A Vision Autos text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. In this audition sponsored by the t J. Smith Law Office, if you call TJ, he'll make them pay and I will say to you I was thinking about this driving in. First of all, glad to be at Don Franklin. Thanks to all the folks here in Campbellsville for showing up. Appreciate him. Don Franklin driven by Family twenty nine stores around the state. I was thinking about, okay, non sports. Now, we do have a game tomorrow and we will talk about it, but non sports shows people have looked forward to over the years. I was trying to think of some of them. Drew, you have when Ryan spent a week in chos Bar Jail. I think that was one people really want. People really liked the Republican and Democratic conventions in twenty sixteen, and then the Iowa Caucuses in twenty twenty. Shannon's walk during COVID when he walked fifty miles and we covered it live on the road. I think those are all some of the good ones. Now we're not going anywhere, but the weather Man challenge, I think is getting up there for this as well. 00:01:58 Speaker 2: I have been so excited about this just reading the comments on social media. Some of them have been brutal to certain meteorologists. But I can't wait to see and get everybody's predictions for today. 00:02:08 Speaker 4: Ryan. 00:02:09 Speaker 5: If you're not on social media, it'll be hard to keep up. But how much did you enjoy just since we went off the air yesterday, the last twenty four hours. 00:02:16 Speaker 6: I know there's a game tomorrow. I know we won four in a row. The only thing I want to talk about is weather Man challenge. I had three wild moments yesterday. 00:02:24 Speaker 5: Okay, well, let's go through them all right. First of all, the let me explain for people who are just tuning in Commonwealth call. This all started with I was like, I will give money to charity to whatever weather person will get the most correct answer on the snow. 00:02:40 Speaker 4: That's how this started. 00:02:42 Speaker 5: And I mentioned it offhandly on the postgame show Wednesday night, and then Commonwealth costes cause writes me and goes, we'll give five thousand dollars to the weather person that does. Now, I was gonna give one thousand, and then that guilted me a little bit, so I got it up to two thousand person, so now we were at seven. Then yesterday Serve pro calls me and goes, let's make it ten. So now we're at ten thousand dollars. 00:03:06 Speaker 6: That was my first wow moment when you posted it will be ten thousand dollars. 00:03:10 Speaker 5: A lot of money to the charity of the weather the meteorologist. I need to not say weather man because we have a woman in this as well, meteorologist who would get the most accurate forecast in Lexington and Louisville. We asked people to get in. Everyone says yes except one person. Now, now, I'm I do think it's fair. I want to spend about thirty seconds taunting this person, and then we're gonna celebrate those who said yes. Mark Weinberger of WDRB, who famously once said I'd like to have a year long challenge of accuracy amongst all the forecasters in. 00:03:51 Speaker 2: Louis boom boom receipts. 00:03:55 Speaker 5: He even gets the opportunity, and you're a Louisville person. Shannon the bad boy trash talker of Louisville declines to participate. 00:04:04 Speaker 2: He's gotten a lot of trash talking on social media. Some new names were given to him. Mark Weinerberg, I think it was one of them. So I'm just saying, you know, well, you liked we here, Okay, yeah, you're right. For some reason, people calling him weather boy makes me giggle way more than it should. But weather Boy is his new name on social media now. 00:04:27 Speaker 5: So I will say I think it's it's lame that they won't participate, that he won't participate. It is what it is, though, because you know what they say. I remember the Lord I think says this. I continue quoting the Lord. I'm not certain, but it's at least something I heard in church. One door closes, another door opens, right, So I get the know from Mark Weinberg. First of all, your friend Captain Reid Jayden, yes, who is eighty years old? You know what? 00:04:59 Speaker 6: The not confirm how old he is, and he wouldn't even tell me, and you can't find it on Google anyway. 00:05:04 Speaker 5: I will say he's the only person I've ever seen that you cannot find his age on Google. They did a profile about an issue he had had once and it said he had this issue in his fifties, but they didn't drew say what year that right, so there was no way to figure out what his age was. 00:05:20 Speaker 7: He's very mysterious. I mean, the Captain's had that adds to the lore. A lot going on with mister Yaden. 00:05:25 Speaker 5: So he also he once flew a helicopter across the country. 00:05:29 Speaker 2: Think about that, for he's a captain. 00:05:32 Speaker 5: So anyway, Captain he joins, and I'm like well, this is as good as it can get. So we got ten people and then an off handed text, I just go, hey, Jim Cantour, do you want to participate? And within five minutes his producer writes me back and says, we're in so now Jim Canty of the Weather Channel is in well so by eleven thirty this morning, they all have to have the exact to the tenth of an inch of the snow in Lexington and Louisville, and we will get to see who's good, who's not, Who can read them maps, who can I heard one weather person say last night, who's not in this that in Lexington? Specifically, this might be the hardest storm to predict because the line is right at Lexington, so it can go either way. And Ryan, we'll see who can make it happen. 00:06:21 Speaker 6: Will you hit my second wild moment when Weinberger said he couldn't gonna do it, But my third I know, I actually think we should not ever mention his name on this show ever again, declined weather Boy. I think we never name ever again on this show, weather Boy declined. But by big wild moments, when you got Jim Cantoy, I mean that is mister weather Man. He is the bomb. He is the when he shows. 