Episode 26 - Types of worlds in the Imperium Of Man

The 40k Lorecast

On this episode we cover where citizens of the Imperium can live. yeah most of them are not great. Unless you are in the nobility class, in which case most are awesome. Do you want to live on a planet of munitions? Planet of food growth? How about a Forge World or a Knight World. Personally we would pass on sentinel or Fortress Words, but you do you. * Also sorry for the lozenges, but it was that or blow everyone's ears out with violent coughing*

[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast.
[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Forty K. Lorcaz, me John Barzati and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_01]: As you can tell today's episode is brought to you by Brad having an upper lung infection and me having knee surgery two days ago.
[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, times he's in a crutch and this is the first day that I've left my house.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but Brad has air going in and out of his body and it's only the out is only maybe seventy percent's flam.
[SPEAKER_01]: It feels good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just great.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[SPEAKER_01]: So today's episode, we're going to be diving into kind of the types and of places a human could be living in a for you first moment.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, surprise spoiler alert.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're all pretty bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some are real bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's funny is we were talking about things that you never should talk about in public.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: the one percent became the point oh one percent in the world of forty k and they went from there's a disparity to a you should live underground yeah I should live up I'm gonna live up in the sky you're gonna live in the ground and don't actually make eye contact with me
[SPEAKER_01]: Before we begin though, let's do some quick plugs.
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we have the website, FortyKLorecast.com.
[SPEAKER_01]: We have the Patreon.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really emphasize all you need to go to our Discord though, that our Discord page has become, it's actually a lot of interaction.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so fun right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a lot of people actually, there's actually a community community community.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've also got to spot people are putting up models that work non feel free everyone's, everybody's, it's a couple of asses now.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've sent it into the Discord.
[SPEAKER_02]: We really haven't asked.
[SPEAKER_02]: spoiler way to be honest with you.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to have talks about it, this is a whole thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about the stories.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to put a spoiler tag on it, put a spoiler tag on it, but, you know, enjoy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Literally talk about anything you want to talk about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's a discord and honestly, we're covering Laura that's already written.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like, yeah, that's like a spoiler read the book.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, read the book.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, Brad, we're going to be in April.
[SPEAKER_02]: April, I'm going to be in two different places.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to the jam hammer team tournament down in Dayton.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be really fun.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a great event.
[SPEAKER_02]: I went to the singles event there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, then I'm going to Anna's out of Montague, Michigan, holding the first GT in the new expanded tournament store store.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, expanded store.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we're also going to be a top-down at the end of the month.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, that's in April because right now, like, when this, when this episode drops, you all be listening to this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, I'm trying to be listening this on Monday.
[SPEAKER_01]: I Brad and I will, will be there on Thursday.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's very, we're, we're going to have to gather.
[SPEAKER_02]: So two story.
[SPEAKER_01]: But all right, well, let's dive into the meet of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is some, a topic Brad and I have been discussing covering for a while because we actually,
[SPEAKER_01]: We're both role-play people.
[SPEAKER_01]: We really enjoy a good RPG and a good setting.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what the whole trick to a good RPG is having a good setting.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a setting.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the Bordecai universe is a setting.
[SPEAKER_02]: But we want to talk about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is the reason we wanted to do the inquisition first and some of the order, you know, all that and give you a little bit of scent because it makes more sense now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about well, what are the people doing?
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a gigazillion.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: Make up a weird number.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know the numbers that are big enough for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Humans in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go up the number of people there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just, and there is over a million worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: A world's not people in the, in the, in the imperium.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, and it's crazy.
[SPEAKER_02]: What's happening in the imperium?
[SPEAKER_02]: The imperium kind of sucks for the regular person's life is well, and people are going to mention the paradise world you don't live on the paradise world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we were going to cover them briefly, but let's, yeah, so let's just set to the stage people are saying the vastness what we're talking about.
[SPEAKER_01]: Forty K is played in the Milky Way.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, the Imperium at the time of, we'll call it Forty K, but right, in thatish zone, they span about two thirds of that galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's after the Eldar fell, remember, the Eldar fell and then the Greek recede happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: So there was almost nothing stopping humanity's expansion.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they had some horse herises, wars of the beast, wars of Armageddon, things have come up.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that we're, you say two thirds, and it's really, we're really in half, but we're in two thirds.
[SPEAKER_01]: We touched two thirds, but even with that two thirds, there's actually took a lot more research I thought it would be, but they candid.
[SPEAKER_01]: In those two thirds, there is that the math I, I'm not a fine, is that there's one billion stars in the Milky Way, okay?
[SPEAKER_01]: So, it's six hundred million stars.
[SPEAKER_01]: You may need somewhere in that realm of
[SPEAKER_01]: Humanity only occupies about one million worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we just in the own space, those of you who like math, just in the space that humanity is sitting in, they're only happening less than point one percent of the planets that they're actually around.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we say, and this is an important thing when we talk about the Imperium, it's not like the Roman Empire.
[SPEAKER_01]: where, you know, whatever edge of the empire that exists, everything from that edge in is completely and wholly controlled by the Romans.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, humanity just is overall of this space.
[SPEAKER_01]: And some of it, they have control over, some of it they have less control over, but so it's an important distinction we talk about then having two thirds of the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's sort of.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we are populist.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but there's there's a lot of reasons here.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like your work travel is not like that of Star Wars or Star Trek because who?
[SPEAKER_02]: After paths.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's got to be no life insurance on you.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is the big one is moving travel in the forty first millennia.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can just go faster than light and you'll get there eventually.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is that, yeah, you'll eventually go places or you can make that job and you can hope for the best.
[SPEAKER_02]: And one of the reasons that we
[SPEAKER_02]: We still have explorers, we still have rogue traders, is because the astronauts tend to stay on, hey, if you go from here to here, you probably won't have some guy put fish hooks in your eyeballs.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, yeah, I'm probably just gonna go this way.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, what over here could be shorter, you're like, fish hooks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is, it's very funny in that when you read the GW lore,
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got, it reminds me a lot of, when you, if you ever read about, you know, the exploring the globe, like, you know, with like Magellan and all those people, where there were entire sections, like, like, this is where you're tangent, you're going to go into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you go south of India into the Indian Ocean, in between that, Australia is some of the roughest ocean in the world.
[SPEAKER_01]: to the point where people just didn't go through there for hundreds of years because just wasn't worth it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the warped storm.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the warped is like.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's sex of the warped, where it's like, hey, I could get there's a straight line from this spot to this spot.
[SPEAKER_01]: We could be there in this day.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or I'll just throw the other way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I'm going to take the three-month journey around it because if we go that way to Brad's point, I slenest just appears.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, you really just don't go, hey, man, you know, it sucks as playing event horizon as my data work.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: The other problem is the galaxy's also kind of full of enemies.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, as mankind, this is why mankind has expanded, but hasn't necessarily conquered everything is that some sections in imperial space are also like, no, yeah, just...
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the upper was super excited about trying to make his own web way.
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't really, no one knows where the web way goes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And well, you know, who does to car?
