<v Speaker 1>episode today. I've been asked to moderate a fantasy draft
<v Speaker 1>for Bond Girls, and so I have with me hosts
<v Speaker 1>from a film by podcast, the Surely you Can't Be
<v Speaker 1>Serious podcasts, the on Her Majesty's Secret podcast. I think
<v Speaker 1>I got that right, as well as the thirty something podcast.
<v Speaker 1>So I feel a little bit like more successful than
<v Speaker 1>blowfeiul to taking over the world. I'm a guy with
<v Speaker 1>no podcasts of my own, yet I have simultaneously hijacked
<v Speaker 1>four of them all at once, and I'm feeling pretty powerful.
<v Speaker 2>So anyway, this.
<v Speaker 1>Is gonna be a fantasy draft of Bond Girls, and
<v Speaker 1>we'll have five rounds of these picks and then we'll
<v Speaker 1>leave it up to the audience to decide the winner.
<v Speaker 2>So let's get straight to introductions. First up, we.
<v Speaker 1>Have the host of a Film by Podcast, Jeff Johnson. Jeff,
<v Speaker 1>tell us about you, about your show and your Bond credentials.
<v Speaker 3>Hello, Dave, thank you for joining us and doing this
<v Speaker 3>for us. My name is Jeff Johnson. I'm one of
<v Speaker 3>the co hosts for a Film by Podcast. Basically, what
<v Speaker 3>we do is we take our favorite directors. We take
<v Speaker 3>Hollywoods biggest directors, and we like to focus in on
<v Speaker 3>their underrated hits, you know, not necessarily things that you
<v Speaker 3>might have heard or might not have done well but
<v Speaker 3>the box office, but things that we feel you should
<v Speaker 3>definitely check out. And then we also have a couple
<v Speaker 3>of limited series. You know, we've done the nineteen eighty
<v Speaker 3>six series, which you know, Jason has been a part of,
<v Speaker 3>which you've been a part of. We're currently working on
<v Speaker 3>a one called a Film at forty five or a
<v Speaker 3>couple episodes deep into that. We're celebrating the forty fifth
<v Speaker 3>anniversary of movies that were in nineteen seventy eight, so
<v Speaker 3>doing some fun stuff with that. As far as Bond
<v Speaker 3>goes in my connection, I still remember the day that
<v Speaker 3>my dad told me not to go outside to play
<v Speaker 3>because he wanted me to watch a movie. I sit
<v Speaker 3>down in front of the TV and I'm immediately just
<v Speaker 3>unhappy because I see this is some old movie.
<v Speaker 2>What do I care?
<v Speaker 3>And then all of a sudden, I see this girl
<v Speaker 3>completely covered in gold and I was like, wait, what
<v Speaker 3>is this? And then the you know, I was hooked.
<v Speaker 3>Goldfinger was my first experience. My dad introduced me to
<v Speaker 3>James Bond later that year. We went to the movie
<v Speaker 3>theater to see A View to a Kill in nineteen
<v Speaker 3>eighty five. Again, I was a little confused when I
<v Speaker 3>saw Roger Moore's face. I leaned, Dad, that's not James Bond. No,
<v Speaker 3>it is James Bond. Just you know, it's a new
<v Speaker 3>but happy to say my dad has taken me to
<v Speaker 3>see every James Bond film since of You to Will Kill.
<v Speaker 3>And the fun thing for me is at this point
<v Speaker 3>now as an adult, I'm taking him to go see him.
<v Speaker 3>So we haven't missed one, and I don't I don't
<v Speaker 3>plan for that to happen anytime soon.
<v Speaker 2>That's pretty awesome.
<v Speaker 1>So Jason Colvin, tell us a little bit about your
<v Speaker 1>show and your bondage experiment, I mean bond experience.
