you know, coming off of Quake three, which was granted and totally multiplayer focused game, and then seeing this and just like, all right, great tech, but just really disappointed by the actual game of it. And I wonder if with a little more distance, like what that looks like. Now. You know what happened to me in the intervening years since that game came out was I stopped playing on a CRT and started playing on an LCD. And that game is fucking unplayable on a bad LCD because yeah, because like you know how like yeah, like kind of cheap LCD is with contrast levels and really dark colors, like you can't see shit in that game. Am on my monitor now I believe it. And it's a boomer all right. Next to email comes in from Billy Hayes in McHenry, Maryland. Hey, GB crew, do you think we will ever see Child of Eating DLC is such as additional levels and stuff? I'm not sure if the port sales of this game will affect any plans for that. What do you guys think? Goody Caravella, I haven't played Child of Beating yet. I'm gonna say no, you think that's not going to happen. I think it's not gonna happen. Bratchetmaker, I don't I don't know that with an installed base of like what twenty five thousand people? That Yeah, I think that the cost like the value proposition there. Yeah, I if I was Ubi Soft. Yeah, even if I was Ubi Soft, I would what if you of Ubi Soft? That's how my computer pronounces it. Ubisoft barcode scanning thing I got it reads all the names. Yes, Sassan's creed too by Ubisoft. What do they do it like all caps and separate or something O kind? Yeah, I don't think so either. I think I think it's unfortunate that that game has even though I did not love parts of it, Like, it's still unfortunate that game didn't sell better than it did. But I bought it. I did my part. Yes, copies were purchased for sure. It sounds like they were still gonna stick with the Like there was weird rumblings about it's gonna be twenty bucks in Europe or you know, on the PS three when it comes out, but bubisofts no, it's gonna be it will be the same price for two weeks, but they're but they are still putting it out there. Yeah, it's I have to wander so like both like we saw these these sales numbers for both Child of Eden and Shadows of the Damned, and they were like crazy, crazy low. I was like thirty four k for Shadows of Damn. It's something we'd kind of heard. Like when those games were first coming out, it was a lot of people saying, I can't find this game anywhere, like a lot of suggestions that there were super limited runs. I granted, I also saw like zero promotion, marketing, advertising anything for either than those games anywhere. Yeah. I mean, if you were a best buy going into a game like Shadows of the Damned, what what incentive would you have to purchase a lot of copies for your store? If you look at it and go like, okay, crazy game from crazy Japanese guy whose previous track record is not all that great. And granted, yeah, he's got the Resideval guy on there, but he's not the Resideval guy anymore. Ye, and uh, they're not really doing any promotion for it, Okay, yeah, we need like one copy per store? How about that? I mean, this is a that's a game that I feel like from the get go they were just intending to sell to the crowd of people who follow games online. And and you know, know know what that is and are looking to do that, you know, and hoping the word of mouth brought it beyond that. We went to a best Buy last week trying to find a copy and they didn't have it. I had to order it online straight up did not have shadow. Do you what do you think motivated the marketing or the lack of marketing for that game? I mean, do you think they crunch the numbers and they're like, all right, we can spend X number dollars on marketing, and so you guarantee why sales number? Yeah? Probably, I don't know. I mean, but like, first, as cool as that game is, like, like, how wide is the audience for it? Really? Is that a game that you know, if if the guy who learns about games by seeing ads on television, is he gonna go out and buy that game and enjoy it or buy that game and make him go out and buy it? Like, but like a lot of audiences are kind of like made by marketing in a lot of cases, right, Like Final Fantasy seven is the classic example. Maybe maybe people a little more savvy now than back then, but we haven't seen anything like anything that I think maybe people are a little more like divided in the types of games they play now maybe well, but also you can't. You can't sucker a bunch of people in. It's just a bunch of CG movies and a commercial people people actually know, like like, oh, I know what a game is now, I know what a Madden is, I know what a Call of Duty is? Sure, which, like, which is why all you see for those marketing opportunity are Halo, Madden and Call of Duty. Man, if you just show people that skull turning into that motorcycle, you might be onto something. Maybe you maybe just I still haven't played in my copy. You maybe just sold me a second copy. Yeah, skull turning to a motorcycle. That's pretty awesome. It happens, God damn it. But yeah, I just wondered, like I played that this weekend. For for as need as that game is, I wonder if, like the big mainstream game audience got ahold of that game, if they would actually like it. But it's not. It's not like it needs to be. It's not even like it needs to be big mainstream audience. Like, but that those are like crazy, crazy low numbers, Like that's like like even by enthusiast standards. Uh, and never mind the Duke numbers like don't don't look at those those don't those are those are not real numbers. Those are the numbers of crazy people. So like trying to even trying to make that comparison is no good. But it's I'm still not sure, like what what would be the right way to sell them? I'm not you know, bus ads for Child of Eden? Like, is that gonna do it? Liked? It's it's not. It's not really like the moms and kids kind of angle that has helped a fair number of Connect games find some sort of You could make the argument that that's about the right number for that came to sell, Like how many how many people are realistically going to have that game resonate with them? You know? The game? Okay, so is this girl born the internet looks in the puddle and then everything turns black? I don't know, and then techno wave your hands around the shoots and then like Crystal Whale techno, like, oh, license bands I've heard of No, the producer has been putting out some tracks in Japan, and he's gonna put he's gonna put his stuff in it. There. All right, that's about twenty two thousand people. Right. I still think that game from everything I've heard about it gonna haven't played it sounds like it's something that should have been downloadable. I think it's it's run on the CUSP. I think, yeah, and who knows that that's better? But you know it's like that. Then you start to get into like how much money did it cost them to produce? Do they lose too much money if it's a downloadable Uh? You know, is the install base of Connect users into downloading XPLA games? Hell? Yeah, I am, yeah, I don't know. We've got an install base here. But like you know, how many people are out there like beating their chest, going like, man, they need to listen to me and make a sequel to rez like this. It's kind of the definition of vocal minority, right, No, But but I'm beating my chest here being like they need to make a Connect game that I can access and try out a Connect that's Connect optional. It's not even gonna with that, But what I would have bought it just to download it and have something to do on my Connect. But the odos for that is on Microsoft because they sold you to Connect could be soft and Q have nothing to do with it, And I think for that is on Microsoft also because they don't want downloadable Connect games. Yes, for another two weeks, I get three weeks until Fruit Ninja comes out. What's up with that gun Stringer went until they change FRUITA to retail. I think that's another key. I think I think Gunstringers of the cake case of like they had the game they got to put like you're on the edge, You're almost big enough to exceed our limits. Doesn't make more sense to make this into a full retail products kind of the opposite direction. Are you talking about like file size and stuff? Yeah, I mean yeah, just if I mean if Misplosion Man comes in at two gigabytes, all that video in there, Child of installs at like two point two. So that's kind of like the heartbreaking part about as you look at it and go like, oh man, it's like just miss the cuttle, like like if they've done a little more work, they probably could have, but who knows. Who knows. The colationship with Microsoft is like for for the profustion of Child of Eden and like, and for Connect games as a download, like they might not even been ready to handle anything like that, So who could say? I will never know, but like, yeah, you know, I think Child of Beedan is really great. Man, I really like it a lot. But there aren't a ton of me out there that That's that's my thought on that is is you know, like, yeah, it probably could have sort sold more copies, and certainly I think res did better than that back in the day, But I don't know how many of those people are left and how many these people really care and how many people those people. Yes, it's just it still seems like you could you could both of those games. I'm not saying they would be you know, Standy's on top of fucking Pepsi pyramids at the Safe Way. You know, I'm not saying Garcia fucking Hotspur, fucking Hotspur says, drink a Pepsi, get a boner. Taste my big boner. Yeah, exactly, Like, buy this case of Pepsi and get a boner. There you go, taste. It's more of an r C Cola level of promotions anyway. I think it's more up their alley. They're a little more street with the Royal Crown. Yeah, Royal crown can represent royal Crown plus Client Crown Royal at Royal Crown. If you've got a big fucking boner, that's the market. Next email comes in, There you go. Next email comes in from Jason Dear podcast. I attended a funeral today. Awesome, great, I'm glad we do these first. Now it really sets the move and it has I'm not saying now this is not like permanent format change. I like it, though, I'm keeping you guys on board. I don't want to laugh. I don't know when it's okay. Funerals people tragedy. That's how I deal with with personal tragedy, just laugh my way through it. So why should it be any different? Here? Uh see here, I attended funeral today and it had a small LCD set up in the corner playing a slide show of the deceased weddings, birthdays, et cetera. Anyways, as an accompaniment to the slideshow, there was a soft musical number playing in the background. I ignored it until my brother in law pointed it out. It was the theme music from the Wei home menu where all the channels and VC games are shown. What At this point I started humming along with the music, and it triggered desire to want to play we Sports. I tried to secretly record the music version of the Wee Home music theme, but couldn't get close enough to the TV without drawing attention as I held up my phone. Is it possible to the subcompanies has decided this music is calming it up to be played it in memorial sir visas if so, then We Shot music should be changed, should be played at christenings as it is way more cheerful and full of hope. Do you think this use of music was appropriate? I'm not sure what he's talking about, because it's no music is not music. It's just sort of like a little oscillating ambient I mean digitally, I don't I don't even how to describe it. But it's I don't know, it's it's an ambient soundscape on some Brian Eno shit. Yeah, Toto wrote it. If you guys knew, then I want to see girls strip to it. I think it would have been better if they'd use the We Shot music ye at the U or you know, at least that the you know they're not that not the actual memorial, but after the fact. No, I think for the for the actual, because I mean, nothing really says personal loss quite like we wear. Yeah too true. Let's see here. It's next emails about vomit. It's from Matt mccowski and Villa Park, Illinois, your bobcast. The other day, during the inaugural of my I'm a Wizard shirt, I threw up for the first time since literally October of nineteen ninety seven, the end of on one era and the beginning of another. Now I will always be reminded of this momentous event every time I put that shirt on. Thought, you guys should know. There you go. Matt will think of barf whenever he thinks of us, one of the many. Yeah, he dealing with one of the list. Uh see, it's next. Yep, it comes in from Brian Peterson. If that's your real your fake name to me? This question, this question. I'm gonna look at Vinnie and Jeff for this this What is the little flight? I don't know he's looking at me too, he is. After playing a bit of misbloss Man, I find myself losing track of where she is. During the large boss fights. You are zoomed way out. Yes, While the busy background is certainly a problem, The bigger issue for me is that her peak body is just too similar to a lot of the environmental colors for my red green color blind eyes to pick out. Man, I feel vindicated. I was just cry if anyone probably also experienced this, So that's why I throw it to the color blinds. I haven't gotten that fire, only did one or two boss battles. But yeah, every everything gets lost. You fight the octopus that came into Yeah, I mean it sounds like everything gets lost, whether you can see color or not. Yes, Yeah, that's just color blindness not an issue. The contrast, the contrast on the character is not great against a lot of the backgrounds, but also the camera goes way the fuck out and the like the the what do you want to call it, the silhouette the shape of that character. Yeah, it is basically a stick figure. Yeah, and that at a great distance that is really hard to pick out against a coat like a busy, colorful background, especially like when you know, when you splode, like there's a big cloud over you for a couple of seconds, you're like where am I going? Uh, there's a bunch of flying car sequences that other people I have seen complaining about when you jump off of each of the flying cars, it explodes into a bunch of debris and stuff. It's really easy to get lost in that. It's just a bunch of would you think, uh, yeah, they were kind of press rating. Yeah, like I really wanted to like that. I don't hate the game. It's it's it's decent. It's a it's a different experience as the first, but it's it's a very it's a forward momentum kind of experience of like it's different than like, I don't know, like Meet Boy or something where you're stopping, You're you're waiting for stuff to go by. Right, It's very much just like go got going, don't stop. Yeah, totally totally. Did you finally, mister Miagi that fly? Yeah? I think I think Daniel Sun that fly and missed cross Jacob Casper in Austin, Texas. After finishing Duke Nukem for Ever Tonight and watching the extras videos, I noticed that every two three years it seemed like they completely remade the entire game, The plots changed, and started almost all the material they were showcasing. My question is, do you think there are several nearly completed projects out there? Under the name Duke Nukem Forever that they simply never shipped. Yeah, there are three, but not nearly. Did you, well, there are three different iteration well, not counting the one that came out right