00:06:44 Speaker 5: Up in your town. 00:06:45 Speaker 6: When you show he shows up in your town, get out because stuff's going down. 00:06:49 Speaker 5: But if I want you all to all think for just a second of what you think Jim Cantore looks like. If you go to his Twitter, he interviewed the Mayor of New York today, Donnie because they're getting the storm. But Sunday and I couldn't tell which one was him. Did you know he has a white beard down? 00:07:07 Speaker 2: No? 00:07:08 Speaker 5: Really for everyone, I did. 00:07:10 Speaker 4: Not know it was him. 00:07:11 Speaker 5: But nevertheless, still awesome to have huge. 00:07:14 Speaker 7: Get And honestly, credit to all the people that said yes. When you were pitching this idea, I thought they're not gonna want to do this, put in their name on this and having to go head to head something they never have to do. Everyone that's in committed on the spot, and they're like excited and eager. I thought it would take some convincing with half the field and outside of the one we've mentioned old weather Boy people jumped right in. It did not take any convincing. 00:07:37 Speaker 5: And by the way, you're right, these people are kind of putting their credibility on the line they really are. I mean, I want I'm gonna focus on our winner and not taunt who comes at the end, because. 00:07:50 Speaker 2: I'm gonna talk. I kind of hope that the social media meteorologist ends up winning the whole thing. 00:07:56 Speaker 5: Ryall right, haull, y'all, one of my favorite things that happen. And Mario makes the graphic. He puts the names and in parentheses the TV station, and for Ryan Hall, he put his TV station, y'all, which I think is absolutely hilarious. Now I will give a little piece of news. We're gonna get these forecasts. They have to be in by eleven thirty am. The first one's already in. I guess who it is. 00:08:19 Speaker 4: Ryan Hall, y'all. 00:08:20 Speaker 5: He sent it to me right for the show. I will tell you this now, maybe they'll all be like this and in a similar vein. I was shocked by his prediction. Really now. I'm not gonna say what it is because I don't want to spoil for the other things. But I was shocked, and I'll tell you why when I say it by his prediction, and I will say buckle up. Now, I think you guys down here are looking more icy. Is if I'm correct in Campbellsville, but up where we are and then north of us there it's like crazy numbers. But we'll see, we'll see what everybody comes in with you. 00:08:58 Speaker 6: I told you before the show started, I had a local weather guy said they do feel a little pressure because of what you said. We're in Lexington and if a guy Ryan Hall, y'all or something like that outside. 00:09:06 Speaker 5: Like Jim Jim k he's in New York City. 00:09:10 Speaker 6: By the way, goodpool, you in the transfer portal getting a five star guy in the lay minute, like, well, this is like coach will Stein at the last second. 00:09:16 Speaker 4: All of these people say we don't want g leaguers. 00:09:19 Speaker 6: Yeah, you pulled one in. 00:09:20 Speaker 4: I just went ahead and got Lebron to join the join the. 00:09:23 Speaker 2: Port So does that mean like Cantri has since he's national, does that mean he has an Advantage's he a better weather man than everybody else? 00:09:29 Speaker 5: Does he have access to more do that's what I wonder? 00:09:32 Speaker 2: Maybe he has all the dopplers, he has more models, yeah, or less? Maybe he's not just dialed in because he's not local. 00:09:39 Speaker 5: Do you think these weather people Drew are sitting there today like going over with a fire tooth. 00:09:46 Speaker 7: They're very nervous. I mean, like their job, they don't ever have to really put up their results or answer no. 00:09:51 Speaker 5: One's like, hey, two weeks ago you went old say I saw a map six to fourteen. That's not a prediction. Difference between six and fourteen. Six is like, well, this is a bad day. Fourteen's like I'm not going to work next week. So, I mean, that's a huge difference. 00:10:09 Speaker 7: And I'm sure they're filling this contest because something new to them. I bet their friends are lighting them up in their group chats. Yep, you know this is a big moment for them. Now they're gonna be busy all weekend, but this is living in the back of their minds. 00:10:20 Speaker 5: That there's another part of this, which is people got assigned people to get their their things from, and so we also have to make sure we get in the predictions. All right, I had four, h Ryan had four, Mario had three. I've already gotten one of mine. Ryan Hall, y'all. I also had Jim Cantri. I would say those are the two hardest to get h. Yeah, I also have the Mallory Schnell and Jim Caldwell. Your job is Chris Bailey, Bill Meck, TG Shuck and Captain Yodin Yayden. 00:10:54 Speaker 4: Yeahyden, have you gotten any of them yet? 00:10:57 Speaker 6: Not their predictions, but I've made contact with all of them, so you think you're gonna get it? 00:11:01 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:11:01 Speaker 5: If you have Logan, Cardosi and Harnet, do we have any predictions yet? 00:11:09 Speaker 4: Have you talked to him all this morning? Okay? 00:11:11 Speaker 6: I think they all wanted to see the Morning Models before they had at their final prediction. 00:11:15 Speaker 5: Bryan holl y'all put it in two and a half yearss ready to go. 00:11:18 Speaker 2: Ye, he's already. 00:11:19 Speaker 5: He's like the kid who turns his test in an hour. 00:11:21 Speaker 2: Before show off. You hate it that kid. 00:11:25 Speaker 5: I just guess he was that kid probably you bet. 00:11:27 Speaker 4: I'm just saying like, that's that's who that is. 00:11:29 Speaker 2: I was always the one of the teachers like, you know, can you gotta hurry out here, like we're nobody else is left in the class, but you that was me? 00:11:36 Speaker 4: All right? 00:11:36 Speaker 5: So that's gonna be happening today now the UK basketball game, it has gotten moved to eleven am. It will be along with the Florida game last year. Remember we played that at eleven am. The earliest game en Rup in quite some time. They moved it up really to try to get Old miss out of town after the game. 00:11:54 Speaker 4: That was the reason they did it. 00:11:55 Speaker 5: That the I think the snow is supposed to start around one, two three, but the real goal is to get Old Miss out of town, which is why they moved it up. You think it makes any difference drew to what happens tomorrow. 