Now here's Matt Jones. 00:01:06 Speaker 4: Welcome back our number two Kentucky Sports Radio eight five nine two twenty two eighty seven. Text Machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. All the guys here today, good text coming on the text machine. One person rights, Matt, I think a five hundred thousand dollars party. You could get a DJ that all the college students like, say, you're gonna have free food and drink, Maybe they'd stay off the court. 00:01:30 Speaker 5: Drew saying no, they wouldn't. 00:01:32 Speaker 4: But you know, I don't know's that's a good reasonable thing to say. Problem is if you if you publicize that before Ryan, then the other team's gonna be like, oh, they're already playing the postgame party. 00:01:44 Speaker 5: And I think it would make it tough. 00:01:46 Speaker 2: Yeah, a little locker room banter there could backfire on you if you're trying to plan a victory party after the game before you even play. Somebody. 00:01:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, one person writes, Matt, what's the percentage chance you're worried we lose car for the year? You know it's not high for the year, But I think Drew he could be out again. This is no knowledge, this is no inside info, but I could see a being out a few weeks, maybe coming back a week or two before the SEC tournament. 00:02:16 Speaker 5: What do you think I wouldn't think the year. 00:02:20 Speaker 6: I mean, you just played twenty minutes against Alabama twenty minutes before that. This his last season of college basketball. That Pope comment wasn't very comforting. I don't expect to see him soon, but I think we'll see him eventually. I haven't heard anything in any direction. All I'm going off is Pope's tone after that game, but the fact that he just played a week ago and hasn't had any significant changes to it. It's just a lingering back issue that needs time. I'm hopeful we'll see him eventually. 00:02:45 Speaker 4: I hope we will too. Now we're gonna go to the phone here in just a second. Let's go over yesterday. Now we get an Eagles chief super Bowl for the second time in the last three years. Eagles won easily, So I did you know? Not a whole lot to say about it, Excepttionnon when the game is over. 00:03:04 Speaker 5: I don't know. Why is it in Philly they like to climb light poles. 00:03:08 Speaker 2: I don't know what is it? 00:03:09 Speaker 4: What is that about Phili because down and people still do it. 00:03:15 Speaker 5: Why do they do. 00:03:16 Speaker 3: They're the absolute worst people on the planet. Philadelphia Eagles. 00:03:20 Speaker 5: Whoa, whoa. 00:03:21 Speaker 3: I mean, you've heard me talk about how much I hate Philadelphia and especially the Eagles fans. It's a shame he didn't. 00:03:28 Speaker 5: You're you're a Green Bay fan. Why do you care so much about Philly? Like, why is that? 00:03:32 Speaker 3: I don't care about tell you I hate Philly. I just think they're the worst fan base on the planet. 00:03:37 Speaker 5: Well, you clearly care about them. I don't. 00:03:40 Speaker 4: You have to, but you have to care to hate somebody. Like if you don't care, you wouldn't hate them. 00:03:46 Speaker 3: I mean, I guess if you want to break it down like that. But regardless, to my point, Philadelphia Eagles fans are the worst. I didn't want to have to pull for Kansas City, but now I have no other option. 00:03:55 Speaker 5: Well, you know, I kin't. I mean, I like Kansas City. 00:04:00 Speaker 4: Bears are my favorite team, but in terms of the teams have been good in recent years. 00:04:04 Speaker 5: I really like Mahomes. I just think he's so much fun to watch. 00:04:08 Speaker 4: I know people think he gets calls, but you know, all great players got calls. And I also think they've made it to where now people just complain about anything that happens with him, you know. I mean, they're just like, whatever happens now it was a bad call. I like him, I like watching him play. And the thing is, you just know Ryan, you just know at the end of the game. So when the game was tied, I knew he'd go down there and score. I thought he'd get a touchdown. He ended up only getting a field goal. And then Josh Allen, as great as he is, and he is great, he had a chance to do the exact same thing, and then he doesn't get it. And then the Chiefs get it. They need two first downs. Guess what on third down he goes and throws for two first downs. Like you just he's inevitable. Mahomes is like we're watching the best. He's the best, and I kind of appreciate it. I didn't really appreciate it with break I kind of didn't like Brady, but I do appreciate watching how good Mahomes is. 00:05:05 Speaker 2: I know Joe Burrow and the Bengals beat him in Kansas City, but you just don't beat Mahomes And in that situation, what's six out of seven times now he's won that game. He's just he's amazing and I'm like you man, And when he got the ball and the game was tied, I put the bet on Kansas City to score because I knew they were gonna score. 00:05:22 Speaker 4: He knew they were gonna score. I'm surprised they didn't score a touchdown. I mean, he has been the starter Drew for seven years. He's been a full time starter for seven years. They have made the AFC Championship all seven years, and they've made the Super Bowl five of those seven years. That's amazing, Like, he's just absolutely astounding. 00:05:43 Speaker 6: Yeah, everything you're saying is in fact. That's why we knew going into it the Chiefs were gonna win that game. I'm not a Chiefs hater. I do suffer from Chiefs in the Super Bowl exhaustion. But you just knew watching that game, even though Josh Allen was making plays when he had opportunities, it's just the Chiefs at home. When Mahomes has the ball, you know what's gonna happen. They said, what was that stat like sixteen and oho in one possession games or something, and was ridiculous. 