00:01:35
Speaker 1: Let's get to the show.

00:01:35
Speaker 2: Josh Paire.

00:01:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, I've gotten told hold on, sorry, you show flexing like that.

00:01:43
Speaker 1: You know what he's standing too, because he's just addressed all these allegations on the Josh paid so and you did a phenomenal job of it. I watched it with the clown and everything else, like that's gonna be you see the field differently, and that's what I respect about you. You understand that even in the future. Now this clown those is forever in that moment because it will be utilized throughout time, which then you will be able to even have more fun with which then it's like, bring on the allegations again. Now I can reset the allegations and talk about these new ones. I respect it well.

00:02:14
Speaker 3: Me Moa said, they can't chase you if you don't run. So if you just sit there and like I said, Brian.

00:02:20
Speaker 1: Kelly said, they can't chase you if you don't run.

00:02:23
Speaker 3: They can't chase you if you don't run.

00:02:24
Speaker 1: I'm seeing it as you're running away from trouble.

00:02:26
Speaker 3: I am embracing trouble because gonna find me.

00:02:29
Speaker 1: By starting the trouble and then running start the trouble.

00:02:32
Speaker 2: So then classic kid with fireworks pops it off.

00:02:39
Speaker 1: He's holding the Roman candle like this and then all of a sudden.

00:02:42
Speaker 3: Exactly yeah, yeah, So I may have I may have probably overshot the runway a little bit on the Brian Kelly Notre Dame LSU take a few years ago. It was twenty twenty one. It was a message board whoms the monks us hasn't gone a little sideways on a message board?

00:02:56
Speaker 2: I have, I know I have. I'm I'm a little a lot of times.

00:03:01
Speaker 1: So as as a as a paid freight, as a paid fan seeing the message board post, first of all, I'm smiling looking at it on my phone, just grinning thinking this psychopath bro he was on the just he had, he had a message board and he's out there stilling the good news of Brian Kelly coming l s U. Then they have this take that Josh had, which he explained we all know about on the show. And I'm just sitting there smiling, being like, I can't wait for him to take this head on because the people were coming after him. I'll see this Ohio State meme video or this Ohio State type of troll. I guess he'll like clip stuff from Paige Show every now and then, and he's always got a lot of traction coming after pay saying he said this, do you know what one I'm talking about?

00:03:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, he looked nine minutes of video and I hit him up in my DMS. I said, I don't even mind you doing it? Can you not do like nine minutes?

00:03:54
Speaker 1: Can you just he's the whole show.

00:03:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just show.

00:03:58
Speaker 1: It's free.

00:03:58
Speaker 3: I like that guy though, I talk to him every now. Yeah, he's okay with me.

00:04:02
Speaker 4: Now.

00:04:02
Speaker 1: It's one of those you know how the your algorithm like the stuff you're following with a college football paint like the Boys all that stuff. So you'll I'll get to see these clips come across the where you're kind of just caught up in the world. Whatever shit storm, whatever shit Storm's broomed for old Josh paint.

00:04:15
Speaker 2: Since he is the future Commissioner of college football and a bulletproof commissioner of college football.

00:04:21
Speaker 3: We hope we help. Time will tell here, Time will tell. My balls are in Notre Dame's court at this point. We got to see how it's received. As we're talking, it's just been twelve hours, so we got to see how the community receives it. So far, the feedback's been good. But I did claim that their program was a prius trying to compete the Daytona five hundred. I believe those were my exact works, were they? Brian Kelly has been trying to win the Daytona five hundred and a prius. Since then, my thinking has evolved a little bit on Notre Dame football.

00:04:48
Speaker 1: Right, I did sit.

00:04:49
Speaker 3: There and watch him play for a national title last year. I did watch Brian Kelly implode in on himself like a dying star at LSU. So, yes, my thinking has evolved a little bit.

00:04:57
Speaker 1: You self scouted, You're self scouted, You've got you've understood, like, hey, here's where we've got to get better in the off season.

00:05:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, I walked in the bathroom one morning, I looked in the mirror. I didn't like the guy looking back at me. So I made some changes here, and then I put the clown nose on to confirm those changes. But you know, it wasn't easy, but it was necessary.

00:05:15
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I'll be frank with you, guys. I put about eighteen milligrams in my lip before the show started, and I'm floating a little bit right.

00:05:23
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Doug, welcome is where you're at right now? That's my baseline, nicotine. Yeah, what have we got there?

00:05:30
Speaker 3: Come on now, you're right, Come on now.

00:05:32
Speaker 2: It's disrespectful for me even asked. I shouldn't even have done that.

00:05:36
Speaker 1: That's my bad.

00:05:37
Speaker 3: What do you wearing?

00:05:38
Speaker 1: Costume?

00:05:38
Speaker 2: Might this sometimes you take on some characteristics of a killer. The first game we have on the list here is a game I really don't want to talk about yet, because in my opinion, this is the true classic game of the week with the main event.

00:05:50
Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.

00:05:51
Speaker 2: You want you want to set the fireworks off right away in the park a little bit.

00:05:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, let's start with an easy one, do you mind? Yeah? Because can we just talk about the slate? I know Michael did, Michael did Michael Myers do a great job with the slate. Okay, okay, we I mean because I sit here, I see the USC Nebraska game.

00:06:09
Speaker 2: We don't gotta. That's why I'm gonna cut you off. I just want to that's eighteen milligrams getting ahead of the show.

00:06:15
Speaker 1: But kind of be real quick. It's gonna be real quick.

00:06:17
Speaker 2: As long as it's actually real quick, because it's gonna be quick. Cip you made man, that clip was hilarious. Last If you don't know, go look.

00:06:24
Speaker 1: So I just want you to know I was thinking about even that clip and how okay, Willy see. You gotta reel it in right a little bit for the give.

00:06:31
Speaker 2: Me ten words? Can you do it in ten words?

00:06:33
Speaker 3: I'm gonna hold my breath during this take. Let's see if I make it, I'll.

00:06:35
Speaker 2: Do it with you.

00:06:37
Speaker 1: No, we're not gonna do the game because I have I have some stuff, I have some data, so we'll save the main event for the main event. Is that ten words?

00:06:47
Speaker 3: I mean count underhits.

00:06:50
Speaker 1: Listen the slate in general, I got two of my favorite teams on this slate.

00:06:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll talk about the first one, Cincinnati Utah. Cincinnati is number seventeen team in the country. Utah's the twenty fourth team in the country, Utah being twenty four, Cincinnati being seventeen. Utah is favored by eight and a half points. This is your team, Cincinnati. I need to understand that twelve point in the game, it's fifty five and a half. Why do stores be being doubted?

00:07:17
Speaker 1: I don't know. Everybody talks like, hey, Diego Pavia should be you know, hey, he should be the Heisman favorite. He should be the guy with the heisman. Mainly Diego, mainly Diego. It's mainly Diego Pavia talk. What's he got fifteen touchdowns, five interceptions, He's got about what seventeen eighteen hundred yards? How about sores Be? How about Brendan sores Be? Since they've lost to the Huskers out of week one, that's a win. Now I'm sitting there looking back, I'm like that this is becoming even more of a quality win for the Huskers if we can take care of business and in the season ten and two and we're arguing for a playoff spot. But let's talk about Brendan Soresby for a second. Almost eighteen hundred yards, twenty touchdowns and zero interceptions since his lone interception game with zero touchdowns against the Husker defense. This right here is trick or treat if you want a king sized candy bar. It's Cincinnati plus eight and a half. I don't know why. Josh Patil probably break down why because they're going to Utah. Utah is frisky. They've beat the ship out of like outside of their what Texas by Texas taken BYU. They've basically mopped everybody. They have a very good offense. They even have a backup quarterback here, Bird Ficklin, who we don't know if if he's the starter or not, or if Damn Pierre. I think what happened last week because it seemed like he was ready to go and then he kind of just says like, Hey, I'm gonna set this one out.

00:08:35
Speaker 3: You know how those injury reports are.

00:08:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, college is way different than the NFL. You truly have no clue what's going on.

00:08:41
Speaker 2: Remember Nutmeyer, we thought he was hurt before we won, and we were right. We were right, we were right.

00:08:46
Speaker 1: We COCTI yeah, we look, but this is Cincinnati plus eight and a half. I know they're going to Utah. It's gonna be a night game. It's gonna be everything says. I'm telling you right now, this is Cincinnati Bearcats plus eight and a half. They've taken care of business all year long. They're very toughly one of the better offenses in the country. They're in the top third and basically every category. Uh, this is Brendon Sorosby. He takes care of the football. Turnovers half to happen. He's not turning the football over. Cincinnati's covering this game. Your boy, really see might get a little frisky and go money line because I've just believed in the Bearcats. Of course, I believe in any team that beats the Huskers. So I'm going Cincinnati Bearcats plus eight and a half. Brendan Sowersby and number two that detackle for Cincinnati. Big boy, Big boy, he's good.

00:09:33
Speaker 2: I mean, I've watched one full game of Cincinnati in person in person, and I'll be honest, I didn't see a whole lot. Another boy, I didn't see a whole lot Johnson.

00:09:43
Speaker 1: Johnson, who is he playing?

00:09:44
Speaker 2: I believe the horn Huskers, the Husker Huskers.