00:12:09 Speaker 2: Not at all. 00:12:09 Speaker 7: And I'm very excited. I even went back this morning. I wrote a blog post last year titled give us more eleven AM Games because last year that Florida game, and it played great and it's Florida. I get that was a big matchup, but that place was as good as Roperena has been even and because I was kind of having to get some memories back. When I was reading what I wrote, I was comparing it to some of the best of all time because people knew they kind of had to get up for it being earlier. 00:12:33 Speaker 4: It was. 00:12:33 Speaker 7: Florida ended up being a great game that we won. So I think, you know, Old misses at Florida, but I think there'll be an excitement for a morning. 00:12:39 Speaker 5: Do you think people will go I mean, with the snow coming after the game, Like, do you think people go. 00:12:46 Speaker 6: I don't know if it'll be packed, but they're gonna go on. There's something about that camaraderie. 00:12:49 Speaker 5: We agree with that. You know, there's something about when you're in and there's snow everywhere and you go, you almost feel a clever. I'm totally agree with that. 00:12:56 Speaker 6: So even if it's not packed, the crowd that's there I think will be crazy. Be allowed. The guys sitting here at the shoulder pads. You need to go man and support the team. 00:13:03 Speaker 4: All right, So two things. 00:13:04 Speaker 5: First of all, we're gonna open the bar at eight thirty in the morning because our pregame show starts at eight thirty now, so we're opening it early. We'll have breakfast, so come on in that. We may not start serving food till nine because our shift people are our servers. They're like, okay, you get up early, so you know, it's called a lot of college students. But we'll get the food there. But we're gonna start the pregame show at eight thirty. And then the same thing. After the game, well we will have you know, the bar will stay open until we have to close it. 00:13:36 Speaker 4: If you're not using your tickets to the game. Don't leave it empty. 00:13:40 Speaker 5: I will give it away to people in Lexington or who or who want to make the drive. Send it to Matt dot Jones at Kentucky Sports Radio. I've already had people send me about six and I'm gonna give them. 00:13:51 Speaker 4: Away over the course of the day. 00:13:53 Speaker 7: I think it's gonna be a good I mean, if you live in Paducah, maybe you don't make the trip. I think a lot of people see I'm gonna be hunkered down for Saturday night, he knows what, Let's go have fun before we get all that. 00:14:05 Speaker 5: You're gonna be some of you all, especially from I don't know Bartstown up like you ain't going anywhere. And then I you know, folks around here. The ice that's that's obviously that might even be worse in some ways than the snow. So it's uh could be a long weekend around the state. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we are here in Campbellsville, Taylor County. 00:14:25 Speaker 4: Will take a break and right back. 00:14:27 Speaker 5: This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live and Don Franklin from Tough trucks to sleek SUVs, your perfect fits, waiting shopping at all at Don Franklin dot com. Schedule a chest drive than picking up at your local store. You know how I know that we're in uh in Kentucky. They just came out with a twelve pack of mountain dew, and half the crowd got up and ran to the Uh. 00:14:55 Speaker 2: Everybody knows you're gonna have mountain dew with your glazed don'tut it. 00:14:59 Speaker 5: That is a yeah, that is that's the Campbellsville power lunch. You got the mountain dew and the glades donut. I can say that because I spent a lot of time here as a as a kid. My grandmother lived here, my great aunt still lives here. 00:15:14 Speaker 4: And have uh, I spent a lot of time. 00:15:16 Speaker 5: We've done I would say Campbellsville's in the top eight or ten of places we've done shows. 00:15:21 Speaker 6: We did win every summer at the Daddies Pizzeria up here right up the road every year for like five or six years in a row. 00:15:27 Speaker 5: I drove by it. I'll know, if you guys could be a little louder, that would be good for the show. All right, just a little. 00:15:33 Speaker 7: Bit I'll jacked up on that duo over there already. 00:15:36 Speaker 5: Eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. So let's talk a little bit just about the game itself. Are you worried? Drew it all about Old Miss coming in probably maybe the worst team along with LSU in the conference, but when we still got. 00:15:52 Speaker 7: To beat I'm worried about every game on the schedule. I mean, I don't think we'll lose, but we're at a point where if like a guy has a bad game, that could just derail the whole game because there's not enough depth to fix that. It's pretty much been relying on Old Way, Chandler and Aberdeen here lately, which has been great. I don't know how long that'll last. But you know, Old Miss might be the easiest or one of the easiest games left. I think you got to finish the job. You got to keep stacking these wins and get momentum going. They've already built a lot of confidence and you can't slip up here against this team on paper. 00:16:21 Speaker 5: If you were just looking at paper, this easiest game in the season, and of course that means it won't be. We'll be down fourteen in the first half. But this is, on paper, Ryan, the easiest team you play, and you play them at home, so like this should be the easiest game of the season. You've won four straight. You just don't want to lose this one. 00:16:42 Speaker 6: Yeah, because next week you may easily lose two games next week at Vandy at Arkansas. 00:16:46 Speaker 5: No, you probably almost certainly will, I mean probably will. 00:16:49 Speaker 6: Makes it more important. You got to get this one at home. I think we're gonna have the old wounded dog effect. You keep losing guys and injuries coming like a wounded dog, fighting and clawing, and maybe play. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: Really really well. Tom the usually went to Dog's coming off a loss. Though we got a four game win streak here, I don't wounded dog. 00:17:03 Speaker 5: We've won more games in a row than we have since cow Was. 00:17:06 Speaker 6: Because every time we blink, another guy's sitting over there in true street clothes cannot playing. So we are very wounded. 00:17:12 Speaker 5: Travis Perry, Yeah, what's that gonna be? 00:17:15 Speaker 2: Like, he's gonna light us up? You know he is, I mean he's not. 00:17:19 Speaker 5: He's not had a great year. 00:17:20 Speaker 2: We had fifteen. 00:17:21 Speaker 5: Last game that was his last game, was his best game, he said. 00:17:25 Speaker 7: Four threes and five threes in the last week and a half, so he's, of all times for him to get hot, it's leading up to his trip to Lexington. 00:17:30 Speaker 2: He's just now warming up. So yeah, I could see that begin a scenario where he comes in and you know, he's played games more so than a lot of our current guys that played a ruppery enough, so I could see him having a big games. 00:17:40 Speaker 5: What do you think? Give me over under eleven points for Travis Parry. 00:17:46 Speaker 6: I'm gonna say over. I mean, I think I just think he's gonna probably get hot and bomb a couple and we're all gonna be bitching about it on the Postmom Show. 00:17:57 Speaker 5: Okay, all right, can I talk to you about that real quick? 00:18:00 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:18:00 Speaker 5: First of all, you're gonna you're gonna get trapped in your house, yes, starting Saturday. Yes, assuming the weather works, you're gonna start eating a load on the day. Oh did you forget that? 00:18:11 Speaker 6: I thought we'd canceled that with the snow. 00:18:13 Speaker 4: Only if you can't get out of your house, I. 00:18:15 Speaker 6: Can't get out. 00:18:17 Speaker 5: You need to come down a notch. The combination of you just randomly cursing and that picture you posted last night on Twitter. 00:18:25 Speaker 2: What were you doing what was? 00:18:27 Speaker 5: What was time? I mean, why don't even I don't even know you're gonna describe it, because I know your description is gonna be even worse than the picture was. Someone said to me that we work with look at what Ryan Lemon just posted. And I looked at it, and I was like, who's wrong with you? 00:18:45 Speaker 2: Just a weather map? 00:18:45 Speaker 8: I but that's not you know why you posted that? That's why I posted it because can you just are you gonna be able to handle these next seventy two hours? 00:18:58 Speaker 6: I seriously may go crazy. I'm gonna be at my house by myself because the UGA girl's gonna stay in Georgetown. 00:19:03 Speaker 4: But you understand, I've like, I've done that. 00:19:06 Speaker 6: For I'm not an experienced loner. 00:19:09 Speaker 5: When's the last time you spent seventy two hours by yourself? Never? 00:19:13 Speaker 6: Absolutely never? 00:19:14 Speaker 5: Are you serious? Ever? Never? 00:19:16 Speaker 2: Ever ever? 00:19:16 Speaker 5: See this is your first weekend alone ever ever. 00:19:22 Speaker 6: I've always had a kid there, so my whole life now it says, I'm probably end up going crazy. I'm going to get my bread and milk after on the way home today, get some frozen pizza, maybe some beer. 00:19:31 Speaker 2: So what are you gonna do? Watch sports? 00:19:34 Speaker 5: I mean, you're not even kidding. You've never had a weekend alone ever. No, I've had a kid. For Gavin's twenty eight years old. I mean the kid didn't go somewhere. 00:19:43 Speaker 6: Well, then there was another kid. I had three kids. There was always a kid there. 00:19:46 Speaker 2: We all need to duck in on Ryan. 00:19:48 Speaker 6: I think this weekend so like, I've never been alone probably forty eight hours, twenty four hours. I've always it's just not me. 00:19:56 Speaker 5: Do you need supervisions? Yes? 00:19:58 Speaker 2: We should already put off the jax. 00:20:00 Speaker 6: I'll be the guy looking out my front window like please. 00:20:03 Speaker 5: Why is uh why is your woman not spending the weekend with Well, her son and daughter in law is gonna be with her and Georgetown. 00:20:10 Speaker 6: You're gonna try to get over there, I mean definitely gonna try. 00:20:13 Speaker 5: And walking down New Circle right if you just if you look and there's a random man walking down Georgetown Road, that is that is Ryan pick me up trying to get to Georgetown. All right, back to the game. 00:20:24 Speaker 4: What do we need to watch out for Drew? 00:20:25 Speaker 5: For this Old Miss team. 00:20:28 Speaker 7: Uh, they've kind of turned the corner. They just lost their last game to Auburn. But Travis Perry is hitting threes. Aj Store, a guy mentioned a few weeks ago who is trying to play for every college in the country. He had twenty six and then twenty seven. They have two big wins. They won at Georgia last week when Georgia Georgia yes, and then won a rivalry game against Missippi State. Both those came down in the final seconds. So yeah, they're three and three and their resume doesn't really pop. But just like Kentucky got hot in the last week or two, all miss is doing the same thing they. 00:20:56 Speaker 5: Are and and they've been like Drew said, now on paper they were the worst team in the SEC, they've played a little better. We just have to win because I can sit here and read you the next ten games, like there's no obvious victory. I mean at Fandy at Arkansas, then you go uh Oklahoma home, at uh sorry, at Tennessee there, Tennessee home, then at Florida Georgia, I mean at Auburn, Like it just keeps coming you. This is one you gotta. 00:21:31 Speaker 6: Get, gotta take care of business, just you know, build on what you did last week against Texas, played a forty minutes of basketball. First time we've seen that in a long time, play forty minutes, go out and do the job. 00:21:41 Speaker 5: Chris Beard is. 00:21:41 Speaker 6: One of the best coaches in the league too. I think he's you know, he's not gonna be scared that we can come in there and try to do this. 00:21:46 Speaker 4: They will. 00:21:47 Speaker 7: Yeah, they're gonna play good defense. That's one thing. It over very much, right. 