<v Speaker 4>Well, my name's Jason Colvin and I co host the
<v Speaker 4>Shirley Can Be Serious Podcast with my good buddy James D. Graves,
<v Speaker 4>and we are a podcast for the MTV generation. What
<v Speaker 4>we do is we take two movies or albums or
<v Speaker 4>TV shows or you know, books, whatever, and we match
<v Speaker 4>them up against them themselves. And so we've done some
<v Speaker 4>pretty fun ones. Jeff with you, We've done Jos The
<v Speaker 4>Revenge versus Superman four and that was kind of a
<v Speaker 4>fun one. Dave with you, we did License to Ill
<v Speaker 4>by the Beastie Boys versus Raisin Hell Run DMC. What
<v Speaker 4>we've got coming down the Pipe, We've got Raisin Area
<v Speaker 4>Zona versus The Big Lebowski. We're working on Summer of
<v Speaker 4>nineteen eighty eight, so we're doing Twins versus Big We've
<v Speaker 4>got Long Cold Winter by Cinderella versus OU eight one
<v Speaker 4>two Van Halen, and we like to match those up
<v Speaker 4>and we go deep. We try to ferret out the
<v Speaker 4>stuff that other people don't find, and so some more
<v Speaker 4>trivial type of things. For me, my first bond experience
<v Speaker 4>happened in the summer of nineteen eighty one, and I
<v Speaker 4>contend that two weeks of June and nineteen eighty one
<v Speaker 4>were the best two weeks in eighties movie history. So
<v Speaker 4>you know, you've got Stripes, You've got Great Uppet Caper,
<v Speaker 4>You've got for Year Eyes Only, You've got Raiders of
<v Speaker 4>Lost Dark, You've got Dragon Slayer, You've got all these
<v Speaker 4>great movies released all in the same two week period.
<v Speaker 2>Clash of the Titans, I think.
<v Speaker 4>Clash of the Titans and yeah, actually, I've got a
<v Speaker 4>tidbit on Clash of the Titans here in a minute,
<v Speaker 4>because we'll be talking about probably Ursula Andris at some point.
<v Speaker 4>Once I had seen Raiders of Lost Dark with my
<v Speaker 4>best friend at the time. He's like, man, we've got
<v Speaker 4>to go see for Your Eyes Only. It's the new
<v Speaker 4>James Bond movie. And I had never heard of James Bond.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, what are you talking about. He's like, well,
<v Speaker 4>if you like Raiders of the Lost Dark, you'll definitely
<v Speaker 4>like for Your Eyes Only. And so we went to
<v Speaker 4>the movie theater and I was like, this is the
<v Speaker 4>greatest summer I've ever had because I just saw Raiders
<v Speaker 4>and now I'm watching James Bond and it was just awesome,
<v Speaker 4>and so that was my first experience awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Van, tell us about you, and at least tell us
<v Speaker 1>about your James Bond podcasts and your Bond, your relationship
<v Speaker 1>to Bond and the franchise.
<v Speaker 2>I am Van Allen Plexico.
<v Speaker 5>I run the White Rocket Entertainment Network, which has a
<v Speaker 5>number of different podcasts channels, but the one relevant here
<v Speaker 5>is on Her Majesty's Secret Podcast. When I came up
<v Speaker 5>with that name several years ago, I said, well, now
<v Speaker 5>I've got to have a show, because that's too good
<v Speaker 5>of a name not to actually use.
<v Speaker 2>And so Alan J.
<v Speaker 5>Porter, the author of many books on James Bond. He
<v Speaker 5>and I do a occasional review. We're working our second
<v Speaker 5>way through the movies now. The first time we just
<v Speaker 5>kind of did long reviews of them, discussing every aspect,
<v Speaker 5>every scene, every moment. This time we're doing kind of
<v Speaker 5>like categories, rating the girls, the gadgets, the villains and
<v Speaker 5>all that as we go through.
<v Speaker 2>So that's what we've been doing lately.
<v Speaker 5>But there are other folks on that show, including Raymond Benson,
<v Speaker 5>the author. He comes on occasionally we talk about Bond music,
<v Speaker 5>the scores and everything.
<v Speaker 2>So we have a lot of fun on that series.
<v Speaker 2>It's that secret.