00:06:07 Speaker 5: They have won. 00:06:08 Speaker 4: They have won twelve straight one possession games and eighteen of their last nineteen. 00:06:14 Speaker 2: That's insane, man, stupid. 00:06:17 Speaker 4: That is just absolutely stupid. You guys need to reset in Lexington real quick. You're getting some feedback, but. 00:06:21 Speaker 5: It is just absolutely stupid. How good he is. 00:06:26 Speaker 4: And you know, Shannon, I know everybody likes to hate on him, and I know people you know, do they make calls, but like, he still makes the plays every single time. And Andy Reid seems like a fun guy. 00:06:38 Speaker 5: Don't seem like a dude. 00:06:40 Speaker 3: I love Andy Reid, but you're right, I mean, down the stretch, he's money. He just Patrick Mahomes. There's nobody better when it comes to just in the clutch coming through. 00:06:50 Speaker 4: Now, two things about the game before I go to the phone. Number one Shannon Travis Kelcey. I don't understand Travis Kelsey right, Like, I always thought he was a moral and then a couple of years ago his podcast came out, and if you ever hear his clips on the podcast, he sounds pretty smart on the podcast. His brother does too, and I thought, man, I always thought this dude was like a frat boy moron, but maybe he's smart. And then he started dating Taylor Swift and I was like, well, maybe he's like becoming an adult. And then they win and he gets on the stage and he's like, get down tonight, get down tonight. And everybody's just looking at him, like what are you doing? You're thirty five years old. I can't figure him out? Can you figure him out at all? 00:07:33 Speaker 5: Like? Is he is he an idiot? Is he smart? What is it? 00:07:37 Speaker 3: I think he's just a complete goober. But is there anybody living a better life than him? 00:07:41 Speaker 2: Right now? 00:07:42 Speaker 3: I mean three straight turns to the Super Bowl, Dayton Taylor Swift, I mean, come on, one. 00:07:46 Speaker 5: Hundred and twenty million dollar podcast deal. 00:07:48 Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that's pretty good. That's pretty good. 00:07:51 Speaker 4: If you're dude, that's a pretty good life, I would think if you're if you're Travis kelcey. 00:07:55 Speaker 6: Yeah, you won't find any Travis Kelsey hate for me. Sometimes you just gotta tip your cap say that guy's he's winning it life and in all directions, Travis Kelsey seems to be doing things right, loving it. He used to seeing Beastie Boys, which is a little corny. I guess last night he changed his song. But I mean he's in the super Bowl again. He's maybe potentially gonna marry one of the richest people on the planet. What do I have to say about him? He's an idiot? 00:08:19 Speaker 5: Though? 00:08:20 Speaker 4: Is he smarter? Is he an idiot? I can't tell me out in the middle. 00:08:23 Speaker 6: I don't think you can get to where he is in life and call him an idiot. You can't follow up that many times now there's moments where you look at him and he's a goofball. But I don't think you get to be Travis Kelcey by. 00:08:32 Speaker 5: Being an idiot. 00:08:34 Speaker 4: You're probably right now. The other thing and Ryan, I've said this for years. The game yesterday another example. It's a fourth and one. They try to run a tushbush Josh Allen. Some people think he got it, some people think he didn't. But they ended up deciding because this middle aged man waddles onto the field. One of them's in one place, the other one's in the other place. 00:08:56 Speaker 5: They don't know which one to go with. They end up marketing him short. 00:08:59 Speaker 4: And I continue, They bring out the chains and they measure it, which is the stupidest thing in mankind. And I say, once again, we have all this technology in the world. If you watch soccer, if you watch soccer, if you watch tennis, they can put chips right, like, there's a way to do it, and yet the NFL still refuses to do it. 00:09:22 Speaker 5: They have the referee run out there like. 00:09:24 Speaker 4: He's trying to run in a straight line, and he never runs in a straight line. 00:09:28 Speaker 5: Is this not absurd? 00:09:29 Speaker 4: They have these massive games that come down to inches, and the way they decide first downs is one of the most archaic things I have ever seen in my life. 00:09:39 Speaker 2: And that was a huge play. You're right, there's no way those officials saw with that ball was shot. 00:09:45 Speaker 5: They have even no idea. 00:09:47 Speaker 2: Even the fifteen cameras, you couldn't even see where the ball is supposed to be spotted. So yeah, they have to look to a way to put a chip in it. That way they know for sure if it crosses a plane on the fields, so we don't have to worry about these guys walking those chains out there, which is crazy. 00:10:01 Speaker 4: It over and over, Shannon, and I couldn't tell whether he did or not. 00:10:05 Speaker 5: You can't really see the ball for. 00:10:07 Speaker 4: Sure, and like, I think he probably got it, but you couldn't really tell. 00:10:12 Speaker 5: But it's just just put a chip in the ball. They do it in soccer. 00:10:16 Speaker 4: They do it in soccer and they determine whether or not it goes over the line. 00:10:19 Speaker 3: Why can't they do it in this Yeah, to your credit, you've been screaming about this for years now. They have the technology to do it. I don't understand why they just don't do it. At this point, I. 00:10:29 Speaker 4: Feel like Adam Carolla, who always says about the goalpost, why don't they just make them higher? Because sometimes the ball goes over the top and you don't know whether it's in. 00:10:38 Speaker 5: And he's always like, just make them a little bit higher. Same thing here. 00:10:42 Speaker 4: Just put the ball, Just put a chip in the ball like it's we argue over the spot. 00:10:47 Speaker 5: It would just take that away and you would, but they but. 00:10:53 Speaker 3: Then somebody would be out of a job. The chain Gang wouldn't have a job anymore. 