total. Did you? Then you guys listen to the thing. What's Leo reports the game show they're doing? You know you don't want to talk about lens on a twit? No, No, it's they have a game show specifically, yes, at the controls anyway, one of the hosts, brother, were the three realms? Like, I don't know if you anyway, I listened to the whole thing he called in talked for like thirty minutes. Yeah, and he said specifically they were like they started over like three other times, like there are I'm pretty sure the number was four. I might I might be putting my foot in my mouth here, but I'd swear he said that there were four separate, distinct games. Sidebar. I would love to see one of the Half Life twos that valve throughout like they made like pretty quickly after the original Half Life shift. They were like cranking on something that was gonna be like same engine. Uh, like a pretty close follow up that got scrapped, and I believe was actually pretty far along at that point. So yeah, you know, I think we'll never see more than a couple of screenshots of I think there were legal issues. Was one of the things that I remember when they first announced it, when we were talking to Randy Pitchford about it, saying like, I'll do to be really cools, do some special edition, like compile this stuff in some weird way and get it out there, and he was just like, I'd like, legally it'd be weird. So I believe that everything about that project's weird. Yeah. Next email comes in from Sancis. Spiders is the subject line, and actually the subis line is I'm just gonna show you my ipaded spiders a right to exclamation points, just to could use a few in here get rid of this fly. I thought i'd let you know that while they are arachnids, the critter known as Daddy long Legs does not in fact a spider. Furthermore, you were corrected. They are not very deadly and yet unable to pierce flesh. There are no known species with poison glands. Also, they're called harvest men, which is an awesome name for a thing. I like it. That sounds like they're from the Killzone universe, and it sounds like I like some kind of scarecrow like. It sounds like they should be in Westfall. Yeah, so we so they are spiders, but not arachnids. The aractness not spiders. Spiders' is it? The segmented body? Is that? Does he go into the number of number legs? Right? Not that daddies have eight? Scorpion? Isn't irac nude? Right? Yeah? Yeah, they say there's close more closely real they did scorpion. There you go. You learn things, a lot of stuff to larn. Get over here, get it. Rogerpians right, Roger Reese in Santa Monica, California. I hate bomb cast. Question for everyone when you put on your shoes, do you go left or right first? Both socks on before shoes or do you do a complete foot before moving on to the next only asked because I found myself picking up my right shoe the other day. I only to probably put it down and put the left one on. Also, I do both socks first, Vinnie, both socks first. I have no idea left or right? Okay, Jeff, Yeah, I mean obviously you put both socks on, because you don't do those both at the same time. Brad, Right, first sock, then shoe, sock then shoe. Yep, I'm with also socking shoes, so sho. I don't want to wear socks ever, so the only time that I put on socks is won't I have to put on shoes? Like putting on socks is like a like a as you get out the shower, draw yourself off, you put on all the clothes, and then before you leave the house you put the shoes on and go. No, I put the shoes in, the socks on before I leave, the bare foot in the house until I have to go out the door. Absolutely, guys are dust heads. No socks are living free bullshit man slavery. Oh my god, foot pants this so bad. Bigger question of protocol. Do you hold the sock at the very end and just pull it all the way up or do you like bunch it up and that's a good way to rip your heel exactly, So you just kind of bunch it up so that you just sort of slip it over the toad. I wear short socks, so it's not so much an issue. But you got a bunch it up. If you're if you're doing if you're doing a full length sock, absolutely you ruin those socks, no doubt. Let's see here. Elano raised from Racita, California. What is your criteria for shopping for a brand new pillow? I am about to move from my current address, and looking at new pillows has been by a than my most contentious of purchase. When comparing brands and sizes. I can never tell how long a pillow will last, nor how will feel on my actual bed. Are there any tests I can perform in the store to ensure a high quality product without actually buying the pillow or getting arrested thanks to keep up the good work, I always go with a smother test. How long it takes to kill somebody? And just in case, you know, because some are somebody could breathe through. Some are permeable. Yeah, so you need one of those big temper pedic ones because that's like you just die thick. Yeah, I don't know. I bought some big those some big ones about big big pillows. On material wise, what do you go for? Vinny? So I've got one of those like tempered pillows and it's like it's like memory phone. Yeah, I've got a big memory phone pillow, Okay, and I kind of like it. But I also use a company. I need thick, really really, like like two foot thick pillows. Yeah, I've kind of got broad shoulders. Yeah, so I either need like seven pillows or like a couple of really thick ones. I just take the pillow and put it on its side, yeah, crunch it in half. Yeah. So that's part of my big pillow thing is that. Yeah. I can put it up on its side and put my head on that and sleep. Material wise, Jeff, what kind of what kind of pillow material? I don't even know? I mean down down? Is there a phone core? Sure you would know if there was a phone core. Okay, they're they're pillows, man. You can be hard in the middle if you if there's no There ain't no hardness in my pillow if you if you bend it, if you tried to bend it, it would just bend right back if it was a phone core. All right, Well it doesn't have that then, Brad. How do you feel about pillows ever since I started living in sin Yeah, they see, they seem to be multiplying in my house. Yeah, you definitely have more pillows. Now, how does that happen? They just they they bring them. There's there's like eight or ten pillows in my house. Yeah, I had two pillows for the entire day of my life. You have shams and now yeah, and there's like some of them are down because I see feathers going everywhere. And then I thought, there's at least a couple of like sort of weird gel pillows. I don't I don't mind hello pillows, except for the part where then then w it's time to go to bed. I am throwing all these pillows on the floor, those pillows, but throw them everywhere, stack them up. Uh, not so much. Here we're back in New York over it is actually hot. I guess i'd probably have it up up north. YEA flip that pillow in the middle of the night, the cool side of that pillow, you know. So so I have a like kind of foam core pillow right now because I also, you know, broad shoulders and eat something that otherwise you're just otherwise my next off to the side. And that sucks because I am I am occasionally a side sleeper. So and so that's great. The phone core has been awesome because usually it would be like all right, eddied, like four or five pillows that I'm gonna sink my head into and then like once I'm actually settled, that will be the appropriate hike because they're all down or whatever. But this is like I have one pillow and it's totally good for me. The problem is that I don't get the good, cool, cool side of the pillow with whatever the material that the you can't flip it. I can flip it, it's just the it's not as dramatic. I feel like I feel like with like the like a down pillow. Yeah, I get, I get that cold side, like, oh yeah, give me that cool side of the pillow. Well. The other problem with the memory foam stuff is like when you flip it over, there's just the imprint of your gun that you did then have to settle your head back into because it does keep like sometimes the grease like gets in it. Yeah, in that side of the pillow, because you know, it's like pressing up against the pistol this all night. I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about my my biceps. Yeah, pressing up against your pistol when you're spooning my guns. Yeah, just your guns. Yeah, I thought, Yeah, you're right, I do it. I do my guns do leave an impression imprint of like Popeye anchor just comes off like silly putty. Keep canna spinach out of That's true the home defense. That's right. It's gonna pop off and you go and stuff this cannon spinach down my corn cob pipe. You know what I mean. I don't think it's gonna get crazy around here tonight. How do you cool down after that? You know, pillow does not work out anymore. It's not good enough. It's gonna run around in circles. So I guess the answer is, dude, we don't know how to buy pillows. Ask me if you can sleep in the store or something. I guess not how to buy anything bed related for me. For me, it's still sleeping on a busted attach. For me, it's been trial and error. For me. It's been like, all right, I'll buy this pillow. Now, I don't like this pillow. I need a different kind of pillow. So if it's if it's like five feet long and made in the shape and image of a large breast of woman, you've got You've made. You've made some wrong choice, so you should be good, should be good to go. I got these, I got this kid, this Catherine pillow case. Now, did they really send you a pillow case? It's support. The deluxe edition with the game comes with the pillow case. That's a regular pillow case. Yeah, but creepy anime body pillow I mean it's still an an anime pillow Yes, it's still has an anime pillow case. I think you can go all the way, though I feel about that game. I don't know either. I just chopped it in and we'll start playing it. I really don't know. We'll start playing it soonish. Next email comes in anonymously. Oh my god. Uh. I recently met Rovio executive Julian for Guard and he actually informed me that many of the Angry Birds developers were actually musicians working on their own Angry Birds songs. Perhaps this is the reason why they did not return contact for Buckner and Garcia competition in the space. Yeah, it might have been like, hey, we've already got we're already working twenty of those Angry Birds songs, so we're good you guys. This is this is the mystery just widens here Karen Murphy from Chicago, Illinois Dear podcast. What's worse walking barefoot through a public pool locker room or pooping in a gas station? Vidy Caravella pooping in a gas station? Death? Barefoot through what public pool locker room? Man, that's a toss up that's come on in a gas station. The thing is, I feel like there are harder Yeah, the public pool locker room can be nartly. Yeah, you know why, because you're more likely to catch something from that locker room. You're right, but it's logical. But my feet are invincible. That's that's the view I have. That's what That's what every dude at the gym that we go to seems to think as well. But but but I feel like, yes, maybe statistics percentage wise, you are the statistically higher or you're more likely to catch something at the public pool locker room. But the thing you catch at that gas station will kill you. What the thing you put your butt down that creeps into your your butt, that is gonna kill you. The rattlesnakes they keep in the gas stations, the feces toilet maybe have you ever used again? I mean, he's talking about like a gnarly gas station bathroom. I mean, yeah, sure, just I'm talking like hubcap on the Also, I think I think we've touched onto something which is which is important here, which is feet are invincible but is not that direct country, Yeah, but is vulnerable as hell. No, you're sitting over there talking about like rusty metal and stuff. I would hope you would look before you sit. Well, I mean sometimes the lights don't work. You never know what's going on there. Uh yeah, I think I would just find another bathroom. Oh it's lights to not work. I don't want to talk about This is a terrible not an option in this nightmare scenario. Let's good because we're out of emails, so thanks to everyone who wrote in. That was refreshing. I'd rather take a ship on the public pool floor than in the bathroom. All right, that's it for the podcast. Emails were done. So maybe you're right. Maybe walking on the floor it was a worse idea because I've done taking a poop on there. Yeah. Then he just said to cop a squat right there in the middle. I mean, I mean you have to walk around in the gas station toilet barefoot. Any shipped right on like the little like grid thing that's supposed to keep your feet off of the time. So it's just getting there in between the little hexagons. So I thought you're gonna say all over like the shower drain and now that the filling up with water, but the water is tainted. Forest of all worlds, law, It's coffee is delicious. That that awful last email notwithstanding. Yeah, that was a refreshing change of pace. I'm glad you liked it good. I was thinking last week you specifically said, you know, you just hadn't been feeling he hadn't found your your thing. I said, I would mix it up for you. So there you go. Thank you. They care. Well, Hey man, that's going. How are you doing. I'm doing okay? Check check check? Had a great weekend? Sound great? Yeah? What'd you do? You did? You did? Sound great? Great? What did you do? Why was your weekend so great? Friday night went out drinking with with an old bartender, which you know it's with a young you know it's from an ex bartender. Yes, my old bartender. Yes, you know. Some people some people have a barber, right, some people have a mechanic. A lot of people have a bartender. Bartender but she's no longer a bartender, so we said goodbye to her there and that was fun. It was good to see some folks and say goodbye to them. And the last time I'll go ever go into that god forsaken bar. So how was how was your rendition of this is how we do it? Oh? We never made it. No, we sat there for a while and made fun of the lesbians and then and then we left. Wait did you actually go in the bar at some point? Oh? Was this was way late after that? Yeah? This was after dude got kicked out of the one bar. I remember that Terry. Was that told dude tried to fight the bartender? Yes? Yes, yes, that was crazy. I had no idea what was going on. I asked around a little bit. He's he's well known. Yeah, no, it's yeah. It turned it. It sounded like his ejection was h Yeah, it was definitely warranted. And then I came. So then I crashed at at a friend's house in uh in the city. Got up in the morning feeling awful, good, proper, good, proper old man hangover. Were you feeling like your calves and you're like, oh, what are my legs hurt? It's like I was running or anything last night or were you just all these counts? No, because I can. I can actually I can plot the evening. So so no, no danger of that. But I got a text from my friends saying, Hey, we're gonna go to the world's Greatest omelet place. I said, I would love to go to the world's greatest omelets place place with you, but I'm too hungover. This is my friend who is a paramedic. Oh, right, And so I said, do you think they would let you run an ivy on me at the Omelet Express And he said no, but I've got the stuff here, so you're gonna cut to my house. We can do that here. I'm like, that sounds great. I will be there. I