As you know, we've got two employees. 00:00:43 Speaker 1: Yeah, both for the record, both in the Eastern time zone. 00:00:48 Speaker 3: Yes, yes, exactly. 00:00:51 Speaker 2: I just want to say that I am privileged to have a guest on with us today on the Late Round Fantasy Football Show. You might know him as as JJ Zach g Reese and you might know him as Late Round QB, the CEO of Late Round Media. I know him as the newest member of the Best ball Bro community. Welcome in, JJ, Welcome. 00:01:17 Speaker 3: Hello, Hello. I don't know if I like that tag or not. 00:01:21 Speaker 2: Well, the whole look, I know, in the past two years was becoming a best ball Bro. 00:01:27 Speaker 3: You knew what you were getting yourself into. I know, I know. 00:01:30 Speaker 1: But now when we when we hopefully fingers crossed, you know, decide that we h we want to do becoming a best ball bro again. 00:01:37 Speaker 3: We gotta we got to hear from from the people, like. 00:01:39 Speaker 1: Do we change the name of the podcast of that of that little uh you know side show that we do over the summer, or you know. 00:01:47 Speaker 3: Do we do we just keep the brand going with becoming a best ball Bro? Yeah? 00:01:50 Speaker 2: I think it's more like the title stays the same. I think so too, because since you are i mean number one alliteration but number two, you are a best ball bro. You are teaching other people. 00:02:03 Speaker 3: Now I don't want that. I don't want that. I don't need that. I don't want that. I'm not I'm not, I'm not the best ball team. 00:02:10 Speaker 2: Okay, but you are. But like they are becoming a best ball bro. Now they want to correct. 00:02:15 Speaker 1: But now, but now I don't want to, uh you know, only talk to the men out there, because there's women out there that also want to because becoming a best ball bro it was was specifically me becoming a best ball bro right because I'm I'm like dude, And so now you run into all of the the women out there that are listening to the show might understandably be frustrated if it's only becoming a best ball bro because if I'm now all of a sudden speaking to everybody else about. 00:02:41 Speaker 2: That, Yeah, like what's the what's the female version of bro broette? No, it is not it, you know like that? 00:02:50 Speaker 3: Yeah, like I don't know, like Gal, I don't know, like becoming a best ball gal? Yeah what a girls? I mean really they call themselves a girl like hey girl. 00:03:02 Speaker 1: Though. To me, though, it's sort of it's just branding in my opinion, right, Like it it's sort of like how like Matt Harmon still has b y b yeah in his handle for Backyard Banter or Matthew Berry TMR right still has that good the same idea, Like it's not like you have to keep that Moniker forever, but the brand, you know, what you're getting into whenever you. 00:03:23 Speaker 3: Open up one of those shows. 00:03:26 Speaker 2: Yeah, bro equals gal. Okay, So I think we're good and people are saying to keep the name. Yeah, it's just a it's just a it's just a title. Becoming a best ball bro is just what people like. Bestball bro is just a term for when you are when you just have the best ball sickness, you know, like when you are just all wrapped up and I can say, JJ, that's why you are now a best ball bro. This was the first regular season that I was with Late Round, and our morning meetings every week were Okay, let's get to the business items. But first, let's talk about our playoff Let's talk about our playoff chances. Let's talk about our best ball teams. Where we are looking at like which ones are like have a chance? 00:04:15 Speaker 3: Oh, look at this one? 00:04:16 Speaker 2: What's your high Every week we would. 00:04:18 Speaker 3: Say what's your highest score team? What's your Yeah? 00:04:21 Speaker 1: I couldn't I honestly couldn't have asked for much much better of a of a fantasy season. 00:04:26 Speaker 3: You know. 00:04:27 Speaker 2: I thought you're gonna say, like a someone working for me coo, you know, fantasy focused COO. 00:04:35 Speaker 3: That's what's what you're going to say. 00:04:36 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I couldn't have asked for a better Seattle Seahawks defense this year. 00:04:46 Speaker 3: No, I you know that the fantasy season was a good one. 00:04:48 Speaker 1: Now that we're you know, a couple of weeks removed from like like content in this feed, whether the YouTube channel or you're listening in the podcast feed, you know we're a couple of weeks removed from like the week in, week out content that you guys have all been consuming and such. 00:05:05 Speaker 3: Uh, and you know, looking back. 00:05:07 Speaker 1: And seeing the results of the season, thinking about what the guide had in it, and said, yeah, you. 00:05:13 Speaker 3: Know, there's gonna be people. This is just the way that it goes, right. 00:05:17 Speaker 1: If you have thousands of people that are consuming a rankings list, right, there's going to be some people, some contingent of folks who got absolutely smoked based on the exact same set of rankings and tears as someone else who absolutely destroyed. 00:05:33 Speaker 3: That's just the way the fantasy football works. 00:05:34 Speaker 1: You could have easily just got you know, Brian Thomas or something, and you know, someone else in that same range decided to go running back and they get Devon a chant or something, right, and so you know there's going to be some people who are like, JJ's terrible at this. 00:05:48 Speaker 3: Which is just gonna happen, right, I'm very. 00:05:51 Speaker 1: Happy and please like I think I think twenty twenty five as a fantasy season based on because my results will obviously correlate to like how my advice was and such and such, but I think twenty twenty five was probably one of the better ones of since starting late round fantasy football. It was a good year overall, a really interesting season. I have a lot of ideas in my head of some podcast stuff that I want to do before I really dive into the things I got right, things I got wrong, I want to I want to look at some like high level uh meta stuff with with uh with the season and see some trends and maybe make a podcast episode out of that. But yeah, I mean, like overall, it was a really fun season. And then the cherry on top was being able to sweat the Millie. Yeah, that lineup and having Derrick. 00:06:36 Speaker 3: Henry starting with Derrick Henry. 00:06:38 Speaker 1: Like not not only so so for for people who don't who don't know this, Okay, I went for years, uh talking about Derrick Henry regression back in the day like this is I stopped. 00:06:51 Speaker 3: Probably three or four years ago. 00:06:52 Speaker 1: But early on in his career, I liked him as a prospect and I was drafting him early on, and then he just started doing you know, unhue in things and just YEA was nailing right, and so uh I was. You know, I famously had him as a cell candidate one year and he just did not regress whatsoever. And then Eventually I got to the point, probably a little bit earlier than other, uh analytically minded analysts did, because I, you know, I oftentimes a'm just like, I give up. I'm not going to figure this out, and it's not going to be figured out. This guy's just an anomaly. 00:07:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, you know. 00:07:23 Speaker 1: I did that with Derrick Henry a couple of years ago, and I just stopped with the whole fade Derrick Henry kind of vibe. 00:07:29 Speaker 3: But but Kitchen, before being hired, Lake. 00:07:35 Speaker 1: Around fantasy football last year, was talking mad junk to me about what was the exact thing that you said about I made a joke that. 00:07:46 Speaker 2: You know, it was your annual thing to have him on your do not draft list, which wasn't even true. For no, there was hyperbole involved, of course, and then it became I. 00:07:57 Speaker 1: Responded back and I said that it was bold of an analyst or something like that, and quotes, you know, to say something like that. And so we had this fake beef going back and forth, and literally like half the people reading it thought it was real. 00:08:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, that we were people that didn't know me, which more people know you than me. People that know me understand King Henry Truther the here ye hear yee thing. He's a tanness tied my favorite player ever, so they understood the context. 