<v Speaker 5>Podcast dot Podbean dot com. As far as me, I
<v Speaker 5>think my first exposure to Bond was in the early
<v Speaker 5>seventies on like the ABC Sunday Night Movie when they
<v Speaker 5>would show either, they kept switching back. Say I never
<v Speaker 5>had the Who's Bond thing, because they would one week
<v Speaker 5>they would show Diamonds or Forever, and the next week
<v Speaker 5>they would show Live and Let Die, and they'd switch
<v Speaker 5>back and forth. So I was getting Sean Connery and
<v Speaker 5>Roger Moore kind of in equal doses, and so I
<v Speaker 5>thought of them both as Bond, and then I saw
<v Speaker 5>I have a love hate relationship though in the mid
<v Speaker 5>seventies because we were in Florida on a vacation and
<v Speaker 5>there was Star Wars was out and I was dying
<v Speaker 5>to see Star Wars and we went and saw The
<v Speaker 5>Spy Who Loved Me. So I've always hated The Spy
<v Speaker 5>Who Loved Me. Even though I'd acknowledge it's a good
<v Speaker 5>Bond film, I hate it because it kept me from
<v Speaker 5>seeing Star Wars for like four months.
<v Speaker 2>And as far as.
<v Speaker 5>Bond goes, I really do like the idea of a
<v Speaker 5>secret agent.
<v Speaker 2>That s exactly. He's kind of his own guy.
<v Speaker 5>He's a really interesting character and charismatic and exciting, and
<v Speaker 5>he's held up for all these going on sixty years now.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, it's not more. Yeah, so very good.
<v Speaker 1>And the last participant in our draft today is Pat
<v Speaker 1>Cantagallo from the thirty something podcast.
<v Speaker 2>Pat, tell us.
<v Speaker 1>About your show, what you got going on and any
<v Speaker 1>relationship to Bond.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, so thirty something movie podcast, it's actually the show.
<v Speaker 6>The guy that ran the show starts the show is
<v Speaker 6>my friend John Ree, and he got a bunch of
<v Speaker 6>us together. We're all teachers. We would all sit when
<v Speaker 6>we'd have break time or blunch or whatever, we'd sit
<v Speaker 6>down and just talk about movies, all right, our friends Jeff,
<v Speaker 6>Dennis Bow, myself, and then we would just sit and
<v Speaker 6>talk movies. There were sometimes we'd we'd be sitting there
<v Speaker 6>and have entire conversations just using movie quotes. And sometimes
<v Speaker 6>that would just completely weird the other teachers, Like sometimes
<v Speaker 6>students wouldn't know where the really you know, the smart
<v Speaker 6>students would always, you know, pick up on what we
<v Speaker 6>were saying. And so finally John's like, you know what
<v Speaker 6>I've always wanted to do a podcast. Let's put this
<v Speaker 6>all together and let's just talk about movies as a podcast.
<v Speaker 6>And so the way our show works is that we
<v Speaker 6>review movies that are coming up on their thirtieth anniversary.
<v Speaker 6>So right now, each year we do one movie a
<v Speaker 6>week from thirty years ago. So right now we're working
<v Speaker 6>through nineteen ninety three, and we just got done with
<v Speaker 6>the film. It's Quentin Tarantino wrote the script. Christian Slater
<v Speaker 6>start in it. It's called True Romance, And like it's
<v Speaker 6>been great because you know, I had never seen that
<v Speaker 6>movie before, and so like I was blown away with
<v Speaker 6>this and it's awesome going back, how did I miss
<v Speaker 6>this movie? And then all of a sudden, like the
<v Speaker 6>next week we could be doing, for example, Jurassic Park. Okay,
<v Speaker 6>I've seen this movie. Is that really already thirty years old?
<v Speaker 6>Like where did that come from? And getting together and realizing, wow,
<v Speaker 6>I've had all these feelings about this movie that's thirty
<v Speaker 6>years old. So does everybody else, you know. So it's
<v Speaker 6>been a pretty cool, pretty cool experience doing the podcast.
<v Speaker 6>As far as when Bond started, I started watching Bond
<v Speaker 6>with my grandparents and my dad, those Sunday Night movies
<v Speaker 6>that you talk about. My grandmother was a huge James
<v Speaker 6>Bond fan, a huge Sean Connery fan. So yeah, I
<v Speaker 6>would grow up and, like you were saying, kind of
<v Speaker 6>got the Sean Connery and Roger Moore in equal doses.
<v Speaker 6>And that's kind of where it all where it all started,
<v Speaker 6>you know, I was raised. My grandma made sure that
<v Speaker 6>I understood that, you know, Sean Connery was the best Bond,
<v Speaker 6>but there were some other Bonds. And then it just
<v Speaker 6>kind of followed through the rest of my life every level,
<v Speaker 6>you know, all the way up through college, and there
<v Speaker 6>was always a group of people that were Bond fans.