00:21:50 Speaker 5: Who's that first? 00:21:51 Speaker 4: Rick? 00:21:52 Speaker 5: God? Jason? 00:21:53 Speaker 4: Up first, Jason? I got a minute, go ahead. 00:21:57 Speaker 9: Hey sid Jay here in Colorado. Wanted to give you quick preview of the snow that's coming away. I just got no one walking the dogs. It is cold, and the witches behind. And I tell you what I'm not. I'm more disappointed than probably the fact that my wife doesn't even know who Jim Cantore is. Uh than probably Tom whin Cow couldn't even coach a game and Wisconsin couldn't throw down a cat that just killed me. But anyways, I love your show. Thank you so much. Enjoy the snow. It's gonna be snowma getting there in Kentucky. We love it out here, so I hope you guys get more. You say I. 00:22:29 Speaker 5: Appreciate I appreciate it, and uh, you know, we don't handle it quite the same as everybody else. We don't have quite the same equipment or readiness, but uh, I enjoy it. I hope everybody stay safe. I mean that's one thing I'm concerned about, you know, falling trees and all that stuff, especially in the parks with the ice. But I also personally enjoy snow. And I'm gonna be following along with these people to see. 00:22:52 Speaker 6: Yeah, keep it on your neighbors, got elderly neighbors. 00:22:54 Speaker 5: Keep it out lying taken breaking be right back Radio much Quarterback Tucky Sports Radio. 00:23:01 Speaker 4: I FUT nine two twenty two eighty seven. 00:23:04 Speaker 5: Here in Campbellsville at Don Franklin, Kentucky's biggest playbook. Six thousand new and certified pre owned vehicles here at Don Franklin. I'm reminded by the folks. I don't know how I forgot this. I'm in Campbellsville. This is ski country. This is not Mountain. I was gonna say that, but I was like, yeah, you got you can't let me do that, Okay there. Ski country is not a large segment, but it is a loyal segment. 00:23:26 Speaker 4: Do you like ski? 00:23:27 Speaker 2: Eh? It's okay. I remember when I went to Lindsay Wilson. Everybody drinks ski and I've never even heard of it before, but they love it here. 00:23:34 Speaker 5: I like it. Okay, where's it made Green County? It was in Green Canty. 00:23:39 Speaker 4: Now it's not. Oh it's shut down. So do they still so it doesn't exist? What? 00:23:45 Speaker 5: Okay? Well, I love Did you sell it? Okay? Got it? 00:23:49 Speaker 4: Did they still do it in other places? 00:23:53 Speaker 5: Okay? Well, I I've always liked it, and I've had it for a while. I c like those citrusy drinks. 00:23:59 Speaker 6: Well, of our listeners brought us some Druthers biscuits. The only Druthers in America's right down the road to here. 00:24:04 Speaker 5: In Campbell's you said you couldn't get even get you could. 00:24:06 Speaker 2: Not get everybody that is, anybody other than you, because you're all somebody. But I mean, like, if you want to know what's going on in Campbell's Bill, you go to that Druthers because you walk in, you can't get in the door. We found the very last parking spot. We had to fight somebody for the last parking spot to get into Druthers this morning. 00:24:21 Speaker 5: We had Druthers when I was growing up. I did, how did they get if they're the only one. How did they get to stay. 00:24:26 Speaker 2: Open because of the businesses booment down there. You should go down there and see. I'd like to see their numbers at the end of the day. How much money they're mad? They have chocolate gravy on Friday. That's right, Yeah, I was there to get the chocolate gravy. They have chocolate gravy, and they say, and they serve breakfast all day long, apparently. 00:24:41 Speaker 5: So they put chocolate gravy just on biscuits. 00:24:44 Speaker 2: Whatever you wanted on. Wow, what do you want it on? Dump some on your head. 00:24:49 Speaker 7: Just drink the gravy. 00:24:50 Speaker 5: I can't really think of what I would want it off eggs, but it's an interesting idea. One person writes, Matt tell Ryan if his power goes out, it'll be more fun being by himself. 00:25:04 Speaker 6: That's when I'm going down the street and knock on somebody's door. Let me in, please, neighbor. You don't know who I am, the crazy man with the dog at the end of the road. Let me in. 00:25:12 Speaker 2: It's gonna be like the shining. 00:25:15 Speaker 5: Ryan question. 00:25:18 Speaker 6: If the electricity goes out, your gas fireplace still work? 00:25:21 Speaker 2: Correct? 00:25:22 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:25:22 Speaker 6: I can stay warm. 00:25:23 Speaker 5: But I mean I think They're saying you're not gonna have anything to do that that's what's gonna drive you to be alone with your thoughts. Like you're not gonna You're not gonna be able. You're just gonna have to sort of confront the realities of spending time by yourself. 00:25:35 Speaker 6: By yourself, I go crazy. I will be out walking the streets. I can't. I can't do it. 00:25:39 Speaker 2: A wellness check. We should all just check it on. 00:25:42 Speaker 5: One person writes Matt, how much preparation have you done for the trip or for the snow zero? I have no food, I have no anything, So I mean this won't go well for me. 00:25:55 Speaker 2: So you're gonna be going for a walk. 00:25:56 Speaker 5: So I'm trying to figure out. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out do I want to do it in Lexington? Are a little what's the more What's the better chance that I can get. 00:26:03 Speaker 2: Through it Louisville? 00:26:04 Speaker 5: Probably Louisville because I have walkable, more restaurants, But like some friends can like help me, and I have more friends in Lexington. 00:26:12 Speaker 2: So somebody's helping you. You're on your own. 00:26:13 Speaker 5: I mean the only people in Louisville are you in parents. 00:26:15 Speaker 2: I'm not coming to help you. So you're gonna be walking. Do me one favor though. Whatever you do when you go for a walk, do not fall, because I do not need another Bruce picture, Bruce Butt picture on my phone like I have already. 00:26:25 Speaker 4: That was a that was a wonderful picture. 