00:08:22 Speaker 3: The people that did not know me, JJ, who is this guy? Yeah, yeah, so we take care of him. 00:08:28 Speaker 1: Yeah, so they were like there were people that were like ready to fight you, yeah essentially. But yeah, so like the Derrick Henry thing has like a bond. There's like a special bond with us, with Derrick Henry. And then I it just so happened that the team that I got to the final had Kyle pitts uh. And then for Week fifteen, Week sixteen, this is if anyone didn't listen to becoming a best ball bro This is just a very quick recap. Week sixteen had that San Francisco stack and somehow avoided Puka in the in that pod. And then in week seventeen obviously still had that San Francisco stack, but it started with Derek Henry and you know, finishing in the top forty in the Millie. 00:09:04 Speaker 3: I feel like all of the the. 00:09:07 Speaker 1: Times that Derek Henry has burned me in the past, it got wiped away. Now I'm now I'm plus money with Derrick Henry lifetime. After after that experience with him in that lineup. 00:09:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, that was he got you back to back to even and he I feel like, like you said, he was the one guy and this was he was coming up there. It wasn't just you. It was the the running backs don't matter phase. You know, there's like a there's like a big period of running backs don't matter. Yeah, and he, like you said, he was defying the odds. I feel like the only the only two people that, like spreadsheets had a hard time comprehending was Dereck Henry and just the massive beast that he is and Travis Hunter this past year playing both wide receiver and cornerback. Yeah, really hard to model those guys. 00:09:52 Speaker 1: The other, the other one, the other one that was really weird early on was Tyreek Hill. But it's a lot easier to forgive uh wide receiver just because it's not as uh, you know, uh contingent upon the rest of the lineup doing you know, the the offensive line, et cetera, et cetera. Like it's it's a more talent driven position, which is why it gets paid more. And so with with with Derreck Henry though, it was always just like this dude literally checks none of the boxes that we want in a fantasy running back, right. The only thing that he gets is a lot of volume on the ground. But there's no receiving upside there. In Tennessee, he wasn't even in great offenses, you know, like it was just one thing after another, and so you know, fortunately it hasn't really been the case for me with with with Derrick Henry over the last couple of over the last couple of seasons. Uh I see gerg in and chat saying, film don't lie, disagree completely. 00:10:43 Speaker 3: Do you want me to rant right now about this? You've seen this, I see this. It's very interesting. 00:10:49 Speaker 1: It's really interesting when uh I go out with like a statistic of some sort and like I tweeted the Luther Burden yards per route run thing, for instance, and there's a lot of responses being like, well, it's not capturing this, it's not capturing Yeah. 00:11:01 Speaker 3: I know, I know it's not. 00:11:03 Speaker 1: I'm not saying that Luthor Burden with his great yards brout run rate as a rookie is better than Jamar Chase because it was better than Jamar Chase's as a rookie. 00:11:10 Speaker 3: That's not what I'm saying. 00:11:11 Speaker 1: It's simply saying we're directionally getting into this area of very very good wide receivers. And the interesting thing with Luther Burden is that as a prospect from a modeling standpoint, you know, he comped to like a Brendan Ayuk. 00:11:24 Speaker 3: Kind of DJ Moore. 00:11:25 Speaker 1: But that archetype of player is sort of in that like Molik Neighbors realm. 00:11:30 Speaker 3: Like as a as an insane ceiling. 00:11:32 Speaker 1: I don't think Luther Burn's gonna hit that ceiling, Don't get me wrong, But I'm saying, like that archetype of player where they're incredible after the catch and if they can can really home in and and get become a better route runner and a more complete wide receiver, the ceiling is just insane. 00:11:48 Speaker 3: And but yes I was. 00:11:49 Speaker 1: I was tweeting about Luthor Burden, and everyone says things like, uh, you know, oh. 00:11:54 Speaker 3: It's not capturing this, it's not capturing that. Guys. 00:11:57 Speaker 1: Any good data analyst knows that and should should admit that. They should not say that it's capturing everything. But when people say film don't lie. If film doesn't lie, then why does every film analysts have a different opinion on a player all the time? Film lies all the time because it's subjective, and it's fine. There's nothing wrong with film annaalists doing what they do. I have tons of respect for guys like Matt Waldman and whomever right who are grinding that stuff and putting together amazing content and they're doing amazing analysis. But to sit here and say that film doesn't lie is the same thing to me saying numbers don't lie. 00:12:32 Speaker 3: Like they all lie. It just is a matter of who's analyzing that individual thing. Yeah, ran over, Okay, let's I mean, it's the off season. This is the time to run. 00:12:42 Speaker 2: Is the off season, and the show is going to evolve. It's gonna be weird sometimes. It's like when JJ was like, let's start with two running backs and this best ball draft. Let's get weird, you know, let's let's get weird sometimes, and you know we might we might have a top forty top forty lineup. So here's a plan for We're gonna discuss a few items. Then we're going to discuss playoff best ball because really it has grown into something that is is like filling the void, right like we had there's like these niche playoff contests. But now Playoff best Ball is like Bestball, it's continuing to grow. There are prize pools that continue to get bigger. I mean the one on DraftKings right now, it'll probably be full in a couple of days, you know, like by Friday, which is generally it'll fill the day of, or there might be a little bit of what we call overlay, which is, you know, the the number of guaranteed entries with a prize pool minus the number of people that actually registered. So but there are more people to and with. It becomes a new layer of strategy. Like if you're just you know what we call enormy that has no idea and you're just trying to draft the best players who you think, you're like, what an idiot? 00:13:58 Speaker 3: Why is he draft in duvante Adam? 00:14:00 Speaker 1: You know there's there's strategy I would I would argue that playoff best Ball in the draft environment, you have to understand the game more than you would And because you can go into a regular best ball league and have a general idea of like what parameters to set with positional limits right and just say like okay, I'll draft two or three quarterbacks, five running backs, seven wide receivers, whatever, and you and you generally know and you can do it then like you can just draft it. Even if you're not stacking, you can still advance, like there's still ways. But playoff best Ball is a totally totally different beast, and you gotta be I would say that there's so much more reacting going on than there is in a in a regular like, I can't draft multiple drafts at the same time. 00:14:44 Speaker 3: In Playoff best Ball. 00:14:45 Speaker 1: It's like I tried to do it the other day and I just I have accidentally drafted three quarterbacks on the team. 00:14:50 Speaker 3: It was just it was horrible. Well, I just. 00:14:52 Speaker 2: Auto drafted a draft. Not gonna say the reason why, but I just auto drafted. I just just look at this JAF like, Okay, I just donated, you know, because there's certain structures in place, and we're gonna talk about those in a second, and we're also going to draft a team together. 00:15:07 Speaker 3: JJ. I don't know if we've moved. 00:15:09 Speaker 2: In multiple even okay, right, Uh, first though, I want to scroll down and uh just get just get some initial reactions. 00:15:20 Speaker 3: Yeah, get weird. I want I. 00:15:23 Speaker 2: Because we haven't talked about this. I've seen you in the chat. Yeah, you posted the Pittsburgh like theme song. 00:15:30 Speaker 1: There's a there's a there's a Steelers fight song that's been Roger would created it in like the nineties. And the first one, the first iteration of it I remember is when the Steelers went to the super Bowl against the Cowboys in the ninety five ninety six season. And to the point where like when if you went to school in Pittsburgh as a kid, you're my elementary school would literally play it at the end of that Friday before that weekend in the over the loud speakers, right, and they would play this this this fight song, It's here we. 00:15:57 Speaker 3: Go dat d right, and then you would. 00:16:01 Speaker 1: And and but they changed the player names, but like I still remember the like ninety five song, right, and like talking about like Nancy Thigpen and players like who's also you know, ex Tennessee Titan. 