<v Speaker 6>So I got to kind of like grow up.
<v Speaker 2>With the series. Well, very good, if I could.
<v Speaker 1>I'll just share a little bit of my relationship with
<v Speaker 1>the Bond franchise because it sounds very similar to Jeff's.
<v Speaker 2>My dad graduated high school.
<v Speaker 1>In nineteen sixty three, which I think is the year
<v Speaker 1>that Doctor Note was released in the United States, and
<v Speaker 1>so he was kind of the Bond generation through all
<v Speaker 1>that super Spike crazy in the sixties, and that was
<v Speaker 1>something that he and I shared. You know, he took
<v Speaker 1>me to my first Bond movie View to a Kill.
<v Speaker 1>When I was a freshman in high school, I must
<v Speaker 1>have been, and so that one was my first experience
<v Speaker 1>with James Bond, and I had a good time with
<v Speaker 1>my dad. So I don't hate that movie as much
<v Speaker 1>as most people seem to. But that became a tradition.
<v Speaker 1>There's something my dad and I bonded over. We saw
<v Speaker 1>every James Bond movie that came out. That continued into
<v Speaker 1>my adulthood, and after I'd moved away there was a
<v Speaker 1>new Bond movie, I'd make the trip down to my hometown.
<v Speaker 1>We'd go see it together, and so that's always been
<v Speaker 1>kind of special to me. He passed away after a
<v Speaker 1>Casino Royal. That was the last one that I saw
<v Speaker 1>with him, and I have not I haven't really been
<v Speaker 1>particularly in the mood to see a new release since then.
<v Speaker 2>I haven't. I don't know if I will, to be.
<v Speaker 1>Honest, but I remain a casual Bond fan and I
<v Speaker 1>will still watch all the old ones occasionally. I'll go
<v Speaker 1>on a binge every once in a while. So I'm
<v Speaker 1>not a huge Bond fan. So when this topic came up,
<v Speaker 1>I didn't feel like I knew enough to be able
<v Speaker 1>to have an conduct my own intelligent enough of a draft.
<v Speaker 1>So but I'm I'm a casual fan. I'm not a
<v Speaker 1>hater of it for sure. So I'm excited to be
<v Speaker 1>able to help you all out with this today. And
<v Speaker 1>I think we're getting ready to get started. We'll start drafting.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna just go through Fantasy football style snake draft.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna donna go snake style, but in each round
<v Speaker 1>we'll start with with a different person, so I'll just
<v Speaker 1>keep that straight.
<v Speaker 2>We don't have to worry about it too much.
<v Speaker 1>So before we get started on drafting our Bond girls,
<v Speaker 1>I asked everyone to submit to me their own idea
<v Speaker 1>for a Bond girl name, their own original Bond Girl name,
<v Speaker 1>and that I would use the quality of their puns
<v Speaker 1>to determine the draft order. And these guys do not
<v Speaker 1>know what I've decided. They don't even know what everybody
<v Speaker 1>else has even come up with.
<v Speaker 2>So here we go. I'm gonna start.
<v Speaker 1>So they're all great, They're all solid, right, They're all
<v Speaker 1>absolutely usable. I could see them in a Bond movie.
<v Speaker 1>But I have to rank them, so I'm gonna go
<v Speaker 1>at number four.
<v Speaker 2>Is gonna be Van with New Mind was a word.
<v Speaker 2>So so what I try.
<v Speaker 1>I judge these based on, like how much does this
<v Speaker 1>fit the convention of what the Bond movies do? Okay,
<v Speaker 1>So Van's entry was Gloria Climax, So it's good.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's pretty good.
<v Speaker 1>Not not you know, not unfathomable that it might be used.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, but uh, but well it.
<v Speaker 5>Was the only one I could think of that didn't
<v Speaker 5>it wasn't already a porn star.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, they're all kind of used up, right. So the
<v Speaker 1>third one is gonna be Pat. Pat had a great
<v Speaker 1>sounding Bond name. It Fanny good Bottom. So I uh,
<v Speaker 1>At first, I was going to deduct points for the
<v Speaker 1>use of Fanny, thinking it was a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>an old, old fashioned name. Then I remember that James
<v Speaker 1>Bond goes back the movies go back to nineteen sixty two,
<v Speaker 1>so I think you, uh, I think you get away
<v Speaker 1>with Fanny good Bottom.