00:26:28 Speaker 5: Are you? Are you one hundred percent? John Rostein yesterday said he is not like seventy percent Kentucky makes the tournament. What is your percent Kentucky makes the tournament. 00:26:38 Speaker 6: I'm pretty high, maybe ninety five percent. 00:26:41 Speaker 2: I mean, oh wow. 00:26:42 Speaker 6: Yeah. I feel they've kind of found themselves a little bit, found their answers a little bit, and they now they kind of know what they got to deal with. Loe is not coming back, Quainton's more than likely not gonna play much of any at all. So you got who you got to go out and play ball. Just go out there and do it. 00:26:55 Speaker 5: And I don't think Cam's playing that's true. 00:26:57 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:26:58 Speaker 7: I was a coin flip on the tournament before Knoxville, but that's a that's a big win to get that one for the resume. I feel like they've turned a corner a little bit. I'll say eighty percent. But I wasn't feeling great, just a week ago. 00:27:10 Speaker 2: I'll go seventy five. I keep hearing it. I don't even know if this is true that Kentucky has the hardest schedule in the country going for. 00:27:17 Speaker 4: By far, and wait till after the game tomorrow. Then we're gonna have. 00:27:21 Speaker 5: Like we we have, what is it, twelve games left, ten of the twelve for Quad one. One of the two non Quad one ones is tomorrow, so like we'll have we will have ten of our final eleven games Shannon be in Quad one. 00:27:36 Speaker 2: Well, that's yeah, that's a murderer's row. So maybe I adjusted a little bit, maybe sixty percent chance that I could turn out, so. 00:27:44 Speaker 5: Only sixty Yeah, so I'm at I'm about seventy five when tomorrow I'll get to like eighty two to eighty five. But the problem is after tomorrow we play Oklahoma at home. Besides that, there's I mean, we might be an underdog, folks, in like most of our games going forward, we might be an underdog. I mean we'll be We'll be an underdog against Vandy both games, probably, probably will be an underdog against Florida both games. Probably will be an underdog at Arkansas. 00:28:23 Speaker 6: Oh yeah, definitely will. 00:28:25 Speaker 5: Be an underdog at Auburn. We Tennessee will be an underdog at Texas. 00:28:32 Speaker 4: A and M. 00:28:33 Speaker 7: Yeah, they're good. People don't talk about them enough. 00:28:35 Speaker 5: Right now, we play Tennessee at home, pick them. Maybe we're a slight favorite. Yeah, we'll be a home. We'll be a favorite against Oklahoma. Are we a favorite at home against Georgia? Georgia? 00:28:50 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we. 00:28:51 Speaker 5: Probably will just because people will otherwise they're worried everybody will bet Kentucky. But I'm just saying like we're gonna be an underdog ride in most games. 00:28:59 Speaker 6: I kind of like our team's attitude and they come and be everybody disrespect a little bit. I think like Oway and abready kind of found a way to play together, and they kind of got that dog in, you know, the wounded dog dog coming out in them. 00:29:11 Speaker 5: I think I can see who the wounded dog here is thinking about having to spend his weekend by himself. Who's up next? Austin is up next, Austin? Go ahead, Austin. 00:29:22 Speaker 9: What's up? 00:29:22 Speaker 10: Fellas quick? Shout out to Dakota and Michael on the second road to your slay. 00:29:25 Speaker 9: Right. 00:29:26 Speaker 10: Two questions, does revenue share distribution make top donors focus more on basketball and does that affect football in a negative way? And representing representing for Campbellsville. I have to ask why my man Corey Lynn Helck was not reached out to for the weather Man Royal Rumble of twenty six. 00:29:41 Speaker 5: Well, we had a very I don't know who Corey Lynn how kids, but I'm sure he'd been great. Uh. We had a very strict criteria because we had a lot of people that wanted to be in it. But I was trying to figure out, like what would be the most group, the group of people that most people would know. 00:29:56 Speaker 4: Great. 00:29:56 Speaker 5: Question about the donor situation, what I would say, Ryan, is I have no idea how donors are going to be funding things in the future. Just just to give you, I'll try to make a ten minute conversation of a minute and a half for a long time. If you wanted to donate to UK Sports, what did you do? You just wrote a check to UK Sports. Yeah, right, and it went into the Athletic department and they could do with it what they want. Sometimes you might say I'll give you two million dollars if you do this specific thing, but generally people just gave to UK Athletics and then UK Athletics decides what it did did it ain't like that anymore, all right? So think about the different ways you can give money. One, you can give to UK Athletics, okay, just the UH and to like build facilities or you know, put. 00:30:48 Speaker 4: Whatever they want to do. 00:30:49 Speaker 5: Second, there are specific projects they raise money for, like the football renovation right right, So they will ask donors not only donate to UK Athletics, donate for this specific thing. Then they sometimes say we have to raise money for our for our rev Share fund of nineteen twenty one million dollars. There are donors who give to that. And then there are donors back in the old system that Mark Stoops was friends with and said I need to go get a running back, will you help me? They do that. Or Mark Pope says price has gone up for so and so will you help me? 00:31:30 Speaker 4: And they do that. 00:31:32 Speaker 5: Ryan, Now that technically that's illegal, although I think people will still do it. There's Revshare. I don't know how donors figure out who to give money to. 00:31:43 Speaker 6: Now I don't either. You just said it right there to kind of confuse me for sure. So the guys that donate like into the Basketball and al fund. What if they want to do the football NL Fund, how do they do that? 00:31:53 Speaker 5: I think I think what UK encourages them to do is give us money and let us control it. But as what a lot of donors want to do is I ain't given this for track. Yeah I'm giving this for basketball and oh, by the way, I want seats on the fourth row. I mean that, Drew is probably the practicality of how this works. 