00:16:12 Speaker 3: He wanted to play for Tennessee absolutely yeah, And so I did post the Steelers updated theme song for fight. I was watching this game. 00:16:21 Speaker 2: We were talking about this on the the other show that did this, wool Cast. But I was watching this not knowing like who I wanted to win to start, I just knew I wanted to watch this game. 00:16:30 Speaker 3: Mm hmm. 00:16:31 Speaker 2: I had Derrick Henry, who's my all time favorite player, but playing for the Ravens, who's not exactly a Titan favorite against the Steelers, and I like, I like Tom Win. I like the narrative, like Aaron Rodgers going out at least like not in the regular season. 00:16:47 Speaker 3: He's had a redemption season this year. 00:16:48 Speaker 1: Yes, he did, like both both image wise and play wise, like he's been he's been decent this year. 00:16:54 Speaker 2: Yeah, he stayed out of the news as far as drama goes, like he's like, he's had a good season. And I on myself during that game, wanting Pittsburgh to win towards the end, and it was going back and forth, back and forth, and when they were about to get in field goal, you know, when they got in field goal range about to kick that. 00:17:11 Speaker 3: I'm like, this sucks. 00:17:14 Speaker 2: I want to know your reaction, because we haven't really heard from your reaction as far as like what you were saying. 00:17:19 Speaker 1: I mean, look, I'm a Steelers fan. I grew up born and raised Pittsburgh. Like I said, it's a big part of me. I've gone to we had two season tickets that we split with family growing up. I don't know if I've talked about this before. And so I went to Hinesfield from two thousand and you know, one to twenty ten. 00:17:36 Speaker 3: Ishtil till I left the city. 00:17:40 Speaker 1: I've been to like fifty Steeler games before because we were fortunate to have that opportunity to split those tickets, and so I've seen so many games there. You know, It's the reason why I think I do this and am passionate about football because of what I got to experience growing up, you know, going down there with my brother, my dad, uh, and. 00:18:01 Speaker 3: Just you know, seeing some of these amazing games and watching that. 00:18:03 Speaker 1: Those are my favorite teams of all time too, just because of that, you know, the the Roethlisberger, with those those awesome you know, with Hines Ward and and and uh, you know Bettists and then those awesome defenses that they had. So the Steelers have a special place in my heart. I've said this many times. As I've gotten older, I care a little bit less from like a fandom perspective, because I just respect other teams a lot more. You know, whenever you're a fan of a team, you you like have to hate the division rivals and stuff. I don't really feel that way. Maybe it's maturity, or maybe it's my job, right, it's one of. 00:18:33 Speaker 3: The its properly a mixture of both. Yeah, I don't know. 00:18:35 Speaker 1: I don't know exactly what it is. But what's really fun for me is that when the season ends, and if the Steelers are competitive like they are right now, not to say that I think they're gonna necessarily like win the super Bowl or even win this weekend. 00:18:47 Speaker 3: You were in the chat. 00:18:48 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm being obnoxious in the chat, but I get to I get to be you know, I got to just like let go of it. There was no fantasy going on for me. All I cared about was that game as a fan, and I wanted them to win, and I woke up my whole house whenever Tyler Loop missed that. The crazy thing about that field goal is that he makes it. We might be talking about Mike Tomlin being gone and John Harbas still has his job. Yes, that's how important that field goal was, and is it not? This is why I love football so much. In sports in general, it's always the storylines and the stories, right, and the story with the season ending on Tyler Loop's foot after everything they went through with Justin Tucker over the offseason, yes, and having to get a new kicker, and then relying on that kicker, and then that kicker being a key part to their. 00:19:39 Speaker 3: Loss in that game. It's all just crazy and awesome. 00:19:42 Speaker 1: And if it doesn't make you love football, then this probably isn't the sport for you. Because that game was a top five regular season game I think I've ever watched in my life. 00:19:52 Speaker 2: Yeah, the back and forth, losing Zay Flowers multiple times, I mean it was you just thought the odds are just going back and forth as far as just like who who you thought whoever had the ball ass was gonna win. 00:20:03 Speaker 3: I'm sitting there, I'm sitting there texting my brother and my dad. 00:20:06 Speaker 1: My dad has COVID right now too, and I got I facetimed him right after uh, you know, the field goal happened. 00:20:11 Speaker 3: He's like he's like all amped up on adrenaline. I'm like, this probably isn't good for my dad. 00:20:16 Speaker 1: It's got COVID right now, you know, celebrating this, did you do the whisper shout like you did with me after the YA Final? 00:20:23 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:20:23 Speaker 1: After Yeah, after we got into the final with the uh with the forty nine Ers. Yeah, no, so like I uh yeah, I mean it was. 00:20:32 Speaker 3: It was just an awesome game. 00:20:33 Speaker 1: And I remember texting my my brother and my dad at one point after that Za Flowers the big touchdown, and I was like, I sent a text of something on the lines of like, this is good for the for the Steelers long term, this is okay, you know, like it's trying to trying to cope that that this this l was coming. And then I mean, guys, Aaron Rodgers was lights out in the fourth quarter, like lights out with horrific wide with literal rejects at wide receivers. 00:20:57 Speaker 2: It was Adam the Corpse of Adam Theale and catch the passes. 00:21:01 Speaker 1: And Mark has about a scandling and five eight Calvin Austin. It's like, how is this happening right now? 00:21:06 Speaker 3: You know? 00:21:06 Speaker 1: The whole thing was just drama, amazing, And I hope Ravens fans can at least, like, you know, enjoy that side of the you know, and like look back and be like, man, we were part of something like insane that game. 00:21:18 Speaker 3: But I don't think that they take any I'm. 00:21:20 Speaker 1: Saying in like months from now, after they the Steelers lose the Texans and. 00:21:24 Speaker 2: That sweet of you to say that. I'm sure they're like, you know what, that's you know what, we just lost Harball. Derrick Henry's probably not gonna resign. You know, We're probably gonna cut it. I don't know if he's gonna be cut or leave to go somewhere else, but I. 00:21:39 Speaker 3: Think he'll still. I think they'll they'll keep him around. 00:21:41 Speaker 2: I don't know, man, but I'm sure they're feeling They're feeling great though about just being involved in. 00:21:48 Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna rank the openings. Yeah, so that's what I was gonna say. 00:21:52 Speaker 2: I I kind of did already, so you tell me what you'd have differently. So just going through for audio listeners, Ravens fire John Harball, like JJ said, because that kick the Giants obviously, Giants and Titans had already fired their coaches. Cardinals get rid of Gannon. The fantasy footballers the same reaction you gave after Loop missed that kick. 00:22:18 Speaker 3: They gave in the office after news. 00:22:20 Speaker 2: That Gannon was fired, Brown's fire Stefanski, which is just like, what are we doing here? 00:22:30 Speaker 3: He's a good coach. 00:22:31 Speaker 2: Yeah, Falcons with Raheem Morse, And then I saw like the video of him like given you know. 00:22:41 Speaker 3: Art the big Hug, and then like. 00:22:45 Speaker 2: You know, an hour later he was he was fired. They kiss of Death and then the Raiders. 00:22:50 Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna we're gonna put Ravens one as the best opening. Okay, I'm gonna put them below. Okay, I'm gonna go Giants too. I think the infrastructure is actually not that bad for New York right now. Okay, so if you if you're a Giants fan, i'd be pretty optimistic. Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Falcons three. 00:23:09 Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. 00:23:10 Speaker 1: Okay, Well you're just mad that I'm not putting this personal is go ahead, go ahead. 00:23:16 Speaker 2: I'm just I'm just glad the Titans are involved in this rankings. 00:23:20 Speaker 3: So so the so the Falcons are three. 