<v Speaker 2>So get off, I get off.
<v Speaker 1>Find So it's a quality name, but we got some
<v Speaker 1>we got some tough entries ahead of you. So number
<v Speaker 1>two is actually my favorite one. So number two is
<v Speaker 1>gonna be Jeff Johnson. So Jeff came up with a
<v Speaker 1>fantastic name. It is Nakata spits.
<v Speaker 2>Now.
<v Speaker 1>The reason why that is so good is, well, those
<v Speaker 1>of us that speak Croatian already know how good of
<v Speaker 1>a name that is. But if you need Nakata translated
<v Speaker 1>into English, it is never.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yes, there we go.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, okay, okay.
<v Speaker 2>So top shelf punk quality.
<v Speaker 1>But also I don't think the Bond movies make you
<v Speaker 1>work that hard for the punchline. So I put him
<v Speaker 1>in second place, and Jason Colvin I think absolutely nails
<v Speaker 1>the spirit of.
<v Speaker 2>The movies with Ophelia Mellon's.
<v Speaker 3>Nicely Doe.
<v Speaker 1>So to start off, the draft order will be Jason, Jeff,
<v Speaker 1>Pat and Van and we'll go from there.
<v Speaker 4>My goal today was not to get in trouble with
<v Speaker 4>my wife or anybody at my church. I think I'm
<v Speaker 4>over to already. So yeah, all right, very good.
<v Speaker 1>Well, guys, I think we're ready to get started on
<v Speaker 1>drafting our Bond girls.
<v Speaker 2>So Jason Colvin, you are on the clock.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, okay, Well, this is the first pick out of
<v Speaker 4>the gate. Thank you very much, Dave. I know who
<v Speaker 4>I'm gonna take, and I'll tell you right off the bat.
<v Speaker 4>This is the girl who impacted me the most emotionally
<v Speaker 4>when I watched this movie. Okay, so she actually dies
<v Speaker 4>in the movie, This, of course is Vesper, Linda. I'm
<v Speaker 4>going Vesper right out of the gate from Casino Royale.
<v Speaker 4>She was playing Bond, but she actually fell in love
<v Speaker 4>with him and then her your death scene was just
<v Speaker 4>incredibly moving, and I love Cassino Royal. So I'm taking
<v Speaker 4>Vesper right out of the gate.
<v Speaker 5>That would have probably been my first pick. Jason, Hey,
<v Speaker 5>can I just say the thing I was thinking about
<v Speaker 5>strategy wise? Here is something I learned from fantasy football.
<v Speaker 5>You don't necessarily take the one you want the most
<v Speaker 5>or you like the most. You take the one that's
<v Speaker 5>going to be the hardest to get later.
<v Speaker 4>That's true.
<v Speaker 5>And if you hadn't taken her, I would have eventually.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, that was a very good move.
<v Speaker 4>I think, thank you, thank you, all right.
<v Speaker 2>Very good. No other thoughts on that. We'll move on ahead.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff, you're up, Well, I'll tell you like Van, Vesper
<v Speaker 3>definitely would have been my choice. So I've got my
<v Speaker 3>ranking system that I came up with, So I'm gonna
<v Speaker 3>go to my number two overall pick, which happens to.
<v Speaker 4>Be the very first Bond girl for me.
<v Speaker 3>Talking about honor, Blackman in nineteen sixty four is Goldfinger
<v Speaker 3>playing pussy Galore.
<v Speaker 4>I must be dreaming. That's a good one. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>most people know her name, she's got that great Bond name. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>you know, she was thirty nine at the time of
<v Speaker 4>filming Goldfinger.
<v Speaker 5>She was the only Bond girl older than the Bond
<v Speaker 5>actor until Monica Bulucci inspector.
<v Speaker 4>Wow.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I thought I thought Monica had the record, but
<v Speaker 3>I didn't know. I didn't know Honor was that close.
<v Speaker 2>So older than Sean Connery, yeah, wow.