00:32:15 Speaker 7: And in the world we live in now, most people with their dollars are gonna want to go get a good player because that's what they're gonna be want. I mean, buildings are nice unless you're getting your name on the whole building. It's gonna be like, I just want to give you money to give us the best team possible. Good luck with your locker room renovation. 00:32:30 Speaker 5: And there was now I think this is changing too, but there was a time, especially in football, where people wanted to donate to get a specific player, and Shannon then kind of have a relationship with that player like that is our player. 00:32:45 Speaker 2: You feel like they work for you because you paid them. 00:32:48 Speaker 5: Right now, let me also say where that raises a little difficulty. Let's say sir, you paid one hundred and fifty thousand dollars so we could go get a linebacker, and you were asked specifically, I need this line packer one hundred and fifty thousand, and you gave it. 00:33:03 Speaker 4: And then what if he doesn't play? 00:33:05 Speaker 5: How do you feel? Are you giving it next year? No? No, I want my money. And so I do think that's another thing that makes it harder for these schools is that they ask people sometimes to give money for specific things, and then if that guy, like imagine you're the guy who paid for Zach Calzada and then that video comes. 00:33:25 Speaker 2: Out and that's my money he's playing, Well, that's give me back my money you buy. 00:33:29 Speaker 5: Just think there's so many different things in play now, drewth that I actually do think it makes really hard in the money situation. 00:33:35 Speaker 7: Now there's guys already dealing with this, Like imagine selling your family business, throw a little bit in IL, and you're just watching a guy throw it at some guy named Garrett on snap play Like I worked forty years for that money right there. If he's just being thrown at someone I don't even know, telling. 00:33:48 Speaker 2: Him to get his money up, it's a really good if you're that dumb, that's on you, though, if you sell your business to give him a kid. 00:33:54 Speaker 5: I mean in general, well no, I mean you didn't spend it, you know what I'm saying, Like, I worked hard to do this. 00:34:00 Speaker 6: It a someone a kid, give it to them. 00:34:03 Speaker 5: Yeah, No, it's it's it's a really, it's it's a different dynamic. Now if you're paying it, paying a premium for roadside assistance, or you're getting gouged for phone insurance, are your doctor visits Copey's feeling more expensive. 00:34:14 Speaker 4: We'll use Blue Vantage. 00:34:16 Speaker 5: Checking from UK credit Union pack with benefits that go beyond the basics. You can get ahead and stay ahead and get loan discounts and more. It's UK credit Union stopped by Blue Vantage Checking from the official Credit Union of the University of Kentucky. Additional flea Apply Membership el Elgibily Required insured by n c U, a UK credit union. We'll take a break and be right back here at Don Franklin and Campbellsville's ks are. 00:34:40 Speaker 4: I can still get there from here. 00:34:43 Speaker 5: Where I'm back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. We are here at Don Franklin, So listen to this. Uh, I just got Ryan Hall y'all asked to update his prediction to raise a total so the snow maps are getting more snowy, and he had to eleven thirty yea, So I felt like, if you if you get to do it, there's nothing that says I'm fine with that. You know, he's locked in too. 00:35:16 Speaker 7: I saw yesterday probably went in reference to this, but he posted on Facebook this is like the moment meteorologists are trained. 00:35:22 Speaker 2: For, or something like that. 00:35:23 Speaker 7: I think he just meant the overall storm, but I took it as he meant the challenge. 00:35:26 Speaker 4: I think it is the challenge. 00:35:28 Speaker 5: We will find out, we will start getting I think predictions in in the next thirty minutes. I wanted to ask you what you thought about the Florida Bama coach trash talk. So Alabama, you've probably seen a judge who was an Alabama donor issued a temporary injunction allowing the kid, a kid from the G League, to play for Alabama. I didn't know when I saw the story at first that the dude who had issued it was an Alabama donor, big donor, a big donor. So that's maybe a little forum shopping there from the university of Alabama. But so he's eligible. Now he will play this weekend. Now next I think they played Tennessee, Is that right? I think they play Tennessee again. Next weekend they play Florida. Florida's coach Todd Golden was asked about it and he goes, well, I guess that's what happens when you get to pick the judge. But then he said, Ryan, I don't care, let him play, will. 00:36:24 Speaker 4: Beat him anyway. What do you think about that. 00:36:28 Speaker 6: I've never liked Todd Golden. It a little smarmy, but I like that comment. 00:36:32 Speaker 5: I want that. 00:36:33 Speaker 6: I want my coach to be like that guy. 00:36:35 Speaker 5: I let him play, I'll beat him anyway. 00:36:37 Speaker 7: I love it. You don't normally hear any kind of trash talk whatsoever. They are all so lame in media trained. That's from the guy at the end of the bench to the head coach. You just don't get juicy answers like that. So for him to say we're gonna beat him, play him if he wants to, I'm coming for you. I absolutely love it. 00:36:52 Speaker 6: Absolutely. 00:36:53 Speaker 5: You never hear coaches say we're gonna beat him about another team like ever. They never say that, So I kind of like me. 00:37:00 Speaker 2: I love it too. I mean he's just saying what we're all thinking, but no other coach will say so uh, which. 00:37:05 Speaker 5: Is usually like a team will come in four and fifteen and they'll go, it's a great team. 00:37:09 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a great There'll be a tough challenge, tough challenge. 