thought that doesn't work the day I think I had to do it the night before. I absolutely means it's not a flush, it's it's just it's it's just getting all the fluids back into you. Because the worst part about being hungover is the dehydration. So this just rehydratiline bag or something, right, this this he actually had. He had a sailine bag that had like potassium and like electro electrolytes. Yeah, a bunch of like it was. It was actually way better than just pure sailines. Although it turns out I would be just pouring pricari sweat into bags. And it turns out I would be a terrible junkie because my friend could not find my veins on either of my arms, which is why I know here, which that's this is a clear sign something w wrong, something is up in your life. You gotta take care of spending too much time on the bathrooms. Yeah, yeah, so so so I was brutally rebuffed for trying to do an end around on my angle. Did you never get it in? No, he ran out of needles. He tried to do one arm and couldn't find it, and then tried to do the other and couldn't find it and didn't have any more needs. Is he at home? Yeah? Did he have like the orange waste basket or something for the needles? I mean he has the little like it's it's the little tube thing that that's the medical waste seal. Okay, yeah, just throw needles was done. There's like his bathrooms covered in blood and there's just medical waste everywhere. God, and we were just laughing at like this is such a bad next to somebody walking everything about everything about this just looks like the wrong thing. And then he bought me breakfast to make up for it. So so he did wind up going to the Omel Place. Oh hell yeah, how was it? Oh God, it's so good, great place. Dan Taylor there, Don Taylor was was repping Lars and so I had been talking to someone about tie horse fighting and how Don Taylor had introduced me to the concept of thie horse fighting by showing me a picture of himself in a a tie magazine or a tie newspaper. He's like, I was over there on business. Here, look at me in this magazine and then also above No, it's like it's him and like two other people saying there it's it's clearly some sort of proper his blood everywhere and all these dirty needles. But he's like and he's like, yeah, check this out. Here's the article above it about tie horse fighting. It's picture the two horses fucking going at it. So I go to the place and I was telling the story. This was years ago that I saw this this stuff, and I was so blown away. I went. I went to the restaurant and went into the men's room, and he had all that shit framed on the wall in there, so I was totally able, like confirmed, Yes, this is where tie horse fighting. My exposure to tie horse fighting started right here. Thank you, Don Taylor. Welcome thus a baller, still just walking around his restaurant, keeping the law, quality of the waitresses still high, still exactly what you want, right he has. He has not changed anything about the way he does it. This stable. I'm the Express in Railwood Square, Santa Rosa. I cannot recommend it enough. Get the number one. It's the number one. And then I wheeled from there over to my dad's house and checked out a bunch of baby raccoons. My step mom is working for a wildlife rescue place, and so they have like four, like nine week old baby raccoons. I want some adult raccoons. Just I got a storm train in front of my house, like at least forty in there. There's probably some probably, but these are orphans, so they have to be like hand fenn. Are they going to be released back into just gonna go dumb in my storm train? Archie sucking asshole? Yeah, clin no, They'll They'll be at their house for maybe a few more weeks and then they will go back to the the wildlife rescue where they will be we allowed to wild up more. Basically, it's like they're trying to limit human interaction even at even at my dad Ads, they're trying to limit human interaction there. And then they'll train them how to tip over trash, and then I guess they have like there, they're these huge tracts of property, both in like Sonoma, in like Mendocino County, where people who own these pieces of property say, yes, you can go and release animals onto my property sets where they will go eventually, but just baby raccoons nursing rats back while they're at it too, just like how many different suburban annoyances can they possibly? But they're not in the sculpture back down, not yet. I'll find their way there. You get that bus ticket. Well, then that's why you gotta fight them. Yeah, if you want to be in if you want to be in the suburbs, guess what, you gotta fight raccoons. That's why you buy the mole bombs and start throwing them in your storm drains. There's big raccoons are gnarly, they are, Yeah, they do not fuck around like one standing on top of the other one where to tredge Coade trying to get into an orated movie coming up? My buy some girls got cookies? You or not? Girl scouts or not? You're our two raccoons wearing a harpo. Uh so yeah, So all that stuff happened on on Saturday, and it was it was a good time in general. And on Sunday played the Ship out of Trench, finished Trenched. I only have one gold star left together Entrenched, so that was good. And then I also played a little bit of a video game that is called by the title of Bastion. What's that this game? Is that what they changed Trench to in Europe? That's right, Okay, it's not called Bastion. Were you talking about Baston? It's time to talk about I think we can talk about Baston as today. So I believe I am. I'm the one at the table who has not finished the game yet. I believe from talking to Jeff that I'm about the halfway point. So, you know, preface this as kind of we have everything that we've said about Bashton talking about super giant games, you know, we we're pretty close to those dudes, we've we've all known Greg for a really long time, and you know, we've been pretty close to the development process of this game. We've been exposed to huge amounts of this game prior to it coming out, probably more than just about anyone outside of Super Giant Games. Uh. That said, that game's pretty fucking awesome. Game is awesome. Uh, And it was. It was actually something I realized this morning. One of the things that's that's really impressive about it that because I was, you know, because I've seen that game so damn much. We've done those you know, building the Bashton videos and video I'm sure you can attest to this too. I had I had kind of lost sight of just how awesome both the the art style in that game is, just how how good all of the art assets look, but also how striking the like world coming up in front of you, like that thing really is because I just see it for so long, there were landing time seeing well that's assis you know, you'd run around and you're the kid. It's like, oh wait, no, it's this incredible thing where you're kind of wherever you're going, the path is just you know, building up under your feet and it's it's it's incredible when you when you just let the game do its thing, it kind of sucks you in and takes over for a bit. And I think that's the part we were kind of missing, having you know, a mirror and Greg and all those guys come by and show us bits and pieces of the game and then kind of jump out. But once you just let yourself play the game and like get into the world, very different. I was actually really taken aback at how much I had not seen of that game, having looked at all that footage and seeing everything. And I also wasn't entirely sold. I wasn't entirely sold on the like from what what they had shown us on the combat, like, they were clearly going for something that was deeper and more action oriented than you know, your average RPG or it like it always felt like like their goal of like we're gonna make this you know, very responsive, very action oriented combat system for this isommetric perspective. I always felt like those two things were kind of incongruous. I'm not sure why, but it just it seemed that that seemed like an odd combination to me. But getting actually play it and like feeling the difference of the weapons and and you know, kind of experiencing that depth. I was again very impressed with with how all that stuff came together. Yeah, there were a bunch of weapons that I hadn't seen before and stuff like that. Yeah, it's funny. It wasn't until like right before E three that I finally played a part of that game that wasn't just the demo area, right, Like that had been the last start, last part I had seen, and I had played through that demo area like probably three separate times, I guess over the course of us seeing that game, and uh, and then just out of context saw this part there was like way later in the game, and played this part of the way later. It was like and it died like twice. It was like, man, this is actually fucking hard. Like, man, I didn't realize this game was going to be hard. But it's actually just one of those things that you know, as you get used to those weapons and get used to the bad stuff, by the time you reach that point in the real game, it's it's actually not hard. Uh, You're you're perfectly well equipped to deal with that situation. It's just a matter of getting familiar with the combat says there's almost there's like an almost a shocking degree of flexibility in the different options you have and the way that you can customize that the way you can you can play that game like I'm currently rocking just guns slots. Yeah, your guns. I guess what's awesome because the narrator talks about it. Yes, he has awesome shit to say about a dude who rolls around it. They're just guns. There are there are recorded lines for practically every combination of two weapons you can think of to put together. Yeah. No, he had another good one where he was talking about just like the history of this specific weapon combination and like, yeah, just yeah that that that narration stuff. It's kind of it. It's the kind of thing where people are gonna be going around for weeks or months trying to emulate not just the like the gravelly tone of voice, but like the style of speech. Yeah, but they're not gonna do it well because it's really hard to do that well. Yeah, but that game does it really well. Yeah. It's it's it's something else. It's Yeah. I pretty much always had the hammer with me, except in situations where when you're finding new weapons, it's it's swapping them out. I enjoyed most of the weapons, I'd say, but I kept coming back to the hammer and the pistols because those just seemed like the most that was the most effective combo for me. I like, I just don't like the hammer. I just conception get that hammer upgraded. I don't doubt it, But I really like just the speed of like the machete, huh, And I like, I'd rather attack fast bubber. For me with machetis you can't move while you're swinging it, and you swing it so fast that means you stop moving constantly. I did the hammer and the pistols on the Flirt first play through, and I thought, like that with the combination, like that Doug game breaking weapon or whatever you're gonna do with it, because I was tearing it up at the end two and then the second play through, I forced myself to use something else, and then I thought that that was the combination. There are multiple weapons where on the final upgrade slot you can choose to ignore armor, which I think has been Yeah, like that's that's the thing for me that I want out of whatever episodes. Yeah, the pistols can ignore that's all right. Now, I'm just like at a distance, these plant things are closing up and shelling up, but fuck you die. Like that's which is so great too, because I feel like that's what makes the game keep moving forward at a good pace, because like at some point you're like, I gotta dodge block, you know, for these armored enemies, I gotta turn around, do the whole the whole dance. And then at some point you're like, na, not anymore. I figured it out. I'm getting good enough of this game now and have enough spirits equipped and these weapons, we'll just tear through you. Maybe maybe you're ready to turn on some idols. Yeah, what do you think? Yeah, definitely, it's it's probably well, I mean maybe this has been done before. I've never seen it, but it's probably the coolest kind of user customizable difficult. It's the Halo skulls, yeah before, but it's but the way that it's integrated into the fiction, well Halo, a lot of cases the skulls are just for laughs and stuff. There are like a few that are from like certainly for difficulty, but like this is just across the board. It's just this game is gonna get hard as fuck if you turn all this stuff on. Yeah, I turned them all on on the second play through and lasted about twenty seconds. You get destroyed. You beat all the arenas with all of them on, you are you are looking at the current world champion, the Bastion number one champion. Well sure, but yeah, the way it ranks the there's the little combat challenge levels that you can spawn off of the Bastion, right feeling have competition between you and one of the super giant guys on Thursday. You see how you hold up. I don't. I don't know how they handle it because those leaderboards for those combat levels are, at least looking at the leaderboard, they're purely ranked on how many of the idols you have turned on when you play through them. I thought they were specific ones as well, because I took number one by just turning on one idol and somebody else had three out if you look. If you look at the leaderboard, it just shows a row of checkboxes for all ten of the idols, and the more of those you have checked, the hire you up of art. But there are some idols that you know give you a ten percent bonus and something I'll give you a five. Some are considered harder than they are weighted in that. What I'm saying is what happens when one hundred or one thousand more people beat those levels with all ten idols? I think it's gonna sort that list? Or is it just like Braid, we're the first person who did it? Is just pretty You're just number one forever? Now what you're wondering, I hope so. But there's also a score associated no associated with like the story, so the story leaderboard as a score on it. But these other these are three things I do not have number but you may not have good have seen those yet where you're at? You got the first story. Okay, I have to wait for Bastion Arenas to come to Xbox labricat year, but yeah, that came. That game's really good. Every I can't think of one thing about the game that is not. I think I was saying you guys before, where it's like one of those things where I feel like nobody's really gonna believe that we're saying like they can, Yeah, they can take what we say about this am however they want, but I will really check it out. It's really good, dude. I will be I will be shocked. Okay, so by the time this podcast goes up, I will be shocked if our voices or don't just like join a chorus of people saying the exact same thing. It's funny, it's like every I'm sorry, it's well, it's it's just that it's just a well realized piece of fiction, and the mechanics are good and and I feel like it's just long enough, Like it's really fascinated by the story. Yeah, like they paint definitely wanted to see it through twice. They paint the world with such a broad brush, like they establish such a wide ranging fiction. You know, they give so much depth to like the factions and what happened before the game started. And