00:09:47
Speaker 1: They kept him at Bay a little bit, but he will recab it. He's a hell of a player he's gonna be I think a first round, second round pick.

00:09:53
Speaker 2: And a lot of people don't like the nose three technique body types wearing single digit numbers. Personally, I'm a massive fan of it thing.

00:10:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, especially Dante Corleone because when I was looking at when I.

00:10:05
Speaker 2: I don't know he was a mob boss.

00:10:06
Speaker 1: When I was trying to remember his name last night, the last name Carleone is just so badass, big boy to Cincinnati plus eight and a half.

00:10:17
Speaker 3: Can someone check is Cincinnati Central or Eastern time Zone?

00:10:20
Speaker 2: That's Ohios. That's Central time Zone.

00:10:22
Speaker 3: That's a Central time zone.

00:10:23
Speaker 2: Eastern Eastern, that's Ohio. It's Eastern time.

00:10:26
Speaker 1: Because once you hit a Notre Dame, it's Eastern.

00:10:29
Speaker 3: This is I've always remembered it.

00:10:30
Speaker 2: Always get a little fucked up with the thing in the.

00:10:32
Speaker 1: Movie Indiana at that part of Indiana over.

00:10:34
Speaker 2: Then you set it back and forth onward.

00:10:37
Speaker 3: We have a ten to fifteen body clock kickoff for Cincinnati here. Those kids stay up that late and play football when they were growing up. I don't know half of them are named for a life after football. Corleon. That's not a ten year NFL veteran. This guy who's going to be doing other things in a few years, right, money, wondering. Sometimes sometimes your words not mine. Sometimes when lions look really, really funny, I have the first instinct you do. It's like, are you serious? They don't even have to win, they just have to keep it under eight and a half or within eight and a half. Give me those points. And then I think to myself self, October is over, Bud, we don't. There's no grace spirit. October's over.

00:11:16
Speaker 1: It's Covember. Now what game are we talking about.

00:11:21
Speaker 3: We're talking about Nebraska, Nebraska in usc Right, we worked.

00:11:26
Speaker 2: But let's take a pause after that. Let's just go Utah and Cincinnati.

00:11:29
Speaker 3: All right, good call? Hey, ten to fifteen kickoff local time for Cincinnati.

00:11:33
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:11:34
Speaker 3: So anyway, I'm thinking about Dan Pierre coming back. I think at quarterback for Utah. Been thinking about, Yeah, he's a really good player. Probably hasn't hit his ceiling yet this year because he's had, you know, some injury stuff to deal with. Do you know the model? Have you met the model?

00:11:48
Speaker 1: I've met the model. I love the model. There's been a couple glaring the wrong team's favored.

00:11:55
Speaker 3: Blips blips, just blips, So.

00:11:58
Speaker 1: That's my reservation on the model.

00:12:00
Speaker 3: We talked about Texas favorite. No, no, no, the model actually looks at FanDuel and just nods and smiles. The model has Utah power rated is the best team in the Big Twelve, even above Texas Tech.

00:12:12
Speaker 1: Is that due to text Tech being at their third quarterback now?

00:12:16
Speaker 3: Possibly, but Texas Tech quarterbacks coming back this week? So no, we've got the starter baked into the model. The model's just looking and saying, hey, don't give up on Utah, don't give up on Utah. So I'm looking at that, I'm looking at the line. Line makes no sense to me either. So my instinct, if I did not have the model by my side, I would be taking Cincinnati. I think they're gonna pop their best game of the year. I think Utah is gonna spike play their best game of the year here, and I just worried that Sinci if they go on the road here, like Utah is really good. I think they're one of the highest man coverage rate teams in college football, and so it gives a different look than any defense that since he's played so far respectably respectively, it gives a different look. I think Utah is gonna win the game by double digits. So I'm gonna take Utah win. I'll take you called cover and after that we come out of it. Maybe even during the broadcast someone slips in. We should have seen this come in. You know, the model has Utah as the number one team in the Big twelve. I don't know what network.

00:13:12
Speaker 1: The only argument, the only argument I have on the heavy man coverage, which can play in their favor, is Nebraska is the same way. Well, I want to say, yeah, Nebraska is the same way in Week one. And also when you're a lot of man coverage, that's where those dual threat quarterbacks can. You know, the one thing Soresby did do really well against Nebraska was he was gashing us on the ground.

00:13:36
Speaker 3: How many points did they score?

00:13:38
Speaker 1: Seventeen? Twenty to seventeen?

00:13:40
Speaker 3: I can count on you.

00:13:41
Speaker 1: But again, zero touchdowns, one interception that game. And look look at the way Soresby like there's no doubting, Hey, is he gonna he's gonna come back? Is he gonna hit his stride? He's dealt with injuries like he's been hitting his stride. He's taking care of the football. He's now mastering his craft through the air with that run, with the run game, with the defenders with their back to you, chasing around, covering you, and just trick or treat.

00:14:03
Speaker 3: So I'm saying what we do know is no part of you whatsoever is rooting for Cincinnati to boost your strength to schedule. That's not in play here at all. Zero bias, bias, guy, none whatsoever.

00:14:13
Speaker 1: More of maybe Cincinnati is tough because I hate that we only beat him by three points. And now it's like, oh, yeah, they were tough. They wore that squad. They are that squad.

00:14:25
Speaker 3: Taylor go ahead, yeahging walgging.

00:14:29
Speaker 2: We've Utah has been on the slate a couple of times.

00:14:31
Speaker 3: Yep.

00:14:31
Speaker 2: I think both times I will win against Utah. And I'm fifty percent right now on that to the text tech Utah game you were saying earlier in the year, those are the two teams you have to watch for. When it comes to bag twelve, I still hang on my hat on ASU and then Utah has what's it called the Holy War yep, versus BYU on that one, and it just didn't. It just didn't work out the way we need to.

00:14:52
Speaker 1: We didn't realize the Holy war with you. It was just that.

00:14:54
Speaker 2: Obviously, I sat there and I watched Nebraska in Cincinnati, and since Cincinnati has gone on an absolute run, so I did leaning the same way, minus or plus eight and a half, possibly a money line game for Cincinnati. You got away with words, the fact that you were talking the way you were. Then all of a sudden, you hear your voice way over there, and then you stayed right and stride because you know exactly what you're talking about and you know how you're feeling. I'm not going to look at the records from last week because I am sitting at the top, so I shouldn't trust my opinion more than anybody else's. I'm gonna go with Utah to cover. I'm sitting with you on this one.

00:15:24
Speaker 3: It's a big number.

00:15:25
Speaker 2: It's a big number.

00:15:26
Speaker 3: We know what we're doing.

00:15:26
Speaker 1: Did you see it? You know what weekend it is? Halloween?

00:15:30
Speaker 3: Yes, you see.

00:15:31
Speaker 2: This is the time where you take on the spooky you take on the spooky lines.

00:15:35
Speaker 3: Halloween at altitude ten to fifteen local time kickoff. I'd be scared.

00:15:40
Speaker 1: I'd be scared. Altitude is scary.

00:15:42
Speaker 2: Well, it's crazy all over the country.

00:15:44
Speaker 3: We haven't even looked at the forecast.

00:15:46
Speaker 2: We haven't moved to the forecast, but I know in the northeast as weather, because we got to worry about that weather, weather that.

00:15:50
Speaker 3: Salt Lake City.

00:15:51
Speaker 5: But yeah, yeah, but also whether what does whether or not move Josh, it does Moveato, Yeah, I hate that I have to teach you about weather.

00:16:02
Speaker 3: This day moves away Lake City, Northeast gets a little crazy.

00:16:07
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we're talking about movement. He has away with words. But also don't forget about as Brian Kelly Elis. You take it a couple of years ago.

00:16:17
Speaker 2: As I'm concerned. You put the clown nose on. You're all right by me. You dressed up for Spooktober.

00:16:20
Speaker 3: It's all going ask It's like bankruptcy. It's life's great. Reset you writ the clown nose on. It's like social bankruptcy to get out of jail. Frequent chapter eleven. Oh you have debt, not anymore, not anymore.

00:16:30
Speaker 1: I'm bankrupt. I do want to thank the production team for I believe they saved us in one game.

00:16:35
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, tell me.

00:16:37
Speaker 1: The line moved for Mississippi State, that's true to seven and a half. It went from six and a half we took Texas. Then it moved to seven and a half right before kickoff. There was no public you know. But all I'm saying is we did have Texas to cover. They did not cover. But I will take the extra win because in my head I'm seeing one and four.

00:16:55
Speaker 3: Yeah. So for our purpis which is the plural of purpose, Texas wins. But for the rest of the public, they didn't win because of our timing. Right, yeah, right, I think that's fair.

00:17:07
Speaker 2: It just goes to show it's never we are always right. It's the rest of the world that can be wrong at times.

00:17:11
Speaker 3: Yeah they screw up, Yeah they do.

00:17:13
Speaker 1: It's almost like we we haven't done it, but we have to position ourselves as like the Ramnudle express to where hey, it's same line, you get this, This is the line we're going with values different by the time kickoff. Is all I'm saying is I still took Texas to cover and loss. So thank you guys for saving the one game.

00:17:31
Speaker 3: Raise your hand if you have your own table on FanDuel. Yeah, so they give you all the authority.