[SPEAKER_02]: To car.
[SPEAKER_02]: You go, this is a fancy planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's super far away from everybody else.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder why no one else has been here.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then you're like, oh, because I basically put a sign up that said free slaves.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because of this stuff, mankind settles sections of their galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They'll have three or four systems that might be near each other, and those will be heavily occupied in force.
[SPEAKER_01]: But then there might be thirty systems between them and the next chunk like that, because
[SPEAKER_01]: I just can't reinforce it, and the jukari show up, the orkshup, whoever it is, or demons show up, and it's just, nah, it's just not worth my time.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you have to make it valuable because again, the imperial, the imperial man is the bureaucracy of man.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you have to make logistic and financial sense to the imperial to have anything happen.
[SPEAKER_02]: So like, hey, why should I make imperial guard?
[SPEAKER_02]: Bastions go out here.
[SPEAKER_02]: Why should I put the fleets out here to defend you between these?
[SPEAKER_02]: How many planets?
[SPEAKER_02]: What are you going to be making?
[SPEAKER_02]: What's going to be the time that you're going to be bringing in?
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be worth it for us to put people out here.
[SPEAKER_02]: If the answer was no, well, yeah, you figure it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not worth our time.
[SPEAKER_01]: You should fist fight the orcs.
[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing too is that there's still our warp storms as we cover it a lot, and so it's also a planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll use an extreme example.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say the imperium finds a planet that just got the exact minerals that they need, but it's the only planet in a system.
[SPEAKER_01]: If a warped storm were to come through and cut that system off, those guys are just all auto dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: They can't, they can't become self-sufficient.
[SPEAKER_01]: As a result, as we're kind of getting at most of imperial spaces in quotations unconquered.
[SPEAKER_01]: It exists.
[SPEAKER_01]: The planets are recorded.
[SPEAKER_01]: The sun's are recorded.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've also said it's ours.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's ours.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's technically not a settlement there.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also not really empty.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is going back to a road trader episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what the road traders spend a lot of their time doing the Explorer road traders are doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going through all of these planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are not that the Imperium knows the planet exists, but has no imperial record of what's on the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the road traders, someone's going through saying, all right, I'm going to go check out is it, what was it, LD for?
[SPEAKER_01]: LV-IV-IV-IV, don't go to LV-IV-IV-IV-IV-IV.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the big thing about this is the road traders often find.
[SPEAKER_02]: old human dimensions from dark age of technology that just got lost and never got brought back in the fall, but also they find as many of those as they do Zeno's races and other things.
[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of times, you get a note from these people you've never, who the hell's the Imperium of man?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they just drop you a card and a rope trader goes, oh, your part of the Imperium of man will see you sometime between now and a thousand years.
[SPEAKER_01]: actually is one note we probably should have mentioned is that, and we talked with, I'm talking from the car, third episode, when the dark age of technology happened, not only did mankind get cut off from itself, but it also lost all records of what planets it was on man.
[SPEAKER_01]: When the Emperor stretched out from Earth, he did not, and I know it's the massive plot hole.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're really not my fault, but I didn't write it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, most powerful psychic being on Earth doesn't know where anything is Jesus man.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, yeah, it's like, you could have just written it down.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, apparently they had no idea where anything was.
[SPEAKER_02]: You can't do everything on his walking.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I just thought the drive got wiped.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have a backup.
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, unusual John tangent of that doesn't make any sense.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as a result,
[SPEAKER_01]: These rogue traders are out there going planet to planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And marking was that each one, a one like little bread never having to discussion about this.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of a funny side notice here.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no record of the imperium having to kind of technology where they could fly over a planet from space and scan it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have to land and go talk to people.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the analogy I used for this was mass effect one.
[SPEAKER_01]: which there is.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is the game good?
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, one of my, if not my favorite series of games to play and serving planets.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you are fans of that stupid tank, you have to drive her on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, who's the worst, you have to find it for no reason.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone who listens to this game design, I have no issue surveying a planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: but unless there's something of like a story value to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let it take me less than five minutes.
[SPEAKER_01]: It really is just knowing when I spend thirty minutes exploring a planet looking at you star field and for no value.
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, but that's what these guys were doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would lay land on a planet and they'd have to go and we're going to get over it later.
[SPEAKER_01]: Why this could get a little bit dicey for these row traders.
[SPEAKER_01]: This process of landing on the planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they would go through.
[SPEAKER_01]: They would mark the planet and they would report back to the Imperium, you know.
[SPEAKER_01]: maybe probably LV-IV-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V
[SPEAKER_02]: and make it good.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Or make it at least two.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're saying good.
[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like over high worlds at some point.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good isn't pretty.
[SPEAKER_01]: We make it usable.
[SPEAKER_01]: How about there?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brad's getting a lot of use out of that word.
[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it gets pretty.
[SPEAKER_01]: So.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the things that become unclaimed, though, to what Brad was mentioning for, are have human settlers.
[SPEAKER_01]: As we just said, there is left over, dark age of technology, they were there, they survived the darkness, but the emperor never got there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they were just kind of like, oh, hey, what's going on?
[SPEAKER_01]: Other ones, though, where you get there next, you might have just been to help find some explorers, because don't forget, the life in the infuriate sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, some of those people just pack up and kind of like, you know, the old wagon ears of the American wife.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're still really explorers, which are another reason why, another reason to love a Forty-K setting is you're like, hey, this is what I'm into and you're like, does Forty-K have it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it does.
[SPEAKER_02]: What do they have?
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, yeah, they can have this.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have basically old Western guys basically going out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Do they have basically firefly happening?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: People are just going to find worlds because this sucks.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out of here.
[SPEAKER_01]: In some ways, it's actually some of the cooler parts of the game.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you also if you have the opportunity to leave, you should ask yourself two questions.
[SPEAKER_02]: One, am I able to leave to am I currently in the ruling class?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and the answer was, yes, to one of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's made.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: What's funny, though, is these brokers will land on a planet, they'll find human beings.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the only problem they weren't doing is that sometimes human beings that are on these plants don't necessarily want to be found because you just stepped into a chaos called, which stepped into a chaos called, you stepped into a
[SPEAKER_02]: giant pirate settlement and just raids other planets and you're like, oh man, because also a lot of these things happen on a wildly big scale.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, because of the fact that it's so far into the future, there has been so much expansion.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have so much access to things that can kind of get you up and running, not full SDC style, but still you can make, you can fab things pretty damn quick.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the an entire planning to get colonized by pirates and they can actually into a giant pirate plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm talking to our two, though, we're talking an entire planet that they probably would name to our two.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, it's GW name.
[SPEAKER_01]: They'd call it our two guests because they don't want to pay for the.
[SPEAKER_02]: It would also be ruled by Captain John Spare.
[SPEAKER_01]: Another problem, the only thing that comes up in Imperial space a lot, though, is worlds that actually are listed as part of the Imperium, but haven't sent their supplies recently.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they've gone dark.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are the other ones of the road traders have to go and check in on.