it's just that the characters motivations and what their backstories are, like they fill in so much with so little you know, and then they're they're like again, I'm sure that there's a lot that maybe they speak with more specificity as things go on, but they there's there's a and you know, it's probably all credit to Greg, but there's a good vagueness to a lot of of what you're being shown the work or what kind of the nature of the world was before the calamity. Uh that that I actually really appreciate that you know, able to draw a very specific world without using so much definite information, you know, like the game doesn't need a codex. Yeah, but at the same time, I kind of there are things I would like to know about. Sure, the death is there to support it. Yeah. Well, well it's it's great that they don't just say, here's everything about the world, and now you know everything about it. There you go. Honestly, by the time you finish that game once or you know, maybe twice, like you kind of know everything that you need to know. But there there's room to keep going there. The framework is there to support. So what I'm saying, what I'm trying to say is real time strategy game in the Bashing Universe twenty thirteen. It's read the novelization, read the book. I heard they're getting Jenny McCarthy for it, finally, Yeah, what they needed. I just I mean, there's such an elegance to it. There's like a Brevity's not really the right word, but it's just it's concise. It's yeah, concise. It's only efficient in a way. I mean, because they convey so much information without ever getting in your face. I mean, I guess that was kind of loading screen tool tips end up being really handy. Yeah, like a stuff. They even use those quite well. I just like that for just like the and then the Stranger came with you. Yeah, yeah, okay, there, we don't need like a fucking cut scene or anything more than that's like, that is enough information, right, let's move on. But that narrator really does work. Yeah. I mean, in my personal opinion, I thought, maybe this will get weird, we'll get you know, we'll it be repetitions. But they must have recorded hats off guys, like so much. Even through a second play through, he was still saying different things at certain point. On New Game Plus, there's a lot of like references to the fact that you're playing at a second time really yeah yeah, and even just the even just like what you're doing like this, it's cool. It's it's really cool. Like the narrator or the character of the narrator has got so much attitude, Like there is such a well realized like personality type. You know, it's not just it's not just real boiler plate, you know, kind of third person. He did this or whatever, you know. But every time, like, you do something that he would acknowledge at the narrator would acknowledge like, you know, you pass the point and be like, oh, you know, he almost killed everything in the place, and you're like, fuck, now I need to play this again. Times almost fell to his death. Yeah, a couple of times, like damn six, He's like, wow, I gotta played through it again and not fall Just so, just so it's not all all glowing here, I will say I hate falling off the world. I hate I hate about the first time you do it. The first first time you do it great, first time you do it is great. That was that was about thirty seconds into the game for me, and that was when it clicked. I was just like already taking I really did stop falling off at some point, Yeah you do. And it was still happen here and there. You know, you're getting like a hectic moment and you're just like, you know, or there's like a stack of bodies around the edge of the world and maybe not I guess it and fall Yeah that's not it's not you know, put an end too. Yeah, right now, they're they're smart of of you know, margin using the goddamn hammer, you wouldn't be falling off the world because you'd be up in dude's faces instead of rolling around like a girl with your guns. I mean, they want you to be situational, situationally aware and like you need to keep track everything that's going on all at all times, but they give you the tools to do it. Like one of the other little you get a lot of dudes at point well yeah, but one of the other aha moments when when I first start playing the game, was realizing that when you do that role move, you can change direction mid role like you can roll in an arc if you just use the stick, or you can almost like reverse direction. Like it is so like just snappy and you can you know, you've got practically roll around corners like frame animation. Frames don't get no priority in that game. It's all about just like doing stuff is canceling out of your hand. Yeah, Like one of the tooltips popped up and it was like you can use the role to cancel out of certain moves. I was like, all right, I know, I know who made this game indeed, and also also the music it's fantastic. Oh yes, again, I don't want to speak with specifics, but there's Yeah, there are some pieces of music in there that are fucking in credible, amazing moments. Yeah, largely because of the sound design. Yeah, absolutely, the Yeah, the last the last three minutes of the game has got some of my favorite music I've ever heard. And again, so I feel like we were kind of just going down the entire team person by person. Also, the production value great, the whole thing. It's really organized, really well. Programming could have been better. I'm just gonna say it, but let me tell you, I was not. I was not impressed by the programming. The way they spect out those budgets can incredible. I will say that, Like the one of the weird downsides of like the level of exposure that we've had is that I actually see Logan's face every time the narrator speaks is like, dude, every four or five lines, I see him instead of the character, Like oh no, but I think Logan looks way cooler than the dude they have in the game. That's the only Yeah. The only negative to that is an FMB Logan popping up in the corner just head like yeah, out against the backgrounds. The only the only downside is that whenever they show the Stranger, that's dude, is it's not? Come on. I feel like I got a little bit of unique perspective on it because I purposely didn't watch any of those shows. I tried to stay as far away from the game as I could because I wanted to value the game, like purely on its own merits. It's like you hosted all those shows. You had to cut all that video, like you set the whole thing up, like you guys version Like what what is now? The demo cut off? Like I've played some version of that when we were still in Sacelito, like on a laptop. It was just like oh yeah, yeah, like I had, I didn't touch that game before I got the final version, and then just its fucking floored. It's it's one of the best games I played this year. He sets out on Wednesday. Twelve hundred points Boys, twelve hundred points, fifteen bucks. Yeah, you know, I think I think we think you should buy it. You know, we're not reviewing it for a reason, so you know, go ahead and go ahead and look around see what people think. Yeah, and remember it's and it's an Xbox Live arcade game. So get the demo. Yep, you can. You can try it out for free. What does that demo sold me on? That thing cut off? It cuts off when you build the first Yeah, you build the first thing and when you leave the bashion Yeah really yeah, first time Okay, Yeah, Yeah, that's a decently Yeah, it's a good decent chunk of It's a good decent look at, like what is in that game? Yeah, if you're if you're not sold by that point, I don't know what to tell you, but that, I mean, that part of that game was enough to sell me on this whole idea of looking at this game as extensively as we did and doing all that stuff. So it's definitely coming to PCs at some point. Yeah, they're working on they're working on that PC later this year, I think. Is it as the word? And it sounds like they might be looking into some kind of soundtrack stuff. I don't know. It's it's got cool music. I've seen several people asking them on Twitter for that, people that have gotten it early and stuff. But yeah, well we'll have those guys. We'll have at least Greg and a mirror and Gavin Avn in the office for Thursday, I throw down where we will not be playing Bastion but instead Command and Conquer. Read Alert three, the last game that a bunch of those dudes shipped before Bastion. A lot of those dudes met together at LA, So we're gonna we're gonna take them down memory lane, see what they think about the last game they put together together. So looking forward to that. That'll of course be the PC version, of course, of course, of course fuck around with three sixty version of rts like that. Not crazy Viney Caravella, Ryan Davis going on, man, so that you played some transplates in Bastian, played some transplates in Bastians had hamlets, had burgers, had sushi. H I played, had some euros. That sounds like a pretty It's good. You had a weird food weekend. I had a good weird food weekend. Yeah, it was, it was, it was solid. Enjoyed myself. I watched two Final Destination movies to amp myself up for the next ones coming out a couple of weeks. No, you lost, man, It's okay, It's not for you, that's for me. God. That last Final Destination movie so fucking bad. God damn it, said the three D one. Yeah, oh so it's okay, so bad, And it was supposed to be the last one. It was the one they called the final Destination made it for like forty million bucks. It grossed like one hundred and ninety million dollars, Like, well, I guess that's not the last one of those then. And it was also one of those ones where the like the studio executives were quoted to say, like, we have no idea why this movie made a bunch of money, Like it is completely baffling to us, but we're gonna keep at it. I guess you always want to catch the last one man. Yeah, see the end three. Yeah, it's like, you know, if they go out and say this is our final if Prince goes out and says, this is the last time I want to play any of these songs, you're gonna go and then he said that, he said that, yeah, yeah, and then everyone went, well whatever, everyone showed it for Prince anyway, What would you do? I played some more of I played some more of the Witcher one, make good Progress. I am in chapter two. I think can't believe I think there are only four chapters. I can't believe this this charade that you continue to put on about I'm going to finish the Witch before I'm not fat that's gonna happen. That's yeah, faith and also the books, so they need to translate the other three before say yeah, there's only they don't like two that you can read so far. I think there are three, and they're like three that I don't know. You do only have like four months now though, because unfortunately the game takes place four months one after all the books and everything, so it's like, shit, well, okay, none of this really makes sense. But I played played through Shadows of the damn through through. Yeah, I try to get you to play some Trench. I'm deep in it up here. Trench is one of the best experiences I have had with a video game this year. But I don't know, well, do you haven't finished yet? I just you just finished. I just finished it this weekend. But anyone in our position, I don't know how they could play more Trenched. Yeah, jumping back in with all golds and max level and all that stuff. There was definitely like at some point I was like, man, what am I doing? Like, I don't know why you. I don't know why you were playing, Well, I just finished Bashion for the okay, I'd just gotten all the Bashion is she eve Mens and I was sitting there's like, all right, yeah, sure, I'll jump in for like one, one quick one. Do you ever ever get like game invite anxiety when somebody sends you an invite and you're like, man, I should go play. I just I don't really want to play, but they want me to play. Don't feel that way, I because I am I mash spam like anyone that's online. I'm like, I'm just gonna troll for whoever is available, even if they're not. You're watching Hulu, fuck you, I'm gonna send an invite just so that I did get a full party. So that was just I mess up your office we episode that you're watching. I do feel obligated to respond, though, don't you don't even need to feel that. Yeah, it's it's with me, It's okay. Yeah man, I'm damn I get it. I know what you're playing. Yeah, and I see, Well here's the reason I'm not joining him, because I'm playing shows not anymore, not anymore excuses to come and help me get my last five star. So that game that games a lot of fun. Yeah. Yeah, we were talking about it earlier not selling well, and uh, that's a really tight little package, some really stupid stuff and it's a hot little number. Yeah, and there's some really kind of bad way it's dress falls down us asking for it mant and and then some of the jokes are okay, and then they beat them to death a couple of times. There's so there's this one part where beat to death the gun the boner gun becomes the big boner and you do this like weird turdy kind of sequence and like almost there's like two samples. One is taste my big boner and the other one is yeah, and you probably fire about like a thousand shots. So I say, taste my big boner. Taste my big boner, Taste my big bone. Yeah, taste my big boner. I mean, you're just it's like the world's most awesome sound board. Yeah exactly. It seems like someone like clicked the button like a bunch of times really rapidly, and then like, oh, I think we overloaded it out of the Spencer's gifts and then it was just twenty minutes. So then you beat that part and you gotta do that like that sequence two more times. So they stacked those like turrets sequences on top of each other, so like that stuff is kind of weird. Turrets sequences making games dumb sense eight years ago you kind of see why why did they throw it in for some variety? But I don't know the pacing on that stuffing get better, uh but interesting. I recommend you guys try it out if you haven't tried it out yet, because it's you play it. No. I bought it like three weeks ago. I still love and put it in a check. I got my copy on Friday. I have not played it all right. I mean I played it for the quick look, but I've not started an honest, real playthrough for myself. You play anything, I don't think I want to should try it just from what I played of it before it came out, Like it's seems like a game I want to watch somebody play through just to absorb the humor and stuff. But like the game play, it's not really I don't think it. I don't think it was necessarily that funny, the goat, the goadhead things, or maybe like the personality looking me off it a little bit like, if that's really like the one of them is a lot of that stuff. Yeah, uh, but it's not like it's solid. Yeah, it just it seemed like the kind of game where you would tolerate what it wanted you to play is just to see the other crazy stuff. But I have I have tolerated far worse from shoot A fifty one. Yeah, So like I am, I am happy and eager to play a game of his. That is, I'd rather seek out a game that I really enjoy playing. I love like the gameplay is pretty pretty good just being crazy, It's it's not it's not like it's no matter of what you enjoyed, what is you enjoy about the experience. I'm just largely kind of over third person shooters in general lately. Uh, then you might not like this one, right, but yeah I made it through that and uh almost, you know. And I'm not