00:17:36
Speaker 1: In the world. We just got to do better, a better job being the authority.

00:17:40
Speaker 3: On our end talk louder.

00:17:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, we gotta talk louder.

00:17:43
Speaker 2: Absolutely, unless you're Michael Myers. We talked about.

00:17:46
Speaker 1: Som Solo Dell the way I feel better, but I feel good, feel better about that. Yeah.

00:17:53
Speaker 3: What about Boston though.

00:17:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, look up Boston, Look up, look up the Northeast.

00:17:58
Speaker 1: We are also brought to you by Form Energy. Form Energy delivers best in class taste with natural flavors and zero sugar. Form Energy has natural caffeine derived from green tea, and Form comes in a variety of flavors, Screaming Freedom, which is rocket pop inspired, grape Smash, Blue Blitz, Orange Fury. We do the work back to this episode.

00:18:29
Speaker 2: While we're doing that, now, while we're looking up weather in the Northeast, let's talk about the game in the South. Number five Georgia at Florida, Florida. Jeremy Clump. If you want to get in a mic too, We'll talk to you about Florida in a second, because I mean you're the biggest Florida fan of all time. George's favored minus seven and a half spooky line feel a lot better if it's more six and a half. Right, it's a little bit of a comfort zone. That's when the boy gets you. But it is Spootober, so maybe this is time to be on the side. Number in that game is fifteen and a half points. I love to turn it over to Clump. I love to turnover to Clump for a cent, big Florida fan. What do you got for us, buddy.

00:19:00
Speaker 6: I don't really have much outside of We're still just focused on the next head coach of Florida, which will be Lane Kiffin until I'm told otherwise.

00:19:07
Speaker 3: According to Josh Pate, ask me about LSU.

00:19:10
Speaker 4: We're gonna skip that.

00:19:11
Speaker 6: But who do you think is gonna be the LSU head coach?

00:19:13
Speaker 3: Well, I say Lane Kiffin, But ask me about Florida, Florida. I'm taking Liane Kiffin. Thank you, Yeah, I asked me.

00:19:19
Speaker 1: Ask me Ole, miss Ole, miss?

00:19:21
Speaker 3: I mean Kiffin may stay.

00:19:22
Speaker 6: Until Josh Pate tells me that Lane Kiffin's not the next head coach at Florida.

00:19:26
Speaker 4: I'm keeping hope.

00:19:27
Speaker 6: So Florida, Florida will win this game outright money line.

00:19:31
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, let's switch over to the biggest Georgia family now. Jared Beeman teams favored by seven and a half points. You're traveling to Florida bye week after firing Billy Napier.

00:19:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all I needed. That's all.

00:19:51
Speaker 3: That's all we I like, uh, I like Kirby for Georgia. I like Kirby to have the Georgia job. Games in Jacksonville. Last time I went to the game, I got food port. I'm done with the game. I will not go down there for minimum five years. And people alleged that I got alcohol poisoning, but I don't drink a drop of alcohol per year because that is not what this is. I got food poisoning in stadium. This was not a hotel night before situation in stadium. Place is evil as far as I'm concerned. Perfect week of the year to play this game down there, and no one even tossed to me. I just took it, so I grabbed the rope here. I think Florida's tapped out coaching searches in October do a thing mentally, and players in the NIL era are now worried about where they're going to be playing next year. I like to think this team's playing for the Gator logo, and I like to think they're going to be all in. This was a preseason top ten team JP pole, but the JP pole, like I did in twenty twenty one on an LSU message board, may have whiffed. I'm not perfect. I've never claimed to be perfect, just close to it, and this was my whift. So I'm going to take Georgia to win and cover, and I think they may be about to put the pedal down a little bit. I think Kirby Smart learned a lot last year from Ryan Day about what it takes to start peeking in November, start peaking at the right time. Granted, you can come back at me and ask was Ohio State peaking at the end of November. They were not. However, they got over that hurdle because they gave themselves some breathing room. I think Georgia is gonna get over this hurdle pretty emphatically. They win by double digits too.

00:21:17
Speaker 2: I'm so glad you brought up Ohio State and we're not. Do you think Ohio State wins the Natal Championship?

00:21:24
Speaker 3: Are you offering them versus the field?

00:21:26
Speaker 2: Do you think Ohio State goes on the run they do in the playoffs. If that doesn't game doesn't happen.

00:21:31
Speaker 3: With Michigan, I don't think so.

00:21:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, I'm also taking Georgia. I'm also taking Georgia. I think talent for talent both teams. This is the most match Georgia has been from a talent standpoint. On both sides of the field, defense and offense. There's always the interim head coach, that little spike that usually happens. I can see in this game Florida getting up early given Georgia's slow starts. But Gunnar Stockton, I think he has more ways to win. And I think when you play Georgia's offense, you have to be very disciplined. You can't. You have to set the edge, you have to swarm in the run game, and you have to be very good in the perimeter because they love to use the perimeter passes and let their receivers, you know, make moves and get downfield and have explosive plays when it comes to Florida. I can see them doing that for the first thirty minutes of the game. I don't see them staying discipline. I don't see them keeping their eye on the prize for a full sixty minutes. And that's where I see Georgia pulling away. Because I do agree. I think kurbis smart. He understands that it's not September.

00:22:29
Speaker 1: You All you got to do is just win in September.

00:22:30
Speaker 2: All you I do is just win by in October November. You gotta start showing this is who we're ramping up to be when it comes to the playoffs, and uh yeah, it's the dogs, but the dogs.

00:22:39
Speaker 1: Georgia usually does that.

00:22:41
Speaker 2: Georgia usually does that, And George has done an amazing job this year about just kind of staying in the shadows, similar to Michael Myers, like just stays in the shadows. You don't really know it's there. You might peek over for a second, you're like, what was that, and then all of a sudden he's gone. But sure enough, towards the end of the season or the end of the movie, he pops. He pops back up and starts slamming people. And I think they start that this week on November first.

00:23:02
Speaker 3: Well, we don't have to tell you that Georgia brought you in to talk to Ole Miss via a television screen or before the Old Miss game, like you were probably equal to, if not more so, responsible than Kirby Smart himself. A lot of people are saying.

00:23:17
Speaker 1: Just a little motivation, the message boards are saying, just to remind them that they are the Georgia Bulldogs. I don't think Florida will be up on them at any point in this game, just because if you're gonna get up on Georgia and you're gonna start, let's just say start fast. The locker room, everybody's pretty laser focused on what's coming to town and everything else to where. Yeah, I agree with every Like everybody's thinking about who the next head coach is gonna be. Players are thinking about where they might go. Players might be hoping, like I wonder who they are going to bring in to see if we want to stay here with these guys or with this staff. I think they've been two up and down this year. There's gonna be some sickos out there. I know Chef's to sicko about. Like it's the swamp. Anything can happen in the swamp seven and a half points. Jackson Oh yeah, Jacksonville my fault, brain dead Nick team. We'll just say that Nat at Milgrid sc week. This is Georgia Georgia minus seven and a half. I like them in this spot just with everything going on and if you're getting fired they just don't know what's gonna happen there. The team's not going to be fired up. They're not going to be ahead at any point in this game. Georgia minus seven and a half and they start, they're going to have the SEC. Are we going to have? Here's what I want to ask you, mister Pate. What kind of chaos are we looking at in the SEC? Even the Big ten? There could be five, six two lost teams in both conferences by the end of the year.

00:24:36
Speaker 3: Let me counter that with a question about the ACC, because the answer to this is going to depend on the ACC. The ACC inferior conference top to bottom.

00:24:44
Speaker 4: Right.

00:24:44
Speaker 3: Yes, I think most people would they would agree with that. But yet we're looking at a situation where, for some reason, none of them actually play each other. I don't know how it's possible. It seems like no one in the ACC actually plays an ACC team, So Virginia they're rolling right now. They got one loss. It's an out of conference game to a conference opponent. Don't even ask me to explain it. That's just how it happened. So if they go the rest of the way, they're a one loss team. Let's just say they went out and they win the conference title, they're going to be in the playoff. By default, they are not Miami. Just keep Miami in mind. What if Georgia Tech runs the table the rest of the way and they go to Charlotte and they lose in the conference title game, that's their first loss of the season. That means they will have beaten Georgia and root to that. By the way, both of those teams are going to be in the playoff. I still haven't mentioned Miami. If Miami just does nothing more than win out the rest of the year, they're eleven and one. They don't play in the conference title game. Eleven in one Miami with wins over Notre Dame us F Florida, they're going to be in the playoff. I just listed three ACC teams, So what are we doing. That's a quarter of the playoff field before we even talk about the SEC and the Big Ten. Not to mention Notre Dame if they win out, If Notre Dame wins out and we've got limited playoff spots and it comes down to eleven and one Miami or Notre Dame, and Miami's got a head to head win over Notre Dame. Does Notre Dame get bumped out of the playoff in favor of Miami because we got to have room on the shelf for these SEC and Big ten teams. Not to mention a G five automatic qualifier. The ACC could be the chaos maker, not the SEC or the Big Ten.

00:26:22
Speaker 1: God, I love this game.