[SPEAKER_02]: And these are also the dangers of these are the ones that the road traders are sometimes like, you know, we'll get these
[SPEAKER_02]: Soon.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's funny because I mean, I was when we were right in the notes for this, I was thinking about the story with Van Gorge when he killed all the high lords of Tara.
[SPEAKER_01]: So he was on Tara.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for us, centrally, he ruled for a century before anyone showed up.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, hey, um,
[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on here, guys?
[SPEAKER_01]: So you can imagine, these are planets go dark a lie.
[SPEAKER_01]: If Terra, if that could happen at Terra, and he can be in charge for a hundred years, the male hasn't been delivered in a while.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine if you were on a planet, like, I don't know, forty-two months of warp travel away from Terra, and it just went dark.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, we'll get there in a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: So all of that's effectively a long way of us saying the imperial space is in flux.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, they're just worlds being conquered, worlds being destroyed, both by invaders and by the Imperium, because the exterminatus does exist.
[SPEAKER_01]: But at its core, what really matters is Imperium needs supplies.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what matters.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium needs... And they are pretty goddamn big about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's dive in, Brad, what is an Imperial world?
[SPEAKER_02]: A parallel world is some of the paste taxes, quote, quote, unquote.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hold on, paste taxes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Number one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Follows and pure law.
[SPEAKER_02]: Huge air quotes going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, did you pay your taxes?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: That is a hard you have to.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Follow the law.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you pay your taxes, we probably won't show up if you keep paying your taxes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the other thing that is a hard big yes is whatever widget you're supposed to be making, whether it's ships, steering wheels, wheat, whatever it is, make as much of that as we told you to make.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you probably be left alone, don't join chaos, at least don't gen chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: over.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you're sending stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: There was a chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: God of production and tax paying.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: They would be like real blind.
[SPEAKER_01]: I going to that one's okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're all okay with it with this one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Ted the god of tax pay.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ted's fine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ted is not heresy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're also, so all of them are ruled by a planetary government.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we say all of them, some planetary governors will rule multiple planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a, it's such a giant, imperial, obviously, so you have regional control.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what these planetary governors are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Their job is just to make sure whatever they're in charge of keeps doing the thing it's supposed to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: And in these worlds also have their own local customs.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I say local customs, and you're like, hey, it's a plan.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's some stuff going on that's been going on for I don't know, forty thousand years of history.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that's going on.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you still have to pay your taxes, make your stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, if somebody shows up,
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, better know the right things to say about the emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, yeah, it's someone who shows up with a bunch of like weird iconography all over them.
[SPEAKER_01]: You love the emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: The emperor is the best.
[SPEAKER_01]: We can't make the worship emperor quick throw up the emperor plaques before they did their ships landing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know put some stuff up.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you should put some posters up.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right now don't go fast.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're pretty hardcore about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But effectively, the governor has one job, and that is make sure the stuff we talked about earlier, key tapping.
[SPEAKER_01]: Taxes are paid and good ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the third one for governor is making sure the inquisition doesn't think anything of your planet, because if any of those three change, you get to stop being, if you're a governor, or your planet stops being, but it stops being a member of the imperial records.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty quick.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: One thing that we've never discussed before, and this feels the best time to do it, is how law is run in the impairment.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, but
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like a more than I do.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't hate them like John hates tile, but I have a love hate relationship where we're gonna talk about next.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which is the adeptest art bites, which is straight up judge dress.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even close, like it's it is.
[SPEAKER_02]: They wear the judge dress helmet.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's his whole outfit.
[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I like them because judge trends cool, but it's such a wild rip off.
[SPEAKER_02]: The probably the stories are wildly different about what they do them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Some are their this tactical force that police is.
[SPEAKER_02]: And some are kind of cool, almost detecting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Eisenhower rolls with a depth of his art by, yeah, in the first book.
[SPEAKER_02]: I actually use it with a depth of his art itself.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they are, tactically, they're, I don't know, they're like, SWAT team detectives.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, in the, in the, it's referred.
[SPEAKER_01]: In the novels, they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: What they really are is the imperial police force and immigration and Coast Guard and air traffic control and a bunch of stuff because what's so the cool thing about the depth of our bites is the way they're organized.
[SPEAKER_01]: I find them cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not actually cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just, it's mildly interesting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because they have a weird policy.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't report to them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but the thing is they have this weird thing because almost everywhere has some sort if you're in a area that has anything has some sort of imperial guard presence.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's always going to be garrisons of imperial guard all over the place and they work not with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They work adjacent to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is, but
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone who doesn't have who's military knows about where I'm about to go with this.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the same way the U.S.
[SPEAKER_01]: is structured, I believe Britain is structured this way, everything is structured this way.
[SPEAKER_01]: Governments don't have the military be the rule of law.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have two separate groups.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the idea is that for enemies abroad, that is history, all the ones.
[SPEAKER_02]: I get that, but the problem is, is that we've shown in the Forty Can.
[SPEAKER_02]: Forty Can, time and time again, is like, hey, people are acting up, have the Imperial Garden.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the Imperial Garden is totally going to do it anyway.
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's where the RBites, what I like about the RBites is the RBites service weird purpose.
[SPEAKER_01]: They actually report to a high lord of terror, which is, so they don't report to a governor.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is an Imperial governor runs, you know, his planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: his police force doesn't report.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just I'll use it for one of the changes, but
[SPEAKER_01]: they all, they don't report to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're this independent police force.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're also, like the Coast Card though, they fly around on ships randomly, like searching circles, and they're like, they have the best shit.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're regular dudes though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, and they are full blown judge dread.
[SPEAKER_01]: And every end of second, like what they were allowed to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: But they're actually, they're the ones who arrest corrupt governors.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, unless they're the one by chaos in which case.
[SPEAKER_02]: That everybody's.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then in prison, sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the attempt to start by it's more in charge of not being.
[SPEAKER_02]: The plan is air governor's personal force.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this actually helps, in some ways, this really helps the terror control the galaxy, because within your biggest fear when you're set up the way the imperium is is that a local governor who, like the Brad said, let's say he's not holding a plan.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's holding multiple systems.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a person who has wealth that's almost unheard of.
[SPEAKER_01]: If they had control of the carbides or even control of some of the local guardsmen,
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to wage war to get them out.
[SPEAKER_01]: The cool power that they are bites have, though, is they do have autonomy because they report the Lord of Tara, not to the governor.
[SPEAKER_01]: They have autonomy to arrest, to detain, to search.
[SPEAKER_01]: They carry almost at the road traders have there, whatever the thing was called.
[SPEAKER_01]: An Arbite can just pull your ship over, and however you pull a ship over in space, and, and search, probably not a space marine ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to get told to go have themselves not when pretty quick, but for a like regular guy moving through, this is what the Arbite's power is, which does bring me to a common in my notes, where I do want to bitch about this again, because I like to do this from time to time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Currently, my current count is people who have full autonomy within the, within the Imperium are Arbites,
[SPEAKER_01]: Inquisition, rogue traders, space marines, and ecclesiarchy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just so far.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, who doesn't have full authority?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it just seems like you'd have the throne, like that spider-man meme where they're all pointing at each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, and you're not, here's the thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're not wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the better the part about this is,
[SPEAKER_02]: you act like full autonomy means you don't really answer to like some people this particular group.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it means that like if you're just going to work, John and I are getting their lunchboxes going down to the, the cyberaming of mine.