like a hunt for achievements or stuff, but almost got them all in that one playthrough. Yeah. I saw people saying it was pretty easy, yes, right, so they did the difficulty beating it on difficulty settings is not stack, so you get to beat it on easy, medium, hard. So those are the ones I'm missing. There should be a law in place that says you cannot do this. And the other one, the only other one I missed was like collect all, like the hidden collectible gems, the power up and that was it, and then everything else I kind of got me. So that was kind of weird, kind of making it through there. Yeah, that's a fun game, and that was that was it, because that game's kind of long. Say get burn through that in a weekend. That's fairly long. Yeah. So yeah, and then The Witcher and the Witch. I'm really enjoying The Witcher. I can't wait to play The Witch two. It's gonna out now. Yeah, I've heard you. Just you just start plumbing six or seven. Six could be seven, could be six for the Witcher. When I came out, I just like that universe. It's cool. I know. I can't wait. Just it's gonna be fantastic. You can start right now. Can not know everything? I think I know who else doesn't know everything? The Witcher he always gets to amnesia. Yeah, it's a shame. Yeah, he's got you start with the witcherwot it's a shame. Well, there's a lot of stuff in the books that they was to carry over. Yeah, it's getting related to the chicken. Hold up my whole chicken, but at the store, just ate it right there out in front of the safeway of the parking lot. Got into like an argument with my wife where there's the government's responsibility to regulate business that was heated, uh, which we were listening to the radio show. I was getting real pissed because there was a story on something about fracking, you know, like getting getting gas out of you know, the rocks, and about this I don't know this company that did the real bad things, and so we just got into a fight. And I was like, it's not in the constitution to for government to regulate business. She's like, it totally is, and that's how we fight. You slipped on the couch. Yeah. Uh, then she slipped on the chicken. I walked out. I'm out of here. Let's get some chicken. Slammed the door. I'm gonna eat a bucket of chicken by myself. I feel better. I feel worse. Did you understand me? Chicken? I feel worse about I did about the other things. That's right, come back, I'm sorry. Yeah. It was a pretty mellow weekend. Did some music stuff that was fun music stuff. Yeah, I wrote some tune jam jammed did some jamming. Nice Jeff kerstin Hello. Other than Bastion, you playing anything now? I played about twenty two hours of Terraria. Damn wow yeah wow like act like actively? Actually yeah? For you? Is it all on one area or do you start over? I have a local world going and then a friend of mine has a server running. So so so I've only seen a smidge of that game. I didn't watch of the quick look at all is that it's two D Minecraft, right, but with a little more structure, a little more gaminess. Yeah, there are there dudes to fight. Each world as a dungeon, there's like a stuff you basically there's like items that you can get and interact with to cause things to happen. So, as an example, at night, things attack, uh sort of like Minecraft, There'll be zombies and floating eyeballs and sometimes these floating eyeballs will drop a lens and you get six lenses and then go dig down deep into the earth and find a demon altar. You could turn that into the suspicious looking eye and then if you take that up above ground or I guess you probably do anywhere, but you go up above ground wait, you know, get a good spot where you're ready and fortified and down to fight, and then use the suspicious looking eye at night. It's someone's a gigantic floating eyeboss. So they're like crazy bosses to fight that you summon that way, like shadow orbs you break underground, and all kinds of crazy weapons, some of which you can craft, some of which are just drops. So it's like, you know, you're kind of like looking in chests and digging around random drops and building all this stuff. And so I built some stuff, killed some dudes, just built some more stuff. Basically just you know, hung out with a few friends on this server, just talking shit. And then while one guy was gone last night, me and this other dude filled his castle full lava because fuck him. Nicely done. Yeah, so it's like mine craft. He built it. He built a stupid wall in the house that I built, and granted it was easily removable in about fifteen seconds, but still decided he had a head to pay, so we went punishment was still in order, so we filled his whole castle full of lava and now it's totally unusable. It sounds like a cool castle full lava. It's pretty fucked up because the lava is not under the castles inside the castle. Oh no, it's like a door. Like if you just go I mean it's two d's, he can see it all. It's just the door you open. It's just like lava on the other side, Like open the door, like, oh Jesus, it's the worst. I should have touched the door handles see if it was hot on the other side or what. But it was just lava. Ya. So I kind of feel like I've gotten most of what I'm gonna get out of that out of that because you know, I got crafted a whole bunch of you know, the higher level items and went and did all the stuff and the things that's different from Minecraft is that your inventory carries over from server to server, like your character is the same you take it. Yeah, which is nice because you know, like going and finding gear over and over again like not cool. So but at the same time, like now I have like a lot of pretty good gear, and yeah, there's some stuff that's a little bit better, but I don't really care and I don't necessarily want to like go build a bunch of castles over and over again, So I might be done with it, but you know, it's it's it's kind of awesome they're adding, but it's one of those things where you know they're they're definitely adding a whole bunch of stuff to it over times. But that game is out. It is not beta. It is one oh five is the version number. Do not donate to get early access. At some point I think they were calling it a beta or something like that, but it is definitely above one version one point zero. I wonder if Minecraft will ever come out as a game officially. We're done well, I mean they're gonna release another platforms and those versions just by virtue of being less immediately updateable than have to be or PC version, it will to put it out and sell it on you know, the Android or on Xbox. It will be done there. I thought it didn't we all get discounts when you buy it, dude, you'll get it. Yeah, yeah, updates for life and yeah Xbox version coming on a disc. They said, I don't think so it's connect right, it's connecting chop chop right, Yeah, totally, it's awesome. So it is coming on a disc, then, yeah, I guess so yeah, so I played a whole lot of that and fought giant eyeballs and huge worm giants called balls have legs, no on top of them. No, no flying eyeball that shoots tiny flying eyeballs. It's pretty bad, too fucked up. When you take down half its hit points, it turns into a giant bleeding mouth that also flows around. I gotta play that game. Yeah, I don't know. It's pretty weird. Sounds like shadows of the damn little freaking me out more than shadows of the damn Give me a big boner. If that's there's my big boner. Goofy fun. I'm serious, No, goofy fun. What did you eat this weekend? What did I eat this week topic? I had a box of crackers. I'm sitting down some of that rich crackers, like those uh, those buttery ones, the club crackers, cracker minis. So they weren't sush I think about sociables. That's a different kind of crackers. Is that not? Like it's close to that, it's similar to it. It's like a cross between a saltine and a rip. It's like SALTI it's like like a saltine like form factor but that yeah, that that buttery kind of thicker uh ritz elements top five crackers. Uh, chicken and a biscuits O man n chicken and a biscuits as uh yeah, chicken and a biscuits kind of terrible quantity. Like I want to I will happily eat a handful of chicken and a biscuit. But you sat me down with a box like a flavor, the flavor just gets to be so they're also greasy as hell. Yeah, any of those, any of those like Nabisco, uh like whatever, what are the vegetable flavored ones that are? It's it's it's no, it's comparable. Yeah, like a triske. I couldn't come up. I couldn't come up with triske it. You're joking, I am Josh, I am No. It's the one that's got like vegetables. It's like the way that the chicken in a biscuit is taste like chickens. I don't know. I don't think I've seen that anyways. The same thing of like he have a couple like these are really good, and you have like six more. You're like, oh God, I want to die. YEA does a trisca count as a cracker. Yeah, yeah, okay, nips contas cracker. I mean he's a crackers, he's allowed. He is one cheese that sounds cracker. Definitely a cracker. And also what are you doing talking about cheese nips before cheese. It's I don't know, I'm going through my brain filing. It's a mess up there. I think everything's out of boarders is only as good as what you put on it. I'll eat at some of you. Some of the flavored triscas are are amazing. I thought I find them overbearing with the flavors. But even like one of those rosemary olive oil. Once but a bag of tortilla chips that were like black bean and cheese flavored, and they were actually apparently made out of like mostly plant steriles or whatever, so they're was like weird cholesterol lower ring chips. I buy them for that reason. I bought them because my may bottom for that reason, and I'd ate half the bag and pretty good. So I bought the bottom because they were available at the grocery outlet. Get them all too. No, I don't know those are all right? What I don't know? Yeah, I don't have to look Ray is pretty cool, like that that chip anecdote was going somewhere there. I think they taste good. Okay, chips are good, Chips are good. We're talking about we're talking about chips, we're talking about crackers. I think chips and crackers are are interchangeable in most cases. He couldn't be more wrong in terms of there's like there, it's it's a bag or a box that I reached my hand into and pull food out and stuff the food in my mouth. Well, then that's just then rubbed the crumbs on my pants like they're pretty much identical. Well, then that's true of like taco bell. Taco bell is the same as crackers for you. Then I don't have to wipe taco bell in my pants when I'm done. Then you're not doing it right, I guess not. Is a bagel chip a cracker or a chip. It's a chip, that's a chip. It's called a bagel chip. Yeah, but it kept the format is more like a cracker. I have to say. Yeah, I don't know, it's just it's just a hardy chip. It's like, you know, your criscuits are also good. Just yeah, triskates are good. I don't like to reduce salt ones because the salts what makes them, what helps make them good. You know what makes better? You put like a little piece of cheddar cheese on there, piece of summer sausage on the top of that. She's a cracker. Who does that? I was getting the summer. That was just may paving the way for the summer sauce. It just takes so much work. I have time to put cheese and a cracker. When I was younger, it was it was definitely wheat thin over triske it. But as I have gotten older, I preferred trisket to a wheat thin. I prefer I like that, like the texture, something something I learned about myself. So they make it. They may like triske it chips or trisket like like thee but it's like shredded wheat and cracker. For I really don't like chips, the white cheddar uh, white cheddar uh. When I was a kid, it was rich crackers with American cheese on top. I really learned something about myself too, and I realized, yeah, that's pretty wet, trashy. Let me do that. Rich crack is a classiest ship. Are you talking about no, no, just slice to just tear up some American cheese, single, single serving. I'll tear up some American cheese right now. You know. I never really other than in the grilled cheese format, where I still find it to be king. There was never a lot of American cheese in my life, never eighth process craft single or like a ham and cheese sandwich, not just like not straight into my gullet. No, it was always never wrapped one around a cheese stick or banana, you know, like mister Rogers would Nope, nope, done done either of those. I don't know how much more Sterrary. I'll play all right, but it sounds like you played a lot. Yeah. How late did you stay up, Plantary? I don't know, like two nothing super late, not too crazy. It just one of those things where I was just like, oh the whole day is gone. Yeah, oh well, I was supposed to call somebody go out when we do that. Didn't do that. That's why I was happy with mine. I had the good balance of Saturday, went and did stuff and saw people and went places and walked, and I just started had clothed on angrier and angrier at the weekend. Does it realize that nothing was gonna get done, This gonna be over, This is just gonna be over. Yeah, of course it's eight o'clock already. Fuck. I hate Sunday. I also Sunday was when I realized that, you know, Sunday morning does not stop at noon. When someone talks about Sunday Sunday morning, I think can be allowed to go through pretty much the whole day, uh, if you need it to. In terms of what, yeah, I'm gonna get you this artificial heart by Sunday morning. In terms of how you uh, you know, the the Monday or the Sunday morning attitude, like jas say, I'm saying, I'm talking like breakfast served all morning. K. I'm talking about Sunday morning is a state of mind. It is not a time of day. If you can commit to it, you can have some day morning whenever the fuck you want to be easy like Sunday morning all day. Yeah, pajam pants, yesterday's shirt? Does it end? Why I wear a shirt? Does it end at twelve o'clock midnight Sundays at the magic hour? I think it ends like whenever you wake up Monday morning. What if you have the week off? I mean then you can. I mean, if you're unemployed and you can work it right, you can have Sunday morning forever. But it's like any you need special pants for that. But it's like you need to get head down to the kmart to get those pants. You burn those pants when you were done. Shorts beautiful. Hey Brad, how's it going. It's pretty good. How's your weekend? Fairly productive? Yeah? Clean the house nice? See a good man. I have some pork belly last night. That was good. How's it prepared? So good? I don't know. I just prepared. He's basically bacon, right more or less? Yeah, this is the way thicker cut though than that, prepared and prepared in some sort of Chinese fashion. Okay. Wondering if it was a that's all I know, a barbecue, or if it was maybe a crock pot kind of slow cook situation. How it was made. It just showed up my house and I ate it. That's the best kind. I can't really beat that. Video games any games really keep talking about bashing? All right, it's pretty awesome. It's pretty good. What's up with the only thing I wanted to say I didn't say I was going to uh I was gonna lay one of the concerns I saw expressed on some forms of stuff about how pervasive the narrator is and whether that's annoying. It's not. So I just want to set the record straight. I actually, like I saw, I saw some silly stuff like where people were like, oh, does he just go like