<v Speaker 6>And she was a I mean, she was such a
<v Speaker 6>great character, like an actual strong part of that movie.
<v Speaker 6>And I mean, like, you know, she's a pilot too,
<v Speaker 6>which like immediately makes higher street credit.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, very cool character.
<v Speaker 5>She's a lesbian and Sean Connery's bond is able to
<v Speaker 5>bring her over to the side, so that right there.
<v Speaker 2>She couldn't do that today, but sixty three or whatever. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I love the fact that she know she she's fem fatale,
<v Speaker 3>you know, classic femme fatale, because you know, she she
<v Speaker 3>goes toe to toe with him. You know, she's not
<v Speaker 3>the damsel in distress that you typically see a Bond
<v Speaker 3>girl be, so like like Pat was saying, she's definitely
<v Speaker 3>got strength.
<v Speaker 4>I love that her, all.
<v Speaker 2>Right, so we'll keep going. So Pat, you're up next,
<v Speaker 2>You're on the clock.
<v Speaker 6>Then you kind of foreshadowed where I was going with this.
<v Speaker 6>I've got to pick one of my favorite actresses of
<v Speaker 6>all time that when I found out she was going
<v Speaker 6>to be a Bond girl, Miss Monica Balucci, I was
<v Speaker 6>like absolutely floored, and I so I'm going to go
<v Speaker 6>out of the gate. I'm going to Luccia Sciara. And
<v Speaker 6>I gotta be honest. They always say, like, behave be
<v Speaker 6>careful with the fantasy draft. Don't just you know, pick
<v Speaker 6>from your favorite team or pick for your favorite you know,
<v Speaker 6>and all that. But I'm just going to break that
<v Speaker 6>rule because I love everything that I've seen Monica Balucci
<v Speaker 6>act in. And it's an understatement to say she's an
<v Speaker 6>incredibly attractive human being. But what I think is amazing
<v Speaker 6>is kind of what we were talking about with the
<v Speaker 6>actress that was in the first Bond film. She was
<v Speaker 6>older than Daniel Craig at the time. You know, you
<v Speaker 6>start reading about this that so many you know that
<v Speaker 6>you cast like a fifty five year old dude with
<v Speaker 6>like a twenty year old gal and it's like, okay, well,
<v Speaker 6>you know, where is this all coming from, you know,
<v Speaker 6>And but she gets on screen and I mean, she
<v Speaker 6>is incredibly attractive on screen. The hard part is that
<v Speaker 6>she has only a small part of the movie. But
<v Speaker 6>my gosh, what's done with that time? The scene where
<v Speaker 6>she's walking in in the movie Specter, the after the
<v Speaker 6>funeral scene, and she's just walking in and you see
<v Speaker 6>on her face like just resignation that she knows that
<v Speaker 6>she's going to be, you know, assassinated next, and it's
<v Speaker 6>just the camera follows her and you're immediately captivated by
<v Speaker 6>the way she walks and just the most subtle facial expressions.
<v Speaker 6>And then when the assassins appear and you can see
<v Speaker 6>resolution she knows what's coming next. Then surprise that when
<v Speaker 6>Bond says her, and then the anger it all flashes,
<v Speaker 6>and all it is it's just a couple of looks,

<v Speaker 6>see this movie in the theaters. And so I got
<v Speaker 6>a chance to see it, and I loved the whole movie,
<v Speaker 6>and she was such a wonderful part of the movie
<v Speaker 6>and the thing that I loved. And it was like
<v Speaker 6>I was sitting in a theater almost wishing, like, man,
<v Speaker 6>I wish I was at home so I could like
<v Speaker 6>rewind and watch these scenes again. Because what I found
<v Speaker 6>amazing is that at first it started off in my
<v Speaker 6>mind like the stereotypical Bond girl, right, And like all
<v Speaker 6>of a sudden, it was like, okay, she's she seems
<v Speaker 6>a little bit bubbly, she seems a little out of place.