[SPEAKER_02]: I made up a word for that one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
[SPEAKER_02]: And one of any of those groups says you were caught next to this other fill.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of this color part of whatever it is that they're doing wrong.
[SPEAKER_02]: They just shoot us.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, me, that's, that's, let's go.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say that's also one of the best things.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the better one.
[SPEAKER_01]: The issues is the better one.
[SPEAKER_01]: They just all said what I like is that you could have, you could be walking to work and an inquisitor pulls you over and says, you have to go do this thing for me.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when you at work to go break into the hard drive and give me this information, and you go, okay, inquisitor, I'll go do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you keep walking to work and then our bike stops you and says, when you get to work, if you break into the hard drive and still information, I will shoot you in your head.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you really can't pick one of those two.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you could even, and if you would hold the two, hey, so and so, hold me to do this, they'd also both still shoot you.
[SPEAKER_01]: So effectively, it sucks being a citizen in the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: I do like the note.
[SPEAKER_02]: If you see a person with authority, just hide.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's all you do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Just hide.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're in the Imperium and see a person with authority, don't make eye.
[SPEAKER_01]: Last little bit of the on the R bite so about kind of where they function is we do see them work with inquisitors a lot.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they pick them up quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's probably the biggest use, because as we said before, inquisitors have to work on these planets.
[SPEAKER_02]: They need supplies and muscle.
[SPEAKER_01]: These supplies and muscle, but on a small scale, they've gotten pure a guard for larger conflicts.
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, occasionally, and bring in deathwatch or space marines or sisters, which are pretty heavily specialized.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are a shock trooper guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're into, if you're in the Arbites are interesting, check the models out, the models look cool as hell, and read the judge's dread comic books, because that's really what they're.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to make us any one.
[SPEAKER_01]: So from here though, let's we've got to cover how Imperial space works.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's dive into the planets, because that actually is the topic of the podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: So point three minutes in.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're getting on topic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Go team for changes.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Charge.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we're doing it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, in period classification, there's a lot of different terms for the sake of our cast.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're broken down into kind of three basic things.
[SPEAKER_01]: People with planets, with people on them, planets with no people on them, planets that used to have people on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty simple, pretty basic.
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of these are short, some of these are more complicated.
[SPEAKER_01]: As we said, the road traders are going to these planets and they're, they go and they surveyed the planet.
[SPEAKER_01]: They get the information back to the Imperium and the Imperium does one of three things with it.
[SPEAKER_01]: One, they classify it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Two, they, they remove it from, from existence.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or three, they tell the road trader that, that planet was never there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's already, it's pre-be removed from existence.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we've got, let's just jump in.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to cannonball.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what all people, and it doesn't mean they don't own people.
[SPEAKER_02]: It means they have people that saw maybe exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: But basically super epically, cataclysmic worlds, something we blew it up already.
[SPEAKER_02]: We've got one of my favorites in the game, which is, they used to have hazardous.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Things that could kill you in Forty-K by going into the terrain.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you've got dead worlds from tier worlds, waste worlds, demonic worlds of course, which are now a good deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Two worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you don't really know that there are two worlds until you find out that there are two worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: You find out there are two worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of these, remember, these are worlds, these are worlds that, you know, some of these, you land on the manages, like, oh, the best road trader lands and the road trader doesn't get a message back out or the road trader runs back out screaming, don't go there, don't go there, don't go there, don't go there, don't go there.
[SPEAKER_01]: To a dead world, as we covered, that's the world of toxins war.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we say war, we mean like a word happened a while.
[SPEAKER_01]: Effectively, there's nothing left.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you'd stumbled across a world that was, let's say that Eldar had fought the works on it and there's nothing left.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a dead world.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a dead world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Any world that has been touched by tenants.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they leave it literally devoid of resources.
[SPEAKER_01]: But on the side, an entering note on dead worlds, Calaban was a death with a death world.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, Calibar wasn't a dead world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Calibar wasn't death.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a death world.
[SPEAKER_01]: My mistake.
[SPEAKER_01]: The next ones are like the frontier worlds, which just is what it sounds like.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a worldly edge of imperial space.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean there's people maybe going to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They might already be settlers on the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: But right now, it's there and again, don't be in the West.
[SPEAKER_02]: get better.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll bring it.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll send more guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's really, yeah, that's what they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Technically, they're probably people on a lot of them, but you need to establish your value to the Imperium before we're going to put you on a, you know, patrol route.
[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite ones, actually, though, is just that, actually, from a lower sound, I thought it's funny, is a waste world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you know you like my comment there.
[SPEAKER_01]: A waste world is a planet that we dump garbage on.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is.
[SPEAKER_01]: The aquarium just says, yeah, fired into the sun.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what it says, gravity.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just fly over top of it and dump it.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe my note here was it's like a nicer Cleveland move on.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even live there.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why he defending Cleveland.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone defending Cleveland.
[SPEAKER_01]: Demon Worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: These, we're gonna skip these a bit though, because there's demons called to swirls of stuff like this.
[SPEAKER_02]: These aren't really as much types of worlds as in.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to fight you in a little bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's the galaxy's a busy place right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason that it's, there's only war.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe it doesn't corrupt, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Could be wrong here.
[SPEAKER_01]: My thought, my interpretation of a demon world was that this is like a planet that is sitting just on the edge of the material in material.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's kind of in the warp.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so it's not very intonaisable.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's a big deal now, also after Abadon split the galaxy in half.
[SPEAKER_02]: The rift is a real thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so there's planets who sit in that rift.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not even that you can't actually, some of the worlds are actually beautiful, but they're so close that they're listed as don't go here.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is just where you send people that want to join a cast called, because they're going to be corrupted.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, man, is there corruption?
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like, right there, I can see it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm looking at the new exploded eye.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like if we settle here, everything from that eye is going to be here with.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the last note, of course, is two worlds, which we're going to do in that one episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't worry.
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, two worlds, two worlds are bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't, as a human, you don't want to be on a two world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the grumpy neighbors, planets that used to have people are equally bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Chaos and Zenos are real.
[SPEAKER_01]: They continuously conquer places, but also, I will say, it's not just, that's not the only reason you lose planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: Imperium isn't the best at mining a planet, sometimes
[SPEAKER_01]: You crack the core.
[SPEAKER_01]: These plants, these have people on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are planets that sometimes mankind just sacrificed it to a chaos incursion.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes mankind went too far with us.
[SPEAKER_02]: We also are pretty cool with collateral damage more fighting.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: This planet's a little out of the way.
[SPEAKER_02]: If we just let them take this planet, then fight them.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll make it over to here.