00:26:23
Speaker 2: I love that this show. Whenever you do other shows, there's pre production meetings take place and say hey, this is what we're going to talk about. Hey, I'm gonna ask you this question. Make sure you have an answer. There's none of that. You come into the shop, you flex a couple of times, we talk, we joke, we talk about rumors we've heard, and then we go and shoot the show. And for him to ask you a question like that and be fully prepared just shows why it should be the Commission of College Football. He's got his finger on the pulse, got a singer on the pulse.

00:26:48
Speaker 3: Very scary.

00:26:49
Speaker 1: They didn't even think about the ACC. Didn't even think about it. I'm just thinking about the chaos at our conference and then the SEC.

00:26:56
Speaker 3: I'm trying to think if there's a fourth team over there. There may be a fourth team I don't know in the ACC. Yeah, that's at least three of them. I was listening to Budd Elliott the other day throughout like a fourth scenario which the world would end before that happen. Lest be real. But yeah, he had like a fourth team. I can't remember the standings off the top of my head.

00:27:13
Speaker 1: Man, that would be crazy.

00:27:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, you gotta like legitimately, it sounds fun at Halloween, but when we turn the corner into November, it starts to get real. Like if you're sitting there and you're in Nebraska, or if you're sitting there in like you're gonna be Georgia, or like one of these at large teams and all of a sudden, wait, you're telling me Virginia, just by way of not playing anyone all year, not even an undefeated Virginia, they lost to NC State, and somehow they're scheduling conference opponents in non conference games. That's what I was trying to allude to. That is a non conference game. So Virginia is still undefeated in conference play even though they lost to a conference opponent somehow, if those teams start vulturing playoff spots from these like SEC teams that just stabbed each other and crawled over each other the whole year, and there's blood all over the place and their jeans are ripped, and they finally got there at ten and two, and a committee member says, yeah, Virginia, sorry, do you imagine, Oh, it's gonna be beautiful.

00:28:11
Speaker 2: Chaos, absolute chaos. Mikelovultra Superior's worth playing for? Superior light Beer, all the things. I'm four and six or you're yeah, our records four and six from Referencess. Are you ready?

00:28:24
Speaker 4: Yeah?

00:28:25
Speaker 1: I'm ready, Superior light Beer, Superior bragging rights.

00:28:32
Speaker 2: What brought it down to one?

00:28:41
Speaker 1: Mikelo Ultra Superiors.

00:28:42
Speaker 3: We're playing for.

00:28:43
Speaker 2: Let's talk about this. Let's talk about nubrayteen Oklahoma I number fourteen. Tennessee, Tennessee's going all black last week of October Spooktober, going full all black. Tennessee's favored minus three and a half total points. That game is fifty six and a half points all start. This is Tennessee.

00:29:02
Speaker 1: Oh to me, this is Tennessee.

00:29:05
Speaker 2: Love John Matteer, Hey, what he did to my Wolverines. But every power for team they've played. The most points they've scored is twenty six points.

00:29:12
Speaker 3: But wait, but wait, there's more. But can I just offer you one thing?

00:29:16
Speaker 1: Go ahead?

00:29:17
Speaker 3: Oh you just lost last week? Right, Yeah, they lost to Ole Miss. This is desperation time for them. Yeah, backs against the wall. They gotta have this one. And that doesn't sway you. Oh you in a bounce back spot. That doesn't sway you at all.

00:29:30
Speaker 2: If the quarterback was healthy, it would absolutely sway me. If their run game was consistent, that would absolutely sway me. But I think Josh Heipel is one of the best offensive play cars in all of college football. They're going to get points. They run the ball better than Oklahoma does. They are better at explosives. Joey Aglar has been ripping the ball all over the field. The defense, obviously the secondary, is not great. But that brings me back to John Mattire and his hand. This is not an injury that gets better with time. While you're still playing. This is an injury that you have to rest, do rehab, hit the little spiderweb thing and get that strength back in your him Like he's still playing well, but he's not playing like we saw him when he was a Heisman front righter earlier in the year. And that's why I like Tennessee. I like it at night. I think Rocky Tops are very difficult place to play. I watched it versus Alabama last year. Incredible game. I think this is the nail on the coffin that Tennessee puts in for Oklahoma.

00:30:23
Speaker 3: Do you do you want to go? You want me to go?

00:30:25
Speaker 1: I can go?

00:30:26
Speaker 4: I like I like.

00:30:27
Speaker 1: I love Tennessee here just because it's dark mode. This is where this place is gonna be rock and Nland's gonna be rocking Tennessee. Oklahoma just doesn't have enough offense to keep up with Tennessee. Can't Will they score against Tennessee. I think they'll score against Tennessee because Tennessee. It's like, if you know, if it flies, floats or plays defense on Tennessee, you least that you don't buy it. It'd be nice to have, but it's not in the budget for them. So they are. They're they're a very poor defense, but they're the number one offense in the country. They're the best offense in the country too when it comes to first half points. If you just look at Oklahoma like their last three games, like they're only averaging nineteen point three points per game in totality, I just don't think they have enough offense. I think with the environment, the dark moade and everything else, I like Tennessee here, I don't see how Oklahoma gets it done unless it's just purely survival instinct and they find a way. Find a way. But you're not gonna slow down this Tennessee offense. And it's do you think Oklahoma can win in a shootout? We saw it last week with Old Miss, Like Old Miss is a very high powered offense. Tennessee hasn't even more. Tennessee has even more power on offense. And Aguilar too, he's he's still for how many yards jack twenty four hundred a lot like three or four games, or fifty yards six twenty three forty four? What eighteen touchdowns? Making nineteen I like, to me, it's just I don't think Oklahoma can win in a shootout. I don't think they have the offense for it. So for those reasons, I love Tennessee here. And it's blackout, it's just it's mode. This place is going to be electric. It already is, but it's even going to pick up another tempo.

00:32:04
Speaker 2: Before Pig goes because he's going to have the best analysis on this is how does Oklahoma win this game? And it's got to be time of possession. It's got to be job Materier with his legs and that defense playing out of their mind better. They're already a great defense, but playing even better than they usually do against an offense that's going to score no matter what.

00:32:22
Speaker 3: All right, we'll let's work from the back to the front. How does Oklahoma win the game? Per vall quest. This is not my stat this is our friends at revol quest. Tennessee's defense averages twelve missed tackles per game.

00:32:34
Speaker 2: That's good.

00:32:35
Speaker 3: You got Burks and Setagna there. Bad Oklahoma? That bad? Bad? Yeah, not great. They can turn seven into seventy, as me Mal would say, so they can take it to the house. That's part one, Part two. Tennessee is a terrible red zone defense. Oklahoma excellent win to get down there, so break tackles, capitalize in the red zone. But Tennessee is going to score a right sort of. The veil got pierced last week of the Oklahoma Secondary and ole Miss Chambliss had three fifteen passing and then Chambliss can extend with his legs better than Joey. Joey's not a statue, but Chamblis can go east west a little bit better. So I think that bought Ole Miss a lot of business offensively, but they're going to get theirs because Tennessee's got the number three passing offense in the country, so they're going to get theirs. Veil is broken. This is not some impenetrable fortress of a defense like they looked like they were on paper last week. So if it comes down to trading points, and that's what I think it'll come down to, can Oklahoma do that pre thumb injury With John Matier, I would have said yes. Post thumb injury, he's gone from sixty three to fifty seven percent completion percentage. He's gone from three zho three yards per game to one ninety one, so there's been a precipitous drop off there. I don't trust their ability to trade points. However, go back to the question I asked you, this is a competitive character spot. You just lost your competitive manhood's on the line. You got to go on the road to get the job done in conference. But that was what you were always gonna have to do if you were going to make it to Atlanta and play for the SEC championship. This is the paper popper Oklahoma under Brent Venable's awful loss. They're six and eight.

00:34:11
Speaker 1: Mmm.

00:34:13
Speaker 3: I think this is Tennessee spot. It's a class week.

00:34:15
Speaker 1: It took me on a roller coaster there.

00:34:17
Speaker 2: That was nice.

00:34:17
Speaker 3: Yeah. Also, the locals there in Knoxville will tell you maybe the loudest the place has ever been is the Bama game when they beat them after the fifteen year drought. But if it's not that game, it's when Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma came into Knoxville, what like a decade ago, twenty fifteen fourth quarters. No one even knew Oklahoma fans didn't even know who Baker Mayfield was yet. And then he goes to kneel and they come back from the dead out of conference game, They come out back from the dead and they win, and kneeling up until that point just rocking. And that's when everyone knew, Wow, this dude, this team's for real, because no one was going to go in there. People in the SEC looked at that and said they're dead and Oklahoma said, no, we're not. Baker Mayfield said, no, we're not. This is the first time, oh you's been there since then? Right yeah. Now that it's a conference game, Hypel played at Oklahoma. It's his old team, and I think there's a certain like bloodthirst in Josh Hipel's soul for this game. And this was a game they won last year, but they never really drove the stake through the heart. It was kind of a weird game. Jackson Artle gets benched. This is the one where he really wants to hit the tombstone pin him for the one, two three. Tennessee by double digits. Maybe I don't know, but I'm taking Tennessee to win a game.

00:35:35
Speaker 1: Wows Jack back there if I know.