<v Speaker 6>I'm sure that Daniel Krai is going to have to
<v Speaker 6>bail her out. And then I started really kind of
<v Speaker 6>my own age realizing, Okay, I'm closer to Daniel Craig
<v Speaker 6>age than I am to her age. So that kind
<v Speaker 6>of reshaped how I was looking at this character. And
<v Speaker 6>then when this when the action, like you know when
<v Speaker 6>everything started dusting up, and she was incredibly capable at
<v Speaker 6>handling herself, incredibly capable in a fight. I mean, was
<v Speaker 6>like an effective part of the team. I was just
<v Speaker 6>blown away with this because it was such a bait
<v Speaker 6>and sweat. You were totally expecting that, Okay, this is
<v Speaker 6>gonna be a little she's gonna be out of storts
<v Speaker 6>and Bond's gonna have to help her out. The other
<v Speaker 6>thing that it only occurred to me after and then
<v Speaker 6>I was rewatching is you know, at first, Bond's kind
<v Speaker 6>of taken aback by her. She couldn't be less interested
<v Speaker 6>in him as a person or like as like an
<v Speaker 6>attractive thing. Like even when she's like here, change clothes
<v Speaker 6>and he's just like, well, aren't you gonna and she goes, oh,
<v Speaker 6>you need me to turn around? Like it just did.
<v Speaker 6>It didn't even occur to her, and it was so
<v Speaker 6>great that, Okay, now you have a Bond girl. But
<v Speaker 6>they show and it was such an effective way to
<v Speaker 6>show the age was like, and that's kind of where
<v Speaker 6>I'm starting to feel closer Bond, Like he's not even
<v Speaker 6>on her radar, like in terms of like physical attraction.
<v Speaker 6>She is all about the mission, And I'm just like,
<v Speaker 6>how awesome is that? Like you got someone you were
<v Speaker 6>baited into thinking she's in experience. She's so focused on
<v Speaker 6>the mission, so capable at executing the mission. I was
<v Speaker 6>like blown away with that character. I thought, I thought
<v Speaker 6>it was I thought it was awesome. And the way
<v Speaker 6>Anna d Armis played it was was fantastic.

<v Speaker 6>he had a favorite, you know, I think he liked
<v Speaker 6>Sean Connery or whatnot. But yeah, then I watched on
<v Speaker 6>Her Majesty's Secret Service and I was blown away, and
<v Speaker 6>I thought, missus Bond, like that movie is awesome and
<v Speaker 6>somehow maybe I don't know how you guys are with it,
<v Speaker 6>but it almost kind of fell in the cracks growing up,
<v Speaker 6>you know, between all the other ones going out there.
<v Speaker 5>Well, the thing was they wouldn't show it on ABC
<v Speaker 5>like they did Live in Life Time and the others,
<v Speaker 5>and it was not financially successful like the That's one
<v Speaker 5>of the reasons that he didn't return. The other reason
<v Speaker 5>was he quit because he got all big head thinking
<v Speaker 5>he was the biggest star in the world. But the
<v Speaker 5>thing about that Jason you mentioned about Seeing the Grave,
<v Speaker 5>that movie was the only one where they just filmed
<v Speaker 5>the book. Peter Hunt, the editor, was allowed to direct
<v Speaker 5>that one and he said, I'm not going to do
<v Speaker 5>some you know, take the book and mess it all up.
<v Speaker 5>We're just gonna film the book. And they did, and
<v Speaker 5>it really doesn't fit into the series. In fact, Blofeld
<v Speaker 5>is in that movie and he's never seen Bond before
<v Speaker 5>when he just fought Bond in the previous movie.
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't fit in. And you could have just said.
<v Speaker 5>It's like outside of continuity, except for for your eyes
<v Speaker 5>only brings it back into continuity, so you're stuck with

<v Speaker 5>number three was Vesper at four forty four. But using
<v Speaker 5>my value theory of drafting, I probably would have picked
<v Speaker 5>Vesper with the first pick.
<v Speaker 2>I ended up with my second choice.
<v Speaker 5>So because both one and three were gone, I believe
<v Speaker 5>by the time it was my choice, but I got
<v Speaker 5>number two, so I'm happy with that. But I had
<v Speaker 5>to take Witlan because I absolutely love Michelle Yo. I
<v Speaker 5>love Waitlan. She does such cool stuff in that movie.
<v Speaker 5>She's way cooler than Bond. And that's my favorite Bond too, Brison,
<v Speaker 5>and yet she's out she out cools my favorite Bond.
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, awesome and pat, which when would you pick?