[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be regular.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because we do have me as much as production's amazing, there's the large limited resources in the imperial.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that actually brings us to the first one, which is a forbidden world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Our forbidden world is, was a happy part of the Imperium that the Inquisition goes... No.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we haven't had the time to do anything about it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And right now in this timeline, the Imperium is really stretched.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: We are actually being invaded from, yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's nothing but the conflict.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, why bother sometimes?
[SPEAKER_01]: So these are forbidden worlds, or worlds the Inquisition has said, remove this from Imperial record, and there's probably going to be an exterminate scum.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just hasn't gotten there yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: The next one is just a derelict world.
[SPEAKER_01]: These ones, this is the one that road traders spike in that spend their most time going to, which is a derelict world's a world that went dark.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you have to find out why.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there are some, there are some best cases, mining error, you know?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there's mining error.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get into some of the specific types because
[SPEAKER_02]: The Imperium gets real specific on what your planet's supposed to do.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll touch on that and just a bit.
[SPEAKER_02]: So sometimes we forget to send you food.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the planet's all dead.
[SPEAKER_01]: The thing is the Imperium will just sit there, listen, the road traders out.
[SPEAKER_01]: If the locator comes back, and the world was important, and their work here is like, yeah, everyone's dead, but there's nothing actively there.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium will just go, all right.
[SPEAKER_01]: load a ship, send a billion people there, we're recolonizing it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they end up going back into the fold quite a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, well, it was valuable before.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll figure out what happened later.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, again, LV-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V-V.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also ones that have people on them that are not part of the imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this was actually, these are another ones that are kind of interesting.
[SPEAKER_01]: We think about chaos and all this stuff that goes into them.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just worlds that were conquered by mankind, then Dark Age of Technology happened, and we've never reclaimed them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because twenty thousand years went by.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we don't feel like it.
[SPEAKER_02]: because it's also a lot of times out of the way, and these people just had a lot of these people also have pretty high levels of time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because they, they're still sitting on STC's and things of that nature, and then they add back finds out, and then you don't have it anymore.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the, you don't want to have one thing we probably should mention.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you, if you have an STC in the Forty-K millennia, don't tell anybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't end well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So these are worlds that are either self-sufficient but really too far off the beaten path for it to be worth it to the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: or their worlds that are actually their self-sufficient, but they don't have enough mineral resource to be that valuable.
[SPEAKER_01]: You get worlds that are like, you're like, they talk about the feudal worlds, which man kind of, she has actually descended from a technology to a point where they're back with, like, finally with swords.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just a, man, and the apparent looks, those planets and goes, it's just not really worth the time.
[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I don't care about enough people there.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's funny because you think, come on, they wouldn't just leave whole world.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, yeah, again, if you're being invaded on a galaxy wide, you're going to make some.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there are, it's all actual decisions.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're sitting there saying, okay, if we want to, if we conquer this world, we bring it back to the fold.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let's skip the ones that might fight back.
[SPEAKER_01]: I say it's an easy one for us to conquer.
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, you have to go bring billions of people to that world.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to build the factories.
[SPEAKER_01]: You do all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: What if it's like four warp jumps away from where you want it?
[SPEAKER_01]: It just becomes a screw.
[SPEAKER_01]: It will get to it later.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm putting this on our recording today.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's typically John and I drink some lime and sit down.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm you have cough drops hot tea.
[SPEAKER_02]: and I'm currently drinking out of the glass out of Jod's cover that says, roses are red, foxes are clever, I like your butt, let me touch it forever.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like to buy my wife cute things.
[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't understand where are we going today.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a lot of normal bugs.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, but with all that, that's diet.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that kind of gives you the overall arching.
[SPEAKER_01]: So these, what we've just covered there was all the planets that are part of the Imperium that the Imperium is not actively on.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now we want to dive into the ones that are actually settled.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess the better way of saying that, let me do it again.
[SPEAKER_01]: What we just went over were all the unsettled planets that make up the imperial.
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of them for obvious reasons.
[SPEAKER_01]: But let's dive into the ones that actually are settled.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so again, if you guys came figure out, I like to categorize stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was my brain work better when I do these things.
[SPEAKER_01]: So these ones, we're going to say production, government, and war.
[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the three purposes these planets are there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Again, in some of the production worlds are
[SPEAKER_02]: kind of warm.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, there's there's always going to be a problem here exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is I do want to I want to go with this real quick.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is why we said some planets just became black.
[SPEAKER_02]: We had to repopulate them again.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because the Imperium will literally take everything they need from your planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: And when I say everything I mean, hey, man, it would be cool if we had all of the water and all of the everything like I want this soil.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they go, you guys now make storm race.
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[SPEAKER_02]: And all of a sudden you're like, what?
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, we'll ship food to you from one of the production worlds, agricultural worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then all of a sudden you don't get your
[SPEAKER_02]: water and food and you go, does this planet have anything?
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, oh, no, they took that a thousand years ago.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oops, you're all dead, but the factories are still there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you just take it back through.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you just bring a new population of people.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, sorry about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry about that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Our bad and the last one.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we messed it up.
[SPEAKER_01]: There was a skipped email.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, planets of the Imperium have a few things in common.
[SPEAKER_01]: One, unless you're incredibly wealthy, they suck to live on.
[SPEAKER_01]: To suck is mad that you compare it.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do some pre-deep dives in some of these worlds, but yeah, basically most, if, I mean, we discuss if you are a member of the other nobility, things are totally cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: It rocks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not,
[SPEAKER_01]: You've also got a problem at any time, you've got invaders, which are not just Zenos.
[SPEAKER_01]: There are pirates in Forty Kay, as an expected to be.
[SPEAKER_01]: Even internally, you've got roving gangs.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got all these things.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium only cares that goods are a rough.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't really care how they're made.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium is a giant sausage factor.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the thing again, I can't stress enough the basis of the game the world war is that
[SPEAKER_02]: everything about the imperium is to fight the wars that are going on right now that are continuous and never ending.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they are wars of survival.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are not wars of like this, but let's distract the populace with a war.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a, the tyrannids are trying to eat us.
[SPEAKER_01]: The, you know, the cast is trying to destroy the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Drew Carrey are gross.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tell.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, or it's going to log.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a log coming.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: All these things.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Emperor, Imperium is not wrong to do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's actually start with war worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Worlds that are actually a key part of the war effort.
[SPEAKER_01]: Primarily.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's their meaning.
[SPEAKER_02]: But there's some big things about these, like, you have things like Armory, Fortress Worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Armory are... It's the munitions, Dom.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's start with Armory Worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just a planet of munitions.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Amazon warehouse.
[SPEAKER_01]: of the Imperium.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a big deal.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like really a planetary warehouse.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you think about it, we've just discussed before, the astronauts don't randomly jump places.
[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of follow the brilliant routes.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to dump these armory worlds on there so that you can go to this one place and get every gun, you know, orbital cannon, whatever it is you're going to need to go and just
[SPEAKER_01]: wage war.