00:35:42
Speaker 2: The trend this year is firing coaches. Oh no, is Oklahoma in that position. They lose this game because the noise before the season was Brent Benna Bules kind of on his last leg a little bit not quite billion napier, but still, Hey, if he doesn't get the job done, which I'm assuming the job is competing for an SEC champion and a national championship, or at least the very least making the playoff, he's prepared to say something, you just turned my regular seat and I got the exit road in southwest. So what he got?

00:36:12
Speaker 3: It sounds like you've been on the message boards.

00:36:14
Speaker 2: Listen. I'm like he might of the ground a little bit.

00:36:16
Speaker 3: Sounds like you've been vibing with the diehards, the p ones, because they would tell you, yes, they would tell you already, and we got we got the car built here. We just need the right guy in the driver's seat. Maybe Bv's not the right guy in the driver's seat. Now I look at that and say, that's a little psychotic. We got to pump the brakes in the car just a little bit. We've already fired James Franklin, who was fresh off playing for a conference title and going to the playoff last year. I don't think it's time. I don't think if he loses here it's time. I think some position coach changes, like you, you're only as good as your staff is, and I think they may have some how should I say this diplomatically deficiencies on their offensive coaching staff, not ben our Buckle should be a future friend of the program. Not been our Buckle, but maybe a little bit downstream of him, maybe some changes. That's okay. I don't think it's time to pull the plug on Brenton Bennables. But that's me talking. You asked me, I gave you my answer. If I give you my log in, well you don't need one. You got your own obviously, and you start surfing the OU message boards. Maybe a different tune.

00:37:17
Speaker 2: Okay, let's play. Let's play the crystal ball game. It doesn't work out. They lose this game. They drop a couple others. Before the season's over. They say, Brent Vinnables, your time is up. Is the next head coach of Oklahoma also coaching in this game this week? No Hypel's in Tennessee today.

00:37:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.

00:37:36
Speaker 1: His name's starting to come up. It is with LSU right, it is.

00:37:40
Speaker 2: But also brought you out the point I was trying to. I was thinking about getting to which is he he played there? He played at Oklahoma. H he loves Oklahoma. He was a Sooner?

00:37:49
Speaker 1: Does he though I don't know.

00:37:51
Speaker 3: Does he love Oklahoma's I think if Oklahoma was on fire right now, Josh Hippel would look at it and say, I got nothing, Guys, I can't help you. I'm dehydrated duggle water next to him. I got nothing. Sorry, I'd love to, but I got nothing. I can't help you.

00:38:07
Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, so Hype stay unless he goes to LSU. He's staying unless he doesn't.

00:38:12
Speaker 3: He's staying unless he doesn't, is a great way to put it. Yeah, yeah, I like that great confident that will nail that prediction. Let me go check the boards. I'll check the boards and I'll get back to you.

00:38:22
Speaker 1: Let me set up the you're confident that you'll nail the next head coach at Oklahoma. No, we didn't know.

00:38:30
Speaker 2: He's confident that we just nailed the take about what will happen in Oklahoma got you and in Tennessee technically.

00:38:36
Speaker 3: And to be honest with you, I I have some thoughts about who the next coach in Oklahoma would be, but it's irresponsible to talk about that as long as brit Inventables is there.

00:38:45
Speaker 2: Do we have a fun conversation after the show.

00:38:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't see why not.

00:38:48
Speaker 2: All right, it's a couple of Galas chatting Gallas chatting. All right, two classic game of the week. I know Will Comp's think about nebrask I'm gonna go to two classic game of the week real quick.

00:38:57
Speaker 1: Every hang, are you Nixon the Nebraska game?

00:39:01
Speaker 2: No, I'm mixing it.

00:39:02
Speaker 1: I want to give it. It's time. Okay, okay, because we saw the clip, it's not a surprise thing. True even Wills taking Nebraska outright.

00:39:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's not how or why we all know you're taking Nebraska. I want to feel it. I want to sit in it. I want to get my popcorn. I want to sit back knowing where I'm going.

00:39:20
Speaker 1: No matter what, I just love it.

00:39:22
Speaker 4: Give it it's time.

00:39:22
Speaker 3: I just love That sentence came through the studio at like fifty eight miles an hour and a forty five, and the blue lights came on before you even put a period on the.

00:39:30
Speaker 2: End of it.

00:39:31
Speaker 3: It's like, no, no, no, no, this isn't happening. Get back over here.

00:39:35
Speaker 2: We're brought to you by True Classic. You can find True Classic at Amazon and costco Zam's Love Target nation wide. If I'm online True Classic dot com. Ford slash busting, look good, feel good, play good. I got the pants on right now, we're a little pirate outfit. This is not that, but you get the little Pima T shirts. Dude, I'm telling you that the curve on the side, grab his chest, grab his shoulders, just kind of make you feel better. Holiday season is upon us. Were gonna have a lot of candy this weekend. Then you're gonna get hey, listen, thanks Givings right there. I might as well just kind of keep spoiling myself Thanksgiving there, and then you get to Christmas time. Now you put in two and a half months of wolf, right, you want to feel buff instead of woof a. You're gonna put the true classic T shirt on. Tame back to the episode Every Saturday's got games, but only one. If it's just right, this is the true classic game of the week. We got number nine Vanderbot. They travel to Austin, Texas against number twenty Texas Clarkley for Steve Sarkesian. Texas has favored in this game minus two and a half. Who would have thumped it total points? They gave us forty five and a half. Josh, what are you thinking?

00:40:32
Speaker 3: I was talking to our friends at fan duel yesterday. Yeah, I asked them, take me back to the summer, put these teams on the neutral field. What would your line have been? And they said Texas minus twenty one and a half. I said, take me to today. Put them on a neutral field again, what is the line? They said, Vandy minus one. So we've had a three touchdown perceptional swing on this game from it's not even It'll be November by the time and this game is played. But it's just been two months of the season. It normally takes years to perceptionally move a matchup three touchdowns. So that's where we are here. We don't think Art is going to go. He's in concussion protocol. He got pulled over yesterday. If you've scarned Twitter sad can't confirm that photos real, but I assume it is. He's not going to play. So it's Matthew Caldwell, all right. No one knows anything about him. Texas fans don't know anything about him. He was at Troy last year. He's not a freshman, he's a senior. You know my backup quarterback theory. I've told you guys, I've floated it to you many times we've workshopped at off camera. Let's just talk about it on camera. In a college football locker room, especially one that has high expectations and a lot of high profile athletes in it, I've always believed it does something to you to galvanize you when your guy goes down, because you know, collectively, we got to pick up some of the slack. And oftentimes in college you find a team overperforms with the backup end because everyone has taken it upon themselves to shoulder a little more of the load. That's Part one for Texas. Part two. This is a defensive oriented team, right They had thirty eight hung on him in Starkville, Mississippi last week. They got dunked on, Brandon Walker got dunked on. Everyone got dunked on. But they got out of there with a win. They did, Brandon Walker didn't. They got out of there with a win. So they come home and they've got a pride in performance spot. Defensively, Diego Pavi and Vanderbilt come in. Missouri beat them everywhere in the box score last week, but they won on the scoreboard. They dominated in the red zone. Missouri crossed the seven. They're across the fifty seven times and scored ten points, and so Vanderbilt goes into Austin lines under a field goal. It's a huge man maker spot, like competitive character tests for Texas. If Texas loses, they're out of everything. If Vandy loses, they're still not out of the playoff picture. So it's one of those classic Vanderbilt wants it, Texas needs its spots. People are questioning whether Stark should call plays. He's even gonna still be the head coach at Texas. Reportedly, I think Texas is gonna win this game and cover. I think it's gonna be an ugly dog fight game. I think Texas is gonna find a way games played in the low twenties, probably like twenty three to sixteen type game, Texas finds a way to win and cover.

00:43:22
Speaker 1: That was well said, Well said, absolutely, I'm thinking that's beautiful. I wanted Texas in this game. Now now I feel like I need to have Texas in this game because I'm just all in on the backup quarterback there. Because the focus and urgency that every player, like you said, takes upon themselves to pick it up a notch and not to mention the backup quarterback, knowing that this is a moment for him, for all the preparation he does as the backup. Even coming in that game with throwing that touchdowns was a big moment. Beautiful ball ot. Arch goes down, which arts, by the way, had a hell of a game. He's throw it around the yard, what over three hundred yards a couple of touchdowns. Texas did a great job getting back in that game, down by what seventeen?

00:43:58
Speaker 3: Yes, and think about this, just pause right there. I'm sorry one time out you're thinking, if you're a Texas fan, we're gonna get Arch back. It's concussion protocol. But he'll work through it. He'll be back if we can just survive this game. He's coming off his best game of the year. Yes, maybe we get hot in November. So we just got to find a way against Vanderbilt and if we come out of it. It's one of those don't let Texas get hot type things. And you got Wisner and you got the other tailback whose name escapes me at the moment, which is an excusable because it's Texas Baxter. Both of them probably combined as healthy as they've been all year. Texas has not been a great rushing team. But if they need to eke out one point fifteen on the ground here to take some pressure off off of Matthew Caldwell, maybe they do go ahead.