00:10:56 Speaker 5: The change. We don't need that, Listen. I'm all for people keeping their jobs. 00:11:01 Speaker 4: But I feel like those two, you know what, those two can find a different work. 00:11:07 Speaker 6: The average age of the chain gang is like seventy eight. Anyway, Is there a rule that you have to be old? Have you ever seen a young fit person? No, it's always someone's grandpa. And then it comes down to the. 00:11:20 Speaker 5: High school games. 00:11:21 Speaker 4: It's like you cannot be on the chain gang unless you're also in AARP. 00:11:26 Speaker 5: Those are the rules AARP chain game. That's it. Who's that, Charlene, Charlene? How are you. 00:11:35 Speaker 7: Hey? 00:11:35 Speaker 8: How you doing? Mattin? 00:11:36 Speaker 5: Guys? Good? Good? 00:11:38 Speaker 8: So so you know what Mark Pope has done, like, he has way exceeded our expectations. It's remarkable what he's does. And I'm gonagetting to wonder if if we to b then may be part of the program problem, because it's very disheartening. Think of all the players we have that until Mark Pope called them and asked them to come play here. Never thought they play at Kentucky. Now they're seeing how oh the BBN loves you when you're winning, but when you start choking, they're going to start criticizing you. 00:12:12 Speaker 4: Well, let me pause for a second. First of all, I have heard almost no one. I'm not saying there's no one, but I've heard almost no one say anything like Mark Pope shouldn't be the coach, Mark Pope can't do that. Like, I haven't heard any of that criticism. Though I said this on the postgame show. We have to stop being this case that someone that like you cannot have any criticism without actually also supporting the person. I can support someone and still criticize them and still say, you know what I think, Lamont Butler's met the most important person on the team, but he screwed up at the end of the game. Are we just supposed to even after a loss, Charlene say, man, we're great. Yeah we lost, but man, were great? 00:13:01 Speaker 8: Like that's not no, sir, No, sir, not at all. But listen, when you say Kobe Braya can't play defense, he can't say he hasn't shown up a defense yet. But who can go Okay, so you can help that kid learn how to play the defense. 00:13:17 Speaker 4: All right, So let's let you would you don't like that if I say he can't play defense. You want me to say he can't play a lick of defense. 00:13:27 Speaker 5: That's better? 00:13:29 Speaker 8: No, I don no, That's not what I meant. I'm just saying I feel like everybody says you can't play defense, and maybe we're the problem. Maybe we heard is confidence. I think pretty much a lot of those guys probably listened to you on the radio. 00:13:44 Speaker 4: I don't words really matter. 00:13:49 Speaker 8: I don't think you give him more great and comfort. 00:13:51 Speaker 4: But what do you Okay, you seem like a sweet person, and I genuinely want to ask you if I want watch a player, forget about Kobe Bran, any player, and his weakness is a particular thing. 00:14:07 Speaker 5: Do you just you just don't want me to say that. 00:14:11 Speaker 8: No, I don't, no, no, no, I'm not saying that at all. Let me be clear, I'm not because I still have the same criticisms. Right it's Noah's standing down there under the basket at the end of the game Saturday. 00:14:23 Speaker 5: Okay, so what do you Okay, but that might have been Charlie. That might hurt Noah's feelings if he hears it. Like, I don't know what. 00:14:30 Speaker 8: I'm not saying you have to play defense. I'm saying he made a mistake. That's the difference. 00:14:39 Speaker 5: I appreciate that I'm. 00:14:41 Speaker 8: Saying he made a mistake. I just kind of feel like we're playing without money to have as many wins as we have right now against the competition that we've had. And yeah, it's a little disappointing, and we're all super nervous about seeing Lord Baldemort. 00:14:55 Speaker 9: But it's just I understand. 00:14:57 Speaker 5: I appreciate the break I got it. I appreciate it. 00:15:01 Speaker 4: God I'm not trying to cut you off, but we gotta go break. I this is Kentucky. 00:15:06 Speaker 5: Part of the deal. 00:15:07 Speaker 4: Here you get all the praise in the world, and then you're gonna get created. 00:15:11 Speaker 5: That's part of the deal. 00:15:12 Speaker 4: And if as as Mark Pope himself looked at me on the couch and said, the day we stop expecting greatness, we're not Kentucky, that's true. That doesn't mean you be rude. I don't think we're ever rude about players, but like people's weaknesses in their game, that's part of it. Like, that's part of the deal. That's part of why you come here. It's also part of why you get the n I own money. Do you get the exposure. It's part of the deal. We'll take a break. Be right back. It's KSR. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radium. UH text machine seven seven two four five two five For what person rights, Matt. If you put the chip in the ball, how would it know when the knee is down? Well, first of all, Shannon, I'm not a I'm not a chip guy, right, but I would assume I don't know this, but I would assume they could freeze the video to see the knee down, and then the chip would say at that instance where the ball was. 00:16:19 Speaker 3: Or how about this, we just put a chip in every NFL player's knee and then that way we'll. 00:16:24 Speaker 4: Know exactly Elon's gonna have us all when chips tons at some point. 00:16:27 Speaker 5: I think that's probably gonna be what happens. 