oh and he did for thirty seven damage Like, it's nothing like that. It's totally nothing like that, Like how dumb would that be? Well, I mean, you know, if you if you step back and look at that feature on paper, it could be executed very poorly, absolutely, like so it would be really annoying. Yeah, they just don't do it that way. It's it's probably like sort of abstract filling in story and stuffy. It's almost it's very rarely like talking about what you're doing that moment, although when it does do that, it's really effective. Yeah. But anyway, all right, playing other games with the week, I've played the next Summer of Arcade game from Dust. We talked about that last week. No, I can't talk a lot about that. Yeah, that was pretty cool. Last week we couldn't talk about it at all. Okay, it's god game. Yeah, you play Populous, Yes, play Black and White a little bit. It's kind of like that, wasn't there a White two? Okay? I think Populous is great and one of the greatest games ever made. I think Black and White is not man like I love Black and White. When you say it's like that game and that game, I go like, ah, but which one. I think it's less like Black and White from what I've seen them. I have any creature, and you're not like directly interacting with people. I think that was the frustrating I hate interacting with It's way less, well, it's way less sort of mechanical in that video gaming way that Black and White was, where you have like a number that represents how much lumber you have and stuff like that. It's not it's not nearly that it's sort of dense with numbers and stuff, but but it is about you, you know, looking from an overhead perspective and wielding omnipotent. Is there more to it than a mirror terrain manipulation. That's kind of stuff that I saw back before E three was just literally like pick up the sand, put it over here, pick up this lava, move it over here. That's definitely the basis of the game. Yes, okay, yes, cool, you get powers, but let you do different things like turn water to jelly hopefully what flavor water? Water flavor jelly? Yes, boring, boring jelly. Put it on our ritz plaine gelatin. If you get some summer sausage from there. It's a water based loop. I'm sitting here, I'm searching my brain because I can only talk up to like a certain level. Essentially, I'm trying to think what's past that level, and I'm not sure how much I could say. But review next week, uh yeah, and get into more depth on that. I guess I should. I played like the first half hour or so of Captain America the super Soldier. Yes, Captain America First Anger. No, not done, super Soldier, Super Soldier Catain American Super Soldier. I should be reviewing a quick look at that up on the side. Yeah, there is a review, yeah, yes, serious, Okay, all right, it's probably a quick look. Yeah yeah, yeah, these things they've happened already. I heard it. I heard it compared somewhat to Batman. Yes, so that's that's kind of yeah. So the combat, really, the combat is lifted really in a lot of ways out of Batman. That kind of that is amazing I've been waiting for is not executed as at all. Well, but yeah, it is like when you hit the jump button and you were near a dude, you definitely like flip over him and kind of give him a little push as you're going and pushing different directions. As you're doing melee attacks, you bounce from guy to guy to guy. You know, it's Scott counters. Guys will kind of flash yellow if you can counter them red if not. But there's some cool stuff you do with the shield from Washington from from Sitting in on the Quick. Look like when guys shoot at you with bullets from a gun, if you time that just right, you just send those bullets right back Adam with that shield and smoke him, which is which looked pretty satisfying. Also, there's a ridiculous upgrade where you can make the shield ricochet like up to three times and then so it's just like bouncing off dudes and killing them all. It's kind of silly, yeah, like Captain America's God damn, And it's like there's some open world stuff in there, but there's no real reason you're not gaining abilities like like you do an Arkham Asylum or anything like that. So so it's not to say that this game is Yeah, it's not trying to be Arkham Asylum, but the combat is very inspired by, yeah, the likes of Arkham Asylum. And it was one of those things where when I first started playing it, I was like this, this is the worst kind of rip off, and us like, there are definitely some parts of the little kind of grungy and the frame ory of the beginning is kind of kind of bad. But even at the first half hour, I was kind of warming up to it a little bit. And it sounds like it's it sounds like it's okay. Yeah, isn't this u Those the guys who did punch out on the Wei, I guess yeah, Next Level Games. They didn't that. It's kind of weird. Is that again keep showing up in a weird places? Yeah, this is definitely Next Level Games. That seemed like a kind of a prestige project, and then this is just sort of kicking with movie game. Yeah. I don't know, yeah for sure, for sure, I just know. I don't know, if you know, I don't I haven't really been following the is the movie out this week? Yeah? Is it? Really? Does he not have the wings on the side of his Ye, so yeah, that's not down with that. Well, this is like World War Two cats, you're not so you can't have you're not, I guess not. The difference is that is that he is not in his like full blown I am a motherfucking superhero, look at my spandex mode. Yet like they're trying to style it like this guy would actually like go out with soldiers in the field in World War Two. So it's wings painted. Yeah, that's that's on the outfit too. I think there might be unlockable costumes in the game, so maybe you do get that. But I just you know, full modeled wings. That's a part of Captain America to me, and when he doesn't have those, it just looks like a dude. Actually, I really like to look the way they've styled Captain America for that movie. So those are not Nazis no though, it's Hydra Yeah no, no, no, no, just for this movie. No, no, Like the first Captain America comic book has him punching out motherfucking Hitler. Wow, So it's like, no, they were not afraid of talking about Nazis then, But Marvel for this movie is like, this is not Nazis. This is Hydra and it's World War two. That's a fucking comic book movie. You don't like, have a dude named Captain America go and fight fucking Nazis. I don't think there's not a lot of shades of gray in that particular reconflict, you know, I think they could probably get away with no. No, it's yeah, obviously, you know, Nazis are are a decent punching bag. But they want to make it like totally fantastical, not at all serious. I don't know. I mean, Indiana Jones pulled it off, but Jones was also like a but think about the more serious movie. Think about the other ship that inhabits the universe that Captain America is also in, like Norse Gods, yeah, like like four and like fucking Iron Man. Yeah, I guess. But it does take place during World War two. Yeah, and they are fighting Nazis. Yeah. Yeah, it's just that Captain America is not out there fighting Nazi. He is fighting hy Okay, so world War two is happening this, Yeah, it's not like Nazi Nazis. This is the focus is like it is like that, Yeah, that's weird and kind of a different way, but I mean it's definitely yeah, well I'm sorry, yeah, I mean where they're kind of like talking in in you know, they get German sounding accents and actually saying like hyle hydra. That was the part where I was like, all right, guys like strown up to it, like stop screwing around. You want to give your Nazis weird cattle prods and fantastical you know, weapons that don't exist. Like fine, we've all seen that. Yeah, we've all see you know. Yeah, obviously the Nazis were deep into the occult and they made robot suits that Hitler ran around it. I mean, this is obviously this is It's in the history book. Yeah, you know, read your Bibles. But it felt like they were tiptoeing around it with this Hydra stuff. And I don't follow the comic enough to know if that's a thing from it, and well I can't, I don't care enough to find out. So yeah, yeah, so that that's stuck out to me as weird. But but whatever, not the I think it's worth just like it's you know, not having a bunch of giants swastikas all over your same Yeah, like this is a good like all right, we're not fighting the Nazi direct kids kind of it's hydra release in Europe and Germany, sure, and all those places without painting it all out. So places where America is awesome. It's especially when he's a Captain Captain where where that movie is coming out under the name Captain America. Almost everywhere there's like only like three regions where they opted to go with First Avengers as the whole title and said Americano you would have you would think, you know, I hope Captain America. I want catch. I played a little bit of Cathulu Saves the World. M it's a weird steam down a little game. They well, quick look that, okay, I think we will all right, Do you don't want do you want anything about it? Now? I can't tea yeah, Like I played like that first ten minutes so Breath of Death seven and couldn't decide if it was funny or not either. I got I kind of liked what it was going for, but like by the end of that chunk of time, which was just me figuring I'll like, should we do a quick look this or not. By the end of it, I was like, all right, I get it there. RPG conventions are hilarious. Uh yeah, there's that an intimates bush Man. But that was it. That's really it. Are you sure that's really really? I don't a little more puzzlation too, but that's really it. I played some more puzzlation too. It's good. It's good. Terraria. Tell me about ter Aia Jeff's I was gonna call it a video game, but now I'm not so sure. It's art. Okay, well I love art. Yeah, I know you do. All right, let's move on to a break. Yeah, let's move on to a break. Good call. 'll take a break and come back with the game news with whatever we haven't done yet. Yeah, yeah, nice going. Now we have no idea what's going on. I'm keeping you on your toes. You don't know. I know my toes are tired. Come back for more toes and we're back with the top plays in baseball for today. Jeff Gerstman, what's going on? Two second half ball? Now? So it matters more, But ironically I'm watching way less. Do you know? Huel Houser has an actual Twitter account, and it sounds and it sounds just like everything Huell Houser ever does. Just everything's just always so excited and confused. I would have it no other way, childlike Wonder and Hugh Houser. That sounds fantastic. Are we are? We past the the All Star Game happening? Yeah? All Star Game happened, and no one gave a shiit it? Yeah, no one gave a shit. They've reached the same point that football did, where it's like most of the players that you would want to play in that game, most of the players that the fans are voting in, are like, oh, I'm not gonna go play and that I'll get hurt or you know, why play more baseball than I need to. I gotta stay healthy from a team because they also, I mean that's kind of fair because they play a lot of fucking baseball. They do. Yeah, but you know, at the same time, like I used to that used to be one of my favorite things about about baseball was All Star games, you know, the home run derby and all that stuff, and just like, oh man, these are like the two best possible teams they could put together, and if the people that are getting voted in are not playing, and then at some point it's like why even have the game? Yeah, you know, maybe they should just start having it like they started doing the Pro Bowl, like between like in that off week between the end of the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Maybe they need to do something like that. So it's like any player that's not in the World Series, you know, maybe they have it like between like Game four and five or something like that, or whatever they're traveling or something like that. Throw the All Star Game in there. The very real concern is that you may keep your team from getting to the series if you fuck up. So you go, you know, have it, you know, way late postseason, you know, once the world's in the middle of the World Series. Throw it in there or something like that. Get old guys, just get guys who are legends. Game talking. Yeah, Oral, hirsh eyes are doing these days, not much announcing somewhere. I think, okay, yeah, get him out of here and get him off his ass off Broadway. Yeah he's announcing off Broadway. Yeah, yir con is the actor. Did you get onto the stage? Oh he delivered that line with such panash. You're given Oral hrshis are way too much credit. No, I don't think he's actually like I don't think he's an announcer. He might just be like a desk guy at ESPN that is talking about highlights analysts. I think they called them baseball analysts consultant. This game is good, all right, great, thanks for analyzing it for us. Yeah, good work. It's also how I analyze games too. That's good. That's pretty good. It could have been better. It's fun. I don't know. I didn't really like it. It's a little dated. A sorry about news. Okay, emails, No, no, I already did that, already, fuck you doing it again? You know your muscle memory? No, we're out. I ran through them all. Bring that beat back? There are no You want me to rewind to that? Yeah, I can't. I can't rewind it, and I'm sure there's much to Jeff Green's chagrin since I can't rewind it back to before Electronic Arts bought pop Cap. That happened last week. Nice, thank you for seven hundred and fifty million dollars. It's a lot of money. Yeah, or like starting price of seven hundred and fifty million dollars, where if PopCap performed to a certain to certain expectations, get up to like a billion, which, now that's a big talk about a billion dollars. Actually actually saw one point three at the outside. Yeah, one way three on the outside. Yeah, you're right. Let's just I'm saying you hit a billion, say one point three. I give a shit about that point three. You talked about a billion dollars. Yeah, I don't know, if you notice, I already have a billion dollars here. Do you know how much that is? I don't even know how much that is. I have the billion dollars. What do I do with billion dollars? We're not gonna go buy with a billion dollars. No, make plass versus zombies too. That's what I'll be on my yacht. So they leave that to someone in the E A casual group. Yeah, you guys get you guys, have fun, work out the rest of this contract. Me two and then piece. Yeah, that's it. PopCap is wholly owned by Electronic Arts. I'm sure there's still paperwork and things of that nature. You know, they've said, like, oh the seap here is, we're not gonna mess them up. We're just gonna let them do what they do, huh, which sure, yeah for now, not at all a common phrase whenever someone is buying someone else. Yeah, no one ever says he We're gonna come in here and dismantle this whole organization, this thing we bought. We bought it because we think it could really use some fixing. I've got some real good idea. The not have a consistent and deplorable track record of doing the exact opposite. Well have they done it recently? I don't know. Remember bull Frog? No, what's that telling me all about? Remember Origin? Yeah, that's where I can go to get exclusive videos of all of the a's hot new Remember Westwood. Westwood did themselves in with Earth and