00:37:11 Speaker 4: They're gonna really bring it. 00:37:13 Speaker 5: I mean, Mark Pope says every team in the SEC is a great team, so single special team that So I like coming. I like going saying this now. I also believe what I said about the Baylor kid. He's not any good. Everybody freaks out about these guys and they're not good. If they were good, they'd play. There are three. I don't think people realize there are three guys that came from the G League playing in college basketball right now. You know the you know, the one that's averaging the most points, how many is averaging four point two. Where all these people are freaking out about guys Ryan that aren't any good. 00:37:48 Speaker 6: He said they were good, they'd be on an NBA roster, they'd be playing in the league right now, not bouncing around traveling around the G League. And we're trying to get a couple of minutes. 00:37:55 Speaker 2: So do we now get denk. 00:37:56 Speaker 5: Paid Well, it was I was gonna say there might be one exception. 00:37:59 Speaker 2: They'll say, what about it. 00:38:00 Speaker 6: What's the update on him? 00:38:01 Speaker 5: Well? Well, first of all, these guys that have come from the G League, if you go look at their G League stats, they weren't scoring a lot in. 00:38:08 Speaker 4: The G League. 00:38:09 Speaker 5: But deep Painte is Deep Payt scoring seventeen a game. He had thirty two the other night. Okay, Deep paint was once the seventeenth ranked high school recruit in America, so he can play. He did an interview with our Jacob Polocheck yesterday Drew that said, if Kentucky wants me, I'm there now. It sounds like they want him for next year. That there won't be an addition to this team. It would have to happen today this year. But it would have to happen today, and since we haven't heard anything, I'm gonna lean towards it's not gonna happen. 00:38:39 Speaker 4: Would you want him for next year? 00:38:40 Speaker 7: Oh definitely, you know right now, let me look at what we have for next year. Uh yeah, there's no one there, So I would love him next year. Uh, that would be great. He seemed to be a big fan of Dank in his comments. Maybe that's just his attitude. 00:38:53 Speaker 5: He's definitely if you go on uh the streaming service. Somebody sent me a clip for this if you're bored. This weekend, Shaquille and Allen Iverson did a documentary for Reebok and it's on Amazon. Their whole point was to try to go find good high school players, and Dink is a big part of the d of the documentary. Now, I all say about Dink, I found him likable, but Shandon Dink likes him from deck and I think that will definitely be that comes through in the documentary. 00:39:21 Speaker 2: That on yourself, right, if you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will. So it sounds like he's got plenty of confidence. 00:39:27 Speaker 5: Well, I'm with Drew. We don't have any players Ryan, So if he wants to be part of the team next year, right now, I'm kind of for it. He's got a ton of talent, clearly. 00:39:34 Speaker 6: Yeah, get you a little headstart on next year to Kruen class, getting this guy signed up. You bring him in right now. 00:39:38 Speaker 5: It's not a head start. We're behind. 00:39:40 Speaker 2: We have nobody. 00:39:41 Speaker 5: We have nobody. 00:39:42 Speaker 6: I tell you this whole part about today being the last day for drop AD and we had it shade and sharp and middle semester. We had a big z in the middle semester. I mean that stuff just kind of magically seems to work itself out. 00:39:52 Speaker 5: So you think we can add him in mid February? Probably, all right, good deal. 00:39:55 Speaker 4: Who's up next? Bobby is up next, Bobby, Go ahead, Bobby. 00:40:01 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:40:02 Speaker 9: I was just kind of curious watching these games and their defense has really been in proven, but I'm wondering when we're ever going. 00:40:07 Speaker 5: To take a charge. 00:40:10 Speaker 9: Seems too many ball go up the middle of the lane and nobody helping out, and he just kind of frustrated. 00:40:16 Speaker 5: Well, we all take a lot of charges. That's a good point. I appreciate the call. I do think one of the things we do, I think we play really good defense. I do agree with the caller. Drew that are rotating under the basket is pretty poor. We give up a lot of dunks, like a lot of dunks, and it feels like a lot of times it's because the offside guys just making a business decision and saying, you know, you go ahead. 00:40:40 Speaker 7: Another dimensions that I really can't remember a charge. 00:40:43 Speaker 2: We really haven't. 00:40:44 Speaker 7: Maybe it's probably because the training room is full of injured people and they will lay their body on the line with this team. 00:40:48 Speaker 2: But it worked. 00:40:49 Speaker 7: But I remember at Tennessee and LSU when they're trying to call back, they'd get hot, but then they would give up a lot of those easy baskets. Now they buckled down to the end and got it. But that defense still has some big flows call as many charge. 00:41:00 Speaker 5: It doesn't feel like remember there was appear in college basketball where it felt like people were jumping in front for charges all the time. I feel like you don't see him as much just in general. 00:41:07 Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't, And I think sometimes, like you guys said, giving up two points is better than a season ending injury, so you just kind of give it to him. 00:41:14 Speaker 1: All. 00:41:14 Speaker 7: We had to cut out that sliding under them. 00:41:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, out of hand. 00:41:17 Speaker 5: We have our second prediction in and it comes from your guy Jim Caldwell. Very different than Ryan Hall, y'all. So see, I wondered, is everybody going to end up in the same place completely different in this one? Wow? 00:41:34 Speaker 2: Is it because he's old school maybe and he's using different Like. 00:41:37 Speaker 5: Do you think he's out there. He doesn't have the sticking his finger up. Yes he doesn't. 00:41:43 Speaker 2: He's using the Farmer's Almanac. That's what he's using. He doesn't. 00:41:47 Speaker 5: We'll see which one will be right. Very different. See, I wonder will they all group together? Turns out no tour in. We'll get nine more. We'll be right back to see it is. Kentucky Sports Radio