00:23:22 Speaker 1: The Falcons have a pretty like decent team right now, if they had, if they if they feel any I don't feel that great about Michael Pennocks. 00:23:29 Speaker 3: But I was about to say the quarterback is a big part of that. Yees. So is the quarterback situation in Tennessee, which is good except for the shoulder injury. Uh. 00:23:38 Speaker 1: Next, I'm gonna put I'm gonna put the Cardinals next, uh, and then after that, I'm gonna put the Browns Raiders, then the Titans. 00:23:49 Speaker 2: Hold on, I'm gonna need to uh contact HR real quick because this is harassment. 00:23:55 Speaker 1: I'll put, I'll put, I'll put the I would have put the Titans above the Cardinals probably. 00:24:00 Speaker 3: Okay, just let me. 00:24:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, I know that I am just like you are a Pittsburgh guy. 00:24:11 Speaker 3: I'm a I'm a Titans guy. 00:24:12 Speaker 2: Let me give you, like the glass half full version is that cam Ward looked really good. They have the fourth overall pick and some draft capital. 00:24:24 Speaker 3: Yeah, you're you're really you're really uh bearing the lead here by saying cam wore looked really good. He did. He did towards the end of the season like at a at a point in time, like Mike. He made it at the end of the season. Did you see the graph of his strength of schedule that he faced. 00:24:40 Speaker 1: Look, I don't think I don't want to get I'm saying the outlook of cam Ward is definitely more bad than good if we're if we're trying to find a top ten quarterback, top fifteen quarterback in the league. 00:24:54 Speaker 3: But yeah, there's a chance that he's he's okay, Yeah, he did. He did. 00:24:59 Speaker 2: He did well with what he had to work with, and they have a top pick. 00:25:04 Speaker 3: More so than that, though, honestly for a. 00:25:07 Speaker 2: Coach, they have the most money available to spend as far as cap goes. 00:25:13 Speaker 3: I'd rather be I'd rather the Falcons. 00:25:15 Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say ownership matters, and the you know, Tennessee's a big mess. They obviously fired Vrabel, so I get that. 00:25:21 Speaker 3: Just wait till they get Matt Nagat, it's gonna be great. Well. See, that's the thing. 00:25:25 Speaker 2: I think anyone with a coaching opening wasn't feeling great about the options. It wasn't like last year or even the year before, like Ben Johnson was a cant. You're like, you know, we want to get him, like there was. There weren't a lot of great like up and comers that you want a lot of them, honestly were defensive coordinators. 00:25:44 Speaker 1: But my feeling about coaches because I remember, and I always cite this, but back in like twenty fourteen, I want to say, I did a bunch of coaching articles on Number Fire YEA when you know, we were just trying to get content out the door, and it was, you know, there's it was the coaching carousel and guys were getting hired and such, and I was writing articles and you know, looking at their past history from like an expected points standpoint, and how good their teams did and performed on offense and defense or whatever kind of coordinator they were. Right, if they were a defensive coordinator, usually most of them were, you know, very rarely are you getting like a John Harbaugh special teams kind of guy. 00:26:20 Speaker 3: And so what I. 00:26:21 Speaker 1: Found though in doing that is anecdotally there's not really it's it's really not easy to predict if a coach is going to be good or not. In general, what you what I've found is just like like my outlook on coaching is there's a chunk that is definitely x's and o's, and then there's another chunk that's just pure leadership. And if that leadership can surround themselves with the exces and nose and then sometimes you get unicorns like Sean McVay, right, who's or potentially Ben Johnson, we'll see what happens, But like Sean McVay, clear unicorn who understands the game on a on a really intense level, but then also can lead and be a motivator and be a great leader in the locker room, whereas Mike Tomlin is is mostly a leader, right And you could argue John Harbaugh has been mostly a leader, uh for as a coach, And so to me, there's just like there's a lot of wasted inc when it comes to who's good and who isn't. 00:27:17 Speaker 3: What I will say is, I don't really. 00:27:20 Speaker 1: Like if I'm a fan of a team like Tennessee or the Giants to a degree, aside from maybe a John Harbaugh who just has like a crazy good track record, I would kind of want like new Blood to be Like That's why Ben Johnson is such an it was such an intriguing options because he hadn't had that opportunity yet, and he was waiting for that opportunity, you know, and so and picking and choosing and finding the right spot for him. And so that's why like the matt and Naggies of the world, just like and when Pete Carroll went back to Vegas and stuff, it's like, what are we doing here? You know, like, let's let's get someone else an opportunity to show what they have. You know, I've seen Arthur Smith linked to the Cardinals you know, and I'm like, what is going on? Can we just stop this? It's gotta it's gotta end. 00:28:03 Speaker 2: Would be funny though, with the Ballers celebrating and then they get Arthur Smith and they're just like they because they understand what that would mean for like fantasy purposes. But yeah, like I think Harball and Stefanski and other than that, it's like Shula, you know, these defensive coordinator. 00:28:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I wouldn't. 00:28:25 Speaker 1: Be surprised if Shula is like a like a Raven's kind of candidate, you know, because he was tied to the Steelers before a lot of this went down, you know, before that game went down on Sunday night. But like, yeah, like I think that we we've seen that, like like McDonald going to Seattle being an unknown. Yeah, a lot of the times the unknowns the guys were were like who what, Like Mike Tomlin wasn't unknown when the Steelers hired him. And those are the guys that oftentimes, you know, Sean McVay was an unknown, those are the guys that end up actually. 00:28:55 Speaker 3: Doing pretty well in their in their next spot. 00:28:58 Speaker 2: Cardinals and Brown's just for me, at least with the Raiders you have the number one pick, and so you understand what the plan is. Brown's I don't know what you're doing, Like I really don't know how you're fixing Shadore is not. 00:29:10 Speaker 1: The answer like I would I would agree there. So like there's just any of you saying that with back in cam Ward. 00:29:17 Speaker 3: The way you are is funny. 00:29:19 Speaker 2: Because I think cam Ward is the answer. Okay, we'll say he's the definitive answer. I have no strong opinion either way. I'm just letting. 00:29:29 Speaker 3: I haven't done my research enough. You're going to. 00:29:30 Speaker 2: Disparage cam Ward and in a couple of years you're going to have him in a Bestball contest and he's going to get you to the fu. 00:29:37 Speaker 1: Oh was that like whenever I had him ranked really low this year and everyone was giving me crap for it? 00:29:41 Speaker 3: Is it like that in Best Ball you were surrounded and fifty million teams. 00:29:46 Speaker 2: You're surrounding both me and Denny, who were big cam Ward truthers. Did not work out well for us, But hey, next year quote but like, giants have have darts, so they know what they're doing. Ravens obviously a good like not a team and and a good A decent pick. The hilarious thing about the Giants is I don't know if you saw the record for the past like three year, three or four years, and they only have a certain number of wins. 00:30:13 Speaker 3: Yeah, but they keep on winning at the very end to Yeah, good stuff. All right, let's play off best ball. All right. 00:30:21 Speaker 2: With that being said, let's get to some playoff best ball. 00:30:28 Speaker 3: The late round main event. 00:30:32 Speaker 1: I'll go through this quick, yeah, and then we can draft and so people can kind of see this all in action. So I have like nine things that I want to just bring up about playoff basketball this year that you guys can you know you can. You can look at the YouTube channel and and and screenshot it or take notes yourself whatever. But these are my opinions based on myself drafting, doing research. Brandon Godola sent out a really good newsletter today about the teams because what's really important here is you need to be drafting players on teams that are going to advance. So you don't want to really draft any Carolina Panthers unless you're just trying to get something. And you know, like I've drafted maybe like two Rico Doubtles just to get like some production running back. If I just completely missed on running back or like a tech McMillan, whatever. 