00:16:29 Speaker 4: But I feel like Drew, I'm not a scientist like Mitch McConnell, but I would assume that, like you could have it to wear freeze frame the video his knees down, then the chip would say that's where the ball was at that instant, Right, wouldn't that work? 00:16:44 Speaker 6: Yeah, we can start slow. It doesn't have to be when the knees down. The ref can still spot the ball for starters, and then we'll just know where he spot. We can just cut out the running out there with the chain right away, and then we'll focus more on was the spot right? Where was the knee down? But for starters, let's just throw those chains in the river. And let I'm sorry about the employment situation here, but four or five is less people a game need to be running out on the field. 00:17:06 Speaker 5: That can't be a full time job anyway, right. 00:17:09 Speaker 6: I mean, they all appear to be in retirement as it is too much. 00:17:14 Speaker 4: I can tell you what person writes Matt. Do we think that we will win one of these four games two against Tennessee home, Auburn road, Alabama? 00:17:27 Speaker 5: Yeah, right, we'll win one of them, at least, maybe even two. 00:17:30 Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think we'll win them all and think we'll lose probably. 00:17:34 Speaker 5: I think we'll lose to Alabama. 00:17:36 Speaker 4: I think we beat Tennessee at home and then probably lose Tennessee on the road, and then the Auburn game is a toss up. But you know, we're four and one in Knoxville since COVID, which is crazy if you think about. 00:17:47 Speaker 2: It, and they seem to beat us at RUP. It's kind of in trading. We'd went down there and they went up here. Drew and I were talking during the break there there's a game coming where they're gonna shoot lights out again and they're gonna beat a good team. It's coming. Is it coming against one of these teams? I hope? 00:18:02 Speaker 5: So it's coming. 00:18:03 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:18:04 Speaker 4: My prediction is our big win at home is we're gonna beat Auburn at home. That's my prediction. Write that down. 00:18:09 Speaker 5: Shit, got it. 00:18:10 Speaker 4: We're beating auburny that's gonna be that's gonna be the one. Auburn's gonna be right number one or number two, and we're gonna beat them at home. That's gonna happen. 00:18:19 Speaker 5: Now. 00:18:19 Speaker 4: I still think we're gonna have another the bad loss coming at Oklahoma or something like that, or at Missouri. 00:18:26 Speaker 5: But we're winning. We're beating Auburn at home. Who's next? 00:18:29 Speaker 3: Hang on, I got this salary for the chain gang members. Would you like to take a guess how much? 00:18:34 Speaker 4: Whatever it is, it's too much. I'm gonna say they make one hundred dollars a game. 00:18:38 Speaker 3: It's ninety per hour, and it's one hundred and eighty seven thousand, six hundred and seventy three dollars on average for a season. 00:18:46 Speaker 4: No, if they make ninety dollars an hour, they don't make one hundred and eighty seven. Now they're not getting paid annually. They're only doing twenty games a year. 00:18:53 Speaker 2: AI is never wrong. 00:18:55 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm I'm, I'm, I'm gonna go to the booth on then making a I can see ninety hour, I can't see one hundred and eighty will these. 00:19:04 Speaker 3: Games are going for so long, and they're trying to make the chain game nobody. 00:19:07 Speaker 5: I'm not buying that. Just that hour still a lot. 00:19:10 Speaker 6: But the AFC Championship is decided by a guy that makes it one hundred dollars an hour a billion dollar sport. Here, Terry, run out here with your chain and tell us who's got the ball? 00:19:21 Speaker 5: Who's next? 00:19:21 Speaker 2: Here's one hundred dollars, Diane. 00:19:23 Speaker 5: Diane, go ahead, die in first time. Who are what's up? Diet? 00:19:30 Speaker 7: I want to know is Williams really wanting to play basketball for Kentucky? Because to me, he wants to play ketchup, up and down the floor when the team is already a ingerant, he's always dragging behind. 00:19:48 Speaker 5: Who are you saying? Who are you asking about? 00:19:51 Speaker 7: Is his life name Williams? 00:19:53 Speaker 4: Oh you're talking about Amar Yes? Yes, Amari yes, Amari Williams. 00:20:00 Speaker 7: And his attitude sometimes not too good? And did Vagabel refuse to left Kentucky's team take the cork for Warnet? 00:20:11 Speaker 5: Two good questions. I appreciate the call. 00:20:13 Speaker 4: First of all, I said on the postgame show, Ryan, I don't mean to be mean. Amari Williams has done a lot of good stuff, and the numbers are against what I'm saying. And I'm a numbers guy, okay, so I always choose the numbers over the naked eye. 00:20:26 Speaker 5: So I will freely. 00:20:28 Speaker 4: Grant you that the numbers say Amari is one of the top rebounders in the country. And I know I'm going against the numbers, so I'm ex sane, I'm being a hypocrite. He is still one of the most frustrating players I can remember here. I feel like I watch plays and I go, what are you doing? He jumped up at the end to challenge a layup, but he didn't even put up his hands. He just jumped up. He just jumped up in the air. I have no idea. And then he drops so many basketball up, so many basketballs, And I don't know why he frustrates me so much, but Ryan he does, if I'm being honest, he really does. And I know he's trying hard. I'm sure he's a wonderful kid, but do you get do you see what I'm saying. 00:21:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, the numbers on his rebounding are great, but they don't include the rebounds that he should have got, that that he didn't get. You know, that's what do they I don't know how. 00:21:24 Speaker 5: They come up with the numbers. Do you know? 00:21:26 Speaker 4: I mean, you say that with confidence, but do you know how these right rebounding efficiency numbers are correlated? 