00:44:41
Speaker 1: I agree, it's the team should be feeling like it's all on them and it's arm in arm every week because they haven't put a great product on the field. But I don't know how to explain it. It just naturally happens. When you have a moment like this where arch is down, you got to back up in And I just like Texas here. I like Texas here. I watched the Missouri game. I watched the recap of the Missouri game, the missing field goal. I was disappointed that Missoo could not get that win out obviously because I picked Missoo. Vanderbilt's having Vanderbilt is having a hell of a year. I just I like Texas here. I like Texas and I like the thought that when you do watch that offense kind of come alive in that second half of the Mississippi State game, that optimism of like, if we can get through this game, we could be we could be hot going in the back end of the schedule.

00:45:29
Speaker 2: I agree with everything. Both of you said, this is a game that Texas should absolutely win. The problem that I have is you play Kentucky, go to overtime against Kentucky, you squeak out a win there, and then you're down seventeen in Mississippi State.

00:45:40
Speaker 1: So you've had two games that.

00:45:41
Speaker 2: You've had to rev horror horror hard RPMs emotionally and physically, and now you have to get up again for a team that no one expected. You thought it'd be a twenty one and a half point, but now you're a neutral field, you're actually dogs by one and a half points. I don't think Vanderbilt played great. I don't have the luxury of seeing there, having like the PFF or whatever. We can see the back view, seeing where guys messed up until this game. Kate McConnell and the left tackle whose name is escaping right now. They came to the building. He texted me last week.

00:46:09
Speaker 1: Kaye was a position coach.

00:46:10
Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, he texted me like, hey, I would love to watch film with you, and I was like, yeah, dude, we can actually do that. Monday, three o'clock, come by. He comes by, brings the left tackle. We go through all fifty five of those plays. Their offense from a blocking standpoint, it's pretty It's not basic, but it is. It's not the most complex offensive line. Their offense, however, is extremely complex. It says every single run play has multiple ways to throw the ball as well, whether it's a bubble going out or a quick slam, those types of things. And every single play they're talking about how disappointed they are in themselves, how disappointed the coaching staff is, and how they perform. No one's patting themselves on the back. After college game Day came in, after Diego Pavian, This whole Heisman talk is happening inside that building. I've been told by the players that they're not happy with their performance. They know what's in front of them, and their coaching staff is not happy happy with them. Every single play we went over, Caid didn't make an excuse. We had a bad play. The left tackle didn't excuse. They like were like, I was asked on this play, here's why, And they would explain it to me why they did bad and how they can do better. They would talk about this receiver messed up here, what he should be. So they have a very a very mature understanding of their offense that a lot of college wall players do not have that I didn't have when I was in their position, that they are seeing how hungry they are watching them just want to come and watch film with me when I don't know if I'm gonna be able to help them or not. I see what this team they know they have in front of them. They know what the expectation is now is to play an SEC championship and win a national championship. I think they are going to be up for this game. They're going to win this game.

00:47:42
Speaker 1: I'm thinking, Vander The danger here is Taylor has emotional ties. Now. I do like the couple emotional wins for Texas. Like my argument would be, well they had they they've struggled offensively, and when you watch that second half, like the optimism and energy of like, guys, this is what we can right and then the letdown spot for that defense takes a lot of pride in being one of the best defenses in the country, and that was a very disappointing performance. If you're sitting in the defensive room and everything else to get an ot wing, like guys, we escape that one. Now you've got a very hungry Vanderbilt team coming to Austin. Like, I just see it as this is just going to be a very hungry Texas team in all phases because of my spot that they're in.

00:48:23
Speaker 2: I agree that that was the period. Okay, that was a period, all right, I agree with all of that. I think if you're Sarkisian, you sit in the team meeting room and you say, boys, like, this is the offense that we expected to be at the ginn of the year years are finally hitting our stride.

00:48:35
Speaker 1: And everyone has a.

00:48:36
Speaker 2: Lot of optimists about that because you know your defense prizes them on being a top five defense in all of college football. But if you insert the possibility of the crowbar theory for Josh Pate, oh boy, and you're now going into half and you only have putting three points on the board and it's a seven to three type of game. That optimism and excitement that you had on Monday and Tuesday, are you still keeping that or are now is doubt creeping in from a player standpoint, being like, oh, we were able to do X, Y and Z because the stars kind of aligned in that situation, and you now shut down because you're like, oh, this is who we really are on offense.

00:49:09
Speaker 1: And then the crow bar opens it up in the second half, and the.

00:49:12
Speaker 2: Crow bar is already in the spokes and you're already on your face, and your face all skid up.

00:49:16
Speaker 1: Vanderbilt.

00:49:18
Speaker 2: No one believes in Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt has one loss. Everyone's still like it's a cute story.

00:49:23
Speaker 1: I think people believe in Vanderbilt.

00:49:25
Speaker 2: Kate McConnell, those guys, there's nothing about their like I need how nine more wins or however many it is they go play in a national championship. They are so focused and they know they're capable of doing it. They have a great defense, they have a super hard they have a super complex offense to defend against, and they have a player at the helmet, quarterback that can make all of the things happen to where you're never truly out of the game. And I like Vanderbilt.

00:49:51
Speaker 1: I'm an emotional boy. Love those boys.

00:49:53
Speaker 2: I'm emotionally tied. I went from hating on them because my bank account was hurt, and if I love them too. Now I've accepted that my bank acount is going to get hurt, and I want my bank accoun to get hurt because I want them to be successful. Reminded the level of bias. They just have to make the playoffs, know, god, No, they have to win the SEC and win the national championship.

00:50:09
Speaker 1: They have to win the whole thing, the whole thing. They don't really have to they have to win the national title.

00:50:13
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, boys, Yeah, I.

00:50:18
Speaker 1: Was thinking at one point it was just se JP wrong, wrong, wrong, you got to win it all.

00:50:25
Speaker 4: I thought it was just win the national Championship. I don't, I don't, I don't want.

00:50:28
Speaker 3: To gathering the terms were never really clearly stated.

00:50:31
Speaker 1: But going back, they win the.

00:50:36
Speaker 2: National championship but don't win the SEC. There's my heye deal and then just smoke, I'm out of here. Sorry, but hey, graduations, I love it, dude.

00:50:47
Speaker 4: Is it is it in the Inside the Bus blog?

00:50:49
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so we can go back.

00:50:50
Speaker 1: And see it, so we'll have verbal comp verbal blog. Go watch the Inside the.

00:50:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll defer to the blog.

00:50:58
Speaker 3: It is what it is.

00:50:59
Speaker 2: And if it says national championship, see great, that's that's the answer.

00:51:02
Speaker 1: Just for clarity match, the terms are in the Inside the Bus blog.

00:51:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, if you go to the Inside the Bus YouTube page that we have a vlog at Taylor Lawn Party. Oh these the ads, I feel like it may be in there, but anyways to go run out else.

00:51:18
Speaker 2: I still don't think they're going to Natty. I think it's such an uphill battle. I love now and I think they beat Texas.

00:51:25
Speaker 7: But do you think the alt line, Like, would you lay an alt line on them? They're dogs right now talking. Yeah, it's just that no one's gonna hear us. I'm just gonna go money line Vandy for the show. I'm not going to tell the audience.

00:51:39
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna tell the audience that I'm going money line for the show and the sake of the record, I'm gonna take them with the points.

00:51:45
Speaker 3: But everybody's talking about Sark leaving. What if Clark Lee leaves.

00:51:49
Speaker 2: I think Clark Lee is going to leave.

00:51:50
Speaker 3: He's gone.

00:51:51
Speaker 1: He gons. You gotta sell high.

00:51:55
Speaker 2: And if you're Clark Lee, it's like, yeah, you've done it. Amazing that you played at Vanderbilt.

00:51:59
Speaker 1: That's awesome.

00:51:59
Speaker 2: You got them.

00:52:00
Speaker 1: They're doing stuff they did. Yeah, last time I did it was World War.

00:52:03
Speaker 3: Two, literally when they built the university, right, and.

00:52:06
Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, that's great. But the sustainability. I don't think is there. And the job openings that are there, Like, if Lane Kiffin does or does not take one of those jobs, whatever job is open, why not go sniper Lee.

00:52:17
Speaker 3: A lot of pretty girls out there, why not take Lee over Kiffin?

00:52:23
Speaker 5: Yeah?

00:52:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, not you gotta you can have your Paul's button here by. Yeah, he's been passed the whole time.

00:52:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, let you say it like that.

00:52:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, we're back on the show.

00:52:36
Speaker 1: Let's get to just a game. We interrupt this episode to bring you our profit boost token. The Boys have a profit boost token available every college football Saturday. That's a profit boost on any college football Saturday. Bet just open up the fandom sportsbook gap this Saturday and look out for the boosting with the Boys profit boost token.

00:52:56
Speaker 2: The first game on the slate. Uh, it's gonna be number twenty three USC A Top twenty.

00:53:01
Speaker 1: You call this just football? Team?

00:53:02
Speaker 3: Did you call this just a game?

00:53:04
Speaker 2: A game?

00:53:05
Speaker 3: Game? Just think there's no title on the line, there's no label on the game. It's just a good old fashioned game.

00:53:11
Speaker 2: Two two loss teams playing for hoping to keep their college football payoff hops alive, which I would It is kind of seemed like just a game. Because we just talked about the ACC, the Big Ten, and the SEC. It's like there's so many teams that are in the same position. So I'm not gonna put a whole lot of pressure on this game.

00:53:26
Speaker 4: Taylor, do you do? You and Josh want to go first to let Will half his time?