00:31:18 Speaker 3: But you should not be expecting Carolina to advance. 00:31:20 Speaker 1: And that's a big deal because if Carolina loses, then those players are just completely irrelevant in fantasy football and in Best. 00:31:26 Speaker 3: Ball moving forward. But here are my nine things. 00:31:28 Speaker 1: Number One, I think this is the tightest playoff that I've seen since doing any fantasy football analysis for a living. So it's a super tight race to the super Bowl in my opinion. And so what that means is is that you shouldn't have like really really strong leans if you're drafting a lot of volume in Best Ball, if you're going to do five to ten drafts, I'd say, sure, you know, go all in on the Rams. 00:31:54 Speaker 3: If you think the Rams are going to make a run, that's fine. 00:31:57 Speaker 1: But you know, if you're going to do fifty plus drafts, you know and throw money at the three dollars or something like that or even the Millie, I would not be going super super heavy with one team in that environment because there is a lot of uh, it's just a tight race in general. The second thing I have here is that team stacking is everything. Right to that point, I typically and this is number number eight on this list, but we can just skip it whenever we get to it. I ideally want a two to three team build sometimes for if you know, at most right, whenever you're building these teams. So what I mean by that is, if I take the Rams and then I take the Patriots, I'm gonna try to draft as many Rams and Patriots as I possibly can, and then build around that, maybe get a third stack with like I don't know, Houston or something like that, or or uh, San Francisco, because we know that in the divisional round, which is actually the number three point on this list, you don't you want to I avoid second round divisional round matchups between the teams that you're drafting, right, So if you're drafting a lot of Rams, well that's probably the wor a bad because that can go in so many different directions. 00:33:11 Speaker 3: If you're drafting you know a lot of. 00:33:15 Speaker 1: Chargers, let's say who maybe they upset the Patriots. You know in round two the Chargers are going to face Denver. So if you're drafting a bunch of Chargers, don't draft a bunch of Broncos because you want as many teams late in this tournament as you possibly can to be still alive, because then you'll have more fantasy players still alive. So team stacking is everything. But also do your best to avoid those divisional round matchups. You know, sometimes you're gonna screw up and you'll have a couple guys that accidentally slip in. And you also can't predict everything, like when you're drafting a five seed, for instance, it's not easy to know exactly who they're going to play in round two, Whereas you know, if if you draft the Bears, chances are they're gonna be playing either the Rams or the the Eagles, right, and the higher likelihood is the Eagles, just based on point spread. And so if you have a lot of Chicago Bears, don't draft Philadelphia Eagles and on that same team. That's just a general way of thinking about this. I will say my number four point here, I'm not immensely concerned about future pads and matchups and such like who's gonna have easier matchups. I will say though, that there are some outlier instances where like you know, the Eagles, for instance, they get San Francisco this week, who are struggling on defense quite a bit, and then if they were to win, they could get either let's say the Rams. If we assume the Rams win, If the Rams and Packers win, then they would get the Rams in round two. 00:34:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, because they recede in the next roue. 00:34:50 Speaker 1: So they would get the Rams in round two, which not a bad matchup, probably would have like a forty eight and a half or something total. But if they get the Bears, if the Bears beat the Packers, the Bears defense has been playing that great, and so all of a sudden, you have two pretty good matchups for fantasy on paper right off the bat, right away. But generally speaking, like Pittsburgh would have a really tough path because they get Houston this week and then if they win, there's a decent chance or some chance, they could get Denver next week if Jacksonville were to win, right, And that's just a brutal, brutal path. But Pittsburgh's a unique team because not a lot of people are stacking them, right. So from that perspective, if they were to make to make it to the AFSC Championship, I don't think it's that big of a deal. If the matchups aren't amazing, right, I will say, my favorite teams that I'm I'm targeting this year are the Bills, Rams, Eagles, and Seahawks. They're chocky, pretty chocky. They're four of the top five teams on NFI low, which is a way of measuring and NFLO is a great a great resource, but great at measuring you know how good a team actually is versus their actual win loss record. All of them are top half an EPA offense and defense. I think the Seahawks are a very undervalued stack right now. It's it's a little bit more difficult with JSN because the opportunity cost is so high because you're drafting him so early. But I don't really mind getting like once I'm set in the first four rounds or so getting Kenneth Walker, Sam Donald and AJ Barner for instance, right and just getting like a very Rashid Shaheed in the final rounds and just getting a very cheap Seahawks stack, because Seattle on paper, on paper, is probably the best team in football, right Like, Like I'm I too, am very nervous about what's gonna happen with Sam Darnold, but I think on paper they're probably the best team, you know, in football right now. 00:36:39 Speaker 3: And so. 00:36:41 Speaker 1: Keep those teams in mind. I'm trying not to be overconfident right now in Chicago. These are teams that I'm a little bit weary of. I'm still drafting, but I'm trying to hedge as i'm drafting more and more lineups. I'm trying not to be overly confident in Chicago right now because it's a pick um essentially against Green Bay that's a little bit scary. San Francisco I'm very concerned about because they're CMC especially is very costly, but they're underdogs against Philadelphia in Philly, and Philly's good, you know, So it's a it's a difficult spot for San Francisco. 00:37:13 Speaker 3: To be in. 00:37:14 Speaker 1: And then I'm gonna throw out Houston, trying not to be overly like I am drafting more Houston, probably than than Chicago and San Francisco. But I don't think that they're a lock to win that game in Pittsburgh. I mean, there's that, there's the stat that the Steelers are twenty three and zero in their last twenty three game Monday night football games in Pittsburgh, which is insane. Mike Tommins never lost Monday Night football in Pittsburgh. And then on the reverse side, they also have lost what six straight playoff games, So something's got to give in Pittsburgh this week. And I know that Houston's pretty bad on the road as well in the playoffs so and in outdoors. 00:37:49 Speaker 3: So I think that they're kind of interesting. 00:37:51 Speaker 1: Like I'm still drafting Houston, but I don't want to just say that they're a lock to win the way that like I feel, you know, the the Rams are a lock to win. And then I do have on here like is CMC overrated? Like I I just I'm having a hard time. I think he can score points this week, but. 00:38:08 Speaker 3: They've got to go all the way. 00:38:10 Speaker 1: Yeah, there's just a lot of like I'm getting exposure to CMC, but I'm trying not. 00:38:15 Speaker 3: To be stupid about it because it's CMC. 00:38:18 Speaker 1: You know, it's very easy to latch onto that and be like, oh, it's Christian McCaffrey, you know, best player in fantasy this year arguably, and of course I'm gonna draft him. But it's like, guys, they're they're what four and a half point dogs I think right now, and yeah, fully, and the defense isn't playing that well and the Eagles are playing fairly well right now. I just don't think it's going to be like a lock that they just are able to move on. So get some exposure if you're playing in a lot of lineups. But I don't know about San Francisco. I'm not I'm not totally buying into it, but I could be wrong. I mean, this is and they might have to play the Seahawks. 00:38:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a good Yeah, there's a good chance today. 