00:21:33 Speaker 5: No idea? 00:21:34 Speaker 4: Okay, I knew he was saying that Drew confidently, And you may be right, Ryan, I don't know what they include. 00:21:41 Speaker 5: But I mean, you, guys, am I wrong? Like? Does he frustrate you all? Like he frustrates me. 00:21:48 Speaker 6: I called him my favorite player before the summer started. I'm holding true to that. But he's very frustrating. And I think I know the exact player talking about. I believe Van even took the lead late in the game with it. He was in position to block a layup right where he needed to be, and then the dude just jumped and he didn't really make any effort to stop him, and the guy and laid it in and it was like, well, if you're if you're right there, do something. I mean, it wasn't really in foul trouble. He just watched. I can't remember the Vandy player, but it was a big bucket. Amari was right there. It was like he did nothing and at the next. 00:22:18 Speaker 4: Play he then got a block. Shannon the next play, yep, but that play. So it's weird like he makes plays. It's not like he doesn't do anything. But you know when he dropped that, I know you can like he's not dropping it on purpose. But when he had that rebound, when Butler missed that layup and it fell right in his hands, and if he just catches it, he gets a wide open dunk and he just drops it out of my mounds. 00:22:44 Speaker 2: Got me strong with the ball. 00:22:45 Speaker 5: It's it's tough. 00:22:46 Speaker 4: Hey, this isn't a little I can't believe this commercial. Shit, it's not the little itty bitty teeny tiny Bowl. 00:22:54 Speaker 5: It's the Super Bowl. 00:22:55 Speaker 3: Right, so super. 00:22:59 Speaker 5: It's not little. 00:23:01 Speaker 4: Weeny tiny Bowl, It's the Super Bowl. That was So that was what Kelsey sag. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think it was all right, so Drew. The second question that woman had was about the shoot around. I saw Jack Pilgrim's thing on it, but I didn't see the update. So tell me, did we have a shoot around? 00:24:02 Speaker 5: Did we not? And if we didn't, was it Vandy's fault? What happened. 00:24:07 Speaker 6: On the radio broadcast? They alluded to their not being a shoot around, But then Jimmy Dike's replied to Jack's tweet because Jack was just tweeting what he heard on the radio broadcast, I'm not mistaken, and Jimmy said that's not true. So it seems to be conflicting short answers. I don't know the answer, but it almost sounded like Vandy gave UK the option because of scheduling, and UK just passed because they're wanted to change on it. They definitely didn't do one, but they might have had a slight reason why that. Jack or Tom said on Ragular. 00:24:34 Speaker 5: They didn't do a shooter. 00:24:35 Speaker 6: So they didn't do a shoot around that we at least know. 00:24:37 Speaker 3: So what happened was Vandy changed their shooter their own shoot around time, and then gave Kentucky the option to do it either before or after, and then they declined to do it. 00:24:46 Speaker 6: They already had their routine set. 00:24:47 Speaker 4: I guess, so do they get to just change the time, Like, do you just change your reservation? 00:24:54 Speaker 5: Sure, but that didn't seem very nice. 00:24:56 Speaker 4: Reminds me of that Seinfeld thing where he has a reservation to rent a car and he goes and gets it and she said and he's like, and she's like, we don't have your reservation. He said, well I made it, and she said, well yes, but that doesn't guarantee you the car. And he's like, what's the point of a reservation. Anyone can take a reservation, you actually have to reserve the car if they reserve you a time. If you don't get that time, Shannon, that seems a little nefarious from your dorky, nerdy commodor. 00:25:24 Speaker 3: I mean, they could have done it before they could have done it after. What do we like scheduling down to the minute everything that Kentucky's doing. 00:25:31 Speaker 5: Yes, they're on the roof. 00:25:32 Speaker 3: Are we just talking? Who was it that did that? We said, like down to the minute? Oh it was buzz buzz wi. 00:25:38 Speaker 4: He schedules what he's gonna do every minute of Pope. 00:25:41 Speaker 5: Also, I mean, I don't know. 00:25:45 Speaker 4: I mean I don't I don't know that it makes the hugest difference in the world. 00:25:49 Speaker 6: But Vandy's got to come here, payback. 00:25:52 Speaker 2: There you go the. 00:25:55 Speaker 4: Door their shooting around? Is it two thirty am in Winchester? 00:26:04 Speaker 2: Sorry? 00:26:06 Speaker 4: Sorry, many Clark schedule Rogers Clark High School, two thirty am. 00:26:11 Speaker 5: That's your shooter around. 00:26:13 Speaker 2: They don't need one, you'll get it. 00:26:14 Speaker 4: Well, that's okay. I want to update you three on something. You know. I like to keep you uh, I like to keep you up on the news. Ryan, this feels like a story that you need to be kept up with. 00:26:26 Speaker 2: Okay, I'm ANXI. 00:26:27 Speaker 5: What do you know? What do you know about AI? 00:26:31 Speaker 4: Like if I if Ryan were asked by a student, hopefully that would never happen. But if Ryan were asked by a student, Uncle Ryan tell me what you know about AI. 00:26:42 Speaker 5: What would you say? 00:26:44 Speaker 2: Well, MJ, it's artificial intelligence, and it is completely taking over the world. It can write stories, it can make up videos, and before I die, it's going to be doing everything that we are living for, all of our jobs. It's gonna take over everything thing that we're. 00:27:00 Speaker 4: Living for, Like our whole basis of existence will be gone. 00:27:04 Speaker 5: Is that what you're saying? 