[SPEAKER_02]: And again, when we see these places are defended, it's not like, hey, there's some, some guards been there.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a, forty thousand satellites probably several moons are around you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, with comically at me level, you can't just point it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I actually, this is, if I'm, if you're an imperial citizen, this is actually a pretty good place to live because
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not, you're not going to get a z-nose incursion.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably not going to get a chaos incursion.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the plus side you have all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Downside is you are sitting on a planet that is comprised of nuclear weapons.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if things go wrong, you won't know it went wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: You will just see existence.
[SPEAKER_01]: But these worlds are pretty critical.
[SPEAKER_01]: The next one, though, that you're going to are a fortress world, which are comical in how they built the media with the fortress world, I believe.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because everything's surrounding.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so these ones.
[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is, is that when you're in a fortress world, as opposed to an army world, army worlds are where we ship stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we keep people away from them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Fortress worlds, are we put them
[SPEAKER_02]: put them, we didn't just put the planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: We choose them to be Fortress Worlds because they're on the front lines or close enough, which means that this is a shitty world that live on because you are going to die because you are our regular dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they put guns on top of guns here.
[SPEAKER_01]: A fortress world can take out and invading fleet by itself.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's got enough guns on it to do that.
[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is, is that, well, because it has all that, it means that shit is probably always going down.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the note I made here was tedious, tedious was a fortress world and the keyword there is was fortress worlds are in
[SPEAKER_01]: incredibly dangerous to be on because they only exist to have brutal levels of conflict.
[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, I do love that John has rated each one on a scale of one to ten and chances to die.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Chits of Violet Death.
[SPEAKER_01]: My chances of nothing died in forty days, ninety nine.
[SPEAKER_01]: Chits of Violet Death on a armor world was like three out of ten on a fortress world.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a seven out of ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: The new one though that just actually got added in the recent part of the game might have been a Leviathan was the Sentinel world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, since Bobby, you came back.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it wouldn't have been the eighth edition then.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we've had eight, the different five years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, five, no more than that.
[SPEAKER_02]: It would be a enough one.
[SPEAKER_01]: I've definitely.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Sentinel world is is
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a very Bobby G solution to a problem, which is, I've got tyrannies rampaging, orx rampaging, Necrons arising up.
[SPEAKER_01]: How can I just put some stuff in between the two of them?
[SPEAKER_01]: So a central world is just a world that exists between an enemy and a world you care about.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of a fortress world, but it's not a fortress world.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just because we haven't had a tout dig, we passed it over, but as usual, in the notes, John said, listing threats, he went, I mean, they're not really a threat.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's fine, we're not just a threat.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just tell lovers, I want to make sure that John still shit on your post every episode.
[SPEAKER_01]: And only at this point, I'm just doing it because of tradition.
[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, they're kind of this, they're almost like a faux fortress world where, yes, we put guns on it, we don't invest the level we do at a fortress world.
[SPEAKER_01]: So getting sent here real bad.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is... Freybody G-Levers though, G-Man is, like, amazing.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's the king of the ship.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is... He's literally... He's literally looked at the maps and looked at things and goes,
[SPEAKER_02]: In twenty years, this is going to have an invasion coming this way.
[SPEAKER_02]: So start building a world here and he's like, well, what's it going to do?
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, it's probably going to get plowed, but I need you to just do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: But while it gets plowed, we're going to come in from the other sides.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is, it's a sacrificial, it's a sacrificial world.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a sacrificial world.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to sacrifice this world to an invading force and then
[SPEAKER_01]: primarily tear it is while they're eating the world, we're going to counter attack and just wreck shop.
[SPEAKER_02]: But we need you guys to stay alive long enough for us to get there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as I said, armory world chance of on death, three out of ten, fortress world, maybe seven or eight out of ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: This one's in the leaven out of ten.
[SPEAKER_01]: You if you're in the center world, you die, especially if you're in a center world with chaos because
[SPEAKER_02]: After all the warring ends, and then the inquisitive shows up and goes, you suck it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I see exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: So those are the worlds that are kind of part of the war effort in that level.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break.
[SPEAKER_01]: The next one, though, is the government worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these are the ones who were designed to kind of keep the imperium running smoothly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So to speak, it's just, these are weird, though.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because they, they vary wildly in what life is.
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about it in the next episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: But these are crazy.
[SPEAKER_02]: because you have the number of worlds you have, things like the cardinals, the ecclesiarchies.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they are massive palace slash fortresses slash chapels that are there to overwhelm you with how awesome the emperor is.
[SPEAKER_01]: planet-sized church that the Cardinal sits on because remember we talked earlier about Imperial Governor.
[SPEAKER_01]: There are technically two Imperial regional governors.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got the Imperial Governor and then you have the ecclesiastic Cardinal and they both will oversee the same things.
[SPEAKER_01]: but I would actually argue that the Cardinal has more power because the Imperial Governor, the Arbites won't work for, but the sisters of that'll do work for the Cardinal.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if there's a disagreement, you're gonna lose.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just don't want that one out there.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just gonna have super powers.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's just the demons.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just the... That's gonna be a fun episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it is a big deal with this because the cardinal worlds are supposed to communicate basically where the Ecclesiarchy is moving.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's massive forces for one, but also people flocked to these.
[SPEAKER_02]: These are like giant mecca places to go to see the might of the Emperor.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's one of the things where if you get involved, even at a low level, like these Yarky, there's chances that you can just make it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this will be the weirdly enough, the highlighted of your life, even though the trip is still probably suck, because you get to see something awesome that isn't you putting widget A and the widget B. But they send a lot of, they do a lot of training here.
[SPEAKER_02]: and a lot of wacky training because they send a lot of people here to do specific things.
[SPEAKER_02]: They also do frasely terrible stuff here too because they
[SPEAKER_01]: This is where they build a pendant.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's an engine.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's an engine is built here, which is going to be a, I'm going to be honest with you guys, that the sister's cast is going to be creepy.
[SPEAKER_02]: They do some, some, the cathedrals are pretty good to look at and some, but you should probably not take the tour into the basement.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, lower levels get a little rough.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they also keep planetary governance in life with this, because they want people to be into the religion.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they will have governors from different systems to stuff come into these cardinal worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because they don't, the cardinals and the programmers don't want to be in conflict with each other.
[SPEAKER_01]: They want to work together.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so these worlds do have, we're going to pleasure worlds a little bit.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also have a little bit of that going for them, too, where it's like they can wine and die in local, local dignity.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they also want to impress them with how powerful the Ecclesi RT is.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they will have sisters training going on and stuff like that and like the massiveness of the whole thing is a song and dance a little bit on the top because you want to show them this is how awesome the emperor is all that off the cardinal world is another similar one called a shrine world and the shrine world is just it's a world where
[SPEAKER_01]: a miracle quote unquote has happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: These are again, they're part of the Ecclesiarchy and these are designed to kind of keep the citizen rehab.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they exist for.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a place that you would go to as a citizen.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not going to go to a card in the world for like if you're like you'll trip to Mecca, you go to a shrine world and you can see like these like a great shrine to what the saint who died fighting
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's usually one more that died there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they would have died there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, remember, I think the note I made here is the imperms not building amusement parks.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is kind of the best thing you got is you can go somewhere and say, oh, I read this story about someone so who single-handedly held back a tide of orcs because of their belief in the emperor.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to go and see the battle field that they did this on.