00:38:53 Speaker 2: If they beat the Eagles, they would have to play Seahawks the second round unless the Packers upset the Bears, which I. 00:38:59 Speaker 3: Mean right, more of a pick them. 00:39:00 Speaker 1: But yeah, my typical build, if you guys want that, I usually go two quarterback, three to five or I should say three to four running backs, but usually like wait, no, I should say I don't know what, Oh no, sorry, I'm reading this wrong. Two quarterbacks, two to three running backs. It's like, why would I ever draft five running backs? Five to six wide receivers and then two tight ends is usually the standard build, Like I said, you want to have ideally, you know, a three team build, ideally a two giant stack build if you can do that, and then the last point have fun. 00:39:33 Speaker 3: That's right. That's what I always is down to. 00:39:35 Speaker 2: Yeah, uh so, Memphis says after and I draft off vibes and instant regret. 00:39:41 Speaker 3: Yeah you can't. You can't draft off of vibes in this. You have to. 00:39:44 Speaker 1: I'm telling you guys, like when you're doing regular season long basketball drafts, they become second nature towards the end of the season. 00:39:51 Speaker 3: Yeah right. 00:39:52 Speaker 1: And and like you know, you can watch the live streams I did in July and August and such, and those live streams, I'm just I can. 00:39:59 Speaker 3: I can have full deep. 00:40:01 Speaker 1: Conversations about anything while I'm drafting. You can't do that with Playoff Best. 00:40:05 Speaker 3: Well. 00:40:05 Speaker 2: The other thing is there's half the teams, so it's quicker. So it's coming back. I wanted to to shout out Brandon Godola, who is our newest employee at Late Round, because he in this newsletter that JJ referenced. He has the teams and he also has like the guide. So if you're drafting and you draft like a player, like your first round, you're drafting a player or first two rounds, you can just reference this email if you want to see, all right, who are some of the teams I need to Yeah, and then on draftings, you can actually type in the teams. Uh, there's a team filter. You can just target those teams in that way. You're not tempted to draft somebody else. 00:40:49 Speaker 3: Yeah, you can, you can. 00:40:51 Speaker 1: Brandon had a lot of good bullet points for every team in this newsletter, saying like, you know, how good they are versus historical one seeds and stuff like that, and how well they are an EPA per play. 00:41:02 Speaker 3: Just tons of good data for every team. 00:41:03 Speaker 1: And then at the end he had when drafting Seattle Stacks, you should target these teams and avoid these teams. And you can see that for all fourteen teams that are in the playoffs. 00:41:12 Speaker 3: All right, Jedgie, you can go ahead and enter a draft and we'll pull it up. Oh, I'm doing it. 00:41:18 Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought, Oh, I mean I can, if you would. 00:41:21 Speaker 3: You pull it up. I think it's better than that way you want me to, Okay, I'll do it. 00:41:27 Speaker 1: Then as you're doing that, yes, i'll uh, I'll talk more about some of these some of the best ball approaches that I've been taking. I am trying to get more RAMS players than I was before. Not to say I wasn't before, but I realized I was a little bit underweight versus where I wanted to be with Matthew Stafford. And the reason I think the Rams are so valuable is because they number one, are a good team by most analytics and by the eye tests, et cetera. 00:41:56 Speaker 3: We know they can beat any team in the NFL in a given week. 00:42:00 Speaker 1: But they also are easily the biggest favorites this weekend, like easily not even close, right, like ten point favorites against against Carolina. And so from that perspective, you're getting that extra game and there's a very high likelihood of them advancing, whereas we don't have that kind of information for literally any other. 00:42:17 Speaker 3: Team that's playing this weekend. 00:42:18 Speaker 1: You could look at across the board, who do you feel most confident in winning this weekend aside from La Aside from the Rams, Pittsburgh. 00:42:27 Speaker 3: Do you really know? 00:42:31 Speaker 2: You got so excited though when I said Pittsburgh it is you think we have a chance? Uh No, I would say for me, it's it's Rams. 00:42:42 Speaker 3: And then honestly, other than that, I'd say, I think it might be Philly for me. 00:42:49 Speaker 2: I see, I I'm not, but That's what I'm saying. 00:42:52 Speaker 1: Yeah, that reaction is exactly what we need to know about how tight this is. It's usually not as tight as it is this year, and so you really, you know, it does. 00:43:04 Speaker 3: Sort of encourage you to draft more teams, unfortunately for some you know, some people might not want that and like that. 00:43:09 Speaker 2: But I don't think it encouraged. I mean, you want to have exposure. But it's just like anything. It's a you know, it's a it's a lottery ticket. You know, it's a movie theater ticket where you're just going to be cheering for those teams. 00:43:22 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:43:22 Speaker 1: I'm not saying you have to do that. I'm saying if you're trying to capture the iterations, you would. 00:43:26 Speaker 3: Have to do that. 00:43:26 Speaker 2: Yeah, let's not overextend ourselves change if we don't need to. Yeah, okay, Uh well, we've got the fifth overall pick, so go up against Jagman, David sleptcal Boss bub jacked up Sharks. It's an interesting one and bat sixty five. Uh so we've got the draft starts in about thirty seconds. This fifth draft pick. Let's talk. Let's talk a little bit of strategy. Who's who's going to be there? If we sort by ADP, it's going to be Pooka first c MC, Josh Allen, js N, then Saquon. 00:44:05 Speaker 3: Are you fine with Saquon there in the fifth spot? Yeah, I think you could argue Saquon all the way up to one O two in these. 00:44:12 Speaker 2: You do have him pretty high up your rankings. I I've got your rankings imported and also you can import you can download the rankings on Patreon if you join the Late Round community you can. 00:44:25 Speaker 1: And I think is interesting because he's in a good spot this week, he could be in a good spot next week, and I like, like I said, I just think like I think Philly has a decent shot this weekend. It's not dramatically different. I think obviously the the the Rams have the best shot. But in this at the back end of the first I'm usually thinking about getting like if Josh Allen is still there, that's great, or a Drake Maley Saquon Drake May isn't a. 00:44:54 Speaker 2: Bad starton goes one dot three, So we. 00:44:58 Speaker 1: Could be we could be looking at a Josh Allen team potentially, or we could get like if we get Josh Allen, we could just cross our I have not gotten many Josh Allen, James Cook teams. It's very because most people just take James Cook, yeah at the at the one two. Yeah, let's get Josh Allen and see, so now that we have Josh Allen, we know that we want to start building Buffalo stacks. And the nice part about Buffalo is that we can wait, wait, wait, wait for a lot of their weapons. You know, just get like a Dawson Knox lad of Brandon Cooks and just have a couple guys there and then you know that theres Yeah, James Cook always goes to the five to six. So now we have Josh Allen, could we go Davante Adams Max? 00:45:37 Speaker 3: Now we go? 00:45:37 Speaker 2: I think we definitely go NFC. Yeah, we go NFC. I think Adams are AJ Brown. 00:45:42 Speaker 3: A J Brown? Which one you want? Whichever? All right, let's let's craft a story. Let's go. 00:45:50 Speaker 2: Let's go Davante Adams healthy just getting all the touchdowns on the one yard line. But yeah, part of it also is if you get Josh Allen, you can just focus on NFC. Yeah, something that's Davis Maddox said yesterday. We were talking about the value of like Dalton Kincaid, Like it feels like if bills go to the super Bowl, which you need the you know, whatever your high value picks are, you need that team to go to the super Bowl. Sure, but it feels like Kinka would have to be involved in that super Bowl run. 00:46:27 Speaker 3: You would have to think, you would think. 00:46:29 Speaker 1: But I can still see a scenario where like it's a different dude every week. Yes, he would, he would, he would be used in your lineup at some point. The problem with Dalton Kink that I found is that his ADP is really high for for what he produced this year and the old. To me, the only reason it's as high as it is is because he's being pushed up because of Josh Allen. 00:46:48 Speaker 3: Right. 