Beyond. Yeah, they they nailed their own coffin with their with their crazy space MMO that didn't pan out. I'm just saying litany of oh no acquisitions. But then also example examples are so old, like like the business was not had not reached a maturation. How many how many developers have they been acquiring? Che Lingo, play fish Fish, I mean they're all social, and the guys in that mobile area, I mean, I don't know if they're firing them up or not. But Criterion and Dice are two examples of you know, developer relation and ships that have not been But whatever, You're right that they yes, the common yes, the the knee jerk reaction, that the track record is that there is a trail of scor stirth and broken dreams behind everything. EA Boys, absolutely or anything that any company someone's sad. There are a lot of a lot of reasons internally, and I'm sure it makes a lot of great sense for everyone involved. Yeah, sometimes she don't pan out. I'll try to think of any case where that's not actually true. Blizzard maybe, I guess for now, Yeah, that's the thing is it's it's it's all that gravy trains. It's great until it's not those things where it's it's it's even the ones that didn't go that way still could. Indeed, it's not. It's not we're not done with anything yet. But yeah, pop Cap I must have been a good paycheck for them then, because I can't imagine why they would want to be bought. They seemed like they were doing a okay, pure prop it from the outside. Because when companies founded by three people and when you're like here's and say Okay, well, all right, that's the only reason I think. But how well those principles get signed into contracts where they have to work there for X amount of time later Yeah technically, technically, yeah, technically I work and maybe they stay. You know, maybe if they're having a great time and making great games and hitting all their marks, you know, maybe maybe those guys stay on after the fact. But that's yeah, I didn't real the company and sell it and then work out that contract, and then all the money you got for selling it is the money you disappear with. I don't understand how pop cap did they like pay out developers or is it like we we buyer like they made all internal stuff. They never never like like, hey, you guys are doing pretty well over there with how they got Jeff Green on man publisher stuff, all internals, just all internal. Yeah, he's just got the chance. He's just holding up a giant check twenty five bucks. I really do want a giant check at some points. Jeff Green's giant check. So Jeff Green now backa back home. He works for pop cap, so and you know, if if if what EA saying is, we're not gonna fuck with pop Cap I'm not sure what that's going to mean. So there are only stipulations. We get the funk with Jeff. That's right, that's right, it's a billion dollars. But also we get to make Jeff Green come back and work for us. And then there was just some amount of like he said, what right, Oh, well we'll show him. It's just he's just like one meeting where like, Jeff, somebody wants to see you in office, door shuts, lights are off. I told you i'd get you back, mother told you you can never leave. How much did we? I don't care. You're back with me. Martin Sheen comes out of the wall. So maybe this is, uh, this is the uh, the counter Old Republic move that keeps Rickeatello in at EA, even if Old Republic is a complete disaster, because this is, you know, pop cap at this point just looks like money grant. They've spent a ton of money for them. Yeah, but it's a very desirable space to be in right now. And how well did Bejeweled three do any idea? I don't know. I guess it's there. They're good question. I have a company and they don't really sell through traditional traditional but they do. I mean, there was a box version of Jeweled three, but now rip that shit out of Wow because they're putting it in an older public. Yeah, exactly, you got Jeweled and Wow, we got Pegel. Motherfucker isn't so yeah, yeah you go, man, all that stuff not anymore. I'll probably still be there. Yeah, whatever revenue stream, that's right, get that money. Well, congratulations to the Dow. Uh extremely extremely well because those guys were already ridiculously wealthy. I know, I oh, the guys that sold all those copies of the Jeweled and plants for zombies and all that other super popular stuff. Right, the guys that owned the company that was a company that had to be bought for upwards of a billion dollars. I bet that they already were doing okay, But now you're like, like unreasonably rich. Now you can buy super yachts, and you can buy a boat that's big enough to land a helicopter on congratula. No right, it's brass ring. Negotiations are just higher, No think higher, no more higher. You've got a number in my head higher and it's a lot. Would you guys really buy yachts if I had that much money. I probably not. I'm not literally asking if you would buy yachts. I'm just asking you. I don't know that I would ever do whatever lavish equivalent you have in your mind. Owning a boat sounds like a hassle, right, but no, when you're that rich, When you're that rich, it doesn't matter other people on anything. I'm not talking about boats, just abstractly, airship I would buy. I've said it before. When when we make all our money off this website, now I'm going to buy it disused missile silo and moving. That's what I'm talking about. Like, just like, what is what is ridiculous expenditure? What is your weird grand fucking you have to have two people turn the keys? I mean that's what you're asking. That's what I'm asking because travel, honestly, well really absolutely just up and down. Yeah, we can't do that. And we have to go to China. I don't know I had to go to I would have had to have gone to Russia anyway, So all the stuff to do that, Oh you're talking about like Richard Garrett style. Yeah, okay, because like the virgin galactic stuff I've seen does not look especially appealing no, it's not you're talking about yeah, straight up like space you're talking about You're talking about like actual, actual state space program. Yeah, okay, yeah, you might be into something there. Yeah really, yeah, I don't space. I'd go to the space station and hang out. I don't think I want to go. I wouldn't want to build some ship in space. I want to have athing in space. I don't think. Yeah, I don't think there's I bet there are less than like ten private individuals on the planet who could fund something like that. Well, then I ain't even more subscribers that ain't even popcab acquisition money, Giant Bomber slash World Tour. I don't know. I just asked, because the World Tour will go to space if we get space. I think a submarine would be cool. The big appeal of being that rich to me is knowing that I will never not be able to feed myself and pay that's not and that's not billionaire money, Like, yeah, that's that's definitely. I feel like though, whatever weird money dreams I've got are are mostly centered around like the concept of not having to worry about money, not necessarily going out and stupid. I think American nature, or maybe human nature, is to always live x percent above your means. So even at that point, you would have a house that is like, fuck, man, I I buy this ranch in this big house, and I could hardly make the payments on this eight million dollars mortgage. I must be the outlier because I will totally go a Warren buffet style and just too bed a brick ranch house. That's that's all that money. If you're not using it, then just in case, swimming it just the giant screwe fucking money bank. I change it all in the quarters. All right, let's start a website about video games. Yeah, website A good way to lose all your money, man, start, I'd start a website about video game websites. Let me know if you're hiring. I know a thing or two about your game websites. I would maybe start a restaurant, because those always lose money and fail. What is it? What's the restaurants succeeds or something like that? Like the first three years, right, they're all failed. So I'd probably do something stupids that. Yeah, okay, I get behind that for sure. Little roller rink in it, wow, restaurant and a roll and is it more roller rink or more restaurants that's which you want. It depends what you want to do. You put some hammocks in the quarter, sure, it would be like a super fancy I'm never going on rank. Ye just got food roller skates on the rink. No, that's a safety hazard. Maybe I was separate eating. No, what I'm saying is that is that the rink is where the tables go. And then your tables are on roller skates and they well, well then they're totally that's appropriate for them to be. But you actually just sit in a stand in a stationary chair and then the table comes to you. It's it's pushed you by waters who are also on roller skates. It's like a it's like a buffet, but like you're always sitting in the rolling chairs and just gonna roll around to the different areas. And it's just the most authentic basque food that you could possibly find. But I don't know how to roller skate. What does this mean for me? Well, you're sit in a chair. Yeah, it's in a chair right now you get the experience and it has wheels on it. It's like your roller skating, but but skates is an ideas start get my what is that kickstarter? Kick started sil or. I will do a web cast. Oh you get from this fucking nothing. Just get to a semi regular radiation poison video stream. Do you want the sort of blowground a pistole silo that's uh, does not betray its existence to the outside world. I want to like shack and then you walk inside the shack and there's a fucking metal door in the ground. Yeah, there's want spies like us. It's just folded. There's two way mirror. Yep. I feel like even the shack is too much. Oh you just want just like an invisible way to get into that thing. I just want like a rock and then you move the round the side and there's the hole. Yeah, and you gotta climb a down all these Is it functional? Does it launch anything? Is there a missile in? No? No, no, because where the missile was is where you live in the silo. It seems cold. Yeah, it can be. It's like the lack of daylight would be an issue at the top. Get a bunch of moon roofs. Put in what I'm saying. You know, there's a giant hole where they had to let the missile out open that door. All imagine it's probably credible amount of work to get those doors. For whatever. You're buying a fucking missile silo. The feasibility of all of this means nothing. Yeah, they're not as expensive as you would think, but I mean as far as just the absurdity of whatever you have to do to get it into a livable condition. Yeah, yeah, bring a mattress down. Done, I think figured it out. How do you get food delivered? Though? How do you get comcasts in their install your Yeah, well I think you know. That's the thing is, you'd probably have to have like a garage or some other above ground placed to park a car. Then it's like a batcake style thing. Yeah, all right, all this food for this tiny little house. This is crazy. And then who knows, Ye, well I might hit everyone in the area probably knows, because like I remember when Don went out and built that missile silo for the government. Well, maybe he can launch your like spaceship out of it, you know, like on the midst of you guys could work together. Yeah, I gotta go to I gotta go to Russia. Well they can come to you, man, We'll build our own rocket ship, just like Explorers. You get that bubble technology. Just find aliens that only know I love Lucy And Yeah, a lot of weird dreams. It's only a matter of time before I dream schematics to something. It's probably going to be some kind of spacecraft. No, all of your dreams are like sex violence dreams that that doesn't lead to space exploration. Because he talks about them about beating what was it marmosets a possum to death on his bed with a it wasn't my bed, it was a bed even worse, anonymous beds covered in bloody possums that you beat with the worst podcast ever. Zinca wanted to buy PopCap. They didn't, Yeah, but they did get Mark Turmel. They did, Yeah, the creator what the creator smash TV? Yes, and have that happened? Giant check and went to work. Yeah. They brought out the giant novelty checks as Zinga is want to do, and it said it said pop Cap crossed out and then it said Mark Trammel, here you go. The some just said big money, big prizes. I love it. He's like, well, I guess I can't really turn this down now you're speaking my leguash. I guess that's it for blitz. Uh, don't be so sure on your iPhone. Mm hmm. But they're they're started there, they've been pulling like more. Yeah, high level EA sports guy went over went over there a little while ago, and and some of his guys looks like, left with him. I don't know if this is part of that or something different, but so Zinga is owned by itself, Zinga is na is eventually going to go public. That's yeah, well not too big to get bought, but big enough to IPO mhm. And then what will we have? I wonder I didn't take the possum baton thing as a sex violence stream. That's just I don't know. It was on a bed. A lot of things happen on a bed. I review most of my video games on a bed. I think we're we'll come back next week. Our time is up here, Jeff, but we'll come back next week a breakthrough. I wonder what the future for Zinga is, like, I you know, it's they're they're not particularly well loved for the games themselves by a lot of people. Well, it's like they have, like, you know, a bunch of the ELA guys, like the CNC guys, some of them split off, Like there's the guys that want made Bastion, but then there's also a bunch of other dudes that went and formed an LA studio for Zinga. And as far as I know, they haven't done anything yet, or at least publicly, I don't saw that it looked like they were changing offices, going to a bigger office. Yeah, I wonder, like, you know, it can't just be Facebook Games forever, because like it's gonna be Google Plus games. But you know, just as they are so fucking all in on that format right now on the you play this on Facebook, and I think even like it's it's part of the some of the stuff that they were was. It was that them where they were like Zinga some part of their financial something or other part of the disclosing for getting ready for an IPO that they were like, Yeah, and you know, one of our risk factors is what if Facebook goes away, we'd be pretty much fucked, like like admitting that a lot of their successes is dependent on uh, women sitting around not watching soap operas and instead of playing zing games. So that's as Yeah, that's so so I wonder, so I wonder where it where it goes, Like I wonder like if they're aware of that and they you know, really they need to diversify, Like, yeah, you can get some Zinga games on you know, Android and iOS devices and whatever. Yeah, but I feel like, if you're going to be that big and that strong, it needs to be more than that, needs to go further than that. That's one of the things on some panel talking to the Zinga dude, I guess about you know, what are they displacing when they're all these all this time spend on their games. And the guy's answer was literally soap obbers. There aren't really soap oppers anymore or more going away and makes sense. That is apparently the like the target demographic is, I'm not I don't I don't think I'm don't think I'm out here being sexist and making weird assumptions about that is it's market plan. That