[SPEAKER_01]: For those of you, Americans live in the East Coast, or anyone who lives in Europe, some of you can see battlefields that are still there.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you live in the West, maybe there might be one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do we do Night Worlds, Brad?
[SPEAKER_02]: Night Worlds?
[SPEAKER_02]: Well,
[SPEAKER_02]: their imperial nights as in walking tightens and the smaller everything from smaller nights to the big boys.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they are weirdly enough all feudal houses.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they fight a certain way and they make certain types of nights a little bit better than the others.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's crazy because these worlds are devoted to this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, it's because an imperial night, it's, you, it's, I mean, you really can't just be taught to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be raised from birth to be able to pilot these things.
[SPEAKER_01]: They interact with your actual brain.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's how, that's how a night pilot works.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the only way to actually get these things able to work is you have households where even they're genetically
[SPEAKER_02]: similar enough that they have specific it's why the specific night the night they don't have as much right now but in past rules yeah you had different rules for each feudal house and what specifics they were good exactly they moved a little faster they were a little more defensive they were more offensive they they all had a different style of combat
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where it's at least having higher worlds devoted to them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, that's where they're feudal.
[SPEAKER_01]: You have the upper echelon of the world are the night pilots.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then everyone else kind of fills in the gaps below them.
[SPEAKER_01]: But these worlds are extremely important for the Imperium, as you could imagine, because you can't have imperial nights without pilots.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you can't have pilots, you don't have night worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they've got this weird little dichotic.
[SPEAKER_02]: And these are large enough, and we don't go fully into the, you know, the attempt to stay cancels on this.
[SPEAKER_02]: But like, like the Titans themselves are cities.
[SPEAKER_02]: And even the Knights, when you're giving them to the smallest Knights, they still require a support staff to make this thing run.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so people are trained, and they're basically in a cast system about that.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's pilots.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's gunners, there's guys that are just specifically for repairing, gleaning, getting the night from point A to point B. They, it's a whole thing of squires on up to just the servants that do things.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's taken really serious.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it is again, because your loyalty and your appreciation of the Emperor, you stay in your role.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these worlds, one note is that they're usually near a forge world.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is the way it structures is the night world, the people are brought up.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got pilots from birth, they're being trained how to do this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're usually near an admec forge world that then builds the nights for them.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they work in tandem in this one.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll get the forge worlds in a minute here.
[SPEAKER_01]: The interesting thing about this is that it creates politically
[SPEAKER_01]: a weird situation, because the forge world, the forge world is run by the advent, as we said before, the advent are not necessarily part of the imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if I work, if I live in a night world,
[SPEAKER_01]: I am beholden to the ad-Mac because without them, I don't get my night.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm also beholden to the Imperium because without their sign-off, I cease to exist.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's also, they have to ship me my stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so it's weird things.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they actually end up the comic space marines.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the space mariner recruiting worlds where they are this independent body within the Imperium that no one really wants to mess with because it's so important for the war effort.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they all, again, because it's worlds, they have their own traditions and things of the nature.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we're pretty still backwards, Dard.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're, again, we don't make new, besides the Ad Mac.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're kind of operating pretty blurry on the line.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody else is not allowed to adjust anything because it's heresy.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, I wanted to fix how this works.
[SPEAKER_02]: We should shoot this hair and take out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, no, no, you don't.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't touch it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This will work so much better if I did kill him.
[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm going to tell me actually one of my favorites and it's favorite from a dark standpoint, pleasure worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the last kind of like, you look like I classified these under government because pleasure worlds are made for one class only and it's the ruling class.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're the only ones who ever go there.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not ruling class and you're on a pleasure world, I'm going to get to that in a second, you're probably not getting as much of the pleasure out of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the Imperium has an issue where I've got these feudal governors, and they are, we're going to dive into high roads later, but a lot of these imperial governors are overseeing planets.
[SPEAKER_01]: That are shit.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are toxic wastelands.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're in charge of it, so it doesn't suck as much for them, but they tell us to be on it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they send them to Naboo.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And take them on them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everything weird stuff happens.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so that that's what they've built these pleasure ones so that an imperial governor or Cardinal, whoever it is can get a nice little break from being a little bit too close to the common folk.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so they build these things out and the pleasure worlds are that's what they're designed to just keep people happy.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't because what you don't want the end of the day, remember
[SPEAKER_01]: if an imperial governor decides to turn on the imperial, or start taking money from himself.
[SPEAKER_01]: As we've discussed, the carbides can kill him.
[SPEAKER_01]: The English can show the space of this, but it's still going to create a disruption.
[SPEAKER_02]: They would rather just have them happy and less corrupt.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: We know that you're going to be a little corrupt.
[SPEAKER_02]: We need you to be don't mess with how the make the spice flow.
[SPEAKER_01]: the level that this game's a rip off of doing is impressive.
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, but that's what that's what these things are.
[SPEAKER_01]: The pleasure roles exist to keep them saying, well, I can't make it that much better for myself by screwing over the imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I will die if I do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So I love that you put things that they want you to keep running.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to have a level of, don't worry about it conscious.
[SPEAKER_02]: When you're like, hey, man, I heard that that guy and everybody knows does a little bit of psychic.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, cool.
[SPEAKER_02]: We need to put them in a shovel and dump them in the oven of the effort.
[SPEAKER_01]: That being said, pleasure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Rolls do have a little bit of a downside.
[SPEAKER_01]: Brett, is there a chaos god that you think might be into pleasure cults?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, these are basically just some ash creating grass.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is, if we think about, like we talked before about like demon worlds or world that used to have people on it, I don't have any numbers on this, but I expect that there's a certain percentage of pleasure worlds that just go dark every so often.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, because it's just where you just go, the inquisition could just have a guy and a gun on a, in a lawn chair, just shooting people.
[SPEAKER_02]: It would just be true.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, no, this is where I mentioned earlier, if you are not a member of the nobility and you're on a pleasure world, that means your job is probably to be this.
[SPEAKER_01]: And some of these people are monsters.
[SPEAKER_01]: So just like we discussed in the fall of the L.R.
[SPEAKER_01]: These pleasure worlds descend into that fruity.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like incidentally, it's, you again had a guy that's super okay with sending thousands of people to the desk every day.
[SPEAKER_01]: And literally, my, my thought process, the timeline is, you know, I look at like an amusement park.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium builds a new pleasure world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone gets there and it's like white sand beaches.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's perfect drinks by the pool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everything's this and like isn't this great?
[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's in all the business.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is great.
[SPEAKER_01]: Four days later, they're just screams of murder because they're just killing the staff or fun and they're like, why did you do that again?
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the end again.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the most important thing there was again, every time you people do this, the inquisitions just like we're on our way, that's effectively what happens on pleasure roads.