00:46:50 Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean the problem with going the Rams there, which was what we did, is that now you're stuck with you know, no obviously Rams in the next round, you know, whereas we could have gone AJ Brown, DeVante Smith. 00:47:03 Speaker 3: That's that's the only we're on the clock. We could go. 00:47:10 Speaker 1: I mean, you could go Digs if you want to, and get one more guy in the AFC, because they're probably not gonna play each other in the second round, right they won't. 00:47:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, and then we're coming back after two picks so we got josh Allen, DeVante, Adams, Stefon Diggs, and then we're coming back get Travon if he's there. He just want is a tough draft, but t it feels like he's sniping us on purpose. 00:47:35 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:47:35 Speaker 1: I mean this is one of those ones where it's like, man, we could we could have gone ah. 00:47:40 Speaker 3: Yeah, we should have gone a j. 00:47:41 Speaker 2: Brown, So we could have gone, uh, you know, DeVonta Smith in that one. 00:47:45 Speaker 3: Remandre Okay to pair with with Stefan Diggs next. Yeah. 00:47:51 Speaker 2: And the other thing is like, I don't know, with a stacking, you know, you want you kind of want like a max. I like to have like a max of four teams. Yeah, back with a couple like a one offs, but figuring out you want the Super Bowl to have as many players going in as possible, so you want the two teams facing each other, so you have to figure out what that what that looks you. 00:48:17 Speaker 1: Could get in this in this particular lineup, in the way that it's being built right now, like we could you know, we we we took the rams with with DeVante, we could maybe get like a Kolbe Parkinson later, right, and and. 00:48:29 Speaker 3: Blake Quorum is another one that I've been getting a lot. 00:48:33 Speaker 1: And then also pair them with like like what if we just go with like a crazy Packers stack in this and it's like, oh, the Packers are the team that surprise us in the playoffs this year. 00:48:44 Speaker 3: You know, to go Shakir right here. That's okay? 00:48:47 Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, yeah, So Shakier next, And again this is where we're we're throwing a DP out the window for the most part at this point. 00:48:57 Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't I. 00:48:58 Speaker 1: Don't care that deeply about ADP. Whenever you're completing these stacks, is they're important. 00:49:03 Speaker 3: We could go I kind of want to go Kinkaid. Oh yeah, Kinkaid's still there. 00:49:06 Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Let's see if if Battiz snipes us again. Let's look at the board some of these other teams. So we we ruined Jackman's complete stack of the Rams, which can happen draft Kincaid here, so he has a Rams stack with Broncos, he has Sutton and Nicks. The number two slot has all Niners, so CMC, Kittle, Perty and Jennings with Nico there. Number three has the Eagles with Saquan aj Brown, Hurts with a couple of He's got like he's trying to work on whatever is going to look like in this next this next vert. 00:49:51 Speaker 3: He's probably struggling a little bit. And then we've. 00:49:54 Speaker 2: Got JSN, ETN, Lawrence Washington, Myers and Strange. 00:50:00 Speaker 3: So we got the. 00:50:01 Speaker 2: Jacksonville gig a stack with JSN. And that's the other thing is it's really hard to kind of pair those like you've got advance and so you can't just automatically go with like Broncos and Seahawks. 00:50:17 Speaker 1: Right right, If you're gonna go Broncos Seahawks, you better have a good. 00:50:21 Speaker 2: You better have good basis with right, Yes, that's gonna make that's gonna advance you to the next round. 00:50:26 Speaker 3: And I wouldn't. 00:50:27 Speaker 1: I wouldn't go like so so heavy Broncos Seahawks, like three or four guys, right yeah, on those teams. But like you know, when I get a Josh Allen, I'm always intrigued to go, like to see if I can build like a Sam Darnold type team, you know, just to. 00:50:41 Speaker 3: Have that, uh, because you know Josh Allen itself. 00:50:44 Speaker 1: The other thing to keep in mind, you have a quarterback, running back, two wide receivers, tight end in flex in your lineup. That's it, right, and so one nuclear performance can completely carry you to the next. Josh Allen scores forty points this week, then more than likely you're gonna advance. 00:51:00 Speaker 3: Like Josh Allen would be the guy. You'll have good odds at least to advance. We need another running back. I've had quorum. Yeah, let's go Korm. We gotta we gotta pair up. 00:51:10 Speaker 1: And then I also think that we could think about Hunter Henry still as. 00:51:17 Speaker 3: A pair with Kinka. He just won. Yeah, it's and that's tough too. I I don't know. I think we might be you know what. 00:51:24 Speaker 1: We're fine because we can we can get I guess we got Kinkaid. I was gonna say we can get Dawson Knox later. We could still go Knox if. 00:51:29 Speaker 3: We want to. 00:51:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, but we got to figure out who the quarterback is that we might want to use for the NFC team if we we do go. 00:51:35 Speaker 1: Usually Jordan Love for me in this, in this kind of scenario, Caleb Williams just went, so, Donald Love, let's go, you know what, Let's go Donald and get like Shahed and uh and see if we can get Shaheed Barner and cup or something. 00:51:52 Speaker 3: Okay, so Donald over Love. 00:51:55 Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it all right, let's get weird. Okay, So we've got right now, we've got our AFC side of things is Bill's and Patriots, so Alan with Shakir and Kincaid, Adams digs or I'm sorry Adams Korum for the Rams and then some Seattle players. 00:52:23 Speaker 3: So we're gonna wait for some of the like Hunter Henry and Dallas Goddard went really late in this dround. 00:52:27 Speaker 2: Yeah, so looking at Rams and Seahawks for that n FC side. And the other thing is sometimes you gotta tell a story with some of these these other picks as far as who's going to get you there in the in the super Bowl, and who's gonna what's gonna happen if someone gets an injury or someone has to step up? You know, Yeah, we weren't expecting that. Juan Jennings performance in the playoffs last year was last year? Last year, right, either that or two years ago? Yeah, maybe two years ago. I think it was last year. No, Eagles were last year, maybe two years ago. But yeah, we weren't expecting that in the playoffs. 00:53:06 Speaker 3: And who who have been your your bills wide outs? You've gone. Have you gone? 00:53:10 Speaker 1: Brandon Cooks has kind of been my go to with the last rounds. 00:53:15 Speaker 2: Yeah, so you're just like firing darts basically. 00:53:21 Speaker 3: All right, So we have Donald is there? 00:53:24 Speaker 2: Is there? 00:53:24 Speaker 3: Like a there's also Ty Johnson? Yeah, a J. Barner? Is he there? Nope? Nope? All right, we gotta pick real quick. 00:53:36 Speaker 1: Yeah, Ty Johnson, I guess Yeah, let's go Ty Johnson. We're gonna need to get a Shaheed cup. 00:53:44 Speaker 2: Yeah, this is where we're gonna go Seahawks Bill's rams and really focus on these teams right here and so yeah, we got Shiheed right here. 00:53:58 Speaker 3: All right. I like Higby too, or or if we can't get hit By, we can get Terrence Ferguson. Yeah, we got a pair though we don't have any other pairings with. Yeah, let's get your heat first, so we have we have someone. 00:54:10 Speaker 2: All right, So we've got two spots left. 00:54:13 Speaker 3: This is exciting. It's exciting. I don't know how good this team is, but it's exciting at least being in a lock with you. It's got it's got four teams. Yeah. You know, and people don't realize whenever you ask for a ranking, you know, you ask for a ranking at the end of your best ball streams, the one that you won. It was like a seven to one, seven to five. You know, people weren't exactly It was a very very middle of the road draft. It was a math thing, and this is a very middle of the road draft. Yeah. 00:54:42 Speaker 2: So right now we've got two quarterbacks, three running backs, four receivers. 00:54:48 Speaker 3: And one tight end. So we need another tight end. Okay, tight end. 00:54:51 Speaker 1: Tight end should be the other another rams tight end if they're available, like I think we go Terrence Ferguson t F. 00:55:00 Speaker 3: Yeah, we probably need to get him. Now. That's fine looking that draft board. 