00:27:05 Speaker 2: Ks R will be all AI? 00:27:07 Speaker 5: At some point the AI R He sounds awesome, isn't he shit? Okay? All right? So Ryan, in your current life, how do you use AI? 00:27:19 Speaker 2: I don't think I use it at all? 00:27:21 Speaker 4: Okay, all right, So it's you think it's gonna take over your entire existence, but it still hasn't even made up anything you do yet? 00:27:28 Speaker 2: Correct. Yes, I'm AI free over. 00:27:31 Speaker 4: The week So over the weekend, Ryan, Again, I have no idea what I'm talking about. Okay, I only know slightly more than Ryan. But did you hear about the story that happened over the weekend that rock the AI world? 00:27:45 Speaker 5: Ryan? 00:27:47 Speaker 2: They were bought out, somebody bought out the other person. 00:27:50 Speaker 4: Who was bought out. Uh, the you don't know what you have? What do you mean they were bought out. 00:27:56 Speaker 2: Well that I heard a new story this morning. Ah the Chinese, I think, came up with a technology that's better. 00:28:06 Speaker 4: Okay, that's a little different than they were bought out, but yes, okay. So these companies, Navidia and all these companies have been spending billions upon billions of dollars to create AI and like our part of the reason our stock market has risen to record highe is all these people are putting money in AI Aii right, and then this Chinese company what was there, what's their name? 00:28:30 Speaker 10: Drewe Deep deep Sea, Deep Seep Seek deep Seak comes along and Shannon, I don't know the details, but they basically over the weekend put. 00:28:41 Speaker 4: Out their AI thing. They made it open source, which means anybody can get it. You can just take it right. It's like not protected, and some people think it's better than anything the chat, GPT's and all have put out that for free. 00:28:58 Speaker 5: They put out this software that's better. 00:29:00 Speaker 4: Than all this software these companies spend all this money on and it's freaking everybody out because everybody has thrown money into AI and they're like, wait a minute, this kid in China just for free, maybe made something better in the stock market. 00:29:16 Speaker 5: I don't know if you've looked at it like it's tanking. 00:29:19 Speaker 4: All those techs got stocks because they're like, oh no, what if AI just became free for everybody? 00:29:25 Speaker 3: Well, first of all, I don't want to look at the stocks if you say they're going down like that. 00:29:29 Speaker 4: But well, not just the tech ones. I don't know if the stock market in general is going down. But like Navidias. 00:29:35 Speaker 3: Already getting so good and so quickly too. So I'm I'm just afraid of what it's going to be able to do, Like if this one's even better than what we've seen already. We knew it was going to advance, but seems like it's on the fast track to get there quickly. 00:29:48 Speaker 4: Well, I don't know anything about it. I've given you all I know, but it apparently and Ryan, I'm shocked at how much you knew. 00:29:55 Speaker 5: How did you know what you knew? 00:29:57 Speaker 2: I just heard a report, a news report on this morning, and it was like the lead story like, so well I have I really must be a big deal. If they're uh, this technology is now kind of oversea, uh, superseding everything else that's already been developed. 00:30:11 Speaker 5: Yes, here's what's scary about it? Shandean. They say the AI is so smart. 00:30:17 Speaker 4: That it is coming up with its future gains. You see what I'm saying, Like, rather than waiting for people to invent and make it better, it's inventing everything to make it better. Like it's like it's making itself bigger every time. So what I don't even know what that means, but it does. 00:30:36 Speaker 3: It's it's just getting smarter on its own without a human having to program it to be smarter, is what it sounds like. 00:30:42 Speaker 4: It's it's learning on its own. That's the best way to put it. Yes, it's learning on its own. 00:30:47 Speaker 6: And they're claiming they built all this for like five million dollars, and they said they did the. 00:30:51 Speaker 4: Whole thing for six million dollars, which seems which we're calling calling their buff for now, it'll be a bad thing if there way, who's we America an nvidio? 00:31:05 Speaker 2: So what in another couple of months, somebody else is gonna invent something that's even better than this. 00:31:10 Speaker 4: Oh, it's gonna invent itself. It doesn't, it's gonna invent itself. And I don't know what I'm talking about. Just for the record, if people who have people who have scientific backgrounds have got to. 00:31:21 Speaker 5: Be rolling your eyes. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I. 00:31:24 Speaker 4: Am telling you that, like for free, now, apparently there's something that's better than everything. 00:31:30 Speaker 3: We can't go backwards. Either's the problem too, Like once the two it's gonna. 00:31:34 Speaker 5: Eat us at some point. 00:31:35 Speaker 4: Like you're worried about aliens, Yeah, I'm worries about these computers, just going, we don't need these humans anymore. 00:31:42 Speaker 5: Why in the world are they here? Yep? 00:31:44 Speaker 2: And that's the end of us. 00:31:46 Speaker 5: Yeah, all right with that? Who's next on the phone? 00:31:49 Speaker 2: Teresa? 00:31:51 Speaker 5: Teresa? Is that three straight female callers? That's got to be a record, Teresa, Go ahead, Teresa. 00:31:57 Speaker 9: I'm really impressed. I can't believe it's all these ladies. Colleen, Hey, good morning, random call. Calling from the Highlands in Louisville, Kentucky. My son turned twenty one last Thursday, so his birthday is actually one, two, three four, And he said, Mom, where are you going to take me to eat? And I said, we are going to kiss our bar. He had never been, and I will tell you he told me it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. He had the beer cheese burger. 