[SPEAKER_01]: The last group is production worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: And these are what really make up the imperium.
[SPEAKER_01]: If we think of the majority of imperial space, it's going to be production worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're at war, one, two, carry the one, a hundred percent of the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And also, let me count the play everywhere.
[SPEAKER_02]: And all the time.
[SPEAKER_02]: We need supplies, check all.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we need this.
[SPEAKER_02]: And what did we need it?
[SPEAKER_02]: We need it now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't get a yesterday to actually.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the known I made is the imperium is built on out producing their enemies.
[SPEAKER_01]: So for those of you who play forty k competitively, and you play the imperium, you're playing a horde army.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they are.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're a horde army.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is is we're really good.
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's a horrific place to be, but
[SPEAKER_02]: We are staying in the fight because we just make shit better than everybody else does.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about the complexity we're talking about here, there are, we have to take stuff from all over the galaxy, bring it all across the galaxy, turn it from a something that was in the ground into a lads gun or orbital cannon, you know, Sarah, my armor, you know, type thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is what the Imperium is built around.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the first one though that we'll dive into is
[SPEAKER_01]: people need to eat.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's a key thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't solved that one yet.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so they had the issue, though, is that you can't, as Brad would discuss, we specialise.
[SPEAKER_01]: You're a pyramid special.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you have to at this point in time.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because we need all of the things, all of the time, we can't, this is why it's a hell of all.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's why life in the forty-first millennium is just shit you nightmare.
[SPEAKER_02]: But we make worlds that do one thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: And one of the things is,
[SPEAKER_02]: Aggravils.
[SPEAKER_02]: And when you talk agravils, agravils are weirdly enough wildly different.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, some agravils are making food for a different sheet of populist and stuff like that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Other ones look like the back of the train in snow here, sir.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, but that's what they're making.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're making that you wish you were getting the slot from the Matrix ship.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're just pumping out
[SPEAKER_02]: millions of tons of stuff that will keep you alive.
[SPEAKER_02]: Other worlds are making food food.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's others, maybe they're just making chicken rice and broccoli, from Brad's all.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think those on the Brad was a quite actually quite the bodybuilder one point in his life and spent a lot of years having chicken broccoli.
[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of, yeah, it's just
[SPEAKER_01]: So, these actually, I think, might be one of the best places to live if you're not noble, if you have your ability because there is... If you're a worker drone, this, I think the Ag, it depends on which ager role.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because some of the ager roles that are just basically making continuous slopp still kind of suck almost like a hybrid role.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: The ones that are making real stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you'd always stay around.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, hey man, what's your world?
[SPEAKER_02]: Are these things you in the face every fifteen minutes and be like,
[SPEAKER_02]: So B plus.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you are in the ones that are not making some pressure.
[SPEAKER_02]: Sun, not really populated because they don't want, they don't need them.
[SPEAKER_02]: And people, they need space to grow stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you grow things.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not bad places to live.
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't pay much.
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't pay much.
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't pay much.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Next one from there is a world that we should mention because it's used to cause a lot of contention in the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Forge Worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing to do with actually the lore is going to do with the issue with the game, but for those of us who play with us, but some of them applaud a forge world model.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a forge worlds are terrible, but they also are what keeps the Imperium in the fight because they make.
[SPEAKER_02]: all the things that we need to apply.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Tanks, ships, nights, more guns.
[SPEAKER_01]: All the big stuff comes out of a forge world.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the forge world is basically going to forge worlds is there actually technically run by the admin.
[SPEAKER_01]: So a forge world is not, it is under the control of the admin because that's who makes all the big stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: So all your tanks, all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you're also not allowed to know how they're making it.
[SPEAKER_02]: So even though you're in a giant forge,
[SPEAKER_02]: And you're making the left finger of a night.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're not allowed to know how anything else goes.
[SPEAKER_02]: Make your damn finger and go away.
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't don't look around.
[SPEAKER_02]: And your family has made the finger for the last two thousand years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, and I think the other thing is AdMekker also not the biggest.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say their OSHA violations would be pretty high.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're working on a forge world, you're living on a forge world, you are surrounded by giant machinery that just falls randomly, sparks fire.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you are required.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're working at your station and one of the admet guys decides,
[SPEAKER_02]: that you don't do your job as effectively as you can, you just get a new set of arms or your eyeball plugs into the thing now, so you can go faster.
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you want any of these things?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, but you have them now.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're also, you don't have two legs.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have two more designed three stalks that you stand on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Or just or treads.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, whatever it makes it, whatever makes you do your job better.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to go ahead and implant that in there.
[SPEAKER_01]: From after that, there is one world left and that last world is called a high world.
[SPEAKER_01]: And we are actually going to stop here because we're going to do an entire episode on high points.
[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason why is you'll see me at the high points.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are a complete nightmare, but incredibly important to this area.
[SPEAKER_01]: So now, property values are going on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God.
[SPEAKER_01]: So with that, let's just kind of recap some of this episode.
[SPEAKER_02]: The appearance of giant space, it's mostly empty.
[SPEAKER_02]: The places that we're in, we're in.
[SPEAKER_02]: We, yeah, we're gonna show.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have so much population.
[SPEAKER_02]: And again, we have to really stress the reason that the word this way right now is the imperium is built for war.
[SPEAKER_02]: The imperium, it doesn't even work.
[SPEAKER_02]: If we actually won the war, the imperium would fall apart.
[SPEAKER_01]: It means, you know, I think that's actually a good point.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, the Imperium is not, we talked about it's with the Inquisition.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium's like evil.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's necessit.
[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperium doesn't treat all of its citizens like garbage because it's just trying to make an extra buck here and be a little bit wealthier.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's doing it because it might all times trillions are dying every single day in conflict.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they are just,
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're, we're, we're, we're the galaxy wide war economy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so all these planets as we've been through, they all suck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I mean, there's just, it's just, and well, not pleasure, not pleasure, Walter.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's still going to be slow.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, depends who you are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, do you work there?
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you go through?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a good point.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to dive into high worlds.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to spend a bit of time with what life is like for nobility.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to get a bit more into that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because we wanted to do was give you guys a wide recap and do all the quick hits.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you're reading your codex and they talk about, oh, so and so recruits from an agree world are such and such and data this world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Be one to give you that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But when we talk about forticated lore and depth, our next cast is going to go pretty heavy into one of the most important parts of the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's even sub game called Necramunda that exists.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Also, the high worlds are settings.
[SPEAKER_01]: Heal teams kind of based on, let's say, I would say a kill team kind of falls into it a little bit, but even a lot of novels, they're always going to touch high worlds because they are just so important.
[SPEAKER_01]: But with that again, please like and subscribe to the podcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: mostly like.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come join our discord.
[SPEAKER_01]: It does.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of communication in there.
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll see Brad and I are actually both in there pretty actively as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a fun time for us.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, if you're at, I know that that we're going to be at.
[SPEAKER_01]: Come say hi.
[SPEAKER_01]: We stand out.
[SPEAKER_01]: Without that.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm John Barsati.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_01]: Have a great night.