00:55:08 Speaker 1: Yeah, these rounds, so once you get into eleventh, you know, tenth, eleventh, twelfth round, you're you're really just and I'm saying this not to you, to everybody else, but you're really just looking for guys that can kind of complete your stack. 00:55:19 Speaker 3: So we know Ferguson, we know Brandon Cooks. Two. I think Brandon Cooks would really bring this together if he's still there. 00:55:28 Speaker 2: Okay, are you satisfied with Stevenson, Tya Johnson and Blake core. 00:55:33 Speaker 3: I think we gotta be. 00:55:35 Speaker 1: The thing with running back though, is that like, what's what's valuable about a guy like Saquon and why I do have him ranked fairly high? Is I again, I think that they have a better chance of advance than the forty nine ers do. 00:55:46 Speaker 3: But then on top of that, you can have a two running back build. 00:55:49 Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, lots of people go Walker and charbon Ay. 00:55:54 Speaker 1: Right, I mean like you can you can just have a two running back build and be and be good to go. All right, let's go Brandon Cooks to close it out. 00:56:01 Speaker 3: You sure about that? Yeah? 00:56:03 Speaker 1: Okay, what you want to Holman who doesn't find the field? 00:56:09 Speaker 3: You just never know. It's like it's to choose your own adventure. 00:56:12 Speaker 2: So if you've got a lot, I guess would say, like, if you've already got a lot of Cooks, it's like he's your go to guy. 00:56:17 Speaker 3: You might want to if you got multiple inntrees, you might want to diversify that. Yeah, not knowing who's the guy. 00:56:23 Speaker 1: No, I mean, I'm I'm diversifying the Buffalo wide receiver room. Okay, I'm just getting Brandon Cooks the most. All right, Well, we've got again our four teams. We got the Bills and the Patriots. On the AFC side, We've got the Rams and the Seahawks on the the NFC side, But I think we did, didn't We say the Rams, if they won, are going to play the Seahawks, So we might have gone against. 00:56:54 Speaker 3: No, I mean they still might not. Yeah, you'd be cheering for the past. 00:56:58 Speaker 1: Here's the thing I think people when they think about the like again, yes, there are some where they definitely will right, they will definitely play that next that next game. But like you're talking about the like, do I think the most likely outcome is that the Rams play the Seahawks. I in my bracket, I have the Packers beating the Bears for instance this week, right, so, like the if and there's still a chance of the forty nine ers beat the the Eagles, and if either one of those things happens, and all of a sudden, the Rams are playing not yeah, the Seahawks right next round. And so I don't I try not to get too too caught up with like the five seed stuff, because Houston's the same way where they could go in a lot of different directions with who they play. And in the second round they could play Denver, they could play New England, Like, we just don't know, because there's this fifty to fifty propositions. And so that's just the way it goes if you're if you're drafting those particular teams. If I have the the Rams, though, I try my best to typically like I like pairing the Rams with like the Packers and then having or the forty nine ers and then having my another megastack, you know, on like New England or Buffalo or something like that. You know, we just we just went with you know. The the reason why I went with Seattle in this draft and why I said get Darnold is because the team right before us had drafted Christian Watson a little bit early, and I think Watson would be a nice piece to kind of start and tell the rest of the room that you're going to go towards the Packers. And since he drafted that that team drafted Watson, I figured, oh man, they might be trying to go after Packers with us, and that would be a really big problem down the line in the draft. 00:58:36 Speaker 2: All right, good stuff, that's our that's our best ball playoff, best ball draft. And again, if you want to get in on the action and go over there at DraftKings it and they still have like other contests too. Like JJ said, they've got the three dollars twenty max, which would be a good one. 00:58:52 Speaker 3: All right. 00:58:53 Speaker 2: Last thing, JJ, I want us to pick our playoff quad box. 00:59:03 Speaker 3: All right, so let me we're still doing quad box here. Huh, Well, we've got let's pick. 00:59:08 Speaker 1: Let's pick their top three trybox. Okay, are you going first or am I? 00:59:14 Speaker 3: Yeah? I'll uh, I'll go first. 00:59:17 Speaker 2: Okay, I like that Steelers in Houston game? Is that what you were gonna pick? No? 00:59:25 Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't know like you. I didn't know for my home or what you what you were gonna pick. Are you really gonna Are you gonna pick Houston and Pittsburgh first? 00:59:34 Speaker 2: No, I'm gonna pick Eagles and forty nine Ers. 00:59:39 Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going to pick because I think the winner of this game will win the conference. 00:59:46 Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Buffalo and Jacksonville. Yeah, that's gonna be going. 00:59:51 Speaker 1: I think that one's probably the I mean odds on favorite to probably score the most points this week. Yeah, I need to get more. Jags is one of the one of my. 01:00:04 Speaker 3: Sticking points right now because I think Traves Cytn is a little bit undervalued. 01:00:08 Speaker 2: All right, let's let's let's determine a game together. It's not gonna be Panthers and Rams. 01:00:13 Speaker 1: Nope, I I I think I think the next one's gotta be gotta be Bears. 01:00:19 Speaker 3: Packers division rivalry. 01:00:22 Speaker 2: I like it because of the hatred that they have was great, and I do I do want Steelers in Texans because I will be cheering for that one. So there are gonna be the fourth one we're gonna. 01:00:32 Speaker 3: Do for what Steelers Texans last? Yes, sorry, Steelers. 01:00:35 Speaker 1: Are you gonna you want me to send you a t J wat jersey in the mill? No, CJ will be wearing that on Monday. 01:00:44 Speaker 3: All right, there you go. 01:00:44 Speaker 2: There's our quadbox JJ that will do it for our playoff Beastball show. 01:00:49 Speaker 3: Uh do you want to say anything to the people? Yeah? 01:00:54 Speaker 1: So podcast schedule, we will be back around January twentieth, where I'm going over you know, doing the typical lay round podcast stuff. This will be in the podcast feed up until then the next couple of weeks, So next week you'll probably only get this in the podcast feed, but we are going to start doing some like recap type stuff for each position in fantasy, sort of like what we just saw and then I'm going to give some way too early top tens at each position, So we'll do that week in and week out over the next handful of weeks. We are also going to be traveling, yeah, in February, to the Super Bowl California, so we will be doing some some content from out there that will hit the podcast feed and we'll hit the YouTube channel as well. 01:01:42 Speaker 3: So be on the lookout for that. 01:01:45 Speaker 1: You know, we're we're it's the off season, so we're we're starting a little slow because there's a little bit of a planning phase going on with Late Round, but prospecting is about to start for me. Ye work with with Brandon on a lot of stuff. Just really excited for what we're gonna do in twix. But for now, next week probably just the show and not probably just the show in the podcast feed, and then the week after that will be when stuff really starts to ramp up again and you guys get three episodes a week, including the show in the Late Round podcast feed. 01:02:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, more content than ever this offseason from Late Round. 01:02:25 Speaker 3: Yes, so excited about that. 01:02:26 Speaker 2: The content will some of the content will be the same, some of the content will have improvements naturally, and some of the content will just be brand new, so I'm stoked about that. 01:02:38 Speaker 3: I'm excited about that. 01:02:39 Speaker 2: So, JJ, it was an honor, honestly to do a playoff Best Ball show with a Best Ball bro top forty guy. Famously, I was at Best Ball finalist a couple of years ago. Famous, you know, I put that in my bio because it's really hard to advance a team. 01:02:56 Speaker 3: You think about the odds of doing it, it's very, very difficult. 01:02:58 Speaker 2: It's very top forty. Yeah, top forty. You were in the top forty. So it was an honor to do this show with you. 01:03:05 Speaker 3: JJ. 01:03:05 Speaker 2: Appreciate you, appreciate everybody for tuning in. 01:03:09 Speaker 3: It's on behalf of JJ.