00:32:30 Speaker 5: That's good. That's good. 00:32:31 Speaker 4: Well, that's very nice of you. Happy twenty first to your son and a very smart choice. Teresa, Thank you very much, appreciate it. The beer cheeseburger very good. Uh, you don't eat more than one a week. Your heart will explodee more than one than day than you know, you're not gonna make it to see the AI kill us. 00:32:55 Speaker 5: But it is very good. 00:32:57 Speaker 4: Just know it's it's like a lot of food and it's you know, sort of artery clogging. So much about it, Like I don't nobody when you order the beer cheese burger, you don't think you're getting light food. 00:33:13 Speaker 5: Shit, You kind of know what you're getting. Ryan. Tell me about Stocking Mortgage. 00:33:17 Speaker 2: Oh, Stockton Mortgage. You know that's a good time to buy. It's always a good time to buy. That surprised me more than Ryan knowing something about the news story you brought up about that. 00:34:01 Speaker 5: It was a little surprising. I'm kind of proud of you, Ryan. You like, when when do you listen to the news. 00:34:07 Speaker 2: As I'm getting up in the morning, I turn on the pre show and there's always little news hit before the pre show start, before I get naked and get show all. 00:34:14 Speaker 5: Your news from the news hit before the pre. 00:34:17 Speaker 2: Show and then the pre show. Yeah, they kind of get me updated that first fifteen seconds, fifteen minutes. 00:34:22 Speaker 6: I'm ready to go really billy, like a major news recently, he legitimately heard from the pre show like something big? 00:34:28 Speaker 5: What was that just a month ago? 00:34:30 Speaker 2: I don't remember what it was. 00:34:31 Speaker 5: He was like Trump won. 00:34:33 Speaker 4: I found out that the pre show that. 00:34:37 Speaker 5: Was what it was. 00:34:38 Speaker 2: That's what it was. I went to bed before the results were announced. The pre show told me that next morning, you didn't even feel the need when you woke up to find out. 00:34:47 Speaker 5: No. 00:34:47 Speaker 4: I will say this, I give you credit. Like one of the things I do love about you. You have a life that's so simple and pure that we have a presidential race and the next morning, Shannon it it doesn't even occur to him to figure. 00:35:02 Speaker 5: Out who won. 00:35:02 Speaker 3: Yep, He's like, no matter who won, Soun's gonna rise, I'm gonna get up, I'm gonna do Ryan likes. 00:35:07 Speaker 5: I don't care. You know what. 00:35:09 Speaker 4: Rather than turning on the news to find out if Trump won, I'll just listen to Shannon. 00:35:14 Speaker 5: And Billy tell me. 00:35:15 Speaker 2: They'll probably tell me unbelievable. 00:35:20 Speaker 4: Two, episode twenty eighty seven. We'll take a break here, right backs, can't talk. 00:35:27 Speaker 5: Work come back. 00:35:28 Speaker 4: It is Kentucky Sports Radio. He if I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven, one person, right or excuse me? 00:35:34 Speaker 5: First, Serve Pro. 00:35:35 Speaker 4: You know, all over the country there have been unfortunately a lot of disasters, fires in La hurricane floods, et cetera. But Serve Pro their disaster National Storm Team has been responding with over two thousand franchises all over. They come in and make it like it never even happened, whether you have floods, electrical shortages, or whatever. Serve Pro is a one stop shop when disaster strikes. We hope you don't need us, but if you do, one eight hundred serve Oh that's s E R V p r O dot com. Did you see Melwood Art Center? Did you see that big flood that they had that video? 00:36:07 Speaker 5: Shannon? No, I didn't. 00:36:09 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I assumed the video is correct. Honestly, I don't know, but there was a video. Hey, I don't think it. Why would you put an AI video of the Melwood Art Center flooding? But it was it was a It looked awful and I thought to myself, they're gonna need Serve Pro to clean that up. It was like a valve burst or something in the You know, have you ever been to that Melwood Art Center? They always Yeah, I always Drew and I've been there. What they always had that party during derby? Isn't that one we always go to. 00:36:34 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:36:34 Speaker 6: Phillies and Stallions. 00:36:36 Speaker 5: Yeah, Phillies and Stallions. That's right. 00:36:38 Speaker 4: One person writes Matt not surprised Vanderbilt did not let us in. 00:36:43 Speaker 5: They're the Commodores, not the uh commodores. 00:36:47 Speaker 2: But I liked it, Shannon liked it. 00:36:52 Speaker 4: I thought that was a funny joke coming stupid, but it made me laugh. One person says Matt that, and it's correct. Our fan base can be too harsh. If you don't believe me, just look at your comments on Twitter from people under your posts and on Facebook on post. Yeah, but Drew, you can't use that as the standard, right because people are I've said this a lot, they're the worst version of themselves online. Whatever your worst trade is, when you're online, you bring it out more. 00:37:22 Speaker 2: So. 00:37:22 Speaker 4: If you're hateful, you'll be more hateful online. If you're like me and you're argumentative, you'll be more argumentative online. Take whatever trade it is you have, you'll be a worst version of that online. But also, like, it's not a good representation. 