is, that is what they do. They're doing well and whatever, My children's going away because it makes sense. Mafia Wars is way better. It makes sense because it's an untapped market. Like that's the thing is, you know, you want to scrabble over the same guy who's trying to buy Call of Duty, or just go where they scrabble. Uh no, words with friends? Sorry? Yeah? Do you want to just words with friends over you know who's playing Call of Duty? Or just go over here where no one's marketing games and uninstalled my with Friends games? Yeah? Yeah, Why, I'd had enough about getting into hanging with friends. It sucks. No one hangs. When you win, you stop hanging. I mean, it's not hanging man with friends, hanging with friends. Is there a g n end I'm hanging? Yeah, there is. That was hanging. That's hanging. I'm out. Yeah, I'm out. It's not like hanging with mister Cooper. Yeah, but with scrabble tiles and sort of hang man. That's what I would do with my money, is I would bring back hanging with mister Cooper. Yeah, as long as you had a clear goal Mark Curry, I'm going to give you a career again. Would you start with a movie the kick it off? We would just go righty, No, I launch a TV network. It's like Paramount in the fucking seventies when they were gonna bring back Star Trek and that was gonna be they're gonna start a new a TV network, and they were gonna have a new Star Trek show and that was going to be the anchor for it. I'm starting a new television network, Hang with mister Cooper. That's that's probably Actually the ridiculous thing is I probably wouldn't be too far off, like if I had like stupid money, like like all kinds of you weren't worrying about it. Yeah, I would probably Actually they start some side, some sort of ridiculous content network that appeals to you me yea, And yeah, it would be it would literally be like me saying like, come along for the ride if you want, and I'll hosts a talk show and you can call in and we can talk about video games or whatever. But primarily, yeah, it's gonna be like I thought it'd be really funny to do a sitcom star and this guy, and and I fully funded it the production thereof it's money making money right there exactly. That'd be. It's how you turn billions into trillions. Kid. Uh. Microsoft is gonna publish skulls of the show Gun. So yeah, props to those guys and any guys getting there's getting getting publishing deals deals. Yeah, yeah, it feels good. Yeah. Uh, and that's kind of all the news. So EA bought pop cap Uh, Zinga bought Mark Tramel or you know, they're renting Mark Tramel at the time being, and at least with an option to buy indeed, and Microsoft is doing a deal with the skulls of the show gun guys. Sou just saw a story right before we came back in here. Yes, the voice actor from Morden soulis Aspect two. Yes, has not yet been approached to record any dialogue from Aspect three. However, you'll remember that Morden was in the E three demo and spoke lines. Yeah. So this guy, this guy confirmed that that was not him. Huh, Well, guess what good enough. It's weird because I saw that and I was like, fuck, it's the best character in the game. They're gonna fuck this up. And then I went back and watched that thing. I couldn't tell the difference, and you're like, oh, yeah, this is good enough. I don't know how they don't know what the deal is. To be really disheartening if that guy heard you say that, I mean about oh, I'm not specialized as I don't know, maybe it's maybe it's lines they recorded for two that they had line around he's stuck in there. I don't know the LC that never got pretty sure. It sure sounded like him that he said it was not him. I mean that character always sounded a little processed, maybe a little man like. There's there's definitely something being done to that boy doing all the things I can do. This might just be really he was just really talented voice actor. Finally, I don't care, go James, James, vega your thoughts. It is that the guy from the trailer that they redesigned to not look like that guy? Is that? What is he in the trailer that wasn't him in the trailer? Like the British guy? I don't I heard someone saying, and I cannot confirm this in fact the case, or if it's just internet crazy talk, but that this is a redesigned version of uh Jason Statham from that was those first mass effect trailers of bald British guy. I don't know, I don't know. I don't know if that's the case or not. But this guy is not I'm missing some point or looks to be British. He's a character and it's a redesign of that dude. Redesigned that dude. I don't see how that's possible. Yeah, because they went totally the wrong way. It's a it's a new character, that teaser trailer when everything this was just a shot. I don't know that this guy has been in any video ever. I don't think. I'm not saying he has been. I'm just saying that, like that's conclusion that some people are jumping to, and I don't know if that's rooted in any sort of reality or not. There's only been two shots of this character put out, but the Mass Facts fan community was in a minor uproar over the dude broianness of this character. He's just like total space marine like neck Tattoo and Foehawk, and I mean there's space it some stuff. I don't know what about fucking tattoo lady from two. It's like she was not great either, you know, God, I thought she was fine. She was a good character. But I mean, if you're gonna take someone a task for neck tattoos, like roll it back in from that, it's more than that. Take like the guy. You know, he just looked like he belongs like he looks like this is the fifth guy and kill Zone no one. No one wants like practically the fifth guy in Delta Squad. All right, none of those none of those people want a character in the game that reminds me of someone that beat them up in high school. Like I get it, but I don't even like that. Like it's you're allowed to have tough guy assholes in your sci fi universe, like that could happen, and a Shepherd Sun The whole thing is that he's a guy who is, you know, as an Earthling, is totally unfamiliar with galactic politics. I don't know. I have no idea Space racist. Yeah, he does not look like he could literally be your space racist. That'd be an interesting character in that in that team hang out with Space racist Shepherd. This guy's gouber Alice Shepherd. Uh. That's all I got for news. That's it. Uh huh email email. That's the other new thing is that someone up to It's just you saying it over and over again. It's okay, fine, not fine, you can keep saying it. I don't want to. I don't care talk about what they do. Releases. They're coming out this week. Laying on me. Call of Warrez the cartel coming out for PlayStation three and Xbox three sixty. It's modern day now in Call of Warrez. Thank god. Yea, it would be soft Sorr. It's zero day every you be Saft bringing the thunder this week? Three release, four releases Who from the French Giant. I love that book, Andre Late French Giant. Please. They've also got Smurfs for the Nintendo DS. I guess that movie's coming out, that's probably this week. I can't believe the trailers for that movie. I know. Wait, what Smurfs Smurfs? They put out Smurfs game. Yeah, Smurfs movie to go along with the Smurfs game. No strike that they're putting out two Smurfs games, Smurfs Blue and Smurfs Red. No, it's smurty. It's Smurf Smurf for that and Smurfs for Nintendo DS. That's just Smurfs. But then there's also for the Nintendo we Smurfs Dance party. Finally, Wait, were those Smurfs red or purple? Remember that episode of Smurfs where they all turned evil? Yeah, they all ran around making that sound which I think went something like gnipe. Yes. I don't. I have about this in like twenty years, but it just popped into my head that I'm pretty sure they're a purple red their hats thinks the whites the way for a car blink kid, Yeah, they could do with every purple sounds like the about the worst possible way to run that. That's how they get like green guys for the brown guys. Shit, can't tell you everybody. Uh. And then also Just Dance Summer Party for Nintendo. We So I saw the box off for that. I said limited edition on it and I was like what, Yeah, are they only going to sell it in the summer? It's the only summer jams man. So they've dropped the sequel numbering from the series. Now now they've been blown up, so they could just crank about as fast as possible. But the Smurfs one is not just They're still like yeah, yeah, I have to imagine that the Smurfs Dance game must have leveraged just dance technology. Yeah, that has to be silhouetted. Why would you build that? Again? Yeah, I don't know this great question. Well, I mean that whatever they are building, I mean the Black Eyed Peas game is not at all Just Dance on three sixty and stuff. That's because even Just Dance three is starting to just rip off the Dance Central. Yeah, so that's three games. Nut's four games, the Cartel, Smurf Smurfs, Dance Party, and Just Dance Summer Party. So that's one game. It's four skews. What do you want from me? And then also Captain America's Super Soldier for Xbox three, sixty, Nintendo DS, Nintendo We in PlayStation three on Steam in North America. This week, We've got Ill two Sturmo Cliffs of Dover just came out in Europe a while ago, but just not getting it in the US. It just took a long time to local eyes. If someone just spoke up one more, I say, oh fuck, I knew I forgot something. Oh we forgot to put that out, didn't we that? Yeah? I don't know. Good question. PSN. Limbo come to PlayStation Network this week, dead Block come to PlayStation Network this week. All right, I can stay with some confidence that you do not want to get dead Block Limbo though. Yeah. I like Limbo, and I heard someone saying that they were adding something or doing some some bonus shit. For Limbo and PlayStation there's maybe some content or flashlight us see everything. That's right. You can just turn into light World and you can just turn see everything. Just hit the square buttons. No crazy, Okay, that kid has a mustache. That's weird. Weird kids a robot most of a mustache. I never thought that he was a robot. But the one I'm most excited about PlayStation Network this week Fast draw showdown from Digital Leisure. Yeah, Digital Leisure for your leisure. Uh. This is a contemporary to Mad Dog McCree. Sure uh FMV light Gun game coming to PlayStation Network. Already released as a we Wear dame. Yeah, it came out last year as a we Wear game, or maybe it's in the year before that. God, uh yeah, a while ago as we Wear a game. We weren't been around that long, Manuh. Truly a rich and storied history of amazing software. Gosh no, I know. So it's always the worst though, when you like, like, oh, there's this new game. Oh wait, it came out and we were a while ago. Well that's why I don't know about it. That makes it's still effectively new to most people. I'm excited about this because it gives me a reason to bust out my mad Dog and Creelas disc later this week. Yeah, so we can do a compared contrast. Speaking of we wear Uh, did you guys see the Netflix? Does we talk about the Netflix on three DS last week? No? No, because it happened on like Thursday. But yeah, Netflix is now on three DS. I haven't gotten it yet because I got the press release from Nintendo in the morning. I can't find my three dst that. Finally, I think that's a record for how long it's taken me to like misplace a handheld. And it always like I misplace it and then don't notice for a long time and then it's like, oh, this game showed up, I should find that. Oh wait, when was the last time I even saw it? Yeah? I had in my bag for a while and then the battery died, so I took it out of the bag and then I don't know something. We got that pac Man Galaga thing. I wanted to play that, but I want to see it for myself fair enough. I need to know it's important. Yeah. Oh oh yeah, and Bastion of course for Xbox Live Arcade fifteen bucks, picking off that summer of arcade. Yeah, for real. It's the only problem is it's kind of a email away to end the show. I'm mind starting with the emails. I gotta figure it, figure out how I don't. I gotta say I don't like starting with emails. No, I liked it because I caught everyone off guard. I'm not going to start with emails again next week because you'll you'll be expecting it, and that won't be fun. You won't, it won't have the intended effects. I think the default order of the show as a flow to it that has peaks and valleys built in naturally. Not in terms of quality, but in terms of whether this is about video games, yes or no. So we had all of our let's not talk about video games content upfront. We always have a ton of let's not talk about now we have up front. I'm saying we had all of it. That's a good point. That's a good point. You know what, valid So I need to keep need to keep the what you've been playing and the emails segments separate. Yes, is the issue going from directly from one to the other, just not even questions? Would you get in your inbox? I should check my email? Yeah, you know some good press releases. I always flipped through, what's Walgreens doing anything on sale? It's the first email in my inbox. So let's take a look here, Friends and family shail extra ten dollars fifty dollars online back to school work. Yeah, somehow I had managed shopped out of him. Did you get out of the horrible loop? I get them like in eight different ways to have terrible I haven't. I haven't seen Walgreens email and a couple of months. How we got on that list? The worst? We bought something from Walgreens with star email. You know what is a climactic way to end the show? All of us are leaving. That's that's really the natural. That's the only natural conclusion you could reach. I've got one more email you got and we're gonna end on that. This comes from something to Emails. This comes from Sam Wooster in Kingston, Ontario. Hey, bombardiers, I was just watching Gross point blank for the first time the other day. I noticed the arcade machine in the ultramart shootout scene is for Doom two. Did Doom two ever actually come out for arcades? Or is this some kind of apocryphal interpretation of what arcades were like in the mid nineties. This is this half assed product placement or just a case of the filmmakers not really understanding video games. Yeah, I think it's I think it's the filmmakers not understanding video games and wanting something that they recognize as a video game for that scene. It's really weird that they would go to the trouble of gemming up that machine. Ye with that game really like I was opposed to just like a random machine from somewhere or I don't know. Well, it's good. I mean, the thing is, like it works well in that scene because there's the guys playing the arcade machine is completely it's violent game like that. That's it's it's the joke is a joke. Kinges on that game. He's totally into this crazy violent game and then behind him there's a crazy gun fight happening in his convenience store. So if you were talking about that movie, hold up, yeah, yeah, really I think it does. Yeah, totally, I think it does. I really like that movie. Yeah, because it's more I mean, it's it's you know a little bit of you know, nineties character stuff, but it's also like it's a it's a crime fiction movie as well. That's fair. It kind of balances those parts pretty well, I think. Yeah, I still like it. Jeff, what do you got? I got some stuff from last week. This is from Thursday. Uh and this is out on DSi ware Extreme