00:53:31
Speaker 1: This isn't enough. This isn't a spot where I need my time. Like we know what's on the line, number twenty three.

00:53:36
Speaker 2: This isn't just a game. Nebraska is a dog at six and a half, which means the USC is favored six and a half total points.

00:53:45
Speaker 1: That game is fifty.

00:53:46
Speaker 2: Nine and a half points, squeaked out a winning against Northwestern USC bad loss against Notre Dame runn by Lane Kiffin six and oh after a bye? Is that a paper proper? Is it on your statue?

00:54:04
Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin?

00:54:05
Speaker 2: Fault Lincoln?

00:54:08
Speaker 1: Just a game?

00:54:09
Speaker 3: Worries, just a game.

00:54:10
Speaker 2: I didn't know that that somebody you know, you know, I found that out. Somebody tweeted at us. No, like this is a paper proper stat don't show Will and you're tagging it.

00:54:21
Speaker 3: You didn't really check it, you didn't do background on it.

00:54:24
Speaker 2: So right there and I was like, I'm taking that to the show.

00:54:28
Speaker 1: So we don't know if that's fat.

00:54:29
Speaker 3: Don't have no idea. We have phones.

00:54:32
Speaker 2: We have phones though.

00:54:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, look that up. Look that up.

00:54:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, the two buys his whole life.

00:54:46
Speaker 2: Wow, Ryan Nolan said that. Ryan Nolan, Okay, so that's let's assume he's six and oh after a bye.

00:54:53
Speaker 1: Let's assume.

00:54:55
Speaker 2: But they've extremely high powered offense. And let's just assume that Jordan my a Lot has only thrown four interceptions this year.

00:55:01
Speaker 1: Well, those are facts.

00:55:02
Speaker 3: You just cannot be serious with the name. Can you got to nail the first one.

00:55:09
Speaker 1: The last one?

00:55:12
Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.

00:55:15
Speaker 3: Name.

00:55:15
Speaker 1: The tackle of the EGS is coming.

00:55:17
Speaker 2: From are we are we serious.

00:55:24
Speaker 1: People? Football players?

00:55:27
Speaker 4: Tackle?

00:55:28
Speaker 1: Do you know that?

00:55:29
Speaker 3: I mean it's jade.

00:55:30
Speaker 2: It is what it is for interceptions.

00:55:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, red squiggly is under front, front and back of that like first and last name for red squiggly.

00:55:37
Speaker 2: We've texted you see my my arrest.

00:55:40
Speaker 1: I'm using chat.

00:55:41
Speaker 3: What is my father's record off of buy That's what we really need to know. He actually may be one and one off of by. He's just a player.

00:55:46
Speaker 2: He might be yeah, just a player.

00:55:50
Speaker 1: This game is everything.

00:55:54
Speaker 2: This is what I wanted to. Let me get just let me we enjoy this.

00:56:00
Speaker 1: We're officially in the playoffs right now. It's gonna be off for me to start that. We are officially in the playoffs right now. Both teams two loss teams. If you're if any Big ten team, if any SEC team, you're gonna have a chance to be in the conversation. Let's say that ACC chaos happens. If you're gonna be in the conversation at the end of the year for the Collegeable Playoff, you're gonna have a two. You're gonna have two losses in that column. So we're in the playoffs right now. And what an opportunity in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday night primetime blackout. This is a blackout game, all black unis. The crowd is going to be pumping. And here here are some facts I do have for you. Let's just look at because again, if you look at USC minus six and a half people, you could potentially salivate over this line if you watch the Huskers all year long, if you watch USC the wins that they do have when Michigan went out to USC. But let's look at USC's history since they've came to the Big Ten and traveling to the Midwest or farther out east. Some questions for you, Josh. September twenty first, twenty twenty four, USC traveled out to Michigan, lost twenty seven to twenty four. October fifth, twenty twenty four, they traveled out to Minnesota twenty four to seventeen Minnesota. October nineteenth, twenty twenty four, they traveled out to Maryland Taylor. Do you know what happened? Mike Myers? You know what happened? Maryland won twenty nine twenty eight. September thirteenth, twenty twenty five, they traveled out to Purdue. You want to know what happened?

00:57:38
Speaker 3: Thirty three seventeen thirty three seventeen.

00:57:40
Speaker 1: USC won that game, but they only beat Purdue by What is that? What is that matter? With their sixteen points? Didn't cover Scotty my eleven month old could be purdued by sixteen points. September twenty seventh, twenty twenty five, They go out to Illinois. What happened? They lost to Illinois thirty four thirty two. October eighteenth, twenty twenty five, they go out to Notre Dame what happened they lost a note name thirty four to twenty thirty four to twenty four. What do EMUs ostriches and USC trojans have in common?

00:58:06
Speaker 3: Well, back in Heirri's County, we harvested them for meat.

00:58:09
Speaker 1: There you go. They can't fly and they can't thrive in cold weather. They're gonna come out to Lincoln, Nebraska. We're gonna clip their wings in a very hostile environment environment Look at me, Huskernation. You've heard coach will talk about it. We need everybody get sauced up, get as absolutely routing and as toxic as possible, because we need everybody inside of Memorial Stadium on Saturday night at seven thirty Eastern kickoff time, Prime time. Fellas, this is a moment for Nebraska football. Put the inconsistencies, put the shit aside. We've struggled in one score games. We've now won. I forget what our record is in one score game, this games, the games we've won this year in one score games. Forget what I just said right there. You win any way you fucking can. USC is going to score. But the the pro priority is when they get to the red zone. Keeping them at three and not give them seven, because I'm not assuming we are going to shut us out. This is a very good offense. I am nervous about this game because I have a lot of I've watched USC a lot throughout the course of this year. It's Husker's money line. This Husker's money line, and put that on my record. But everybody knows I'm doing that anyway. There's no reason to hide that. This is fucking everything this weekend.

00:59:36
Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question. Ask tell me what these numbers mean to you. Thirty six that was the rushing yardage advantage Minnesota had over you. Two eighty six to forty three that was the rushing yardage advantage that Michigan had over you. My question is simply this, we go back to USC versus Michigan. They ran the ball to win the game US he's trying to win in the Big Ten. This is a Big ten game, right. Yeah, It's gonna be November, right.

01:00:09
Speaker 1: It's gonna be forty south of forty five degrees at kickoff, and it's only getting colder.

01:00:14
Speaker 3: It's gonna be on the road. All this stuff that Lincoln Riley has struggled with historically, that's the statement they got to make now part two of my question to you. No one knows Nebraska. No one fights for Nebraska football more than you, right, more than they could ever know. They don't even know, but maybe they will know one day.

01:00:32
Speaker 1: They will know very soon. How hard I fight for this program.

01:00:35
Speaker 3: Emmitt Johnson twenty plus carry Saturday, yes or no.

01:00:39
Speaker 1: Yes, you have to feed this man. He's got to touch the ball, in my opinion, at least thirty times, because he is the number two player in the country in all purpose yards with running backs. Running backs receives all the skills positions. He's number one in the Big Ten in all purpose yards with over one thousand. This is an Emmett Johnson.

01:00:58
Speaker 3: Ball game right here, Nebraska. When Emmitt Johnson carries it twenty plus times three and o versus the power for one and two. When he doesn't, Dylan Riola has taken more sacks and the two losses where his tailback doesn't carry it twenty plus times than he has in the six wins where he does. I know USC is only in the eighties and past defense. I know it's tempting to throw the ball to win here, but they're going to try and run it on you to win. You got to run it on them to win. I will take Nebraska plus the points. I'll ride with you. We're not out of this.

01:01:37
Speaker 4: What does the model say, Josh, don't.

01:01:39
Speaker 2: Worry about the model, do what. That's the thing about the fox hole. Though you can come in, you can always can I come back in?

01:01:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't.

01:01:47
Speaker 3: Yes, it's the nature of the foxhole.

01:01:50
Speaker 2: I'm at a vow to Will Compton two weeks ago that I would sit and stand in solidarity when it came to Nebraska, even in the hard times, even in the times where there's the more dat And if there's ever a doubt game, it's this game. To the casual viewer, all the stats you've said, all the stats you said, I agree. I think Johnson needs to get the ball at least thirty times this game. You need to chew up time of possession like no one ever has before. You need to use all of the game clock and keep their offense off of the field and then lure them into mistakes. You need ninety two thousand screaming fans standing up and losing their voice, as Will Compton does on a relatively easy Friday night.

01:02:29
Speaker 1: I need you losing your voice by halftime by begging the concession stands. Do you have chicken growth back.

01:02:35
Speaker 2: Pumping noise, get the little designs with all those little robot flying things, with those things called drones around, do it bring the chipmunk out doing the Freddie Mercury. That is going to be the most electric stadium in all of America this Saturday night. And I think that Nebraska Cornhusters come out not losing by lesson six and a half, but with a win ten and two. Your schedule has gotten way harder. UCLA start to stand up a little bit. Iowa sneaking up on people Penn State. Regardless of you know what they've done, they still got guys all ripping around. There's there's a lot of battles left to fight. This one right here doesn't mean the most to you. It means the most all of us. And I will be going big red this weekend money line. Put it on my record.

01:03:23
Speaker 3: Imagine thinking this is just a game.