00:37:37 Speaker 5: You know. 00:37:38 Speaker 4: That's partially why I'm not one hundred percent sure what happens Saturday night at the game against Arkansas, because if you look online, you'll assume everybody's gonna boo coal. But like, maybe that won't be how it is in real life. You know, at the end of the cal Era, if you just read the comments under my post, you would think everyone in Big Blue Nation was mad at me and thought I was run and cal off and they love cal And then when Pope had the thing like and I believed it, I was like, I guess the fan base and I are just not connecting anymore. And then we went to the press conference and they said my name and I got a nice reaction. I was like, oh, online is not real. So like, I hope the players realize if they are online and see it that the comments you see online it feels like a lot of people, but it's usually like the same forty or fifty people, and it is not true I think representative of the fan base a whole at all. Just think about one game at CHS Bar. How many people are in that bar? Are more people than comment on any post of mine on Twitter. 00:38:44 Speaker 5: So, like you have to just have a perspective. 00:38:48 Speaker 6: Yeah, social media is full of jerks. And once you just put in your brain that there are people on social media just out there to get a reaction. They don't even believe some of the stuff they say. They're leaving a comment to either anger the person that are applying to or generate people applying to them. There's a viral thing right now of a recruit where a Kentucky fan DMed them and the mom's upset. Kentucky fans did this? 00:39:09 Speaker 2: All right? 00:39:10 Speaker 6: That is one anonymous person on the part photo. I mean that shouldn't happen. Then that's awful, But that is not say a peep about the rest of Kentucky fans. That's just one jerk on the internet. And unfortunately the internet's got more than one of them. 00:39:23 Speaker 4: And if your standard is did one person in a fan base say something bad, that'll be every fan base because every fan base has a jerk. Every everything has a jerk. Like that's just that's just kind of life. And as somebody told me a long time ago, and you've probably heard me say this fifty times, anytime somebody's really nasty online, they're not a happy person. Because Shannon, as you have and I've talked about, think about the times you've been happy in your life. Did you want to go online and say something nasty to somebody? 00:39:54 Speaker 2: No, not at all. 00:39:56 Speaker 9: No. 00:39:56 Speaker 4: If your life is fulfilled, the last thing you'd want to do is go nasty to someone online. So generally speaking, what I try to remember is when someone's a jerk online, it's because they're not a very happy person in general, and this is how they're expressing it, and you just go, man, I hope things get better for that person. Because people you know, and then includes famous people, famous people that are trolls online, they're probably unhappy in their life as well. 00:40:21 Speaker 5: Who's next, Brian? Go ahead, Brian? 00:40:28 Speaker 11: Hello, did you hear me? 00:40:30 Speaker 5: Yes? Go ahead? Hello, Yes, go. 00:40:32 Speaker 4: Ahead, Yeah, you gotta turn your radio down, turn your radio down, and just and no and no blue tooth, just normal conversation. 00:40:39 Speaker 5: All right, go ahead, Okay, is that better? Yes? Okay. 00:40:48 Speaker 11: One thing about that game. We were down two points, Lamont Butler's trying to pass a little small bounce passed to Amari Williams. They got knocked away back to him. Well, let's that again, and then we get it stolen. For first of all, if we're down two points, why are we throwing the ball to Amari at the top. 00:41:07 Speaker 5: Of the key. 00:41:10 Speaker 4: Well, I agree with you that he shouldn't have done it. Now, the reason they probably were doing it is they run a lot of their offense through Amaro at the top of the key. 00:41:19 Speaker 5: He does a little handoffs. He did. 00:41:21 Speaker 4: I mean, that's a big part of what they do. But once the pass didn't go through the first time, I'm with you. I don't know why I felt like he needed to force it the second time. 00:41:30 Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, if you got it back, you were fortunate to get it back the first time. Back and back out. Let's do something else. I mean, why are we going to the same you know. It just didn't make sense to me. And I was ready to punch the TV at that point. 00:41:42 Speaker 4: Yeah, me too, my guess, And I appreciate the call. My guest, Ryan is Pope had a play out of the time out. Remember we were coming out of a timeout. Pope had a play out of the time out, and they wanted to run the play and it required Amar to get the ball there, and they just didn't improvise if it ended up getting cut off. 00:41:57 Speaker 2: That's exactly I think the way it played out. But the butler's got to be just smarter at that point, you know, And he made two kind of lack of days ago passes back to back in that situation. That knows that was a costly turnover too. 00:42:08 Speaker 5: Man, costly turnover, huge turnover. 00:42:11 Speaker 4: I mean those two turnovers, the one where Butler was dribbling and then that one, they were massive, and then old Way tried to make a play, he lost it, and then ultimately that was probably the game. We didn't mention too by the way drew that free throw where we had four guys on the free throw line and they had one and they ended up getting the ball they got. But I mean, like that was an example just of the effort at the end of the game. 00:42:32 Speaker 6: Loose balls, that rebound. Of all things that Kentucky hasn't done well this year, the effort on stuff like that is what drives me the craziest. 00:42:39 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's uh, well, we played Tennessee tomorrow. No rest for the weary. Time to get back to it. Thank you all very much. We will see you later. We're in studio again tomorrow pregame show there it will have Tuesday. 00:42:53 Speaker 5: This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