01:03:26
Speaker 1: Foolish this it's it's not. It's not just a game. People are laughing like, I don't have a bit with that. I'm just I'm this is not just a game. We're in the playoffs right now? Are we not think about it mathematically? We heard everybody, We need everybody. I will say, you.

01:03:57
Speaker 2: Want to go money line.

01:04:00
Speaker 3: Let me put it this way. I'll do it. If you will do it, I Poty said, I'll do it. I'll do it.

01:04:07
Speaker 1: We've done it just for a photo. Hey, soft hands, and I mean that as a compliment. Yeah, I'm using someone else's lotion lately, smart men, kiss your families. We might not come back from this. There will be casualties, but we will come out of there will not be casuals. Though there will not be casuals. This is the step.

01:04:41
Speaker 2: This is the step for Nebraska right now, this weekend. We've talked about it for years. Got to take the next step. This is the step.

01:04:48
Speaker 1: The only thing that matters this we solidify our future.

01:04:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, this game is the season we've talked about. Seven and five is no longer an option.

01:04:59
Speaker 1: This is the game.

01:05:00
Speaker 3: Oh hey, we went and watched that Michigan Nebraska game. Michigan was on RAIOLA all day. USC is top fifteen in pressure rate and Nebraska is in the one twenties in sacks allowed. What I'm trying to say is it won't matter. Well, that was just a game. This is far more than that. I just want to throw out there.

01:05:18
Speaker 2: And if you're a Hogerson, if you're the OC that we all claim Hogerson to be, you see that game and your last game you played it well, the one you played against Minnesota. You can't put this in the hands of pass protection. So you can't put this in the hands of a five star quarterback. Like You've got to run the ball and make it ugly money and when you do through the ball, you're moving the pocket.

01:05:42
Speaker 1: You have to move the pocket. No, I don't think we're in a spot where we have to stay one dimensional. You can put the you can put the ball in the hands of Ralow.

01:05:50
Speaker 2: You can't.

01:05:50
Speaker 1: I'm not I'm saying not you put the game.

01:05:52
Speaker 2: You put that.

01:05:53
Speaker 1: I'm just saying, if we need a drive and Railer's got to drop back and throw the ball, I am supremely.

01:05:58
Speaker 2: Confident this this Your offensive line reminds me of the twenty thirteen Michigan Wolverines offensive line. Horrendous, terrible. And I say that because I was on that twenty thirteen Michigan off of the line. We were abysmal. If it wasn't for having a supermobile quarterback. It would the stats would have been insane. We got to move the pocket. I think Rayla can fill a hell of a ball. I think he's a great quarterback. He's not a great quarterback when he's on his ass. So we've got to scheme up some good ship here.

01:06:32
Speaker 1: We will.

01:06:32
Speaker 3: We have to.

01:06:34
Speaker 1: I got a call this afternoon with Hobson.

01:06:36
Speaker 2: Yeah.

01:06:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a Dog of the Week every Wednesday. It's me and Hob's talking game plan. Is that real red zone? Two minutes satuational ball is for the viewers, that's real.

01:06:48
Speaker 3: That's the viewers. That's real. Y.

01:06:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, for the viewers, that's real.

01:06:51
Speaker 3: Like the Undertaker was dead my entire childhood, I was a viewer.

01:06:55
Speaker 2: Oh, let's he's a Dog of the week. Let's get out of here. This is why you left that game for the last This is if we did that in the first game and then had to do the rest of the slate, people.

01:07:04
Speaker 3: Might have checked that audience checked out, terrible check out.

01:07:07
Speaker 2: That was everything anymore. Make sure you subscribe please, Uh, no point in resubscribing either. We have I figured that out. Cal plus four and a half versus Virginia Coast to coast.

01:07:18
Speaker 3: Game Virginia Tech. Yeah, Virginia. Oh you're talking about I think you're talking about last week. No, Yeah, because brought Tech last week and should have won and lost and I'm salty about it. Yeah, Cal four and a half against They're playing both Virginia teams back to back weeks and they're a four and a half point dog in both of those games. That's crazy. Anyway, continue, that's it.

01:07:36
Speaker 1: Oh, there's no pause. I'm taking I'm taking Maryland plus twenty one and a half against Indiana.

01:07:41
Speaker 2: Handstand the way you say it. I support it.

01:07:43
Speaker 1: What I lost my card on Maryland? Take oh mary Yeah, Maryland, Maryland.

01:07:49
Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean it's not an amusement park, it's the state.

01:07:51
Speaker 1: Another another little simple one too. You want to do it? You want to do a dog of the week. How about a dog parlay of the week in Cincinnati Bearcats with the points, Huskers with the points.

01:08:00
Speaker 3: Put that together for a parlay, put it together a week one special week?

01:08:04
Speaker 1: Hey, the week one special, like we're heads at the Arrowhead Special, the Erohead Special.

01:08:09
Speaker 3: Yeah. I trusted Arkansas last week. They let me down. Mississippi State keeps getting close, keeps getting close, keeps getting close. Maybe they finally go to Northwest Arkansas and find themselves. So I'm gonna take them Mississippi State being them plus four and a half. It's my dog of the week.

01:08:23
Speaker 1: You said that last week. I took a peek at the Ramen Noodle Express.

01:08:27
Speaker 2: Can I have an understanding of what the Roman Ramen Noodle expresses? You have to go check it out, I guess I will. You know what's fair.

01:08:35
Speaker 3: We've had a winning year.

01:08:36
Speaker 1: That's all that matters. We've had a winning year on the Ramnutle Expresses. Oh my god, is Purdue money line?

01:08:43
Speaker 2: We have a typo in our Weekly Parlay.

01:08:46
Speaker 6: I was gonna ask, Josh, you're in the You're in the foxhole with Will here at the basco.

01:08:49
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, what do we got going here?

01:08:51
Speaker 1: Wait? What did I say the Weekly Parlay?

01:08:54
Speaker 3: Yeah?

01:08:54
Speaker 2: I held your hand while we'll put us hands on top of box. Oh.

01:08:57
Speaker 1: Hey, yeah, I was gonna bring I didn't know that was in the parlor. I was gonna bring it up. I said, Hey, I took a peaksie at the Romnule Express. I saw, Oh you were reason to talk about that.

01:09:05
Speaker 4: Yeah.

01:09:06
Speaker 3: Oh, I still don't know what's happening. What's happening?

01:09:12
Speaker 1: Do I dip on Nebraska because it untethers everything.

01:09:18
Speaker 3: Let me say, in fairness to me, Purdue, I thought I could get twenty one and a half. Here's what happens. I send my picks to Clump and I just assumed the number I want is there, and I just assume he could pull that string. And instead I'm getting twenty and a half. And this has this has thirty one to ten written all over it. You know it, I know it.

01:09:39
Speaker 2: You're gonna score ten points on that defense.

01:09:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, well it's it's gonna be defensive points, special team stuff. Well I guess I guess it. If it's written, I gotta go with it.

01:09:48
Speaker 1: Right, it did, just move It was twenty one and a half even last night. Late movement saves me because I was looking. I was looking at it too. Just for the fact that Michigan does. They're like, they don't, they don't cover a whole lot of.

01:09:59
Speaker 3: No, they don't, they don't.

01:10:01
Speaker 2: Okay, first off, the Michigan state no cover was ridiculous. But remember the Wisconsin thirteen seconds left in the game. The Wisconsin game, I sat there and told you. As long as I can get seventeen and a half, I'm good. They beat him by seventeen.

01:10:12
Speaker 3: If I can get twenty one and a half here, which I can, they're gonna win by twenty one.

01:10:17
Speaker 2: Corner of this sheet, give him twenty and a half, dude, give him twenty and a half.

01:10:24
Speaker 3: Late breaking twenty one.

01:10:26
Speaker 1: And that is if you're on the Josh Payton tab, it'll still'll be perdue.

01:10:30
Speaker 3: Twenty one and a half.

01:10:31
Speaker 2: Yes, I'm not going to the Josh. I'm actually boycotting the Josh Payton tab.

01:10:35
Speaker 3: A lot of boycotts around here lately.

01:10:41
Speaker 2: A lot of guy's being brose lately, pretending I thought I was supposed to be the serial killer here. You just stabbed me in the back.

01:10:46
Speaker 3: All I'm saying is the models had a really good read on Michigan this year, really good read for you to.

01:10:52
Speaker 2: Bring in the model into this, As you have said, you have a Michigan problem, and they go and do the thing at the UFC, and all of a sudden, you're jumping ship. What's gonna happen in a couple of weeks vers Ohio State.

01:11:01
Speaker 3: I'm sure I don't eve want to talk about that. No, no, no, no, no no. I don't want to talk about it. That's post Thanksgiving. I don't want my mind to go there yet. It's gonna be hard, hard for us. It's gonna be hard for me us.

01:11:11
Speaker 2: I'm over here, my eyes are here. That's crazy.

01:11:16
Speaker 1: Onward.

01:11:17
Speaker 2: I'll take Minnesota minus three and a half versus Michigan State. Why I can't stay at Michigan State and also the games in Minneapolis, I shall then'm play a game there a couple of weeks ago.

01:11:25
Speaker 1: I'm taking place to play it is apologies to Ryan. I'm taking Illinois minus twelve and a half against Rutgers his Rutgers team.

01:11:32
